Really good, fresh intestine - cooked perfectly with great flavor and texture. You can really taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The line wasn't too bad, and even if you do have to wait a bit, it's absolutely worth it! The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best places around if you're craving authentic, delicious intestine dishes. I'll be coming back for sure!

Food was very good, but it was short of perfect. The bean sprouts soup at the beginning of the meal has quite a kick. It's very refreshing between greasy bites. The small intestines weren't as internally clean as I prefer, but still very enjoyable. I thought the meal would be particularly oily but it certainly was not. If anything, just right. I am a solo diner. Keep in mind that you need to order two entrées to begin with. Luckily I was terribly hungry, so the portion was perfect for myself. For a group, or even a pair, the portion sizes are small with comparison to other non-Myeondong area locations.

We had a great time during lunch. Easy to order, and the fact that they cook it for us made it even more attractive. We are good cooking our own K-BBQ back in Seattle, but with these options (intestines and all), it's better to have someone who really knows the cocking duration of each of the meet in the mix do it, rather than under or over cooking them. We had 2 of the brisket + intestine (mixed with assorted vegetables), and one beef ribs assorted. Added the Kimchi fried rice which came last. Anyone who wants to take out the complexity of eating at KBBQ, and have the best kbbq taste in town should make this a definite stop.

Such a gem in Myeongdong! We ordered for two but it felt like three portions — so full and satisfied 😋 The staff were super friendly and even helped grill everything for us. Cozy vibe, great food, and fair prices. Definitely coming back again! 💯🔥

I still cannot imagine to encounter such honesty and integrity here in this restaurant and displayed by the staff. We had dinner here but realised our iPhone was left behind only after back to our room. Walked back to the restaurant and the staff was extremely helpful to help search around and then found our phone being safe kept at the cashier counter. Love this place!!! Known for a lot of celebrities as well. 곱창(small intestines) are the best in my opinion. Side dish if tteokbokki is also one of a kind. Service is very fast and located in the middle of Gangnam.

The pickles and tteokbokki served as side dishes are truly delicious. The beef intestines are fresh, and the service from the staff is really satisfying. If I come back to Korea, this is a place I'd like to visit again. Just to note, the meat is all cooked and ready to eat, making it convenient to dig in right away.

Don't fall for the trap.. High rating is due to freebies for five star review.. it's also not foreigner friendly as no one speaks english, they don't understand what you want and throwing your food without confirming instead... both intestines and tripes are hard and dry like rubber... With this price, you can easily get a better quality somewhere else...

This is a great place for intestines. They’ve got assorted intestines as well as delicious sides like friend rice or ramen. The price is reasonable and people are nice. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to give grilled intestines a try!

Slight confusion at first due to the language spoken. After we sorted that out, things went smoothly. We ordered a small garlic bossam, small kimchi stew with pork and one serving of chives pancake. The bossam never disappoint us. The pork in the kimchi stew is tender and the kimchi is just right, not too sour. The chives pancake is also nice, not oily but yet crispy. Will visit here again.

Okay, so bossam isn't my absolute favorite dish, but I still really enjoy it. I love how it has a light initial taste that just keeps developing the more you eat. Small and cosy place but luckily we reached before the lunch crowd and got a table with no waiting time The bossam was soooo good. No porky smell and it simply melts in your mouth. Should be 1 of the best I ever had. Spicy fried octopus is very good too. The sauce is so flavourful and the octopus cook just right which makes it so soft. The kimchi tofu soup was not the usual kind we had in SG. The tofu is a whole slab cut and served separately. Nice firm tofu which goes very well when you put into the soup and eat it together. Actually it’s very nice on its own too.

Delicious and authentic Korean food in Insadong. The braised pork with garlic was outstanding – tender, rich, and full of flavour. We also enjoyed the chives pancake and the stir-fried baby octopus dish, both excellent in taste. The highlight was the unique makgeolli made from burnt rice crust, smooth and memorable. Be sure to come early or try to come personally to make a reservation – the place fills up quickly and is often booked out. Overall, a fantastic meal and a place I’d highly recommend.

