Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, the Mercure Bilbao Jardines De Albia offers a serene escape with its understated yet stylish rooms. Guests can unwind at the modern café and bar or indulge in rejuvenating treatments at the exceptional spa facilities, which feature a thermal circuit complete with hydromassage jets. The hotel also boasts sauna access and a sundeck for relaxation under the sun.
Very nice hotel. Didn't expect anything, since someone else booked in and I was just a "lazy follower" not very ambitious to look for myself. Breakfast was nice and to my taste. Staff at the front desk and the bar were super friendly and very helpful especially during the big power outage happened that day. If I ever return to Bilbao this hotel, upon availability, will be my first choice.
Matthias K — Google review
We enjoyed our 6-night stay at this hotel. The staff were very kind and helpful, especially with sorting out the bus timetable and giving us sightseeing tips. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was the spa facility. When I found out that the spa (excluding massage services) was out of order, I was a bit disappointed. I wish this had been mentioned on the website, as the spa was a key reason for booking this hotel. That said, the gym was still available. If you're travelling by car and plan to use the hotel’s parking garage (€20 per day), make sure to reserve a spot in advance, as it can fill up quickly. Overall, the facilities were nice and the atmosphere was friendly.
Mei M — Google review
Part of the reason i chose the hotel were the images online which showed the nice linens, stylish rooms (and wallpaper), location and the breakfast. There is something to be said for getting into a comfortable bed with really nice sheets. The breakfast was first rate and had a real array of foods, both in the local style and in general. The service at the desk was, in a word, lovely. I was there for five days and they would recognize me when i left or returned.

Great location and comfortable rooms, but service and facilities need improvement The hotel’s location is excellent – right in the centre of Bilbao with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms themselves were very comfortable, well-maintained, and the housekeeping team was friendly and did a great job. Bar and restaurant: Service in the bar and restaurant during the afternoons was fantastic – staff were warm, attentive, and made guests feel welcome. The only disappointment was that the outdoor terrace remained closed during our stay (late July, with temperatures in the high 20s) and staff couldn’t explain why. Reception and service: Reception was the biggest let-down. It’s located right by the doorway entrance, but during our four-day stay we were never greeted or acknowledged when passing through. The team came across as disengaged and unhelpful, and there’s no concierge service available. Spa facilities (or lack of): The hotel is marketed as a “hotel and spa,” but the reality was very different. At check-in, we were told the spa was downstairs but weren’t informed that the spa baths had been closed for some time, with no sign of any reopening date. Spa treatments (massages, facials, etc.) were also fully booked until the end of August, and the spa staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming when we enquired. Complaints to reception were met with an “it’s not my problem” attitude, and there was no follow-up from management. If a spa or pool is important to your stay, check other local hotels – many have them fully operational with outdoor terraces as well. Breakfast: Breakfast can be chaotic if you arrive later in the morning, as the restaurant is too small for the number of guests and tables are very limited. Car park access: Be aware that the car park entrance is not on the same level as reception. If you arrive on foot, you’ll need to climb several flights of stairs to reach reception. There’s a locked door at the lower level by the car park with no intercom, which could easily be improved. Overall, while the rooms and location are great, the lack of spa facilities and unhelpful reception service were disappointing – especially given how the hotel is advertised.

A great hotel. My wife and I loved the location. Jorge, one of the bartenders was excellent. He went above and beyond with help on sights, restaurants, transportation. It really was a pleasure to hang out at the bar with Jorge.

Very disappointing — would not recommend We booked a family room for three people for 5 nights, and unfortunately the experience was frustrating from the start. The room was extremely dark, with a tiny window facing a narrow interior shaft — absolutely no natural light or proper ventilation. It felt claustrophobic and depressing, especially for a longer stay. We asked to change rooms, but were constantly given the runaround: • First they told us to come back in the morning. • In the morning, we were told to come after 2 PM. • When we came at 3:30 PM, they said it was too late — we should’ve come before 3 PM (!). It was clear they had no intention of helping. We couldn’t even unpack our suitcases, unsure whether we’d be moved or not. The receptionist was especially unhelpful — cold, unfriendly, and seemed more interested in avoiding responsibility than assisting guests. We’re staying for five nights, not just one or two. Living in a dark room with a view of a concrete wall is unacceptable. We expected much better from a Mercure hotel. Really disappointed

Fantastically located hotel. Near the Guggenheim and shopping and the old town. Really comfortable beds. Quiet rooms. Complimentary bottled chilled water every day in the room. Lovely Nuxe amenities that smell gorgeous. Breakfast was very comprehensive and delicious, including made to order omelettes. The staff were very nice, welcoming plus responsive and helpful. Very popular pizzeria opposite. Bars, coffee shops, El Corte Ingles and other clothing stores within a very short walk. Our hairdryer wasn’t working and another was delivered to the room. The air conditioning wasn’t adequate at its lowest temperature and the room became too hot causing us to wake at 4am. The staff explained they turned off the air conditioning between 2-4am every night, which is a little strange. The second room for our teenagers was cooler. We raised this with the hotel but I am unsure it was resolved fully. This is a big drawback in my view as being awoken every night is not restful. A major issue for those with children is that the windows in the bedrooms opened wide inwards with a 4 storey drop to the ground and no security feature to limit the width of opening. Very dangerous especially for kids. Not unique to this hotel but still concerning. Otherwise a fabulous stay.

Great proximité to everything on my itinerary, and helpful and welcoming staff particularly in the breakfast room and front desk! You reaffirmed why this hôtel is among my top choise when traveling. Thank you.

Hotel Miró is a stylish and modern hotel located in Bilbao, offering chic rooms and suites designed by Barcelona designer Antonio Miro. The hotel features a spa area, self-service bar, and a lending library. Situated near the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Museum of Fine Arts, it provides an unbeatable location for art lovers. The light-filled rooms offer spectacular city views and are adorned with contemporary photographs.
I really liked this hotel and loved the location. It worked out perfectly for everything we wanted to do on this trip to Bilbao. From the moment we arrived the staff was attentive and took great care of us from the beginning of our stay until checking out. Breakfast was delicious and the perfect start for each day. You’re just minutes from the Guggenheim museum, shopping, and lots of restaurants. A taxi stop is located on this street and city transportation is minutes away. Definitely recommend this hotel 😊

Excellent place to write a book. Break out and saunter the 300 steps to the Guggenheim Bilbao. Be aware that this is Basque country and everything shutters at 11:00 pm at the latest, but you'll be happy staying in if you like. Everyone at the hotel is devoted, professional, and attentive. I love that it's a small building, but almost feels like a resort. There's a reading room next to the lobby with first class art books related to the Guggenheim Bilbao exhibitions, which are all world class. Checkout is at noon, very generous. Very modern amenities, clean postmodern design, great coffeemaker in each room, room numbers are on the floor, not the doors - a lovely touch among many in this perfect hotel. A model for all others, in my view. They got everything right.
Francisco R — Google review
Can’t say enough good things about Hotel Miró. Had a quick one night stay after returning from San Sebastián. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The location of this hotel is down the street from the Guggenheim and you can easily get to it via tram. Additionally it is a nice walk along the river if you want to visit the old town. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again!
Albert C — Google review
We loved staying at Hotel Miro during our visit to Bilbao. The room was so comfortable and the service was excellent. We particularly appreciated the free passes to the Guggenheim, and the free welcome drinks at the hotel bar. The location was unbeatable as it was steps away from all the amazing places Bilbao has to offer. Highly recommend Miro for anyone visiting Bilbao.
Haifa S — Google review
I'd give them 10 stars if possible. The location is great, easy access to tram and the Guggenheim. The rooms are a little on the small side but well laid out. Only complaint on rooms was that only one side of the bed had an electrical outlet. Not a biggie. But what makes this place special is the staff. They are SIMPLY AWESOME. My wife was hospitalized for a short period during our stay, and the concierge and front desk went above and beyond in helping us talk with the hospital in their native language. The cleaning staff helped my wife with her compression socks. All of these actions cave from their hearts, I can't thank them enough! You won't be sorry staying here.
Michael A — Google review
Nice hotel in a great location. Staff were very helpful and we got a free drink in the self service bar and they even gave us free tickets to the Guggenheim which is just across the road (very close). I think this was luck and wouldn't expect them to have these for every guest. We chose an Urban Executive room and it wasn't made clear on Hotels.com that these are "internal" rooms, which means the window is frosted glass and you cannot see out which makes the room dark. So I would suggest not booking an "Urban" room but other than that a good choice.
Tony E — Google review
This hotel is perfectly located near the Guggenheim in the heart of the vibrant art and restaurant district of Bilbao. It's only a short walk along the river to Old Town. The rooms are lovely and the staff are extremely helpful and professional.
Gabrielle G — Google review
3 stars only because the staff is very accommodating and tries to please. 0 stars for the bed. We arrived late from Madrid and found our bed to be one of the hardest we have ever experienced. It was unbearable so after an hour of tossing trying to sleep we switched rooms and found that bed to be tolerable but still not ideal. the manager in the morning insisted that all the beds were the same and that they change them every 2-3 years etc. They were different and we were able to sleep. Having travelled the world in comfort the beds were just not for us. We decided to move on and were given no refund for the second night and they even charged us for a continental breakfast. In closing good location with very firm beds.

Occidental Bilbao is a refined urban hotel that perfectly blends comfort and convenience. Nestled just minutes from the historic heart of the city, it serves as an ideal launching point for exploring major attractions while offering a peaceful retreat for restful nights. The property boasts modern amenities including a restaurant, spa, gym, and both indoor and outdoor pools. Guests can enjoy well-designed rooms featuring minimalist decor with neutral tones, backlit mirrors, large TVs, and USB ports for added convenience.
Lovely find. Location is walking distance to old town. But the local vicinity has a number of nice places to eat and drink. Be prepared, as walk into town is down hill. But walk back is via number of steep uphill routes. Hotel was clean, staff very friendly and accomodating. Served some nice food. Outdoor pool was clean and very welcome on the hot days. Parking, roughly 20 euros a day and plenty of spaces. Would highly recommend.
Dave C — Google review
Not worth the price. Had better service and value from ibis budget. Do not recommend. Save yourself the money and the effort book somewhere else. Booked double room got twin bed. No welcome or acknowledgement upon arrival at reception. Pool was closed and it was not mentioned anywhere once we had booked (we booked there specifically for the pool....) Cleanliness is not up to the 4 star standard they aspire to be. Service is fine, but for 150€/night it's a joke.
Charlie V — Google review
We stayed two nights. Rooms are basic, decor different shade of brown which I disliked but my husband liked! The outdoor pool is lovely, open at 9am. Skip the breakfast as the cafe in the lobby is cheaper and friendly.
Ruth P — Google review
The Occindental in Bilbao is a 15 minute taxi ride from the Airport. The rooms are spacious, bright and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are very helpful. We had breakfast both mornings and it was very tasty and well prepared. There is a gym attached to the Hotel which we chose to avoid. The Hotel is in a fantastic location. A 10 minute walk takes you the Metro station . The station is one stop away from the Old Town Centre stop. This Hotel ticks all the right boxes and is one I would recommend to any would be visitors to Bilbao.
Bernard L — Google review
Nice hotel close to several bus stops and the metro station and 2 parks. Room was basic, bathroom was a good size with large shower. Could have done with a mirror at the desk or area in the bathroom for vanity items. Bar area large and friendly, drinks fair priced. Didn't make it to the spa which is 20 euro per visit but the outside pool is large and free.
Rach — Google review
Nice hotel Relatively close to centre. Staff were lovely. Breakfast and dinner great. Only issue is that I chose it for the pool. However there are very few sun loungers... So most people had to put a towel on the floor. Shame.
Tony H — Google review
Nice hotel in convenient location with on-site parking and outdoor swimming pool. Restaurant (breakfast & dinner) is high quality and good value. Rooms could benefit from a little redecoration & minor maintenance in places, but overall comfortable and well equipped.
Stephen — Google review
Hotel is 20 min away from Bilbao airport. Its a nice Hotel with Pool and Restaurant Facility. 24Hrs receiption available. A bit outside of the main city but Metro makes easy to commute to the main city. Overall nice hotel with good supportive staff and services.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, the Catalonia Gran Vía Bilbao is a chic four-star hotel that opened its doors in March 2021. Just a stone's throw from the lush Parque de Dona Casilda de Iturrizar and only 600 meters from San Mames Metro Station, this stylish retreat offers an array of modern amenities designed for comfort and relaxation.
Loved this hotel! 1 night stay elsewhere close by then 2 nights here. No comparison. Hotel Catalonia is excellent. Loved the room (it’s not vanilla like many other hotels), full of features and functionality, great amenities and comfort. The hotel itself was excellent too. A charming lounge/ lobby/bar on reception side and dining plus outdoor terrace on the other. Lower ground floor spa & wellness centre was a wonderful surprise. If you have time (and your bathers) an hour package to use the heated pool, the Vichy sower, steam room and sauna is just 19 Euro. Well worth it after long days of travel or walking. The location was good and Bilbao is very easy for walking around. There’s a Bilbao City View bus stop very close by. Here’s my tip. Flag them down. You can be standing at the red sign and still they will ignore you unless you wave them. Crazy but true!
Leanne L — Google review
Outstanding and first to mention is the friendliness of the hotel team, at the reception as well as at the restaurant. The room was very clean, bath room with a spacious shower and a terrace with a nice view and sun in the evening. Breakfast buffet was also very good, including a cooking station for fresh eggs. At rush hour times the breakfast room can get a little bit noisy, but the outside area is calm and quite with only a few people, guess most folks are afraid of the additional steps to walk to the buffet. :) The rooftop pool is pretty small, only a handful of sun beds, The hotel is easy to reach by car, the Guggenheim Museum is just a few minutes tom walk, the old town about 30 minutes. The entrance to the garage is very tight, but manageable, even with a bigger car. Once you made it in, the parking spots are quite spacious.
Alex M — Google review
Perfect location and very nice hotel even though I wouldn't call it the most modern. The room was very big, nicely equipped, very clean, and comfortable. Every receptionist we spoke to was incredibly arranging, helpful and nice. The breakfast buffet is sincerely one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel, however the dinner offer was a little bit disappointing and expensive. The spa is small but very cosy and has all the necessary facilities. The masseuse is very professional, sweet and welcoming. The swimming pool on the rooftop however is very much advertised on the hotel's pictures, but it's actually very very small.
Anja D — Google review
Classic Catalonia style and quality. Great staff. Very complete and good breakfast. Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. The spa is also very nice. Not very big, but an hour can pass faster than expected. It's a walk to the old town... But a nice one no matter which way you go.
William ( — Google review
Lovely welcome from the reception team who gave us a map and suggestions as to where to visit. The hotel was located on one of the main streets close to the river which was an ideal starting point for exploring the city. The room was spacious, clean and everything worked. Best of all was probably the breakfast, a great selection of fresh fruit and plenty of hot and cold options. The Spa was extra but reasonable and a great way to relax after walking round the sights. We've used this chain before and will do so again.
Anthony Q — Google review
We loved our stay here. We will definitely stay here again. Room - The room had a small balcony that overlooked the hotel's enclosed patio space so it was very quiet at night. The shower was phenomenal. We didn't hear anything from other rooms or hallways when we were in our room. AC - Has a usable AC. We've stayed at 2 other hotels in Spain (different cities) that list AC but it's been unusable. Breakfast - The breakfast buffet had a lot of options which we really appreciated. The fruit, yogurt, and granola selections were our favorite. Also the croughnuts. Staff - The staff was all professional and helpful. We had already figured out transportation to the bus station but they offered to help us get a cab at checkout which I found thoughtful. Area - There is a very nice park across the street that was lovely to walk around. There are a ton of shops and restaurants within an easy walking distance.

