Asian restaurant
Tiger Bites Pig is a casual dining spot in Birmingham that brings the flavors of East Asian street food to its patrons. The restaurant offers an array of Pan-Asian dishes, with a focus on their standout bao buns and hearty rice bowls. The bao buns are freshly made each morning and come with various fillings such as braised pork belly, crispy fried tofu, and more. Additionally, customers have the option to purchase Bao kits to enjoy at home.
Super helpful and accommodating staff - I have complicated dietary requirements and they went to the effort of getting the chef to annotate the menu for me, even going so far as to design a special rice bowl option that met my needs! Definitely coming back, best restaurant experience since dietary complications started last year.

The service was great, place is nice but the food sadly isn't great. The boa buns lacked flavour and they were lukewarm at best. Not sure what the fuss is about. They were nice but that's about it nothing great with a lack of flavour to them. The pork belly was the best one the beef shin was totally tasteless.
Gurpz M — Google review
We popped in here for a quick snack . After being greeted warmly we were ushered upstairs. Apart from bao bubs there were also rice dishes too. I had the pork belly with cured yolk and a side of bokchoy and mushrooms For drinks I chose the shaghai which packed a lot of punch! The flavours were incredible and would have tried more if were not eating later on! We did share a sorbet trio of strawberry, coconut and pineapple. Delicious. Overall good service just wish the side of bokchoy had more mushrooms and was less pricy for that it was

I’ve been a big fan of TBP since their days near New Street Station — they were my go-to lunch spot, and I always looked forward to visiting. I’ve only been to the new location twice, and unfortunately, both visits left me a bit disappointed. The first time, the chicken didn’t smell quite right, and the second time, the rice was undercooked. I even brought friends along for the second visit, and they shared the same experience with the rice. That said, I do appreciate that the team made adjustments to the bill, which shows they care about customer satisfaction. I still love TBP’s food — you can tell each ingredient is prepared with care. I’m hopeful that our next visit will be more in line with the quality I remember from their original spot.

The most amazing Red Braised Pork Belly, It quite literally melts in your mouth, highly recommend the sweet and sour pork side dish, the most succulent pork I have ever tasted, and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend for all occasions, nice atmosphere and lovely service!!!
Jeevan S — Google review
I cannot even begin to describe how good the rice bowls are here, genuinely the the best. I make sure I visit each time I visit the town centre. Cannot wait to come back, best pork ever hands down! ***EDIT*** The above review was at the old location. This new location has ruined what made it so special. The food itself doesn't seem the same, smaller portions, less meat, less pickled veg, no nut sauce... Everything that was good about it feels to have gone... after being an avid support of TBP, I feel there's no longer a reason to come here. Sad. You can even see the difference in the photos of the rice bowls instantly.
M R — Google review
We found this place by chance, but had seen it come up in a recent list of good Asian food places in the city. We intended to go for a meal but thought we would have a starter here before we moved on. Enticed by the menu, we ordered a few things and we were really impressed by what was delivered. Great flavour and texture in every dish. We will definitely return and recommend it. The atmosphere let it down but really it is an in and out joint.

Superb Bao, the pork belly, beef shin, duck and lamb were all amazing. (Vegan is available) . Really close to the centre. Not far from pigeon park. Nice cocktails and beers also.

Bonehead is a popular spot in Birmingham known for its delicious fried chicken sandwiches and plates, as well as a selection of craft beers. The restaurant uses only Cotswold chickens and a crispy batter that sets it apart from the competition. With a dive bar atmosphere, Bonehead offers classic flavors like buffalo and barbecue, along with more unique options such as sriracha honey glaze. Whether you prefer thighs, breasts, legs, wings or are vegan, there's something for everyone at Bonehead.
Came in here during a few days break in Birmingham and I had heard good things about this place. Me and my partner had a burger each and a sharer dirty fries. Burgers were awesome and huge and the sharer was really nice as well. They have a nice selection of guest beers to choice from advertised on the wall near the bar. Staff were friendly and food came out quick and well-presented. We sat downstairs but there is an upstairs seating area for when it gets busier I am guessing. The place has an alternative look with posters of many rock/metal bands on the walls and a place were i guess punters put photos which is cool. I will come back here again, Lovely little place.

One of the best chicken I’ve ever had. Food came out piping hot, with crispy skin on the outside and juicy inside, best combo with waffle fries. The place and its decor also has a lot of character.
Iris I — Google review
Bloody amazing! Soft juicy chicken, whether that’s wings, tenders or burger. Delicious seasoning, waffle fries were lovely too. Really friendly staff and great vibe, loved everything about Bonehead. Thank you for looking after us 💪🏽
Anna B — Google review
Boneheaded is the best fried chicken I have ever had. Period. I honestly can’t emphasise enough how much I love this place. Love the atmosphere and the moody decor; staff are always quick to hand and attentive; food is outstanding - cooked perfectly and incredibly well seasoned. Check out the pictures, they speak for themselves. My go to is the buffalo soldier doubled up with cinema waffle fries (not pictured). It’s walk in only, and 100% worth a visit, repeatedly! Don’t skip this place if in Birmingham, you’ll regret it!
Dr. M — Google review
Me and my son visited Birmingham as we were down for the Back To The Beginning Black Sabbath concert, we headed to Bonehead the night before. WOW what a place, some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The waffle fries were amazing too. The food was only topped by the incredible atmosphere, and the friendly and helpful staff who couldn't have done any more for us.....if I could squeeze another star in I would 🤘😀🤘
Garry R — Google review
Bonehead is a place we’ve always wanted to visit. There was a short 20 min wait to enter, but we were expecting longer, so we were more than happy to wait. After 15 mins o got a text to say the table is ready. My partner ordered the thighs & tots and was very impressed with the meal. I thought her portion size was great too. I had the Bonehead Burger & Katsu Tots, and in the end I was a little jealous of my partners order instead. The burger was good, I wasn’t overly keen on some of the flavours of the sauce on the burger. I thought the Katsu sauce was a little sweet & not even on the tots, just a dollop underneath the garnish. Overall i thought it was okay. If I was to come back I’d 100% get the thighs on their own as it’s not only a bigger potion, but cheaper too. I’d also go for a different flavour tots. The gravy was really nice too. The interior was a bit of me, and I really liked the playlist too.
Aaron — Google review
Best chicken burger (and probably best chicken) I’ve ever had. Super juicy, tender and flavourful, and came in nicely sized portions. The waffle fries are super crispy and delicious too. It does get very busy but it’s well worth the little extra wait.
Francesca M — Google review
Great service and top music! I had the hothead wings and hothead thigh and leg, juicy and crispy...but could have done with more heat. If you are a Nashville Hot Chicken aficionado, ask for some extra heat on your bird. I would certainly recommend.

Mexican restaurant
Habaneros is a Tex Mex restaurant located in Birmingham, originally starting as a food truck and now having a permanent location at Great Western Arcade. They offer sizable portions of tacos, burritos, and nachos with various fillings and toppings to choose from. The restaurant provides fantastic Mexican street food for collection, allowing customers to text their orders for quick pickup within 30 minutes.
Just outstanding When someone is good at what they do, has passion. You get quality like Habenero’s It does not matter what you pick. Every thing is good.
Matthew B — Google review
I ordered a pulled pork burrito from Habaneros today, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. The cheese had an off taste, which completely ruined the meal. Several colleagues who also ordered agreed that something was not right. For a place that is always busy for lunch, this was unacceptable. Quality control needs serious improvement—I won’t be returning anytime soon.
Nikhil C — Google review
Ben and Carl brought the Haberno’s street van to serve fantastic burritos for our wedding anniversary party last month. All the guests said how fabulous the food was. Fresh, tasty, generous portions, with great choice of sauces and extras. They made it all happen, great service, plus a very reasonable way to feed 120 people a delicious meal! So glad we booked them. We highly recommend!
Jo D — Google review
Extremely popular venue with a busy lunch rush most days. Decent value for money, not massive burrito but definetly decent sized. Felt like it’s a bit overrated though, the meat was not that flavourful and spicy sauces lacking a decent kick. Was decent but not worth the hype. Mostly takeaway only. Will note service is extremely quick which is good, but wonder if it is affecting quality.
Ben Z — Google review
Our office come here a few times a week food is always great, Our hump day go to! korean pulled pork 🤌🏿 There is a queue but don't let that put you off-its fast and the food IS worth it!! Unfortunately this week (Wed) it comes down to a staff/service issue when it gets to the final part of getting the food the sauce and packing bit, the chap is rude & impolite ,which we have come to expect but this week it was next level (in comparison to the other staff who were great!) Plus burrito was very poorly wrapped so most of our office have switched to the rice box and homemade nachos which are definitely worth a try! Other than that its efficient & delicious , highly recommended
Donovan — Google review
Visited last Wednesday with office colleagues and Lets start with I’m a first time customer, so the menu is new to me and it looks fab! A lot to choose from which is nice ,had a lovely lady serve me to take my order and while I was deciding she was interrupted and spoken over by her colleague as I wasn’t making my choice quick enough! It made the whole experience very overwhelming and I was embarrassed to witness on her behalf as it then continued while she served the following customers . BUT once past the initial part (where they put in the hot fillings)the tension reduced as the servers at this station were calm and friendly ! I had a great choice in salad ,all very fresh and lots of sauce options. In general the food (I went for a burrito) was fab , I would personally myself try and go at a quieter time as so I wouldn’t feel like an inconvenience .
Jp — Google review
Great little spot in the city center, been a frequent visitor since the van . chicken tinger seems to have changed of a recent-rubbery- hopefully a short term thing, there’s been a bout of new staff over the last few weeks which has been a pleasant change very friendly ,helpful and make a great burrito! Recommend the homemade nachos and the roasted veg
Jason B — Google review
I love this place. It's really well located within the Great Western Arcade near Colmore Row. My go-to here is the burrito bowl. All the flavour and taste of burrito minus the wrap. I highly recommend getting the beef, it melts in your mouth. My photo just doesn't do it justice!! Service is great, they're friendly and fast.

Cured ham store
Anderson & Hill, located in Birmingham's Great Western Arcade, is renowned for its deli-style sandwiches with generous and delicious fillings. The menu features options like the Bavarian sandwich with German salami, smoked cheese, gherkins, and mayo or the Parisian with garlic sausage and Normandy camembert. In addition to sandwiches, the shop offers a variety of fine foods such as cheeses, cured meats, chutneys, oils, caviar, and pates.
Went there on a Monday at lunchtime and it was a bit busy but not too bad! The people were very friendly and we got the sandwiches pretty quickly. We got the Roman with the tomato soup and a Bavarian. The bread is amazing - really fresh and soft. Both sandwiches and great cheese and nice meats. The Bavarian was generous with the pickles. I loved the soup as well!
Arden — Google review
Went in today to order a salad however once I paid they realised they didn't have the ingredients. They asked what else I'd like so chose a soup and half a sandwich and was not disappointed - it was absolutely delicious. They didn't charge me extra for the change, and the service was lovely. Thank you!
Jessica G — Google review
Great deli with a good variety of specialist goodies. We came here to pick up Spanish cheese, Iberico and Serrano ham, as we're not permitted to bring it from Spain now. Friendly service, I spent a fortune, but have no way of knowing whether it's more expensive than other places, as it's all about availability for the moment. Some of the other fine foods and wine/whisky stores in the arcade make it a fabulous place to shop for that special occasion.
James B — Google review
A good charcuterie should be comfortable. Anderson & Hill, like Lichfield’s Cheese Cavern maximises the floor and ceiling space. Filling it with a raft of delights to nibble, snack and gorge on. At the checkout there is a beautiful display of meats, cheeses and antipasto. Being a lover of cheese, the accommodating patron assisted me in choosing my cheese. The cheese was thoughtfully packaged and cut to my preferred size. A Relaxed and enjoyable experience.
David C — Google review
I've heard of this place and I have only recently had the chance to go here regularly. These are hands down the best sandwiches in city centre and they're priced very well for city centre prior warning though this place sells out and once they're done they're done. I'll keep on visiting; but they have to start doing coffee here then I'll have no excuse to use another shop!
Mark L — Google review
I've never really been to such a 'select' location as this. My girl took me there. It reminded initially, due to the decor, of an upper class general store from the early Victorian era and as such I felt entirely out of my comfort zone. I was very wrong. It's a great deli with an excellent assortment of food and fine produce from all over the world. I had my girl with her exquisite taste to guide me; but it was relieving to know that the cashier was knowledgeable and more importantly approachable.
Doug P — Google review
Best Sandwich in Birmingham! Been coming here for 10 years! Consistent and impeccable quality. I've already smashed my sandwich so took a pic of the last remaining but lol. Keep it up!
Bal B — Google review
They have a good selection but the staff aren’t familiar with any of their products. It’s really disappointing to see because they have products that usually cannot be found elsewhere but when it is like this it makes us not want to go anymore. We asked for 100 grams of guancale and were given 300 grams and told it was 30 grams… Then we also wanted some pecorino romano cheese and they were not familiar with it, and gave and charged us for something entirely different?

