Ibirapuera Park is a renowned urban park in Sao Paulo, often compared to Central Park. It offers a serene escape from the bustling city, with beautiful landscaping and architecture designed by Oscar Niemeyer. The park features museums, a planetarium, auditoriums, and recreational areas with bike paths and courts. Despite being highly urbanized, it provides an opportunity to experience Brazilian nature with diverse native fauna and flora.
Went to Sao Paulo for work and visited this park. Its a perfect oasis in middle of bustling traffic muddled city. It has few lakes, jogging tracks and cycling tracks. Wonderful views of city skyline. Museum entrance is also near gate 10. Small kiosks all around the park selling coconut water and other refreshments.
Jaimin G — Google review
Largest park in the city, it has nice roads for running and walking along with bicycle lines. It has a lake with River with plenty of grass areas to just sit and relax. We enjoyed it in a sunny day on Sunday and lots of people go to exercise and work out. Lots of local people just enjoying with their families Park has plenty of small stores to get snacks, water and natural coconut water which is great, however did not see a larger restaurant to get meals, just mobile spots for quick grab and go. There are public bathroom but can get crowded Green areas and well maintained although they could be better, trees are mostly tropical. There is a museum, planetary and Japanese site but did not go to those.
Living P — Google review
I truly had a memorable day here, filled with joy and discovery. The blend of sport, leisure, and art offered a warm, inviting atmosphere that made me feel nice. Don't miss the Biennale; it's a cool experience. Take a leisurely jog among the locals and relax by sipping fresh coconut milk straight from its shell—simple moments that can bring so much joy.
Máté S — Google review
We really enjoyed this park, went there for the visit one day and went back and walked almost around the entire loop. Love all the birds, ducks, Ingrids and other spices. We really enjoyed watching all the people get involved in different activities and plenty to do there for all ages, but I really loved looking at the fauna and the flora. The trees were incredible. I WOULD RECOMMEND
Cindy L — Google review
It’s an absolute pleasure to walk in this park but keep in mind it’s huge. Plenty of cafes and shops to buy a fresh coconut or any other drinks, lots of bench’s to sit and relax or just watch people performing different instruments in the nature. I saw a lot of families spending time here with kids or having a meal. Definetly worth walking around
Gabriela B — Google review
Lovely park with varied green spaces, you can hire a bike or quad style bike with separated lanes. There are plenty of stands for snacks and the ever present coconut water. There is a japanese garden and a planetarium and art gallery all located inside the park. Loads to do you can easily spend a whole day here.
Shenol L — Google review
I have to say this is one of the best parks I've ever been to. From coconut water stands, to acai spots, and great running tracks. A great place for grounding in a concrete jungle.

Ona warm Sunday, the park is a giant playground for adults and kids alike. Crowded and friendly a great place to just hang out

Specialty Museums
Museu do Futebol is a unique sports museum located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It stands out as the only museum in the world exclusively dedicated to football, independent of any specific club. The museum features a multimedia collection, interactive exhibits, and references to significant moments in Brazilian history during the 20th century. With an investment of R $32.5 million, it has become one of the city's major tourist attractions.
The tour around the museum is short, bit it's definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a football fan. The history is quite something and there's a souvenir shop on the spot.
Filip M — Google review
Great museum about all aspects of the sport, in all its varieties and historical significances. I think it's worth the visit even for people who don't particularly like the sport in itself. The museum explains the particular Brazilian culture of the football in the bairros. Women's football is also talked about a lot. At the end of the museum, you can make some attempts to score goals yourself. The store on the side is also very varied!
Arne S — Google review
A really good football museum, but be aware that a lot of things aren't translated into English. It's also sustainable for kids so if you have a family you can have for sure a nice interactive experience. I gave 4/5 stars because the museum don't offer english translation and it could be crowded of children. But it's still really interesting and a really good set up.
Vittoria B — Google review
The museum is an interesting place to visit for a few hours. There’s not much written in English, but you can download an audio guide using their free WiFi. Clearly it was great to learn how football was brought to the country by an English man! The exhibits are well constructed and informative. We also got lucky and watched a little football in the stadium that the museum sits in.
Tony P — Google review
I went there twice, and both times I was not disappointed. When I went with my father he was really happy to have gone. Lots of things to see, the evolution of the game, the cleats, the ball, history of all of the clubs in Brazil. Cool activities to try. Plus you can purchase any jersey of any team you like and personalize the jersey. Fun thing to remember the visit.
Willi S — Google review
Great place to visit if you like football & would like to learn about the history of the sport in Brazil. The museum has interactive games, videos & clips of fantastic moments of football. It’s worth a visit.
Mo H — Google review
It is an interesting museum about Brazilian football and worth visiting if you are a football fan.
Yuan Z — Google review
The museum’s interactive exhibits bring the beautiful game to life, showcasing Brazil’s rich football legacy through historic photographs, videos, and memorabilia. Highlights include sections dedicated to legendary players like Pelé, Garrincha, and Zico, as well as emotional moments like World Cup victories. The interactive displays, such as recreating the sounds of a stadium crowd, make the experience truly immersive. It’s not just about football—it also explores its impact on Brazilian culture, identity, and society. Whether you’re a football fan or just curious about Brazil’s greatest passion, the Museu do Futebol is a must-visit when in São Paulo.