Really nice stay at this relatively new hotel. Staff were all young, extremely friendly and helpful. Room a very good standard, balcony a nice touch although the view is only of the courtyard. Super breakfast. Lovely rooftop terrace with a shallow pool and views to the hills. 15 minute walk to Guggenheim, 25 minute stroll to old town. Definitely recommend a stay here.
Dean G — Google review
We had a fantastic stay! Patricia was so warm and welcoming when she checked us in — such a lovely first impression. On our last day, David took great care of us and made sure everything was perfect before we left. The hotel itself is incredibly comfortable: the beds are excellent, the AC works really well (a huge plus in the summer!), and everything was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend staying here — it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao is a chic and ultra-modern hotel located directly opposite the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. The hotel's unique glass facade offers stunning views of Frank Gehry's titanium-clad masterpiece. Designed by Javier Mariscal, the stylish hotel features contemporary art throughout, including a towering pillar sculpture in the lobby and modern paintings in the white-and-charcoal rooms, some of which offer premium Guggenheim views.
The hotel is just perfect! It is located centrally. It is located next to the Guggenheim Museum! From the Airport you can take the bus and reach the hotel in about 15 minutes. Bars and Restaurants are in walking distance. The rooms are really spacious and super clean! Highly appreciated that every evening the bed is prepared for a relaxing night. The staff is super friendly and very engaged. The breakfast at the rooftop is awesome! You get everything you need and want! The view is amazing! The rooftop opens during the afternoon again. It was perfect to take an aperitif before going for dinner. The service was awesome! Highly recommended hotel for a trip to Bilbao!

Such a cute and approachable hotel! The artistry of the building is awesome but the staff and service is even more exceptional! From the terrace team serving breakfast to the concierge and door team providing you with all the information you need to see some of the most iconic places in Bilbao! The rooms are very clean and spacious and well taken care of by the room attendants. They have a casual restaurant as well as a fine dining restaurant called that you won't be disappointed with! Highly recommend The Artist Grand Hotel of Art for your next stay in Bilbao!

This hotel feels just perfect to me. Together with my husband, we visit 15–20 hotels a year. They are always 5-star and highly rated, but until now there were always small details that spoiled the impression. Here it is different. The rooms are designed very smartly — our compliments to the planner and designer. If I ever started my own hotel, I would want to work with the people who planned this one. Let’s start with the mattress: after my own at home, it is rare that I can sleep well in a hotel — usually the beds are too hard. The pillows here are not exactly perfect for me, but compared to most hotels they are excellent. The bed linen is also soft. You can see that nothing is done in a stingy way. The basics are well thought out, the design makes sense, and there is real comfort in the essential things. It feels made with care for the guest, not only for profit. Now the bathroom. You cannot imagine how many hotels have poorly placed towel holders and almost no space for your own things. Here, there is enough of everything. The hair dryer is powerful, the mirror is heated (so it doesn’t fog up), and the towel rack is heated too, so towels dry during the day or overnight. The room itself is spacious, with sufficient wardrobe space. Another smart detail: a night light in the toilet and entrance area, with adjustable brightness. There is enough lighting everywhere, and also excellent blackout curtains so no light will wake you up. Breakfast is not huge, but more than enough for me. Very tasty cheese and ham, eggs made to order in any style — and all with a view of the Guggenheim Museum. The location is also very convenient: most interesting places are close by. The old town is a bit farther, but since we didn’t plan to go there every day, it was not a problem. We are still staying here, so I might adjust my comment later if I notice more smart details. Bravo!
Maria ( — Google review
Staff are great they made my son incredibly welcome and we’re happy to share tips to enjoy the city. The hotel itself is really nice. The double rooms were what we needed for a couple with a young child. The rooftop breakfast is great as the choice is quite wide and the atmosphere is something you can’t replicate so in my opinion was worth the €35 per head charge. Would stay again, its proximity to the Guggenheim makes it a very easy way to spend some time around the area.

PRO'S: The Artist Grand Hotel gets my highest reviews for great service, breakfast, hotel design and location across from The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. One example of outstanding service. The day before leaving for the airport at 5AM, the front desk arranged for a taxi and suggested they could make a picnic breakfast to go since we would be too early for hotel breakfast. Delicious food! CON'S: Absolutely NONE! SUMMARY: The Artist Grand Hotel is our highest recommendation for staying in Bilbao.

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at on our trip. Location was perfect, rooms were spacious and well equipped with amenities, breakfast was great but the highlight was the service from each member of staff. Diego in particular took very good care of us and recommended us not only good restaurants in Bilbao but heard that we were going to Athens and helped us with recommendations there too!

Good location but essentially a dull conference hotel with a nice breakfast terrace overlooking the Guggenheim. Positives are basically centred around location. Few notable negatives: 1) only hotel on our honeymoon that didn’t make / try to make our experience special - they didn’t respond to our initial emails about booking a surprise massage and were incredibly short (borderline rude) at check in and proceeded giving us a room with 2 single beds; 2) the room was basic : cheap furnishings, thin / used mattress; synthetic duvet & pillows; old carpet - basically a throwback to a noughties conference hotel. IMO - vastly overrated and you can find a much nicer spot in Bilbao for considerably less…and sure - you won’t have the view of the Guggenheim - but you’ll be a lot happier!

My partner and I stayed here recently. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The location is right outside of the Guggenheim too, which makes for a convenient visit and also an easy landmark to get yourself oriented. Just look for the giant puppy. If we visit Bilbao another time, I would stay here again.

Nestled in the vibrant Gran Via district, Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Via Bilbao is a luxurious urban retreat housed in a historic 1940s building. The hotel boasts chic and stylish rooms adorned with Bilbao-themed artworks and nautical blue accents. Guests can savor innovative Basque-Japanese fusion cuisine at the Michelin-starred NKO Restaurant & Bar while enjoying panoramic views of Bilbao.
We stayed with family for three days at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Vía Bilbao and had a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, the check-in process was quick and smooth. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and comfortable. The staff and service were truly helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. I would especially like to mention Pablo from the concierge team for helping us perfectly organize our tour in Bilbao. Also, a big thank you to Victoria from the SPA, who was incredibly kind and welcoming to our family. Highly recommended!

Honestly horrible experience. Yes decor is nice and location great. However, we arrived during the heat wave expecting a 5 star hotel. Yet air conditioning was not working. We were moved to two different rooms both not working and then at the end staff essentially said ' that was all they could do' and 'try closing curtain'. The rooms stayed hot and humid with temperatures around 24-25 degrees. On top of this we requested to speak to the manager who declined to contact us. Would not recommend at all. Service befitting a 3 star hotel.

Not sure it's a 5 star hotel to be honest. I wonder are the poor staff not paid enough as a lot of them seemed unhappy and uninterested. Our room and bathroom was nice, liked the decor. DO NOT have drinks on their roof terrace, €25 for 2 normal Spanish beers plus other drinks our friends had were sooo over priced. Breakfast not amazing in any way. Made 3 attempts to ask for a hard pillow and each time i was given a soft one...it just got funny in the end. There was no complimentary water in our room either which is a basic standard in any 5 star hotel! There are so many other less expensive and nicer alternatives in the same area. I would choose differently the next time we visit the city., Sorry guys.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The property itself feels a bit dated and could definitely use some updates, especially in the facilities. The gym, for example, was quite disappointing — very limited equipment and not really in good condition. The shower in my room leaked water onto the bathroom floor every time it was used, and the toilet made quite a bit of noise, which was noticeable at night. That being said, there were still some positives. The room was clean, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping everything tidy and fresh during my stay. The general cleanliness throughout the hotel was actually quite good, which made the stay more comfortable despite the issues. Overall, I’d say it was an average experience — not bad, but not great either. With a few improvements to the maintenance and facilities, this hotel could easily be much better.

Decent enough experience. I quite liked the spa, which was nicely set out with a good sauna. The rooftop bar and restaurant is a nice touch; we set out for our nighttime activities from here which worked well. Quite slow check in but overall good experience.

A clean, elegant hotel in an ideal location in Bilbao in close proximity to everything but it’s a 5 star hotel without the 5 star service. We took 2 stars off from the rating for the bed and the air conditioning because for us they’re two crucial factors for any stay. The bed was very hard. Had we only been staying a couple of nights it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue but we were staying 7 nights so 3 nights in, we asked at reception if a mattress topper could be put on top of the mattress because both our backs were sore. The two receptionists we spoke to said they didn’t have any toppers but they would arrange for blankets to be put down on top of the mattress to make it softer but two days later, nothing had been done. We had already complained about the air conditioning three times and at that stage we only had to suffer another 2 nights so we felt uncomfortable having to raise the issue with the bed again. The air conditioning is simply unsatisfactory. We set the thermostat to 19 celsius to cool the room down quickly and we set the fan to high but the room never cooled down to a comfortable temperature. We tried leaving our second key card in the controls to allow the room to cool down and to charge our electronic devices whilst we were out of the room but each time the maids cleaned our room they took the second key card with them and the room had heated back up again. It was extremely slow to cool down in the first place, even when left on overnight - a degree or two at most. We queried why the maids kept taking the card with them. The receptionists indicated that the maids probably just forgot to put the card back after taking their own card out and they would “leave a note for them” but the next day the same thing happened. Clearly this is a cost-saving exercise to prevent electricity being used when guests are out of the room, which is ridiculous. 5 star is not budget and we paid a lot of money for our stay. For the last two days of our stay, coinciding with a 40-degree temperature warning in Bilbao, the air conditioning broke down entirely. The heat in the bedroom was unbearable and we barely slept a wink. We rang down to reception twice and they indicated their engineer was working on it and that the entire hotel was affected, not just us, as if this was sufficient justification. The room itself was well-apportioned and everything seemed very new and well-maintained. I booked in for the 2-hour treatment in the spa and the service from Sara was excellent - she was extremely attentive and the gratuity was richly deserved. The spa facilities were fairly basic - a small dipping pool with a decorative waterfall, a sauna and a handful of loungers - an hour’s use of the spa was included with my treatment and had it not been, frankly I wouldn’t have bothered, particularly since use of the spa facilities is chargeable. There are just a few other minor points that irked us but I thought we should mention them as part of our review for feedback purposes: (1) soap/shower gel dispensers not refilled (2) robes but no slippers in the room for guests intending to use the spa (3) charged €5 for a packet of crisps, which, unlike the cookies, we discovered on checkout were not complimentary. The minibar menu lists “Pringles” at €5 not a 30g packet of crisps, which is fairly extortionate (4) we could clearly hear chairs being dragged around the floor in the room immediately above ours, which woke us in the early morning (5) I was the victim of attempted robbery in the San Francisco area of Bilbao. Two youths attempted to steal the necklace from around my neck and left me with painful bruises. I asked the hotel staff if it was something that should be reported to the police and I was told that the hotel would never recommend going near that area (as if it was somehow my fault) and the police would probably just say that it is a dangerous area and my necklace wasn’t actually stolen. We left feeling tired. The Radisson Collection Bilbao did not live up to our expectations.
Alan M — Google review
Surprised to see the negative reviews here as this was not our experience at all. Very comfortable rooms with a good breakfast buffet and excellent central location. The air conditioning worked very well, despite the heat wave that was tormenting much of Spain (including Bilbao). Nice bathroom and comfortable beds. Great place to rest a couple of nights during our Camino walk.
Jeremy K — Google review
Stay away! Outrages rooms for the so called 5 star hotel. No place to stop the car infront of the hotel. Upon entering, the rooms stink of garbage. Shower is leaking everywhere, The cups were dirty, dust blobs in every corner that looks like theyve been building up for months. Noise is unbearable into the late hours. Location, although central, busy and unappealing. Toilet not flushing, tv not working properly, and saving the best for last- they do not provide water bottles. Which self respecting "5" stars hotel doesnt give guests drinking water in the room? Small flies on the beds, everything outdated, broken and simply dirty. They do not refill the toiletry kits, either. Do not stay here.