Indian restaurant
Located in Birmingham, The Indian Streatery is a laid-back restaurant that offers a blend of Indian cuisine, craft beers, and cocktails. Originally starting as street food traders under the name The Indian Rasoi, they have now transformed into a sleek eatery on Bennetts Hill. With a menu that bridges generations and stays true to their street food roots during the day, this family-owned establishment provides traditional and authentic dishes.
Unique menu everything was delicious and staff very attentive even when it got a bit busy. Great veg and non-veg options. Please improve desserts they were below the quality of the main menu!
Victoria F — Google review
It was an excellent choice to eat here as the food was very delicious, the service was perfect and we had to taste new things for the first time. The atmosphere, however, is a bit of a problem since the restaurant is so small. I'm not tall but yet I felt uncomfortable in the tiny middle table. Albeit that, everything was a delight.
Cleber F — Google review
Although the beer choices here were somewhat limited compared to other places, the food did not disappoint. It is a little bit less pub-like and seems more semi-formalish. The food portions were very generous and there was nothing we complained about the taste. Overall a good experience, and the service was very attentive.
Minh N — Google review
I visited Indian Streetery as my last ever meal in Birmingham, before moving away. The food was amazing. The service was spot on. I can’t recommend it enough. Prices are reasonable, especially for a city centre venue with 10/10 meals. The stories linked to each dish on the menu are a nice touch. If I’m ever back in Brum, I’d definitely return for another feast!
Bradley W — Google review
All of the staff were so lovely, attentive and knowledgeable. They gave perfect recommendations that definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing and so were the cocktails! Would definitely come again!

This place is so good. Enjoyed all the dishes. We ordered a lot had a nice dinner with Jitesh. Staff was very cooperative.
Shanti C — Google review
Solid Indian fare - serving full dishes and Tapas small plates, which I found to be quite large! I would have liked a few more peas and cheese in the Mutter Paneer but only because the sauce was so beautifully tasty, and I wanted it to take longer to eat! The Roti selections were interesting and good and the Yellow Dhal was totally authentic. I didn't need the 'third plate' which was recommended, maybe because I was disappointed by the lack of pakora and far too much Chaat. My mistake really. The Mango IPA beer complemented the food perfectly.
Duncan H — Google review
I had a very very disappointing experience at The Indian Streatery. The glasses were not clean, and the pakora chaat we ordered had burnt pakoras with only one pakora and sev, which spoiled the taste. The girl serving us showed attitude right from the moment we entered the restaurant. On top of that, the food was not fulfilling or satisfying. Overall, it was not a pleasant visit, and I hope the management improves both the food quality and customer service.

Located in Birmingham City Centre, Damascena is a local chain with multiple locations across the city. It offers a warm and traditional environment where visitors can enjoy Turkish coffee, Middle Eastern cuisine, and delectable pastries. The breakfast menu features classic avocado and egg dishes as well as unique options like the Juz-Muz, a flavorful scrambled egg dish served with chillies and tomatoes.
A great spot to catch up with friends, grab a bite, have a meeting, or work. I visited last month for work meetings and was very satisfied with the food. Service can be a bit slow, and we often had to seek out a server or request attention. Our table also wasn’t cleared, so we ended up stacking dishes and glasses to make space. Highlights for me were the wraps, mannish, iced teas, and the Oreo milkshake -all excellent!
Z R — Google review
The atmosphere at Damascena is truly amazing — such a pleasant and welcoming vibe. Special thanks to Bardia, who is extremely helpful and supportive, always guiding with food choices — I can’t say enough about how great the service is. The food is delicious and very diverse; I’ve tried different wraps, sandwiches, and shawarmas, and really enjoyed them all. Sometimes the dishes are a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall the variety and quality are excellent. The place itself is lovely, the only downside is that the parking space is quite limited.
Bahareh M — Google review
Beautiful locals in the center of town. You maybe lucky to find parking locally, but there's motorcycling parking right next to it. We were seated quickly with and the atmosphere is lovely inside and out. On good days there is seating outside. There's lots of drinks and food options which was a nice surprise. The menu has a fair number of vegetarian options available. Food arrived quickly and was nicer than I expected. It's a nice place to come to sadly the staff really need a moral boost. I understand it can get busy but a friendly demeanor would make the place that much more welcoming. All in all I'd be looking to pop by again. ENJOY.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the warm smells of their chai spices. We were looking for a late night hot drink and Damascena was the perfect place for a karak chai. Whilst enjoying our delicious hot drinks, we had a look at their food menu and knew we had to come back. The next morning, we feasted on their manakeesh and fuul that reminded us of our warm homes. Compliments to chef and the very kind staff. We will definitely return to our local, far-away coffee house on our next visit to Birmingham.

What a unique place to have dinner! Spiced Chai Latte was absolutely amazing, salad was fresh, tahini kofta and pickled veggies were very flavourful. I also tried three different pastries, all of them were very lovely. As coming from the country where there are no Middle Eastern restaurants, I’ve really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back once I’m in the UK.

Cosy and friendly. Staff banter was 10/10, main menu had good selection and really tasty. Ginger, lemon and honey tea would recommend. Baklava was not to our personal taste but enjoyable still (my friend prefers it sweeter).

I don’t know usually leave reviews but this place was phenomenal. From the Food to the Hospitality, everything was perfect. I came during lunch hour so it was quite busy, but was seated quite rapidly, the waiters were working efficiently and calmly despite lunch rush. I allowed the Waiter (Umar) to give me a recommendation of the house special, and it was one of the greatest meals I’ve had in a while. The cost was appropriate for the location and atmosphere. Umar did an amazing job taking care of us despite the restaurant being busy, he was highly respectful and attentive towards us and is clearly a phenomenal worker. Will be visiting soon again.

Restaurant
The Meat Shack is a restaurant known for its cooked-to-order hamburgers and fries, located in a rustic yet contemporary interior adorned with wall art. Originally a street food stall, it has now established itself as a brick-and-mortar site on Thorp Street.
Came here for the very first time last week and it lives up to its reputation, got that cool illustrated vibe, that if you like that is nice to take it in. The food is lovely, gives American level food eatings, I would say for desert to get the jammy dodge ice cream
Arts&Trusts — Google review
This place is ought to provide high-quality service and food since the prices are fairly high. I have order a burger with loaded fries and a drink: these all have costed me over £20. While I did really enjoy the fries (they were crispy and there was plenty of them), the burger did not meet my entire expectations. As the name of the establishment suggests that they specialise in food like burgers, I expected the burger to be a bit bigger and more juice since it felt quite dry and not much flavour containing. However, if you fancy to eat decent quality junk food beyond the most famous brands and willing to pay for this - The Meat Shack is the place to give a visit. I liked the cutlery options and the atmosphere with a lot of graffiti on the walls. Nothing special about the service, though they show a respectful enough treatment. You are also asked to wait at the entrance until they find a free table for you. Overall, it is OK. Nothing shocked nor impressed me.

I love the paintings on the wall, pretty cool and interesting. The staff and music are great. The food I would say not as good as I expected. It’s good, just not that good. The salt and pepper chicken bombs are nice. The burger has lots of sauce included, which is nice. But the meat are not juicy, doesn’t looks like fresh cooking but reheated. Overall, it’s nice place to have a quick bite but don’t expect too much.

Go here. The Meat Shack serves good tasting burgers, nice fries and tasty beer. The two of us went here for a mid week meal and enjoyed the food and the beer. The buns were soft but didn’t instantly fall apart when touching the beef. The meat was tasty and cooked to my liking. The serving staff were friendly and nice. The fries were a little expensive but you can’t have burger without fries so hey ho. The venue had a cool vibe with good graffiti on the walls and good music. The atmosphere rating took a hit on here because of a large group with 4 or 5 kids getting bored and racing around.

Wow I was blown away by the Meat Shack! I am a big chicken fan and this place really exceeded expectations. I found it on Google maps, looked like my kind of thing, was quite a trek mind, totally worth it though. Don't know where to start, the small chicken plates, the messy fries, fries were all incredible. Sauces were wild, dressing was perfect, everything was so well presented, everything was red hot, everything tasted amazing. Service was fast and friendly, place is clean and buzzing. Highly recommended, I can't wait to go back.
Oliver M — Google review
Great food, good experience but not quite perfect. Went to The Meat Shack and ordered a feast, which was more than two people could eat. The burgers are excellent, thick beef patties and quality ingredients make an absolute feast of a meal. However the trays the burgers arrive in are a bit fiddly and make the eating experience messier than it needs to be. The dirty fries are nice, but next time, I'd order plain fries to contrast better with the burger. Good value and would recommend. 4 stars

Fantastic place to have a burger, probably one of the best burgers in brum. Juicy and well seasoned with many different varieties. Quick and nice service!

Great menu, great atmosphere, great staff, great vibe. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a relaxed atmosphere here but customer service is excellent as is the food. The menu is interesting and what I chose was of excellent quality as was the choice of my colleague. I'd happily eat here again.

Otto Pizza is a restaurant located in the Jewellery Quarter Caroline Street, which specializes in pizzas with bubbly crusts and other grab-and-go items for lunchtime customers. The menu also includes charcuterie boards, four dessert options (homemade tiramisu), wines and cocktails. The ingredients used on the pizzas are excellent, with the nduja, chorizo and honey wood-fired discs of joy being particularly popular.
Rustic artisanal pizzas. This is not a franchise of “everything like every other place.” Pizzas are good, decent size and tasty. Well priced. One big plus, they are pet friendly, a rare find for a restaurant. Nicely done.

You love pizza? You haven't lived until you've had a P2 from Otto! The service is impeccable and the team are so friendly! Super clean and crisp environment with a great chilled vibe and the most amazing pizza you will ever taste!

It’s just so good! Sets the standard for excellent pizzas, lovely people and good drinks. It’s a cut above the chain sourdough pizza places and I love the relaxed vibe. Have probably been 5 times all in all and never been disappointed. A mix of groups, couples, families all catered for really well. Oh also a great selection of vegetarian options that are the norm rather than an afterthought. Really highly recommended. The pizza oven is very big and a nice feature too!

Located on New Street and in the Mailbox, as well as in Wolverhampton, Medicine Bakery is a unique artisan bakery-cafe-gallery that offers an authentic and unusual selection of breads and cakes. The bakery also serves as a social space by hosting independent markets and exhibitions. With its vibrant mix of musical genres, Medicine Bakery has expanded from being a swanky bar in Digbeth to become a master of all things coffee and cake.
Oh my gosh. What a find. It’s not cheap, but that’s reflected in the location, venue, presentation of food and taste. And goodness, everything was delicious! We were a party of 6; our order consisted of the Medicine and various French toasts. The only gripe is the fried chicken from one plate to another varied quite a bit in size. We don’t know whether one was more generous, or we were short changed on the other? A bit of consistency here wouldn’t go amiss. Other than that, a perfect way to start a Sunday morning. They also allowed dogs too! Service was timely, the venue was beautiful with lots of plants, and everyone of us enjoyed our meal. Can’t wait to come back. Well done!

I’m sad to report that this was a distinctly underwhelming experience. My daughter and I decided to pop in for an afternoon drink and a pastry. We normally go to EL&N, however their recent food hygiene rating has put us off, so we thought we’d try somewhere new. Firstly, the general ambience is rather grubby and downmarket: the tables were tacky, the singular a toilet an afterthought and everywhere looked like it needed a good scrub. We had to wait for a table (no problem), however it was almost impossible to catch anyone’s eye, so the whole process was unclear. When we were seated, we were given some rather tired and shabby menus which immediately adhered themselves to the surface of the table. Not to be deterred, we made our choice from the limited selection of pastries and cakes available. I chose the passionfruit cruffin which had seen better days and was still dripping in cooking fat. It was far from the light and delicate laminated pastries that I have tried at artisan bakeries and I felt rather let down. We noticed that the general atmosphere was unfriendly, I suspect that this was partly due to the staff’s fantastic ability to avoid eye contact at all times. Even my daughter noted that she had not seen a single member of waiting staff actually smile during the entirety of our visit. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
Kate B — Google review
TLDR: I’d only recommend this place if you’re getting a pastry from the front. Long wait times (45+ mins) + no cooling system = not a great place to dine in. Came here twice and had very different experiences. When a friend and I grabbed a pastry from the front, we were served and seated right away, even moving to a booth when requested. The atmosphere was great and the interior is very aesthetic and appealing for social media. No complaints here. When I came alone a few months later to order brunch, I had a 2/5 experience. First, it took around 5-10 minutes to be seated with no acknowledgment of the long wait time, even with several moments of eye contact with staff who didn’t seem very rushed, though this can be overlooked. Second, I waited over 45 minutes for my food (not a guess or overestimate) without acknowledgment of any sort. There was a period of around 15 minutes where nothing came out of the kitchen (I had a direct view of where the food exited). During this wait time, it was increasingly apparent how uncomfortable the space was. There was no AC and the building has no windows to open. The only cooling system was a single fan, and with the many skylights, the restaurant felt like a greenhouse. Literally outside the restaurant was cooler than inside and that’s not an exaggeration. The food itself was alright. I ordered the harissa benedict and the only qualm I have with it was that the eggs were almost hard boiled and not runny at all. There was a lot of chorizo on it and the mushrooms were great, however I don’t think I’d pay £14 for it again.
Canice H — Google review
A lovely brunch, but nothing special. We ordered the granola bowl, some toast and some bakes to take home. The sourdough was lovely (although the jam alongside is just a jar, not homemade), and the bowls were okay, albeit quite lacking on the fruit. The bakes we took home were really disappointing. The biscoff cruffin had no biscoff 😅 and the chocolate chip cookie was completely tasteless. The setting itself was lovely, a great spot to meet for a coffee.

Been a few times and usually really enjoy, bit of a shame the food wasn't as good today. I had the vegan brunch with an added poached egg which was more water than egg. My partner had the regular brunch, both of our hash browns felt a bit undercooked. But drinks were lovely and we've been before for pastries which were delicious!

Fast food restaurant
Original Patty Men is a restaurant that serves American comfort food-style burgers in Birmingham. The place has a contemporary wood and metal design feel. They are known for their epic burgers, wings, and fries which can now be delivered to your door.
We stopped by this spot recently, and wow—what a treat! I had the Pineapple Express burger with the ODB fries, and my husband went for the Louisiana Slammer, added a beef patty to it (one of the specials) with buffalo fries. Let me just say, the food exceeded our expectations. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavour. The burgers were juicy and perfectly cooked, and the fries were next-level good. But overall, I have to give a special shoutout to the sauce on the Pineapple Express—it totally made my day. I ended up going back up and ordering a side of it just to have more! The whole experience was fantastic and we had an excellent server who explained the Specials for us and made everything feel personalised. We’re already looking forward to going back.

