The 44 best cake shops and cake bakeries in Birmingham

I’m sad to report that this was a distinctly underwhelming experience. My daughter and I decided to pop in for an afternoon drink and a pastry. We normally go to EL&N, however their recent food hygiene rating has put us off, so we thought we’d try somewhere new. Firstly, the general ambience is rather grubby and downmarket: the tables were tacky, the singular a toilet an afterthought and everywhere looked like it needed a good scrub. We had to wait for a table (no problem), however it was almost impossible to catch anyone’s eye, so the whole process was unclear. When we were seated, we were given some rather tired and shabby menus which immediately adhered themselves to the surface of the table. Not to be deterred, we made our choice from the limited selection of pastries and cakes available. I chose the passionfruit cruffin which had seen better days and was still dripping in cooking fat. It was far from the light and delicate laminated pastries that I have tried at artisan bakeries and I felt rather let down. We noticed that the general atmosphere was unfriendly, I suspect that this was partly due to the staff’s fantastic ability to avoid eye contact at all times. Even my daughter noted that she had not seen a single member of waiting staff actually smile during the entirety of our visit. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

TLDR: I’d only recommend this place if you’re getting a pastry from the front. Long wait times (45+ mins) + no cooling system = not a great place to dine in. Came here twice and had very different experiences. When a friend and I grabbed a pastry from the front, we were served and seated right away, even moving to a booth when requested. The atmosphere was great and the interior is very aesthetic and appealing for social media. No complaints here. When I came alone a few months later to order brunch, I had a 2/5 experience. First, it took around 5-10 minutes to be seated with no acknowledgment of the long wait time, even with several moments of eye contact with staff who didn’t seem very rushed, though this can be overlooked. Second, I waited over 45 minutes for my food (not a guess or overestimate) without acknowledgment of any sort. There was a period of around 15 minutes where nothing came out of the kitchen (I had a direct view of where the food exited). During this wait time, it was increasingly apparent how uncomfortable the space was. There was no AC and the building has no windows to open. The only cooling system was a single fan, and with the many skylights, the restaurant felt like a greenhouse. Literally outside the restaurant was cooler than inside and that’s not an exaggeration. The food itself was alright. I ordered the harissa benedict and the only qualm I have with it was that the eggs were almost hard boiled and not runny at all. There was a lot of chorizo on it and the mushrooms were great, however I don’t think I’d pay £14 for it again.

A lovely brunch, but nothing special. We ordered the granola bowl, some toast and some bakes to take home. The sourdough was lovely (although the jam alongside is just a jar, not homemade), and the bowls were okay, albeit quite lacking on the fruit. The bakes we took home were really disappointing. The biscoff cruffin had no biscoff 😅 and the chocolate chip cookie was completely tasteless. The setting itself was lovely, a great spot to meet for a coffee.

I love medicine bakery so I was chuffed to find it open on new street just a walk away from the office! Lunch was delicious! I was excited to have my usual fried chicken but they ran out!!??? Shockkkkk! But hey I got to try something new and went for Turkish eggs! Delicious and very healthy. Lovely space and atmosphere! There are individual tables and sharing tables so make a note of what you want on your booking if you’re fussy!

Delicious food! Mike served us today he was a really chilled guy, was really understanding when I returned the matcha drink I didn’t like- I got the iced chai latte and it was AMAZING! Would come back again

First time here for breakfast . Very smart place in the mailbox Birmingham. Menu good with lots of lovely choices. My choice-sausage brioche with a side of hash brown. Very tasty. 😁 Rooibos tea. ☕️ Group of four. Made reservations but not really needed. Good service. Comfy seats. Nice clean space. Bakery section cakes etc looked amazing and took selection home 🤣🤣👏 There are other locations in the city 😁 Toilets nice and clean. Child friendly. Disabled friendly. Wheelchair access. Been a few times and usually really enjoy, bit of a shame the food wasn't as good today. I had the vegan brunch with an added poached egg which was more water than egg. My partner had the regular brunch, both of our hash browns felt a bit undercooked. But drinks were lovely and we've been before for pastries which were delicious!

I was drawn in by the lovely smell of coffee when I walked past. I just about found a table for two of us as it was quite a busy time. Service was generally good. I had a flat white which is usually my standard coffee shop order, and it was decent. Lots of lovely looking cakes and pastries but I wasn't hungry so didn't try them.

I've been here lots and have never been disappointed. This is the best coffee I have tried in Brum. I usually just snack here and find a great selection to chose from. If you are a coffee snob you will be fine here. ☕ It helps that the staff are very pleasant and helpful too.

What a coffee (espresso)! Absolutey great and they well explained what to expect on the tasting side. All this done by really friendly and kind staff. And on top of it an awesome almond croissant! What do you need more to start your day!

A lovely little cafe with good coffee and sweet treats to accompany. Looks like they're made on site. No toilets but there are free ones across the road in the station. Also do some sofas for those who don't want to caffeinate.

I had the Turkish Eggs from the Early Birds Menu and they were absolutely delicious! A perfect balance of flavours – creamy poached eggs, rich and tangy yoghurt, crispy toast, warm spices, and fresh herbs. Every bite was a little explosion of taste. The service was lovely too – friendly, attentive, and relaxed. Such a great start to the day in a place with great atmosphere. Highly recommended if you're in Birmingham and looking for something special for breakfast!

I’ve come here over the years for takeaways, with friends and family and to just get admin work done. I really liked this bakery and the staff are so so nice. However, since they expanded the bakery, it’s just become chaotic. They’ve lost some nice staff due to not accommodating for the expansion. For example, they should have made a separate coffee bar so that there is space for a bigger coffee machine for at least 2x staff to focus on hot drinks. 1 poor staff member sweating over trying to make the whole bakery’s coffees and all the takeaway drinks. Freeing up space by having a separate drinks making space would allow for more space in the front for 2x tills as there are cues now. Only 1x till also means that another staff member is stuck by themselves dealing with orders, takeaways and all the online orders. The staff honestly look quite stressed, I really feel for them. Especially as they are so nice to me, and a few of the female staff I get on well with. Once this is addressed it would be back to 5 stars as a rating! Other than that, the bakery items are good quality, food is really nice, creative flavours although quite pricey these days. I would not want to pay more if the prices went up further. The coffee is also quite nice and I really like the in house creations such as the miso caramel which you can also buy in store!

After hearing so many people rave about this place, I popped in today to pick up a couple of sweet treats. I chose the cherry and almond brioche and honestly, they were absolutely amazing! The lady at the counter couldn’t have been nicer or more personable either. What a lovely little gem of a place! I’ll definitely be back soon!

I’m rarely amazed by brunch food but wow this was amazing….delicious food ! Portions were huge so 100% worth its price ! It’s definitely my favourite place right and will for sure come back. Ps. I recommend coming quite early or booking a table as bakery got full pretty quickly.

Cute little bakery I recommend grabbing some baked goods! The brunch was ok, a bit pricey for what it was. It is a nice place to try some interesting pastries. The iced matcha latte was nice, along with the caramel latte. Not halal, but they did have veg options.

This is paradise for pastry and coffee lovers. And great brunch menu with a twist from the traditional ones. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Food was great, had a mixed grill combo with a burger. So much food I had to take the burger home in a little box. Steak was cooked as asked for and everything was fresh, hot and very appetising. Food was great value for money. Had the fish and chips, chips were luke warm but once staff informed they brought out fresh bowls of hot chips. Marie who delivered out food was, nice and attentive to our needs. Free soft play makes it worth while

Garden area is so nice very secure they have really upgraded it Food was good for 8 of us and 4 kids the kids plates were a bit hot though could have been bought out sooner rather than under the lamp and them start before us. Wouldn't have been an issue. Maria was lovely also

We went for the Brunch menu, you got a couple of drinks and a selection on a limited menu. Food was pretty good all around the group, we all had cocktails which were just okay, pretty weak but taste was just okay nothing great . The experience was pleasant, would I say it was value for money? I think for £30, just about.

Drinks..AMAZING! Food was ok but took such a long time to come and when the burger arrived was very dry and hard. The pork belly however was so moist and flavourful. Our server Tiffany was just the best, so pleasant and friendly and forgave our cheap nature when we were waiting till half 8 to order our drinks to take advantage of the 2 4 1 offer on cocktails and then even recommended a cocktail for us to try which was one of my favourite!

