Hanchu in Seoul is a must-visit for an exceptional fried chicken experience. The minimal decor reflects their dedication to perfecting their craft. Their unique recipe includes grated chili in the batter, giving the chicken a delightful hint of spiciness. This spot not only offers renowned fried chicken but also provides a great hof (beer) experience. Located in trendy Apgujeong, it's an ideal post-shopping pitstop near Garosu-Gil.
A spot in Korea that serves incredible fried chicken and crispy stuffed chili peppers, all in a setting that truly captures the Korean atmosphere
Kkomiya P — Google review
The name stands for a good memory from the drinks. It became more popular after it was introduced from the famous TV program, Wednesday Food Talk (수요미식회, Suyomisikhoe) It is famous for fried chicken and fried chili peppers. I tried fried deep-fried Chicken Gizzards for the first time and it was very savory with good chewy texture. Han Chu Stir-fried Rice Cake is also the signature dish which I will try next time. There are a lot of people on weekends, so waiting can be long. But It's worth waiting and enjoying the young vibe.
Hyunje J — Google review
Cozy spot with delicious Korean comfort food and friendly service. The fried chicken is especially crispy and flavorful, and the portions are generous for the price. Perfect for casual dinners with friends or family.

Retro & Good vibes! Tteokbokki stir-fried Rice Cake was good but no so good. But they have great service and waiting system. I like their cool beer! Which is very fresh and so cool! I think all menus are not so good.

19 Dec 2023: Not a big restaurant, simple set-up and a local favorite place to chill over cold beer and fried chicken. Ordered Seasoned Chicken. Deep-Fried Vegetable and a Soup with soft tofu. Amazing soft and succulent fried chicken with crispy batter, sweet spicy sauce and it goes very well with our beer. Friendly service, reasonable prices and they also serve nice daikon radish and corn snacks served as appetizer
Richard S — Google review
Completely delicious fried chicken. The batter is mixed with some sort of herb that I really enjoyed. The chicken can be ordered plain or with spicy sauce. We got half and half. Both are really nice but I probably prefer it with the sauce. We didn't order the fried peppers because it would have been too much food but the couple next to us actually offered us one which completely made my day! Wow you have no idea how excited that made me. Sharing is so nice! yay! I can confidently confirm that the pork filled fried green peppers are also delicious. The people working here were friendly. But also, if you don't drink beer here you will HAVE to order at least one - we tried to order two alcohol free beers and the waitress only let us order one.... for us it was fine, but I can see how this would offend some people.

We had such an incredible food experience here. We tried classic and seasonal fried chicken. So yummi. Thanks to Si for his great host and chat ✨

Pretty good chicken place…chicken batter has some pepper for little spice. Another popular item is the fried pepper, did not try but will try next time. Place is well ventilated so you don’t smell like a deep fryer. Washroom is outside around the corner. Would come again.

Fried chicken takeaway
Two Two Fried Chicken is a popular 24-hour restaurant chain in South Korea known for its perfectly fried chicken. The menu features five types of chicken, including honey, signature soy garlic, red, fried, and with rice. Additionally, customers can enjoy potato wedges and side salads with their meal. The original flavor fried chicken is well-marinated with crackling-crispy skin on the outside and juicy tender meat on the inside.
Wow.. pretty good Korean chicken!!.. steps away from where we are staying, and passing this place everyday, that smell of fried chicken we had to try. No regrets, this is pretty good compared to what we have in Canada. Price is decent, not the cheapest but for the amount you get, it's great!! Friendly staff that speaks English, service was excellent as well!
Thanh H — Google review
Little shop, almost looks like it only does takeout. I am pretty sure I ordered the boneless x 2 chili pepper spicy chicken but when the server came, she was really rushing me and I may have pointed to the bone-in version. And then she took the menus and was gone like a tornado, the same way she arrived and rushed my order. It arrived and it’s bone-in and not at all spicy, but sweet. I called and politely said I had ordered boneless. A few minutes later, the same server asks me to come with her to the cash register, and shows me cctv footage of me ordering! Saying it shows I pointed to the bone-in spicy chicken (never mind it was sweet and not spicy so the wrong flavour). Without voice or zoom, I can’t tell for sure what I pointed at in the menu. The point is she rushed me in the first place. I was so baffled at the utter lack of customer service, I just paid and left. I felt furious and humiliated. Do not ever recommend this place, and the chicken was incredibly overpriced anyways. I thought it would be really good at that price, but it’s the lowest ranking of all the chicken places I have tried in S. Korea so far. Oh, and the whole are I was had a blowing air conditioner. It felt weird to move with all my side dishes and drinks, but it wasn’t good either.
Kat A — Google review
Food is okay not the best chicken dry , but…let’s talk about service, sucks!! I think was the owner last picture in the top right, so disrespectful fighting with us because we asked for another sauce mind you were trying to pay for it not to get it for free, but she got upset because it was the third chili soy sauce we asked for as customers we asked for whatever we want as we’re paying for after that inconvenience. The atmosphere feel weird we ended up paying and living to another place. This person is so rude and don’t know how to handle situations in a proper way. We’re also restaurants owners, this way of handling the situation was not right yelling to costumers WE DIDN’T WANT ANYTHING FOR FREE! If we were asking for food and beer every 30 minutes why would we want a chili for free ? Obviously no! Don’t worry with this treatment no want would return , you should learn from this and treat customers with respect no one is beyond someone. Thanks!

Possibly my favourite Korean Fried Chicken restaurant in Seoul. Located just next to Pacific Hotel and a small walk from my accomodation, Two Two Fried Chicken is a restaurant that I couldn't miss out on. Came with my family and we ordered 2 serves of boneless fried chicken and a few bottles of Kloud beer and were completely satisfied with what we got for what we normally pay back in Australia. Will certainly be back when I am next time in Seoul.

Nov 2023. We were back here again. Loved this outlet and the waitresses here could speak mandarin. We all agreed the spicy fried chicken was the better choice than the original and soy versions. We even tried the cold noodles accompanied with vegetables and snail.

still our favourite fried chicken. lean n tender. ambience abit dark so would be good if the place can be brighter
Adeline N — Google review
Now that I’ve been to a few Korean Fried Chicken places in Seoul, I can say with some perspective and confidence that Two Two Fried Chicken is really just ok, and not great. The sauces themselves were fine, but overall the chicken wasn’t incredible. I appreciated that they offered boneless wings for each of their sauces, and that they provided the little round corn snacks and daikon, but would recommend trying other places.
Matt B — Google review
Good restaurant thanks to its service and staff . Owing to what my Korean friend said, the fried chicken favour at this restaurant is not what he expected and that is also what I feel like. Maybe this light favour is suitable for foreigners but not for one who wants to try original Korean fried chicken and gourmets. Can try but I don't recommend it.

Fried chicken takeaway
Nene Chicken is a popular chicken takeaway in South Korea. The boxes resemble pizza boxes and the chicken is very good. It is recommended to try the Green Onion Chicken which is regular fried chicken topped with green onions.
This chicken restaurant also has rice burgers in menu. These burgers are cheap, around $3, and they satisfy the hunger of Korean students. These very famous rice burgers are fusion food that are containing the essence of Korean food culture with Korean side dishes for composition. If you are looking for cheap, delicious, and Korean cuisine, this restaurant is the answer.

(Translated by Google) I bought takeout and brought it to the hotel. The chicken was too dry and the sauce was not good. Because the hotel called on behalf of me, I had to choose this one. You don’t have to try. (Original) 買外帶到酒店,雞肉太乾,醬汁也不行。因為酒店代叫,只是得這一間選擇。可以不試。

(Translated by Google) Ate Nene fried chicken twice This time I ordered three flavors: original, spicy, and cheese. The spicy one is quite spicy and the chili sauce is very delicious😋 The cheese is the most recommended. The cheese powder is very dense and powerful. The original flavor is not that good, and the taste after dipping it into the sauce is just average. Nene's main sauces are cheese powder and hot sauce. On the contrary, the fried chicken itself is not very tasty and juicy. Compared with Qiao Cun, Qiao Cun fried chicken is quite good both in terms of its own taste and the flavor of the sauce.

Amazing Korean fried chicken a short walk from Sangsu station. Super crispy and juicy, nothing complicated, just fried to perfection. It's a very simple menu, don't be distracted by anything and go straight for their original chicken. Each dish is a full chicken in terms of 2 wings, 2 drumsticks, 2 breast pieces and a neck. You can halve a dish by picking the original and either soy sauce or spicy sweet sauce. But trust me, you'll likely want a full chicken to yourself, and make sure you try their original. Staff don't speak much English but super friendly! We got the tip on this place from a travel show. Highly recommend coming here for an affordable and super yummy fried chicken. There's not much else around the area, but it's worth coming here just for this. Note, even though signs outside say they open from 5pm to 2am, they do in fact open at 4pm to 1am.

Super crispy yet light and not all greasy. Small walk from our Airbnb but was well worth it.

Really good Korean fried chicken! Crispy on the outside, juicy inside and comes with a delicious sauce. Go there instead of restaurants in the touristy city center.

Good food and ambience. Local vibe with slight older atmosphere than Chiken franchises.

Very fresh chicken. The crust was just right. A great contender for my top fried chicken places. It can get busy, but not as busy as some more overrated places. Mainly locals here. I asked to get our portion half / half.

BB.Q Chicken Myeongdong Star is a popular fried chicken spot in Seoul, known for its tender and crispy chicken with a variety of flavorful sauces and powders. While it's a nationwide franchise, the location in Seogyu-gu has gained fame among K-Pop fans as it's operated by Infinite Sungyeol's parents. The half and half chicken option is recommended, offering both original fried chicken and secret sauce marinated chicken.
The food was nothing short of spectacular—each dish showcased incredible flavors and fresh ingredients, beautifully presented. [e.g., "The grilled drumsticks (can choose all drumsticks) was the best I’ve ever tasted!"] Beyond the cuisine, your staff truly made the evening memorable. The service was attentive, warm, and genuinely hospitable. It’s clear your team takes pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance was equally perfect—listening kpop music We always eat this restaurant when i come Korea every time.

The perfect spot for a meal after shopping in Myeongdong. The fried chicken is as delicious as it is beautiful—super crispy, flavorful, and served in a very Instagram-worthy way. Highly recommend for a quick, satisfying, and tasty treat!

Best place to have Korean Fried Chicken in Myeongdong ~ Ordered the half x half KFC ( Original & Red sauce ) Initially thought the Red Sauce Chicken is spicy but turn out is some sweet sauce. The KFC is juicy and crispy with every bite and Red sauce one taste good too. Only downside is the waiting time to get a table. Not sure why but that day was super crowded
Wee K — Google review
This Korean fried chicken restaurant in Myeongdong is a great choice. The chicken is delicious, perfectly crispy and juicy. A special mention goes to the portions, which are very generous for the price. Perfect for sharing with friends or if you're really hungry! A must-try for chimaek (chicken and beer) in the area.
Nam D — Google review
BBQ Chicken in Myeongdong is a mandatory stop for anyone seeking authentic Korean fried chicken (chimaek). While the entire menu is great, the undeniable star is the Golden Olive Chicken. It's fried to an exceptional, non-greasy crispness that seals in all the juicy flavor. For first-timers or those who want to try everything, the Triple Chicken Platter is an absolute must-try. It allows you to sample the legendary Golden Olive alongside other fantastic sauces like the Secret Sauced and Gangjeong, offering the perfect variety for sharing. For a smaller group of 3-4, order the half-and-half to pair the classic Golden Original with a flavored option like Soy Garlic or Secret Sauce. Its great location and a lively vibe make it an essential Seoul dining experience.

