Bún Bò Huế Sen is a heartwarming dining experience in Huế. Despite arriving soaked from a motorbike ride in heavy rain, the staff warmly welcomed and accommodated us. The delicious Bun Bo Hue served was a gastronomic delight, making it the perfect comfort food. The top-notch service and friendliness of the staff added to the overall excellent experience.
They had really good Bun Bo Hue, and our waitress Qa was very helpful. On their English menu they have only two Bun Bo Hue options - "Vietnamese Bun Bo Hue" and "Western Bun Bo Hue". I've got no idea what the difference between the two was - fortunately their Vietnamese menu has a wider range of Bun Bo Hue options, which was much more similar to what we were used to, with different combinations of meat. We ordered off the Vietnamese menu and really enjoyed our meal!

Mar 25 The portion in my review was the special. The broth, meat and rice noodles were delicious and went well together. They were generous with the vegetables too. The place was spacious. The ladies were friendly and very welcoming. The only minus was the price seemed a little expensive with the portion size.
Harry N — Google review
The waitress Quynh Anh was very nice and attentive to us. When we went in, she immediately turned on the AC for us so we wont get hot. She was also very friendly. The food was good and suited our tastes. We also received free vietnamese iced tea.
My H — Google review
The worst experience in Vietnam (after 2 months). Inedible, tasteless and disgusting. The place is a major scam. The staff makes the tourist go to a different room, and different menu (separated from the locals place to eat).. the prices for tourist are way more expensive, the staff doesn't speak English and ignore everything that you want to order from the Vietnamese menu. The food was completely awful, disgusting I must add. We order three plates and none of them were good. Even the chicken fried rice (a meal where you just can't go wrong) was very bad, super harsh, chewy, solid brick style and unflavored. The crispy noodles and the beef noodle was disappointed to say at least. Liver, sausage and fat (no meat in it at all). The aroma was almost toilet smell, unpleasant... Even the sauces In the table were disgusting. The staff is unprofessional and fake smiles all the time... One of the biggest scams and scammers in Hue. Overpriced (for tourists) and the most horrible experience in Vietnam. We literally ask for food on the placard menu and they insisted on the tourist menu... Scammers, scammers, scammers. I must say (you can check) that I've tried so many restaurants (mostly local) and this was the worst (the only so far) that we couldn't even try the second spoon. Absolutely the worst. They shouldn't be allowed to have a restaurant nor even to cook in any kind of event/establishment. They charge us 10€ (300k), ignored the table full of food and continued with their dumb, ignorant fake smiles. Even after we tell them (and demonstrated) our unpleasantness of everything. Do not, I repeat. Do not go here.
Luís T — Google review
A delicious bowl of Bun bo Hue. The broth was so flavourful, the noodles perfectly cooked, and cuts of beef were sliced thinly and were delicious. Our server Huong was so lovely, she helped us choose which version that we would like more (Vietnamese or foreign). Would definitely come back here - especially for some warming soup and great service on rainy day!
Jessica — Google review
A curious flavour to the bun bo here. Not unpleasant, but different. Couldn't pick it - very strong, almost iron-like beef flavour, like gravy granules, with an almost medicinal taste. 55k. Juices are 45k. Free pineapple and passionfruit for dissert was a nice touch.
B W — Google review
We are the Bun Bo here. Lovely staff and clean toilets. Food was insanely delicious. Nice local place with not many tourists. We got both the Vietnamese (beef, pork, seafood, blood) and Foreigner (beef but same stock as other) bun Bo. Both so so good. Highly recommend for breakfast !!
Marley B — Google review
I ducked into a Bún Bò Huế restaurant to escape a sudden downpour. I enjoyed a delicious meal of Bún Bò Huế and stir-fried egg noodles, and when I came out, the rain had stopped. Highly recommended for a healthy and satisfying meal!

Pho restaurant
Restaurant
Bun Bo Hue My Tam is a must-try dish in the city of Hue, Vietnam. It's a local favorite and has gained recognition from both national and international sources as one of the most delicious Vietnamese dishes. The original noodle soup with beef in Hue stands out due to its big vermicelli threads and rich-flavored broth. This dish has gained worldwide fame, partly thanks to Anthony Bourdain's influence.
With my family, good services. 65k is reasonable price for full bowl 🥣
Nguyễn D — Google review
Worst experience eating in Vietnam so far. They served a “tourist” version of bun bo hue. When I pointed this out, they threw in a couple more toppings but this STILL was NOT how they served the locals, which included pork trotters. The flavours were not anything memorable either and the soup was room temperature, so really they have no redeeming factors. AVOID
Rufina ( — Google review
No prices displayed. We walk in and lady charged 65,000 vdn for a bowl of bun bo. Go to Bà Gai next door. They charge half price for the same.
S M — Google review
It’s ok if you pass by and wanna stop over for a bowl of Bun Bo Hue, but not a must-try place. To me, the Bun Bo is ok, it doesn’t have a very strong taste so it might be good for foreigners. Reasonable toppings. The price might be high for local but I think it’s ok for tourists, cuz Bun Bo in Saigon, for example, have similar price. I like the fact that the beef and pork leg are soft enough. Mình order tô thập cẩm, phần thịt cũng nhiều, nước vị nhẹ thanh. Ăn ổn.
Nguyen W — Google review
The Bún Bò here is fairly average in taste — not the most flavorful version I’ve had, but it’s still a decent option if you’re craving a warm, comforting bowl. The portion is generous enough for a filling meal, and the ingredients are fresh, just missing a bit of the depth or richness that makes a bowl truly memorable. What stood out more was the friendly and supportive staff. They were warm-hearted and attentive, making the dining experience pleasant and easy. Even with limited English, they tried their best to accommodate requests and were always smiling. One major plus: this is one of the few Bún Bò spots that stays open late, which is a real bonus if you’re looking for a late-night meal. It’s convenient for travelers or night owls who want something more than fast food after dark. Overall, a decent choice for a late, local bite, especially if you value kind service and need something quick and satisfying.
Bui M — Google review
This Bun Bo Hue place was recommended by a friend who lives in Huế. The facility was clean and the soup was delicious. Everyone should try Bun Bo Hue. If you are not that adventurous, you can order with beef only, without all the other ingredients like: pigs blood, cartilage, crab balls, etc. I also had the fresh orange juice. The oranges have, “Green” rind and look like a big lime, but the juice is orange and very sweet. The owners speak enough English to communicate. Our total bill for two people was 130k vnd.
Jay W — Google review
Food is ok. Got introduced by the taxi driver here. It’s ok. Different than Bun Bo Hue that made in Saigon and Ha Noi.
MAI H — Google review
lavourful and tasty broth despite it looking clear. Nice rice noodles. However the the toppings weren’t the best (very rubbery beef, tendon too chewy). 60k per bowl