We had such a wonderful time! The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff was super friendly—especially our waitress, Lola. Even though it was a bit busy, she regularly checked on us to ensure we were having a great experience. And the drinks? Absolutely delicious! You can’t go wrong with the reggae rum punch. Highly recommend it!

I was out in Birmingham today 18.8.2025, I had been to to this place before a couple of years ago and was impressed , went again today with my brother , he has never been before , he too was very impressed & said he would be returning again , food was cooked fresh , and waiting staff were brilliant. Our waitress was a young lady called Sophia who was very attentive , 10/10 thank you so much guys for a lovely lunch.

We had a bottomless brunch and were served by Rosa — she was absolutely brilliant! I've been to so many bottomless brunches over the years, but Rosa really made this one the best I’ve ever been to. She was attentive, friendly, and created such a fun atmosphere. Truly amazing — a real credit to the business. Honestly can’t praise her enough!

Cherry Reds is a hidden gem! Lovely traditional Cafe Bar with nice decor and a cosy atmosphere. Menu selection is extensive and includes a wide variety of vegan/vegetarian options alongside traditional English food and drinks. The Diddy Breakfast was excellent quality and tasted delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. An added bonus is the selection of cask and keg ales available. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Birmingham!

This is my favourite cafe in Birmingham. It is always friendly, is so handy for New Street Station and serves good coffee and food. There is always something of interest on the walls. There are good veggie options. If you're in Birmingham then visit.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The menu offered a great variety of options, from freshly brewed coffee to delicious pastries and hearty brunch dishes. I tried their avocado toast and a latte, both of which were absolutely delightful—the toast was perfectly seasoned, and the coffee was rich and smooth. The prices were reasonable for the quality, and the portion sizes were just right.

Waiting an hour or so for a train, could see this place from the ground floor, thought it would be perfect to spend my hour! Escalators up but, there is a lift too just not so easy to see, as I had suitcases, that’s for me. Lovely pleasant staff, found my seat next to the glass railing with a commanding view of the bull. Picked from a good menu, tasted great, plenty of it, well presented. Coffee was good too. And you aren’t stuck in a shop, the people watching is great! I didn’t know the bill performs on the hour!! A very pleasant hour, thoroughly recommend.

We had a wonderful Afternoon Tea at Café Concerto. The service was at a high standard, being well looked after by Giuseppe and the team who kept our tea topped up and their hospitality friendly and informative. The food was flavoursome, the egg mayo sandwich a must-have! The spread was colourful and well presented, offering a wide variety of textures and fillings. The scones were soft, and the little patisseries were delightful. The tea selection is great, and you have unlimited refills. Being inside Grand Central, it's easily accessible and has a relaxing atmosphere, natural light all around with comfortable seating. Would highly recommend for friends and couples alike!

I stopped by Café Concerto while passing through New Street Station. The café itself was fine – decent coffee and a light bite, though I did find it a bit on the expensive side for what it was. That said, the atmosphere was lively and the standout was definitely the moving bull statue nearby – such a cool surprise to see that in a train station! It added a really fun vibe to the visit. Overall, not a bad place for a quick stop if you're in transit, but be prepared to pay a little extra for the convenience and surroundings.

I had an excellent experience at Coffee Tales. The scrambled eggs on white sourdough with Cumberland sausage and back bacon were cooked perfectly, and the French toast with brioche topped with cinnamon, powdered sugar, strawberries, and blueberries was amazing. I also ordered fried eggs with bacon, which were delicious. Service was outstanding—though they said food might take 30 minutes, it only took about 10, and the drinks came out very quickly too. The staff were professional, friendly, and welcoming. The place itself is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

I can honestly say that this was THE best veggie breakfast (@ 1:30 in the afternoon) we have ever been served. The attached photo is of a very empty plate, not very helpful I know 😂 fantastic coffee and tea as well. The service was super freindly and everything was freshly cooked.

Love this easy and calming classic cafe feel. The food was simple but tasty. Not too much on the menu to confuse and baffle! The staff were sensational, kind and attentive. The toilets were very clean and is able to accommodate all (I.e. people with disabilities and parents who need to change their children) Coffee was great too! Nice full bodied and flavoursome! Quality service. For the portion you get when ordering the cakes or sandwiches, the price is extremely fair.

Pleasant staff, when we ordered they made us aware of the 20 minutes wait for food, poached egg on toast and a full English was worth the wait. Delicious and freshly made. Reasonably priced, extra charge for ketchup. Could be cleaner, ketchup or something similar was on our tea pot lid and something had been spilt over the laminated number we were given.

This gem of a cafe is always welcoming. The food is excellent. Today I had a mushroom croissant, which was creamy and delicious - served with a small side salad. There’s so much choice for vegetarians as well as meateaters. The patisserie looks amazing, but I’d need a second stomach to do them any justice!

Always a treat to step into this shop. A vision and as nice as a trip to France!

Oh well, what can I say. What a place! Such a little gem. We visited Knowle on our way home from a national trust house. Feeling pretty peckish we found this little gem. The huge meringues in the window drew us in and then we realised there was a restaurant at the back. We were quickly approached and seated. Our waitress was lovely. After struggling to decide which course to choose (the menu offers so many delicious options)I went for the aubergine parmigiana. OH MY GOODNESS. This has to be one of the best meals I’ve eaten in my life. So simple and served with delicious bread, it was divine and so flavoursome. My partners lasagne was gorgeous too. Hats off to the chef! The cakes and treats in the shop were beautiful too. Such an authentic place, with a lovely vibe and feel. Very busy so a popular haunt I think! We may have taken dessert away with us! Thanks for a memorable visit.

It was my first time trying Artisan Bakery today. It is a nice little bakery, and it was very busy. However, we were seated very quickly. The food took a long time to come but it was very well presented and quite tasty. I would return back again !

We had an excellent time at bread collection. The staff were all attentive, kind and professional. We tried the quiche which was delicious! The flavour combinations were divine. We also tried plenty of their sweet treats which were all expertly crafted and absolutely divine. We will definitely be back!

Art deco ‘old world’ train station cafe with lovely staff. Think Peaky Blinders meets Brief Encounter. Great coffee and tea but the sausage sandwich was less successful, suffering probably from being ‘kept warm’ too long the brioche (why? Excess calories and sweetness not required!) bun tasted a bit pappy and spoilt the sausage.

It is a coffee shop with a historical look that takes you to way back of the clock. It may have limited space inside but every corner of it worthy of your time. Both inside and outside has a balanced environment. There were enough comfortable sitting spaces in both areas. The decor of the shop made it an interesting place to visit. The stuffs were helpful, kind and welcoming. There were a manageable queue. There is a lot of interesting option for snaks. Had one latte and croissant and I loved it. The small glass of champagne happen to be very popular here among others, must be a good experience to enjoy while waiting for your train in lazy evening. Enjoy 😊

I ordered a kinder Bueno frappe and was served by Soham, and I gotta tell you. It was the best that I had in my life. All the staff was so lovely, but Soham, especially was the best.

Friendly but clueless. Retro style attracted me, but precooked bacon bun kept in heated cupboard was soggy and bacon over crisp. Had to wait for coffee as they had forgotten about it and then waited behind people who arrived minutes after I had paid. They seem easily confused about service although lovely and friendly at the same time.

A smashing little coffee shop/eaterie on the concourse of Moor Street Stn. Very amiable staff, great hot chocolate and coffee & walnut cake. Decent selection of prepacked sandwiches too. A nice little rest before catching a train.

Food was great! A lovely diverse crowd, and a perfect spot for a great mixed grill. Our server was Perry who looked after us well throughout our meal and was very hospitable and kind. The other waiters and bar staff were also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend visiting!

Really enjoyed our evening here on Saturday. Came as a group of 8. Lovely booth big enough for all our food and drinks. Asked if we could watch the ladies football and there was no problem putting it on the TV for us. Amazing Indian with a lovely family welcoming feel, I am gluten free and the waiter checked all my order with the chef. He was also able to easily swap things if items were not gluten free. They also had gluten free naan! Would definitely recommend for a hearty and delicious curry at really reasonable prices

Best Desi Grill in the country. I have been to many in London and Birmingham and the food here is amazing. Has to be tasted to be believed. I tried the mixed grill, plain nan and Soho Chips. Good portion sizes. Ammo who runs the place is very friendly and makes an effort. Recommend to all who appreciate good food.

