Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, Basque Boutique is a charming hotel that beautifully marries local folklore with modern comfort. Its eight uniquely designed rooms feature exposed brick walls and wooden beams, evoking the warmth of a rustic country home. The communal areas are inviting, offering woodsy vibes and a serene garden patio perfect for relaxation.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is perfect. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very friendly. It's easy to get to most of the sights and there are many restaurants and bars nearby.
Simon B — Google review
Great central location at a reasonable price. Rooms are good with quirky decorations and I was impressed by the GHD hair straighteners and Egyptian cotton towels. Sadly our room (No. 4) was next to reception so it was noisy when people were entering the hotel and the machine for the promised complimentary coffee was broken during our stay.
Carole R — Google review
We had a lovely experience at Basque Boutique. The room was comfortable, clean, and fully equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was just perfect. We recommend this little gem without any doubt.
Andrea — Google review
The worse experience I have ever had in a hotel due to noise! There is NO soundproofing. The bars underneath close at 2:30 am .... there is nothing to block out the noise other than a curtain, our room had 0 soundproof, to the point some kids outside a bar had a boom box and were dancing in the street until 2:30 am screaming drunk and singing, when this shut off, 4:30 am people were fighting and screaming in the street....... 5:55 the bin men emptied all bottle bins....6:30 am street cleaners, 7:30 people opening up shops. Both nights collectively had a sleep of about 3 hours.... our rooms facing one of the streets was unbearable, others said they didn't hear it too much. The hotel are aware of the noise levels, leave ear plugs in the room.
Ash — Google review
Great spot to spend the night in the historical downtown. A little noisy but even though we stayed in the room closest to the reception, it was totally fine. Super clean, modern bathroom and cool decor. FYI Check in is after 1pm, checkout is maximum at 11am, they don’t do early check in or late check out.
Francisco F — Google review
The room was fine, but the location is bad. There is no way to drop off your bags at the hotel. So you must haul your bags a 1/3 mile from the parking garage that has a broken elevator and the up the stairs to the hotel. Additionally, the bar below our room was VERY loud till 2:30 am. Be warned!!!
Dark D — Google review
Had a fantastic time at basque suite. The locations is perfect for exploring Bilbao as you’re right in the middle of casco viejo and 5mins walk from the metro. Guggenheim and city centre is also walkable from here. The room was perfectly fine and the host gave us exceptional service. Would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy Bilbao.
Adam B — Google review
Great location, right in the heart of the old town. Noisy outside at night, but the double glazing did a good job and we got a good nights sleep. The interior deoration is superb. We had 3 rooms between us and they were all brilliantly different. We needed taxis to the airport on our departure and reception were extremely helpful in arranging them.

Casco Viejo, also known as the old quarter, is a vibrant district in Bilbao with a mix of modern shops and traditional taverns along the Seven Streets. The area features La Ribera market, where food stalls are housed in a boatlike waterfront structure and pintxo bars serve Basque tapas on sticks. Santiago Cathedral, a 14th-century Gothic landmark, and Teatro Arriaga draw crowds to opera and dance performances.

Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, the Barceló Bilbao Nervión is a stylish hotel that perfectly blends modern comfort with an ideal location for exploration. Just a leisurely stroll from iconic attractions like the Guggenheim Museum and surrounded by delightful pintxos bars and bustling shopping streets, this hotel is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the city's culture. Guests can unwind in contemporary rooms equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi or indulge in regional cuisine at the on-site restaurant.
Excellent hotel with good rooms, attentive staff, and well located near the city center. The reception and bar are gorgeous, and they do good cocktails. Only downside is parking: only 50 slots for 300+ rooms... Plus you can't reserve a parking spot, it's first arrived first served, so better get there early. Otherwise you have nearby underground public parkings that are about the same price and are not far. Overall great experience.
Alec R — Google review
Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Service was not existent, no help and none of the things you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The rooms are average at best, really basic and in need of renovating. Sinks clogged. Small and depressing. In the end we paid for a suite to get some more space. Sinks were still clogged and room in need of renovating but much more space. Reception and breakfast buffet is nice and well presented.
Oliver F — Google review
The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the main attractions. We used the parking, which was convenient but quite tight—definitely requires careful manoeuvring due to the size of the cars. The rooms are nicely decorated and a decent size, but the small window meant not much natural light came in. Unfortunately, the shower didn’t work properly—it couldn’t keep a steady temperature. We reported it to reception, but nothing was done, and the issue persisted throughout our stay. Housekeeping could also be improved: they didn’t clean our tea cups or replace the bottled water. On the positive side, breakfast was excellent—great variety and quality, though the coffee could be better (I’d rate breakfast 9/10). The bar, although open, told us they couldn’t serve most food items after 9:30pm, which was disappointing for a hotel of this level. Overall, it’s a nice hotel with a lot of potential, but there’s definitely room for improvement in both service and maintenance.
Juan D — Google review
Location is perfect, everything is walkable. Train to the mountaintop, the Guggenheim, both old and new town. Service is also excellent. You really experience this a as a modern hotel. The beds were slightly wobbly, not weird as ours were on wheels. And in the shower there is not much circulation, so there are some spots which are obviously harder to clean. Still a very good experience.
Rogier K — Google review
RE: management’s response regarding different room configurations. Thank you for clarifying, I’m aware of different types of rooms, which is why we chose ‘superior king’ to make sure we have adequate space. However the room we got was neither superior, nor king. If fact, a room like that should not be a part of a 4 star hotel at all. I can’t even imagine what your ‘standard’ room looks like. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The lobby and location are nice, but that's about it. Customer service and rooms are atrocious. Front desk staff was very indifferent to guests' experience and showed zero inclination to help. I've gotten more hospitality from a toaster at airbnb than from them. Also, while checking in, I witnessed a gentleman, who only spoke french, trying to get help with parking at the hotel. The receptionist's reponse was (in english) "I understand what you are saying, but I cannot help you as the garage is operated by another company". No intent to even try to help to resolve an issue with parking that YOUR hotel provides. We booked a superior room with king bed and got ... a shoe box with barely a full bed. The room was so small, I had to shuffle sideways to get around. We were lucky that we only had small carryon suitcases as there was absolutely no room for anything bigger. There were no drawers to put your things away at all, so we had to have suitcases on the floor during the entire stay. At one point I needed to use the ironing board and I had to sit on the bed to iron as there was no room to stand. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang your towels, so the only option was the floor. The shower door didn't close properly, so there was water everywhere. On top of that, during the shower, water temperature changed from cold to hot randomly, which made it for a very unpleasant shower. I've heard other guests complain about this issue as well. Mini fridge in the room did a great job at keeping your water at room temperature. Really glad we only booked 2 nights and I was so happy to leave.

I stayed at Barceló Bilbao Nervión for and had a very good experience. The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the Guggenheim Museum and the old town. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay.Breakfast had a good variety. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Bilbao especially for its location and comfort.
Naiara C — Google review
The Room is nice but the cleaning stuff is unbelievable loud! I had a 12 hour shift and wanted to take some rest before my next one but it I couldn’t. I even heard her cleaning the toilet 6 rooms away, because she always let the toilet seat drop down loudly. I heard every move of her for 1 hour straight. I stay in hotels all the time because of my job and I never had a case like that
Anna — Google review
Perfectly located within 10 minutes walks from Guggenheim and Casco Viejo. Bus stops close to the hotel as well as shops and restaurants. Bar open until late for drinks and food. Room with interior view (not so nice) but clean and quite

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao's vibrant Old Town, Casual Gurea is a delightful guesthouse that perfectly captures the essence of this lively city. Just a short stroll from the iconic Cathedral and close to Abando Train Station, it offers easy access to an array of shops, bars, and restaurants. Each room boasts its own unique theme with charming wooden floors, flat-screen TVs, safes for your valuables, and private bathrooms ensuring comfort during your stay.
Clean basic rooms in a very central location with incredibly helpful staff. There is also a small kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and a vending machine. We stayed in the four bed family room which was massive and had plenty of room for us all. They also helped us book discounted parking at the train station which is about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The room was very quiet at night with not noise from other rooms or from the streets outside
Stephen F — Google review
Although this hotel is a basic accommodations, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a good place to stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Right in the center of old town Bilbao, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Parking is available through the hotel at a lot nearby.
Richard B — Google review
The hotel is a little basic, but spotlessly clean and wonderfully located in the heart of the old town. It has a small space as a social area with a shared fridge and a kettle. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you just a need a base and don't need bells and whistles then this is a great option. I'd happily stay here again.
Douglas M — Google review
The place was just perfect for what I was looking for. The best thing is the location. Super central and plenty of bars and restaurants around. My room had everything I needed. The staff is kind and friendly and professional. Decent price for 3 nights and in my opinion Bilbao is a gem! I would definitely recommend it.
Francesco R — Google review
We were greeted by Patricia who was very helpful as we had our dog with us, she was very pleasant and informative and was willing to spend time for us. Check out was a totally different experience the lady Sara who was on reception was quite abrupt and unpleasant she greeted with a frown and negative body language and went on to tell us we had to pay an additional 10 euros for the dog staying there .We had told the hotel we had a dog with us and we were not informed about the additional cost at that time.We were only staying 1 night and then onto the ferry terminal at Bilbao. Check out left a sour taste and we would not be returning.
Michael M — Google review
This is more like a hostel than the hotel. Rooms are very very hot without air conditioning and very noisy. You can hear everything from the nearby rooms. But location was great. In the old part of the town near the cathedral.
Sanda S — Google review
Everything was clean, the staff friendy, and I was very happy with my stay. Great location, everything was close by. The only downside was the quite noisy floors - whenever someone walked past my room (which was at the beginning of the hallway, so a lot of peple passed by), I could hear the footsteps as if they were inside my room.
Linda — Google review
Pleasant, basic, clean guest house. Excellent location in the middle of The 7 Streets of Casco Viejo right by bars, restaurants and shops. Rooms are on 3rd and 4th floors of larger apartment complex, easily accessible by lift and reception is available 24/7 (3rd floor). Rooms are basic, a bit dark with small window overlooking courtyard ( different from photos), some with private bathroom and in-room safe though. Quite warm in summer, you can open window or ceiling fan helps somewhat. Recommended although slightly overpriced in relation to the rooms.

