Dinner theater
Kafe Antzokia is a cultural center housed in a former theater, dedicated to promoting Basque language and culture. It's a popular entertainment venue in Bilbao, offering music and drama performances as well as affordable drinks and meals. The multi-purpose space hosts DJ sessions, concerts, and lively parties on weekends. Located in the city center, it attracts diverse crowds throughout the day for breakfast, pintxos, and late-night revelry.
Very cool bar-club with concerts. Friendly service. Only thing: could have higher schweppes quality.
Sebastien H — Google review
Great venue. Quite a small place. We went to the excellent Im-Pulse Pink Floyd Tribute concert, 8th June 24. Price of drinks, by Bilbao standards, was quite high. Captive audience. They did not serve wine. Only bottled beer and soft drinks.
Chris H — Google review
One of the best concert halls in Bilbao, perfect for a live show. Nice menu during the day for lunch and a coffee, a cultural Basque association is backing this place. Also a milestone in the nightlife route. Sometimes you have to pay an entrance fees (Saturday nights if I'm not mistaken) but there's plenty of space inside. Music style varies a lot (Basque, rock and heavy and sometimes more popular folk and dance music) so you need to be open for different settings. All in all it's a must-go in Bilbao for either music, lunch or a drink.

Cool venue im Bilbao for a concert!
Pablo E — Google review
We went 2 times to this spot. Concert hall: 5 stars!! Great, quaint, cozy place to watch live music. Friendly bar staff. Lunch spot: not so impressed. Our appetizer was outstanding. The main meal, eh...actually the worst I had whilst traveling for a month in Spain. That's not to say it wasnt edible...just there are MUCH better places to eat at.

Spanish restaurant
Café Iruña is a historic café located in Jardines de Albia Square, near the Guggenheim in Bilbao. Built in 1903 by a renowned architect, it has been frequented by famous Basque poets and the writer-philosopher Miguel de Unamuno. The café offers classic Basque dishes such as Bacalao a la koskera and Cordero al txakoli, known for their regional flavors.
The food here is amazing but you need to be patient with the service as there are many customers and the workers could be occupied. If you order the steak, do specify how cooked you want it otherwise it could be too raw. But everything we ordered tasted amazing!!
Chanya P — Google review
Original thought it’s a total tourist trap similar to Cafe de Flore in Paris, but still went for it just because of the interior. We were amazingly surprised by the service and food quality. We had the weekend special menu and didn’t need to wait for a table at all, the restaurant started getting busier from 2pm on, so if you want to skip the queue, come early. We enjoyed the whole experience very much. There are two halls of the restaurant, we ate at the restaurant side with proper seating, if you are up for bites, the other hall offers pintxos and assume the price is even more friendly. Same good vibe and admirable interior. It is located beside a very cute park as well. Highly recommend.
H G — Google review
Ordered their set lunch. Overall food was really good. The ribs was the highlight and carrot cake was superb. The menu comes with free drinks including alcohol. A previous post from another patron mention it was free flow but it actually wasn't. They started us with a bottle of wine then after we are done, we ask for another 2 glass each and was charged for it (refer to the menu). Best ask the waiter in advance how their drinks works. Overall super good value for money considering the portion and taste

The ambiance of this place is what I did it for. Very nicely done, Basque style And I mint thee with french toast and ice cream. Many ppl were ordering the lamb skewers with bread

👍🏽👍🏽 Practically perfect in every way. The dining room is stunning, pre fixe lunch may be the best deal in Spain (€21.50 for 3 LARGE courses + unlimited drinks, including 🍷wine or 🍺beer), and the service is attentive (+ speedy if you need it to be). The front room is standing only to order small bites or drinks (it’s crowded at lunch time). Go to the dining room for the pre fixe menu. Good for singles or groups up to six without reservation for lunch (you may have to wait, but it’s well worth it!) ✅🍆Vegetarian options on pre fixe too. ✅♿️ fully wheelchair accessible entrance, dining, and bathroom. Good lighting. Not too loud. 🍅 🐟 🍰 Gazpacho was delish, as was the fish & the pork knuckle (hearty portions too!), but the highlight was dessert. The arroz con leche was the smoothest I’ve ever tasted (as we live in Mexico, birthplace of the rice pudding!) and the red berry tart was pillowy marscapone cheese topped with fresh jam—what’s not to love! I want to return to try the bruled pineapple carpaccio 🍍😋. The pre fixe menu includes the drink of your choice and that drink is unlimited (I don’t believe you can switch drinks, so choose wisely). 🍷 Rioja wine was inoffensive and paired well with the meal — waiter left me the entire bottle and I had 3 glasses, all included in the €21.50 pre fixe lunch. My wife got the beer, which was superb—so refreshing! They also offer a white wine and bottled water. Pro Tip: 🍰For pre fixe lunch menu, desserts are large enough to share and you’ll want to try them all, so if you’re here with a group, order one of each and everyone else can swap dessert for an espresso at the same price ☕️ Note to Management: your staff is superb. Helpful, polite, and speedy. Thank you 👏🏽👏🏽

Café Iruña in Bilbao impresses with its beautiful vintage atmosphere – a place full of history and charm, perfect for a relaxing break while soaking up the city’s character. The pintxos are delicious, freshly prepared, and varied. The absolute highlight: the Pincho Moruno, a tender lamb skewer, perfectly seasoned and grilled – a must-try!

This place is an absolute treat for anyone who loves pinchos. The atmosphere is welcoming. Each pincho is beautifully crafted, with creative flavor combinations that still stay true to Basque traditions.

