Breakfast restaurant
Sadelle's New York, located in SoHo, is a vintage-style hotspot known for its smoked fish, housemade bagels, and other delectable offerings. It's a popular spot for weekend brunch but also serves breakfast and lunch on weekdays. The Sadelles Tower is one of the most photographed foodie dishes in New York, featuring a tiered spread of tuna, egg, lobster, and shrimp salads alongside fresh veggies and perfectly baked bagels.
Best smoked fish we ever had with bagel. We ordered Smoked Scottish and House Salmon. Both came as different plates with the side of tomatoes, cucumbers, dill, capers and red onion. The best combination! There are 4 type of bagels in selection. We went with everything and garlic. Garlic one was a bit burnt so giving it a little bitter. We really love their Smoked Scottish. The smokey smell from the fish made the hit with the scallion cream cheese. Please order this fish with your favorite bagel. You will thank me. We went there on weekday and the room is almost filled so highly recommend to reserve the seat if you came on weekends/holidays.

Saddell’s Soho - loved it! The smoked salmon and bagels were absolutely delicious—super fresh and flavorful. The omelette was just as delicious, light and tasty. The space itself is lovely. The staff is awesome! Great spot for brunch. Definitely worth a visit!
Georgia P — Google review
Sadelle's came highly recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint. The interior decor is very chic and the outdoor patio is well positioned to maintain the ambiance found within the restaurant. The bagel tower was very tasty and the potatoes were delicious. Jordan was an incredible server. He was very attentive and had great recommendations.

My husband and our friend came here for Brunch and boy did it exceed our expectations, it was amazinggg. The atmosphere was so pretty, I couldn’t help but take a pic while waiting to be seated, which didn’t take long. The service was awesome, and the food was SOOOO damn good. We left very happy and couldn’t stop talking about it the whole rest of the day. Highly recommend 10/10.
J W — Google review
TLDR: not great. An underwhelming experience for a few reasons. Although the atmosphere and the aesthetic of the restaurant set the standards high, the rest of my experience wasn't great. This was the place I picked to treat myself during a business trip, and it did not deliver as expected. Although they tried to make it right by giving me a discount and offering an extra cocktail, this was the only chance to have a good experience, and discounts can't fix that. I did tip anyway, but the staff did not offer any apologies. It felt a bit like the staff is used to dealing with so many customers that saying they're sorry is not worth the effort. Mishaps can happen I just wish didn't happen during the only lunch I had planned 😕 I paid 30 dollars for a tiny bagel presented nicely. You can save money by going to any bagel shop, and you don't have to assemble the lox bagel yourself. My side dish had a fly in it, unfortunately. No formal apologies were offered, just a "do you want another one?" My mushrooms and barley soup had no barley in it. Cocktails are not worth it the price.
Cetty D — Google review
I had an eggs Benedict with ham for $28. It was not worth the price. It was so tiny I was still hungry and I’m a petite woman. The eggs were Luke warm and medium well almost hard boiled. The mimosa was delicious. Won’t be going back here. Then the tables were so close together. Towards the end of our meal a large group was sat right behind me and a man kept his chair so far out that every single person including the wait staff kept bumping into the back of my head. The wait staff should have asked him to push his chair in or they should not have sat them there. They just kept apologizing for bumping me constantly.

A iconic NYC staple! The service, food & atmosphere is amazing! We loved the whole experience and can’t wait to go back! We got the Eggs Benedict & the French toast! The French toast is now in my Top 3 “best I’ve ever had” The only thing getting used to was people’s dogs under the tables haha - that was not my favorite especially inside where you’re eating etc!
Simee G — Google review
Mixed Experience — Not Sure Why It’s So Popular The food is good — not great, but good. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired for several reasons: 1. Kitchen timing is poorly coordinated. They ask you to order all dishes at once but don’t ensure that the starter arrives before the main. I ended up eating my main dish first. When I asked about it, the waiter said he had no control over kitchen timing. 2. Restroom situation is inconvenient. There was a line of six people waiting to use the restroom (unisex). Two restrooms simply aren’t enough for a restaurant of this size. 3. Waitstaff is overstretched. It took me three requests to different waiters just to get more coffee. 4. Inconsistent service attitude. Some hostesses and waiters were polite and genuinely interested in making the experience pleasant, but others seemed indifferent. Overall, the food quality doesn’t quite make up for the service issues.

Takeout Restaurant
Sweetgreen is a popular chain of locavore-friendly salad bars in New York, offering organic salads and bowls made with ingredients sourced from small and mid-size sustainable growers. Customers can customize their meals with a variety of fresh vegetables and proteins. While some patrons appreciate the diverse options and delicious, fresh food, others have experienced issues with staff attentiveness and limited seating.
Very nice salads, fresh, hearty, tasty and healthy. The Menu is confusing but I just took what I wanted and it was good. This is a place, I will add to my Menu, Expensive though!
Ankush J — Google review
I frequent sweetgreen and am a huge fan of healthy establishments like this. However, I placed a pick up order for two custom salads totaling $50+ tonight and am very disappointed with the quality. FYI neither salad was mixed in, so the funky color on the salads are not from the sauce. Really off putting when a salad restaurant puts out ingredients that have gone moldy and slimy!!! 🤮🤢 1 - 1 of the avocados we got was simply moldy. The other avocado is on the verge of turning moldy. You know when avocados are so old they are yellow/brown? Well mine had a layer of gray covering. 2 - salad was yellow, brown, and slimy. It had clearly gone past its prime and had spoiled. I’m quite livid they were able to serve this to customers. Fresh salad can get expensive and have short shelf life, but even the ones I keep in my house don’t turn slimy and yellow until at least after a week. Also, with the volume of salad SG goes through, I’m shocked they let their salad get to this state. 3 - bread several days old. Now, I can tell from most of the sg locations I’ve been to they have been paying less attention to the quality of their bread, but this one just tasted like it was at least 2+ days old. 4 - portion size. I’m not sure if this is bc I placed a pick up order, but I feel that when I order in person, I get way more food. It’s just laughable when you pay $3-4 for the three different warm extras and they give you 3-4 pieces for each ingredient. I usually frequent the midtown (56th+broadway) location and have not had problems. Besides decreasing portion sizes and increasing prices that seem to be plaguing SG, I don’t believe I’ve ever had an issue with food quality and quality control, but this experience was so poor idk if I’ll want to be returning for a while. See pics for your reference. This is a food safety & health hazard, sweetgreen.
Esther K — Google review
Our guy that took our orders was grumpy. No smile, no help, and didn’t want to be there. He couldn’t speak up and we couldn’t hear what he was saying about the sauces and nuts. It was 7pm. It was my first visit in a sweetgreen and he ruined the experience. I got crispy rice bowl and the new steak bowl. He gave one small scoop of everything. The chicken were tiny pieces. Steak was barely there. For $40 I expected better quality and service. Just got mostly arugula. Stale cold bread is unappetizing and chewy.
J C — Google review
I’ve never been more disappointed with a Sweetgreen order. I got the summer salad and the peaches were rock hard. I added grass-fed steak and it was just as bad—tough and inedible, with a taste I’d compare to cat food. I’ve been to this location before, but this was by far the worst experience. And if you order delivery or pick up, beware—they drop the thermal paper receipt right in your bowl while making it, so you end up ingesting BPA and BPS. Refer to picture.
Dalia — Google review
The restaurant balances professionalism with warmth. Incredibly delicious and plates are heaping. My go-to restaurant. Excellent location. The personnel displayed cordial manners and quick help. We can't wait to come back here.
Uggg G — Google review
If you want a fresh delicious healthy salad, this place is a must go to. I was served very quickly and the food was fresh and tasty. You can even order online which makes it more convenient.
Marie T — Google review
October 2024: Stopped by after flying in from San Francisco and was craving something healthy. Decided to try the hummus crunch salad bowl. Overall, was pleased with my meal. Service was friendly. They offered bread and hummus with my salad bowl. Hit the spot after a long travel day. Would come back again for more healthy salads.
Ken W — Google review
I love this lunch spot! This is my favorite salad spot. The various options of veggies and protein are great, and the food is always delicious and fresh. The staff on this location is so so, when I was there for the first time I felt very rushed and wasn't informed of any of my options by the staff. The other time I ordered ahead and wanted to check my order was done with the cashier but she was talking with another worker and just ignored me. The biggest downside is there are not enough tables? There are plenty of sitting areas but no tables, which is just super inconvenient. Do keep in mind this place gets packed during lunch hours!

ABC Kitchen, a stylish New American restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, has established itself as a timeless culinary gem. Nestled within ABC Carpet & Home alongside its sister eatery, ABC Cocina, this dining destination is renowned for its unwavering dedication to utilizing the freshest organic and locally-sourced ingredients.
I started with a cocktail the lychee bellini. It was nice and fruity. Then I started of with the calamari the two sauces that were with the calamari was delicious and the calamari was nice and crispy, not greasy as well which is a plus. Overall definitely recommend. Then I ordered the truffle pizza, oh my gosh let me just say this is one of the best pizzas that I had in NYC. The thin pizza crust taste so good and crispy. The truffle paired with the egg was amazing the flavors were so well executed and the chesse topped it all off. Definitely recommend. Last but not least the dessert. One of the waiters recommended the carrot cake so I was like ok let me go for it. This definitely is a great carrot cake I'm not even trying to say is your average carrot cake because is not. This carrot cake is so soft and it just melts in your mouth the icing was amazingly paired with the cake. Overall great cake definitely try it you won't be at all disappointed. The two waiters were really nice and friendly. The staff overall were all great. Thank you and definitely will be coming back.

Finally got to try one of Jean-Georges’ NYC restaurants and came to abc kitchen for Restaurant Week. Such a beautiful space with intimate lighting and a warm vibe, and the service was great from start to finish. Started with the tomato toast, which was simple but so good—crispy toast topped with ripe, flavorful tomato slices and just the right amount of seasoning. For my main, I had skate for the first time at a restaurant and it was wonderful. Tender and delicate, served over a vibrant mix of tomatoes, eggplant, and green olives that really brought it all together. Finished with the cherry pie, which was a nice finish. All in all, a very enjoyable meal. I’ll be back

Went for a Bilt Rewards special—an unbeatable deal at $60 for the full menu, plus $30 for two drinks. Food Appetizers – The roasted carrot and avocado salad was fantastic—bursting with flavor and a pleasant surprise for something I’d never normally order. Absolutely worth getting again. The pizza was fine, nothing memorable. Entrées – The fried organic chicken came in a generous portion with a bit of a spicy kick, but it wasn’t my favorite. The campanelle, on the other hand, was delicious—unexpectedly addictive and full of flavor. Desserts – The blueberry pie was just okay (I’m not much of a pie person), but the caramel popcorn sundae was a 10/10 standout. The combination of salted caramel ice cream, fudge at the bottom, and crunchy popcorn was pure perfection.

came here for a celebratory dinner for a friend and it definitely had a casual but elevated atmosphere. our server was very kind and attentive, always refilling the water and checking-in time to time. the food was good but none of it blew me away for the price. menu highlights for me: peekytoe crab toast (yum), bass (good but pricey), and side asparagus (nice surprise).
Lori L — Google review
had dinner here twice and both times left the restaurant absolutely satisfied. tried a a bunch of different dishes and everything is delicious. flavors and textures just be hitting all the taste buds in the right place. mushroom egg pizza is quite special, tartare is fresh and delightful. service is impeccable. presentation gorgeous.

Food was incredible and service was wonderful. We shared a number of items: calamari, tartar, truffle pizza, strip loin and mashed potatoes. Our favourites were the pizza and strip loin! Definitely worth coming here. Cocktails were also delicious
Emilia Z — Google review
We arrived just after 5 for restaurant week and found the place fairly empty, but it quickly became crowded and noisy. It was a bit difficult to hear the person across from me The appetizers were nice and light. The shrimp and pasta were not spicy as noted, just salty. The skate was filling, but also salty. The mini pie was crisp
Andrew L — Google review
From start to finish dinner was incredible! The crab toast was delicious with hints of dill and the toast was crispy. The dirty martini hit the spot and the vodka lemonade was very refreshing. The calamari had a yummy spicy sauce and the carrot and avacado salad was really nicely flavored. The kale caesar had a hint of mint and a bit of a kick which was surprising in a great way. Loved the fried chicken because the sauce had a kick to it as well. The pizza was devoured in seconds 🤪. And the salmon was yummy with yet again a lovely kick to it. The carrot cake and the chocolate cake were good and the sundae was truly divine, beautifully balanced. Finally the sorbet was so freshly flavorful and fruity. What a wonderful dinner from start to finish. Would recommend again and again.

Italian restaurant
Barbuto, a beloved NYC establishment, has been revitalized and now offers vibrant Italian dishes along with private dining options. The restaurant is renowned for its signature dish, the legendary JW chicken, as well as market-driven salads and seasonal pastas. The open kitchen features a wood-fired grill that adds a Cal-Med touch to the Italian cuisine.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city Have been there several times and wanna come back for sure! The food is just fantastic! you have to try their signature dish - kale salad, it’s amazing ! also their chicken is something incredible, for me it's the best combination Last time I fell in love with their meatball And of course the service and staff are great. try to make a reservation there, especially for dinner on the weekend my personal recommendation, come there during the day on brunch time on sunny day
Vlad L — Google review
We had a great early dinner here. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. We had the kale salad, the meatball and a pizza and all were superb. I don't normally like kale but that kale salad was something special. Even my kid who is a picky eater loved it!
Nancy G — Google review
Kale salad was so good and overall we really enjoyed all the food and pastas. Pistachio cake was great too. Would recommend!
Susie S — Google review
We hosted our wedding dinner reception at Barbuto BK, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel so cared for — everything ran seamlessly. The food was incredible (our guests are still talking about it!), the drinks were a hit, and the space was just beautiful for such an intimate celebration. Every detail felt thoughtful and effortless. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — thank you, Barbuto, for making our wedding night so unforgettable!
Pauline M — Google review
Last night was our third time at Barbuto, and honestly, we were very disappointed with the service. We were a group of six and ordered a pizza as an appetizer, but the staff made us wait until they could take the full order. When we finally placed it, we clearly said the pizza was a starter, but when the food arrived, they brought the pizza and the main courses all at once—except they forgot two of the dishes. Those two people ended up eating much later than the rest of us. We appreciate the gesture of removing the delayed dishes from the bill, but the service really needs improvement. We doubt we’ll return.
Agus C — Google review
My son, daughter-of-heart and I had a late lunch here. Our waiter, Eduardo, was attentive and helpful. Cleaned table and reset between courses. We ordered several dishes to share We had the focaccia(superb), a meat ball (plenty large enough for us all to have a good taste) and the kale salad to start. I hate kale...and had 2 large helpings! Main courses were roast chicken...so NOT boring chicken; pasta carbonara...make sure you are good with black pepper, which we do, so SUPERB; and the potatoes were THE BOMB! I just wish we had room for dessert!
Marylynn D — Google review
Went to Barbuto for the first time at their Horatio Street location. Last time I visited was at their Washington Street Location. Totally different vibe from before - much more of a a sterile environment, though clean with an open kitchen. The bartender, Dylan, was the best part of our evening. We insisted on crushing half a round at the bar before sitting, which the host happily obliged. That’s when service sorta…. Stopped. We sat early at 5:30. It took us around ten minutes or more for drinks, the first round at the table. Then each other round of drinks seemed also to take forever. The food was very good: Steak, Chicken, Gnocci, Burrata and Prosciutto to start with delicious bread and EVO. But we couldn’t really enjoy ourselves because we just kept waiting each time someone needed a drink. When my wife brought this up to our server, he replied that he “was very busy.” With this wait, we still spent over $200 on drinking between three people- our bill w/tip was just under $500. Noted it was a birthday on my reservation - no bday recognition once from the time we entered. Overall, while the chicken is some of the best in the city, I don’t see a need to come back. The guest is no longer central to the spirit of Barbuto’s new vibe. Side note- the service staff (bussers and runners) were incredible in execution, though not into small talk, haha.
Mick B — Google review
The Jonathan Waxman chicken is a must order. It will change your life. I almost never order chicken at restaurants but at Barbuto I will every time. The chicken is super tender and I actually enjoy the white meat. The salsa verde is the perfect compliment. The space is huge and bright; a stones throw from the floating island.

Somtum Der is a stylishly decorated Thai restaurant in the East Village, offering regional Isan cuisine from northeastern Thailand. The menu features shareable plates of fiery Isaan salads, sticky rice, and flavorful grilled meats. One of their standout dishes is the papaya salad, which has been praised as one of the best versions in the U.S., known for its perfect balance and serious spiciness.
Super cute spot serving Michelin rated Isan cuisine and have been a staple in the community for over 13 years and you can tell. Every dish was super fresh and flavorful, with some unique stuff I never tried before. I loved their chicken wings, the pork neck, the pork skewers, the Taro dessert is a must try also

Holy Crab! The Crab Pad Thai is so good! I love how each dish is thoughtfully plated to elevate your dining experience right from the get go. Then you’d find out that each dish is full of bold flavors. Somtum Der is exceptionally good (as agreed by their Michelin) because they bring to us authentic Northeastern Thai food, specifically Isan cuisines. They don’t try to change the flavor profiles to best suit Western tastes, instead, they keep their original bold flavors. That is why they are exceptionally tasty!

From the warm decor and splash of Thai flair, stepping in feels like a little trip to Thailand. The specials -- tender ribs and pork satay -- join their iconic crispy fried chicken and grilled marinated beef to bring bold Isan flavors straight from Thailand. This place is definitely must-visit! One of the most authentic Thai restaurants in NYC! 🇹🇭 Every dish I tried was packed with flavor and transported me straight to Thailand. Their mango sticky rice is hands down the best I’ve had in the city, so fresh, juicy, and perfectly sweet, even when other spots are out of seasonal mangoes. I’m also obsessed with their prawn sashimi, crispy fried chicken, and pad thai. Each one beautifully seasoned, balanced, and comforting in the best way. If you’re a real Thai food lover, this place is a must-try. I’m already planning my next visit!

I’ve been a huge fan of Somtum Der for years and it’s past time for a review! It’s one of my favorite restaurants in NY/NJ and especially when we want delicious Thai. The quality of flavors is rarely matched in most other Thai restaurants we visit around the area. For example in their pad krapow / basil rice you can smell the aromatic basil throughout the dish! We usually order their duck larb, whose contrast of sharp, acidic, and hot hot flavors are so good. We’ve tried this dish in many other restaurants but the depth of flavor has been almost unmatched. This is all to say I love this place and enjoy every visit. It’s a good thing for my wallet that I don’t live closer.

I'm allergic to wheat and dairy and this place had a menu specifically for gluten free. The meal was fantastic; I got the pad thai, which I know is such a basic order, but I knew I'd receive the most authentic pad thai i can get. It was phenomenal, and I can't wait to go back.

Somtum Der in NYC is the real deal if you’re looking for authentic Isan (Northeastern Thai) food. The flavors are bold, spicy, and exactly what you’d expect straight from Bangkok. They earned a Michelin Star back in 2016 and it makes sense why everything feels fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. The papaya salad with grilled pork neck (Tum Kor Moo Yang) was perfectly spicy and tangy, the Isan summer roll was light and refreshing, and the grilled marinated pork with coconut sticky rice was incredible. I also tried the duck larb and the basil fried rice both packed with flavor and spice that isn’t watered down for western tastes. If you love Thai food and want the authentic version, this is a must-visit in NYC.

Last night we ate dinner at Somtum Der. It used to be my favorite Thai restaurant in New York. There were four in our group and we started with larb moo (not as spicy as it has been in the past), mango with crispy salmon (fried pieces of bland airy substance that did not resemble salmon at all) and Isan summer rolls (fresh and tasty). We then ordered the pad Thai (not traditional pad Thai flavor, but tasty), beef pad kra proa (very little beef, basically a rice dish), and beef pad ki mao. The pad ki mao is usually spicy and one of my favorite dishes. But, last night it was not spicy at all.

