Pizza restaurant
Pizza delivery
Fong's Pizza is a quirky blend of an old-school Polynesian cocktail lounge and a classic Italian eatery. Established in 2009 by local residents, this lively restaurant and tiki bar offers a diverse menu featuring Asian-Italian fusion cuisine. Housed in the former location of the iconic Chinese restaurant King-Ying-Low, which dates back to 1908, Fong's boasts an eclectic retro ambiance with Chinese, Tiki, Polynesian, and Italian decor.
This is one of those restaurants society must do everything to protect and support. It embodies what you love about food. It’s different but different with things you love. They do it perfectly with an unbelievable atmosphere and perfect service. They make sure you’re enjoying every moment of the experience. Let alone the food being delicious. Go there and don’t be bashful or hesitant to order a bunch of different items to try. Anytime I’m in the area this will be one of the stops.
Josh H — Google review
It's a very unique place....I'll call it a Chinese pizza hut but with much better pizza. The atmosphere was very different but fun and clean. The pizza crust was excellent, but the fried rice was disappointing, so I'd stick more to the pizza side of the menu. There were many unique pizza options so be a little adventurous and try something new to surprise your taste buds. We would definitely go back.

Just happened to be passing through Des Moines and drove by Fongs. My wife said it had been on Triple D so I turned in. Very glad we did. They were having happy hour and any alcoholic drink got a free slice of pizza. We did the MaiTai's which they limit 2 per person. If you're a light weight probably makes sense. We got one slice of sausage and one of pepperoni to start. Very thin but good flavor. In doing some reading it was the Crab Rangoon pizza that Guy came to try so that's what we did. Gotta say they do a really good job of their Asian fusion with that. Great flavor. Could have been a bit more imitation krab on it but all in all a great job. If we were in Des Moines longer we would really like to try some of the other fusion pizzas. Maybe next trip. 👍
Larry P — Google review
Was very happy to go to Fong's pizza. Service was good. If you like mozzarella cheese sticks, you need to try the cheese stick egg rolls. They were really good. The Crab Rangoon pizza was really good. I'm not sure I'm with Alton Brown from the Food Network and can say it's the best thing I ever ate but it was good and I would get it again. The General Tso Chicken pizza was good as well but felt like it needed a little bit more sauce. I would definitely go back and try more pizzas on my next trip to Des Moines.
Ryan Y — Google review
Staff were friendly and helpful, the place looks amazing and smells great. The cheese sticks were delicious. The pizza was good just not my favorite but I can see why people enjoy it. If im back in town id give it another try maybe with a more traditional pizza topping.
Josh A — Google review
Unique: they nail both your regular pepperoni and their signature pizzas like General Tso, which is amazing and I don't typically like that kind of stuff. The new location is awesome and seats way more people and parking is readily available. Coke products.

Fongolian beef and honey garlic (with chicken added). Both pizzas were great. Honey garlic was especially good with a bit of siracha to pair some spice with the sweet. Will be coming back again.
Matt S — Google review
We really enjoyed our lunch at Fongs! The atmosphere was enjoyable with plenty of space to dine comfortably, party of five. The dining area was clean and tidy. Our server/hostess/bus person was attentive, but not overly so. They took our drink orders, allowed us plenty of time to peruse the menu and place our order with no rush. As we dined, they stopped by occasionally asking if we needed anything, checking to be sure we were enjoying our visit and food. We ordered the limited time Oktoberfest pizza, crab rangoon pizza and the Iowan. As always, the crab rangoon pizza was the crowd pleaser. The Iowan our second favorite and the Oktoberfest pizza was also a delight. Everything was served fresh and made to order. So good! Fongs is a great place to dine with family, friends, anyone, really! The pizza is where it's at!

Italian restaurant
Bar
Restaurant
Centro is a popular Italian restaurant located in downtown Des Moines, housed in a former Masonic temple with high ceilings and vintage decor. The menu features contemporary Italian cuisine, including handmade pastas and cured meats curated by chef Derek Eidson. The restaurant is known for its pizza/salad combos and homemade breads from the connected lunch spot South Union. Centro also hosts monthly specialty dinners curated by Formaro, offering unique dishes to a group of 50 diners.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Centro. I ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca, which was amazing. The chicken was moist and tender. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavor. The service was good and meal was fairly priced. I would highly recommend.
Mark G — Google review
Just the fact that they charged us to pay by credit card, and then we had to pay higher tax because of that, makes me not want to go back, and I enjoyed the salad, but the pizza was disappointing. We started with the Caesar which was very good and I liked the anchovies. The pizza was a four cheese with tomato sauce. Horribly tasteless, I make better pizza at home, and my tomato sauce actually has flavour. This was just coloured red and the entire pizza just tasted of garlic. It was tasteless bread with the texture of cheese that tasted like chunks of crushed garlic. Then to top it off, I realised once home that they charged an additional $1.61 (2.75%) to pay via credit card, and then the tax we paid went from $4.10 to $4.22. If anything this charge should be after tax and not increase our bill. This is daylight robbery and a disgrace to hard working people. We live down the road and we would have gone back, but this is just unacceptable

I visited this restaurant after seeing it recommended in a food review, but unfortunately, my experience did not go as I had hoped. When I arrived, the restaurant was empty, and since I had a broken foot, I was hoping to sit at a booth or a regular table. However, I was only offered a seat at the bar, with the option of waiting 20 minutes to sit outside on the patio. I ordered a pizza, which is priced at a premium compared to other places in the area. After placing my order at the bar, I was left unattended for about 35 minutes until another staff member delivered my food. During this time, I did notice another server beginning her shift, setting up her station with care and using gloves, which I appreciated. When I was ready to leave, I asked for a box. My five remaining slices were placed in a styrofoam container stacked directly on top of each other, which made them stick together. I asked if they could be placed in a regular pizza box instead, but the slices were transferred by hand without gloves, which raised some concerns for me. When I asked about this, I was told he dose not ware gloves for boxing pizza and was directed to speak with a manager. After waiting for about 10 minutes without any response from management, I decided to leave. I truly wanted to enjoy my visit here, but unfortunately, the service left me feeling unwelcome. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve, as I believe the potential for a much better experience is there.

Guys, the salad could’ve been great if we could actually taste the vegetables — instead, it was drowned in a sweet dressing. The meat was extremely poor quality; we couldn’t even eat the steak. As for the service… it was disappointing. No one cleared the dirty plates, I didn’t even get a proper dinner plate and had to eat from a dessert plate. On top of that, the waitress brought all the food out at once and just stood there waiting while we scrambled to make room.
Olga D — Google review
We got a large half cheese, half peperonni pizza. They put extra sauce on the plain cheese but not on the Peperoni side. Crust was crispy and very fresh tasting. Great tasting cheese, though the after taste was garlicy, so definately a garclic flavor to it. Overall, I'd rate it a 7.1 out of 10.
GregMic — Google review
Centro had potential, but my experience just didn’t connect this time. The vibe was nice, but the execution felt a little off from the timing of the service to the overall balance of the meal. The atmosphere had energy, but the follow-through missed a few details that matter. I’m all for growth and consistency, so I’ll check back again later to see how they evolve. Louie K’s Up I don’t bash, I build. Honest feedback makes the culture stronger. 💯🔥

Wow. Centro is fantastic. This is easily the best Italian food in Des Moines and top 5 favorite Italian places I’ve ever been. Our server, Grace, was fantastic. I had the spicy sausage rigatoni and it was phenomenal. The desserts were unreal good. If you’re in Des Moines and looking for a high quality restaurant experience, I highly recommend Centro.

Mediterranean restaurant
Eatery A is a stylish restaurant in Des Moines known for its creative Mediterranean dishes and wood-fired pizzas. The space features reclaimed Iowa wood, adding to the ambiance. The menu includes handmade pastas and cured meats curated by Derek Eidson at Centro, offering specialty dishes and menus during monthly dinners. This place is popular among locals for its happy hour, offering half-price pizza, wine, and beer.
Had an incredible dining experience! 🍝✨ Great food, amazing service, and a cozy ambiance that made the evening perfect. We tried the soup, pasta, and two pizzas — every dish was flavorful and fresh. The happy hour pizza prices were such a great bonus! 🍕🙌 Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for delicious food and warm hospitality.