El Globo tavern is a charming restaurant with a warm and cozy ambiance, featuring a low-lit, wood-clad dining room and a fairly large terrace space outside. The shiny bar-top offers an impressive selection of classic pintxos that tempt both locals and visitors. The place is known for its exquisite gratineed spider crab and other mini creations like marinated salmon, black pudding crusted with peanuts, and ruby red grilled tuna. The bar is always buzzing with people enjoying the delightful atmosphere.
Wow! Joan y gabby took care of us like VIP’s (nos atendieron de lo mejor). This place is a MUST! The Beef gratin with cheddar please order this one, morcilla really good and local beer La Salve Lager. I love the atmosphere of this place, spacious and clean.
Lesly C — Google review
A bit of a disappointment as all 3 of the pintxos I had were pretty unremarkable. The fried baby squid was the best but, still, nothing special. The broiled bacalao pintxos was creamy and pretty tasteless. Service was fine, but there's no inside seating and the place is just not pleasant in general (the terrace does seem nice).
Sergio B — Google review
This is a well-known local tapas bar, and you can tell it's very popular — even on Monday afternoon it was quite busy. I ordered two pintxos, but since I was sitting in the outdoor area, I had to order a main dish as well. I chose the grilled prawns with salt and a glass of Txakoli. The food was pretty good, about average for the area, but the prices were a bit higher compared to other tapas bars I've been to.
Penny — Google review
Good pintxos bar with seating options outside and a few inside. The pintxos were quite good, albeit a little more on the pricy side. Overall a good experience!
Johannes R — Google review
Recommended by a local who lives close to this place I decided to try it. If you want to sit in their small patio you have to order from the menu which is mainly full sized meals. I was told that if I wanted Pintxos or drinks I have to order at the bar. I sat down and ordered the set menu. Starter is three Pintxos followed by very well cooked tuna (no fishy smell or taste at all) and Foie gras and to finish a chocolate lava cake for desert. The server was very friendly and helpful.
Tom C — Google review
Good pintxos, they do rely on cream/béchamel quite a bit. When we went it was completely packed , lots of people passing by and bumping into you, which it’s not my favorite way to enjoy a meal and subtracted from the experience a bit. But if you don’t mind that , this will probably be one of your favorite places in Bilbao.
Alfonso A — Google review
We got the pintxos menu, and extra zamburiña and hueleva prawn portions. Food was ok but nothing was great and none really stood out, food wasn’t as well balanced as we liked.
Giovanny B — Google review
They offer a variety of pintxos with inventive flavor combinations. I highly recommend the vaca madura con trufa and chipirón gratinado. There is plenty of room for eating inside the restaurant; you can choose to stand at the bar or eat at bistro tables.

Coffee shop
Café Bar Bilbao is a lively retro cafe in the heart of Bilbao, serving up a mix of beers, coffee, and Basque tapas snacks. Established in 1911, this iconic spot offers traditional dishes like cod al pil pil and chistorra. The ingredients for their delectable offerings come from Mercado de la Ribera, which has been at the center of Bilbao's food scene since 1929.
A Bilbao institution with a lot of history. And their standards are still decently high. Not the best pinchos in the Basque Country but far from the worst we had. The grilled prawns were lovely also. Plenty of seating, and good service.
Ben Z — Google review
There are places that don’t chase trends, because they are the standard. This spot in the plaza? Pure class. No gimmicks, no fusion nonsense. Just time honored elegance: blue tiled walls that feel like they’ve seen a thousand slow afternoons, and pintxos that haven’t changed in years because they don’t need to. You sit outside with a cold beer or a glass of wine, the weight of the day slipping off your shoulders, watching the world move past in no particular hurry. This place isn’t loud about its greatness. It just is. And in a world obsessed with reinvention, that kind of quiet confidence is a beautiful thing.
Duncan — Google review
Happy to have stumbled upon this gem. The pinxos and the atmosphere is filled with authentic charm. The staff made the whole experience unforgettable, they were playful with their regulars and smiling to the travellers. Recommend for a quick bite and authentic Basquan experience
Hordur O — Google review
With a local vibe and food that doesn’t look too fancy this is a great place for a quick bite and drink. The prawn and clam pinto didn’t disappoint although it wasn’t anything to write home about. The jamon and mushroom pinto was basic but unpretentiously tasty.
Jit S — Google review
Lived the pinxtos here, absolutely delicious and fresh, order at the bar, and they bring it to the table. Can get busy. Loved the interior. Blue and looks like an institution
Patricia U — Google review
Funny story, came here and asked for a flat white (word of advice: don’t do it), and got a glass of wine. Nobody really speaks English here, but pintxos were good, and if you want a coffee ask for a coffee or a coffee with milk. Also really enjoyed their tortilla though not pictured.
Giovanny B — Google review
Had one fabulous beef check pinxto here and haunted we didn’t get more! Cool vibe, tasty drinks.

A real disappointment, stale bread slices at pintxos, even no olive oil. One of the worst in the town in terms of taste.

Back&Stage is a popular club in the heart of Bilbao, drawing in a diverse crowd throughout the week. On Thursdays and Fridays, students take over the dance area and bar, creating a youthful atmosphere. As the weekend approaches, commercial hits dominate the dance floor and attract an older audience. Since its establishment in 2013, Back&Stage has become a go-to spot for Bilbao's students. The club features two concert halls playing the latest commercial and reggaeton music.