Restaurant
Bún bò mệ Kéo is a popular dish in Hue, Vietnam. It's known for its fresh spring rolls filled with grilled beef and an abundance of herbs, all dipped in a flavorful chili sauce. The vendor is often referred to as 'Waiting for Mrs. Keo,' where locals patiently queue up for their turn to savor the special bowl of Bún bò mệ.
Must atrive before 08h30 as the noodle will be sold out very fast in the morning. Very traditional bun ba hue with original taste. According to many the best in the town. It is true that this place has a richer soup with a saltier touch and a hint of lemongrass. The beef is cooled to perfection. I highly advice to try the mixed one. The ordering is pretty crazy as is the case many times with vietnamese restaurants. Just squat next to the lady and say what you want 😀
Nagy B — Google review
Best Bun Bo Hue. Tried other tourist oriented places in town but this has the best. There are three ladies total, two of them take your order. Each bowl was 40k. Be patient and enjoy. Both days we went at 8am and plenty of noodles left.
Edward W — Google review
Omg. This is no doubt THE BEST bun bo Hue in Hue. Like many dishes, there are tons of restaurants out there. However this place has great noodle, cheap price and very very delicious food. The only downside is they have no service LOL, customers literally have to come tell them what they want, pay and bring the food to the tables themselves. But I can’t complain because the noodle was so good. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!!
Food 8 — Google review
The Bún bò Huế has a broth that is unique and different to other noodles that I’ve eaten in Huế. It’s recommended to try this place once while you’re in Huế. The service is meh. You don’t know which line you’re in to put in your order. You get pushed around. There’s a struggle to find a table. The place is really busy if you don’t get in early. The noodles do run out within 1-2 hours.
Jane D — Google review
Super busy spot for bun bo hue. They’re only open for a short window before they fully sell out. There isn’t a proper queue, so you’ll have to be quick and make your order. Seating is limited, however, you can sit at the cafe next door after you buy a drink. For 40k dong, the bowl of bun bo is one of the best I’ve had in Hue. The broth is full of flavour and the crab balls and beef were cooked perfectly. If you’re wanting bun bo that’s loved by locals, then I highly recommend this spot
Len N — Google review
I think that, among all kinds of bún and phở, this is the best noodle soup in Vietnam. The only problem is that it’s difficult to order if you’re not a local.
Lumpen — Google review
A very cheap bowl of Bun Bo Hue (Dac Biet 60k), you need to order, pick your toppings, veggies and chilli if not on the table already, so the service is nonexistent outside the old lady giving you a bowl. Not clean at all, nobody cares too much. The Bun Bo Hue was good but it all tasted the same, I mean the toppings had all the same flavor, not very good.
Son V — Google review
An authentic local spicy noodle (Bun Bo) restaurant, very popular among locals. It only serves in the early morning and often runs out of food by 8.30am. The price was local (30K/bowl) and the soup was good. However, it’s not foreign-tourist-friendly as you would find it very difficult to order the food without a local guide/friend. The “sold out” sign would be brought out even before the food was sold out to regulate the crowd. The restaurant itself didn’t look hygienic with unwashed bowls hanging around but it’s standard for local restaurants.

Bún Bò Huế O Phượng is a renowned eatery in Hue, Vietnam, known for its delectable beef noodle soup. The dish features vermicelli, beef, and pork rolls immersed in a distinctive red broth infused with lemongrass and shrimp flavors. This hot and spicy bowl of goodness is hard to resist.
The soup is delicious and rich in flavor. The shrimp balls have crab meat inside. The pork leg is boiled until soft and fragrant. I will definitely come back to eat again. It's delicious. I recommend it.
Food T — Google review
1 bún bò chả cua (beef + crab meat ball) for VND40.000 is a reasonable price for the quality, which is very flavorful and savory for a frequent tourist destination. Also, this place serves the best crab meatball I’ve ever had in Hue by far.
Liz G — Google review
Bún Bò O Phượng in Hue, Vietnam, is a culinary treasure that showcases the rich flavors of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. From the moment I entered, I was enveloped in the warm and inviting atmosphere, with the delightful aromas of simmering broth wafting through the air. The star of the menu, of course, is the bún bò, and it did not disappoint. The bowl was generously filled with tender slices of beef, perfectly cooked noodles, and a rich, flavorful broth that was both aromatic and satisfying. Each bite was a harmonious blend of spices and textures, making it one of the best bowls of bún bò I’ve ever had. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff eager to ensure that my dining experience was perfect. They were happy to share the story behind the dish and offered helpful recommendations for sides and condiments to enhance the meal. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of the food, making it an excellent value. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, Bún Bò O Phượng is a must-visit spot in Hue. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would rate it a perfect 5 out of 5 stars!
Khanh N — Google review
My friend took me here because he's been coming here for years! It's one of his to-go spots for authentic bun bo hue. And he was right. I had one of the best bun bo ever. Its flavors were very unique and special. I added more red peppers to make it more authentic. Prices were reasonable. They are very busy, but I will definitely be back!
Son N — Google review
👍 Tasty bun bo hue with crab meat Delicious broth- not overly sweet or salty Optional to have it less spicy 👎 Soup temperature was almost lukewarm- would have been better if it was hot
Colleen — Google review
The food here is tasty, but the prices are steep, clearly aimed at tourists. Service is ok but the cleanliness could use a lot of improvement.
Eddie L — Google review
Broth is super good and very light, unlike in saigon. Environment is ok, bit loud
Long T — Google review
I found the definitive Hue Pho beside the biggest Catholic Church in Hue. This "wunderbar" rice noodle with beef and pork stock as well as pork trotters and beef slices, coagulated pig's blood which I had to set aside, and a spicey minced pork patty is the most satisfying breakfast I had in Vietnam. It is Hue in a bowl of manna which only cost 30,000 dongs or 1 USD....a heavenly repast for fallen angels with barely a sou to their name! And the proprietoress has a smile for every customer as she anticipates your every gastronomic need ( even for the bland chicken pho) like a seasoned courtesan. Mama mia!