Honestly one of the most unremarkable curries I have had. I don't like being negative about restaurants but there was no flavour to my meal. Also the chicken was either very poor quality or reconstituted (like chicken nuggets). Waited a fairly quiet bar for a drink for 15 minutes. You can make a better meal for a lot cheaper and not a lot of time. Edit: I have since found out that I was not given chicken, like I ordered, but Seitan (some vegan substitute). Absolutely absurd. Avoid at all costs

Overall was lovely! We went on fight night so it was really busy but still got served pretty quick, staff were really friendly, I think the longest wait was to get drinks at the bar… Food was served fresh and tasty, no complaints, with good portion sizes. Will go back

First time in a Five Guys tonight. The burger was excellent and the topping choices made it very customisable. I was warned you got a lot of fries ... But I didn't listen and went large. I have as many fries left over now I have finished as I have eaten. I went for the spicy and they were quite hot (more than anticipated) and very filling. Drink is very expensive, but you get free refills. You really need to get a refill to make it any sort of value. Overall it is expensive for what you get, but the food is good. Maybe do it for a treat occasionally.

I must say, the food is really good — especially the fries, I loved them! The burger was delicious, and the service was great too. The place was clean, which is always a good sign. My only complaint is that it felt a little pricey, but overall, a very good experience.

I really love it. It was my first time at five guys, and I enjoyed the meal. I like how you can easily pick what goes on your burgers, and the milkshake was deliciousssss. You can have different things in your milkshake also. The environment was neat and quiet, and the staff were really friendly.

Not going to be coming back anytime soon. Let me tell you why. For a spend of £15-£18 there are much better places. McDonalds, Smashburger, Burger & Sauce, Nandoes all have better food for a lesser price. In these places it will cost you likely less than that for a meal. You get delicious fries, burgers, anything and usually very well made. For £18 I got a paper bag with a burger that had a very cold bun and overly chewy beef. One side of it was absolutely caked in sauce so much it was really messy to eat and ingredients constantly slipped out. All of this was wrapped in a foil like I were having a packed lunch. Then over that foil-wrapped burger was a cup of fries and a ton more fries dumped on top. As for the drink it was great but that's a given since it's dispensed from a freestyle machine. The flavour was fine but nothing great. It had the All In ingredients and tasted nice and the chips were fine too but the price is a huge let down for me along with how the burger was served. Would have much rather gone to Nandoes or Smashburger. For a £8-10 meal, great if the burger is served properly. For the £15-18 mark absolutely not.

This is one of my worst experience in five guys. Horrible taste with my Bacon cheeseburger. The Burger just kept falling apart while I was eating coz the Burger wasn't even assembled properly. The meat tasted like my uncle's shoe, old and dry, and smelled a bit weird. That Burger I'm sure wasn't made to order since how bad the texture it was. The cheese wasn't even melted in my cheeseburger and it came cold. I swear if I've ordered more chips the US is going to declare war on me. Every single fry was soggy and soaked in oil. Some of the fries were not even salted. Given I've paid for my food here, I expected some quality food. Yet, I'm greeted with pig slop that has been in the oil tank for decades. Do not recommend.

I recently dined at Hilton Hotel and ordered the salmon set, which is listed as a main course. However, I was disappointed with the portion size—it was unreasonably small, especially given that it was £22 (see photos attached). For a venue with such a prestigious reputation, I expected much better value for money.

We had food here last night (April 11th) and wow it was bloody delicious. We had the calamari and nachos to start my husband wishes he ordered more calamari it was that good my nachos was full of flavour all home made! For our mains I had the burger and husband had steak with a side of onion rings I really couldn’t recommend this place enough the food was to die for. We always stay here if we have a show and the menu has just changed and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Service was a little slow in the restaurant. Food and drink on the pricier side but it was good quality and tasted great. We would consider visiting again.

A nicely designed posh interior to this modern continental restaurant part of the Holiday Inn hotel. A good breadth of options, we went for the afternoon tea. It was a basic afternoon tea then those you typically expect from a hotel but was wonderfully presented. The scone was warm. There were only 3 finger sandwiches and we weren't offered refills. The egg mayonnaise was delicious though! The cakes were ones that are from a posh factory bought set, but were nice enough. Mini Carrot and walnut, victoria sponge and a chocolate eclair.

Lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. I did like the afternoon tea overall but somewhat disappointed in the selection offered, enjoyed the scone and little chocolate cake. But more small sandwiches could have been provided, slightly suprised at the fact so few we're given (3 slim cuts each). But as I said nice scones and little petite chocolate cake. Cream cake was ok to, we both left the cinnomon cakes just due to personal tastes. I would come back here but to try something from the lunch menu, not for the afternoon tea. 4 stars for the atmosphere, lovely coffee and welcoming staff.

The bar manager is a master of cocktails and puts enormous effort into crafting classics and his own riffs.

Having visited a large number of coffee outlets in Birmingham the Six Eight Kafe tops my list. The quality of the coffee served is first class as is the range of beverages on offer. The ambience of the location is also a winner and is a great place to work from with high speed wireless available to customers. Highly recommended!

This is a great place for a real coffee. I always try and pop in when I am in town. The coffee is flavorful and delicious and goes down well in the well presented interior. Forget the bland chain places, if you want the best coffee in Birmingham this is the place to go.

Nice coffee shop in a great spot situated in the centre of Birmingham close to the cathedral. Staff are really friendly and welcoming serving up great quality coffee. They also have a small but good selection of being equipment to buy.

Love this place. The coffee is amazing, and the sourdough toast and jam is incredible - I never knew coffee and toast could be so delightful. Lovely atmosphere and layout, and great staff. I always make sure to visit Six Eight Kafe every time I venture to Birmingham, it's not a trip to Birmingham without a flat white from Six Eight Kafe.

Stumbled across this coffee shop using Google Maps, decided to check it out because of the high reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Great little independent coffee shop, with friendly staff and the best coffee I have tasted. This will definitely become a stop off point every time I am in Birmingham.

Apart from the new employee who was learning the skills to become a barista - he left my (well extracted) coffee sitting whilst he stretched the milk, but we all have to learn! - I have nothing but praise. Friendly, knowledgeable staff - good quality and freshly roasted, single origin beans. The coffee was excellent, even if it wasn't made to my exacting demands! Coffee chains!? Pfft! This is where the good stuff is.

I Walked past Six/Eight several times on my way to uni, smiling at their amusing messages on the blackboard and one day I decided to go in and now I'll never go anywhere else. It is without a doubt the best coffee in Birmingham! The staff are ever so friendly and are always happy to have a chat, you aren't just another face like in a chain cafe. The cake and food is always lovely, with a hip atmosphere it is hard to find anywhere that even comes close to 6/8!

I had my two children’s cake done by this amazing lady and she never disappoints. Everything I asked for she made and gone up and beyond to make the cake perfect. I Recommend this lady to everyone. Our wedding cake and cupcakes were absolutely perfect! All of our communication was through email and phone calls, and she still completely brought my vision to life. What a wonderful little set-up! The macarons themselves were delightful, with a good range of flavours and presented in a lovely box and bag that was perfect for a graduation present. What they are doing is brilliant too, using children from disadvantaged backgrounds across the business to help train them and give them skills, equipping them for a better future - truly noble. Do bear that in mind when you go in, that this may be the first experience of retail or working that some of these kids may have had. I thought they were fab, they knew everything I needed to about the product and were super friendly. Keep up the great work, and well done.

I love the concept of this place and used to love coming here but wasn't too impressed today. I used to remember the vanilla or 'tonka' macaron being amazing from here but when I asked about them I basically got a 'computer says no' response. I left with a couple though but some of them don't look as well risen and are quite chewy compared to what I'm used to.

I have had about five deliveries of macaroons from Miss Macaroon, two for my own family and three as presents for friends and relatives. The product is delicious and well presented. The deliveries have been well manages, and the gifts have been enthusiastically received. It feels like a win-win - a bit of a luxury treat, the production of which provides employment opportunities for people in need of help.

I ordered a friend a gift box of macaroons and the interaction and updates I received from yourselves has been absolutely amazing. So amazing I placed two more orders. Popped in yesterday to see what goodies were on offer, and came out with a loaf of German rye, a slice of cherry chocolate cake and some hot sauce. Had a lovely chat with a bearded chap who gave recommendations on all sorts. Will return next time I'm in the area to try some more pastries for sure!

