It became more popular after it was introduced from the famous TV program, Wednesday Food Talk (수요미식회, Suyomisikhoe) It is famous for fried chicken and fried chili peppers. I tried fried deep-fried Chicken Gizzards for the first time and it was very savory with good chewy texture. Han Chu Stir-fried Rice Cake is also the signature dish which I will try next time. There are a lot of people on weekends, so waiting can be long. But It's worth waiting and enjoying the young vibe.

19 Dec 2023: Not a big restaurant, simple set-up and a local favorite place to chill over cold beer and fried chicken. Ordered Seasoned Chicken. Deep-Fried Vegetable and a Soup with soft tofu. Amazing soft and succulent fried chicken with crispy batter, sweet spicy sauce and it goes very well with our beer. Friendly service, reasonable prices and they also serve nice daikon radish and corn snacks served as appetizer

Completely delicious fried chicken. The batter is mixed with some sort of herb that I really enjoyed. The chicken can be ordered plain or with spicy sauce. We got half and half. Both are really nice but I probably prefer it with the sauce. We didn't order the fried peppers because it would have been too much food but the couple next to us actually offered us one which completely made my day! Wow you have no idea how excited that made me. Sharing is so nice! yay! I can confidently confirm that the pork filled fried green peppers are also delicious. The people working here were friendly. But also, if you don't drink beer here you will HAVE to order at least one - we tried to order two alcohol free beers and the waitress only let us order one.... for us it was fine, but I can see how this would offend some people.

Pretty good chicken place…chicken batter has some pepper for little spice. Another popular item is the fried pepper, did not try but will try next time. Place is well ventilated so you don’t smell like a deep fryer. Washroom is outside around the corner. Would come again.

Little shop, almost looks like it only does takeout. I am pretty sure I ordered the boneless x 2 chili pepper spicy chicken but when the server came, she was really rushing me and I may have pointed to the bone-in version. And then she took the menus and was gone like a tornado, the same way she arrived and rushed my order. It arrived and it’s bone-in and not at all spicy, but sweet. I called and politely said I had ordered boneless. A few minutes later, the same server asks me to come with her to the cash register, and shows me cctv footage of me ordering! Saying it shows I pointed to the bone-in spicy chicken (never mind it was sweet and not spicy so the wrong flavour). Without voice or zoom, I can’t tell for sure what I pointed at in the menu. The point is she rushed me in the first place. I was so baffled at the utter lack of customer service, I just paid and left. I felt furious and humiliated. Do not ever recommend this place, and the chicken was incredibly overpriced anyways. I thought it would be really good at that price, but it’s the lowest ranking of all the chicken places I have tried in S. Korea so far. Oh, and the whole are I was had a blowing air conditioner. It felt weird to move with all my side dishes and drinks, but it wasn’t good either.

Food is okay not the best chicken dry , but…let’s talk about service, sucks!! I think was the owner last picture in the top right, so disrespectful fighting with us because we asked for another sauce mind you were trying to pay for it not to get it for free, but she got upset because it was the third chili soy sauce we asked for as customers we asked for whatever we want as we’re paying for after that inconvenience. The atmosphere feel weird we ended up paying and living to another place. This person is so rude and don’t know how to handle situations in a proper way. We’re also restaurants owners, this way of handling the situation was not right yelling to costumers WE DIDN’T WANT ANYTHING FOR FREE! If we were asking for food and beer every 30 minutes why would we want a chili for free ? Obviously no! Don’t worry with this treatment no want would return , you should learn from this and treat customers with respect no one is beyond someone. Thanks!

Possibly my favourite Korean Fried Chicken restaurant in Seoul. Located just next to Pacific Hotel and a small walk from my accomodation, Two Two Fried Chicken is a restaurant that I couldn't miss out on. Came with my family and we ordered 2 serves of boneless fried chicken and a few bottles of Kloud beer and were completely satisfied with what we got for what we normally pay back in Australia. Will certainly be back when I am next time in Seoul.

Nov 2023. We were back here again. Loved this outlet and the waitresses here could speak mandarin. We all agreed the spicy fried chicken was the better choice than the original and soy versions. We even tried the cold noodles accompanied with vegetables and snail.

Now that I’ve been to a few Korean Fried Chicken places in Seoul, I can say with some perspective and confidence that Two Two Fried Chicken is really just ok, and not great. The sauces themselves were fine, but overall the chicken wasn’t incredible. I appreciated that they offered boneless wings for each of their sauces, and that they provided the little round corn snacks and daikon, but would recommend trying other places.

Good restaurant thanks to its service and staff . Owing to what my Korean friend said, the fried chicken favour at this restaurant is not what he expected and that is also what I feel like. Maybe this light favour is suitable for foreigners but not for one who wants to try original Korean fried chicken and gourmets. Can try but I don't recommend it.

11 of us came trying authentic Korean fried chicken was right at the top of our must-do list and it did not disappoint! Unfortunately, the night we visited, it was raining. The outdoor seating setup wasn’t ideal for wet weather. Honestly, the restaurant should consider adding portable aluminum truck shelters they’re easy to set up and offer solid rain protection, which would definitely improve the dining experience on rainy days. Still, the food made up for it. The original fried chicken was served hot, crispy, and incredibly tasty hands down one of the best we’ve had. And of course, it paired perfectly with a cold, chilled beer. Totally worth braving the rain for!