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao's historic old town, Pension Boutique Caravan Cinema is a charming guesthouse that beautifully marries retro aesthetics with cinematic flair. Housed within a stunning 200-year-old building, this boutique hotel features bright and inviting accommodations, each uniquely themed around iconic film directors. Guests can enjoy modern amenities like smart TVs and curated film libraries while soaking in the vintage ambiance created by exposed stone walls and classic Fifties decor.
This place was LOVELY. I arrived early and while my room was note ready, they were quite kind in storing bags and being communicative. The room was super clean, very well decorated, and very comfortable. I was impressed and how nice everything was (much better than 4 star places I have stayed in the past.) The location is fabulous - right in the Old City and very walkable to all the key things. And again, the whole staff was so nice. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it!
Kathy M — Google review
We stayed in the Woody Allen apartment which is in a separate building to the hotel with its own entrance. It was better than we expected, extremely well priced, very clean and the staff were helpful and quick to respond on email before our stay. Great location in the old town too. Although it was above a bar, the sound proofing was excellent, two of the bedrooms are set back from the road side anyway down the hallway and it was quiet outside by 11pm too.
Oli — Google review
We stayed two nights in this amazing little hotel. The room was beautiful, clean, and very well appointed. Perfect location to explore Casco Viejo and the riverside. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was worth it alone. Super helpful and communicative staff. We also really enjoyed the glasses in balcony overlooking the street. Would highly recommend.
Tara R — Google review
I stayed with family in the 3 bedroom Spielberg apartment for one night. Inside the apartment was beautiful, really stylish and clean, had everything you need, very impressive. However, I didn't realize from descriptions online and reviews that it would be extremely noisy. Windows are old and thin, and there is a bar right below, so until at least midnight it was impossible to sleep in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Building is located in the pedestrian area, so if you like to be in the middle of things and have shops and life right in front of you, this is great. If you need to get luggage or small kids to the apartment, it is not great. Communication was a bit sparse - the person who checked us in promised to send breakfast recommendation, but never got back to me. It also would have been nice to give guests heads up where to stop the car to unload luggage, since you cannot drive to the apartment, or suggest several parking options (when we tried the only one suggested by the host it was full). Due to these logistical problems it took us an hour to actually get into the apartment.
Natalia B — Google review
Fabulous hotel in the heart of the Old Town. Easy to find although reception on 1st floor and you need a room code to enter the ground floor door. Rooms named after stars of cinema, we had Clint Eastwood. A spacious double on second floor, made into a triple for us, huge bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the street. Beds were so comfortable, power shower plenty of hot water, no noise from street due to double windows. We had a Nespresso machine and asked for a fridge. Staff helpful and kind. Would definitely come back here!
Serena W — Google review
The entire place is very cozy and comfortable. Interiors are incredible! The host is very polite. The bed is super comfortable, huge tv. The spot is in the very center of the Bilbao night life, despite that the apartment is very quiet! Our family had a wonderful time here.
Kirill I — Google review
Perfect location, right in the centre of the historical part of Bilbao and just a few steps away from Plaza Nueva. Despite this, the rooms are very quiet and you don't hear noise from outside with your windows closed. The staff are very friendly and check in was easy. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are overall very cozy and nicely decorated. The AC works.
Chiara — Google review
Lovely little “pension” (Spanish guesthouse) w/ vibes of a boutique hotel but without the traditional Bells and whistles of a boutique hotel. Super well located, 1 min away from Plaza nueva where you can find some of the best pintxos bars of Bilbao. Rooms are very comfortable. Lovely 1950s vintage decoration, the whole place is an ode to the movies industry. And each room is dedicated to a Spanish film director. Our room was packed with posters from movies directed by Julio Medem. They don’t have a reception open 24/7 but the owner is super friendly and she’ll email in advance to plan with you the check-in times so she can be there to greet you.

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao's vibrant Old Town, Iturrienea Ostatua is a delightful guesthouse housed in a charming 1906 building. This cozy pension boasts beautifully restored antique furnishings that add character to each of its 21 bedrooms, complemented by lovely exposed stone walls and oak beams. Guests rave about the modern cleanliness and inviting atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for travelers seeking comfort and style.
Stayed 2 nights here, everything was perfect. Price, location, hospitality! So happy we chose to stay here. Will definitely come back if we visit Bilbao again. Special thanks to Hai who took our check-in, you have been wonderful! Meeting you here, made our trip even more special :)

We had a wonderful stay at this Hotel, which is full of character. Despite being in the heart of the lively Old Town (great location for walking around), the room was very quiet at night. What made our visit truly special was the friendly and helpful receptionist, who signposted us to the sights to visit and served us breakfast with a friendly smile.
Paul A — Google review
Loved our stay here: the hotel is right in the centre of the old town and very close to excellent bars. The soundproofing is really good — we couldn’t hear the street from our room when the window was shut. Lovely staff and a big room with a very modern bathroom. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Bilbao.

Very nice B&B, calm and relaxing. The decorations are very nice. The hosts are really welcoming. Highly recommended.
Anto R — Google review
I can't stress enough how incredible this B&B is! The rooms are modern, clean and cool. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They took their time guiding us through maps & making sure we knew where we were going. Plus, the location of this place is hard to beat! You're in the middle of Old Town, surrounded by dozens of the best tapas places and bars. One amazing thing I should mention: We were there during the big festival in August, but the room was completely sound proof even as marching bands went by the hotel. Also, if you put in the special request box during booking that you want a balcony, the staff will accommodate and you'll have an amazing view! Can't recommend this place enough!
Ana B — Google review
Lovely hotel. Great staff special mention for Daniel. I would recommend this hotel with no bother to family and friends.
Patricia K — Google review
Could not wait to get out of the tiny, dark smelly room that we were allocated. It was so small and badly planned it wasn't possible to open our carry-on luggage anywhere but on the bed. Technically it had a window but practically it opened onto a tiny interior space opening off reception. So getting out of bed you were within touching distance of anyone else who wandering by. Having raised these concerns at the partly staffed reception, I was told the solution was to keep the shutters down. By doing this you block off all natural light and any chance of fresh air. Again, hotel staff told me over half of their 9 rooms have no outside window. Buyer beware! Lastly the rooms are charm less with mis-matched old tat failing to disgust bad drains and poor maintenance.
Clare C — Google review
A great hotel - very central and buzzy but the street is mainly restaurants so it’s pretty quiet after about 11pm. The staff were great, and our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was generous too. Would stay again!

Arenal Suites Bilbao is a 2-star hotel with 25 heated rooms located just outside the neoclassical square 'Plaza Nueva'. It's conveniently situated near popular attractions such as Casco Viejo and Bilbao Catholic Cathedral. The hotel offers modern, well-decorated rooms with comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms. Guests appreciate the fantastic shower, friendly service, and its prime location in the old town.
Can’t fault it, especially for the price. Very comfortable stay, well-located in the old town. Our room faced the interior courtyard, so no street noise, but can imagine it’s an issue for those rooms at the front of the property.
Harriet R — Google review
Honestly one of the best places I've ever stayed in. The staff are very friendly, spoke English very well and in general, were lovely to talk to. You receive your room number, and door codes upon check-in. The location is really good. It's close to public transport, shops, plenty of food and drink places. The room itself was very clean, the bathroom was beautiful and the shower was powerful and spacious. It has plenty of loo roll, shower gel, shampoo and a really powerful hairdryer. The towels were clean too. The bed, my god it was comfy. It was memory foam and I got 3 really good night's of sleep. It has a little balcony too if you want to enjoy the Spanish atmosphere. The cleaners were friendly too, they're very professional and respectful. They won't touch your belongings, just fixing your bed and bathroom. I really wish I had some cash on me to leave for them because they did an excellent job. When staying here, please remember that it is typical for Spaniards to socialise until later on at night. There are a few bars near the hotel so until around 23:00, there is still some hustling and bustling

Staying in Arenal Suites for a week and sl far so great. It's located in the center and everything is close to you and you can walk, and my room is isolated out of all noises outside. That is perfect 😇bed is very comfy and i sleep great every night. Bathroom is very very clean and cleaning lady also comes every day to take care of your room that is really nice 😇😍 one thing is Ac, instead of Ac there is ventilation but very enough for me to enjoy. So my stay is great here 😇 definitely recommend 💯

The hotel is perfectly located right in the city center – ideal for exploring everything on foot. The room was beautifully designed with plenty of natural light, thanks to large windows in both the bedroom and the bathroom. Unfortunately, the service was average. Staff were not particularly attentive. There were also a few practical drawbacks: no bicycle parking available and no in-room coffee or tea facilities, which are fairly standard nowadays.

No aircondition, its like sleeping in an oven. No window to open to get fresh air. Terrible!

(Translated by Google) It was a terrible experience. This isn't a guesthouse, it's a rat cage. The building is old, with a wooden staircase that's difficult to climb with heavy suitcases. There's no elevator. The rooms are small and extremely hot, with only a ceiling fan, which isn't enough given the humidity in the rooms. There's only one window that looks into the building's tunnel, and it's closed, so there's no ventilation. Two hellish nights. The bed is uncomfortable with smelly pillows. The room is cleaned but not washed; the floor has always been dirty. Upon arrival, there was a towel stained with lipstick, which we only noticed after using it. The room doesn't even have a fridge or a kettle to make tea. The bathroom is small and doesn't have a bidet. Reception is only open during the day. Upon our arrival, a €50 deposit was requested, which will be returned after our stay; we weren't told the reason. It's located in the historic center, but I would have preferred a long distance rather than staying in a dump and paying an exorbitant price for the property. Stay away. State alla larga.

Art museum
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a stunning titanium and glass structure designed by Frank Gehry, showcasing major 20th-century artworks. It's located in Bilbao, a city that beautifully blends old and new. The museum is accessible via the unique Zubri Zuri Bridge, which has become an attraction in itself. While visiting, don't miss walking along the River Nervion for breathtaking views of the museum's futuristic architecture.
Such a fantastic showcase of different art forms and a spectacular building. A definite must see when you are in Bilbao. Book tickets in advance for sure as it does get busy, I booked for the first slot at 10am and it was quiet but by the time I got to the end of my visit it was much busier. Can easily spend a couple of hours in the museum itself and more outside in the sculpture gardens and walkways.