Delicious croissants and the best cinnamon bun I’ve had in a long time. Don’t be put off by the lack of the pastries in the cabinet, they keep them behind :) very patient server whilst I waited for a text order!

Absolutely love this place and the raw, cut-back atmosphere. The bread was fantastic and one of the best I'd had in a while. I took it home and everybody absolutely loved it. The staff were super friendly as well, and I will be definitely going back very soon.

Attended a brilliant 'Back to basics bread' course at loaf led by Neil who was very knowledgeable and attentitive. We made a vast selection of bread with the finest quality of ingredients. Cannot wait to do another course in the near future!

Attending the Dumpling making class in the cook school half. It was a well run, great event. Showed into a cupper and breads while waiting for all members to arrive. Small groups of 10 help show and guided through making 4 types of dumpling with their fillings. Hands on and well taught. Then all cooked and eaten. Bring a pot to take any home they were yummy!

Come for the Criffin, you won’t regret it. This splendid, eclectic bakery offers a large selection of baked goods. It’s a huge place with comfy seating and an oriental themed flavour to its surroundings. The staff are warm and chatty. Do check out the pastries. Goodness gracious, they’re something else.

This lovely bakery is hidden away on Dale End, it's a gem! This was my second visit and I received another warm welcome by the member of staff. I had the tasty bacon, brie and onion chutney sandwich, I opted for the sourdough bread after having the ciabatta bread last time. The sandwiches are thick which I like and there was enough bacon and brie inside. I had a luke warm hot chocolate, that's why I gave 4 stars, but I assume this is how they make it. They have a great selection of pastries, I had the chocolate and hazelnut swirl to takeaway (it was delicious 😋 ate it as soon as I got home). I will definitely be back to try one of the breakfasts or the pizza. 👌

went to visit yesterday and got this cronut to take away, was sooo good, tasted v fresh and v sweet, not chewy at all! Crispy but fluffy and soft 🤤 they have so many pretty pastries and bakes on display!

Great little bakery with a massive choice of home baked goods. I had some raspberry bread pudding which was lovely. I have yet to try their cruffins. There bread selection looked great as well. The cafe also offers cooked dishes and the coffee was delicious. The staff was super friendly.

Best bread and pastries in town, I've tried a few bakeries in town and none have been up to the standard of Orientee. The reason for 4 stars is due to the roast dinners and pizza's, they're definitely not 'bad', but can be improved. The pizza itself was very tasty, it was just that the toppings all fell off leaving me to eat the toppings and base separately. Other than that, the price/quality ratio is great

So.. went there first thing in the morning today, grabbed few things such as coffee,a cake and.. a profiterole. Came back home, opened the box and started eating. Then I realised it was frozen inside. I saw the lady pulling the box from under the actual display but was sure it was just packed in beforehand in case there would be a queue etc. It seem like I was wrong and this one was probably from before the bank holiday. Just frozen so they’d save some money and not throw the food away. I have a very bittersweet feeling now as it wasn’t cheap, comparing the quality now and even two years ago it is so disappointing! Not coming back :) and recommend to everybody to ask kindly if the things are fresh before leaving.. I’m attaching the picture so you can see the actual flakes..that was after I removed the top bit.

Fantastic food! We ordered the Hog roast sausage roll and an almond croissant on with two coffees. Coffee was some of the best we have had in a very long time. Would be nice to have the option for the croissant warmed. The site does have a toilet. However, the cafe is situated in the centre of their car park, with lots of traffic moving around. Young children need to be kept under close eyes due to the cars. The parking bays also aren't labelled, which led to some interesting parking, making navigating the car park quite difficult. Would highly recommend a visit.

I had seen this place online during my recent trip and I couldn't resist a visit. I popped in and got a coffee, maple pecan Danish and a Lemon meringue tart, they were all delicious! The setting was just adorable a perfect autumn setting. The staff were lovely and welcoming even though the que was out the door they were welcoming and took time for a little chat. I try to shop independently and the customer service here made this place really stand out. Unfortunately I don't live close at all or they would be taking all my money!!

So we were convinced by the social media posts it was going to be super cosy and give cute autumn vibes. The cafe was so busy, lines around the bend to the point where you couldnt get a table, people were saving them when they were further away from the start of the queue. We finally ordered, the pastries and cakes werent labelled if they were veg or vegan. The drinks were from a machine. Some of the bakes were ok and toasties were edible. Learnt a lesson to stay away from instagram hyped places. Also there were dogs and a strange smell around the place.. maybe owners were letting them do their business outside the cabin?

Amazing bakery, lovely atmosphere, a real little gem. The BBQ pulled pork toasties were amazing, so is the chocolate and custard croissant. Coffee is rich and full bodied. The food was so good we picked up a red velvet and a carrot cake to take away - also incredible. Lovely, moist and full of flavour. We will definitely be back.

I had such a wonderful time staying at The Grand Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless and luxurious. Our room was incredibly comfortable, spacious, spotless, and perfect for relaxing after a day out. One of the highlights for me was the main bar area. It’s genuinely like something out of a movie, stylish, classy, yet completely relaxed. The perfect spot to unwind with a drink and soak in the atmosphere. My partner pre booked the Isaac Bar which is based in the basement (highly recommend booking ahead, it was packed and definitely not one for walk-ins on the night we went). The vibe down there is amazing, with regular live music and a good cocktail menu. All in all, a brilliant experience. I’d definitely stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable getaway with some great nightlife options right on-site

Beautiful hotel in a great location, loads and loads of places to eat and drink within walking distance. The hotel was stunning, very well kept. The room was above average size, clean, with a comfy bed and pillows, and a great sized bathroom with a double sized shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel doesn't have its own car park but is close to the B4 carport and offered a discounted rate if you put your reg in the tablet at reception, which was a great money saver! There is also a jazz bar beneath the hotel which is worth checking out and is open late.

I had a wonderful stay here it is a beautiful hotel. Room was lovely. I also want to give a huge thank you to a very kind gentleman who went over and above to help when I lost my coat and my keys were in the coat pocket. He looked everywhere and was so kind and helpful if I could give him 10 stars I would. I believe his name was Abdul and he was so helpful not just with me but with every person. And it was a very busy time. Lovely experience and highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing experience at The Grand. The Cabaret and Cabernet evening was fabulous, fantastic singers, musicians and dancers. The meal was delicious too. Our room was lovely, breakfast very good, especially the salmon and eggs with hollandaise sauce. All the staff were professional, friendly and polite. Overall a wonderful stay in an absolutely beautiful hotel.

The Grand Hotel Birmingham truly lives up to its name. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re hit with a mix of historic elegance and modern luxury. The building itself is stunning, especially the grand staircase and ballroom — feels like something out of a movie. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially at reception and in the Madeleine bar. The room was spotless, stylishly decorated, and very quiet despite being right in the city centre. Really appreciated the extra touches like Molton Brown toiletries and the comfy bedding. Breakfast at Isaac’s was excellent — good variety and quality. The cocktail bar was also a highlight, perfect for a classy evening drink. Only small downside is no on-site parking or spa, but the nearby parking garage worked fine and the gym was decent enough. Perfect location, beautiful interiors, and a great sense of atmosphere. Would definitely return — ideal for both a romantic weekend or a stylish city break. Highly recommended if you want something special in Birmingham!

Superb location in the heart of the City, lots of food and bar, entertainment options on the doorstep. Room was very nicely presented with a lovely bathroom and shower. I loved the casting option on the tv so I could watch streaming channels. Breakfast was pretty good. I’ve had better but it serves everything you need and the dining room is beautiful. Didn’t use the bar but looked nice. Staff were good. There’s nothing really to fault here at all.

One of one. Will definitely recommend and stay here again. They do not boast quality but lead with it — every small detail mattered for them. The owners did a great job. Staff are extremely professional and friendly — you can tell they love working there. The quality and ambience extends to the in-house bar. The hotel itself was luxury, surprised that it is not a chain. Location was great, the room itself was well sound proofed, no loud noises waking me up in the middle of the night.

Sent a cake design for my son's first birthday and Rose had created it exactly as requested! Was so happy with the design but it was also delicious! Friends and family enjoyed the cake and said it was lovely!