Hotel Ercilla de Bilbao, Autograph Collection, is a modern hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and stylish rooms and suites. Originally built in 1972, it has undergone a thoughtful revamp by the London and Barcelona-based studio Red Deer. The hotel now boasts repurposed original furnishings and vintage-inspired colors and prints. The rooftop is the center of activity, offering stunning city views and serving signature cocktails.
Great hotel, excellent staff providing a super service, rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. Not a fan of the Krups coffee machine in the room (but still better than none). Small mini bad on the room which is a plus, but storing something there triggers the system to think you took something and charges your room - which needs to be explained during check out. Location is also great

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Ercilla de Bilbao, Autograph Collection, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, the front desk set the tone with one of the warmest and most seamless check-in experiences I’ve had (September 2nd). Their professionalism and kindness immediately made me feel at home. The hotel itself is stunning—modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. The rooftop is absolutely beautiful, offering views of Bilbao that are the perfect way to start or end an evening. My room was incredibly spacious, quiet, and comfortable—an ideal retreat after exploring the city. The highlight, however, might just have been breakfast on September 3rd. The spread was abundant and delicious, and I was fortunate to be served by the friendliest gentleman who made the experience feel extra special with his warmth and attentiveness. Altogether, this hotel is a gem in Bilbao—exceptional service, gorgeous spaces, and genuine hospitality. I can’t wait to return.

Perfect 5-night stay at Ercilla. As a titanium Marriott member, I was upgraded to a larger room and enjoyed free breakfast (great selection and service!) daily. The hotel concierge was very helpful with restaurant and car rental recommendations in person and via chat on Marriott app. Convenient location that's walkable to Guggenheim, local restaurants, Gran Via shopping and easy to catch a short bus ride across the river to Old Town if you're not up for a longer stroll.

I had to wait 45 minutes standing in line to check- in. I was told my Bonvoy status would not be honored and the hotel was fully booked. I requested a room with a desk since I had to make a very important work zoom presentation and had to work during the day. I was put in the smallest room I've ever seen with no work space. I came down to the front desk and Jorge told me they are fully booked. I went online and saw there were several available rooms. I called Marriott and was told there are several rooms available. I went back to the front desk around 9:00pm and once again explained I had very important presentations to make and needed a desk / workspace. Jorge boldly lied to my face and told me they were fully booked. I asked for a manager he told me it was impossible and there were no managers. I then explained how online there are open rooms. I called Marriott and they told me there are open rooms. I then asked if I could cancel my reservation and move hotels to somewhere with a desk. A bellboy then spoke to Jorge. Jorge then told me there are open rooms but they are saving those for potential new clients. Jorge then agreed to let me move to a room with a desk and work space. I stayed at this hotel in the past and had a very nice experience. This time it was not the case. I do not like being lied to and treated disrespectfully. This is not a luxury hotel and the staff do not care about the guests. There are so many nice hotels in Bilbao. I advise going to a hotel that will provide you the value and service you deserve.

Great location. Great staff. Enjoyed the room. Seemed like it was a 10 minute walk to everything I wanted to see - perfect for me. There is hotel parking; you'll want to reserve it in advance. There's nearby public parking that is less expensive, but it was more of a hassle. The rooftop view was great!

Absolutely loves staying here! The staff are very nice and professional, impeccably clean and great attention to details. The location is ultimate! We did not want to stay on the other side of the river, as it would limit us in a way. We found this to be a great location, as it was directly next to the metro, all shops, cafes and bars. Really enjoyed staying here, I will be back and I highly recommend it!

Our recent stay at Hotel Ercilla in Bilbao was absolutely fantastic! The location is unbeatable, right in the city center, perfect for walking to the Guggenheim and Casco Viejo. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, ensuring great rest. What truly stood out was the exceptional staff – friendly, professional, and always eager to help. The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied, and we enjoyed the hotel bar. The rooftop bar and gym were a nice bonus. Hotel Ercilla offers a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend it and would gladly stay again!

Hotel Carlton is a sophisticated property located in Bilbao, just 400 meters from the Guggenheim Museum. This luxurious grand dame hotel dates back to 1926 and offers a touch of old-fashioned class with its gorgeous lobby featuring stained glass and a sweeping grand staircase. The hotel has been visited by famous personalities like Ernest Hemingway, Ava Gardner, and Paris Hilton. It features a Basque restaurant, an exercise room, and a city-view terrace.
We had an amazing holiday overnight stay at the Carlton Hotel. Our room had a premium view of the circular/park. No noise issues whatsoever. Lovely evening concluded on the terrace with drinks. Breakfast delicious. Very helpful staff and reception. A truly beautiful hotel. Crossan Family Dublin, Ire July 25

It’s just getting two stars for me I’m afraid as i was not happy with my stay here. I visited this weekend expecting more. The hotel had air conditioning and apparently whatever type of old air conditioning they have they can only set it to either Hot or Cold air settings. It’s February and it was 18-20 degrees outside. This is warm for me, and my room was far too warm also as the cold air settings were not available in February I was told. I did not sleep at all for the two nights i stayed here. People’s perception of cold or hot is totally different , having one AC system that can only operate on Hot or Cold basis is not a good idea for any hotel, I expected much better. The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring Bilbao.
Lismore M — Google review
The worst hotel choice I have ever made. The rooms are extremely outdated — it feels like they haven’t been renovated since the opening in 1926. Furniture is worn out, and the so-called “soundproofing” is so poor that I could hear every single move from the room next door. The staff is unprofessional and rude. When we complained about the condition of the room, they simply said they didn’t see anything wrong. Housekeeping was also below basic standards. We were traveling with kids, so safety was my top priority. Imagine my shock when I discovered a broken electrical socket in the room — a clear safety hazard. Even worse, the staff dismissed it, claiming they saw nothing dangerous about it. For a hotel that claims to be five stars, this is absolutely unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere.

Hotel Carlton in Bilbao impressed me with its spacious and elegant rooms, even if the style feels slightly dated. The restaurant is excellent and serves high-quality dishes, while the breakfast buffet has a wide selection with everything you need. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better – most attractions and city highlights are within easy walking distance. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and a place I would definitely choose again.

This is a lovely hotel and very reasonably priced, the staff are very helpful and friendly, the location is second to none. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would highly recommend.

Not a 5-star experience at all. Bell staff stood in the lobby and didn’t even acknowledge us, let alone offer luggage help — they weren’t busy, just disengaged. One front desk staff member was outright rude. They charged for parking but had no valet that day, so we spent 30 frustrating minutes squeezing the car into a tiny spot ourselves. Décor is dated, there was mold in the shower, and we had to request an iron. Pillows were uncomfortable, there’s no smart TV or in-room snacks, and the lobby was chaotic due to a summit during our stay. Definitely not the level of service or comfort you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.
Aidin B — Google review
Excellent hotel in Bilbao, unsurprisingly as it's a 5 star. Breakfast is fantastic.
Oliver C — Google review
We stayed two nights and were disappointed. It’s kind of surprising fora five star hotel in the city centre to have such a bad soundproofing. Noise from other rooms was as if things were happening in ours. One night we spent sleepless listening to football fans shouting outside till 5 am, we heard them loud and clear with windows closed. Another point is bad quality of products. There’s a big variety of food for breakfast but for example vegetables were tasteless (it’s hard to find good tomatoes in Spain it seems) and some even rotting. There was also stuff like a very bad hair dryer and some furniture that should be replaced or no place on a parking lot. But two first points are more than enough to feel bad about our choice. In our experience this hotel only looks good and is well located.

This was a great hotel. The location is fantastic, with lots of good transit connections (tram, buses, metro). Right next to the football stadium too and walking distance to the Guggenheim, or a short tram ride away. The view from the restaurant, of the river, was fantastic. Really generous and nice breakfast. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was quite big. Overall, I recommend it.

Every member of the team was consistently courteous, warm, and genuinely eager to assist with any request—no matter how big or small. Their attention to detail, proactive approach, and sincere dedication to guest comfort made a lasting impression and elevated our entire experience. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with a tasteful and welcoming ambiance throughout. Our room was spotless, well-appointed, and thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials. This was an unplanned visit due to our vehicle breaking down. What a lovely hotel, extremely friendly staff who go above and beyond to help. The rooms are spotless, as is the whole hotel. Highly recommended and you won’t be disappointed if you book.

SKIP THIS HOTEL. Better off elsewhere. Price is wildly misaligned with quality of room & caliber of staff. This chic hotel boasts 65 well-appointed rooms, each designed with a minimalist aesthetic to ensure a relaxing stay. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and indulge in traditional Basque cuisine at the on-site restaurant or unwind at the bar after a day of exploring. The hotel's prime location makes it an ideal base for travelers eager to discover the vibrant city.
Booked the Hotel on short notice for a business trip and was very pleased and happy. 1) Check in was late at 23:45 and the front desk clerk made things easy and quick. Really good 2) Did not eat or do anything else despite beeing in the room or at business partners facilites. Hence no comment on that. 3) If you come by rental car I suggest to deny an upgrade to a bigger car. The Garage is quite narrow at the hotel and a challenge to bigger cars. I had an Peugeot 2008 and it was ok... 4) Check out was easy as well. Front Desk could print me the Invoice in what ever combination I needed it out of personal adress, work adress, room rate, parking fee..... very efficient. 5) Little Recommendation to the Hotel: Table or at least Chair for the Balcony would be nice :-). Its really huge but empty. You can basically walk everywhere from there or take the tube.... really a good position with perfectly new interior. Can not say anything bad about this place Thanks

The Hotel Zenit Bilbao was a great choice for us, within walking distance from the Intermodal bus station. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped and very clean. The best aspect for us was the service we received. I'd lost my luggage enroute to Spain for 10+ days. Noemi at the hotel reception desk helped me when calling Iberia to provide additional information to the call centre. She also provided us with detailed suggestions for where to go and what to see in the two days we spent in Bilbao. The frinedliness and professsionalism were truly appreciated. I'd recommend this hotel and would come back because of this high quality service.

Affordable hotel option 15 minute walk from the center and close to the transportation. The staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, yet small. We didn’t have the best sleep because our room’s window was facing a covered courtyard so there was extremely limited sunlight. Through that window, we could see the lights of the neighborhoods turn off and on all night. The walls are also quite thin so we heard when people passed in the halls.

Location was great. Clean and comfortable. Just wish they had a gym and spa... Revision: Thank you for your response MG Customer Assistant. While you have agreement with the gym, it is outside of the hotel, and requires to get fully dressed if you want to use it - this is an inconvenience, especially in the winter. Also when I visited I was told it is closed on the weekend.

Meliá Bilbao is a luxurious hotel with avant-garde architecture, drawing inspiration from Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida. Situated near the Guggenheim Museum and the Nervion River, it offers an authentic experience of the region. The Aizian Restaurant serves classic Basque cuisine while the Quatre Restaurant offers Mediterranean-inspired pintxos and tapas. The sixth-floor wellness area features saunas and a partially covered heated pool with mountain views.
Nice hotel, great location, close to Guggenheim, and maritime museum. Underground carpark with reasonable rates. WiFi very good. Bar staff a little bit slow and only one elevator working to serve all floors, so it can be slow getting to the room. Reception staff excellent and organised a taxi at short notice. This is not the hotels fault, but just be aware that Uber in Bilbao is not so good. My trip was booked and confirmed and then declined by the drivers on two occasions. Hotel came to the rescue.

