Restaurant
Siesta Key Oyster Bar, affectionately known as S.K.O.B., is a laid-back beach spot with a covered patio where you can savor delicious seafood and bar favorites while enjoying draft beer and live music. The restaurant lives up to its name by offering an array of fresh oysters and other local seafood dishes. From raw and baked oysters to grouper bites with signature remoulade, there's something for every seafood lover.
Fresh, flavorful seafood, worth the wait! The food here is absolutely delicious and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. It can get a little hectic during peak times, and things might move a bit slow since the place gets packed and the staff is juggling a lot. That said, the waitresses were top-notch: friendly, professional, and doing their best to keep up with the crowd. If you're not in a rush, it's definitely worth it!

Delicious grouper tacos. The best way to get grouper without overlaying for sides. Excellent service. I sat at the bar and Megan took top notch service for me. Ambience is fantastic too. You can sit either inside or outside. I sat outside at first to soak up some sun, and then moved inside to soak up some AC and live music. I’ll be back for HH oysters.
Frank F — Google review
I always love coming back to this place, it's really nice, and every time I go, even if I'm not hungry, I order the calamari. I don't know if I do it out of habit, but I love them. I also tried the oysters, and even some cooked oysters (I don't remember the name because I didn't order them myself, I think they had cheese on them) and, man, those were good too! They often have live music, which makes everything more magical.
Maria K — Google review
Such a fun spot. Right off main stretch with live music. Didnt have drinks as we came in after a beach day but food was delicious. Blue cheese and bacon oysters... best oysters I've had yet. You can tell its been around for decades as the inside is covered in dollar bills and memorabilia. We will come back when we are in the areas for sure.
Ann C — Google review
Lunch was good, nothing to write home about or suggest to others. The cocktails ($12-$15) were good, no cheap sugary mixes. The oysters Rockefeller were meh, just spinache, barely any crispy bread crumps, almost no cheese and very little sauce. The grouper bites were really good. The tuna and avocado BLT was also very good. Cajun Shrimp po'boy had no Cajun seasoning. Service started out good but then she would forget what we asked for and just stood up at the host stand. Wouldn't complain of we went back but would try a different restaurant next time I'm on the area.
Leah J — Google review
Great local bar. Good food, a little pricey though. Great staff. Gets crowded because it's small. Always has a great band playing! Drink selection was limited on seltzers though which I prefer
Dawn N — Google review
For an oyster bar, we found it disappointing. The service was great, the food was ok. Grouper bites were good, the oysters not so much. The crab cakes were so so. Quesada’s were good. They were filled with cheese and veggies and didn’t dry out.
Mary L — Google review
Great selection of cold water oysters, truly some of the best oysters we’ve had, period! Ordered dozen oysters (mignonette delicious), calamari and lobster roll from the specials menu. Perfect vibes and service ✨

Restaurant
The Hub Baja Grill is a lively and vibrant restaurant located in the heart of Siesta Key Village. It offers a tropical-themed atmosphere with indoor and covered patio seating, perfect for people-watching along Ocean Boulevard. The menu features Mexican-inspired dishes and an array of margaritas, including the popular Cadillac Margarita made with Patron Anejo tequila.
I had low expectations for a busy spot right on the main street, but we were very pleasantly surprised about the food, drinks, and the number of gluten free options. First of all, get their yummy margaritas. Different but in a good way. Try their signature one and the coconut one. We had the chicken bowl and the taco plate, and both were very tasty. The live music was great too.
Thomas G — Google review
This was my first time trying this. We saw this place walking around the village and wanted to give it a try after viewing the menu. They have a great variety of tacos. We got mahi, shrimp, and tuna tacos. We also had an order of the smashed burger and fries… both were great! The tacos were enjoyed with the complementary rice and beans but I have had better at other Mexican places. The place is well located and the service was fine. Prices were good. Overall, it’s a nice place to go if you’re looking for a tasty spot in the village!
Julie G — Google review
Our server was Kameron and he was fantastic! I am a vegetarian and he got the kitchen to make a special meat-free version of the nachos. Apparently the restaurant has two different types of tortilla chips. I didn't even know that, but Kameron brought them both out for me to try before he put in the order. The nachos were really good, the service was phenomenal, and they had a good selection of beers too (I got a hazy IPA). On top of that, the live band was great. We had a wonderful night.
Kody — Google review
Decent food for a busy strip restaurant but not authentic. The drinks were great though. We were surprised to see they charge for chips & salsa. They live music was a good touch.
Mrs J — Google review
Great casual spot for tacos and local eats right on the main strip and not too far from the beach. Started with the house margarita and got a half Tajin and half salt rim. tasty for sure but too much orange juice for my liking so it was almost like a different drink entirely. All three tacos we got were tasty but the tone poke was the standout. Rice and beans were ample and super tasty. Blackened grouper sandwich was delicious but didn’t care for the sweet potato fries as they were tossed in some sort of sugar. Way too sweet as a side. Server very attentive and friendly. Fun spot for sure.
Kristian O — Google review
Short walk from Siesta Key Beach. Indoor/outdoor with live music. Good food. Came here after looking over the menu and reviews. Service may have been a 1 off, but we were seated and left there for a good 10 min watching others get seated and eventually served. It seemed like they either had the bus boy take care of us, or he was from the other side of the restaurant. Drinks weren't refilled, slow all around, drink orders weren't put in. Will not return.
J A — Google review
Came here after checking out a few options in the area. This is a popular spot that provides fun music while you dine. We ordered drinks that included a margarita, which I was told was "great!" We also ordered nachos, which were not as hot as I preferred and they were okay. However, when our main courses came out to the table we were very happy. My partner got the Chicken Bowl and she loved it. When I took a bite of it - I thought the flavors were good and I recommend it too. The biggest thing is that my main meal hit my side of the table. FYI - I have a habit of seeking out things on menu6 that I have never tried before and on this night it was a great success. The Birria Burger is positively AMAZING! The first bite I took was just as the burger was presented on the plate; respectfully, I was not entirely sure what to think of it at first but that's not to suggest that it was bad or disappointing. Then I dipped it in the accompanying sauce where it felt like the heavens opened up and the angels revealed a culinary party in my mouth! Try to imagine a next level chilli cheese burger and that somewhat comes close to this fantastic sandwich. Honestly, my only complaint about this burger was that I was too full and couldn't make way to order a second one. Finally, my partner finished the meal with a strawberry and jalapeno margarita, which she also loved the combination of sweet, sour, and spicy all at once. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Fulton B — Google review
Nice out door seating and with a band playing island music. Service was quick and was not typical cheap beach food. Not the best food ever but certainly better beach food that I have had. Mostly Mexican and sandwiches here. Reasonable price for food and drinks for a tourist area. Margarita was tasty except they put OJ on all of their margs so ask without it.

Daiquiri Deck Siesta Key Village is the ultimate late-night destination for those seeking a laid-back vibe infused with fun. This lively bar and restaurant is renowned for its creative frozen daiquiris, including the infamous Deck Diesel—a tantalizing mix of orange, vodka, and grain alcohol that packs a punch.
With so many little restaurants to choose from in the village on Siesta Key you would be wise to give this place a try on your next visit. From the outstanding service to beach atmosphere without being on the beach, it is worth it. For starters, the service was exceptional, and our server was consistent in ensuring we were doing okay. My wife ordered fish and chips and let me tell you, their chips are truly delicious. The burger I ordered had a definite seasoning to it that has made it one of my favorite burgers on the Key, and in Sarasota. The only real downside to this location, and pretty much every other restaurant in the village, is parking.
K M — Google review
We arrived right at 3:00 to begin the happy hour. They didn't seem to have very many servers so it took a while to get served. Our server was very knowledgeable of the drinks that were available and the flavors. Our drinks were delivered cold and ready to drink. Although you might want to mix it a little bit.