My husband and I went on a double date to Eatery A tonight, and we all absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the taste of the food. It was delicious, hot, and tasty. The decor, the different seating options (large booths, small tables, lounge type chairs), and overall vibe was stunning. We've eaten on the patio area in the summertime, and if you have a chance to eat outside, do it! It's worth it. At night, the nightlife of people walking, talking, and having fun surrounds you and adds a little extra entertainment to your dinner. Unfortunately, tonight we were quite disappointed in the service or lack of. It took us over 2 hours in total to get our drinks, apps, and dinner. We had reservations at 6:30 and left a little after 8:45. (Thankfully, we weren't in a hurry, but still). We ordered our apps and dinner at the same time since our server was taking so long just to bring us our drinks out (15+ mins), but it still took over an hour just to get our dinner. By the end of the night, we were the last table left in the restaurant (a few people were left at the bar area), and I had to grab our own to-go boxes from the side area, and located a random waitress and asked her to please help get our ticket or waitress. Our waitress finally walked up with boxes and asked if we were ready for our bill... no apology or acknowledgment that she her taking a bit longer tonight or in general. Our food was GREAT (and surprisingly hot when it arrived), but the service lacked a LOT. Hopefully, it was just one bad night and not an ongoing issue, but I will give them another chance at some point since their pizza's were so good.
Amy E — Google review
Eatery A I used to love this place, and I was so excited to have it since I hadn’t had it in 5 years. But I will say this was such a huge disappointment. Ordered the meat balls and arancini, it came out ICE cold and very old. We decided against any of the entrees due to this reason. But decided to get a pizza, because its pizza and pizza is always good and i used to think theirs was too. The pizza was worse, Caramelized onions does not mean adding sugar for sweetness, and they should say the onions are basically candy sweet on the pizza. It was overly sweetened. Over all, i will not be coming back and this place has gone down hill. Was unable to eat ANY of the foods. I used to love this place 💔 The manager was nice, but still made us pay for the pizza, no worries. I do not recommend this place anymore. Took 10 minutes for out server to even greet us but we were willing to look past that because we were hoping the food would have out weighed the terrible service and the fact the server did not look like she even wanted to be there. It seemed like a bother she was even waiting on our table. Unfortunately that was not the case and the food was terrible.
Kimberly S — Google review
Great Happy Hour especially if you like pizza. Staff were friendly. Service was attentive. The establishment had a cozy vibe and it was extremely clean. The pizza was pretty good, but definitely left me wanting more for the overall experience. Overall this place is a good place to grab a quick bite.

Went to Eatery A with some friends for bottomless mimosas on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and had our own private room! Our server was very friendly and quite attentive. She filled everyone’s glasses so promptly and always made sure that everyone had what they needed. For food, we ordered the Nutella French toast and Lemon Ricotta pancakes. They were OK. My favorite thing at the restaurant was the limeade. It was so refreshing!
Ashley S — Google review
A very nice cozy place offering vegetarian food along side their. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. The food was good. Very quick service and their N/A no worries cocktail was amazing, highly recommend it. Their roasted bell pepper and squash soup another amazing dish. Loved this place overall

LOVED this restaurant. The menu is fantastic and I had trouble deciding what to get. Everything we ordered was amazing. I highly recommend.
Lisa L — Google review
Warm, industrial, pizzeria meets eatery. The wood fire stove is absolutely the cornerstone of the restaurant. A very easy atmosphere with the intoxicating aroma of outstanding pizza that meets you as soon as you walk in. Today, I order the asparagus soup, with a few small plates to-go. The Moroccan carrots, warm artichoke, and Greek cucumbers.

If you find yourself in Des Moines, a visit to Big Tomato Pizza is an absolute must! This no-frills pizzeria prides itself on using local meats and cheeses, along with some truly unique toppings that will tantalize your taste buds. Open until 3 a.m., it’s the perfect spot for late-night cravings after a fun evening out on Ingersoll Avenue.
Wow! It's still the great tasting pizza I remember from my good ol dayz. The service was awesome, and the pizza slices generous. Can't wait to go back.

.... I come here consistently. I know the owner and come in with my dog. I order a pizza on Valentines Day, and they are missing green pepper, pineapple, Philly steak, and graziano sausage. We asked for a refund for our $40 pizza, only to be brought back the pizza to only get $5 cash back. Oh? And they threw in the rest of their uncooked green pepper. Lousy service is on the door, but the worker admitted he never looked at our ticket, and we paid a decent price for our food and patiently waited. 😕

Visiting sister-in-law, in Des Moines. Wanted to try a local pizza. This was the only place open at 2 AM. Just got my pizza and the barbecue chicken pizza. It's amazing.
Kc G — Google review
I ordered a honey garlic and alfredo (most would assume a completely whiteish pizza) and i got a slice back with pepperoni and green peppers. Worker said they were going to check, and proceeded to open and immediately close the oven he was supposedly “checking” . Coworker ordered the same thing and DID get the correct pizza, but when i picked up a slice from the $20 pizza the slice flopped and the entire cheese fell off. I get it you’re the only pizza open at 2am but at least have SOME standards
Jimmy P — Google review
My husband and I were wanting to try a local pizza joint on a quick weekend trip up to Des Moines. We ended up wanting to order pizza at like 11:30 pm on a Saturday night, and this was one of the only local pizza places close to us that was serving whole pizzas that late. We ended up ordering a Cajun shrimp pizza and some Italian cheese fries. Both were very good! We ordered a large pizza with the cheese fries and ended up having leftovers for the next day. The storefront itself was tiny, and there were so many people there that night. They have some seating along the wall, but that is maybe 6 to 10 people max. It was a very tight fit for everyone there waiting on pizza. Despite the crowd, we were probably standing in line waiting for our online-ordered pizza for 15 or so minutes. Well with the wait, though!
Aubry C — Google review
I know they advertise "Lousy Service" but they always treat me right. Not the highest quality pizza out there but the late night pizza by the slice feature makes up for it. Where else can you get a nice slice of pizza at 2:15am. I recommend the Honey Garlic Alfredo if you like sweet and savory.
Jon D — Google review
Was in town for the Iowa State Fair to attend the T-Pain concert and ordered pizza at midnight. The lady who took and delivered the order was so pleasant on the phone and in person. On top of that, the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza was top tier. Thank you for the great service & pizza!
Victoria J — Google review
Great late night spot if you want to pick up a slice! If I end up on Ingersoll I'll usually stop here at the end of the night. They didn't have any slices ready Tuesday evening but they were nice and made a pizza with toppings we wanted so we could grab some slices after checking out a few shops. I'm sure they had no issues selling the rest. Their pizza is the bomb! My first time having it was after suffering COVID in early 2021. Let me tell you, it was magic after having lost my smell and taste. Maybe it's what brought it back! I'll always have love for this place! There's a few seats inside but we usually just grab a slice and go. Love the staff here! But, the pizza, is the main reason I keep coming back. Perfect crust, just enough sauce, great flavor combos...A++

If you're craving a taste of Kansas City without the long drive, look no further than Truman's KC Pizza Tavern in the Historic East Village. This vibrant spot captures the essence of Midwestern charm with its lively atmosphere filled with Chiefs and Royals spirit. Indulge in their mouthwatering pizzas like The French Dip, served with a side of au jus, or The Mahomes, loaded with an array of meats including sausage and bacon.
Had a great time here. The breakfast pizza was delicious as well as their two specials. The mimosa was also amazing. We did discover breakfast is served until 1pm due to them having a small kitchen

Had the cheese balls and the Tuscan Steak Pizza. The service was attentive and food arrived fast. The place was packed watching March Madness, but you wouldn’t know it by how seamlessly each table was waited on. Pizza can be a hit or miss for me, and I would return to try their other styles because of the crust alone. It was light and not too thick (you can eat multiple slices and not feel sick) and cooked with a slight crisp but not overdone. I would recommend trying out the food and service at Truman’s Tavern.

Truman’s Pizza Review (Delivery Experience) We ordered from Truman’s through a delivery service — which always adds a bit of mystery to how the food will arrive. Fortunately, this time everything showed up hot and fresh! This review focuses on Truman’s food quality, based solely on our delivery experience. My wife Kim is a total pizza fanatic, so we’re always trying new places! She ordered the garlic cheese bread, which was fantastic — perfectly cheesy and delivered with a great dipping sauce. Honestly, it could stand alone as a meal! The star of the show was the Mahomes pizza. It arrived a bit messy — some toppings were haphazardly placed and unevenly distributed. This wasn’t a delivery issue, but likely how it was assembled at the restaurant. That said, it’s a minor complaint because the pizza itself was delicious. I loved all the toppings except the hamburger — it was just plain, unseasoned ground beef. It felt out of place on such a flavorful pizza. Thankfully, the pizza sauce was the hero — bold, flavorful, and full of character. And the crust? Thin but not too thin, with those awesome little bubbles and a perfect balance of chewy and crispy. (Sounds impossible, but it really was!) While I’d definitely prefer to dine in at Truman’s next time, the delivery experience was surprisingly solid given the distance. I hope Kim tipped well! Looking forward to visiting in person!

Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was busy but not packed so we were able to get a booth. They offer your typical breakfast items and some unique options. The pickle blood mary was delicious! Perfect flavor and spice. Plus the pickle beer back was the cherry on top! We loved both the breakfast pizzas and had plenty for leftovers.

Truman’s Down Town - We ordered lunch for the office and I today. I ordered a Fiesta Chicken Salad. I read the ingredient list to my self as I am allergic to avocado I did not see that so I was safe. I opened the salad and took the ranch container out to see some guacamole on the bottom. I thought. Maybe it was a fluke and ate my salad. I got to the end and found mounds of Guacamole throughout the salad that I had eaten…. I called Truman’s and I asked If their Fiesta Chicken Salad came with Avocado and she said yes. I asked why their online menu doesn’t say that and she rudely said that it did. I told her that I was looking at the discription and it did not say that. She replied rudely she would look. She checked and said “well I guess we will have to get that changed”. No offer to make things right, no asking if I was okay, nothing. I will say if you do not have food allergies the food is good, atmosphere is fun, but this rubbed me wrong.

Cozy, hip, great staff, amazing food! Huge selection!! I tried the special, grilled cheese and Mac pizza in honor of the Iowa State football team. I was extremely satisfied. It came with tomato bisque to dip it in. Oh and their selection of cocktails are endless. I had a piña colada mimosa with coconut purée and I could've gotten many more, but I decided to be a good girl.