The burger was something special. The patty was properly grilled but still juicy. The hot sauce was mildly spicy (good if you have weak tolerance) and tasted a bit bitter at first but developed a fruity flavor later. The fries had coleslaw on top and tasted as you would expect.

Great find, we were after somewhere to eat before going to a festival. OPM turned out to be a great choice. Good selection of burgers and some other options, a few beers to choose from. You can also get beer from the bar next door too.

Slightly off the beaten track location but well worth the visit. Staff and service was friendly and helpful, the American staff member is probably the most hospitable person in Birmingham! Margaritas are a MUST try 9.9/10 Food was 9.5/10 and we had the beef burger, tofu burger and loaded fries plus slaw. Slaw wasn’t the best we’ve had but everything else was delicious! First tofu burger that was super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not dry!!! Nice selection of soft drinks as well plus a specials board worth looking at (planning to come back for the cauliflower wings) Definitely worth the trek 🤤
Jess — Google review
I consider myself as a regular at OPM but when I visited it at 11.06.2025 around 7pm, I think I won’t be anymore. I sat outside because the weather was quite lovely. Tables were a mess, all dirt and leftovers. Nobody came to take our orders nor clean the table for 15 minutes. When I walked inside, waitress in the bar took my order, said that I should pay in advance because I’m outside and didn’t even bother to come and clean up. Patty was really dry and chewy and their special crunchy wings were just sloppy. All around terrible.

Friendly and welcoming staff, delicious burgers (and chicken), fries were good too. Thoroughly recommend if you're in the mood for some unhealthy but delicious food.

nice quick service by a lovely girl, seated soon as we walked in, got great table service, the fries were excellent and the spice mix was just right, succullent burger worth every penny, will visit again
Remi D — Google review
I’ve been here before several years ago and definitely remember it being better. That, or because so many independent & chain American smash burger places have opened, that I’m comparing to them. The market is now saturated for this type of food and unfortunately OPM does not cut it. The burgers are dense overcooked patties, and didn’t even seem to be decent quality beef. The menu was small, I think 3 or 4 beef burgers (for a place that’s got patty in the name), other than fries there were only 2 side options and one of them was coleslaw. Mediocre food quality and taste, and a fairly long wait.

Zindiya Streatery & Bar in Moseley, Birmingham offers a modern setting with lively interior details and a menu inspired by Indian street food. The restaurant is known for its quirky afternoon tea experience featuring flavorful treats and the specialty Wala cocktail made from prosecco, vodka, and chai blend.
We visited Zindiya as a large group for a family birthday, and had a wonderful experience. The menu is as vibrant and exciting as the décor, which takes you right back to the colourful, bustling streets of India. We had plenty to choose from, with a great choice of vegetarian options. Something that stood out was the quality of the cocktails, we loved the Indian twist of flavours, lovely, unusual soft drinks too. Service was great, and the friendly owner came over to chat to us too and made sure we were happy with everything. We appreciated the patience of the staff as we stayed after closing time to cut a birthday cake with family, and have more drinks, which was nice not to feel pressured to hurry. We are not familiar with Moseley, but had heard good things about the restaurant, so were keen to travel further to visit - we were really impressed and hope to return soon.

First time at this place. I was impressed. The decor along with the food and plating all came together superbly. Good attention to detail. Amritsari Fish was the star of the show. Absolutely loved our experience at Zindiya in Moseley! The moment we stepped in, it brought back memories of Delhi — the ambiance, the aroma, everything felt so authentic and vibrant. We tried a variety of dishes, from the gunpowder aloo chaat to chole bhature, and each one was a standout in its own right — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. A special shoutout to the samosa filled with gajar halwa for dessert — such a creative and delicious twist that ended our meal on a high note! A big thank you to Shivam and Divyansha, who served us with such warmth and humility. Their friendly nature and attentive service truly made our visit memorable. I visited Zindiya for dinner as I was in Birmingham for one night and they are a top 5 Indian restaurant on Time Out. I was warmly welcomed and Lavlesh gave fantastic service helping me navigate the menu and just being all round lovely. The food was amazing; full of flavour and a brilliant selection of street food. They also had a fantastic selection of drinks with craft beer on tap. The place itself has a cool atmosphere. It was quiet when I visited but it was a Sunday night. I suspect if you come on a Friday or Saturday night it will be very lively. Whilst I ate there was a very steady flow of take out orders which says a lot. All in all a fantastic restaurant. Popped in for a quick bite as we were staying at the Holiday Inn for a night and this restaurant was a brief 5 minutes walk away. We booked for 5pm and there were 3 of us. Two of us had pizzas and one had nachos. We shared garlic bread a portion of tater tots. Service was swift and server was friendly, we were seated at a long table with benches, only downside was the noise from the tables either side, totally just a me issue though. Food was really good, fresh, hot and huge portions. Cost was reasonable £14 for the pizzas and £12 for nachos. All in all I would recommend a visit.

The pizza is tasty, thin and crispy if that's your vibe, and there's a good range of toppings options. The service was a bit chaotic as it was very busy in there! Because you have to order via QR code the food arrives at different times, and because you've paid in advance there's no time to sit and relax after you've finished your meal. Sadly I didn't get the dip I ordered, and wasn't able to ask a waiter about this because they were so rushed off their feet! A shame because if this meal was a little slower and quieter, and if there was a bit more human interaction, I'm sure I would have loved it!

Visited DDC at the waterfront on Friday evening. Lots to choose from and a good atmosphere. We decided on: Deathrow sandwich 1 beef sandwich 1 spicy chicken sandwich Both with fries. Yardbirds Yardbird burger with fries Disco fries Tikka Turner fries Flat donut Cinnamon dusted We also had a few beers at Booze. All the food was great but loses a star as I do think its overpriced for what you get. That wouldn't stop me returning to future events though as I do like the variety of vendors and overall atmosphere of DDC.

Fantastic street food setup! A great way to discover new cuisines and try different street food establishments. I love that it promotes a variety of cuisines and always gets such a great turnout. Definitely the best place to go for street food in the Midlands. I attended the one held at Coventry cathedral ruins, which had a great array of vendors, a DJ and a lovely cathedral back drop. Had some amazing street food from Cleopatra's Kitchen Solihull (best middle Eastern food I've eaten) and beef on the block (beautifully cooked tender melt in the mouth steak).

DDC at Warwick Castle, 12th September 2025. First time attending. Ok-ish selection of food vendors and went there with an appetite and an equal high expectation. However, what realy, really let it down was simply not enough places to sit. That, I feel is a cynical way for the organisers to 'keep people moving'. The seating that was available and unoccupied had been ruthlessly colonised in the same way people put towels on deck chairs. I don't mind paying a lot of money for good, plentiful, tasty food - of which I am sure there was available last night - but faced with paying £14 for a Biryani and having to stand up and eat it...........nah, sorry. Not happening. So, I finished the single £6.50 pint of lager I purchased and went back into town to sit down and eat there. Won't be attending this one again. Total outlay including admission = £14.50. Total time on site = 37 mins. Waste of money really.

Had a fantastic afternoon here. My toddler merrily dances away to the music, the atmosphere was incredible. We ate nearly everywhere between us and shared it all, this was our list of vendors in favourite order: 1. Urban Cheesecake - terrys chocolate orange with brownie bits. Quite literally out of this world. 2. Only Jerkin - jerk chicken and fries 3. Jade Rabbit - chicken in a cone (just wow) 4. Disco Fries - pizza one is really good 5. Whatever the pizza one was there. 6. Patty Freakz - unfortunately did disappoint the patty was burnt.

Every time I come to have lunch or dinner with my daughter or alone, I always find that the seating area clean. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and staffs show promptness in taking orders and serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and addressing customer needs and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.

This is definitely now one of my favourite restaurants. The pizza made with their wood over has such a unique taste that it just takes over my taste buds. Their menu is specialised and although it doesn't have 10 000 things, the items they have there, they get the absolutely correct every time. Their music selection is great and gives the restaurant such a pleasant atmosphere. There is so much sitting space. Special mention to Mahmoud and one of the young black ladies who wears glasses that served me, forgot to ask for her name. Such a positive atmosphere. I will be back countless times

Restaurant
At Peach Garden in Birmingham's Chinatown, you'll find a dish unique to the city: the triple roast. Served over white rice with greens, this hefty portion features pork belly, char sui pork and duck. The food is superb and the atmosphere transports you to the likes of Hong Kong.
Got the Special Curry with rice, Large portion of the Four Meats and a side of egg fried rice and salt and pepper chips. The Special curry was easily the best ive ever eaten, The four meats yet again were top tier and despite the angry reviews about people saying it's served cold, that's how it is meant to be served and that's how it is best eaten. If it had been heated up it wouldn't have been as nice as it was so just accept that fact and stop complaining. Salt and Pepper chips were fresh and tasted perfect, aswell as the rice. Top notch👏

After more than ten years of regularly lunching and dining at this restaurant — over at least 150 visits by my count — I am disheartened to say that tonight’s dinner was the worst experience I’ve ever had here. I used to be a loyal and satisfied customer, with even my most recent visit last weekend being decent. But what I encountered today was simply unacceptable. The roasted pork was visibly burnt and had a harsh, bitter flavour that overpowered the dish. The stir-fried chives with egg barely contained any chives at all — what few there were had been overcooked beyond recognition, and onions were used as a poor substitute. The dish bore little resemblance to the appealing photo on the menu. To make matters worse, the Chinese tea was stale and unpleasant, with a musty, almost spoiled flavour. The accompanying vegetables were fibrous, yellowed, and extremely difficult to chew or swallow. The only redeeming item was the fried rice, which was just passable. I genuinely hope this was an isolated incident, but unless there is an honest explanation or some acknowledgment of what went wrong, I no longer feel inclined to return. The experience was not only disappointing — it was physically distressing. I had to leave the restaurant before finishing the meal due to an upset stomach, which is something I’ve never experienced here before. For a place I once trusted and frequently recommended, this has been a very unfortunate and upsetting decline.

Came here with four colleagues and we all ordered the four-meat dish with egg fried rice. The service was impressively quick, and it was great to see all the food freshly prepared and cut right in the open kitchen—you can watch everything being made. The food was delicious and generously portioned, especially considering the amount of meat you get. Great value for money!

Rough service, food decent. We ordered several dishes to try: *2 roast with rice *pork hock with rice *lou mei with rice *chives with pigs blood *soup of the day *fried beef ho fun My favorite was chives with pigs blood. It was a nice and tasteful dish. The lou mei was braised nicely, I can deffo taste the lou mei flavour! Soup of the day was nice as well and reminds me of mums soup ☺️. It had dried mushroom and pork ribs. The ho fun was a bit too oily for me. But flavour was good. On the other hand.. the waitresses talks loud, listens to our convos and attention span of a fish. How can one take our order then proceeds to bring us food that we didnt order 🤣. We also didnt want certain duck parts in our lou mei dish. Which she didn't tell the meat chopper until last minute. Meat chopper got annoyed and very loud 💀. I also felt a bit uncomfortable when I hear them repeating what we were talking about. But you get what you paid for. Next time just heads down and eat.
Alison M — Google review
It doesn’t look like much from the front and inside is the same, but what does draw your attention is the traditional roasted meat hanging in the window. I went for the salt and pepper kings prawns with rice and a side of curry sauce. The prawns were freshly cooked and a generous portion. I’m glad I went for curry sauce as it would be a bit dry for my liking otherwise. The 3 or 4 meat roast from Peach Garden is a popular choice and loved by many who say it’s very authentic. If you fancy trying this be aware that the meat isn’t served hot and you will have bones. We also ordered tofu in black bean sauce. It was the soft, sort of eggy like tofu. The stir fried veg was nice and crunchy. It would have benefitted for a little more sauce to go with the good serving of rice you get. Service was efficient and food is served super quickly. You can also order to take away.
Stace S — Google review
I sometimes come here to buy duck to take away, and sometimes we stay to eat at the restaurant because our child really loves the duck here, even though it takes me two hours by train to get here. In the past, the sauce was always served separately, but this time the duck was brought out on two plates with the sauce already poured on. Since our child cannot eat the sauce, I politely asked the man if he could change one plate for us without sauce (especially as they didn’t ask me beforehand about putting the sauce on). However, the man spoke in Vietnamese with unpleasant words and a rude attitude, making it seem as though it was my fault for not saying something earlier. I was only making a simple request, but his manner was very unfriendly. I also don’t know how he translated this to the younger man, but instead of having an enjoyable meal that our family had been looking forward to, we ended up feeling uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the food because of his attitude.

Surely not the best cantonese style cuisines, but truly good enough to worth the quids. Consider trying the succulent roasted duck. Dont forget to bag up the sauce for your home meal next day.

Grand Central Kitchen is a small, cozy restaurant located on Stephenson Street, opposite Grand Central Station. It's known for serving classic English breakfast dishes such as full English breakfast with bacon, sausages, omelette, tomato, mushroom, baked beans and toast. In addition to their breakfast menu, they also offer a variety of sandwiches, wraps and pizzas. Despite its small size, the venue has gained an excellent reputation for its mouth-watering breakfast options and warm atmosphere.
This is a great spot for classic cafe breakfasts. We had the Full English and the house omelette and both were super tasty. The restaurant itself is simple, the tables are quite close together but it runs like clockwork! Staff are super friendly and made us feel so welcome. Portions are generous, food is delicious and turnover is fast. A great experience!