This bar & restaurant is SO CLEAN. The staff are friendly, the service is quick and the food is what you’d expect from a beach bar. So many choices. It’s not often you find such a clean and well run beach establishment. The bartender is always cleaning and helping bus tables for wait staff. Can’t recommend enough !
Brianna M — Google review
Always go here. Food was great and our waitress Brook was wonderful. Always smiling and was super friendly she checked in on us frequently making sure we were having a good time and everything was to par. Very attentive. I had the coconut shrimp was delicious and the nachos. Best I’ve had on the Island. Be back soon.

Ray is an amazing bartender. Love the atmosphere, grouper fingers were on point, we'll be back for sure!! 😁

I had Shawn as a my waiter and he is the best waiter I have ever experienced on top of are orders with the best customer service and positive you guys are truly blessed to have such an amazing employee I will be coming back frequently for his wonderful service hopefully I get him as my waiter every time

This is a very typical, beachy, touristy place. It's right in the heart of the restaurant / bar / shopping district. Open air, a lot of different types of seatings, large menu (but very typical fried bar food). Loved their daiquiris and when I go again I'll try different ones. I do believe you can combine different flavors together. Come as you are. It is a very loud busy place so if you want something more low key this probably isn't the place for you.

Gilligan's Island Bar & Grill is a popular beach bar located in Siesta Key, Florida, known for its vibrant and lively atmosphere. The tiki-style space offers a laid-back vibe and happy-hour deals, making it a top destination for nightlife and live music on the island. With ample outdoor seating options under an iconic tiki roof, visitors can enjoy casual fare and tropical-style indoor and outdoor bars. The bar also features a dance floor and hosts bands for live performances.
An upbeat, lively place to eat whilst at Siesta Key! The food and atmosphere was great but what really made our experience extra special was our server Shaun T. He was kind, helpful, cordial and also went the extra mile to take a precious photo. I took a chance and tried the Chef’s Favorite, “The Native”- a sweet and savory Whitefish sandwich on toasted Raisin bread. Very unique and tasty! The sweet potato fries with wicked sauce were melt in the mouth scrumptious. And the Not So Rum Runner was a perfect refreshing treat for my daughter. 🍹💜🥰
Geeta T — Google review
If you're looking for the tiki bar experience you won't go away lacking. Plenty of seating, indoors or outdoors, shady or full sun tucked into all kinds of spots. There's some corn hole or other games for free. Get a cold pitcher of beer for $10 or a well drink for $3 during the 11-6 Happy Hour. Our server Drew happily took our drink and food orders. Our food came out hot and ready to eat. The fries were cooked perfectly. I got the fried "Jumbo" shrimp. They were extra large at best and a little overcooked, but seasoned well. My wife got the beans and rice bowl with a huge piece of grouper on it. She couldn't finish it. Everyone else loved there meals. Drew helped make it an amazing experience.
Larry H — Google review
Atmosphere was very tropical and plenty of live music in this restaurant as well as surrounding restaurants. We sat on the porch outside and I had the fried shrimp with cocktail sauce and my wife had a salad and salsa and fresh made chips. Raider was attentive and friendly. We use public parking which is $8 an hour apparently throughout the city there. Very enjoyable meal. Easy to recommend.
Dan K — Google review
Great food. Big portions! Fun & friendly staff. Thanks to Chris M & Marie. We have been twice so far in 1 wk! The grilled & blackened shrimp salads are amazing. Their mai tai's, pina coladas & mudslides are sooo good!!
Rae G — Google review
We almost didn’t try this place out due to some of the other reviews. But after not being happy at another place we decided to just do it. And we are happy we did. This place was nothing like the bad reviews we read. Outside of the weather being hot with possible thunderstorms, and having no fan on our table. The food was great! It was piping hot and fresh. The chicken quesadilla was the best. The fish a chips were good as well. The staff was friendly and our waitress was very attentive. We only wished the general manager had visited our table. We were visiting, but this place is an additional to why we will return. Look passed any bad reviews and give this place a try. We found it was worth it!
Sarah L — Google review
Very fun dinner out for my hubby’s BD! Drew was our waiter and took excellent care of us! He was super friendly and attentive. We had the nachos - WOW! Huge and delicious. The tacos and grilled chicken sandwich were great entrees. I had the pineapple lemon martini and the mango colada! Yummy - great music and really fun atmosphere! Plus you’re in Siesta Key - everything is better here!
Lead S — Google review
Hostess kept us informed on our wait. Shannon was our waitress and she was AMAZING. Very tentative to our requests (party of 6). She kept everyone's glasses full and was very sweet. The food was amazing as well. They had live music which was also good. The whole place was a VIBE and we look forward to our next trip here.

Beachy Vibes and Big Flavor in Siesta Key 🌴🐟🍹We always forget to take photos because we’re too busy enjoying our conversations. Gilligan’s is a must-visit every time we’re in Siesta Key. The beachy, laid-back vibe paired with drink specials (served in fun souvenir cups!) keeps us coming back. The fish tacos were loaded with crispy white fish, check out the size of that portion! They were topped with coconut rum slaw and full of flavor. The beef burgers are just as massive and satisfying for non-seafood lovers. This time we also tried the Drunken Chicken Sandwich, which wasn’t bad at all, especially paired with sweet potato fries and an extra side of their tropical rum sauce for dipping. It really hit the spot. Solid drinks, generous portions, and island vibes make this place a go-to for casual dining and good times. 🌺🍔🍤

Nestled in a colorful old home, The Blasé Café & Martini Bar offers al fresco seating and a martini bar serving eclectic island-inspired eats. This late-night hangout on Siesta Key beach is the go-to destination for those seeking a touch of class and plenty of flavor on Friday or Saturday evenings. The renovated home exudes a welcoming and eclectic vibe, making it stand out among the beach nightlife scene.
Great vibes 🤩 This place is so classy but laid back at the same time. It’s not your typical beach bar because the service is top-tier. We LOVED the espresso martini & chocolate martini. The pizza was good and I am obsessed with the grilled Brussel sprouts. Cant go wrong with the wings & stay for the live music! Coming back for sure 💁🏻‍♀️
Olivia H — Google review
This used to be the go to place on a weekend night. The martini selection is so limited now. Not sure what happened, but that is what made it unique. Now it's just an average bar with basics. But they do have great live music and 3.14 pizza is still great. Please upgrade your menu to be awesome again. Nobody like middle of the road. Be extra. You were so good at it.

Came here for drinks and stayed for dinner too!! Awesome service and attention to detail!! A big shout out to Madison the bartender for making excellent rum runners!! For a martini bar in Siesta Key they make the worst martinis in the world and they say that they offer blue cheese olives where do they get their tofu tasting disappointment tasting olives . The experience was to say terrible. I say shame on you for charging $16. 50 got one drink . Totally unfriendly and unhappy staff not do not recommend this place at all .

So much fun at this club. They had a live band who were really good. And a dj later who was just as equally good. Service was quick and friendly and mixed drinks tasted good. Atmosphere was nice too and most were on the dance floor. I would definitely go back for sure.

This is hands down one of the best seafood restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly — you can really taste the quality in every bite. My husband and I were in town for a procedure this week. I was CRAVING a seafood boil so I researched and kept going back to the beach club! When we got there we were blown away with the atmosphere and the generous smiles!! Sean (i think that is how you spell it) was great and super attentive to our needs along with our waitress! She never let a drink go empty and always checked on us! The boil was one of the best I have ever had!!

Went to their sister store across the street and the host Cindy was very bothered when we said that this location turned us away since the kitchen closed soon and so she went over to vouch for us and explained they simply didn’t have the staff to accommodate our large party. We came back the next day for dinner with an even larger party and the same host Cindy and the manager Cody got us right in and the whole establishment took amazing care of us on top of having great drinks and food. Highly recommend this spot the staff go out of their way to take care of you.