Museum
The Museu da Língua Portuguesa, located near Luz station in Brazil, is an interactive museum dedicated to the study of Portuguese language and its development. It showcases the various accents and dialects of Portuguese spoken across Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. The museum's exhibits also explore the influence of other languages on Brazilian Portuguese.
This was wonderful. It's one of the best museums I've been to in my life. It gives a rich cultural exhibition of the Brazillian people and their language. At the moment there is a temporary exhibition on the influence of African languages on Brasil. I hope when it finishes they can add some of the materials into the full exhibition, as it is very well done. My only criticisms were that the temporary exhibition space needs more seating. I was forced to move floors when I needed to sit down.
Stephen B — Google review
One of my greatest experiences in São Paulo, I enjoyed every moment over there, I had to pay 25 BRL, but they were absolutely worth it. I would come over and over. My only recommendation would be having signs to know where to start and where to go because it is not very clear where should we start and follow directions.
Carlos N — Google review
Visiting the Portuguese Language Museum was a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The museum is free on Saturdays so it was a bit busy. It is located in the Luz train station which makes it accessible by public transport and interesting to witness the history and architecture of the station. The museum was recently renovated with interactive exhibits. We particularly enjoy the Language of the Immigrants and history/timeline of language development exhibits. We also enjoyed listening to different dialects found throughout various regions of Brazil. It was difficult to hear the audio exhibits due to the noise from the quantity of visitors. There was a long line to enter the museum since it was both a Saturday and entry was free.
Lindsay C — Google review
Unimpressed by the Portuguese Language Museum. It was just nothing special... Some cool stuff, and learning about how language has developed is *kinda* fun, but really not the greatest. It's a small museum, in my opinion overpriced, and not great value for money.
Tywin L — Google review
The museum is wonderful, and its didactic approach feels very up to date. It has a lot to offer and showcases the Portuguese language on different levels and in many fascinating ways. There are interactive tools, videos, and insights into the complex history of language development. Right at the beginning, on the top floor, there is a cinema hall and an immersive room experience. Unfortunately, my level of Portuguese is not quite sufficient to fully grasp everything in depth. Still, I was able to take away the poetry of the language. Yet here lies a small drawback of the museum: it’s a pity that it isn’t more accessible to international visitors, as it is very much geared towards local and school classes. That’s completely understandable and also quite charming. But at times the balance feels a bit uneven, since there are no signs, brochures, tour guides, or introductions available in English that would make access a bit more inclusive.
S M — Google review
Great museum with a lot of fascinating, immersive content. As someone who does not speak Portuguese, I was able to use Google translate to understand everything. Excellent exhibits and worth visiting.
Philip H — Google review
I loved being there and seeing all the amazing exhibits. It is a beautiful place. However it was very chaotic. Lots of sounds of numerous exhibits were on top of one another. At points it was hard to take. I couldn’t find a way to get any translations of anything. But it’s still certainly worth a visit for anyone, regardless of your native language.
Hans S — Google review
Beautiful Exhibition. It was very interesting and informative. Very interactive with modern elements and nicely laid out. It was free of cost (at least on the Saturday afternoon in March that I visited). Located inside the same building as a train station that is also a beauty on its own. There's also a coffee shop on the premises and a beautiful partk and another exhibit right across the street, so there's much to do in one location for an afternoon out. Definitely recommend as a fun thing to do in Sao Paulo.

Museu Catavento, located in the heart of Sao Paulo, is an interactive science museum housed in a beautifully restored Palacio das Industrias. Opened in 2009, it offers a hands-on experience for visitors of all ages and aims to provide social and educational experiences. The museum features engaging exhibits on science and technology, making learning fun for both children and adults.
I was thoroughly impressed by this museum. I loved the ample amount of cheap parking, the huge outdoor area, the beautiful architecture of the buildings, the history of the place, etc. This place was very good for small children because they could move around much of the area unrestricted with a parent’s watchful supervision.