Want great tasting food, no fuss and brilliant service… then this second to none cafe is unmissable!! It would be a mistake to stay in your hotel and not venture out to this flavoursome location!! The service is rapid! Food is served hot!! But the coffee… wow!! The regular flat white is a full cup of coffee… and better tasting than your chain coffee houses!!
Charlie M — Google review
I'd give 6 stars if possible. I was seated quickly, served without fuss, my food exceeded expectations and was reasonably priced. Great coffee as well. There's no reason to go to a chain breakfast place in Birmingham over this place, in my opinion. Support independents!

Really enjoyed this cosy little cafe. Right behind the station which is so handy and convenient. It was also conveniently located beside the metro station. There was a queue on the Saturday morning, so beware but the queue moves quickly. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and are more particularly friendly to wheelchair users. Would highly recommend this cafe for the staff alone!

Straight after getting off the train at Birmingham New Street yesterday, I popped into Grand Central Kitchen for some breakfast. Gotta say, I’d never had eggs and cheese like that before – absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly too. Special shout-out to the Iranian girl who was lovely, and the bloke (can’t remember his name!) who recommended some spots for me to check out in Digbeth. Loads of cool places to explore, so thank you both for the tips! To be honest, I was a bit knackered when I came in and probably could’ve done with a nap right there and then. If I hadn’t been so tired, I’d have been even more buzzing about it all, haha. Anyway, cracking little spot – I’ll definitely swing by again next time I’m in Birmingham. Matee, I'm minging. Bloody love yaouw' 🤣

Grand Central Kitchen in Birmingham was a bit of a mixed bag, landing squarely at a 3 out of 5 experience for us. It’s a fantastic location, right in the heart of the city with all the buzz of the station, making it a perfect spot for a pre-train coffee or a casual bite. The interior has a great, modern vibe that feels both stylish and welcoming. We were really impressed with the coffee, which was absolutely top-notch—rich, flavourful, and clearly made with care and quality beans. It’s the kind of drink that would easily draw you back on its own merit. The food menu is appealing and our choices were tasty and well-presented when they finally arrived. However, the service was unfortunately where things stumbled. While the staff were perfectly pleasant and apologetic, the wait for both our order to be taken and for our coffee to arrive was significantly longer than it should have been. The restaurant wasn’t at full capacity, which made the delays all the more noticeable. It didn’t ruin our visit, but it did take the shine off what should have been a quick and efficient stop. Ultimately, Grand Central Kitchen has a lot of potential. The core product is excellent, but they need to find a way to streamline their operational flow. We’d pop in again for that excellent coffee, but only if we weren’t in a particular hurry.

Grill
Nestled in the vibrant Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, Hen & Chickens is a cozy gastro pub that invites you to indulge in authentic Indian cuisine. This establishment, brought to life by brothers Sunny and Sonu, has quickly become a beloved spot for those craving traditional dishes. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering options, from creamy butter chicken to flavorful tharka dhal. One highlight is their sizzling mixed grill featuring spiced minced seekh kebabs and juicy chicken wings that are simply irresistible.
Been to this pub a few times over the years for a mixed grill and never been disappointed with the food. It's a little on the pricey side because of the location, but always serves up a decent mixi. Beer selection is great too. Lady behind the bar this time was very helpful and recommended a beer I'd not tried before. Gave me a sample and she was right, it was lovely so I had that as my second pint. Fantastic service.

Excellent desi pub within walking distance of Birmingham New St. We were passing through and had a couple of hours so went to the Hen and Chickens and really pleased we did - provides the great combination of real ale, curry and football on Sky! Food and service excellent, definitely recommend the mixed grill (small more than enough for 2 people). Will visit again when in Birmingham.

1st time visit after a long time and no regrets. Friendly and helpful service, the pub/restaurant was clean and very well presented. Food tasted fresh and of good quality, will definitely be coming back to try and update accordingly.

The Hen & Chickens is a popular established tradition pub with a modern twist. It has a very well deserved popular reputation of serving a good selection of quality India food. The venue and atmosphere is very pleasant. Located very close to the city centre the prices are higher than simular tyres of venue outside the area. IMO definitely a must visit if you are in Birmingham City. Enjoy 😊

The food here was incredible and the atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommend the mixed grill signature dish but everything else that we got was also amazing. Unfortunately have to remove one star as a member of our party was forced to pay for a Guinness that he ordered by accident despite us being a party of 20. DOV: 13/01/2025

Rudy’s is an absolute gem! The staff were warm, friendly, and made us feel instantly welcome. The cheesy garlic bread was heavenly, the salsiccia pizza packed with flavor, and the rocket salad fresh and zesty. Honestly, the pizza here is better than what I’ve had in Rome—light, perfectly cooked, and full of authentic flavour. Can’t recommend it enough!

Simple decor might put some people off but don't be fooled, the food more than makes up for it. And kudos to Hamza for the excellent table service. Highly recommended and would happily visit again.

My Pizza was authentic, delicious, and full of flavor. The crust was perfectly crisp, the sauce was rich, and the cheese was fresh and gooey. A tasty and satisfying experience! However when it comes to the staff i barely got a smile from any of them it doesn’t look that they really enjoy their job but overall i enjoyed my meal.

Rudy's Pizza Napoletana Birmingham-A proper Italian Job. We visited Rudy's Pizza for a quick bite during a recent visit to Birmingham City Centre. It was extremely busy and we did need to wait for a table. But it was worth the wait. The service was good, and the Nduja Ortolana pizza arrived pretty quickly. Fresh and tasty pizza in an interestingly designed restaurant. Definitely has a genuine Italian taste. We will be back for more for sure.

First time here. Food amazing got to sit right where the pizzas are made brilliant. Bit slow with drinks could improve on that. But can honestly say one of the best pizza's I've had...better than the usual takeaway....FYI they do takeaway here so we'll worth it. Delicious food and great service. The best Tom Yum soup I've ever had, at a portion size so big I couldn't finish it! Perfect amount of chilli oil. Tender chicken and a great amount of veggies on top. Could taste how the spinach had been wilted separately with some garlic before being added to the top of the soup. It added such a lovely depth of flavour. Tasty dairy free shakes too!

Myself and my family have been coming here for years since they had the large restaurant by the markets. The food has always been of a high standard. They have fresh and tasty dishes. My favourite being the squid fried rice and my daughter absolutely loves their Oreo milkshakes!

Although the dishes in the restaurant are Vietnamese, they are all similar to fusion dishes in terms of price and taste. If you are looking for the taste of traditional moonlight, I think this may not be suitable for you, but aside from this, the overall taste is good, but the price-performance ratio is not compromised.

We had booked dinner and arrived for pre dinner cocktails. We were early on a Saturday evening so it was a little quiet but it is a great place to relax and enjoy a pre dinner drink. We ordered oysters and then monkfish and skate followed by panna cotta and sticky toffee pudding. The food is great at a good price and we throughly enjoyed it. The service was polite, friendly and prompt. We had a great time so thanks to the team !

💎 Our recommendations: * Beetroot Salad * Whole Dover Sole (on the bone) Here’s what we ordered: 🍽 Beef Tartare / Beetroot Salad This classic dish was served with toast on the side. It was decent, but the Beetroot Salad stole the spotlight! The salad came with whipped yogurt and a sprinkle of breadcrumbs. The white beetroots, naturally sweeter, added an unexpected and delightful twist to the dish—absolutely delicious! 🍽 Whole Dover Sole (on the bone) Our main course was visually stunning, served with loads of capers and brown shrimp. Despite the generous amount of brown butter, the capers perfectly balanced the flavours, so it didn’t feel too heavy. 🍽 Lamb Rump I ordered the lamb rump cooked to medium, but unfortunately, it arrived fully cooked. 😔 Since I hate wasting food, I decided to enjoy it as it was rather than requesting a replacement.

Wow wow wow. What an amazing gem right in the heart of Birmingham. Do not miss the smoked row, the hand dived scallops, and the English oysters. All absolutely divine. This experience is not worthy for £144 two girls Food is great but the waiting time is too long. We ordered at 7:45, raw oysters came around 8 but main dishes came at 9:08. The waiter forgot my friend’s steak sauce.

First time with yourselves and I have to say it was really disappointing. The bill £353 just didn’t feel like a meal worthy of it. The one girl serving was brilliant but a long delay for food , atmosphere was dreadful and to be told long delays because a rowdy group came in and order 60 oysters. First and last time , wouldn’t recommend at all sadly.

Food is exquisite. A bit on the steeper price point but worth every single penny. You get quality ingredients - super fresh seafood, creamy oysters, food cooked and seasoned beautifully. Its quite the experience! I had one of the best Sunday roast here as well. Might I add that you can find some really wonderful desserts - everything leaves me wanting for more. Already been here twice, would highly recommend it. Service crew is really lovely. No complaints!

Food was good, but service not the best. We didn’t feel that they were happy to see us, they didn’t smile at us, and the waiter’s face was sad. Also waiter didn’t know the difference between three types of caviar, which is very strange. It was my birthday and I left note during booking so I was expecting to see «happy birthday inscription on the plate», but nothing happened. Would I recommend this place to anyone? I am not sure.

Land Restaurant, located in Birmingham's Great Western Arcade, offers a sophisticated dining experience with a focus on international plant-based cuisine using seasonal ingredients. The restaurant boasts a stylish interior with hardwood floors and lush green walls, creating an elegant atmosphere for diners to enjoy their meal. Featured in the Michelin guide, Land takes pride in its commitment to sustainability and seasonality, offering dishes like soy and furikake aubergine and hispi cabbage with satay sauce.
I visited here for a belated birthday treat by my godmother. This upmarket vegan restaurant really was a delight. The restaurant opened at 6 pm but we were able to be seated early, which was a nice respite from the rain. The staff collected and hung our coats, which gave us more space to breathe. There were only a handful of tables, but it didn't feel claustrophobic. As each course was served, the waiter explained the dishes. We opted for the 6 course menu and ordered a glass of wine off the menu. Unlike other fine dining vegan restaurants I've visited, each dish wasn't accompanied by a drink but that may have been on the larger menu. My godmother (who isn't vegan) and I really enjoyed our food from start to finish. As I have a sweet tooth, my favourite dish was dessert. My photos do not do the food justice. A big thank you to all of the staff 😊

Visited Land yesterday for a six course taster menu and I was not disappointed. Staff were extremely attentive and could not do enough for you.The menu seemed very simple at first glance with a brief description of the key ingredients, which added to the excitement of what it would look like and taste like. Each course was beautifully presented and the staff would explain exactly what you were eating. Speed of service was excellent too, maybe ten minutes between courses. There was also an excellent choice of drinks on offer, soft drinks, cocktails and wine. If anyone ever thought vegan food was boring then just visit Land and see how wonderful plant based food can be. I have been vegetarian/vegan for forty plus years and I have never experienced anything like this. A perfect afternoon of great Company with a wonderful friend and amazing food. We particularly enjoyed the artichoke starter, the beetroot course and the squash course and I must mention the gorgeous warm sourdough bread with herb butter. This was food I will never forget and we can not wait to visit again. Thank you for a delightful experience 30/08/2025 Visited Land again today, another amazing experience. Food and service was exceptional, hoping to go back as a Christmas treat. Thanks again

We had three dishes served to us first, they were all an exploration of flavours and textures: The dashi, ponzu and Radish was Punchy, sharp and crisp The charcoal, squash and yoghurt was Bold with a mild centre The mushroom, barley and walnut was Crunchy, earthy and crunchy in texture with a pleasantly earthy aftertaste The milk bread with cultured butter was the next dish served to us, the bread was warm, seedy and inviting with a soft, pillow-y texture and the cultured butter was cool with a slightly tangy undertone which brought out the flavours in the bread The main dishes and drinks were then brought out in this order: Dish #1 and drink #1: The tofu, turnip and shimeji dish was compromising of chewy mushroom, delicate and subtle turnipthat elevated the textures of the melt in your mouth tofu with a crispy but light exterior which which was topped with an earthy sharp, smoky and pleasantly bitter Kimchi dashi broth Paired with a drink with a citrus-y aromatics that was sharp and zesty in flavour. Drink #2: We were then served an alcohol free apricot liqueur that was mellow, lightly sweet and slightly floral in taste. Dish #2: The sweetcorn, chili and black sesame dish was creamy, crunchy and garlicky with a mild but flavourful chilli punch and a delicate and easy to palete base that made the whole dish warm and comforting to digest Drink #3: It was an in-house drink made from their own spices with a spicy aromatic that makes the tumeric the star that gives a gentle tingling sensation to your throat, making you feel like you have cleansed your tastebuds. It also provides a gentling of the gut, making it easier to digest more. Dish #3: The squash, Thai green curry, shallot and tamarind dish was the third served and the squash was sweet and extremely tender -- the thai green curry was smooth and had a spicy kick, the tamarind was spiced and fruity and the rice cracker was light and salty when combined they all harmonise flawlessly to create a flavourful and well balanced dish. Drink #4: The green stuff drink was served to us made from a variety of different greens. It had a natural yet perfume like aroma but a mellow yet bitter taste to it. Dish #4: The tomato, tapioca and wild garlic dish consisted of a tomato that had a fresh and natural flavour to it with a gentle and floral undertone from the wildflowers that was amplified by the strong yet slightly chewy garlic and the acidic base to dish. Drink #5: The fifth drink had a bold and full bodied aroma. With a rich, slightly bitter and smoky taste to it. Dish #5: Our fifth dish was the watermelon, rice and furikake dish: The watermelon was firm, smoky and charred with a dark, rich sauce and a creamy yet light and crunchy rice it was complimented with a salty and savoury furikake topping. The main dishes and drinks were followed up by a sweeter selection, served as follows: Drink #6: The cherry truffle drink had a sweet cherry and vanilla aroma it tasted mild and fruity, it was easy to drink and smooth. Dish #6: The cherry and chocolate dish was made up of a mousse that was mild, fluffy and airy it made a lovely base for the tart cherry sauce and the chocolate underneath it was crunchy, mellow and sweet. Drink #7: The peaches drink had a delicate and subtle flavour that really leads way to the carbonation of the drinks themselves. Dish #7: The pear, amazake, elderflower and ginger dish had an ice cream made a wonderfully mellow base for the crunchy ginger pieces and the wafers sat atop the ice cream melted into your mouth to merge with the dish as a whole. The berries in the sauce added a welcoming tang to the whole dish as it was smooth but crunchy. We were served petit fours also in 3 different flavour varieties; a soft to touch bitter jasmin and mandarin jelly, a crunchy, spicy and cocoa rich gochujang and sea salt brownie and a high quality matcha and blackberry chocolate which had an amazing snap and earthy strong matcha paired with tart and refreshing blackberry. Overall, I'd say land is a multi sensory meal - it's a must visit at least once in your life!