Pub
Sir Winston Churchill Pub in Bilbao offers a cozy and familiar atmosphere with retro red carpeting and wood bannisters. The selection of rum, whiskey, and legendary gin and tonics are served with care. The pub's leather upholstery invites patrons to savor their drinks while engaging in good conversation. Even Sir Winston Churchill himself couldn't resist the allure of Bilbao during his visit, leaving a lasting impression on the locals.
Great bar in Bilboa and definitely worth a try - they have over 600 spirits - especially if you’re wanting something outside of the usual beers. Shoutout to the bar man Liher who turned my request for a tonic water (due to being pregnant) into a superb, tasty mocktail.
Jenna H — Google review
We watched the Women's World cup Rugby final here at one end of its tiny bar whilst others watched a men's S. Africa Vs Argentina rugby match at the other. A tight squeeze but well worth it to be able to watch the women's rugby whilst on holiday in Bilbao so thanks to the bar staff for that. It felt really special and welcoming even if the majority were cheering on the men, they did turn their astonished faces towards the ladies match at their half time. Perhaps they'll be converted. Hubby found the Murphy's great, he hasn't had any in ages.
Lynne F — Google review
We stayed around the corner from the pub and used it as our daily cocktail bar. The owner was the bartender and was great host. We enjoy gin and tonic and this was the place to be as they have over 250 gins alone in the 600 different liquors they have. You want a cocktail this is a good place to get one.

Very nice cocktail bar. Overwhelmed when football is on, but very welcoming to away fans as well as home supporters. Great place

Nice English pub. There is one person doing everything here. Making cocktail, serving drinking, billing customer etc. Very English feel - so you will feel you are in London or the UK. Not very crowded mostly but the place has a nice vibe. Open till very late is another plus point. You can get here easily by tram. 10 mins from San memes station

Bobby E — Google review
If a bar boasts making over 30 cocktails, wouldn't they have some kind of menu or at least a list? Cocktails are only more recently becoming popular where I live, so I was excited to venture into the Sir Winston Churchill. We went early evening, place was empty except for a few other patrons. We asked for a cocktail menu and the bartender said they didn't have one. I asked if he could recommend something or if he had a favorite. I can speak a bit of Spanish and he was speaking English. I know we are in Basque country but everywhere we had been to this point people were speaking a mixture of English and Spanish and extremely friendly. I had thought about learning a few words in the Basque language, hello, thank you...it seemed like it wasn't necessary. The Lonely Planet guidebook didn't even offer a few bits of Basque translations. So, I don't think that was the issue. My husband is Irish and spoke to the bartender 1st so, it wasn't my American accent that set him off. He then barked, "What do you want? Gin, vodka, whiskey, tequila? And sort of glared at me. Ok, most of me wanted to leave at this point. But, I was determined to get a cocktail. I opted for my usual margarita. It would not have been my first choice in a place advertising cocktails. Yes, a margarita is a favorite of mine but given a choice, I'd certainly try something different. Well, before I get my margarita, it was more off a test of wills. The bartender then asked what kind of tequila and named a few. I wish I had looked to see if they had a few displayed behind him, but I must admit, I was flustered, aggravated, and confused by his attitude. So, I just picked one. The bartender then asks, well how do you want it? A shot? On the rocks? He wasn't being helpful. He was annoyed like I was wasting his time in a almost completely empty bar. But let's back track here. It's a bar boasting cocktails and you think I want a shot? The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is my margarita was yummy. And I'm very picky when it comes to margaritas. Going to a bar called Sir Winston Churchill in the middle of Bilbao would never have been my 1st choice. It wouldn't be even a choice if I was in Benidorm. We went because of the advertising of great cocktails. Instead all we got was a grumpy, cocky, bartender.

(Translated by Google) An expensive place for what it is. Although it's a decent option if you don't have a ticket to a real club in Bilbao. The drinks are expensive, and the security team's treatment is generally poor, although there are exceptions. I would recommend paying special attention to the door staff, as after certain hours they become quite rude and crass, and as you can see from the negative reviews of the place, they're not pleasant, I can attest to that. In short, it's a place to go out if you don't have anything else; it can save your night, but it can also ruin it.

(Translated by Google) My friend and I decided to leave the place this Saturday because one of the security guards suddenly came in and suddenly started pulling and kicking people's jackets like crazy. There was a really good atmosphere and we were having a great time and that scene seemed super violent to us. Then when we left, we told him that this was not the way to do things since when we arrived the cloakroom was not open to which he replied that "he did whatever he wanted" and "that he laughed at our faces." I will not go again because of the bad vibes that that bald guy created for us, which will undoubtedly bring them problems in the future. Gure Toki is a modern, industrial-chic restaurant in Bilbao that offers contemporary Basque cuisine and tapas along with regional wines. The restaurant is known for its crab tempura, salty cod, and tangy goat's cheese in manzanilla sherry. Most of the ingredients used at Gure Toki come from Mercado de la Ribera, which has been a central part of Bilbao's food scene since 1929.
Top notch Tapas. Everything here was quite tasty. Their prices were fair and they had lots of delicious things to choose from. Staff were friendly. Their wine selection was nice. Overall this is a great place to check out and get a tasty treat while enjoying some refreshing wine.

The Basque cheesecake and “cheese soup” were spectacular, though the rest disappointed. Make sure to visit during lunch or dinner hours, as the kitchen closes during the afternoons. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The third best cheesecake of my life after La Viña in San Sebastián and JonCake in Barcelona. Cheesy, creamy, sweet, with a caramelized sugar top and crumbles on the side. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The “cheese soup” was recommended to me by the manager as their house speciality. It did not disappoint; one of the best pintxos I tasted during one week in Basque Country. ⭐️ I love salty food but the salmon empanada was so salty I couldn’t finish it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The duck empanada was tasty and well balanced, even though the duck was a bit dry. ⭐️ The soft shell crab tempura was also inedible because it was way, way too salty. Disappointing because soft shell crab is something I always order when it’s on a menu. ⭐️⭐️ The calamari sandwich looked better than it tasted.