Had a lovely time at the Guggenheim Museum. It was definitely smaller than expected but still a fun and entertaining experience. Tickets are definitely on the pricier side but I’d say worth it. We didn’t get tickets in advance but thankfully there was just a small line to get tickets. I visited on a Friday. There’s 3 floors and I’d say that 2 hours would be more than enough to see everything + take pictures. The building has amazing architecture both externally and internally.

Loved the Guggenheim in Bilbao. The building is beautiful. Inside, I really enjoyed this one area with huge bold texts and pieces that felt super activist-like. Not sure what to call that type of art, but it was powerful and really cool to walk through. Definitely a museum that makes you stop and think while also just being an awesome place to see
Erick T — Google review
A absolutely place to come visit. Depending on what is in exhibit, you will find different tastes of art. Art with self expression was an inspiring sight. Will need around 2-4 hours to view all. The outside of the museum has more sculptures to appreciate as well as the “puppy” in o admire.
Leiby S — Google review
An absolute must-see when visit Bilbao. Outside and also the exhibition. The rooms seems to be larger than from outside. Really great! I was in the morning where it is empty! I didn't use any guide or smartphone. For me art need to touch you, or not. Any description can not cover this. Art is the moment where You are touched ♥️. But also CRcodes are available to scan. Entrance fee is 18€, which is full ok. You can directly go- no need to prebook in September. The museum has 3floors with good signs and directions. I spend 2hours. This time is ok, I think. I visited also the cafe, which is very good also.
R. A — Google review
It’s world-famous for a reason! I am in no way well-versed in art but I really enjoyed all 3 floors of the museum. I appreciated the variety of media, artists, eras, and kind of art featured here. I think what made it more fun was how interactive some of them are, and some exhibitions were also larger than life. It featured both big and rising, international and local names in the industry which was a great way to highlight other people in the industry. I appreciated how organized the museum was as well. There was a Yayoi Kusama exhibition, which would normally take forever to see but they planned it very well. It was a really quick few seconds to see it but this made the line go faster and didn’t hold up anyone who wanted to see it. The featured artist at that time was also very talented and fun to see! Lots of interactive and dynamic art featured that changed the experience for the viewer every room we visited. We also didn’t buy tickets ahead and I really thought we missed our chance, but the museum allotted tickets for walk-in visitors. The line went so fast as well which we appreciated a lot. So it was a very pleasant experience!!
Kim M — Google review
Spectacular treat just to view it from the outside. We went in the doors and explored the lobby gift shop and absolutely incredible short video they provide for free. Just this and the outside art could be enough for you? We didn’t have enough time to explore further, but we’re in awe of what we did see and architecture. They were replanting the flower dog in early October.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao – An Architectural and Artistic Masterpiece As photographers for Photolator, visiting the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao was a feast for the eyes and the lens. Designed by Frank Gehry, this world-renowned museum is as much a work of art as the masterpieces it houses. Its sweeping titanium curves, shimmering in the sunlight, change character with the time of day, offering endless photographic possibilities from every angle. The surrounding area adds to the magic — from the playful “Puppy” flower sculpture to the striking riverside setting, each step offers a new composition. Inside, the museum’s spacious, light-filled galleries are home to exceptional contemporary art, thoughtfully displayed to inspire both art lovers and photographers alike. Service is impeccable, the layout is intuitive, and the atmosphere encourages both contemplation and creativity. For photographers, the Guggenheim is not just a cultural stop, but a dynamic canvas where light, form, and art converge. For Photolator, it stands as a prime example of architecture and art harmonizing to create an unforgettable visual experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, Hotel ILUNION San Mamés is a contemporary haven that offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience. Guests can enjoy air-conditioned rooms with some boasting stunning city views, alongside cozy interiors that create a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel features a shared lounge, free WiFi, and an inviting terrace for relaxation. A highlight is the restaurant serving delectable Spanish cuisine, perfect for indulging after a day of exploration.
First of all a big thank you and a special mention to three people from the staff. The receptionist who welcomed us, that I unfortunately didn't get the name. He spent a lot of time with us, giving us tips, insights about the best places to go, how to move around, etc. Making us feel welcome since the very beginning. Then Mari Mar from the restaurant. She is genuinely so nice, so attentive and so friendly that made us want to go back to have dinner there, instead of going outside the hotel. Yasemil, cleaning our room was also very professional and kind. People are what make every experience memorable, so I had to start with that. Some others things we also really enjoyed: - the hotels compromise with sustainability. Aside from the garbage bags, nothing was made of plastic (including the room cards, the amenities, and the courtesy water cans in the room! Amazing). - very quiet, clean and welcoming atmosphere. - nice location, super close to all the public transportation systems (bus, metro, tranvia - and it's so affordable to use public transportation in Bilbao - kudos). - the restaurant serves nice dinner at a very reasonable price. - the breakfast is quite okay. Not a huge variety, but just the right amount. So overall, it was a very nice stay and I highly recommend the hotel.

We’ve stayed here before and once again had a fantastic experience. At the reception we were warmly and professionally welcomed by Juan – truly a star! The rooms were clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was also well taken care of. Overall, an excellent stay!

I stayed at Illunion San Mamés three times during Manchester United’s Europa League campaign in March, April and May 2025, and each visit was excellent. The facilities are modern, comfortable, and always spotless – a perfect base when travelling for football and exploring Bilbao. The location is also ideal, with great transport links and easy access to the city. A special mention goes to Aritz at reception, who was incredibly helpful on all three occasions. His professionalism, friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile really made my stays even better. As someone visiting from the UK, I felt very welcome and well looked after every time. I would highly recommend Illunion San Mamés to anyone visiting Bilbao, whether for football, business, or leisure.

Excellent, modern hotel in downtown Bilbao, walking distance to the Old Town. Beautiful room, very quiet, comfortable bed, pillows, great shower, and most important, a warm welcome from the over worked receptionist Maria Gonzalas. She was alone as we lined up, thephi e ringing, but she handled it so politely, never flustered. She spoke excellent English, and gave great recommendations for food. Great value for the money.
Penny L — Google review
Everything is perfect, from reception staff to hotel room. But there is one big point that needs improvement: the cleanliness of plates, glasses etc. at the buffet!!! Really wasn't nice to see leftovers on clean plates, liptstick and orange juice stains on glasses. Also, no fresh croissant or other sweets - all they had was defrosted donuts and muffins.
Sophia R — Google review
When you walk in you're greeted with a large LED screen of calming waves and a feeling of luxury... It's all down hill from there really. Whilst the hotels focus seems to be focused on being modern and projecting a luxury look they forget about the basics. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable with thin pillows. Towels are way past their life being thin, scratchy and fail to dry any moisture. Whilst the rooms have two televisions (for reasons) the "smart" thermostat only allows a minimum temperature of 23c. It's maybe time to focus less on the flashy stuff and focus on providing guests with a decent night of sleep.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Ilunion San Mamés in Bilbao and were very pleased with our experience. Even before our arrival, the customer service stood out: we received a quick and clear reply to our email asking about the best place to park, which saved us time and hassle when we got there. The welcome and check-in were particularly pleasant. The receptionist – whose name I unfortunately didn’t ask – was extremely friendly and clearly did his very best to make us feel at home. Thank you for the warm welcome! Our room wasn’t very large, but it was modern, well-designed, and had everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a wide variety. On simple request, eggs were freshly prepared to our liking – a nice touch we truly appreciated. In terms of location, the hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the city center. For those who prefer not to walk, there are excellent public transport options nearby. Bus, tram, metro, and even the city tour train are all just a short walk away. In short, Hotel Ilunion San Mamés is a great base for visiting Bilbao. We would warmly recommend it! Ivan

This was a fantastic place to stay in Bilbao. It's a great location. You are right by a metro station, a tram station, and a bus station. Plus Bilbao is incredibly walkable. Our room was quite comfortable and included a small desk. There is also a co-working space. The staff are helpful and friendly. But do note that staff is only at the desk from 14:00 to 6:00. So in the morning and early afternoon you won't find them there. Everything is handled with a four digit code so you don't need to carry a key.

I booked at that property to the last minute, something nearby the shuttle station due to my flight delay. Super lovely and helpful staff. Modern and functional room, really comfy bed. Downsides: Very poor lighting in the room, lack of clothes hooks especially for longs, coats… and the big downside was the water pump noise at night. Overall, okay value for money.
Alexa — Google review
To start with the positives, the location is perfect for bus travel, and the co-working area and luggage storage are superb. Unfortunately, that's where the good points end. Everything else was quite poor, starting with the hotel's unusual reception on the first floor that feels like walking into someone's living room. The check-in procedure felt unprofessional: the receptionist manually typed my full credit card details into their computer rather than using a secure payment terminal. This felt fishy, and I can only hope they will delete the data as promised. The disappointment culminated in the room, which was a pale imitation of what was advertised. It felt dated and all the finishing touches shown in the promotional photos were absent. The walls were covered in scuff marks, the noise isolation was extremely poor, the light next to the bed was an unpleasant bright white, there was an unpleasant smell from the shower drain, and the television did not work at all during my stay. The whole experience gave the impression of a business running on a single past investment, with no further effort made to maintain standards. The value for the price paid was exceptionally low. I would not return and cannot recommend this place.
Petr V — Google review
Honestly the room is nice, the bed was comfortable, the linens and towels were of good quality and the location is great being right across the street from the train station. It was nice to have a mini fridge, a kettle and coffee in the room. There are a couple of things that we didn’t like. There are no city views. Our room had 3 windows that all faced the inside building and because you’re in a local apartment it’s noisy and everyone has their laundry hanging outside their windows, that’s your view. Overall it was a fine place to stay but I would not stay here again because of that.