I ordered a cake for my dekha dekhi. It was amazing and the decoration was so detailed. Not only that, the cake tasted amazing too! so happy about the result. Though, it was hard for me to find where I can get the cake from because I didn't opt for delivery. But it wasn't a big deal as I was so happy with the cake! :)

I was looking for a good cake baker for my daughter's first birthday. I came across this company and given the beautiful cakes and many followers on Instagram I wanted to order here. I paid £100 for a Smash cake. I had sent a photo to see if they could make it. They could, I got a response via whatsapp, but it really wasn't made the same. The covering/decorating was not as I had hoped and completely crooked. Buttercream was too sweet and you could feel granulated sugar in your mouth, plus the cake itself weighed kilos, instead of a sponge, soft and airy cake I got a very thick, dry and hard cake. Even after I left it outside for hours on their advice. I could have made a cake like that myself. I expected something special for that money After I texted them about my dissatisfaction, my dissatisfaction was not taken seriously. And that if that cake is expensive for me, but cheap for someone else. I threw the cake away completely. We didn't even eat a piece of it, because even as a smash cake my daughter couldn't get a piece off with her hands. I am very disappointed and sad! But my satisfaction is about how you performed there! Thirdly: Again, it was not about paying the money for a cake, but about what kind of cake I got for that money! Nobody forced me to order that cake! Absolutely my choice! But certainly not how a cake should be! You never asked during our conversation how we could solve this! I can add it as an attachment! It was not my intention to get the money back! But on his coffin a better cake! I only wanted to place my dissatisfaction for other people! There is a fortunate possibility for that via Google! Over the many years that this place has been open I have always been drawn to it. The smokey atmosphere, chatter and mugs of tea takes me back to many years of working and visiting with work colleagues and apprentices. Sadly some of the old staff members are no longer with us, but the friendly spirit and big portions are very much there alongside the old pin ball machine. Interior wise not a lot has changed at all and it gave me floods of memories. Good honest food at great prices.

Disgusting customer service. Rude. Unapologetic. Waited over an hour for our delivery. No apology. Given the wrong order. Waited another 15 minutes. No apology. Food cold. Never using them again.

Ordered a bacon & egg sandwich with a cup of tea. The tea arrived after 10 minutes. After another 20 minutes no sign of my sandwich. I checked at the counter & was informed my order had been overlooked. I asked for a refund & left. No apology, nobody cared. 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Great breakfast poor customer service, waited over 30mins didn't arrive, served everyone else totally forgot me, excuse was sorry we're really busy, there was only 7 off us in there, took my money back never return again, disappointed 😞

Staff are nice, and food is bang on, the inside look of the cafe could do with a bit of TLC. Prices are fair, toilet is a bit of a disappointment as well tight as ur on airplane ✈️ lol see you soon.

First time visiting and right of the bat, the place looked really clean and cozy. However the girl serving us was so rude and could not be bothered at all. She had a big face from the beginning and every question we asked about the food or menu was too much for her. Even after taking our order, she brought the cutlery out and just slid/threw on the table and walked off. However the food was absolutely incredible!!! The club sandwich was 11/10 and beans on toast that my friend had was also delicious!! Overall, amazing food however the rubbish customer service puts you off coming back.

Been here a few times. It’s a very nice and affordable place to go out with friends in city centre. The foods always been great. The only downside is the long waiting time after being served.

I had some lunch at Impresso today, went for the Alfredo pasta. The pasta was creamy but not too overpowering as the chicken balances it out perfectly. It’s a cute cafe in a more quiet part of town and the decor was on point. Food waiting time was only 10 mins, staff were friendly and looked after you. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Firstly I always walk past to go to work and Always wanted to try!!! I was unimpressed 😒 sorry service was not good at all! Very disappointed ☹️ as I ordered no allergies was asked.. the staff were on the phone my ice caramel latte was absolutely disgusting 🤢 never again, took sooo long!!! Instead of talking and looking on there phones ! They weren’t doing anything the table across there drinks took long!!! Has the girl was making my dinner ice caramel oat latte she was about to put semi skimmed and the guy said oat milk! She laughed! Wasn’t impressed ! What if someone had an allergy ??? My breakfast was lovely that was lovely!!! 🥰 but managers you should be on the floor! No check back while we having my breakfast! When I was about to pay! Lucky I saw the service charge! I was in a rush! The girl asked how was my food! I replied it was ok! But couldn’t talk! I will defo come for breakfast drinks no thank you! I am a massive ice coffee fan!!! But this one totally put me off! The place was is lovely! But workers need to be aware of health and safety! Just pointing out! 😟🙁🫶🏻

I visited Impresso Coffee Lounge which has only recently opened and I was really impressed. The place is beautifully decorated, cosy, and clean and tidy. The manager gave me such a warm welcome and the staff were all genuinely lovely throughout my visit. I had the Desi breakfast, loaded chips, club sandwich and coffee and everything was delicious fresh and really well prepared. Portions were generous and the prices are very reasonable too. I can’t wait to go back again you won’t be disappointed

I visited Impresso for early lunch, if you into brunch then the menu is perfect for you they have dishes from pastas to sandwiches to desserts. Staff are friendly and any questions I asked they answered. I ordered the chicken sadwich with fries and some water. Took about 5 mins for them to put it on the table luckily it wasnt busy at all. The sandwich tasted amazing, the only complaint is I wish they gave more coleslaw. I will definetly be back

As a long-standing regular customer of Impresso Coffee Lounge, I have always appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and consistent quality in the past. However, my recent visit to try the new menu was quite disappointing. The chicken Parmesan was overly oily and lacked the flavour and spice I have come to expect. In addition, the mocktails were served warm and flat, and they arrived much earlier than the meal, which detracted from the overall dining experience. I also noticed that prices have increased noticeably, which might have been acceptable if the quality had matched previous standards. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet expectations, and I left feeling very unsatisfied. Regrettably, based on this experience, I do not think I will be returning.

We were planning our wedding in 2020 and I had already decided to have our wedding cake made by Julez. However, Miss COVID decided to make an appearance, forcing us to shelve our plans. Fast forward to 2025 when we picked up the wedding reins again, and my fiance was driving past and decided to pop in to enquire about making our cake. This was a pure fluke because I hadn't discussed our wedding cake or who it was going to be made by with him, so it was absolutely meant to be. From the moment I met Julez, I felt at complete ease with her. She is so lovely. We discussed the type of cake I had in mind, working closely at every stage of the planning process and any issues she envisaged; she had a solution. She's an absolute genius!!! Not only did Julez create our beautiful cake, but she decorated our wedding venue to perfection, Also, we can't forget Jayne, who was also a joy to work with; she provided the beautiful flowers for the cake, bridal party, button holes, and my bouquet, and the result? A stunning contribution to making our special day truly magical!! If we could physically give more than 5 stars, we absolutely 💯 would because this lovely lady is worth her weight in gold! Cannot recommend Julz enough. I needed a cake for a surprise 70th birthday for my dad and I wanted a replica of their narrow boat. I never expected the cake that we collected. It was perfect, an exact replica with so much detail and care clearly put in. She even added lights to the front! Unreal and everybody at the party including my dad were blown away by it. I am sure all people say their wedding is the best, an we really worked to make sure we had the best. Our researched into wedding cakes pointed at one person to be the best. Julie. We connected with Julie and had so many ideas of what we wanted, turned down several designs and worked close with Julie to design a unique cake which looked amazing. We was worried that we was hard work and Julie never once stopped trying to find the perfect cake design. When ever we had a question or request we had instant response. The cake was delivered when we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. Julie is in high demand, given how good she is but we never felt we was not an important client. The cake looked fantastic and exactly what we asked for, tasted amazing and stayed fresh for over a week after. Julie is highly recommended and if you knew me, and how high my standards are you would know that is a massive compliment. Thank you Julie for being so amazing and producing our amazing wedding cake.

It took us a long journey to get to the location, but it was a journey we willingly took for the amazing food this place provides. The guy behind the counter was extremely nice and friendly on a whole other level, and the food was better than we expected, and our expectations were pretty high so that’s saying something! Would definitely recommend and visit again and again .. we emptied the whole shelves and left maybe 2 pastries left? Sorry! 😅

A friend and I visited on 13/6/24. If you have not been, you are missing out. The best pastries I've had outside of France and definitely the best in Birmingham. Did not disappoint. I had a croissant with raspberries in it and took a couple home as well as a loaf of sourdough to slice & freeze. Perfection 👏🏻

I went on a Saturday and the best bits had gone but the savoury item I bought was really nice! I do think some of their food items are abit overpriced but to be fair the quality is quite good and the food is fresh! The customer service is also good, they know their products.

