Restaurant
Yee Fung Laksa is a renowned restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, known for its delicious laksa and beef noodle soup. The beef broth served with flat noodles, beef slices, tripe, stomach, tendon, and more has a smooth and clear texture with a strong beefy flavor. While the laksa is not very spicy compared to typical Southeast Asian dishes, it offers a unique taste and consistency. The restaurant provides quick service in an open and airy setting.
The Laksa king is actually very nice! Huge servings and very reasonable price. There is a very long queue but the staff are very organized and very hospitable so there is no chaos in the store. The staff are super friendly and the food is very good. Definitely a 5/5 and would highly recommended specially their Laksa King!
Josh — Google review
Well organised systematic Cafe with great food and even better Kaya! Best kaya i have ever tasted. Smoky and good flavour of caramelised brown sugar.
Joan L — Google review
My family and I really enjoyed the laksa. It was mildly spicy and flavourful. The broth was thick and rich and absolutely tickled our palates. We also ordered kaya toast and it must be one of the tastiest ones I’ve had. However, the ngau chap noodles was somewhat disappointing and tasted watered-down. It unfortunately brought down the dining experience at Yee Fung Laksa a few notches. Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable time and would highly recommend this place to anyone who’s in Sabah for a visit.
Candice C — Google review
Local specialty laksa. (And to be clear, the laksa is not the same as what you get in Singapore or Penang). The version here has a distinct curry flavor and deeper umami. Lines may be long but very efficient. There is a regular serving and "King" serving size, with the latter having shell on large prawns (vs smaller prawns). Fresh and flavorful, but you decide if you want to peel by hand! The chili sauce on the side is very nice too. Wash it all down with a iced preserved lemon or plum drink.
Paul C — Google review
One of the best noodle always here if visited this place, plus their price is reasonable too. Food is consider good as well. Just that sometime there is long line of people waiting for table, but can see they are very good in organizing it included advance order and very quick serve your food.
David ( — Google review
Came here to try their laksa and it didnt disappoint! Though its not very hot and noodle portion is abit small. Their fish ball was OK but the dry noodles was cooked too long as its soft and mushy. Place is quite packed with people so you might need to queue depending on the time you visit. Staffs here are very friendly and you will need to order at the counter.
Chen — Google review
The laksa soup was okay, but I was a bit disappointed with the prawns. I ordered the larger prawns, but unfortunately, they weren’t fresh. I was expecting fresher seafood in Sabah! The beverage was good though…sorry, I forgot the name! Hahahha
Tracy A — Google review
Came here because of the high ratings. Came here for breakfast. Super crowded. The laksa is acceptable but not the best. Felt like the soup is quite diluted. Not flavourful. Fishball is great. Overwhelmed by the extremely efficient and fast service. Shop has AC but due to the hot weather it feels like no AC. So hot that we had to leave immediately after as it’s too humid.

Borneo Pan Mee is a popular Hakka noodle dish in Sabah, Malaysia. The wheat noodles are hand-torn into bite-sized pieces and served in a flavorful anchovy broth with ground pork and vegetables. It's known for its authentic homemade taste. This cozy spot offers delicious options like the dry chili pan mee and soup, both of which are highly recommended. The family-run eatery provides a quiet and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy this local specialty.
Very pleasant little spot with quiet, efficient service. Great flavours and nicely textured noodles.

Wisma Sabah stands tall as a historic landmark in KK, while the shop might not boast the same storied history, its culinary prowess is undeniable. We indulged in both the classic pan mee soup and the tantalizing dry chili pan mee, each dish a testament to the shop's culinary mastery. The classic pan mee soup invoked waves of nostalgia with every spoonful, while the dry chili pan mee ignited our taste buds with its bold flavors. However, the Korean-style black pepper pork rice failed to leave a lasting impression, offering a taste that was merely ordinary amidst the extraordinary flavors of its companions.
Nick — Google review
Handmade pan mee is not always easy to come by, and this early morning spot does an excellent job of it, with the mixed fish ban mian being a must-try for lovers of fish balls and 鱼滑 like myself. It’s quite a hot and stuffy space to enjoy hot soup noodles, and the drinks are hit and miss but I would definitely come back for my food order!
Jessie Y — Google review
The broth is very good. Authentic and feels home made. I ordered the hand made one with soup. Other then the smooth n silky pan mee for my breakfast there is nothing else worth noticing. Service wasnt friendly. Self service for utensils and sauces(not much choice) Rm9.50 per bowl of original. I like that the shop starts operation early int he morning. Bonus for my gastronomic walkabout KK town. Off to the wet market now.