Stopped in to attend the Thursday night trivia. I will say customer service was great and atmosphere was good. I would say I wish there was more seating options in doors. We arrived early and there was still only high tables which can be difficult with people with disabilities. Trivia was well done and host did a good job. I really wanted to love the food. They have some really fun options on the menu. I'm not sure if it was just a off night or not. I ordered the pot belly burnt end grilled cheese. I'm going to be honest I'm not sure how it's considered to be a grilled cheese. The roll/bun was not grilled, there was not really cheese, the burnt ends weren't charred in any way. To be honest it had very little flavor. I took maybe two bites took it home and didn't eat it. I'm wondering if maybe it's a different take and I just misunderstood what it was going to be. We also got the brownies and honestly they were ok. They didn't really have a distinct flavor. We also got the cheese bread which honestly tasted very off. With all this said we would definitely like to try the trivia again and the food again( like I said it could have been a bad night) Once I try food again I will edit my review

Just a quick stop for some food not looking for anything special. Saw Truman's and realized we hadn't been here in forever. What a great happenstance, food was a wonderful surprise. Ordered two different pizzas, one with Alfredo and meatballs with red peppers. Normally not my style but this worked, from the crust which was perfect to the garlic butter crust. Second pizza was a meat bonanza, Grazianos sausage, Canadian bacon, pepperoni. This one got my attention, sauce was spot on with just a hint of heat, it was perfection. After tonight I am calling Truman's my favorite Iowa pizza place. The Alfredo gets a 7.7 the Meat with red sauce gets a 8.5 the highest rating I have ever given a pizza in Iowa.

Dough Co. Pizza in the Drake neighborhood and Ankeny is a popular fast-casual pizzeria known for its New York-style thin crust pizzas available by the slice or whole pie. The focus here is on fresh dough, made daily, with options including New York thin crust, Sicilian Square, gluten-free, and vegan dough. Toppings range from meaty to vegan options.
The pizzas were bigger than we anticipated! Fun selection of pizzas, but the kids were happy with straight up cheese and pepperoni. It was our first time here since we are from out of town. The place was clean, staff was friendly, and we got our pizzas quick. We tried the breadsticks, which went really fast between our family. Adults tried the taco and we really enjoyed it. The crust was airy, but had a little crunch to it. We really loved it.
Rachel P — Google review
This is my first time ordering from Dough Co. Pizza. I heard a lot of great reviews about this place and I wanted to try their pizza. I ordered a 14 inch pizza for take out for dinner. When I arrive the employees were nice and friendly. The atmosphere was a pizzeria kind of place and look pretty cool. It has a rustic look kind of place. When I received my pizza it was cold, and I didn’t really think about too much about it. When I got home and I opened the pizza it was already cold, not even warm to the touch. The only thing I can think of it is that they gave me a pizza that was already baked and has been sitting there for a while. The pizza crust has a nice texture which I like it a lot. I bet the pizza would be better if it was hot. My 14 inch sausage pizza cost $ 19 dollar. If you guys are charging that much for a pizza at least make them hot. My guess is that they gave me a pizza that has already baked and has been sitting there a while. I might give this place another try and will update my review.

The food is always great, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is clean. Even the restrooms are well kept. The food pricing is perfect. You can get so much for under $10. Especially with their lunch special. They also catered my wedding and nothing but great things to say.

Ordered for delivery so service and atmosphere get a default five. Here's the thing about the pizza. It has the potential to be GREAT...it just wasn't. :( If someone from Dough Co reads this, PLEASE reconsider how you're seasoning your pizza. The crust is really really good, crispy, good crunch, and then the toppings and sauce are just kinda meh. I ordered sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and cheese sticks with red sauce. The red sauce is a good base but needs way more seasoning - NOT SALT. Garlic powder, oregano, basil, a pinch of sugar, etc. The pizza lacked flavor. It was very basic. The sausage on the pizza should've added flavor but had none. I added my own oregano at home. The pepperoni was put under the cheese, which trapped all the grease and made the pepperoni soggy, not crispy, and the pizza overly greasy. The potential is there for this pizza to be fantastic - SEASON IT!!! Screw the haters saying it's too expensive. People will have no problem paying money for a pizza as long as it's GOOD! :) I will be trying them again!! 🍕 ❤️ PS - would be a nice gesture for your delivery customers if you put in a few packets of parm and red pepper flakes with each pizza.
Amber D — Google review
Pizza is always good here. Personal slices are as big as your face and you can get a 26 inch pizza that will only fit in the trunk of a 2010 Camry. Fresh ingredients and cool staff. Salads are pretty good here too.
Greg C — Google review
Delicious pizza, with a nice college town vibe. Loved the Sailor Moon anime while we ate. Highly recommend this place! Went back with coworkers to share the great food. Alas, the pizza never showed...apparently the printer didn't print out our order. We sat with our pitcher of beer til it was empty. Not once did a staff member inquire as to another pitcher or to let us know the pizza status. It was when they started to close that we inquired as to the missing pie. They did end up making the pie which we took to go. I don't think my coworkers will return. I'm not so sure either. Because of the ordeal, the pizza was only OK; you could say the experience soured the meal.

Took 40 minutes to make a pie to go. Dough shaped like it was just slapped together and burnt on the bottom, covered in oil and very salty.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful Italian dining experience in Des Moines, look no further than Bordenaro's Pizza & Pasta. This casual eatery has been a beloved staple since 1977, offering not just mouthwatering pizzas but also an array of pasta dishes and sandwiches. With seasonal outdoor seating available, you can enjoy your meal al fresco or opt for convenient takeout and delivery options.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoy Bordenaro's. It's not easy to find an authentic, family-owned Italian restaurant that's open on Mondays, but we are able to have date night sometimes on Mondays, and Bordenaro's is the perfect place for us. Our pizza go-to is a combination of the hot roasted peppers, capicola, and Italian Sausage. It's amazing. We usually split a canoli for dessert, but they have some of the most delicious onion rings in town. I really wish I lived closer to Bordenaro's. By the way, they have a great to-go pizza special on Wednesdays and Thursdays which my family has done since I was a young boy. I thoroughly enjoy this locally owned, family-run business and highly recommend it if you like great food and a great restaurant.
Chad B — Google review
Very good pizza. Just got the hot roasted peppers, which are definitely hot, but balanced out with the cheese and slightly sweet sauce, on a nice thin crust.
Brandon H — Google review
Bordenaro’s staff was friendly and helpful. This place is a historic DSM restaurant that keeps providing damn good pizza. I like to take my kids to the zoo just so I have an excuse to go over to the south side and eat Bordenaro’s pizza. A cheese pizza seems so simple and anyone can make one but theirs is perfect, especially with a drizzle of hot honey.
Chad S — Google review
Accidentally walked in 38 minutes before close on Monday night. The late sunset confuses me sometimes. The staff was still super polite and sat us. The menu was straightforward so we ordered immediately. Food came out ~20 minutes later, piping hot--super fresh. They don't make their own pasta, but the sauces are created in-house. And you know the sauce dictates how good a dish will be. The crust on the pizza was perfect! I inhaled my half/half rigatoni and we boxed up the rest of the pizza to go. I didn't want my salad then so the server kept it in the cooler until we were ready to leave. We were able to make it out 5 minutes before they officially closed. Everyone was great. The food was EXACTLY what I wanted. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Highly recommend!
Melinda — Google review
It's a great old style pizza joint. They have a great cracker crust pizza with a variety of options for specialty pizzas. We all loved the red sauce, but be ready. It can be a little spicy from red pepper being a noticeable ingredient. We ordered a few fried apps, and the breading was perfect.

The thin crust was super thin and crispy! The sauce had just enough kick, not too sweet and the meat toppings and cheese finished it off perfectly!

Nestled in Beaverdale, Parlor has quickly become a must-visit dining spot, taking over the former Saints Pub + Patio. This vibrant eatery is the brainchild of Jason Simon, known for his other successful ventures like Motley School Tavern and Eatery A. At Parlor, guests can indulge in specialty Detroit-style pizzas that boast a unique focaccia-like crust baked to perfection in rectangular pans. The result?
There are a few decent places around Beaverdale, but Parlor is my pick for 'best value, good vibe.' The bartenders are awesome, and I haven’t found a better happy hour around. Plus, I absolutely love their pizzas. Check out their menu—there aren’t many pizza places with such creative topping combinations. And they are all Detroit style, which is my favorite. Pictured (but not very well) is one of their March Madness specials—a beer and a burger meal for $10. Great deal. The fries are real potatoes. They make their own ranch. Loved it.

Went with friends for dinner. It was busy but not crowded. We were seated quickly. The staff are friendly. The server brought waters and menus quickly. We ordered various things, including the cinnamon roll skillet, the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and a pizza. I had a cherry cider. It was tart, but good. The soup was ok. A little acidic. The grilled cheese bread was great and nicely toasted but lacked enough cheese. The cinnamon roll skillet was nice, but the roll was cold in the center. The icing was syrup. The pizza was good. Good crust, nice edges. May return.

Food was an S Tier in comfort food. Absolutely fabulous! Staff was frequently present, and offering to refill me and my friend's drinks regularly. They were friendly, encouraging, and happy to talk a little when things weren't too busy. Perfect spot to sit down with a friend and discuss our plans for the future. Would most certainly recommend!