Great pintxos, a must try when in Bilbao! Located at very historic Plaza Nueva. Their homestyle burger was one of the best we had!
Alkistis B — Google review
Had lunchtime pinxtos here while sitting on the lovely terrace. Great selection and all the ones we tried were delicious. My favourite was the jamon, cheese, potato and egg, a little work of art! Nice selection of wines, I tried the godello and was a great choice. We also had the basque cheesecake, it was fantastic.

Best pintxos bar we’ve been to in Bilbao our 3 days here. The razor clams were absolutely delightful, the pastry with prawn filling pintxos was excellent, so was the scallop. Highly recommend coming here for your next pintxos crawl in Bilbao.

Very nice establishment. Good food and drink at reasonable prices. Mainly ordered pintxos and tapas. Nice staff, not rushed. We had a table inside, didn’t realize there was outside seating. Worth a visit either way.

This place is a synonym for happiness. Very nice and friendly service! Perfect food! Good wine! I’m glad that I came back. And I was sad that it was closed on Sunday. The top for me: cheese soup! Try it and enjoy!

Second review: Wow! We went back in the evening, curious to see, if there were different pintxos. And boy, oh boy, we were not disappointed! The goat cheese one, the ham and mushroom one and the cheeseburger halves were amazing! Super friendly service as well. 5/5! First review: Good pintxos that are not served at 10am. You should get here a little later. One pincho was spectacular, one good and one alright. 4/5

La Olla de la Plaza Nueva is a stunning neoclassical square located in the heart of Bilbao's old town. Built in the 19th century, it boasts 33 semicircular arches with Doric columns and is surrounded by some of the city's best restaurants and pintxo bars.
The pintxos look sensational and are beautifully presented. Silly us, we were too full to try them, but we had drinks and the strongest gin n tonic we've ever had in our lives. The staff are welcoming and chatty as it was a quiet moment but the evening was fully booked and tours come here for the award winning food. We'll make sure we book in advance next time we're visiting Bilbao.

A wide variety of pintxos to choose from. The ones we tried were very tasty. We were here two times: lunchtime and evening. The vibe was great! The staff are friendly, attentive and quick service. A must visit when you’re in Bilbao.
Belinda G — Google review
The pintxos looked appealing, but since we were seated at a table, we had to order from the menu instead. My tuna was good, but my husband’s cod had an unpleasant, almost jelly-like texture. Overall, the food was fine but not particularly tasty. The wine, however, was excellent.
Maria ( — Google review
Visited La Olla through a cruise excursion. Everything was amazing! Was told we were getting a snack, it was so much food, we couldn't eat everything. But made sure to taste it all. Delicious. The tuna was a crowd favorite. I also enjoyed the pork belly and mushroom pinchos. Will definitely be back to visit. Thank you
Amber M — Google review
I visited with three friends and really liked the atmosphere here. It wasn't too busy, and we sat at the bar. The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful. Our tour guide earlier in the day told us that the ceramic dishes on the bar in La Olla relate to what the pintxos are, and I ordered the tuna with avocado which the guide had recommended - it was delicious!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Amazing Experience at La Olla in Plaza Nueva! If you’re in Bilbao, La Olla is an absolute must! The food is delicious — authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented — but what truly made our experience unforgettable was Ramón Muñoz. His service was beyond exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Ramón made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He’s the kind of person who turns a good dinner into a memorable experience. Ask for Ramón when you go — he’s simply the best! We can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Ramón, for making our visit to Bilbao so special!
Beatriz V — Google review
We tried the top-recommended pintxos here the miniburger, the beef steak, and the four-cheese and every single one was incredible. Each dish was packed with flavor and felt really special, definitely worth trying. If you’re looking for a spot in Bilbao where the recommended pintxos truly live up to the hype, this is it.
Uri Y — Google review
Lovely relaxed place with freshly cooked hot pintxos. We had the Pork with Plum sauce (Secreto Iberico) and Red Tuna (Atun Rojo). Both delicious flavours and cooked to order. Friendly and laid back vibe. Plenty of cold pintxos to choose from spread across the bar. There is indoor seating mainly high chairs with bar tables and outdoor table seating in the plaza.

Bascook is a charming restaurant located in a former salt warehouse, with warm stone walls providing a cozy backdrop. The menu, curated by local chef Aitor Elizegi and executed by Alvaro Gomez, offers inventive and modern Basque dishes. Divided into sections for vegetables, fusion food, and local cuisine, the offerings include falafel with salmorejo soup, maki with anchovies and cod, as well as confit salt cod with cauliflower pil pil sauce.
Stumbled into Bascook on a sizzling hot day… and I swear it felt like an oasis (with much better food 😏). From the very first bite to the last sip, everything was simply spectacular. The flavors were bold, the service was warm, and the atmosphere had just the right touch of laid-back charm. Honestly, it wasn’t just a meal — it was an experience. The kind that makes you smile long after you’ve left the table. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something delicious, memorable, and perfectly refreshing on a scorching day. Just be warned: you may not want to leave. 😉
Alena S — Google review
Overall OK but expected a little better based on the overall rating and some previous reviews. We went for the Harri menu, each course arrived swiftly and we'd have appreciated the pace to be a little slower, the starting sharing courses were all good; maki, omelette foam and grilled prawns (seafood of the day). Next course of tuna tataki, the tuna itself was good but accompaniments not to our liking - crisps and a tartare sauce that was too much mayo. Next course of iberican pork was the biggest disappointment - probably one of the driest pieces of pork I've experienced and would have shared that feedback had we been asked at the time. Desserts - passion fruit cheesecake was good and a nice size after the previous courses, French toast is substantial so ensure you've left enough room. Atmosphere is modern and spacious, quiet early on in the evening but busier later which it needed.
Graham K — Google review
Interesting fusion between basque ingredients and Asian techniques. Pretty unique, but you have to like it. The start was with a small cabbage hummus, served while waiting for your order. We then got a Cappuccino of Cod to share, 8 makies with a chili pepper and rice base and cod-fish cream on top. Pretty complex taste, but good. We then had a local grilled beef, very well cooked and tasty, a grilled pigeon with its stuffed gyozas/ravioli, very tasty even if it requires to combine in a proper way the meat, the gyoza and the sauce. Last main dish was a ramen seafood based, with noodles. Very intense taste. To end we order two desserts, the mojito ice cream, served with caramelized orange skin and the French toast with dulce de leche. Both very sophisticated and tasty, the first to prefer if you like a bitter taste, the second if you like a sweet option. The venue is very elegant and cozy, with a very nice playlist accompaining the dinner. Staff was very attentive and nice. Recommended to try, but not expecting a pure basque restaurant.