Quán Cẩm - Bún Bò Huế is a small family-run noodle shop located on Le Loi Street in Hue, Vietnam. The shop is known for serving the city's famous breakfast dish, bun bo Hue, which features lemongrass-and-chili infused beef broth with round noodles, beef, pork shank, and fragrant herbs. Customers can expect a delicious bowl of bun bo Hue with savory broth and all the traditional fixings.
Great intro to the famous local Bun Bo Hue. Lots of ingredients in the big bowl (60k VND) including the pork ribs, crab ball, pork ball, Blood cake in a savoury broth. Most customers are Vietnamese, thus confirmation of its authentic taste. Adding a little of chili paste will make it more spicy & sweat inducing sensation. Their yogurt is a tasty treat to counter the burning sensation in the mouth. Give it a try. 😁

There is only 1 dish there so easy to choose 😂. It was very good. Simple and cheap. 60k vnd per bowl
Juan D — Google review
Want to try something authentic? This is a place you want to enjoy a Bun Bo Hue and that is the only dish they serve. Have it with some nice cold beer and it’s a perfect match. If you’re local in the area, give this a try.

Delicious pork noodle with pork, pork and beef ball. Quite clean and operate by a man. 60k per bowl.

One of the famous spots where you can get a nice bowl of soup noodle. Not sure why but a lot of taxis will bring you here to try out. The service is good and you can get a big bowl of noodles with a decent pricing. The vegetables are quite a lot and is free of charge.
Troy — Google review
Bun Bo here is super great! It is authentic noodles which everyone should try. Broth: sweet naturally, not too salty but very suited my taste. Hygience: good Service: friendly and helfully Location: very good place to look for. (at the left corner of Century Hotel) Highly recommend. Well deserved of 5 stars. Please note that the price is same for foreigners and local residents, around 30k-60k/bowl depended on size and toppings. I am not related to owner but I felt disappointed at some reviews which were not practical...they complained for price 50k/bowl. I can not understand why they commented like that. I hope some people should well survey or research before blaming others...
Kian N — Google review
My first bowl bún bò Huế in Huế. I have to say it’s delicious! People complain that it’s expensive for the local and I agree. But at the same time, everything has gone up in prices and for a place that has shaded seatings in a relatively clean area, I think the price is worth it for the taste. The broth was nice and savory. They have all of the fixings. Although there weren’t as much meat, it was enough for the size of the bowl. You do get a big chunk of pork hock that is nice and tender. I gave them a 4 for service because the servers were quiet and didn’t interact with customers. Then again, it was 6:15 am and I’m sure they have been up hours earlier to get the food ready. Overall, I enjoyed my first bowl of bún bò Huế in Huế. It’s comparable to my favorite bún bò Huế at home and better than most of the places I’ve been to. I recommend checking this place out.

Bun Bo Hue O Phụng is a small, popular restaurant in Hue known for its delicious and authentic bun bo hue. The owners have extensive experience in making these traditional noodles, which has earned them a loyal following of locals and visitors alike. Unlike other eateries, this place serves up their specialty without pig trotters and blood sausage but still offers an undeniable taste. The flavorful beef and strong broth are the highlights here.
My first bowl of Bun Bo Hue in Hue. The texture of the noodles and flavour of the soup is very different from other parts of Vietnam. Meat is tender, not too chewy. Can see this place is popular amongst locals as well.
Hao S — Google review
Highly recommended! One of the best places for Bun Bo in Hue. There are two styles of Bun Bo in Hue: one is bland, while the other is rich and has a hint of fermented shrimp sauce. This restaurant offers the second style. I particularly love the Bun Bo with eye-round steak here. While Bun Bo Hue is mainly sold in the morning, this place serves it all day long.
Vân H — Google review
Nice Bun Bo Hue in very local place. I really enjoyed both meatballs and bloodcake. Very tasty and great atmosphere to enjoy it. On a note, the chilli is really kicking here. Price is extremely honest too.
Filippo B — Google review
We came to this place right before they closed and the broth pot was almost empty and there were no pork hocks left but we just gotta try. And we were not disappointed. Highly recommend to come here and set the bar high for Bún Bò Huế for the rest of your stay in Hue :)

Delicious bun bo hue! Great taste and service. Very good price too! Definitely recommended.

We tried Bun Bo Hue, it was incredible. The perfect amount of spice (fresh chilli available if you want more) I highly recommend- Thank you
Mia F — Google review
A guide brought us here because we wanted to eat like the local. And we were the only non-local at this small eatery in a dark alley at dinner time. We had the beef and pork noodle soup on a very short table and chairs. Soup was good, and the pork balls were better. The beef and pork were ok. There was a piece of pig blood cake with we didn't dare to try. Recommended.
LP P — Google review
Apparently this place is very famous among locals for bun bo. They are famous with the pork cakes, but they dont have crab cakes. The soup is less flavourful than the bun bo we usually have. If you would like to try a local joint the come here, the street is small and the place is not very comfortable neither look hygiene though.