Just discovered this place and went there two weekends in a row. If you like a nice deep dish crust, the pizza is SO good. Has a Parmesan cheese crusted Detroit style crust that is life. You can choose one of their creations or make your own (even half and half). Cheese curds are also delicious... Some of the best I've had. The Ace Guava Cider is now one of my favorite drinks! I only hope I can find it out in the wild for home 🤪 Service is pretty great too. We made a reservation online and our table was ready when we got there with menus and ice waters waiting. ❤️

Went there for brunch on Sunday the 30th of August. Had the breakfast burrito which was delicious. Side of bacon which was crispy but not overdone. My friend ordered the breakfast pizza which was Detroit style, which had somewhat of a unique flavor of crust that I couldn't quite place. Make no mistake, it did not deter from the flavor of the pizza. Rather, it only enhanced it. Fantastic !!!

I recently hosted a family celebration at Parlor - and it was perfect. First, the atmosphere was open and friendly - with both inside and outside options to enjoy. The vibe was friendly and provided a variety of food options that everyone loved. The wings and pizza were both delicious - with the pizza options providing options for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. The Parlor team is ultra-friendly - outgoing, helpful, and very service-oriented. Hannah made sure that we had everything we needed to make the party a success. It was nice to host a party at a place where everyone felt so comfortable and pleased with their food. Way to go, Parlor team!

We went to Parlor on a Friday night, place wasn't full, Ashley our waitress was tentative and was patient with our group. I ordered a mixed drink, it was very watered down! My second drink I ordered a Old Fashioned it was better. Food had very good flavor and good portions for the price. Detroit style pizza was also very good. If in the Beaverdale area it worth a try!

Felix and Oscars is a laid-back pub that delights diners with an array of Chicago-style deep-dish and thin-crust pizzas, alongside hearty pasta dishes, sandwiches, and burgers. Their menu features classic options like the traditional tenderloin sandwich, as well as a creative twist on it—an upgraded version loaded with grilled ham, double-smoked bacon, and pepper jack cheese.

This place taste like home, it’s just comforting. My wife said the creamy parm and the ranch dressing were both to die for. Wings were CRISPY and HOT to perfection and it was door dash so extra impressive. They have individual deep dishes. My wife got a veggie lovers deep dish , loved it. I got a build your own- beef (which is like old school ground beef ), ham, onions and green peppers. Pizza sauce taste like my grandma made it, crust taste the closest I have had to genuine chi town deep dish in Iowa. Just delicious pizza. Ordered 2 times this week

I'm from Manhattan NYC. I know pizza. This dough taste and feels like it was made from a Bisquick dough mix. We ordered thin crust, the toppings were good but made it a soggy floppy mess. Chicken tenders were from a freezer bag. Felt like munching on rocks on the edges .

Went for dinner with our family. The food was hot and good. I would definitely recommend except for a different server. We had Mes S as our waitress it wasn't that busy there yet she barely checked on our table multiple cups would be empty before she would even attempt to refill them. She brought out our bill and very loudly stated the total of the bill to everyone around us. When paying for the bill after she announced it she then stood over my mother's shoulder watching her every move when paying. In my opinion that is unprofessional as a server. You could tell that the waitress has been doing a serving job and just speaks the words like a routine with absolutely no expressions. I would bring the family back but definitely will not be sitting with that waitress again.

Gusto Pizza Bar is not your average pizza joint. It offers a wide variety of unconventional topping combinations on their thin-crust pies and craft beers to go along with them. Families can enjoy a busy weeknight at Gusto Pizza, indulging in delicious pizzas and playing card games brought from home. The restaurant also serves unique made-from-scratch pizzas and sandwiches in Des Moines, making it a perfect spot for family gatherings or casual hangouts with friends.
One of the best happy hours in town- the spinach & artichoke dip is one of the best I’ve had and i love their Nashville hot pickle spears. Tonight, we had the Purdylicious- absolutely delicious and so innovative. They are always changing up their menu & trying new things.

We used to LOVE Gusto when it was at Ingersoll Square. We didn’t love the price changes when they moved to the defunct Whiskey River on Ingersoll, so we went less. Our last trip back was tragic. Service was slow and inattentive. Garlic cheese bread was somehow melted on top and cold inside. Our beloved Van Helsing was soggy and our Detroit style was somehow burnt and cold at the same time. We had to wave people down to get to-go stuff and checks. Super sad. Used to love. End of an era I suppose.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service. They have some great appetizers. Brussel Sprouts are super. The pizzas are more on the unique side. I thought the crust was some of the best tasting around but i didn't enjoy the overall flavor of the pizza with some of the non-traditional toppings.

Came here for Happy Hour on 07/13 around 5pm. I believe it's half-off apps. I don't remember if there were any other deals. It was nice out so we sat on the patio with my dog. I'm surprised we were the only ones there. The server was awesome. She brought out water for my dog. We ordered breadsticks and Bulgogi wontons to start and shared the PTP, Baby! pizza. Everything was fantastic! The flavors were on-point! The giardinera added some pizzazz as well as enhanced the other flavors on the pizza. I'm definitely interested in trying the others.

They weren’t too busy till evening. While we waited for our party, we ordered the cheese curds. Be warned- they’re a cube shape so they don’t look like typical cheese curds but I was told they were good. One person had a ginormous salad but it didn’t have croutons. The Seoul food pizza is my go to. They haven’t changed the recipe over the years. It tastes the same and always phenomenal every time. The rest of my party got the Gotham. They allowed a small cake in the venue since we had a celebration. Glad this location is still around because whenever I crave hood pizza it always hits the spot🍕♥️

Ordered a regular pepperoni pizza for kids, the guido salad and the cremini mushroom pizza. Pepperoni pizza was great. Salad was great. The cremini pizza was not so great. No real flavors at all, and the mushrooms got fairly soggy which was a bummer. I ordered d they GrubHub for a pick up time roughly one hour after I placed the order. No more than 15 min later I had a notification that my order was ready…. So almost 40 minutes ahead of time. I called the restaurant and spoke to two different people to see if they could be “remade” instead of sitting there for the original pick up time. They said they could do it, but the fact the mushroom ‘za was soggy makes me wonder. Visiting from out of town or would give them a second chance :)

Bix & Co. is a family-owned local eatery and pub located in the Valley Junction Business District. The interior boasts modern and trendy decor with large sports screens, well-spaced seating, and a selectively designed menu offering fresh made-to-order entrees. Customers have praised the deliciously prepared main courses such as the Turkey Melt and Black & Bleu Burger, noting that the food quality surpasses typical pub fare.
ABBA was amazing!!! This place is an excellent gem here in DSM. We got the Gouda cheese melt & the black and blue burger. The onion rings were out of this world and dipping sauces were just phenomenal. ABBA was excellent & was running the entirety of the restaurant as the only worker. He was attentive & so nice.

IN the heart of the Historic Valley Junction. I'm happy to report that Bix and Co. has completely redeemed itself for me. After a less-than-stellar previous visit, we came back for the live music and had a fantastic time. Our waitress was wonderful; she was on top of everything from the moment we sat down. She quickly brought our drinks and checked in on us often. The Chicken Nachos were a definite highlight—fresh, smothered in chicken and bacon, and served with a pile of fresh jalapeños. The ambiance and entertainment were top-notch. I'm so glad we gave it another shot, and we'll be back soon!

The food was good. I had the 1/2 smoked gouda sandwich, with a side caesar salad. The sandwich was oozing with cheese, mushrooms, and onions, and rhe bread was buttery and crispy. We enjoyed a cheese curds appetizer which was crispy on the ouside and melty. The special was the meatball sub, which was tasty.

This was one of the best restaurant/bar experiences we have ever had. We were a group of 7 adults, not easily impressed people, and we all commented that our food was the best we have had: Turkey melt, Grinder sandwich, Tomato Bisque, Caesar salad. The drinks were also top-tier and many unique choice. The outdoor patio was beautiful, surrounded by trees, many TVs, families-friendly, but still enjoyable for an adults-only group. Clean. It was truly 5-star from all perspectives. We live in Johnston/NW metro, and we will definitely go back.

--- Title: A Solo Adventure at Bix.co: Italian Beef Dreams Fulfilled! So there I was, in the charming Historic Valley Junction for a meeting, and suddenly struck by a craving for Italian beef. I’d heard tales of Bix.co being the go-to spot for this classic, so I decided to check it out. Upon entering, I was greeted by a cozy atmosphere—not a soul to welcome me at 2 p.m., but I assumed there was a shift change. The bartender, when she appeared, was fantastic! Attentive, knowledgeable, and ready to guide me through the menu, which was filled with bar food offerings that went beyond the usual greasy fare. I couldn’t resist ordering the Italian beef sandwich—the star of the show! You can get it with hot or sweet peppers and even choose to have it “wet” with gravy. I also went for a side of pasta, which the bartender highly recommended. The food arrived quickly, and let me tell you, the toasted bun held tender, seasoned beef that was almost perfect. Just a tad salty for my personal taste, but that’s Italian beef for you! The pasta was fresh but could’ve used a sprinkle more seasoning. Overall, a delightful experience! I’d rate the food a solid four stars and the service a five. With the garage doors open to the patio, it really felt like a hidden gem on the corner of Historic Valley Junction. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this corner bar—it’s worth the stop!

