Restaurant
Bar
Signatures Restaurant, located in the Aberconwy Resort and Spa on the North Wales coast, offers a lavish dining experience with contemporary British cuisine. Owned by Executive Chef Jimmy Williams and his wife Louise, this top-notch restaurant boasts a theatre-style kitchen where guests can watch the highly trained team prepare freshly made dishes. The friendly staff are knowledgeable about the menu, which features creative dishes highlighting contemporary Welsh flavors using local and seasonal ingredients.
We came here for lunch. A little bit of a hidden gem. My favourite was a soup of the day, which was celery soup. However, everything was perfect, with just the right amount of everything to leave space for dessert. Nice place to come here if you want to feel special or have a treat. The only bone I have to pick, I found the restaurant a bit cold and kept my jacket on. Parking is free.
Andrea C — Google review
This is the first time eating at signatures after hearing such good things from my parents. I was eating with my partner and my parents this evening and we were looking forward to it. Upon arriving our table was not ready, which wasn't a problem as we enjoyed a drinks in the bar. What was a bit of let down, was the fact we were pressed to order our food before being seated. Once seated at our table, which was on the upper level looking into the kitchen, this is something that I love as I am a keen cook. However on this occasion I was shocked to see a chef putting food on plates with her hands. This is not a problem, but not wearing gloves when you have nail Polish on, is something that should not happen in any kitchen. We was served the starters and one dish was incorrect, which was corrected and was served as a complimentary dish. Putting this aside, the food was extremely good and of a high standard. However the pork belly that was part of the starter and one of the mains(little piggy and pork two ways). We found it a little strange, as it felt like cotton wool in your mouth and did not fit the dishes served(maybe it was lacking a glaze on it). This will not stop me from eating here again. The team should be proud of the food that was served and the service that given.
William O — Google review
This was a really pleasant experience, I normally get disappointed by so proclaimed fine dining restaurants, but the meal here was extremely well balanced and full of flavour! Even the vegetables were impressive 👀! My partner loved his stake, and I must say it was the best fish i ever had! And i am a very fussy neurodivergent 👀!
Lorena I — Google review
We told the chef that we were vegan, but we also like to eat fish. He changed his fish of the day menu to accommodate us instead of the extravagant cream sauce. He made a delightful relish of carrots and pickles, and topped the fish with breadcrumbs and parsley, I have never had my request accommodated so well. Thank you for the exquisite meal. I should mention to that there is a full vegetarian menu and any of it can be made Vegan. They allowed us to eat on the patio as the weather was magnificent. Usually that’s where you have drinks before you go into the proper dining room.

By far and away the most beautiful restaurant/bar I've ever had the pleasure to dine and drink in. This place is off the chart and the service from staff mainly Ciprian was exceptional. Totally was a beautiful ten out of ten lunch. I love this place. U beauty

First class service, amazing staff. Food is fine dining so don't expect lots. Quality is spot on, excellent standard. Reflects the high prices, they do have offers though, so worth checking the website. Need to book always very busy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💯👍

We went here to try out the food after it was recommended as a Michelin Star restaurant. It was really good, I’m sure it would be better at night as we went during the day and nobody was eating in there. The food was very expensive and came in small portions but was very nice, especially the vegetables we had on the side. Service was excellent and we enjoyed our visit.

THIS MODERN RESTAURANT HAS BECOME A FAVOURITE OF OURS BECAUSE OF THE SUPER FRIENDLY SERVICE, THE AMAZING FOOD - ALWAYS SERVED PIPING HOT - THE RELAXED ATMOSPHERE, BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE INCREDIBLE COCKTAILS! THEY ARE SURELY THE BEST COCKTAILS IN NORTH WALES! THE MAN BEHIND THE BAR IS A TRUE MAGICIAN! I HAVE WAY TOO MANY OF THEM EVERY TIME WE VISIT. CLEAN. ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO GET A TABLE, BUT IF YOU CAN IT’S MORE THAN WORTH IT! GREAT VALUE, NOT OVERPRICED.

Italian restaurant
Alfredos Restaurant is a beloved local spot known for its authentic Italian cuisine and rustic ambiance. While famous for their delicious pizzas, the restaurant also offers an extensive menu to cater to diverse tastes. Situated on Lancaster Square, it is renowned for classic Italian dishes that transport diners to the heart of Italy. The warm and inviting atmosphere, along with friendly and attentive staff, make it a perfect place for a relaxing meal. With its popularity among both locals and tourists, booking in advance is recommended.
Probably the best restaurant I got to try in Conwy. Had the lasagna and ir was very satisfying, great taste and made with quality ingredients. The server was also super friendly and fast, he made sure that we were well taken care of. The atmosphere was really nice, with cute art and chill music. I hope to come back someday!
Bryn C — Google review
We visited Alfredo’s last night. Haven’t yet been since they have been under new ownership and rebranded. We were very pleasantly surprised. We came at 7.30pm on a Friday night, it was relatively busy and we were attended to promptly. A young waiter who brought us to our table asked if we would like water for the table, I obviously said yes… However we weren’t made aware there would be a £4 charge for it, but I also could have asked, so not to worry. Our drinks order was taken quickly and as we’d already looked at the menu ahead of time we knew what we were having, so when they came back with the drinks we ordered. We went straight for mains, the Penne Genovese, garlic breads, chunky chips and a Picante Pizza. It arrived very quickly and boiling hot, we were impressed. The food was delicious and something different to what we were used to from an Italian restaurant. Their garlic bread was a little tough in the middle & the pasta sauce seemed to have some creaminess in there even though it was it wasn’t listed on the menu (with me trying to stick to a calorie deficit that’s probably just me nit picking) but it wasn’t enough to put us off our meal as it was delectable. We also had the tiramisu to share for dessert. Their drinks menu is vast and I was suprised to see they had Dirty Martinis and Picantes (spicy margaritas) as cocktails, which are made to perfection, as they are my favourite and I can never usually find them in establishments. We would recommend this restaurant for any type of occasion you have planned. The interior is lovely and the staff are very attentive and polite. Very refreshing.