Walking by the Beach club around 4pm it just so happened that a bird pooped in my hair on the walk by. I stopped in to clean up and upon exit, Sean handed me a tequila shot and said “you know bird poop is good luck”. It was an unexpected start to an awesome night. He did not have to entertain me nor did his employees need to let him know. This is a place that is looking to build its customer base genuinely. Definitely recommend! :) thank you!!

This place is amazing! Food, atmosphere and service were all top notch! We had a very large party and service was still fantastic. Scallops, tempura shrimp, poke bowl , grouper sandwich and scampi were all excellent. But the best thing we had hands down was the lobster bisque and the lobster sushi roll. May be the best of both that I’ve ever eaten and I have eaten a lot of bisque! Prices aren’t cheap but this is a “you get what you pay for” kind of situation. Highly recommended!!

We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Plantains off the Tapas menu. They were served with crispy cancha (corn nuts), chimichurri, and huancaina sauces. I had the Black Mussels for my entrée and my husband had the Diver Sea Scallops. I also ordered a side of Truffle Fries because why not?! Every single dish was delicious!! Our waitress, Monica, was attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and friendly! We will definitely request her again if we ever come back this way. 10/10 recommend!!

I recently visited The Cottage and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff was friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was good. The plating was nice, but the garnishes on several plates looked a bit tired and not as fresh as I would have hoped. That slightly took away from the visual appeal of the meal. It was an okay dining experience. Worth a try if you’re nearby and want a casual bite in a nice setting.

We had eaten here during g our last visit to Siesta Key and really enjoyed it so it was an easy decision to go back again for lunch today. It’s normally too hot to eat outside in Florida restaurants in August but due to the large canopy we were able to do so without getting g too hot - the many fans helped! The staff were so friendly and helpful and we were soon sitting down with drinks trying to decide what to eat from the large menu. It was lunch time so we’re looking at sandwiches, burgers etc - we decided on the grouper sandwich and the seared tuna club sandwich with both of us upgrading to the truffle and Parmesan fries. The food was absolutely great - so tasty and the fries were a revelation! Just about the right quantity for lunch so didn’t have a dessert. Happy to come back

Wonderful tiki bar with friendly service and great bites. Excellent service from the Bartender Rudy and the Manager Tiffany, along with the awesome live music truly made for the perfect atmosphere and fun night out with my Husband.

My friend and I visited The Cottage multiple times during our week in Siesta Key, and every single time it felt a bit like walking into Cheers. Everyone was genuinely excited to see us. The entire staff was, without a doubt, the friendliest and most personable team we encountered on the Key. A massive shout-out needs to go to Kyle, who was a true standout for "adopting" us and taking such good care of us throughout our visits. The curated menu is fantastic. I highly recommend the tuna tacoshimi, the mussels, and the rich, delicious lobster bisque. They were all instant favorites. And for drinks, their mai tai is a must-try. The quality of the food combined with the welcoming atmosphere created by the staff makes this place unforgettable. If you’re looking for great dining and even better hospitality in Siesta Key, you have to stop by The Cottage. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing food. Great views. Wonderful service. Drinks were great as well. We were blown away at the portion of lobster they gave us. They were very accommodating and created a special plate even though it wasn’t specifically on the menu. Perfect place for sunset dinner.

Here for the first time to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I found this place by googling Best Seafood Restaurant in Sarasota. It is located in the Ritz Carleton Hotel which is situated right on the harbor with great views. Complimentary Valet parking was handy since there is no parking nearby. We were seated immediately outside with a nice view of the harbor. Our server Brooke made our experience we wonderful. The menu is limited but that is not necessarily a negative. We were waited on by a team of servers. I ordered a Negroni and my wife had a gin and tonic. We had the shrimp cocktail which I felt was not as fresh as it could be. I was expecting jumbo shrimp but they were average size. A highlight was the brown maple bread which came backed in a tin cake. Brooke served us explaining the origin of the bread and the name Jack Dusty. My wife had the mahi mahi which she said was delicious. I had the Red Snapper. It was a huge serving. I had filled up on the shrimp and bread. The bar looks like a good happy hour spot. Some people came just for drinks. Dress is casual. This will be a good place to bring company. Oh, my wife got her pick of desserts and the recipe for the bread. I’m

Sooo, Jack Dusty was surprisingly good! I’m usually skeptical about hotel restaurant, there’s often a high chance of high prices and bland food, but this one delivered. We had dinner, dessert, and breakfast here and enjoyed all of it. Tried a few different things on the menu, no clear favorite, but everything was solid. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area or staying at the hotel!

Great brunch/ lunch as always! Oysters are always really good too! One of my favorite and most frequented restaurants in SRQ. Jack fries are SOO GOOD, if you’re on a diet I recommend staying away because they are dangerously addictive (in a good way).

Jack dusty food was great! We came here for a birthday dinner and were in a private dining room. Drinks were great, views were nice as well. Only complaint was service. We were a large party, but still took 30-45 mins to get checked on knowing we were having drinks and needed water topped off etc. I would give it an 8/10.

Jack Dusty, is located inside the Ritz Carlton downtown Sarasota. Nice lunch specials 😋, very helpful and courteous staff 👍 good views out the back 👍 Both indoor and outdoor seating 💺 😀. And for those of you that follow me, you know that cleanliness is very important 😉 Jack Dusty easily meets my expectations 👍😉 The restaurant and restrooms 🚻 are very neat and clean 😀. We stayed at the Ritz for our vacation in sarasota. And ate at the restaurant for lunch one day. They have an exceptional seafood menu. My husband got the fish tacos and very much enjoyed them. I'm vegetarian and the options were limited but the bartender was kind enough to discuss with the chef options to help accommodate my dietary restrictions and they made vegetarian tacos. Which was such a nice gesture. The tacos were filled to the top and the flavors actually worked well. They bar tender was great!

Great food and impeccable service at the heart of downtown Sarasota. The beet burrata salad and the pork iberico are my personal highlights. Prices are in line with other fine dining options in the area. Very good overall experience and we want to go back to try the burgers.

A nice place to visit. Good ambience. Might be a little loud for some. My group loved their food. I'm not too excited about my steak and eggs. It came in a bowl all mixed. Good flavor but too greasy for me. The shrimp and grits was really good.

This is a small & popular venue so made reservations for 2 outside. We arrived a bit early but since our table was reserved, we were seated right away. I jad the steak & frite ( Wagyu beef) & my boyfriend had shrimp & grits. Healthy portions & cooked perfectly. We sat outside.

The band Cabana Dogs played. The band and music was great! You really wanted to have fun and dance and just have a great time. The music vibe was a great eclectic mix of 80s pop, rock, fun beach, all that makes you want to sing and dance along. But, they had to play cramped behind a half wall, and there was no dance floor! I felt the place was not good enough for this particular band. So yeah, didn't care for the club but really loved the band. Hopefully I'll see them again, someplace with a nice dance floor

The Old Salty Dog is a British-style pub located in various prime spots, including Sarasota's City Island and Lido Key. It offers a picturesque view of the bay and provides a relaxed atmosphere for visitors to enjoy live music while indulging in beer-battered hot dogs, fish n chips, grouper sandwiches, and their famous plump and juicy chicken wings tossed in Old Bay Hot Sauce.
The restaurant is right on the water. You cannot beat the view! It had a local vibe, which we love since we're true Floridians. The food was fresh and delish! We had the grouper, blackened, sandwich and the Captain seafood platter. We also enjoyed some nice cold beverages: ice tea and a local beer. Enjoy!
Kristin M — Google review
This was one of the best restaurants we ate at. Everything was great. The food was above average!! The Service was fantastic!! Several of the workers stopped and talked to us. We set on the deck overlooking the water. This is a must if you are near the area. The sunset on the water is a must see.