Chanced upon this fried chicken outlet while we were looking for BHC (which was long queue) at Myeongdong. Only the foreigner service staff were friendly and helpful. The older lady staff (could be the lady boss) and the younger staff might be having a bad day 🤷🏻‍♀️... Nearing the end of our meal (there were still food left) we requested for more the radish banchan and the older lady staff said "but you have no more food (left)" in Korean. We were shocked! The non-Korean service staff were on the other hand very nice and friendly.

Its a beer and chicken thing and this place serves it quite nicely in a cozier setting. Our host prefer the Soju and beer combo drink with this particular brand. After preparing the shots (with a shot glass on top of another shot glass portioning) the eldest on the table gets the first drink. Then the chicken meal with shots begins. It a great combo which is offered all over the strip. Our booth seating offered a little privacy and we could carry a conversation quite nicely around here with no need to shout at one another.

Great place to eat fried chicken. We got this place recommended by seoul locals and we haven't been disappointed. The place is a small restaurant with ca. 30 places. We had the standart fried chicken dish (chicken had bones). The chicken is seasoned very good and is really crunchy. We had one plate for two people wich was enough for us. By side we got some potato wedges wich were equally well seasoned and some kind of fruit or vegetable (i cant really tell) and a spicy asian style sauce. All in all a gret place to eat fried chicken.

The shop focuses on fried chicken and has a modern, stylish interior. We came for dinner around 7:30 PM and were seated quickly. After ordering, we waited about 20 minutes without any food, so we had to remind the staff. When it arrived, the chicken was a little too oily for our taste, but the flavor itself was good. There’s a self-service bar with free popcorn and pickled radish, which was a nice touch while waiting.

Came at 1pm on a Thursday when the restaurant was completely empty - dozens of tables free. I just wanted some chicken, a beer, and to charge my phone while I ate and rested for an hour. I sat at a tall table near a power outlet but was told I couldn't with no reasonable explanation. With 50+ other empty tables, it felt absurdly inflexible. Staff showed zero awareness or flexibility at what was clearly an off peak time, so I went somewhere friendlier and more accommodating. Not the experience I've been used to in this wonderful city.

Out of the big chains (Kyochon, BHC, BBQ Chicken and NeNe Chicken) Kyochon is by far the best chicken quality. The coating is way thinner and crisper than the others and the sauces were really tasty too. Staff was really fast with the orders, I'm talking about 30 seconds until a new beer came to our table and everything was tasty and hot. The cheese balls are 3 levels above off what BHC is offering. The location is really big and gets quite noisy especially when the tables around you are full as well but that's it.

Fries were really fresh and seasoned well. Chicken was good but lacking some flavour. There's only one type of chicken on the menu and they'll give you some hot and sweet sauce. This is definitely a place that locals go to but it's a bit pricey for what you get.

My friend had the Edward Lee Thigh Burger and he said it was okay for him and thought it was worth a 3 stars for him. There are 2 levels of dining on 2F and 3F. So not wheelchair accessible.

I always order their crispy chicken burger but this time I was having their special set menu with Cajun Fries and I love how tender and juicy chicken and meat they put into. Korean fried chicken at it's best. Different flavors to choose from, look at the translated menu on my photo. One order is large good for 2-3 people! Waited 15-20min for our order. Large box of chicken comes with a box of shredded cabbage salad with mayo and red sauce, a small tray of pickled radish, 1 can of coca cola, and chopsticks. This is a couple of blocks away from Insa-dong culture street. Sitting inside is very limited, outdoor dining may be available there's plastic table and chairs outside. Owner is very kind.

Came here from NYC after seeing the moneysigneric video to try out the fried chicken. Did not disappoint, chicken was crispy and fresh. The interior has a really great vibe and is filled with locals. The owner is very hardworking and was very accommodating to me even though I couldn’t speak much Korean. Gave me 2 free Korean cookies when I left too. Really enjoyed the visit, highly recommend.

INSANE spot. Worth going out of your way for. We got the garlic soy and the standard wings and they were both exquisite. Had some beer and soju with it naturally and it was just superb. I stumbled across this place while watching moneysigneric’s video on Youtube. Came here on a Friday night, super chill, comfortable and welcoming ambience to eat fried chicken. Enjoyed the 80s/90s music. The staff / boss was friendly and we enjoyed the good service. We ordered the half and half (soy + snowing cheese) - very tender and delicious fried chicken. It’s a must to add the fried rice cakes! Very yummy. 🤤🤤 Would definitely come again when back in Korea. Will miss this place.

So good! The chicken was cooked perfectly- crispy skin, juicy, tender meat :] They play some older K-Rock, which I think is more my vibe that K-Pop, honestly. I was worried it would be crowded (based off something I quickly read online), but arrived around 5pm to find nobody there. People started trickling in later, but I was able to enjoy some peace here as I ate my solo meal.

It's always a blessing to have a friend who speak Korean and helps get a table quicker and a good table on the first floor. We waited for 10 minutes and manager to shop at Olive & Young in 10 minutes too - crazy. We had to try fried chicken with Soju, since it was first time trying it no complaint, I loved it . The staff were helpful with our order but sad part was most of the dishes were sold out so no fries were available. Otherwise we were the last to leave. Important washroom is available just opposite the restaurant on the first floor- important thing.