🍗✨ Korean Fried Chicken with Cheeseballs!!! The Korean fried chicken was everything you’d expect from a proper K-style fry—crispy, crunchy, and perfectly coated in a sticky glaze that hits all the right notes. The outside had that signature double-fried crisp, while the inside stayed juicy and flavorful. The cheeseballs were the perfect sidekick golden, soft, and filled with warm, stretchy cheese that melts the moment you bite in. Together, the combo was addictive: crunchy, saucy chicken paired with warm, cheesy bites. A fun, satisfying, and very Korean-style comfort food treat.
Thej V — Google review
OMG the GOLDEN OLIVE CHICKEN was to die for. I was really wanting to see what the hype was about Korean chicken and this place did not disappoint. I highly recommend and thank you for your wonderful hospitality and amazing food and beer. I will be back!

Puradak Chicken has gained recent popularity for its impeccable branding and luxurious theme. The fried chicken is packaged in cloth bags, adding to the upscale feel. Reviews attest to the high-quality taste of their offerings. Located near BHC Myeongdong, it's a great alternative to avoid long queues. Customers praise the crispy and juicy original chicken as well as the flavorful black garlic version, which comes coated in special soy sauce and crunchy garlic slices.
The best fried chicken I’ve got in my life. THE BEST. This place is perfect to come with a group so that you all can try different flavors. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside. My favorite is the garlic soy sauce one. COME HAVE SOME CHICKEN AND THANK ME LATER. P.S. I took only one picture because the chicken was gone after 5 mins it came to our table!

11 of us came trying authentic Korean fried chicken was right at the top of our must-do list and it did not disappoint! Unfortunately, the night we visited, it was raining. The outdoor seating setup wasn’t ideal for wet weather. Honestly, the restaurant should consider adding portable aluminum truck shelters they’re easy to set up and offer solid rain protection, which would definitely improve the dining experience on rainy days. Still, the food made up for it. The original fried chicken was served hot, crispy, and incredibly tasty hands down one of the best we’ve had. And of course, it paired perfectly with a cold, chilled beer. Totally worth braving the rain for!
Victor T — Google review
It was super busy in the area during dinner time, but luckily we got a table right away here. We order two best seller chickens and they tasted great. The skin was crispy and the meat was flavourful. Great chicken and beer meal!
Vivian — Google review
The spicy chicken and garlic shrimp dishes were quite enjoyable. The flavors were well-balanced, with the chicken delivering just the right amount of heat and the shrimp infused with a rich garlic taste. Both dishes had a nice texture, cooked just right to retain their juiciness without being overdone. However, a warning for those sensitive to spice: when they say "spicy," they mean it! The heat level is intense, so be prepared if you’re not used to really spicy food. Overall, a satisfying choice for anyone craving bold flavors with a real kick.
Ömer A — Google review
Eating freshly fried chicken on a warm summer day isn't ideal but the quality of the chicken more than makes up for it. Service was ok and the servers were prompt to asked if we wanted the English or Chinese menu.
SuanSiang Y — Google review
Chanced upon this fried chicken outlet while we were looking for BHC (which was long queue) at Myeongdong. Only the foreigner service staff were friendly and helpful. The older lady staff (could be the lady boss) and the younger staff might be having a bad day 🤷🏻‍♀️... Nearing the end of our meal (there were still food left) we requested for more the radish banchan and the older lady staff said "but you have no more food (left)" in Korean. We were shocked! The non-Korean service staff were on the other hand very nice and friendly.
Catherine W — Google review
Do not go to this store please. It is expensive and tasteless compared to other Puradak stores in Korea. It is expensive, but the amount of toppings is discriminated against. As a Korean, I was so sad to see tourists in the store. Please go eat somewhere else.

the staff cannot speak english. hard to speak. and language barrier. and keep forgeting to serve drinks and else. luckily we met nice person who sit next to use. even though he is a customer, he served us really well, he brought us plates, spoon, fork, and even give the water. the chicken is chewy and nice but it really smells garlic. spicy one is good.

Fried chicken was crispy and the sauce is great. Nice place to chilled out and nice atmosphere. It's not too crowded on a Tuesday night and the music is not too loud. I love that it is just minutes walk to the restaurant. We ordered orginal fried and sweet chilli chicken.we loved the fries skin too.

Its a beer and chicken thing and this place serves it quite nicely in a cozier setting. Our host prefer the Soju and beer combo drink with this particular brand. After preparing the shots (with a shot glass on top of another shot glass portioning) the eldest on the table gets the first drink. Then the chicken meal with shots begins. It a great combo which is offered all over the strip. Our booth seating offered a little privacy and we could carry a conversation quite nicely around here with no need to shout at one another.

The fried chicken is pretty good. Personally, I prefer more flavoring on the chicken but it was very crispy and a very good portion size. We loved how easy it was to order on the table tablet. It is required for every person to get a drink but we didn't need that many so we god a side instead and the workers didn't say anything. Loved how clean the place was and the atmosphere was very nice and a good change from the bustling streets outside.

Super yummy chicken! We ordered the garlic soy chicken and it was a little spicy but so good. One portion is good to share for 2. We arrived around 9pm and there were many seats available hence we didn’t have to wait. Toilet is small but very clean. Beers on tap and there is a self ordering system via the electronic system on each table. Lots of foreigners here but we saw a table of koreans too.

Excellent place for fried chicken. This was the first place we went to since it was close to the hotel. It’s upstairs above of the gs25. The inside is nice and clean and has a nice restroom. Ordering is easy with the tablet and has a few languages you can change it too. Chicken was juicy and very tasty. We got the half half original and yangnyeom. Lovely place. Would recommend a stop here if you’re in the area.

I went in to try the chicken as I had not yet had good Korean chicken on my trip. This was located on the second floor, and the staff were friendly and could speak English. The restaurant looked spacious and clean, and you could order by tablet across multiple languages. I got the garlic soy sauce chicken (with rice cakes), but sadly had to pack it up due to an upcoming meeting. The staff kindly oblidged. I had the chickn in my hotel room, and it was super tasty! I really loved it. Just enough spice too to make it even better. I will definitely go back!

The dishes portion is huge! We couldn’t finish one dish. Taste: great Price: reasonable considering the amount of food you get. Service: great but took some time to bring our order. Drinks were served immediately.

We came after the lunch rush, the restaurant was still busy. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Staff speak English and are super friendly! Would recommend the Soju Bomb! Staff pour it for you to ensure the correct ratio and comes with a beer tower that lights up! It is our first time in Korea eating Korean fried chicken and it has not disappointed! Would definitely come back.

BHC Chicken, short for "Better & Happier Choice," is a popular fried chicken and beer restaurant located near Chir Chir & NY Night Market. The restaurant offers great service and deliciously seasoned chicken pieces, with recommendations for the honey and garlic flavored chicken. Customers also praise the tasty mozzarella cheese balls. Visitors note that the taste at this BHC Chicken outlet stands out from others, even those using the same recipe.

Fried chicken takeaway
Kyochon Chicken Dongdaemun No. 1 is a popular fried chicken eatery in Seoul, known for serving freshly fried chicken with less batter and oil, making it a healthier choice. Endorsed by South Korean celebrity Lee Min Ho, the restaurant's chickens are free from antibiotics and growth hormones, offering guilt-free indulgence.
A classic Korean fried chicken spot that everyone loves. This is one of those places that you can help it to go back to a couple of times. We had the plane, the honey, the soy sauce, garlic and the hot chicken. The portions were large enough for four people as we ordered four portions. The beer came in a pitcher and it was a saving Grace to cool down our mouths. If you're getting the hot ones you better be able to handle it, otherwise don't bother. The chicken is super crispy and we loved it. Ordering is simple, just use the digital menu and choose English. If that's your language. Then you can also pay with credit card which makes everything pretty simple. They will add a charge for some sauce and pickles, not sure why but I did not want to argue with them as it was only a 14,000 won charge. Do keep in mind that you have to go to the third floor and you need to take the elevator or take the stairs. The sign isn't very big so make sure you get your directions and carefully search for the entrance to the building.

The food is great, and I love being able to order directly from the tablet on the table. It makes everything so efficient. Most importantly, the chicken is delicious and comes out hot and fresh. The chicken is fried perfectly and very tender and juicy. The garlic soy and honey are fantastic! This location has a great pub / hof atmosphere, great for hanging out. We came here at 8:45pm on Saturday and were able to easily get seated.

A late-night fried chicken shop. It's near Dongdaemun! Very easy to find! You can order at the self-service machine, and there are translations in Chinese, Korean and Japanese. and english. This fried chicken is the best in Korea! It's better than other places! I ordered the honey-flavored fried chicken, and the crust was super crispy! The meat was also very tender! I really liked it! The cheese balls were sweet and very delicious! I'll come again next time!
Zoey D — Google review
It was a very good experience. We chose the Plain Chicken and it leaves a little bit of spicy flavor afterwards, but it's just a little (I'm not so good with spicy and it was very ok for me). The chicken was succulent, very crunchy! It's a good amount for 2 people. We also tried the White Sauce and it was great. Really recommend.
Anne S — Google review
Kyochon is Kyochon — they usually deliver, and this branch was no exception. We had the half-and-half boneless honey and soy-garlic chicken, which arrived hot and crispy. The flavor was solid, though the meat could have been juicier (they use breast for the boneless version, so going for bone-in might be better). The egg bomb fried rice was tasty but on the smaller side, with a Japanese-style flavor. For drinks, the beers were fine: the Kyochon Ale felt a bit watery and lacked sparkle, while the IPA was classic but a touch too strong for my taste — more a matter of preference. The place itself seemed popular with both tourists and locals, creating a lively vibe. My only real complaint was the baby chair — it badly needed a deep clean. When we wiped it down, the tissues turned black, which wasn’t a great look.
Nik — Google review
Delightful dining experience! The restaurant offers a spacious and inviting atmosphere. The chicken dishes are delicious, with a wide variety of bold flavors to choose from. The side dishes are surprisingly tasty and complement the meal perfectly

I was not disappointed. The food was freshly prepared, and the chicken wings had crispy skin despite being coated in honey, while the meat inside was juicy and well-flavoured. I also found the price to be reasonable.

Awesome chicken! Tender and juicy in the inside and crispy and light on the outside. The batter was thin and not too thick and doughy. For 22,000 it’s quite a steal. The restaurant gets crowded quite fast. Was there at 4pm with only one other table occupied. By 430pm, the restaurant was half filled.

Great place to eat fried chicken. We got this place recommended by seoul locals and we haven't been disappointed. The place is a small restaurant with ca. 30 places. We had the standart fried chicken dish (chicken had bones). The chicken is seasoned very good and is really crunchy. We had one plate for two people wich was enough for us. By side we got some potato wedges wich were equally well seasoned and some kind of fruit or vegetable (i cant really tell) and a spicy asian style sauce. All in all a gret place to eat fried chicken.