First of all, the service provided by Elena Vegas - Guest Experience Manager - is perfect. Before arriving we had contact about our planning and she had good ideas and made reservations. Also during our stay she welcomed us in a wonderful way. About the hotel; checking in gave some troubles, but at the end they arranged it. Our rooms (at The Level) were very nice, but unfortunately there was a terrible drain smell in my bathroom, which happened to be the broken sewage. They repaired this immediately. The bath tub didn’t work well (filling up with water); they tried to fix it, but I haven’t be able in taking a bath. Cleaning of the room good, but no service at night, which may be expected in a 5-star hotel. Breakfast is fine, not too much but high quality and we liked the lounge room The Level; where we took some bites during the day/evening. Pity that in the 4 days in the hotel every day exact same bites and barely any variations. Overall the service, friendliness and courtesy definitely 5 stars and on top the service provided by Elena. The rooms and the maintenance 3-4 stars. Breakfast 4-5 stars. The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the Guggenheim, many good restaurants and the river. You will have a really good stay in this hotel. Thank you @elena, you are the star of the hotel🫶

Spacious rooms that are clean and comfortable with bathrobes and slippers. A separate bathtub and shower. Actual facecloths and double sinks! Overlooks a park and river. Shopping centre across the street and 15 min lovely walk along the river to Guggenheim museum. Heated outdoor pool that is small and covered, a sauna and work out room. Great breakfast buffet. Hotel was newly renovated last year- modern lobby but I don’t understand why they used carpet instead of flooring in the bedrooms. Floors are easier to keep clean. Front desk staff could Be friendlier - older gentleman- my husband asked for smaller change for tips and was told there was none where I had asked a few minutes before and got it as he was counting a wad of Cash. Guess he didn’t want to go the extra service as his cash was counted?

If it were possible to award six stars, we would do so! The hotel spared no effort to accommodate our room requests (we wanted adjoining rooms for ourselves and our kids in a specific category). Overall, the service was top-notch and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast is very good, with excellent fresh fruit, delicious bakery items, and the option to order a la carte or use the buffet. The evening menu in the restaurant is not very extensive, but all the starters and main courses are truly excellent (the desserts we didn't like that much). The rooms are beautiful and modernly furnished and very clean. The underground car park is a bit cramped (take a small car), but thanks to the central location, you can easily get around on foot or by tram. We would like to thank everyone at the hotel for a wonderful stay and we will be happy to come back!

She demonstrated outstanding professionalism, foresight, and discretion, ensuring that every aspect of the family’s stay ran smoothly. Elena proved to be a trusted partner, particularly when navigating a delicate security matter. Her ability to manage the situation calmly, thoroughly, and with complete confidentiality gave us enormous confidence and peace of mind. She was equally attentive to the family’s day-to-day needs, showing warmth and flexibility—especially with the children—while never losing sight of the bigger picture. This balance of empathy and efficiency is rare, and it made all the difference. Elena’s support elevated the entire stay, and I would wholeheartedly recommend both her and the property to anyone seeking not just a hotel, but a truly first-class level of care and service.

We stayed at this hotel during a nearby conference. At first glance, it’s a nice-looking hotel with a pleasant ambiance. Unfortunately, someone — most likely housekeeping — took a two-day-old bottle of perfume from the bathroom. No real effort was made to investigate or find a solution. While I understand that it’s difficult for the hotel to determine whether the perfume was actually taken from the room, a more serious and professional response would have been appreciated. Instead, I was told that "valuable belongings should be kept in the safe." But honestly, who puts a bottle of perfume in the safe out of fear it might get stolen? It's disappointing that a hotel claiming to be five stars (which I seriously doubt) handles customer concerns in this way. A review like this could have been easily prevented — but they left me no choice. On another note: when emptying the bathtub, water comes up through the shower drain, releasing a very unpleasant smell. That said, breakfast was good, and the dinner in the evening was very enjoyable. The junior suite was spacious, and the hotel overall was clean (so clean, in fact, that even perfume disappears).

Good location and rooms were high quality. The breakfast is good, but the service is a bit so-so. We were travelling with two parties, staying in different rooms. But we were initially not allowed to have breakfast together because the room types were different, which is a bit strange. But we managed to do it anyway. Other than that it has a good swimming pool at the 6th floor balcony. The gym is also good.

I recently stayed at the Melia hotel and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite its 5-star rating, the experience was far from luxurious. There was a clear lack of attention to detail throughout my stay. Unlike other hotel chains, there was no complimentary water provided in the room. Guests were resorting to taking water from the gym’s cooler, leaving none for actual gym users. To make matters worse, guest towels weren’t even available in the gym. The breakfast was another letdown. €28 per person for a very poor selection. The coffee from the machine was utterly disgusting and not what you'd expect from a hotel of this supposed calibre.Overall, Melia failed to deliver on even the basics. I would not recommend staying here if you're expecting a true 5-star experience.

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao's Old Town, Hotel Tayko Bilbao is a stunning blend of history and modernity. This chic boutique hotel, housed in a beautifully transformed 1924 building, offers guests an industrial yet stylish atmosphere with exposed concrete and brick walls. With 53 air-conditioned rooms that boast breathtaking views of the estuary and nearby landmarks like Plaza Nueva and Mercado de la Ribera Market, it’s perfect for both romantic getaways and solo adventures.
Hotel Tayko Bilbao is a wonderful modern hotel in the heart of the old city centre of Bilbao. The location serves as a great starting point to restaurants and all important places to see in the centre, as well as being relatively close to the highway. They don't have parking on site but they do have their own paid parking garage a couple of meters away across the bridge which was very useful. Our complements to the hotel staff which was one of the most professional we've ever seen - they all spoke perfect english, were polite, always said hello and always ready to help (they even accommodated us with an early check-in). The rooms were modern and well equipped. For breakfast you have the option to order one main course, one juice, one coffee, one fruit and one dessert. The quality was great and the presentation was amazing as well although the portions were on the smaller side. A plus is that they have vegan options (a quite big wrap).

Wow! The interior of this hotel is amazing. Stained glass and original factory walls. It also has a michelin starred restaurant ( above our budget!) but we enjoyed superb breakfasts. Staff were very kind and friendly. It's a few steps from some excellent pinxtos bars in the Old Town. Bilbao itself is a wonderful city. Loved our time here.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tayko. The staff at the reception gave us a warm and friendly welcome. Our room was spotless, well-isolated, and very comfortable, with a fantastic large bed. The hotel’s central location made it easy to explore the city on foot. Highly recommended!

Very helpful staff. Really cool building, comfortable room with l’occitane products in bathroom. Nice touches with hand written note from housekeeping with chocolates and welcome cava at check in and free drink and pinchos in the bar. Don’t miss breakfast - high quality local ingredients. Delicious. Will come back and try the restaurant next time. Great location for tapas bars in the square and parking (need to pre book and pay) close by.

Tayko Hotel Bilbao is the perfect mix of style and comfort. The rooms have a cool, modern design with great details and a cozy feel. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and make you feel right at home. A great place to stay in the heart of the city.

If you are visiting Bibao, Spain and looking for an excellent hotel, look no more. We were simply charmed by this awe-inspiring hotel. It was quite fascinating to see how priceless old world remnants were entwined with comfortable modern spaces. When you first enter the grand archway and pass through the heavy wooden doors, you step into an enduring, yet flawless world. Exposed limestone walls, aged concrete beams and weathered stained glass windows can all be viewed from the glass elevators as you are whisked away to your comfy, immaculate room. Notably, the hotel receptionist was amazing. She was very pleasant, kind and accommodating. She sympathetically told us that we had accidentally made reservations for the wrong dates through an online booking site. Moreover, she wasn’t sure if we would be reimbursed, but assured us that the issue would be resolved by the next day. As our anxiety started to rise, she nonchalantly, with a big smile, handed us a glass of champagne and worked on finding us an open room for the night. Her mañana philosophy was incredibly soothing. Not only did this lovely lady upgrade our room, but as promised our future booking was cancelled and refunded. Ultimately, the exceptional customer service, the spotless comfortable rooms enhanced our experience in Bilbao.

Great Location, Decent Stay with a Few Drawbacks The hotel is in a fantastic location, making it a convenient choice for exploring the area. However, parking can be a bit of a hassle since it’s not directly at the hotel. The rooms are quite basic in terms of decor, and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable. A word of advice—don’t open the windows at night unless you want to battle a swarm of mosquitoes! Breakfast is €25 per person, and while that’s not cheap, the food is actually pretty good. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff is friendly, which made for a pleasant start to the day. One of the highlights was the lounge on the upper level—it had a cool vibe and was a great place to relax. What truly makes this hotel stand out is the staff. They were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Their warmth and hospitality added a special touch to the experience. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for its location and service, even if the rooms are quite basic.

Located just a short drive from the Bilbao Cathedral, Lidar Hotel offers family-friendly accommodations with amenities like a sauna and barber shop. The hotel is conveniently situated near the Abando train station and Indautxu tube station. Guests appreciate the practical and functional rooms equipped with useful appliances like fridges, washing machines, stoves, microwaves, and sinks. Additionally, there are several mini supermarkets within walking distance along with numerous cafes for breakfast or tapas.
Clean, practical and functional. I was only there for a weekend so actually did not spend much time in the hotel itself but found it to be very convenient and very helpful staff. The rooms have a fridge, washing machine and even sink and little stove and microwave and even though I didn't need to use them, I would have found them very useful for a longer stay. There are at least three mini supermarkets within 5 minutes walk and loads of cafes to have breakfast in the morning or tapas. I found Bilbao to be a phenomenally beautiful city well preserved and everything very well taken care of... Just wish I'd been able to spend perhaps More time discovering the outskirts and the outdoors. It's near the train station and within 15 minutes walk to the bus to take you to the airport which takes 15 minutes every 20 minutes.

Location is good, plenty of eateries. Staffs were friendly. Room was below average. Never have I ever stayed in a hotel with nether a wardrobe, nor anywhere to hang my clothes. No hook to hold my jacket too. Shower room mirror light not working. Otherwise, bed was OK. Room installed with aircon unit to make my stay pleasant.
Vincent A — Google review
The hotel is pretty decent in general. Very polite and helpful staff, great location, nice and spacious bathroom. Drawbacks: it would be good to have more hangers for towels in the bathroom and separate hangers in the corridor for jackets etc. Also not enough sockets in the room.

Basic simple room with good bed and shower, good cleaning and receiption service. Surrounding area is a bit dirty, but so is whole Bilbao. It is in comfortable walking distance from old town.

Very strange hotel. It was loud, I could hear people running up and down the halls all night. The towels were musty. However the rooms were very large. Good for a place to rest, but wouldn’t recommend over another place.

This place is terrible! Staff are not helpful, rooms seem unfinished, 3 utensils in whole kitchenette (1 folk, 2 dirty glasses), no hooks in bathroom, no coat hangers. Location is strange and really noisy all hours of the night! Windows are thin and let air and noise in. Got no sleep at all! Worse of all is the lack of exit signs in their strange maze of corridors, if there’s ever a fire in there God help them! Wouldn’t recommend to my worse enemy!!!!

It’s a good, cheap hotel to stay in if you’re visiting Bilbao for a few days. It has all the essential amenities and the rooms seem to have been renovated recently. There was a mouldy smell in the room once we got in but it soon disappeared after opening the windows. The rooms aren’t sound proof so you can hear what’s happening in the rooms next door. The receptionists have always been lovely and the common spaces are clean and tidy.
George L — Google review
We stayed here two nights with minimal issues. The room was fairly comfortable; although the air conditioning/heating unit is not very efficient. For the price, you get what you pay for. The neighborhood isn’t amazing, but it’s within walking distance from the city center. I also want to comment that the hotel receptionist was a very nice young lady.

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao, the NYX Hotel Bilbao by Leonardo Hotels is a vibrant and stylish destination that perfectly captures the city's artistic spirit. Just a stone's throw from iconic landmarks like the Guggenheim Museum and Arriaga Theater, this hotel boasts chic rooms adorned with local street art and modern amenities. Guests can unwind at the funky restaurant/bar or take in breathtaking views from the rooftop terrace while enjoying a drink.
My family and I enjoyed staying in this classy hotel. The location was ideal, walking distance to many restaurants, cafes, and activities. The bed and linens were very comfortable, and I had some of my best sleep during my 17-day trip around Spain. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, nicely decorated, and showed attention to detail. I 100% recommend this place for a visit to Bilbao, and I hope to come back soon!

