Pub
Restaurant
The Malt House is a spacious pub located alongside the canal, offering a canalside terrace and balcony where visitors can enjoy real ales and hearty British cuisine. The pub has an inviting ambiance and attracts both locals and tourists. It features a rooftop terrace adorned with fairy lights, providing enchanting views of Birmingham's waterfront. Originally rooted in the malting business, the building has been transformed into a charming spot for patrons to savor drinks and food.
Popped in here whilst visiting the arena for a Drake gig. Was able to get a table and order via the app. Drinks and food came quickly and was really tasty. Atmosphere was great and the the staff were friendly too. Would definitely come back if in the area.

Awesome location and the best so far in Birmingham for a drink or dine. The view of canal from here is beautiful and definitely will be amazing in summer. It’s a Green King pub. Choice of local beers as well as other breweries of UK. Staff were friendly. Service was good. Veggie options in dine. Very nice and cool atmosphere. Didn’t realised they have balcony until i was out. Next time i’lll be there for the best view.
Win T — Google review
Stopped in The Malt House for dinner due to it's convenience. We waited for a little bit before we found that we had to scan the QR code to order. While this made the ordering fairly easy, it prevented us from being able to ask a waiter/waitress about the foods and drinks. It also made it a little painful when we wanted to add another drink. Outside of those challenges it was a nice place and the steak and ale pie was excellent. Now that I know the ordering process, I would go there again.
Joe B — Google review
Had some drinks here with family, this was about 8.30pm just before an event kicked out at the arena so it was quite inside we asked for a few beers and 2 coffees and was informed that the coffee is now shut off for the day. The girl that served us was not a very good front of house smiling person at all looked like she did not what to be here. The pub it self is very nice and lots of seating, its located next to the canal which is also nice and has a good beer garden. The major let down for me was the heavy smell of cannabis that flowed in from the outside area which made you feel sick and as we had a 9 year old with with us we did not stop much longer as by this time the munchies had set in.
Mark P — Google review
Friendly warm welcoming this applies to decor seating and staff also if you smoke the outside space with heating and views of canals inviting with speakered music well done MALT HOUSE.
Dave S — Google review
Food was nice, the restaurant was very nice, cozy indoor and outdoor but the service was terrible that let somebody cut in line and another staff said not serving at the moment 👎 used to be a big fan but now no more.

First visited when Bill Clinton was in town. Last visit was a quite midweek drink. Good service and location. We didn’t eat but enjoyed the visit.
Andrew B — Google review
Firstly, the service was excellent, cannot fault the service team. Helpful, polite and accommodating. Drinks, good quality. Food.....hmmmm. not worth the money. £17.25 for fish and chips. You get 10 (counted) mismatched in size chips (definitely not chunky) had a added curry sauce for a whopping £1.75, the saltiest thing in the world, just horrible. The sticky toffee pudding & custard at £7.25 was revolting! Just mouthfuls of sugar, if you didn't have diabetes before this dish you would after eating it, I couldn't finish it it was that vile. Great place for a drink and a shouty chat, but not for food, not fir the price or quality.

The Button Factory, situated in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, is a renovated Victorian factory that now serves as a contemporary venue offering an array of experiences. The warehouse-style restaurant boasts plush dark brown leather seating and distressed wooden floors, providing a trendy setting for patrons to enjoy coffees and robata grills.
The OG Birmingham bottomless brunch spot, wonderful Sunday dinners and lively events. This is a top spot for a whole variety of experiences. Staff are nice, food is delicious and any events they run are always well organised and guarantee you a great time. Save to your faves because if it ain’t already, it soon will be!

Very delicious food Had lovely lamb koftas, with pickles and a flatbread. The green chilli shakshuka was delicious. Brioche french toast with cinnamon butter was moist and tasty. The customer service was excellent, Arr on was fantastic and served us well. Definitely will come back again xx

Outstanding food. Simply outstanding. Great service. Lovely decor and a huge roof terrace on a baking hot day only slightly ruined by external factors of looking at building when it’s more deserving of looking over lakes, rivers or countryside.

I recently visited a charming coffee bar in Birmingham and was blown away by its unique, classic design. The ambiance is cozy, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that makes you feel right at home. The music is perfectly curated, adding a relaxing vibe to the whole experience. Plus, the frappes are absolutely delicious and definitely worth a try. Overall, a wonderful spot for coffee lovers

Popped in as we were passing, stayed for 3 hours. What a vibe, what a great friendly place, the atmosphere was top notch. Music was varied, Saturday was BANDEOKE - a kind of live band/karaoke night and outside too. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT TIME - highly recommend, did not eat though the food did look good

Great building with superb outdoor area to drink. Didn’t eat so didn’t rate the food. The service was nice and efficient. They did have Jubel peach lager which I love and also wild turkey. Unfortunately I was there during the afternoon so lacked atmosphere. But looks like it would be better in the evenings and weekend. But would recommend to all for a lovely drink.

The best sunday weve had in a while. A few weeks ago, I organised over instagram with TBF a group of 23 of us for sunday Roasts. They were able to assist me booking and sent over a pre-order link, all we had to do was turn up. We had our own section by the kitchen and we couldn't fault a thing. Every one of us loved the food and the atmosphere, I think our main server was Joe and he was brilliant. Attention to detail with the allergies, no notes were missed off the pre-booking form, we were all also able to pay individually at the bar. (Family friends were from Ireland so had to do it that way due to their online banking). Our mains were already being started within an hour of us being there so we all ate in very good time (worked amazingly well for the kids!) meaning we had a good couple of hours to socialise with our friends before getting the last train home at 5.30. Ive been here a few times before but our friends hadn't and they said it was the best end to their weekend with us, cant thank you enough and I'll definitely be back with the other half for a more chilled 1-1 roast next time 😂💖

