Went for takeout on a weeknight. They have a decent menu. We ordered fried spring rolls, crab rangoon, sesame chicken, yu hsiang chicken, and soups. The soups were messy and under-seasoned. The crab rangoon are good. The filling is nice. The fillling-crust ratio is a little low, however. The spring rolls are way too greasy, but the flavor is solid. They are large with a well-seasoned cabbage/thread noodle filling. The sesame chicken was good, but without sauce or batter, the chicken was bland. The yu siang chicken was good, a little too sweet, not enough savory. The dish used large slices of breast meat, zucchini, mushrooms, carrot, and onions. The fried rice was standard. I'll probably go back.

Ate here for the first time last night and loved it!! Super casual spot which I loved. The food was amazing and so was the service. We had Mongolian beef, chicken lo mein, egg rolls, and hot sour soup. We will definitely be back soon!

A great experience overall, the food was delicious and staff was so friendly! We called and ordered to go for a large group on Friday night and had a short wait time, the order was accurate and ready when we got there. Egg rolls were amazing as expected, we had a variety of dishes and all were great and nice portion sizes. Appreciated that they had some non-spicy options and clear sweet and sour (assuming dye free), and the crab rangoons were really good and not crabby!

Walked in tonight for the 1st time ever around 7:30 meet the owner he was super nice I asked him to make me something he likes,he made me triple delight and wow!! The flavor was amazing the eggrolls were good and the portions were just the right size for left overs! Thank you for the great food I'll be back

The location isn’t fancy but the owners are delightful, friendly and kind. They are from Laos, and have been in Iowa for 45 years. They have been in business for 23 years. The food is fresh and delicious, and made to order. My husband and I are visiting from Kansas and we were looking for delicious Chinese food and we found it at Sam’s! The egg rolls were hand made, crispy with a flavorful crunchy cabbage filling. My husband said his Mongolian Beef was perfect (and he’s a picky eater!). My garlic chicken with mushrooms and water chestnuts was tender and tasty. Their fried rice was full of flavor and not just salty soy sauce. All portions were large, so there’s leftovers for lunch tomorrow! There are 2 tables if you want to dine in, and the owner’s wife served us with a smile. They seem to do a brisk take-out service as well. I HIGHLY recommend a visit. I would like to try their Laos special dishes next time.

What a wonderful experience! We searched ‘best Chinese food near me’ and Sam’s was the first place that came up. To start, the service was great. Both employees greeted us and were so friendly. We ordered to go and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The eggs rolls did not disappoint and were just as good as all the reviews claim. We also had sesame and generals chicken - both delicious! We will be back!

Friendly greeting immediately upon arriving, interest in how my day was going and name was a higher priority even than the food order! Sam was amazing and I was blown away at the service. Some regulars came in and there were exclamations of joy! Oh, and the food was fantastic. You can stop looking for other places to eat and come here! I had the out of control rolls along with the California rolls and the out of control rolls were exceptional. They were very crunchy and the flavor was incredible. The wait times were not bad roughly 10-15 minutes. Would recommend for a group or as a date.

Just went to this place last night with my girlfriend and had a pretty great experience, I loved the dimly lit ambiance of this restaurant, the booth seating close to the sushi bar, and the feel and environment of this place. We ended up ordering the spicy chicken dumplings as an App along with the miso soup and both were delicious ! Onto our entrees, she ordered the General Tsaos chicken, I ordered the Thai coconut curry cashew shrimp, spicy tuna roll, the spider roll and the crunchy king crab roll. I've eaten ALOT of sushi in my life and for places in Iowa this was some of the best sushi I've had in this state without question ! Everything was very fresh and tasted great , however in terms of that $15 king crab roll I'm not sure if I'd recommend that as the " crab meat " is shredded which threw me off, I was expecting it to come whole but either way it wasn't bad at all !! Our server was very kind and came up with a smile, she did ask how the food was, which is common and of course the food was amazing! Asked if we wanted refills and came back quickly again with a smile (: Our bill came out to $88. And some change, I tipped $32 and we left happy, our server and the staff that was around said thank you for the tip and the business (: Great place , will be coming back !