Absolutely brilliant and interesting inside out. You will find infos about transportation and how it evolved in time, replicas and real trains, planes. Inside you can check the wild nature based photography expo, be mesmerised by optic illusions, learning physics through games and experimenting or see the evolution and extinction of life on earth. There is also an anatomy section which describes the processes in the body and presents the human DNA at a huge scale.

Great museum and a positively surprising experience. Enjoyed learning about Brazil’s landscape and vegetation zones. Some experiments were also new to me. So all in all a pleasant afternoon.

The museum is incredible, with so many things to see! It's an ideal place for families due to the numerous interactive exhibits. The first floor is geared more towards children, while the second floor features plenty of reading materials, so I recommend it for ages 12+. The architecture is truly stunning. Just one tip: arrive early to have a better chance to explore and play with everything.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The kids enjoyed the dedicated play area and the swimming pool. The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs, even arranging a late check-out. The rooms were spacious and very clean, perfect for our family.

We are a family of 6 (kids- 15, 13, 8 and 6 yrs old) and we all loved this interactive museum. Lots for the kids to engage with, and all set in beautiful surroundings. Was a little crowded on account of the tickets being free, but what a joy to be able to experience this gratis✨️

Good place to visit, but all the information is only in Portuguese. As is common in São Paulo, very few people speak English or Spanish, and they seem annoyed if you don’t understand. Even when the place is empty, you get the feeling you’re wasting their time.

You can’t know if it is open or not. We arrived mid day travelling from the city center. To celebrate a birthday of my husband we booked in advance the tea room for 26 adults ! We were very disappointed with what we remembered a few years ago of the service that the dar call the English Tea party ! The service was terrible , at 3 o’clock without announcing anything they put on a sideboard , 3 tea pots . No one knew if you had help yourself or somebody was coming to serve you . Some saw the tea pots and went to help themselves ; what was the tea pots was water for tea but cold , Coffee also cold and Hot chocolate , that was also cold …,,The service was poor because there was One waiter for our event who had also to take care of the guests that were seated on the other tables who were not our guests ….! It was a mess!!!! At the end of the two hours that was supposed to last the party the started serving the English pastry , that was the only thing that reminded us of the English Tea that they used to serve 25 years ago ! And they brought the sweets just when the people were leaving ……..What a disappointment for us and for the guests !!

Fantastic place inside of São Paulo. The brunch is expensive, but it’s worth every cent. The place was the former house of an entrepreneur, converted in a brunch place, art gallery and park. It’s nice to take a walk, eat, take another walk, eat again (repeat). You can park your ride inside the park, no need to worry about that.
Guilherme F — Google review
The architectonic relevant house transformed in museum with some beautiful peaces, with one downside, you cant take pictures inside the house. There's a really cozy cafe and a surprising park really worth visiting, and on selected Sundays they concerts. I recommend.

Beautiful building and garden, but the brunch could be better. The breads could be fresher and better quality. It is missing more care with the food. People that goes there in general appreciate good food. As we are in São Paulo, and have very good suppliers from good and special food. It should be explored more for a so beautiful place.

(Translated by Google) The museum is very interesting and tells the story of the civil police of São Paulo through historical objects. There is also a section dedicated to weapons and another to forensic science. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. I do not recommend visiting the museum for people who are sensitive to strong images or for children because some of the exhibits are quite graphic. You should also be careful about where you are located because there is no sign indicating the location. (Translated by Google) Today I satisfied my curiosity and visited the Crime Museum at the São Paulo Police Academy. It's incredible to realize the depths of human capacity, which, in truth, shouldn't be considered that way. So many crimes without mercy for their victims. The intelligence and talent of the police officers in recreating the murderers in wax figures is also impressive. One of them is the Maníaco do Parque and the Cruz Vermelha; how perfect! In closing, I want to thank Mr. Léo, who greets visitors with such joy and empathy. It's wonderful to be welcomed this way! It could be open to the public on Saturdays. The Geosciences Museum in Brazil possesses one of the most extensive collections of rocks and minerals in the country. It offers an enjoyable experience for visitors, who have the opportunity to arrange guided tours with knowledgeable monitors that provide detailed explanations about every aspect of the museum's exhibits. Entry to this remarkable establishment is free, making it highly accessible for anyone interested in exploring and expanding their knowledge about our world through its geological formations.
Miss this place a lot. As a student, I was always inspired by the Museum on its many settings/displays, over the years... But, truth to be told: Kudos for the almighty, and one of the main (if not "the" main) promoters and executers of the most significant improvement the Museum got over the past 30 years...: Professor Luiz Eduardo Anelli... Thank you very much Sir. I saw you being, sometimes, considered a "silly dreamer"... Given their lack of commitment and passion from these people, It's clear that they were simply not capable, neither could predict your' HUGE and impressive contribution for the Museum - as well as the Institute)... Miss your classes and your "silly/dreaming" conversations... regardless of WHO you were inspiring... newbies like myself... ☺️ Thank you Anelli! 🙌🏼🤟🏼