Fun bar & grill in Valley Junction with plenty of indoor and patio seating available. Cheese curds were unique and delicious, just a light crispness, not heavy breading. Italian Beef was definitely a reason to go back! One of their great specialties. Fish & Chips was the special of the day, and my guest enjoyed it. The only complaint is I had to ask three times for ranch (when I ordered, when the food came, & lastly when waters were refilled). Parking can be difficult as Valley Junction is always busy.
Karla C — Google review
Food was great. Service a little slow. When we got our bill waitress said no change. So I had a $20.00 and my lunch partner had a $20.00. Waitress said bill is $40.00. So we paid but problem is that we both had a sandwich and water it should not be $40.00 for the bill.she did not advise that there is no change at the beginning of the meal. Plus she did not advise of extra charge for adding to a sandwich that did not list it on the menu.

Update from 2nd visit: we were seated immediately as it wasn't busy when we got there at 5:10 on a Wednesday evening...but we then sat there for 8 minutes without anyone acknowledging us and we were quite parched as it was hot outside. No water or anything for 8 minutes really started us off on the wrong foot. Things are getting pretty pricy here. The Kids Meals are now $7.99 and that doesn't include the drink - that is another $2. The whole pay cash and get 3% is pretty neat though!!! Otherwise, Bix and Co is finee. Took our family of 4 with a 4 and 6 year old and they had a blast! They were busy with the lunch crown and we wanted to sit inside because of the heat and the hostess was great because inside was full and she got creative and put two 2-person tables together for us!! Service was fast and food came out fast as well. Tenderloin was great as they use a different style of breading more like a beer batter style and the chicken strips were the same. Kids meals were only $6 which is a deal! Wife had bacon blue burger which was a bit dry and needed a sauce. Onion rings were amazing and they serve em with a chick Fila type of sauce. $18 for a burger with onion rings....a little spendy. But we'll be back!

Italian restaurant
Latin King Italian Dining is a renowned establishment that has been serving traditional Italian cuisine for over 69 years. Located in Des Moines, Iowa, this restaurant offers a classic menu featuring an array of delicious dishes made with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The cozy country-villa setting adds to the charm of the dining experience. With an extensive wine list to complement the delectable offerings, Latin King Italian Dining provides a memorable culinary journey for both locals and visitors.
My husband and I had dinner at Latin King tonight on a whim. He had never been there, and it had been at least 15 years or so since I had been there. Eva was our server, and she was incredible! We had a calamari appetizer, and as folks who always get calamari if it’s on the menu, this was #2 on our list, getting edged out by sea side calamari in Jamaica, and I mean, who can get fresher than that? It was crispy, salty and incredibly well done! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs (huge serving with lots of leftovers to take home), and my husband had the fried chicken. It came with FOUR pieces of chicken! He loved it! We got carrot cake to take home which was also very good. Will definitely return!

I've been going to Latin King for years now and I have such mixed feelings about my latest experience. The food is by all means still absolutely delicious, the portions are generous and the prices are more than reasonable but there's no denying the quality of service and even the quality of the food and presentation has slowly and very subtly dipped over the years since the new owners took over. I still love it, it's one of my favourite Italian food locations in and around Des Moines for special occasions and I doubt anyone visiting for the first time could possibly be disappointed but I'd love to see more love and care brought back to the restaurant to get it back up to that amazing five star feeling it used to leave me with each time I visited. At present, I think I'll leave it with a strong four stars.

Our first impression of this restaurant was not good. I had made a reservation for 7. When I told the person who welcomed us that we would be 8 rather than 7, he appeared rather annoyed. We wondered why since the restaurant was half empty. After this cold welcome, everything turned out well. Our waitress, Stacey was outstanding and so competent. We found out that she has worked here for many years. She is also used to handle large groups. Overall, our food was very good. Portions are very generous and prices very reasonable. Come with a large appetite. Also, we had read on Trip Advisor a few negative comments since this place changed ownership. Do not pay too much attention to those. We had a lovely dinner and were able to sit outside on a wonderful cool night.

Latin King has undergone a delightful transformation under its new ownership, and the results are simply spectacular. I've gone to Latin King for 20+ years, so I was hesitant at first when they first changed owners, but I'm so thankful for the smooth transition and that they kept true to the traditional recipes. From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The decor is charming and sophisticated, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. You feel like you're in Italy, in a legitimate Italian restaurant, with the lovely smell of delicious food and spices surrounding you from the second you walk in. The true stars of the show are the culinary creations. The menu boasts a delightful selection of classic Italian dishes, each prepared with passion and an incredible attention to detail. We savored every bite of our food. Our appetizer combo included Fried Cheese Sticks, Onion Rings, and Fried Ravioli's, with dipping sauces on the side. The Chicken Spedini had so much flavor, I was blown away with the taste! It's what they're known for, and for a good reason. I'm particular about how my chicken is cooked, and it was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the Chicken Marsala, and he devoured the entire plate. My mother-in-law ordered the Cavatelli with the sausage meat sauce, she said it was baked to perfection. The only issue she had was that the noodles were medium-sized shells instead of the traditional cavatelli noodles, but that wasn't a make or break problem whatsoever. Every bite was an explosion of flavor, showcasing the freshest ingredients and the chef's culinary expertise. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured we had a truly enjoyable dining experience. Latin King is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine. We can't wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings. They also host parties and events and cater to special events. I highly suggest visiting their restaurant. It's impossible to leave their hungry, I promise. Enjoy!

My husband and I booked a table for our wedding anniversary. What a wonderful experience! Our waitress was phenomenal and always making sure we were taken care of! And, oh my god, get the tiramisu!!! It *is* as good as the pictures and reviews!! Latin King, we'll definitely be back!

I've been going to Latin King since before I can remember. It was always a family favorite. I haven't been back there in a few years basically because of COVID, but my husband and I decided to head over there for an early dinner after we went to town to drop my son off at the airport . They've done some updating to the inside and they now have an outdoor eating area. It was a little too warm for us to take advantage of that, but it was very nice looking . Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive . I got the dinner that came with lasagna Alfredo noodles meatballs and Italian sausage. All were very good, however I think I would have liked a little bit more spice in the meatball. The texture, however was excellent. They carry a nice selection of beers as well as they do carry O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer . The focaccia bread and dinner rolls were also very good. We are way too stuff to try dessert. Maybe next time.

Im a Minnesotan who was in town visiting a couple weeks ago..This was my first visit to Latin King. This place was fantastic in every way. I loved the atmosphere. Alex, the bartender was a rock star! They suddenly got slammed. He was kicking out drinks so quickly but did it with grace and was 'cool'. Maybe on the inside was stressed but not on the outside. He still managed to be supportive of his fellow team members and even cracked a few jokes. Being Italian myself, I asked for his suggestion, this being my first visit....What he suggested was so absolutely delicious. It reminded me of my family-cooking. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ONLY negative thing was the salad was wilty...may have been prepared ahead of time and sat with dressing for a while.... Alex really made the whole experience fantastic! This restaurant is so fortunate to have this associate on their team! Will be back for sure as I now will be traveling there, bi-weekly. Lisa Winters

My fiance and I went of for a nice dinner. We ended up here at this amazing restaurant. The food was wonderful service was great. Our waitress offered amazing choice's. The reason I give it 3 stars and 3 on atmosphere is it was so loud in that restaurant. If I'm gonna pay for an expensive dinner I would like to be able to hear the person sitting across that table from me. We could have went to a bar if we wanted that kind of experience. It was so bad I don't think I would be going back there any time soon.

Noah's Ark Ristorante is a classic 1940s Italian restaurant, bar, and banquet hall located in Central Iowa. Since 1946, it has been renowned for its exquisite Italian cuisine and provides the perfect atmosphere for various special occasions such as weddings, corporate events, and birthday parties. The banquet room in Des Moines offers packages to suit any budget without compromising on the authentic Italian flavors that patrons have enjoyed for over 70 years.
I haven't been to Noah's for years. We sat at the bar with Eric as our bartender and waiter. It was so nice to get a "real"mixed drink! Dinner was very good. Service was excellent. I tried the chicken livers with sauce on the side, they were delicious. Others had the rib special- tender and tasty sauce and the filet sandwich. Lights are dim with a date night atmosphere. We all left satisfied and happy. I would totally recommend!!

Went to Noah’s Ark with a couple other people for dinner. I was very grateful to have had the option of the specials menu for the day, and got the baked Ricotta manicotti. It was tasty, but rather pricey for what it was. It came with a small salad which I did enjoy. I personally was not intrigued by the actual menu. Especially when something is describe as having “meat” - I don’t eat all meat and don’t always want to have to ask the waiter to explain everything on a menu.

I may have to give them another try. For the price, and I love local and chains, but I had better pasta at Olive Garden or Maggiano’s. The ambience was nice, though! May come back in the future.
Nathan B — Google review
Get the pizza or calzone. I honestly am not a fan of the food but my family loves their pizza and calzones. It’s old style ambiance in the dining area which I like but just wish the food was better. If you go, get the pizza and calzone - you’ll love the pizza and even crave it at times.
Tonya R — Google review
We love the pizza, just a awesome thin crust pizza. I also really like the baked Cavatelli with meatballs, baked cheese on top. My favorite onion rings anywhere and state visited. Service this last time was awesome. The others with us said the calamari was cooked perfect. Just not too many restaurants like this around anymore.