It Is located in a bad building all the rooms and the reception have double curtains to cover the view...there's no sun light and air...they give you too many codes to access. To take the elevator you have to go upstairs because Is not on the ground floor. No breakfast too expensive

Nestled in the heart of Bilbao's Old Town, Hotel Tayko Bilbao is a stunning blend of history and modernity. This chic boutique hotel, housed in a beautifully transformed 1924 building, offers guests an industrial yet stylish atmosphere with exposed concrete and brick walls. With 53 air-conditioned rooms that boast breathtaking views of the estuary and nearby landmarks like Plaza Nueva and Mercado de la Ribera Market, it’s perfect for both romantic getaways and solo adventures.
Hotel Tayko Bilbao is a wonderful modern hotel in the heart of the old city centre of Bilbao. The location serves as a great starting point to restaurants and all important places to see in the centre, as well as being relatively close to the highway. They don't have parking on site but they do have their own paid parking garage a couple of meters away across the bridge which was very useful. Our complements to the hotel staff which was one of the most professional we've ever seen - they all spoke perfect english, were polite, always said hello and always ready to help (they even accommodated us with an early check-in). The rooms were modern and well equipped. For breakfast you have the option to order one main course, one juice, one coffee, one fruit and one dessert. The quality was great and the presentation was amazing as well although the portions were on the smaller side. A plus is that they have vegan options (a quite big wrap).

Wow! The interior of this hotel is amazing. Stained glass and original factory walls. It also has a michelin starred restaurant ( above our budget!) but we enjoyed superb breakfasts. Staff were very kind and friendly. It's a few steps from some excellent pinxtos bars in the Old Town. Bilbao itself is a wonderful city. Loved our time here.

Very helpful staff. Really cool building, comfortable room with l’occitane products in bathroom. Nice touches with hand written note from housekeeping with chocolates and welcome cava at check in and free drink and pinchos in the bar. Don’t miss breakfast - high quality local ingredients. If you are visiting Bibao, Spain and looking for an excellent hotel, look no more. We were simply charmed by this awe-inspiring hotel. It was quite fascinating to see how priceless old world remnants were entwined with comfortable modern spaces. When you first enter the grand archway and pass through the heavy wooden doors, you step into an enduring, yet flawless world. Exposed limestone walls, aged concrete beams and weathered stained glass windows can all be viewed from the glass elevators as you are whisked away to your comfy, immaculate room. Notably, the hotel receptionist was amazing. She was very pleasant, kind and accommodating. She sympathetically told us that we had accidentally made reservations for the wrong dates through an online booking site. Moreover, she wasn’t sure if we would be reimbursed, but assured us that the issue would be resolved by the next day. As our anxiety started to rise, she nonchalantly, with a big smile, handed us a glass of champagne and worked on finding us an open room for the night. Her mañana philosophy was incredibly soothing. Not only did this lovely lady upgrade our room, but as promised our future booking was cancelled and refunded. Ultimately, the exceptional customer service, the spotless comfortable rooms enhanced our experience in Bilbao.
Marisa K — Google review
Great Location, Decent Stay with a Few Drawbacks The hotel is in a fantastic location, making it a convenient choice for exploring the area. However, parking can be a bit of a hassle since it’s not directly at the hotel. The rooms are quite basic in terms of decor, and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable. A word of advice—don’t open the windows at night unless you want to battle a swarm of mosquitoes! Breakfast is €25 per person, and while that’s not cheap, the food is actually pretty good. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff is friendly, which made for a pleasant start to the day. One of the highlights was the lounge on the upper level—it had a cool vibe and was a great place to relax. What truly makes this hotel stand out is the staff. They were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Their warmth and hospitality added a special touch to the experience. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for its location and service, even if the rooms are quite basic.

Additionally, the central location provides easy access to the city's attractions and amenities.
Basic clean room with all you could need...kettle, fridge, hairdryer. Super location in middle of town. 5 min walk to Guggenheim. They held onto our luggage for an afternoon flight. Bus for airport around the corner.
Anu C — Google review
The apartments are in an excellent location, close to the city center and the shopping area. They are located on the street where the bus to the airport goes, which is particularly convenient. Since it is a group of apartments spread over two floors of the building, there is a reception desk and a luggage room where you can leave your things after leaving the apartment until you go to the airport. The reception is open all day until 10PM. Cleaning and refilling coffee and tea is a regular activity. Rooms facing the street are much better than those facing the interior of the building, i.e. the wall. The rooms are well equipped, they have a kettle, coffee, tea, mini fridge, hairdryer and safe. The bathroom is great. The downside is that the apartments are quite small and there is a lack of space. There is only one chair and the apartment was for two. The bathroom is separated from the room only by a glass wall. The glass is not completely transparent, but everything that is done in the bathroom can be heard and partially seen, which is often unpleasant. The staff is pleasant and helpful.
Zoran J — Google review
The location is very good, however the hotel is very noisy. You can hear all the neighbours and the staff. The room is basic and bathroom could be cleaner. The hairdryer was so old that it broke in our hands. We got another one (equally old) and it smelt like burn hair while drying. The bed was quite ok, temperature was comfortable.
Sylwia G — Google review
Absolutely awful, bedbugs ate us alive. The receptionist lives behind reception in a room, the smell is disgusting. We called him at 4am letting him know about the bedbugs (we caught two and killed them) and he suggested to give us new sheets as he didn't have any spare rooms left. He said this was something common and normal, probably we had only two, as he could not see anymore, and as we killed them, we should change the sheets and go to sleep. He refused to give us any compensation, our money back for the night, refuse to find us another accommodation and he didn't even want to give us a claim sheet. Obviously we have left at 5 am in the morning and I will write a formal complain to the Spanish consumer department.

a great place and very close to the train station i stayed here 15th - 18th april
Pedro M — Google review
We booked for a 3 night stay. Without a doubt the worst place I have ever stayed. The room was incredibly hot. The beds were clean and comfortable but certainly bore no resemblance to the pictures on line. The bathroom was clean but had no proper lock. As it was shared this was a problem. On our first morning the door was locked and we could not get out of the property. At night the smell of the bins in the street was awful as was the noise. We left the property a day early as it was unbearable. By this time I had many bites from sleeping with windows open. No AC and no netting. The booking agency have tried very hard to contact the premises to discuss. No one from Don Claudio responds. We moved to another hotel for a similar price and it was wonderful. Very disappointed.
Julie M — Google review
The quality of the room and bathroom was very good for the price. The room was clean so was the bathroom. On a downside, the bed mattress was very uncomfortable. Also the strong lights and traffic noise coming from the street were making it difficult to sleep (No aircon so window had to be open). If you plan to use public transport, this place is a minute away from the train station from which there's a train to the city centre every 10 minutes. There is plenty of free parking around too.
Piotr L — Google review
It's a standard place, recommended if you go by car, since it's quite difficult to park you car in Bilbao and here is not that bad. The train station is really near and the train is less than 10min to the city centre. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The only problem I experienced is that the room had a smokey smell. It didn't smell that way when we got into the room the first time because all doors and windows were open, but when we arrived late at night, after all the afternoon with the room closed, the smell was there.
Norman G — Google review
The room was of good size. There is a kitchen at the property which is very convenient and free for a light breakfast. It is close to the road and the rooms can get very noisy from the road or noisy neighbors. I was a solo traveler and they gave me two single beds which made the sleep very uncomfortable. The train station is just around the hotel, very near. The reception is open only from 9am till 10pm.

The smell of mold was awful. My wife had to throw up in the morning. Room 105 is uninhabitable! Air freshener is trying to cover the stink... It only makes it worse. A room like this should not be for rent. Luckily we only stayed for 1 night.

7Kale Bed & Breakfast is a charming and down-to-earth accommodation in Bilbao, a city that has undergone a remarkable transformation. This B&B offers a continental breakfast buffet and complimentary Wi-Fi for its guests. Situated in the lively Casco Viejo area, it provides an excellent location with easy access to pintxo bars and restaurants. The soundproof windows ensure peaceful nights despite the vibrant surroundings.
Overall great place. Easy and quick to get from airport with bus/metro. Located in the old part of city with plenty of great food around. Room number 19/4th floor - spacy, comfortable bed and extra clean bathroom. Very reasonable price. Proactive and interactive service. All in all 100% reccomend and be back!

I'll start with the location. Because it is perfect. Going to the room, it looked really clean, until we came across a cockroach. The staff reaction was that it would be cleaned, knowing cockroaches it is probably still there. The walls are paper thin, I could've kept a conversation with the German girls next door or the Italian couple across the wall. Finally, the breakfast was uninspiring. Lastly, the service. Patrícia is a ghost, a non existing figure. We only met somebody at breakfast, she was friendly. She also told us that a stamp in our parking ticket would give us a discount, except that there was nobody at the parking garage, so no discount. If you want to park your car just buy it online, it's cheaper. Thank good the location is good...

Great location, nearby many bars and restaurants. Only negative thing was that the elevator did not work and you have to use stairs. But still I recomend, because booking was smooth, place is clean, climate is adjustable.
Ingvar K — Google review
I stayed here with my husband, young adult son & daughter for 4 nights. Excellent location in Casco Viejo with everything just a few feet away. Pintxo bars on a he street below. The street is very lively at night but the windows are amazingly soundproof. We stayed on the 4th floor in the Carolina suite: 2 bedrooms: First room: a king size that can be split into 2 twins Second room: 2 twins that can pushed together or further apart. Living room has a sofa bed which we did not use. Kitchenette is practical. We enjoyed going to local cafes in the morning for coffees & breakfast which were just around the corner. The room is very clean and neat with TVs in each room. Free WiFi. Check in was very easy I received an email with codes for the main entrance and for the 4th Floor where my room keys were waiting on a tray. I highly recommend 7Kale for its great location and wonderful room that has everything we needed.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment Catalina on 4th floor in July 2023. The location is probably the best in Bilbao. With literally hundreds of pintxo bars and restaurants nearby and in walking distance to Guggenheim and other sights along the river. The flat has aircon - easy to use and efficient. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom and a livingroom with a small kitchen and a table for 4. Acess to the apartment is guided through mail - we needed no help checking in late. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Value for money.

I stayed here around Christmas time. The rooms are clean but very small and basic. The area is lovely; old town of Bilbao. The street gets pretty loud but there is good sound proofing in the room. The WiFi was not working for the first two days we were there. Unfortunately there was nobody there to help us with it and communication on booking.com was not great. There was nobody at all during the time we were there… The air conditioning did not work great. Luckily the weather was good. I would assume though it would not be great on colder days. There is a complimentary nespresso and tea selection in the kitchen. However, you have to get water from the room.. there was no water available in the kitchen which was odd. All in all, I do not think this place good value for money..