Truly an experience. Excellent dishes full of character. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. It unquestionably deserves its place in the Michelin Guide. Don’t miss it.

A wonderful sensory experience. Wonderful service and delightful pairings. I would say a few tasters felt slightly repetitive with similar fennel tastes and would have loved something with mushrooms. Also the wine pairings seemed very small amounts for the cost of an extra £50 pp, I’d say half a wine glass would have been great. I’d definitely go again however I’d like for there to be a real difference with every dish.

I bought my mum here for her birthday, along with my sister and husband. We absolutely loved everything about the food. It was beautiful and SO flavourful. We had the 7 course tasting menu (and there was also 3 amuse bouche, a bread and 3 petit fours) and we were left full but not uncomfortably so, and definitely not hungry. The staff are very knowledgeable about the processes that go into the food and drink. They gave my mum a wee birthday card which was lovely. My husband and I recently ate at Gauthier Soho and we enjoyed the food at the atmosphere at Land much more. Highly recommend to vegans and omnis alike!

Outstandingly inventive vegetarian fare with influences from different corners of world cuisine, especially with a 3-course weekday menu that's an absolute steal. The drinks are so well done too, and really warm service with some lovely recommendations!

Thai restaurant
Sabai Sabai is a renowned Thai restaurant with multiple locations in the Midlands, including Moseley, Harborne, and Birmingham city center. The menu features traditional dishes like Geng Massaman and special creations such as the Sabai Sabai Hot Platter. Established by a husband and wife team in 2003, this family-run restaurant has gained popularity for its contemporary decor and authentic cuisine. Additionally, they offer a 15% discount on takeaways.
Popped in on lunch to try the lunch set menu, I would highly recommend the spring rolls and chicken pad thai. The chicken and duck are halal, so plenty of options available and worth the price for a quick but filling lunch!
Alanna R — Google review
I was in Birmingham for a few days last week and went to Sabai Sabai twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. I’d highly recommend going for dinner as the menu is more expansive. Definitely book in advance for dinner. The service was efficient and friendly. The seating comfortable. It does get loud, depending on the number of diners. For dinner, I had tempura king prawns followed by salmon curry with Jasmin rice. All dishes were delicious. The prawns were my favourite. As for lunch, I had crispy duck bao buns followed by pad Thai with prawns. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Sabai Sabai and I’ll be going again when I’m back in Birmingham.

A solid four star meal. Not authentic or exciting but not a disappointment either. Understand that the dishes have been catered to the local taste buds but surely we can get the right vegetables for the right cuisine in this day and age. Mangetout and baby corn should not be near a Thai dish. The duck roll and papaya salad was the best of the bunch. The service was pleasant and the atmosphere buzzing. Overall we had a good time.
Pranav S — Google review
I only recently started exploring Thai food and I’ve completely fallen in love with it. It’s flavourful, hearty and just so yummy. I also love that you don’t need to eat a lot to feel full and satisfied. I decided to visit Sabai Sabai because it’s Thai, so why not? Though I did feel a little like I was cheating on my other favourite Thai spot 🙃 We got there just as the doors were opening and were welcomed with the warmest smile. The restaurant was clean and you could actually smell the bleach and cleaning products coming from the toilet. It might sound odd, but I was really pleased by that. The ambience is chic and cozy. The space is a bit small and the tables are fairly close together, but it still felt comfortable. Here’s what we ordered: 🥘 Green curry with shrimp and sticky rice 🍽️ Sea bass with garlic fried rice ☕ Latte 🍹 Singapore Sling I enjoyed every bite and I’m already looking forward to going back to try more from the menu. Thai food has won me over completely!

First time visiting the Solihull branch for lunch and it was stunning! The decor was beautiful. Very clean and great staff. Service was excellent. The food was great standard full of flavour. We ordered the set menu for 2 which included great starters including sweetcorn fritters, money bags and chicken skewers. Everything was delicious. For our mains we had a few options - pad Thai, chicken Thai curry and garlic and pepper prawns which came with unlimited jasmine rice. All items had amazing flavour. Really good for the price! We’ll deffo be going back.

It was the best Thai I’ve ever had in my life. I tried quite many Thai food as it’s one of my favorite cuisine but it’s actually quite hard to find the right Pad Thai. Noodle was just cooked right and sauce was just perfect. Also the rest dishes are cooked properly as well. Chicken and squid were as juicy as it was just cooked. Even batter was delicious. We loved papaya salad as well. Every dish was absolutely amazing and phenomenal. I never expected to have the best Thai in Birmingham and if I have to visit Birmingham again, there’s no doubt this place will be the first one to go.

Run by Larisa Konstantinidou and Akim Litim, this lovely deli also offers a variety of Greek products including pasta, olives, oil and alcohol.
I enjoyed a lovely chicken gyros pita from All Greek on Stephenson Street. The pita was freshly made while I waited, with fresh salad and a sauce of my choice. It was absolutely delicious and a wonderful reminder of eating gyros pita during my holidays in Greece. I will definitely return on my next visit to Birmingham.

Very tasty lunch location. You did used to get chips in the gyros but this time round they weren't included. Still a good size portion. Use independent Birmingham card for discount

Chips and cheese were amazing did have to pay extra but was with it! The halloumi wrap was also lovely a little too much lettuce but I mean you just take some out!! But other than that it was so lovely and would definitely have again! This was take out so the packaging was well secured too and kept the food warm! (Have not been in so no idea what it looks like as a place to eat in person)

Stopped in for lunch to give it a try since the food looked very nice. I went for the cheesy Greek, the one with halloumi, it was fantastic, full of fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, great bread. Quite filling. Not sure what the sauce was but it was very tasty. Eat in with a can of drink for around a £10. Highly recommend, I'll be back.

This independent bakery and café has redefined the concept of lunch on-the-go, thanks to its commitment to quality ingredients and artisanal baking. The team behind it, known for their work with the Soul Food Project, decided to take matters into their own hands by crafting fresh bread that meets their high standards.
Only bought takeaway.sandwich but v impressed by service. Sizeable sandwich with plenty of filling - chicken harissa with mint. Offered to cut in half & then rewrapped both halves - sufficient for 2 moderate eaters. £5.50 but actually good value for the quality/quantity. Will visit again.

I visited here recently. The ambience was relaxed with interesting surroundings. The staff were helpful. The cappuccino tasted good but wasn't hot enough. The croissant had been over baked; however, they are usually excellent, so hopefully this was just a blip.
Ann F — Google review
Excellent bread and a nice choice of bakery goods. I liked the salad and sandwich options for lunch. There's a cosy basement eat in area. I was less keen on making my own tea (from the provided tea bags) given the price. Price are generally high, but the quality is good.
Erica H — Google review
Fantastic bakers with a focus on sandwiches and breakfast pastries. Delightful downstairs eating area. The only reason for 4 rather than five is the cost - worth it in my mind for a quality independent, but perhaps prohibitive for some.

Best lunch spot in Brum. The wrap was absolutely delicious! Got the £10 lunch deal with a drink for reference!

Quite pricey and the chicken and halloumi wrap didn't really have enough salad in it. It also lacked flavor really, could have done with more sauce... The chilli sauce didn't really work well with it but my friend enjoyed the chipotle sauce. The falafel were very disappointing, small and excessively crunchy, barely any filling for some of them.

Great little shop. My order of Pita meal with chicken + fries and a drink was ready in about 15-20min. Slightly more costly than in other places, however, absolutely worth it. Ordered a takeaway but the Lamb wrap was missing. Fries and Halloumi were freezing cold, which could be down to the Uber Eats driver but no excuses for the missing wrap, which cost nearly £15. No answer when trying to contact the shop and a pathetic £2.72 refund from Uber Eats.

Great service amazing food. Justina served us and she was amazing along with what I believe to be the owner. I would recommend trying the plumb wine warm, buy a bottle and will serve four people. Excellent service. Accessible toilets available. Step free access to enter

Took my daughter here as she loves all things Japanese. She really wanted to try their bao buns and me the Gyozas.. we were not disappointed. My daughter had the chicken option, and I had the vegetable option. We also ordered a portion of salmon and avocado sushi that was made fresh for us. All the food was served beautiful, was fresh and so tasty. The staff was super, very informative, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxed and informal. Perfect for a lunchtime drop it. Deco was a mix of fun neon lights and being elegant, with beautiful lanterns. It was our first time, but I can definitely see us returning here for a second visit.

The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavors. The service was just as impressive: the staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. It’s clear that Sharof in particular takes pride in his work. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-quality Japanese food.

We came here for my elder brother’s birthday, without a booking, and were promptly sat. Couldn’t have asked for better service! Everyone really enjoyed their meal. Recommend highly!!

It’s not an oyster bar. It’s not a restaurant. It’s one of many fishmongers in a filthy stinking market full of butchers selling every possible hoove, head and lump of unidentifiable entrails imaginable. Our reservation of shellfish for Christmas was underwhelming and overpriced. The staff could not have been less concerned despite the fact they could easily have told us other vendors just a few feet away could have fulfilled our order. Will never use again.

This is a firm favourite of ours. You know what you’re getting and it’s very consistent. The menu is easy to navigate with something for everyone and the cocktails are ace, especially at happy hour. Personally, I’d like more spice and stronger seasoning for my palate, but regardless, I enjoy my meal every time. The staff a lovely and attentive and we’ve never felt ignored or rushed.

Quite disappointing unfortunately. Sat down with my partner and they took 40 minutes to serve us. I would have no problem with this if they were busy but the staff were standing and talking to each other not serving anyone. When we were finally served we were given watered down drinks that cost 10 pounds each. It took more time after that before our food orders were taken. We gave our food order and then 15 minutes later they came back saying it wasn't available. Yes, it took 15 minutes for them to check if they had what we ordered as they stood around talking. When we gave them an updated order with what they actually had in stock the food they gave us was not at all worth the price they charged. Feathers in the chicken and the rice was undercooked. (see photos). 2 watery drinks, one small plate and one regular plate cost 50 pounds. Save yourself time and money.

Mixed feelings here. My husband and I came here for a lunch date on a Saturday. While we both enjoyed ourselves there were some hiccups that I felt could have gone better. All of the staff we interacted with were very nice however it was obvious they were massively understaffed for how busy it was at the time so the attentiveness wasn't there. When I ordered my meal and a tapas I specified I wanted the vegan version each time but it felt like I wasn't understood and I unfortunately turned out to be right when they took back my Elotes to check with the chef and then made me a new vegan one. Again the staff was nice and corrected it immediately. I had the horchata mocktail and while the flavour was quite good it felt ten times way too sweet. After sipping away at some I added water to it and it made it more suitable for my palette. The spicy rice was gorgeous and actually had some heat to it, which as a Mexican American here in England , I was surprised. The Ancho Mushroom Enchilada was just ok for me. It felt like they had overloaded it with salt and no other prominent flavour. Lastly the vegan Elotes were delicious. The cheese, mayo, and spice were lovely and the Elote was soo juicy!

Had lunch here in the run-in to Christmas, and overall it wasn't great. We were seated at a table with standard menus only, and noticed that was being done with other diners too. Fortunately we were aware there's a lunch deal menu and my wife went to get that instead. From the lunch deals, we ordered ourselves burritos, then ordered a Taco meal as a kind of side to share. Very glad I didn't order that as my main meal as it was tiny. I opted for the Pork pibil because I'm not sure if they keep the meats of the haallal menu and the normal menus separate, and I didn't want to mistakenly eat haallal meat. The food was ok, I expected a lot more flavour, but overall not bad or anything. The mocktails were quite nice, the virgin colada was lovely to be fair. My wife suggested we head to the nearby Christmas market for churros for dessert, but I insisted we stay put. She ended up getting the dessert menu herself and we ordered the Churros to share. They came without ice cream, so we had to ask for that again, which we received an apology for and were then given strawberry instead of vanilla as that was all they had left. It did seem the one guy who looked like he was in charge was trying to keep it together, but generally it was a bit of a shambles from his crew. I did witness another diner receiving even worse service, but that's not really my story to tell.
Dal — Google review
Hard to sum this place up. Service was intially really good but lacked a bit as time went on. Two of the four dishes we ordered weren’t available, alternatives offered which was acceptable. When the food came, one of the four dishes was wrong one, so now we only have one of the originally ordered items. Pointed out the incorrect dish but didn’t get rectified until we had finished our other food. I’d give it another chance based on the tasty food, maybe at a less busy time.

Amazing Ambience I Just Loved The Vibes and The Interior Of The Place. ‘Chris’ Was Very Sweet and Served Us Amazing Cocktails For The Night. Food Was Excellent Nachos Were Too Crispy and Prawn Tacos Were Too Yum With Burst Of Flavours. Overall Experience Was Too Good.