Italian restaurant
Carbone New York is a high-end Italian restaurant located in Greenwich Village, NYC. It's known for its retro-glam space and tough-to-snag reservations, attracting celebrities like Bad Bunny and Kim Kardashian. The restaurant offers signature touches like complimentary bread and salami service, hand-cut prosciutto & mozzarella sliced tableside with designated scissors, and the famous spicy rigatoni drenched in vodka sauce.
Expectations were unreasonably high, figured it had to be all hype - feel like I've had some really excellent authentic Italian. Was wrong. Everything was incredible, experience to food. Spicy rigatoni - really good. Pork chop - amazing. The corn with truffles - insane. Fish looked great too. They even give some super fresh mozzarella at the start with some garlic bread. Tried the cheesecake and that was fine. Service was impeccable and they do seem to enforce their dress code. So keep on top of that. Was thrilled when my boy Dan was able to get reservations - hope you can enjoy the legendary spot too. Until another visit - back to the supermarket jars 😂

As a first timer at Carbone this past Friday night I truly have to say that the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere were impeccable! A HUGE thank you to the manager Alfonso, bartender Chi Chi, and our servers Marco & Carlos. Amaretto Sour is my go-to drink and Chi Chi made the best one I’ve ever tasted yet! We ordered the Caesar salad, spicy rigatoni, lobster ravioli, the meatballs, and lemon cheesecake. They were all prepared and cooked to perfection! The staff definitely made the experience for my boyfriend Alfonso & I memorable. I appreciate all the hospitality and love theyprovided throughout the night. Their service went above and beyond and exceeded all my expectations. They treated my boyfriend and I like family. This was a perfect 11pm late dinner spot. Cant wait to be back and experience this all over again - I already have another reservation booked next month!

TL;DR: Worth the hype. Great service, standout red sauce dishes, and a classic NYC atmosphere. Book early and try a late lunch for a relaxed experience. Carbone lived up to its reputation. We were visiting from LA and didn’t know what to expect, but from the moment we walked in the staff made us feel welcome. The energy is old school but fun. Our server was easily one of the best parts of the night, he was attentive, charismatic, and clearly proud of what he does. That kind of service makes a big difference. The red sauce pastas are the star here, but everything we tried had great flavor. The Caesar was sharp and balanced, and the cocktails were spot on. We came for a late lunch, which was perfect since dinner gets packed. The whole meal felt smooth, unhurried, and well worth planning ahead for. If you can get a reservation, do it. The food, service, and atmosphere all line up exactly the way you hope they will

Carbone Manhattan Carbone is truly that Italian dining experience everyone talks about and for good reason. The moment you walk in, the ambiance takes you straight into old school New York glamour with a modern, elevated twist. It’s classy, cozy, and full of energy you can feel the buzz from the moment you’re seated. The food? Impeccable. The rigatoni alla vodka is a must creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced with that signature Carbone flavor that makes it unforgettable. Every dish is crafted with precision and authenticity, from the appetizers to the entrées. You can taste the quality in every bite. The cocktails were smooth and well mixed, and the service was top tier attentive, knowledgeable, and professional without being overbearing. It’s easy to see why Carbone is a celebrity favorite it’s luxury dining that feels effortlessly cool. If you’re in Manhattan and want an Italian experience that delivers on taste, atmosphere, and energy Carbone is the spot. 🍝✨

Our group of six had an absolutely magical evening at Carbone. We went with what I’d call the “trifecta” – the rigatoni, tortellini, and ravioli – and each dish was outstanding, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. For dessert, the tiramisu was decadent, and the chef’s courtesy lemon cheesecake was the perfect refreshing finish to the meal. The atmosphere was lively yet elegant, and the staff could not have been more attentive and welcoming. They made the entire experience feel special from start to finish. Carbone delivered on every level – food, service, and ambiance. We left already planning our next visit. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience.

Visited Carbone NYC for a work lunch and had an excellent experience. The service was exceptional, and the Italian dishes were flavorful and beautifully presented. Highlights included the light and airy Carbone meatball (never thought I’d describe a meatball light & airy!), rigatoni, and lobster ravioli; all perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Since I was with a larger group, I really appreciated the thoughtful service of pre-splitting the rigatoni and serving it individually on our own plates. The cozy, intimate Greenwich Village restaurant has that classic New York charm and the menus are hilariously oversized for such a tiny space. You practically need your own table just to open one!

When a lunch reservation slot unexpectedly opened, we were delighted to enjoy Italian food as it is meant to be. Our trifecta? Rigatoni, tortellini, and meatballs. Their garlic bread trio appetizer and Caesar salad were also delicious and nearly entree serving size. Top that off with Italian flag colored cookies and you’ll say: “il magiare era eccellente!”
Ed V — Google review
Love the old school service. Baked clams, spicy vodka rigatoni, and linguine Congolese were delicious! Brunello wine + limoncello + chocolate hazelnut cake with crème anglaise for dessert was the perfect ending. The only service fault was that the waiter placed our clam order on another table, it sat on the other table for a bit, then he tried to serve it to us. We spoke to a manager who apologized and swiftly had the kitchen prepare a new clam dish. Happy with the resolution.

Estela is a stylish restaurant that offers contemporary cuisine in an intimate and informal setting. The decor features exposed brick, globe lights, and a marble bar, creating a trendy yet familiar atmosphere. Chef Ignacio Mattos showcases his modernist tendencies through an ever-changing menu of mostly small plates that blend avant-garde elements with intimacy.
Absolutely delicious, can’t believe we hadn’t been here before! Every dish was outstanding; nothing felt lacking or off. Highlights included the beef tartare, the endive, and the dumplings, which were a surprisingly light delight. The cod was fabulous, and the chocolate cake was exquisite: perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. The cocktails were also excellent. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, though the seating is a bit tight between tables and it does get loud, but hey, this is NYC. Overall, an amazing experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!
Monica T — Google review
Our table reservation for 4 was at 12.15pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly. When you step into Estela, you want to love it. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming and tranquil. The transparent glass coffee pot that accompanied the porcelain thin, handle-free cups and saucers already distinguished the restaurant from majority of its peers for me. Milk was served in a matching glass jar. As if to say, 'welcome, we want you all to stay for as long as you like and please make yourselves at home'. Emily is attentive and delightful as our server. Her smile alone packs personality. By 2.30pm, we have selected and devoured the shrimp sandwich, ricotta dumplings, Belgian endive, cured pork belly, oysters, scallops and peppers selected from Estela's lunch menu. Aesthetics, execution, and flavor. We enjoyed every dish immensely. Culinary flair paired smoothly and successfully with seasonal freshness. Estela definitely knows how to woo its guests back with finesse. The plating appeals and comforts, teasing one to imagine how potentially capable Estela is of stunning you if you come back for dinner on the same day. Appreciated the initiative on the part of the staff to arrange change of plates, refill our glasses of water and requested if we'd like to stay for dessert: Panna cotta, vinegar, and honey Chocolate cake with sesame ganache and cream Cherry sorbet with olive oil and black pepper We were too full but it's got a dessert selection that beckons one to return for the sole purpose of placating one's sweet tooth over afternoon coffee and/or tea. That's the visit I have to make with my daughter. Thank you and to be continued, Estela.

Wonderful service, great date vibe atmosphere and drinks were superb - I recommend the celery tonic. The food was delicious, specifically the black arizo; other dishes felt like they could have been pushed further in terms of flavor. Overall, a lovely experience though!
Chlodwig P — Google review
Came in for lunch. The atmosphere is comfortable and the drinks menu was innovative. The food was a mixed bag. The scallop was perfectly balanced, the celery salad lacked creativity, the omelet was well made but the kelp that was served alongside was extremely salty that threw off the whole feel of the dish. The steak was cooked perfectly and the heirloom tomato was the highlight of the dish, but it felt that the ingredients did most of the carrying of the flavor
Zixiang P — Google review
Solid, well-composed meal, just missing a few sparks. Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Estela has been around for over a decade, so compared to other Michelin starred restaurants, the reservation was fairly easy to get. While they keep their signature dishes like Endive salad evergreen, a little more than half of their menu gets rotated. However, since most of what we ordered were house signatures, they felt a little too safe. Still, nothing about the meal was mundane or disappointing. We started off with the oysters and the scallops. The scallop paired pristine, minimally treated scallops with the green snap of asparagus. Instead of the usual almond crumble, almond milk brought a creamy counterpoint and a marzipan-adjacent warmth without heavy dairy. The famous Endive salad. It was glossed with a punchy anchovy-based saline vinaigrette which somewhat masked the natural bitterness of the endives. It also softened it up a little while maintaining that crisp. Worked perfectly as a vessel to complement that nutty sweetness from Ubriaco Rosso. The fried arroz leaned more like a paella than the crispy, scorched bits I’d expected from the name. Without overloading it with seafood, the dish had a concentrated, savory, briny depth from the squid ink. Exceptionally tender squid with a nice chew, and while the romesco’s heat was subtle, I liked the occasional nutty pop from what seemed like almonds. The poached trout was our second favorite of the night. Flaky to the point of barely holding together, with gentle fat balanced by the mild, vegetal sweetness of artichoke. A beurre blanc–like sauce underneath added a rich, savory anchor. Ricotta dumplings was also one of our favorites. I was almost blanking out when I first took a bite of this and thought I was eating gnocchi. Hidden under a canopy of thinly sliced shiitake mushrooms were ricotta dumplings that were incredibly light yet pleasantly chewy. The Pecorino Sardo gave a slightly salty, sheepy finish, but my favorite part was the mushroom broth. Comforting, with a faintly funky, woodsy depth that lingered. The drinks and service were just okay, but recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for a good elevated casual restaurant.

I had dinner at Estela for my birthday with my boyfriend and received some of the worst service throughout the night. Our server James (whose name I only found out after looking through their instagram) had an attitude with us right off the bat that was extremely unwarranted. Right as we sit down i’m looking through a book that was what i assumed to be the wine list. Before i even get a chance to look, he snatches it from my hand and says that’s the drinks are on the other side of the menu. The attitude did not stop there and that interaction set the tone for the rest of the dinner. It felt like he was doing us a favor by dining there and that was the overall feeling from the hospitality. Although my boyfriend marked that it was a birthday dinner on the reservation, there was no mention of a celebration from any person. The hostesses were also extremely cold. Absolutely no hello or goodbye as we entered the restaurant. Everyone just seemed like they were too good for the place. I expect a base level of formality or just friendliness from a one star but this is the worst one star restaurant i’ve been to by far. Food was hit or miss, we liked the beef tartare and lamb the most but the endive salad was extremely salty and that’s coming from someone who eats on the saltier side. Ricotta dumplings were okay and arroz negro was good.
Andrew K — Google review
Estela, which means "star" in Spanish, is a one-Michelin-star restaurant in New York that has a unique charm. The entrance features a small blue door that’s easy to miss, marked only by a light sign with the restaurant’s name; it’s so difficult to open that instructions were provided. The atmosphere reflects classic New York style, characterized by humble wooden chairs and tables, dim lighting, and tables that are quite close together. As is common in New York, the restaurant is noisy, with 80s classics playing at a high volume, making it challenging to hold a conversation without raising your voice. Personally, I prefer quieter places, so I deducted one point for the noise level. The service was satisfactory, and the wine list was impressive, offering a diverse selection of French, Austrian, and German wines (though there were no Italian whites), with options across a wide price range. The sommelier, a friendly French gentleman from Toulouse, was eager to assist with suggestions. Our waiter, Katherine, was very kind as she explained the menu and highlighted popular dishes. The food was truly outstanding and undoubtedly deserving of its Michelin star. We began our meal with oysters, tuna, an endive salad, and foie gras (which may be one of the best things I've ever tasted). We also enjoyed arros negro, dim sum, and panna cotta. The portion sizes were suitable for sharing, and the dishes arrived at a perfect pace, allowing us to savor each course.

I celebrated my birthday here with my cousin, and it was such a memorable experience! They recommend to order all at once and they bring in the dishes one or 2 at a time. We had 8 dishes, and each one was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. The staff explained each dish, which made it even more enjoyable. My favorites were the Cured Tuna, Endives, Fried Arroz Negro, Berkshire Pork, and Venison. The place and table spaces are tight but cozy, loud and busy. The servers were fantastic, always attentive and making sure we had everything we needed, filling up our water and taking the empty dishes away. A reservation is definitely a must. Highly recommend for a special evening!

The store also features a well-regarded hot bar with a focus on Indian cuisine and provides convenient parking with free validation. In addition to its extensive product range, Whole Foods is known for offering fresh produce in a clean and spacious environment.
Great place to shop with validated parking for 90 min when you spend $10. 5 min walk from Grove Path. Plenty of 365 products that are affordable and great quality. Check out the meat department for that old style butcher feel and buy some truffle butter to smother your steak in! Seafood has a special on oysters every Friday. Plenty of things to fit any budget

While on a leisurely walk with my mother during our vacation, we decided to make a detour into this Whole Foods—and I’m glad we did. The entire experience felt like an extension of our peaceful day. The store was spacious, well-ventilated, and blissfully easy to navigate. No chaos, no clutter—just smooth aisles and shelves stocked with exactly what we needed, all at reasonable prices. Special thanks to Ms. Michelle, the supervisor who handled our checkout with such warmth and professionalism that she elevated the whole visit. In fact, give her a raise. She earned it. This wasn’t just a shopping trip—it was a reminder that even errands can be part of a good day when done right.

Great store! Food is great quality and prices aren’t bad at all, especially 365 brand. Having a parking lot in this area is amazing, and it’s free for 90 minutes when you spend at least $10 in store. The only downside is it gets really busy, but it’s still maneuverable.

Update on January 6th, 2025. There was a time when Whole Foods was a great store before Amazon owned it. Just returned from vacation and went to get some groceries. There was nothing on the shelves. This doesn’t happen at Trader Joe’s. They prepare before the store opens. It was so frustrating to shop there on a Monday morning, note to self not to do it again and to get to Trader Joe’s instead. When I asked for help locating some produce, the employee told me he didn’t know if they had any that he just got there and continued loading his lettuce, not interested in helping at all. He said there’s nothing on the shelves because yesterday was Sunday and busy! Really? #TraderJoe’s please come to Jersey City! No fresh pizza dough! Sold out by 3:00. In the past in NY and CA, the pizza chef is happy to share the dough. Not here. Nothing in frozen either except cauliflower and almond crust. Only whole wheat in the bread section and nothing in front end. Now that owned by Amazon, service is down and unhelpful. #traderjoes we need you! Please come to Jersey city! Update: On Sunday June 8 and Monday June 9 there was so many bear shelves once again. Heard on the news that this was due to a cyber security attack on a distributor. No signs warning shoppers except on empty shelves. Have not heard a peep from Whole Foods.

This is my favorite Whole Foods in the New York area because it has an awesome hot and cold salad bar for $11.99/pound with a great upstairs eating area. A good place to grab a healthy lunch, chill in AC, refill the water bottle and go to the bathroom. It’s not crowded and the staff is nice. 10/10

This is the closest Whole Foods to me and I visit whenever I need to pick up something, but every visit the store has at least one dog roaming around. Small dogs, large dogs - it doesn't mater. Yes, the store has a "No Pets Allowed" sign posted, but it's rarely enforced and last time I pointed out a dog sniffing around the produce next to their owner, an employee told me it's "above their pay grade" to do something about it. Sounds like it's time to travel a bit further for groceries and find an alternative store to shop for food. I don't mind dogs, but it's unsanitary to have them around open food that people purchase and consume.

I’m new to this area, and I’ve been to a lot of Whole Foods in different cities and states. After shopping at this one for about a month, I’ve decided not to come back. Some of the employees have an attitude and seemed annoyed when I asked for help. They really need to work on their customer service. As a loyal Whole Foods shopper, I just wish there was another location nearby.
Minhee C — Google review
I absolutely love this place! They always have freshly roasted coffee — you can really taste the difference. The fruits are top quality, always fresh and flavorful. It’s one of those spots where you can count on the quality every time. My only complaint is that they stop selling pizzas at 8pm, which really doesn’t make much sense. It’s a bit disappointing if you’re craving one later in the evening.

Chopt is a popular fast-casual chain with over 70 locations across several states. At Chopt, customers can customize their own salads or wraps from a wide selection of ingredients. The portions are generous, and the food is known for being both delicious and healthy. In addition to salads and wraps, they also offer warm grain bowls. The chain has garnered praise for its quick and professional service as well as its cleanliness. Customers have particularly enjoyed the kale and green goddess dressing combination.
Chopt on 100 Park ave has became my favorite place to eat in the city. The different varieties of topping and dressing are out of this world. I cant seem to get tired of these salads. The workers are always wiping down, cleaning and making sure they do it in a timely manner. I love the people at this Chop’t, they are the best. Advice to management: go back to chopping the proteins! It ruins the salad if the key ingredient is not chopped up. I can’t and don’t want to eat a whole shrimp all in one bite. And it leaves all the other bites as mostly just lettuce, which is unpleasant. So now I have to awkwardly cut them up at my desk with a plastic knife? Why????

Steak house
Keens Steakhouse, a classic Midtown establishment, has been serving up enormous steaks and signature mutton chops since 1885. The clubby, wood-paneled rooms exude history and charm, with the ceiling beams adorned with old tobacco pipes once belonging to icons like Theodore Roosevelt and Buffalo Bill Cody. This legendary NYC steakhouse was even recognized by the James Beard Foundation in 2013 with an Americas Classics Award.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Keen’s Steakhouse, and it absolutely lived up to its legendary reputation — especially when it came to their famous mutton chop. The chop was cooked to perfection — beautifully seared on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. The seasoning was spot-on: rich, savory, and expertly balanced to highlight the deep, hearty flavor of the meat. It’s a cut that commands attention, and Keen’s delivers it with confidence and tradition. Service was excellent — attentive without being overbearing. The staff clearly know the menu and the restaurant’s storied history, and it adds to the charm of the whole experience. What really sets Keen’s apart, though, is the atmosphere. The dining rooms are steeped in history, with thousands of antique clay pipes hanging from the ceiling — each one telling a story. You can’t help but pause when you spot the most famous names, like Babe Ruth and Teddy Roosevelt. It’s like dining in a museum of New York’s past. In all, if you’re a fan of classic steakhouses and want a bite of history, Keen’s mutton chop is a must-try. It’s an iconic dish in an iconic setting — and one I’d happily return for.

Keens is 110% worth the hype. The ambience is top notch where you can hear others you are with. It’s very elegant inside. The staff was very attentive to our table and we had an amazing waitress! I never got her name but she made our night one to remember! All cuts of meat were phenomenal, the mutton, t bone, prime rib, all amazing. I thought the prime rib was very standout and a must have. For appetizers, the calamari salad and bacon were perfect starters. Bacon is a must-buy! Overall, it’s definitely worth it. I recommend doing a Resy Notify and hope to score a good time. Otherwise, you will have to book far out. Regardless it’s super worth it!

Amazing experience with fantastic meat! The deco was very distinctive and interesting and felt very historic Ordered sirloin, lamb chops and the famous mutton. Food was exceptional and cooked well. There was a slight mix up but changed immediately and staff very attentive and friendly. Had a football top on as was out all day and watched Arsenal game and even met a fellow fan in the form of the waiter lol Was really good experience and slightly pricey but worth it and one of the only places on visit where we were happy to pay a little more for tips Remember to reserve too as get booked up

Was recommended by a local NY friend to try Keens steakhouse, we ordered a starter the fillet bacons with Caesar salad , lobster bisque, as for main the T-bone steak, Fillet mignon & two sides. We tried the house red and keens’ lemonade and ginger ale. We enjoyed the food and drinks. The quality of food was excellent and it’s not pricy at all.

I had a wonderful dinner at Keen Steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the cool atmosphere and the exceptionally friendly staff. The service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing. For the main course, I ordered the filet mignon, which was absolutely divine and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Don't skip dessert! The New York cheesecake was a highlight, rich and creamy, and a fantastic way to finish the evening.

Wonderful food, service and ambiance. We came for a birthday celebration and the staff made it so special. Made the reservation a month in advance for prime time Saturday night. We loved the prime rib, fabulous! They came and sang happy birthday with a slice of cheesecake that made it so special. The room itself is really cool to see the pipes on the ceiling. It’s a huge restaurant with lots of rooms. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!