(Translated by Google) The museum boasts a beautiful collection. You can see stones from different regions of Brazil and other countries as well. Some of the stones are truly fascinating to observe. The collection seems very organized, and the information is provided in a very educational way. It's an interesting place for both children and adults. One suggestion for improvement would be better signage of the museum's location, including within the geology faculty itself, as we couldn't find any information indicating that the museum is on the second floor. The day we went, there was an excavation activity for children, and my kids loved it.

On the day I went, there were several children participating in an educational activity, which shows that the space is also great for visits with children. (Translated by Google) Incredible classes, Professor Ricieri has an excellent teaching method where complex concepts are broken down and explained one by one until they are understood, with lots of application examples (taken from years of real consulting work he has done for several companies) and all of this taught with humor and a lot of dedication from the professor. It is unlike any online class I have seen out there. That is why the classes are in person and I hope he keeps it that way. In conclusion, it is worth every minute. (Translated by Google) The museum is a very beautiful, organized place, full of details that enchant and surprise those who visit. I attended the lecture and started the course “Mathematics Applied to Life”. I understood that it was a single course, with 12 classes, but after starting the classes I learned that it was only the first module of a total of 5, and each module costs R$3,500. So the full course would cost R$17,500. This was not clear before I enrolled. The course is interesting, the teacher has good teaching skills, holds the student's attention, and is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about what he does. The beginning is about the History of Mathematics, and then focuses on the concepts. It is a course designed for the student to become a professional in the exact sciences, and there is the idea that after completing the 5 modules the student will be able to provide consulting services, with the possibility of an excellent financial return. Although the name of the course is Mathematics Applied to Life, we see a lot of theory and proofs of the origin of the theorems, but still no practical applications. For me, it was a great review of Calculus I and II in a few well-explained classes, without exercises. There is a lot of talk about the professor's million-dollar consulting services. I imagined that more details, examples, and explanations of the solution would be given, but they are only shown as trophies and I believe with the objective of encouraging the student to participate in the other modules. The material provided is a large quantity of loose, unnumbered sheets of paper. The material is even well-made and attractive, but I had to buy a catalog folder and put the sheets one by one in plastic so as not to run the risk of messing up the pages and getting lost. The Sunday class starts at 7:25 a.m., goes straight through to 11 a.m., where there is a 10-minute break, and the class continues until about 2 p.m. Just like in the introductory lecture, in the course the professor also talks a lot about his life, his achievements, his autobiography, makes jokes that I consider to be in bad taste and gives details about his life that are completely unnecessary and can cause some discomfort, and take up a lot of time. The class could last at least 2 hours less. The museum has a parking lot on the same street (paid separately) and curiously, in the first few days, students who park on the street are approached by museum employees and the owner of the parking lot. His insistence on using the parking lot bothered me. The course and the professor have some fans, people who take the same module more than once. In module 1 that I took, there were some students I already knew. This is a very particular issue, for me it didn't work, it was very different from what I was looking for. I wanted to do this complete review because I would have liked to have read something like this before starting. If you are interested, you can watch the lecture, which has a good summary of what the course will be about. A aula poderia durar 2 horas a menos, no mínimo.