We had originally booked to go to Eneko Basque, however, after arriving and being ignored for 20 minutes (not even acknowledged or seated) we decided to try Bascook instead. Even though we didn't have a reservation they couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. We chose the Menu Gatz, and were really impressed. All of the dishes were perfect and we enjoyed trying each of them. The wine was also great. The service was exceptional - it wasn't pretentious or over the top and the whole experience felt relaxed. I recommend!

Amazing lunch, exceptional value for such high quality food and service. Highly recommended. We came as a result of a recommendation from a Spanish friend. We didn’t have a reservation but luckily they had a table for us. Ordered from the set menu which was delicious and very filling. Wine was also top notch.
Kirendip C — Google review
Great lunch time deal with a choice of 2 plates (no difference between starter or main course), plus dessert and a glass of wine or beer for 32 Euros.. Nice friendly staff, great venue. Mussels in a fantastic sauce, steak tartare was very tasty but too smooth texture, special of burger was nice but could have been better seasoned, salt cod nice. All followed by their fantastic chocolate dessert.

Tasty Basque food with modern spin through Asian and Mexican influences. Cocktails also very nice!

Had high expectations for this place, but it fell short on every aspect. The staff makes you feel rushed and every dish had an issue... (cold, not fully cooked, etc). Does not compare to its sister place, The Basquery, which is a 10/10

Sorginzulo is a tapas bar that specializes in regional meat and seafood dishes as well as wine. The restaurant has a lively and stylish setting in Bilbao's Plaza Nueva with great food at reasonable prices. Don't forget to order the delicious "foie à la plancha" and "rabas" (calamari)!
Loved their Pintxos. They were delicious and the portion size was generous as well. Fried calamari was amazing and came in a very big portion compared to the price. Highly recommended.
Animesh D — Google review
The pintos here look colourful and are very creative. We tried a sausage wrapped in pastry topped with a mini egg. It was expectedly tasty but maybe a little rich with the combined combo. The mushroom and goats cheese pinto was juicy and the combo gave it a moorish quality. Washed down with an ice cold beer and it was a great pit stop.
Jit S — Google review
Sorgínzulo is another fantastic pintxos experience in Bilbao, right on Plaza Nueva. It’s a small, bustling spot full of energy—people enjoying pintxos, wine, and music, with crowds lining up for the next round of tapas. The selection is big, prices are fair for the location, and the flavors are excellent. I’d happily come back here again!
Denis T — Google review
If you can only make it to one pintxo bar, let it be this one. We tried at least 8 different places in Bilbao and we rank this as the top for variety and taste. We love the pintxos here (calamari burger, stuffed anchovy, anything really). The standout dish of the place was the foie which came with popping candy and a brioche that tasted like a torrija, felt like a dish that was invented to be a part of a Michelin-star tasting menu. You have to order & wait for it but it’s worth it! Service is pretty quick and friendly.
Janel L — Google review
So the service was good and the squid dish was excellent. Sadly we ordered the red tuna dish - the most expensive dish on the menu - instead of coming with the advertised avocado, lime and mayonnaise, they cobbled together something with an overly acidic tomato salad and some rocket (picture attached for proof). If you haven't got the ingredients for the dish don't serve it, a real shame as if you do get served what is advertised the food is excellent.
Greg T — Google review
A lively pintxos place at the main square, a bit more touristic to our like but the food quality and taste is good, pricing is also very fair. Would prefer an either more local and down to earth or smaller scale pintxos place around the town but if you are for the main stream vibe, the food is definitely good!
H G — Google review
The pintxos were excellent and varied, though like with many pintxos I was left with a bit of heartburn. The sangria was very light on alcohol but tasty — for me, that’s a plus. Four pintxos and two sangrias for €25 is a deal you won’t find in Munich or other big cities. Unfortunately, the restroom was extremely dirty.

If you want some pintxos, but you are bored by the traditional recipe, this place has plenty of pintxos based on various cuisines. But if you want your traditional pintxos, they have them too. An iconic place for authentic Pintxos. The service is fast, the food is good, the atmosphere is simple and local. Our favorites: the pulled pork with a slice of apple, and the spicy chicken.

Only place I found which had a dedicated gluten free menu, had plenty of choice on there too. Had a few of them, good food and good value. Staff were nice and accommodating to my poor Spanish. Service good. Venue itself nothing special, but def worth a visit if after gluten free food in Bilbao. Walk in, didn’t need to book.
Tim B — Google review
A really nice and interesting spot for somebody who visits from outside of Spain. It was my first experience trying Pintxos and this was probably a pretty authentic one. You choose from the ones offered everywhere on the counter, put them on your plate and try to make eye contact with the very very very busy bar woman. It's a wonder they don't burn out after a day of working, respect. They can heat them up for you, or you just eat them like that. 2,50 per snack is quite hefty in my opinion, but for the experience it's worth it. If you have problems with crowded places though, be warned.