Came here on a referral from a top Long Island steakhouse owner. The host greeted us warmly and accommodated our request to sit a half hour sooner than our reservation. Great table in the back in the pipe room. History of the place adds to the ambience. Lively atmosphere but not loud. Brenna and her team gave us great service and helped us celebrate my son's birthday. The filet mignon was cooked to order and tender. Same with porter house. Portions were generous. The Caesar salad was just okay. Same with the broccoli/cauliflower. Carrot cake is outstanding! Prices are on par with good steak houses.

Decided to try their lunch menu. Opted for the bavette steak sandwich. The portion is generous, and the sandwich perfectly delicious, which comes with an option of either salad or fries. The ambiance is intimate with an historical feel. The bar area is also splendid. Do book ahead as it can be crowded for lunch. The staff and waiters are nice which contributes to the good vibes.

Balthazar is an iconic French brasserie known for its steak frites, brunch, and pastries. After a yearlong closure due to the pandemic, the restaurant has reopened with 102 seats for outdoor dining. The charming space attracts a fashionable crowd who enjoy comfort food like Gruyere-topped French onion soup gratinee and herbaceous steak tartare from Balthazar's boulangerie next door.
Absolutely loved it here! We’ve wanted to try this spot for awhile; I’m so glad we were able to come for dinner. We didn’t have reservations, showed up at 4:40 and they told us to come back at 5:00 pm, because that’s when they begin seating for dinner. I ordered an iced tea, steak frites, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything was delicious and very fresh. There was plenty to share and the sides we ordered were for the table. I’ll definitely be back again soon to order the steak again. It was the best steak I’ve gotten in the city; it was juicy and hot. I loved it. We want to come back for brunch too; their breakfast options looked great too. There is also a pastry shop next door where you can order drinks and snacks. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I’ll definitely be back again soon.

We had a nice early dinner here on our trip to the city. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is everything you’d expect. The food was great but did not quite live up to the expectations. We ordered the steak frites, gougeres, onion soup, ravioli, and short rib. Of the meal we would recommend the steak frites—the fries were amazing! The onion soup is also a must-order. The short rib was a bit dry. One thing to be mindful of when dining here is the proximity to neighbors, they really pack everyone they can get in here. Overall, would recommend going to cross it off the list.

I went to Balthazar on a Monday night and had such a great experience! I was seated right away and my server, Madeline, was super kind and attentive. She offered me a complimentary mocktail as soon as I sat down — it was originally a champagne, but since I don’t drink, she happily swapped it for a ginger mocktail, which was really good. This was my first time at Balthazar, and everything I ordered was amazing — the French onion soup, steak frites, profiteroles, and coffee. The soup was rich and flavorful, my steak was cooked perfectly (medium well, just right), and dessert was the perfect finish. Service was excellent — Madeline checked on me at just the right times, and I never had to look around for her. Everything was delicious, and I left super happy with my experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Great atmosphere and vibe. Amazing service and a must do if visiting NY. Food is your classic style French bistro food. I Booked well in advance or be prepared to wait 1-2 hours for a seat if you try a walk in.

We had a lovely early dinner here during our city trip. The staff were super friendly, and the vibe was warm and lively. The food was delicious—especially the truffle fries and onion soup! The short rib could’ve been a bit more tender, but overall everything was great. Tables are a little close, but that’s part of the charm. Definitely worth a visit!

Our plane back to NY was delayed so we cancelled our reservation and ended up at Balthazar at 11p on a Wednesday. The dining was lively and mostly full when we arrived. We were seated I a 2 top, corner booth that was perfect, and very comfortable. I ordered a gin martini that was served ice cold. My wife and I split the endive salad (I love the pickled pears), a cheeseburger with fries delicious), haricot vert (perfectly cooked and so fresh) and a caramelized and bruleed banana tart (gorgeous and excellent). When we left, well after midnight, the bar was still crowded with patrons enjoying themselves and bartenders who weren’t trying to rush them. What a nice and fun night! Thanks Keith. Also, I really enjoyed your book.

Hill Country Barbecue Market is a rustic-chic eatery in Texas that offers Southern-style cooking, including exemplary fried chicken and barbecue dishes. The cafeteria-style setup allows guests to feast their eyes on cast-iron skillets of chicken and various sides like creamy mashed potatoes and pimento macaroni and cheese. The menu also features more than 12 assortments of pie, baked in-house, as well as an array of beverages.
Holy moly! Best brisket sandwich I’ve ever had. Lit up every single neuron in my brain. Onions are nice and sweet the bun brings it together with a nice texture (pickles also add a good crunch) AND THE MEAT. No diddy, so tender! Tears apart at suggestion. Shout out to great service from Joby.
Icarus D — Google review
Hill Country brings a big slice of Texas right into the heart of Manhattan. The moment you step in, you’re surrounded by wood-paneled walls, long communal tables, and neon signs pointing you toward live music and the bar downstairs—it’s a whole immersive vibe. The ordering system feels like a fun cafeteria-meets-barbecue market hybrid: you get in line by the giant chalkboard that says “LINE STARTS HERE,” pick your meats and sides from the counter, and carry everything to your table. It’s casual and lively, with a solid drink selection (including Mexican Cokes in ice bins and a well-stocked liquor bar). I had the brisket sandwich with cucumber salad. The brisket was super tender and generously portioned, though personally it leaned a little too smoky for my taste. The cucumber salad was crisp and refreshing—a great contrast to the heaviness of the meat. The upstairs space is warm and bustling, while the downstairs offers a darker, honky-tonk lounge feel with a stage for live music. This place would be great for a big group dinner or a night out with friends looking for good BBQ and a fun, unpretentious atmosphere.
Yunong S — Google review
This place is a quick, laid-back, cafeteria-style spot to grab some delicious Texan barbecue. We ordered some lean brisket, sausage, sweet mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese, all of which arrived in a matter of minutes. The atmosphere is loud, rowdy, and distinctly Texan. After we ordered, there was a strange hiccup—there were no utensils available. After we finally received our silverware, we dived into our food, hopeful it would be worth the effort. However, the food itself did not fully meet our expectations. The sausage was quite spicy, but still buttery and juicy. The brisket, however, was not as great. It was somewhat dry, and lacked sufficient flavor. The sweet mashed potatoes were probably the best thing—they were sweet and nutty, yet perfectly creamy. The Mac and cheese wasn’t mind blowing, but there wasn’t anything necessarily wrong with it. Overall, this place is a nice place to grab some Texan barbecue—if you don’t mind a couple problems on the way.

I just came across this restaurant on Sunday while walking from the train station & decided to stop in for lunch. I sat at the bar. (even though I decided not to have any alcohol that day) They had a large selection of whiskey & bourbon in the area of the bar I was sitting. It looked as though they make a ton of margaritas since they had slushy machines behind the bar. I ordered the dry aged brisket burger which came with fries & since they had bourbon mashed sweet potatoes on the menu I had to try that. I should have read the menu more carefully. I thought since it said dry aged that the burger would be one solid piece of brisket. However it’s a blend & was an actual chopped meat style burger. I wasn’t asked how I would like it prepared so it was a little rarer than I’m used to. When my waitress asked me how everything was I mentioned that in casual conversation & to my surprise I wasn’t charged for the bourbon sweet potatoes. (Totally wasn’t expecting that) They have several dinning areas on two floors. Ranging from small tables & bar seating on the ground floor to large picnic tables & bar seating downstairs where there was a stage set up for live music. Most likely for the dinner crowd. There were a few other dishes on the menu I’d like to try & since the customer service was good I’ll stop by the next time I’m in the area.

Missing home, craving that good ol texas bbq so I had to come here and see what the deal is. Honestly, I enjoyed it! Hill Country does a solid job. I got the lunch special which gets you a sandwich, a side, and a drink. For the sandwich I went with the Sliced Brisket. It was tender, cooked and seasoned well, had a nice thick bark to it that I really loved. Onions and pickles were good. I thought the BBQ sauce was fine, it was dispensed from a bottle at the table but I wish it was provided warm instead. That usually is a game changer for BBQ sauce! For the side I got the Mac and Cheese which was great. No downsides here! I also tried the Buffalo Cauliflower which was kinda a miss to me. Like the cauliflower was good but there wasnt much buffalo flavor, the sauce itself was very liquidy / watery, not like a thick buffalo sauce you expect. I am really sad about the sweet tea though, I was so looking forward to getting that authentic southern sweet tea but the one here was sour? May have been a bad batch but I had to just get a diet coke instead. The vibe and decor inside was straight out of Texas though, I loved it!

The place looks good and the food tastes good as well. However I wouldn't call it excellent neither mediocre, somewhere in the middle. The prices were too expensive for what you actually get, the platter for two people can be eaten by one big guy. Not value for money at all. You don't really get any service either as it's cafeteria style where you pick up everything yourself. Will not visit again unless I need a very quick meal, because it was extremely quick.

This. Place. Was. Soooooo. Good!! I never get BBQ food because I underestimate places but for my book club, we chose to go here because it related to one of the characters. I was first taken aback by having to order the food at the counter and bring it to your table. It was giving cafeteria vibes. However, once I had the food, I I forgot all about that. I got the two meats and two sides. My two meats were pulled pork and the moist brisket. The pulled pork. It was nice juicy and flavorful. It wasn't saucy, which was my only complaint. The brisket was so tender, so moist l, and so flavorful. My two sides were the mac & cheese and the baked beans. The mac & cheese was cheesy and delicious. The baked beans were not too sweet and complemented everything. To add it, had brisket inside of it. The meal also came with too many cornbread, which were a little bit dry and I didn't love the butter that it came with, but it still did what it needed to do. I highly recommend coming here. I can't wait to go back!

Nestled in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, La Bonne Soupe is a charming café that has been delighting diners for over 40 years. This cozy spot, founded by Jean-Paul and Monique Picot, serves up a delightful array of classic French dishes with an American twist. The menu features beloved staples like French onion soup, quiche, and crepes alongside fresh salads and delectable desserts.
This restaurant has been a staple in my family since I’ve been a child, and I am so glad that it has remained faithful to the French culture and food that I’ve grown up with. The food is absolutely delicious, menu filled with a multitude of options for every guest. I always recommend their soupe à l’oignon & mousse au chocolat. I went with my friend; we had their moules frites and bœuf bourguignon & it was amazing. Highly recommend dropping here if you’re missing a taste of France or even if you’re looking for a great place to dine.

This BEST French onion soup in the city. Every time I go it's an utter delight. It's a very cozy vibe inside and I love to go with friends for a nice relaxing and simple french dinner with amazing flavors. My go to is their dinner prefix menu which is soup or salad, entree, then dessert. I always get the same thing: starting with the French onion soup. The flavors are INSANE. Perfectly crispy cooked cheese on top, the right about of croutons for the consistency, and the beef and sherry flavor just blows my mind every time. When I say they make the best French onion soup, I dare you to try this and tell me one better. It blows them all out of the water! The steak frites is always my entree and the sauce is just so thick, creamy, and an absolutely flavor explosion (bet you haven't heard that one in a while lol) it truly is! Then the dessert... not only is it decadent and delicious but it's always camera ready...by that I mean you're absolutely gonna wanna film yourself pouring the indulgent chocolate on top of it. It gets the people going! This is one of my absolute favorite places to go for a meal in the city, and I hope they continue to be amazing. Well done, La Bonne. Well done.

Nice place for really good dinner and warm conversation. Ordered Butternut Squash & Bacon soup (was perfectly balanced), soups de jour (tomato taste) and gnocchi. Portions are good, food came on time and hot. Bread was tasty and served with soup. The cranberry juice was also good.

An old midtown classic that consistently delivers a solid meal. One of the few places I know where you can get a nice fondue meal. The fondue is what draws me there not sure I would necessarily go out of my way to go there otherwise since it’s not convenient, but it’s a solid spot in Midtown, especially for children and out of town guests and it’s cozy in the winter.

Cute little spot. Unfortunately we were greeted rudely by the waitress. She was blonde with a ponytail and bad accent. Think she was bothered when she saw us come in with 3 kids. Could have been a better experience but after her attitude we didn’t stay for long and only ordered a dessert and wine. If you are going to work in customer service have a better attitude and smile.

We went there for our team lunch. It is a cute place and our waiter was very friendly. The lunch deal was pretty good too. As for food - it was just too much cheese and heavy. I should have picked a salad instead of onion soup.

Buvette is a charming bistro that offers a French small-plates menu throughout the day. Inspired by European traditions, it prioritizes the enjoyment of food and drink, emphasizing history, craft, and design. Established in 2011 in New York's West Village, Buvette Gastrotheque embodies the essence of French cuisine while resonating with craftsmanship. Whether you're craving an espresso, leisurely lunch, or late-night cocktail, Buvette welcomes visitors at any time.
Buvette, located in the heart of the West Village, is part bar, part café, and part restaurant. This was my third time here, and it certainly won't be my last. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere transports you to a cozy European restaurant, with a charming vibe. The space is small but incredibly well-thought-out, featuring a few tables in a lovely garden area and some spots outside for prime people-watching. The restaurant has a vibe that makes you want to be there all the time. We tried several items from the menu, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. Buvette is a place that truly delivers on its promise of a wonderful dining experience.

If you’re looking for something a bit different in the West Village. It’s one of a few locations globally which makes it feel extra special. We came for brunch and were glad we arrived early—it gets busy quickly (long wait line). The cappuccino was great, and the pastries were perfect. The breakfast offerings are on the lighter side, but everything was fresh and simple. Seating is a bit tight, but the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Great food and service! Do not expect American oversized portions. The servings are typical of what you would get in France. Freshly squeezed orange juice with lotsa pulp. The Belgian Waffle didn't need any syrup at all. The fruits and toppings added enough flavor. The tap (still) water tastes very decent. Couldn't smell or taste any chlorine. Definitely will go back!

We came here for breakfast! We ordered the Belgian Waffle, Waffle Sandwich, Cappuccinos, and Tartine with Prosciutto, Fig Crostini, Goat Cheese, and Honey. Everything was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh! We also wanted to try the Chocolate Mousse, but that’s for another time. That’s why we’re coming back! They have both indoor and outdoor seating which a very small, cute patio. The service was excellent! Highly recommend it!

Walked in. Line looked really long (>10 groups ahead), but we were still seated in ~20 mins. The avocado toast, eggs and salmon were all excellent. I thought the orange juice was just okay. Our table was a bit cramped / close to the group beside us (they really cram as many people as possible into their space). Overall happy and would like to come back.

Buvette is more than just a restaurant; it’s a delightful escape that effortlessly transports you to a quiet corner of Paris. Nestled on the beautiful, tree-lined Grove Street, Chef captures the essence of le bon vivant—the pleasure of good food, drink, and simple enjoyment—at any hour of the day. The ambiance is simply unmatched. The space is small, intimate, and meticulously curated, filled with antique keepsakes, marble accents, and a general air of timeless European charm. While the seating is cozy and close-knit (part of its signature appeal), the atmosphere is warm, tranquil during off-peak hours, and wonderfully bustling during prime brunch and dinner times. Whether you snag a tiny table, squeeze into a seat at the bar, or enjoy the charming outdoor patio, the setting is instantly captivating. The food, committed to simplicity and high-quality ingredients, consistently receives rave reviews. For breakfast and brunch, the signature dishes are a must-try. The Waffle Sandwich, made with a light-as-air buttermilk waffle, smoked bacon, gruyère, and a drizzle of maple syrup, is legendary for its sweet and savory perfection. Other standouts include the various Croques (Monsieur, Madame, or Forestier with mushrooms) and the perfectly moist steamed eggs, often served with prosciutto or chèvre. For dinner and late-night snacks, the small plates shine, with classics like the decadent Aligot (a must-have cheesy, mashed potato fondue), excellent house-made pâtés, and the flavorful Coq Au Vin served in a small Staub pot. Don't leave without trying one of their simple, classic desserts like the fabulous Tarte Tatin or the perfect Chocolate Mousse. From the meticulously crafted cocktails to the thoughtfully selected French wines, Buvette truly is a beloved mainstay for savoring high-quality food and drink made with care. It's an excellent choice for a romantic date, an intimate catch-up with friends, or just finding a quiet moment of pure, culinary enjoyment.

We had a lovely Saturday brunch at Buvette, a charming little French spot. It was busy around 11 AM, and we waited about 40 minutes, but it was worth it! The helpful staff managing the line checked in often with updates, and the servers were all very attentive. Just a heads up, your whole party needs to be physically present before you can be seated. The space is a bit tight, but the food made up for it. We had cappuccinos one with oat milk and one with regular milk, ginger tea (which I really enjoyed), freshly squeezed OJ so good, chevre the steamed eggs that were so fluffy and light, pain perdu that wasn't too sweet, croque madame, waffle sandwich, and almond croissants. Everything was delicious! FYI-No reservations, walk-in only.

Despite not taking reservations, the eatery draws in crowds, including celebrities like George Clooney and Bill Murray. The chef sources the finest swordfish, red snapper, octopus, and squid from local markets each morning to prepare simple yet flavorful dishes on the grill or stovetop.
We had a wonderful experience. It was my first time here, but my friend had been here before. We didn't have to wait for a table but got seated right away which was a pleasant surprise. The food was great! I loved the spreads, the octopus, the baby shark, also all the sides, and the ginger mint mocktail. I am coming back to this Astoria gem!

Nice bright blue and white colors. Plenty of inside and outside dining available. The oysters were nice. The grilled octopus 🐙 was the highlight of my visit. I should have stopped with those two dishes. I had the stuffed shrimp. Visually appealing. Way too much stuffing on each shrimp, and the shrimp were chewey and overcooked. Staff was friendly, and the service was good.

We visited Taverna Kyclades and had a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable—every staff member, even those who weren’t our primary server, made sure we had everything we needed. For appetizers, we enjoyed crab cakes with fried zucchini. For dinner, my husband had a white fish stuffed with crab meat, while I had a pasta dish featuring five types of seafood: octopus, mussels, clams, scallops, and shrimp. Every bite was full of flavor, and the portions were incredibly generous—we had to take half of our food home and enjoyed it for a couple more days! Overall, the combination of excellent service, delicious food, and large portions made this a truly delightful dining experience.

Delicious Greek food in the heart of Astoria, Queens. Even though I liked the old location better, the new location is 2 blocks away from the old location. Waiting time is about 45 minutes and you can’t reserve before you go. It’s difficult to find parking in the main street but you can find parking in the streets a little bit far from the restaurant. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

The place feels a bit packed inside, and we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table for two on a Friday night, definitely a popular spot. The portions are generous. We tried the grilled octopus, which was flavorful and tender, though the spices were a bit overpowering. The seafood pasta was just okay, plenty of meat, but nothing particularly memorable. The lemon roasted potatoes leaned more boiled than roasted. On a brighter note, the free dessert was a delicious surprise.

The Butcher's Daughter is a vegetarian and vegan cafe with locations in West Village and Williamsburg. The beachy California vibes create a Zen-like atmosphere, perfect for starting the day. While the restaurant is mostly targeted towards vegetarians as opposed to vegans, we were very impressed with the amount of dishes they'll happily make vegan with swaps. There are no meat products so there's a little more confidence that a mistake won't be made. We opted for a country breakfast (made vegan from a veggie standard) and the lemon waffles and weren't disappointed. The food came quickly and both dishes were delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. The place opens very early by NYC standards, so, if like us, you're visiting and want to make the most of your time here then it's a good place to go to before the shops open.

It was my first time dining at a vegetarian restaurant, and I was truly impressed! The food was absolutely amazing — full of flavor and beautifully presented. My favorite dishes were the fried mushrooms, carbonara spaghetti, and for dessert, the pistachio brownies with pistachio ice cream — all so delicious! The staff were super friendly, and the drink I had was just as great. Such a memorable experience that changed the way I see vegetarian food. I’ll definitely be back!

I was really excited for this meal since the place is fully vegetarian/vegan, but I wasn’t too impressed even though the pancakes were pretty good. The interior could be nicer and cleaner since the table, seats, and floor were all kind of dirty, so I wasn’t able to fully enjoy my time.