Loved this little place which is central to many bars and restaurants. The room was good and had lovely little amenity kits left out. The bed wasn’t amazing but this was more than made up for by the service. We loved the free breakfast the next day with fresh orange juice, yogurt etc. They give a code for after hours access. I recommend this place for Bilbao trips.

We were very happy with our stay here. Great location on a busy pedestrian street in Casco Viejo at a good price. The street is loud so be ready. It got hot in the summer but we were able to get by with the provided fan. We only wish there had been a fridge in the room :)

The Bilbao Art Lodge is a guesthouse in the heart of Bilbao, offering free Wi-Fi and spacious rooms with local art. The owners are attentive and welcoming, and the location is perfect for walks to the train station and public parking garage. Highly recommended!
An absolutely amazing place to stay in Bilbao! Beautiful rooms, great location, good price.
Margarete S — Google review
The location is good, right next to the city center with great bars, but on the other side there is San Francisco district that arouses ambivalent feelings. Claustrophobic rooms, windows overlooking the walls, you have to turn on the light even on a sunny day. It's a bit scary. The staff doesn't speak a word of English.
Sebastian L — Google review
The area feels unsafe, specially by night. It’s not a Loft, it’s a very small room, and ours also had a small inner window with no light so it was a bit claustrophobic. For a night it’s fine, but try not to go around San Francisco.
Lara E — Google review
Our room did not have a duvet when we checked in. As it is not a hotel, there was no one on site who could help. We contacted the person in charge, who told us they couldn’t do anything for the night, and just asked us to use extra sheets and towels as blankets. They didn’t even sound apologetic for the mistake. We had to sleep in the cold that night. To top it off, they wouldn’t give us any partial compensation for the lack of such a basic requirement in a room, with no explanation why. Last but not least, I warned the person in charge that I would be leaving a bad review, and they blocked me from leaving a review on booking.com by lying that I did not stay at the property. Complete lack of integrity.
Janene L — Google review
This was great hotel to stay at, for the price the room was great. It’s not big but again for the price you get a bargain. I stayed in the Sope room which has a king sized bed. Location of the hotel is good. Bilbao in general is a very walkable city and trains are very close, you can get where you need to be quickly. The two cons are the bed was not comfortable for my standards and the walls are thin. Other than that if I come back to Bilbao I will stay here.
Joshua B — Google review
I had a reservation booked and tried to cancel a week before arrival, reaching out to the property, kindly providing them my situation and asking if they would refund the full amount already taken. A day later I was instructed to request through booking, where I originally made it. Did that, waited a few days with no response. Requested again through booking w/no response. Finally reached out to booking explaining the situation and at that point the only option was a partial refund. They immediately cancelled the reservation and I never received any money back. One star for the convenient silence when I repeatedly requested a refund, and for taking the entire balance for a cancellation. It's probably illegal for them to do so, but being from a different country, I unfortunately couldn't fight it. We need to put an end to these businesses taking the entire balance from a customer that cancels and now possibly profiting at least double! That's part of owning a business and it's very unfair to the customer.
J B — Google review
My room was on the first floor without a view so it was rather dim and depressing. Good if you’re the kind of traveller who doesn’t like to spend much time in the room. Bath area has no door so don’t stay with a friend unless it’s that kind of relationship. Bed was actually super comfortable and just the right level of firm, lots of great solid pillows too
Danielle L — Google review
I was initially very worried given the amount of negative reviews recently… but the general experience was good! I travelled with my 17 yo sister to Bilbao and stayed for 2 nights, we had the double room with the city view. First impressions were: loved the interior, loved the city view, loved power shower, loved the huge bed and comfy pillows. There was a mini fridge, safe and a coffee machine. Really decent area- within walking distance with the old town, market and the gran via. We didn’t feel unsafe but we did keep our guards up. Key access / codes were fair enough given the pandemic but you do wonder if the codes are changed between guests, even so, there was a lock, although we didn’t really check, I assumed it was a double lock… perhaps, if there isn’t one- Bilbao art lodge should install one… the only downside was when we entered the main property as well as the apartment, the automatic lights were slow to switch on, so can be quite dark at night. The information brochures needed replenishing. In a sense, bilbao art lodge lost some points for the personal touch/ hospitality part. In summary, we enjoyed our stay and really looked forward to the comfy bed every night.

Nestled in the vibrant city of Bilbao, just a short stroll from the Funicular de Artxanda, Bilbao Place offers a cozy retreat with air-conditioned rooms and complimentary WiFi. This charming hostel-style accommodation boasts serene garden views and is conveniently located near the metro, making it easy to explore the city's attractions. Guests have noted its cleanliness and recent renovations, although some quirky blue lights might catch your eye.
Nice accommodations, very clean and well placed! To comeback!

Stay Away!!! They can take your belongings without your permission. I booked this place through Agoda and provided my credit card information. On the first day, I told the staff that the transaction was not complete and offered my credit card, saying, “Here, take the payment.” She replied that she didn’t know how to use the credit card machine and that we could handle it later (she barely spoke English, which made communication very difficult). Later, they took my luggage, backpack, passport, and all my personal belongings from my room without my permission. I immediately called the police (around midnight). The police retrieved my things and opened a case against them. Never, never, never go there!
Burak B — Google review
I’ve booked a room with my girlfriend for 90€, they gave us a “suite”, as they said. It was under construction with cables and tubes out of the wall, a mirror which was on the floor, dirty on the ground and on the desk close to the bed, some holes in the ceiling and the walls still to be painted. There were no windows so it was also completely dark. We went back to talk to the receptionist who decided to give us another room, that was very small, a bit dirty, without towels and a tiny windows, but they said to don’t open it. Too much expensive for what they have offered to us, but anyhow it has a good position to the center, so I don’t recommend the place unless you don’t find other places
Riccardo S — Google review
SCAM, avoid it. Worst experience ever!!! This is a scam. The reception is not opened until late afternoon, or whenever they want, afterwards if you try to call them. They shut down the phone. And then, you find yourself at the reception with luggage waiting for the worms to eat you or whatsoever, no refund no phone no nothing!!!
Leonardo D — Google review
(Translated by Google) As soon as you walk in, you find an employee lying on the reception couch on her cell phone. At first glance, the image doesn't seem very good, but that's not the worst part. Once we got to our room, they gave us the worst room of all: a claustrophobic room with a window that didn't let in light and overlooked an interior courtyard... We asked if we could be moved, and I don't know what was worse... They put us in a room that did have a window facing the street, but the air conditioning didn't work properly (unfortunately, we went during a heat wave in Bilbao); the lights above the bed didn't work, there were many switches that didn't turn anything on or off, and the single-control shower had a rain effect, not because it was installed, but because the water came out through the joint of the shower head. Finally, there's practically no one at reception; if you needed anything, there was no one there. In fact, when you leave, you just drop your keys in a mailbox and leave. In short, it's like the Temu ads, what you see and what you get.

(Translated by Google) Well, it's more of a guesthouse than a hotel. They give you the keys after 12 and you leave them in the mailbox when you leave if they're not there. The cleanliness is quite good, so we have no complaints about that, but the air conditioning, they told us, had just broken the day before, what a coincidence. And the TV is outdated, you can't connect your mobile to it to watch your things. The water that comes out of the bath and shower isn't even warm, it's almost cold. If you're looking for something cheap just to sleep in, it's fine.

All round great value. A great location in the centre of old town, walking distance to all the major attractions. The staff were very welcoming, and whilst not expected, being able to converse in English was welcome after a long journey. The room itself was very clean, with a good bed and good modern bathroom facilities. Despite being in old town, the room was quiet and we were able to sleep well. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

The air conditioner in the room kept making a very loud noise every 10-20 minutes overnight despite being turned off. We were unable to sleep, especially my pregnant wife, because of the noise. This was really disruptive to our trip. We recorded a video of this and sent it to the hotel and were told it was normal working of the air-conditioner, even though it was clearly off and making a loud sound. We were not offered an apology by the management, let alone any compensation, despite having paid a fair amount for our stay where we could hardly sleep. Overall this was really disappointing treatment and I would recommend staying elsewhere to ensure you can actually get some sleep.

Very clean room and spacious, didn't get to use the kitchen but it was automatically controlled once opened the door the extractor in the kitchen would turn on, I was so impressed! Well equipped, and there are laundry machine and dryer too. Bus ride to centre takes about 10-15 mins. Free parking space 5 mins drive. Will use again if return to Bilbao!

everything was new and clean and as a female solo-traveler i felt safe there and in the neighborhood as well, so that's definitely a plus. even though it's not located in the city centre, it was easy and fast to get there via train or bus (barik card highly recommended). you could hear everything from the neighbors and the hallway but i guess for the price it was fine and the other guests weren't too loud. the only thing that bothered me was that you have no chance of even asking if it's possible to leave your luggage there before check-in since there's no staff present and (at least for me) the door code didn't work before 3pm so you just have to carry your stuff around until then.
Leona — Google review
This place was clean and well-maintained providing a comfortable experience. However, it's worth noting that it's not centrally located, something i overlooked when booking. Luckily, a bus stop just 2 minutes away, although remember that Bilbao doesn't have late night buses. They offered a contactless entry and had no staff inside, but they were highly responsive to messages. The rooms were cleaned daily, but towels were changed only every three days, so keep that in mind. Overall, it's a solid option for a clean stay, just factor in the location when booking!

(Translated by Google) I have had a very positive experience at this hotel. Modern, well-equipped, clean and surprisingly cheap. I have rarely slept for less than €50 in Bilbao in a single room and here they charged me what they normally ask for a bunk bed in a 10-bed room, it must be that I had caught an offer without realizing it, let's see how much they are going to ask me for on my next visit, at the moment it is in my favorites. Parking in the area is difficult.

(Translated by Google) I booked here on the recommendation of an acquaintance, his experience was satisfactory, but in my case it was not; I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days, the cleaning was terrible, under the bed there was a lot of lint and around the entire room, which if cleaned every day should be impeccable, the mattress was super uncomfortable to rest on. The bathroom was organized, but it was as if it had not been cleaned. The customer service was horrible, the first day I arrived I had not checked in for which they gave me the password, but if I had done the fast check that appears in the application then I thought it was already solved. When he sent me a message he thought it had been a mistake and I didn't pay attention to it. When I called and asked why we couldn't enter, a girl answered me rudely and raising her voice at me when we saw ourselves in that situation, we quickly hung up. I will definitely not return to this place, nor do I recommend it.