Quiet, cosy place run by a small family. Food is tasty. We chuckled when we saw the Korean words at the door 손칼국수... because it's true! Pan mee = kalgugsu

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Welcome Seafood Restaurant is a popular eatery with multiple locations in Kota Kinabalu, including one in Inanam. With over 8,000 Google reviews, it's known for serving the freshest seafood like fish, crabs, prawns, clams, oysters, and sea snails prepared in various ways. The restaurant is always bustling with hungry customers eager to savor their delicious offerings.
June 2025 Revisit this place due to our previous dining experience a couple years ago. Great selection of seafood and some choices will sold out on a busy day. Their signature dishes are wonderfully prepared. This is a large operation restaurant and well executed. Grouper was good. Shell fish was delicious. Crab ok. Samba veggie was outstanding. My rating 5 as very satisfied Taste 5/5 Temperature 4/5 Attentiveness and courteous 4/5 Cleanliness 3/5 this is just part of the environment Speed of service 3/5 one of our tofu dishes arrived very late, we almost finished our dinner and wondering did they forget our order. Will I revisit? Yes Will I recommend? Yes.

We had a very nice dinner at Welcome Seafood Restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, and it certainly delivered on its promise of fresh, flavorful seafood. The clams were simply gorgeous, and the tiger prawns were equally delicious — cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The kids especially enjoyed the lobster and the noodles, which were both rich in taste and generously served. The menu offers a wide variety of seafood options, making it a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a true seafood feast in KK. The atmosphere was lively, service was efficient, and the overall value was excellent. If you’re in Kota Kinabalu and craving seafood, this place achieves exactly what it sets out to do.
Purple K — Google review
The Welcome Seafood Restaurant is absolutely massive, spanning an entire building block. Seating is available indoors and outdoors, with some spaces being airconditioned and others cooled by fans. You select your food prior to being seated, aided by a board that shows you photographs of the array of available dishes. Reassuringly, the food isn't frozen, because once a dish has sold out, it gets taken off the menu. Although they sell chicken dishes, we stuck with, and were really impressed by, the freshness of the seafood. The stir fried seafood noodles were particularly good, as were the softshell crab and dry butter prawns. The friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the tables, and quality of the food all contributed to making eating here a real pleasure.
Richard W — Google review
Visited for two consecutive nights — excellent seafood experience in KK! On our first visit, we tried their signature crab with special sauce. The sauce was rich and flavorful, but the crab itself was average — decent meat quality, though not as thick and firm as Sri Lankan crab, and the shell was a bit soft. We ordered tiger prawns on both nights — large ones the first night, medium-sized the second. Personally, I loved the butter prawns — perfectly seasoned, creamy, and fragrant. The garlic prawns were also delicious. The prawns were definitely fresher and tastier than the crab — highly recommended! We also tried their large clams: the first night cooked in soup, the second stir-fried with garlic. Both were outstanding — fresh, plump, and full of natural sweetness. Another must-try dish is the salt and pepper squid — tender, crispy, and well-seasoned without being overly salty. Overall, the seafood quality at Da Jia Lai Seafood Restaurant is impressive, with reasonable prices and a huge dining area that spans almost an entire street. There’s both air-conditioned indoor seating and outdoor tables to choose from. Staff are polite and attentive. If you’re in KK, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Had a very enjoyable dinner at Welcome Seafood Restaurant in Kota Kinabalu. The seafood is fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. We especially liked the squid , prawns and crabs, which were well-prepared, while the vegetables added a nice balance to the meal. The restaurant offers a wide selection of seafood dishes, so there’s something for everyone. Service was generally attentive, The atmosphere is lively and bustling, which adds to the charm, but it can feel slightly crowded. Prices are reasonable for the quality and variety offered. Overall, a great spot for seafood lovers in KK — definitely worth a visit.

Let's start with the food first... 1. Red grouper steam in special sauce - the sauce overpowered the fish, didn't taste any freshness 2. Deep fry squid - crunchy, not bad 3. Crab dry butter milk - Nicely done, it's nice 4. Prawn Kam Heong - Prawns are fresh, nice 5. Clam soup - Watery, not much fresh seafood taste 6. Seafood tofu - quite bland by itself 7. Mongolian chicken - Nice, fry crisply 8. Stir fry vege - Just normal There is a paid parking within the complex. Customer service and establishment hygiene is ok. Overall it's ok but nothing extraordinary.