This spot is definitely Instagram-worthy, and the plate presentation was amazing. I really enjoyed the hummus. However, the burger and pizza were a bit greasy, which was a letdown. It's a shame when the food at such a great-looking place doesn't quite meet the high expectations

I absolutely love The Butcher’s Daughter. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I am very passionate about plant forward dishes made with Whole Foods and good for you ingredients. The Butcher’s Daughter makes food that is exploding with delicious, unique, and also classic flavors, while using only the highest quality of ingredients, and it shows. The food tastes amazing and makes you feel amazing. We got the Buckwheat Pancakes and they were truly the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. Flavor and texture were incredible and they were perfectly paired with fresh berries, coconut whip and real maple syrup. The Mediterranean bowl had an excellent green tahini sauce, and the pastry sampler allowed us to try 3 pasties for $10 and came with the most fresh jam! I love their fresh juices, especially the juice flight!!! They have an amazing cacao reishi mushroom elixer I love. Excellent kale Caesar! I want to try the whole menu. This time though the pancakes stole the show. SO GOOD!!!! Love this place so, so much. And the VIBES, immaculate!

A great spot for anyone who enjoys healthy food. The dishes were flavorful and made with quality ingredients! I’d gladly come back for another meal

We ordered our food at the smaller branch, and with the supervisor’s permission, we moved to the larger one next door. Unfortunately, the staff member with arms tattoos and cap at the big shop was extremely rude and spoke to us disrespectfully in front of everyone, even though we had permission to move. Very disappointing experience — such behavior is unacceptable and ruined what could have been a pleasant visit.

The food was amazing. I had the country breakfast. Only criticism I had to say is the impossible burger was dry. The kale was perfect! The buckwheat pancakes was good. Texture was great. They have to do a better job with the pizza. The crust was soggy but the taste was good. The vitality elixer was good with a nice ginger and lemon punch 🥊. Our waiter, Erick, was attentive, professional and great. The ambiance is beautiful. It was a great experience. Happy Father’s Day.

Hillstone is an upscale chain restaurant known for its stylish and spacious ambiance, serving a variety of American dishes including burgers and steaks. Customers praise the consistently good food, cocktails, and service at this establishment. The environment is described as comfortable and energetic, making it a great spot for dining with friends or family. While the place can be busy and reservations are recommended, patrons appreciate the attentive wait staff who ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Was not expecting this to live up to the hype but I was happily wrong. The service here was amazing. Chelsea was a phenomenal waitress who answered all of our questions about allergies and sharing portions etc. There’s nothing better than having your chilled glass refreshed with a new chilled glass halfway through the meal. Food also was delicious. The veggie burger wasn’t my favorite but I wasn’t upset by it. Everything else I got I would order again. The best bite was by far the mango sushi roll. So refreshing and light 10/10 recommend. My one note atmosphere wise is that it felt like I was sitting in a desk chair and the lighting seemed to change throughout the meal which was a bit distracting.

Deviled eggs was quite good actually. French dip wasn't particularly special. A bit bland and wasn't hot. You get the oily brioche and some flavor from the horseradish sauce and the 3 pieces of cilantro. My main course was served before my appetizer odlly enough, so I set my main aside until my appetizer arrived and I had finished it.

I came on an early Monday afternoon. I got to the place at 12:55 but my reservation was for 01:30. The front desk told me that I would have to wait until exactly 01:30 for a booth, unless I wanted to sit at the bar. The place was packed, except for the bar. Quickly, the bar filled up as I continued to wait until 01:16, when they finally had a table ready for me. I ordered everything as soon as I sat down, but some of the questions that I had about the food had to be done by the actual waitress for that area because they do some type of server rotation. Let's get into the food: I ordered the coconut shrimp sushi, the artichoke and spinach dip and the french dip sandwich with fries. The artichoke/spinach dip was served first, quickly followed by the sushi. The sushi was amazing and they gave me a bottle of unmarked soy sauce, but since I didn't know what it was I didn't touch it. There was chipolte mayo sauce, dijon mustard and wasabi that I ate with it. The artichoke/spinach dip that I received tasted good and if you finish the chips they come by with more. I could tell they really wanted to fill me up before the main course. The main course was outstanding. I didn't know a sandwich could be that good. The rib eye really shines through with the butter toasted french roll. I also added cooked onions which added more flavor. The french fries that it comes with, they can keep that. It tasted like a warmed version of those potato stick chips that you buy at the deli. I did not get desert, although I was interested in their fall cheesecake. I was full and didn't feel like carrying food home. The waitress did say that I can come in and order to go. I believe they cannot do fries or ice-cream when ordering out. Maybe next time, I'll get the lamb sandwich. Inside the restaurant is very dark, there is a light that hangs directly above the table.
CL G — Google review
So my advice is to be sure to make a reservation. It is nearly impossible to get a table without. Yes you can walk-in, but when they reach their capacity, they will turn you away. Food- delicious. The pictures I posted is just a sneak peak. Be sure to order the ribs. They are tasty and cooked to perfection. The spicy tuna roll has the right texture balance (a little crunchy and a little kick). You also have to get the spinach and artichoke dip. Needless to say, everything is good. Come hungry and leave satisfied.

*This review is written by someone who is not a big meat eater. * I came here for lunch with my husband on Labor Day with gorgeous weather outside at around 1:30pm with no reservation. This restaurant is localized branding of the national Houston’s chain. It is believed that one of the reasons they changed the name locally to avoid calorie posted regulations in NY that impact restaurants with multiple locations. It is almost impossible to get a reservation here during peak hours which I think is wild for a place that is a chain restaurant. They open reservations 30 days in advance of the date you wish to dine. When we walked in, we were told only seats at the bar were available on a first come basis. We opted for the bar and ended up waiting about 20 minutes. Especially in New York City, I don’t eat meat (exception fish and seafood) very often for a variety of reasons. I NEVER eat poultry (knowingly). This menu is very meat forward. I was excited to try to the spinach and artichoke dip but even that contains chicken stock. The food that I did find to enjoy was good. All people eating other meat dishes seemed very happy. The decor and vibe of the restaurant feels like suburbs upscale. All of the servers were very nice and professional. I likely would seek out another meal at this restaurant especially given the meat forward menu and high prices. If someone had a reservation and invited me to attend, I wouldn’t protest but wouldn’t look forward to it. I wouldn’t wait to be seated ever again.

Very nice place with quite interior and dimmed lights. Pretty quiet, so you don’t need to do extra to talk. Service was there. Wouldn’t say the most friendliest but very professional and attentive. Food is just too. French dip to die for! Drinks are also well made.

I had the pleasure of dining at Hillstone NYC this past Thursday, and from the moment we walked in, everything about the evening was exceptional. The ambiance was warm and inviting — a perfect blend of upscale and cozy. Whether you're there for a casual dinner or a special night out, the atmosphere sets the tone beautifully. The service was outstanding. Attentive without being overbearing, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and ensured every detail was taken care of with a smile. You could tell they take pride in what they do, and it made the entire experience that much better. Now, the food; absolutely phenomenal. We started with the spinach dip, which is a must try. Creamy, flavorful, and served with warm chips, it was the perfect starter to share. We also ordered sushi, which was surprisingly excellent for a non sushi focused restaurant. Fresh, well prepared, and artfully presented. But the highlight of the meal was the French Dip. one of the best I’ve had in NYC. The beef was tender and juicy, the bread perfectly toasted, and the au jus rich and savory. Each bite was packed with flavor, and it’s clear why this dish is a fan favorite. In short, Hillstone delivers on every front: incredible food, top-notch service, and a setting that makes you want to linger just a bit longer. It’s rare to find a restaurant that hits all the marks so consistently, but Hillstone absolutely does. Highly recommend!

Five Leaves is a trendy bistro located in Greenpoint, offering a unique blend of New American cuisine with an Australian influence. The restaurant is known for its creative take on traditional bistro dishes, such as the popular Five Leaves burger featuring pickled beets and harissa mayo, truffle fries, and ricotta pancakes served during weekend brunch. Inspired by actor Heath Ledger, the stylish establishment has become a beloved fixture in Greenpoint over its 10 years of operation.
Went for my friends birthday brunch and we had a reservation for 6. Honestly have nothing bad to say about this place! It is quite small so make sure to make a reservation if you don’t want to wait long! Service is great everyone was so kind. Food was amazing! They have great breakfast options until 3 and then a fabulous dinner menu! Probably the best margaritas I’ve ever had to be honest! Would definitely go again!

Fries was so good and the watermelon in the watermelon salad was very ripe. Burgers were gigantic and hard to eat. Service was super super slow though. Lots of out door seating all in the shade.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Leaves never disappoints! The Moroccan Scramble was bursting with flavor—perfectly spiced, hearty, and balanced in every bite. Pairing that with their Ricotta Pancakes was absolute magic. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and indulgent, with just the right touch of sweetness—truly next level. The vibe is classic Five Leaves: lively, stylish, and welcoming, with a menu that always manages to impress. If you’re in the area, this spot is a must for both comfort and creativity

Such a great spot! The ricotta pancakes were amazingly fluffy and just sweet enough. The crispy chicken sandwich and fries totally hit the spot. Staff was nice even though it was packed, and the outdoor seating’s perfect for a sunny day.
Yesse P — Google review
We ordered the egg sandwich, the big breakky plate, and a latte. The food tastes good—nothing mind-blowing, but definitely something I’d come back for. The egg sandwich has a rich, cheesy flavor, and the tomato sauce adds a great extra layer. I especially liked the sautéed mushrooms on the big breakfast—they have a unique herbal/spiced taste that stands out. The latte was just okay. Service overall was a bit slow, likely due to how busy it was, so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

Brunch Vibes Worth the Hype! Had brunch with my cousin and let me just say, every bit of the hype is so well deserved. We went on a weekday around 11am, so it wasn’t too busy, which made it even more enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly staff. That energy sets the tone right away! I’d read about the Ricotta Pancakes and had to see what the fuss was about, they did not disappoint. We also had the Grain Bowl with a side of steak and halloumi, and every bite was packed with flavor and texture. I don’t drink alcohol, but I love a good mocktail. “Waters of Life” was a winner—especially if you’re into bold ginger and turmeric flavors like I am. Best part? You can treat yourself without breaking the bank. Trust me, this spot is a gem. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Their brunch was decent. Overall pretty tasty although the fries too salty. Service was ok. Could be more attentive. The vibe was off. Very cramped and chaotic. Not a relaxing brunch. But we were seated inside. Maybe the outdoor seating is better. In conclusion: meh

five leaves was the first restaurant i visited on my first ever trip to nyc in 2017. ever since then coming back here has become a tradition. 8 years on and the spot is still just as warm and welcoming, albeit way more busy which is incredible to see because the place deserves to thrive. easily my fav spot in the city (i fully blame the ricotta pancakes). i haven’t been to nyc in years but coming back here today felt like coming home in so many ways. thank you cody for taking such great care of me and thank you everyone at five leaves for even making a tourist feel like a part of the community. 🫶 (also pls restock those tote bags, the nation needs them!!)

Located in the heart of Brooklyn, Buttermilk Channel is a cozy and inviting eatery known for its hearty American comfort food and popular weekend brunch. The restaurant offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere, with carefully crafted dishes that showcase attention to detail. From buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches to duck meatloaf and homemade mushroom-barley veggie burgers, there's something for everyone on the menu.
I’ve been here many, many times and the food and service were always excellent. The barbecued mussels are AMAZING and something I haven’t seen on other menus in NYC. The fried chicken in any form was also fantastic and the cocktails always perfection. This neighborhood staple will be sorely missed, but I’m so glad I got to dine here last night for one final time. Be sure to check out their sister restaurant French Louie!

Came here for restaurant week. The kale salad was delicious, crispy and fresh and not too oily or salty. The trout salad was good too though it was a bit on the saltier side since it was cured. The entrees were ok. I ordered lasagna, it was a bit salty. I didn't taste any eggplants, mostly just squash. The fried chicken was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The Belgium waffle wasn't crispy. The deserts were good though. The pecan Sunday was delicious, although a bit too sweet. The cheesecake was delicious.
Y S — Google review
The brunch is finger-licking good. The must try is the French toast, it’s a whole experience. But the short-rib hash also gives it a run for its money. Even the salad was really yummy and fresh. It can get a little busy though, so be ready for that.

Buttermilk channel is one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn! Their pancakes are fantastic (and so is the jam). We also ordered the short rib hash, warm lamb salad and a side of bacon. All of which were delicious. The breakfast cocktails weren’t my favorite but I would absolutely visit again for the food and vibe!

Did brunch here on a busy Sunday. Was nice to see your place that is well run and able to serve a full house. Reservations look to be a really good idea on busy time is like Sunday brunch. The service was professional and friendly. Chicken sandwich tasted as good as it looked. Poached eggs were perfection. Pancakes were divine, the maple syrup was a sweet delight. And the fries, the fries! Don't forget to order some. Look forward to Dining there again when we visit family in Brooklyn.

Stepping into Buttermilk Channel Restaurant felt like stumbling upon a breakfast paradise, and their Chicken & Waffles and Pancakes sealed the deal for an authentic morning feast. The Chicken & Waffles were a revelation, with the chicken boasting a perfect crunch and the waffles a comforting canvas for the flavors. As for the pancakes, they were a testament to homey goodness, fluffy and delicious. The care they put into sourcing quality ingredients was evident in every bite. The cozy vibe of the place, combined with the friendly staff, made it a genuine, comforting experience. Buttermilk Channel Restaurant is where breakfast dreams come true, a spot I'd gladly revisit for a taste of their hearty, real-deal dishes.

Lovely place for brunch! The interior was very nicely decorated and there were great options to choose from for food. I got the chicken and waffles which was very tasty. It was light and crispy on the outside while juicy on the inside, would love to come back and try more dishes.
Christine — Google review
The place is very cute and the service is great. The walnut sticky bun was great, exactly what one would expect. The short rib hash had some interesting middle eastern spices, which gave it a unique flavor. The fried chicken sandwich is enormous, the chicken is so juicy and the coleslaw and pickles are nice to cut through the fattiness. The French toast was my favorite. It's very thick but soaked all the way through, the sauce is amazing, and the whipped cream is very good and just the right density/heaviness.

Red Hook Lobster Pound is a nautical-themed eatery in Brooklyn run by Susan Povich and Ralph Gorham. They serve fresh lobster rolls, including warm butter Connecticut-style and cold Maine-style rolls. The lobsters are delivered daily from Maine to ensure freshness. In addition to classic rolls, they offer innovative variations like the BLT-style roll with bacon and Tuscan-inspired roll with basil vinaigrette.
Absolutely delicious! I ordered the CT roll and it was incredible — fresh, buttery, and packed with flavor. The lobster was perfectly cooked and the portion was generous. On top of that, the service was smacking — super friendly, quick, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!
Isaac A — Google review
Red Hook Lobster Pound has some real highlights and a few misses, but I’d definitely go back. The lobster roll was a win—meaty, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. One of the better ones I’ve had in NYC. The drink I had alongside it was super refreshing and really hit the spot. I also tried the crab dip, which I was excited for, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It was seasoned well and tasted good with the chips, but the actual crab flavor was barely there. It felt like it was drowned in the creamy mix, and the crab just disappeared in it. The seafood boil with crab legs and corn looked great but unfortunately had no seasoning—completely bland, with zero flavor. Wouldn’t order that again. Still, the vibe was good, and the lobster roll alone makes it worth a visit. I’d go back and try more of the menu—just steering clear of the boil next time.
Tanesha J — Google review
This place was ok, but expensive! We were visiting from Tx and doing some site seeing. We took a ferry to Redhook to try this restaurant. The ferry ride was pretty cheap and we did get to see the Statue of Liberty, Governor’s Island along the way. Once we arrived we had to walk to get to any restaurant/bar… they were no where near the dock. Also, we did make a reservation beforehand, but didn’t have any issues checking in early and getting seated. The staff were friendly and the outdoor seating was ok, so we thought, but after sitting there for dinner and hearing the cars honking and speeding by (outdoor seating is literally on the street) we were rethinking our choice. As far as the food goes… it was wasn’t worth the time/money (almost $300 for 4 people) we spent. If you’re on a budget, this place is not for you. Also, a lot of the shops were closed early, so there wasn’t much to do except drink alcohol or eat. Not what we were expecting! Our fault for not researching more before heading over to Redhook.
G. A — Google review
I came to see what all the hype was about, but left wondering what I missed. The Connecticut lobster roll, which cost over $50, didn’t deliver the buttery punch I expected. If I’m paying that kind of price, I want flavor that grabs me; not something forgettable. The oysters were okay, but I’ve had better. Calamari was heavy on the batter and lacked the crispiness I like. Tacos? Meh—just so-so. And the lobster bisque came out lukewarm, which really dulled the richness it should’ve had. Service didn’t help either. It wasn’t busy, yet I had to wave down our server multiple times just to get basic attention. That kind of inattentiveness really takes away from the experience. Honestly, I’d rather track down a Cousins Maine Lobster truck and call it a day. Better flavor and no need to play hide-and-seek with the staff.
Victor B — Google review
Love the food! Everything here is so fresh and delicious. The Lobster Mac & Cheese is my absolute favorite, but the Lobster Roll, Fish & Chips are all tasty and S’mores is delicious! The atmosphere is great, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly and helpful, making the dining experience even better. If you’re in the area, you won’t regret stopping by!

My mother and I came here recently craving some good seafood, and we were absolutely blown away by what we found. The seafood was incredibly fresh, bursting with flavor, and perfectly seasoned. Every dish came in generous portions, and the shareable plates were ideal for two. I ordered the New England Seafood Boil and devoured every bite — it was that good. The staff treated us so warmly, and the atmosphere was giving total summer vibes, especially with a cocktail in hand. Truly a 10/10 experience — I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! For more delicious finds like this, make sure to follow @blaze_eatsnyc for the best eats around NYC!

Came here recently with friends. We had a reservation, but they’ll seat you regardless, depending on how busy they are (we arrived around 12pm, so it was just getting busy). Service was good and attentive, the food was okay for me. The lobster bisque had a weird taste to it (it tasted a bit like eggs), and I’ve had better lobster rolls at other places in Manhattan and in Boston. But the vibes and service was good, and I’m willing to try it again to see how other things are on the menu.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful farm-to-table experience, look no further than Westville Wall Street. This charming eatery prides itself on serving fresh produce and locally sourced meats, ensuring that every dish is not only wholesome but also satisfying. With an extensive selection of market vegetable sides, Westville caters to vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions effortlessly—think gluten-free and dairy-free options that don’t compromise on flavor.
A solid 4.3 here at Westville, but going to err on the side of stars and go all the way. Dropped in twice in one week to try some veggies that looked great online and walked out an hour or so later super impressed each time. These folks KNOW how to prep veggies, and oodles of choices. Like 10+ to choose from. Salmon was smallish but excellent, ceasar very good, though turkey chili lacked a bit of spunk. Highly recommended if you're around Wall St. Planning to come back gor brunch so me time...

The empanadas are horrible, they make the birria with cholula sauce I could jus smell it before tasting and after dipping it in 🤢🤮not worth a try honestly. Try their market veggies or pasties such as carrot cake not the beef birria empanadas they’re very whack. Service was great, Kendall was my server, she’s a burst of energy and warm hospitality.

If you’re around the Financial District and want a straightforward, comfortable dining option, Westville Wall St. is a solid choice. The menu leans on fresh, simple ingredients and corn-to-corn classic American fare, which is nice if you’re not looking for ultra-fine dining or a steakhouse experience. The setting is casual and appropriate for lunch with colleagues or a relaxed dinner. On the flip side, if you’re hoping for something super upscale or with an extensive cocktail program, this probably isn’t it — it plays it safe, but reliably so. The weekend brunch looks like a good opportunity if you have time and want something a little more leisurely.