(Translated by Google) The place smells very good. At the entrance it is not necessary to talk to anyone, which is a big plus... you simply put the reservation code on a small screen on the door and it opens automatically, the same thing happens in the rooms. It has a TV with Netflix and YouTube, a clothes rack, a table + chair, a refrigerator (empty) and a nightstand on each side of the bed (double). Downstairs there is a kitchen to share, but the truth is that we prefer to eat out or order food and eat it in the room. What the room lacks to be 5 stars is that you can smoke during your stay in the room, at least on the balcony. The bathroom is perfect, it has clean towels, shower gel and a hairdryer. The area is quite quiet, not in the center of Bilbao, but it is a good location. We will repeat! Repetiremos!

The place is nice, the room and bed are very generously sized (a very comfortable bed with a pillow and cushion), and everything is clean. Very well equipped with a refrigerator, air conditioning, and a large TV. Plenty of power outlets (something that seems like a joke, but hotels are increasingly limiting them). And a large, well-equipped, and modern bathroom. I think it's a great place and I'll definitely be back. I also had to call them about a small detail, and not only did they not answer on the first ring, but they were very friendly and resolved the issue immediately. It's rare to go on a trip and be pleased to find places like this for this price. I'll definitely be back. (Original) Sinceramente un gran descubrimiento. He quedado muy muy sorprendido. Tambien tuve que llamarles por un detalle y no solo no me cogieron al primer tono sini que fueron muy amables y me resolvieron el problema al instante. Perfect location on the old town square. Close to bars, the metro, the river walk to the Guggenheim (20 minutes away) A very comfortable room with a boutique feel. Loved the balcony overlooking the street. Our only slight niggle was the issue with not being able to leave luggage before 12 noon, or to collect them on our last day after 5pm. This Pension is in a great location to explore the sights of Bilbao. It's in the heart of the vibrant old town area which is lively from lunchtime through the night. Would recommend bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper though with the balcony doors closed it was reasonably quiet in our room. Access is simple and the room was quaintly decorated. A great place to stay for the price we paid.

Wow great little spot to enjoy Bilbao! Clean rooms, contactless check in, and a great view of the neighborhood. Honestly have no complaints-would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city (especially by train since it’s only a short walk to the station).

Easy online check-in. Pension could not have been in a more convenient area. Others have complained about the noise, but what do you expect being so close to everything. With the windows closed we were able to sleep well. The room was clean, the water pressure was good, and the bed was excellent.
Irene H — Google review
The room was very pretty but unfortunately there was a lot of noise coming from outside as the windows aren't sound proof. Also, the curtains aren't blackout curtains so the street light was coming into my eyes as I tried to sleep. Finally, the heating wasn't working so I froze all night and couldn't sleep. Unfortunately, there was no reception available to ask for help after 10pm.
Diran G — Google review
Terrible entrance that makes you doubt and triple check if you are actually getting into the right place. That entrance needs to be nicer, cleaner, better. It brings a very bad vibe. But the worst without a doubt is the level of noise. There’s no way you can sleep with this noise. You are right next to a very popular square (aplaza Nueva) and there’s people all night passing by and shouting. If you can sleep in a concert then stay, if not, go somewhere else.

I stayed at Lo Bilbao for 5 nights, right in the middle of the Bilbao Festival. This place is in a lovely square in the beautiful Old City, with plenty of food options. It's a 20 minute or so very pkeasant walk along the river to the Guggenheim Museum. I had the only single room. It is small and has no windows, but the no windows turned out to be a plus as I could barely hear the noise of the festivities. And there was plenty of noise! The room is very clean. The only negative is that the wifi cut out regularly.

They have capsule coffee in the hall to start the morning before you leave. I really liked the way of entry, since you access the room by codes and a digital key, it doesn't matter what time you arrive! (Translated by Google) The pension is very good, although the cleaning of the sheets and towels could be a little better since they had makeup stains and other stains from previous use, as well as the walls that have some stains, which could be cleaned with a cloth. We arrived and the room smelled a lot of cigarettes from the previous tenant, I imagine, which is not the fault of the pension, but in the end we got the smell for three days and it didn't go away even with air freshener. I repeat that it is not the fault of the place, but it is something that diminished our experience as soon as we opened the door to the room, since it is a smell that those of us who do not smoke do not like at all, as we all know. The room is quite good for the price and has access to the metro in 5-7 minutes walk. The Teatro Campos Elíseos Antzokia, located in Bilbao, is a stunning example of art nouveau architecture. Designed by local architect Alfredo Acebal and French decorator Jean Batiste Darroguy, the theater's exterior features a prominent arch with rich art nouveau decorations. It has become an integral part of Bilbao's cultural scene, offering a blend of classic and modern facilities for various performances.
It was my first time in this theatre to watch Viana with my son and we just enjoyed it so much. He loved every second of the show and the place has a very nice seating area.
R — Google review
The theatre is beautiful. It's small and a great option with a variety of shows for families and children. Sadly I was disappointed with the customer service as although we were told when we called that they open the doors at 11.30 at 11.35 we were still standing in the rain with small children and to make matters worse a worker from the theatre came out to rudely tell us that the whole queue was queuing in front of the exit door thus blocking it. She was extremely rude and proceeded to enter slamming the door leaving us in the rain feeling quite annoyed. It was a birthday present for my daughter and although the performance was lovely and we enjoyed it these small things really give a bad impression to the customer. If you work with the public you should mind the way you behave or do another job.

Lovely find. Location is walking distance to old town. But the local vicinity has a number of nice places to eat and drink. Be prepared, as walk into town is down hill. But walk back is via number of steep uphill routes. Hotel was clean, staff very friendly and accomodating. Served some nice food. Outdoor pool was clean and very welcome on the hot days. Parking, roughly 20 euros a day and plenty of spaces. Would highly recommend.

Not worth the price. Had better service and value from ibis budget. Do not recommend. Save yourself the money and the effort book somewhere else. Booked double room got twin bed. No welcome or acknowledgement upon arrival at reception. Pool was closed and it was not mentioned anywhere once we had booked (we booked there specifically for the pool....) Cleanliness is not up to the 4 star standard they aspire to be. Service is fine, but for 150€/night it's a joke.

We had breakfast both mornings and it was very tasty and well prepared. There is a gym attached to the Hotel which we chose to avoid. The Hotel is in a fantastic location. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, the Catalonia Gran Vía Bilbao is a chic four-star hotel that opened its doors in March 2021. Just a stone's throw from the lush Parque de Dona Casilda de Iturrizar and only 600 meters from San Mames Metro Station, this stylish retreat offers an array of modern amenities designed for comfort and relaxation.
Loved this hotel! 1 night stay elsewhere close by then 2 nights here. No comparison. Hotel Catalonia is excellent. Loved the room (it’s not vanilla like many other hotels), full of features and functionality, great amenities and comfort. The hotel itself was excellent too. A charming lounge/ lobby/bar on reception side and dining plus outdoor terrace on the other. Lower ground floor spa & wellness centre was a wonderful surprise. If you have time (and your bathers) an hour package to use the heated pool, the Vichy sower, steam room and sauna is just 19 Euro. Well worth it after long days of travel or walking. The location was good and Bilbao is very easy for walking around. There’s a Bilbao City View bus stop very close by. Here’s my tip. Flag them down. You can be standing at the red sign and still they will ignore you unless you wave them. Crazy but true!

Outstanding and first to mention is the friendliness of the hotel team, at the reception as well as at the restaurant. The room was very clean, bath room with a spacious shower and a terrace with a nice view and sun in the evening. Breakfast buffet was also very good, including a cooking station for fresh eggs. At rush hour times the breakfast room can get a little bit noisy, but the outside area is calm and quite with only a few people, guess most folks are afraid of the additional steps to walk to the buffet. :) The rooftop pool is pretty small, only a handful of sun beds, The hotel is easy to reach by car, the Guggenheim Museum is just a few minutes tom walk, the old town about 30 minutes. The entrance to the garage is very tight, but manageable, even with a bigger car. Once you made it in, the parking spots are quite spacious.
Alex M — Google review
Perfect location and very nice hotel even though I wouldn't call it the most modern. The room was very big, nicely equipped, very clean, and comfortable. Every receptionist we spoke to was incredibly arranging, helpful and nice. The breakfast buffet is sincerely one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel, however the dinner offer was a little bit disappointing and expensive. The spa is small but very cosy and has all the necessary facilities. The masseuse is very professional, sweet and welcoming. The swimming pool on the rooftop however is very much advertised on the hotel's pictures, but it's actually very very small.
Anja D — Google review
Classic Catalonia style and quality. Great staff. Very complete and good breakfast. Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. The spa is also very nice. Not very big, but an hour can pass faster than expected. It's a walk to the old town... But a nice one no matter which way you go.

Lovely welcome from the reception team who gave us a map and suggestions as to where to visit. The hotel was located on one of the main streets close to the river which was an ideal starting point for exploring the city. The room was spacious, clean and everything worked. Best of all was probably the breakfast, a great selection of fresh fruit and plenty of hot and cold options. The Spa was extra but reasonable and a great way to relax after walking round the sights. We've used this chain before and will do so again.
Anthony Q — Google review
We loved our stay here. We will definitely stay here again. Room - The room had a small balcony that overlooked the hotel's enclosed patio space so it was very quiet at night. The shower was phenomenal. We didn't hear anything from other rooms or hallways when we were in our room. AC - Has a usable AC. We've stayed at 2 other hotels in Spain (different cities) that list AC but it's been unusable. Breakfast - The breakfast buffet had a lot of options which we really appreciated. The fruit, yogurt, and granola selections were our favorite. Also the croughnuts. Staff - The staff was all professional and helpful. We had already figured out transportation to the bus station but they offered to help us get a cab at checkout which I found thoughtful. Area - There is a very nice park across the street that was lovely to walk around. There are a ton of shops and restaurants within an easy walking distance.

