Lytham Hall is a Palladian-style country house located about a mile away from the town center. Built in 1764, it features Italianate gardens, heritage parkland, and a tearoom. The estate has a rich history dating back to the 12th century and has undergone various ownership changes and periods of ruin. Visitors can explore the 80 acres of mature parkland for a nominal fee on weekends while entry is free on weekdays.
What a true find, fantastic historic house, tour guides were fantastic, really helpful and friendly, so interesting to see how the charity have brought it back to life. The cafe was tasty and well priced, great even for a walk round the woods and grabbing a cuppa. Great value for money and worth a visit.
Lisa J — Google review
I visited the grounds here with a friend and her little dog, lovely area for walking and a lovely cafe too. The gardens are wonderful thanks to all the wonderful volunteers. On this occasion I didn’t visit the hall though one day I will. Definitely a place to visit
James — Google review
Great place to visit. Had afternoon tea with friends and had a lovely walk around the extensive grounds. The weather was perfect for our visit and it was lovely to see the willow sculptures. Need to book another visit to go around the hall which we didn't have time to do on this occasion.
Carol B — Google review
Always a pleasure to visit Lytham Hall, the grounds are beautiful and accessible. The kitchen garden is flourishing even at this time of year. The cafe is very good value for money and the food is excellent. Seeing the willow sculptures they had on display this year were so beautifully made by a local artist. I have yet to so the tour of the house but definitely on my to do list. There is also a great little garden centre, just a lovely day out
Annie M — Google review
Decided to take a little walk around the house while visiting a car show within the grounds and so very glad we did. Absolutely worth the money in. The staff and guides all around the house were so very welcoming, all spoke with such passion about the house, the family and history of the place. You have a remarkable team there for sure. The house itself is just stunning. The food in the cafe was brilliant and the cafe staff were all wonderful too despite it being exceptionally busy. Well worth the visit for sure. Will spend more time exploring the surrounding grounds on our next trip too!

Lots to see in the hall. Very nice gardens still in bloom. Cafe very reasonable but up stairs. Great woodland walks and sculptures.
Steve F — Google review
Lytham Hall Today we stepped back in time with a visit to Lytham Hall, a magnificent 18th-century Georgian house set in 78 acres of peaceful parkland. Hard to believe that when Cuthbert Clifton first acquired the land in 1606, it stretched across more than 8,000 acres. From the moment you walk through the grand entrance hall, the house is breathtaking. Every room glows with the character and stories of the Clifton family, who lived here for generations. The Italian plasterwork gleams above your head, the walls are lined with family portraits spanning centuries, and in the Gold Drawing Room, delicate hand-painted wallpaper seems to shimmer in the light. The Dining Room is another highlight, with Gillows furniture, including an exquisite curved mahogany servery, surrounded by fine china, silverware, lamps and beautifully dressed tables. Every corner has been lovingly curated — it feels less like a museum, more like stepping straight into the family’s world. The Staircase Hall is a showstopper. A sweeping Gillows mahogany staircase rises beneath a Venetian-style window, its opaque glass casting a soft glow. Above, Jupiter, king of the gods, gazes down from the ceiling — a dramatic reminder of the grandeur of the house. Upstairs, the journey through history continues. Bedrooms have been recreated in different eras — Edwardian, Victorian, Jacobean — offering a glimpse of how the Clifton family would have lived through the centuries. One suite is particularly poignant: the rooms once occupied by Violet Clifton, who lived here until her death in 1961. By then, the Clifton fortune had all but vanished, thanks to her son Harry’s gambling and excesses. The guides bring these stories alive with colourful tales. There’s the scandalous night Harry locked his wife Lilian out of the bedroom after a drunken argument; she attempted to climb along a balcony to get back inside, only to fall 30 feet. Miraculously, she survived — though with more than a few broken bones. Then there’s the tragic-comic story of young “Stiffy Clifton”, who broke his neck sliding down the bannister as a boy but lived on to serve in the Boer War, forever stiff-necked but unbowed. Violet herself was a formidable figure, remembered less for kindness than for ruthlessness. Offend her, and she could ruin your life. When she dismissed her chef for possessing a tin of Bird’s custard powder, she went so far as to have her lawyers block him from ever working again. She even sought to have a man deported for killing a hare to feed his sick wife. Her reputation as vindictive is still very much alive in the stories whispered through these halls. As you wander further, the surprises continue: replica costumes, intricately detailed dolls’ houses, and even a World War II hospital room complete with accounts from the wounded soldiers who once convalesced here. Each room layers history upon history, making it impossible not to be swept up in the drama of the house and its people. After such an extraordinary tour, Lytham Hall’s charm lingers on in the little touches: a café brimming with old-world character, the irresistible shelves of the Preludes bookshop (yes, I succumbed to temptation and bought a few!), and the quaint garden centre tucked away in the grounds. Lytham Hall is more than just a historic house — it’s a living storybook, full of beauty, scandal, and secrets. An absolute treasure.