Do not go with this hotel. Staff reasonably friendly but hotel management likely very bad. Here’s why: We booked the room a month ago but were given a room for persons with special needs (on a wheelchair) which obviously didn’t apply to us. We were not told about what kind of room it was and said it’s a “standard room”. The bathroom had no shower/bathtub frames just curtains, shower head not placed in a pleasant height level, mirror also positioned for those in a wheelchair. Not ideal for us. The entire walls had stains and marks which overall didn’t justify the 420€ for 3 nights. We expected a city view but that also wasn’t true. Nothing like what was shown in the photos on the website. Also seeing similar complaints about this in the reviews. Their terrace was also closed. Why offer a room for handicap people to those who are not? I blame the hotel management not the staff working there. Don’t waste your time here. We found a new hotel the next day that was 10x better even without a refund. Too unbearable to stay. Service was good. They called me when I forgot some stuff at the hotel. But overall you / we deserve better. Hotel management needs to change.

Good experience. Window sound proofing was very good. Slept very well.. Could have had more storage in the room - not v big . Shower toilet area was big and shower was great. Fantastic location and great staff.
Jane H — Google review
The location is perfect and the staff is very polite, but: • Breakfast items seem to be refrozen and are not of the best quality. There are no appropriate cups for different types of coffee, so you end up drinking espresso from a large mug. • There is no desk in the room, which makes it uncomfortable if you need to work. • Water is not refilled • The room lacks standard accessories such as slippers and a bathrobe. Definitely not worth for such a price and the standard it declares.
Jakub S — Google review
The hotel is perfectly located, wonderfully decorated both in rooms and throughout. My only downsides are the toilet paper in the bathroom was very poor quality/cheap. It was like sandpaper which is shame. It would improve guest experience by a lot but would only cost a relatively small amount. The pillows were poor too - either flat or lumpy. A choice of pillows /offer of a more firm pillow would have also helped. The hotel provided 1 small bottle of mineral water complimentarily. It's a shame this wasn't replenished each day. Similarly, more tea and coffee in the room (only 2 of each, not enough milk etc).
H D — Google review
I leave my review with deep disappointment and one absolute certainty: I will never return. We arrived in Bilbao to enjoy our vacation and, at first, the staff seemed polite. Unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of the entire stay. We booked a room for two people and, the moment we walked in, we were hit by an unbearable stench of mold and sweat — so strong we could barely stand to be inside. We immediately requested a room change and were told the hotel was “fully booked.” A blatant lie, as we checked their website and found rooms still available (of course, as long as you were willing to pay again — because apparently, everything is possible if you pay extra). The room, aside from the nauseating smell, didn’t even have a window, forcing us to remain in that suffocating environment. We spent as much time as possible outside just to avoid it. And really, what’s the point of booking a hotel if you can’t even rest there? Breakfast was mediocre: nothing fresh, clearly frozen and reheated shortly before serving. The water they served had a disgusting tap taste, completely undrinkable. If you’re looking for a place to relax and truly enjoy your vacation, do yourself a favor: stay far away from this hotel.
Richard R — Google review
Location is perfect, five minutes walk from the train station and just near by old town. However, Bathroom is transparent so be aware if traveling with friends. Bed sheet does not smell clean… rooftop bar is closed even in summer.
Amy B — Google review
It was really not a pleasant experience. We paid for the room a month before arrival and it was supposed to be a room with a city view. We got a room for people with disabilities, no view anywhere and dirty walls. The hotel staff did not respond to our request to change the room, they said it’s over booking, the hotel manager ignored us, we left the hotel after the first night, although three were paid. We got a pig in a poke instead of a photo on the website. Never NYX hotels anymore.

This contemporary hotel features air-conditioned rooms adorned with colorful murals, each uniquely designed to provide guests with stunning views of the river and cityscape. One of its standout offerings is an impressive buffet breakfast that transforms your morning into a culinary adventure, showcasing local delicacies alongside tempting desserts.
Loved the room. So comfortable and quiet. Breakfast and dinner were great at the restaurant. We rented e bikes and went everywhere. It was so nice coming back to the hotel in between outings. They surprised me with cake on the morning of my birthday. So special! The staff was so lovely and welcoming and gave great tips on restaurants to go to.

Hotel Gran is a wonderful place to stay. Located near park land is a good variant from all the multi storey buildings. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The staff caring and know their stuff. The restaurant food focuses on substance over form, providing really fresh meals. The piece de resistance is the gym. What a delight, good equipment in an airy environment. Perfect if you would like a gentle workout or something full on

It was a pleasure staying in this hotel. The room was spacious and bright. The staff was absolutely mindful. When we called to say the Internet connection is weak, we had a repeater in our room at the next day. Breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients prepared in front of us (fried eggs, tortillas, pancakes). Also a special mention to the gym: it is spacious, modern and the machines are new. The Mercado is 10 minutes walk from there which is perfectly fine.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Gran Bilbao! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, which set the tone for a wonderful experience. Our room was fantastic, very clean, super spacious, and with a large bathroom equipped with everything we needed (hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and plenty of towels). The room also had a minibar, a TV, air conditioning, and even a coffee machine with teas, which made our stay extra comfortable. On top of that, the view was absolutely stunning. The hotel itself is huge and has great facilities, including a gym and underground parking (€18 per day). While you can sometimes find street parking nearby, I’d definitely recommend using the hotel’s parking for convenience. One of the highlights was a lovely surprise organized by my partner with the help of the hotel, the romantic pack. It was such a sweet and thoughtful touch that made our stay even more special. We stayed for two nights, and our room was cleaned after the first night, which was perfect. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Hotel Gran Bilbao, for making our trip so memorable, we can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2025. Terrific stay! Mihaela at the front desk speaks five languages and was super helpful with managing our luggage and out bike storage for the Camino. The food at the restaurant was excellent as was the staff. The gym has everything you can imagine and huge! Our room was quiet and comfortable. The no 77 bus is outside the door w great frequency and inexpensive to and from the downtown area. Overall.....a terrific stay. In fact we return here next week before we leave Bilbao. By the way.... Bilbao id a great and beautiful city!

Great hotel for a stay in Bilbao - just a little outside the main centre which if you don’t mind a 2 km walk in is no problem at all and for us driving here was easy as we just came off the motorway and into the parking of the hotel without having to drive all through the city centre. Also important for us was that it is super dog friendly as we had our Jack Russell with us. Staff are very friendly and although our towels hadn’t been changed, they sorted it out very quickly. The reception staff, very efficient and professional - Mihaela went over and above in helping us sort out our EV charging. many thanks, spirit hotel hope to see you again 🤗

Stayed 5 days 4 nights. First impression of the room was abit depressing. But it's clean spacious. Water distributor just outside the room was a win. The best hotel gym we ever come across..complete musculation machines and machines for everyone. Bus 77stop right infront. Convinient..eventhough we have car.we didn't feel the need to use it often to go to city center. However, they need to change the varieties of breakfast. Especially the hot food and types of fruits. Fruits cut watermelon, bananas and melon all 5 days was abit boring. Hot food was always the same..if they can rotate different options would be great. We would come back here next time in Bilbao

Excellent hotel with good rooms, attentive staff, and well located near the city center. The reception and bar are gorgeous, and they do good cocktails. Only downside is parking: only 50 slots for 300+ rooms... Plus you can't reserve a parking spot, it's first arrived first served, so better get there early. Otherwise you have nearby underground public parkings that are about the same price and are not far. Overall great experience.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Service was not existent, no help and none of the things you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The rooms are average at best, really basic and in need of renovating. Sinks clogged. Small and depressing. In the end we paid for a suite to get some more space. Sinks were still clogged and room in need of renovating but much more space. Reception and breakfast buffet is nice and well presented.
Oliver F — Google review
The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the main attractions. We used the parking, which was convenient but quite tight—definitely requires careful manoeuvring due to the size of the cars. The rooms are nicely decorated and a decent size, but the small window meant not much natural light came in. Unfortunately, the shower didn’t work properly—it couldn’t keep a steady temperature. We reported it to reception, but nothing was done, and the issue persisted throughout our stay. Housekeeping could also be improved: they didn’t clean our tea cups or replace the bottled water. On the positive side, breakfast was excellent—great variety and quality, though the coffee could be better (I’d rate breakfast 9/10). The bar, although open, told us they couldn’t serve most food items after 9:30pm, which was disappointing for a hotel of this level. Overall, it’s a nice hotel with a lot of potential, but there’s definitely room for improvement in both service and maintenance.

Location is perfect, everything is walkable. Train to the mountaintop, the Guggenheim, both old and new town. Service is also excellent. You really experience this a as a modern hotel. The beds were slightly wobbly, not weird as ours were on wheels. And in the shower there is not much circulation, so there are some spots which are obviously harder to clean. Still a very good experience.

RE: management’s response regarding different room configurations. Thank you for clarifying, I’m aware of different types of rooms, which is why we chose ‘superior king’ to make sure we have adequate space. However the room we got was neither superior, nor king. If fact, a room like that should not be a part of a 4 star hotel at all. I can’t even imagine what your ‘standard’ room looks like. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The lobby and location are nice, but that's about it. Customer service and rooms are atrocious. Front desk staff was very indifferent to guests' experience and showed zero inclination to help. I've gotten more hospitality from a toaster at airbnb than from them. Also, while checking in, I witnessed a gentleman, who only spoke french, trying to get help with parking at the hotel. The receptionist's reponse was (in english) "I understand what you are saying, but I cannot help you as the garage is operated by another company". No intent to even try to help to resolve an issue with parking that YOUR hotel provides. We booked a superior room with king bed and got ... a shoe box with barely a full bed. The room was so small, I had to shuffle sideways to get around. We were lucky that we only had small carryon suitcases as there was absolutely no room for anything bigger. There were no drawers to put your things away at all, so we had to have suitcases on the floor during the entire stay. At one point I needed to use the ironing board and I had to sit on the bed to iron as there was no room to stand. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang your towels, so the only option was the floor. The shower door didn't close properly, so there was water everywhere. On top of that, during the shower, water temperature changed from cold to hot randomly, which made it for a very unpleasant shower. I've heard other guests complain about this issue as well. Mini fridge in the room did a great job at keeping your water at room temperature. Really glad we only booked 2 nights and I was so happy to leave.

Beautiful hotel, clean and organized and very well situated. The lady at the reception when we arrived explained everything greatly and was very nice. The next day, we were warmly welcomed by Joaquin at the restaurant reception during breakfast, and his kindness and professionalism truly stood out. Consider other hotels if you are wanting English movies or want a dog friendly hotel. Terrible. Dogs not allowed even in the bar area on the ground floor. So can't eat at the hotel & have to resort to outdoor restaurants nearby. Overpriced for the product. Parking €27, dog €35 & room ordinary, dven the so called premium rooms. Lets just say, I won't be back. Go elsewhere, but then again the town generally poor indeed.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast is wonderful. You could have an omelet prepared with your desired fillings. The yogurt bar was spectacular and don't let me rave about the pastries. Oops, I just did. My only complaint is I was told someone would assist with taking my luggage down to the front desk and no one ever came nor did anyone offer to get my coffee when I went for breakfast. My dinner at their restaurant was delicious. Since I am from the states I had never heard of Iberian meat. It's pork loin with some fat in it. Pork loin can be a tad dry, but with the little bit of fat it was absolutely a joy to my palate.

We were in Bilbao for a few days celebrating a birthday, and this ended up being a perfect place. The concierge, Aitor, went above and beyond to help with some birthday arrangements, suggesting restaurants to eat at and places to visit near and far. Location is a little away from city center, but just a reasonable walk or bus ride away. It's also quite and convinient for day trips by car. As a Platinum member, I was upgraded and the room was spacious and comfortable. It was a bit on a darker side, so if you want more sunshine, do tell ahead of time. We didn't have any issues with it. Service personnel are friendly all around and the breakfast area has enough variety for you to start the day by overeating. Highly recommend it and will hopefully come back soon!

Generally the hotel, room, bed and staff were great. But, it's the little details that let them down. There was black mold on the WC ceiling and (I hate to think what) dripping down the WC door. I showed the photos to the front desk, but just got the standard apology.

Excellent Dinner Service! The dinner was fantastic, largely due to the excellent service from Vanessa Rodriguez. She was incredibly attentive and friendly, making my experience truly memorable. Highly recommend!

Hotel Hesperia Bilbao is a contemporary hotel located near the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, offering low-key quarters with some featuring balconies. The glass exterior of the building stands out, and the spacious rooms are modern and elegant, equipped with amenities such as free WIFI, flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Guests can enjoy buffet-style breakfast at the hotel's restaurant every morning.
Lovely hotel in a great position opposite the Guggenheim and centre with shops and restaurants. Also a 10 minute walk to the old town and market. Staff are very helpful and also have umbrellas to borrow. We paid extra for a river view and had a beautiful room on the top floor with a huge balcony looking over the museum.
Laura J — Google review
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel Hesperia. We picked because we had already stayed on the other side of the river on a previous trip. The location was perfect located an easy walking distance to both the Old Town and the Guggenheim museum. Checking in and out was easy and everyone we spoke to was friendly and attentive. We started our day with a great breakfast which is something I like to have while traveling.