Really nice stay at this relatively new hotel. Staff were all young, extremely friendly and helpful. Room a very good standard, balcony a nice touch although the view is only of the courtyard. Super breakfast. Lovely rooftop terrace with a shallow pool and views to the hills. 15 minute walk to Guggenheim, 25 minute stroll to old town. Definitely recommend a stay here.

We had a fantastic stay! Patricia was so warm and welcoming when she checked us in — such a lovely first impression. On our last day, David took great care of us and made sure everything was perfect before we left. The hotel itself is incredibly comfortable: the beds are excellent, the AC works really well (a huge plus in the summer!), and everything was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend staying here — it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Although the hotel is getting on in years, it sparkles with cleanliness. Both - the floor staff and the receptionists - are extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I also confirm previous reviews - the hotel is in an excellent location for those who want to explore Bilbao and the surrounding areas. Our room (superior double room with balcony) was spacious and bright, and the bathroom was also extremely comfortable. The only thing we missed were glasses that could be used for water/drinks. It was a real pleasure to stay in this very comfortable hotel located in an ideal vicinity next to the footbridge over the river. I can't recommend this hotel. When we arrived there was only one lady on reception and we had to wait 10 minutes to check in. When we got to our room we noticed a nasty smell (like sick). We asked the lady on reception to check and she changed the sheets which helped. However, because she was the only person on duty, others who arrived had to wait 15 minutes. The lady was very helpful, but I can't believe there was no one else available. The hotel is also very noisy and echoey. Getting to sleep was very difficult as a result. We only booked this hotel because another (excellent) hotel we stayed at just a hundred metres or so away was fully booked. I would not stay here again.

The room is perfectly located nearby Guggenheim and casco viejo. The staff were nice and polite. The room, although 22 sq m in size feels stuffy. Maybe of the interior? Dark cabinets, no view, warm room, cannot regulate the temperature (we asked to turn off the warmer, but was not done, so we opted to open the window ). No mini ref a disappointment, but you can ask the receptionist to store the food (a bit of a hassle). the smell from the bathroom. Ufff. It was modern but it smelled sewage. Tv was old model, cant connect your netflix/ youtube. Good space for your clothes, and has a safe. Watercooker, and iron upon request.

Poshtel Bilbao is a unique accommodation that combines the luxury of a boutique hotel with the social atmosphere of a hostel. Located in the vibrant heart of Bilbao, it offers stylish and sophisticated surroundings within walking distance of major cultural attractions. The posh hostel provides clean and secure rooms, some with private bathrooms, and access is granted only with a key card. With its serene decor and cozy bunk beds, it creates a warm and inviting ambiance for travelers to connect with people from around the world.
Calling it posh is a bit of a misnomer. In my opinion nothing differentiates it from a normal hostel. For a standard hostel it is good with an excellent location, friendly service and good rooms and a kitchen
Michael Y — Google review
I neither got what was advertised nor what I expected for the price. The sauna is the only thing that might elevate this hostel above hostels I've been to - for half to two thirds of the price mind you - but it is in maintenance currently (I could not find any information on that on the web). The bedroom is worse than in many of the hostels for half the price I mentioned - from the looks but it also does not have the beds made, no power sockets, just one hidden USB plug, and no curtains in front of the bed. There is one bath for 14 people and it is very tight. The kitchen is average for a kitchen that doesn't only consist of a microwave. The receptionist does not speak English and there is a digital Check-in/out that is so badly executed that help is needed. Bilbao is also not amongst the nicest cities I've been to on this vacation. It has car-centric infrastructure and not many nice public places. I would only recommend coming here if you have events to attend or friends to meet and every other hostel and cheap hotel is booked out. When looking through the reviews I notice that the admins welcome positive feedback for the restaurant while saying to negative feedback that this is not the place to give this feedback (even though this hostel advertises with the restaurant). This makes it hard for me to trust their comments (also many of the promises that things are usually better are just wrong or I have very unlucky timing)

I booked while doing the camino. Good location but there was a group of young people making noise in the corridor and floor above until 4am. They were shouting and moving things around on the floor. The group had reserves the downstairs living room area ans they were very loud. When you walk 30km in the day, you just want to sleep at the end of the day. The beds were not comfortable and had no intimacy. There was no air in the room. The curtain shower dripped in the whole bathroom anytime someone took a shower. No information was given at the checkin (made through digital screen at entrance). Felt a bit impersonal. Hope this feedback can help to improve!

Worst hostel I’ve ever been to. it wasn’t clean, had to pay for towels, and if you want a locker, you need a padlock or have to buy on at 6euros. No curtains for beds. The kitchen wasn’t clean either, and the fridges were not big enough for all the people in the hostel. The one star is going to the location because it’s next to the Guggenheim museum and have nice restaurants around. Would not recommend it.

I went during the Europa league final, so certain things were probably different to the average experience. My main problem was the 12 bed dorm and my bed: 1. There were bed bugs (I live in an area with loads of mosquitoes and these bites lasted days and definitely not mosquitoes). 2. If you are going to massively overcharge (like everyone those few days) then at least get one extra person on to put on the bedsheets on. Check-in after 3pm is late. Perfectly located.

Good, nicely situated hostel with share rooms. It depends on yours cosleepers. Almost all, in my room, were unmannered. But its not a hostel mistake. Good breakfest.
Jaroslav Z — Google review
In a fancy area (5 mins from Guggenheim) looks like a hotel in the upper floors and the hostel on 1st floor (2nd for Americans cause of the whole ground floor being 0 floor thing). Stayed in a 6 bed mixed. 1 bathroom to share for everybody in the room, then 1 more bathroom in the hall for everybody in the floor to share. 1 usb (old school rectangle usb) plug at your bed. Then multiple (like 5 I think) plugs in one area in the room for all to duke it out for. Big lockers to fit a 50L bag. Buy a lock from them or bring your own lock with a medium size barrel (thickness of lock) because the thickness is what prevents the lock from being pushed in to turn to lock or unlock.

Staff is great. The guests (a lot of young people) can be somewhat inconsiderate during holidays.

Nestled in the vibrant Gran Via district, Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Via Bilbao is a luxurious urban retreat housed in a historic 1940s building. The hotel boasts chic and stylish rooms adorned with Bilbao-themed artworks and nautical blue accents. Guests can savor innovative Basque-Japanese fusion cuisine at the Michelin-starred NKO Restaurant & Bar while enjoying panoramic views of Bilbao.
We stayed with family for three days at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Vía Bilbao and had a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, the check-in process was quick and smooth. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and comfortable. The staff and service were truly helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. I would especially like to mention Pablo from the concierge team for helping us perfectly organize our tour in Bilbao. Also, a big thank you to Victoria from the SPA, who was incredibly kind and welcoming to our family. Highly recommended!

Honestly horrible experience. Yes decor is nice and location great. However, we arrived during the heat wave expecting a 5 star hotel. Yet air conditioning was not working. We were moved to two different rooms both not working and then at the end staff essentially said ' that was all they could do' and 'try closing curtain'. The rooms stayed hot and humid with temperatures around 24-25 degrees. On top of this we requested to speak to the manager who declined to contact us. Would not recommend at all. Service befitting a 3 star hotel.
Darren C — Google review
Not sure it's a 5 star hotel to be honest. I wonder are the poor staff not paid enough as a lot of them seemed unhappy and uninterested. Our room and bathroom was nice, liked the decor. DO NOT have drinks on their roof terrace, €25 for 2 normal Spanish beers plus other drinks our friends had were sooo over priced. Breakfast not amazing in any way. Made 3 attempts to ask for a hard pillow and each time i was given a soft one...it just got funny in the end. There was no complimentary water in our room either which is a basic standard in any 5 star hotel! There are so many other less expensive and nicer alternatives in the same area. I would choose differently the next time we visit the city., Sorry guys.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The property itself feels a bit dated and could definitely use some updates, especially in the facilities. The gym, for example, was quite disappointing — very limited equipment and not really in good condition. The shower in my room leaked water onto the bathroom floor every time it was used, and the toilet made quite a bit of noise, which was noticeable at night. That being said, there were still some positives. The room was clean, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping everything tidy and fresh during my stay. The general cleanliness throughout the hotel was actually quite good, which made the stay more comfortable despite the issues. Overall, I’d say it was an average experience — not bad, but not great either. With a few improvements to the maintenance and facilities, this hotel could easily be much better.
Marco M — Google review
Decent enough experience. I quite liked the spa, which was nicely set out with a good sauna. The rooftop bar and restaurant is a nice touch; we set out for our nighttime activities from here which worked well. Quite slow check in but overall good experience.
B L — Google review
A clean, elegant hotel in an ideal location in Bilbao in close proximity to everything but it’s a 5 star hotel without the 5 star service. We took 2 stars off from the rating for the bed and the air conditioning because for us they’re two crucial factors for any stay. The bed was very hard. Had we only been staying a couple of nights it wouldn’t have been as much of an issue but we were staying 7 nights so 3 nights in, we asked at reception if a mattress topper could be put on top of the mattress because both our backs were sore. The two receptionists we spoke to said they didn’t have any toppers but they would arrange for blankets to be put down on top of the mattress to make it softer but two days later, nothing had been done. We had already complained about the air conditioning three times and at that stage we only had to suffer another 2 nights so we felt uncomfortable having to raise the issue with the bed again. The air conditioning is simply unsatisfactory. We set the thermostat to 19 celsius to cool the room down quickly and we set the fan to high but the room never cooled down to a comfortable temperature. We tried leaving our second key card in the controls to allow the room to cool down and to charge our electronic devices whilst we were out of the room but each time the maids cleaned our room they took the second key card with them and the room had heated back up again. It was extremely slow to cool down in the first place, even when left on overnight - a degree or two at most. We queried why the maids kept taking the card with them. The receptionists indicated that the maids probably just forgot to put the card back after taking their own card out and they would “leave a note for them” but the next day the same thing happened. Clearly this is a cost-saving exercise to prevent electricity being used when guests are out of the room, which is ridiculous. 5 star is not budget and we paid a lot of money for our stay. For the last two days of our stay, coinciding with a 40-degree temperature warning in Bilbao, the air conditioning broke down entirely. The heat in the bedroom was unbearable and we barely slept a wink. We rang down to reception twice and they indicated their engineer was working on it and that the entire hotel was affected, not just us, as if this was sufficient justification. The room itself was well-apportioned and everything seemed very new and well-maintained. I booked in for the 2-hour treatment in the spa and the service from Sara was excellent - she was extremely attentive and the gratuity was richly deserved. The spa facilities were fairly basic - a small dipping pool with a decorative waterfall, a sauna and a handful of loungers - an hour’s use of the spa was included with my treatment and had it not been, frankly I wouldn’t have bothered, particularly since use of the spa facilities is chargeable. There are just a few other minor points that irked us but I thought we should mention them as part of our review for feedback purposes: (1) soap/shower gel dispensers not refilled (2) robes but no slippers in the room for guests intending to use the spa (3) charged €5 for a packet of crisps, which, unlike the cookies, we discovered on checkout were not complimentary. The minibar menu lists “Pringles” at €5 not a 30g packet of crisps, which is fairly extortionate (4) we could clearly hear chairs being dragged around the floor in the room immediately above ours, which woke us in the early morning (5) I was the victim of attempted robbery in the San Francisco area of Bilbao. Two youths attempted to steal the necklace from around my neck and left me with painful bruises. I asked the hotel staff if it was something that should be reported to the police and I was told that the hotel would never recommend going near that area (as if it was somehow my fault) and the police would probably just say that it is a dangerous area and my necklace wasn’t actually stolen. We left feeling tired. The Radisson Collection Bilbao did not live up to our expectations.