What an incredible meal! The Old Salty Dog is always a must-visit whenever we're in Florida, and this trip was no exception. We finally tried the loaded Old Salty Dog, and I deeply regret not ordering it sooner. It absolutely lives up to the hype and is a game-changer. The atmosphere was perfect. We sat right by the water, which made for a beautiful and relaxing experience. The kids had a blast too, enjoying their meals along with a delicious strawberry smoothie. They also loved the freebie that came with their food and were so excited to take it home. On top of that, the peel and eat shrimp were out of this world—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. We'll be back again and again!

We had a stunning lunch here. Everything was super fresh and crisp. Neat lobster roll I’ve had in a long time and their sweet potato fries were delicious. Service was friendly and super attentive. Robbie was so sweet and great at serving us. We saw a manatee swimming right by us and lots of fish, jelly fish and dolphins in the distance. Amazing location for the perfect relaxing lunch on the water.
Lesley G — Google review
We absolutely love this Old Salty Dog location near St. Armands Circle in Sarasota. The restaurant is waterfront and right next to a marina/boat yard and marine center. There are always boats being launched, refueling, or just cruising by. On a sunny day, it is a perfect waterfront spot in Sarasota to boat watch. The Pelicans are always swooping for fish and putting on a show for restaurant guests. You can also occasionally see jelly fish, we just saw a couple hundred swimming by on our last visit. Rain or shine, Old Salty Dog is always worth a visit. The patio gets the perfect amount of sun on a sunny day with light sun shades, a gulf breeze, and the perfect sunset back drop. On rainy days, you might have to wait a minute for an inside table or seat at the bar because they stay busy, but it is worth the wait. As the name implies, they are known for their deep fried hot dogs and dog bites which are always a favorite. The burgers also hit the spot for a change up and the seafood doesn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a frozen drink on a hot day, a delicious rum runner, or just a beer they have something for everyone. The parking lot gets full pretty quick with limited spaces while they are working on the building next door, but additional lots are across the street and a short 2 minute walk. We’d highly recommend Old Salty Dog for a casual waterfront restaurant in Sarasota with good food, good drinks, and the ability to come in your swim suit by boat or car.
Jay T — Google review
You cannot beat food right by the water. We both enjoyed a grouper sandwich, mine was blackened. My wife's was fried in a tempura like beer batter. Both were absolutely delicious, shared some regular fries and some sweet potato fries. The service was quick, there were a couple of local beers on tap. And whatever you do, do not skip the key lime pie!
Scott S — Google review
If you want the beach vibe while eating dinner this is the place for it. If you imagine having a drink with the weather breeze blowing on you then look no further. Sitting there while a boat floats by, a pelican lands 10 ft from you, and seeing a rainbow was amazing. The food wasn't amazing, but the atmosphere makes up for it. I got a hamburger and an order of the Salty dog nuggets. I had a wonderful time eating here.

After a day of apartment hunting we were hungry and The Old Salty Dog was right on our route and super convenient. We got some mozzarella sticks, burger with fries and the hotdog bites. I would love to stop back when I come back to the area.

Tex-Mex restaurant
Circo is a vibrant restaurant that offers an inventive take on Tex-Mex cuisine and hosts lively happy hours in a laid-back setting. Founded by Joe Seidenstickers, the eatery reflects his vision of creating a fun hangout centered around tacos and bourbon. Located at the bottom of The DeSota apartment building in downtown Sarasota, Circo boasts a hip and casual ambiance with high ceilings, colorful signage, and a lounge area.
My boyfriend and I dined in last week and had a fabulous experience! Our server was so friendly and warm and she took the time to go over each item and give us her best recommendation. The angry rooster spicy marg was perfectly balanced, and the house queso was super cheesy and impressively tasting for a simple dish. My favorite taco was the cheesy chicken! Circo has a fun vibe, I’m excited to mosey back for Happy hour.
McKenzie H — Google review
Circo in downtown Sarasota is such a fun spot if you love tacos, bourbon, and a lively atmosphere. The restaurant has a playful circus theme, which makes the space feel energetic and unique. The tacos are the real highlight creative, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. I especially enjoyed the Mongolian Beef and Thai Shrimp tacos, but there’s something for everyone, including vegetarian options. Their cocktails are just as impressive, with a great bourbon selection and margaritas that perfectly complement the food. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and always make you feel at home. Whether you stop by for happy hour, Taco Tuesday, or a casual night out, Circo delivers a memorable dining experience that keeps you coming back.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in. It is seat yourself but we hadn’t been there so we weren’t sure where we wanted to sit. E had lots of questions. We were told about Happy Hour specials. We asked about the tacos. Our server ate there every day and had tried all the tacos so she could help us decide what we would like. We ordered margaritas. I had the house Margarita and my husband had the Bourbon Margarita. We loved them. We tried the guacamole with goat cheese as an appetizer. And then we tried the tacos. We ended up trying 5 of their tacos - all the Happy Hour ones (B1G1F, mix and match) and the Cheesy Chicken. I liked the Mongolian and the Thai Shrimp ones best of the 5 we tried. We will be going back!!!

Fun, fresh, and fabulous spot to hang out! This place has an awesome vibe and an even better taco selection—from Mongolian beef to Korean pork belly to Thai shrimp. And of course, they’ve got the classics like the “Gringo” for when you're craving the basics. The margarita was spot-on, and Taco Tuesday is a real treat: buy one, get one free! Plus, happy hour also offers BOGO on select tacos. Great flavors, great deals—definitely worth checking out.

4.5- almost perfect! Talk about some good non traditional Mexican tacos, this is the spot! While I don’t like places that do a a-la-carte this spot was reasonably priced. The chef deserves a 5 star all the way . Highly recommend checking it out! (Only reason it didn’t get a 5 star is because they brought out my husbands food first and I waited a couple of minutes for mine and that is a big no no.

Anyways, if you are here and don’t know where to go, this is your place! 100% we ordered the ahi tuna, Mongolian beef, Thai shrimp, Korean pork, and Nashville hot.

Always love the Columbia Restaurant. This was my first time to this particular one. Being on St. Armands Circle was a bonus but nothing compares to the ambience of the original in Ybor City. Always begin with the fresh, warm, homemade crusty Cuban bread! Then onto the absolutely delicious 1905 salad. This is a MUST! From there you can't go wrong with almost any entree. I had my favorite, the Lechon Asado "1905". My date had the Palomilla. Everything was yummy! They offer scrumptious desserts as well. We were way too full. Be sure and stop in for lunch or dinner next time you are strolling the Circle.

Wife chose this spot while we were in Sarasota for one of my VA appointments. Server recommended the Half and Half. Half Cuban sandwich and half 1905 salad. So wife and I got that, came with a side of Cuban bread with butter for both of us. Food: Great. Cuban was great. Salad made at table side (Nice touch), and was great as well. Bread is not too heavy, perfect. Service: Excellent. We were checked up on more than once. Drinks refilled. Local recommendations. Atmosphere/ambiance: Great, vibrant, love the blue. Inside and outside seatings. Price: Really decent considering the location and surrounding restaurants. Would recommend.

I have been to this location three times in the last 6 months. The service standards are very high and I say this because it is an area where a majority of the guests are in town on vacation or holiday visiting the restaurant and shops in the circle. The staff has clean neat and very well kept uniforms. The restaurant, bathrooms and patio are very clean. Space between tables makes the room very comfortable. The food is excellent. Try the salad. Save room for dessert. If you like a cocktail or two try something you never thought you would try. I promise you will enjoy it.

I heard this restaurant was just opened at St Armands circle, so I had to check it out. I love vibe in this area and the restaurant didn't disappoint. I definitely recommend and I'll be back for dinner soon!

Nice restaurant.  Staff was terrific and so was the food and beverages.  We had the Macadamia Nut Encrusted Red Snapper, Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos and a burger. The Red Snapper was tasty, however, it seemed a little small. I could have eaten double the thickness or length.