2 of us waited outside BHC Myeongdong for just a few mins on a Sat night around 6pm, someone brought us upstairs to another floor for seated. The area is pretty small with less than 10 tables, no washroom there. Since 2 of us occupied a 4 seats table, so I have no complain on the space. We ordered half-half (original + sweet & spicy) bone-in chicken, with 2 coke. The original chicken tasted good, but not surprisingly delicious as per some YouTubers' comments. The sweet and spicy one is a bit spicy after taste though. The size of the food are good enough for 2 adults.

Take a step off the main road and find some steps down to a basement level on the corner of the street. You will find a hidden gem here. It's a magnificent Korean BBQ restaurant. The staff are welcoming and seat you quickly. There are storage areas under your seat for your bags. There are many meat options including a large variety of pork and beef cuts and sets. The staff will provide you with continuous refills of sides and cook your meat to perfection. It is tasty, tender and sumptuous. No matter how you pair, combine and consume your dishes it tastes magnificent. Very tantalising to the tongue. Definitely worth a visit. You will need to set some time here to enjoy your meal. A wonderful experience!

I had the 3 Kind Beef Set and Steamed Cheese Egg at this restaurant today. The food quality is excellent – the beef is fresh and flavorful, perfectly grilled to bring out the best taste and texture. Fantastic selection of fried chicken and beer. Very popular with the local which is always a good sign. Portion is very generous, chicken and a sides can easily feed 2 adults. Most of the chicken has abit of spiciness so may not be as enjoyable for children who can’t take abit of heat (same or slightly spicier than KFC hot and spicy). Overall a great place to have good Korean chicken in a nice relaxing atmosphere (English menu available).

Fair taste of curry fried chicken it has as well as varying selection of cocktails and beer. With a full vibe of Jamaican Reggae, here you can find bottled Red Stripe, the famous Jamaican Lager. The place only has about 10 to 15 seats so you might have to wait or go check out the second branch next to Sangsu station. Curry sauce which goes well with properly cooked chicken is nice and quite unique, but I personally find too much hype among people.

The chicken was delicious and the portions very generous, an order (17000 won) gives you a full chicken, fried. The draft beer was flowing and the atmosphere was also very chilled. We will likely try to return there before the end of our trip to try the curry chicken.

Pretty awesome laid back reggae themed bar with Korean fried chicken and cheap drinks. Try the yungarita, a berry flavored cocktail with tecquila that's not overly saccharine. The vibe is very 'downstairs basement ' chill and the food and drinks are great, but service is pretty slow. To note, they don't speak English but the menu has English translations. Also, the fried chicken is served with this plate of almost jicama like turnip with the most amazing flavor. I'd go back for that alone! Popcorn is free and pretty great too.

We finally came to Reggae chicken and the inside is small and dark but the music is good and the vibe of the restaurant is really nice. We ordered the Bob Marley cocktail which was rum based and was a very refreshing drink like most good rum and cokes. We ordered the Reggae chicken original and the greens and fries. The chicken was nice and crispy and juicy which had been seasoned well and went well with the different sauces available to dip. The greens and fries were a mixture of regular fries, onion rings, fried okra and fried baby tomatoes which was an interesting addition. The food was good but not the best fried chicken available and would have liked the chicken batter to have some more extra flavour. The fries went well with the concept of fried chicken and fries that I enjoy. The jerk sauce was ok but the other white sauce went well with the chicken and fries. The waiting staff were really kind and helpful as well.

Terrible Experience at Yoogane - Avoid this Restaurant! During my recent trip to South Korea, I had the opportunity to dine at Yoogane, and I regret to say that it was far from a positive experience. The service at this restaurant left a lot to be desired, and my companions and I were thoroughly disappointed with our visit. To make matters worse, server 2, another short-haired staff member, displayed a regrettable and scolding tone while helping us fry our rice. This behaviour created an uncomfortable atmosphere throughout our meal, and it was a stark departure from the professional conduct one would anticipate from the restaurant staff. We visited Yoogane on a Tuesday afternoon around 3 pm, and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Despite the lack of customers, the staff didn't seem interested in attending to anyone properly. I observed them being rude not only to us but also to other tourists sitting at the adjacent table. The staff talked loudly and even rolled her eyes when the tourists tried communicating with them. Witnessing this behaviour was extremely disheartening, as it was evident that the staff's unprofessionalism was a consistent issue. I strongly advise against visiting Yoogane based on my horrendous experience. The restaurant's terrible service and disrespectful staff ruined what should have been a pleasant dining experience. As a tourist trying to enjoy the local cuisine, encountering such rudeness was truly disappointing. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in South Korea that offer delicious food and exceptional service, so do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

When the meat dalgalbi come, It just simply stir it then go away, let the customer stir ourselves. After the staff come back, just simply stir it then switch off tha gas. When we taste it, the meat undercooked, chicken still have blood. Not recommend for this restaurant.

This is a popular dakgalbi chain restaurant and it is very catered for tourists since it is located in myeongdong, did not see any locals here. The menu has english and photos, so it's really easy to order, adding the fried rice at the end is highly recommended because it's just so good when they fry the rice in front of you. The flavor is very appetizing and addictive, you can pick the menu with cheese if you like that, but it's quite filling.