Surprised to see the negative reviews here as this was not our experience at all. Very comfortable rooms with a good breakfast buffet and excellent central location. The air conditioning worked very well, despite the heat wave that was tormenting much of Spain (including Bilbao). Nice bathroom and comfortable beds. Great place to rest a couple of nights during our Camino walk.

Stay away! Outrages rooms for the so called 5 star hotel. No place to stop the car infront of the hotel. Upon entering, the rooms stink of garbage. Shower is leaking everywhere, The cups were dirty, dust blobs in every corner that looks like theyve been building up for months. Noise is unbearable into the late hours. Location, although central, busy and unappealing. Toilet not flushing, tv not working properly, and saving the best for last- they do not provide water bottles. Which self respecting "5" stars hotel doesnt give guests drinking water in the room? Small flies on the beds, everything outdated, broken and simply dirty. They do not refill the toiletry kits, either. Do not stay here.

La Salve ostatua is a comfortable guest house with complimentary Wi-Fi and a shared lounge. It's situated in the centre of Bilbao, just 1.1 km from the Spanish private University of Deusto and about 2 km from Etxebarria Park. The hotel offers rooms with city or mountain views and free WiFi.
Very nice pension. Clean environment and bathroom, beds just right. At the reception they always helped.

Please do not stay in this hotel at all cost. The rooms is s*** dirty. We found used condoms under the bed and Don't like english or irish and when we ask to change rooms he told us that if we give him extra money he could change the room it was the worst hotel I've ever been to I've stayed in hostels better than that hotel
ZTR-GROUP — Google review
The room reeked of smoke upon arrival, with flies buzzing around and several dead ones scattered across the windowsill - clear signs that cleanliness is not a priority. It was obvious someone had been smoking by the open window. Finding the property at night was difficult due to confusing roads, steep hills, and felt quite unsafe. It's not suitable to people with bad knees. Once inside, things only got worse, the bright signs by the window made it nearly impossible to sleep, and the constant noise from cars/motorbikes just added to the chaos. The TV remote doesn't work unless you're standing very close. A truly miserable one-night stay please book elsewhere and spare yourself the regret. There are not any positives other than its location being closer to the Guggenheim

Very very good. The location is superb, the room and bathroom are very well maintained, and look recently refurbished.. The folks at the front desk are really good (hi guys), and there is parking right in the building. On the location, it's just across the river from the guggenheim, so super close. Go up the bridge, cross over and you're there. :-) Highly recommend this hotel.

Made a reservation at this hotel specifically for the parking. Sent an email to make a reservation to get a spot in the parking as requested cause we had stuff in our car we wanted to keep safe. It’s only when we got there that they told us no spots where available!!! Not professional. Not recommended. (Also they don’t have air conditioning and it is really hot in there !! Run!)

The Pension Arias offers basic, but clean and comfortable rooms in a convenient location close to the bus station. The service is efficient but not very friendly, and some facilities are shared among all guests.
The place is good and it's near a beautiful plaza and a near cafeteria (awesome prices and food). We haven't met any assistant or responsible neither in the check-in nor check-out time. There's a negative point, though, we can hear some noises from other rooms, but nothing that disturbed our night
Laura M — Google review
Stayed there 3 nights and did not have a good time. If you plan on getting some sort of sleep bring earplugs because when I was there, there was noise constantly coming from upstairs and around me. Bathrooms are not nice at all and the entire establishment needs a renovation. Smells funny too…
Monique Z — Google review
Wouldn't recommend the place. There's no kitchen. Like at all. At least we didn't find any signs of it. There's no check in in person, host send you codes via booking. So it was a bit tough to enter the pension, but it's because of my internet connection. Bathrooms are ok, but sometimes they were dirty. It's also quite a noisy place. On the other hand the location is good.
Władyslaw Z — Google review
Absolutely awful agree with most of the posters here. English and it’s impossible to find, the lack of staffing, not given a code in time and there are several and the Booking.com doesn’t give the actual number. Better off staying at the Ibis Budget even nearer to the bus station. Avoid this place
Collette P — Google review
I would like to recommend please avoid booking here. It’s the worst I have ever seen. We were waiting for over four hours but didn’t receive the entrance code and no one responded the telephone written on Google map or provided by Booking.com

We stay 2 night in this pensìon, we have an interesting time between 6 police man coming to expulse someone lock in the bathroom for two day. Toilet clocked 2/3 time in two days, that’s a record. Extremely noisy, upper apartment having family gathering after 23, fantastic. Aslo, I suggest to touch the floor below the bed, hopefully your hand will not get stuck there for EVER. The code of the main door changed without notice. ALSO, that place hold some escorts business I suspect, very weird Have a good staying.

Strange place, no sign on the door to find it. Self check-in was easy. Shared bathrooms are a little icky and only one power outlet in the room. Smells like old cigarettes. Bedding was fresh. Staff did nothing to intervene when our neighbours kept the entire floor awake all night partying, very disappointed with this hotel.

Very nice place, good position. I just think that 2 bathrooms are not enough, even if they are not shared with many people I believe that having at least the toilets separated would help. Other than that I'm very happy with my experience.

Really clean hostel with comfortable beds. The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walking from Old town and the city center. The service and people working there are extremely nice and helpful. Only downside is that there are 2 bars downstairs and can get a bit noisy until late but the rooms have climalit windows to sound proof a bit.

This is a great budget option in Bilbao. My double room was clean and got some afternoon sun, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the old town, as well as the Guggenheim and anywhere else you choose to stroll to. Bilbao is a very walkable city. The staff member who checked me was also friendly and helpful with maps and information about what to see in Bilbao. If ever I am in Bilbao again, I'd be happy to stay here.

Average. The photos in the website do not reflect the actual conditions of the rooms. The wooden flooring in our room was not good and making too much sound while walking. The bathrooms are cleanly maintained, though shared.

Take a leisurely stroll along the Pasarela Pedro Arrupe Zubia, a dragonfly-shaped footbridge made of Lapacho wood. Alternatively, you can explore the stunning glass walkway of the Zubizuri footbridge. For a unique experience just outside the town, visit the Vizcaya Bridge, a World Heritage Site known for its remarkable hanging gondola-type design that can transport cars and people across the river.
All the bridges along here are different. Each has their own unique look and this one with its wooden theme and many angles is great for us photographers. You can definitely spend a pleasant day, as i did, just walking down this area, back and forth across the bridges. Nice little seating areas along the way to stop as well.

Pedro Arrupe footbridge by engineer José Antonio Fernández Ordóñez and opened in 2004. Looks like a big metallic dragonfly or reptile, but when you walk through it you realise it's inner pedestrian structure is made of Lapacho wood making ir warm and inviting. It connects the Abandoibarra Walk (next to the Guggenheim Bilbao) with the Avenue of the Universities, next to Deusto University; it is dedicated to the Bilbao priest Pedro Arrupe a Jesuit who led the implementation of the Second Vatican Council, especially with regard to a faith that does justice and preferential option for the poor.

(Translated by Google) Even after proving emergency medical intervention and being banned from taking the plane, the owner refuses any form of refund, leaving me with no trip, no return, and medical costs that continue to mount. Health above all? Not for Iñaki, where only money counts. Biggest booking disappointment ever, and I've already experienced something. I read that this cowardly dog still offers substandard rooms and continues to respond to every negative review like a small aggrieved child who is kicking his feet on the ground out of helplessness, instead of finally putting his shit in order.

Over the past year, many families have found solace in their compassionate approach to therapy. One mother shares her gratitude for the center's dedicated team, highlighting how her daughter has formed a wonderful connection with them from day one. Initially apprehensive about attending sessions, her fears quickly dissipated as she discovered an engaging and nurturing environment.

(Translated by Google) I am the mother of a girl who has been going to sessions at Abra psychologists for a year. I wanted to thank the Center team for the good work they do. From the first day we have been delighted because my daughter has connected perfectly with them. At first we were very afraid that our daughter would not want to go to the sessions and it has turned out to be quite the opposite. The two psychologists who treat her, one in individual therapy, and the other in the social skills group, give her security and help her meet her challenges in a positive and optimistic way. Before arriving at his office, we were in three other psychological offices interviewing psychologists to request information. We discarded them because it seemed like a “serious” attitude that scared us, since we had never been to a psychologist and they didn't explain much to us what the therapy would consist of. From the first session, María tried to clarify our doubts, in a very friendly and professional way. It has been a great success to go to this center.

(Translated by Google) I do not recommend. We had a single session and each statement by Abra's psychologist contradicted another of his statements. That a specific treatment was necessary, to later say that it was only convenient, and after further dialogue to delve into the matter, he explained to us that he could not know if it was necessary or convenient, or anything, claiming that he still did not know the patient well. Subsequently, the psychologist offers a weekly appointment plan... Not recommended at all. When I go to the psychologist, I need to have no doubts, to be confident, to propose possible treatments and solutions, and to not change my mind every five minutes. There is a lot of inexperience. (Original) No recomiendo.