Surprisingly great dinner experience! Was a bit skeptical of how the food would be, but it was much better than expected. The dishes were fresh, well balanced, and cooked just right (medium-rare on point). As a group, we had the coconut shrimp appetizer, which had a great summer coleslaw, a great classic cheeseburger, vegetarian spaghetti squash and steak salad. Across the board we are all super happy with our choices. Suggest sitting outside in the evenings on the side by the greenery or upstairs on their porch for a fun evening.

The restaurant provides a fun, relaxing vibe with its tropical decor, making visitors feel like they're on vacation in the Caribbean.
Fantastic place to grab lunch. From the staff to the food. This place was great. Sit outside have an adult beverage and people watch. The grouper bites were great as was the Cuban sandwich. But the Tabago Tuna Taco’s. These were the best taco’s that I’ve had while in Florida. The el bandido was also superb. Well done Cha Cha Coconuts!!!!

The staff at Cha Cha Coconuts was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. I really enjoyed the lobster shrimp bisque appetizer, but the rest of the meal was hit or miss. My shrimp tacos were surprisingly spicy but lacked flavor, and the drinks were unfortunately watered down, which was disappointing. The view from the patio overlooking downtown Sarasota definitely added to the experience, but overall the food and drinks didn’t quite live up to the setting.
Traci T — Google review
Definitely a spot for tourists. As long as you understand that, then the food and atmosphere are right up your alley. Good quality and good service. Nice to sit outside and look out to the shops. Live music was playing outside.

You had amazing food, the drinks are strong and the service is super friendly and helpful. It’s hard to beat the atmosphere and location. Loved the live music.

I had a fantastic experience, perfect little beach town, restaurant/bar, great food, live music, good service, and drinks. Definitely try the shrimp fondue, its superb!

If you’re looking for a laid-back Florida gem with good food and genuinely warm service, look no further than cha cha coconuts! From the moment my husband and I walked in, the relaxed coastal vibe and friendly energy made it clear this was going to be a great experience. They even had live music that was beautiful played by a man and woman playing guitar and violin! The food was delicious. We ordered the grouper bites with a side of their house-made coconut honey mustard dipping sauce — perfectly cooked & full of flavor. We also ordered the highly recommended chicken and shrimp with vegetables served in a half cut Pineapple that we’re still talking about!! Portions are generous, and prices are great for the quality! What really set this place apart, though, was the service and the staff. Our server who also was the manager whose name was Paul was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and every staff member we interacted with seemed genuinely happy to be there. They were working very hard serving large tables of people, all full of smiles! Paul checked on us mid-meal just to make sure everything was up to par. He was friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about making sure guests ( both locals and tourists) feel welcome. You can tell he leads by example —the whole staff was on point, and the positive energy flowed throughout the restaurant. Between the great food, casual beachy atmosphere, and outstanding management, cha cha coconuts is a place we’ll be recommending to everyone. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place. Great food. Excellent service. I had the lobster roll with rice. Big hunks of lobster and lots of it. Nice music not too loud.

Daiquiri Deck is a popular hangout spot with a laid-back vibe, offering an array of creative daiquiris, seafood dishes, and live music. Located near downtown Sarasota and St. Armands Circle, it attracts a younger crowd looking for a more interactive and relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor patio provides the perfect setting for people-watching while enjoying menu favorites like shrimp corn chowder, mahi-mahi wrap, and gator bites.
Ciara was our waitress and her down to earth approach made the atmosphere that much more enjoyable for us! Attentive as needed and a great resource for tourists like us. We enjoyed the views and soothing breeze from the outdoor deck and the tacos I ordered were exceptional! Any restaurant that takes pride in their simplest dishes is worth attending. Will be back next Sarasota visit and will definitely be referring our friends and family!

Probably the best coconut shrimp I’ve ever had! Our bartender was very sweet, the vibes were great and my drink was fantastic! I do kindly recommend upper management address spirit pricing for single pours versus double pours (example: it doesn’t make sense to charge $8.50 for a 1.5oz pour, but for a double which was only .5oz more, totaling 2oz, be an additional $8.50). Will be back nonetheless!

Our server, Cristina, was exceptional tonight! She was incredibly attentive, anticipating our needs without being intrusive, and had excellent suggestions from the menu that enhanced our meal. We'll definitely be returning because of the top-notch service!".

LOVE this place. Happy hour daiquiris are a good deal, but the featured drinks are even better. Key lime pie cocktail is banger, and I don't even like creamy alcohol drinks. SHOUTOUT SOPHIA!! you rock girl, hope you're here every saturday at the second floor bar

We came here for lunch with family visiting from out of town, and everyone had such a wonderful time! The food was fresh and came out quickly, and the drinks were fantastic. Ciara was managing the bar while also serving tables outside, and she did an incredible job balancing both. Her service was attentive, friendly, and made our experience even better.

We absolutely love our bartender, Ciara! They made us feel like regulars — even though it was our first visit. The drinks were perfect, the energy was upbeat, and she somehow manage to make us feel like we were the most important people there, answering all of our questions. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. The drinks were phenomenal. Will come back next time we are in town.

Place was cute. A little jazz music playing in the background. Went for lunch, our server Jack was vey nice. Food was delicious too. Loved the oysters, tasty with a crisp brine. They offered a great happy hour… all day long. To include a variety of fun tapas style plates. Chef owned and run!!

OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING AND OUR BARTENDER, FAITH… SHE IS AWESOME! We came in from out of town to celebrate our anniversary. Faith went totally above and beyond to make it special. She helped us place our order, brought out a special dessert that she chose and made the most delicious after-dinner drinks! Our dinner was amazing! From the Shrimp Tostones to the Seared Tuna….everything was on point! And the absolute icing on the cake, there was a young man working named Cooper that was just so much fun to chat with! He was so witty and genuinely concerned with us enjoying ourselves. We will be back the next time we’re in town for sure!

Very good food a little on the pricey side. Wonderful alcoholic drink selections! If you go in with a group of people and if you get a little loud, the other customers will get annoyed very quickly at this establishment it seems like. Lol

What a great place! The food is amazing, and the chef like to make unusual and surprising entrees and apps. Tonight's menu included elk meatballs... AMAZING!! The staff is incredibly kind and fun, especially my new favorite Sarasota bartender Faith. She's the best! Need a night out for great food, drink, atmosphere, with the friendliest staff? Look no further!

We stopped by for happy hour and were extremely impressed with the service, atmosphere, drinks and appetizers. Our bartender, Faith, was amazing! She was so knowledgeable, personable and customer focused! We are definitely looking forward to going back and highly recommend Element as a spot for a quick drink or a nice dinner. We noticed that some of the entrees of the guests around us were very well presented and looked delicious!

We went for Wednesday Happy Hour with $2 oysters on 1/2 shell, and great Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. The service, drinks, atmosphere and food all exceeded expectations. Oysters on the half shell, beef tacos, and fondue were all delicious. Will definitely go again.

Enjoyed dining at Element on our recent business trip to Sarasota. We had a beautiful large table outside for 12. Lovely! There were a few flies outside and the manager did not want to turn the fans on but it was nice dining outdoors anyway. I loved being right at the Main Street with people walking by. I ordered the vegan mushroom platter. I knew it was an adventurous choice since I have never had lions mane mushrooms before. It was very delicious. The presentation of it was a bit shocking because it looked like squid! Everyone was asking what in the world I ordered. I enjoyed it a lot especially the lions mane mushrooms and carrots. Our waiter Josh suggested a mocktail that was cherry almond something. It was yummy. The service - Josh was incredibly professional and accommodating. When the food came out Josh had some of the junior staff bring the plates. They put down the plates in front of random people instead of ensuring everyone got the correct dish. Some plates were exchanged around the table but one was bitten into and it was the incorrect steak meant for a different person in our party. It was a $100 steak so a very expensive mistake. We enjoyed it and I think the bathroom was really nice!