Having tasted so many Pintxos in Bilbao it is safe to say that this place is special. Unassuming interior with function over form this place offers a great new interpretation of the Pintxo. A fusion of Basque culinary delights with an east-asian twist on the whole thing. The owner is a delight and happy to recommend dishes based on your preference. Hard to just pick one here so go ahead an sample them all. Recommended are the pulled pork and fallafel ones. Thanks for having us!

Was looking to taste Pintxos or Basque tapas in Bilbao. Randomly walked into this restaurant and boy was it a great find. Pintxos were all tasty especially the yummy pork cheeks, at least that what I think it was. I saw some of the locals order it as it was not on display at the counter, and lucky I did. So soft and delicious. We were there when the Bilbao football club won 🏆 and so the vibe in the whole city was festive.

We just happened upon this place and grabbed an outdoor table for lunch. Instead of pinxhos (tapas), we had comidas caseras, or house meals. My husband had meatballs on a light red sauce plus octopus & lobster on a skewer. I had a chicken taco with house made guacamole. It had a distinct Basque rather than Mexican flavor. Cost €12 pp. outdoor spot, lovely service. Recommend. And worth a wander in the purely local new town section, maybe 15 minutes from the Guggenheim.

Came for the coffee and was not disappointed. The owner really knows his stuff. We tried the specialty filter coffee and it was amazing. He even served it in ceramic cups he made himself—we were lucky to be the first to use them! Loved the whole vibe. Definitely coming back.

Such a great bar. It's small and cosy. The staff are really helpful and friendly. There's a great selection of local beers, all delicious. Even if you're only in Bilbao for a few hours, make the effort, it's worth it. The sandwiches looked class too.
Michelle W — Google review
I visted here in early December 23 and have to say I wasn't dissapointed. OK, it's only a small place, so it can quickly fill up. So my advice is to get here early. What it lacks in size it makes up for in warmth, friendliness & intimacy. The beer choices whilst limited (by lack of space) are quite impressive and it's fairly obvious that the owner has a good knowledge of craft ales. The choices range from IPA's, Porters, Stouts, to Pilners & Belguim types. On the evenings of our visits there were 6 beers on tap, 3 IPA's, 1 x Porter, 1 x Belguim Dubbel & 1 x Pilsner, not to mention and impressive selection of craft ales in tins (inc some from the UK) The bar's small size can make it a bit squashed at times (especially when it gets busy) but there are a few small tables around the back with a sprinkling of extra chairs & stools. In the worst case scenario there are even a couple of small tables & chairs outside on the street, however the street footpath is narrow & also very steep (Oh & it needs to be dry!) There are two small toilets to the left & rear of the bar (both very clean) On our visits we had the opportunity to sample a few of the bar snacks, both the hummus & the carrot cake were delicious. I can also recommend the hot chocolate & coffee which were equally of top quality. Overall this bar was a great find and despite it's small size I would highly recommend it. The owner is a lovely guy (who speaks better English than my Spanish) and also very helpful. If you're not sure about anything, just ask. To add just a footnote, the bar is located just a short walk from the Ibarreko Zubia footbridge, but be aware if you're not good on your feet it is quite a steep little climb.

Located in the old part of Bilbao, known as Casco Viejo, Iturriza Taberna is a small and cozy place with a lovely ambiance. The bar offers an excellent selection of pintxos, including four vegetarian options. The staff is friendly and speaks multiple languages. Despite its popularity, the service is efficient, and the atmosphere is lively. Visitors can enjoy their delicious pintxos while sitting outside to stay cool.
Very nice pintxos and red wine! Will come back again. The staff are super friendly :)

A typical Basque restaurant with excellent pintxos. I tried several different typical snacks. They were all excellent. The service was fast and friendly. Considering the hot day, the cold beer served was a real refreshment. A pleasant stop while exploring the old center of Bilbao.

Pintxos were not bad but the bread i think was there just for display. I though we were supposed to eat the whole thing but those bread bits were so hard they were probably made out of paper... Not a good experience. Seemed like we were being server yesterday's leftovers. The staff was wonderful though.

Good place to try some pintxos. It is located within a square with various other tabernas. The food and service is good. It`s a shame we had to share our bench with cockroaches. The portions are also on the smaller side.

Excellent service. The staff is very friendly and speak English, French and I heard them speaking other languages too. I arrived at around 2pm and it was full! But the waiting time was 5 to 10min and it was totally worthy. The food was great, the music relaxing and the atmosphere was lively. I will definitelly go tomorrow again. The Sangria was perfect. I recommend to sit in the tables outside because it is fresher.

Fantastic little bar. Food is great. Massive quality burger for €10 (Although they cook it medium rare by default, ask them to cook it well if you prefer). The sandwiches are also top quality. They have about 6 taps of craft beer, the majority are local IPA's but they seem to change regularly. The staff are fantastic women Very obliging. We came here for a late drink, but we ended up coming back for several days for breakfast, dinner and more beers. Highly recommended.

Kubrick Bar Bilbao is a must-visit for film enthusiasts, especially fans of Stanley Kubrick. The bar is a loving tribute to the renowned director, with its interior adorned with posters of his iconic films. It offers breakfast and lunch options, including pintxos, but truly comes alive after dark. The ambiance is reminiscent of a movie theater merged with Kubrick's distinctive sets.
Probably my fave bar during my week stay in Bilbao. I was initially hoping they would play the classical Kubrick movies music but their 80s 90s English & Spanish rock music was definitely on point. The Kubrick bar decor is very much in line with movie lovers expectations after you snoop around lol. Not to mention the excellent drink prices and comfortable seating.

We had time to spare. It was sunny and the outdoor seating caught our eye. They only had indoor seating which worked out well in the end as the decor was quite interesting. We ordered beer and Txakoli. Restroom was clean. May check it out at night to see what kind of vibe it has.