This was a great dinner spot for bossam. The bossam was so tender and clean tasting, I wish we had bossam like this in the states. The garlic sauce was the perfect dip for the meat and we had to order some makgeolli with the pajun. Such a great and tasty meal that didn't leave you feeling overly full or bloated because of how fresh the ingredients were.

Visited this place many years ago, when it was situated in an old house, it had such nice rustic vibes. The shop has since moved 5 years ago to this new shop. Although it does not have that rustic vibes, the food is still pretty good, I love the slow boiled pork with kimchi, so flavourful and wonderful with rice. The egg and side dishes are also done really well. Will visit again, when I visit Seoul.

I can't recommend this place enough, if I could find my way back without our guide I'd of went more while visiting Seoul! This place is an absolute must!! Authentic food at a great price! (Also great if you like spicy food) probably best to bring a native speaker as well for ordering 😁 make sure to try the kimchi in this place it's amazing!

Delicious food in authentic Korean restaurant. The Kimchi Jim has pork that breaks apart as you touch it and the Egg Mari is huge and has melted cheese inside.

Main menu is kimchiccim which made of kimchi boiled with fork and some other ingredients. Little bit hot and spicy but it is really recommended. You can add some noodles in it. I also recommend gyeranmary(fried eggs rolled in shape of bread). Adding some ketchup on it tastes great. Rice and noodles can be refilled.

Always tasty. My friends and I always get the 김치찜 and 계란말이 along with a couple bottles of 막걸리. The interior is interesting with several rooms and staircase style floors. The prices are reasonable. There is plenty of space, so it's possible to bring a larger group. All the seating is on the floor.

A restaurant that serves Kimchi jjigae located in a cute little alley. The place is no frills and I guess could be considered a hole in the wall. There aren't a lot of tables so I can imagine it could get crowdy during peak times. The place was run by 3 ladies who were always quick in serving. The soup itself was full of flavor and just spicy enough. Also consider ordering the omelet if you're really hungry as they make it fresh and on the spot.

I decided to stop by for a quick lonely dinner and ended up falling in love with the place. Gwangwmhwamun Jib (Gwanghwamun House) 광화문집 serves Kimchi Jjigae 김치찌개 and it serves just right! The soup was amazing, embedding the sour taste of old fermented kimchi 김치 - just the way it should be. It would've been extra perfect if the shop was a bit more generous on pork meat chunks. Omelet 계란말이 goes perfectly with the Kimch Jjigae 김치찌개, so make sure you try them. The place is a matchbox, so don't expect candlelight dinner here.

A hidden gem for hearty tasty kimchi jjigae. The kimchi jjigae is precooked & served in pots, heated up on the stove at each table. The meat was chunky & the broth tangy. The ladies serving us were very friendly. It’s hidden at a back alley, look for the road sign Saemunan-ro 7-gil. The space is limited so do avoid lunch peak hours if possible.

A small hole-in-the-wall kind of restaurant that has been serving kimchi stew for decades. This place has remained unchanged and unpretentious and serves kimchi stew with succulent pork belly and some sides, but I highly recommend also getting the omelette to pair with the kimchi stew. This place is not fancy be warned, but the food is simple, hearty, unpretentious and most importantly, delicious! Note that the restaurant is hidden in an alley way but not hard to miss. It only accepts cash (I think) and there is no English menu but they only serve 3 items so just order all of them :)

It’s super duper delicious! The meat is super juicy and the steamed egg! WOW love it!