Nestled on the 25th floor of the iconic Cube building, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill Birmingham offers a delightful blend of modern comfort food and stunning panoramic views of the city skyline. This chic eatery is perfect for those looking to indulge in a luxurious dining experience. The menu features an array of delectable options, including traditional Afternoon Tea served daily from noon until 5 PM.
I celebrated my 24th birthday at Marco Pierre White recently and I loved everything!! I ordered the sirloin steak (225g), it comes with chips but you can swap it for fries. I've got the peppercorn sauce, as well as mac and cheese and shared calamari with my friend. Food was great, the service was great and the restaurant is just beautiful, with elegant designs and so many nice places for pictures, not to mention the amazing rooftop views. They allow you to bring your own cake which is amazing, because some restaurants don't. They also brought me a nice little "Happy 24th birthday" plate at the end. Overall was a 10/10 experience and I will definitely go again ☺️
Adina S — Google review
Would not return nor would I recommend, there are better rooftop restaurants that provide a nice view for the same price with much better food (Orelle is an example which is only a 15 minutes walk from this restaurant) Atmosphere: Rooftop restaurant, atmosphere is nice and good songs played throughout the dinner. View is pleasant but charged £5 per person for a window seat (came to an extra £10). There is a bar section that plays different songs but this does not interfere with the dining area, seems to be quite lively with people even dancing. There is a smoking area that provides an amazing view too. Food: Halal steaks are available if you require this but it is only the fillets. Do not order the calamari below, it is extremely chewy, the batter is stale, the sauce has a weird test (I would rate this 0/10). Steaks are nicely cooked and the peppercorn sauce is good too, mushrooms had a bitter taste, spinach is okay but not reasoned well. Ordered a side of chips and onion rings to share, onion rings are huge and I ordinarily like this style but they were extremely oily, to the point it becomes uncomfortable to eat. Chips were thick cut but also very oily, I would not recommend either of the sides. The only nice thing ordered was the steak. Service: Service was professional but we had to call someone over to order which usually does not happen as waiters come over. We also had to wait a while to pay once the bill was received. Other than that the waiters were very nice.

I had a fantastic meal recently and the service was exceptional. The crispy calamari with tartar sauce was delicious, and the fillet steak was cooked to perfection. Although I wasn’t offered a second drink during the meal, the atmosphere was still enjoyable. Just a heads up, it would be great if the voucher details were clearer when booking! Overall, a lovely dining experience and I’d definitely recommend it.

I just had the best night out! The food was top-notch, especially the fillet steak – cooked perfectly and just so tender. Our server Alex was a star, making everything special and memorable. The atmosphere was lively, the drinks were kept topped up, and the cleanliness was spot-on. Can’t wait to come back for another great experience!
Tracy R — Google review
I had a lovely afternoon out! The food was delicious, especially the liver pâté which was outstanding. Our drinks were regularly topped up during the bottomless brunch, and the service was spot on thanks to a brilliant waitress, even though I didn't catch her name. The atmosphere was great, but there were a few cleanliness issues in the toilets. Despite that, I'll definitely be back!
Laura M — Google review
We had a voucher for afternoon tea. Lovely atmosphere, paid £5 extra for seat by the window for the view. Staff are very friendly and we were served quickly. Scone was delicious (1 jam between 2) but everything else pretty average. Grateful for the voucher but wouldn’t come again.
Anna B — Google review
We had a delicious 3 course dinner and a great breakfast in the morning. All food was perfectly cooked and served to high standard. Staff was attentive and atmosphere was lively and fun!
Celia R — Google review
I have to say based on the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant I was a little let down. The food was sub-par and although the waitress was a wonderful sweet young woman she clearly was new and was thrown into the deep end without any real training, not her fault at all. The cutlery had to be exchanged because of a dirty set that was on the table and the glasses had spots on them. The staff and the atmosphere was the highlight of the outing and to be fair for around 50 pounds/person (Including wine) the steak deal was not terrible. However, my sirloin had quite a bit more fat than I would have liked. We went for a friend’s birthday and the tiny corner sliver of brownie (which was comped) was laughable. We decided to get another bottle of wine and enjoy the sunset on the terrace which did provide fantastic 360 views.

Bar
Located in the lively heart of Birmingham, The Wellington is a charming pub that seamlessly blends traditional British allure with the spirited ambiance of a rugby match. Upon entering, guests are greeted by an eclectic mix of decor, from beer mats adorning the walls to a diverse collection of vintage beer pumps. This establishment offers an array of hand-pulled real ales and ciders, including locally beloved Black Country ale and their own craft brews.
Excellent traditional pub with extensive range of ales, ciders and whiskeys. No food served here just pub snacks. Customers are allowed to take in their own food or order in takeout. Plates and cutlery supplied by the bar. Highly recommend a visit here.

A lovely city centre pub, at the top of Bennet's Hill, full of old world ambience and atmosphere. Lots of quality real ales, IPA's and Ciders. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Nice and clean and accessible. Can't comment on food as didn't eat here, but enjoyed a few hours with my daughter sipping and chatting. Will definitely visit again again!

We came to Birmingham for the weekend to see the Black Sabbath bridge and bench where they had tributes to Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Also the Birmingham museum to see the Ozzy exhibition. Afterwards we stopped in to The Wellington for a few drinks. A huge selection of beers and the service was great. We met some people there that were visiting for the same reason. We had a great time with them and really enjoyed our time at the pub. I would recommend a visit here while in Birmingham.

Met a friend I’d not seen for many years. Decided to meet here as we had worked across the road in the old Midland Bsnk ( yes that long ago). The Black Country pub group are doing a fantastic job in these pubs. Great selection of beers and ciders. Nice atmosphere and a good price for the beer. Even sell old style cobs.we had a great afternoon.

This was our "local" while visiting Birmingham for 11 days. Great selection of beers on cask. No food but plenty of food options nearby.

The carvery was enjoyable and I will return. The only thing I noticed missing was stuffing unless they ran out the evening I was there.
Heather W — Google review
Beautiful traditional pub in Birmingham city centre stocked with a huge range of cask beers. Part of the Black Country Ales franchise, the excellent landlord, Nigel knows how to keep a beer, and has recently introduced a selection of cobs for customers who choose not to bring in their own food! A choice of bars and an outdoor seating area, plus lovely friendly staff make the Wellington a must for anyone visiting the city.
Chris W — Google review
Our favourite pub in Birmingham. Has a fantastic selection of real ales and the added bonus of a couple of friendly cats roaming around the pub! We mainly go each week to see the cats, but the beer is also fantastic and atmosphere is very friendly with very welcoming staff.

