Small shop. Tuaran noodles is their signature but somehow, the noodles and the way it cooks doesn’t seem to be like tuaran noodles. One of the signature is the tuaran noodles yellow wine. For that, the yellow wine tastes so strong. It’s either you like it or dislike it. I prefer the original Tuaran noodles.

Food is very good! In my opinion, this is the best spot for Tuaran mee. And to my knowledge, I don’t know anywhere else in KK which offers lihing (local rice wine) Tuaran mee. I love their Tuaran mee texture, flavourful sang nyuk. The lihing was extra strong today! And I always top it off with a sunny side up. The gooey egg yolk just elevates the whole dish 🤤 The portion is huge! Definitely enough for two ladies. The only downside is the environment. It’s an old kopitiam, which gives it a nice vintage, traditional vibe but it’s very very hot 🥵 the cleanliness can also be improved. The attitude of the waitress and the boss is alright. Not very friendly but not rude either. I still go there quite often, and it’s my husband’s favourite whenever he comes to KK. We love the food so much that we’re willing see pass the hot environment 😅 Still highly recommended, especially to tourists 👍🏻 it’s absolutely worth a try!

Ordered Tuaran mee ayam lihing. I didn't expect it was gonna be the almost "basah" type, but it wasn't a problem. The lihing was quite strong, abit surprised, but I wanted it strong anyways. Chicken was roasted, tasted good until I forgot to cicah my lada. Cravings satisfied! There's also one shop that does tuaran mee lihing at delima, but if I'm not mistaken they put lihing in the fish soup instead on the noodle (serve no pork).

Went for both soup and dry + the special that includes everything. Very porky bowl of soup with comforting salty taste (I love salty). The fried onions are great, can be better if they provide fried garlic, small red chilli. Also, would suggest to provide some vegetables for different textures. Pork slices are well marinated with perfect thinness. The kidney might have been a bit too 'porky' for personal liking. Overall it is a standard good bowl of pork soup and noodles. Nothing really special, nonetheless a day to day type of food.

There's 2 ways to order this. The soupy version where everything is in it or the semi deconstructed version where you get the dry mee individually and the soup separated in another bowl. I suggest you get the deconstructed version where you can get 2 distinct different taste for the price of one. The dry noodles are tasty, delicious salty oily gravy and smells great. It looks plain but looks can be deceiving. Good enough to be eaten alone to be honest. The soup is yummy. Comes freshly cooked (that's why there's a little wait but worth it) and steaming hot. Contains the famous pork slices, liver, intestine, meatball with self extra ordered kidney. That there's absolutely no offal smell is testament to the incredible preparation done to it before cooked and served to you. The tender pork slices are incredible and that itself is reason to try this dish. Tender, soft and fresh, the meat near literally melts in your mouth with minimal chewing needed. Superb and worth the recommendation to come here. In short, try not to miss this if you are in the area.

Always my go to place for sang nyuk men when i work in KK. Personally i feel this is the best among all sang nyuk men in KK. Reference for West malaysian chinese taste I prefer the soup (dried noodle is too sweet and greasy for me). I dont recommend the kuey teow Can request for more fried onion with lard Soup is hot and tasty (salty for some maybe) Add a touch of white pepper in the soup can enchance the taste It is constantly boiling under charcoal fire Chilli sauce is just great to complement the noodle. Well organised systematic Cafe with great food and even better Kaya! Best kaya i have ever tasted. Smoky and good flavour of caramelised brown sugar.

My family and I really enjoyed the laksa. It was mildly spicy and flavourful. The broth was thick and rich and absolutely tickled our palates. We also ordered kaya toast and it must be one of the tastiest ones I’ve had. However, the ngau chap noodles was somewhat disappointing and tasted watered-down. It unfortunately brought down the dining experience at Yee Fung Laksa a few notches. Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable time and would highly recommend this place to anyone who’s in Sabah for a visit.

Local specialty laksa. (And to be clear, the laksa is not the same as what you get in Singapore or Penang). The version here has a distinct curry flavor and deeper umami. Lines may be long but very efficient. There is a regular serving and "King" serving size, with the latter having shell on large prawns (vs smaller prawns). Fresh and flavorful, but you decide if you want to peel by hand! The chili sauce on the side is very nice too. Wash it all down with a iced preserved lemon or plum drink.

One of the best noodle always here if visited this place, plus their price is reasonable too. Food is consider good as well. Just that sometime there is long line of people waiting for table, but can see they are very good in organizing it included advance order and very quick serve your food.

Came here to try their laksa and it didnt disappoint! Though its not very hot and noodle portion is abit small. Their fish ball was OK but the dry noodles was cooked too long as its soft and mushy. Place is quite packed with people so you might need to queue depending on the time you visit. Staffs here are very friendly and you will need to order at the counter.

The laksa soup was okay, but I was a bit disappointed with the prawns. I ordered the larger prawns, but unfortunately, they weren’t fresh. I was expecting fresher seafood in Sabah! The beverage was good though…sorry, I forgot the name! Hahahha

Came here because of the high ratings. Came here for breakfast. Super crowded. The laksa is acceptable but not the best. Felt like the soup is quite diluted. Not flavourful. Fishball is great. Overwhelmed by the extremely efficient and fast service. Shop has AC but due to the hot weather it feels like no AC. So hot that we had to leave immediately after as it’s too humid.