If you need a place to provide sashimi, sushi, noodles/rice, and chicken, this is a great apron. The large variety of Kenny options ensure something for everyone! That said, we focused on some amazing rolls (standard and special) and I can say the rolls were delectable and generous in person size.

My husband and I live down the street and eat at Wasabi Chi regularly. We have done take out and dined in. Service is always timely and everyone has been friendly. When we do take out the food is always ready on-time and fresh. Dining it, we’ve been served quickly and the servers are friendly. The food is top notch for the area. We’ve probably had about half the menu at this point (no exaggeration) and have never had a bad meal. I enjoy their sushi, squid salad, miso soup, fried rice and Lo Mein the most. Definitely worth the stop!

Calimari was best ever! I am a fan and many do not do right. They know and make perfect! Angry dragon roll was my main and beautiful. Great service with cool decor.

Great sushi, great service! Wasabi Chi continues to serve both with great consistency. Try the lettuce wraps for an appetizer. My Marilyn Monroll was just spicy enough and the Califirnia roll had just the right amount of avocado.

Fav sushi spot in Johnston! I literally always order the same thing: Marilyn Monroll, spicy edamame, and white tuna nigiri. Their white tuna is the BEST white tuna I’ve ever had and I am a sushi connoisseur. Freaking delicious! It is definitely a little overpriced but it’s really good for when you want to splurge.

Went for dinner with friends on a weeknight. It wasn't busy. We sat ourselves. The staff are friendly and helpful. I ordered hot and sour soup, crab rangoon, mongolian beef, and potstickers. The soup was nice, but the portion was too large. The mongolian beef was a little too sweet and not savory enough. The portion of meat was also smaller than expected, and a lot of onions. The crab rangoon never came. The potstickers were nice. They were well-prepared, but the filling flavor was not to my liking. May return to try other menu items.

The lo mein was incredible. I ordered pot stickers & the waitress said 25 minutes. I thought it was a little long but ok with it. It was well worth the wait. She hand makes them per order. Best dumplings I've ever had!

This food was SO good! We were pleasantly surprised and so happy! We got the pho and the pad Thai and it was some of the best we've ever had. Make sure to try the homemade chili oil (only a little! It's HOT) it has incredible flavor.

Wife and I went to this Asian restaurant for dinner one evening after reading some reviews from Yelp and the likes. My wife chose the Chicken Broccoli (Over $10) and we had the Chicken Spring Rolls for Appetizer ($3.95). I had the Combo Pad Thai which included shrimp, beef and chicken ($10.95). I must say that everything was very good and we even asked for them to prepare the meals without MSG. Also, this is one of the first times I have ever eaten Pad Thai and not had to use the chili sauce. In my opinion (IMO) that says much about quality and food taste. Highly recommend to give a try if you want quality, fresh Asian food. Thank for reading.

We've been twice and love their tofu dishes. Lots of Chinese places get the tofu wrong, but Fawn's has got it right. We will always stop when in the area.

The food was hot when it needed to be, there was a lot of variety, and the restaurant was clean as far as I could tell. We came for lunch so it was probably cheaper than usual. We're not huge buffet people but it satisfied our cravings. I do prefer this over the bigger buffet on the west side of town.

We visited the New China Buffet & Grill on Army Post Road on a Saturday evening to scope out this restaurant for an upcoming family celebration. I sampled a wide variety of the foods and found everything hot, fresh, and delicious. I especially appreciate that the restaurant provided disposable plastic gloves at the buffet. Using these helps reduce sharing of germs. Service was VERY prompt. Whenever we finished eating from a plate, it was almost immediately whisked away. The restaurant has 3 "party rooms." One is truly separated from everything else by its own round entry. The two smaller party rooms are basically a large room separated by a partial wall partition. We checked out another Chinese buffet in town that also offered a party room, but unlike the New China Buffet & Grill, that restaurant would not guarantee that we would have the room to ourselves for our event. After looking at both restaurants, we reserved the large party room at the New China Buffet & Grill, with no extra charge for use of the room.

The food was delicious! But one thing that needs to be addressed is the attitude of the employee. I didn’t even finish my food but one lady gave us the bill, she seemed like she shooed us away without looking at my plate.