Bar
Henman & Cooper, a rooftop bar that opened in 2019, has quickly become a favorite spot in the city. Named after the architects of the building, it offers a two-tier cocktail bar with a stunning rooftop terrace providing views of the city center and business district. The venue hosts Sky High Saturdays with resident DJ sets for those seeking lively entertainment.
I've been here a couple of times once for cocktails and the second for a night out. Both times were lovely, they have a good choice of cocktails during the day which you can take up to the roof top and sip on. I'd also like to add that the architecture within the building is breathtaking and unexpected with loads of detail on the walls if you opt to climbs the stairs as opposed to taking the lift. If your looking for a decent night out I'd recommend visiting. It is a fiver for entry and there a three floors (including the roof top) which play a mix of different genres ranging from garage, rnb etc. There a decent selection of drinks which are reasonably priced and the vibes were nice.
Exhale M — Google review
Great little cocktail bar/pub. Great drinks and love the fact they have a long happy hour on beers and cocktails. Nice place. Quiet and contemporary. Great for a few drinks before carrying on.
Naz N — Google review
Unfortunately, I can’t give zero stars to reflect the extremely disappointing experience I had at Henman and Cooper last night. One of our group was unfairly treated and this resulted in the whole party being refused service at the bar, with staff claiming she was “too drunk” simply because she was dancing and moving her arms?! She was completely coherent and not too drunk at all. It felt like she was profiled for how she looks and the way we were treated carried clear homophobic undertones. The incident left my friends in tears. I’ve since checked this establishment’s social media and seen them advertising support for LGBTQ+ events and their involvement in Birmingham Pride, which makes this behaviour even more bizarre and shocking - not to mention completely contradictory to the image they promote online. I would strongly suggest that management review the CCTV footage from last night and look for this moment my friend was supposedly “flailing her arms too much” - I have never heard such nonsense regarding a customers dancing and it felt like nothing more than a pathetic excuse to get her to leave the venue. I have videos on my phone from throughout the evening showing multiple other customers dancing in exactly the same way — yet they weren’t singled out or refused service. The staff here URGENTLY need proper diversity and inclusion training to understand the impact of their actions. I won’t be returning and I would advise others to avoid this bar as you’re likely to face the same discriminatory behaviour. Apparently they do not endorse having fun and dancing (despite employing a DJ), so if you’re looking for somewhere to let your hair down in peace… AVOID. There are far more inclusive and welcoming venues in Birmingham that actually respect their customers – I’d suggest supporting those instead.
Ness V — Google review
I came here on a very warm Saturday afternoon with 6 girl friends for one of their birthdays. I was singled out as the only man in the group and refused entry on the basis that I was wearing 1) Shorts, 2)A bum bag across my chest 3) A baseball cap ATTACHED to the said bag. Apparently this was regarded (in their words, not mine) as a 'triple threat'!!????!! I honestly thought the bouncers were joking as it all sounded quite ridiculous, I said it was a hot day and they were free to check my bag as all it had was my phone and sunglasses in it, but I could tell from their faces that they were in fact, dead serious! I told them this was ridiculous, the girls in my group were dressed far more casually than me and some had huge rucksacks with them!? Any venue who has such unwelcoming and quite frankly absurd reasons for denying entry certainly doesn't deserve our custom, and I'm quite happy they missed out on the hundreds of pounds we were planning to spend here during the evening. From reading other reviews clearly this is a common occurrence. Management need to urgently address such callous discrimination. I'm certainly never planning to return here nor is any of my party, the impact of your staff's actions have far reaching impacts and reputational damage. I proudly support Birmingham's Independent scene but until your door staff attitudes change, there's plenty of other welcoming and relaxed bars in the city to spend our money and actually enjoy a great night out!
Johnathan S — Google review
Great little rooftop bar. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Was quite busy at 3.30pm on Friday afternoon, but a few tables still available. Great prices during Happy hour.
Tammy P — Google review
Decent place to drop in. Rooftop bar so on this particular date was packed given the sunshine. DJ dropped a decent set. In terms of drinks, easier to go to one of the lower floors. Can't fault the vibe 🕺
Gregory U — Google review
There were 2 bars on higher floors that required a £5 entry fee. The first bar had a weird smell of old mop water, poo and body odour. I had ordered a vodka and diet coke which tasted really sharp, after one sip I left it, possibly the vodka was a cheap brand hence the nasty after taste. I preferred the music at this bar but they were "almost hits" and the DJ had questionable mixing skills. The roof top bar was packed and whilst everyone moved to allow passage, it felt non exclusive, common and poorly designed. The music up here had an Ibizia feel but was severely let down by the surroundings. If you enjoy standing in a cramped environment whilst people walk past, listening to mediocre music this is the place for you.
Katherine B — Google review
Shoutout to Ben and Kieran on the rooftop bar, they are a great team and bring the vibes! Have been here a couple of Saturday nights and although the bar is always busy, service is quick and efficient, they are a credit to the venue. Thanks guys for your professionalism and friendliness, makes a night here so much more enjoyable.

The staff are always very pleasant and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Attentive but not annoying, asking about drinks at the right time. You get two hours for a bottomless brunch instead of the usual 90 minutes. The atmosphere is great, everyone is having fun. The staff are very gracious when your time has ended when they ask you to move on. As always the Pitch and Piano is avery enjoyable experience.

Throughout the summer months, guests can revel in exciting parties featuring local DJs, tribute acts, and special freshers nights.
Been here only once before it was changed to XOYO, Birmingham. And it was none other than a Chase & Status Rave. Probably the best rave of my life till date. Really it was amazing and its been more than a year since then, but I still remember it like yesterday. Rest the venue is still going good, hosts raves and concerts occasionally. Pretty sick warehouse. Recommended!

Nestled on the fourth floor of the Park Regis Hotel, 1565 Bar & Terrace is a sophisticated and well-lit restaurant and bar offering an impressive selection of creative cocktails. Whether you're soaking up the sun or staying warm by the terrace heaters in the evening, this outdoor space provides stunning views of Birmingham. This rooftop oasis in the vibrant city center offers more than just a meal; it's a lively experience showcasing Birmingham's finest hospitality.
Stayed at the hotel about 6 months ago and had the pleasure of eating at the restaurant which was amazing. The food was top quality, well seasoned with some amazing flavours. We're staying again and I was surprised to see the 2 star reviews so felt compelled to write one.