Boca Kitchen Bar & Market is a trendy restaurant and cocktail joint with locations in Sarasota and Winter Park, FL. The restaurant offers farm-to-fork dishes and a diverse wine list in an industrial-chic setting. Boca's menu features locally inspired dishes made fresh, making it a popular spot for brunch, lunch, and happy hour. The Sarasota location was chosen for its welcoming downtown energy that matches the Boca experience.
Boca Restaurant, Sarasota: An Unforgettable Dining Experience! My recent dinner at Boca Restaurant in Sarasota was truly exceptional, largely thanks to our incredible server, Roberto, and the delicious food. From the moment we sat down, Roberto made the entire dining experience great. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a wonderful, engaging personality. He offered excellent recommendations, checked on us at just the right moments, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable evening. His professionalism and warmth elevated the meal from good to outstanding. As for the food, it was very good! Each dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You could tell the ingredients were high-quality, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in its preparation. From appetizers to the main course, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Boca Restaurant, combined with Roberto's excellent service, created a truly enjoyable and satisfying dining experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for great food and top-notch service in Sarasota. We'll definitely be back!

The skirt steak we ordered (shown in the photo) was absolutely outstanding. It was cooked to perfection, exactly as we requested — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The side dishes were also very well prepared and complemented the main dish perfectly. What really stood out, apart from the quality of the food, was the service. Our waitress was extremely attentive throughout the entire evening, always checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. On top of that, the manager personally came by to ask if everything was to our liking, which added a very professional and welcoming touch to the whole experience. The rest of the food we tried was also excellent, and the restaurant itself has a perfect location right in the city center. You can easily walk there from many nearby hotels, and if you prefer to drive, there is plenty of parking available, which makes it very convenient. Overall, a fantastic dining experience — great food, wonderful service, and a location that couldn’t be better. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place where both the quality of the dishes and the hospitality truly stand out.

Cheers to Shannon 🥂 Oh and shoutout to the Mango Lemon Drops 😮‍💨 Will certainly be back here when visiting again!

14 Pi Craft Beer & Spirits is a laid-back, beachy spot on Siesta Key offering a relaxed atmosphere and a patio for enjoying pizzas, craft beers, and high-end cocktails. The bar features an array of local and national craft drafts, cans, and bottles to complement their tasty selection of burgers, tacos, fresh fish, and chicken sandwiches. On weekends, they stay open late with live music from local musicians.
Visited 27Apr25. My girlfriend and I ordered garlic knots and cheese pizza with extra cheese. Garlic knots were really good, not over done and not too squishy. Pry could have used a little more garlic, possibly some minced. The cheese pizza was good also, cheese was stringy when I picked up the piece! A little greasy. It was a bit confusing how to place your order. There wasn't a hostess or sign to say seat yourself. So my girlfriend went up to the bar and ordered. There was bar seating, a small seating section which looked deserted and a large outside seating which was shared with another restaurant. Server wasn't over the top or anything. Don't check on us at all. Outside seating had live music that was cool.

I had a terrible experience with 3.14 Pi Pizzeria. While two of the pizzas were acceptable, the other two arrived completely messed up—no cheese, no marinara, just some pepperoni thrown on top. They were burnt in the middle and broken, which is completely unacceptable. To top it off, the management was horrible and refused to refund my money, showing a complete lack of customer service. I won’t be ordering from here again and would advise others to think twice before doing so.

Really really good vegan pizza! I really appreciated the NY style crust. Friendly staff and my food came out in a timely manner hot & fresh. The atmosphere was a little confusing. You basically walk into a bar, so I wasn't 100% sure I was even the right place at first.

If you and your loved ones are looking for a great time Pi pizza is the place to go. They have an awesome atmosphere about the restaurant. The staff is amazing and on top of your every need. First off I went into this place and asked for them to make a martini and the bar tender told me we don’t have the mix for that. Mix for a martini? Another patron actually told him how to make it. This is th second time I’ve been here. It’s a bunch of locals that do not want any tourists in their place. NEVER EVER AGAIN! How is this dump still open!

We love this place, the staff are always nice, and there's often (really good) live music outside. Food is very solid, plus they're open late. A great spot to visit if you want a more adult vibe later at night, as it's far enough from the party spots that you don't catch much of that.

Located in the heart of Sarasota's historic downtown, MeLange is a modern dining spot that offers an eclectic mix of American cuisine with dishes like rabbit tacos and quail, complemented by a variety of cocktails. The restaurant prides itself on taking diners on a culinary journey around the world through its ever-evolving menu, which reflects seasonal influences, food industry trends, and Chef Lan's global travels.
If you're looking to try some unconventional food, this is the place to go! Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. I had the rabbit tacos, duck spring rolls and the beef short ribs. I had never had rabbit before and it was so tender and juicy. The texture was similar to like beef or pulled pork. The duck spring rolls were delicious and the beef short ribs just melted in your mouth. I also had the melange drink which was very balanced. I'd come back here on vacation just to go on this culinary journey again.

A small but unique restaurant with delicious food and caring staff. Menu is small but all that we ordered was prepared wonderfully and tasted great. We had the tuna tartare appetizer. Main meals were the salmon and the short ribs. The salmon was prepared. Perfect. Crispy on the outside and medium rare on the inside. My husband said his short ribs or rather his short rib was delicious! His dish was prepared with just one rib and I think he would have liked to have a little more meat. Probably would have given five stars if there were more than one short rib.

Not sure how this one escaped me until now! Another instance where our intended destination was closed, and we just happened upon this little gem. What a happy accident. The menu is fun. Venison. Duck. Quail (stuffed), oh my. We had the crab soup. Highly recommend. The stuffed quail was amazing, but the risotto and veg was so good. Also had the mushroom strudel which was light and flavorful. Ended with the crème brûlée. Awesome. Can’t wait to go back and try more.
Aaron T — Google review
What a wonderful place. We came in from Iowa. Tried many things on the menu. We had the rabbit tacos and crispy duck spring rolls for appetizer. For main course had the special which was magi Mahi and also had the Beef Short ribs. Both of them excellent also. We usually don’t order desert but we had to try Vanilla Lavender Crème Brûlée and Apple Cinnamon tart. The they were both awesome also but the Crème Brûlée was to die for.
Ron B — Google review
In all fairness we attended the tasting menu. We went in with an open mind full well knowing that it was possible that not everything might be what we liked. Unfortunately for me a lot of what Lan made became a texture, mind over matter issue for me. The items I did eat were amazing! The Panna Cota, fois Gros and boar belly, I could just not tolerate. Will need to give the regular menu a shot!
Sue A — Google review
What to say about Melange? It is truly a marriage of flavors and cuisines with friendly service. The 1 server and 2 chefs are truly champions of making a suddenly busy night into a true success. There were 2 or 3 guests in the restaurant when we arrived at 10:30 PM, and all of a sudden 2 big parties came in and it seemed like it was 7:30 PM instead, so GREAT JOB you guys! You have to, no, in fact, you MUST eat the octopus with the squid ink risotto. We love octopus and this set the bar so HIGH we don't know what to do with. The Chicken and waffles were good but they need to change the brand of waffles or maybe make them fresh at the moment. The cheese platter was great but the focaccia bread they serve completely made our night because we don't normally eat bread anymore so it made even more special!! Keep it up!
R4F4 — Google review
Excellent service and food! Everything we ordered was tasty and the presentation so beautiful, made by a knowledgeable chef. The bartender even made us drinks that weren't on the menu: one of them with Fernet Branca, malbec, cardamom and egg. My husband loves Fernet and we were surprised! We had dinner here two nights in a row since we loved the food so much and it was our last weekend in Sarasota. We ordered rabbit tacos, duck crepe, focaccia, mushroom strudel, creme brûlée and tiramisu (the best).