Bún Bò Mụ Rơi (Bui Tre Vàng) is a must-visit restaurant in Hue, Vietnam, known for serving the best bowl of bun bo in the area. The invitingly dark bowls of broth are generously filled with crab patties, beef slices, and blood cakes. It's a popular spot among both locals and tourists. The attentive staff, including waiter Tan, ensures a comfortable dining experience.
Food here tastes great. I am used to bun bo hue from outside of hue. The food tases almost exactly like bun rieu you can get in other place. Just come exepecting great bun rieu and you will have a good time.
Kevin L — Google review
The food not that good however it is at a reasonable price for its quality. The overall atmosphere wasn’t too nice, it had the classic metal table and chairs but over the large construction going next-door, it made it impossible to eat in peace. The service was okay, it was reasonable. Overall this place was pretty alright and okay for its price.
Toan S — Google review
The broth was fantastic and easily along the best that I have tried so far. The beef was also delicious. What let it down was the chewy pork, not just 1 but all of the bowls we ordered got the same issue. I still recommend this place before you go in and visit the Imperial City
Chien N — Google review
We wanted to find authentic bun bo hue beyond what we had tasted at restaurants and also our hotel breakfast, so decided to check this place after reading recommendations online. It was not bad, especially the crab meatballs. But it seemed that they had ran out of pork blood, or they assumed that we don’t eat (tried to ask for it but was lost in translation). Also be prepared to pay foreigner tax, as each bowl is 50,000 vnd. I’m pretty sure the locals pay a different price. It’s not a big deal but just doesn’t feel good to be fleeced. Also as many reviewers had mentioned, the stall is quite dingy and doesn’t appear very clean, so it doesn’t really justify this price tag.

Came for Bun bo hue, received something different than Vietnamese people around… inside just meat and one crab meatball. The broth was not red as the broth in others people bowls. Simply I received something different and paid 55 thousands dong. I asked why I received this and that it’s not Bun bo hue like others, the young lady that was taking the money was answering only „that bun Bo hue, bun Bo hue”… I don’t know if they treated me like this because I’m foreigner, but that was not good.. 3 stars because crab meatball was good, but the rest…

Not like typical of Bun Bo, but still good choice to try, with tasty and fresh crab

Or waiter Tan was very attentive to my nervousness as I was at first not too comfortable being in the dark but he successfully calmed me down with his guidance. I think this is definitely something you should try and it would be a very enriching experience. The staff’s helpfulness completed the entire experience and I think it was one of the best dining experiences I have had so far in HCM.

Bún bò Huế o Cương chú Điệp offers a delightful combination of beef bone sweetness and the aroma of soft spring rolls. The rice vermicelli is substantial, and the beef is cooked to perfection. The owner's hospitality adds to the dining experience. Guests can savor delicious Hue beef noodle soup, crab rolls, and pork rinds simmered with super spicy chili. The restaurant provides an authentic and modern ambiance with clean surroundings.
A Grab car driver recommended this place to us. We had a great experience here: the bun bo tasted authentic and was great. The banh bot loc and banh nam were steamed fresh right after we ordered, delicious. I had a lovely conversation with the chef's daughter, who shared a great story about how their family has continued to make authentic bun bo hue using traditional kitchen tools for generations. I hope their business thrives, and I would love to come back.

Quán Bà Hòa is a popular spot in Hue known for its delicious traditional dishes. One of their specialties is Com Hen, a peasant's breakfast dish made with leftover rice, clams, shrimp paste, chili pepper, crispy pork crackles, roasted peanuts and star fruit. Another must-try is the Bun Bo Hue, featuring a spread of beef parts and noodles in a flavorful broth. Customers rave about the generous portions and affordable prices at Quán Bà Hòa.
Was looking for a spot to try banh beo and I found it! They were out of the banh nam but was able to also try banh loc. big portion, reasonable prices, fast and friendly service. HIGHLY recommend

We tried the Bun Bo Hue and it's simply a completely different experience than all the other touristic restaurants. The broth was spicy, flavorful and had many different kinds of meats. It's a place where the locals eat. Be careful the food is quite spicy and the hygiene standards seem to be questionable.

If Hue had a heartbeat, it would pulse through bowls of Bun Bo Hue and mussel rice here. The shop is small, a little crowded, with aluminum tables and plastic stools, but the flavors? Monumental. The beef noodle soup is rich, spicy, and brimming with tender meat, crab cakes, and chewy tendons. Every bowl demands respect. The broth is a masterpiece, balanced, deep, and the kind that makes a visitor wish for another bowl before finishing the first. The mussel rice and vermicelli are equally addictive, seasoned just right, a taste of Hue that sticks in memory. Some mornings it’s perfect, other mornings a bit spicier, but always worth the spoonful. Stir-fried clams? Salty, spicy, dangerously good. Even the humble banh beo and banh bot loc hold their own—small delights that feel like they’ve been made by someone who cares. Service is fast and cheerful. Staff are generous, almost motherly, topping off bowls with extra broth and smiling through the chaos of lunch rush. Prices lean a little high for the local scene, but portions are large and satisfying. A 60k special bowl of Bun Bo Hue is packed with meat, sausage, crab cakes, and tendon—more than enough for one hungry soul. The place is not perfect. Tables are dusty, the toilet could use work, and a few dishes—like mussel porridge or extra fatty beef—can misfire. Street vendors wander in, and some dishes are hit-or-miss with spice levels. But these are small blemishes on a canvas painted with genuine Hue flavor. For anyone chasing authenticity, skip the tourist traps. This is the real Hue, messy, flavorful, and unapologetically local. Every trip to the city seems to demand a stop here, a bowl of Bun Bo Hue, a plate of mussel rice, and maybe a sip of iced coffee to wash it down.
Joseph L — Google review
Tried a couple of good dishes here. The mandatory Bun Bo Hue and Bahn Beo Khay. Both were good. The broth on the Bun was way superior to what you get downtown at the tourist spots. Plenty of chilli paste to spice it up. Homemade fishcakes a big plus in the bun. Generous with meat portions. Mostly locals go here but they are very welcoming. I'll be going back.
Craig T — Google review
Was looking forward to trying the Bun Bo Hue after reading the reviews and I must say it truly didn't disappoint. The spread of beef parts (not forgetting the blood) without the noodles is enough to make you full. The tendons, cake and beef slices were so soft. For the price of 60,000₫ per bowl, it's certainly worth it. Highly recommended!
NonoP — Google review
Another good place for authentic bun hen. It was okay compared to the other ones. They use less amount of mussels. Had to pay extra for more. The broth was a little bland. Seems like this place serves bigger portion; I was full within 2 bowls. Make sure to order some refreshing drinks to compliment with the bun hen.