I tried its Tuaran Mee this morning. Not bad. However, I also ordered a Barley Ping drink that was too diluted. Otherwise, this almost 50 year old kopitiam is worth trying for its wide variety of local food. And the ambience here brings you back to the old days.

One off the best Tom yam in KK , that’s the one and only dish i ordered every visit . The lady boss is very friendly and besides local , there are many asian tourists patronising the shop. Hard to find parking in the area at times. All transactions in cash only as there is no QR pay or any other e payments.

Seng Hing has been well known for their tomyam prawn noodle soup for decades. Over the years, the prawns have gotten smaller from one big prawn split in half in the early days, to now just small prawns. The soup is also less thick than before. Still tasty, but not quite the legend it once was.

I like the Tuaran mee. You can expect some wok hei and the good flavour of the noodle. I came during the off peak hour, so there’s plenty of table available. Do prepare some cash for payment as it is preferable payment method by the restaurants

Sat near the street, nice atmosphere where you can see passersby. The laksa is pretty good, I find the laksa compared to Singapore ones is thinner in broth. Not bad still. Savory but not very heavy on coconut milk.

For me, the tuaran mee is overrated unless you order lihing (white cooking wine) tuaran mee. Sweet and sour fish was ok. The wet butter chicken is the best in town in my opinion- the sauce is like pure butter with added flavours. My friends always get their famous laksa here. Chicken fried rice is nice too.

A simple food shop, you can either choose from the preset menu or customise Ur toppings. Reasonably priced and very tasty beef broth. Don't expect and vegs for this type of beef noodle ya. Would come back again, if I ever come to KK again

My sis recommended me to try their Ngiu Chap here, but when I arrived, I noticed they had Tomyam Ngiu Chap 😋. Since I’d never tried it before, I decided to give it a go—and wow, it was truly TOMYAM KAW KAW 🤤. The broth was spicy yet so full of flavor, the kind that makes you keep eating even while sweating 😂. Definitely worth it! Can’t wait to try their original Ngiu Chap next time.

My favourite Ngiu Chap in KK. The Ngiu chap and combination their signature chili is perfect match . Besides Ngiu chap , that also selling fish slice noodle soup. Dining area is big and spacious. Plenty parking space at basement with reasonable rates. Highly recommended

The beef soup is a bit plan but the meat is really soft and tender welly cooked,I would give it just a 7/10 as I like the soup to be richer, the Kon Lau Mee is quite got 8/10, the blend cili I didn't like it 3/10. Overall not a bad place to have ngau chap

Strongly recommend to try! The soup is clear but the taste is packed with a punch, totally unassuming from the look of it but was so good. Ordering is easy and seated at sheltered mall with fan, so quite cooling.

The owner decided to change the rice to garlic instead plain rice. Not a good combination for bkt and somehow taste not seems right as garlic rice is usually used for chicken rice. . They should give an option for plain or garlic rice. Will be my last visit since they don’t have an option as per the staff.

There are three different soup base to choose from; dry bakkuteh, traditional and the pure thick Klang style bakkuteh. We ordered traditional clay pot bakkuteh rm16.50 per pax. The soup is fragrant with minimal herbal taste, good for those who don’t like thick herbal taste. Less salty and taste good. Rice is fragrant and moist. Overall good 👍🏻

A must try when in KK! The food is just unbelievably good! Full of taste, aromatic! But I also need to mention the staff who are so kind and helpful! Best food I got in KK, no idea why it isn’t on every to-do list yet.

Haha klang lang cannot come here to Eat. The meat very dry And soup is very dilute. The tau ke Haiya so Plain. No fry before. In klang we will Fry first. Overall environment And Service is ok but bah kut teh taste hmmmm completely different from the taste in setia alam.

So far the tastiest Bak Kut Teh I have tasted in KK. Meat is soft and yu tiao is good, only a little too salty for me. Price is not cheap(like all the rest of the bkt in kk). Place is clean and neat, though lack the traditional kopitiam air. Recommended!

Highly recommended to visit there! Had local food experience there with their friendly service staff. The lady staff is kind and good at explaining their menu. Basically we ordered our food from her recommendation. We ordered both dry and soupy bak kut teh with mix lean and fat pork. Also, ordered tou gee, lettuce and lime juice. All of their dish is nice and satisfying. I love their lime juice too! I’ve never heard of the drink before but I ordered it since the lady staff recommended the sweet and salty taste. That taste is quite unique and refreshing! It actually tastes like ion water(pocali sweat).

My favorite and the only one Bak kut teh shop i go in KK.. I used to go Kee hiong since i had lived in West Malaysia.. I have tried almost all famous and popular bak kut teh in town. Totally unacceptable taste for me but kee hiong is the best😁Iusally order enoki and youtiao, each dry and soup bak kut teh... First tried 猪脚 this time..It still has the pork smell...so i couldn't eat much but my friend said it is considered much better than any other shops in KK.. Not sticky... I am kinda senstive of pork smell tho.. Other than trotter, higly recommend all menu here!!!

It is good to have an original Tuaran mee in the place where it originated. With the aroma of 'wok hei' which is not overwhelmed the cha sao favour plus the not dry tuaran mian are a perfect match. For people who like the nostalgia feel of Tuaran old shop lot, here is a perfect place.