We are traveling from out of state and decided to give New China a try. I'm so glad we did! The food was really good and even though we arrived at almost 8pm the food was very fresh. If we ever travel this way again, we will definitely stop back by!!

Best Chinese buffet I have managed to find in the state and surrounding states since moving to Iowa. Haven’t had any food from here that I haven’t liked. Love the open sushi bar. Wife and I make it a point to come to Des Moines around lunch just so we can get lunch here when we come out.

Went for a date, pretty good food. Standard fare for a Chinese buffet. I enjoyed everything I ate. Sushi comes with the dine-in buffet, and you get ginger/wasabi with it! I enjoyed the hot and sour soup and the fried rice above all else. As with most buffets, minimal service, but the staff was attentive with our drinks. Everything felt pretty clean too, in spite of how busy it was (Friday night). Would come again!

We have been here several times while visiting our friends in the Des Moines area. This joint offers authentic Nepali food. Our favorites are lamb sekuwa, chowmein and momo. Highly recommended place.

I have been several times and used then to cater an event. The food is authentic and delicious. It is easy to get your own thing or to eat family style and try a variety of dishes. The Land Sekuwa is one of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted.

Is amazing food and amazing service. As much as I like spicy food, Medium was much too hot so be aware of what you ask for. The naan bread was the best I've ever had in my life!

Our favorite restaurant for Indian food. The spices are just right to bring out the flavors. We enjoy going when they have a buffet setup to be able to sample their array of dishes. You can also order off the menu your favorites. Stop by, and you will not be disappointed. You know they are the place to be because of all their customers.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the Des Moines area. The food is consistently amazing, the owners are very nice and welcoming, and the buffet on the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun 11:00-14:00) is almost too good to be true. It’s very fairly priced for the variety and the quality of food offered. I’ve ordered off of the menu too, but the buffet is too good to pass up. I recommend going earlier rather than later, it’s always better when it’s fresh out of the kitchen; plus there seems to be an influx in people around noon. Try it out maybe you’ll become a regular too 😁

We stopped by for dinner at 7:00 on a Thursday. It wasn’t too busy, but there were four or so other tables seated. Service was friendly and we got to pick where we sat. Our waters were full and the food came out very timely. Overall the food was really good. I really enjoyed the garlic naan and the chicken biryani. The portions are great for the price. We got an appetizer and two meals and took home three boxes of food. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

I have been here twice for lunch and once for dinner. The service is consistently great, and the food is always hot and served quickly. I've tried the orange chicken, sesame chicken, and braising pork, and all have been delicious.

Service is amazing but the food is so disappointing, I’ve been going here for years and I got it today for the first time in a long time and to be honest I won’t buy from here again, I wish I got Panda Express and that’s saying something. Worst Chinese place in Des Moines!! This place served me undercooked, raw chicken. This place is a health hazard. I already ate a couple pieces of the chicken before biting into a raw piece. Hopefully I don’t get sick, or else this place may get shut down! Every other item in my order was soggy and stale, except for the soup (hard to mess that up). Spent over $40 here for a pickup order, and left a generous tip. My order was “ready to pick up” in 6 minutes. So, they obviously used leftovers that were sitting all day for my order. This place is a disgrace. Save yourself a trip to the emergency room, and go elsewhere!

I order the empress chicken and beef and broccoli. I usually don't have a issues when I come here, but I got my order (carryout) and the chicken was very mushy.. no veggies. Then the beef an broccoli had a strange taste to it.. I order extra broccoli as well however the broccoli did not taste fresh an crisp. The portion size were well enough, but the quality of the food didnt meet my expectations; vs what the picture looked like on the menu. I placed my order, around 6pm so I was very disappointed when I got home an the food wasn't good!

Fantastic little place for quick eats! Even when they're swamped you get your food lightning fast and the customer service is great. I've never had a chicken corn egg drop soup before and it's honestly a new addiction. Super savory and so satisfying. Their normal egg drop soup is more subtle but also satisfying! I've had their empress chicken and orange chicken thus far, neither on their own are very spicy. If you're a fan of feeling the heat, ask for double or triple the spice on these (they will accommodate)! Had double spiced empress chicken and it was really pleasant; sweet and tangy with the heat on the backend. Really great portion sizes for the price as well, give them a try!