Food was amazing. I ordered the steak sandwich, and immediately after the first bite, I knew it was the best sandwich I am going to ever had in my entire life. Sandwich was £12 but it definitely worth it

Visited this beautiful restaurant last Wednesday evening and loved it!! Our server, Lucas, was brilliant and very attentive, whilst not being over the top. He kept us informed about the status of our meals and was very helpful. The food was delicious and there was an excellent wine list and range of drinks. We will definitely be going back there on our next visit to Conwy...loved it!!
Louise B — Google review
Fabulous food and really friendly and efficient service. Very good value too, which is something you don’t get to say much these days. We both had 3 courses with drinks and the bill was less than £65. I could not recommend highly enough. Will definitely be back.
Paul M — Google review
Alfrados in Conwy is simply outstanding! We three ladies visited twice during our week’s stay and were blown away both times. The food is exceptional—every dish a triumph—and the staff are top-rate: warm, attentive, and genuinely delightful. No room for improvement whatsoever. We’ll be back next year without fail!
Rachel C — Google review
Tried to get in here on a Friday night in September. Said wait to be seated, asked if we’d booked and said no, the restaurant was half empty mind you! Only to be told couldn’t have a table for an hour when there were many free ones! I know sometimes restaurants are fully booked but unless all these folks were coming at same time then I find it hard to believe we couldn’t have had a table but looking at reviews of how bad the food is maybe it was a good thing! Shame as I was rather looking forward to trying it! Just left after being told an hour wait and went elsewhere! Went to another hotel restaurant on our last holiday and they just asked a table that had finished if they could leave if they didn’t mind so we could have their table and they did give up table so we could eat there, much more accommodating and how a business should be run!

Situated near the old town walls, this iconic bistro provides a welcoming atmosphere and outdoor seating on the patio. The restaurant is known for its beautifully presented dishes, including options like king prawns, deep-fried brie, and prawn cocktail.
Had been told it was good, how wrong could that be. Good was a terrible under statement , we rocked on up to the very unassuming entrance and dining area, We were shown to our seat in the conservatory lean to. The staff were very attentive and that specialness was now beginning to show in attentiveness the staff forged. Very small menu but even so the choice was already hard as most were very appealing along with a special board choice. from the great staff to the amazing food and choice we en-counted we were had a great dine out thanks

Classic British food, great flavour combinations and the menu well thought out, with a nice wine selection. Fish skin wasn't crispy, which was a shame and the reason it wasn't 5*, but the rest was great. The custard tart was the real hero of the meal, and was absolutely heavenly. Service was very friendly.
Sam L — Google review
Nice atmosphere. It’s cosy. Service was horrible. There were multiple service staff on site but they were not attentive or was not able action simple orders. Ordered 2 glasses of wine and it was not delivered till I asked. Ordered a bottle of still water that was not delivered as well. The worst part was the tap water bottle where the cap was mouldy. Ask for new bottle and again cap was mouldy. 3rd bottle was the same as well. Only highlight was the steak which was really well cooked. Definitely won’t be going back again.

We went here per the recommendation of our bed & breakfast nearby and were sure glad we did! This was in August 2022. Service: fast and friendly. Food: We got two courses (31.25 pounds at the early bird rate) and tried the salmon, chicken, cheese cake, and sticky toffee pudding. All of these dishes were super yummy, but the pudding might have been our favorite.
Emily B — Google review
We're sure to eat at Watson's every time we visit Conwy. Their dishes are always perfectly seasoned and generally rich and full of deep flavour rather than lighter and fresh flavoured. Presentation is impeccable, definitely a wow factor when your food arrives They really know how to treat lamb and fish (as you'd hope from a restaurant in a Welsh coastal town) and desserts are to die for
Jay H — Google review
Excellent service and food. Even though the menu wasn't huge everything we've tried was Excellent. Couldn't believe haddock could taste so good! Proper gourmet restaurant, would definitely recommend

Absolutely amazing food and even better staff. We booked on the day for a table of 6. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and given an appropriate table. 2 people from our party were not able to eat pork or beef however the accommodated them by allowing them to order a wrap which is typically served under the lunch menu. All the food we ordered was amazing and perfectly cooked. And again if i am ever back in the area would definitely go again.

We had a meal in the dog friendly lower bar. Great atmosphere. Food was absolutely spot on. Really delicious and hot. We had a delicious Korean meat starter followed by a risotto and bacon chop. Good portion size. A good selection of dishes on the menu. We hadn’t booked but quickly got a table.

Beautiful pub in Conwy. We had the roast beef brisket! Absolutely top notch!! Best roast beef dinner we've had out!! We've travelled extensively over the UK and this made the No 1 roast dinner for us!! We also had starters of halloumi and pork bites. Both were amazing flavour combos too!! Staff were pleasant and we would definitely return!!

Best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had. Great staff really friendly and helpful. Fast service. Reasonably priced. Lovely little find on our weekend away in Wales would defo recommend the beef Sunday dinner!