Humbled by this 40-year-old coffee shop selling authentic Tuaran Mee. A special to Tuaran district noodle made of flour and egg distinct to its character to be soft when cooked. Reminiscing the younger time as a kid coming here with my family on a 40mis journey from Kota Kinabalu just to eat at this shop. The fried noodle hasn't lost its touch, and the food is still the same as how i would remember. It's probably even tastier! A must try 1. Mee goreng tuaran daging kerbau (buffalo beef) 2. We leisurely meandered through the KK (Kota Kinabalu) Handicraft Centre, also referred to as the Filipino Market or Anjung Kinabalu, on a Saturday. The market boasts a vast array of souvenirs, including Sabah pearls in various shapes and sizes. We even bought a T-shirt for RM 40. There were stunning batiks for sale, along with fresh fruits, vegetables, dried snacks, and everything else you'd expect at a market. Notably, along the front of the market, male tailors were busy at work with their sewing machines, adding a unique touch to the vibrant atmosphere. It was easy to visit, as our apartment was in The Shore, just across the road. The market operates daily from around 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Had a great experience when buying dried fishes and snacks here in particular when dealing with the shopkeeper, Khabib. His service was second to none! He was friendly and easy to deal with. He gave good discounts and free gifts if buy more ! One of the best experience I've had when did my shopping here. Definitely a nice place to buy sabahan snacks and dried seafoods because of the choices they offer. Most of the stalls offer relatively the same prices but each stores have different packages of discounts and promotions so happy shopping! He can even pack for you the items in boxes for easy carry when going back home via plane.

A good place to go if you’re a tourist and wish to get souvenirs or local food stuffs from Sabah. They have lots of stalls here and the whole area is divided into a souvenir and food section. Most of the stall sell fairly similar items and bargaining is encouraged. Do take note to watch your belongings closely and be aware that the whole area is quite hot and humid especially during day time. Taking e-hailing is highly recommended as parking is very difficult around these areas.

My opinion is, know what you want to buy, study the price and try to nego with the sellers as low as you can. Item such as amplang, kerepek cincin, ikan bilis, pearl brooch, you can buy here. But for item such as T-shirt, kaftan etc just go to normal shop around KK or accross this market. For the sellers, I think they’re all so friendly & can nego. They Even can packup your bought item in a box.

An indoor bazaar made up of a potpourri of a hundred different smaller vendors hawking everything under the Sun (and then some). Expect your standard market produce, local snacks, dried goods… and also handicrafts, homewares, souvenirs, accessories, clothes, and occasionally some really bizarre artefacts. This is retail therapy at its most rugged, and the vibe is guaranteed to put you in a good mood. Gentle side note of caution: the aisles in here are narrow and it can get crowded certain times of the day and certain days of the week. Be very aware of your personables at all times.

Great place for souvenirs made in China. Every stall sells the same, so there's really no need to stroll the market. I was very disappointed as I was hoping for an authentic, handmade souvenir.

Aka Filipino Market. Not even the locals visit this place too often, but it’s got its fair charm. The seafood market will be full of people trying to get you the freshest seafood there - big crabs, fancy fish, etc. - and it’s fairly Filipino immigrant local, but cleanliness and hygiene is not a guarantee! The snacks shop are full of Malay ladies and aunties who are selling the same thing. There’s near zero diversity or differentiation between stalls. The wet raw fish market for buying whole seafoods, not for on the spot cooking and consumption, is a fun walk and experience! 7/10 overall. A lot of fascinating dishes should your stomach dare. Hinava, sea grapes, parrot fish, all for cheap!

Love the ambiance. They always put up really nice festive decoration. When we go there we always sit outside. The food was good. We had the Chicken Chop and Crispy Chicken Burger. Love the Chicken Chop. It was served hot, and chicken was cooked perfectly. The Chicken Burger was good as well. Crispy on the outside and juicy chicken fillet in the inside. Some things they can improve on is the timing of serving the food. There was a 15 minutes gap between our food. I was almost finished with my food, when the Chicken Burger was served. Also another improvement needed to be done is customer service. Some of the servers are really friendly and attentive, and some of them are not attentive and lack the communication skills. We will still go to Upperstar for the food. I would say the food here is good value for money. Hopefully they will improve on other areas and be better in the future.

Went there on 15/4/25 around 10 PM and ordered the baked chicken pasta, French fries, baked mushroom soup, and chicken burger. Kudos to the chef on duty that night — you guys did an amazing job with my food! I loved every bite of it! The baked chicken pasta was loaded with cheese on top — definitely worth the drive to the Damai branch! The fries were perfectly fried with just the right amount of salt, and the pastry on top of the baked mushroom soup was beautifully baked and generously portioned. Huge shoutout to the kitchen crew for the generous serving of fries — bless you guys! No comments on the chicken burger, but I’m pretty sure it’s just as bomb as everything else! You guys really made my night. Thank you for preparing such a hearty, comforting meal. You all deserve a raise! Not to forget the service crew — super alert and quick on their feet. So far, Upperstar Damai is the best branch to go to!

Ordered and ate here, fries was soggy, and pale, I asked for chilli sauce.. surprisingly they run out of it, ordered ice blended mocha but taste was horrible, did ask for amendment but still bad taste, and staff making jokes and cursing about 'poo/shit' near to me while I'm dining... Toilet is filthy and the toilet door knobs is horrifying, they really drop in service and quality.

A decent spot for cheap eats, a great place for friends and family gatherings. The menu offers a variety of local and Western dishes at reasonable prices. However outdoor seating can be uncomfortably hot, and the indoor air conditioning has an odd smell, suggesting some improvements would have been needed.