The absolute best cuts of meat I have ever had in my 30 years of life. - 10/10 would come every time I’m in Seoul. - 10/10 would recommend everyone come when they’re in the vicinity. - 10/10 would recommend to visit even if no where near. The first piece of meat gave me an existential crisis. Due to the sad events of 29 Dec, there won’t be fireworks to usher in the New Year but the fireworks appeared in my mouth as I took my first bite. Edit to provide more information: - 4 pax - no reservation on NYE - arrived at about 8:20pm, seated before 8:50pm, food on table by 8:56pm. - Was given a heads up at entry that last order was @ 9:20pm and they close @ 10pm. - ordered 2 servings of pork belly (ultimate flavour burst), 1 serving of pork shoulder, 1 serving of blade meat and 2 servings of marinated spareribs. With seafood soybean soup and fluffy egg on the side. All in all a wonderful experience. Will definitely be back again.

GOOD bbq place that lies on a beautiful street, very good service, young crews and super friendly personality, the girl in green cap asked where we were from, felt really nice to meet tourist friendly place, and also waitress who enjoys her job is very rare these days, love the meat, good price for good meat and nice people, side dishes was a bomb, the citric kimchi is unforgettable, i cleaned up all their side dishes, this place is easy to find, walkable from exit 3 of hapjeong and after ur meal u could walk a little to hongdae market, be there early to avoid queue as u need a korean number to reserve a seat, we were there around 5plus, when we were done with food there was already a q, but i believe the crew will just help u out even if u do not have korean number, thats how much i appreciate their staffs, good job, keep it up.

The pork belly in Korea is on another level! 🥓🔥 It’s so juicy and flavorful, especially when grilled right at the table. I loved wrapping it with lettuce, garlic, and a bit of ssamjang — the perfect bite every time. The texture was crispy on the outside but super tender inside. You can really taste the quality of the meat. Pair it with some soju and it’s perfection.

Finally found my go-to pork! The pork is thick and perfectly smoky without being greasy. The pork chops are always juicy and never tough. You can really taste the quality difference. Highly recommend for an easy, delicious meal. Great value for the quality.

Their spicy seafood sujebi was very good, spicy, tasty with the mantou skins. We also tried the pancake which was their specialty. This place provides free flow of kimchi but watch out as it was one of the the spiciest kimchi we tried. Overall a very good place for a hearty local meal. This is a old restaurant so expect the interior to reflect its old age.

Enjoyed the local Korean lunch here after a visit to the famous Gyeongbokgung Palace. Loved the neighbourhood feel, small and helpful people there. Ordered the popular noodles and pancake which both are super nice, also the side dish of their kimchi is very good as well. Bravo 👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻

The fresh kimchee (not fermented long) is great - one of the best! Their noodle dishes are good. Their only weakness are the juns - just average.

Good customer service. The fresh beef liver are big surprise to me, you should try at least once because it’s hard to found in other places. Personally I like the fried rice most, it mixed with kimchi and seaweeds.

Gopchang ia super delicious food in korea and i am so addicted to it after trying this restaurant. It's on a very peaceful alley near centre of Seoul, not very crowded during the day. The gopchang has been cleaned up and marinated, served with salad and chives. The staff will do everything for you until the gopchang is ok eat. You don't have to do anything but just eating the gopchang 💌💌💌 you'll gonna love the taste of it, so beautifully grilled with chives and served with vegies. When you almost finish the pan, they will fried the rest gopchang with white rice. So delicious 🌸 These are the photos i took before my meal, so beautiful. I recommend this place. But make sure you don't wear light color shirts or pants and you don't go anywhere formal aftwr the meal 😅😅 you know grilled dishes will make you smell so awful 🙆🏻‍♂️

Don’t look anywhere else. There’s about 5-10 different entrails bbq store but this one is legit and tasty! Best way to order if you don’t speak any Korean is to show any of the photos from google. We ended up getting a combo and got fried rice at the end. Can’t wait to go back!

