While on holiday we had to do our washing, what an amazing place to do so! The breakfast sandwiches were amazing, the staff were incredibly accommodating and happy, and the family friendly chilled out atmosphere was just the best start to the day. A staff member told my dad that the difference about this place is that the owner runs it on love, which you can definitely feel! Thank you for having us.

Honey Badger Dessert Café is the sort of place you wander into for “just one quick sweet” and end up staying until you scrape the last caramel bead from the plate. Tucked into Salamanca Square, the room mixes polished timber with pops of pastel, and the smell of warm sugar drifts out to the courtyard even before you reach the door. The menu is built for people who treat dessert as a proper meal. We shared a Kyoto Holiday pancake stack loaded with matcha cream and fairy-floss wisps, followed by the Blonde Panookie, a skillet cookie that arrives still sizzling under a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. The banoffee skillet was a close second favourite, thick with fresh banana and ribbons of toffee. To drink, the lychee-rose popping soda bursts like childhood in a glass and makes a neat palate reset between all that richness. Staff strike the right balance between friendly and efficient. Orders land quickly, water is topped up without prompting, and samples of house-made fudge appear the moment you look curious. Prices hover around the mid-teens for most desserts, which feels fair given the portion size and the obvious care in presentation. Extra points for staying open late; it is one of the few spots in Hobart where you can wind up the evening with something sweet and a good coffee.

I went here for brunch on a weekday since I've heard a lot of good reviews about this place. Their coffee was really good! And the waffle and chicken did not disappoint!! Serving was also quite huge, can be shared by two people. Service was great. There's a wall with a lot of posters about local events and programs which was a nice touch ✨

Love Pigeon Hole! It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy a weekend brunch with family or a relaxed weekday meal solo. While it’s not cheap, the prices feel spot on for the quality. We always leave feeling like we’ve had good value for money. The food is mostly sourced from their own paddocks, and you can truly taste the freshness. My go-to is usually the omelette, but there are plenty of great options, and they regularly update their specials. My wife and I consider it our favourite brunch spot in Hobart.

Love, love, love this place! The food is fabulous, the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfy. Added bonus is that everything is gluten free and vegetarian! How good is that!! We enjoyed a delicious kimchi and cheese toastie, and a greens bowl washed down with good coffee and a yummy dandelion latte on almond milk. Got a yummy loaf of GF bread to take home too. Highly highly recommended.

Westside Laundry was our absolute favourite stop during our trip to Hobart. The food was delicious, and we highly recommend trying their special. We were lucky enough to get the southern fried steak, which was our favourite yet. A special shoutout to the staff, who made each visit so enjoyable. We loved the banter, atmosphere, and the delicious food.

This dish was an absolute comfort delight. The omurice came with perfectly seasoned tomato rice wrapped in a soft, creamy omelette that melted in the mouth. The highlight was the rich demi-glace sauce—deep, flavorful, and not overly salty—which brought the whole dish together. The beef slices were tender and generously portioned, adding a hearty balance to the smooth egg and rice. Everything was beautifully plated and satisfying without being too heavy. 🍽️ A well-executed fusion of Western-style sauce and Japanese comfort food—definitely a must-try if you’re visiting Erda. We frequented Leoht on our recent trip to Hobart. By the end of our visit we felt like locals! The staff were so lovely and the food and coffee were a very high standard. It is in a gorgeous area and we loved everything about it! Definitely give this place a try-you won’t regret it!

These guys know what they’re doing - all the staff were very good with their knowledge of allergens, and ensure I ate safely, providing me with plenty coeliac safe options. Delicious, fresh seafood and food in general. Lovely service and a pleasant atmosphere. Recommend.

Hobart must-visit for pie lovers! It is is a true gem tucked into the charming streets of Battery Point. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly baked pastries and a cabinet full of tempting treats. I tried one of their pies and it was absolutely excellent—flaky, golden pastry with a rich, flavorful filling that hit all the right notes. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and efficient even during busy hours. Whether you're after a quick bite or a leisurely brunch, this bakery delivers on quality and charm. Highly recommend!