Fried chicken here is usually served with potato wedges and olgaengi snails. You can pass on the snails, although they're quite good too. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy, and goes really well with the sauce. There's usually a line, so expect to wait here. There's no designated parking space, and the place is on a narrow hilltop, so plan your trip wisely.

Chicken shop
Kyochon chicken is a must-try when visiting Seoul, especially for late-night cravings. This popular spot gained global fame for its soy-garlic fried chicken, which was even featured in the NYTimes. The original and black sesame wings are crispy and flavorful, with the original being a favorite. While the spicy option provides a good kick, the garlic soy is just okay. The cheese-dusted chips and fries make for a uniquely delicious side dish.
Great fried chicken! The portion sizes are very big so you can easily share one portion between two for lunch. We tried the original chicken (my favourite) and the corn fried chicken. Both were really great and came quite quickly. You sit upstairs with a great view of the busy road below. Very chilled spot to sit for lunch.
Laura M — Google review
The shop focuses on fried chicken and has a modern, stylish interior. We came for dinner around 7:30 PM and were seated quickly. After ordering, we waited about 20 minutes without any food, so we had to remind the staff. When it arrived, the chicken was a little too oily for our taste, but the flavor itself was good. There’s a self-service bar with free popcorn and pickled radish, which was a nice touch while waiting.
Long N — Google review
Came at 1pm on a Thursday when the restaurant was completely empty - dozens of tables free. I just wanted some chicken, a beer, and to charge my phone while I ate and rested for an hour. I sat at a tall table near a power outlet but was told I couldn't with no reasonable explanation. With 50+ other empty tables, it felt absurdly inflexible. Staff showed zero awareness or flexibility at what was clearly an off peak time, so I went somewhere friendlier and more accommodating. Not the experience I've been used to in this wonderful city.
Alistair H — Google review
I dined in around 6:45 and got a seat immediately. Staff was nice and helpful to point me to the self service station for popcorn and water. I got the spicy fried chicken legs - a nice modest heat and sweet. It also has a very nice crunch with every bite. Beer is fresh and atmosphere is fun with friends
Tucker N — Google review
Out of the big chains (Kyochon, BHC, BBQ Chicken and NeNe Chicken) Kyochon is by far the best chicken quality. The coating is way thinner and crisper than the others and the sauces were really tasty too. Staff was really fast with the orders, I'm talking about 30 seconds until a new beer came to our table and everything was tasty and hot. The cheese balls are 3 levels above off what BHC is offering. The location is really big and gets quite noisy especially when the tables around you are full as well but that's it.
F. F — Google review
The food was good. The portions are very big even of the side dishes so be ware of that! It is a very noisy place so it might be difficult to understand one another when eating. We were with two people and the price really wasn't that expensive!
CAA S — Google review
One of the best fried chicken I've ever tried and I didn't expect to try it in a chain restaurant. In a very good location, comfortable shop. Very helpful staff. Don't forget to try it if you're in Korea. There are several establishments in many areas. The guy at the reception of the hostel we were staying at recommended it to us. It was my second time visiting Korea.
Peppy N — Google review
Worst service ever. This gentleman was angry towards us when we first came in and it seems like he was very irritated we had a stroller. He asked us to park the stroller outside but we took a few minutes to unload it. In the few minutes we took to do so, he abruptly told us everything was unavailable and asked us to leave despite there being other customers coming in. If you do not allow families with young children please state so clearly and if you hate your job so badly please consider a change in career sir

Sai Chicken is a popular spot known for its large portions and perfectly breaded, fragrantly seasoned chicken. The restaurant's sweet and spicy bean sprout salad is a standout, as are the double-battered fries that many claim to be some of the best in the city. With a cozy atmosphere and friendly service, this hole-in-the-wall eatery offers both original and boneless chicken options that keep customers coming back for more.
Great literal hole-in-the-wall fried chicken restaurant. Excellent chicken, the hot chips are great, too! The employees were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Fries were really fresh and seasoned well. Chicken was good but lacking some flavour. There's only one type of chicken on the menu and they'll give you some hot and sweet sauce. This is definitely a place that locals go to but it's a bit pricey for what you get.

Pelicana is a popular chicken restaurant with a rich history. Its sweet and sour sauce is the origin of Korean fried chicken, and it regularly introduces new menu items. Pelicana has locations in South Korea across 2,000+.
If you are looking for authentic Korean cuisine with chicken dishes in Seoul, this restaurant is an absolute recommendation! Cheap, super tasty dishes, friendly owners, everything freshly prepared! The longest journey is worth it! Limited seating and the entrance is a little bit difficult to find (enclosed a picture from the entrance and front). Check it out….

Korean fried chicken at it's best. Different flavors to choose from, look at the translated menu on my photo. One order is large good for 2-3 people! Waited 15-20min for our order. Large box of chicken comes with a box of shredded cabbage salad with mayo and red sauce, a small tray of pickled radish, 1 can of coca cola, and chopsticks. This is a couple of blocks away from Insa-dong culture street. Sitting inside is very limited, outdoor dining may be available there's plastic table and chairs outside. Owner is very kind.

Enjoyed the 80s/90s music. The staff / boss was friendly and we enjoyed the good service. We ordered the half and half (soy + snowing cheese) - very tender and delicious fried chicken. Chicken shop
BHC Chicken (Myeongdong Branch) is a beloved destination for fried chicken enthusiasts, especially those who are fans of Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun, whose endorsement has attracted many visitors. Open late into the night until 11 p.m., it’s an ideal spot for satisfying those late-night cravings. The menu boasts a variety of flavors, including their famous honey and spicy red chili wings, which are perfect for pairing with a cold beer from the self-service fridges.
With fried chicken shops lined up side by side, BHC clearly stands out as the most popular, with queues forming as early as 6pm. The chicken takes a little time to prepare, but it’s well worth the wait—hot, juicy, and coated with just the right amount of sauce or seasoning. The cheese balls made for a delightful companion to the fried chicken, indulgent yet perfectly balanced. And of course, pairing it with an ice-cold beer felt like a match made in heaven. For those who prefer to skip the long wait, the neighboring fried chicken brands are also worth trying—each offering their own take on the dish. One thing is certain: Koreans have truly perfected the art of fried chicken, elevating it to a remarkable standard.
Sebastian T — Google review
Good location and festive ambiance but a little overrated to have queues. Order bone in unless you want to get all the boneless breast part. Bbq chicken cheeseling tastes better than bhc cheese sprinkle. The sweet spicy dip is unique and good though, good for people who can’t take too much heat. The local beer makes the chicken better but i wish rice and salad were available too for seniors and families. Chicken tastes better than a 3 but did not meet very high expectations.
Diane A — Google review
Tried BHC Chicken in Myeongdong and loved the chicken with cheese - it was finger-licking good! The option to top up for just wings and drum was a great feature. However, the package promo set was a bit rigid, with no flexibility to top up or change flavors. Overall, the food was good, but would be even better if the menu options were more flexible. Maybe consider adding more customization options? 4/5 stars!

It's always a blessing to have a friend who speak Korean and helps get a table quicker and a good table on the first floor. We waited for 10 minutes and manager to shop at Olive & Young in 10 minutes too - crazy. We had to try fried chicken with Soju, since it was first time trying it no complaint, I loved it . The staff were helpful with our order but sad part was most of the dishes were sold out so no fries were available. Otherwise we were the last to leave. Important washroom is available just opposite the restaurant on the first floor- important thing.

Fried chicken spot in Myeongdong. Not bad but chicken doesn't have enough meat and too many bones. Flavor is okay. Fried when you order so that's a plus. Portions are too big though. Didn't have sides the day we came. Ordered the original and sweet and spicy but just one order is enough for party of three. Didn't know they brought out spicy and sweet sauce anyway so kind of wasted an order.
Bo L — Google review
Went early to take queue number for dinner as there’s always a lot of people. The fried chicken with cheese powder and the chicken with sauce both were so yummy. The cheese ball has to eat it while still warm as cheese will get harden. I love the fried tteokbokki, the sauce goes well with it.

2 of us waited outside BHC Myeongdong for just a few mins on a Sat night around 6pm, someone brought us upstairs to another floor for seated. The area is pretty small with less than 10 tables, no washroom there. Since 2 of us occupied a 4 seats table, so I have no complain on the space. We ordered half-half (original + sweet & spicy) bone-in chicken, with 2 coke. The original chicken tasted good, but not surprisingly delicious as per some YouTubers' comments. The sweet and spicy one is a bit spicy after taste though. The size of the food are good enough for 2 adults.

We came on a Friday night so there’s waiting time of about 10-15 mins. You can see it’s pretty popular among both locals and tourists. Ordered chicken, beer, and some sides. Wish they also serve rice lols. Love the chicken. So crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. Service is just a bit slow especially if you are seated at the second floor.

Dosiwaro is a Korean BBQ restaurant located in the heart of Myeongdong. The restaurant offers a variety of meats and vegetables that can be grilled without marinade or sauce, allowing diners to customize their meal. The ordering process is convenient, as guests can easily place their orders using a tablet at the table. The restaurant provides an array of extras to accompany the grilled items, such as lettuce leaves and kimchi.
A very delicious Korean style barbecue restaurant with good meat quality and extremely high cost-effectiveness! The most important thing is that the environment is very good and clean, located underground on the main streets of Myeongdong. It is big and new, very clean, and highly recommended. Chicken cake is my favorite. Every time I come, it's important to note that this is my second time here. A very pleasant dining environment, I will come back later, and the service attitude of the boss and employees is very nice. I had a pleasant meal 😁

A Fantastic BBQ Experience! We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic – fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Love their steam cheese egg! The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our meal. The place was also spotless, which added to the overall comfort of the dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great BBQ and excellent service!

Amazing korean bbq experience! They were super friendly and took care of us and helped us grill the meat perfectly. The prices are good as well and you get a lot for your money's worth. I would definitely recommend this place to people who want to try out korean bbq and are unsure on how to cook it themselves :)

Take a step off the main road and find some steps down to a basement level on the corner of the street. You will find a hidden gem here. It's a magnificent Korean BBQ restaurant. The staff are welcoming and seat you quickly. There are storage areas under your seat for your bags. There are many meat options including a large variety of pork and beef cuts and sets. The staff will provide you with continuous refills of sides and cook your meat to perfection. It is tasty, tender and sumptuous. No matter how you pair, combine and consume your dishes it tastes magnificent. Very tantalising to the tongue. Definitely worth a visit. You will need to set some time here to enjoy your meal. A wonderful experience!

Awesome Korean BBQ spot! The staff are extremely friendly and continuously checked up to ensure sides were re-filled and everything was okay. Also good bang for your buck as the portions are quite large and there are a good amount of options aside from the BBQ itself for those who enjoy that. Highly recommend!