Lytham Hall is such a lovely spot. The gardens are really pretty and it’s a nice place for a gentle walk. I especially liked the curtains pond, so peaceful, with fishermen dotted around. There’s also a cafe on site & the parking is reasonably priced which is always a bonus.

Beautiful gardens, twisting pathways, ponds, sunken garden. Perfect for a gentle stroll, in historical, peaceful surroundings. Just long enough for those who may have difficulty walking, you can lengthen, shorten your walk to your ability on the day. Lovely with nature stroll, some disabled parking close to the entrance too and places for refreshment. Highly recommend or combine with popping into the shops Lytham St Anne's. For the very young, with play areas, tranquil areas for those wanting peace and a relaxed reset and great for couples, friends to chat and walk.

I love feeding the ducks on Ashton Gardens - so peaceful (make sure it’s suitable food though - I get duck food from my local pet shop) it’s a lovely short walk around the pond area and takes you through to the local town of St Anne’s In The Sea.

Lake
Fairhaven Lake is a picturesque saltwater lake located between the sea and the Inner Promenade. It spans about half a mile and features two islands, abundant birdlife, and well-kept gardens. Visitors can enjoy various water sports such as sailing, motor boating, and rowing. The area also offers amenities like a skate park, BMX track, tennis courts, bowling greens, and a fitness trail.
First proper visit here despite living in Blackpool and it certainly did not disappoint! Just a lovely and relaxing place to be, really nice to see so many people enjoying themselves here as well. Unfortunately the boats were not operating due to a natural water algae bloom but it was well publicised throughout the Lakeside and it's something to do next visit. Looking forward to returning soon.

Great place for a scenic walk. The lake on one side and the beach on the other. Pretty and peaceful. Plenty of benches to stop for a rest, too! Took some sandwiches and enjoyed the fresh air.

The Lowther Pavilion Theatre & Gardens is a historic cultural and entertainment hub located in the oldest park in Lytham St. Annes. The theater, built in 1921, hosts a variety of performances from family-friendly plays to unique acts like juggling on a motorbike. With events ranging from yoga classes to outdoor theater and 1940s-style dance classes, there's something for everyone. The adjacent gardens also offer activities such as children's story time and movie-making weeks.
Lovely gardens to walk round and sit in. Paddle courts available, bowling green and small 18 hole putting course. Little cafe shop and ice-cream kiosk. Paid parking in the park but plenty of free parking around the outside. Lovely fountain and pond with fish in and how can I possibly forget, the wonderful memorial statue of Bobby Ball ! Definitely worth a visit, wonder around nature and have a relax in the fresh air (and sunshine).

Went for the first time in years. What a brilliant place to visit. Lots to see do Great for kids as well. Parking is £3.50 for all day, this includes disabled in a disabled parking space.

We visited the Panton Arms around 7:30 Friday when it was busy, but the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The barman joked about squeezing us in and found us a table for two. Service was relaxed and welcoming throughout. Amanda had the pizza, I went for the chicken curry (which was excellent), and we finished with a refreshing sorbet ice cream. Good food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and all at a fair price – definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful sunny, warm weather on our first visit to Lowther Gardens. Spring flowers still, mostly, in bloom. Enjoyed watching lawn bowls and enjoyed a coffee at the cafe. Good place for young families.