Casa do Tatuapé, also known as the oldest house in the East zone, is considered a significant landmark in the neighborhood. It houses the oldest collection of the Sao Paulo City Museum and is believed to have been built between 1668 and 1698. Throughout its history, it has served various purposes such as a pottery for tile and brick production in the mid-19th century, and later as the headquarters of Tecelagem Textilia in the 20th century.
(Translated by Google) Built between 1668 and 1698 using the rammed earth technique, the Casa do Tatuapé is one of the few rural buildings from the colonial period still standing in the city of São Paulo. Its location, close to the Tietê River and the Tatuapé Stream, is directly related to the environmental conditions and ease of movement and transportation, since the rivers were major suppliers of mineral and food resources and veritable means of transportation. Around 1836, the house began to develop pottery activities. Its activity changed in the first half of the 20th century, when the property was sold to Tecelagem Textília S/A. In addition to the historical and archaeological aspects of the spaces, the city's museum also hosts interesting exhibitions about society. (Translated by Google) Casa Tatuapé (the oldest house in the East Zone) and considered the neighborhood's number 1 house. The oldest collection in the Museum of the City of São Paulo. Possibly built between 1668 and 1698. In the mid-19th century, it housed a brickworks where tiles and bricks were produced, and in the 20th century, it was the headquarters of Tecelagem Textilia. However, understanding the original relationships with the landscape of this rare remnant of colonial architecture in the Tatuapé neighborhood is difficult due to the drastic reduction of its land, the rectification of the Tietê River and the channeling of the Tatuapé Stream. Located near the Tietê River and the Tatuapé Stream, the choice of its location is directly related to the environmental conditions and ease of movement and transportation, since the rivers were major suppliers of mineral and food resources and true means of transportation. Tietê River. And it was from this river that the clay for the Museum's walls was taken to build the house. A characteristic of colonial buildings on the São Paulo plateau, the use of the rammed earth technique consisted of pounding the clay well between vertical wooden planks (taipal) with a pestle, thus forming thick walls. Occupied for over 300 years, the Casa do Tatuapé was a place where many people lived, socialized and worked. A rural building for most of the colonial period, in 1836, the space was the first to feature "pottery houses covered with straw and a tile oven". The entire building was built by indigenous people who were enslaved and, according to neighbors, it is possible to hear screams, drumming and the sound of chains dragging through the space. They say that these are the spirits of the enslaved, who still await justice. Incredible experience with the educator and university philosophy professor named Marcel, who is an excellent connoisseur of the history of the place and the history of Brazil, in addition to intelligent philosophical debates. The space has a beautiful garden and a 150-year-old brazilwood tree. The map of the rivers in the region is interesting, comparing it to the current scenario of the Tietê River.

(Translated by Google) The house is lovely, one of the few points of connection with a São Paulo that no longer exists. Although I loved it, it was the unit that I found weakest of the ones I visited and its best attribute is the old house. A few more reasons: First, the permanent exhibition is short. I expected to see more about the history of the neighborhood and its development, but it is more focused on the history of the house and tries to tell about the daily lives of those who lived there. But in this last part it leaves something to be desired, despite trying to do so with the few photos, texts and archaeological objects. Second, the museum project is not very ambitious. Although the permanent exhibition is short, it has a clear connection with the museum project, which is meant to be something you pass through. It is set up to be something secondary if you are in the region (I myself only went because I was in Belém Park with time to spare). It is not intended to be the highlight of your visit to the region. That is why the museum lacks permanence, there are no benches and the space around the house is small and cramped. Third, what really ruins the museum is the lack of connection with the region. The house is already hidden in an area of individual residences where I remember only one sign indicating the way. When you arrive, you will see that it is squeezed in there by the other houses on a small plot of land. It is a mistake not to have expanded the plot of land by creating a square, which could have been the whole block or at least just half of it. It would even be good to put another public facility on the plot of land, as it would attract more visitors. In conclusion, it is worth a visit if it is not your main objective. The permanent exhibition is short but has some interesting facts, and if you are lucky like I was to have a great temporary exhibition (Mine was from the series Memories of Resistance: Brenda Lee, a wonderful exhibition), it will be even more worthwhile. But I really hope they explore the space better in the future.

(Translated by Google) This place is a must for anyone who lives in the neighborhood. It is important in the history of both Tatuapé and São Paulo. The guide, Ali, is super attentive. The place is full of energy and has a "country house" smell. It is worth a visit. (Original) O local é obrigatório para quem mora no bairro. Nice outdoor screen, artistic building, a little park with artwork of the sculptures. Also there are small studio for filmmaking and many rooms. It'll be really good venue for any event or festivals.

We came here with a group of children on a school trip- there was a discussion about film vs video, a tour of the museum and finally the children watched 3 short films which were very entertaining. I recommend for adults and children to learn about film and the history of film in Brasil!

This is one of my favorite places in São Paulo. It's a great alternative to Ibirapuera Park if you just want to have a picnic on the lawn. The staff is very kind and helpful. They have constant film showings with free or cheap tickets, which is a refreshing getaway from mainstream cinema.