City Grill – A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Seoul Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Seoul, City Grill is an absolute standout. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by an incredibly warm and attentive team who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Their hospitality alone sets the tone for what becomes a truly memorable dining experience. The food? Next level. Carnivores are in for a treat – the meats are cooked to perfection, rich in flavor, and clearly sourced with care. Pair them with their curated selection of local and international beers, and you've got a match made in foodie heaven. But what really makes City Grill a rare gem is its inclusivity. It's not often you find a grill house that caters just as thoughtfully to vegetarians. The plant-based options are creative, fresh, and far beyond the usual afterthought – a real testament to the chef’s passion for great food for everyone. Whether you're a Seoul local or just passing through, City Grill is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Warm service, standout food, and a menu that delights every diner – it’s a must-visit.

I had the 3 Kind Beef Set and Steamed Cheese Egg at this restaurant today. The food quality is excellent – the beef is fresh and flavorful, perfectly grilled to bring out the best taste and texture. The Steamed Cheese Egg is soft and delicious, adding a nice touch to the meal. The kimchi here is really tasty, and the wrap vegetables are fresh and crispy, making the experience even better. The staff is friendly and attentive, which creates a comfortable dining atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back here again!

BHC is a popular Korean fried chicken restaurant, known for its Sweet Garlic Soy Sauce Chicken. The atmosphere is lively and great for gatherings, with affordable alcohol and a modern, chill vibe. The staff may have limited English skills but are friendly and accommodating. Orders can be conveniently placed using an iPad at the table. The chicken is hot, fresh, and delicious with super crispy batter and juicy meat.
We were seated immediately upon arrival. They have English speaking staff and ordering system was very convenient. Chicken was good, crispy, and freshly cooked. The potato balls are amazing as well. Best to pair this with their beer! Visited this branch twice during our trip.

Nice wing spot, volume was way too much for one person. It wasn’t really wings, more like pieces of a normal sized chicken. Need cash, don’t accept cards for less than 50k Won.

I like it but I think I didn't order the right chicken. You want the one with chili's and garlic sprinkled on top. Good super cold beer on tap. The cheese balls are good but they are a little sweet like mochi. Ohhh, one order is enough for 2-3 people.

Kind staffs Reasonable price Fantastic chickens We went here for dinner with my fam, it was so nice vibe and food quality, we never find this chicken in Australia. I strongly recommend here for the family dinner.

Lots of seating, good service but the hot chicken was not spicy. All the rubs and spices we tried were more sweet than spicy.

FOREIGNERS BE CAREFUL! Pay with foreign cards will be charged 10% fees (luckily we had some cash to pay off part of the bill), absolutely ridiculous, we have been many other places in Korea that never asked a cent more because of this! Worst part was, nowhere in this restaurant including the menu, had mentioned it, so that’s very “cheap” on their side. On another note, the garlic chicken we ordered was very sweet, not to our taste but we respect if that’s how local food should be.

Difficult to communicate in English. I pointed to the left side of the menu that I want fried chicken, then the older waiter pointed at chicken fillet set which is right side of the page. Then I said I want chicken on the left side with fries, but I guess he couldn’t understand English and still served me chicken fillet which is not what I wanted. Didn’t enjoy the dinner. But will go back another time to try what I want.

Came here for a late lunch around 130pm and it was empty... Found out they just opened or where about to open. The store owner served us with a smile even though we gate crashed his opening. Ordered a sweet boneless chicken and spicy boneless chicken... Both were spicy... Both were great, wish we could of had some beer to wash it down. Loved the meal and will be back at night to have it with drinks to help wash down the spices.

The variety is extensive, Garlic Soy Chicken, Hot Snow Chicken, Old School Chicken, Kkanbu Kara (soy sauce aged at low temperate as sauce), Boneless Chicken with Tteokbokki, Spicy Soy Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Garlic Roast Chicken, Green Onion Chicken and Tender Sweet Chicken. Price range between 16,000 to 20,000 Won. We got the sweet and garlic and soy sauce and some fries, portions are generous

Do not go here as there are so many other better, kinder fried chicken places. Please don't say you were not warned: We were not served as other guests with those small turnip and green chip small plates you get. We spent 30,000 kwn on chicken/beer/cheese balls. I have no idea while tables before and after us were afforded those small little plates. There are many other fried chicken places who will treat all customers the same (go to the crazy chicken place a little further in, where we went other night and we were treated as other guests).

Fantastic selection of fried chicken and beer. Very popular with the local which is always a good sign. Portion is very generous, chicken and a sides can easily feed 2 adults. Most of the chicken has abit of spiciness so may not be as enjoyable for children who can’t take abit of heat (same or slightly spicier than KFC hot and spicy). Overall a great place to have good Korean chicken in a nice relaxing atmosphere (English menu available).

Reggae Chicken is a laid-back restaurant with a Caribbean vibe and reggae music. The menu features three chicken dishes, with the fried chicken spiced with curry being the standout. The restaurant offers a unique atmosphere, complete with Bob Marley tunes and an interior that reflects its reggae inspiration. Customers can enjoy generous portions of flavorful fried chicken and refreshing drinks in a relaxed setting.
The chicken was great but the standout was the fish and chips. The place is tiny, 5 small tables and the place is dimly lit with marley playing on the speakers.
Bong K — Google review
Fair taste of curry fried chicken it has as well as varying selection of cocktails and beer. With a full vibe of Jamaican Reggae, here you can find bottled Red Stripe, the famous Jamaican Lager. The place only has about 10 to 15 seats so you might have to wait or go check out the second branch next to Sangsu station. Curry sauce which goes well with properly cooked chicken is nice and quite unique, but I personally find too much hype among people.
Ali C — Google review
The chicken was delicious and the portions very generous, an order (17000 won) gives you a full chicken, fried. The draft beer was flowing and the atmosphere was also very chilled. We will likely try to return there before the end of our trip to try the curry chicken.

Pretty awesome laid back reggae themed bar with Korean fried chicken and cheap drinks. Try the yungarita, a berry flavored cocktail with tecquila that's not overly saccharine. The vibe is very 'downstairs basement ' chill and the food and drinks are great, but service is pretty slow. To note, they don't speak English but the menu has English translations. Also, the fried chicken is served with this plate of almost jicama like turnip with the most amazing flavor. I'd go back for that alone! Popcorn is free and pretty great too.
Noga S — Google review
We finally came to Reggae chicken and the inside is small and dark but the music is good and the vibe of the restaurant is really nice. We ordered the Bob Marley cocktail which was rum based and was a very refreshing drink like most good rum and cokes. We ordered the Reggae chicken original and the greens and fries. The chicken was nice and crispy and juicy which had been seasoned well and went well with the different sauces available to dip. The greens and fries were a mixture of regular fries, onion rings, fried okra and fried baby tomatoes which was an interesting addition. The food was good but not the best fried chicken available and would have liked the chicken batter to have some more extra flavour. The fries went well with the concept of fried chicken and fries that I enjoy. The jerk sauce was ok but the other white sauce went well with the chicken and fries. The waiting staff were really kind and helpful as well.

Right in the busy street of Myeondong along the stretch of food alleys. Of course we ordered for original fried chicken. The skin was so crispy and the meat was tender and tasty. It's not salty too. The portion was quite big for 2 pax. I would recommend 1 serving for 3 to 4pax sharing and you'll never go wrong with fried chicken + cold beer!!! The owner was very friendly and he also suggested us not to order too much knowing we were only 2. The staffs were warm to us despite of the busy atmosphere and many customers during peak hour. One of the few places that was still open and serving food at 22 o’clock in Myeong-dong. Also one of the few places where you can sit outside! Menu was great! Big variety and reasonable prices 👍🏼 We had two types of chicken, but one portion of chicken was missing rice cakes that were advertised in the menu. Also the amount of fries that was in the other portion was countable on one hand ✋ The portion of the chicken tho was generous! 🤩 Chicken also tasted really good, both are very soft in spice. Overall I would come here again tho! ❤️

Ordered the half spicy half non-spicy miso honey chicken, and the chili spread in the WHOLE dish because the separator was not straight/secure. Non-spicy side became spicy and I couldn’t eat it because I can’t take spice. When we told the staff, they didn’t care and they said we shouldn’t have ordered the dish if we couldn’t take spice (but the whole point was to have half half???). Poor experience, hope the staff can be more accommodating.

Having walked for a few hours, we got tired and went for 닭갈비 for dinner. I actually liked the taste but my husband preferred it to be more spicy. We agree that chicken menu is the best. Chicken is better than Squid. The service is of standard not super fast but not too slow either. There is a self-service side dish behind at the counter. Most customers here are tourists; the staffs can speak English so it's easy to communicate and make an order. Overall, I like this restaurant.

Terrible Experience at Yoogane - Avoid this Restaurant! During my recent trip to South Korea, I had the opportunity to dine at Yoogane, and I regret to say that it was far from a positive experience. The service at this restaurant left a lot to be desired, and my companions and I were thoroughly disappointed with our visit. From the moment we stepped inside, it was evident that the staff lacked the enthusiasm and dedication to provide a pleasant dining experience. Their attitude towards us was nothing short of disappointing, as they appeared disinterested in assisting with anything and failed to deliver the level of service one would expect from a reputable Korean restaurant. Our encounter with server 1, a female responsible for helping us to stir-fry the chicken, was particularly unsettling. Her deliberate flinging of the spatula, with a complete lack of regard for proper handling, left us with a sense of intentional provocation. Such behaviour is entirely unacceptable in any establishment, let alone one with a reputation to uphold. To make matters worse, server 2, another short-haired staff member, displayed a regrettable and scolding tone while helping us fry our rice. This behaviour created an uncomfortable atmosphere throughout our meal, and it was a stark departure from the professional conduct one would anticipate from the restaurant staff. We visited Yoogane on a Tuesday afternoon around 3 pm, and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Despite the lack of customers, the staff didn't seem interested in attending to anyone properly. I observed them being rude not only to us but also to other tourists sitting at the adjacent table. The staff talked loudly and even rolled her eyes when the tourists tried communicating with them. Witnessing this behaviour was extremely disheartening, as it was evident that the staff's unprofessionalism was a consistent issue. I strongly advise against visiting Yoogane based on my horrendous experience. The restaurant's terrible service and disrespectful staff ruined what should have been a pleasant dining experience. As a tourist trying to enjoy the local cuisine, encountering such rudeness was truly disappointing. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in South Korea that offer delicious food and exceptional service, so do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

Great service. Our young waitress spoke excellent English and was very attentive. Food was cheap and good. Free flow of pickles, bean sprouts soup and cabbage.

Poor attitude of the staff. We are five person go for this restaurant. They did not arrange sit together even split to two table also not near, it's far away. One of us are vegetarian, we want to order cold noodles and steam egg, the female staff say cannot one table must order one meat dalgalbi. When the meat dalgalbi come, It just simply stir it then go away, let the customer stir ourselves. After the staff come back, just simply stir it then switch off tha gas. When we taste it, the meat undercooked, chicken still have blood. Not recommend for this restaurant.
Siew C — Google review
This is a popular dakgalbi chain restaurant and it is very catered for tourists since it is located in myeongdong, did not see any locals here. The menu has english and photos, so it's really easy to order, adding the fried rice at the end is highly recommended because it's just so good when they fry the rice in front of you. The flavor is very appetizing and addictive, you can pick the menu with cheese if you like that, but it's quite filling.