We had looked forward to dining at Jungsik in Seoul with high expectations. We had been to their NYC location, which recently earned a third Michelin star. We made a reservation for our larger party, which meant that we would be dining in one of their private dining rooms instead of their beautiful main dining room. Prior to the date, the reservation team communicated with us via email regarding menu selections and the seating chart so everything would be prepared prior to our arrival. They were mindful that we had one person with a nuts allergy and were very careful to recommend nuts free options. The final seating arrangement, however, was different from what I had specified. It didn't detract from our experience but it was just strange that they asked me to fill out a seating chart and then the table seating was different from what I had detailed. A very nice touch was that we each received a printed menu specific to each individual along with the person's name on it. The food was very good in general and well worth the price. A few of the dishes bordered excellent and they all had high quality ingredients. The gimbab, fish, duck and the desserts were among our favorites. Each dish was beautifully presented and well cooked. The desserts were great, not too sweet and visually stunning. Where the two Michelin restaurant fell short was in their service and facilities. There was very little interaction between us and the wait staff. They were very quiet, probably due to the language barrier. We saw very little of them except for when food was served and water glasses needed to be filled. They did not seem comfortable and always hurried off. I do have to mention the conditions of the restrooms which, for a 2 Michelin star restaurant, was unacceptable. The floor in most of them were wet in places throughout the entire 3 hours of our dinner. We all made similar negative comments about the restrooms. It's unusual for a fine dining establishment to not have staff spruce up the restrooms periodically. Overall, we did thoroughly enjoy the food but found the service and facilities lacking.

During our visit to Seoul, we decided to visit Jungsik. Visiting this restaurant was an amazing experience. We had a reservation for a private room which is a better option than a dining room because of the greater silence. The dishes served in this restaurant are perfect, dinner starts with Amuse bouche which is served in an innovative style. Next are delicious appetizers and a main course to choose from two, then the last course and desserts, one of which is served in the shape of a statue. To sum up, dinner at Jungsik is an experience of the Lifetime presenting the most delicious dishes of Korean cuisine in an innovative and modern way. The most delicious dishes were abalone, gimbap, duck, statue and amuse bouche. I highly recommend Jungsik and I hope they will get the coveted third Michelin star just like their second place in New York

A refreshing and tasty take on Korean cuisine I was excited to snag a reservation for lunch at the Seoul location. Figure it was a good opportunity, especially since the Seoul location is slightly cheaper than the restaurant in NYC. The decor is sleek and modern. The service is excellent as you would expect, and they provided explanations of each dish in both Korean and English. We came here to celebrate a family birthday and they threw in a bonus birthday seaweed soup which was a smart touch. My overall take on this place is that it is a refreshing twist on familiar classics. Unlike some other fine dining restaurants, every dish was also incredibly tasty. The perfect audience for any lover of classic Korean cuisine. The portions were perfect and we left fully satisfied. Banchan - A great way to kick off the meal. Banchan is spirit but not taste. 4 small dishes meant to be eaten in progression. A light broth. Silken tofu in a perilla oil glaze. Beef tartare. The final bite was a true delight - foie grois that is lightly sweeten served with a thin slice of pear and a light jelly. The sweetness made it almost dessert like and refreshing? So good Pine Mushroom Muguk - A mix of mushrooms and a dumpling in a light broth. Nothing crazy but a light refreshing dish. Also my first time having lion's mane mushroom? Really liked it Abalone - I had actually eaten a ton of abalone the few days prior, but I did not mind Jungsik's take. They smoked it and it ended up almost tasting like steak? Incredibly meaty which removed a lot of the fishy take. So cool. Paired well with the butter sauce and mint oil. Miyeok Guk - Complimentary birthday soup. They actually charred the rice and it ended up tasting like paella. It was an exciting twist on a classic. Gimbap - This cost extra, but I could resist this supposed signature dish. A lightly battered and fried seaweed cigar stuffed with rice, bulgogi, and truffle. Served with a truffle sauce. It was a blast of umami and crispy. Def worth the cost if you have room in your belly. Okdom - A perfectly seared and flakey white fish. Served with a light anchovy broth and barley rice. Duck - The main course. Perfectly tender with a crisp skin. Served with several woody accouterments, including a roasted chestnut and lotus root. Suljigemi - A light sorbet made from the byproduct of makgeolli. Palette cleanser. Dulharebung - The classic jeju stone grandpa but made of spongecake and matcha ice cream. It looked like a piece of art. NY-Seoul - Inspired by elements from both cities.A mixture of pecan based bites with ice cream. Yummy. Sweet Potato - An ice cream shaped like a sweet potato on a bed of breadcrumbs made to look like soil. Served with your choice of tea or coffee.