I had the afternoon Tea here , very clean and nice quiet place to eat , afternoon tea was good , wish it had more savoury than sweet but that's just my preference
Danny W — Google review
Let’s start at the beginning. This open-air bar does not have one of the great views our planet has to offer. It does not peer over Paris, skim the skyline of Manhattan, or loom above a turquoise archipelago like some Bond villain’s lair-slash-infinity pool in the Maldives. It does not twinkle with the lights of Tokyo or frame a sunset over the Serengeti. No, this bar overlooks Birmingham. Not the quaint, canal-threaded, Cadbury-scented bits of Brum that brochures trot out when they’re trying to pass it off as a sort of midlands Milan. No. The view from the 1565 Bar and Terrace is resolutely, defiantly, unmistakably Birmingham. Concrete and cranes. A hint of the Bullring. Maybe the ghost of Ozzy Osbourne drifting past in vape mist. But here’s the thing. It doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is. And what it is, is a really quite nice bar. Perched on the 4th floor of the Regis Hotel (yes, I know, 4th floor – not exactly the penthouse, but it’ll do), this place is a sort of plush purgatory between corporate necessity and genuine charm. The inside bar is vast, blanketed in those big, wipe-clean tables that scream “expense account lunch” and upholstered chairs engineered for half-hour Zoom calls with Zurich. You know the sort of place. Businessmen doing business stuff. Lots of laptop tapping and murmured acronyms. But then you get to the staff – and here comes the twist in the tale. They’re… nice. Not in the robotic, smile-trained, please-fill-out-our-feedback-survey way of most hotel bars. No, they’re actually friendly. Efficient. Human. They care whether your martini is shaken properly or if your wine is cold enough not to induce rage. And that, in a hotel bar, is rarer than a Birmingham skyline without scaffolding. And the real kicker – the outside terrace. It catches the sun, you see. Not for a fleeting moment, not a single apologetic shaft of warmth that vanishes behind cloud like a hungover intern. But properly catches it. Long enough for a G&T, maybe two. It’s big, it’s breezy, and if you squint – no, not quite – but almost, you could be in a different city. One with better PR. But who needs Santorini when you’ve got this? Solid drinks. Warm service. A rooftop that doesn’t take itself too seriously. And a view that, while not beautiful, is at least honest. Which, frankly, makes a nice change. Go on. Raise a glass to Birmingham. Stranger things have happened.

***** update***** recieved a call and email from Food and Beverage Manager Tejasvi to offer a 25% discount for the next visit, did not accept, another email follow up from Tejasvi, to offer the full amount as a voucher for the next visit, when stating specific times we would like a booking he decides to book it for a completely different time but not to inform us. When chasing up to confirm the actual time we requested no email response from him at all. Would have preferred not to be emailed or called at all. Certain people in management should simply find a job role that's more suited to them. ******* Review - 1 star because i couldn’t choose zero. Actually couldn’t believe how disappointed i was after dining here. food - flavourless. prices - not worth what you’re eating... customer service - the waiter took his sweet time to order... then got there, took the order for one person at the table then darted off before having to call him back to take the rest of the order... drinks - way too strong and not tasteful at all. avoid the starters... smallest, tasteless portions, pulled from the fridge, heated for 0.1 seconds in a microwave and to top it all off... slapped with a £10 service charge. Do not recommend. Don’t be fooled by the boujee interior of the hotel.

5/5 for bar area once you are inside.. but the car park is a complete disaster, the entrance is odd and tight and has not been designed properly, the barrier will open and hit your car so be ready to reverse once you take a ticket, the carpark spaces are tight and impossible for a larger car or suv..this car park is designed for vw ups! And fiat 500s, the signage to the hotel bar is non existent anywhere in the car park or lifts... hence 4/5. The open carpark before this structure was built was better... also the hotel has failed to reopen the rooftop bar which is astonishing.. to think in a city like bham...there is still only 1 place with a proper rooftop bar now....

The Church Pub & Dining Room, located in the vibrant district of Birmingham, is a traditional Victorian pub with a rich history and modern flair. Its unique rooftop terrace offers an exceptional dining and relaxation experience. The kitchen is led by talented chefs from renowned fine dining restaurants in Birmingham, infusing traditional pub food with their own creative touch. This unassuming gem surprises visitors with its cozy atmosphere and attentive staff, making it a delightful find in the bustling city.
Popped in for a couple of pints, there was a nice selection of beers and a very impressive selection of soft drinks on draught. Barman was sound, friendly service. Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat here. Was told of the happy hour with 2 for 1 on cocktails but as I was with my kid, I declined it this time! Sat on the rooftop terrace which was a lovely setting to have a drink in. This was the first pub I ever had a drink in, back in 1997. It's definitely changed a lot for the better since then, a reflection of how the surrounding area has also become something different to back then.

The overall experience was satisfying enough. The scotch egg crumb could do with reviewing… first time up on the impressive terrace, looking forward to seeing how this experience can be improved in the future. The two of us agreed the harissa needed punching up quite a notch, otherwise inoffensively nice- but not quite the showstopper as it appears on the menu. I guess it would generally appeal to a wider audience. A bit of a wait, but enjoying passing the time at a leisurely rate. We had qr code issues, not the best time when hungry & thirsty. The best gin martini had to date!! ⭐️

So good to find an Everards Brewery pub in town with well kept, reasonably priced cask ale. There looks to be some fantastic, left-field bar snacks available if you’re here primarily to drink. Friendly, informative and efficient bar staff on hand surely have contributed to this pub being to the 2025 Good Beer Guide.

**Review of The Church Pub** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic time at The Church Pub! Though there was a small mishap with our meal, the team handled it brilliantly and made sure everything was put right great customer service! A huge shout-out to Hallie, who was an amazing barmaid friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Jordan was also fantastic, ensuring we had a great experience throughout. We originally just popped in for food, but the atmosphere was so lovely that we ended up staying for four hours! Will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend! **5/5 – A brilliant pub with a fantastic team!** 🍻

What a meal! Simply stunning food. The Church should be sold out every day such is the quality of the food here, I can't believe it wasn't busier. Everything we had was superb, but the beef Sunday roast was one of the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time. We were very greedy and shared three starters too, which were all delicious but probably a bit too much food in total for just the two of us. Nevermind, nothing went to waste! My only criticism was the toasted sourdough was a bit crispy, and I'd have loved the scotch egg to have a runny yolk. But these are minor points in an otherwise perfect meal with faultless service from the great staff.