Got recommended by this on Instagram & it totally hit the spot!! They accept credit card! We came on a Friday around 6pm & waited ~15 mins for a table. If you come later on Sat/Sun, you’ll likely wait up to 30mins for a table. We ordered the 2 main dishes - Gamjatang & Braised Pig Trotters. For 2 pax & below, highly recommend you choose 1 only - They’re fairly big portions. For 2 pax & above, go for both! The Gamjatang is quite spicy so if you can’t handle spice, ask for less spicy. Waitresses speaks decent English so they’ll understand! We paid SGD$68 for 2 of the main dishes - Expensive but so so worth it! Will be back for sure

Quaint traditional shop located in a small alley. Melt in the mouth caramelized pork! Hearty pork bone, chives and beansprout soup that taste like shin ramen on steroids. Perhaps come in a group of at least 3-4 people as servings are large.

The best jokbal I’ve tried. The meat is so tender that it falls apart when you try to pick it up. Perfectly seasoned and honestly I understand why it’s been in the Michelin guide of seoul for the past 7 years. The food is just unbeatable. From the moment they brought it over to our table to when we stopped eating it took 15 minutes to finish. Perfect combination with somak ( soju mixed with beer). I honestly can’t wait to try this again. 10/10

A tiny place, deep in the corner of a small alley. Known for Korean pig's feet (jokbal) and potato soup with pig backbone (gamjatang), this is a great experience for those wanting to get a taste of what a traditional Korean "mom and pop" eatery looks like. It even has a Michelin rating. Food was very good, though the spicy gamjatang may not be for everyone. I wasn't a big fan of jokbal sitting out in the open, but I'm not at a 5-Star hotel. Service was very prompt and courteous.

Spicy pork at 10,000 won. Kimchi soup (w some pork inside) at 9,000 won. Kimchi soup is nice.

The price was lower in comparison with other BBQ meals we have had during our time in Seoul. However, the menu is written in Korean only (No Image) and the staff didnt seem to be much interested in making it easier for us as foreigners when we were struggling to make sense of what costs 18,000 won or 16,000 won. Such a shame.

Everything was fine, not memorable. I definitely noticed the difference in banchan selection from the average Korean bbq spot but BEWARE that the photos you see, are dishes that they have available on different days and different seasons. Don’t expect to find them all like we did. We were disappointed as the top two things we really wanted to try here weren’t available so we settled. Also, I really wish they would let people know that they take lunch break at 3pm so they won’t plan to come around this time. The English is not too great but we managed. The ladies who work here are very enthusiastic and helpful! There’s a variety of seating from communal tables in the middle to traditional seating on the floor and little booths which is where we sat. It added to the experience and I loved it, but my elderly and tall dad, not so much. Also, the restaurant is at the bottom of a long case of stairs so not too accessible. All in all, ok experience but wouldn’t return.

This place is a gem. There's seatings where you sit on the floor with no shoes, and feel like you're taken back in time. The decor is retro. You get a bunch of side dishes which are all unique and absolutely delicious. I liked the side dishes more than the tteok!

I preferred the sides I had last time, but it's good to know Insadong Hangane Bulgogi Jumak swap out their sides! It's still easy to visit and you'll be full on their food. We walked in and easily got a table for two! 😊 ----- ORDERED (NOV 2024): 🐄 Korean-styled barbecued (bulgogi) beef course (200g) (19,000₩ / $22aud pp) REVIEW: ✌ This portion was doubled for two. I think they wanted us to get the same set... as opposed to different (minor language barrier). Although we wanted the chive pancake as well, luckily, the staff convinced us against it because the Bulgogi beef course was more than enough. As others have said, the banchan/sides are the best we've had in Seoul. Amazingly, it mimics similar flavours in Melbourne with some new additions like: crunchy cucumber, seasoned lotus root, and tofu. 🤤 Beef isn't as good as Melbourne (seemed chewier and less beef flavour), but the bulgogi flavouring is great. 💟 🏮 The vibes are immaculate. Going downstairs, it feels local (the Korean signs, the interesting decor). There were a couple of tourists there, so it's definitely tourist friendly! You may need to go with very basic English, though. They have really attentive service. ❤ Insadong Hangane Bulgogi Jumak is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a place for great quality, affordable food and friendly service for tourists. Located in the basement of the building, we were looking forward to bulgogi (not in the soup). We arrived on a Monday 6pm and it was 30% full so we were seated right away. The food was fine and priced reasonably. But the lack of Air Conditioning made the experience a bit uncomfortable. The banchan was the best part with a wide array of items.