Great fish and chips. We ordered beer battered flake, three calamari and chips. It was enough to share, as we’d sampled some food at the nearby markets. There is seating inside and outside the eatery. They are licensed and also provide self service bottles of water and cups. The calamari was excellent and the tartare sauce was included in the price.

Busy, sophisticated and popular cafe with speedy service. Excellent coffee. Very tasty ham and cheese croissant. Cool lighting and perfect indoor air temperature for the cold climate down here. I’ll definitely return to this cafe because of their service. Sadly, not all credit cards are accepted. Don’t forget about their pastries, cakes and slices too !!

This spot is truly a hidden treasure. At first glance, it may not seem like much, but the food and service are exceptional. It’s no surprise that it’s always buzzing with breakfast patrons—the quality of both the dishes and service is outstanding. During our four-night stay in Hobart, we found ourselves enjoying breakfast and dinner here on three consecutive days. The pancakes were delightful, and the fruit salad paired with yogurt and honey was equally good. We also loved the hearty big breakfast. Awesome coffee too. For dinner, we indulged in the spaghetti al vongole, veal cotoletta, spaghetti marinara, and Italian meatballs—each dish bursting with authentic Italian flavor. It was a fantastic experience! A special thanks to Grace, who took care of us during breakfast, and young Valeria, who served us at dinner. Both were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. 🌸🩷

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday brunch at Room for a Pony back in April, and it was such a wonderful choice! The outdoor seating area is charming and the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The mimosas were the perfect addition to our brunch, making the experience even more special. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, making it a great place to celebrate any occasion.

Beautifully lit room with lots of natural lighting . Lots of seats available but we were lucky we got a table for our party of 8 without a booking. Very interesting menu with Tasmanian produce featured. They octopus and nduja scrambled eggs were amazing, uniquely Tassie! Wished we'd known about this place sooner so we could try more items on the menu. Coffee were good too! They might be short on staff as we waited for coffee for a while.

Immediately upon seeing the menu I couldn't go past the fried chicken benny (a combination that I haven't seen often and should probably be banned for invalidating other breakfast choices). My partner ordered the Dandy rosti with bacon. Both were excellent, as were the coffees. Highly recommend.

Parklane Espresso serves some of the best coffee in Tasmania. The service is friendly, and my order was taken by a charming little girl ~ Looks like it is a family business. The quality of the coffee is outstanding, making it a must-visit spot for coffee enthusiasts. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing coffee break. not to add too much sugar to the coffee, I think max is 1 sugar for a large coffee, else it is too sweet. Highly recommend.

A vegan’s dream! So many delicious vegan options. Loved it so much I went back three days in a row! Food from the menu is amazing plus they have the best cakes and sweet treats. Staff is super friendly too. A must! :)

Wow! What an amazing cafe located in Hobart that sells the most amazing pies I’ve ever had! They had scallop pies?! And it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered their sausage rolls and beef pie which tasted so freshly made and heart warming. You definitely need to visit this cafe if you’re in the area!

Cozy vibe of chilling, I sit on outdoor space with a heating fire makes you feel comfy. Come to the place from 5-7pm you get happy hour for Tassie lager beer at 9$. Food serve in big portion, recommend the Chicken parmi. If you pair with drink, it charges only 10$. Worth a visit as they have live music as well

Went here for breakfast with my elderly Mum as it was just around the corner from our accommodation at Gibsons Mill apartments. This is a great find! Fabulous food served quickly and fresh, wonderful coffee and super friendly service. Best of all, no surcharge when we paid via credit card!!

I absolutely enjoyed my coffee experience at this small cafe. The owner is very knowledgeable and was very patient in explaining how each coffee bean tastes and the origin of the bean. I ordered the batch brew (syphon brew), it was very satisfying watching the coffee being brewed in front of me. The coffee pairs well with a sea salt & leatherwood honey croissant.