10/10 service. So good I am sat in the pub writing this immediately after our meal! We came in just after food service ended after a 30 minute journey from the middle of nowhere to find some dinner. Staff let us order even after service was meant to end and food was with us in under 10 minutes and was delicious. Cannot recommend enough- the young woman in pink and young man behind the bar in blue were incredibly helpful.
Abi T — Google review
The food was very nice traditional British food but turned into fine dining, very good drinks options from ale to sprits. A barista style coffee machine for good end to the meal.
Jake N — Google review
I actually ate at the restaurant downstairs. Fantastic. Genuinely, really good food. I had a roast and it was really good. Only fault I'd say is that there wasn't a choice of rare/medium rare/well done on the beef. However, it was still very nice nonetheless. Although, I do prefer my beef much more pink. Will gladly return when in the area again!

What a beautiful dog friendly cafe. On arrival we were seated. We looked at the menu and decided to have vanilla late and breakfast. Excellent coffee and the breakfast was delicious. It was beautifully cooked. They used local produce too 👌 The staff were attentive and polite. We would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for some breakfast and a coffee. They had a vegan option on the menu that was delicious. The coffee was also fantastic and they had plant based milk option. We noticed that they had some lovely looking pastry’s and some of these were vegan. We had the cinnamon scroll and pain au chocolat. We highly recommend this spot for a good coffee and some nice food. It’s also dog friendly and they were happy to accommodate our two dogs. The dogs were even offered some dog friendly sausages.

Best bit of bacon my wife’s ever had! We were staying in Conwy for a week and found ourselves here for breakfast on multiple occasions. Food- I had the full English and it was terrific, perfect portions, fresh ingredients, nothing greasy and very filling. Great way to start the day! My wife had an “incredibly high quality smoothy” and it is clear they use really fresh produce and take the product seriously. They are super dog friendly! The only negatives- It can be hard to get a seat and when you are in it can feel cramped, this is clearly because of how great the place is and so many people want in on it!
Tom S — Google review
In conwy for 2days & visited both days. Afternoon visit for cake & pistachio latte. Again for breakfast the next day, we arrived just after opening on the Sunday & were the first customers & had a nice table in the window. We had the special breakfast (warm cinnamon bun, granola, yogurt & honey) Breakfast bap , latte & ginger beer tea. The breakfast was presented lovely. I loved all the small touches with the flowers. The warm cinnamon bun was amazing I would drive from manchester just to eat that cinnamon bun again. Staff friendly & polite. Very quick service. Only one suggestion would be to put the prices on the specials boards so you don't have to ask. This place really is a little gem in conwy, just the presentation of the drinks & food is fabulous. I can't wait to return again. Don't let it put you off either if you don't have a dog with it being a dog friendly cafe as on both visits I only saw a few dogs & was no issuse. Thanks for making our weekend so lovely.

Stopped in Conwy en route to Liverpool from Nefyn. As per reviews service and food was great - better than we expected and happy with the price. It was busy with people coming and going but we managed to squeeze in the front window with a dog, 1yo, 4yo and two adults and we really enjoyed it and would go back. Note that Toilets are located two doors down in the castle hotel. Location is ideal with Parking on the street, plenty of shops and the bay one end. Friendly Quick Accommodating

This wasn't our 1st choice for breakfast, but if we'd known how good it was... it absolutely would've been. Staff were welcoming and attentive and the breakfast was superb... easily the best we'd had all week. If we find ourselves in this neck of the woods again, another visit is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!!!

We were exploring around Conwy Castle when we stumbled upon the cutest little spot—L’s Coffee and Bookshop—and we’re so glad we did! Nestled just off the street, the cozy, welcoming vibe pulled us in right away. Think warm wood, comfy corners, and the smell of fresh coffee and books—basically, heaven. But what made it even better? They serve matcha tea! I’d been craving it since I landed in Wales, and after five days of searching, L’s came to the rescue. We were lucky to grab a window seat, perfect for people-watching as we sipped and munched. I had the Bacon, Halloumi & Sweet Chili Bagel (a combo I didn’t know I needed!) with my long-awaited matcha. My partner went all in with a juicy burger, plus L’s Granola and Yoghurt Bowl topped with mixed berries, paired with coffee. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and just what we needed after a morning of sightseeing. The staff were lovely and made us feel right at home, and the location couldn’t be more perfect—just a short stroll from the castle. If you’re in Conwy and looking for a charming cafe with great food, friendly vibes, and yes, matcha—this is the place!

Fish & chips restaurant
The Galleon Fish & Chips is a popular Conwy fish and chip restaurant that offers a wide range of fresh, local seafood. The wait can be long during busy times, but it's worth it for the delicious chips and curry sauce. Friendly staff make this a great place to eat out with family or friends.
We stopped here as a family for traditional chips on the coast, ordering was nice and simple with the staff and extremely pleasant and polite. We had our order and proceed to go upstairs and luckily enough we got the window seat that shows off Conwy Castle and the street upto it. The chips where amazing, cooked to perfection and not soaked in oil like most places, sausages where just normal chippy sausages and curry was the bomb 👍 Highly recommend this place, the food was just what I was expecting 😎😁
David P — Google review
Worst place for chips! Only go here if you like soggy chips that are barely fried. I went back to the ladies behind the counter to ask if they could bake it longer, but it was not possible. It had something to do with the potato?! We used 10 bags of sauce and it still did not taste good… (bags of sauce are 20cents each) The vinegar on the table is too dirty to get vinegar out of it. And also on the table next to us. The toilet is dirty as well… see pictures. Please do not go here…

Went in on monday. I ordered fish chips and peas. The batter was perfect and the fish was nice and fluffy and the mushy peas were spot on. The portion size are very generous.Good value for money. The staff are friendly. And will do anything for you. The place was clean and tidy. The staff cleared the tables as soon as they could tables were wiped with the proper cleaning solution. Well done Galleon. Keep up the good work see you soon