MVP, situated at 5200 Ocean Blvd., Siesta Key, is the exclusive sports bar in Siesta Key Villages. It provides an enjoyable atmosphere for watching games and people-watching, with a vast outdoor bar adorned with a large clock and al fresco tables along Ocean Boulevard. The menu offers American comfort foods such as burgers, chicken wings, and their popular Big Daddy Pretzel served with addictive beer cheese.
My Village Pub, also known as MVP, is a nice place to get a meal if you find yourself in Siesta Key, Florida.  The atmosphere is nice and island themed like most places in Siesta Key.  The service was good and our server was on top of things.   The food was excellent.  I got the chicken club and it did not disappoint.  The house chips were good as well.  Everyone in our party was satisfied with his or her meal as well.  I definitely recommend MVP if you're ever in Siesta Key.

Ambiance is okay and server was nice. Unfortunately the food and overall service is meh. We were sat inside, near a kitchen entrance and restrooms. During our meal, at least 3 employees hit my chair on their path to and from the kitchen. For my meal, I ordered a burger, well done, with a side of fries. The meal came out with a side of chips and a burger that was near raw. Informed our server of both issues. I was brought a plate of fries - which is all I was able to eat. This was not our first time dining at MVP, but it was probably the worst to date. Maybe it was just a one-off. But there are several other options in the village and across the bridge that are better, in my opinion.

The food was really good and the atmosphere was very fun, the waitress wasn't really involved with our table she was OK with the 18% automatic tip. We know people have bad days so she won't detour us from coming back in

We called for a to go order, and they were efficient and great! We got the chicken Caesar salad which needed dressing, and the southwest bowl with grilled shrimp. They were both delicious! The food was ready in 15 minutes and I just went in and picked it up at the bar. Service was good and I could eat this bowl every night it was that good! We’ll do this again.

We have eaten at MVP many times since it opened. Had good experiences up until tonight. We were a group of 11 and as expected we had a 45 minute wait as there are only a couple of places to seat that many people. That wasn’t the issue. Once we were seated it took a bit to get our initial waters. Our waitress was pleasant. We went ahead and placed our appetizer orders and entrees all at once. We waited probably 30 minutes for our appetizers to come out. We had to ask for appetizer plates. The pretzel and the avocado eggrolls were very good. Within 10 minutes of getting our appetizers we got our entrees. Not enough room on the table to place everything since we were still eating appetizers. Burgers and shrimp tacos were good other than one burger came without cheese even though cheese was ordered. Had to frequently ask for water refills. We will be taking a break from MVP as we feel that this was not worth the time or money. Do not recommend.

What wonderful service and caring! My husband’s sugar was dropping so I went to the bar and asked for a regular coke. The bartender also gave me a glass of orange juice. I told our waiter, Daniel to add those drinks to our check. He came out and told me the manager said not to charge us for those drinks. The food was excellent, best margarita flat bed ever! Daniel was polite and caring! I would def go back.

We had a wonderful meal at mvp with a very good server. We left a very large tip and found out today that the tip was not given to the server. It seemed to disappear when the owner cashed out for her. I wonder how many other tips are being misplaced by management. I will never return there.

Gecko’s Grill & Pub is a laid-back sports bar and grill offering a diverse menu and daily happy hour. In 2018, the pub collaborated with Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium to support marine science research by creating a specialty cocktail called The Shark Lady. This aqua-blue drink pays homage to Dr. Eugenie Genie Clark, known for her shark research.
I came down to Florida from Vermont to visit my mom at the nearby hospital in the ICU. I found the prices great and the service was top notch. The food was amazing and they got it to me quickly. My server, Emily was amazing. Efficient, knowledgeable, and quick. When I went back the next day for lunch my waitress was Bridget. She was very kind, as well as efficient, knowledgeable, and quick. I've been coming here every day while my mom is still in the hospital. This time I had a salad and added grilled chicken and it was amazing. Plus my waiter, Jace, made sure I didn't need anything. I didn't because he made sure I was good. Great server and food. My mom has gotten better and is recovering. I decided to have lunch at Gecko's Grill & Pub one last time before heading back to Vermont. I order french dip with french fries. I was in a bit of a hurry to get back to my mom. My server, Cliff, did a superb job. When I told him my story, he got things rolling quickly to get me what I needed. The restaurant is veteran friendly since they have veterans that work there. Cliff is a Marine who has two deployments under his belt.

Great food and drinks and there are many TV's all over the room so you can keep an eye on multiple games at the same time. I had the patty melt with their house made potato chips, and both tasted great. They have everything from full-on entrees to sandwiches, burgers, flat breads, wraps, and salads. In addition to beef, they offer chicken, fish, and Impossible meat burgers, so there is something for everyone if you are dining with a group. I definitely recommend and will be returning.

The best Geckos in town, hands down! Best food, servers, management and drinks! Sam, Rena, Jacob, Cliff and Nicole are the absolute best! Great place to watch sports! Check out their game day menu! 10/10 recommend their Buffalo Mac Mac and cheese bowl!
Mini G — Google review
A typical sports bar and restaurant, this Gecko's location has the best atmosphere of all the locations in this area. However, that being said, it took a long time for my wife and I to get our food after ordering. While the burger and fries were good, the grilled chicken my wife ordered was rubbery and small in size. Our server, once our food was delivered, also went MIA and did not come back to check on us to see if everything was good. The atmosphere will bring us back for another try down the road.

They have really great food as far as price you will spend about $15 to $20 dollars per person if you get appetizers. Would never recommend the Gatorade bites. The flavor is not an acquired for most people.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Sarasota on lower Main Street, El Melvin Cocina Mexicana is a vibrant culinary gem that invites you to indulge in an unforgettable dining experience. With its spacious outdoor seating and a stunning interior featuring a hand-carved 100-foot wood bar, this restaurant sets the perfect backdrop for enjoying expertly crafted margaritas. The menu is a delightful mix of traditional favorites and unique offerings; don't miss out on their Mexican street corn or the zesty adobo chicken fajitas.
Loved the handmade Guacamole with crushed 🥑's. The margaritas 🍹were spot on 😋. Lane is a great bartender, you made my evening better. We loved the live music and watching him play whatever was requested. The food was tasty, hot, and satisfying. Bathrooms were clean. A very nice evening was had. ✌️

We ate outside on the patio(sidewalk). We ordered the chicken nachos and birria burrito. The food was awesome!!! Some of the BEST consommé we've had! Excellent service also!

Fantastic service here for 20+ group of people last week. Very well organized, very helpful staff and great food and music! We highly recommend this restaurant for your next dinner affair.

The food, service and entertainment was all excellent. Took my husband to celebrate his birthday and the entertainer sang the Happy Birthday song to him which made his night! Thank you for making it a memorable evening.

Been cutting carbs so tried their Bueno Bowl. Got it with no rice extra veggies. You can choose your protein. Good portion, friendly help from the bartender, and quick service.

Once a month I attend a SWAT Networking business meeting at El Melvin and the lunch is always delicious. I had the tacos yesterday and they were fresh and served in a nice rack to keep them upright. Service is always with a smile. 20 or more lunches here and all have been served hot and tasty!

Pangea Alchemy Lab is a Euro-inspired lounge with a speakeasy vibe located on Main Street in Sarasota. To enter, you'll need to find the nondescript door in the back alley. The cocktail menu features both classic and unique concoctions that change with the seasons, offering lighter options in summer and richer flavors in winter. This intimate spot is known for its inventive craft cocktails overseen by owner and mixologist Brad Coburn.
This an absolute MUST! Found the “alley” so excited! OMG! Walked into the best atmosphere ever! Fina spend time reviewing the menu and explaining what our experience should be! Drinks were unique and perfect! The food was masterful! This is a hidden gem! I hope you find it!!