My bf went to get food half hour before they closed they charged him $38 for two meals and a 4 count of crab Rangoon they had him sit there for 10 mins then said they couldn't make the food cuz they were about to close and kept asking to refund him my bf ask then why did u take my order and make me wait and ask why it was so pricey they said it was $15 per person and the menu thats online is a 3rd party menu what does the even mean. the food is bland no flavor even the fried rice all you taste is charred from the pan they used its not edible The chicken & broccoli is like chicken water with barley any chicken the chicken is white. this the worst meal ever never coming here again never had a problem like this before

Because of positive reviews I decided to give China Chef a try. NEVER AGAIN! It’s easy to have a problem in a restaurant, get upset, and write a negative review. This is not the place I’m coming from. I’m writing this to protect the public. I looked at the menu online and had decided on my to-go order before arriving. (Szechuwan Prawns). It was nothing like the description on the menu. The prawns are battered and fried, and are saturated, swimming in a sauce that soaks into the batter and ruins the prawns. Right after ordering, I noticed a table in the corner of the dining area, beside the open drive thru window set up with office supplies like telephones, pens etc, where there was an open bowl of eggroll filling, a pile of egg roll wrappers and a pile of rolled eggrolls and two people making the eggrolls without gloves RIGHT THERE ON THE OFFICE TABLE! I should have cancelled my order right then and there. Instead I got home to find the Prawns were what they were. There was also two eggrolls in the bag which I had NO intention of eating. And the egg drop soup was green. Literally green. Food that isn’t green shouldn’t be green unless there’s something seriously wrong with it. I decided to pack up everything, take it back and demand a refund. At the restaurant I was asked what was wrong. I explained everything. The place is small so every customer was able to overhear what was going on. The transaction was voided so hopefully I won’t see it appear on my card statement. As I went out the door I overheard the man at the counter making derogatory comments about me to other customers. I went to my car and was confronted outside by the man at the counter. He told me he “felt like I was inappropriate.” For telling the truth? I responded. He then makes excuses such as, it’s not wrong to wrap eggrolls in that area because it is their work area. However, it’s obviously office space. And that the menu online is not their menu, it’s just what some random people think the menu is like. However, the online menu I saw was a photo of their exact menu. He had no response for the green egg drop soup. He kept trying to make excuses but I said “I’m done here” and left. There are so many positive reviews about China Chef and I don’t understand why unless they are paid and/or family and friends are writing them.

The menu online price is completely different than at the place. I ordered orange chicken— menu says $15 dated June2025. However cashier says price is $18 plus tax and they have raised their price. An hour later I called in from a different number and was told the price was $17. CLEARLY, the place is changing prices based on whatever they want to charge. Dishonest.

Very bad service! I have ordered several meals from this company!!! And when I say, I mean several! Majority of the time something is always being forgotten. Or the older lady who answered the phone can barely speak English and messed up on orders all the time! And they have a little boy that messed up on orders too, and always apologizing! I have had enough I went back for a refund! Because my order was totally wrong!! When I got there The little boy said where is the food I said the food that you messed up on you want me to bring the food back so you can throw it away? I said, but you put the manager on the phone in the manager is just going to give me a refund. The manager said nothing to me about bringing the food back however, I have no problem with going to get it Then the little boy states, let me go get the manager because I told you to bring the food back. The manager comes up to me and then states where’s the food I said you didn’t tell me to bring the food, but I will be willing to go get it. You just offered me my refund.. He then began to tell me that all I do is complain? complain are you serious? All your mother does is messed up on the order and your son messes up as well. Matter of fact he almost forgot my rice. How do you forget a rice with the meal? he then said you know what here’s your money. I don’t want your service anymore! I said oh you’re not getting my service anymore where are the people that was running it before you? Much better service!!!! Food was even fresh and hot! How is my food code if I just ordered it five minutes? He stated that we have been here for 25 years and we’re not going anywhere! Well, you won’t get a damn dollar for me again! I have noticed that they do not allow people to come in. You can only pull through the drive-through! They want to take our money but yet feel unsafe around us.ummmm .lol Very bad service trust me I’m an open person and very nice but this place is definitely rated a 1 Out of a five!!! They will smell and take your money and get upset if they mess up? So you mean to tell me that $18 was worth you losing a customer that orders several times a week from you? Wow !!! Are you serious as I’m watching through the window looking at the dirty atmosphere? How’s it even dirty when you don’t even allow customers in?lol This place is horrible! Fast delivery and nice delivery guy but terrible food. The delivery guy warned me about the plain lo mein and told me to fold it in with the chicken but the chicken was so dry there was no leftover sauce. Also ordered crab Rangoon wontons and there was absolutely no cream cheese in them. Too expensive to waste all of this food but quickly lost my appetite after eating the chicken and lo mein. I’m sorry but you guys need to be more clear about how you make things. Waste of $40.