Bún bò O Ty is a popular restaurant in Hue known for its welcoming owner and bustling atmosphere despite being located in a narrow alley. Unlike many overpriced tourist spots, this eatery offers affordable yet delicious bowls of Bún bò Huế, with prices as low as 25k. While the presentation may lack some garnishes, the flavorful and balanced broth along with high-quality meat and meatballs make it stand out.
My bowl may lack the vibrant touch of scallions, please just ignore it. However, this Bun Bo Hue stands out as one of the best I’ve had in the city. The broth is flavorful, rich, and truly captures the essence of this traditional dish. The blood cubes are exceptionally tasty. Highly recommended!

Best Bun Bo we ate in Hue! Clean delicious soup. Big portion size. Really good quality meat. Even the blood jelly (which I usually don’t like) was delicious and fresh. Restaurant is clean and good service with English speaking owner. Highly recommend this place

There's lots of overpriced tourist bun bo joints in Hue, this is definitely not one of them. A friendly local neighbourhood place which sells excellent bowls for a mere 25k. Well worth finding out before spending double for a mediocre soup on the other side of the river. The broth is very smooth and balanced and the quality of the meat and meat balls is outstanding for such a cheap bowl

A local taxi driver got me here, and the taste of this bún bò Huế blew up my mind. It was totally different from bowls I’ve had in Hanoi ☺️ The pork is tender, the broth is flavorful. Just enough amount of rice noodle & other toppings to keep you full all morning, and get ready for the meal ;) The only thing is the space kinda small, so u should get there early to have a seat.

DO NOT GO HERE. TOURISTS BEWARE. This guy charges tourists 50 instead of the 25-30. The soup wasn’t even that good enough to justify. Go elsewhere. We’ve been in Vietnam for 2 weeks now and we’ve been tipping a lot of the restaurants that have been honest and kind to us. This place will never get a tip from us. (Translated by Google) Hue's signature beef noodle soup is delicious and has traditional flavors. Today, when I got home from practice, I didn't wait for the hotel buffet but went in to try it. Because it was early, the restaurant had just opened up and there were a few customers, and the owner was still carefully slicing fresh beef. It's been a long time since I've eaten such a delicious bowl of beef noodle soup. One minus point is that the raw vegetables served with only bean sprouts don't have basil, I don't know if it's because it's too early and the restaurant hasn't had time to pick it up or something.

We had dinner yesterday and It was a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and the service given by our waitress LilNhi was excellent. They offered us free desert (passion fruit) and once she knew we were on Honeymoon trip, she also brought us a second additional desert. We were only in Hue for 2 nights and I was anxious to find really good places to eat - Madam Thursday Restaurant did not disappoint. We went to eat around 8:45pm and was offered a table quickly. The food was amazing; sharing salad rolls to start, followed by a beef stew and stir fried shrimp. Ended with some watermelon brought out as a complimentary dessert. We each had a hot tea too which was surprisingly refreshing. Only downside was we chose to sit outside and then the restaurant opposite blasted loud music across the street, added a dance vibe to the meal though 😂 wish we were staying in Hue longer so we could come back!

AMAZING, EQUISITE, DELIGHTFUL, SCRUMPTIOUS!! There are not enough words to describe how fantastic this restaurant is. We arrived at our homestay around lunchtime, asked for a food recommendation and this was the first place she suggested and it did not disappoint. We ordered 4 dishes and each one was remarkable. My mouth is watering as I write this review. Such friendly staff, speak very good English with impeccable service. We are now considering prolonging our stay just to make sure we have tried every single dish on the menu. This food is healthy, tasty and makes us happy 😊 The best passion fruit I have ever had was given to us as a complimentary dessert.

Our food was served quickly, and everything we ordered was tasty and well-prepared — simple, fresh, and satisfying. Good presentation and the food was average good. Packed with tourist, you just can't get away from them in Hue. The table was sticky and dirty and there is a lot of staff for such small number of tables, some of them just sit around on their phones (I guess that's a common thing around Vietnam, not very professional) The food is very well curated and presented, it makes you feel that it's more special than what it is... They offer you perfume cold towels, ice tea and fruit as complementary. Went for a basic level food and I must say it was basic average taste.

This is an amazing market, seems everything is here, quite big! Upstairs are clothing, bags and silks. We don’t have a very good experience up there, they were very pushy! A lady meet us on the stairs asking us to have a look at her clothing, told her we’re not looking anything in particular just having a look around. But she won’t have it, they will put anything you might be interested in your face! She was getting rude when I wasn’t buying. Price start really high! Another woman won’t let you passed by until they shoved anything they’re selling on your face! They repeat what you saying in a rude way! Downstairs all food, plenty of dry fruits, nuts, anything you can think of and in all different sections. Quite pleasant to look around here because they won’t bother you that much unless you ask! Helpful to have google for translation, most of sellers won’t understand English. Great experience.