It is a lovely place to visit. The gardens are amazing whatever the season. It is wheelchair friendly and there is parking. There is a cafe next to the pavilion which serves lovely meals, snacks and drinks etc which are reasonably priced. The pavilion appears well organised, and there is quite a variety of shows to choose from. It's definitely a favourite of mine to visit.

Visited here a couple of week ago with my mum. Very friendly staff, scanned our tickets and there were plenty of attendants if you were struggling to find your seat. We went to see the Glenn Miller Big Band show, which I had bought as a gift for my mums birthday. The show was great and she absolutely loved it, foot tapping and clapping along throughout the evening. There was a half time interval, where we bought drinks and ice-creams from the concessions stand. Staff were quick and friendly and kept the queue moving. They take card and cash. Good venue, very accessible and plenty of people on hand for assistance if needed.

Fairhaven Lake is a delightful destination that offers a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation for visitors of all ages. This expansive green space features an array of activities, including boating on the serene lake, where you can even paddle out to a charming island. Families will appreciate Adventure Land, designed specifically for children, as well as the outdoor cinema that adds a unique touch to your visit. With tennis courts—both grass and hard surface—and crown green bowling available, there's no shortage of ways to stay active.
Large lake next to the shore between Lytham and St Annes, good for walkers and dog walkers nice cafe and a spitfire memorial next to the car park.

Really lovely place to have a walk with so many things to do. You can hire a boat to go to the island in the middle, there is a park for the little ones an outdoor cinema and a bunch more. Would highly recommend
MarkAnt.39 — Google review
I used to come here when I was little and back then it seemed huge. I haven't been round the lake though for years, even though mum retired to St. Annes. This is a great space. It has much to offer for all the family. From Adventure Land for the kids, boating on the lake itself, tennis on both hard courts and on grass, bowling (crown green that is, not the ten pin sort), food, toilets, loads of park benches and as for the ducks and swans ..... Oh My Lord!! So many ducks and they're not afraid to waddle round your feet!! There is one thing that as far as I know isn't in any other park and that is the Spitfire memorial. It's sobering to see it up close and see how small they were. Whatever your thoughts on wars and militaria, the bravery of the very young men who took to the skies to protect their country and freedom can't be underestimated. It's also a thing of beauty in aesthetics and engineering . Fairhaven itself however is a place to relax, be with friends and family, walk the dog or just walk, grab a bite, a refreshing ice cream, or just a moment of peace, at least when the weather is fine.
Jayne B — Google review
A lovely peaceful walk around the lake with a cafe, pub and stalls on hand as well as the facility to hire a boat on the lake. Perfect for kids with the large park & ice cream shack too, would highly recommended for a relaxing afternoon with a great view.
Alex T — Google review
Great place for families to enjoy a picnic, some sun and a boat ride around the park. It was nice to know a little history that this park remained open even before in times of war.

A pretty little lake with a good path to walk around. There's a cafe and toilets (there's a charge to use them though). You can hire a boat or canoe and there is a lot of bird life around. The Spitfire Memorial is just next to the lake and worth a look.

What a fantastic park! The children had a thoroughly good time and we will definitely be back.

We've been over a dozen times and fantastic for the kids (and dads) & a great way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. The cafe is a bit slow with orders causing queues and not much room inside but more tables outside if it's not raining. Overall very very good and all the outside activities are free!
Kevin M — Google review
An absolutely great park, so many varied things to do for children of all ages. Very well maintained, very well planned out and loved by the many children that were there when we visited including our grand daughter Well done everyone involved, fully endorsed by this family

Decent spot. Toilet facilities need major work especially when large football tournaments are on

The garden provides convenient amenities such as nearby parking and restrooms, making it an ideal place to unwind and appreciate tranquility.
Peaceful and pleasant to sit in

A quiet little garden sheltered by sand dunes, with a lifesize bronze statue of much loved comedian Les Dawson at its centre. Some unusual artworks along the back wall. The info panels about showbiz stars in one of the shelters made interesting reading. Never realised so many famous people have lived in Lytham St Annes! There's a car park right next to the garden and toilets close by.
Valerie H — Google review
A surprising little garden, dedicated to humour, and tranquility. Rockery plants in the walls, stone creations, and statues.