Food was nice. I usually made prior booking vi la their what apps number. I spoke to Ms Ching. If you want to come here, you can book directly to her, check my photo for the number. Depends on ur budget, I usually tell her how much is my budget. Example, I have rm200 for dinner 3pax, she will suggest me what food I can order. So far I always satisfy with her selection. The selection include steam prawn, white clam soups, fuyong dan because my son love eggs, kamhiong crab, siakap or kerapu fish, and veggies. Then sides order will be the coconut water and Chinese ping (not include in the rm200). So bear in mind, the more varieties of drinks u order, the more expensive it will be. So the best is just order Chinese tea ping. I hope this will help u as a beginner. But if u have lots of money , no worries u can order all types of seafood they have. Then, the things i think they should improve is… the customer service. I do understand it’s a busy restaurant , some staffs are dedicated but last time im facing this 1 lady who try to avoid from customer, she seems lazy. Maybe she should resign and stay home and just sleep. Overall this restaurant is nice. I like this restaurant . I just hope they will improve the services and the toilet too. Omg the toilet is horrible! Please improve it by at least clean it consistently and make sure the floor is always drive and smells good. I haven’t check the kitchen.. but I’m scared to check because I’m sure it’s smell fishy . But remember, clean restaurant will never smell fishy. Donald trump says, if the restaurant door is dirty, means the kitchen is also dirty. But I would say if the toilet is dirty, 💯the kitchen is faulty too. So becareful with what u eat if you have sensitive stomach. Ok bye.

Seafood Restaurant… that serves Fresh Fish 🐟 , Lobsters 🦞, Prawn and Shell Fish. All the different types are good. BBQ is off for me as the fish was cooked and then BBQ with chilli sauce. ( only 1 side has the samba chilli) Totally different from standard BBQ. Tea was good and rest is history.

Restaurant
Borenos Fried Chicken, located in Asia City, Kota Kinabalu, is a popular halal-certified eatery known for its delicious and crispy fried chicken. The restaurant takes pride in marinating the chicken just right and using excellent breading techniques to lock in aromatic flavors. They ensure that only fresh, locally sourced chicken is used, guaranteeing a delectable taste like no other. One of their signature dishes is the Full Spring Chicken, cooked to perfection without being oily.
This fried chicken spot came highly recommended by a local, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was freshly fried and served piping hot, making it juicy, tender, and flavorful. I ordered the 2-piece chicken set meal with Sprite (RM20.80), which included a side of coleslaw and mashed potato. The coleslaw was fresh and creamy—one of the better ones I’ve had in Sabah—while the mashed potato had a slightly grainy texture that might appeal to those who enjoy a more rustic feel. Personally, I still find other fast food options, like KFC’s, slightly more to my taste in terms of smoothness, but this one was still satisfying in its own way. I also tried the a la carte chicken burger (RM7.50). While the patty was served warm and fresh, the overall flavor didn’t stand out as much compared to other burger chains, but it’s still a decent option. Overall, I’d recommend coming here for the fried chicken set meal, as the chicken was definitely the highlight—crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside, and well-seasoned. The service was friendly, and the dining environment was clean and comfortable. It’s a great spot for fried chicken lovers!
Yue A — Google review
Atmosphere - clean & tidy environment with good ventilation (one does not get the oily smell on the body, hair & clothing dining inside the restaurant). There is also a separate lounge nearby (about 15 - 20 meter away) for big group dining, etc. Service - very good cashier & kitchen staffs. The supervisor/manager in black shirt helps to clear tables & served customers at waiting tables. Food - even though there is only 1 type of fried chicken flavour, it is enough as the fried chicken is very tasty. Fried chicken is served with Borenos sauce/gravy (similar to the whipped potatoes gravy) which made the chicken even tastier (no need chilli & tomato sauces, the gravy itself is good enough). The Normal Coke that came with the set meal can be exchanged with with Zero Coke without incurring any extra cost (Other fried chicken brands will normally put additional fee to this changed of drink request) - RESPECT - for not being greedy! Hope Borenos can expand to many more places (Tuaran? 😉 ) & maintaining the good standards all the time!

Awesome place to try fast-food. In my taste, they have better chicken burger than the other established fast-food companies. If I had the stomach, I would've tried other items in their menu too. The additional good thing about this particular branch, they have a lounge, which is a few stores down from the ordering counter, which is big and enough to hold bigger groups.
Mohamed R — Google review
I visited this fast food store while travelling and tried their 2-piece fried chicken for lunch. The taste was just okay, but about an hour later I started feeling bloated, burping constantly with a disgusting smell that made me feel nauseous. I ended up vomiting and having diarrhea. Another hour later, I reached the airport and had to run to the toilet to vomit again — and even after my flight, I vomited a third time. I finally reached home at 11:30 PM and vomited for the fourth time. The burping smell was still the same and made me feel sick every time. The worst part is that I wasn’t the only one — all four of us who ate there had the same symptoms. My partner even had a fever and chills while pooping through the night. Definitely never going to try this place again. Eat here at your own risk!

Sounds famous so have a try. Have to say the chicken is very perfect. Delicious and juicy chicken for every bite. And the chicken is well fried.