Dined here for lunch on 7/6 when I was vacationing in Seoul and had a fabulous experience - might even be my favorite fine dining restaurant, up there with Kato and Providence (both similarly ranked Michelin star restaurants in Los Angeles) but way better value. My boyfriend and I thought every course - from appetizers to palette cleansers to the entrees - was a hit. They were the perfect blend of traditional Korean food with Western influences. We did not get any of the special add-ons since we tend to get really full at the end of a meal. We both got the duck entree, which was the best duck we've ever had. We got one of each dessert so we could try both, which were exactly what we wanted - not too sweet, heavy, or filling but very very delicious. I LOVED the dol hareubang dessert; the concept was an homage to Korea's Jeju Island, and the best part was that the dessert tasted even better than it looked. I'm not big on taking photos during meals and would rather focus on the experience, but I did snap a photo of this dessert :) The service was excellent; everyone was so attentive and friendly. The people dining seemed to mostly be Korean citizens of varying ages (late 20s thru the early 70s), as well as a few foreigners from the US, Japan, and China. In terms of value, the whole lunch came out to ~470,000 KRW for the two of us; the tasting menu for lunch was 200,000 KRW/person and we shared a bottle of wine. This equates to ~$339 USD total. (The dinner menu is 300,000 KRW/person.) Definitely excellent value compared to similar fine dining restaurants in the US. I hope to take my parents here during a future family trip to Korea.

I’ve been to many Michelin restaurants and Jungsik restaurant it definitely on the top of the list! The food and service experience is incredible, every dish is made to perfection and served that way. In addition to the cours menu we took some of the dishes from the additional menu and they were delicious! I recommend a lot coming to the restaurant!

I visited this place for an early dinner with five friends on a weekday. Even though there were plenty of staff, our food took around 30 minutes to come out. The chicken was really tasty, especially the red sauce! The place was a bit loud, so I just ate quickly and headed out.

The Kyojun Chicken here is completely different from what I’ve had in Malaysia. The outer layer is incredibly crispy, while the inside remains juicy and tender. We ordered two flavors: the original honey and the spicy version. Personally, I preferred the original honey flavor because it didn’t have too much sauce coating the crispy skin, which kept the texture perfectly crunchy. As for the spicy flavor, since I can’t handle too much heat, it was a bit too spicy for me, but those who enjoy spicy food might love it. The Must-Try: Their Signature Beer We also ordered their signature beer, and I have to say—it’s absolutely worth trying. The beer has a beautiful malt aroma, and in the final aftertaste, there’s a subtle sweetness that lingers on your palate. Pairing their beer with fried chicken is simply perfection. Important Note for Foreign Visitors There was a small unexpected situation during our visit. Perhaps because we are foreigners, we were asked to present our passports when ordering beer to verify our age. So if you’re visiting from another country, remember to bring your passport in case they request it when ordering alcohol. Overall, crispy, juicy fried chicken + great beer = an unbeatable combo. Definitely worth a visit!

Kyochon Fried Chicken is a Korean specialty. During this stay in Hongdae, I visited this restaurant and ordered the original fried chicken from their founding days. The chicken pieces were still very crispy and paired perfectly with beer. However, it didn’t feel as delicious as the Myeongdong branch, but I still recommend it.

the chicken is incredibly crispy but the service is not flexible. We are tourist and we did shopping a lot so we had many bags. Since we are two people and the waiteist can only assigned two seats to me and there is no basket. So the only way is put all the things on the floor or don't dine in.

The smell of fried chicken fills your mouth with the marinade of garlic, onions, and soy sauce as soon as you bite into it. The skin of the fried chicken is very crispy, which makes people want to taste it again and again. However, some parts of fried chicken, such as chicken breasts and parts with less fat, are It's fried all over again, so it tastes a bit dry, but because the marinade is so powerful, I think it's still worth a try.

Went there around June. We ordered one plate togo( to try).They didn’t let us wait inside. The restaurant wasn’t even busy at all….. they used a cell phone translator to communicate with us, used simplified Chinese ….. Sorry I don’t really know how to read simplified Chinese …… Their bathroom stinks like……. But the wings were good I guess.

All I can say is amazing and they truly deserve the 3 stars. You could truly appreciate the seasonal summer ingredients of Korea presented in a 12 course meal. So many components, techniques and flavors involved all executed to perfection. The pairing I got which included the introduction of different Korean Liquors to pair with the course which was an eye opener. my first time dining alone at a michelin rated restaurant and so glad i did it in mingles! the experience was simply amazing. the servers explained the food well and i really love how they use local ingredients and turn it into an innovative, mind blowing dish every time. the best representation of korean food done creatively imo. my fave of course was the hanwoo main dish. i also got the wine pairing to go with my meal. i left the resto super full, a bit tipsy and super happy!

For my wife’s birthday on August 9th, we had the chance to dine at Mingles, a Michelin 3-star restaurant in Seoul. Getting a reservation wasn’t easy, but once we stepped inside, I immediately understood why it’s so highly praised. The atmosphere was calm yet refined, and the service struck a perfect balance between attentive and comfortable. Every course was carefully curated, combining traditional Korean ingredients with a modern, creative touch. It really made me think, “So this is what Michelin 3 stars feel like.” 🍷 Wine Pairings • Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly 2021 (Domaine de Montille) Elegant and refreshing. It paired beautifully with the starters and seafood, instantly brightening the mood of the dinner. • Gevrey-Chambertin Sélection 2021 (Marchand-Tawse) A deep, expressive Pinot Noir with real presence. It matched the main course perfectly, smooth yet powerful. Overall, the food, service, wine, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations. Most importantly, my wife loved every moment, which made the evening truly unforgettable. For a special occasion, I don’t think there’s a better place than Mingles.

It was the ultimate gastronomic experience. The cauliflower with sea urchin was, without a doubt, the best bite I’ve ever had. The beef tartare was also the best I’ve tried. I was disappointed that the crab risotto wasn’t available, and the grilled shrimp was more ordinary than expected.