When it comes to beverages, they offer Right Side coffee from Barcelona as well as an impressive selection of craft beers, including many local brews like Boga and Basqueland Brewing Project.
Bilbao 15/08/24, following our Porto, Madrid & Toledo holiday. Great selection of craft beer/craft ale. Friendly, English speaking guy, very knowledgeable about beers! Will definitely come back over our 3 nights here! So far, my favourite bar!
Mike773 U — Google review
Very expensive beer for Bilbao. €9.20 for a ‘pinta’ (not a pint, not even close) of anything ‘craft’ — €6-7 for a regular beer. Didn’t help that the guy was very rude too. The Czech Budvar-style beer we had wasn’t fresh, it was almost flat. Disappointing, was hoping to make this a regular haunt!
D B — Google review
The craft beer paradise. They have a great selection of beers on tap and cans and I found some great beer from Manchester ( ABC, Cloudwater) They don’t have any pintxos at the counter but just cheese and biscuits. Cozy ambience with quirky forniture. Absolutely approved, I felt at home.

Molly Malone is the most Irish bar that you'll find in Spain. It's got everything from beer to food to music that all reflects Ireland. The prices are good and it's a great place to watch Premier League matches.
Great pub to watch the footy. Only downfall is there is no air con so can get quite hot and stuff... besides MUFC losing 😭 overall decent pub 👌

All good except the service. They starve you. I ordered fries and after checking twice, I got it in 45 minutes. And they make you pay at the time of ordering, so you can't leave either.

Wanted to watch the All Ireland GAA final and despite being an “Irish” pub and having multiple screens, we were told that it wouldn’t be shown. Thankfully a customer had a rte player account and they allowed him to log in and we got to watch the final but I think they would have had much more of a crowd if they had planned to show the match in the first place!
Deborah M — Google review
I will give it a 4 because it least had Guinness. That said it definitely wasn't a full glass, not sure if euro 4.90 is good value as never had Guinness in Spain before. No food until 8pm apparently, and then only pizza and Nacho's. I can imagine it's good with a crowd on a match day, on a Thursday evening at 7pm it's mediocre at best. Cannot beat the real Irish pub in Ireland.

The music is kinda ok sometimes, the drinks are quite expensive. Didn’t feel comfortable that much at that place, the waiters were rude. I understand that this work is not that easy, but at the same time.. saying ‘thank you’ would be nice. And almost no one spoke English. I get that not everyone needs it. But when you work in a club/bar/restaurant, and you know that the city is not that small.. expect the tourist.

Very-very expensive drinks (about twice the level I have met in Bilbao so far). Also the music was so loud you couldn't speak to the person sitting next to you, but you couldn't dance either because the floor was covered with tables. The bartenders didn't understand the very simplest requests in English. The interior design was nice, but still I wouldn't recommend, and especially not to tourists.

Terrible place regarding the guards outside. Walked up to the line, they said full, but as we didn’t speak Spanish I asked him in English if there was a waiting list. I recommend 100% One of my favorite place to have a good time in Bilbao! Very friendly atmosphere and here you can feel Caribean spirit. Great music and then we met our old friends from Venesuela, we danced all night! I don"t talk about coctails and drinks, barmens job is perfect and with love.Cuba Libre and Gin Tonic was amazing and one of best in Baskonia! One small problem, they have only one darts machine and we couldn't play this game two hours.

I went on holidays to Bilbao (Spain) with my two female friends. We wanted to go out one night, but everything closes very early in Bilbao. Most bars had shut their doors at 22:00 (10 pm). Upon asking around, we got recommended El Galeón, as that would be one of two bars still open at 23:00 (11 pm). I must say it was a very boring experience. There were almost no (young) people, apart from a creepy man who was constantly staring. The bartender definitely wasn't the most friendly either, and I have never found a bar where they play such annoying, unappealing music. It was a Spanish playlist of songs no one knows and overall it just didn't fit for going out. I'm afraid this is your last hope for a fun night out in Bilbao - but you will have more fun just buying some drinks from a Chinese store and playing drinking games with friends, cosy in your own appartment.

In a world filled with alcohols, established players or newcomers joining the scene all have to defend their right behind the bar. Creating liquid experiences worth remembering. This establishment might have had the craft sometime before, but today lacks any interesting qualities. Either inside the drink, or the ambiance of atmosphere within their walls of blue and neon purple. A watery espresso martini and an uninteresting gin fizz awaits anyone bold enough to make an order.

(Translated by Google) I'm going to be honest: we went to a gala on Sunday, December 29, from 12:30 to 4:30. We arrived first, but the DJ didn't start until half an hour later. The music at first was reggaeton, a little filler and at medium volume, although they later turned it up. As for the sound system, it is good and can be heard equally throughout the court and areas. Around 1 in the morning DJ Markelin started. Beyond its style, the music was quite varied and successful. As for security, at the end of the night there was a tense moment with a drunk guy. I notified a security guy and he resolved it quickly and without making a fuss. In short, I thought the club was very good. Although the first half hour was quiet, the night was great. Without a doubt, I would repeat.

(Translated by Google) Hello good evening, I just came to complain about one of the PR companies you have, on September 21st I reserved 18 tickets for this weekend, he told me that he would reserve them for me (I have screenshots of the conversation) even so I told him that on the 13th-14th I would confirm if it was definitely those ones or some more, I confirmed today that it was the 18 that he had already reserved for me and his response was "I don't know if I have any left now I'll check" I replied to see if he had any left in the end and I haven't received a response.