Tanoreen is a beloved restaurant in Bay Ridge, celebrating its 20th anniversary as a go-to spot for Mediterranean-Middle Eastern cuisine. Chef-owner Rawia Bishara's menu showcases delicious Palestinian dishes like musukhan flatbread and shulbato, alongside more modern offerings such as cauliflower steak with tahini and pomegranate.
Just went for restaurant week and it was great! The food was delicious and plentiful. Loved the fried cauliflower. It was tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce was also very flavorful and creamy. I ordered the lamb shanks was tender and paired very well with the yogurt dip. Finished it off with the infamous kunefeh. Very cheesy, hearty and super filling. Ate a bit but had to take most of it home. Very large portions. Thumbs 👍

A delicious dinner in a neighborhood gem! The service was welcoming and friendly and the decor was the right mix of casual, homey AND elegant. That second part is harder to achieve than you think. Food was delicious. Half our group had the mint iced tea and the other half had the hibiscus iced tea (I can vouch that the hibiscus was great - both are unsweetened FYI). We started with the fried cauliflower steak appetizer (must get) and the special fried haloumi and watermelon salad (very delicious). We shared the Kibbie Jazariyyeh (a beef and carrot stew with kibbe - phenomenal!); chicken Fetti (like a pilaf and my favorite entree. The portion size on this could feed three easily.); and the Baked Kafta Tahini (ok...unanimously our least favorite entree of the evening). Definitely get the labeneh if available or the yogurt side - elevated every dish. We ended with the knafeh which was solid. It's far out, but worth it!

The best kanafeh in NYC - worth the trek to brooklyn - you should go! Other dishes that were great include the grilled meats, Fetti with extra harissa, and musakhan. Get the labne it's also so good! But the cocktails are not it - but really this is a Palestinian restaurant...they're not cocktail experts.

For entrees we got mixed kabobs, lamb shank, and chicken fetti - so so good. And of course knafeh for dessert it was the best we ever had. The staff is incredible and so hospitable as well. We will definitely be back soon <3

Latin American restaurant
Restaurant
El Cocotero is a vibrant and cozy Venezuelan eatery located in Chelsea. The restaurant offers traditional Venezuelan dishes such as arepas, pabellon Criolla, sancocho, and maduros. The colorful Hispanic-inspired decorations and live flowers create a lively ambiance. While the service is good and the prices are reasonable, it's not the place for those watching their weight. Visitors praise the delicious flavors of the food and recommend trying out their sangria.
What a rare gem of a find this small restaurant is! We stumbled into here by accident and had some of the best Venezuelan arepas I have ever tasted! Service is great and the ambiance is fitting and sort of romantic. Will be going back soon!

Venezuelan food, you will never go wrong with a good arepa, cachapa or any other dish. If you watching your weight this is not for you. Really nice decor, very Venezuelan, good ambiance. Service it's ok, food is really good & prices are reasonable on the high side but worth it to say the least. Definitely a place consider when in Chelsea and craving some comida criolla.

I had the pabellon Criolla and it was amazing. The quality and taste of the shredded chicken was great the interior of the place is nice small they use live flowers that were fresh on their tables they also have very colorful Hispanic inspired decorations that is very fitting. Although they dont accept apple/samsung pay they do have a clover machine for those who seek to pay with tap. But all togeather it was great food.

Great flavors. Moderate sized portions. Service was a little slow but not too bad. Definitely worth another visit.

Authentic Venezuelan food. I am not Venezuelan myself but I went with a Venezuelan friend. Food was really good, the environment is small but really cozy and the server is really nice and flexible. Favorite dish is the national dish. It's got some pulled chicken very well cooked and juicy.

This place has wonderful food and I'm so excited I found it. It has authentic Venezuelan food and a nostalgic Venezuelan atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a great arepa!

I came to this restaurant una with my Venezuelan friends. I have never tried Venezuelan food. We came for brunchh and I got the arepas (kinda corn cake). They were delicious. I also tried the the sancocho and maduros and everything was delicious. Food looked very basic compared with European cuisine but the flavors were outstanding. I am definitely coming back to eat at this restaurant.

I went there couple of days ago, I tried many dishes in there, but what I liked most was the drink called "Guarapita" which came with Passion fruit, Mango juice and Rum. Really refreshing as a tropical drink.

Vegetarian restaurant
Restaurant
Superiority Burger is an innovative, all-vegetarian restaurant located in a historic diner setting. The former Ukrainian diner now houses this cutting-edge eatery, known for its fun and free-wheeling menu created by Brooks Headley, the former pastry chef at Del Posto. The signature veggie burger is a cult favorite, featuring confit tomatoes and melted muenster cheese.
One of the best vegan sit down restaurants in the city. The atmosphere hits as a classic burger joint but, well, vegetarian. Most of the dishes can be made vegan on request, so this is a standout for vegans looking for a burger fix. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t heard of this place before because every dish was superb. We only came because we were seeing a show nearby and my partner saw this place recently in the NYTimes. We got two mains and one appetizer, all of which we made vegan: Superiority Burger Collard Greens Sandwich - my personal favorite. Unique taste; mixed texture; perfect size Roasted White Sweet Potato I’ll definitely have to come back to try the other two sandwiches on the menu as well as some of the appetizers that stood out but didn’t make the cut for this visit, namely the Sweet and Sour Pink Beets and the Spicy Lentils and Cornbread.
Shawn C — Google review
From the outside you would not imagine how cute and comfy it is inside! The vegetarian burger was delicious and filled us properly. The waiters were really nice and offered us a taste of ice cream when we told them we were from Italy! Highly recommended!!
Maria T — Google review
I’ve been meaning to try this place and really wanted to like it because a vegetarian burger joint is what this world needs more of. The Superiority seemed like the right place to start. It was OK, but it did not live up to its name. It was surprisingly small and the toppings were also minimally doled out. For $22 (including fries that were average) I really expected a hearty and tasty veggie burger (like what 5 Napkin offers). Overall, it was a lot of money for something that was not substantial and unremarkable. But people clearly like this place on a Monday evening, it was about 75% full. Maybe I would’ve done better trying something else on the menu, like the tofu sandwich.
Danny K — Google review
Vegan restaurant by Tompkins park. The halumi and pumpkin starter was amazing. I had the Yube sandwich, wouldn’t recommend. Their house burger was definitely a better choice. Good if you’re looking for a vegan or vegetarian option. On the expensive side, and there’s definitely better places in the area. I’d go back but only for the burger.

We went early on a Sunday and there was no wait at all. I loved the vibe and the old photos on the wall...in particular, a photo of Dojo on St Marks which brought back a lot of memories... Service was laid-back, friendly and quick. On to the food...three in my party got the Superiority Burger with fries in three different ways. It was all spot-on and after tasting it, it is a strong vegetarian burger. But forget that and go for the TFT - a fried tofu sandwich which was simply outstanding. The fries are some of the absolute best I've had in NYC. We also had a side of burnt broccoli which was ok, but nothing too special. Go for the TFT, fries and the vibe.
Lisa W — Google review
This would be a 5/5 for me however the service needs improvement. The chefs and ladies are superb, but for some reason the waiters never seem to check on you. We got seated in the back and the guy didn’t check on us until I motioned him to come over. Food is good but be prepared to spend half $100 bucks for 2 burgers. Either way, food is great for a vegan place.
Tanvin T — Google review
Food was five stars excellent, but service was horrible and atmosphere way too loud. It and put a damper on the whole evening. It’s such a shame because if it weren’t for the poor service, this would’ve been a 5 star review. The waiter disappeared and we waited 30min after we’d finished eating to get our plates cleared, eventually the hostess had to do it as our waiter was still MIA… I thought he had actually left and ended his shift, though even while he was there he never checked on us once. Then I asked for the ice cream to go, he said absolutely and failed to mention there were no to go cups!!! Left us to fend for ourselves with the giant overflowing scoops, didn’t even bring a second cup we had to ask someone else. It was a total disaster and our ice cream melted all over the uber and my clothes. If he had simply informed us there were no to go cups we would not have ordered but instead he brought this ice cream with the bill so it was too late to correct. The atmosphere was much too loud… every table was screaming both to be heard over the blasting music and also each other. I actually put in my loop earplugs. The food though was truly excellent, exceeded my already high expectations. We tried the pumpkin with halloumi which I’m still dreaming about. Looked unassuming but was bursting with strong flavor, chili, maybe even lemongrass, halloumi was perfectly cooked without getting rubbery and not too salty either. The rancho gordo marcella beans (which I’ve also bought and cooked) were also extremely flavorful, though this dish was a little spicy for me. The collard greens sandwich was great, very cheesy almost American cheese vibes but in a good way more flavorful. The focaccia didn’t disappoint. The tofu fried burger was perfectly cooked and very crunchy with strong flavor of sesame. Again though, this was a bit too spicy for my liking. The date shake was a huge disappointment. I had heard so much about it but it was just way too sweet for me and the overpowering flavor was orange zest, which felt kind of out of place. It was also too liquify for my liking, I would’ve preferred a thicker shake with less milk. The corn gelato however was spectacular… so rich and almost sticky creamy. Deep corn flavor that was so intense and went perfectly with the sweet ice cream. I don’t know how they crammed so much corn flavor in without making it icy but it was really something special. Overall the food was much better than I was expecting and I had high expectations - it was just a lot less bland than typical American fare, each dish was bursting with unique flavors and textures. I also appreciated they had plenty of non alcoholic drinks, and I enjoyed my sugar free cranberry juice & seltzer - truly no sweetness, no sweetener either but very refreshing. I may brace the service and environment again for the food, or opt for takeout next time.
Diya S — Google review
Decent burger, but nothing standout ish, just tasted like a regular bean burger. Fries were delicious, love the thick potato cut. I enjoyed the tofu burger as well, the slaw was a great addition to it. However, the price point makes this not worth it as I was expecting better. For a basically $50 check, we got 2 burgers and 1 side of fries. NYC i guess… Service was also not good, maybe it’s because we were in the back on a friday but the waiter took our order, never came back, we had to ask the waiter at the table next to us after he took their order for the check, and then our waiter came back to give us the check.

Avo is a vibrant spot located in the Industry City Food Hall, dedicated to all things avocado. The casual and chill cafe vibe makes it an ideal place for breakfast or lunch. The menu features a variety of dishes such as toasts, salads, bowls, and smoothies that highlight the creamy fruit. Customers praise the fast and friendly service and eco-friendly packaging.
Lovely salad take-out eatery with avocado as the centerpiece. My Greek avocado salad was delicious, fresh, with a nice balance of olives, feta, tahini dressing, pickled radishes, toasted sunflower seeds, lettuce, avocado, and more. There is ample seating available at the food court. Lovely atmosphere and very kid-friendly. Fast service.

The food is great, but overall, the service is terrible. I ordered a meal without meat, I have over ten years without eating meat and was very clear on that. They gave me a meal with chicken that I SPECIFICALLY asked not to have. When I went to return it, it seemed that the staff had a hard time following directions for other folks in line and had to constantly repeat themselves over and over again. And the Employees talk smack in Spanish, thinking no one would be able to comprehend them. And all they had to say for it was excuses. If someone has STRICT dietary needs, sorry doesn't cut it.

Very simple and fascinating concept in eating out. I really wasn't warm to the concept of an all avocado eatery at first, but there are more than enough combinations to enjoy a well seasoned variety of avocado wonderment. Will definitely recommend to visit here.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while as I am an avocado lover. Very small shop, as the description says, more like a bar. Kind of original in its style but I feel like it is way overrated. You can find the same plates and dishes in your day-to-day go-to salad place, or in your go-to breakfast/brunch place. Nothing original, I’d say, except for the avocado “burger” and also the sweatshirts and avocado scrubs for sale. Not impressed with the staff as well. Great smoothies. All in all, nothing too special. Industrial City, where it is located, actually was great to hang out at.
Magdalena Z — Google review
Let’s start by saying this place is fun. Think about it, the entire menu revolves around avocado! Imagine people actually talk about it and it actually exists! Atmosphere: casual, chill, like a cafe vibe. I’d highly recommend coming here for lunch or breakfast. Service: fast and friendly. The packaging is mostly cardboard and paper. Minimally plastic. They do use plastic straws, which says a lot about the times if I’m paying attention to it. Food: we ordered a bunch of food to try. We got every smoothie, the avocado toast with chilli, the green wrap, the Thai bowl, the toast with egg. All delicious. The avocados are super fresh. The bread is good too. The bread of an avocado toast is pretty important when you consider how simple it can get. You can’t go wrong with avocados. Healthy fats, tons of folate, fiber, potassium, vitamins, magnesium and more.

This place has tasty and nutritious food. It’s really convenient for an avocado fan like me. The staff is good. It’s a real aesthetic place. I love the way they’re going eco-friendly. It is also near a B70 stop so I don’t have to walk a lot.

Court Street Grocers is a specialty market and sandwich shop with multiple locations in New York City. The Manhattan location in Greenwich Village offers a variety of gourmet sandwiches, including breakfast options like pork roll with scrambled eggs and cheese, vegetarian ciabatta, and bacon sandwiches. Known for sourcing bread from top bakeries in the city, the deli's menu features an array of traditional and unique sandwich combinations, drawing long lines of locals and visitors alike.
First came here in like 2019, been eating the same sandwich ever since. The Vegitalian is a perfect sandwich in my books; sweet, savory, salty, tangy. About $20 after a bag of Voodoo chips and a sandwich, it’s not the cheapest. It is what it is: an elevated sandwich in the elevated neighborhood of Carroll Gardens. Love this place!

bit hesitant to try given it was a local chain however, it lives up to the name. had the pork roll which is a bacon, egg and cheese and the bacon is essentially crispy and the roll was basic brioche bun but overall had good structure and doesn't disappoint for 12 bucks. it was okay but The vibes are nice in there and sandwiches. good

Consistently good sandwich spot, great for breakfast or lunch. I have the turkey delight every time. It’s turkey and Swiss with coleslaw and comeback sauce. I love a turkey sandwich and this one is delicious. Good quality turkey and love the addition of coleslaw instead of just dry greens because it’s very flavorful and saucey. It is on the more indulgent side but very good. I add mustard for some tangy relief from the rich sauce. The only downfall is the price. For two sandwiches we paid over $40. It’s conveniently located in a great neighborhood.

$40 after 2 sandwiches, a soda and a drink. Use to love this place but it’s no longer affordable. Back to the bodega for a Sammy it is!

I’ve been a regular for the past 5 years, but unfortunately my latest sandwich will be my last. The staff are friendly and the bread is fresh. But there has been a notable decrease in the amount of meat and ingredients included in each of the several sandwiches I order. Sometimes it is passable, but multiple recent orders have been bare.
Shaan P — Google review
The Droopy sandwich was very good but I knew when I picked up the bag and it weighed 2 ounces, I was gonna be disappointed. For $18, I was expecting a hefty sandwich that I could eat in two sittings but this thing was gone in 5 minutes. The sandwiches are very good with great ingredients but extremely light for a hero.

We went in the middle of the week at lunch time, so it was no busy at all we were very lucky(every time we walk by it is very busy). First time being here and I was very impressed with all the options of bake goods, products and the extensive menu. I order the cubano sandwich and it was good all the flavors where there but for me it was a little salty and it had to much sauce, so it is very messy to eat be aware of that. I think I’ll go back to try other things from the menu. They have outdoor and indoor seating (big space). All the staff was very friendly!
Adriana P — Google review
People rave about CSG, but after eating it consistently for 5 years, I’d say it’s really gone downhill. Their menu has gotten smaller, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing- if they were doing the sandwiches they had really well. But everything is pretty basic, with an exorbitant amount of mayo, or whatever sauce is on the sandwich. You have to eat the sandwich immediately or the bread disintegrates in the moisture. After my previous sandwich Idt I’ll be ordering from CSG again.

Stopped into Greecologies after delivering two ice cream machines to the owner. Was served the unstrained Greek Yogurt with walnuts on top. Loved it. You can see them making the Yogurt on site, they have a cute little back patio and tables in the back to work on. Not only do they have a huge Yogurt menu with a variety of other items they also have a coffee menu . A very clean sleek classy establishment Definitely would go back when I'm in the area.

The yogurt was pretty good. Smooth and creamy, with a nice tough texture on the top. The honey and the berries were fresh and not overly sweet. The seating was abundant and the environment cost. However, the service was meh and the price is too high for what you got. I feel like I am paying half more just for the nice seating area instead of the actual food.
Tian G — Google review
Great place for Greek yogurt, which seems like an odd speciality to take to the level of high-science that they’ve done here: but it’s certainly done well. The overall space is exceptionally clean and white, but they’ve added just enough character to make it feel welcoming. Plus, the staff are friendly and approachable. The coffee was great. Outside of yogurt there aren’t a lot of food choices and, as other commentators have said, it’s on the high side from a pricing perspective. But well worth a visit if Greek yogurt is your thing.

One of my favorites is the matcha latte. The depth of flavor is so intense and satisfying. A prime latte experience. Lovely quiet place, pleasant staff and nice location as bonus. If you can grab a chia bowl as well; very delicious.

When I visit a new place, I always ask a staff or a server recommendations..... And Greecologies case is a good example... They super strongly👍🏼 have yogurt with a jam based rose🌹 ..... Even though I had it two years ago, I still remember its adorable taste... a balance between fresh yogurt and jam is perfectly complementary ⭐️ Take a rest here and enjoy it please🙏🏼
Hyunsoo C — Google review
I love this place. I come here almost once a week. It’s so spacious and airy, the staff are always polite and pleasant and the food is great! Try the matcha latte if you want an unsweetened pick-me-up, the chai latte (with oat milk) if you want something a little sweet or the rose matcha latte (with almond milk) if you are craving something sweet. Skip the coffee with butter and coconut oil though, NOT worth your money. I know the whole Bulletproof coffee is a thing but it tastes so gross. The chocolate olive oil cake is good too! Tastes way better than it looks (its moist, slightly sweet, very satisfying). They got rid of their soft serve which is such a shame! The vanilla with olive oil and sea salt was so unique!
Ling C — Google review
Been here several times, and always leave feeling satiated and healthy! I’m a sucker for yogurt, but am not a fan of the copious amounts of extra sugars added to most. Greecologies has 100% grass fed Greek yogurt, and you can sneak a peak of them making it in-house. You have the additional option of choosing strained or unstrained. I’ve personally only had the former, but can attest to it having a heavenly thick and creamy texture. The options for toppings are yummy and diverse—I’ve had the savory sun-dried tomatoes, mint & olive oil (don’t know why I never thought to make my yogurts savory before) and the figs, walnuts, chia seed and honey option. They also offer smoothies and great beverages (I’ve had the hot ginger tonic—nothing to mess around with—and their matcha drinks). The space is beautiful, airy and open. Great for working as well, as they offer free WiFi for customers! Definitely one of my Manhattan cafe staples.

Friend of a Farmer - Gramercy Park is a charming family-owned restaurant known for its American country cooking and farm-to-table concept. With over 30 years of experience, the eatery takes pride in using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create a delightful dining experience. The menu features an array of brunch options, including popular dishes like Avocado Tartare and the Boomer Special, which offers a variety of pancakes alongside eggs and breakfast meat.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Such a cute spot! The whole place is so pretty even upstairs feels like a little farmhouse escape in the city. The service was great too. We asked our server for some suggestions and she nailed it. We shared the pancake with lemon zest and it was really good. I got the country grain bowl salad with chicken and it was super tasty and full of flavor. Satisfying!! I’ll for sure be back and I totally recommend checking this place out. It’s a real gem!
Dan O — Google review
This spot is true to it’s name, serving what I like to call a farmer’s breakfast fit with meats, eggs, potatoes, and some kind of delectable carb on the side. I ordered the Boomer’s special which came with scrambled eggs, meat of choice, pancakes or waffles, plus home fries. I opted for crispy bacon and the blue berry pancakes. When I say that everything was cooked to perfection, I certainly mean it. Eggs were seasoned and tasted buttery, bacon was crisp as requested, even the blueberries in the pancakes were sweet and tender. This was well worth the $27 platter price considering this city has lower quality brunch plates for a few dollars less. I will note that extras, such as a side of the home-fries are an extra $9 for a little cup, but I suppose their profit margin is with drinks and these little side options. My partner got the chicken pot pie and it was solid, but a little on the salty side and a little overly sweet with too much rosemary in the filling. Probably wouldn’t order that again, but in general, this place seems like a well oiled machine. Service was smooth and precise, not overly personal or warm, but we got water and food in a timely manner, and they checked on us at least once. Decor is what some may consider shabby chic charming, but it was a little half-hazard and needed some editing on the second floor, namely with too many baskets crammed into the rafters, gathering some dust.