The Bureau Bar in Birmingham is a chic and elegant establishment with a modern, airy ambiance. Its marble interiors and tall bar exude a sophisticated 1960s charm, reminiscent of the stylish settings seen in Mad Men. The venue offers a rooftop terrace, perfect for enjoying drinks and sharing plates. It's an ideal spot to savor a Langleys No 8 gin, which is locally distilled on the outskirts of Birmingham.
Smart city centre bar with an inside bar plus a nice rooftop terrace area. I've only been on the terrace but walking past the bar, it looked nice and cosy, was full so clearly popular. The terrace has a limited but good range of drinks, a few beers, spirits and wines. There are seats and tables plus a couple of cosy little capsules for groups, you'd get 8 to 10 people in them I'd guess. For the colder days there is heating too. The staff were friendly and helpful. Been a few times and will definitely go back again

I celebrated my birthday with a lovely lunch at Sky Bar, and wow—the experience was absolutely incredible! From the moment I arrived, everything was just perfect. The service was exceptional, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and making sure everything was just right. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, while the drinks were equally impressive. What truly stood out was the atmosphere—it had the perfect balance of elegance and relaxation, making it an ideal spot for a special occasion. A friend and I stayed overnight at the hotel and decided on a last minute trip to the restaurant, and needless to say it was a great decision. We were met with great service and our server, Sangeeta, was exceptional. The food quality was great (we were especially raving about the grilled broccoli!) and was overall a great experience. Definitely looking forward to our next visit!

A very disappointing experience for my brother's birthday yesterday. There were 7 of us that came for a meal and some of us had travelled from Northampton just to visit this place. The food we received was not good quality at all, for the prices that they charge. We ordered a mixture of starters, mains and sides and nothing was good. The food was bland the worst of it being the "pan seared prawns", which literally tasted like they had just been defrosted in the microwave. No seasoning and no colour on them at all, they had definitely not been anywhere near a pan. I sent them back and asked for them to be cooked with some butter and garlic, some kind of seasoning. They returned them a few minutes after with what seemed like some oil drizzled over them and some black pepper on top. So disappointed I could not eat them. The rice that comes with the meals is microwave rice and was still clumpy. Also the fish taco starter, don't bother ordering that. I've never seen a piece of fish so thin. Even a birds eye cod fillet has more fish in it, sent back. You are basically paying for the batter. It was obvious that the ribs had just come out of a bag and the Korean chicken was completely bland. My brother sent that back and asked for a burger instead and then the burger was not great either and had way too much cheese. By the time my brother did receive his burger the rest of us had all finished eating and our dirty plates were still on the table, I had to ask for the table to be cleaned. The meal was just terrible all around. I had to complain as this had completely ruined my brother's birthday. We were offered a round of drinks that took around 25 minutes to come and then had a small discount off the bill. Still ended up being charged over £150 for this appalling food and service. I would say the food here is the same standard as a Wetherspoons. Even TGI's or Harvester is much better and that says a lot. I would only recommend this restaurant for somewhere to come for drinks as the cocktails were delicious and to take pictures as the decor is beautiful.

2nd time here (1st experience not great as seated inside corner where AC directions on our side with no view request to be moved but says all reserved areas cannot accommodate x4 even plenty of empty tables available till end of our lunch) on Friday visit Lady staff allowed us to seat in the bar to have meal so we can enjoy the view but found out table has not cleared with previous dinner plates lying around even 2 guys hanging in the bar just chatting when approached the guy seemed not nice just took the dirty dishes and not bothered to wipe the table. Don’t want to ruin the family celebration day so we just get on and enjoy the food (btw food were delicious served after 20minutes and still cutlery not provided ahead of time even they know you’re there for lunch)

Well firstly, thanks to you all for your swift service. Thank you to Lucy as well for her service and for looking after us. The food was great from starter to dessert. The presentations were a 10/10 and the food was full of flavour. The only thing that wasn’t good was the lamb from the kebab dish for the main course, but that is neither here nor there, but you replaced it swiftly with a chicken skewer, so thank you and we all appreciate for all you did for us today. The music was amazing, I was singing along to it so we were all comfortable. Thanks again and I do recommend this restaurant to others. But the main thing is I would love to come again!

While staying at the Genting Hotel, I had breakfast at the Sky Bar & Restaurant. The open buffet had all the English breakfast staples…scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns, mushrooms, and tomatoes all cooked well. I also tried the Eggs Royale and Eggs Benedict from the à la carte menu, both rich and tasty. Pastries were available too, though they were just average. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with a lovely view from up top that made the meal even more enjoyable. The location is comfy and convenient, service was friendly, and prices are fair. A solid breakfast spot if you’re at Resorts World.

Didn't eat here but the food looked great. Came here for a drink whilst on a recent family day out at Resorts World. Very nicely decorated and a nice, chilled out atmosphere. Great view from our window seat. Toilets lovely and very clean. Will definitely come here again next time we are at Resorts World and will be trying a couple of cocktails!

We were shown to our table fairly quickly, the server was on the phone when we approached her. Service was polite and we were given ample time to decide on our meals and drinks. We were served reasonably quickly and when the food came it looked very good. Unfortunately my halloumi in my halloumi wrap was overdone, so was fairly chewy rather than soft. It tasted fine and wasn't burnt so I did not ask for it to be replaced. Our onion rings did have several that were overdone and with little onion in so were very crunchy. I did not raise this as we were in a small group for a celebration. Overall I would go back as the seating and atmosphere was good and it was pretty busy for the day we visited. There was parking available and we did not have far to travel from the car park to the restaurant.