My food was delicious! It arrived hot and fresh, the Cab Rangoon were still very crispy and almost too hot to eat. I ordered delivery and it was delivered near Drake in only 20 minutes. Under $20 for one person including delivery fee and tip is awesome. Highly recommend.

This is the best chineese food. The sauce and flavor for the chicken and mixed vegetables are perfect. Soke of the others have a dull awkward taste. All of their food is fresh, fast and tastes great. They're efficient. Highly recommend.

Singapore noodles are life changing. Although the restaurant is older, it is very clean. Staff very friendly and they get your food quick!

Was just looking for something new and drove by Taste of China, so we stopped. Great decision. We had Pork Egg Foo Yung, the General's Chicken, Egg Rolls, and Fried Dumplings. All good. We'll be back. This is a classic chinese takeout with six or eight tables. The atmosphere is strictly business. The food is great and the staff knows just what they're about. The prices are very affordable. Give it a shot.

Our go to for all Chinese food and has been for 40 years (current or nearby former locations). I live 10 minutes away and the food is ready when I arrive after calling. I always have Szechuan Shrimp or Singapore-style Rice Noodles—both delightful. Appetizers are great too.

Overpriced and small portions. Cumbersome online ordering. They charge a $4 delivery fee just to go a few blocks and then they want a tip on top of that. Terrible restaurant.

Amazing orange chicken and great prices. Shrimp fried rice is great, and the crab rangoons are a must! They seem to make most orders with tofu as a replacement for meat if you ask, so there’s plenty of options for the family.

There was a feather in my wings, idk how or why. I will never and I mean NEVER be ordering from this place again the portions were small, the sauce was super sweet that it was unbearable. It was not worth $31.00, pizza would of been a better choice.

Drake staple. Food always has the perfect temperature. Lunch offers great value and portions for the combo, and dinner offers ridiculous portions and good service for dine-in. Lots of good memories with friends there. Their sesame chicken, Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian beef are all excellent choices.

When was the last time you had duck? Le's is one of many hidden jewels in our city. We've eaten take-out here for many years and watched as this family has slowly but surely built this business up from nothing and now it's just fun to sit down there on a rainy Thursday afternoon and eat delicious Chinese BBQ. Over the years we've tried all the BBQ meat on the menu. Chicken, pork and duck. It's all good. Very good. This time we had half a duck, House Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon, Egg Rolls and Steamed Dumplings. Everything was absolutely delicious. The Crab Rangoons were exceptional and the duck was melt in your mouth good. The improvements in the dining area over the last years are impressive and if you want to catch this place before it becomes to crowded, the time is now.

Deliciously fresh Chinese BBQ. Bone in BBQ are tasty and juicy. The food are super juicy and delicious. It is clan wit very nice table and booths. The deco is nice. You can dine in and check out the fresh BBQ pork, chicken, and ducks hanging inside a display case. This establishment is one of those hole in the wall place that people easily overlooked. If you are in Des Moines, this is a must visit.

We visit Le's once every week because it's very rare to find such an authentic Chinese rotisserie restaurant in the Mid West. Their roast ducks are very authentic. The sauces are delicious, too. They also have some hidden items on the menu that you have to check the availability with the owner. Those duck wings are amazing.