Restaurant
Nestled in the upscale Cheongdam-dong district of Seoul, Jungsik stands out as a beacon of modern Korean cuisine. Under the creative vision of Chef Yim Jungsik, this Michelin-starred restaurant redefines traditional flavors with an artistic flair, offering diners a unique tasting experience. The menu features innovative dishes like sea urchin bibimbap and Korean beef tartare, all served in an elegant setting that enhances the culinary journey.
We had their lunch course and it was a delightful experience. Korean ingredients were prepared in different methods than in traditional Korean way, resulting in interesting flavor and texture profiles. Our favorite dish was their signature Kimbap, which wasn’t part of their set menu. The staff was mindful of the fact that we didn’t eat pork, they were able to quickly offer a couple of alternative options. We were seated in their private dining room because the main dining hall was full. The room was dull, dark and barely decorated. The service was professional, although it was sometimes hard to understand their description of dishes. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

We had looked forward to dining at Jungsik in Seoul with high expectations. We had been to their NYC location, which recently earned a third Michelin star. We made a reservation for our larger party, which meant that we would be dining in one of their private dining rooms instead of their beautiful main dining room. Prior to the date, the reservation team communicated with us via email regarding menu selections and the seating chart so everything would be prepared prior to our arrival. They were mindful that we had one person with a nuts allergy and were very careful to recommend nuts free options. The final seating arrangement, however, was different from what I had specified. It didn't detract from our experience but it was just strange that they asked me to fill out a seating chart and then the table seating was different from what I had detailed. A very nice touch was that we each received a printed menu specific to each individual along with the person's name on it. The food was very good in general and well worth the price. A few of the dishes bordered excellent and they all had high quality ingredients. The gimbab, fish, duck and the desserts were among our favorites. Each dish was beautifully presented and well cooked. The desserts were great, not too sweet and visually stunning. Where the two Michelin restaurant fell short was in their service and facilities. There was very little interaction between us and the wait staff. They were very quiet, probably due to the language barrier. We saw very little of them except for when food was served and water glasses needed to be filled. They did not seem comfortable and always hurried off. I do have to mention the conditions of the restrooms which, for a 2 Michelin star restaurant, was unacceptable. The floor in most of them were wet in places throughout the entire 3 hours of our dinner. We all made similar negative comments about the restrooms. It's unusual for a fine dining establishment to not have staff spruce up the restrooms periodically. Overall, we did thoroughly enjoy the food but found the service and facilities lacking.

During our visit to Seoul, we decided to visit Jungsik. Visiting this restaurant was an amazing experience. We had a reservation for a private room which is a better option than a dining room because of the greater silence. The dishes served in this restaurant are perfect, dinner starts with Amuse bouche which is served in an innovative style. Next are delicious appetizers and a main course to choose from two, then the last course and desserts, one of which is served in the shape of a statue. To sum up, dinner at Jungsik is an experience of the Lifetime presenting the most delicious dishes of Korean cuisine in an innovative and modern way. The most delicious dishes were abalone, gimbap, duck, statue and amuse bouche. I highly recommend Jungsik and I hope they will get the coveted third Michelin star just like their second place in New York

A refreshing and tasty take on Korean cuisine I was excited to snag a reservation for lunch at the Seoul location. Figure it was a good opportunity, especially since the Seoul location is slightly cheaper than the restaurant in NYC. The decor is sleek and modern. The service is excellent as you would expect, and they provided explanations of each dish in both Korean and English. We came here to celebrate a family birthday and they threw in a bonus birthday seaweed soup which was a smart touch. My overall take on this place is that it is a refreshing twist on familiar classics. Unlike some other fine dining restaurants, every dish was also incredibly tasty. The perfect audience for any lover of classic Korean cuisine. The portions were perfect and we left fully satisfied. Banchan - A great way to kick off the meal. Banchan is spirit but not taste. 4 small dishes meant to be eaten in progression. A light broth. Silken tofu in a perilla oil glaze. Beef tartare. The final bite was a true delight - foie grois that is lightly sweeten served with a thin slice of pear and a light jelly. The sweetness made it almost dessert like and refreshing? So good Pine Mushroom Muguk - A mix of mushrooms and a dumpling in a light broth. Nothing crazy but a light refreshing dish. Also my first time having lion's mane mushroom? Really liked it Abalone - I had actually eaten a ton of abalone the few days prior, but I did not mind Jungsik's take. They smoked it and it ended up almost tasting like steak? Incredibly meaty which removed a lot of the fishy take. So cool. Paired well with the butter sauce and mint oil. Miyeok Guk - Complimentary birthday soup. They actually charred the rice and it ended up tasting like paella. It was an exciting twist on a classic. Gimbap - This cost extra, but I could resist this supposed signature dish. A lightly battered and fried seaweed cigar stuffed with rice, bulgogi, and truffle. Served with a truffle sauce. It was a blast of umami and crispy. Def worth the cost if you have room in your belly. Okdom - A perfectly seared and flakey white fish. Served with a light anchovy broth and barley rice. Duck - The main course. Perfectly tender with a crisp skin. Served with several woody accouterments, including a roasted chestnut and lotus root. Suljigemi - A light sorbet made from the byproduct of makgeolli. Palette cleanser. Dulharebung - The classic jeju stone grandpa but made of spongecake and matcha ice cream. It looked like a piece of art. NY-Seoul - Inspired by elements from both cities.A mixture of pecan based bites with ice cream. Yummy. Sweet Potato - An ice cream shaped like a sweet potato on a bed of breadcrumbs made to look like soil. Served with your choice of tea or coffee.

Dined here for lunch on 7/6 when I was vacationing in Seoul and had a fabulous experience - might even be my favorite fine dining restaurant, up there with Kato and Providence (both similarly ranked Michelin star restaurants in Los Angeles) but way better value. My boyfriend and I thought every course - from appetizers to palette cleansers to the entrees - was a hit. They were the perfect blend of traditional Korean food with Western influences. We did not get any of the special add-ons since we tend to get really full at the end of a meal. We both got the duck entree, which was the best duck we've ever had. We got one of each dessert so we could try both, which were exactly what we wanted - not too sweet, heavy, or filling but very very delicious. I LOVED the dol hareubang dessert; the concept was an homage to Korea's Jeju Island, and the best part was that the dessert tasted even better than it looked. I'm not big on taking photos during meals and would rather focus on the experience, but I did snap a photo of this dessert :) The service was excellent; everyone was so attentive and friendly. The people dining seemed to mostly be Korean citizens of varying ages (late 20s thru the early 70s), as well as a few foreigners from the US, Japan, and China. In terms of value, the whole lunch came out to ~470,000 KRW for the two of us; the tasting menu for lunch was 200,000 KRW/person and we shared a bottle of wine. This equates to ~$339 USD total. (The dinner menu is 300,000 KRW/person.) Definitely excellent value compared to similar fine dining restaurants in the US. I hope to take my parents here during a future family trip to Korea.

I’ve been to many Michelin restaurants and Jungsik restaurant it definitely on the top of the list! Fried chicken takeaway
Kyochon Chicken is renowned for serving some of the best Korean Fried Chicken in South Korea. It has gained popularity, with some even referring to it as the "Lee Min Ho fried chicken" due to the actor's ambassadorship for the brand. Despite mixed reviews about its service, customers rave about the delicious and juicy fried chicken, perfectly marinated and cooked to perfection. The spicy variant is particularly praised for its authentic heat.
I recently tried the honey-style fried chicken, and it was fantastic! For about USD $15, the generous portion easily serves three. The chicken was incredibly crispy, with a perfect golden coating, and the honey glaze added just the right sweetness. Unlike fast food chains, this fried chicken was juicy and packed with flavor. It’s hands down the best I’ve had! must-try!!!!!!!!

I visited this place for an early dinner with five friends on a weekday. Even though there were plenty of staff, our food took around 30 minutes to come out. The chicken was really tasty, especially the red sauce! The place was a bit loud, so I just ate quickly and headed out.
Trân — Google review
The Kyojun Chicken here is completely different from what I’ve had in Malaysia. The outer layer is incredibly crispy, while the inside remains juicy and tender. We ordered two flavors: the original honey and the spicy version. Personally, I preferred the original honey flavor because it didn’t have too much sauce coating the crispy skin, which kept the texture perfectly crunchy. As for the spicy flavor, since I can’t handle too much heat, it was a bit too spicy for me, but those who enjoy spicy food might love it. The Must-Try: Their Signature Beer We also ordered their signature beer, and I have to say—it’s absolutely worth trying. The beer has a beautiful malt aroma, and in the final aftertaste, there’s a subtle sweetness that lingers on your palate. Pairing their beer with fried chicken is simply perfection. Important Note for Foreign Visitors There was a small unexpected situation during our visit. Perhaps because we are foreigners, we were asked to present our passports when ordering beer to verify our age. So if you’re visiting from another country, remember to bring your passport in case they request it when ordering alcohol. Overall, crispy, juicy fried chicken + great beer = an unbeatable combo. Definitely worth a visit!

Kyochon Fried Chicken is a Korean specialty. During this stay in Hongdae, I visited this restaurant and ordered the original fried chicken from their founding days. The chicken pieces were still very crispy and paired perfectly with beer. However, it didn’t feel as delicious as the Myeongdong branch, but I still recommend it.

the chicken is incredibly crispy but the service is not flexible. We are tourist and we did shopping a lot so we had many bags. Since we are two people and the waiteist can only assigned two seats to me and there is no basket. So the only way is put all the things on the floor or don't dine in.

The smell of fried chicken fills your mouth with the marinade of garlic, onions, and soy sauce as soon as you bite into it. The skin of the fried chicken is very crispy, which makes people want to taste it again and again. However, some parts of fried chicken, such as chicken breasts and parts with less fat, are It's fried all over again, so it tastes a bit dry, but because the marinade is so powerful, I think it's still worth a try.

Went there around June. We ordered one plate togo( to try). They didn’t let us wait inside. The restaurant wasn’t even busy at all….. they used a cell phone translator to communicate with us, used simplified Chinese ….. If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable dining experience in Seoul, look no further than Mingles. Nestled in the vibrant Cheongdam-dong district, this modern fine dining establishment beautifully blends traditional Korean flavors with contemporary culinary techniques. Under the expert guidance of Chef Kang Mingoo, who has honed his skills at renowned places like Nobu, Mingles showcases seasonal ingredients and innovative fermentation methods to create dishes that are both rooted in Korean heritage and refreshingly cosmopolitan.
Great experience, food, and service. Outstanding staff. Thank you very much. The price is also very reasonable for the amount of food. They have a vegetarian menu as well. They also have lots of traditional Korean wine along with European

The food and service were both perfect. What impressed me most was the thoughtful touch of providing hand towels in the restroom — a small detail that reflects the owner’s care for the environment. The combination of great flavors, attentive service, and environmental mindfulness makes me look forward to coming back.