The Gentleman & Scholar Pub and Terrace is a sophisticated British pub located in the heart of Birmingham. Inspired by the historical Gentlemans club and The Lunarmen Society of 1765, it offers a cozy atmosphere with its stylish interior, cosy booths, and a large terrace that is heated in winter and cool in summer. The pub provides an excellent selection of cocktails, fine wines, champagnes, and bar bites.
Every visit to the gentleman & scholar pub becomes significantly more delightful thanks to Chris, the remarkable waiter at the hotel bar. Chris sets the standard for what hospitality should look like. From the moment you enter until the last sip of your drink, his presence enhances the entire experience. With a smile that lights up the room, Chris always makes sure to greet guests warmly, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and valued. His attentiveness is unmatched; he has this unique ability to be there exactly when you need him without ever being intrusive. Whether it’s a quick check-in to see if you’re enjoying your time, or if you need another round of drinks, Chris does it with a finesse that only a truly dedicated professional can manage. He doesn’t linger, yet his timing is impeccable, always appearing at just the right moment to take your order or offer assistance. What really sets Chris apart is his exceptional service ethos. Despite the busy environment, he never makes you feel rushed, always taking the time to ensure your needs are met with a genuine smile. His promptness and efficiency are commendable, always managing to be there when you wave for him, ready to serve with grace. In a bustling city where the mark of an excellent waiter is often overlooked, Chris shines as a beacon of exemplary service. His dedication not only makes our visits to the Gentleman & scholar bar memorable but also makes us look forward to coming back. If you’re ever at this hotel, do yourself a favor and seek out Chris at the bar - his service will not only meet but exceed your expectations!

Visited here after arriving late at the Hyatt and needing a bite to eat, ordered the Irish stew and club sandwich. Irish stew looked worse then food my dog gets, complete mush, cold and bread that might have been cardboard. Club sandwich was cold and dissapointing. No napkins, no salt/pepper and no condiments supplied, service was non-existent. The worst meal I think ive ever had and I paid £40 for the privilege!

Had just flown/took train all the way from Vancouver and felt absolutely horrid. It was late and we were hungry and not in the best of moods....our server Christian turned it all around for us with his amazing attitude and spectacular service! We are dairy free and this is usually a challenge wherever we go...but not here. Fantastic options were already available and then he went the extra mile speaking to the chef and making notes on our Hyatt room to ensure we were well cared for during our stay. Really delicious proper fish and chips and kind care made all the difference. Slept like lambs after all that. Very grateful.

This is the pub within the Hyatt hotel. A pretty disappointing experience overall. First observation when ordering at the bar was the literal dozens of small flies buzzing around and feeding on the beer inside all the draught tap spouts. Absolutely gross! A pint of Heineken lager was £7.20. Expensive by any standards. The staff were lovely but the service was fairly slow, even on a clearly quiet night. The food (chicken burger in my case) was expensive (£19), bland and poor value overall. Definitely better food and drink options in the area, which is a shame because otherwise the hotel itself is decent.

Nice bar, comfy seats and a relaxed vibe. I felt the cocktail list was a little lacking, maybe a few more would be nice. However, the Old Fashioned I had was very nice. The lady behind the bar was quick and pleasant, but a little quiet. I couldn't hear what she was saying to me. Other than that, it was a nice visit.

We had late snacks here following an earlier party at the hotel and we were staying overnight at the hotel. They were quite busy and the food orders took forever but they kept us informed, apologised and explained why the delays. We were having a good time and in my opinion, problems can arise but it is how they are dealt with and our waiter was superb in his attitude and his service so for us that made up for it. I didn't get his name unfortunately but we were there late evening of the 5th August if that helps.

Grand Central is a very modern and convenient spot in the heart of Birmingham. It’s clean, bright, and the design feels welcoming. Great variety of shops and eating options — perfect if you need something before or after a commute. It does get busy, especially around peak travel times, which can make navigation a bit confusing. Overall, I enjoyed my visit — would definitely go back.
AMIT J — Google review
Even though the architecture and design of the Grand Central is impressive and the light comes from the roof, it is a train station and I have to honestly say that it functions less efficient than any other ordinary train station. As a tourist visiting Birmingham for the first time, I had a some confusing moments, like the name of the place on the map vs. the sign on the building vs. the name of the station (New Street Station). The most confusing part was finding my train and the platform. All signs are located in the center of the station. The displays are arranged according to departure times and not destinations. So you have to know the departure time of your train to look at the right display, otherwise you have to check all the displays until you find your train and the platform. It is really difficult to navigate here, partly because there is a gigantic reconstruction going on and partly because it is poorly signposted. Another distracting parameter is that the station is built together with a shopping center, which makes navigation even more difficult.
I Q — Google review
There are a wide variety of eating venues at Grand Central. You can choose from Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican and Chinese. There are also the standard favourites such as McDonald’s, Five Guys and Nando’s. Lots of shopping close by including Selfridges and Primark. If you go during the winter months you may also get to visit the German market.

The grand central first class train is topnotch. Walking in, I discovered I already had a complementary drink and snack on my seat, waiting. A kind man came over 20mins after to ask if I wanted a hot or cold drink, well, coffee responded that it wanted me😃. There are fire extinguishers in strategic places, there are two bins per coach, reclined seats that a nursing mother can use to change her baby. Enough leg and arm space. The quietness is so soothing. First time ever using it and I must say that I’m super impressed. Next time I’ll do a review on the standard class section. Oh also I charged my phone throughout my journey and I was offered a second cup of hot drink. I went for tea this time.

Decent food, not the biggest menu but it’s enough for a hotel restaurant. The food was tasty but didn’t feel like it was made from an authentic Indian restaurant. The staff are helpful and always available to provide assistance when needed.
In D — Google review
Thought of trying this restaurant as I was staying in this hotel. It's not way expensive, vegetarian, and non vegetarian, both with considerable choices in the menu. Tried hara bhara kabab and Veg Biryani. Well, kabad was tasty, though the biryani was missing its charm simply with few veggies in it, just mushroom, brinjal & loads of ball peppers in it. It could have been well added or replaced with carrots, grean peas, french beans, or broccolis. Well, service wasn't good to that extent. They didn't served the food still charged service amount in bill. Should be taught politeness lessons.

Amazing place to be if you want to eat authentic Indian food. The mixed grill was well done. Excellent customer service and the location is in the heart of birmingham city centre with garden view overlooking the city.