Was visiting from out of town, great food egg plant parm was delicious, chicken parm was delicious, the lasagna was amazing, the kid got the pepperoni pizza and was good
Peter C — Google review
I went to dinner there tonight. I ordered the chicken parm. I ended up being served a ravioli dish with spaghetti. It was no big deal, mistakes happen. The server came around, frustrated with no apology. She brought back another dish with still no apology. It was a chicken breast with spaghetti sauce on top and still a side of spaghetti. It wasn’t even the chicken Parmesan I looked up the picture on other reviews of what the chicken Parmesan looks like And then I knew for sure she didn’t get it right the second time. There was a note at the front door of the restaurant that mentioned something along the lines of being friendly to staff because they are only doing their best. Maybe it’s not the people that are coming for meals, the customer but the employees. She could’ve said an apology and I got the wrong meal twice. The meal I did get was very bland, these dishes are 28 and up. I’m going to need some flavor and have high expectations with those prices. I had a fazolis meal with a high end price.
Abbey S — Google review
I love this Italian restaurant, it’s so authentic! My husband knew the owners grandparents so the restaurant has been there a long time. Jimmy, the owner, gave us a sample of what looked like a cinnamon roll but made with anchovies. I didn’t think I would like it but I tried it at home and it was delicious! My husband always has the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. The portions are so large that he took home enough for two meals! I’m working my way through the menu. My brother-in-law had the fish sampler special which he loved. Our friend, Pat Sullivan, has had pizza the last five times we ate there. I had gnocchi in Alfredo sauce. It wasn’t on the menu but they still made it for me. Every thing is so delicious! Try their homemade terramisu (sp), it’s so mouth watering that I’m tempted to eat it first. That way I won’t run out of room. Out of a five star rating, I would give Noah’s Ark a twenty! If you are hungry for Italian food, don’t eat anywhere else.

The restaurant boasts a stylish interior with 150-year-old exposed brick walls adorned with vintage photographs, creating a blend of old and new. Guests can enjoy New American entrees and small plates paired with craft cocktails in the vibrant atmosphere. Nearby, visitors can explore other dining options like Court Avenue Restaurant & Brewing Co.
I reserved their lower room for a 20 person dinner and the experience start to finish was amazing. I worked with Drew getting the reservation and menu set and they were so helpful with all the details. Lillian was our server day off and wow she handled our big group beautifully, our guests commented several times on her hospitality. The food is always amazing here and several steaks were ordered that night and all came out perfect. Will definitely use this space again for larger group parties!

Great location if you wanna stop at a nice place before you head to any downtown events! I tried the smoked margarita wow that was good and the charcuterie board was very well. Set up and high-quality variety. The service was great. I will be back.

We have enjoyed our visits to RoCA. It’s a casual upscale bar feel, and the focus is on shared plates. They also have flatbreads and an “entree” section. We have enjoyed the flatbreads and shared plates, haven’t tried any of the larger entrees. The steak de burgo shared plate is really unique, it’s hearty and tasty but fun to try! Cocktails are also good, and service has been good when we have visited.

My wife and I went for anniversary dinner and had a great night. The service was exceptional and the dinner could not have been more delicious. Even though we were full, we had to try the deserts and was not disappointed. We will be returning soon.

Went out on a date on a Monday with my husband. We were seated immediately and our server Raymond was very attentive and one of the best servers I have had. The food was amazing. If you like goat cheese try the Stuffed Peppers. The sauce and the arugula was amazing in one bite. I got the one pan Salmon. The risotto was perfect. Creamy not grainy or half done as other places I have been to. The lemon sauce was not overpowering and the spinach and tomatoes with the salmon was just the best. The chef definitely knows what they are doing. I can't wait to come back and try something else on their menu.

RoCA offers a delightful dining experience with standout tapas. Their Gotham Sour whiskey cocktail is expertly crafted, while the yellowfin tuna is fresh and flavorful. The ambiance and service complement the exceptional food. A must-visit for tapas lovers!

Not an inexpensive restaurant by any means but I do have to say the quality of the food was very good. Our group ordered mostly appetizers to pass around. The apps were between 15-20.00 each. My only negative would be the serving portions were very small on the appetizers considering the price. For example one appetizers was stuffed peppers, the peppers were very small almost the size of a grape tomato and there were only 7-8 small peppers. They had a large drink selection and the drinks were great.

Tumea & Sons Restaurant is a beloved, family-owned Italian eatery located in the heart of Des Moines' southside. The menu features a variety of Italian specialties, including homemade onion rings, garlic cheese bread, stuffed manicotti, shrimp scampi, and Steak De Burgo.
I just went to Tumea&sons for my first time ever tonight and it was absolutely everything I expected it to be and more. It was my husband and my first visit to this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the wait staff were wonderful, and our meal was not at all rushed. We ordered the toasted ravioli app, which was great. Our salad/soup was not served until we had finished our app, likewise, our main was not served until those had been finished. Service was attentive, no need was left unaddressed. We felt prices were very fair, wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Worst experience as possible! To be excited to eat at a place you’ve called home for so many years! What a disappointment! The Mediterranean salad that could be shared with the table for 15.00 dollars was a joke! The house made dressing was spot on! My waitress was a walking dead zombie who had no people skills whatsoever so ever!!!! Horrible experience! No wonder everyone has told me the service here has become a joke!!!

Nestled in the heart of Des Moines, Baratta's Restaurant and Catering has been a beloved community fixture for over 50 years. Originally starting as a grocery store, this family-owned establishment has transformed into a charming eatery that offers an inviting atmosphere across four casual dining rooms. Guests can indulge in classic Italian dishes alongside American favorites, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The menu is a delightful journey through flavors, featuring homemade specialties like fried ravioli to kick off your meal.
My wife and I visited here after doing a test drive at a car lot in Indianola. We shared a pizza - I believe it was the Dan's special. Maybe it was the Joe's Special. They have very good bruscheta. The drink menu was very tempting and constructed by a bartender who definitely knew her craft. The cannoli is homemade, and that certainly adds to the value. We received excellent, friendly and professional service. The restaurant was clean. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

My husband and i wanted to try this place so bad Saturday August 2 2025 we finally got to go and it was amazing he was so happy that he kept saying it’s the real thing! It was a little loud but that’s only because it was so packed with some really nice costumer and staff everyone was having such a wonderful time they gave us bread before our food came out and the soup was amazing I couldn’t get enough of the soup the appetizers were amazing the cheese pull on the motz were incredible the homemade dipping sauces I also loved. My dish was half Alfredo and half red sauce i will be ordering it again and my old man had spaghetti and chicken I can’t remember what either dish is called. we had the best time. we haven’t eaten at a 5 star restaurant before this was a 5 star for sure!

Been here many times over the years. I always know we'll have something delicious and great service. My wife loves the Amaggio chicken, she orders it more times than not. Portions are fair size but I'm sure they are trying to keep costs down. My chicken parmesan was very good but the portion is a little small in my opinion. I've always recommended this place to others and we'll keep coming back.

We used Baratta's as our wedding catere and it was absolutely fabulous. We felt cared for during the whole experience and had a great time working with Michelle. All of our guests commented on how delicious our food was and they loved that we did a family style dinner, which Baratta's accommodated attentively. Our wedding was on the larger side and Baratta's handled it with ease. We did a wedding tasting beforehand and they were able to accommodate all of our requests. If we wanted to sample a combination of some items on the catering menu, they made it fresh and brought it out to us while at the restaurant. They even accommodated the dietary restrictions that we requested for a few specific guests and made the whole experience as stress-free as possible. We would recommend Baratta's to anyone considering using them as a wedding vendor.

We had Barattas cater our wedding and it was amazing! We decided to go with beef tenderloin with cabernet reduction sauce and chicken ammagio with a lemon cream sauce for our entrees as well as potato dauphinoise and green beens. The Good: The kids got a kick out of the Cleveland Browns decor all the way out in Des Moines. They turned into a Progressive commercial when the drinks came out. "Oooo! They've got the good ice!" The server was attentive and personable. The OK: The wings were good, but not anything to write home about. The not so great: the prices. 8 wings for $17 should be REALLY GOOD... Not just ok. At the very least, pair them with some fries or a side at that price.

Stopped by for a quick bite and really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was clean, not very crowded and more welcoming than most sports bars. Loved the trans flag 🩵🩷🤍. We got the French dip and the chicken Caesar pizza. Crust was good, and we’d love to come try one of the more traditional pizzas. The French dip leaned towards more of the vinegary side due to the giardinera and the au jus was a bit clearer and less salty than I’d like but overall a really solid sandwich. It is worth visiting more than once.

Do not order here. I normally support local but this place is beyond disgusting. We (girlfriend and I) ordered the sweet chili chicken pizza, chicken wings, and the chicken parm, and it was inedible. As in it tasted like kitchen chemicals. We saved a sample of the chicken on the pizza and are getting it lab tested with an at home kit and sending a sample out. If we find anything you can best believe this place is getting sued into oblivion. Absolutely disgusting. Buyer beware.

**WARNING** Online prices are not in store prices!!! The sandwich you see "Dads Killer Sandwich" online is 6 dollars in store, $12.99! QT makes a better sub!!! $30 for 3 items a sub, burger, and onion rings!!! On top of that, there is no drink. You have to buy that separately!!! I was severely disappointed! Over Rated. Over Priced. Absolutely Not Worth It!!!! They are very misleading about prices, in today market, HELL NO!!!