All I can say is amazing and they truly deserve the 3 stars. You could truly appreciate the seasonal summer ingredients of Korea presented in a 12 course meal. So many components, techniques and flavors involved all executed to perfection. The pairing I got which included the introduction of different Korean Liquors to pair with the course which was an eye opener. The service was truly professional, from introducing the courses to serving the food it was truly a superb gastronomic experience from head to toe

For my wife’s birthday on August 9th, we had the chance to dine at Mingles, a Michelin 3-star restaurant in Seoul. Getting a reservation wasn’t easy, but once we stepped inside, I immediately understood why it’s so highly praised. The atmosphere was calm yet refined, and the service struck a perfect balance between attentive and comfortable. Every course was carefully curated, combining traditional Korean ingredients with a modern, creative touch. It really made me think, “So this is what Michelin 3 stars feel like.” 🍷 Wine Pairings • Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly 2021 (Domaine de Montille) Elegant and refreshing. It paired beautifully with the starters and seafood, instantly brightening the mood of the dinner. • Gevrey-Chambertin Sélection 2021 (Marchand-Tawse) A deep, expressive Pinot Noir with real presence. It matched the main course perfectly, smooth yet powerful. Overall, the food, service, wine, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations. Most importantly, my wife loved every moment, which made the evening truly unforgettable. For a special occasion, I don’t think there’s a better place than Mingles.

It was the ultimate gastronomic experience. The cauliflower with sea urchin was, without a doubt, the best bite I’ve ever had. The beef tartare was also the best I’ve tried. I was disappointed that the crab risotto wasn’t available, and the grilled shrimp was more ordinary than expected.

This is the best Michelin Star Restaurant I have tried. Chef Kang is re-inventing Korean cuisine. The food was unreal. From surprise to surprise, Chef Kang really takes it to another level with his Mingling Pot and Risotto - both best ever I have eaten. The bimbim bap and Jang Trio were heavenly prepared. The wine pairing was on point and the service was beyond stellar. I had the chance to converse briefly with Chef Kang and manager / sommelier Lee who were both personable and charismatic. Thank you Chef Kang and Mingles Team. Until my next dinner. 2nd visit: the first visit was hard to beat but this dinner came by a little peak higher. Special appreciation to Hyeon J Lee for the attention to details. Thank you again the team at Mingles.

Dak-galbi restaurant
Shin Migyeong Hongdae Dakgalbi is a popular dish that originated in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province in the late 1960s. It was created as an affordable alternative to grilled meats and quickly gained popularity, leading to the establishment of dakgalbi restaurants throughout the city. The dish consists of marinated spicy chicken stir-fried with gochujang, tteok (rice cakes), cabbage, sweet potato, and onions.
It war our first time experiencing dakgalbi and choosing this restaurant was the best choice we've ever made. They have only one menu, while offering up to 4 levels of spiciness to fit all tastes. The staff is really kind, helpful and they speak really good English! We wish to come back once more!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to say something about the fried rice at this place — it was *phenomenal*. Perfectly cooked rice with just the right amount of seasoning, and every bite was packed with flavor. You could tell it was made fresh, with high-quality ingredients and real attention to detail. It wasn’t greasy or overly salty like some places — just perfectly balanced and absolutely satisfying. Whether you're just stopping in for a quick bite or sitting down for a full meal, do yourself a favor and order the fried rice. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommen
Hannah P — Google review
Easily one of the best dakgalbi experiences I’ve ever had. The flavor was deep and perfectly balanced: spicy, smoky, and rich without being overwhelming. The chicken was tender and juicy, cooks right in front of you with ramen, rice cakes, and just the right amount of sauce. The staff were friendly and knew exactly when to step in to help stir or adjust the heat. Everything felt perfectly timed so the texture stayed consistent and nothing overcooked. The cheese add-on was a creamy, stretchy, and it tied the whole dish together. The portion size was huge for the price, easily shareable but hard to stop eating once you start. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic, full of that warm energy that makes Korean dining so fun. By the end, we had perfectly crispy bits of fried rice at the bottom that everyone fought over. If you’re in Hongdae and want authentic, flavorful dakgalbi that leaves you full and happy, Shin Mi Kyung is absolutely worth it.

Nekkid Wings is a popular spot known for its casual and laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect place to hang out with friends. The menu boasts a variety of flavors, from classic American buffalo wings to unique Korean-inspired options like soy garlic and spicy gochujang. They offer loaded platters of juicy yet crispy fried wings in over a dozen flavors, including Amazinger, honey butter, and jerk.
I have been here at least three times since I was first introduced to it. I have brought friends who were visiting here because these are the best wings I have ever had. The cajun dry rub is the reigning flavor for me although I think I’ve tried every flavor with my friends and genuinely they are all so good. I never really liked chicken wings until I went here. I would 100% recommend this spot!

Kkanbu Chicken Samseong is a part of a quality chain known for its friendly service and warm atmosphere. Located near COEX Mall and Samseong Metro Station, it's a great spot to unwind after exploring Seoul. The restaurant offers delicious fried chicken with crispy, flavorful skin and tender meat, making it a must-try for visitors looking to experience the Korean tradition of chimaek (fried chicken and beer). Locals recommend pairing the chicken with beer for an authentic experience.
This is part of a chain. But its quality is still very good. The service is friendly and warm. It is a good place to hang out with friends and also to relax after a day of sightseeing in Seoul. We came here after a day of shopping. The food was GREAT! We had the Cajun fries and crunchy chicken wings. The fries were so good we had to get a second order. The chicken was also great, crunchy yet sooo juicy with perfect seasoning. To drink we had an ale Jeju beer. The service was ok, we got to the restaurant before two other tables but we got our order taken last guessing it was because we aren’t Korean. We weren’t paid much attention to unless we rang our service bell. We didn’t even get offered water until we asked for it. So in summary good food but not so good service.

Part of korean experience when in Seoul is to try “chimaek” i.e. a pairing of friend chicken and beer. Kkanbu is one of many specialized restaurant chains. We really enjoyed the fried chicken. Fast food restaurant
KFC, a renowned fast food chain recognized for its signature fried chicken served in buckets, alongside combo meals and various side dishes. However, upon observation, there were unsettling findings regarding the cleanliness of the upstairs dining area. The presence of garbage and food scraps scattered across tables, chairs, floors, and even stairs was quite alarming. The service quality also left much to be desired as an indifferent staff member appeared disinterested in their duties.
Oh, that bulgogi burger was amazing! When I took a bite, the flavor and sauce of the meat harmonized in my mouth, and it was so delicious. I was really happy to eat it again after 7 months. And the coke next to it cleans my mouth. It was so nice. The time I spent with you for lunch together after a long time was so precious. This restaurant felt like I was in my hometown. The bulgogi burger really reminded me of the taste of my hometown, and the time we spent together will be such a precious memory. I think such a fun time gives small happiness to our daily lives. If we visit together next time, we will be able to have such a precious time again.

We were a bit shocked to see the upstairs dining environment being dirty and messy, there were rubbish and food scraps on the table, chair and floor even on the stairs basically everywhere... The service definitely needed improvement, she looks like she didn't care about a single thing and was standing there doing nothing, I was waiting for my food for a long time and yet she stands there doing nothing... Overall the fried chicken was good but the fries was overcooked and some sides taste terrible. Def need more improvement with service and dining environment..

OPPADAK(Myeongdong Branch) is a Korean fried chicken restaurant that offers a set with either garlic teriyaki sauce or original flavored sauce. They also provide various chicken options to create your own dish and offer free pickles as an extra treat. The restaurant serves oven-baked chicken at high temperatures to keep it crispy outside and juicy inside, offering a healthier version of the dish.
I think about the roast chicken with spring onion all the time. It was my favourite meal in Seoul and maybe my favourite meal ever. I often look at flights to Seoul just so that I can return and eat this lovely chicken.

I ordered take out as I stay up this building. Tasted so so but the portion was huge....I think all the chicken tasted the same

Have tried many fried chicken restaurants in seoul...and oppadak is always my favorite ! The menu offered a delightful choice between baked and fried chicken, both promising a burst of flavors. The baked chicken, coated in a savory blend of herbs and spices, was a standout. The tender meat practically melted in my mouth, and the seasoning had a wonderful depth that left me craving more. On the other hand, the fried chicken boasted a perfect crunch with a tantalizingly crispy exterior. The juicy meat inside retained its moisture, making for an indulgent treat. Each bite was an explosion of taste. You can simply taste authentic Korean flavors whether dine in or take out.

Good chicken and cheap beer, what more can you ask for?

Very busy restaurant, was able to order half a portion of oven baked bones thighs. Which as a solo person was great. The fries were super crispy and delicious almost better than the chicken.

The good place to enjoy chicken menu in Myeongdong. Oppadak fried chicken restaurant, they served widely of chicken menu. This place is famous for their oven baked chicken, which is really a unique dish. The oven baked chicken very crusty from outside and in the inside is tender and juicy, baked chicken is amazingly tasty. The roasted chicken also really nice very delicious and strong in flavor, I preferred the roasted chicken is more than baked chicken because is much more in flavor.

We ordered their duo baked and roasted garlic chicken for take away. We waited a little bit because its crowded and its not dissappointing. The chicken is juicy and tender. I love their original crispy chicken. Paired it with the pickles and its perfect!

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience here. We went tonight and ordered the half and half chicken (original and garlic). The waitress gave us our chicken but little did we know it was wrong - we were given original and spicy. We told the waitress it was the wrong one and we couldn't eat it because it was really spicy so she took it away. After 5 mins she came back and said she couldn't change it because we ate it already... We weren't able to tell it was garlic or not by just looking at it?! I asked to speak to her manager and the guy at the cash register comes and just picks up the chicken and walks away without even speaking to us. We told the waitress to not worry about it and offered to pay for half the dish even thought we only had like 2 pieces.... In terms of the 'baked' chicken, it was not crunchy and the meat was slightly dry. BHC is much better and worth the wait. Do not expect fried chicken here.

Eongteoli Fried Chicken is a popular spot that has attracted celebrities for its original fried chicken dish. The restaurant's unique style sets it apart from typical Korean or American fried chicken, offering a crunchy and juicy experience. While the coating may not be very flavorful, the sweet and spicy dipping sauce complements the dish well. Despite being a mom-and-pop shop without fancy decor, the friendly owners and late operating hours make it a hidden gem worth visiting.
Classic diner that specialises in fried chicken. Easily the crispiest, juiciest chicken that I’ve had in Seoul and possibly Korea. Uncle and auntie are kind and unassuming. There is a minimum 1 drink order per person but what is Chimaek without beer anyway.
Talia T — Google review
Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The one caveat is you will have to purchase beer regardless of if you want to or not (non issue for me). A whole chicken for 2 ppl was actually fine (the individual pieces run small). Warning: the first bite into the fresh, piping hot triple-fried chicken may cause a momentary black out.
Esteban L — Google review
If you're searching for authentic Korean fried chicken, you found it. If you're looking for a classic mom n pop shop with no fuzz (at all), you found it. The sound of the crisp from the chicken still lingers in my ear as I'm typing this. The fried chicken was so crispy and so fresh. Paired with a mug of Cass, I can go home happy. Best of health to aunt and unc

The best fried chicken I’ve ever had - have eaten twice in two days! Simple and masterfully triple cooked for the crispiest chicken ever! Super tasty and perfect with the straight beer here. Would recommend to anyone visiting Seoul what a hidden gem ❤️
James L — Google review
Unpleasant Experience and Forced Purchases This restaurant was incredibly unfriendly and unclean. The owner forcibly sells alcohol and gets angry if your order doesn't match the number of people in your party. Even if there are minors who can't drink beer, you're still forced to order beer for everyone. Coca-Cola is more expensive than other places, but since it's not alcohol, you're then forced to buy additional alcoholic beverages. The food isn't even that good. There are many delicious fried chicken places in Korea, so I highly recommend going elsewhere. Unacceptable Treatment of Foreigners There were foreigners at another table, and the owner kept claiming that the forced purchases and unfriendly service were "Korean style." I find this completely unacceptable. There are many more friendly and delicious chicken restaurants in Korea, so I sincerely hope that foreigners visiting Korea choose to go somewhere else.