Keng Wan Hing is a well-established restaurant located along Gaya Street, known for its delectable steamed and baked buns. With over a decade of operation, this eatery offers a variety of noodles, bao, and buns that are freshly made daily. The pineapple bun is particularly famous for its crunchy exterior and soft interior filled with buttery goodness.
A friend of mine recommended this place to me and I have come back every time I have the chance. The pastries are amazingly delicious and their price is cheap! I also liked that it has a traditional touch and that it has been around since 1984. It is very busy early in the mornings (around 7-8 am) so I would recommend going there around 9 am if you want to sit. Otherwise you can always take your order to take away and enjoy your breakfast next to the coast line with the views.
Irbin I — Google review
A hidden gem! We found this quaint eatery while walking around our hotel. Trying out local bakeries has been one of my favorite things when going on trip and we were lucky enough to spot Keng Wan Hing just near our hotel. They offer quite an assortment of bread from fried, baked, and even steamed. All of the bread we tried (and we tried a lot!), my favorites include the black sesame bread and beef curry bread. My partner on the other hand really enjoyed their buttermilk and peanut butter breads! We had to go back the following day just to order more while we were still at Kota Kinabalu. Do check them out as we also saw they offer some rice and noodle dishes aside from bread. We didn’t get to try but the locals seem to enjoy them!

Slightly overated. Food average. Drink average. Price acceptable for Gaya Street area. Self-service - order & pay at yhe cashier point, & pick up at food/drink counter. On Sunday morning, most of the regular customers will come & have their breakfast here

Most of the people queue here for their freshly baked sweet filled bread with various fillings like butter, red bean paste tau sar or some porky flavour char siew bun. Also, they have pineapple filling bun too, which can be sold out fast fresh from oven. For dine in patrons, they serve various noodle dishes. I did a few times dined in but i just prefer the buns and bread, the food here is as mediocre as other establishment nearby.
Ianhung L — Google review
Place: a classic style Chinese shop that specialises in buns, such as steamed buns (red bean paste, braised pork, big or small) eggs tarts, pineapple buns, etc. Expect the famous foods to be sold out by 9.30am, so the early bird catches the worm, or in this case, buns. Service: self order, self pick up, even for the food and drinks at the counter. They accept cash and duitnow. Food: I didnt get to try their famous egg tart. So, my review is only limited to what I have tried. 1. Wanton noodle: the noodles texture was very soft and sticky, making this a brand new experience taking wanton noodles that im used to. There is no pickled green chilli which im used to, so that's a down side for me. The dumpling filling was so tiny and the batter was huge. Verdict: average at best 2.5/5. 2. Beef noodles soup: the flavour here is power packed and rich with herbs. Excellent! The noodles are fairly standard. The beef slices are tender and fall off upon contact. Verdict: 4/5. 3. Pork noodles soup: the same soup used for the wanton dumplings soup is used here. Nothing special. Moving on. Verdict: 2/5. 4. Char siew pao: this steamed pork bun is clearly homemade, from the bread dough, to the fillings which are really lean! I love it. The slight lack of seasoning makes this experience somewhat wanting. Verdict: 4/5. Worth coming back for this again.

We initially thought we would have to pack these buns back to the hotel, but seeing available seats, we decided to dine in. It turned out to be a great choice! Among the items we tried, the pineapple bun (RM1.80) was a standout. Unlike the usual versions, which are either plain or butter-filled, this one had an actual pineapple-flavored filling. It truly lived up to its name—pineapple bun! The filling was refreshing and slightly tangy, making it unique and delightful. However, as shown in the picture, the buttery crust on top was quite crumbly and tended to fall apart after a bite, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We also ordered a char siu bao (RM2.50), which was equally impressive. The filling was flavorful and well-balanced, encased in soft, fluffy dough. It was so good that we decided to pack more before leaving. We got the pork bun (RM2.50) and one egg tart (RM1.50) to enjoy later, and both were exceptional. The pork bun was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor—an absolute must-try. The egg tart, however, completely stole the show. It was silky smooth, with a perfectly balanced sweetness and a crisp, flaky crust. I deeply regret packing only one because it was hands down better than any I’ve had in West Malaysia. And at such a reasonable price, it’s an unbeatable deal. This shop, established in 1984, has truly stood the test of time, and it’s easy to see why. Everything here was reasonably priced, and the quality lived up to the reputation of this old establishment. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this spot—it’s a gem for anyone who loves traditional buns and pastries. We will definitely return for more!

For four days in a row I had my morning coffee and a bun or three here. They are fresh, soft, with great flavours and a lot of filling. I have not tried anything else, but the pastry is 10/10! Come early as they only have as many!