Popped in for a quick lunch with my family on a recent holiday. The food wasn't to bad, bit pricey for the portion sizes. The bins could do with being changed inside more regularly, they seemed to be very large outside bins placed inside warm left over food started to smelly when I went to put my waste inside.
Tom W — Google review
Good fish and chips, nice clean place. We dinned inside, plenty of room upstairs. Even though everthing was clean there was some pealing paint on the ceiling and the taps were not working properly in the mens toilets. Come on guys these are easy fixes.
Francisco S — Google review
Very nice fish and chips, the fish was fresh and crispy batter and the chips were very nice too. Quick service and plenty of seating, it is a tad pricey but still worth the cost.
Human O — Google review
Probably the worst fish and chips I've ever had. We paid £40 for 3 x fish and chips, 2 x curry sauces, 2 cans of pop and 3 x sachets of ketchup. The fish was small and dry, the batter was thin and tasteless, and a good portion of the chips were green. What a shame, I was introducing a foreign guest to traditional UK food and this was embarrassing. Avoid at all cost.
Lee M — Google review
Had the smallest, driest fish I have EVER had.The chips were enemic and half of them black and unedible. Only got one star because there was no Zero. Absolutely awful, threw in the bin, thought it was unfair to leave for the seaguls.

Paysanne is an intimate French restaurant in Deganwy, known for its upscale farmhouse cooking using locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant, which opened in 1988 and is currently run by the original owner's son, offers a charming and unobtrusive dining experience. With a focus on honest French provincial cuisine, Paysanne celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary by serving traditional dishes made with indigenous Welsh produce.
We had a lovely meal at Paysanne with excellent service. It’s a small restaurant so do book ahead. Our favourite dish was the mushroom starter but everything was very good. We paid £50 per head (including tip) for 3 courses and a half litre carafe of wine. Will be coming back here

Wow, wow, wow!! What a place. Fantastic food., incredible rare wine, the best atmosphere and their front of house service is perfect. What a find? The best reason to come back to Conwy. Thank you. See you next time.

We were delighted when staying in a nearby Airbnb that Cai was able to squeeze us in last minute on Saturday night. What a treat! Visiting the area for a couple of days we had a great meal at Paysanne. It was very reasonable for the quality of the food and wine. The restaurant was busy and full so you definitely need to book in advance. We'd seen the menu in advance so knew there were good options for meat, fish and vegetarian eaters but there were extra fish options on the day which presumably varies depending on availability. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the owner was helpful with some particular requests our party had. As a bonus we parked right outside but there was also a car park across the road. We will definitely return when we are next in the area and recommend it as a quality place to go for a lovely meal

We had an amazing evening at Paysanne, a French restaurant run by Cai, who is an absolute delight – warm, witty, and incredibly kind. The food was excellent, and we’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area. Don’t miss it – you won’t regret it.

Cozy local restaurant, nice decoration and exquisite music to enjoy the provincial French cuisine. I loved the "special Cod with cheese crust". My husband ask for a Malbec bottle and it was great. Our dinner was late so we only share pear with wine as a dessert (simple, light but still delicious). The service was nice and warm. 100% recommended!

Indian restaurant
Jalsa Tandoori is a popular Indian restaurant located near Conwy Castle in Wales. It offers a casual dining experience with an extensive menu featuring authentic Indian flavors, including delicious curries and exotic street food options. The restaurant caters to various spice preferences, ensuring there's something for everyone. Under new management, the venue is known for its great customer service and clean, well-decorated space. Due to its popularity, it's recommended to book a table in advance as seating is limited.
A fantastic meal – we’ll be back regularly! We had dinner at Jalsa Tandoori in Conwy last night and absolutely loved it. There were four of us, and every single dish impressed us. The standout plates were the tikka lamb chops – full of flavour and perfectly cooked – and the jalfrezi, which was rich, spicy, and packed with depth. The boiled rice was probably the best we’ve had anywhere, and of course, we had to get chips too! The naan breads were light, fluffy, and fresh from the tandoor – exactly how they should be. The service was faultless from start to finish. We were looked after by Yasin, Ina, and the rest of the team, who were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. A special thank you to Yasin, the owner, who really made the experience memorable. We’ll definitely be back – the food and hospitality were genuinely top class. Highly recommended.

We recently stopped by Jalsa on our vacation in Llandando. The restaurant is located in picturesque town of Conwy next to a beautiful castle. We ordered a Mixed Grill, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Balti, Keema Naan and plain rice. The curry's were OK not spicy and a bit on the bland side. The grill was again OK not outstanding, with only the single piece of boneless chicken tasting great. The boiled rice was not fresh and clearly microwaved. However, the star of the show was the Keema Naan. Service was excellent and fast, alas, the food did not match up to the service or the location.

Delicious food, a choice of different dishes to choose from, cooked to perfection! Good portion sizes, best pickle tray too! Very friendly, attentive staff, tastefully decorated, reasonably priced. Our first visit, will definitely return! (Remember to bring your own alcohol)