A buzzing, vibrant market located just a short walk from Trường Tiền Bridge and right by the Perfume River. If you’re looking to experience the real hustle and bustle of Huế, this is the spot to hit especially towards the last for hours before closing. Inside, you’ll find everything from fresh fruit and local snacks to handmade hats, clothing, shoes, and souvenirs. The variety is impressive, and the atmosphere is very local, energetic and noisy. It can get pretty crowded and intense, especially in the late afternoon. This is the perfect place to grab local specialties or last-minute gifts. The market closes around 7:00 PM, so it’s best to visit in the morning or late afternoon. It’s a must-see spot in Huế.

Authentic local market, we went on a Monday morning, under 1% tourists. There an upstairs which Sells clothing and material which can be access from stairs in the middle. A good place to practice your bargaining skills and try some local cuisine. The market has sections: kitchen ceramics, baskets weaving, shoes, nuts and grains, fresh flowers, food incense etc.

Huge street market and most famous one in Hue. Very well kept and organised despite the huge amount of items you will find. I just wish the sellers were hustling us less, it felt way too overwhelming and we couldn’t decide where to eat or what to buy as we would get interrupted all the time in our train of thoughts 😥 also bumping prices whilst we speak vietnamese is a bit unpleasant…

Great market and street market outside in the week at least when we visited. Friendly owners help guide you through just about every food type and fruit. This is a special market where you can buy your fruit and veggies and tea and then sit and have some fresh food. A special bowl, full toppings costs 50.000 VND which is reasonable to me, compared to other Bún bò Huế shops. The most disappointing thing is the space was so cramped, hot and unhygienic. It was so crowded even at 9pm when I came. That's why the order was so slow. Not recommended for tourists.

we came at a very busy time so maybe this restaurant is better when it is less busy. there were no tables available for a long time, we saw people eating on chairs without tables. and even after we sat down, they didn't clear our table until our food came. dirty bowls and trash is all over the street. it was hot and no fans were provided either. tissues and utensils were not stocked. the food itself is just okay, not what we would expect from a popular place. the bun bo looks more like pho, and it had no color. they were either too busy or forgot to add it. they also forgot to give us limes. it is cheap though so you get what you pay for. tldr food is not that good but not terrible. bad service.

Bún Bò Huế O Hoà is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Vietnamese cuisine without breaking the bank. This charming eatery is renowned for its clear and flavorful broth, which perfectly complements the tender vermicelli noodles. The dish features delicious beef, savory sausage, and rich blood pudding that create a delightful combination of tastes. While it may not cater to those who prefer overly rich flavors, it strikes a perfect balance for many diners.

Mainly tourists, food was delicious! After ordering we were warned that there would be a long wait due to being busy, but food came faster than expected ~30 minutes. Service was very good and staff were very friendly. Also provided a free flan for dessert which was a nice touch! Would recommend the yellow curry!
Alex M — Google review
We had dinner here and overall enjoyed the experience. The service was friendly and quick, and the menu had a wide variety of options. The prices were very affordable considering its a very touristy place. The food was good, and after the meal, they offered a complimentary flan dessert to all customers — a sweet and delicious surprise! However, the place didn’t have air conditioning, just a fan, so it was a bit warm and they only accept cash. Also, there was a small issue with our order. We specifically requested seafood rice noodles, but they brought us egg noodles instead. When we mentioned it, they insisted that’s how it’s supposed to be, instead of just apologizing for the mistake. That part was disappointing.

We had a lovely dinner here! The restaurant is very well hidden but definitely worth visiting! The food was amazing and the prices are very low! We had a dinner with 4 persons. We had a lovely dinner here. When we arrived the restaurant was quite full, it seems popular. They have a vegetarian section on the menu 💚 We tried Bun Reu and Yellow Curry, both very delicious. The portions are good size. They offered free mini flan as dessert which we were not expecting, and it was tasty. Our waitress spoke good english and was happy to serve. The atmosphere is nice, cozy like the name, 2 floors, we ate upstairs and it was a bit hot but they have many fans and air condition too so its alright. The prices are affordable and a good deal considering the quality of the foods. We should comeback, easy to reccomend.

Found this place by chance in Hue and it was perfect! I wanted to try Hue cuisine such as banh beo and this was amazing. The flavour was so good and you can ask for more spice if you prefer! I recommend combo 3 and the watermelon juice. Trang served us with amazing hospitality. Super cute shop next door also where I bought this dish!

A good restaurant. I had the sweet and sour chicken, which was excellent and very tasty. My partner had the beef noodles, and while they were good, we’ve definitely had better ones in Vietnam. The service was friendly and quick. There was only a small issue with the card terminal, but otherwise everything was fine. Since we have visited much better places before, I’m giving 4 stars.

When I arrived in town I immediately went to this small restaurant to try the local dishes. It was delicious, very neat and beautifully prepared, the spring rolls were wrapped perfectly. Four appetizers were too much for two people because the portions are large and I was full after eating only half. The restaurant premises are nice, it is fresh and cozy, and also very quiet during the day. And of course they have fresh draft beer, which is perfect for a hot day.

Our driver took us to this restaurant in Hue, Vietnam. He said this was one of the famous one where we could have an authentic food. We loved the restaurant ambiance, huge venue with oriental design and garden. The food was delicious and reasonable pricing. The phoenix spring roll was presented nicely resembling the phoenix but edible. The steam fish was fresh and flavoursome. We also had grilled pork which tender and light. Staffs were helpful and attentive. Juices were freshly made and local beer was always a good companion.