I went to visit Indus with my family this week. We were blown away by the impeccable service provided and the phenomenal quality of the food. Indus is definitely a must visit. What a fantastic luxury dining experience, serving amazing flavours that truly reflect the Indian cuisine. Coming from an Indian background, Indian restaurants are a hit and miss for us but Indus did not disappoint and exceeded all of our expectations. I can not wait until we return to Indus again and will be recommending the restaurant to all of our family and friends. Thank you team

Terrible service so slow, food was average by 10pm the waiter asked us if we wanted desert and then 5 mins later told us the kitchen was closed. There are better Indian restaurants in Birmingham - Lasan, Pushkar and Varnasi

The Big Birmingham Bake offers a unique and entertaining experience for couples of all cooking abilities. Participants are provided with all the necessary tools and ingredients to create a delicious dessert within 90 minutes, adding an element of pressure and fun to the activity. The event takes place in an iconic tent, where contestants present their final creations to a panel of experts for evaluation.
What a fantastic day! Champagne was our head chef and she made the experience! She made all the important stuff really fun and easy to follow and on hand to help with any baking issues. The cocktails served were tasty and very boozy! not sure that helped with the final product but as we were there to celebrate my son and his partners stag it just made for a great fun day! I would recommend anyone to go, great few hours well worth the money!

The experience was exceptionally enjoyable. The entire setup is impressive, with easily accessible equipment and straightforward instructions. The host provided immediate and helpful assistance with any concerns. Her demeanor was notably pleasant and welcoming. The workspace was maintained throughout the session. The time passed quickly; despite the time constraints, the immersive nature of the activity fostered intense focus. The unexpected victory was a delightful surprise. This experience is highly recommended for individuals of all ages.
Zainab A — Google review
Absolutely loved the event, it was so so much fun and the hen and the rest of the party loved it! The only thing I'd say that could be improved would be that we were told to get there 20 minutes early, and we weren't greeted when we arrived and we weren't let in until nearly the booked time so the 20 minutes was a bit pointless and frustrating when travelling from across different parts of the country. Otherwise the cake, instructions and atmosphere was great!
Katherine F — Google review
It was suuuch a fun evening!!! Champagne’s energy is contagious, she was very helpful and all the ingredients were already weighed and ready for use. The annoying parts are basically taken care of for you and you just have to follow the instructions. For flavour and decorations, it’s really up to you! The theme for last night was Tutti frutti and we took it quite literally, and… WE WON! We also get to take the cake home so that’s breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next few days😂 Overall, the competition was so fun, it’s such a good couple or group activity. I highly recommend it!
Zeinab H — Google review
We just had the best time. So many laughs but oh my goodness, stressful but in a good way! Champagne, the head chef, was fantastic and made a laugh so much, her sense of humour was just great. We were very pleased with ourselves when we managed to produce a wonky hedgehog cake but know now that we’d never enter that show on the telly! We’ll definitely return, thank you!
Jackie O — Google review
Great experience with our family group this weekend. Whole session planned really well, Champagne was brilliant with info, personality and checking up on everyone. Handled a curveball really well too👌 The wider team were so efficient and attentive also. We had great fun though a bit stressful at times, a real bake off experience! Recommend to everyone
Erin M — Google review
We had a fabulous day at the Big Bake, it was very well organised. All of the staff were friendly and on hand to help with clearing stations ect. Our Head Chef&Judge Champagne was excellent and really made our experience for us! We couldn’t recommend highly enough and will definitely be back in the future :)

We had such a fabulous time creating our Ice Lolly showstoppers for my sisters Hen Do. The staff were amazing and were always on hand for advice and also cleaning up some of the empty dishes / used utensils throughout to ensure you had enough space to create your showstopper masterpiece! We were baking on the hottest weekend of the year but were kept cool by the air conditioning units positioned throughout the tent! We were able to enjoy a few refreshments after the bake at the onsite bar.

What a find!! Great music all night was a mostly 80’s vibe the night we went. Such a friendly welcoming place; both staff and punters, people of all ages. Where what you like, be who you are at this place. We will be back (and we live 50 miles away!).

Really cool vibes. Great live music. Nice cocktails. Friendly staff. Very welcoming (from someone who rarely goes out). Nice range of ages. Casual dress or dressed up. Sat and drew the band and the surroundings without feeling uncomfortable, and apparently I wasn't the only one who does that. Nice friendly crowd.

A huge thank you to Clare and all of The Night Owl staff for our amazing wedding at the quirkiest most chilled venue ever! Highly recommend love to you all! You’re all amazing! Thank you Harriet & Dan xxxx

This place really stinks. It smells like those little glass things you'd get from news agents, you'd crack 'em on the floor & they'd stink out the place -- yes that's it, this place has a smell about it like stink bombs. I shall not return. I do not want your audience. The spoken word is doom --- for the fishy smell there. Good bass though or should I say basses
Sam E — Google review
A great compact venue, though Wrap up well if heading there in Winter as a fair bit of the venue is situated outside. The stage has 2 huge TV screens behind it which show clips from many top programmes of the 60s. The venue specialises in retro acts from a bygone era. Bar prices are like most music venues slightly overpriced. On the whole a good sound & feel about the place you dig, I dug.