1 Star – Absolutely Disappointing Experience I don’t normally write reviews, but this place honestly deserves a warning to others. From the moment we walked in, the staff made it clear we weren’t welcome. No smile, no greeting just cold, dismissive attitudes. We were treated like an inconvenience rather than customers. The rudeness was unreal. Asking a simple question felt like we were bothering them. Hospitality? Zero. It’s honestly shocking how a restaurant in such a beautiful tourist spot can get away with treating people like this. To make things worse, they don’t even sell naan or chapati and when we asked, they just pushed us to order a full main course instead. No flexibility, no care. Felt more like a power trip than customer service. There are plenty of other places in Conwy with better food and MUCH better service. Don’t waste your time or money here.
Aqdas M — Google review
We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. You will get some authentic Indian style cuisine here. Chicken biryani, seekh kebab, paneer shashlik, and especially Bombay aloo were mind blowing. The chef and the staff was really kind and also customised the spiciness according to our requirements. Location is great. You can get ur own drinks too. And finally the dishes are reasonably priced. This restaurant deserves a 5 star definitely.
Omkar A — Google review
We’ve been regulars at Jalsa and have always enjoyed the food, but this visit was extremely disappointing. The gentleman serving us was extremely rude and argumentative, making us feel very unwelcome. He responded to basic questions in a dismissive, undermining tone, which ruined the whole atmosphere. I’ve worked in hospitality myself, so I fully understand that the customer isn’t always right — however when reading through the reviews it’s clear this isn’t a one off experience and it’s time Jalsa took it seriously. It’s a real shame, because the food has always been great. But based on the service, we won’t be returning unless changes are made.
Bea R — Google review
We had a really pleasant family dinner during our vacation here. Excellent meals with a great variety of choice for vegetarian/vegan/fish (compliments to the cook), and kind people.
Ferdie A — Google review
The food here is overall decent 3/5. We came here as it was one of the few Halal options in the area. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the main member of staff. The gentleman handling the tables and taking orders was noticeably rude to us… I could only describe it as internal racism as we share the same ethnicity. It was very obvious he treated the locals a certain way and us, (myself and two young kids) a totally different way. He didn’t once ask if everything was ok, or how we were getting on, and when I asked for a bottled water he gave me what was under the counter, warm. To others it was a glass and ice. So whilst the food was decent it should be matched with good service, and that part definitely needs improvement. I’m not sure I’d come back.

The Mulberry is a relaxed pub located at Conwy Marina, offering stunning views and a sophisticated environment. It features modern interior styling, real ales, and an eclectic menu of familiar comfort food. The pub is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and friendly service, making it a go-to spot in Conwy. With outdoor seating overlooking the marina, it's an ideal place to enjoy a meal with friends or even your dog.
We went to Conwy for a Day Trip to the Castle. Took the Marine walk to reach The Mulberry. The long walk is totally worth it. It has an amazing view - be it inside or outside. Blue sky, gentle breeze, harbour view, and cold Beer - what else do you need? The interior is great. (A point I cannot resist to say - their toilet was so clean and well decorated - it looked like a posh hotel toilet. I am amazed). I tried Peri peri Chicken Skewer. And it won't be wrong to say it was one of the best foods I tried ever. The chicken was super soft - like melting inside the mouth. Keeping it so juicy and succulent is a mastery - hats off to the Chef. We were a group of 18. And everyone loved their food - be it Pasta, Fish & chips, or Pizza. The portion sizes were hearty. I love Welsh people. Here comes another reason for that.
M U — Google review
I rarely give low reviews but was quite disappointed at our last visit. In the past the food has been above average but on our last trip we found it cold, flavourless and poor quality. The place is worth a visit though, the view is stunning, there are lots of beautiful walks to it and the outside is dog friendly. I would just have a drink and avoid the food (although my wife was disappointed by her cocktail). The view and setting is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, if you’re after an average meal With stunning views this is the place for you, if you’re after a better quality meal stick to inside Conwy.

Part of a large party (21) Service was fantastic especially for our group size. Staff were friendly and polite and made a fuss of our little boy. Really enjoyed my mackerel starter. Roast was superb. Meat cooked really well, tasty veg and good roast potatoes. Desert was a little disappointing though not poor enough to spoil the meal. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

The free Father's day pint was good and I enjoyed the view, however woe betide anyone ordering food as the person on the table ahead of me had to get up from his meal to fetch sauces and wotnot. It's not good to deliver food to a table and make a hasty escape without asking about or having sauces supplied at same occurrence as plates. Sorry just can't avoid noticing when other customers are having to get up and puts me on alert for my potential use of the restaurant.

The Archway takeaway is a great place to get fish and chips. The service is friendly and the portion size is generous, making it a popular choice for diners. The fish is always cooked perfectly and there's no shortage of delicious sauce to go with it.
Always visit when I return home to see my parents! It’s consistently great! Great food, great service, great value! Always have a friendly welcome and our dog is welcome too, they even offer water and a piece of sausage for the canine guests! Very thoughtful! Highly recommend and will continue to visit!

Pretty tasty! Cab driver said this was the best fish & chips in Conwy, and I don’t doubt it. Massive portion too — couldn’t finish the chips! Super-cool rustic atmosphere decorated with a lot of planks and wooden pallets. Oh and it was really nice to have an extensive list of allergens on the back of the menu.

We went there two days in row, first we take away burgers for us and nuggets and chips for kids. It was great, soo tasty that we returned next day to sit in and we ordered same, slightly more expensive then take out but atmosphere and service was worth it. Highly recommended and we sure we visit next time when in area.

This is a nice shop and they do a gluten free fish which was great for one of our party. The fish I had was unfortunately quite overcooked or possibly had been sat to keep warm for a while. The chips were good standard fish shop chips and the peas and curry sauce were nice. The staff were helpful and friendly and we managed to get there just before it started to get really busy so didn't have to queue.

Called in for fish and chips after setting up our caravan on a local site. After having car trouble on the way we were ready for our tea. We were not disappointed, we both had fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed them. The service was quick and friendly.

Came here on holiday on a Friday night as everywhere was fully booked and we went in the Albion pub opposite and they didn’t do cobs but said we could go to this chippy and bring some food in if the restaurant up the street was no longer serving or full which it was! Was a bit of a long wait on a Friday night as was quite busy in September. The fish was alright but a bit greasy and the batter not so good and the burgers me and my dad had was like a cheap burger van burger so wouldn’t bother with that again. Not sure if I’d bother again.