Best Croissants out side Paris !! The location is cool and cozy and the most important is the croissants is the best in England ! Crunchy out side with warm fluffy inside, great taste of butter and just perfect! Try the Bordeaux version also so light and fluffy! Amazing shop !

Awesome, cooperatively run arts cafe! Great coffee, innovative events (anything from sound installations to poetry readings to board game meets to film screenings). & Vegan cakes. More specifically: vegan Jaffa cake slices :-o Outdoor smoking area. Toilet possibly too small for wheelchair access.

This place has been such a great hub for stirchley. Ever changing great art, a place for groups to meet, classes, performances, and I'm not even started yet on the tasty selection of hot drinks and even beer and wine. There are usually 2 sandwich options on offer starting at noon and they use bread from Loaf. Staff is lovely too. Love this place.

On Saturday night I was graving chips from a traditional Greek Cypriot run takeaway. Attached are photographs of the disgusting, stale chips which I disposed of immediately. The same applies to the somewhat limited offering of curry sauce. Really disappointing waste of £4.50.

Have eaten here plenty of times but yesterday's order was brilliant. Good portion size chips, really fresh alongside the fish. Reasonably priced conpared to others nearby. Would definately recommend

While my mom enjoyed the chicken and mushroom pie, the chips were unfortunately cold. My donner meat and chips, however, were quite tasty. Overall, the meal was mixed.

Eaten from here twice and I always find the service and atmosphere a bit off. They act like customers are there to beg or steal or something- 3 of them behind the counter just watching you! I brought a guy (maybe homeless) a cone of chips and they gave the cone and threw on a load of extra chips and then followed up with my order which was also a cone with about 5 chips - so stingy and weird. Never going back!

Ate from here a good few times on and off for a few months find it hit and miss, used to be half decent but has gone completely down the toilet in my opinion I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt as we can all have an off day and is someone’s business but the last few times I’ve ate here the food has been below average and today was the last time I will be eating from here ordered fish and chips, the fish was definitely old had no flavour and the batter was soft the chips were greasy also had a sausage in batter the sausage was shrivelled up like a prune inside the batter also had a tub of curry sauce which was as thick as wall paper paste the lady had obviously scrapped the bottom of the barrel for it also bought 2 scollops the grease in them was ridiculous. We ate some as I don’t like to waste food but I would say 3 quarters of it went in the bin and we didn’t even have a bite of the scollops absolutely horrendous. The service was not the greatest either very rough lady with zero manners.

Ordered online a donner meat meal and donner burger meal, the food was ok but it isn’t worth £7 something per meal, I’ve had meals that are cheaper and taste a lot better, not my proudest £16.30 spent I’ll be ordering elsewhere next time

Afternoon tea review 🫖 The staff was excellent. They are very professional and will come refill your cup and ask if everything is alright. We also appreciated that they asked for feedback. The atmosphere is beautiful. Great decoration, ideal for a chat. The drinks were great. Definitely recommend their hot chocolate. As for the afternoon tea.. we had their Christmas festive menu. The sandwiches were good. Nothing outstanding but nice. The scones were great but their festive spread had a bitter aftertaste we didn’t like. The desserts were a complete miss for us. We are used to French delicate pastries and those tasted so heavy and unbalanced. We didn’t like the taste of any of them. This may appeal to a British audience but for us, it didn’t work. We also went there for a birthday and even though the staff confirmed the celebration, nothing happened. Overall, I have had better afternoon teas and wouldn’t recommend it unfortunately.

A beautiful bar, with excellent drinks. The service really stood out though. I turned up with my husband and mother in law, and was sure I had made a booking, but I hadn’t! I’m not sure how I had convinced myself I had a booking, but I didn’t. The front of house staff did everything they could to accommodate us despite my error. We were then seated at a beautiful table and had some fabulous cocktails and champagne! Staff are knowledgeable about the menu which is always a bonus. Thanks for a wonderful visit, will definitely be back (with a booking next time!)

Great atmosphere on a Friday night with an excellent jazz singer & musician. Birmingham desperately needs this. Service is impeccable & a fun, relaxed time was had. Can't wait to return !!!

Went for afternoon tea. Catered for my gluten free diet very well. Food was excellent and the waitress was very attentive.

One of our favourite haunts in Birmingham City Centre. Excellent selection of wines and expertly curated spirits. The atmosphere is complimented by the attentive, smartly dressed staff and generally upmarket clientele.

Delicious pastries, terrible sandwiches. Sandwiches were dry as a bone. Turkey in the sandwiches was sliced, packet turkey. Cheese sandwiches were Tesco’s quality. In fact that is a disservice to Tescos. Incredibly expensive. Only one waitress to serve a very large room of people - bless her, she did as best she could, being rushed off her feet. Service almost non existent unless you got up and asked for something. Lovely decor inside - nice Christmas feel. However I came home disappointed. Really not worth it at all.

Walked past and decided to go in and try their cocktail. Ordered an off the menu rum old fashioned. The bar man was experienced and drinks were nicely made. The service staff were also very attentive and regularly kept the water topped up for us. We sat at the bar, which was comfortable and it’s always nice to be able to see the mixologists at work. As an impromptu visit, it was a nice experience.

We'd popped along with the intention of having the Afternoon Tea. Managed to get a table in the corner by the window and waited for about five minutes for it to be cleared and cleaned. Another ten minutes of queuing to be informed that they weren't doing any more. No "I'm terribly sorry" or apologies. Both left in disgust - won't be returning any time soon.

If you’re in The Bull Ring, I can’t heartedly recommend this place enough. When it comes to choice of a quick sandwich, a piece of cake or pastry, along with a drink, I honestly find Druckers a level above its more mainstream competitors. The sandwiches are always of a high quality; compared to the other main players, they rank much higher. Actually edible, and priced appropriately. The one negative thing mentioned in other reviews I do agree with is, general service could do with being improved. It can be a bit hit & miss. It’s a pity there aren’t more of these about though.

Both taste and service were poor. We were three friends. We ordered a double espresso, a latte, and a mocha frappé. All three tasted very poor, which isn't surprising when even the espresso is hardly drinkable. Also my friend had to wait at the till for five long minutes to be able to pay, after we'd been served, as the staff was taking orders from other customers, when the shop wasn't even busy at all.

Thought the place was OK. Despite being busy we got served quickly. Although I had to use some friendly assertiveness to get attention. Staff looked miserable most of the time. The afternoon tea and cakes they did for us were tasty. So no complaints about the food.

Service was extremely poor. Firstly when asked if the cakes are vegetarian, staff don't have a clue. Staff struggle to handle the cakes when serving them on a plate. My cake was squashed with the tongs, it is supposed to be a patisserie which invites people to have a pleasant experience.

A really nice Druckers, has a good view over the centre of the bullring and is a nice fairly calm place to eat in the bullring. It is one of the only places I can go in the bullring for a bit of peace. It's also handily to be located only a minute from the toilets. Great selection of food and the staff here are good too!

A very milky coffee really is not a cappuccino. Perhaps some training in the true art of crafting a proper cappuccino would not go amiss. The prevalence of really frothy milk atop a decent shot of coffee is the absolute minimum standard. No disrespect to the staff, they're only doing what they have been shown.

What a cool professional coffee grinding mill. It has people who know what they are talking about and you can go in as a consumer and they will blend and help you pick the coffee There are classes to learn how to use the 3 barrister machines on site.

Quarter Horse make some of the best coffee in Birmingham, and opening a store so close to my home is a real treat. The coffee is so flavoursome and the utilisation of space is really good. Definitely a good spot for taking your laptop and having a coffee and cake whilst getting some work done.

I ordered coffee beans for home delivery for the first time. A package of 2 flavors as a surprise. The 2 types had the same boring, flat taste with no special aromas and with zero uniqueness and interest in the taste. The coffee was not tasty to me and was very boring and without uniqueness and of course not worth the price

Fantastic barista course for beginners and those taking their interest a little further. NOT a coffee shop, but a wide range of high quality blends and single origin coffees available to order online.

Quarter house in the limited but new roastery space in the heart of JQ. 💔about Bristol st legendary space but silver linings for me at least as it's closer & beings up the standard of local area. Anyway fab space fab coffee and great pasteries....although sadly - and at the time of asking - no amazing cookies! :-( Same amazing and friendly staff so all good. They have a selection of their coffees in the new green packaging and various brewing bits and bobs. There is even a space now for teaching which is something to look out for.