In town for just a couple hours on a business trip. My buddy and I were hungry for breakfast and stopped in here. It’s a very simple diner, but had great reviews. The food was really good and the pancakes were remarkable. The reason for two stars dropped was our waitress was pretty rude. Never smiled. Wouldn’t talk to us and looked like she hated being in there. Overall, the food was great with the service just sucked.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and pumpkin walnut pancakes full of light fall flavor. The pumpkin flavor wasn't overpowering the dish. It was a nice and light. I love nuts so I was glad to see all three pancakes had a generous amount of crunch. The syrup gave it a nice sweet touch without being too sweet. Loved the ambience and the staff were all very friendly as they checked to ensure all was well. I will be going back soon!

Recently went and it was a very pleasant experience. The meal started off with a complimentary cornbread with apple sauce which was excellent. The burger was top tier and so was the chicken. The servers were attentive but I did feel a little rushed to get through the meal quickly. There is outdoor seating with space heaters to keep you warm. Overall I would return.

To experience the feeling of dining in a farmhouse in New York City, is to experience dining at Friend of a Farmer in Gramercy Park. This place exudes coziness and warmth that fills your soul, meanwhile the delicious food fills your stomach. Great food that will leave you full and great drinks that will make you drool. Visit with your friends and know you are all supporting locally and a family owned business!

Have had FOAF on my list for many years and finally decided to give them a try. Luckily we didnt have to wait long for a table for 2 on a Saturday around 1245pm. Host was very welcoming, server was nice but forgot about our table for bit- we noticed that each table around us got a free order of cornbread as they waited, we never did. Food: -I ordered the boomer special with bacon and lemon pancakes. All were prepared nicely, crispy bacon and lemon pancakes although slightly wet were tasty! I did enjoy the potatoes but they were bordering mushy. Also the syrup that came with dish wasn't a typical maple syrup, it was quite nice but didnt have a chance to ask server as she was often MIA. Food arrived very quickly. Drinks: I ordered a latte but received a lukewarm cappuccino lol- I take my coffee seriously, so this was a bummer. Hugo Spritz, was nice but tons of ice and light pour- less than one would expect at the brunch pricepoints. Overall, had a nice, enjoyable meal and even though there was a lack off attention from our server compared to others around us/other servers we witnessed, would be open to give them another try (potentially their UPW location).

Loved going to don angie when I was able to get a res (very very difficult). The service was amazing and the food was divine. The lasagne was incredible and highly recommend the caramelle. The chrystanetheum salad and the tiramisu were our other favs. Would love to go back!

Got a reservation here for the exclusive Chase Reserve event. It was packed! My favorite dish was the mussels. Very different taste, great pasta, and just delicious. My second favorite was the tiramisu as it was very different and crunchy. I thought that the bread and other pasta dishes were good, but they were quite thick dishes. There was a ton of flavor with each but the dishes were so thick with ingredients it created a ton of confusion with textures and tastes. The lasagna had a soft and hard texture. The lobster wasn’t just lobster meat. As long as you’re prepared for a ton of flavors and don’t want just traditional Italian, you’ll enjoy this beautiful venue.

I was able to get a lunch reservation a week in advance on OpenTable and it was worth it! Everything was delicious and lived up to expectations. We ordered the chrysanthemum salad, calamari w/pepperoni rice, caramelle pasta, and the lasagna to share and everything was beyond expectations. The calamari really surprised us, but the salad is a must order. The lasagna is delicious and the portions are huge. The bread it is served with is amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant as “worth it” if you’re trying to get a reservation: keep trying!

Don Angie absolutely lived up to the hype. We came at opening on a weekday and were able to snag bar seats right away. The compact menu is full of creative Italian dishes, and everything we tried was outstanding - the Tonnato Vitello combined veal tartare and tuna carpaccio in a well balanced and savory bite. For pastas, the Sorpresine with Smoked Mussels was very umami, while the Buffalo Milk Caramelle with black sesame and candied kumquats was refreshingly bright. Even the Japanese sweet potato side was a highlight - beautifully crisp and fragrant. Every dish felt intentional and creative, and I can see why this spot gets so much love. Can’t wait to return to try their signature lasagna next time.

Tried to walk in on a Saturday in September around 4:35pm - they said it was a 10 minute wait; we were seated by 5pm. I was very surprised how easy it was to get a table on a weekend night (again, go early!). Delicious espresso martini, lasagna is a must try - the flatbread was incredible and tasted a bit like a scallion pancake. We also split the cauliflower which was great and not too spicy. Service was a little bit lacking - the waiter seemed unbothered to help us, it felt like he had the air of "you're lucky to be in here". He did not come over to take our drink order until we had been seated for at least 15 minutes. He also barely checked on us, and did not seem attentive. This is somewhat disappointing, especially given that we spent close to $250 for the meal. Despite the poor service, I would say I recommend a meal at Don Angie - the food is worth it.

We had a wonderful evening of delicious food and wine at this busy Italian restaurant in a great location in the West Village. Host was so pleasant, which is a great start. Pasta was made with high quality ingredients. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is the service was a little slow and there is one restroom. Other than that, I highly recommend this establishment.

We took all of the recommendations from our wonderful waiter and wowwww was this place worth the hype! The lasagna of course was the star of the show but I was most impressed with the sweet potato’s! A definite must visit, get in line at 3:30pm and put your name in, definitely worth it!

We ate the MOST delicious gnocchi I have ever eaten here! It’s listed on the menu as Stracchino Gnocchi: Broccoli Rabe, Crispy Garlic, Sharp Provolone. Although we didn’t order it, the stuffed garlic flatbread ordered by other people sat at the bar looked and smelt really appetising. All the food we saw other people order looked amazing. Sat at the bar to have a glass of wine & something to eat after a very busy day in the city. Highly recommend.

Charlie Bird is a popular, bi-level restaurant known for its Italian-influenced New American cuisine and extensive wine selection. Founded by sommelier Robert Bohr and chef Ryan Hardy, the menu offers small and large plates, vegetables, raw dishes, and pasta, with the cacio e pepe pasta being a standout. The restaurant boasts an impressive wine list overseen by award-winning sommelier Arvid Rosengren.
The atmosphere and the service here are really great. It is lively and fun. Our group had the private room in the back, which was so lovely and next to its own bathroom. We agreed that the fried chicken, Hamchi, rigatoni cacio de pepe pasta, and Gelato were the crowd favorites (prederred over the mains). Enjoy!

This place is cute and pretty spacious, great for larger groups. Their Monday burger and martini special for $30 is a steal! Separately, martinis are $15 and burgers are $20 on Mondays. I had the 50/50 martini and it was delicious. We also had sides of broccoli rabe and cauliflower. The food was good, but not exceptional.

Fun lively restaurant with excellent food, highly recommend the beef tartare served with fried squash blossoms, the pork chop and the roast chicken! Normally don’t love large proteins the most, but they were amazing. The pastas (gnocchi and cavatelli) were ok, and the crudos were small but very nice. Would go back, love the fun r&b/hip hop soundtrack.

Charlie Bird is very much a presentation first establishment in my eyes. It's not bad by any means, but I am pretty disappointed especially since the food looks better than it actually tastes (not bad, just very average). Razor clams: Tangy, slightly savory, but you should prob pass on it at $7/pp. Burrata Crostini: it looks amazing, but there was no flavor. I literally only tasted the crostini. Farro Salad: Nice composition of flavors, but it doesn't really stand out. Tuscan Fried Chicken: Fairly flavorful and juicy, the best of the appetizers. But honestly, you are much better off going to a restaurant dedicated to fried chicken. French Fries: Actually really good, crispy and salty. If I ever came back, I would always order these with my meal. Chicken Milanese: ....the little side salad and the jam was the best part. The crust is the milanese is crispy and salted well, the chicken itself is cooked well..... But the chicken itself was not seasoned. The portions were okay overall. I'm not a picky eater by any means, but I was pretty disappointed overall with this meal. Maybe I was there the wrong day, but I left fairly disappointed. Although I rated it a 4 overall by NY standards, I would personally consider the food a 3/5 as I doubt I would ever return myself.

Sorry to say but although I had high expectations from this place, it felt uneventful. And I mean that in a bad way. It looks and places itself higher than the actual delivery. Don’t get me wrong, it was not a bad experience. But they aim to offer more

Great food and great ambience. The portions were a bit small but other than that the food tasted delicious.

A full meal at Charlie Birds.. was very happy with all of my dinner choices! Loved the burrata and squash combo, tartar and steak! Portions were very small/ European sized; I definitely could have ordered more as we shared all these plates. Good vibes but extremely loud music inside.
Sarah L — Google review
Poor experience. The theme here is that they give less food and drink than you would expect. We came with a group of 4, ordered appetizers and mains, and everyone left to get an actual dinner afterwards. The food was fine, albeit overpriced for the portions. I do not recommend coming here.

I enjoyed eating here tonight, especially since I hadn't been to Serafina in over a decade. First, our server was fantastic! Unfortunately, I didn't get her name to be able to give her credit. She had great personality, was humorous and very attentive without hovering, asked good questions, made great cocktail suggestions, and brought a decent substitute sauce for my steak since the steak sauce was so-so. And most unfortunately, she didn't stay with us to the end of our meal, so a different server received her tip. The espresso martini she recommended was absolutely perfect, all ingredients wonderfully balanced! I'll definitely get it again, and will have the perfect comparison if I order it at another restaurant. Although the plating of my steak dinner was mediocre, the steak itself was ON POINT!! I ordered the steak medium rare, and it was a beautiful medium rare indeed!! It tasted divine, lightly seasoned and so juicy, wheeewww!! Loved it!! The steak sauce could've been much better though, no pizzazz, too much like a basic gravy. Two days, I ate the remaining half of the steak and it still tasted great!! The pistachio tart was so-so. It was too soft and creamy with too subtle pistachio taste and a negligible sprinkle of chopped pistachio on top. They should've covered it with a layer of chopped pistachio and left off the huge mint leaves. I won't order it again, and I don't recommend it. Even with the disappointing steak sauce and pistachio tart, I still give a 5 for food because of the steak, fries, and espresso martini! 😋 I'll not wait a decade before visiting Serafina again. 😊

Food was very tasty, went to John’s of Times Square yesterday and really better taste. The waiter seemed miffed it was only me and my son, and did the minimum needed. My biggest gripe was getting sliced sourdough to start which came with a bit of olive oil. The oil was starting to spoil by smell and taste, I verified with my son and told waiter I’d love some balsamic to go with olive oil and bread, and that this bowl was nearing rancid. The waiter put oil back at station, gave me balsamic and did nothing else. (I’d have wanted him to taste, have manager stop by, or similar; but at a minimum provide better olive oil!). So food and atmosphere were great, at least. (Olive oil freshness ignored)

It's a lovely place to dine out. Good Italian food. The decor and ambiance are what make it stand out. The food is tasty, and there are a lot of choices on their menu. There are hundreds of Italian restaurants in NYC. I think this is on par with a lot of them. It's worth stopping in for a drink or a bite.

I came here with my boyfriend for a late lunch. I was excited, my name is Serafina and I had never been here. To be honest I was very disappointed. We got two pizzas, which came out incredibly soggy. The taste was there but you couldn't pick up a slice without it falling apart. We also got the calamari which was mid. The server was very attentive at the beginning of our visit and then kind of forgot about us. Sadly, despite our shared name, I don't think I will be coming back here. Update: I was asked to reach out to the manager regarding this situation. I did, twice, with no response. Not only did I waste my money here, I also wasted my time.

What a lovely find!! Let me set the stage...coming back from walking Ozzy in Central Park and it was hot and humid! I asked if I could bring Ozzy in, "of course!" Serafina offered a prefix meal. Glass of wine, cesar salad, and pizza for $29. They brought the pup some water.

Beautiful setting and exquisite service at this upper west side staple. Enjoy a fine meal in this romantic yet casual setting on Broadway just blocks from the subway and down the street from the Beacon theater and the Met. The food was excellent and the champagne was better. The wine list is quite extensive. Couldn’t find anything negative to say about this restaurant, it’s a bit pricey but if you want to treat yourself, your family, or a date to some great Italian food, then go for this place. They have several locations throughout Manhattan, finding a table won’t be difficult. Enjoy!

With its clean and inviting interior, this bakery provides an ideal setting to savor their delectable offerings.

City Bakery is a spacious space with plenty of nooks and tables to enjoy a drink either by yourself or with company. My SO and I arrived a few minutes before the store closed, but the staff was friendly and quick to dispatch the order. Be warned about the hot chocolate with giant marshmallow—this drink is SUPER sweet. Like, did-they-just-melt-a-chocolate-bar-and-added-a-marshmallow sweet. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten one hot chocolate to share with my SO. The pretzel croissant was delicious and warm, I definitely recommend this over their chocolate chip cookie. Lastly, just keep in mind that for two hot chocolates, a chocolate chip cookie, and a pretzel croissant we paid close to $25.

Wollensky's Grill is a delightful casual offshoot of the renowned Smith & Wollensky, where you can indulge in mouthwatering steaks and burgers well into the night. The menu features a standout Cobb salad, generously dressed with a creamy sauce that perfectly complements crunchy romaine and hearty bacon pieces. Diners rave about their experiences here, from prime rib to pork chops, all accompanied by delectable sides like mac and cheese.
The burger is amazing! Even at $25, I loved it. The $14 sparkling water was a little offensive. Service was not very attentive, long wait for the check.

Came all the way from Times Square to have the amazing burger and the cop salad that we read about. Our total time and seat was about an hour and 20 minutes. My hamburger had to be sent back twice and the Cobb salad was missing several ingredients. We talked to the host and expressed our displeasure and I still got brought over a bill for the two drinks that we had. If someone spends an hour and a half of their life waiting for food And leaves hungry everything should be taken care of. Unsatisfactory will never come back again and will be called a general manager to request a full refund for the drinks I was charged for.

I came here on Thursday afternoon. I ordered a pea soup and a New York strip steak. It came with free, delicious bread and butter, and I even received complementary espresso. I enjoyed the pea soup, but I’m not sure about whether it worth the price tag ($16). I guess it is 3-4 stars given the price point. The New York steak was well cooked, i enjoyed it; I asked for medium rare, and a medium rare steak I got. Two small suggestions: there are a little bit too much burnt meat (turning into a blackened charred layer of bitter crust that I can smell 3 feet away) and it was not salted before delivering (I can use table salt, but given the dark ambient, I could not see the amount of salt very well).

Old school steak house. Really enjoyed the porterhouse for two and the creamed spinach is world class. A must go if you are in the midtown area and in the mood for a good steak. They also have a killer burger. Shout out to Tony our waiter, great job pal!

Disappointing visit to Wollensky's Grill. Ordered a medium-rare Bone-in Rib Steak which was clearly fifty percent fat. Mentioned this to my server who simply didn't acknowledge my complaint - so my disappointment is both in the quality of the food on this occasion as well as in the total lack of response by the server. I've been to Wollensky's Grill many times before, and recommended them just as often to others - this is sadly the first time I've had good reason to question their usual faultless quality and service.
Andrew L — Google review
This place doesn’t skimp on portion size. The martini was basically two in one, which I’m definitely not complaining about. The split pea soup was delicious and could easily be split, no pun intended. I didn't care for the caesar salad as it lacked dressing, flavor, and the hearts of romaine were bitter; they served me the throw away section. The summer special came with a large 16-ounce filet mignon — double what I’m used to. While large, it could have used more seasoning or salt. There was table salt and cheap already ground pepper, I used both. I also ordered the bread and was pleasantly surprised with a generous variety of fresh, different breads. If you’re hungry, this is your kind of place. Though it does seem like a boys night out type of place even though they really pack you in, trying to make use of every square inch, which I don't prefer. As for the service, it was friendly but very slow. I'm not curious to try any other menu item so this was my first and last time here.

A Carnivore's Dream Come True! From the moment we walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance was warm and inviting, sophisticated and setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The first bite was pure bliss – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Our server, wish I remembered his name, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. I can't wait to go back!

Lexington Brass is a stylish yet laid-back bistro that serves hearty New American cuisine and inventive cocktails. Visitors have raved about their brunch experience, praising the high-quality food and attentive service. The restaurant exudes a cozy European ambiance with a beautiful marble bar counter. Dishes like egg white omelette with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and cheese, as well as French Onion Soup and Coconut Kale Salad with salmon have been highly recommended.
Really pleasantly surprised. Service was fantastic and friendly. My wife had the French Onion Soup and said it's among the best she's had. She followed that with the Coconut Kale Salad with salmon substituted for chicken. I started with the Crispy Cauliflower followed by the Fried Chicken and Biscuits. All top notch. The only nitpick is they could use a more varied beer list. I like the dark and malty brews and there were none on tap. There was a Left Hand Nitro Stout in a bottle, but I can get that anywhere. Settled on a Stella.

Decent restaurant. Friendly staff. Great place for friends gathering, happy hour and dinner. Their lobster roll and French onion soup are both delicious and portion is alright for dinner for a lady. I tried grilled octopus and lobster salad on the other day. They are also good, but the taste is a little bit salty to me.

A very comfortable place with delicious food. I liked the environment of the place, it wasn't too loud or crowded. People could really have great conversation while enjoying food and drinks. I loved the octopus appetizer dish. Their lobster roll and filet mignon entrees were extremely tasty. I had a wonderful time with my friends and looking forward to visit this restaurant again.

Nice restaurant conveniently located near Grand Central Station. Positioned in a lovely corner, French Bistro style decor, warm and inviting. Everyone seemed to enjoy the brunch. My Mediterranean Grilled Shrimp Bowl with farro was a very well-balanced meal & the falafel balls were delicious (but when it came to the table, the shrimp was accidentally ommitted, but I realized in time & it was rectified rather quickly). My daughter's waffles with berry butter was scarfed down rapidly. And YES! There is a bathroom, just not that convenient to get to...elevator required, on a lower level under the hotel.

The restaurant is located to the left of the adjacent hotel. I went for breakfast and ordered the French toast. It wasn't what I expected but I like inventive foods. The French toast was stuffed with some type of blueberry sauce of sorts. It lacked flavor and needed to be a bit more sweet. It was also too much of it. The French toast was soggy because it was stuffed with it. I ordered a side of bacon which was $9. It was the worth $9, no pizazz. Just regular bacon on a plate. Not thick cut, with pepper, and maple syrup. Just bacon. Otherwise, the staff was nice and it was pretty quick service.

Great food and would highly recommend coming here if you are staying in this area. Tasty breakfast/brunch, but they are pricy. If you are willing to spend this place is highly worth it! I recommend the waffles, chicken sausage, and cinnamon roll pancakes

I’ve been to LB several times, but this is my first review. The food I ordered today was nothing short of snacking! My son and I stopped in for lunch and they did not disappoint. My son had the chicken breast sandwich and Parmesan fries. I had the WILD MUSHROOM SPAGHETTI with grilled shrimp, which was made with Mushrooms, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, but they tasted more like sun-dried tomatoes, Sugar Snap Peas, Parmesan cheese. The sauce was velvety and seasoned to perfection. I’m not sure what the shrimp was marinated in, but it was delicious…a bit too salty, but the flavor was really good. I’ll have to come back just for this dish!

High Street on Hudson is a spinoff of the popular bakery and restaurant in Philadelphia, offering housemade breads, pastries, sandwiches, coffee, and cocktails. The casual and light-filled dining room provides a perfect spot to enjoy their elevated sandwiches like The Bodega or the Pastrami & Hash. Head baker Alex Boiss creates astonishing loaves such as New World ryes and German-style vollkornbrot that redefine the concept of bread as mere mealtime filler.
I really enjoyed breakfast here, so I'll have to come back for lunch or dinner sometime soon. The pastries really stole the show, and I can't recommend the black sesame Kouign-amann enough! Of course the pistachio croissant and cinnamon cardamom roll were both fantastic as well, and well worth the calories. We also tried the Jersey Girl which was delicious, and even gave me a pang of nostalgia for the porkroll/egg/cheese of my youth (but this was much more... elevated).