Further in to town there’s another much better place but its not to say it wasn’t good, just not the best for me n my taste buds. U hv 2go 2them to order which i hate n its ur typical coffee shop style. The mee soup oso average nothing fancy, chili too watery. M surprised a lot of people gave 5 stars mayb i’m a bit harsh in my reviews. I mean it was ok but I wldnt give it 5 stars.

Lunch recently at the home of Mee Tuaran in Sabah. They have all sorts of fried noodles here. If you are looking for the signature style of Mee Tuaran with rice wine, you need to ask for “tambah Lihing”. Lihing is a type of Sabahan rice wine made from "pulut", a glutinous rice, and is a traditional rice wine for the Kadazan-Dusun people. The roast pork noodles was excellent. The seafood noodles used a fish meat that tasted like chicken! Not sure what fish it was. Perhaps some tuna. Unsure.

Tuaran mee is good but the amount of meat is very little. Service is quite slow & you need to go to the counter to place your order & make payment (different then after Tuaran mee restaurants nearby)

Sabah Part 4 We were supposed to meet another couple who flew in late at Tuaran. So when we got to the town, the first thing we did was to look for Tuaran Mee. With no reference whatsoever, we looked for the oldest looking shop - almost all shops looked old 😅 so we settled for the one aptly named with the famous dish from this town. Price varies depending on what ingredients you order for the Mee - one has option for biasa, saunyuk (roast pork), seafood, daging, saunyuk campur, daging kering campur and kosong. ◾Mee Goreng is a must-order! The homemade noodle packed with wok hei although not much presentation. ◾Kon Lau Mee - basically noodle with concoction of dark sauce and topped with ingredients. Options for those who don't like their noodle dry. Their fried noodle was definitely star of the show. They do have another branch in Inanam for those who don't feel like traveling far. We also bought durian from a stall next door but the flavour didn't come close to West Malaysia's.

Overall, the food that we ordered was ok. Portions are quite big.

They said it's the best Tuaran Mee in town. The noodle itself is already nice without any condiments, it has a chewy texture as seems it used an egg in the noodle dough. During eat it we also can taste a strong the egg flavour in every time we chew. On top of that it very tasty as well. Must Try !!

Very delicious local dishes and welcoming owner to talk to. Will come again. A good place to go at night when you are carving for some comfort food.

Mix pork Porridge and fry pork ribs that we order not up to standard. The barley drink that we order is not fresh( mixed yesterday and today)

We ordered a Seafood Porridge (RM15), Pork Porridge (RM10), Chicken Feet & Mushrooms (RM22), and Fried Pork Intestines (RM35). Added Yu Char Kway and Century Eggs for the porridge too. The food tasted good, the portion of porridge was quite big for one person. Overall it was a good supper. Business is pretty good, needs a bit of patience for food to be served. Recommended.

After ten years and revisiting back this shop. The dining space is still moderate. The choice of foods for order is still the same🤗. Tried the fish porridge, watanhor, siewnyuk&charsiew. It is delicious 😋😋

We came here at the recommendation of the snorkeling guide (reads local). Their specialty was the porridge, and we ordered one seafood porridge, one razor clams porridge and a chicken porridge. The guide highly recommended the salted egg bitter gourd which we ordered although the both of us are not a fan of bitter gourd. We had an additional order of dry noodles with fish after seeing other people having it. Generally I feel the porridge is a bit too salty to my liking, not much ingredients as well... More porridge than the ingredients. The salted egg bitter gourd was tasty though, it was crispy and the salted egg covers the bitterness of the bitter gourd. The noodles was ok, normal but the fish were quite chunky and tasted ok.. not too bad. The one I like most from what we had ordered was the 腐竹薏米水 (Barley bean curd skin drink). It was not too sweet, just nicely sweetened, thick enough and very very tasty!! It's what I like. The place was crowded with people.. no queues as the turnover was quite fast. I don't mind to come back to try the other food that's in their menu next time.

This used to be my favourite place for porridge, but sorry to say that this will be my last visit for this shop. Super DISGUSTING there is a cockroach in the porridge. Keep vomit and the taste of cockroach surround in my mouth. The boss was hide in the kitchen even we are looking for him. Although the meal is FOC for us, sorry tht I really had it as nightmare. We did pay for drinks, understand it’s a business too.

This place does beef noodles in the morning and western food in the evening, and now they’ve added chicken rice too. Tried it, but honestly, it was disappointing. The meat didn’t look good, and the taste wasn’t great compared to other chicken rice spots. I had it both dine-in and takeaway, and the taste was inconsistent. Just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Had mixed ngiu chap kon lau mee, big portion soup really nice with the labu(white pumpkin) just a tard little sweet to my liking. 7 out of 10 la.

Came here on Sunday noon 12.15 , all the farm chicken (B) is sold out, they have only the free range chicken (A) left which is more expensive (rm 14 for mixed chicken rice) Very disappointing, the portion for chicken is very less for an adult, might be enough for a kid. However, the chicken rice is flavourful, not to mention their soup, very yummy. Low rating for the small chicken portion. The beef mihun soup is very yummy .. recommended

Supposed to be famous and delicious place to eat beef noodles. What I am looking for is the thick broth and tender beef. It's goid but I still likes the one in Pekan Mengatal and Keningau.