We really enjoyed the coffee tasting experience, Alex was really helpful and knowledgable...me and my girlfriend came away knowing much more about what we like, we will 100% be returning to buy the Brazil Santa Rosa!

Bee's Cake's that she made for my 30th birthday and my wedding were top notch. Communication was perfect. Quality of the cake and flavors were brilliant. Her passion obviously shows through when she showed up to our wedding with a broken leg in a cast and still set it up beautifully.

I had been in touch with a dozen wedding cake specialists to make my wedding cake, but none of them sparked my interest enought to entrust them with my cake until i came across Bryony at Sweet Alchemy Cakes. Bee made the trip across Birmingham to hold a consultation in te comfort of our own home, where we were able to talk about ideas & flavours at great lengths. We ended up going over the allocated time for our consultation, but Bee didnt charge us for going over. Bee sketched out my dreanm cake simply from my descriptions I gave her out of the ideas in my mind and they were translated beautifully into a stunning work of art that is my wedding cake. Each and everyone of of my 450 wedding guests were in awe of the grandeur and detail of my cake. Each tier was unique in style and flavour and the hand piped wedding logo was quite literally the "icing on the cake" Bee bought along a fantastic variety of flavours along to our consultation, that were beautifully presented in a cake box filled with petals, individually wrapped slices & wrapped with a ribbon. We picked a classic victoria sponge, raspberry and coconut and finally salted caramel. Each tier tasted incredible, and there was so much to go around., The quote I received from Sweet Alechemy Cakes was by far the best from every other company I had been in touch with, and it was worth every single penny. If you are reading this review, I highly recommend that you order your cake from Sweet Alchemy Cakes because you will not be dissappointed with the customer service, the flavours, the designs, or anything at all! I had a great experience at the Little Desert Shop in Wednesfield! The staff was friendly and quick, making my visit enjoyable. The selection was excellent, and I found everything I needed easily. Highly recommend this shop for a fast and pleasant experience!

Awful experience. Ordered as a treat through UberEats. Half way through a small child eating his ice-cream with his cookie dough. He coughs up a sharp shard of plastic! After looking through the ice cream we found another piece. Two significantly large and sharp pieces of plastic found ! After trying to call to report the issue they did not answer. The lack of food safety for this to happen is shocking. Very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again! This could have ended so badly luckily it didnt this time.

The Moonwalker Shake is on another level! Creamy, rich, and packed with flavor – it’s the perfect blend of indulgence and refreshment. The texture is smooth, not too heavy, and every sip feels like a treat. Definitely one of the best milkshakes I’ve had in a long time – highly recommend trying it if you want something both fun and delicious.

Nice little dessert shop close to cineworld. Very clean and well maintained. We were served by Pinky who did a fab job. She got our order perfectly right even though we customised our dessert quite a bit! The brownies were fresh and so moist unlike any other branch of LDS I've tried. Would recommend!

I found a wowcher deal for afternoon tea for 2. The service was good, and the staff members were attentive. The presentation of the afternoon tea was really cute! I do think it would've been nice if they gave more variety of desserts as the desserts were quite small. They gave 4 different sandwich flavours , all of which i did enjoy. It also came with a hot drink each, the staff just gave us tea, without allowing us to choose. It would've been better if they gave us an option to pick which hot drink we'd like. But overall it was nice, we did enjoy it.

We went here today after having a brunch. Place was lovely and busy. Even though there were quite a few staff service was a little on the slower side. Luckily we weren’t in any rush and when we did get to speak to staff, they were amazing. Really went out their way for our requests. I ordered a milk cake and whilst it was a very nice cake I expected it to be as other milk cakes and drenched in milk so I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t. Overall a nice experience and I would recommend :)

The interor and the menus are beautiful. We have experienced some problems with service - we waited 1 hour for our order and then didn't get the full order but the owner came to us and apologies personally. That was nice, but he claimed it was super busy when it wasn't. The Kinder Bueno waffle was delicious and the Sundae looked mad. I would not recommend the red velvet cookie dough - it tasted artificial.

Even though I love desserts, I don't often frequent these types of places as usually find them to be devoid of flavour and overtly expensive... however, Pirlo's massively surprised me! Not only was it nice and clean inside, the food didn't take an age to come (despite them apologising when we arrived for being short staffed and advising us of a wait) but most importantly, the food was brilliant! Full, deep waffles, covered in lashings of your chosen toppings and sauce! I was really, really impressed with the quality and will definitely be going back! Plus my other half's vegan waffle was delicious! 🤤🤤❤

Visited as a request for my daughter’s 14th birthday. We were the only people present at8pm, the drinks were slow food was missing along with dessert. Not impressed with the service. Asked for a refund and I’m assuming the boss tried to talk us into coming back as they have a relaunch planned. This didn’t help immediate situation and disappointment. Such a shame and a let down from when we were previously there.

Really cute little coffee shop. Service was brilliant, the staff are so friendly. Comfy and spacious seating available. I tried the truffle bites which were delicious! It's located just outside all the hub of central town so it's a nice and quiet location if you want to take a breather from the business of the town. I am a returning customer and would definitely come here again and definitely recommend!

I've been here quite a few times over the last few years, and the service has always been really good. Went yesterday, and the service, I say, was just average. There was no warm welcome, like on previous occasions. Our food and drinks were put on the table in a rough manner, a few things we wanted, they did not have. The pastries I have to say are really nice, but the breakfast portions have reduced in size.

I saw La Brioche all over TikTok for their trending fruit pastries and had to try them. Luckily, it’s not too far from me so I went to check it out. When I got there, most of them were already gone. They told me they sell out fast — which I get — but honestly, if you know they go quick, why not just make more? I even overheard a couple who had come from pretty far and were disappointed the mango one was already finished. I managed to grab 4 (at £6 each 😬), so it came to £24 — definitely pricey. The fruit ones were good and fresh, and the chocolate one was phenomenal. Taste-wise, no complaints. Are they worth the hype and the price? Probably not. But they are pretty and trendy, so I get why people are lining up for them. Worth trying once, but not something I’d go out of my way for again.

It’s a cute cafe and family run. I do think the cakes need labels as the staff need to repeat themselves per customer which must be annoying. The cakes do need longer to defrost as both were frozen inside. I wasn’t wowed by these two in the pictures as they were quite sweet which isn’t my preference. Loved it 😁 Food was lovely and there's a great selection of desserts too (the strawberry macaron was just the perfect amount of everything!). It was quite filling. We didn't have to wait long for the food and the waiters were nice. Parking might be a little hassle as you'll have to park a little further down on a residential road somewhere but hey ho, more steps I guess.

There is potential, but the cakes had the insert in the middle frozen solid, which makes me think they were rushed for sale and not given enough time to defrost. We had savoury food too, but it was poor. Watery and bland shakshuka, and bombay omelette that had nothing bombay in it, no spices, no herbs, and it was borderline raw. Service was unattentive and it was obvious the staff was not very experienced.

Great spot ! They offer a large range of pastry that look nice and tasty. I've tried the coffee bean one. As a coffee lover it was really a good surprise.👍🏻👌🏻

Had the full English, was ok. Lacked bit of taste. The ferrero milkshake was arguably one of the best I have had, and the fruit cakes are nice too, pretty good flavour in them.

We were looking forward to a brunch at this venue as we discovered it the night before - What a beautiful looking place snuggled perfectly in The Mailbox near Harvey Nichols Food was delicious and presented perfectly (compliments to the chef!) But the attitude and service of the waiting staff is literally the worse I have ever seen! We barely were greeted by the staff and shown to our table and at the end of the meal was presented with the bill and not even a smile for the tip! Would recommend but the staff need to be re trained - they really spoiling what could have been a great morning experience

Nice and quiet location to have brunch with on a Friday morning. Staff were really helpful and informed us that the chicken was halal. In terms of food, I enjoyed the food but have enjoyed more delicious versions elsewhere in the area. However, the cafe is really beautiful and is great if you want to invite someone out for a quick bite. I wanted to visit their stand alone cafe a few minutes away to try the gorgeous baked goods but didn’t find the time. We got the mushroom brioche bun, the harissa scambled eggs on toast, chicken French toast, and the huevos rancheros. We all didn’t enjoy the huevos rancheros much because it had a distinct flavour which we couldn’t pinpoint which I think is authentic but it’s not something we enjoyed. 4 coffees including a mocha which I found to be too sweet and I didn’t enjoy the type of cocoa it used as it tasted like Cadbury and I prefer a dark cocoa. Bill came to £83 which I think is reasonable. We were not charged for service but I don’t know if that is normal for this place or they forgot to add it?