We stumbled upon Dimes during the Canal Open Street fair and decided to sit down for dinner on a whim. The outdoor seating added a nice touch to the vibe, and service was friendly throughout. We had the miso chicken, salmon, shrimp ceviche, and Caesar salad. everything was fresh and tasty, though the ceviche was just okay. Portions were big and filling. So is this what people are referring to when they say “dimes square”? The food is just alright. The black tahini toast I got was quite stale and no larger than my hand — not really worth $8. Mark's Off Madison is an upscale restaurant that offers a blend of homestyle Italian cuisine, deli classics, and diner favorites. The restaurant features a modern interior with minimalist decor and a warm ambiance, but the main attraction is its spacious terrace where patrons can soak up some sunshine.
My son and I had a fantastic lunch at Marks. The calamari is one of the best tastes I’ve ever had. The salmon on sautéed spinach which we split was also amazing. The wine list is affordable & the dining room has comfortable seating. Thank you all so very much. Fun menu Mark S. Cheers !

Mark's Off Madison was quiet midday during lunch after 1 pm. Tables were plentiful inside and outdoors. The restaurant is big but not too big. You get views into finishing stations in the kitchen where staff may be seen plating entrées. The bar is at the entrance and a decent size unless it is after work and crowded. Pricing is Manhattan typical. For lunch the Hen of the Woods salad was great and cost about $26. Adding the Belgian truffle fries made the combo hardier. Those were $16 and fresh for sure. Worth trying for the table. Service was decent and it made sense for the lack of traffic that time of day. I would return to eat again another day and try the signature lasagna.

Every time I'm in New York, I'll make a reservation at this restaurant and recommend it to everyone.

Heard the fresh pasta here did not disappoint. Was able to get seated right away without a reservation right when the restaurant open at 5PM to enjoy dinner. Got a seat right by the window where we could see others who wanted to enjoy a meal outside. The bread served to us was a mix of bagels, sourdough, and pizza crusts which was definitely different and tasty. Enjoyed the ceviche as an app which had just the right amount of citrus. For mains ordered the pappardelle with brisket ragu and insalata di mare. Will be back for the ceviche and ragu. Did not have any room for dessert but the soufflé cake is made to order. This restaurant definitely has a vibe with low lighting

I discovered this restaurant through a TikTok recommendation that claimed it had the best lasagne in Manhattan—and it did not disappoint. I specifically came for the lasagne, and it was truly exceptional: rich, flavorful, and expertly prepared. To start, we enjoyed the grilled calamari, served simply with tomato and basil—a unique presentation that proved surprisingly delightful. We also tried the seafood linguini, which featured a generous amount of lobster and was equally impressive in both taste and quality. We concluded our meal with the blueberry crumble, which was a perfect ending to an already outstanding dining experience. Every dish was thoughtfully executed, and the service was exceptional. Judith, our server, ensured we were well cared for throughout the evening. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to answer all of our questions. Overall, the experience was superb from start to finish. I look forward to returning.

Nestled in the heart of Boerum Hill, Building on Bond has become a beloved neighborhood staple that’s just a stroll away from Downtown Brooklyn. This charming eatery serves up New American comfort food throughout the day and transforms into a stylish bar scene as night falls. The interior boasts cozy wooden accents and an inviting atmosphere, making it perfect for casual dining or catching up with friends.
My girlfriend brought me here yesterday, it's a favorite of hers. The octopus was great, the potato and leek soup was terrific. Her salad was pretty great, and the mac & cheese was excellent. We also got coffee, and they have some really good coffee. My espresso and her cappuccino were both quite good. Will be coming back, likely many times.

Food was pretty underwhelming to be honest. The $16 burger came with no fries and was super simple, small and bland. The special of the day was two poached eggs over bread eith a side of some salad leaves. Not flavorful at all. It all felt like an amateur prepared meal and I really wanted to like it here, as the place has a nice ambience with sidewalk seating for now when the weather is nice. Skip this place for brunch at least. 😪

Lovely little neighborhood spot. Korean fried wings were crunchy and tasty! Burger was yummy, home cut fries are delicious. The brussel sprouts just might be sauteed with crack they are so good!

A great little spot. Can't believe we found it by accident. Food was excellent and service was on point. Listen to live music while eating brunch.

My fiancé and I enjoyed our brunch experience at Building on Bond. The interior is chic but understated, with a nice little coffee bar, a shared countertop space for parties of 1-2, and ample seating in the back, as well as vibrant colors (teal piping!) and creative accoutrements. The food was great. My smoked salmon eggs Benedict was all I could’ve hoped for. We also split a chocolate croissant, which was expertly baked. Prices are reasonable too!

The trout was amazing. They squeezed us in on a busy Friday night. There is a nice wine selection and craft beers but no Heineken. Our server was great.

Nice neighborhood cafe with great service and outdoor seating in the sun. Wasn’t too impressed with the food though, for the price you pay it’s way too bland. Had the avocado toast ($15) and burger ($16) and both were just ok.

Wine bar
Restaurant
Corkbuzz is a wine bar located in Union Square and Chelsea Market, offering an extensive selection of wines paired with small plates. Run by a team of beverage professionals, including Master Sommelier Laura Maniec, the space serves as a classroom for wine enthusiasts and professionals. In addition to classes and tastings, it also hosts masterclasses for the wine trade. The bar's two locations provide access to stellar wine lists on both the east and west sides of the city.
Corkbuzz is a fantastic spot for wine enthusiasts! Their weekly rotating blind flights are perfect for anyone studying or who enjoys blind tasting. The staff is super helpful, and both the food and wine options are excellent. Plus, their champagne bottles are priced surprisingly reasonably. Highly recommend stopping by for a blind tasting or some bubbles!

I’ve now been twice and I’m looking forward to my next visit. Got the sommelier sampler and it was great, ended up ordering a full glass of the orange wine. So good! Also got the cheese plate, probably the best cheese plate I’ve ever had. Service was great. I popped in around 4:15 before dinner on a rainy Wednesday and was able to sit at a table until 6, no reservation. Next time I’ll come back for dinner at Corkbuzz. Exceptional all around (bonus: lots of Chappell Roan on the playlist, I loved it! 🩷)

Corkbuzz is what I love to see in a wine bar; cozy atmosphere to promote conversation, beautiful decor to take in while sipping your wine, and a great selection of wines (and flights) to enjoy! This wine bar reminded me of my favorite wine bar, "Nègociant" and that is honestly one of the highest praises I could give. If I lived in NYC, this would be the place I'd go to monthly to enjoy their wine flights and relax. I didn't try the food, but the options definitely fit the wine options available. Overall, Corkbuzz was everything I was hoping for and it made for a great experience. I recommend!

If I were to ever describe the perfect wine bar, this place would be that. Also highly recommend their location in Chelsea Market. The selections are so well curated and the flights they have on offer are perfect categorical representations.
Vikram P — Google review
A little wine/drink bar and while the truffle popcorn was pretty stale, and they didn't have the best selection of wine (no Sancerre equivalent, the Ukrainian wine we had was strange body, and the Chardonnay too oaky). Service was fine, though as a walk-in, we had a limited time before their reservations would come in. There's an area split back by the wine racks (the room had some staffer just talking in the phone in there) for groups/parties.
Hank C — Google review
Great wine spot for an intimate atmosphere! The staff is very knowledgeable and provided us great recommendations. They have an extensive wine list from all around the world. If you don’t know what to drink, their wine tasting will do it. We also tried their burger which was delicious! I would definitely come back.

Service (4/5): The wait staff were attentive but there were different points where they were bustling around and we were unable to get their attention. We asked for recommendations to the wine bottles and I liked how they didn’t pick a top tier bottle just for the tips. Ambiance (4/5): Be prepared for a club inside with dark lighting and loud music but décor of a wine bar. While the vibes were very trendy, I felt it was hard to even hear the person across from me. Fries (5/5): The fries had a nice salty exterior and could be enjoyed on its own. I personally really loved the mayo dip. Bread w Butter (3/5): I get the optics of the sliced bread but since it was not all the way sliced, it was hard to pry apart the pieces in an appealing way. The side of butter was also ornately presented against a row of radishes. Wagyu Burger (4/5): The burger was juicy and well seasoned. The downfall was the bun! It was way too dry. I had asked for the fries to be cooked well-done and they delivered—each fry was a superior crisp! Overall, a tasty dish.

Extensive list of grower champagnes at retail prices - for me, this is reason enough to come to CorkBuzz, but it’s really just a great, laidback, unpretentious wine bar. For starters, their wine list is varied, interesting, peppered with the unusual, and with more than a few hidden gems. I think it appeals more to wine nerds than to oenophiles though. What excites you more on a wine list - verticals of Dom Perignon or a bottle of Marie-Nöelle Ledru? If you are the latter, then, CorkBuzz is probably a place you want to visit. Or you can be just a neophyte who wants to learn more about wine beyond the mainstream brands and varietals. One really fun thing to do at CorkBuzz is to try their wine flights that vary from the blind tasting (NZ sauvignon blanc, Argentinian torrontes, and Austrian grüner veltliner when we were there) to the sommelier’s choice (Austrian wines when we were there), to local wines and so on. It’s a relatively affordable (~$25) way to try a variety of wines from around the world. It’s always tough for me to decide between drinking a bottle of grower champagne and trying flights. The food menu is an eclectic mix of dishes that will pretty much go with a wide variety of wines. When I was there, they were running a special of the oddly named Mermaid Makeout oysters from the Peconic Bay on the half shell with mignonette sauce and cocktail sauce. They were small, briny and really refreshing after a day walking around hot and humid NYC. Their charcuterie plates are also pretty good, but just as a warning, don’t expect large portions as they use high-end cheeses and meats. For example, one of the cheeses on their cheese plate, Montgomery’s Cheddar, retails for $45 / lb at Murray’s Cheese. There are three choices for seating - the bar, high-top tables, or a communal table. Just as a warning, the high-tops are relatively small, so if you do the tastings and order food, you will probably run out of space and be uncomfortable. The decor is simple and classy with lots of light-colored wood. When we were there, the clientele sitting down were mostly groups of women or couples on dates, but the livelier bar area was crowded with all sorts of people. The staff is friendly and professional, but their respective knowledge of wine varies greatly from a person relatively new to the wine business to Master Sommelier (owner Laura Maniec), so it really runs the gamut. They have another outpost at the Chelsea Market, but I find that market to be an overcrowded tourist hellscape, so I’ve never been to the CorkBuzz in that location. This one is less touristy, but very close to Union Square, so it’s easily accessible from most places in Manhattan.

BIG shout out to TJ! I only want to come back when he’s working there. He made me the most amazing warm bowl & had such great customer service. I’ve been coming to this location for years as I work in the area, and I can tell you right now he’s the first employee to give such exceptional service! I LOVE Just Salad, but I HATE this location. The main girl who works each time I’ve gone after work between 5:30-6:30 hates her job and if you have any modification request or question, she’d make sure you know she hates that you’re in her presence lol I hate that this is the location on my way home. I go out of my way to go to others, which means I don’t eat it as often as I wish I could. Saw her treat a door dasher so rudely, couldn’t believe it. I feel so uncomfortable asking for changes to food I’m going to pay for and eat, which is insane.

Pizza restaurant
Mezzaluna is a charming trattoria located in the Upper East Side of New York City, serving simple pastas, wood-fired pizza, and other Italian dishes since 1984. The restaurant is known for its quality food and iconic Pollanca salad made with grilled organic chicken, fennel, apple, avocado, celery, tomatoes and corn topped with a zesty lemon dressing.
Quaint Italian resto. Friendly service and great variety on the menu from salads and antipasti to pasta, pizza, and salmon and steak. Our table ordered margarita pizza, lasagna, ravioli, and linguine nere. Perfect al dente pasta and a mildly spicy tomato sauce with nuggets of tomatoey grape tomatoes made for a perfect black linguine. Everyone was happy with their meals.

Food is probably a 3, but the prices make it a 2. Bread came with olive oil and two empty slots (others received olives and cheese). Meatballs were dry and the “famous” penne vodka tasted like it was heated in a microwave. White cloth prices in a pizzeria atmosphere. Avoid.
Andrew D — Google review
This place was highly recommended for it’s delicious food. Hmm, I would not even say it was ok. We ordered pizza, shrimps and calamari. Calamari was so bad, it had bitterness, I’m not sure if the problem was with souses or calamari itself but we couldn’t eat it. The service was pretty good, everyone was nice and understanding, they didn’t charge us for the calamari, and it was not a problem. Pizza with mushrooms was ok, as shrimps were, but I will not come back or recommend anyone this place. Come on guys! The main reason we go to restaurants is delicious food!

This upscale deli in Midtown caters to the workday crowd with its creative soups, salads, and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Despite its limited hours, it remains popular among professionals from nearby offices. The menu features a variety of dishes such as crispy chicken and longganisa available in rice bowls or sandwiches. Liquor is also available here. Customers appreciate the convenience of getting nutritious meals without having to pack their own lunch.
An okay spot for lunch with the price tag one gets used to seeing in a tourist venue between Herald and Rockefeller in Midtown... the selection was pleasantly surprising, having more than I thought they would. The quality was decent and the shrimp salad was particularly delicious. The beef dishes were a bit tough, perhaps from sitting too long in the warmer. There isn't anything particularly standout about the food. The decor is quite clean and crisp. However, they should do something about their doors in the winter, as it opens for a long gap of time and lets in a ton of cold air that will pretty much cool down the hot plates of anyone sitting at the tables in front of the cashier. Staff are quick to calculate prices and get you checked out.

I'm quite disappointed with our latest catering order that was delivered today. We order often from Dishes, getting the same things routinely for our staff lunch. We received our order and got chicken breasts instead of coconut chicken fingers. The size of the pesto pasta is the same size we normally get though I had asked and paid for 2-3 more serving when it was the same exact portion. I waited for them to exchange the chicken, which took over an hour, our staff had to wait to eat, and when receiving the correct order, the coconut chicken isn't prepared as usual, it wasn't crispy and soggy with 1 red sauce when it usually comes with the green sauce as well. Truly a big turn off. We hope you guys do better next time. I tried calling multiple times but no one is answering now and their online comment submission isn't working. Thanks.

it seems I was robbed. I went to this place to have my lunch. so i did get the foods like a buffet style. so i did get one of each food that was there that looks good and I like. and when i was in the counter i was sho shocked that the food i got was $32 for one person and my tray was not event full. and i only got little of this and little of that. it more expensive rather than eating at ichiran. Imagine $32 dollor for that food a small coffee. its so insane... so stay away if you are not willing to spen this much money for just a lunch of 1person. becuase for sure i will not go back.
ANNA P — Google review
This was one of the most infuriatingly overpriced and disappointing food spots I have ever had the misfortune of giving my money to. The food was truly 100% sub par, nothing special whatsoever. By 1pm half the food options on the buffet were empty and not being restocked. It was cold and did not look appetizing whatsoever. There is nothing “high-end” about this place whatsoever besides the price. I had little time to decide so I had to pick something and get out and get back to work. The atmosphere was completely and utterly bland, just like the food. There is no feeling, no spice, no color to this place. It is like that episode of SpongeBob where squidward’s Time Machine takes him to the all-white “Alone” dimension. $25 for a tiny container with a bit of pasta and 3 pieces of flavorless chicken. Great. Don’t go here. Go anywhere else. You will get tastier food, and more of it, for less.
Antonio H — Google review
Overpriced, can’t believe this was $24. Literally took like a tablespoon of a couple times and the container was as not filled as you can see. Price should be much lower for such small about

I dropped when the food that i got cost $35!!! Whattt!!! It doesn’t even taste special. No wonder why it’s not busy here. This ruined my lunch time. I should’ve stayed at Manhattan Deli across the street, although it’s always busy there, it doesn’t cost this much. I’m very surprised!
Phoebe Q — Google review
The selection was solid even though I arrived far too late. The spring roll with the peanut sauce was clutch and the selections of greens were a pleasant surprise. They have their own salad bar. I paid $29 with no drink but I find I eat more than most and most places like this are going to charge you similar prices.
Aaron S — Google review
In the photo is a $17 plate. I almost dropped when she told me the total for this! But I said whatever paid it and went on my way. Not only was this plate overpriced, it was a waste of money and disappointment. The sausages were over cooked, dry, and hard. The French toast was hard, and the egg whites were so over saturated with fats and oil it was mushy and disgusting. If you’re charging $17 for BS atleast let it be good BS. Just stick to their over priced pastries.

American Bar in New York offers a classic American bistro menu and cocktails in a traditional dining room, perfect for groups. The ambiance is reminiscent of turn-of-the-century America, attracting a young crowd. The service is highly praised, with accommodating staff for dietary restrictions. The outdoor seating provides a relaxing atmosphere with great vibes from other patrons. The food receives mixed reviews, but the standout dishes include the king salmon and herb salmon burger.
For almost a whole year, I walked past this restaurant every single day. It was always packed with customers, and I was curious — but since I was alone, I felt too shy to go in. Now that my project here is coming to an end, I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try. I had the lobster pasta and half a salad — both were absolutely delicious! The lobster pasta was perfectly done — the sauce, cherry tomatoes, and lobster were all full of flavor. I only regret not coming here sooner. ———— I just realized—was the tip not directly charged to my card? Should I have left cash on the table instead? I’m terrible sorry. I’ll come by tomorrow to make up for the tip.

I recently dined at The American Bar with a colleague and had an exceptional experience. The artichoke dip was absolutely delicious, and the Spicy Lobster Pasta was a highlight of the meal. The staff were courteous and attentive, providing top-notch service. While the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service, the liquor prices were a bit steep. Overall, I'd highly recommend The American Bar for its ambiance, service, and cuisine. Perfect for a night out with colleagues or a special occasion.

What an incredible spot in the West Village! I’d heard the buzz about this restaurant online and about their iconic burger and Peanut Chicken Salad, so of course we had to try both. They were absolutely incredible. The burger truly melts in your mouth, and the Peanut Chicken Salad came in a generous portion, full of flavor and tossed in the perfect amount of dressing. We also tried the café and dirty martinis, and both were great. I highly recommend American Bar to anyone visiting. The atmosphere was exactly what I imagined, and our server was quick and attentive. Just make sure to get a reservation in advance.

We came here on a recommendation and really enjoyed our meal. We ordered the tuna tartare, the pork Milanese, the cheeseburger and the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with Oreo crumble. We visited back in Canadian Thanksgiving (October) and I am sad to see the pork Milanese isn't on the menu anymore - I believe the chicken sandwich replaced it but my pork dish was out of this world. Thin, breaded perfectly, NOT overcooked (which is common with amateurs of this dish) and loads of flavour. We also took home leftover because it was HUGE. We were a little underwhelmed by the tuna tartare as it was light and fresh but didn't pack too big a punch with flavour. My husband and I also shared the cheeseburger which was juicy and delicious! We are huge burger fans :) Lastly, the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich - there is something so special about a warm gooey, cookie but with melting, cold ice cream and Oreo bits to add extra flavour. It was a wonderful dessert that had us limping out of the restaurant because we kept insisting we had to finish it. Worth every bite. The service was quick and the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor patio seating. A spot you won't want to miss!