I like this place because I’m loving one of the food store allocated at the 2nd floor(1st floor for local standard) which selling local beef noodle food. This is quite popular for local people and some even from other districts. It’s open also on weekends and usually sold out by 10am or even earlier. Every weekend I’m thinking about just to have a bowl of this noodle beef to satisfy my appetite throughout the week. I’m not from this district but I do know it could be the heard of Inanam for the people here. Because this market is providing foods need from seafood to vegetables, surround also many older shops. Also some new hotel have been built. This place will be one of the place which tourist and culture meet

Good place to eat quick if not busy place

My last visit to the lokan place was 5 years ago and to my surprise now all the stalls hv shifted to a more proper place, which is good for us visitors as the place has more parking, brighter and better hygiene. I couldn't remember which stall we visited. So i end up choosing this stall which has good rating on the google review. To my disappointment, this is the worst lokan i had. It is totally tasteless the lokan. The saucd given was just normal cili kicap, just sucks! Dun ever go to this stall for lokan! But the coconut puding is ok though... Just a little too sweet to me.... But still... The coconut puding has changed a lot compared to 5 years ago... I meant nt particularly this stall, is like all stall (i think all, cos tried a few stall and all same). Last time was translucent colour, now the puding is white colour. 5 years back, they do not add coconut millk but only coconut water. Now they added coconut milk (i guess, cos is white colour) .

Very interesting smoked coconut (kelapa bakar) and refreshing coconut pudding inside the coconut. The BBQ'd lokan was also interesting and delicious. We got the big set whixh was a good worth taster for 4 of us.

The best pudding kelapa. Tried the pudding kelapa from other stall, such a disappointment. In the end still went back to Kak Tini’s. The grilled udang so juicy. Kak tini’s stall is the last stall at the end.

Corner lot. Lokan were fresh, the sambal/chilli for the lokan was not that tasty. Coconut pudding not great, but acceptable.

Delicious and affordable food. Kelapa jelly very delicious and refreshing. The place a bit hot. The public toilet dont have seat cover. Public toilet need to pay ya.

Came here on a Friday morning for brunch and place was fairly empty. We ordered both the dry and soup tuaran mee, kan lou mee, flat noodles and fried wantons. The texture of the noodles were springy, and the flat noodles were especially flavourful. Portion sizes were fairly big. Overall a hearty brunch.

Heard so much about Tuaran Mee that we must come to Tuaran to try, on the way to Kundasang. Not disappointed. Very tasty indeed. Preferred the fried (goreng) more than the dry (kon lo). Oh... No need to pay for parking.

One of the most famous food in Sabah which you must try is call Tuaran Mee. Which u only can found at the place call Tuaran a small town outside kk 45mins drive. And this shop is the one oldest shop served Tuaran Mee, Mee is making by them own.

Special texture yellow noodle with bbq pork, seafood. You can choose the fried noodle or with black sauce. Award winning noodle in Sabah. Quite busy during lunch hour. Good stop point for lunch before or after heading to Kundasang.

Obviously, this restaurant serves some of the best tasting noodles in Tuaran. On the walls are hung posters and banners which show off its achievements. I however believe that it is their fried noodles which is the better dish, and not the ones prepared with soup or kon lo style. The waiter / waitress taking the order should explain this fact. The down side of this shop is its lack of attention to cleanliness. No doubt that the restaurant is located in a relatively ancient building but that does not mean that the restaurant need not be clean. They have even proudly hung up their "B" rating card which they received from the Majlis Perbandaran Tuaran. Its a pity that the restaurant management has not taken proactive steps to upgrade the cleanliness of this place.

Intend to try local food and here we are for the Tuaran Fried Noodle. Noodle were nice yet taste average. Char Siew a bit too dry. Easily can get a parking here. Food serving was fast too. Price average. Cleanliness a bit poor.

Founder of Mee Tuaran and always a go to place for it. Utensils soaked in hot water were served first as this was the traditional way of keeping the hygiene. Staff were friendly and would highly recommend it.

Food was mediocre. Lack of flavor. Service and waiting time is slow. Most customers are locals. Servers were rude. If you cant wait then I suggest you to try other places. If you like "karen" type of treatment, can give it a go.

Randomly this restaurant is recommended by the local guide over lunch at own expense. First taste of Tauran Noodle. Tuaran Noodle (locally known as Tuaran Mee, 斗亚兰面 in Chinese), a traditional handmade egg noodle born in Tuaran town. This golden-color noodle is rich with egg aroma. If prepared nicely, the noodle is crispy outside but soft inside. We had a dry version 干捞 and the other one with egg starch 滑蛋. Noodle in both version are smooth, springy and chewy. You will be surprised that Tuaran Mee can be stomach-filling even taken in small quantity. Sayur Manis fried eggs is also another popular item off the menu. Price is reasonable charged consider its in a small town off from city. Should have try their Lo Mee as recommended by a diner whom shared table with us. Good dining experience for first timer in Kota Kinabalu.

Not nice anymore, used to be one of our stop by for Tamparuli noodle before Kundasang trip. The noodle tasted bland and soggy, stir fry vegetables is ok, omelette egg too. Didnt take photo of the noodle, wasnt happy by the look and taste of it. Overall not worth the wait, service is also bad. If u want to try, dont go in empty stomach, expect 1 hour wait.