This is by far the best Chinese food in DSM and some of the best I’ve ever tasted. It is so good. They sell roasted duck by the half or whole and BBQ pork by the pound.

Finally made it to Le's Chinese BBQ! Lived up to the hype! Service was fast, friendly, and good. Of course I had the duck which was so flavorful. Juicy and tender. Wish I had a better word other than flavorful to describe it. You should just go in and see for yourself!

Great spot for Chinese BBQ! We had 1 order of BBQ pork and 1 order of tender pork. The regular BBQ pork is what I've seen called crispy skin pork at other places and the tender pork called char siu. Both were perfectly tender and very flavorful (I prefer the char siu.. because crispy pork skin. The veggies on the rice were still nice and crisp cooked in a light sauce. The eggrolls were also very good and freshly fried giving the right balance of crispy and chewy.

Very good lo mein, fried rice and duck noodles soup. I think they have the best Chinese food around Des Moines area.

I just had the most incredible self-love date at Lucky Lotus, and I can’t stop raving about it! The food was absolutely sensational—so flavorful and incredibly fresh! On top of that, the customer service was top-notch. I’m already counting down the days until next week when I take my hubby along to share in this culinary delight!

The good: the snack list portions were huge! The medium: The bing bing wraps tasted very burnt so we couldn’t finish them. We asked someone if that’s how they normally came out since it was our first time there. She said yes. So I didn’t take any review points away on my mind because I can’t fault them for making a dish how it is supposed to be and me not liking how well done it is. The bad: Long wait for food (40 minutes from order to get meal. Other people had been there before us and got their food a few minutes before we got ours) We and other people had to ask for a table to be cleared and wiped down before we could sit. Had to ask for our lemonade after 30 minutes. The lemonade was not lemonade. It was more of a mango juice with dragon fruit syrup at the bottom. The restaurant is so loud I couldn’t hear the persons cross the table from me

Probably the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Drunken noodles are 10/10. Panang curry is 10/10. Service is fast. 3/5 is a tolerable level of spice if you enjoy spicy food. Great atmosphere. Thai tea and lychee lemonade are also very yummy.

This was my first time there and it was awesome. The staff was very helpful in explaining their most popular dishes. The bibi wraps are incredible. Great laid back vibe with good food and a dining area that is perfect for talking while you eat. Very fun spot

Heard lots of great things and read great reviews. Nice fast casual experience (order/pay at the counter). Food takes a while (waited over half an hour) but definitely delicious and worth the wait! Been here a couple times now. Can’t wait to go again!

We had the afterschool fried rice and the Bing Bing wrap with the lemongrass chicken. The flavors were great and different from the usual Asian food we have tasted so far. The service can be a little better to elevate the dining experience. The ambience was cute and quirky.

Excellent food! Lots of vegetarian options, tasty, fresh, and fun! Service was great, even though it's counter service the staff took the time to check on tables, and were very friendly. The tofu is great with the scallion pancake, and the egg rolls were excellent.

Lunch at 11- order at counter. Simple and easy to understand menu. Gal at register super nice and helpful. It was my first time eating in. Had the shrimp teriyaki with a salad. Salad was awesome- simply because it had more than lettuce! Broccoli, edamam, red onion, carrots...yay. The shrimp was overcooked, but still a good dish. I should have done fried rice, forgot how boring white rice is. Also did the scarlet sushi roll. A little spice, not too much. Had crab on top and I forgot what fish in the middle. Tasty. Had my food in 5 minutes. Clean space. Plenty of seating for a quick lunch. Miss of booths, tables, high top. Parking a little tight and I missed the entrance the first time around. My fault. $25 before tip. I had enough food for 2 meals, so that isn't too bad. Will visit again.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl - so tasty! The chicken was hot, moist and fresh, and the rice was nice and hot. A friend with me ordered sushi and potstickers and said they were very good and another friend got the tempura cheesecake bites and said they were very good. The ONLY thing I didn't care for was how loud the music was, but it didn't bother me so much that I won't be back. All in all, a great place to go for lunch - we'll definitely be back.