We were in a big group of 20 and they were able to accommodate us without issue, taking the downstairs area just for us which was really nice. The staff were also excellent and were very fast with service. Considering there were so many of us, it was great to see that they had prepared well. The food was mostly good, with some of the portion sizes being larger than I could handle. My picks were the cola wings, chicken mole burrito and the mango strawberry dessert. The cola wings and the mango dessert were my favourites of the night. The only slight downside to the experience was that there was a weird smell to the downstairs. You do adjust to it after a short while, but definitely something to be improved on. But overall a good experience.

I had a great experience in this restaurant. The food was really amazing. Everything tasted perfect and the portions of the food were good as well. Mezze platter was full of different flavors but each one was delicious with great quality. Main dishes were really tasty and nice. Nice taste, nice design and good to try new flavors. Visited Comptoir Libanais yesterday for lunch. It was packed so you definitely should book a table. We shared a mezze of vegan dishes. Falafels which were crispy but light and fluffy inside and perfectly spiced. Hommos silky smooth served with warm flatbread. Batata harra, amazing roast potatoes, crispy, slightly spiced with a kick of chilli. Tabbouleh, so tasty and zesty. Fattoush, a gorgeous salad with mint and crispy pitta bread and finally a garlic and Za'atar flatbread, if you have not tried Za'atar you should, it's a wonderful mix of herbs and it was a taste sensation. We had drinks and it cost around £25 each and we were not hungry when we left. Service was great, very attentive but not pestering. My only critism was there was only one vegan dessert on offer, vanilla ice cream so we did not bother. We would definitely return and highly recommend. Great for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters.

I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the platter for two, priced at £27 plus service charge. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it to be good value for money. For the price, the portion size and overall quality fell short of expectations. While the presentation was fine, the quantity and balance of dishes didn’t feel generous enough to justify the cost, especially once the service charge was added. This might work better as a light sharing option, but as a main meal for two, it left us disappointed. A more substantial offering or fairer pricing would make the experience much more worthwhile. In the picture the platter for two (there were two pitas not captured).

We've been coming here for 7 years and we still love the decor and the food although the portions are quite small and the bill gave us a shock, especially as they added on £8 tip without telling us. We don't feel the food is worth the price.

Chung Ying is a renowned Chinese restaurant located in Birmingham's Chinatown, offering an extensive selection of authentic Cantonese dishes and an impressive variety of dim sum. Established in 1981, it has become a beloved fixture in the area, known for its warm and traditional atmosphere. The restaurant prides itself on being family-run and has garnered numerous awards over the years, including Restaurant of the Year 2019 at the Birmingham Awards.
Had a really nice meal last night at Chung Ying. I have to say, the food was really really impressive. The restaurant itself is nostalgic, its old school dining take took me back to my childhood. The food: my favourite dish was the Wafer Wrapped King Prawns, these were absolutely moreish, the wafer literally melts in the mouth and juicy prawn was incredible. This is my new favourite dish on the menu. The paper wrapped spare ribs were also very good. I'm quite fussy with meat quality and found these to be the best ribs I've had in a while. Our vermicelli Singapore style noodles packed a punch as well. Other members of our group complimented the king prawn green pepper and black bean sizzle plate dish a lot too. The staff were kind and funny and kept the table entertained. I look forward to my next visit to try more of the menu, next time I will be asking the restaurant direct to give me their recommendations!!

Exactly what I hoped for craving some good Chinese food. Lots of vegan & gluten free options. Fast service. Good size portions. So yummy. Friendly funny staff. Would recommend for sure, especially if you’re vegan or gluten free.

Honestly impeccable. The staff was nice and attentive. The food was SO good. They have a very large menu with set menus, vegetarian options and more. The Mango Pudding we had for dessert was a bit too simple but definitely recommend all the rest. We shared a starter, got a main and dessert for around £20 pp.

I recently visited Chung Ying in Birmingham and was pleasantly surprised by how well they cater to vegetarians—especially when it comes to dim sum. As someone who often finds veggie options to be a bit of an afterthought at Chinese restaurants, Chung Ying was a refreshing exception. Their vegetarian dim sum menu is genuinely thoughtful, not just the usual spring rolls and tofu. The standout for me was the vegetable cheung fun—silky rice noodle rolls filled with perfectly seasoned mushrooms and greens, drizzled with a sweet soy sauce that tied everything together beautifully. The vegetarian siu mai and spinach dumplings were also excellent: delicate, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What I appreciated most was that nothing felt like a compromise. Every dish was well-balanced and satisfying, with textures and flavors that made each bite interesting. Even the dipping sauces were spot on, complementing the dishes rather than overpowering them. The setting is classic and bustling, which adds to the charm, and the staff were friendly and helpful when I asked about which dim sum were vegan vs vegetarian. If you're vegetarian and love dim sum—or have felt left out at traditional dim sum spots—Chung Ying is absolutely worth a visit.

I had pork noodles, my wife had crispy pork with rice alongside Wanton Soup. With pepsi as the drink. The drinks were great 500ml in tall glasses. I liked my pork noodles, the portion is massive and it's best in buffet. I had to take it back in a doggy bag. The crispy pork was lovely too. My wife thought the wantons in the soup were not seasoned enough and it did feel.like this. The service was good and felt quick.

For some reason, we haven't been here for a couple of years (probably because there are just so many great places to eat at in Birmingham these days). So, it was lovely to head back to Ching Ying Garden and attempt to eat our bodyweight in Dim Sum. I love that you order what you want on a sheet of paper, then sit back and wait for the dishes to arrive in whatever order the kitchen make them. The Dim Sum was the star of the show, loads of little dumplings still sat in their steaming baskets, alongside the steamed buns. Delicious. I was a bit disappointed in the triple Roast Meats, however, I've definitely had both better and bigger portions in Chinatown. But still perfectly serviceable. Overall, a very enjoyable meal out, we'll try not to leave it another two years before we go back!

A great little restaurant in china town. The service was efficient and prompt and the drinks and food came out in good time. Great tasting hot food. We sat out in the terrace which was like a nicely done up garden verandah with lights and fans. Great all round

Salty Fish & Chicken Rice was delicious & tasted fresh and was well cooked. Service was quick and friendly. Portion sizes were decent and prices reasonable. The only slight negative part was the male toilet, the door lock handle needs fixing. Overall, a nice experience.

Polish restaurant
The Karczma Restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its cottage-style setting and classic Polish cuisine. The name "karczma" translates to inn or tavern in Polish, and the restaurant aims to recreate the rustic ambiance of a Polish country cottage inn. Located just a few minutes' walk from Birmingham's main shopping centers and train stations, this hidden gem has garnered attention for its hearty fare.
Delicious food, beautiful interior design, kind and polite service. Me and my wife visit this place quite regular and we have never been disappointed. Very authentic polish cuisine, wide range of drinks, hot, cold, alcoholic and non. If you are looking for the place to chill and eat well, this is the one we can recommend to you.

Well hidden from the busy streets of the city! This place gives you a warm feel with its cozy decor and prepares you for the great feast that you will soon experience! The duck was slow cooked and extremely juicy! The stew was made to perfection and the chicken liver was from another planet! Great selection of polish beers and vodkas! The staff was polite and attentive! The prices reflect the quality and the quantities are impressive!

Love the ambience, interior decor and the vibes inside the restaurant. Feels like im really in Poland. Food we ordered were all yummy. Waitress was friendly and nice. Ive been to a few Polish restaurants in and out of London and this is on my top list. Would definitely go back if we visit around the area again.

Loved the food and interior of the restaurant. They also have a selection of drinks including Polish vodka. The sharing platter we ordered was enormous which included 2 types of soup, the giant platter along with some veggies and dessert afterwards. 6 of us couldn't finish everything. Highly recommended!

Been here twice sept 2021 & Jan 2023. The first time we visited, we were amazing by the freshness and the taste of the food. The quality of ingredients and the attention to detail with seasoning was faultless. The service was warm and friendly and the restaurant was very busy and clean. Fast forward to Jan 2023, and the prices have understandably gone up but sadly the quality is no longer there, and there has been no change in menu (apart from the price). There are surely more different polish dishes you could add, not even any seasonal specials. The beef roulade was very dry and not cooked fresh. You could tell it had been previously cooked and poorly reheated. The Silesian noodles had a nice texture but lacked any seasoning and the sauce for the beef tasted like brown water, completely flavourless. The pork knuckle was another let down too, flavour and seasoning was lacking in the meat & sides. Service was inattentive, hence why we didn’t make any comment about the decline in food quality, we thought it best to just eat and get the meal over and done with. Well as for the toilets, I understand these may be shared with upstairs, but some kind of quality check wouldn’t go amiss. The restaurant in 2021 was full of Polish natives enjoying themselves with food and drink, yet it now seems to be more of a tourist spot, not a countryman/woman in site.

Amazing food, really nice vibe. I believe if in a Polish restaurant you see many Polish guests, it's a good sign, must be the place to be. I ran in from the cold and had an amazing żurek, followed by a variety of dumplings. They also have a nice selection of drinks. Great staff, good prices, I will definitely be back! Dzięki!!!

Delicious food and lovely atmosphere - we had a great time, many Polish favourites are on the menu. The portions were large , and the food was all delicious and fresh. I can in particular recommend the pan fried trout and the apple pie. Well worth a visit! We have been back after three years and we had another amazing meal!

Visited for the first time in a few years for my birthday and was delighted to find very little has changed. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable service, good quality ingredients, extremely large portions!!! The ham platter was a new addition to the menu since my previous visits. The platter for two is easily large enough as a starter for four people if main courses are being ordered too. The pork knuckle in cabbage (pictured) is every bit as good said remembered. Highly recommend, I won’t leave it so long to visit again.

Topokki in Birmingham brings a touch of Korea to the city, offering traditional dishes like bibimbap, bulgogi, and kimchi fried rice. Conveniently located near the Hippodrome in Chinatown, it's an ideal spot for pre or post-show fuel.
Delicious meal last night for an impromptu valentines dinner. We had the pork dumplings, seafood pancake and the table BBQ with pork belly and chicken. Doing a Korean table BBQ is always fun, the food was yummy but the standout from the meal were the crispy fried pork dumplings - we’ve both woken up today thinking about them 😅 the pancake was nice but not in the same league. Only slight downside is that when you sit on the waiting tables at the side you can’t order a drink to have while you wait. However, luckily for us the wait was sort and service was fine. Have been here a few times once every couple of years - really need to visit more regularly as the food is always top notch fresh and tasty!

Good authentic food, haven’t tried Korean food before. Glad this was the place that introduced me to it. Food is neatly laid out plenty of options, parking round the corner. 10/10

Came here for my sister’s birthday meal and I must say we were all very disappointed. We have noticed how the prices have gone up but portion sizes have gone down compared to when we last came 2 years ago. We paid £6 more this time for the same BBQ set and the amount of meat we were given was so little! Not worth it at all!! Incredibly disappointed and quite sad as we probably won’t return again as there are other restaurants better quality in food and better for price.

Lovely went by myself and enjoyed my time. And the food is always delicious 😋. U had the rapokki and it was just so good.

I came with a friend, in fact I'm still here lol, but the food and drinks here are absolutely gorgeous. Me and my friend had the chicken cutlet dupbap and kimchi jeon. As well as, the grape banbon juice, and white grape makgeolli (which is absolutely perfect for people who want something to drink but don't necessarily like the taste of alcohol much) and a ramune. Would honestly come again, I want to try more of the menu! ☺️

Purecraft Bar & Kitchen, located in Birmingham's financial district on Waterloo Street, is a popular spot offering a wide selection of real ales and over 100 bottled beers. The modern industrial setting is partly thanks to local legends Purity Brewing Co., who are behind the city center's chic atmosphere. Despite its extensive beer menu, it also caters to gin enthusiasts and serves up tasty surprises from their drinks list.
If you love beer, this a must try place for their selection of beers! They also have a selection of finger food that taste extremely good and I tried the espresso martini, which was delicious. Definitely a bar to try if you’re visiting Birmingham. May have to reserve as it gets quite crowded in the nights.
SHAMEENA R — Google review
Popped in for a couple of pints before a social event elsewhere. Friendly service, great beer at a reasonable price for the location. Also very nice and polished looking inside. The lady behind the bar asked if I was planning to get through each beer, and believe me, I'd have loved to! But I just went for the two I was sure I'd like most. They don't pack as much of a punch as other similar beers, but they make up for it with flavour.
Dal — Google review
We had a nice lunch of fish and chips. We stopped by here several times on this trip. The service was excellent. The primary beer options were from Purity Brewing. Toilets were clean.

I’m glad this bar has remained an entry in the Good Beer Guide; they’ve kept their prices down but the quality of the ale remains as good as ever. Make the most of it while you can!

Nice bar, good atmosphere and really lovely staff! Gotta say I was disappointed with the chicken burger - £16 for a pretty tasteless breaded fillet and not a large portion size either. But the other food & drinks in our group were good, great selection of craft beers (including alcohol-free/0%. And like I said, really nice staff. Overall good lunch spot.
Ash M — Google review
The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The food however was overcomplicated. The bacon on the bacon cheeseburger had little to no taste and the sauce ruined any flavour the actual burger had. Great space though for large groups, though the cellar was chilly so might not be so great as it gets colder.

Popped in for a pint on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Friendly service, great space and a decent selection of beers. Would come again!

I am here on a Friday at 13 hours, not noisy, not busy, just the right atmosphere for a quick bite and the chance to chat with your friends and/or family. I ordered the cheese and steak sandwich. It was fine, nothing fancy, nothing extravagant, a very simple sandwich, I'd say. I was surprised by the fact that it seems to have cream instead of mayo, not sure if this is the way they do things here, I'm not from the UK. Service was great. The waiter was fast, friendly, attentive. The food also took a very short time to arrive. Overall, I spent 22£ for a sandwich with fries and a beer, not bad.