It's me and my partner's first time here, a couple friend brought us for brunch. So we ordered a Ayam Goreng Nasi, Butter Chicken Rice, and a Kopi Ping (do excuse me if i got the food name wrong from the menu). The Kopi Ping arrived first. I specifically mentioned "kurang manis" but oh my the drink was sooo sweet and very very minimal coffee taste. The Ayam Goreng rice was such a huge portion but when my Butter Chicken arrived, the meat portion was as little as a palm size, that was a lil disappointing 🥹 but ngl the taste is great. Our friends ordered the Terung to share. the 'small' portion was HUGE! the deep fried crisp was the batter was nice👌🏻 but unfortunately the eggplants themselves got no seasoning inside. Our friends still enjoyed their food, but hmm.. it was a miss for me 🙏🏻

I just want to share my first experience here in tamar rindu. As we decided to celebrate my mother’s birthday in this restaurant but sadly I would not recommend this restaurant ,if you just want to have a small and simple birthday celebration with your family. The restaurant has a very strict “no outside food or drinks” policy. We had already ordered a large portion of food and drinks from the restaurant, but when we finished eating and wanted to cut the birthday cake as traditions ( small cake brought from outside) . We asked the waiter for small plate for the cake but the waiter told us “no outside food or drinks” policy so she not gonna entertain our request . In the end, we had to keep the cake back in the box and bring it back home instead. Eat it with fewer family members who initially want to celebrate together ,this experience kinda spoiled our moment and quality time together and the initial purpose of celebrating. Overall , I respect their policy and The first 2 waiters are nice and friendly. (3 waiters who serve us) I just want to share my experience here so others can plan ahead if they wish to celebrate a small occasion here. Thank you.

This restaurant serves the local based comfort food. Filled with all local patrons. Service was quite fast. Unfortunately, the food was lacking the oomph. Especially the fried Mee Tuaran was kinda bland. We also ordered fried rice (not in pic), which was quite good; like the total opposite for the noodles. Nevertheless, it was okay.

Came here because there were many reviews and it looked quite popular. But some of the reviews mentioned that the lady boss is rude—and that's absolutely true. She was very rude and lacked basic manners in the way she communicated with customers. And just to be clear, I'm a local—not a tourist expecting 5-star treatment. Not recommended at all. As for the food, the taste was just so-so—nothing special, but quite expensive, to be honest.

Had dry and wet fried noodles in the afternoon. Wet type slightly different from others. Both are good. Mee does not taste of alkaline water, which I like. Morning, would have 'liu' eg tauhu, small bites, economy mee & bihun. I stopped having the tauhu 'merah' here. Both times had very bad food poisoning. Washroom, hehe, just like any small town coffee shop. Just piss and go. Don't look🙈

Local food . The chilli and soy sauce helps to add flavour to the noodles. Liked the texture of the noodles. It's quite packed with locals so please bear in mind that this is not a place to have a quick meal . Be prepared to wait. Service was nice . They don't call it Tuaran Mee here .Its called Mee Goreng.

I had the seafood fried noodles. It was pretty good. Stumbled on this place when the neighbouring coffee shop was closed. The place was quite packed. And I enjoyed it. However, 15 minutes later I had a MSG attack. Which explains why the noodles were good. Haven't had the msg attack for a long time.

Mostly crowded during peak hours, especially in the evening/dinner. Food portion & the prices is average. Staff are quiet slow in responding to customers requests. Hygiene still can be improved

A simple Chinese restaurant with good home cook style dishes. We ordered veggie stir fried which is delicious, seafood clay pot, sour pork knuckles & fish maw soup with steam rice. Soup is a little blend but other dishes r great. Definitely will be back to try their fried noodles & other dishes.

Look at the portion of the pork rib rice, 4 tiny little slices of pork rib and yet they charge RM11.50 per plate. You will end up spend another dollar to buy others food just to fill up your stomach. By the way don't cheated by the source and the vege behind it.

Service is very bad, food Isn't bad but your only allowed a few options even though it written on the menu. I ask for long bean, they say no, bitter melon, also no, kai lan, also no. Only option is to have the choi sum but I specifically order pork and they serve me seafood(only few pieces of small prawn, and they were already bad. I inform the staff and they refuse to admit their mistake. After the meal as I was leaving I notice they did have the items that I requested place in the back. Why even bother making a menu if you limited the option customer can choose? Will be my first and the last time I try.

It is a favourite restaurant which my husband and I frequent regularly. Dishes has a lot of wok hei. Service is fast. We have tried several dishes and have not been disappointed so far. Prices are reasonable and generous portions. We love their vinegar pork, yam pork and brinjal. Beaufort Lido is better than Beaufort in Luyang Hilltop.

Although the shop is named after Kuching Laksa, the dish here was disappointing. The broth lacked the expected spiciness, tanginess, and coconut milk richness. The two tiny shrimps tasted bland and seemed frozen before cooking … ☹️ However, the Konlo Mee with Roast Pork, BBQ pork, and minced meat was decent and reasonably priced.

Sarawak kolo mee was well seasoned, slightly soggy. Medium size serving .For rm8, it's well worth it. Sarawak laksa was average, broth was a bit weak, won't be running back here for the laksa.

The laksa appears to be of standard quality, however, the prawns appear to have been frozen prior to cooking.

The name of the place describes it all. The Laksa served at this place is as close as it gets to Kuching, Sarawak Laksa. The kolo mee and chicken rice is also quite delicious. A very recommended place to try while in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Not my favourite Kuching Laksa. The soup is lack of something, takde ohm. And it's watery. Kuching laksa soup should have the 'sandy' feeling. Also they provide just chilli paste and not sambal. Sambal and Laksa go hand in hand mar, give me back my sambal pls. One thing though their soup is served REALLY hot. 👏 Chinese would appreciate it. Coriander is served separately, u can add as your preference. Also, I think the price is reasonable. RM10 for medium size, the portion is just nice for me.