I just had the most amazing dining experience! The food presentation was a work of art, almost too beautiful to eat. The staff were so polite and attentive, making the whole lunch even better. It's a little bit off the beaten path, but so worth the journey. I'd highly recommend checking it out!

My wife and I are all about eating good food and staying healthy especially when travelling, but the food we ordered was awful and probably the worst we've had in our time in Vietnam. Service was average and no water or welcome drinks were offered. This was after a long hot day visiting the Imperial palace. We were brought here by our tour driver. Afterwards I wanted to tell him you should not bring people here, but I didn't hence my review. Our food looked like dog food, I couldn't eat it because it was so bad. Waste of money and time. I ordered fried rice and roast chicken but the chicken looked, smelt and tasted terrible and the rice was bland. My wife had beef noodle soup also not good. This ruined our Hue experience, soooo dissapointing. Avoid this place if you can. Shouldv'e went somewhere else 🥺
DJ S — Google review
The place is close to the citadel and away from the main city but somehow still is crowded from all the tour buses. That being said, there's a reason it is crowded - the food was quite good. It's a little bit pricier than the other places but I am guessing due to the number of tourists. The best part about this place is the location and the garden. It's very tranquil and breezy, had a nice lunch.

Food was good but service was chaotic Probably because we were a large group (25p) but they many mistakes done with beverage order and it also took a very very long time to prepare (had to wait 25m for my smoothie. They assured me it wasn't an omission but it was being prepared) Recommended for small groups but to avoid with large groups

This is an autentique Hue style restaurant. The place is beautiful, they show love with the presentation of the plates and the tasty is incredible. We follow the recommendations of the attendant to have the best of their culture and it was amazing. To finalize, I asked a Salty cream coffee in the best Hue style and it was the best coffee of my life.

When visiting Hue, dining at Y Thao Garden is a must. The grounds and garden are meticulously cared for, and the dining rooms are tastefully appointed. This restaurant specializes in set menus (Imperial Hue dining) even though an a la carte menu is available. Each course is presented in a creative manner. The ingredients are fresh, the spices are well balanced, and the food is authentically Vietnamese (I am from Vietnam). We really enjoyed the dinner and experience.

Pros: Food was really good! My family enjoyed the food, which also came beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is very scenic and is perfect for photos. Recommended by our local guide. The food was good, but it was overall not a great experience at all. The service can best be described as lackadaisical where the servers don't really seem like they want to be there, and don't really want to serve you. Additionally the chairs and tables were rusted and looked like they could fall apart any moment. The icing on the cake were the many rats just casually running around the restaurant. The food is pretty good, but it's not worth going through the above.

With the rain flogging down, my brother, dad, and I ducked into the highly recommended DMZ Bar for lunch — and we’re so glad we did. The staff greeted us like family, and over the four hours we spent there, we shared stories about our travels and their life in Hue. Cơm hến Hoa Đông is a distinctive dish from Hue, Vietnam, typically enjoyed as a hearty breakfast. It features a bed of steamed jasmine rice topped with baby basket clams, crispy pork skins, roasted peanuts, and shrimp paste, accompanied by an array of fresh greens. The clams are stir-fried with garlic, onion, fish sauce, pepper, and mint leaves before being served over the rice.
THANK YOU to the aunties of Cơm hến Hoa Đông for one of the best, happy-tear inducing meals that our group of 7 had in Huế. Every bowl of clams was a revelation in flavor that we savored til the last drop! Each bite was a constellation of delightful textures that we will love for ever. Hard to decide whether the rice or the noodle was the favorite. A cherished memory.

Ordered hến xào here cause I wanted more mini lala instead of just a few spoons. Unlike the other rice or noodles that you can see the aunties scooping right in front of you, the hến xào is taken from the back kitchen. I believe it is already precooked cause of how fast it came out. It comes with a sesame cracker. So you just crack the crackers and eat it with the mini mussels. Food is ok, not bad. Environment can be quite hot

I went there based on a local resident’s recommendation. The taste was just average. When I visited, the restaurant was very dirty. I’m not sure if this is common in restaurants across Vietnam, but it definitely wasn’t clean. I ordered com hen and a beer, but they forgot to bring the beer. They realized it at the end and tried to serve it, but I canceled the order.

We came here based on a recommendation from a food blogger and we were a little disappointed. The ladies are super nice and they wanted us to have a good dining experience, but the clam rice/noodles (we ordered both) was average. The rice cakes were delicious but I could have gotten them anywhere in Hue. The restaurant is in a very local part of town and a bit bumpy to get to (we took a Grab). The tiny road leading up to it was one-way. It was definitely an experience. I'm glad I went but I won't be going back.

There are better bun thit nuong around. Don't always trust the Google reviews. If you don't see anyone there then it's either a copy cat restaurant or aimed at tourists. A+ for service and English speaking skill though. Not fresh. Microwaved style. Portion size is great though.

Following a recommendation we came here late afternoon to check it out. The place is small and just off a small alley. No air con as such but some strong fans which help with airflow and to keep flies away. Were given free hot tea and later banana. The food is good although the Nem Lui didn’t use lemon grass as skewers and opted for wood sticks, portion size was good and taste also. We also ordered a mix meat banh mi, which was great and worth the price along with a noodle bowl with pork. In general it was good but be advised if the menu doesn’t show prices on drinks don’t order them. We later found we paid milk coffee for VND 35K. Which is exactly the same price as the nearby pianolab cafe’s salt coffee.