I really like it. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We stopped for lunch on a busy Saturday. The service was slick and the staff were friendly. I had a sausage, bacon and egg brioche roll and my wife had the halloumi and avocado brioche roll. Sometimes brioche tastes too sweet, this was perfect. We'll be back soon I'm sure.

Our second visit here and we just as pleased as our previous visit. Even though the item I requested was sold out the alternative did not disappoint. The atmosphere is great, always busy but also relaxing. Food was very delicious, fresh and well presented. Recommended to family and friends, looking forward to visiting again.

Visited the satellite Medicine bakery in the middle of the Mailbox (2nd level). They have a good variety of pastries and cakes available as well as hot drinks. When we visited the place had only one person working. He was clearly busy and this spilled over towards the customer service which was curt edging towards rude. Coffee was good, cake was good. There were also mince pies (It was Christmas) however the pastry was rock hard making them difficult to enjoy. I have eaten at the main Medicine stores and they are awesome, this satelite, perhaps I was expecting too much. Quick coffee and a cake to take away - good choice. Wanting to sit down and enjoy… Go to the main sites.

Went for brunch today. As we was deciding I had mentioned it was my partners choice of sides as it was his birthday. After we had finished the meal the server came over with a cake and lit a candle as she had overheard me mention a birthday. The food was amazing and the service was great. Definitely recommend and will be back very soon to try something else on the menu. The prices was very reasonable too.

Lovely spot! I stopped by for hot drinks on a freezing day as I was heading for dinner later, so I didn’t try the pastries or food. I had a hot chocolate, and it was enjoyable. The place has a nice aesthetic, and I would definitely go again. Overall, I had a good time

combo in my picture is the bubble waffle berry one but i swapped the strawberry sauce for chocolate instead. i love this place for their cakes, little bakery section ( try the cream filled buns and the pandan cake ). bubble tea is also sooo nice here too. cant lie this bubble waffle was expensive (nearly £8) but i got it because it was my first time trying one and it was soooo nice

Absolutely love this place. I'm a bit of a dessert freak and love to indulge my sweet tooth. The buns are the best in Birmingham (imo) and the cakes are just incredible! Staff are friendly and welcoming, only negative is when they are busy or theirs some anime/manga fans in the cafe as this turns your experience into a negative one.

We ordered some birthday cupcakes for our daughter’s birthday which were absolutely gorgeous. The colours just what we wanted. The taste and texture were amazing. Along side I ordered the gorgeous Christmas cupcakes for my husband. Just outstanding the presentation was amazing. I’ll be back again in February,March. Thank you again. Pat x

Chitty’s Cakes Limited did our wedding cake in Nov 2024 Jules is so lovely and very professional We met her partner at a wedding showcase and we then met Jules at her home to go through plans for the cake It turned out perfect and she even made our dog as a special request Jules even matched the flowers on our cake to our flowers/bouquets the day! She delivered the cake to the venue on the day, which made the whole process stress free I would 100% recommend Jules and Chitty Cakes Thank you so much!

I ordered a 60th Birthday cake from Chitty’s Cakes, it was so easy to place an order. I sent Julie pictures of how I wanted the cake to look, and she went above and beyond. The cake was even better than I imagined it to be, and it tasted incredible too! Overall an absolutely incredible cake, was a lovely surprise for my dad who was amazed! I highly recommend!!

Jules made the most beautiful, scrumptious wedding cake for us. We told Jules what we would like and nothing was too much trouble. When we were looking at wedding cakes, we struggled initially as I have coeliac disease. I was going to give up and just have a little supermarket cake for myself when we found Jules. She was able to make me a delicious raspberry gluten free cake, and lots of cupcakes to go with it. By the end of the evening, we had no cupcakes left and most of the top tier cake was gone! People told me they didn't even realise it was gluten free. Everybody also said how delicious the cupcakes were. Neither me nor any of our other gluten free guests had any reaction too, so I would definitely recommend Jules to others who dietary needs.

If I could give you more than 5 ⭐️ then I would!! We recently used Chitty’s cakes for our wedding on 4th May 2024 @ Edgbaston Park Hotel. We talked at length with Julie and chose the perfect cake to match our colour scheme. Very reasonably priced too! All our family/ friends guests absolutely loved it!! We opted for a 3 tier to include salted caramel on the base, red velvet in the middle and chocolate on the top It was delicious!! 😋 There was hardly any left!! The beautiful favours were stunning too. Thank you so much. Julie was amazing! She went above and beyond my expectations for my baby shower cake! I showed her the backdrop layout and theme and she suprised me with the end product! Not only the design was amazing, the cake tasted sooo good!! Even though I was nervous as I went by her reviews and wanted an eggless cake. Evetyobe at the baby shower loved taste and asked me where I got it from! I will definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you so much!!

Excellent service from these brothers. Ordered a chicken tikka panini and 1 tuna panini with mayo. And 1 double choc cookie. I was extremely happy how the food tasted. Cookies were so fresh and panini’s were extremely tasty! The lad at the counter was very informative about the menu when I asked what was in the tuna panini. They seemed very relaxed and chilled. Deffo coming here again. Also just came to visit 18/09/24 - coffee is amazing. Asked brother to give me in bigger cup because I like my coffee to cool down he ended up giving me extra which I did not ask for.! Amazing service!

Still a great place, the staff are super friendly, cannot fault this place. As always, a great vibe at this place, friendly staff, can't fault it. Previous review: Great atmosphere, great place to chill out and relax, very friendly customer base. A nice chill out and catch-up place. Hopefully the upstairs opens soon (sooner than the downstairs did at least) just try their chai latte, or mint tea and you'll be back again. Only thing I'd ask is for consistency when making drinks across all the staff, as some make it and add way too much milk and it just doesn't taste like anything other than warm milk. Was told whilst trying to make a Phone order “I need to fix my voice?” Im sure he meant my signal but the tone and the fact that he did not repeat my order after made my experience unpleasant to say the least. Your a corner stone of the community and have had a-lot of success (MA) but do not deal with the people unjustly!

The best café for coffee, mint tea, green tea, pastry and an array of chocolate and cake assortments. The newly refurbished store is stunning with a modern and upscale decor. It's great for dining in, inside or outdoors, and very comfortable. The customer service is great, the hygiene and cleanliness is excellent. The staff are friendly and very skilled in making both hot and cold pressed drinks. It is wheelchair accessible, including seating. However, parking is very limited on the side roads and main roads.

This place was a recommendation. Went for brunch. The Arabian breakfast was really tasty. Mint tea was very different to the normal one. It had a very strong taste of cardamom so if cardamom isn't your thing then I wouldn't recommend it. Will definitely be visiting again.

First visit & honestly the Arabic tea that was recommended by a staff member, was really nice. Will definitely be coming back for some more. We were also given a complimentary coffee which was so nice too. Breakfast was great and the beef panini we tried was delicious. Will definitely visit again when in Birmingham. Ordered a cake for my son 18th birthday. Got to the restaurant to only find ants in the cake. Obviously to the shock none of us thought to take pictures. Returned the cake the next day, staff were rude and tried to take the blame away from themself. I would give 0star if I could. It’s been 3 days and the manager hasn’t called back yet. I will never get my son’s birthday celebration back but I have no intentions of letting this go and will report this to the food standards. I suggest anyone with bad experience to do the same and I will request a refund from my bank.as they refused

Ordered 4 cake slices and all 4 cakes were old. Most likely was left out a few days. Biscuits were stale. Normally its light. Shop wasn’t no help said can’t do anything. Wouldn’t recommend this branch!!!!

This is an amazing shop to buy cakes for your special occasions – the cakes are absolutely scrumptious! I’ve seen a few comments mentioning parking tickets, but as regular customers, we’ve never had any issues. If someone parks carelessly or in the wrong spot, it’s only natural that a ticket might be issued – and in that case, it’s our own responsibility. It’s not fair to blame the shop for mistakes that are outside their control.