This is the best Michelin Star Restaurant I have tried. Chef Kang is re-inventing Korean cuisine. The food was unreal. From surprise to surprise, Chef Kang really takes it to another level with his Mingling Pot and Risotto - both best ever I have eaten. The bimbim bap and Jang Trio were heavenly prepared. The wine pairing was on point and the service was beyond stellar. I had the chance to converse briefly with Chef Kang and manager / sommelier Lee who were both personable and charismatic. Thank you Chef Kang and Mingles Team. Until my next dinner. 2nd visit: the first visit was hard to beat but this dinner came by a little peak higher. Special appreciation to Hyeon J Lee for the attention to details. Thank you again the team at Mingles.

Perfectly cooked rice with just the right amount of seasoning, and every bite was packed with flavor. You could tell it was made fresh, with high-quality ingredients and real attention to detail. Easily one of the best dakgalbi experiences I’ve ever had. The flavor was deep and perfectly balanced: spicy, smoky, and rich without being overwhelming. The chicken was tender and juicy, cooks right in front of you with ramen, rice cakes, and just the right amount of sauce. The staff were friendly and knew exactly when to step in to help stir or adjust the heat. Everything felt perfectly timed so the texture stayed consistent and nothing overcooked. The cheese add-on was a creamy, stretchy, and it tied the whole dish together. The portion size was huge for the price, easily shareable but hard to stop eating once you start. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic, full of that warm energy that makes Korean dining so fun. By the end, we had perfectly crispy bits of fried rice at the bottom that everyone fought over. If you’re in Hongdae and want authentic, flavorful dakgalbi that leaves you full and happy, Shin Mi Kyung is absolutely worth it.

The dakgalbi was really tasty — the chicken was flavorful and tender! 😋 But unfortunately, the person cooking for us wasn’t very attentive, so some of the food got burnt. A bit disappointing since the flavor was great overall. If cooked properly, it would’ve been perfect!

Best buffalo wings in Korea! Take it from an American obsessed with real buffalo sauce, these are legit! The smokehouse bbq is a standout too. Smoky and sharp, like from a real steakhouse! One recommendation: get extra ranch, you’ll need it!

My husband and I loved this place we started our trip coming here and ended our last night in Seoul coming again. We LOVED the dry cajun rub and yamyum wings but you can’t go wrong with anything. We highly recommend.

My friend recommended visiting this place - and absolutely no regrets. Wings are juicy, you can choose any flavor with different level of spice. The signature cocktail is amazing, I ordered two. The place is clean and fancy, and also foreigners friendly - waiters can recommended dishes in perfect English. Definitely worth going when visiting Itaewon Area.

This place was amazing! We found it randomly -the location is an interesting adventure to find- and we lucked out. The flavour was the best we had ever had- world wide, the selection was vast and the price was more than reasonable! I would highly recommend this to anyone travelling to Seoul. One last tip: order the soy wasabi option! Life changing!

I didn't take a picture of the chicken, but I took one of the empty plates. They are empty because we ate all the chicken, because it was very good. I was honestly rather dissappointed with most fried chicken in Seoul, as I thought the Rebublic of Korea would excel at this, but I suppose not. Nekkid wings were really good though. The earl grey tea cocktail was delicious as well.

We came here after a day of shopping. The food was GREAT! We had the Cajun fries and crunchy chicken wings. The fries were so good we had to get a second order. The chicken was also great, crunchy yet sooo juicy with perfect seasoning. To drink we had an ale Jeju beer. The service was ok, we got to the restaurant before two other tables but we got our order taken last guessing it was because we aren’t Korean. We weren’t paid much attention to unless we rang our service bell. We didn’t even get offered water until we asked for it. So in summary good food but not so good service.

Part of korean experience when in Seoul is to try “chimaek” i.e. a pairing of friend chicken and beer. Kkanbu is one of many specialized restaurant chains. We really enjoyed the fried chicken. Crispy, tasty skin but the meat is still soft and tender. Well cooked! Note - I couldn’t locate the branch I visited in Jamsil...so I posted my comment here instead.

The portions are large. Got the crispy fried chicken with the spicy sauce. My friend got the chicken tenders with scallions. Both were very good.

We were a bit shocked to see the upstairs dining environment being dirty and messy, there were rubbish and food scraps on the table, chair and floor even on the stairs basically everywhere... The service definitely needed improvement, she looks like she didn't care about a single thing and was standing there doing nothing, I was waiting for my food for a long time and yet she stands there doing nothing... Overall the fried chicken was good but the fries was overcooked and some sides taste terrible. Def need more improvement with service and dining environment..

Have tried many fried chicken restaurants in seoul...and oppadak is always my favorite ! The menu offered a delightful choice between baked and fried chicken, both promising a burst of flavors. The baked chicken, coated in a savory blend of herbs and spices, was a standout. The tender meat practically melted in my mouth, and the seasoning had a wonderful depth that left me craving more. On the other hand, the fried chicken boasted a perfect crunch with a tantalizingly crispy exterior. The juicy meat inside retained its moisture, making for an indulgent treat. Each bite was an explosion of taste. You can simply taste authentic Korean flavors whether dine in or take out.