Just paid £10 for fish and chips, the portion size was tiny, definitely don’t recommend coming here.

Nestled in the charming town of Conwy, Parisella's Ice Cream Parlour is a delightful destination for ice cream lovers. This beloved spot artfully blends Welsh ingredients with Italian flair, offering an impressive selection of flavors that cater to every palate. Whether you’re indulging in a classic cone or trying their delectable crepes topped with fresh fruit, each treat promises quality and taste.
a group of seven of us came in with 7 minutes to closing because we were so desperate for ice cream- and wow. just wow! not only was the employee so kind and helpful with our questions about the flavors, but the ice cream itself was insanely good. it was a light, creamy flavor that i don’t think anywhere else can replicate. i got a honeycomb one (with actual chunks of honey, so good!) and biscoff (not too overly sweet at all!) this place is a must go!
Julia P — Google review
Very expensive (£11.50!!) for a dry crepe (I had trouble cutting it) and the smallest amount of Nutella they could get away with. Absolutely awful and would not recommend going there.
Rachael W — Google review
The flavours were OK, we had Bounty, Raspberry swirl and Cheesecake. We would have preferred the Raspberry as a sorbet. Quite pricey, but portions are generous. We ordered cups with two flavours each and got two scoops per flavour. Which was nice but would have been a lot nicer if we could have had 4 flavours for that amount of ice cream.
Mijanou — Google review
The ice cream was super tasty and when a seagull stole my ice cream she gave me one for free ! We are free flavours and absolutely delicious. Recommended flavour: strawberry cheesecake

Visited here today at 3.30 4th sep. Bigger girl behind the counter dark hair, I asked for a waffle cone, she put the ice cream on the cheapest cones, I explained to her that I asked for the waffle cone, she had to be shown which one that was which is fine, I wasn't patronising or rude but she actually huffed and sighed that she had to change the cone. Not really a big deal is it. So rude and miserable, the ice cream cost me nearly £6. Teach your staff to be friendly especially at an ince parlour in a tourist spot!

A full 5 stars for ice cream, waffles and tea. The waffles were probably the best I've ever had, warm, soft in the middle, served with brilliant ice cream and cream. The chunky money was the best. Super friendly staff too, with a great cup of tea. Simply the best experience.

Food was beautiful great restaurant, happy to be seated in a chair not a high table which there are allot of, I’ve rated service as a 3⭐️ due to 10% service charge added to your bill without being informed, I would have like to have the option and tipped in cash to the waiters as they was extremely assertive and welcoming.

The place is not overwhelming, but it’s a must visit. I ordered the sweet and sour pork and it was so delicious. Pork is so tasty and tender. The veggies and pineapple pieces were perfect. I loved it. My wife’s loved her meal as well. I just can’t say enough about this restaurant. The restaurant is an authentic Chinese restaurant . Our experience and visit in Deganwy, North Wales was made more enjoyable because of dining at Nikki’s. I highly recommend.

The wife and I had a reasonable Anniversary meal here. We arrived at 6pm on a Thursday with no reservation. They were able to accommodate plus which was great. Service was fantastic, the staff are very attentive, saying that the place was empty when we arrived. Ribs for starters were amazing. Mains: beef curry and Thai sweet chilli chicken. Flavours were great in the chicken dish, curry was a little bland but ok. We enjoyed ourselves but we wouldn't return due to the prices and the mains being underwhelming. Ribs starters £11, mains £20 (ish).

Visiting Deganwy again and popped in for lunch deal. Seafood pancake starter was packed with Prawns and bursting with flavour. Had fish main which was like a stir-fry with lots of veg inside. Absolutely fantastic. Can't praise this place enough and can't wait to come back! Was looked after by Dillon this time, lovely person, great service, thank you. Just been in as fancied something light for lunch. The aromas definitely entice you in from far!! Explained to the gentleman (sorry I did not take your name) I was torn between 2 dishes (sides) and asked about the portion sizes. I'm so pleased I just had 1 side! Went for the Singapore Noodles with Prawns, Pork and Mixed Veg. Couldn't eat them quick enough when I got back but the whole portion was equivalent to a main so had to tear myself away from eating it all! Very well done and thank you. I will definitely be back 😀 So good I went back to get the same for dinner!

Nice little bakery in the middle of Conwy. I had the cherry custard tart on the first day arriving into Conwy and had to return to get a small selection of cakes to bring back home. It was also my first time trying Welshcakes so wanted to get ones from a proper bakery and I'm really glad I did!

Telfords Bistro is a must-visit spot in Conwy, offering a delightful dining experience. The locally sourced food, particularly the mussels, is highly recommended. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. This bistro stands out for its incredible seafood and fine dining options. Guests praise the fresh and delicious food as well as the welcoming and passionate owner.
Friendly service throughout, with attention to details, like polishing the wine glasses. The barman was particularly professional, attentive and ensured everything was running smoothly. The fish chowder was probably one of the best I've had. All the ingredients were locally sourced and fresh. Everything was homemade. Will definitely be back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Conwy by the castle. We had a wonderful experience overall, the food was absolutely superb, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The setting and ambiance were equally impressive, stylish, welcoming, and a real treat to spend time in. Most of the service we received was attentive and professional. However, one of the waitresses who served us didn’t seem to be having the best day and gave the impression that things might have been a bit of a struggle for her. While she did her job, there was a noticeable lack of warmth. Everyone can have an off day, and we all have moments when we’re not at our best, so we didn’t let it take away from what was otherwise a 10/10 👜 handbag restaurant review. We’d definitely return and recommend it, especially for the fantastic food and lovely surroundings.