Referred to this place by a friend. Walked in and was amazed by the decor on the wall. Very obvious this place has been in the family for decades based of the decor and pictures documenting the family that has grown up in the business. Went to the meat counter and was told to get “Zach’s Killer Italian”. It was fresh, it was packed with meat, it was absolutely killer! Met the current owner Johnny and he was a riot, told some good jokes, informed us of the history and even gave us a quick tour. His I believe niece was working the front counter and was very friendly and told us a bit about the history of the place also. I live about 1 1/2 hours away and was in town on work otherwise I would have absolutely bought some of the meat from them, I am certain it would be some of the best meat I could find. Next time in in town and am able to drive straight home I’ll be swinging in to get another sandwich and buy some of the meat that will be freshly cut and hopefully hear some more of Johnnys jokes. Don’t even mess around with other sandwich shops, you are reading about the best joint in the area!!

My first trip! Been forgetting to come here forever. So happy to have time and remember. Simple set up with meats, cheeses, desserts, sides. Also full sandwich shop with dozens of choices. They recommended the grinder so that's what l went with. Very good sandwich. It was spicier than I expected, but I love a little spice. The tiniest skimpy on the filling. Bun was soft and fresh. I added chips and a cookie for a total of $11. Fair pricing! Everyone working was pleasant. I chose to take mine to work to eat, but there is a dine in option, too. Very cool place that I will visit more often! When I remember!

Maggie's Rumble Room is a charming neighborhood bar that has transformed the former Sambetti's location on 2nd Avenue into a retro haven filled with motorcycle and music memorabilia. This inviting spot boasts an eclectic atmosphere reminiscent of the effortlessly cool girl in high school, where everyone feels welcome.
This was my first time ordering from Maggie's, and I was not disappointed! The mozzarella sticks were huge, and the perfect combination of crispy outside and melty inside. The poppers are not spicy, but the flavor is perfection. I wasn't sure about pesto and artichoke hearts on pizza, but it totally works. This restaurant will definitely be in my regul rotation from now on.

This was originally the location of a place called Sambetti's which I hadn't gone to because I was probably too young but I did hear about it having an excellent grinder sandwich from my dad who grew up nearby. First of all it's really a great place with a fun vibe. Unfortunately the city of Des Moines has been tearing up 2nd avenue for years now so it's Always an obstacle course to deal with but once you're there it's well worth it and there is plenty of parking spaces. The first time I went with my girlfriend and we tried the 'green elephant' pesto pizza which we had heard about as being excellent and it really was. Our waitress was Kelsey and she was really fun. You could tell she loved her job. On another night I played in a band there & met the famous Maggie and she's totally cool and has a great sense of humor. There's a lot of interesting stuff on the walls and believe it or not a Led Zeppelin pinball machine (goodbye quarters)! All in all a great hang, great food and a great place for listening/dancing to live local music.

Don't mind a dive bar, but waiting 55 minutes for a single peperoni pizza only for it to taste "ok" is not my idea of a good experience. Won't be going back.

Best pizza and wings in town, very unique and very delicious! Support Locally owned and operated!
John S — Google review
This place was so great. Friendly locals and staff, cold beer, and the taco pizza was bomb! Big portions and affordable prices. I will definitely be going back next time I'm in town!
Joshua S — Google review
The vibes in this bar are absolutely immaculate! The only thing that beats them is the wings!!! I've had wings from 28 different spots in the DSM area and this place is the best by a MILE! Genuinely the best I've had outside of Buffalo. The pizza is damn good too!
Matthew J — Google review
This was the most unpresentable place I have ever been! When we walked in nobody even greeted us. It looked so cute and romantic online and in person. With cigarettes on the table and all over the ground, uncleaned tables and broken chairs. We were disgusted! People want to have a nice Sunday funday and it was a complete turn off and just disgusting! We were so disappointed.
Hannah J — Google review
Cold beer, good times! We stopped in for a drink and grabbed a couple tacos. My friend had the beef, I opted for the chorizo. We each had just one and it was a perfect size. The vibe is chill and decor is throwback. With the all glass overhead garage doors- you get lots of natural light in … which is nice for lunch. The music was on point when we stopped in. The servers were on their game and we will definitely be back

Ice cream shop
Fast food restaurant
Dairy Zone, a beloved establishment in the neighborhood since 1990, is famous for its soft serve ice cream in vanilla, chocolate, or swirl flavors. The Turtle sundae is a popular choice, but visitors also rave about the Oreo Delight and Tornado treats. In addition to their sweet offerings, Dairy Zone also serves savory options like tenderloins and pizza pockets.
Absolutely fantastic service and the food/ice cream ..delicious. highly recommending this establishment

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely love Dairy Zone! It’s one of our favorite local spots, and as a family, we’re so happy to support them. The ice cream is always delicious, our orders are always spot on, and the service is consistently friendly. One of the sweetest touches is that they give free pup cups to our fur babies, which makes the whole trip even more special. Highly recommend stopping here—you won’t be disappointed!
Le R — Google review
Stopped by Dairy Zone and grabbed an Oreo Tornado — 10/10. The Oreo-to-ice cream ratio was perfect (no skimping here!), and it was blended just right. The staff was friendly and fast, even with a busy line. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in Des Moines and craving a solid frozen treat.
Michael L — Google review
It is my favorite ice cream place in town....but today was very dissatisfied. I ordered a Jr. chocolate shake for my wife and a Medium pineapple shake for myself. I usually get butterscotch and was leaning toward the black raspberry shake today. I love pineapple...a summer flavor... and its super hot today. So...I wanted to give it a try. All it was was a vanilla shake with very bland tasting super small chunks of what tasted like very expired ...dry tasting freeze dried pineapple. No flavor. Tasted like a vanilla shake with a couple of nasty straw cloggers. 💔👎🫩

The most accurate sign in town. I’d going everyday if I had my 25 year old metabolism back!
Lara M — Google review
The menu board didn't state anywhere that the cheeseburger is actually a loose meat sandwich, plus the seasoning was so strong we couldn't eat it. We've been here before, there's typically a line out into the street that moves quickly and the ice cream treats are good enough to keep us coming back to support a small, locally owned business. The service has typically been direct and quick, never what I'd call friendly but they do a great job considering the crowds. Tonight was significantly different. The line was less than usual, probably because of the fair and rain. When it was our turn at the speaker, the employee interrupted multiple times and kept saying "is that all?" "anything else?" leaving me feeling like she was not really hearing me. She didn't repeat the order, which I should have asked her to do. When I got to the window and paid, (without being given a total) the bag felt light so I double checked the food. We were missing 1/3 of what we ordered (chicken tenders and fries). She had already closed the window. When she reopened it, she tried to give me the next person's order. I let her know we were missing food. She didn't say anything, turned away, then came back and said she only charged us for one and stared blankly at me. No apology, no solution suggestion, just a blank state. I drove away because I couldn't deal with her and didn't want to wait another 10+ minutes. IDK if she was the same employee from the speaker or two separate ones, but either way, the service and food fell WAY short today.
Rhonda B — Google review
Went in for a tornado and paid 7.50 for luke warm soup. Then was fed the line that their "ice scream machine can't keep up with the heat" what an absolute joke. Dairy zone yet again proving their don't care about their customers. Might have better luck getting ice cream at Mc Donald's today best of luck
Zachy S — Google review
I ordered a Sunday for $3.59 something like that I got to the window it was almost $10 for a small Sunday it was all chocolate two baby scoops of ice cream do not recommend going here the lady wouldn't let me have a refund she shut the window on me

Pagliai's Pizza is a family-owned and operated pizza restaurant with stone oven pizzas. They offer pasta, subs, wine and beer as well as other Italian dishes. The atmosphere is busy and comfortable, perfect for catching up with friends.
Pagliai's (sounds like, Polly-Eyes) came highly recommended by coworkers as we are new to the area. My kids are Pizza and Pasta critics respectively and they were both pleased. Tough critics and they were impressed. Price is fair, close to $15-20 per person. I liked the Italian Stroganoff, my son enjoyed the pizza, and the others had alfredo. All were happy and a nice classic pizza place atmosphere with an open kitchen.
Jordan L — Google review
Great pie and quick service. Was doubtful when we pulled in. Only two cars Went in and were seated right away. Saw only one other couple. Asked the server for the best on the menu and got a pleasant surprise. Definitely coming back and trying the pasta 😍
Scott N — Google review
Great place with great food. Service a tad slow but that's because it was prime time and really busy because it's really good. Overall, very pleased.
Paul B — Google review
Shout out big time to Pagliai’s in Johnston. We recently had a teacher reunion and asked if their party room was available for a group of 25. They not only served us individually with separate checks, the room was free of charge. The food was delicious and given everyone ordered different meals from the menu the staff managed with a resounding success. Hats off to our server, cooks, and manager who were amazing in hosting and feeding our group!
Susan V — Google review
Walking in, the smells sure let you know how good the pizza is going to be! Couldn't have asked for a better Monday night meal of breadsticks and cheeseburger pizza. So good!
Amber B — Google review
We are regulars at Pagliai's. We always get the thin crust house pizza and their Greek salad. We order the large so we can take home leftovers (1/2 the pizza). Plenty of pizza toppings and consistently great food. Friendly service. Never disappointed.
Doug H — Google review
The food was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. They offer a military discount. The pizzas we got were fresh and hot when they came out. We had the BBQ brisket, yummy. The meat lovers delicious, and a pepperoni and a cheese pizza for the kids. Definitely be coming back here again to try new items.
Hank B — Google review
I grew up with Pagliai's in MN. Absolutely love it. The reason I did not rate a 5 is there was minimal sauce. Dry. Honestly, their sauce is why they stand out. Need to increase sauce amount. That said, everyone needs to try pagliai's