Stopped by Meet Coffee Cafe and was really impressed! The cafe has a cozy and welcoming vibe, perfect for a quick coffee break or sitting down with friends. I ordered a latte, and the coffee art was absolutely beautiful — the pattern was so pretty I almost didn’t want to drink it. The iced latte was smooth and refreshing, with just the right balance of coffee and milk. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and I love that they also have light meals and promotions like the custard cream puff add-on. Definitely a great hidden gem in Kolombong — I’ll be coming back for sure!

An oddly placed cafe amongst the tire and workshop in kolombong. Yet the ambience is good for lepaking. Chit chats with friends and families. The food is normal menu with no wow factor. Acceptable. Price is acceptable for a cafe. Don't compare with kedai kopi, of course the price is too very big of a difference. Service is good, no issues.

This is a cute little shop tucked away in a neighborhood of auto repair shops and auto parts. You would hardly notice it if you didn't know there was a coffee shop here. I ordered a peppermint tea to drink first. They have both a cup and a refillable pot. I also ordered a spaghetti tom yum for lunch. The staff were lovely and spoke easily about the food and drinks. They were also very friendly and smiling. The toilets were clean and there was an upstairs seating area.

I really love the atmosphere and the staff here sangat accommodate my dietary. The girl suggested me to replacement and i love her suggestion. I took the photo as proof ok! The portion is big and really satisfying. Adding in my weekend yamcha! Recommended!

Flat white … Amazingly good delicious because I can really really taste the roast coffee ☕️. Really can say that’s a good cup of joe haha. The ham & cheese croissant 🥐 is ok right amount of toast, right amount of cheese and right amount of sauce, make a just nice sandwich croissant haha. At the end of the meal, I did enjoy and chill.

(14.9 2024) I regret spending money on this restaurant. Ordered hamburg steak and I get a boiled patty drowning in a sad mixture of water and mushroom. Doesn't taste good at all. It's Insanely different from the illustration . For a restaurant serving Japanese dish, this is definitely a let down. Another one I ordered omurice, but honestly it's just a thin fried egg and you can even see whites on it! For that price and this kind of food is definitely not worth it. Bet your chef never eaten good Japanese food. Better not call yourself a Japanese restaurant! Hinode? 日の出? More like '日の入り' because my hope for good food definitely died here. The atmosphere and interior is good but that does nothing if the food is very bad. Service is so-so. What a disappointment. 👎👎👎👎👎

Not worth and there is no second time. Quite disappointed with the portion compared to the price we pay. It’s not the only Japanese restaurant in KK so we can compare the price, the freshness, the portian and the flavor. We ordered *Seafood Salad* which just a normal and a bit fancy, *Beef with onions* where you can see more onions and my husband really disappointed especially he is Japaness food lover and love to eat beef. My daughter ordered *Ramen* and the soup just so so not that flavorful compare to the price we pay 🤦🏼‍♀️. Luckily the staff very friendly and we know they just do their job. But honestly, I’m not recommended it unless you don’t mind all that.

When I politely called to inform them, the woman on the phone immediately hung up the moment I mentioned it. I tried calling multiple times, but they refused to answer. This place doesn’t just lack professionalism—they also have zero respect for their customers. The waiter straight-up lied about portion sizes, telling me my order was fine for one person when in reality, it was a family-sized meal. Just another way they try to scam people. The restaurant next door is 100 times better—better service, and they actually care about their customers. This place is a joke, and it’s clear they don’t care about hygiene, honesty, or basic decency. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

It’s next to the hotel that I’m staying and I have a craving for Japanese food. Very very good ambience and the food is decent. Tbh, the price is relatively high to the food in Sabah, but given the atmosphere and food quality, I would say it’s worth it. Last but the least, the staff are very friendly and welcoming!

Pretty decent Japanese in town, the ingredients are fresh and the service ia professional. Came for the lunch set the the quantity is more than enough. Also had agadashi tofu with seaweed sauce which was quite interesting, bit of fusion twist.

Mentaiko chazuke was firstly served in hot and it wasn’t disappointing because it brings back memories when I was food hunting at the Kuromon fresh market of Osaka. Simple dish that could go sideway easily if Did ordered sashimi assortment which eventually go downhill. Definitely can tell the tuna and salmon are not very fresh and slices don’t have a clean cut that eventually lead to the damages to the meat. For the same price value in comparison, I would think twice again in the future. Hamachi and scallops are fresh and yum though. It’s a notable great challenge to serve fresh sashimi especially the customer group isn’t large, and customers are not ordering sashimi in regular basis in the city. Waiters and waitresses are very well-mannered and alert to customer. That’s a bonus worth to mention.

Very good food. Fish was fresh and oysters as well. We did the mistake to chose a "mildly spicy" sauce which for us (europeans) was a little bit spicy, but nevertheless a good experience. Definitely recommended!

Mediocre dishes, steamed fish was too bland and not enough salt or soy sauce to bring out the flavor. Marmite chicken was watery. Only one tour of fish avail on that night. Not cheap either. Rm250 for for dishes. No soap for washing hands

The classic pan mee soup invoked waves of nostalgia with every spoonful, while the dry chili pan mee ignited our taste buds with its bold flavors. However, the Korean-style black pepper pork rice failed to leave a lasting impression, offering a taste that was merely ordinary amidst the extraordinary flavors of its companions.