My husband 🇬🇧 and I 🇨🇦 were looking to find a place for dinner and ended up in Telford's Bistro. The ladies assisted us quickly and checked with kitchen staff if can take us for evening service as we are quite a bit early. Ordered the food and was lovely and tasty. My husband order chicken caear was lovely. I ordered Seafood Linguine and was tasty and lovely but when received it did not expect that I will get specific amount of mussels in shells which is just 3 pieces and one of them wasn't even open which quite disappointing. Had both of our pudding and find mine not really tasty as what I expect from panacotta. The only thing as well is we have not asked if we have any food allergy. All the presentations and tastes of food were good and location is right by the castle.
Billy M — Google review
We came to Telfords thanks to the great reviews they have. Located in the heart of Conwy town the restaurant is nicely decorated and the three young ladies greeted us warmly and professionally. The menu had some interesting dishes and we shared the fish fishes to enjoy as wide a variety as possible of these imaginative dishes. My only issue on the mink fish dish. With 6 nuggets of monk fish, one small Parma ham chip and an overdose of broccoli and potatoes I feel it is over priced and gives a sense of pretentious snobbery. Other than that we had a great time and a fantastic meal
David F — Google review
We visited Telfords Bistro on our first evening in Conwy. The interior was well decorated and a good atmosphere inside the restaurant (the outside is also beautiful!). The vibes were a little confused and I think the playlist that was on in the background was too loud and not the right style / music genre for the bistro. This small change to a classy instrumental playlist could really elevate the dining experience. The service was mediocre at times but we were attended to promptly and got all we needed. The wine list was extensive and the wine we selected was delightful. The menu was diverse yet well curated and had a lovely variety of seafood, meats and vegetarian options. The flavour profiles of each dish were wonderful (the Scallops dish had a delightfully sweet yet salty tang). I would personally prefer my seafood cooked slightly less as in places it was a bit rubbery. My partner and I enjoyed all 3 courses a lot! I would say it was a slightly overpriced menu compared to other locations in the area, however we had a lovely meal here and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone in Conwy.

Went for lunch, choose the chicken dish and my friend the lamb burger, my dish was dry and didn’t have much flavour, while my friend said the lamb burger was very nice. The Jackdaw is a restaurant located in a former cinema on Conwy High Street, owned by chef Nick Rudge who honed his skills at the renowned Fat Duck. The establishment has gained recognition for its ambitious and locally rooted cuisine, earning a spot in The Good Food Guide's top 20 for 2022. With an exciting menu featuring Welsh produce cooked with precision, The Jackdaw offers a dining experience that balances refinement with deliciousness.
We had a great seasonal spring set menu. What I really liked about the meal was how they cared about the locality of their ingredients and presented them with stories of where they came from. Uniquely their wine list is organised by how far the wine traveled, and was an excellent choice of curated bottles.

Was there on 15th February as a birthday treat. It was a lovely experience and I enjoyed all the food save for one Blaenau slate but that was down to personal taste. The wine pairing was interesting and I'd definitely do it again. My only negative is as it was a tasting menu and all 10 covers were eating the same meal at the same time there was no need for the waiting staff to ask if they could take our empty plates and glasses away, they should just take them
Helen K — Google review
A Meal Worth Writing a Poem About We had the dinner tasting menu at The Jackdaw, paired with a crisp rosé from Provence, and it was nothing short of a revelation. The menu leans fish-forward — in all the right ways — and each course felt like a quiet marvel: surprising, intriguing, and inspiring. Even the bread came with a poem. Every element of the evening was thoughtfully crafted. Each dish told a story, and each bite was a page-turner. It’s hard to choose a favorite when the entire experience felt so cohesively excellent. The service was warm and seamless, striking that rare balance of professionalism and personality. This wasn’t just dinner — it was a walk through local Conwy culture and history, plated with intention and care. Highly recommended for those who love food with a sense of place — and a bit of poetry.

General Experience
- We received a warm and friendly welcome, and the service throughout was excellent. The dining room had a cozy atmosphere, and it was fascinating to read about the history behind the restaurant’s name, which is explained in the menu. A standout touch was the background music—it was refreshingly modern, breaking away from the usual, old-fashioned tunes you might expect at a restaurant of this calibre. Dish Highlights from the Winters Menu: * Forager’s Friend: This starter set the tone for the meal with its bold blend of flavours and impeccable presentation. A fantastic way to begin. * Blaenau Slate: Unusual and distinct from anything we’ve ever had before. Not only was the presentation striking and reflective of the local area, but the flavours were equally impressive. * “Bread Of Heaven”-A comforting array of bread with two homemade butters. The oat butter, in particular, was phenomenal. * Juniper Smoked Trout: A beautifully composed dish with a well-balanced combination of flavours, thoughtfully crafted and delicious.

This place is next level. The food was of such a high standard if felt like it should be on a tv show like The Great British menu. The knowledge and sustainability aspects was quite something aswell. We had a lovely young male waiter who was incredibly engaging. All in all an amazing experience at a really good price point for what you get.
Claire T — Google review
What can we say? Let’s start with the food: Such subtle flavours, so much so we were lingering over every spoon/fork/finger full trying to identify the exceptional ingredients on display. The presentation was first class - you eat with your eyes and boy did we! The service: From start to finish we were treated to great service. Gareth certainly knows his wines and his recommendations were spot on. We were delightfully surprised by the Welsh fortified wine - a wonderful compliment to the additional cheese course that we ordered. Overall a superb dining experience that we would happily repeat.