The Keg & Grill is a casual neighborhood venue that offers classic pub grub and a variety of drinks at its wooden bar. Formerly known as the Gough Arms, this city center pub has been transformed into a desi destination, serving up a mixed grill featuring chicken wings and lamb shaami kebabs, as well as a veg platter with samosas, spring rolls, bhajis, and tandoori tofu.
Popped in here for a Mixed Grill, and the food, service, and beer were all decent. The food was that good, we surprised ourselves by finishing it all off and not taking any home with us like we normally do. There was that traditional desi pub ambience, but it was surprisingly quiet for a city centre eatery. I was there from before 7pm to after 8pm on a Thursday evening, and in that entire time there were only two other customers in there, who were just having a few drinks. I rang them a few days beforehand and I was assured they use meat which is NOT produced in accordance with any religious faith.

Sampled the veg mixed grill platter and was very impressed. Very tasty indeed. *** Went to sample the food. The Saag was lovely and flavourful and the meat grill platter was also good. All in all, a nice mid week treat. *** Used to be Jungle Bird before it closed permanently and saw that it’s now a new place so got curious and popped in for a drink. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food. People are super friendly though and love seeing a selection of beer on draft that you don’t tend to see elsewhere. A chilled place to hangout and watch a bit of sport. Will 100% come back to try the food.

Fabulous wraps and masala chips - had a peel at the next tables curries -they also looked brilliant, lovely friendly staff. Hopefully this place will get as popular as their old premises - it was a bit lacking in atmosphere due to lack of customers - well worth trying and I’m sure it will soon be a must go to place.

Quite a simple pub, serving excellent Indian food, with good service. The menu is board and each item I had was good in it's own right. They were happy to customise the grill to my taste, and enquired if it was fine. Good job. Its a busy place booking a table would be smart.

The Keg & Grill serves curry within the setting of a traditional English pub set up. The atmosphere here is always great, whether busy or quiet and I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There offer a limited menu but there doesn't need to be a lot of choice because what they do provide is enough regardless of whether you want a snack or a proper meal you are sure to find something to your liking here. Come here if you want to spend an evening chilling with mates at the pub but want the option of good food without having to leave to source it.

A great place, excellent food , one of the best mixed grills I’ve eaten. The staff are very attentive, definitely worth a visit if you like your desi pub food .

Formerly The Gough Arms this is now what is known as a desi pub. Combining the best parts of a British pub and Indian cuisine with the Tandoori mixed grill as it's signature dish. Small but well lit single room with comfy seating. The menu is not as extensive as a normal curry house but still has plenty of variety. Focusing on chicken and lamb dishes ranging from Madras to Korma. There's also a good selection of vegetarian starters and mains. Staff are friendly and approachable. You order at the bar and it's brought to your table. Quick service yet still keeping a high quality in the food. The chicken was excellent, cooked to perfection. Plenty of chicken in the curry, always a good sign. The aroma of the pilau rice was a smell that will have you craving more. Ordered, served and eaten in about an hour. Yet you never feel rushed and time flies by. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Me and my friends attended on a Saturday for a bottomless brunch. I anticipated we may be slightly late so emailed to ask if we could move the brunch forward 30 minutes however no one responded. We managed to arrive at our original time and drink and food orders were taken promptly. The food was nice and the variety of drinks kept everyone happy. Service was prompt. Our brunch was due to finish at 3.30pm so the waitress came over at 3pm and said the brunch is finishing soon so can I get you some more drinks then I'll take your final order after that. Throughout the brunch we had been finishing our drinks in around 5-7 minutes. The waitress arrived at 3.15pm with our last drinks then promptly took payment for the brunch. We still had 15 minutes left of our 90 minutes, which we believed we could have easily had one more order. I have been to most of the bottomless brunches in Birmingham and also other places in the UK and usually the last order is taken at the end of the brunch. When we questioned this, we were advised that our time started from when we started drinking, so my friend stated that we placed our drinks order at 2pm and didn't start drinking til after 2pm if that was the policy and the waitress said "well I took your order at 2pm." The argument we had was that we still had 15 minutes left of our brunch and they were taking our payment trying to get us off the table before the 90 minutes was up. I feel we had a completely valid point and something that I have never come across at any other bottomless and that we asked politely, yet we were met with attitude from the waitress. Everything up until this point was great. My recommendation would be that if you want to go to a bottomless brunch where you are actually given the whole 90 minutes as promised on the t&c's then to attend elsewhere!

Lovely building and you can make your own gin has to be a good thing 😀 we had dinner before watching ELO over and out tour in his home town. Great drinks and cocktails 🍸 dinner was delicious the menu had not been updated from the wab site so no Sunday dinners only ice for dessert!! should be better

We had our engagement party at The Distillery Birmingham, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! From the start, the events manager Chelsea was incredible – she answered every question quickly and clearly, making the whole planning process stress-free. On the day, everything ran so smoothly. The room was emptied promptly when we needed, and being able to decorate beforehand and collect everything the next day made life so much easier. The bar staff were brilliant too – service was fast, drinks were flowing, and they kept the space spotless all night. We also booked the DJ they recommended, Jordan, and he was outstanding! His music choices catered perfectly for such a wide age range, and the dance floor was full from start to finish. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to help us celebrate such a special occasion. Thank you to everyone at The Distillery for making our engagement party unforgettable!

A fantastic space to host private events, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful - even if they did run out of Intuition, I can forgive them for how accommodating they were throughout! Chelsea fielded numerous queries in advance, answering them all with clarity & in good time. We also made great use of the outside space, which was fantastic in the later-afternoon sun. We had numerous compliments from guests about the quality of the food - which was plentiful & managed superbly by the team on the day.

Great bar for a sunny afternoon, plenty of outdoor seats and a great drinks selection. Keeps the sun late in the afternoon and they have a large outdoor screen for sports. Haven’t eaten here so can’t comment on the food but looked like pub style and pizzas

Wrapchic is a delightful culinary gem nestled in Birmingham's Bullring, where the vibrant flavors of Indian and Mexican cuisine come together in an exciting fast-food format. This unique eatery invites you to explore a variety of options, including burritos, wraps, bowls, curry pots, and even Wrapchos. Diners rave about the generous portions and diverse vegetarian choices that ensure there's something for everyone. The friendly staff enhances the experience by offering samples before you make your selection.
Quite simply one of the best places in Birmingham to grab a quick bite. Food has always been delicious and well worth the cost. Staff are very polite and always offer a friendly service. Recommend without hesitation.

Wasted 12£ on reheated scraps that were served lukewarm to us. Putting store-bought salsa on some Indian food doesn't make it Mexican. The tortilla wrap was also probably bought from Tesco and not even warm. The chicken was barely reheated, without flavour and honestly left us both with a "vomity" taste. Did not receive a receipt either from the employee. It's a shame since the manager seems like a lovely person and works hard, so only go in if she is in. Otherwise avoid it at all cost.

I visited the bullring Wrapchic for lunch whilst at work and I definitely wont be coming here again. I ordered a chicken wrap and my husband ordered a lamb wrap and they both tasted off. It might have been the sauce that they used or something. It just left the taste of vomit in our throats. It's a shame because I've visited a different branch before and it was actually quite nice. Probably just a bad batch of sauce.

Had lunch here today and i was very impressed by the service, very friendly, polite and helpful staff. The staff helped us make our minds up about what filling we would like by giving us a few samples to taste. The mutton madrasi in a naan tastes very good as well the chicken rajasthan in a wrap with spinich sauce, mint sauce and cheese. Only negative i would say is that if you wnat extra peppers, onions, cheese etc they charge from 75p upwardsand this can result in a slightly expensive lunch for a family of 4. Overall, worth a try and definitely good tasting food so we will be returning soon.

Yorks Cafe & Coffee Roasters is a trendy urban spot in Birmingham known for its rustic charm and carefully sourced homemade breakfast, hot lunches, and cakes. The cafe features exposed brick walls, industrial pipes, and comfortable stool seating around a large wooden bar. They roast their own coffee beans in-house and offer standout brunch items like poached eggs with cumin butter on toast, lamb kofta breakfast tagine, and Chicago honey fried chicken on a cornbread muffin.
Lovely spot for a hot drink or a quick bite. We visited on Saturday morning for a light breakfast. Their sourdough with a choice of spreads was tasty - we each got to try a combo of spreads with our sourdough (peanut butter & Jam and peanut butter and honey. Items and reasonably priced. We were lucky to get a table quickly and staff were friendly and attentive. It does get very busy here as it is a small establishment.
Harini B — Google review
It's a great new cafe in Stephenson Street, overlooking the council house. The cafe was busy when we walked in, but they did manage to find a table for the two of us. The interior has the current trend of unfinished ceilings, where the air conditioning and electrical ductwork are exposed. We had a friendly & helpful waitress who engaged with us. The meals were lovely and tasty. My only criticism is that my meal wasn't that hot, but it didn't spoil the experience
Malcolm H — Google review
Came for brunch on a Sunday. As a walk-in, our group of 3 only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. This place has a nice atmosphere and we weren’t rushed at all throughout our meal or after. The menu is interesting with interesting spins on some breakfast foods. There was some flexibility with some of the dishes, for example picking the type of egg for the house breakfast. Recommend this place for brunch, especially if you are looking for a place centrally located, near New Street station.

Due to being a frequent travel through Birmingham, i have always been wanting to see what Yorks Cafe was offering (I only wanted something to drink since i had a huge breakfast). I was greeted with a wonderful server who asked if i had any special requests or allergies, before coming around to take my order. The atmosphere was a nice vintage look inside. Personally I do love that style of environment. Moving on, they have a large variety of food and drinks and i tried one of their special lattes which had turmeric, cinnamon and ginger. The taste was unique and i had nothing like it before. It definitely refreshed my pallet. Overall, i am very pleased with the coffee and the staff and will definitely have to revisit within the near future. Thank you so much for your service.

I was in Birmingham for a City break with a friend and we discover York’s on google when we arrived at the Train station. Last Sunday we were starving after our journey coming from London so we decided to have a brunch. The cafe was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long to get a table, we ordered a Yorks House Breakfast which was so delicious, Fried chicken & French Toast with a beautiful sauce on the side and the Masala fries which were very tasty. Staff was really lovely and friendly. Also great coffee selection and perfect atmosphere for a Café. We went back again for more coffee and Avocado smashed and Feta cheeses on Toast, so yummy! Probably one of my favourite cafes ever!
Vito M — Google review
Great venue, but get there early to avoid queues. Service was good, and I like that they take payment when you order so you can just get up and go when done. Food was good, but would not say as amazing as it looked, but that could just be my taste. The presentation was fantastic how ever! The only reason to drop one star was the coffee was not hot enough, again just my taste, but I could have finished it before my food arrived, ask for it extra hot. Well worth a visit.
Alyn A — Google review
Great food! Coffee was a bit cold to my liking - lesson for next time to ask for extra hot 😊 we ordered Turkish eggs & Arabian eggs, the dishes were flawless and the Greek yogurt was very well seasoned . Poached eggs were perfect as well as the bread was amazingly soft. Decor was quite rustic, could be improved especially with just one toilet. Although a good place in the city centre.

Popped in for brunch, after getting off the train at New Street Station. Great atmosphere of people working and just meeting up. A wide range of ages in there which I think says a lot about the quality of a place. That everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, whether young or more mature. The food was very good and the staff were welcoming and friendly .

Japanese restaurant
Sushi restaurant
YO! Birmingham Grand Central is a vibrant international food chain that has been serving authentic Japanese dishes since 1997. With over 100 restaurants worldwide, their location in Birmingham offers a colorful dining experience with dishes served on a kaiten conveyor belt or ordered from the open kitchen. The menu features a variety of options including spicy tuna rolls, avocado maki, miso soup, salmon sashimi, and beef tataki.
The staff here are friendly and their service is excellent. Food is good but portions are small, so you buy more then suddenly it's very expensive... But if you can do maths before you order, then you will probably enjoy it here.
Phil H — Google review
Food was decent, not a great selection available but when we asked for something it was made quickly. The biggest down side was the service, the chef had to greet us because no-one else was available, after we were sat down no-one came to take our drinks order and when I went to ask I was surprised when the guy sat at the bar picked up a tablet and offered to take my order, he looked like a customer! All in all it was ok but not sure I’d repeat the experience. Dessert was amazing though.
Sharon B — Google review
I went for the Bottomless Belt today, and it was my first time visiting. No complaints about the quality of the food, which was made to a high standard. However, a member of staff clearly told me that I could order select items like gyoza, katsu curry etc off the menu as part of the bottomless belt. Unfortunately, when I came to order these items, another member of staff apologised and said the policy had changed, and I would only have the cold options on the belt. This left me disappointed, as I wouldn’t have the same experience I could’ve had months earlier. In addition the belt options were basically variations of the same thing. Salmon on rice (nigiri), salmon in rice (futomaki) or salmon on its own (sashimi). I saw Edamame once (I managed to nab it), and waited almost an hour for desserts to roll out. When it came to settling my bill, I was almost overcharged by £10 on the service fee, something I was not made aware of beforehand either online or in person. When I politely contested the charge, it was edited before my eyes to £2.25. Even this amount was too much, as I only wished to pay £29.95. Considering the mistakes made, I did not believe a service charge was warranted. All in all, this experience has dissuaded me from bringing my family here in the future, and I hope you can look into some of these issues as it may hinder return visits.
Syed A — Google review
Went to Yo! sushi, grand central station last night with work (Party of 20). It was a great experience, lots of plates to choose from off the belt. We also ordered off the menu which was really tasty and served quickly. Staff were very attentive and welcoming.