Very busy restaurant, was able to order half a portion of oven baked bones thighs. Which as a solo person was great. The fries were super crispy and delicious almost better than the chicken.

The good place to enjoy chicken menu in Myeongdong. Oppadak fried chicken restaurant, they served widely of chicken menu. This place is famous for their oven baked chicken, which is really a unique dish. The oven baked chicken very crusty from outside and in the inside is tender and juicy, baked chicken is amazingly tasty. The roasted chicken also really nice very delicious and strong in flavor, I preferred the roasted chicken is more than baked chicken because is much more in flavor.

We ordered their duo baked and roasted garlic chicken for take away. We waited a little bit because its crowded and its not dissappointing. The chicken is juicy and tender. I love their original crispy chicken. Paired it with the pickles and its perfect!

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience here. We went tonight and ordered the half and half chicken (original and garlic). The waitress gave us our chicken but little did we know it was wrong - we were given original and spicy. We told the waitress it was the wrong one and we couldn't eat it because it was really spicy so she took it away. After 5 mins she came back and said she couldn't change it because we ate it already... We weren't able to tell it was garlic or not by just looking at it?! I asked to speak to her manager and the guy at the cash register comes and just picks up the chicken and walks away without even speaking to us. We told the waitress to not worry about it and offered to pay for half the dish even thought we only had like 2 pieces.... In terms of the 'baked' chicken, it was not crunchy and the meat was slightly dry. BHC is much better and worth the wait. Do not expect fried chicken here.

Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The one caveat is you will have to purchase beer regardless of if you want to or not (non issue for me). A whole chicken for 2 ppl was actually fine (the individual pieces run small). Warning: the first bite into the fresh, piping hot triple-fried chicken may cause a momentary black out.

Unpleasant Experience and Forced Purchases This restaurant was incredibly unfriendly and unclean. The owner forcibly sells alcohol and gets angry if your order doesn't match the number of people in your party. Even if there are minors who can't drink beer, you're still forced to order beer for everyone. Coca-Cola is more expensive than other places, but since it's not alcohol, you're then forced to buy additional alcoholic beverages. The food isn't even that good. There are many delicious fried chicken places in Korea, so I highly recommend going elsewhere. Unacceptable Treatment of Foreigners There were foreigners at another table, and the owner kept claiming that the forced purchases and unfriendly service were "Korean style." I find this completely unacceptable. There are many more friendly and delicious chicken restaurants in Korea, so I sincerely hope that foreigners visiting Korea choose to go somewhere else.

We loved this Korean chicken spot. The chicken is double fried and so crunchy and delicious. Just a small place that if you blinked you miss it but not to be missed.

Some of these reviews are so strange... the food and service are great here! Local vibes, authentic mom and pop shop... no better chicken can be found in Seoul. We had 2 rounds of chicken and their snail noodle salad. Amazing food and kind-hearted people.

I have to say this could be literally the BEST fried chicken I had in Seoul. I just cannot forget how it tastes like and how fragrant and crispy it is. Very well hidden in a small street in Itaewon, this place should be visited early (like normal dinner hours) because I believe this place would be very packed when the people look for supper after their clubbing. Not a very big shop, probably can only take like 5-6 tables. Expect some waiting time because they really fry upon ordering. Although it's Seoul, its better you can understand Korean or get someone who can to help because the old couple cannot really speak English. The chili sauce is really the BOMB and I kept asking because it is just so good and addictive and it just keeps me going to finish the chicken. The plate of vegetables is also a very good complement with some mustard sauce. I never knew mustard sauce is such a good condiment with fried chicken until I visited South Korea. A bit on the negative side is that there is a minimum order. Minimum to order 1 plate of chicken with 1 alcohol and 1 soft drink. A bit of a disadvantage if you are a solo traveller like me but I finished everything! You can do a takeaway and you can just order the chicken alone but no matter where you are going to eat the chicken will not be as hot as eaten on the spot. This place was featured in one of the Netflix documentaries "Midnight Asia" and the prices of everything went up after. If you see the menu on the board it looks quite new and referring to older reviews it seems initially it was 15000 won but now 17000 won. There is also another dish which is the noodles but its really very big for 1 to finish. I saw a family of 4 ordering the chicken and the noodles together. Auntie was also a little grumpy when I kept asking for the chili sauce.

Very quick service and good menu. Be aware that the portions are quite large and one meal is more than enough for 2 people. I can Really recommend the triple chicken platter to get the full experience.

The boneless mix was incredible! The crunch was outwordly and the flavors were crazy good. The service was ok, not much interaction or speaking at all. The prices... a little expensive but it must be the area. We liked that there were mostly locals (although we were given a fork instead of chopsticks like the rest of costumers). The only downside it's that it was quite loud.

The food was exceptional. The ambience and the location added into it. A must visit place to try the boneless chicken delicacy. The frech wries and potato wedges were also good. Complimentary to the chicken. Pair it with a chilled Coke or your preference of drink. Exquisite!

We ordered the triple chicken platter ( original, sweet and spicy, garlic honey) so that there is variety. There is an option of boneless chicken too. The chicken meat is fragrant, flavourful and succulent. My favourite is the sweet and spicy chicken. They provide gloves. Waiting time is about 20-30 minutes. Service is okay.