I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of one of my best friends. I was expecting more because i heard it is popular with office workers nearby during lunchtime... but I am also satisfied. I ate the "set meal(정식세트)" ₩12,000. The main dish served every day is different (bossam meat(보쌈고기) and kimchi stew on Friday), and all the side dishes were delicious. Once you order, the food comes out super fast. It would be nice to order after everyone is seated. When you go out to eat alone, go after 1:30 pm so you won't have to wait in line and you'll be able to eat comfortably. Except main dish(보쌈고기), you can ask refill as much as you wanted.

The beef tripe is chewy. Beef small intestine has rich fat with fragrance. Rice wine goes well with honey. A good place to try local korean food.

A Must-Visit BBQ Spot in Jongno – Gimjinmoksam We visited Gimjinmoksam on the very first day of our arrival in South Korea, and it quickly became our favorite restaurant of the entire trip. Conveniently located near our Airbnb in Jongno, I had actually looked it up a week before our departure and was excited to try it—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered the pork belly, pork neck, and pork jowl, and every single cut was incredibly delicious. You could instantly tell the quality of the meat was top-notch. Each cut was prepared with a precise lattice pattern and seasoned with coarse salt before grilling, which enhanced both the texture and flavor beautifully. What really elevated the experience was the service. Our waiter not only grilled the meat for us with skill and care, but also explained how to best enjoy each type. The attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel right at home. We loved it so much, we ended up going back a second time—this time to Gimjinmoksam 2, a smaller location not too far from the original. WOW, was kind of put off they didn't have the traditional meats(beef also) but my oh my was it still one of the best experiences I've had eating in korea. Service was 150٪ went above and beyond, explaining all the side dishes and different ways to eat their meat. Food was delicious, meat was melt in your mouth good and the quality was definitely there. Very professional atmosphere, they do all the cooking for you and like I said are very informative on their dishes.

The food was very reasonably priced (2 rolls of gimbap for 3000 won), and the portion sizes were very generous! It's very easy to order and pay with the machine and the food came very quickly. This place was such a pleasure to stay at. I was only here for my last night in Seoul but will definitely book a stay for longer on my next trip to SK. The hospitality and food were so good. They bring a welcome tea service to your room when you check in. They also serve a traditional Korean breakfast delivered to your room in the morning. Everything was delicious. Went there on my 2nd day and order one ginseng chicken together with the oyster soup for 2 people. Ginseng chicken was okie, but Oyster soup was pretty good. Went back on my 4th day as i wanted some hot ginseng soup again. But this time one of the lady said that i must order 2 ginseng set cause there are 2 people and refuse to let me order the same order that I had. . End up we just walk away

The ginseng chicken soup in Seoul was a comforting but unremarkable experience. The rice stuffed inside the bird gave the dish a hearty texture and mild sweetness, while the tender chicken fell apart easily. It was nourishing and traditional, the sort of meal that feels restorative on a cold day. However, the overall flavor profile leaned towards the subtle rather than the memorable. The ginseng aroma added depth but not much excitement, and without strong seasoning, the soup risked tasting a bit flat after a few spoonfuls. It was a satisfying cultural experience more than a culinary revelation — good for the body, perhaps less so for the palate.

Spicy chicken was good. Big portion enough for 2-3 people. Staff is very responsive and helps with little English and shows you how to correctly eat it. Seems like it can get pretty busy too

They serve very tasty oyster soup rice. Ginseng chicken soup is their signature with rice wrapped in the chicken.

Ginseng Chicken Soup - meat taste like frozen chicken and not tender. No taste of Ginseng at all (only managed to find one miserable section of a cut small ginseng). The variation I ordered with abalone, and abalone taste hard and chewy. Taste just like chicken soup (NOT Ginseng Chicken soup!). Nothing special...