Long queue at Bun's Corner, so we walked straight to Noodles/Drinks Counter to order our food. Its all self service. Had the curry mee..soup is sweet, no curry flavour, noodle is soggy and prawns are not fresh. Beef Beehoon broth is flavoursome but meat tasted overnight , all disintegrated. Queue for some pineapple buns to takeaway. Had the char siew bun, not that good, it didnt not have the char siew aroma! All in all not a good breakfast experience here !! Kedai Makan Islamic Restoran is a must-visit Mamak eatery, offering an array of delectable dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of its standout offerings is the Roti Cobra, a delightful combination of roti canai served with a soft sunny side up egg and rich chicken curry.
Excellent and plenty choices of food . Udang galah goreng rm15 each but other stall is rm20. Rice plus vege rm4.50. Total rm19.50. Normally, you cant find big sotong or big prawn in chinese food stall. But It would be better if serve hot and warm. Nevertheless, it still a good outlet to hv a quick lunch.

Came across this place via a kota kinabalu food blog, and was staying locally so decided to check it out. Staff were super helpful (I was a very confused - and hungry - tourist) and recommended the chicken roti cobra. It was absolutely phenomenal. Im currently sat with an empty plate in front of be and weighing up a second order. Definitely recommend! And makes me wonder what other treasures this food court is hiding 😋

Recommend for trying local food! I tried Roti Cobra with lamb and other one with beef. Both of them were cooked right. A bit spicy but not so much. They serve food very fast

Food was awesome, and super affordable. There is a sitting area that is designated for their patrons. Had roti cobra beef, biryani with beef, two iced lychees, and two plain rotis. Came out to 27.1 MYR. The rotis were phenomenal, even if you come for just a snack. Cant beat it

Came here based on some YouTube vlog recommendations. The Roti Cobra Ayam (chicken) is better than the beef (Daging) version. The curry that soaked the roti canai tasted the same to or both is average and is on the salty and chilli hot side. The roti cobra also came with a small serving of winged beans to help provide some relief from the curry. Ok to try to tick the bucket list in KK. A bit tricky to find using Google maps as you will need to enter the mall and head to the food court in the basement and at the far end nearer the escalator.

I was a little worried after seeing the last review, but I thought I'd still give it a shot as I wanted to try some roti in Malaysia. I'm glad I came and tried anyway! We had a Roti cobra with fish and a sardine murtabak. I can only compare with the legendary Roti king in London and I would say it is very comparable. The only difference is that the slice of fish we got is a little dodgier than the fish you would get in London (had some dried blood bits and some organ looking thing in the cross section of fish, but the meat itself tasted good). Curry sauce was delicious and so was the roti! And for the price (about a quarter of UK price) I think it is very reasonable! If you're looking to try some Roti in KK I think this is a good option!

Located in a small town in Malaysia, the Chinese restaurant Xing Wan Pan Mee serves up delicious pan mee noodles with pork, wantons, and pork balls as toppings. The dish is served in a hot broth with local vegetables. Prices are fairly reasonable for this popular chinese restaurant.
Their pan mee is excellent the texture is just right, smooth and chewy. You can choose from four different thickness levels to suit your preference. The anchovy based soup is flavorful and comforting and it pairs wonderfully with their selection of toppings, whether it’s minced meat, meatballs or fish balls. A satisfying and well balanced bowl overall.

Food portion is considered as small. Taste wise is bland. Service is self service. Ordering at the counter, you will encounter "coldness" from the Chinese lady. Otherwise, the other staff is friendlier. Dont let the photo fool you. The plate of noodles look big due to the angle whereas in actual fact it's smaller than my hand. 😅
Philip C — Google review
Old brand of pan mee but when the silverback gorilla has more silver than back, perhaps it's time to retire. This tom yam is so disappointing. It is too bland, like a watered down tom yam. For RM12 and with few thin slices of meat, not worth it at all.
Kenny C — Google review
Xing Wan Pan Mee at Damai Plaza is a total legend! Been around for over 20 years serving super tasty pan mee at wallet-friendly prices. I went for the torn pan mee with mixed soup for RM11 — huge portion and crazy flavorful. The soup was so generous I nearly finished it all

Childhood food. Had it since I’m 15 and it has been almost 20 years. Got to admit. The taste of the broth is still good. However the noodle is alittle harder than usual. But nevertheless, hope they can continue to do well and stay in business for a long long time.

If you like your pan mee soup base to be kaw kaw in taste, this is not the place. It’s mild tasting borderline too mild for me and the chili they serve isn’t the correct type for pan mee. Absolutely no kick and strange tasting when paired with the noodle.

Let's talk about good first 1. Place looks cleanish and tidy. 2. Many people eating = Good food ? Negative 1. All noodle menu posted on wall in chinese. 2. Workers done know Mandarin. 3. Combine 1 and 2 = Hard time ordering for first timer. 4. The flat noodle pan mien is soft and soggy. 5. The meat have some kind of marinade which tasted a bit weird for me. 6. I have wanton in my mixed sang yuk mien which is weird. Shop speciality 6. Portion is too big. Overall I rate this 1 star as I will not come back.