There is usually a good atmosphere. The doors are nice if you don't mess with them. The space is wide. There is a platform. Bathrooms ok. €2 per wardrobe. The area is perfect because it is next to the metro. If you catch it early, the entrance fee is €15 (Original) Muy bien. Dj suele ser de 8 con buen criterio y buena habilidad para mezclar. Start your evening with a private guided tour of the iconic Guggenheim Museum at sunset, where a knowledgeable guide will lead you through its stunning exhibits and highlight renowned artists. After soaking in the art, head to this vibrant bar that’s known as one of the coolest spots in town.
Bilbao's coolest bar!!! What it offers? Foosball, Darts, Mojitos & Caipirinhas, Shots, Draft Beers, Custom IPA/Artesan Beers (bottles and cans too). Amazing music/movie themed decoration, outisde tables (high tables) for smokers, super central location (casco viejo / old town) and great service. If you like rocknroll, this is also a MUST bar while in Bilbao. Mixed crowd of locals and erasmus /tourists. My favorite spot in Bilbao!

I am one of the locals, I can’t be objective. One of the best pubs in the whole town.

This place is always a great place for drinks, music, and meeting new people. The variety of music and drinks are sure to satisfy most customers. Has a chill atmosphere, English speaker friendly, and cleaned and stocked toilets (most of the time). It gets busy as it's popular but the staff are always willing to help and keep up with cleanliness during the night when possible.

Disco club
Stage Live is a popular venue in Bilbao known for its electronic music events and live acts. With a capacity of around 1,200 people, it regularly hosts international DJs and offers a rooftop terrace for party-goers to dance under the stars. Additionally, the venue is recognized for its rock and metal gigs with top-notch sound systems that ensure an immersive experience. While some visitors find the acoustics less than ideal for heavy metal concerts, others appreciate the intimate setting and reasonable drink prices.

(Translated by Google) Stage Live has a great atmosphere, and the music and venue are worth a visit for a lively night out in Bilbao. However, there are a few negative points to note: the staff isn't very welcoming, especially with French people, which somewhat spoils the experience. The service is quite slow, and you have to leave your drinks in a lobby if you want to go out for a smoke—not very practical. Also, many glasses end up broken on the floor, which isn't ideal for safety. It's a shame, because the venue has potential.

Bar Basque is a charming spot in the Basque Country, offering an indulgent experience for cocktail enthusiasts. The cozy ambiance and impressive selection of cocktails, wines, and cavas make it a paradise for those who appreciate fine drinks. The pintxos are meticulously prepared, with the vermu being highly recommended. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the interior decor is stunning.
Great cocktails(no menu so just say which cocktail you want, they gonna make it), Great ambiance, decoration, really helpful and nice staff

We visited first on a Friday night and got great service and some wonderful cocktails. Great atmosphere and cool interior. Decided to drop by again the following Sunday and asked for the same drinks, but were met with a scowl and a terrible attitude. All in all a very mixed experience. You might get lucky, you might get severely disappointed.

Dave S — Google review
Pretty little bar, where we stopped for some drinks and pintxos. The vermú is super recommended! The owner(?) mixes this herself rather than just pouring straight from the bottle and it's absolutely amazing. The pintxos were delicious as well.
Jeeah H — Google review
Right, I want to get my facts right because it is quite possible that things get lost in translation. So, I travel to this bar because of its reputation as a great cocktail bar, I request a Negroni, and am then told (by the mature lady behind the bar) ‘no cocktails, only beer, gin tonics and wine etc’. So I order a beer. Then, a matter of a few minutes later she is mixing drinks like she is Tom Cruise on acid and delivers . . . a perfect Negroni to the next customer. My Spanish is non-existent as is her English, but something very odd happened and it annoyed me greatly.

Living Night Club in the heart of Bilbao is a trendy spot that's gaining popularity for its Latin rhythms. The club offers various genres of Latin music like reggaeton, salsa, kizomba, cumbia, and bachata. It's not just a place to dance; it's also perfect for celebrating special occasions like birthdays where they provide a cake and a bottle of cava for an extra touch of style.

(Translated by Google) The biggest problem was the attitude of the person in charge, who, far from being kind and fair, managed the order of the songs in a crude and arbitrary manner, ignoring the requests of some attendees for no apparent reason. This lack of professionalism and fairness overshadowed the experience, turning what should have been a night of fun into one of frustration and discontent. If that wasn't enough it was too hot. The doorman very friendly. (Original) El mayor problema fue la actitud de la encargada, quien, lejos de ser amable y justa, gestionó el orden de las canciones de manera borde y arbitraria, ignorando las peticiones de algunos asistentes sin motivo aparente. (Translated by Google) We have received bad treatment from the employee. We had not consumed for a while (although we had already consumed about 10 drinks and we had been there for just over an hour) and the waitress, instead of telling us to consume or leave, she kicked us out directly saying “last song and out, this is not a market.” , it seems a shame to me since, as I said before, we had consumed quite a bit and we were not having bad behavior on the premises. I don't recommend it. (Original) Hemos recibido un mal trato por parte de la empleada. No lo recomiendo.

(Translated by Google) My experience at this karaoke was marred by the lack of attention and friendliness of the waitress. After having previously consumed in the place and being in a pause between songs, we were forced to listen to an unpleasant phrase from the waitress who reminded us that "this is not a fish market" and asked us to leave. We understand that the business has its rules and needs, but the way we were treated was not appropriate. We feel uncomfortable and we do not receive the treatment we deserve as customers who have previously consumed at the place. Additionally, the lack of flexibility and empathy on the part of the waitress did not contribute to a pleasant karaoke experience. We hope that in the future, the karaoke staff can improve their customer service and consider the importance of providing a pleasant atmosphere for all their visitors.

There were bands singing three or four songs, and some people who had handed in their tickets later than us got their turn first.