Handmade pan mee is not always easy to come by, and this early morning spot does an excellent job of it, with the mixed fish ban mian being a must-try for lovers of fish balls and 鱼滑 like myself. It’s quite a hot and stuffy space to enjoy hot soup noodles, and the drinks are hit and miss but I would definitely come back for my food order!

The broth is very good. Authentic and feels home made. I ordered the hand made one with soup. Other then the smooth n silky pan mee for my breakfast there is nothing else worth noticing. Service wasnt friendly. Self service for utensils and sauces(not much choice) Rm9.50 per bowl of original. I like that the shop starts operation early int he morning. Bonus for my gastronomic walkabout KK town. Off to the wet market now.

Oysteregg Prawn w Rice was so so and in a big portion. Its enough for two person. If you are a lady, that kinda rice portion is not for us. Fried Indo Mee is just average. Barley and Honey Lemon was spot on. Kuih muih is delicious because its not sweet because I am that girl that doesn't like sweet things. The Mochi Gula Melaka is soft and gentle to the palate, the Ubi Kayu is the first I ever taste without sweetness, maybe a little bit. Love it! Since buy 2 free 1, I chose Kuchi Kelapa. Its like Kuih Lenggang. A bit sweet but still delicious.

Second time here. The first time, we bought mochi gula melaka,it's just sweet with no aroma of gula melaka. Giving chance for 2nd time,i bought peanut mochi, same also. It's just pure sweetness with no balance between savory and sweet. You can even see the coarse sugar granules in the photo. The other one was kuih koci, too big of a size. The taste is slightly tolerable. The sizes were too big for a manisan. When someone made their food in gigantic size, they don't care about the quality or the details. I have a feeling they won't last long. Otherwise, service was okay on both times.

I don't really wanna give 1 star review but this is the only way people would read my review and be warned. I wouldn't even have tried your shop if it wasn't that one moment a colleague "tapau" your cucur udang, kelupis and lenggang and had me to try some. I gotta admit at that time, I was so shocked cause it was the best kueh/taste I ever tasted. So that's why I decided to brought my friends to try other food and the kueh today. I was actually worried even from the start because I know how hard to keep the taste consistent. And so we ordered the cucur, lenggang, kelupis, 3 main dishes which was chicken butter rice, nasi ayam penyet and nasi lemak special as well as 3 drinks (chinese tea, soy milk and kopi) Long story short here are our ratings: The 3 kueh: 4/10 (very disappointed as it was not the same from I first tasted it which is only from 2 days ago) Chicken Butter Rice: -1/10 (the worst butter chicken we ever tasted, not sure if the recipe is "special" or "family recipe" but , nah. nah. absolutely nah.) Nasi ayam penyet: 3/10 (the sambal saved the dish, barely. Oh and, your chicken is not fresh.) Nasi lemak special: 2/10 (again the sambal saved the dish. The fried chicken is super dry and bland. Next, beef in the rendang could have been more tender and the rendang itself lacks the aroma which I'm pretty sure is crucial to the dish. And the rice.. yes it's fragrant and tasty but the texture oh man.. the chef should learn from the basic eh, the rice was too soft and actually kinda ruined the overall dish. For Rm27 something.. it's really not worth it. The drinks: kopi could be more kaw and less sweet as per requested but I think they forgot but sokay. Homemade soymilk is kinda "watered down" kinda taste, tasted better. We're not writing these reviews to condemn your business, we just wanna share our experiences to other future consumers so they are.. "prepared" Ps: not sure why my review is being "hide"

When I tried to get the attention of one of the staff, I called out “Miss, miss” quite loudly as she walked past me, but she completely ignored me. The Tuaran seafood noodles were nice. However, the waiter missed my friend’s order and insisted that we didn’t make that order. So, when we followed up, they treated it as an add-on. We had to wait a long time, and even after checking with them, they said it would take at least another 10 minutes since it was considered an add-on. Additionally, the chicken breast was undercooked, and taste-wise, it wasn’t a good choice for us. The Lihing Tuaran noodles tasted good, just slightly oily. The place is divided into two sections, one mainly serving Tuaran mee and the other focusing on Hock Chew red wine noodles and other dishes. it’s a shared space, but if you sit on a specific side, you better order at least one of their dishes, which I think is fair enough. The regular Tuaran noodles come with pork slices. The noodle portion is small, but the amount of pork is quite generous. No harm in giving it a try!

The Tuaran Mee was just average … nothing really stood out in terms of flavour or texture. On the other hand, the soup noodles topped with roast pork were actually pretty tasty. The broth had a nice depth of flavour, and the roast pork added a rich, savoury touch. But it was a bit on the oily side, which might not be for everyone.

I ordered Tuaran Mee Lihing seafood+ mee + liao (more meats). Turned out 3 small prawns and 4 thin fish slices for RM23. I don't mind the price if served with thicker fish and large/ medium-sized prawn.

I was quite disappointed with the portion size of the Tuaran Mee I ordered via Grab. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to check it immediately as I was rushing for a flight. When I finally did, I found the portion surprisingly small considering the price (RM 14 on Grab app). The taste and texture were both average—not particularly impressive. Overall, the value for money just wasn’t there. You should be ashamed of yourself!