Birdies Bar in Birmingham is a vibrant and tropical-themed space located in the heart of Digbeth. It offers an array of cocktails, street food, and regular live music, providing a taste of warmer climates. As part of the Ghetto Golf complex, it hosts quiz nights and cocktail masterclasses. The indoor venue features beautiful floral and greenery touches that create a tropical paradise ambiance. While enjoying some of the finest cocktails and live music, visitors can also indulge in a variety of street food options.
Love this place! Really nice atmosphere, beautifully designed and seriously classy toilets! Not cheap, but certainly not overpriced. Good range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. Good food, good music and excellent way to recycle of old shipping containers, with their beautiful artwork. We'll worth a visit.
Carolyn H — Google review
A really nice large open space and bar. As not a proper building, rather cold. Would be amazing in summer. Drinks not cheap, and not exactly worth the money either. You'd expect £9 cocktails yo have enough liquor to warrant the charges. Food was ok, again pricey. Had live singing and the singer was pretty good. Defo worth a visit and certainly a good evening for bar hopping.
Naz N — Google review
If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. Bouncers were aggressive and the place was dead. The ladies toilets were closed and no staff to ask. Will never go back there again. Absolute disgrace and the bouncers should be really proud of themselves on trying to intimidate women. How dare they.
Sarah G — Google review
As other patrons have already mentioned on here, definitely worth a visit if you are doing any kind of tour of the Digbeth area. A really friendly vibe, with a wide variety of punter "types" (if you know what I mean!). We purchased some food from one of the vendors there - they do that thing where they hand you a buzzer so you can carry on drinking and not hang around waiting for your order. The chips were simply stunning. A really chilled visit - highly recommended.
Vern — Google review
So this bar is great if your table is located in the middle area but it has a selection of tables separated around the outside of the main area cut off with huge boards. It took 45 minutes to get our first drinks ordered and delivered and they were wrong. After speaking with a staff member we were moved into the middle bit and then it was great. The band were fantastic, lovely atmosphere, great decor, easy to order more drinks and much warmer.
Kirsty F — Google review
Great decor, food and cocktails. Price is okay and some of the cocktail are alittle bit small but made up in taste. Really enjoy the live music that they have going on at Saturday. Will deffo go again !
The ( — Google review
Unique space with the perfect addition of heaters to keep warm. Lit up by sparkling lights it sets the tone for a tropical romance. The food we tried was really full of flavour and a nice twist on street food. We had the chicken thigh burger with an Oriental pork belly chilli fries. It was delicious!! Really friendly staff. An all plastic venue so if you like a glass for your wine or beer probably re think your drinking whole. This wasn't a deal breaker for us.
Chloe S — Google review
This has the potential to be an amazing drinking space. The decor is fab, and the use of shipping containers is undeniably good for the planet. However there was a chill in the air mid evening (there's minimal roofing), and the heaters weren't quite powerful enough. Drinks are similarly priced to 'Ghetto Golf' next door. It is worth highlighting that all drinks were decanted into plastic, including our bottle of Prosecco. Which had we have been notified beforehand we would have gone for a bottle of wine instead (as you can imagine, it was pretty flat by time it had reached us).

I really enjoy visiting the Botanical Gardens. Over the years I have been to see Shakespeare plays and summer walks through the beautiful gardens. However, I only give this place three stars as I believe there is room for improvement. Visiting here only today, we were greeted by a very unfriendly person at the desk, who did not even crack a smile. We experienced similar behaviour when we went into the cafe for lunch. The cafe itself is old and drab. It needs a serious make-over. They would be better making a bistro type place with good food and drink - it would be a goldmine! I believe with better customer service skills from the staff this place would be really good. It really makes a difference. Cannot fault the gardens, they are beautiful and I really enjoyed the butterfly house!

The worst service ive ever met. Few times in the last few months I tried different settings, contacted Customer Services, followed their guidance. It used to be a great way to contact family abroad, but in the last year it is going downhill so bad. I am researching different alternative and leave the app for good.
Margaret — Google review
DO NOT USE TESCO TO BUY AIRTIME. BE WARNED. It's a rip off/scam especially if you want to buy airtime for someone abroad. I paid £9.95 and the airtime my daughter got was $10. The exchange rate to USD is currently @ 1:1.29. So they are ripping us off by taking £10 with a higher value and giving back $10 in air time. Tesco you are scammers. This is not right!
B M — Google review
The call quality has gone down drastically in the past few months. For a company as big as Tesco to have poor calling quality is unbelievable. In the past the quality was great but now it has fallen over a cliff. It's beyond a joke. If yiu value your money look for a different calling app. I wont use this app again!!
Solomon G — Google review
The app is so hard to top up credit on, filling out the form is frustrating to go through to the payment page bit it doesn't ask how much you want to top up, then it keeps erroring out.
S F — Google review
No star would be the right rating as this the worse app I have ever used. I can not hear the person I call, they cannot hear me and on top of the original credit I paid, I was also charged separately for the duration I used it.
Guity N — Google review
Not worth it; as they wiped out £ 27 from my account during coronavirus time for the unfair reason, not declared when I subscribed to the service, that you are required to top up your account every 6 months. Today they have again taken £ 20 without warning, in spite of having made a top up for £ 5 a month ago. Now I called in today and managed to get my money back, apparently the system was defective. Happy up to a point, as I am not sure that the same problem will not reoccur.
Fabius — Google review
Terrible service. I bought credit with Tesco because I assumed they'd be efficient and reliable. I had to make an important call to Spanish freephone number that most other services simply charge as a normal line. Then problems started. 1. I was charged for double the amount of credit I requested. 2. The app refused to connect to this number. 3. On requesting a refund , Tesco only repaid half the amount I paid. After numerous calls I was told that the total was refunded and I need to contact my bank. This would take on average 30 + minutes on hold and wouldn't necessarily track the payment. Tesco refused any other remedy despite the significant time spent on this matter. Although the guy on the phone was pleasant etc, Tesco customer service policy and efficiency is extremely poor. I have chosen to write reviews of my experience with Tesco rather than waste more time with Tesco.

Had indian afternoon tea here. The manager serving us was amazing and welcomed us very well. The food was horrible, cold, dry tasted like it was all out of date and left out for days realised there food was actually mouldy. The mocktail drinks were not all the same as each same drink had a different taste. Hot drinks were bottomless but forgotten which is the main thing about afternoon tea Staff don’t understand English very well and very bad service. We spoke to the manager about the mould in the food and gave 3 afternoon tea and extra food all for complementary which is the only option they had. Overall wouldn’t recommend it the restaurant/hotel missed out on £300 worth of money due to the food.

I enjoyed the great variety of breakfast choices (except the instant coffee). Room and bathroom were modern, new, bed was very comfortable, good pillow, good ventilation system (I care about that when windows are sealed). I was pleased to discover a full range of weights and 1 bench in the gym, which at first sight looked stuffed with cardio devices :). I arrived in the late evening and the check-in was fast and friendly. Cristina who did the check-out for me, was very caring, respectful and made me feel good for the journey ahead of me. Given the oportunity I will book there again. What's missing for a 5 star rating: good coffee and more coordination between cleaning team and reception regarding the room occupancy. Knocking at my door at 8 :) while check out time is 11.