Chuck Celsi's Tavern Restaurant is a family-friendly grill offering thin-crust and deep-dish pizza, drinks & other Italian dishes. It's been serving up great food and drinks to the metro for generations and its recipes have been passed down for generations.
Stopped in to order takeout and have a drink while they made the food. Staff was friendly and attentive. The pizza was done quicker than I anticipated and it was awesome! The entire family loved it. Will definitely be back.
Bryce C — Google review
Ordered the Grinder, Toasted Ravioli, and a side Caesar Salad for lunch. The grinder was pretty good. Unfortunately the toasted ravioli was overcooked, almost like biting into a rock, and the salad had a lot of soggy, brown, and wilted pieces. Cooks need to double check things. Not sure who thought it was a good idea to let food like this leave kitchen.
Adam H — Google review
A big no for this place. Always remembered the Tavern as having really good pizza and Italian sandwiches. Hardly anyone in there which was the first red flag. Then asked for a drink, nothing special, asked for four different drinks, had none of them, second red flag, they had no mixes for them, didn't know what alcohol was what and ended up with water. What was really funny was that the waitress told us of two other places down the road that had good drinks. What?? Third red flag. Then ordered an Italian sandwich, looked good, fries were good. Sandwich had way too much sauce and was too salty. Out of red flags. Maybe the same "old" clientele still comes in, but it is time to change it up to stay in business. I really like to see these older businesses continue but you need to make some changes!!
Jane B — Google review
It was our first time here. It smelled so good outside we had to try it. We ordered a medium The Works pizza. Their pizza is thin crust. Unfortunately for me it tasted like a frozen pizza. We didn't order anything else but I would not order the pizza again if I were to go back.
Kim B — Google review
This was my 2nd time back here and I was a little disappointed this time around, not to the point I won't come back, but I will definitely make a different menu selection. The cheese sticks are absolutely amazing and I will order these every time with the ranch dressing, some of the best dressing ever! But the onion rings were super thin and all I tasted was oil. A far cry from the last time I was here. The garlic cheese bread is decent and edible, but do yourself a favor, and don't waste your money. Go to Little Caesars and buy some Crazy Bread, it's way better and cheaper. I ordered the pork tenderloin with french fries, which they should have said on the menu that the fries are more like 'steak' or 'home-sliced' fries, instead of 'french-fries.' There is a difference when it comes to that, and being and 'Italian' place, I figured they would be offering regular French fries, my mistake. But back to the tenderloin: If your looking for a great tenderloin that Iowa is known for, keep looking, you won't find that here. This just seems like an ordinary frozen piece of meat that's overly breaded, and served with an over-powering taste of of mustard. The one positive thing I can say about this place was our server; despite not being able to hear him to well because he must have lost his voice due to something recently, other than that he did a tremendous job and he should be recognized for his excellent work. The real kicker at the end our lunch is we had to pay with a credit card, after our bill of $68 came because the manager said he couldn't make change for a $100. This was Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, just past noon mind you. Updated-10/30/24 This time around was a way better experience. Started with broccoli cheese soup which was good, not amazing as it was a little bland for me, but still good. Decided to order a chocolate malt and it turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. I ordered the chicken alfredo pizza and added spinach. This was amazing, the crust was cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, the waitress had the entire section by herself and was it was completely filled, but she did a wonderful job.

Been wanting to try this for months! Finally made it in on a Tuesday for lunch at 1. No nonsense interior/decor. Seemed clean. Greeted and seated quickly. Server curt but not necessarily unfriendly. Ordered the lunch special of pizza, salad, pop for $11.50. Added a single serving of onion rings for $4. It wasn't too busy. There was a gal cleaning off tables that was super pleasant. Came over and said hello, wiped my table top quick. She was also the one to say thanks when I left and invited me to come back. Food out quick. Salad first within minutes. Their creamy parmesan dressing is very good! And you can buy a bottle to take home! Onion rings and pizza out at the same time and both were yummy. Thin onion rings, thin crust on the pizza. Total was $16 and I left a generous tip for the woman cleaning tables. I will go back sometime.
Ellen P — Google review
My three friends and I chose “The Tavern” because it had been a long while since we had been there. We were too excited to order a large onion ring and 10 pc cheese sticks for our appetizers along with 2 large pizzas and a calzone. We asked for a larger table and was denied. There were two other people dining, the restaurant was pretty much empty at 7:30 PM on a Monday night.Even the manager denied us a larger seating area and was rude about it to boot. We were crammed into a 4 seater table with no elbow room. Onion rings were crumbs (hardly any onions at all) cheese sticks had most of the cheese fried right of them. Pizzas were REALLY greasy, calzone was rock hard. Had to ask for refills because nobody was checking on us. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!! Edit: Out waitress at least had a sense of humor.
Christine W — Google review
Our favorite spot for thin crust pizza, hands down! We try to stop every time we are in Des Moines. Thin & crispy with big chunks of toppings... just the way we like it! Onion rings are awesome... just the right amount of breading on thin cut rings. Yum!

Granny's Sweet Freeze is a charming soft-serve ice cream stand that offers a wide variety of flavors and toppings. Customers can enjoy their tasty treats at nearby picnic tables. The menu includes options like Arctic Swirls, sundaes, floats, shakes, sodas, slushes, and ices. Patrons can choose from an assortment of dips and toppings or opt for the flavor of the week.
Love all of the options! I was feeling dipped soft-serve after the dog park. Quality stuff here! There are a few tables off to the side where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. Kind of a weird area for an ice cream shop but don't let that deter you. We left super happy!!!

I have LOVED this family run shop since I was a kid! This place is an East Side staple! I used to love their Brownie Delights as a kid, and now as an adult have started to really enjoy the Arctic Freezes and their delicious flavorful soft serves! Tonight I tried the Pineapple Upside Down cake, and my son had Oreo. This place offers such a great value for the money. Friendly and efficient staff, and good quality Ice cream and treats!

An absolute favorite of mine since I was tiny in the 80's! When I moved back to Iowa a couple years ago, I was ecstatic to see that Granny's was still around. Love to be able to take my kids to my childhood favorite.

I went today, first time, I had the black cherry with vanilla swirl ice cream cone and my son had the Hawaiian, pinnaple, strawberries swirl... It was the best ice cream we've had in a while. I'm definitely putting them on my top ice cream places to go and we give them a Ten.

Went today (7/17) for the first time. I did not feel rushed and the employees were very friendly. I ordered a s’mores attic swirl, Oreo shake, and a sugar free blue raspberry slushie. When I mentioned that the slushie was for a diabetic, they quadrupled checked to make sure there was extremely little to no sugar. Very informative on the amount they put in and that there would be even less than 0.5 grams of sugar. That service itself had me impressed and the ice cream was delicious! I may have found my new favorite ice cream place! I recommend it for sure!!!

Dough Mama's Pizzeria is a late-night spot in Des Moines, open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, making it convenient for those looking for a late-night bite. The pizzeria offers a variety of specialty pizza flavors such as Hot Honey Chicken, Lasagna, Bianca (White), and Chicken Parmigiana. Customers can grab-and-go or place an order ahead for takeout.
Had a good time here the other night. Getting food late at night in Des Moines is a challenge, but I was happy Dough Mama’s was open. They also had anchovies which I know is controversial, but I love them. Service was great. And the bathrooms were a great place to snap a quick selfie for the ‘gram.
John K — Google review
They said ready in 20 min. I get there 25 min after I ordered. They haven’t even started the order. Pizza is a 4/10. They guy was nice. I can tell he’s doing it all on his own. Just maybe hire someone to help on Friday and Saturday. Reheat pizza slices look like they had been out at least since morning. It’s 6 now.
John K — Google review
Good pizza! Decent size slices too. Order on a kiosk and it's ready fast.
Nick V — Google review
Service-good. Pizza-not good. The dough tasted like it was frozen right before being put in the oven. I love a cheesy pizza but this was triple the cheese youd get on a normal pizza. Would literally never go back.
Callissa N — Google review
Dough Mama’s is an abhorrent disaster of an attempt at pizza. They should change their name to cheese on a saltine bc there isn’t a semblance of tomato sauce on their “pizza” which is basically AE mozzarella mutated onto a cracker. Please stop and just warm up frozen pizzas that you mark up. The garlic butter spread post heat is also disgusting. But either way, the service was good even if the customers were acting like a bunch of toothless dirtbags.
Chris M — Google review
This is some of the worst pizza I ever ate, probably the worse I ever paid for. The fact that there are 5 stars amazes me but also scares me. Anyone who thinks this pizza is 5 stars probably thinks the earth is flat and birds are not real too. You can just look at pictures of the pizza in reviews and see how bad it looks.
Shaquille P — Google review
While the workers were fine, the pizza itself was not good at all - dry, borderline sauceless, and bland. Even the meat seemed bland.. Also, although presented as NY-style, nothing near it
Mike P — Google review
Microwave pizza is better. The owner is in jail for what he does to women. The owner beats and stalks women. Check out the Des Moines Register 1-4-23 article on Steve McFadden. Don't eat at his establishments.