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable bowl of pho, look no further than PHỞ NGON HUE. This charming eatery serves up Vietnam's beloved national dish with a delightful twist. The broth is rich and flavorful, crafted from fresh ingredients sourced right from their garden, ensuring every bite bursts with authenticity. Guests rave about the friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your dining experience enjoyable.
Our first meal in Huế was phở at this place and it was amazing! The broth was tasty and "strong" enough which is not always the case in many other restaurants. There was a friendly and helpful waiter who also spoke excellent English.
Thuy T — Google review
Overall pretty delicious, cannot recommend the chicken pho even if it is tasty otherwise because of the 老母鸡 (chicken) being strips of cooked chicken rather than as the menu displays as parts of a differently cooked chicken. Pedantry aside, the broth was delicious as I’ve come to expect, and the service was very gracious, providing me a bit more shredded chicken and soup (and mint), and water, and watermelon. Our experience was very good

The reviews don’t lie… the vegan Pho is fantastic. Really delicious flavours. The staff are very lovely too!

Best Pho I’ve tasted in Hue and great service! Incredibly flavorful chicken pho with a rich and flavourful broth. I’d rate it 9.5 out of 10 – the only minor downside is that I would’ve loved a bit more chicken. The coffee shake was also delicious, and the fresh orange juice was refreshing. Highly recommended!

If you are reading this, YOU MUST GO!!! THE BEST FOOD IVE HAD IN VIETNAM!!! I can not express to you how increbel this food was! Normally when you get Pho it doesn't have much flavor, well not here! The broth was incredible. The meat was tender the egg was cooked perfectly. Its a large portion too so you will leave full and happy.

Quán Bún Bò Huế Kim Đồng 2 is a delightful destination for anyone craving the authentic taste of Vietnamese noodle soup. Open from early morning until late morning, this charming eatery focuses on delivering a select menu that highlights the rich and aromatic broth, infused with lemongrass and spices. Diners rave about the exceptional flavors found in their dishes, particularly the Dac Biet variety which surprises with tender cow tongue.
We came late for lunch so no one was in the restaurant and it was dead. It was the only one around we found walking distance from our hotel. The lady was very friendly and accommodating! We decided to order the Đặc Biệt ($60k each) because, well these two little piggies had been walking and was extra hangry! We were pleasantly surprised to find cow tongue in our đặc biệt bowls! Granted I wish there were more in there, but it was nice and tender! Hubby loved how tender everything was and the rare beef was also tender because it wasn't cooked to death like some places! The broth was light and flavorful. I may revisit to share update of how much they put MSG in the broth in an hour or so.... We have been here 2.5 days and eaten 3 different Bun Bo Hue's and this one and the one we had yesterday was much better than the first place we went to! We asked for extra veggies and less noodles and she was very accommodating! We really appreciated that! Would definitely come back again next time we are in town and will bring our friends!

Thank you so much for such a great experience. When the owner saw we had a baby, she gave us a separate little bowl with pre-cut noodles and sticky rice on the side. When I left for 10 minutes to take care of my baby, the lovely lady poured more hot soup for me 😍 Amazing experience

Excellent experience here yesterday. Bun Bo Hue was delicious. I had the dac biet variety and my wife and mother in law had other varieties. All dishes were exceptional. The staff was super friendly and tolerant of my cheeky 2 year old who kept messing with things, they even cut his noodles for him and made a special kids dish. Very impressed! Bánh Canh Cá Lóc Dì Hương is a popular spot in Hue, located in the south-east of the citadel. The restaurant offers a great atmosphere and is known for its delicious soup cake with fresh fish that isn't fishy. For those interested in trying fish intestines, it's recommended to arrive early around 4-5pm. The quality of the food is highly praised, with delicious burnt fish, crispy egg, and crispy pork skin on offer.
if you want legit good Banh Canh Ca Loc then this is the place to go! this dish is already hard to find throughout vietnam as its a Hue specialty.. but this place is where all the locals come to for this dish! its all very local style - outdoor kitchen with little tables and stools. no menu as they only have the one dish here (you choose ur type of noodles - a tapioca flour or rice flour noodle). as theres no english here, it might be trickier for tourists however there isnt much to go wrong here! its delicious! hands down!

(Translated by Google) On the first day in Hue, I had the opportunity to enjoy snakehead fish noodle soup - it was really delicious. The broth was sweet, rich but not harsh, very suitable for the taste of Northern people. The snakehead fish was lightly fried so the outside was crispy, fragrant and completely not fishy. The noodles were soft and chewy, because they were cut fresh and boiled right before eating, so they kept their softness and the aroma of rice flour was very clear. Another plus point is to order boiled quail eggs. The fatty and rich taste, eaten with the noodles, is very unique and interesting. About the price: • Bowl of noodles: 20,000 VND • Boiled quail eggs: 15,000 VND With such quality, this price is too cheap. If I have the opportunity to return to Hue, I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Bún bò Huế O Oanh is a fantastic place to savor a satisfying bowl of bun bo Hue, a popular noodle dish in the city. This signature dish features tender beef, vermicelli, and lemongrass, creating a flavorful and hearty meal. Priced reasonably at 40k vnd for a full bowl with generous portions of meat, it offers great value compared to other eateries.
Bun Bo Hue was delicious ! We came here at 6am, and enjoyed it for breakfast. The owners were kind and friendly as well. There’s plenty of toppings given to add more spicy to your bowl. The different chilis have distinct tastes to them, so you can flavor it to your liking. The chili oil have hints of fried pork skin which is an excellent texture added to your BBH. 10/10 !

Bún Bò Huế THU HÀ is a beloved establishment in Hue that has been delighting locals since 1998. This family-run restaurant has undergone improvements over the years, boasting comfortable seating and ample parking while staying true to its roots with traditional flavors. The broth is crafted from simmered bones and meat, striking a perfect balance of sweetness without overwhelming shrimp paste, embodying the essence of Hue's famous beef noodle soup.
(Translated by Google) The broth here is sweet, not too strong in shrimp paste, but still retains the characteristic flavor of Hue beef noodle soup. The beef is tender, not tough, the crab cake is delicious and tasty. The accompanying vegetables are always fresh, green and crunchy, adding to the appeal of the dish. Close to home + open until late so I eat there all the time 🥳🥳 They also sell chicken salad.