Outstanding venue with great service and good food. 👍👍 Seated outside at a white clothed table. Very relaxing with great vibes coming off the other patrons. My cheese burger looked small but was packing a thick texture of beef. The highlight was the herb salmon burger which my date ordered and was twice the size. Unfortunately no beers on tap for brunch, but you can order a Bellini or Mimosa for $16. Easy metered parking in front for $4 hour. Greenwich is definitely bourgeoisie. Very packed young BEAUTIFUL crowd. Overall a wonderful experience. The gorgeous Maitre D at the door was very welcoming and pleasant in a striking fuchsia dress. Did not have a reservation but we were seated immediately. Thank you🙏🏻

Daily Provisions in the West Village is a small but bustling spot known for its delectable pastries and savory croissants. The Everything Croissant, filled with cream cheese, is a standout item that's worth trying. Despite the slightly high prices, the quality of food and attentive service make it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. The cruller of the month, featuring passionfruit coconut flavor, has received rave reviews for its delicious taste.
Perfectly cooked egg on a perfectly fluffy bun with thick cut bacon - excellent execution! Delicious latte - they offer decaf too! And the maple cruller is moist and fluffy. They really know what they're doing here! I thought I'd be a bit "bogged down" after this meal and here I am, wondering if I should order a second sandwich..! No hype here, just quality! Daily Provisions is my latest obsession. I have been coming here probably 3 times a week since I first tried it. It's from the same chef, Danny Meyer, that started Shake Shack and Eleven Madison Park. The patty melt is heavenly with a solid crunch and wonderful flavor from the sautéed onions. I usually also go for the seared salmon w/brussel sprouts, or the tuna melt. I emailed them about nutrition information a week ago and have not received a reply unfortunately. I love the royal blue atmosphere as it makes it feel homey and cozy. However I have noticed this location seems to run on the cold side, so I would suggest them to turn the heat up a bit (have heard comments from other patrons regarding this). I wish they closed at 10, instead of 9. Would make it easier coming back from the gym so I wouldn't have to rush out if I wanted to have their wonderful salmon w/brussels for dinner. Make sure to ask for your order to stay, as I’ve noticed that at another location, they automatically set it to go, which ruins the whole dining experience and presentation

Ordered the avocado toast with a fried egg (wife ate it too quickly for a picture), patty melt, and the salmon and potatoes. The patty melt was amazing/just right, although it did have some type of aioli, which it would have been better without. The salmon was moist and potatoes were toasty and delicious. Highly recommend!!!

On this rainy evening, when New York had emptied out and the streets felt steeped in a Woody Allen melancholy, I decided to have dinner at Daily Provisions — the legendary café concept by Danny Meyer. How beautiful that signature blue looks in the daytime — when all of Manhattan, in good spirits, rushes in for coffee, pastries, and breakfast, wrapped in warmth, smiles, and the aroma of espresso. And how quietly sad and lonely the city can feel on a dreary night like this. But then — a kind staff member greeted me with a morning-like smile. It made everything feel warmer. He didn’t glance at the clock, though it was close to closing time. He simply kept working. His colleague softly sang along to sunny, feel-good songs as she cleared tables and brought me my food. There were three of us in the café. Each quietly alone, but the care from the team gave hope — like something out of a Françoise Sagan novel — that maybe everything will be okay. The matcha was nice. The cup, however, had visible dishwasher marks — it’s probably time to refresh the tableware, dear team. I ordered three sides: — carrots with balsamic, — potatoes with parmesan, — and brussels sprouts. It seemed the sprouts had a rough day—overcooked and charred. Still, the space was clean and cozy, and I’m grateful it was open past 5 PM — otherwise, I would’ve been left without dinner. Also, a note: the restroom was clean and tidy. While the food was good this location in particular was not clean compared to the others ones I've been to with fruit flies and dirty dishes scattered throughout the restaurant. Seating was also lmited with a whole slew of laptops so had to take my order and eat elsewhere. Go to the one in Hudson yards instead.

I got a orange cinnamon cold brew which had a unique balance of sweet cold brew and fruity orange background taste. I went on a Sunday at 2 and had no wait. I was able to get a stool seat.

I can’t say enough great things about Keyona! She is incredibly kind. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how I needed it. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and spacious. You can tell she genuinely cares about the people she works with, and making sure i was happy with my meal and drink. Also highly recommended the Bacon Egg And Cheese as well!

Isle of Us, located uptown on 84th street, is a popular spot for picking up sweet nut mixes, seasoning spices like herbes de Provence and fennel/sesame pumpkin seed mix, as well as olive oils from the Greek brand Yiayia and Friends. These ingredients come in handy when serving sliced fruit like pear, fig or persimmon.
Isle of Us is such a delightful little spot! 💕🌷🍫✨🍭🍀I stopped by for a quick bite, and it was a fantastic experience. The space is bright and airy, with a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay longer. The food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee, a healthy snack, or one of their beautifully plated meals, everything feels curated with care. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. If you’re in the area and looking for a café that feels like a retreat, Isle of Us is a must-visit. Perfect for a quiet afternoon or catching up with friends over great food!

OKAY RATING Here's a refined version of your review with a smooth flow: --- We stopped by for a healthy lunch and found the experience to be just okay. Since there were no available tables inside, we opted for outdoor seating. While the salmon was fresh, it had a stronger fishy taste than I prefer—even though I enjoy sashimi. My wife, however, really liked it. The service was excellent—everyone was welcoming and attentive. Perhaps dining indoors would have made for a more enjoyable experience, as the outdoor area had a bit of an unpleasant smell. --- Let me know if you'd like any adjustments!

We had a nice lunch at Isle of Us. My daughter and I both had the chicken and kale salad and shared a slice of olive foccacia. The salad was very good with a lot of moist chicken, kale, apples, and a zasty lemon vinaigrette dressing. The foccacia was also tasty.

I had a great lunch here! The Green Eggs and Jam Sandwich was near perfection with a fluffy, custard-like egg that I will be dreaming about forever. The Fall Harvest bowl and the Salmon Rice bowl also received rave reviews from the tables. The Cardamom Honey Bun was a perfect sweet treat post-meal. Toss in friendly service and ideal location near Central Park and the museums, and this is now my favorite lunch spot on the Upper East Side.

I love this place so much, hard to not go in and leave with half the store. I cater from here a lot and it’s always a hit for events and business lunches. I keep the hot sauce in my fridge to put on everything. The chicken, veg options, grains and deserts are my favorite - especially the chocolate chip cookies and gluten free brownies.

Food was not ok. Tasteless… for the price I would expect more. Salmon was cooked almost raw, and tasted weird, I asked to cook it more. Service is good.

Hidden gem on the UES... Lots of vegan and vegetarian choices. Vegan brownie was delicious. Everything is prepared fresh to order. Super helpful and friendly staff. Limited seating indoors and outside. Some grab and go selections too. Soups and salads are their specialty. Teas, coffee... Highly recommend this place 👍.

Cafe
Smile To Go is a trendy and low-key spot known for its creative sandwiches, salads, coffee, and baked goods. The shop offers an array of seasonal and delicious salads displayed in pans that give off a small dinner party vibe. With about 40 daily-changing menu options, customers can choose from a variety of market sides to fill their takeout containers. The cozy atmosphere attracts a stylish crowd, with hip finger-tattooed patrons standing in line alongside others carrying Opening Ceremony bags.
Shoutout to the staff, especially my boy Lazarus and one of the woman workers here, I unfortunately never got her name, but the good energy they provided is what keeps the place going, as well as the cooks in the back, doing their thing, cheffing it up. Good food, good people, and good atmosphere. All you can ask for in a place like this. 🤙🏽

i ordered a ham and gruyère sandwich at 1pm and came for pickup at 3 .. when i arrived they said they said they ran out of my ham sandwiches but i could pick another kind if i liked (none which appealed to me). they happened to have half of a ham sandwich so i took that and asked for a refund for the other half. but the other half that should of been mine was sold to someone else.. im sorry but that’s just bizarre ?? this business is responsible for letting me know if they dont have what i ordered before i arrive, you’d think that’s common sense. nobody apologized for this ridiculous service and im starving for the other half of my sandwich as i write this review on my lunchbreak.

The food is pretty good, no seating so very express. You clean up after yourself after getting food from counter. Plates average around $20. I’m only leaving this review because they used to offer free water w cups at a little station but they recently took it away and I’m not sure if they just got lazy or greedy, but wont be tipping from now on until they bring this back.

Cafe in Soho. Very small spot for breakfast and lunch. There’s choice of fresh backed pastries, breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruits, granola and good coffee. For lunch you can treat yourself for fresh sandwich and salad. Hot food also available.

used to be our go to lunch in the office but in the last couple months portions have gotten tiny and very inconsistent. I’ve had lattes not filled even close to the top of the cup and the espresso is burnt a lot of the time. staff also always seems to be in a mad mood. disappointing because the food is usually good and fresh but just can’t justify the price anymore :(
Isabella — Google review
Great spot for picking up coffee, soups or sandwiches. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. Be advised that this a high quality, busy, but tiny place. Seating is not really an option here.
Fred A — Google review
The cashier was not courteous He seemed to rush me in placing my order , and lacked enthusiasm in his politeness. After I paid he motioned the receipt to me and proceeded to begin servicing the guest behind me with enthusiasm and politeness. Totally different approach than with his service towards me Several of the guests also made mefeel uncomfortabl, and I could not enjoy me coffee due to an atmosphere that I found to be uncomfortable, unwelcoming and unsafe. The fact that other customers as well as the employee felt very unsafe to me and it was disruptive to my day because when I I entered the coffee shop, didn't expect to be treated that way. Loud music Not a good environment if you are looking for privacy with a cup of coffee while you ise your computer for a zoom business call ,

Ice cream shop
Strawberry Home is a beloved spot in Greenwich Village known for its delightful cuisine made from fresh, local ingredients. The cozy setting adds to the charm, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. Visitors are greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by the friendly staff, who provide excellent customer service. The shop also offers an array of cute merchandise, including bubble tea keychains and strawberry plushies.
We ordered the soft serve with strawberry boba and another one with passion fruit jam. I cannot express how delicious the ice cream is here, we will definitely be back. Generous portions and yummy unique toppings. Only downside was the atmosphere (very small) and service could have been slightly better. Overall great experience :)
Chloe P — Google review
I wish I could say I loved it, but I can't. Cute concept - great topping flavors, combining the ideas of boba and ice cream...but a few things keep Strawberry Home from being on my future rotation. First, the quality of the ice cream is just subpar for my taste. It's too icy and gives cheap. Second, there is only one flavor of ice cream: vanilla. The options come in the toppings (which were very good by the way). Third, the place is way too small. Luckily, no one was in there so I could sit down. Otherwise, there is really only a place for *one* customer, so expect to grab and go. Altogether, not terrible - but IMO, it does not warrant the high ratings.

Yum! The strawberry lemonade was amaze! I loved the ambiance and the price was good too! Will be back. Oh and staff was sweet :)

Very nice drink spot. Comfortable little sitting area and the lady was extremely nice. I had a strawberry lemonade and it was very refreshing. My wife had a black tea and tapioca pearls. Very cute place.

Small little shop - super cute interior and super friendly service. To be honest the purple lemonade drink wasn’t that great but the ice cream with the bubbles was pretty good, the kids ate it up! They still deserve 4 stars for the very warm atmosphere and such friendly staff!

Boba tea consists of watery powder. Tapioca was acceptable, but flavors were not great. Skip it and go to one of the many good ones nearby. Not sure why it's rated so high.

Stopped in to grab a brown sugar Boba sundae after seeing it on the sign outside. We were immediately welcomed with excitement from the employees inside. They were so sweet and gave great customer service, they just treated us like we were old friends they hadn't seen in a long time and it was just too cute! Our sundae came up very fast, the inside of this little shop is very well decorated, inviting, and extremely clean. Prices very reasonable, would definitely visit to try some more goodies, and would highly recommend to everyone!

Nestled in the vibrant Lower East Side, Northern Spy Food Co. is a charming American eatery that celebrates seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. With its inviting decor featuring repurposed wood, this cozy spot is perfect for a leisurely lunch or brunch after exploring nearby vintage shops. The menu boasts hearty options like corned beef hash and lamb burgers paired with their renowned duck fat fries—thick-cut potatoes fried to perfection and served with a zesty yogurt dip.
We ordered a selection of starters, mains and sides. Everything was delightful. The pork rolls, cauliflower, gnocchi, fluke and duck fat fries stood out. Perfect for a group of coworkers if you arrive before 6:30p.

Lapin and I came to this airy restaurant for dinner. The eatery constantly updates their menu and sometimes it's different online and in the restaurant. We made reservations but we still had to wait for a bit. The place was packed with people constantly being asked to wait for seats. Lapin ordered the Beef Tartare ($17) which he enjoyed. I ordered the Rock Shrimp soup which was okay. It had unique taste and texture but after a couple of bites -- I was done. We ordered the Ricotta pita ($13) to share and enjoyed it. Lapin got the Albacore Tuna ($27) and liked it. I had the Roasted Chicken ($27) and thought it was a bit dry. There was nothing special to it. Lapin got the Poached Pear ($9) and I got the Warm Chocolate Tart ($9). They were okay but the poached pear to me tasted better the next day. The food is tasty but nothing noteworthy especially with the price. I do love the ambiance, the good service and the decor so I might visit again when they change up their menus. Do note, the name is after the type of apples that grow upstate (although, I never seen them featured on the menu)..

Got a last minute reservation here and had a great time. The food was delicious--they served a kale salad before it was cool--and the place is small but not cramped. It's named after a variety of apples and it fits the country vibe of the restaurant. They have a small but creative cocktail menu. Great place for a birthday date or special occasion.
Michael F — Google review
Love the kale salad. But they really get inventive when they do sunday suppers and off-the-menu items by the chef. The fish is always amazing and I love the Northern Spy Cup cocktail. This place gets packed so go early for brunch or dinner.
Evelyn K — Google review
Came here on a recommendation from a colleague, and was impressed by the crisp-rustic atmosphere & exposed wood, well-designed menu, and wine selection. Their crispy gnocchi with shaved brussels sprouts was creamy & perfectly cooked, and complimented by the pear salad as a starter. Paired with a light syrah, and hazelnut chocolate torte for dessert, I left pleasantly full (but not sick!) and immediately thanked my friend for her tip! While the food and decor was superb, the seating was very cramped and would be uncomfortable to anybody who happened to be of large stature.
Adri C — Google review
Organic and inventive food that gives some flavor of San Francisco cuisine. On weekends it's a good 30mins-2 hour wait. Make sure your entire party is present since they won't seat you until everyone is there. Their Kale Salad is super popular but can get a bit salty. One of the waiters that was serving me wasn't that friendly and had an attitude.
Stan L — Google review
I hate to commit but this might be my favorite restaurant in NY. Although it is small I have always been seated and I have never been served anything I didn't absolutely love. The attention to freshness and detail makes every mouthful an experience. It's not the kind if food you would make for yourself unless of course you had all day to really put a tremendous amount of thought and energy in to it. After I finish eating my soul feels fed as well. That being said Haters gonna hate you can't please everyone.

Came for Sunday brunch @ 11:45a - no problem finding table, there is also a small bar. Delicious and beautiful kale salad, fresh celery root cocktail. Casual, diverse patrons.

Back Forty West is a delightful gem nestled in the bustling SoHo area, offering a casual yet inviting atmosphere perfect for any meal of the day. This farm-to-table eatery specializes in New American cuisine, making it an ideal brunch destination with its reasonable prices and standout dishes like their French toast and mouthwatering burgers topped with thick-cut bacon. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, enhanced by medium lighting that creates a relaxed vibe—perfect for date nights or catching up with friends.
At risk of sounding superlative, here I had among the best meals I've eaten in my life. Killer asparagus, stellar rosemary fries, and the steak was brilliant. Melt-in-your-mouth good. The chocolate hazelnut cake was to die for. And wait staff is top-knotch. Oh yeah... didn't even mention the atmosphere. Medium-lit relaxed feeling, with a homespun welcoming vibe. Best date night, period.

Brunched here and loved menu. I had biscuits and gravy and other guests had burgers and we all loved our choices. We had a couple cocktails each and were definitely surprised by the tab, but that's SoHo for you! Cute place, great music selection and a must if it's nice out - huge windows!
Valerie K — Google review
Stopped in for a late bite to eat. Promptly seated and waitress was nice. However, when it came to the food, a few things were off. The pecan trout wasn't seasoned that well although it was cooked superbly. The bread pudding we were told was awesome but unfortunately it took long to prepare and the product was lackluster as the butterscotch was burnt, rendering an off flavor as sugar was basically torched. For price point, I would perhaps search for something else in neighborhood but it is suitable. Our waiter was also really attentive.
Joseph H — Google review
This place is definitely in the cut. It is a great place for brunch with reasonable prices. There isn't a huge food selection but they do have some great choices!. I'd recommend the french toast or the burger with cheese and their thick cut bacon. If you go when it's warm try and sit downstairs or upstairs by a window. There is no ac so it can get a little warm upstairs. I would definitely return.
Shavonne H — Google review
I'd say that my experience at Back Forty West was ok. I had higher expectations for the drinks and the food–all good, but I was hoping for a bit more. I had the Princely Ransom, a gin cocktail that was fantastic. The pork nuggets were a fine appetizer as well. We ordered the pork ribs and I was expecting (though the menu did not say) baby back ribs. The ribs were a bit tough. Overall, a good experience, but I think they have room to grow.
Jon W — Google review
This is a farm-to-table restaurant and the decor here speaks to that with its natural wood finish. This is a small place with additional seating on the upper floor, and the aromas here are transparent which can make the wait seem longer on an empty stomach. The staff is very friendly. I'm always appreciative of a restaurant that is accomodating to food allergies, and the waitress here was very knowledgable of the gluten-free options. I got a fish dish which I thought was great and just the right amount of food. A friend got the coriander crusted chicken which was very flavorful. I also heard their pork dishes were really good.
Janet P — Google review
Located near soho it's a quaint restaurant with limited seating. Typical brunch prices for NYC ~$15. We stopped in here for a break from shopping. I got the oysters ($3 each)- SO SALTY- not sure what kind they were but they were served over a bed of salt. My friend got the yogurt- looks fancy but I don't think it was worth $10 bucks. My other friend got the seasonal soup ($10)- toasted butter bread was good but the soup had way too many chickpeas in it. The presentation of the food is excellent but the overall taste/quality is only ok. Service is really friendly but it's def overpriced. This review is for brunch.

Two of us had lunch on a Saturday. It cost $55 for three little bite-size pork pieces, two burgers, two sides of fries, one drink, and 20% tip. We were both SO underwhelmed. We were greeted nicely and sat upstairs promptly. They seem to want to squeeze as many tables into a small space as possible; tables have little room beside them. The waitress pulled the table away from the seat/wall so I could squeeze past and sit down, then pushed the table back (squishing legs/knees in the process) before my husband could take a seat opposite me. Food order was taken promptly but I was surprised when the waiter told me the 'well done' burger would take 20 minutes to cook. That seems like a long time for a patty. My husband's 'Back Forty' cocktail arrived soon, but my freshly squeezed lemonade did not. I figured they'd serve it with my meal, so I wasn't too worried. Twenty minutes or so later and our food is served (one beef burger, one pulled pork sandwich). Still no lemonade. I tell the food server (not sure where our actual waiter was at this point) that I'm still waiting on the lemonade, and ask if he can find out about it; our original waiter came over and told me they were out of lemons so couldn't make my drink. Wow... maybe you could have mentioned this ANY TIME in the last 20 minutes since you took our order? No? The burgers were "meh". My beef burger was $12 and was: a bun, with a patty on it. On the side of the plate was two pieces of lettuce, some slivers of onion, and a few pieces of pickle. An interesting method for serving a burger; make the customer construct it themselves. (PS. Cheese or bacon or something else were optional extras, for a cost.) My husband's pulled pork sandwich, also around $12, was served lukewarm and not very flavourful. It was just shredded pork in some sauce, inside what looked like a supermarket hamburger roll. We both got rosemary fries on the side of our burgers ($2 for side of fries). The fries were nice, if a bit too salty. Oh and the Back Forty cocktail: not worth the $11 for a lowball glass, 2/3 full of ice, of whiskey + maple + lemon juice (weird, I thought they were out of lemons). Considering it's their signature cocktail, it's pretty gross. It was really awkward when we went to leave at the end of our meal; we pushed our table to one side so I could get out the other side. If they removed just 1 table (losing only 2 seats) then I think the customers along the benchseat wall would be much more comfortable. So... $55 for two people for lunch (one tiny entree + two burgers + two sides + 1 drink...). I wish we'd gone to a fast-food joint or a food truck!