When you find yourself in Kota Kinabalu, make sure to indulge in the delightful experience of Fatty Ngau Chap, a dish that translates to "mixed beef." This hearty bowl features tender noodles swimming in a rich and thick beef broth, accompanied by an assortment of beef cuts including succulent slices, flavorful beef balls, and even some tripe for those adventurous eaters. It's a beloved local favorite that can be enjoyed at various restaurants throughout the city.
I tried their beef with kolo noodles, and the generous toppings definitely justified the price (just RM13 per bowl). A satisfying and value-for-money meal!

This place does beef noodles in the morning and western food in the evening, and now they’ve added chicken rice too. Tried it, but honestly, it was disappointing. The meat didn’t look good, and the taste wasn’t great compared to other chicken rice spots. I had it both dine-in and takeaway, and the taste was inconsistent. Just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Had mixed ngiu chap kon lau mee, big portion soup really nice with the labu(white pumpkin) just a tard little sweet to my liking. 7 out of 10 la.

Beef slice is soft snd tender. Soup lacks the umami flavour.
Lilian C — Google review
Came here on Sunday noon 12.15 , all the farm chicken (B) is sold out, they have only the free range chicken (A) left which is more expensive (rm 14 for mixed chicken rice) Very disappointing, the portion for chicken is very less for an adult, might be enough for a kid. However, the chicken rice is flavourful, not to mention their soup, very yummy. Low rating for the small chicken portion. The beef mihun soup is very yummy .. recommended

Supposed to be famous and delicious place to eat beef noodles. What I am looking for is the thick broth and tender beef. It's goid but I still likes the one in Pekan Mengatal and Keningau.

Breakfast restaurant
Sinsuran Sang Nyuk Mee, also known as Sang Nyuk Mian, is a famous dish in Sabah, particularly in Kota Kinabalu. Originating from Tawau, this pork noodle features thinly sliced pork served on top of noodles with a flavorful pork broth. It is also available with soup or dry stir noodles. The dish offers various protein options such as meatball, intestines, and liver.
Another good sang nyuk mee establishment in Lintas plaza area. You know you are good when you can still survive and thrive here with the tough competition. The noodle is good and comforting old style taste. The pork slice tender and sweet. The soup fragrant with a salty tinge. You cannot go wrong with either dry or the soup version.
SY T — Google review
Went for both soup and dry + the special that includes everything. Very porky bowl of soup with comforting salty taste (I love salty). The fried onions are great, can be better if they provide fried garlic, small red chilli. Also, would suggest to provide some vegetables for different textures. Pork slices are well marinated with perfect thinness. The kidney might have been a bit too 'porky' for personal liking. Overall it is a standard good bowl of pork soup and noodles. Nothing really special, nonetheless a day to day type of food.
Fatdieme — Google review
Sinsuran Sang Nyuk Mee delivers that nostalgic comfort you can’t quite explain — it may not be the most extraordinary bowl out there, but it hits the spot in a familiar, satisfying way. The pork slices are impressively soft and tender, soaking up the subtle yet hearty broth beautifully. The dark soy noodles are straightforward and flavorful, pairing well with the soup for a balanced bite. It's one of those meals you occasionally crave not because it's the best, but because it reminds you of home or simpler times. A comforting go-to when you just want something that feels familiar and satisfying.
Xelcius — Google review
It was pretty good overall. I’m not from Kota Kinabalu, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I found their standards quite passable. The food was decent, and service was okay—nothing outstanding, but nothing disappointing either. It’s a solid choice if you’re in the area and looking for a reliable meal.”
SY L — Google review
There's 2 ways to order this. The soupy version where everything is in it or the semi deconstructed version where you get the dry mee individually and the soup separated in another bowl. I suggest you get the deconstructed version where you can get 2 distinct different taste for the price of one. The dry noodles are tasty, delicious salty oily gravy and smells great. It looks plain but looks can be deceiving. Good enough to be eaten alone to be honest. The soup is yummy. Comes freshly cooked (that's why there's a little wait but worth it) and steaming hot. Contains the famous pork slices, liver, intestine, meatball with self extra ordered kidney. That there's absolutely no offal smell is testament to the incredible preparation done to it before cooked and served to you. The tender pork slices are incredible and that itself is reason to try this dish. Tender, soft and fresh, the meat near literally melts in your mouth with minimal chewing needed. Superb and worth the recommendation to come here. In short, try not to miss this if you are in the area.