Hotel Hesperia Bilbao is a good city hotel — not fancy, but comfortable and with a decent location that makes it easy to explore the city. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, which gave a great first impression. The only downside was that the person behind the bar could have been as friendly as the reception team. Overall, a pleasant stay and a solid choice for a city break.

I had a wonderful stay with my family in one of the suite rooms (Room 222). The hotel is excellent: clean, comfortable, and with top-notch service. The staff were incredibly proactive and attentive throughout our stay. A special mention to the General Manager, whose presence and energy clearly inspire the whole team. She personally recommended a few places for us to visit, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although I didn not get a chance to thank her in person during check-out, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding hospitality. It is evident that the team reflects the strong and positive leadership at the top. Thank you for a memorable stay!
Karan T — Google review
Location is good but the pictures of the hotel are extremely misleading - the hotel is very tired, with limited amenities. During my 5 day stay, we had 5am fire alarms due to an error, flooding, leaking water from ceilings etc. my room had nails sticking out of the wall. The decor also feels dirty and I would not recommend this hotel. The staff talk about the guests in Spanish, in front of them. As someone who understands the language, I heard two reception staff speaking about an older American guest in a disrespectful way, just because she asked for a shower cap. The breakfast is also ultra-processed and not good. There are many better hotels in Bilbao

The hotel is exceptionally pleasant. The accommodation is perfect, with clean and freshly cleaned rooms every day. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel like you’re being accompanied by your own friends. Domingo and his colleagues are true professionals and very kind people. I would be happy to stay here if I am in Bilbao once again

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, Sercotel Coliseo is a chic hotel that perfectly blends modern elegance with convenience. Just a stone's throw from major transport links, it’s an ideal base for travelers eager to explore the city. Guests can unwind at the stylish bar or enjoy a workout in the well-equipped gym. The rooftop terrace offers stunning views, while free Wi-Fi keeps you connected throughout your stay.
The hotel is situated perfectly in the center of Bilbao, so you can explore the area easily by foot (at least, we did so). The house was very clean, staff was always friendly and helpful. At the time of writing this, we can recommend the breakfast buffet! Just one little downer: The "bar" is not a classic hotel bar - you basically sit in the breakfast area, and once in a while a staff member shows up and takes your orders. That lacks some atmosphere.
Andreas V — Google review
Very good hotel, clean large rooms, facilities of the room include complimentary toothbrushes and paste, hairbrush and other things for hygiene. Stuff on reception is really friendly, we appreciate to their hospitality. I don’t give the 5 points to this hotel because of pretty simple breakfast, boiled eggs surprisingly were cold and kept on the frozen desk, no fried eggs and omelet, there was only scrambles eggs. Coffee was not tasty
Denys H — Google review
We booked this hotel well in advance of our stay as the reviews were good and it was in a central location. When we arrived there was a large, busy queue at reception which was fine and to be expected. We were then advised our room would be 207 which is basically behind the reception desk next to their office space. I suggested to the receptionist that this room would be noisy due to its location and was assured it was ‘not’. If you enjoy being wakened regularly with guests arriving/leaving, constant loud chat consistent with a busy reception area and the noise of their printer from the office next door, then this is the room for you. Fabulous, four star it is not, very disappointing. We complained and were given a €20 discount on our room rate……not enough for the hassle or lack of sleep, we were so glad to leave. Loved Bilbao, will return but not to this hotel.

Great location. Large comfy rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Has a nice terrace but there's no actual bar. You can order a drink if you press the bell for service. Great soundproofing in the bedroom from outside noise.

I had a very enjoyable stay here. A quiet and calm oasis in the town centre. The staff were all very helpful and all spoke good English which was great as my Spanish is poor at best. Good breakfasts to set you up for the day. I would stay here again.

Brilliant hotel. Very nice and central location. The hotel is very clean and rooms were cleaned daily during our stay. Staff was very helpful and kind at all times. I highly suggest to include breakfast as part of your stay as its great and you can be ready to explore Bilbao straight away.

Not a 4 star but a decent 3 star in reality. Needs are very comfortable so the room only misses some teas/coffee/water to go with it's supplied kettle. Overall, it misses a bar/lobby area to congregate in and had no restaurant so cannot be a star.

Lovely hotel. Disspaointed that they didn’t do the room service unless you recuested it to Reception before 1:00pm (that should had been advised at checkin). Rooms and bathroom are modern, clean, and pretty spacious.

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao, Hotel Abando is a polished gem that perfectly blends comfort and convenience. Just steps away from the Abando Metro Station and a short stroll to the iconic Guggenheim Museum, this hotel offers easy access to the city's vibrant attractions. Guests can enjoy air-conditioned rooms equipped with free Wi-Fi and satellite TV, making it an ideal base for exploring. The hotel's colorful regional eatery and casual café provide delightful dining options right on-site.
Lovely hotel, very central to everything in Bilbao, situated right in the heart of cafes, shops and museums. Yet was quiet. Only downside no sitting outside area and room on the inside was a bit dark but the location, friendliness of staff and the service is second to none.
Helene M — Google review
There was little to no sound damping so could hear everything in the rooms around me and in the corridor. The AC was terrible and my room (on floor 5/6) was so hot even with it on full. The staff was kind and the breakfast good however. The area is lovely with fantastic food places very close.
Caitlin O — Google review
Enjoyed 4 nights here. The breakfast suited us choosing smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, cheese and bread with extra virgin olive oil and a light shake of salt. Pineapple with yogurt and walnuts. One of the receptionists, Enzo, was extremely helpful, telling us about the Metro and helping us to source a sports bar at short notice after realising that the hotel Abando itself wasn't able to show the Women's World Cup Rugby Final as promised. The downside as previously noted in other Spanish Hotels, is the lack of sound proofing; namely doors slamming, toilets flushing, showers running, other guests coming back in the early hours 03.24, 04.37 talking loudly enough to wake us. Maybe it's because most Spanish city dwellers live in apartments and have to accept other people's noise as normal. The upside is it's extremely handy for the market, the eateries, the Metro and a pleasant riverside walk to the Guggenheim. If travelling to Bilbao by bus, take the Metro to "Abando" the hotel is just around the corner 1.90 euros per person from the machine using debit card and pin number. Frequent service only a few mins wait.
Lynne F — Google review
We found the "Abando" area a really great place to stay in Bilbao: we liked the atmosphere of it; lots of nice bars and restaurants within 5 to 10 min walking distance from the hotel. The river is nearby so you can have a nice stroll by the riverside, and the Guggenheim is a 15 min walk away from Hotel Abando. Hotel has very helpful staff, is clean, big rooms, nice beds.
Laura — Google review
Rooms are outdated and the beds are hard; it's not the cleanest place either. The shower floor seems to slope upward, and the drain is slow, so there was a bit of water on the floor after using it. We're on the third floor and the WiFi is spotty. We booked this room months ago so we got a good rate, but it definitely doesn't feel like a four star hotel, even though there is a Michelin restaurant on the premises. The location is very good; it's about five minutes walking from the train station.
Angela A — Google review
Benefits: About a 10-minute walk from the airport shuttle bus station (Plaza Moyua), and also very close to the metro stop. A few houses down, there is a small shop, and a nice park in the direction of the mesa. There's plenty to choose from at breakfast. Cons: The decor is a bit shabby, and the view is of the office building next door. The bed is comfortable, but it slides around easily
Peter L — Google review
Our stay was far from satisfactory; exhaustion weighed heavily upon departure. The initial room had hairs everywhere, including on the bed, met with indifference from staff upon our request for another room. Though the other room was cleaner, it had a lot of shower mold. Despite this, we decided to keep the room because it was the last room with a single bed. The room was so hot that we couldn't sleep, and the staff said they only had centralized heating, not cooling. They gave us an old fan, but it made a lot of noise, so we didn't use it. Next to this, the hotel is very noisy. We couldn't wait to get back to our own bed for some real rest. We expected a great hotel experience, paying €620 for four nights, but we were sorely disappointed. Basic amenities were woefully absent, including friendly staff, a clean room, a bathrobe, a first complimentary water, an iron, and air conditioning. The indifference extended to departure, with no one asking how our stay was, we will not be returning.
Sarah O — Google review
Not really a 4-star hotel in my opinion. Receptionist who greeted us wasn't really friendly, the room could be cleaner (hair on the floor and in the bathroom). Beds were super uncomfortable, although this is a very individual thing. Location was great.

Excellent experience and service of a 5-star hotel⭐ We were travelling with our 4 months old baby and the hotel took care to provide bed and even baby bathtub for our little one. The location is just great, by the river and a 2 min walk from Guggenhaim museum. Rooms are very comfortable and silent - perfect for longer or short stay.

Great & convenient location. Opposite the Guggenheim, city a short walk away and tons of very good restaurants nearby. Travelling with children it is always great to have connecting rooms. There is a small car park and you should reserve a spot well in advance. For me Elena/Helena from reservations was a star- excellent customer service!
Tasha N — Google review
The hotel is located right in front of the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, making it a great location with parking for an extra cost brighten the centre of the city. The views from bar were nice. We have previously stayed in the hotel of this chain in Porto, Portugal, and it was absolutely fabulous— the staff, the location, the facilities, everything was brilliant, so we decided to book the hotel from Vincci chain again, when we came to Bilbao, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment. Starting with the fact that no one actually instructed us on how to get to our room, how to get Internet, leading to the fact that there was no water or whatsoever available coffee or so in the room. It was clean, but there were no rubbish bins, which was weird. Furthermore, it was my birthday and there was literally zero acknowledgement of that by hotel. They didn't only ignore the fact of the celebration, but they also complained to us, that when I was supposed to receive my surprise flower delivery we were not in the room and they couldn't contact us for an hour, even though they had all our contact details and nobody emailed us at last. So literally no congratulations and a very rubbish attitude on my birthday without any compliments or upgrades whatsoever, despite the fact that when you're staying in a hotel of a proper level, you always expect a good treatment that we unfortunately didn't get this time. So, do not recommend if you wish to have any special occasions there, but the location is great.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Great service by the wonderful staff, both during breakfast, tapas at lunch and during dinner. Especially want to send a thanks out to Luis, part of the restaurant team, for making our stay memorable. And thanks to the entire staff of Vincci Bilbao. Also, can't forget to mention the wonderful location of the hotel, close to the stores and the Guggenheim!

Rikke D — Google review
I had to cancel my reservation at Hotel Vincci 13 days in advance due to a medical emergency, yet the hotel refused to refund my $750 payment because their policy requires cancellation 14 days in advance. Denying a refund over being just one day outside the window—especially under such circumstances—is extremely disappointing and shows a lack of compassion and flexibility. I gave plenty of notice, and the hotel still has ample time to rebook the room for another guest. I expected a higher level of understanding and customer service from a hotel of this standard.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, Hotel ILUNION San Mamés is a contemporary haven that offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience. The hotel features a shared lounge, free WiFi, and an inviting terrace for relaxation. A highlight is the restaurant serving delectable Spanish cuisine, perfect for indulging after a day of exploration.
First of all a big thank you and a special mention to three people from the staff. The receptionist who welcomed us, that I unfortunately didn't get the name. He spent a lot of time with us, giving us tips, insights about the best places to go, how to move around, etc. Making us feel welcome since the very beginning. Then Mari Mar from the restaurant. She is genuinely so nice, so attentive and so friendly that made us want to go back to have dinner there, instead of going outside the hotel. Yasemil, cleaning our room was also very professional and kind. People are what make every experience memorable, so I had to start with that. Some others things we also really enjoyed: - the hotels compromise with sustainability. Aside from the garbage bags, nothing was made of plastic (including the room cards, the amenities, and the courtesy water cans in the room! Amazing). - very quiet, clean and welcoming atmosphere. - nice location, super close to all the public transportation systems (bus, metro, tranvia - and it's so affordable to use public transportation in Bilbao - kudos). - the restaurant serves nice dinner at a very reasonable price. - the breakfast is quite okay. Not a huge variety, but just the right amount. So overall, it was a very nice stay and I highly recommend the hotel.

We’ve stayed here before and once again had a fantastic experience. At the reception we were warmly and professionally welcomed by Juan – truly a star! The rooms were clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was also well taken care of. Overall, an excellent stay!

I stayed at Illunion San Mamés three times during Manchester United’s Europa League campaign in March, April and May 2025, and each visit was excellent. The facilities are modern, comfortable, and always spotless – a perfect base when travelling for football and exploring Bilbao. The location is also ideal, with great transport links and easy access to the city. A special mention goes to Aritz at reception, who was incredibly helpful on all three occasions. His professionalism, friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile really made my stays even better. As someone visiting from the UK, I felt very welcome and well looked after every time. I would highly recommend Illunion San Mamés to anyone visiting Bilbao, whether for football, business, or leisure.