I had so much fun here! Great hospitality, great drinks. The hummus was good and much needed for the hot florida sun.
Kaldera — Google review
I loved the creativity and friendly staff. The pistachio creme brulee was okay (had a weird texture) and the apple jack cereal drink was nostalgic (they were out of Fruit Loops and Cocoa Crispies). Would recommend for a unique experience. It was pricey for what was offered and the quality. I'd give it another shot if I were in town again--maybe it was an off night. I love the concept, the vibe, and the decor--always a fan of places that are not franchises or cookie cutter.
Dominique G — Google review
The place has a nice vibe, but go earlier in the night. It's a little small and when the groups of 8+ started showing up it got a little crowded (but still bearable). The drinks were delicious (get the sour patch kids one) and the key lime blueberry parfait was so yummy!

Love this place!! Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere. Just fyi.....the entrance is in the alley behind the building.

Drinks are super creative and fun and the food is always delicious! One of the best burgers in the area and the crab rangoons were fantastic. Service wasn’t great the last time we went, nice but inattentive. Other times we’ve been, the staff was better so could have just been an off day. Would give five stars if the service was consistent. Cool little hidden spot!

It was my first time back here in a while and I was invited by friends who knew DJ Solace who was playing tonight and she was absolutely incredible. Anytime she’s here I’d love to know because I want a front row seat. The vibes were amazing the whole evening and the drinks were perfect. I had the mystery shot which was so fun and Allena was the bartender for the evening who made sure everything was on point.

Drinks were AMAZING and bar tenders were friendly. Overall vibe was cool, definitely will be back. Was a little tricky to find the entrance but that’s usually a good sign of an authentic speak easy.

Reyna's Taqueria, with its main location at Sarasota Commons and a second spot in the food court at Sarasota Square Mall, offers some of the most delectable casual Mexican fare in the Sarasota-Manatee area. Chef Gino Calleja, previously of renowned local eateries, brings his expertise to Reyna's, where patrons can enjoy indoor and covered outdoor seating with counter-to-table service.
I want small bites and it’s perfect because they sell individual tacos. $4/pc + tax. I ordered Barbacoa and Shrimp one. Both were delicious but I would recommend their Shrimp Tacos. I will definitely come back to try different food. I don’t know maybe just me, but the music was too loud. They have indoor and outdoor spaces.
Hanny M — Google review
Had birria taco for the first time. I didn't know what to expect from the consume but it was not bad. The tacos were fresh and flavorful and the red sauce they added to the side was definitely SPICY. Too spicy for this puerto rican. I also got the horchata. Never had that before either. That was very good as well. For a dessert I got a flan and I never cared for flan but decided to try it just to see if I would like it. It not bad but because I dont care for flan I wasnt a fan but it not their fault but it definitely taste like your typical flan. So I definitely will give this place more chances to try different options.
Zuly R — Google review
We wanted Birria tacos tonight and they offer this on the menu, well it did not taste like Birria at all. The tacos were good but totally lacking the Birria spices that make the flavor. The consume tasted like beef broth. I like their food it is good, but I would not have this again here.
Jennifer H — Google review
The horchata was the best. The pastor tacos were very good. The service was excellent and it was very clean and pleasantly colorfully decorated. I would visit again!

Where’s the MEAT! The most skimp and bland burrito I’ve ever had. Missing beans, cheese and FLAVOR. Doesn’t take like Mexican food, the sauce isn’t good and also didn’t taste like real authentic salsa verde. Waste of money.
Rico — Google review
Birria tacos were very good. The flavor was authentic I will say. Husband was not fond of the almost $15 soup of the day. It was mostly liquid. He couldn’t eat it all. This is a walk up and order, sit down and wait for them to bring it to you type of restaurant. Was very pricey in my opinion. Compared to a full service Mexican restaurant the prices were good.
Ashton S — Google review
The food was phenomenal, will be back next week for tacos!
Richard S — Google review
Went for lunch and was very disappointed. First the nacho chips were like cement, really hard and salsa just ok. We had tacos and there was hardly any meat and like no toppings and very dry. Honestly, I would have enjoyed taco bell better and I don't particularly think that is all that good. I honestly question these reviews or most just have no clue what good food really is....

Night club
Bar
Located in a historic building dating back to 1912, The Gator Club is a popular late-night spot in downtown Sarasota. This two-story brick establishment has a rich history, having served as a Prohibition-era bar and even a filming location for the movie 'Palmetto.' Today, it's known for its vibrant nightlife scene with live music on the ground level and DJ sets upstairs.
Really nice local bar right on Main Street. No food is served, but there are many options right down the street. They have entertainment many nights. E.g. Tuesday is Pornobingo (see separate Google Maps place for info), Thursday is dancing with DJ and live music. We were there on a Tuesday for Pornobingo (fun) and the bartender made amazing drinks. It was kind of quiet until 9pm, but then the atmosphere got going.

Not the best experience had the bouncer let his roommates in for free. The second bouncer got mad at my date because he said something about it. Customer service is top-tier and they’re charging people the amount of money to get into your club. It should be valued for everyone not just certain people.
Merkabah W — Google review
An excellent experience for a night out listening to live music. Huge 2 floor establishment that boasts multiple bars and friendly staff. Great live music venue if you are ok with it being a little cramped. Overall, great spot for groups, solo, or a fun date night.

VERY RACIST! do not go! they had a karaoke night and the host was ESPECIALLY racist. We confronted him and he had nothing to say and turned his back to us. It’s really a disgrace and sad this day and age! DO NOT GO!!!!

I attended the Halloween contest at the Gator Club in Sarasota last night, and unfortunately, it was quite a disappointment. Despite the event being advertised online, they only provided a handful of tickets for the contest. My friend, who spent weeks perfecting her costume, arrived early but couldn’t participate. The event felt disorganized and frustrating, and it was definitely not what we expected. Because of this experience, I do not recommend attending any future events at the Gator Club.
Chris M — Google review
Checked out Johnny Diamond at Gators last month and had to stay for their whole show. Loved their retro selection and personal spin. It was busy and happening but not packed. No wait for cocktails, room to hang out, and plenty of dancing. $5 cover was a bargain. Nice to have music that rocks and plays past 11 pm. The Gator Club certainly provides a rare and needed service to the Sarasota community and I thank them. Running a 2 AM dance club with live music (and DJ upstairs) can’t be easy. It gives service industry folk a chance to enjoy weekends as well. Almost every other place is empty and closed before midnight.
Eric E — Google review
Security asked us to leave for no reason, processed to punch and push us on the way out in front of the cops… of coarse they won’t do anything. Might be a good ground for a lawsuit, in case anyone is going there, bring your lawyer with you.
Andriy S — Google review
Looking for a lively and historic spot to grab a drink in Sarasota? Look no further than The Gator Club. Housed in a building that dates back to the 1920s, The Gator Club has been a local institution for decades. The atmosphere is classic and inviting, with plenty of cozy nooks and crannies to settle into and enjoy your evening. One of the highlights of The Gator Club is the upstairs whiskey bar, which boasts an impressive selection of top-shelf whiskeys from around the world. Whether you're a connoisseur or just looking to try something new, the knowledgeable staff will be happy to guide you through the extensive selection. But The Gator Club is more than just a great place to enjoy a drink. Live music is a staple here, with local and regional acts taking the stage most nights of the week. The acoustics are great, and the energy is always high. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a holiday, The Gator Club has you covered. They throw some of the best block parties in town, complete with live music, drink specials, and plenty of festive decorations. One thing to note is that The Gator Club has been a smoke-free establishment for several years. But don't worry, there's still plenty of room to smoke outside, and you can even bring your drink with you. Overall, The Gator Club is a great spot to relax and have fun. So grab some friends and head over for a night of live music, great drinks, and good times.