Overall the food is very good. It's always fresh and tasty but the portion sizes are small and quite expensive. It's very nice for a special occasion or a light lunch. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the food is easy to order via the QR code. It's well worth a visit if you like Japanese Food but be prepared to be hungry an hour after you eat Also...There is a service charge added to your bill as standard. Although i believe in tipping when service is good i don't think it should be expected.
Scott B — Google review
Sushi lunch for four. The mushroom teriyaki rice bowl was tasty, the salmon plate for two was okay. A couple of the conveyor plates didn't seem particularly fresh or were presented at a lower standard than I have previously enjoyed. The miso machine was also out of order. No button to call for service, so was a bit slow. Unfortunately, I wouldn't visit this one again.
Yusuf C — Google review
The food was great and the experience and people are amazing only thing I’d say is bring some water and service one in the session was slow for us but the food and making experience is beginner friendly and memorable

We recently took part in the Yo! Sushi School and had a fantastic experience. The session was fun, engaging, and a great way to learn how to make sushi from scratch. Wilma, our teacher, was excellent—she explained everything clearly, made the class really enjoyable, and kept the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. The quality of the food and the hands-on approach made it even better. Overall, it was a brilliant experience and I would highly recommend it. Five stars.

Kimchi Korean Restaurant in Birmingham is a relaxed eatery that serves both Korean and Japanese cuisine. With its brick accents, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes such as chicken, ramen, BBQ, and hot pot meals. Located in Selly Oak, which is popular among students, Kimchi is a go-to place for comforting and delicious food at affordable prices.
Nice food and friendly staff! The one and only my favourite Korea restaurant in BMH. Really makes me miss Korea so muchhhhhhhh! Very authentic Korean food! (But it's really hot and sweaty to eat in a restaurant in summer)🫠🫠🫠🫠

This place is an absolute joke. My friends and I ordered BBQ Set B (£48) after the staff assured us multiple times it was enough for 3 people. However, the portion served was shockingly small and barely enough for one person, let alone three (no refill). To make matters worse, steamed rice wasn't even included and was charged separately at £2.50 per bowl, making our meal (£59.20 total) absurdly expensive for the amount of food provided. Very disappointing experience, would definitely avoid if you're expecting normal size portions or value for money.
Yu C — Google review
Me and my friend came here on a whim to try bibimbap. It's quite rustic. I feel like it's more of a takeaway with seating than a restaurant but it's a nice relaxed atmosphere. The lady who served us was friendly and we were seated instantly. We ordered prawn kimbap and the bibimbap and my friend had tea while I chose an old mout cider. The food was good, the prices here are certainly amazing value for money. If I recall it was £18 per person and the portion sizes were huge. Everything seemed clean and you can see the kitchen from the seated area. Overall a good experience which I would repeat to try something new off of the menu. Thank you !

They work with a number of different Birmingham eateries to bring their delicious food to you, so be sure to check them out!
Have visited a few times and always enjoy trying the specials here. Offers a good variety of dishes with great tastes. Particularly enjoyed the crispy belly pork, skewers and spring rolls on today’s visit.
Joshua M — Google review
This is a place you will need to book in advance. They used to charge a £20 deposit but they don't take this payment upfront anymore. They will charge if you don't turn up I guess. The food is delicious and we particularly enjoyed the crispy pork belly and courgette dish. The mains were ok (chicken noodles) but I'd say the food from the specials board stole the show. I have been here a few times now over the last few years and feel that it's somewhat different. Can't quite place my finger on it though mind. Overall however tasty food and friendly staff.
Sarah S — Google review
So... regardless of the pushback, the experience here was terrible! We came because of the 5-star Google Maps reviews and because Stirchley is becoming an amazing place to visit. The first problem is the £20 booking fee if you are absent. I understand the concept, but £20? That's the most I've seen from a small establishment. Second, the food! Wow! My partner and I were on the toilet for 2 days after. The chicken wasn't cooked properly at all! Lastly, my clothes stank of 2-week-old, stale deep-frying oil. It was embarrassing to go anywhere else after. The toilet is outside—I mean, seriously, 5 stars? Won't be coming here again unless we need a detox

Scruffy looking place but I’m sure it’s deliberate😁 Smallish menu. Very busy but great energy from within. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Absolutely amazing food. Great pork belly, great veggie dishes but my personal favourite were the peanut butter and marmite chicken wings 😁👏👏👏 A great table for four with reservations a must. Do not expect chic but do expect really really good food. Would love to go back. Thoroughly recommended 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇻🇳

If you're on the hunt for a vibrant and healthy meal in Birmingham, look no further than Kuula Poke. This delightful eatery brings the essence of Hawaiian cuisine to life with its poke bowls that beautifully blend sushi, fresh vegetables, and tropical fruits. Founded out of a passion for this nutritious fast food, Kuula Poke has quickly become a local favorite since opening its doors.
Love this place. Considering you're slap bang on Birmingham city centre, prices are fair. Healthy (if you don't add all the sauces on), fresh and filling. Never had a poke bowl before but I come here often, and if you get a loyalty card, you get the 10th bowl free. I've always opted for the tuna or salmon but they do chicken and have great veg options too. One of my go-to spots for lunch in town. I've tried other Poke bowls since at other places including restaurants, but nothing compares. Highly recommend

Gutted I only just discovered this! I’ve recently moved away from Birmingham and I only discovered this place on my last weekend! This was my first time trying a Poke Bowl and I have to say, it was delicious. A poke bowl is a bowl of rice topped with toppings of your choice. It is served cold. You choose your flavour and size and then the Poke bowl is made fresh to order and you get to select additional toppings that you like. There is a good variety to choose from and each one was fresh and tasty! The sauces were amazing too! I couldn’t finish mine as they are surprisingly very filling. Staff was very nice and even gave me a top up of sauce when I asked for it. Definitely a good place to eat in brum town centre.

I usually really enjoy this place – the staff are friendly, and the salads are fantastic. Unfortunately, when I visited around 6pm today 21/08/25, I had a very disappointing experience. The woman working that evening was incredibly rude. After I gave my order, she responded with a condescending ‘WHAT,’ and then told me she was too busy to serve me because of an online order, as if it were my fault. She ultimately refused me service. It left me feeling unwelcome – whether it was because I was in gym clothes or simply because I’m young/poc and not a suited businessman, I’m not sure. Either way, this experience has really put me off returning.

shame of an establishment. pretty sure every member of staff has been trained differently, one let an account be made using an irish age card as a form of id (highly reliable and very trusted form of id) then we went in today to celebrate my friends birthday and her account had been fully suspended because her id is apparently to easy to be faked - the very id they let her make the account with in the first place and has used plenty of times before. put a very abrupt and unfortunate end to our night due to miscommunication between staff. what makes an irish id easier to be faked than any other nationality??? The security on the door, tall 6”2 or maybe 6”5. Bold, was literally so rude. And condescending. He was judges us based on the questions he directly asked us. We explained we did have a drink previously at a different location. But we were not drunk or intoxicated. It was a slap in the face when another group who were caucasian individuals proceeded to head in without any questioning or prejudice that me and my friends had gone through. It is disgusting and out of order. If you don’t want to let us in because we don’t meet your criteria of people. Say that, and don’t make excuses with fake questioning.

Very busy, nice atmosphere though. Excellent drink selection. Food was nice but personally don't think the thigh meat works on the burger, its too tough to bite especially with lots of toppings it just kind of makes a mess, it was also quite tasteless but the loaded fries were nice.

Had a few decent beers. I'm always a little disappointed that every beer is served so cold as it subdues the flavour in a lot of them, nevertheless I enjoyed the three beers I had and they were competitively priced on the whole. Was right for time so also ate here for the first time. Burger was excellent, really enjoyed it. Fries were meh, but filled a hole. Massive shout-out to Bhush. Fantastic service, great banter and a sense of humour too. He made the experience better on all levels. Yet another venue where they ask for a service charge (tip) before food arrives. What if it's terrible? I just don't like this concept. I paid it in advance, on the back of Bhush being great. Luckily the doors was also good, but I just don't like the concept.

I had a chicken burger whereby it was clearly chicken thigh which was grey and tasted off so I left it, the guys I was with both had sandwiches which were piled with mustard to the point where it was overwhelming and they couldn’t eat anymore we were asked if the food was okay but I felt like it was just a question and our response of the issues we had were sort of just a sorry. I would try again just wouldn’t touch the chicken, I would have expected some sort of refund :(. But due to the other good reviews maybe this was just a one off xxx

Visited on a Sunday for a couple of beers after lunch nearby. The service was tremendous, I didn't catch the chap's name but he had a Scottish accent. Very welcoming and friendly. Beers were decent as expected, but seemed a little on the pricey side. North of £6 for ¾ pints, you can get some of their own beers a lot cheaper in other pubs. I opted for the Double Hazy IPA at first, and a Raspberry Lemonade for my wife. Then went back up for a Pinball DIPA but sadly they ran out mid-pour and I settled for an Elvis Juice Grapefruit IPA instead. The vibe inside was nice and chilled at that time, they had board games available, and some people were having lunch, but I didn't try any food myself.

Good bar, nice and airy. Lots of seats inside and benches outside. There is some seating downstairs but feels a bit gloomy! You can use a QR code and order direct to table. Some cocktails are in 2 4 1 between 4pm and 7pm

The Birmingham BrewDog Bar is a first class establishment. Great choice of craft beers and delicious food. Popped back over in Oct 2025. and still as good. Had the Spicy Deluxe Burger this time, it was one of the best burgers I've ever had !!!!

Very delicious burger, a large choice of food. Staff is very friendly and lovely. Large choice of refreshing ice cold beers. I highly recommend trying coming here while in town.

Sandwich shop
GupShup is a sandwich shop which will offer very different lunches to the city centre trade. The food is excellent and the sandwiches are full-on meals. The shop has been successful online for over a year, so it's opening its first city centre branch in the former Flight Centre store. The toast is amazing and the taste unforgettable. I would definitely recommend GupShup to friends.
Tried out Shokupan in Society for lunch and decided to go for The Reuben after seeing it all over social media. Honestly, it was amazing – the pastrami was tender, slightly salty, and sliced thin so it just melted in your mouth. The mix of flavours was perfect: soft sweet bread, savoury meat, tangy kraut all perfectly balanced. Super tasty and really satisfying. Definitely going to be my new go-to lunch spot!

I have tried this place before when it was on Colmore Row and its lost some of its appeal. Now its in the Bull Ring the food is just as good, sandwiches are fantastic and combinations always work. One of the best brownies Ive had in a long time. Only one gripe, the long table down the middle does not work for me its too narrow meaning so you are very close to other people. Staff are great! I approve👍🏾

I usually love Shokupan and have eaten here often, but it really has gone downhill. The woman at the till is constantly miserable, never greets customers, doesn’t even smile and clearly struggles to manage orders during busy times. My food sat on the counter for several minutes while she failed to call out my number, people were literally breathing over it, and by the time I got it, it was cold. The food itself was also a complete let down. The Hot Pepper Sandwich had barely any chicken, and the El Bushra sandwich was even worse — practically no filling at all. For the price you pay, you’d expect generously filled sandwiches, not mostly bread. The fries were overcooked and chewy, which made the extra £3.50 for the meal deal feel like a complete waste. On top of this the food always seems to be extremely oily with oil seeping through the bread leaving a weird taste in your mouth. Shokupan seriously needs to improve the service at this location and stop being so stingy with their fillings. For a place that markets itself as high quality, this experience was anything but. Don’t even bother contacting the management to offer constructive criticism, they won’t even bother responding- it just shows how much the company cares about money over their reputation and customer service. Avoid wasting your money here.

Visited Shokupan today with my children as my daughter has been asking me for a long time she wanted to try the Sandos here. Loved the vibe, ambience and aesthetics of this place. The menu was a good size not too overwhelming with lots of items. Reasonably priced. We got the full OG Sando Meal with Hot Pepper Chicken Sandos, a side of fries, seasoned mushroom and a drink and we also ordered Pistachio Shokupop with large chai. The food was absolutely delicious, the Sandos were so filling we shared it amongst ourselves, the chai was aromatic and the mushrooms were well seasoned. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Can’t get over the actual Sando bread itself, was so soft, light and airy, sweet but not sickly. I will next time definitely buy the Mega loaf to take home 🍞 Will be visiting again very soon 😋

Popped into Shokupan in it's new digs in Society and it did not disappoint. We had the Reuben which was absolutely sensational and surpassed our expectations. We also tried the Yankee Beef and some shwarma loaded fries. The sandwiches are really filling and we couldn't finish everything. Service was fast and friendly. The owner was in on the day we were there and checked in with all his patrons - he should be really proud of this place! Five star sandos!

We were looking for somewhere in town that was convenient but could cater to all of the families taste. This place was a reasonable price and all around great service, the kids loved the modern vibe and their food and the same for us. We ordered pizza and chips for the kids, my other half had a OG Sandos - Hulk Mutton and I went for the Shawarma Chicken Loaded Fries. I'd say we are all quite hard to please, but we really enjoyed it and will definitely be going back. The portion sizes were decent too! Winner!

Great sandwich, been gutted since gupshupp closed down in snow hill so great to see another dynamite sandwich shop come. I had the keema (mutton) sandwich and it was really tasty. Could be spicier but I do like my spicy food and I know most can't Handle that level of spice. The decor is really cool and funky and they have self checkout counters which is good. Price point is around £9 for a sandwich which in this day n age seems standard. Staff are nice n friendly aswell, will hopefully be back and try the chai and other sandos!!

Went today because I was HUNGY. Easy touch screen ordering, lovely staff, great sando. Vibes kinda off tho, don't know if it was just because it was mega busy Saturday didn't feel super comfortable stuffing my face In the restaurant. Lemon beverage saved my day however, zesty boi brought me back to life 👌