We loved this Korean chicken spot. The chicken is double fried and so crunchy and delicious. Just a small place that if you blinked you miss it but not to be missed.

Some of these reviews are so strange... the food and service are great here! Local vibes, authentic mom and pop shop... no better chicken can be found in Seoul. We had 2 rounds of chicken and their snail noodle salad. Amazing food and kind-hearted people.
Austin G — Google review
I have to say this could be literally the BEST fried chicken I had in Seoul. I just cannot forget how it tastes like and how fragrant and crispy it is. Very well hidden in a small street in Itaewon, this place should be visited early (like normal dinner hours) because I believe this place would be very packed when the people look for supper after their clubbing. Not a very big shop, probably can only take like 5-6 tables. Expect some waiting time because they really fry upon ordering. Although it's Seoul, its better you can understand Korean or get someone who can to help because the old couple cannot really speak English. The chili sauce is really the BOMB and I kept asking because it is just so good and addictive and it just keeps me going to finish the chicken. The plate of vegetables is also a very good complement with some mustard sauce. I never knew mustard sauce is such a good condiment with fried chicken until I visited South Korea. A bit on the negative side is that there is a minimum order. Minimum to order 1 plate of chicken with 1 alcohol and 1 soft drink. A bit of a disadvantage if you are a solo traveller like me but I finished everything! You can do a takeaway and you can just order the chicken alone but no matter where you are going to eat the chicken will not be as hot as eaten on the spot. This place was featured in one of the Netflix documentaries "Midnight Asia" and the prices of everything went up after. If you see the menu on the board it looks quite new and referring to older reviews it seems initially it was 15000 won but now 17000 won. There is also another dish which is the noodles but its really very big for 1 to finish. I saw a family of 4 ordering the chicken and the noodles together. Auntie was also a little grumpy when I kept asking for the chili sauce.

Chicken Baengi is a popular spot known for its classic-style fried chicken, particularly the boneless fried chicken thighs served in a sweet peanut sauce with shredded leeks. The menu also features sea snail noodle salad as an unexpected pairing with the fried chicken. Customers can opt for a triple chicken platter to sample different flavors such as original, sweet and spicy, and garlic honey. The fragrant and succulent chicken is a favorite among patrons, especially the sweet and spicy variety.
Nice location. Enjoyed the local Cass beer. Loved the half and half. Garlic and spicy, really enjoyed this authentic experience of KFC.

Very quick service and good menu. Be aware that the portions are quite large and one meal is more than enough for 2 people. I can Really recommend the triple chicken platter to get the full experience.

The boneless mix was incredible! The crunch was outwordly and the flavors were crazy good. The service was ok, not much interaction or speaking at all. The prices... a little expensive but it must be the area. We liked that there were mostly locals (although we were given a fork instead of chopsticks like the rest of costumers). The only downside it's that it was quite loud.

The food was exceptional. The ambience and the location added into it. A must visit place to try the boneless chicken delicacy. The frech wries and potato wedges were also good. Complimentary to the chicken. Pair it with a chilled Coke or your preference of drink. Exquisite!

We ordered the triple chicken platter ( original, sweet and spicy, garlic honey) so that there is variety. There is an option of boneless chicken too. The chicken meat is fragrant, flavourful and succulent. My favourite is the sweet and spicy chicken. They provide gloves. Waiting time is about 20-30 minutes. Service is okay.

I've rarely met a Korean Fried Chicken that I disliked and the chicken here was no exception. In fact, we found it absolutely delicious, that perfect combination of tender and crispy. We ordered the plate of three boneless chicken pieces, and I liked the honey garlic the best. And we ordered some tteokbokki to go with it, because we had to try tteokbokki in Seoul. It was a little much for the two of us but SO DELICIOUS. Goes well with beer.

Chicken restaurant
Hannam Oriental Roast Chicken is a renowned restaurant frequented by celebrities, embassy employees, and corporate CEOs. The establishment is known for its Korean oriental chicken, which is a whole chicken roasted on a rotisserie over an open fire. Despite the long queues, patrons are willing to wait for this delectable meal. The interior may be old-fashioned, but it attracts a young crowd. Visitors praise the flavorful and healthy nature of the chicken with its subtle charcoal scent.
First, you are seduced by the rotisserie outside the shop and the aromas wafting into the street. How can you refuse to try?? 21k Won for a roast chicken paired with kimchi and radish. The chicken is stuffed with glutinous rice. Roasted so it’s still juicy, with the chicken flavours shaping into the rice. Ours was a tiny bit dry, but didn’t ruin the experience. 100% worth it.
David S — Google review
They ask you only one question when you come in. How many chickens. There is no menu, there are no sides. Just gorgeous crispy succulent chicken stuffed with rice. It’s perfect. Yes you need to wait two hours. And once you see those chickens rotating and dripping on each other you can’t think of anything else. Put your name down and go for a couple of drinks nearby. Its worth it.
B M — Google review
Chicken was great. I’d order the original. I mean it’s not dry, the skin is perfectly crispy, and it tastes better than most fried chicken. They give you two sauces, but the chicken tastes good on its on own or with just the rice. The rice inside is sticky, flavorful, and feels like a warm hug. It’s served hot within minutes of you sitting down. 100% would recommend this spot. It feels very local despite being so popular if that makes sense.
Natasha Z — Google review
Very good roasted chicken cooked low and slow with what I believe is wood fire. The skin of the chicken was crispy and caramelised. The whole chicken was moist , even the chicken breast was moist. Inside the chicken was stuffed glutinous rice with ginseng , red dates and some herbs. Very very good. If you like samgeytang, I think you will enjoy this too. We only tried the original / traditional chicken as there were only two of us and we wanted a light dinner. We saw other tables eating other dishes and they did look very delicious. We waited for our table for 1 hour and I must say it’s worth the wait. Just leave your name / number on their waitlist and go for a walk around the area. You will be rewarded with a very good meal if you have patience.
Sel L — Google review
I picked up a roasted chicken today to enjoy at home, and it turned out to be one of the best I’ve ever had. The skin was perfectly crisped, the meat juicy and full of flavor — truly a standout among all the roast chickens I’ve tried. What made it even better were the accompanying sauces and the 유자소금 (yuzu salt), which added a refreshing citrusy kick that paired beautifully with the savory chicken. It was such a satisfying meal, simple yet exceptional in taste. Definitely a repeat-worthy takeout!

Wanted to gatekeep this place but i don’t visit Seoul often so it’s fine. The roasted chicken here is 100/100 perfection.

The store specialise in their whole chicken. Most people seemed to share the food. A group of 4 women shared 2 chicken. A family of 3 (one young son) shared 1 chicken. Small seating area, max 20 people? We had to wait 30 minutes before our turn (we reached around 5pm on a weekday). Chicken was stuffed with some glutinous rice. Simply roasted, can pair with spice or salt to enhance the taste. It is within walking distance to a train station. Great place!

Chicken restaurant
Yeongyang Center Main, also known as the 'Father of Roasted Chicken,' is a renowned restaurant in South Korea's Myeongdong district. Established in 1960, it is famous for introducing Korean electric oven-roasted chicken. The menu includes the popular Rotisserie Chicken (Jeongi-gui Tongdak) served with white pickled radish and the well-known Samgyetang, a ginseng-infused broth chicken dish.
Ordered the ginseng chicken and roasted chicken. Also comes with cabbage and pickles as side dish. Ginseng chicken soup was hearty and flavourful. Glutinous rice and chestnuts inside the chicken. The skin of the roasted chicken was crispy and aromatic. The flesh is tender.
Seah B — Google review
We visited Yeongyang Center Main in Myeongdong after it was recommended by a friend of my mother-in-law—and I’m so glad we took her advice. This place has been around for decades, and you can immediately feel the old-school charm when you walk in. It’s clearly loved by locals, and now we understand why. We ordered their signature rotisserie chicken, and it was seriously impressive. The skin was perfectly crisp, and the meat inside was incredibly juicy and tender. It had a clean, savory flavor that didn’t need much—just a dip in salt brought everything to life. We enjoyed it so much we were pulling the meat apart with our hands and couldn’t stop eating. The samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) was equally comforting, especially on a cool day. The broth was light but flavorful, and the chicken was stuffed with glutinous rice and chestnuts, making it a hearty and nourishing bowl. The restaurant was busy, but service was efficient and friendly. We were seated quickly and served without a long wait. There’s seating upstairs too, so it’s not hard to find a table even when it gets crowded. All in all, Yeongyang Center lived up to the recommendation. The food was delicious, and it felt like a very local experience. If you’re in Seoul and want to try classic Korean chicken dishes, this spot is a must.
Gator — Google review
2 levels of seating so there should be seats available even if the ground floor looks busy. There’s only a few items on the menu which basically are ginseng chicken soup or fried chicken. Service is efficient and quick. The place is run by a few elderly ladies and they are good at what they do. Pricing is decent for the quality of food.
Teck B — Google review
Samgyetang (삼계탕) aka Korean ginseng chicken soup consists of a whole young chicken filled with garlic, rice, jujube, and ginseng. It’s a Korean traditional soup, considered good for health! This Samgyetang restaurant has a few branches around Seoul, but this Myeongdong location is the original branch! They serve only 2 menu: Samgyetang and fried chicken. I’ve come here several times and love to order both.
Nutsfoodjourney — Google review
The roast chicken is a must try! Skin is super crispy, meat just literally falls off the bones. It's not flavoured so dip a little salt to taste. Ginseng chicken soup is also excellent! You know the food is good when the majority of customers are locals. The staff hardly speaks English but since the items are few, that's not much of a problem.

Cheap, good Korean Fried Chicken. The chicken: it’s crispy, crunchy and utterly addictive. For its price point, it’s a must try. Half soy half red honey, chefs kiss. Simple food, easy flavour, juicy bites wrapped in deep fried batter that satisfies with every bite. Do not order the salad. You come here for the chicken, don’t delude yourself with the illusion of health by ordering a side of leaves. You’re here to eat chicken. The pickled radish is the same as everywhere, and is fantastic at balancing out the richness and oiliness of the chicken.
David S — Google review
It was a pretty decent meal. The chips we ordered came out covered in a honey cheese powder which we didn’t particularly enjoy so be wary of this if you hoping for just chips! The garlic and soy chicken was lovely and crispy and the red honey chicken was very hot so again be conscious that it is very hot but still lovely. Would return but just wouldn’t order the chips again.