Is my first time have it , is delicious and taste perfect. Definitely will recommend friends. The only Sabah have Sang Nyuk Mee .
Christina S — Google review
Always my go to place for sang nyuk men when i work in KK. Personally i feel this is the best among all sang nyuk men in KK. Reference for West malaysian chinese taste I prefer the soup (dried noodle is too sweet and greasy for me). I dont recommend the kuey teow Can request for more fried onion with lard Soup is hot and tasty (salty for some maybe) Add a touch of white pepper in the soup can enchance the taste It is constantly boiling under charcoal fire Chilli sauce is just great to complement the noodle. Parking can be difficult during lunch hours

Tuaran Mee Restaurant is a must-visit for noodle enthusiasts. This iconic dish hails from Tuaran, known for its simple yet intricate preparation involving delicate kneading to achieve the signature springy texture and eggy flavor. Seng Hing Coffee Shop in KK is a popular spot where the dish is fried and adorned with egg roll slices, char siew, or seafood and green vegetables.
First time trying Tuaran Mee! Was brought here by our friend who is local! What an experience! The homemade noodles are unique and have good subtle flavor but explodes once you add the homemade hot sauce! We tried both the normal version and the one with wine. Both are unique and delicious in their own way! A great way to start the day!

Worth the drive from KK! Authentic Tuaran noodles with crispy texture and tasty sweet dried meat. Delicious food + fast service 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Steffie P — Google review
Small shop. Tuaran noodles is their signature but somehow, the noodles and the way it cooks doesn’t seem to be like tuaran noodles. One of the signature is the tuaran noodles yellow wine. For that, the yellow wine tastes so strong. It’s either you like it or dislike it. I prefer the original Tuaran noodles.
FoodiesTravel B — Google review
Food is very good! In my opinion, this is the best spot for Tuaran mee. And to my knowledge, I don’t know anywhere else in KK which offers lihing (local rice wine) Tuaran mee. I love their Tuaran mee texture, flavourful sang nyuk. The lihing was extra strong today! And I always top it off with a sunny side up. The gooey egg yolk just elevates the whole dish 🤤 The portion is huge! Definitely enough for two ladies. The only downside is the environment. It’s an old kopitiam, which gives it a nice vintage, traditional vibe but it’s very very hot 🥵 the cleanliness can also be improved. The attitude of the waitress and the boss is alright. Not very friendly but not rude either. I still go there quite often, and it’s my husband’s favourite whenever he comes to KK. We love the food so much that we’re willing see pass the hot environment 😅 Still highly recommended, especially to tourists 👍🏻 it’s absolutely worth a try!

Ordered Tuaran mee ayam lihing. I didn't expect it was gonna be the almost "basah" type, but it wasn't a problem. The lihing was quite strong, abit surprised, but I wanted it strong anyways. Chicken was roasted, tasted good until I forgot to cicah my lada. Cravings satisfied! There's also one shop that does tuaran mee lihing at delima, but if I'm not mistaken they put lihing in the fish soup instead on the noodle (serve no pork).

Cafe
The Yen Ai cafe is a great spot for authentic Chinese herbal tea and desserts. Families frequent the establishment most of the time, so it's always crowded. The menu offers a variety of choices for herbal tea and sweets, with prices starting to get expensive after recent renovations. The soup here is delicious, with a robust flavor that dominates over the sweetness of the beans. Try the tang yuan (a type of spring roll) during festive season!
Sedap semua. The egg was delicious. Meresap oh the taste. Sea coconut with Longan just nice, not too sweet. The glutinous rice pun favourite. The prawn a bit small but it's ok. Will buy again.
Mas L — Google review
We ordered the Sea Coconut with Longan (RM8.50), Beancurd with Barley (RM7.90), Black Sesame Soup (RM8.90), Pumpkin with Coconut Milk (RM7.90), and Mango Pudding (RM7.50). All the dessert taste OK, though for some I feel it's missing a little something. Maybe can be a tad sweeter, especially the black sesame and pumpkin. But I understand also they are trying to make it healthy, so that's the trade-off. It was full-house at 8pm+ on a Friday night. The temperature is comfortable, though the stools might not be comfortable to sit for a long time. There are seats by the wall if need to lean back. Toilet is located outside, need to open using key hung on the wall. Quite visible. The toilet is reasonably clean. Wet floor, squat type, not much water coming from sink tap. Might try other food in the future. Recommended.

Non-halal. Cons : Food too salty. Been here a number of times and had informed the staff about the saltiness — I always end up with headaches after dining at this place. Foods I ordered are both from the menu and ready-to-eat (on display eg fried noodles, fried chicken wings, fishcakes eat). Pros : Lots of food options, mostly Chinese specialty. I like the herbal beverages - I always get one special drink whenever I caught fever / flu and it actually helped me recover. They sell some noodles, fried rice, kuih / local cakes too but have to be early. Other than that they have in-house menu too such as Nasi Lemak + Curry Chicken. Seats and tables and car park space are very limited though.

Good place to go for some traditional desserts - cold and hot. The udon dish was pretty savoury. It’s a shame about the hot lemon tea drink as it was pretty much instant powder made and doesn’t have much flavour. The ABC was a little bland as well. I would stick to just the desserts here. Place was air conditioned and clean. Parking may be a challenge during peak lunch hour. Various ewallet payment methods accepted.