I've rarely met a Korean Fried Chicken that I disliked and the chicken here was no exception. In fact, we found it absolutely delicious, that perfect combination of tender and crispy. We ordered the plate of three boneless chicken pieces, and I liked the honey garlic the best. And we ordered some tteokbokki to go with it, because we had to try tteokbokki in Seoul. The chicken was extra crispy and it's cheaper than the other chicken joints. It came pretty quick. It was really juicy even though the skin was real crispy. The 쌀떡튀김 was pretty good too. The beer on tap was ice cold when it came. There is a big screen t.v. so you can watch it while eating.

Cheap but nice chicken at that price.

They ask you only one question when you come in. How many chickens. There is no menu, there are no sides. Just gorgeous crispy succulent chicken stuffed with rice. It’s perfect. Yes you need to wait two hours. And once you see those chickens rotating and dripping on each other you can’t think of anything else. Put your name down and go for a couple of drinks nearby. Its worth it.

Chicken was great. I’d order the original. I mean it’s not dry, the skin is perfectly crispy, and it tastes better than most fried chicken. They give you two sauces, but the chicken tastes good on its on own or with just the rice. The rice inside is sticky, flavorful, and feels like a warm hug. It’s served hot within minutes of you sitting down. 100% would recommend this spot. It feels very local despite being so popular if that makes sense.

Very good roasted chicken cooked low and slow with what I believe is wood fire. The skin of the chicken was crispy and caramelised. The whole chicken was moist , even the chicken breast was moist. Inside the chicken was stuffed glutinous rice with ginseng , red dates and some herbs. Very very good. If you like samgeytang, I think you will enjoy this too. We only tried the original / traditional chicken as there were only two of us and we wanted a light dinner. We saw other tables eating other dishes and they did look very delicious. We waited for our table for 1 hour and I must say it’s worth the wait. Just leave your name / number on their waitlist and go for a walk around the area. You will be rewarded with a very good meal if you have patience.

I picked up a roasted chicken today to enjoy at home, and it turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever had. The skin was perfectly crisped, the meat juicy and full of flavor — truly a standout among all the roast chickens I’ve tried. What made it even better were the accompanying sauces and the 유자소금 (yuzu salt), which added a refreshing citrusy kick that paired beautifully with the savory chicken. It was such a satisfying meal, simple yet exceptional in taste. Definitely a repeat-worthy takeout!

Wanted to gatekeep this place but i don’t visit Seoul often so it’s fine. The roasted chicken here is 100/100 perfection.

The store specialise in their whole chicken. Most people seemed to share the food. A group of 4 women shared 2 chicken. A family of 3 (one young son) shared 1 chicken. Small seating area, max 20 people? We had to wait 30 minutes before our turn (we reached around 5pm on a weekday). Chicken was stuffed with some glutinous rice. Simply roasted, can pair with spice or salt to enhance the taste. It is within walking distance to a train station. Great place!

We visited Yeongyang Center Main in Myeongdong after it was recommended by a friend of my mother-in-law—and I’m so glad we took her advice. This place has been around for decades, and you can immediately feel the old-school charm when you walk in. It’s clearly loved by locals, and now we understand why. We ordered their signature rotisserie chicken, and it was seriously impressive. The skin was perfectly crisp, and the meat inside was incredibly juicy and tender. It had a clean, savory flavor that didn’t need much—just a dip in salt brought everything to life. We enjoyed it so much we were pulling the meat apart with our hands and couldn’t stop eating. The samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) was equally comforting, especially on a cool day. The broth was light but flavorful, and the chicken was stuffed with glutinous rice and chestnuts, making it a hearty and nourishing bowl. The restaurant was busy, but service was efficient and friendly. We were seated quickly and served without a long wait. There’s seating upstairs too, so it’s not hard to find a table even when it gets crowded. All in all, Yeongyang Center lived up to the recommendation. The food was delicious, and it felt like a very local experience. If you’re in Seoul and want to try classic Korean chicken dishes, this spot is a must.

2 levels of seating so there should be seats available even if the ground floor looks busy. There’s only a few items on the menu which basically are ginseng chicken soup or fried chicken. Service is efficient and quick. The place is run by a few elderly ladies and they are good at what they do. Pricing is decent for the quality of food.

Samgyetang (삼계탕) aka Korean ginseng chicken soup consists of a whole young chicken filled with garlic, rice, jujube, and ginseng. It’s a Korean traditional soup, considered good for health! This Samgyetang restaurant has a few branches around Seoul, but this Myeongdong location is the original branch! They serve only 2 menu: Samgyetang and fried chicken. I’ve come here several times and love to order both.

The roast chicken is a must try! Skin is super crispy, meat just literally falls off the bones. It's not flavoured so dip a little salt to taste. Ginseng chicken soup is also excellent! You know the food is good when the majority of customers are locals. The staff hardly speaks English but since the items are few, that's not much of a problem.

Customer service is good. Chicken soup is good too. Roast chicken is crispy but a little oily. I am a little hungry so didn't have time to take photo before meal.

I got a korean friend to ask if the food had gluten in it. The staff said no, but I ended up having a reaction. Definitely don't bother coming here if you have any dietary restrictions, the staff does not care.

The ginseng chicken soup was tasty and it was a hearty and warm meal after a long and cold day in Seoul! The soup wasn’t bland and I could taste the ginseng in the soup 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Definitely a must go place if you are in Myeongdong!!