Tasty chicken, but we made the error of ordering garlic chicken. It came with a lot of raw garlic on top that we had to remove to be able to eat it. Had I known, I would have ordered just honey. Portion was quite large. Potato wedges were crispy and very tasty.

PSA: if you are rushing for time you may want to skip this as it is a 30 mins wait for takeout even if there is no one in front of you. Came in for a takeout as I was rushing for a flight. There was only one group in front of me and they shortly collected their food. The dine in area is pretty empty. When I wanted to check with the staff about my order (there is no staff stationed at the counter), the kitchen staff came out and rudely asked me to sit down before I could ask further. The second time he saw me before I could ask anything, he said “sit down” again. Sir it is my right to stand or sit while waiting… Only 20 mins later and on my third try to get his attention, I explained my situation and he pointed to sign and said 30 mins. When I tried to ask if the estimated waiting time is 10 mins more, he just snapped 30 mins. It is on me for not seeing the sign so this is warning for you! Usually this is more of a guideline if the place is crowded. I’m surprised by the poor attitude and long waiting time when the place is empty.

A great "pub" in Seoul, South Korea. The Regular Lager was extra crisp (carbonated) and cold. Personally, I like a carbonation forward lager with extra bite. This place nails the lager. I had the Hans Pilsner (flute glass pictured), Regular Lager, and house made sausage platter. (The picture on the menu showed it came with fries, but it came with a salad instead.) The only thing this place lacked when I visited was the cheery staff that you'd typically find in a U.S. brewery pub, but this could be a simple cultural and language difference so no fault found from me. Still great service! I would order a beer and it would show up in less than 90 seconds.

Don't let the pub-like exterior fool you! Outdark has some of the best fried chicken in Korea. The boneless fried chicken was a revelation, perfectly moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. But the deliciousness doesn't stop there. The fries, dusted with a savory seasoning, were so addictive we couldn't stop munching on them. And a special shout-out to the pickled radish; its tangy crunch was the perfect palate cleanser to cut through the richness of the fried chicken. We went early so we're the only ones there, but it was nice and cosy, good place for a beer. Finally I can leave a good review. We went to a bunch of places with good google reviews that turned out to be quite bad (almost all had some incentive to leave good reviews). This place was recommended by a local. Looks a bit dodgy from the outside, but the chicken is crispy and superb. And the chips were out of this world! Would definitely make a trip back to Hongdae next time we're in Korea to have this again.
Alyssa — Google review
Great place to for Fried chicken. Large portions are meant to be shared. As in the name, the atmosphere is dark inside. The place is small, so prepare to be intimate and cozy among friends. Definitely recommended when you have a crazy for chicken.

Korean restaurant
Onjium, a Korean restaurant in Seoul, has been recognized as one of the top 50 restaurants in 2023. It is also part of the 100 Taste of Seoul rankings for four consecutive years. The restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with elevated traditional Korean flavors and dishes. The staff is known for their kindness and attentiveness, while the menu changes seasonally.
This place deserves six stars. I preferred it over mingles. The service, attention to detail was so much better. I loved the pottery. I would recommend coming here instead of mingles. It deserves a higher rating. I have been to many top 50 restaurants in the world and this was right up there.
Casey W — Google review
Absolutely delightful culinary experience! All the dishes were a celebration of Korean food to the highest level. Excellent staff, and no other restaurant in Seoul could match the views from the corner room of Onjium.

Review onjium Onjium deserves all the stars it can have 🥹✨ Truly a remarkable dining experience and I’m really glad I chose Onjium to celebrate my birthday dinner in Korea! Each dish, including the flow was meticulously prepared and arranged to prepare you for the next dish. Every single dish was amazing and I can’t even choose which one is my favorite :’) further, I am also deeply grateful for the staffs, including the security guard. I accidentally left my handbag in the toilet, and they kept the handbag safe and sound. Thank you very much, I’ll definitely be back again for another season.
Tania A — Google review
Every person in our party of 4 said this is the best restaurant experience we've ever had. This place deserves 2 Michelin Stars. Outstanding. You must do the beverage pairing!
Alex R — Google review
Onjium was an unique experience from other fine dining establishments we have been to: a mix of traditional dishes pushed to their optimal structure, historical focused and withholding about how the experience will truly play out. If you can try to get the cherished counter seats (only five I believe) so you get the full view of the action. Also I can definitely say the price of admission is very much worth it in the breadth of experience. A quick rundown of the dishes provided for a lunch in June 2025. Starts off with a very clean pea and tofu porridge, driving the flavours of these two subtle ingredients home. A set of assorted bites comes next: a heavily fish tinged rice square; fried bonbons with odd fillings and two excellently salty-crunchy lightly fried flowers. Then mung bean jelly salad, a harmony of delicate seasonal sliced strips in the five cardinal colours. A soft seafood umami of the croaker and stuffed steamed crab. To cleanse the palate a refreshing Naengmyeon of homemade herbal noodles in a cold tomato water. The strength of the vegetal taste in the noodle highly enjoyable. Next, a platter of whitefish and octopus sashimi; a kimchi-pork handroll; mackerel rolls and a sublime Yukhoe. The thick sliced raw beef paired with julienned Asian pear the perfect combination. Into the main beef course of grilled sirloin and eggplant, a royal dish called Yukmyeon deconstructed. The marination on the beef quite unctuous and well paired with the summer vegetables. A bibimbap follows providing a considerable diverse set of flavours, hard to gist really. Finish up with an ice cream sandwich, puffed rice balls glazed in ginger sugar and perilla seed toffee. The toffee being the standout among those three. Complete the seating with a final bit of curated tea (suggested by this guy) or coffee. Straightforward by some of the haute cuisine gastronomy standards but truly an amazing experience.

Delicious take on traditional royal Josen cuisine in this research institute! Flavors were very refined and refreshing. The vibe and view was amazing. Be sure to take the earlier dining time to not be rushed. Onjium has a nice wine list too!
Agnes S — Google review
A really pleasant experience on Korean cuisine. It’s like the local Korean version of El Bulli, to discover and reinvent Korean recipes. “More than food: In Korean, onjium means “creating in the right way”. Here, the source to make something new comes from researching centuries-old recipe books – after all, this is an institute that has been studying Korean heritage since 2013.“

Fantastic dining experience. As foreign tourists, we were able to experience authentic hansik flavours with a modern twist. The staffs were really fluent with their English and explained each dish to small details. The dishes were well balanced and every element was well thought through. I wish to come back another time as they change their menu periodically.

Saerona Chicken has been perfecting its fried chicken recipe for over 40 years, attracting a loyal customer base. The secret to its longevity lies in its signature dish, the fried curry chicken. This unique offering sets it apart from franchise restaurants and is known for its slightly spicy flavor. The cozy establishment is run by friendly staff and offers a unique dining experience with its small seating area accommodating around five groups at a time.
The two ladies working are very kind. Little smaller place that sits around 5 groups. First time eating Korean deep fried chicken with curry powder. I loved it!

(Translated by Google) I ate curry chicken, but it was a bit spicy, and it definitely tasted different from the chicken I had at a franchise chicken restaurant. Even if you wrap it, it's good to have plenty of radish and curry sauce. (Original) 카레치킨 먹었는데 약간 매콤.확실히 프랜차이즈 치킨집에서 먹어본 치킨과는 차별적인 맛. 포장해도 무,카레소스 넉넉하게 챙겨줘서 좋음.

Came twice in under a week, and both times it was packed with locals — always the best sign. If I had to pick three places to recommend in Seoul, this would make the list without question. The fried chicken is out of this world. Two flavours, a salad, a cold beer… the perfect Seoul night.
Maider G — Google review
Very small space, food was served quite fast though. Not sure if we’ve tried the wrong flavours but the powdered version was super overpowering. We had the half and half curry and honey butter flavour. By the end of the meal, our nails were stuffed with seasoning. seasoning aside, chicken actually tasted pretty good. Maybe we should’ve tried the original and spicy sauce version instead. Burgers were unavailable, so it was a pity.

The fried lotus root is absolutely delicious. The chicken was great too, but the draft beer wasn’t that good. It’d be nice if they had a better selection of draft beer.

Hot tip - book a table remotely via catch table before your dinner time! Wait time was longggg but the food was satisfying enough to make up for it. We liked the anchovies and peppers one!

Located beside the metropolitan police agency. A bit diff to find. Staff speaks some English, if u need ice, ask, need plates, ask ... need athg ... ask ... they do respond. There are 2 levels, we choose to sit at the bottom level. We got a chicken leg burger. Absolutely tender and delicious. Set comes with fries and coke. But the plate of chicken wing is so huge. Chicken parts with green pepper and anchovies ... it is a marathon trying to finish all. But it's delicious enough, so pace urself, drink some coke and slowly eat. V fragrant and green pepper is really a special flavour. Wifi speed is fast. Password Hyodo12345. Staff let u eat in peace. They don't come over unless u flag them. Actually the platter of chicken is good enough for 2 pax. Good long walk to reach this place but worth it. Weirdly, the toilet is at the mid of level 1. Pretty small but clean.

Thursday evening (7pm) has a long que, I ask the staff how long it will be, he said 1-2hrs. so I didn't make it. Weekdays 2 pm is no que at all. The staff took order by missing one dish. Chicken 2 flavor, stir-fried anchovy with green chilies(꽈리고추 멸치볶음 Kwari gochu myeolchi bokkeum) is not crispy, the green chili not spicy, chicken with deep fried lotus root (연근 튀김 Yeongeun Twigim) is greasy a bit spicy and sweet, French fries came with fried seaweed chips (김부각 Kim Bugak) is not oily and it crunchy it's good, coke can(355 ml) cost 2500₩. The 2 flavors chicken cost 23,000₩ and French fries for 4,000₩. On the 2nd floor, there are 3 tables with customers, no staff attending here. At the time I came downstairs to pay the bill, I saw staff playing with his cell phone. No parking.

Hanshin Pocha Hongdae Branch is a popular spot known for its satisfyingly spicy chicken feet and rich kimchi soup, catering to Thai tastes. It's a great place to hang out with friends, although it can get quite noisy due to the focus on beer and lively atmosphere. The bar offers plenty of seating during weekdays but tends to fill up quickly later in the evening. While some find the prices a bit high, others appreciate the delicious and affordable food options.

(Translated by Google) Chicken specialty chain restaurant Located 11 minutes away from Exit 3 of Itaewon Station. This is a chicken restaurant, so chicken is the main dish. This place also sells chicken burgers during the day. There are several ways to end chicken. Among them, challenge yourself with the crispiest chicken! Crispy fries and moist flesh It's a chicken style with a hint of texture on the outside. Since it's fried food, it goes well with pickled radish. It is also good to eat with cola. They serve a salsa-flavored sauce as standard. Personally, I think regular seasoning is better. For those who like a unique feel! The store is small and there are only a few tables. After ordering and eating at the table Payment is made at the counter. I also wanted to eat a chicken burger, It's a shame I didn't get to try it because it was only sold until 5pm. Interior with a slightly classic feel It can bring out a bit of nostalgia. The overall feel is clean and not bad.