Excellent, modern hotel in downtown Bilbao, walking distance to the Old Town. Beautiful room, very quiet, comfortable bed, pillows, great shower, and most important, a warm welcome from the over worked receptionist Maria Gonzalas. She was alone as we lined up, thephi e ringing, but she handled it so politely, never flustered. She spoke excellent English, and gave great recommendations for food. Great value for the money.
Penny L — Google review
Everything is perfect, from reception staff to hotel room. But there is one big point that needs improvement: the cleanliness of plates, glasses etc. at the buffet!!! Really wasn't nice to see leftovers on clean plates, liptstick and orange juice stains on glasses. Also, no fresh croissant or other sweets - all they had was defrosted donuts and muffins.
Sophia R — Google review
When you walk in you're greeted with a large LED screen of calming waves and a feeling of luxury... It's all down hill from there really. Whilst the hotels focus seems to be focused on being modern and projecting a luxury look they forget about the basics. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable with thin pillows. Towels are way past their life being thin, scratchy and fail to dry any moisture. Whilst the rooms have two televisions (for reasons) the "smart" thermostat only allows a minimum temperature of 23c. It's maybe time to focus less on the flashy stuff and focus on providing guests with a decent night of sleep.
J B — Google review
We stayed for two nights at Hotel Ilunion San Mamés in Bilbao and were very pleased with our experience. Even before our arrival, the customer service stood out: we received a quick and clear reply to our email asking about the best place to park, which saved us time and hassle when we got there. The welcome and check-in were particularly pleasant. The receptionist – whose name I unfortunately didn’t ask – was extremely friendly and clearly did his very best to make us feel at home. Thank you for the warm welcome! Our room wasn’t very large, but it was modern, well-designed, and had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a wide variety. On simple request, eggs were freshly prepared to our liking – a nice touch we truly appreciated. In terms of location, the hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the city center. For those who prefer not to walk, there are excellent public transport options nearby. Bus, tram, metro, and even the city tour train are all just a short walk away. In short, Hotel Ilunion San Mamés is a great base for visiting Bilbao. We would warmly recommend it! Ivan

One of the best locations - the old city is in the walking distance, the shopping stores are right there, the greatest shopping mall is across the street. The room is spacious and clean and the staff is friendly. The bus stations and metro are nearby and the bus station to the airport is a 10 min walk away. I recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a very good location. If you’re there by car or have a rental car, you can park in a very close garage called “Instituto”. 22.50€ per day, but you get a daily 10% discount from the hotel. Breakfast could’ve been a bit more selection, but all in all it was good. Also a notification: For breakfast you have to choose one of four slots, beginning with 7:00 a.m. and last one possible is 9:15 a.m. - very good system because the breakfast room is not that big. Personal is very kind and helpful. We can recommend the hotel and if we come back to Bilbao, we’ll definitely choose Sercotel Ayala again. 😊
Dennis M — Google review
First of all, the hotel reception can only accommodate one person at a time. Even though we chose a room facing the street, they gave us one facing the back. The breakfast costs 11 euros, but there are time restrictions. Although breakfast starts around 6 AM, it is divided into 4 time slots. So don’t expect to eat whenever you like just because you paid for it. You have to inform them a day in advance of your preferred one-hour time slot. Now, the most surprising part for me: the duvet covers consist of two separate sheets that come apart as soon as you get in. It’s very uncomfortable, and I lost count of how many times I woke up because of this. Also, they say the room is 21 square meters, but there’s an unnecessary corridor inside, and they probably count that too. Otherwise, the room is small and feels cramped. The chairs in the room are dirty and stained — I can’t understand how they don’t notice. In my opinion, this is a 2-star hotel at best. Other than that, the location is nice.

Great central location, reception staff very helpful with advice on places to visit and dine. We stayed on two different days outbound and in, the rooms are basic but comfortable. I found the beds exceptionally comfortable. Good continental breakfast, recommended hotel
Mark T — Google review
The bathroom had a severe mold/mildew smell (some of the worst I've seen in the world), which some consider to be a potential health issue (if old or immunocompromised). We could not figure out where it was coming from after needing to air out the window and feeling ill. Eventually when realizing it was the bathroom, the staff was kind enough to help us (which was a 5star for service and the only reason I might consider Sercotel in the future) but I really felt interrogated and harassed about why we had not used the bathroom earlier (which was a 1star) so this review is quite conflicted. Maybe I might update the review upon proof that the mold/mildew problem was solved definitively, but I'm under the impression that it usually requires abatement by ripping out the walls. I hope it was not rented right afterwards. The new room with usable bathroom was acceptable and the hotel was in a difficult position to provide it once we discovered the source of the issue due to their high tenancy for the night.

Top choice for a fair price in the center of Bilbao. The standard double room is comfortable and has all you need. Nestled in the heart of Bilbao, Axel Hotel Bilbao is a gem that promises an unforgettable stay. Guests rave about the exceptional service provided by the dedicated team, including friendly receptionists who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. The hotel's prime location makes it easy to explore the vibrant city. Rooms are designed with comfort in mind, featuring thoughtful details that enhance your stay. One of the highlights is undoubtedly the stunning rooftop pool, perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.
Staff friendly and helpful. Our rooms were so clean and everything you need is supplied, hairdryer, iron, ironing board. Lovely views over river and old town. Great rooftop views. Only downside is area behind the hotel. Definitely not a place to wander, but actually have no need as everything to do and see is in front of hotel and along the river. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
Tina R — Google review
Nice location, just over the river from the old town. Convenient for transport. Rooms were nice and clean and well furnished but the a/c was a disaster. Reception having to be called at least twice a day to reset it, this coupled with room doors that banged shut due to inconsiderate guests took the edge of it. Roof top pool is a nice addition but simply not big enough for the number of guests. Didn’t use the Spa or breakfast, the latter was expensive at €18 per person in my opinion.
Graham T — Google review
Very disappointing experience – I do not recommend this hotel: 1. Pool area completely inadequate: Only 6 lounge chairs for the entire hotel, which led to uncomfortable tension between guests. We were even told by other guests that it was “time to give up our spot” after using a chair for just 1.5 hours. Unpleasant and poorly managed. 2. Repeated towel issues: Housekeeping forgot to provide towels twice, and then the front desk forgot them twice more, despite repeated reminders. We received towels around 11 PM. 3. Unhelpful and unprofessional staff – especially at reception: Our room’s electrical meter made a loud noise, and when turned off, a bright emergency light stayed on all night. I spoke to « Eric » at the front desk (at least that was the name given to me), who simply told me to “sleep with the light on if I don’t want the noise.” When I asked to speak to the manager, he said: “I don’t know when they’re here. I don’t really know anything.” No solution offered, and the attitude was shockingly dismissive. 4. Unpleasant atmosphere overall and poorly trained staff. This stay was far below expectations for the price and not at all as advertised.
Matthias C — Google review
Good hotel overall, with very nice small rooftop pool and bar. Nice rooms, but be aware that the “cityrooms” face directly to the neighbor house wall. Gives a claustrophobic feel. It possible to book a room towards the river for a little more. The hotel also has a sewage smell problem in the room. The staff explained it with the hotel being next to the river. Used the spa once. Nice facilities, but here was a “fungus like” smell.
Tina H — Google review
A hotel that prides itself on being inclusive to all. My room was good sized, clean, modern and comfortable. Sink could be a bit larger, but shower was good sized and the toilet was great with a wand for your backside. Rooftop bar and pool is incredible, with a friendly staff.
Mark R — Google review
We really enjoyed our stay overall. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful — special thanks to Danny and Sandra who went out of their way to assist us. A couple of things future guests should be aware of: the hotel sits right on the edge of the Old Town, which is a plus for exploring, but also right next to an area that is extremely rough. During festivals it’s very difficult for cars or taxis to get close to the hotel, which can mean a long walk through streets that feel pretty oppressive (we were even advised by locals to be careful with valuables). Parking is also tricky. There isn’t anything convenient nearby — the closest option is about a 15-minute walk away and costs €20+ per day. During our stay the festival meant it was closed, and after nearly an hour searching for a space late at night, we ended up near the Guggenheim, which added a €10 taxi ride each way on top of the parking charges for most of the week. Also, note that the “rooftop pool” is really just a shallow splash pool to cool off in — perfect for lounging with a drink, but not a swimming pool in any real sense. So while we would have liked to give 4 stars, these factors did drag the experience down a little for us. That said, the staff and cleanliness made a strong positive impression, and we still had a good stay overall and would consider staying at Axel hotels in the future, although maybe not in Bilbao.

Overall, an ok hotel, what i liked: very friendly staff, rooftop bar, pool, very clean, location (near the tram and just across the old town). The hair dryer, good bed. Didn't like the room, the toilet is just a little too open, a huge shower but no privacy, if you share this type of room you better know the person very well as the toilet had only a glass door and you can hear everything 🙄🙄-need I say more... also this silly curtain....to "separate " the bathroom area from the room. No soundproofing, we could hear the other guests when in the hallway... I would define it as a trendy hotel, only for adults. Breakfast looked great.

Perfect hotel in Bilbao to adjust to jet lag. This was our first spot when we landed in Spain and the location was just quiet enough to get rest at all hours and close enough to all the food options you can imagine including the Pintxos at the food hall across the river and in. old town(go after 8pm). We loved our river walks and morning coffees. The rooftop pool is a rare treat for Bilbao and breakfast was wonderful. We booked the suite and barely used the second room because the hotel spaces were so fun.

Historical place
Vizcaya Bridge, also known as Puente Colgante, is a monumental iron structure that connects the neighborhoods of Las Arenas and Portugalete over the Estuary of Bilbao. This architectural marvel was completed in 1893 and was the world's first transporter bridge to carry both people and traffic on a high suspended gondola. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its significance as an icon of industrial architecture.
This is a spectacular hanging bridge which you cross the river on a platform. It has been in operation since the late 1800s, which is amazing. The platform takes about 4 cars, bikes and passengers. It only cost €0.95 for a person and a bike! Definitely a must do. It runs every 5 mins, and you can spend a lot of time just watching it travel back and forward. Even for those non-Engineers out there it is something special. There are less than 10 of these hanging bridges world wide, so no wonder it is a UNESCO site.
Simon R — Google review
Very interesting piece of architecture / engineering. Pretty iconic in Bilbao. We went on the hanging gondola, but you can get the lift up to the top and walk across. Apparently this was in the original design but wasn't added until much later
Tony E — Google review
An interesting architecture bridge with a hanging gondola. If you have few hours to spare while in Bilbao. Recommend to take a train or metro to Portugalete and visit the site. Take the chance and go up the elevator and cross by foot on the top wooden platform, excelente views.
Ilan H — Google review
The bridge spans the estuary of the Ría de Bilbao where it meets the sea, in the province of Biscay (Basque Country), northern Spain. It connects the towns of Portugalete and Getxo. The Bizkaia Bridge is the world’s first metal-structure transporter bridge (also called a ferry-bridge), where a gondola (platform) carries vehicles and pedestrians across the river beneath a high span. Designed by engineer Alberto Palacio (with assistance from Ferdinand Arnodin) and inaugurated on 28 July 1893. It is considered a landmark of industrial-era iron architecture and engineering.
YOGESH S — Google review
Inexpensive, fun, educational ride across the river on a "ferry" platform suspended over the river by a gantry crane operating between the two shore towers. One of only 5 of these 1880s "flying ferries" for cars an d people still in operation.
Christopher H — Google review
Crossing is very affordable at 0.55€ each, getting the lift to walk on the top is 10€ each. The views from the top are amazing, plus very high, with gaps in the wooden boards as you walk, can be a bit scary. Also when the hanging platform crosses its rocks the upper platform!
Gary O — Google review
The view from the bridge is very nice. It is worth going up, walking to the other side of the river, and then coming back by the cable ferry
Olga G — Google review
Really interesting piece of infrastructure if you’re into that thing. It’s only €0.55 to cross on the gondola, you can pay about €8 to walk across along the top but I couldn’t convince my friends to do it with me.

Hotel Conde Duque Bilbao is a charming property with warmly decorated rooms, a restaurant/bar, and a gym. It boasts a prime location on the riverbank of the Nervion River, offering stunning views of the Calatrava Bridge and close proximity to Bilbao's main attractions. The hotel is only 750 meters from the renowned Guggenheim Museum and actively promotes the city's cultural events.
I came from Chile and I stayed there for vacation. Location is amazing, every important place is close to the hotel. The whole staff were lovely and cozy. Breakfast good enough, neat and modern installations. I hope to return as soon as possible.