The Pork Dumplings are so good. Perfect amount of crunch on the outside, they also provided an awesome sauce to dip them in. My fiancé had a Sushi roll. A spicy one, can’t remember the name unfortunately. But he really enjoyed it. I love getting half fried rice half noodles. They never mind! They also give a very good portion of Protein! The ginger dressing on the salad is my favorite. Highly recommend.

Awesome little spot we stopped at on the way out of town. Ordering on the kiosk is super easy and straightforward, and the food comes fast. The two gentlemen working and I assume owners were very kind. The food is great! We ordered a couple sushi rolls, really enjoyed the beef roll. Also had the spicy edamame, and the chicken teriyaki plate and shrimp plate. So good! Can’t beat the prices here. Give it a try! Would highly recommend.

Loved the main course, the salmon was absolutely delicious. The sushi was also good but deep fried too much, too much fryer oil. The shrimp dumplings were a little on the smaller side of appetizers. The customer service was perfect.

In the area for a High school debate competition and stopped for lunch. WOW the food was freshly prepared, big portions, and the customer service was great. Would highly recommend if you’re hungry and in the area.

Arrogant white guy , I pay almost $20 for basically rice and salad I asked for shrimps ( only 5 freaking shrimps)

On my short list for the visit to Des Moines. Heavenly showed up positive on the rating sites and I can see why. I am a sucker for dumplings. But good dumplings and these are very good I had the spicy shrimp dumplings and these pork Xian Bao steamed dumplings. These along with a citrus fruit tea with watermelon boba was a great lunch. There was about 8 things I wanted to try on their menu. If return to West Des Moineso will return to Heavenly.

Beef pho soup was ok beef wasn’t very tender , soup wasn’t as hot was we are used to. Generally the beef cooks in the broth. Asked for less noodles and lo and behold they were piled in. Pulled half out. They did bring the fresh basil, lime, bean sprouts. Sriracha, fish sauce ect. So all in all pretty good We also got the happy family, ordered zero spice, it came loaded with red pepper piece. Very spicy. That being said it was really delicious once we got acclimated to the spice level, we were sweating and got our sinuses cleared out. The pork dumplings were good, not as Warm as we are used too. But very good. Bobo tea was good. Also got the mango smoothie, aka fire extinguisher. Very good. Atmosphere is very plain. But clean Service was great.

This is a gemstone hidden in a sea of polished glass. My first and definitely not my last visit to this establishment was one of the best Asian food experiences of my life. As a family outing we sampled a large portion of the menu and not a single bit was miss prepared. While the price is a little high for a weekly visit, it is perfectly priced for the quality you get. Staff is friendly. If I had to pick one negative, the chairs could use more padding. If that is the only negative I would say they did great. Update: Second Review, Customer Service is well above par, My Family had a wonderful time.

Was looking for a place that had good Sichuan food in Des Moines. I also love supporting smaller businesses like this one. The food was great! It wasn’t traditional Sichuan peppercorn meals, but very good American-Chinese food. Vegetables and shrimp were super fresh and delicious. Cucumber salad was warm, which was unique. I’m used to cold cucumbers in chili oil. The steamed wontons were absolutely amazing! I could’ve ordered 3 pots of those! Thanks for the great meal. Highly recommend!

This is located at the heart of the West Des Moines historic district with many quaint shops and businesses around. We stopped in for the first time during a visit in the area. The ambiance is very lovely yet filled with a modern charm! It's perfect for a date night, lunch get together, or a group meal. Every dish has its own unique character packed with an authentic flavor that has a modern tasty flair. So much to try on the menu, but so little room in my tummy 😍. Got to return for a sequel!

Best lunch special in WDM! Entrée, soup, crab Rangoon, egg roll! Delicious! Friendly! Fast! I’m a regular now! Lunch special every day 11 o’clock - 2:30. Happy hour all day Friday.

The spice level is accurate so be careful! The ingredients all tasted very fresh and high quality. My only complaints are the fried rice wasn’t actually fried (it was plain steamed white rice with veggies and egg) and the sauce on my dish was a little too sweet. But overall, everything was tasty and a good value, especially if you’re feeling like Chinese food but don’t feel like something heavy or greasy.