The owner decided to change the rice to garlic instead plain rice. Not a good combination for bkt and somehow taste not seems right as garlic rice is usually used for chicken rice. . They should give an option for plain or garlic rice. Will be my last visit since they don’t have an option as per the staff.

There are three different soup base to choose from; dry bakkuteh, traditional and the pure thick Klang style bakkuteh. We ordered traditional clay pot bakkuteh rm16.50 per pax. The soup is fragrant with minimal herbal taste, good for those who don’t like thick herbal taste. Less salty and taste good. Rice is fragrant and moist. Overall good 👍🏻

Basically we ordered our food from her recommendation. We ordered both dry and soupy bak kut teh with mix lean and fat pork. Also, ordered tou gee, lettuce and lime juice. All of their dish is nice and satisfying. I love their lime juice too! I’ve never heard of the drink before but I ordered it since the lady staff recommended the sweet and salty taste. My favourite Lei cha in kk.
Lee2 E — Google review
We arrived before 7pm on a Friday, not busy. We ordered "Signature Lei Cha Original", "Veggie, Mushroom, Minced Ganlao Wantan Mee", Ganlao Mee Chicken Legs", and "Qing Bou Leong" (which is some kind of herbal dessert). The Qing Bou Leong was so-so. Lei cha was quite tasty. The soup has a strong peanut taste and not overly minty. Between the two noodles, the chicken feet one is more worthy of the price (both are priced the same). They were quite generous with the chicken feet and the taste is good too. The other one was just mushroom minced pork noodle. I thought there would be wantan, but no, it's just referring to the type of noodle. At RM12.90, this dish is overpriced. The menu is quite extensive, there is something for everyone. The food was reasonably tasty and we are likely to return. Recommended.

Healthy food with affordable price. Easier to find parking during Sunday. Peak hours are crowded. My family ordered “three-colour” pan mee but it came with normal pan mee. We initially thought waitress serve the wrong table. Then, the owner clarified that they are not doing “three-colour” pan mee at the moment due to pandemic 🙂 Neither the waiter who double check our order list or the owner notify us about the changes. Sorry to say, it was unprofessional. Apart from that, Hakka Tea Rice is good. If you don’t like the taste of coriander, please request them not to add it. Their bubur cha cha is delicious! Love it.

That fried noodles carried the long lost char koay tiao taste from Penang, gonna give it a try. As for the soup, that pork is so soft, boiled and the hand torn noodles are so Q and soft. The broth doesn’t have the smelliness or stench of anchovies while having the sweetness of Pan Mee soup. Warm you, no MSG! 😋

Top up on top of your bowl either choice of fried yong tofu ie chili, ladies fingers, taupok, yau char guai etc. It can be served separately after the chrispy air fryer reheating. U r welcome to topped up soup in case your slurp the initial order. KK restaurants respect hygiene by providing self service container of hot water to sterilised your utensils which was common during 1970's. A gd practice indeed. Asian restaurant
Kedai Kopi (Pan Mee) Lido is a charming open-air coffee shop located at Lido Square, where you can indulge in the delightful flavors of traditional Pan Mee. This cozy spot has become a local favorite for its smooth and soft noodles served in a perfectly balanced soup that isn’t overly salty. While the service may be slow during busy times due to limited staff, the experience feels like visiting your neighborhood eatery.
Open-aired coffee shop. Staffs are limited, order can be slow when plenty of customers. Also, parking can be limited. Usually order just soup with its content. Had pan mee & yee mee before. Preferred their pan mee. Soup base is what I would come for. Simple and tasty. It’s like your neighbourhood pan mee shop. So visit here if nearby. Worth the try.

Ordered tomyam, didn't taste like tomyam at all I double confirmed the staff if this was tomyam. She mentioned yes, I don't know where their boss got his chef but it tasted like tomyam more like curry.

(Translated by Google) Overall it was ok. I ordered hand-torn flat noodles, but it was not the traditional hand-torn flat noodles at all, it was 2.5cm wide and 4-5cm long. (Original) 整体还好。我叫的是手撕板面,可是根本就不是传统的手撕,是2.5cm宽4-5cm长手撕板面。

Centra Station Pan Mee is a delightful spot that offers a unique twist on the traditional pan mee with its signature Spinach Pan Mee. This dish not only looks appealing but also boasts health benefits, making it a popular choice among diners. In addition to their delicious noodles, Centra Station Pan Mee provides frozen pork balls and dumplings for those looking to enjoy authentic flavors at home.
Pan mee taste good. I like to come here because it is located inside an air-conditioned shopping mall.

This crushed ice dessert is made by combining shaved ice with beans, jelly, and sweet syrup before being drizzled with condensed milk. It's a refreshing treat that offers a variety of flavors and textures in every bite.