Great hotel, great location, very friendly staff. Very close to the Guggenheim Museum, right next to a river, very close to the funicular that goes up on the hill. Very good shopping opportunities nearby. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and the tram stops right on the other side of the original Zubizuri bridge, which is also right in front of the hotel.
Gunnar E — Google review
Although the hotel is getting on in years, it sparkles with cleanliness. Both - the floor staff and the receptionists - are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I also confirm previous reviews - the hotel is in an excellent location for those who want to explore Bilbao and the surrounding areas. Our room (superior double room with balcony) was spacious and bright, and the bathroom was also extremely comfortable. The only thing we missed were glasses that could be used for water/drinks. I rate the breakfasts as adequate.
Kinga — Google review
It was a real pleasure to stay in this very comfortable hotel located in an ideal vicinity next to the footbridge over the river. All the staff were particularly friendly and attentive to help in any and every way to make us feel welcome and relaxed, and I feel very confident to wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
Jim B — Google review
I can't recommend this hotel. When we arrived there was only one lady on reception and we had to wait 10 minutes to check in. When we got to our room we noticed a nasty smell (like sick). We asked the lady on reception to check and she changed the sheets which helped. However, because she was the only person on duty, others who arrived had to wait 15 minutes. The lady was very helpful, but I can't believe there was no one else available. The hotel is also very noisy and echoey. Getting to sleep was very difficult as a result. We only booked this hotel because another (excellent) hotel we stayed at just a hundred metres or so away was fully booked. I would not stay here again.
Ben S — Google review
The room is perfectly located nearby Guggenheim and casco viejo. The staff were nice and polite. The room, although 22 sq m in size feels stuffy. Maybe of the interior? Dark cabinets, no view, warm room, cannot regulate the temperature (we asked to turn off the warmer, but was not done, so we opted to open the window ). No mini ref a disappointment, but you can ask the receptionist to store the food (a bit of a hassle). the smell from the bathroom. Ufff. It was modern but it smelled sewage. Tv was old model, cant connect your netflix/ youtube. Good space for your clothes, and has a safe. Watercooker, and iron upon request.

Thank you Gerardo for your support. You made our experience at the hotel much better than anticipated

I’ve been going to Spa Jardines de Albia for 6-8 years. They always offer wonderful service. I must say that today it was extra special; Irma was extraordinary and made sure that I was comfortable and well attended. Muchas gracias, Irma! Hasta la próxima!

Good falicities, good price but staff not really friendly. Was on my hen do with friends, we got the alba circuit, I asked to change towel as it was really wet and I was starting to get cold. Their solution was for me to buy one from them. For a spa it's ridiculous to be so strict on towel, we were the last group, so a lot of towel available, their quality is not even good. They need to improve their service

One of the worst massage experiences in my life. Opted for the theurapetic massage instead of the relax massage, 55 minutes for 52 euro. I told her to focus on ankle and shoulder with high pressure. After the session, still the same pain and tight muscles. Definitely will not recommend to anyone.

The hotel offers private parking and is conveniently situated near the metro station and bus stops for easy access to the airport.
Really good place to Stay for a Bilbao visit, friendly staff, very clean room and excelent location within 5minute walk to the Guggenheim or the center streets. Highly recommended
Fabio B — Google review
The rooms look nicer in the photos than they are in person, but it was fine for the price. The bed was big and comfortable and the bathroom recently updated and clean. A fresh coat of paint on the walls would do a lot for the room. The hotel has a really strong scent that is used - it’s not particularly pleasant (smells like they are really trying to cover something up). It isn’t as strong in the room as it is in the hallway, but if you are sensitive to smells, you will dislike this! The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly (very good English). They helped make some restaurant recommendations for me. Location is great! Very close to the river walkway and the Guggenheim Museum which is worth a visit.
Stephanie K — Google review
The room was very stylish, spacious, had everything you’d need. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff on reception. One minor detail is that the double bed is actually two single beds pushed together, in the room we stayed in at least. Didn’t negatively impact the stay however we were expecting a double bed. That being said would definitely recommend as we had a really enjoyable stay.
Hannah O — Google review
Someone broke the window of our van in the hotel’s parking (which we had paid for), and several of our belongings were stolen. The management refused to give us an extra night's stay or a refund, even though we lost a day filing a police report and couldn't sleep in our van as usual because we no longer had a window. I would like to point the quality of the bedding and the kindness of the receptionist, who really did everything he could to help us. It's a shame that his superiors showed so little empathy and seemed to prioritize money over people.
Brune C — Google review
It is a very quiet hotel. The double rooms have a huge bed that is very comfortable. It is extremely clean and also has a sitting area that is amazing. The service from the main desk people is spectacular. They are always happy to help and truly very respectful and kind.

Basic clean room with all you could need...kettle, fridge, hairdryer. Super location in middle of town. 5 min walk to Guggenheim. They held onto our luggage for an afternoon flight. Bus for airport around the corner.
Anu C — Google review
The apartments are in an excellent location, close to the city center and the shopping area. They are located on the street where the bus to the airport goes, which is particularly convenient. Since it is a group of apartments spread over two floors of the building, there is a reception desk and a luggage room where you can leave your things after leaving the apartment until you go to the airport. The reception is open all day until 10PM. Cleaning and refilling coffee and tea is a regular activity. Rooms facing the street are much better than those facing the interior of the building, i.e. the wall. The rooms are well equipped, they have a kettle, coffee, tea, mini fridge, hairdryer and safe. The bathroom is great. The downside is that the apartments are quite small and there is a lack of space. There is only one chair and the apartment was for two. The bathroom is separated from the room only by a glass wall. The glass is not completely transparent, but everything that is done in the bathroom can be heard and partially seen, which is often unpleasant. The staff is pleasant and helpful.
Zoran J — Google review
The location is very good, however the hotel is very noisy. You can hear all the neighbours and the staff. The room is basic and bathroom could be cleaner. The hairdryer was so old that it broke in our hands. We got another one (equally old) and it smelt like burn hair while drying. The bed was quite ok, temperature was comfortable.
Sylwia G — Google review
Absolutely awful, bedbugs ate us alive. The receptionist lives behind reception in a room, the smell is disgusting. We called him at 4am letting him know about the bedbugs (we caught two and killed them) and he suggested to give us new sheets as he didn't have any spare rooms left. He said this was something common and normal, probably we had only two, as he could not see anymore, and as we killed them, we should change the sheets and go to sleep. He refused to give us any compensation, our money back for the night, refuse to find us another accommodation and he didn't even want to give us a claim sheet. Obviously we have left at 5 am in the morning and I will write a formal complain to the Spanish consumer department.
Rachel M — Google review
They claim to have parking garage when filtering on booking app yet they don't have any on site.

Best massage experience I have ever had! I get massages a lot but this one was amazingly thorough and the price was amazing! Probably 5-stars and great if you're a straight man looking for a soft sensual massage with a happy ending. Dreadful if you're expecting the booked a professional Thai massage with a decent amount of pressure. Cheaper for a reason. Asked to pay in cash up front, never a good sign. Closely followed by a request for tip before the massage had started. Not a good experience.

I wouldn't recommend this place for various reasons. I ordered 1 hour of foot reflexology and expected to get a nice foot massage. Instead of that I got only 50 minutes of weird extremely painful massage that left me with blood stains. I am very pain-resistant and used to massages, but this was extremely painful (felt more like anti-cellulite massage)! Good one was that I got offered a pain removing cream (why just not adjust the massaging techniques?). The massage itself was not a reflexology at all! It was a massage of the whole leg, mainly upper part, with some Thai massage stretching part. Nothing related to the actual foot. Also during the massage session the girl just left the room like 3 times without saying a word. 2 times she answered the phone (both local and private mobile conversation), and one just vanished. The room itself was clean and nice, but it was surprising that foot massage is done on the bench (in Thailand such massages are done on the chairs). It was definitely not worth 50 euros. By the way, it was extremely hard to pay (tried like 3 times), and the therapist was not happy of the fact that I pay by card, said that it's important to pay cash (dumb during Corona time).

We had a long vacation in Bilbao this time. Okane Spa was recommended by one of our friends. The first impression was great! Place is clean and organized. The lady we did an oil massage for me named Jennifer was excellent. She has tried so hard to make sure I am happy with the result and yes I am very happy. A 90 minute oil massage was really worth the money. I will go back there again next time in Bilbao.
Laura T — Google review
Disappointing! Decoration ultra kitsch, doubtful cleanliness. A massage should be fluid, not stopped because the masseuse receives messages on her phone or needs mouthwash (!! Twice!!). Mine started at 12.06 and finished at 12.58. Not quite the 60 mn bought. Typical small thing that annoys. I will not come back and do not recommend.

This place was LOVELY. I arrived early and while my room was note ready, they were quite kind in storing bags and being communicative. The room was super clean, very well decorated, and very comfortable. I was impressed and how nice everything was (much better than 4 star places I have stayed in the past.) We stayed in the Woody Allen apartment which is in a separate building to the hotel with its own entrance. It was better than we expected, extremely well priced, very clean and the staff were helpful and quick to respond on email before our stay. Great location in the old town too. Although it was above a bar, the sound proofing was excellent, two of the bedrooms are set back from the road side anyway down the hallway and it was quiet outside by 11pm too.

We stayed two nights in this amazing little hotel. The room was beautiful, clean, and very well appointed. Perfect location to explore Casco Viejo and the riverside. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was worth it alone. Super helpful and communicative staff. We also really enjoyed the glasses in balcony overlooking the street. Would highly recommend.
Tara R — Google review
I stayed with family in the 3 bedroom Spielberg apartment for one night. Inside the apartment was beautiful, really stylish and clean, had everything you need, very impressive. However, I didn't realize from descriptions online and reviews that it would be extremely noisy. Windows are old and thin, and there is a bar right below, so until at least midnight it was impossible to sleep in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Building is located in the pedestrian area, so if you like to be in the middle of things and have shops and life right in front of you, this is great. If you need to get luggage or small kids to the apartment, it is not great. Communication was a bit sparse - the person who checked us in promised to send breakfast recommendation, but never got back to me. It also would have been nice to give guests heads up where to stop the car to unload luggage, since you cannot drive to the apartment, or suggest several parking options (when we tried the only one suggested by the host it was full). Due to these logistical problems it took us an hour to actually get into the apartment.

Fabulous hotel in the heart of the Old Town. Easy to find although reception on 1st floor and you need a room code to enter the ground floor door. Rooms named after stars of cinema, we had Clint Eastwood. A spacious double on second floor, made into a triple for us, huge bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the street. Beds were so comfortable, power shower plenty of hot water, no noise from street due to double windows. We had a Nespresso machine and asked for a fridge. Staff helpful and kind. Would definitely come back here!

The entire place is very cozy and comfortable. Interiors are incredible! The host is very polite. The bed is super comfortable, huge tv. The spot is in the very center of the Bilbao night life, despite that the apartment is very quiet! Our family had a wonderful time here.

Perfect location, right in the centre of the historical part of Bilbao and just a few steps away from Plaza Nueva. Despite this, the rooms are very quiet and you don't hear noise from outside with your windows closed. The staff are very friendly and check in was easy. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are overall very cozy and nicely decorated. The AC works.

Lovely little “pension” (Spanish guesthouse) w/ vibes of a boutique hotel but without the traditional Bells and whistles of a boutique hotel. Super well located, 1 min away from Plaza nueva where you can find some of the best pintxos bars of Bilbao. Rooms are very comfortable. Lovely 1950s vintage decoration, the whole place is an ode to the movies industry. And each room is dedicated to a Spanish film director. Our room was packed with posters from movies directed by Julio Medem. They don’t have a reception open 24/7 but the owner is super friendly and she’ll email in advance to plan with you the check-in times so she can be there to greet you.

(Translated by Google) My partner and I went a few days ago and we were delighted with the place. A very cozy place. A private space of this level is greatly appreciated to recharge batteries and purify yourself from the hustle and bustle of the city. Furthermore, the treatment was very pleasant and close. We will repeat without a doubt. But next time we will also try the breakfast that can be included in the pack. This time we couldn't due to work problems and we regret it because they gave us a very good reference about this. Next time! Thank you so much! ¡Muchas gracias!

After a voucher with breakfast where the options are thousands and the treatment is unbeatable, we went to the Spa tour. It has a sauna suitable for more than one person and a brutal jacuzzi to immerse yourself in afterwards. The bath is so relaxing that time flies by. A very important point is that they have hairdryer products so we can dry our hair before going out, a big tip!😊 I would always come back, a thousand thanks to all the kind workers and all the service.

(Translated by Google) I did not like the experience in the wellness area since in my opinion it is not well explained. It says that it lasts 60 minutes but it is not real, because you have to change and shower in the same time and also when we entered, the hot tub was still filling and after 45 minutes it turned off automatically, in short, in the end you can enjoy 40 minutes . And honestly for the price you pay it is not worth the time you enjoy.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful experience throughout the entire trip through Egypt. The guides at the destination are very professional and close; the Nile cruise guide, Ahmed Hamdi, accessible for any questions from the Group, a real luxury. The return trip deserves special mention, with Egypt Air, so as not to repeat, disastrous service and 36 hours of delay, without information and from one side to the other of the different airports.