Set tasting menu Really lovely restaurant with tiny but well thought out dishes. Lots and lots of them so we didn’t leave hungry. Loved the linking to local Welsh history and producers Really nice to go for a special occasion. We had a great evening

We went for my wife’s birthday and we will definitely visit again. Located in beautiful Conwy, the restaurant offers a seasonal taste of Wales with their delicious and creative take on traditional dishes and ingredients. Far from pretentious and very attentive to details, the wine pairing was well selected with a good variety. The staff were fantastic and made us feel comfortable throughout.

Bodnant Welsh Food is a delightful destination that beautifully marries history with culinary excellence. Nestled in an 18th-century farmhouse, this charming center features a farm-to-table restaurant, The Hayloft, where you can savor traditional Welsh dishes like black pudding Scotch eggs and Menai mussels in garlic cream sauce. Beyond the dining experience, Bodnant offers a cookery school and an organic shop brimming with local produce.
I recently had my wedding ceremony and reception at Bodnant Welsh Food. I cannot recommend this venue enough! Olivia was our wedding coordinator and right from viewing to booking and planning she was incredibly supportive. She even arranged for us to have our wedding pictures taken at Bodnant Gardens which was magical. The venue is outstanding with a view of the River Conwy, the farmhouse feel and decor of the Hayloft is so lovely. Ebony was the coordinator on the wedding day and she was amazing, everything went smoothly. The food is great with local produce being used and the staff are friendly. I can't thank Olivia, Ebony and the rest of the staff enough for such a great wedding experience!

Really nice farm shop and cafe. The quality and choice is great and the selection of local cheeses, chutneys and meats is good. Some stunning views across the estery as well. The cafe was very nice and good quality food was served. Only downside, it is slightly expensive but as a one off don't mind due to the quality.

We (my doggie and me) stayed at the Bodnant Welsh Food centre farmhouse B&B at the beginning of September 2025. Was very surprised at what is actually available on site. I expected just the B&B - turns out there is a Cookery School, a Farm Shop, lovely day-cafe called the Furnace, and the restaurant The Hayloft. As the B&B is slightly off the beaten-track (15 minutes drive to Llandudno) and not exactly in a village - having both a cafe and a restaurant on site, meant that we didn't have to worry about where to get some lunch or dinner. Speaking of lunch and dinner - the food was absolutely delicious at the Hayloft - the space is very well dressed up, and the ambience is relaxing, comfortable, yet trendy. Huge bonus for the fact that both the cafe and the restaurant are dog friendly, so I didn't have to leave my pooch in the room. The place could do with some improved signs on the main road - I think it misses out on passing traffic as the signs that are there are too small, too close to the turn of the road, and do not actually advertise what is available on site. Lost opportunity. I had no idea what was there until I arrived. Anyway, I can definitely recommend staying at the B&B, and the food at the cafe and the restaurant. Well worth the visit, well worth the detour. It's actually only 15 mins - maybe less from the A55 - if you're on your way further into Wales, this is the place to stop for a break. Worth it.

This was my second visit to the artisan market here, the site is great and busy the staff were excellent and we had coffee the stalls were all amazing and managed to find a cutting board for the van and a few other quirky bits.
Adventure D — Google review
This is a beautiful farm shop with lots of unusual products that make for great souvenirs or gifts. It's expensive, though, so even though there is a butcherie and fresh produce, I'm not sure it would be practical or affordable to shop here regularly. That said, at the time of this review, there is an excellent choice of wines and spirits and a small coffee stand selling cakes, but gluten-free options are quite limited, unfortunately. Telephone before you travel as the opening times keep changing and nobody can be bothered to add them to their website.

Nestled within the vibrant Conwy Culture Centre, Cantîn is a delightful modern café that offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of town life. With its charming outdoor terrace, visitors can savor delicious meals while enjoying serene views of the castle walls. The menu caters to all dietary preferences, featuring an impressive selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes—like their creamy cauliflower cheese on baked potatoes or comforting mushroom soup made with oat milk. Portions are generous, making it an ideal spot for families as well.
Wonderful for vegans Actually, this is an all-around wonderful place! There is a range of vegan and vegetarian options. I nearly went for the mushroom soup, made with oat milk (I've had it before), but instead had the cauliflower cheese on a baked potato with side salad. Absolutely gorgeous! Cantîn is within the Conwy Culture Centre building, they work well together, so making a visit to both a real treat. There is disabled parking, everything is on the flat on a single level, inside and out, with a well-equipped accessible toilet. All the staff are lovely and I really like the atmosphere. Prices seem very reasonable.

Really lovely breakfast. Some of the best cooked eggs we’ve had. Would come again if in the area. We did visit on a bad day because we were rough and there was a dog meet up with some persistent barking dogs but I’m sure that’s more our fault! 😂

I was served by two girls, one with a plat and black hair, the other with blonde hair in a bun. I must admit that customer service was impeccable. The staff were friendly and polite. I received my drink in record time and it tasted amazing. Highly recommend, will absolutely come again in the future.

Nicely situated cafe beside the town walls. Friendly service and consistently good food. I didn't have the dog today but there are lots of dog friendly tables outside, always a bonus.

I went in for a warm drink to get away from the rain and cold. I was served by a very nice and polite woman with brown hair and glasses. I got a table right away and was served my caramel latte within 5 minutes of sitting down. The drink was lovely. I will certainly be coming back again.

A nice spot to grab lunch with a good menu. Portions are huge (especially kids meals) and food is high quality. It’s a dog friendly location, with a dog food menu, which was a nice touch. Staff were a bit grumpy, but I think the seagulls were stressing them out. We sat outside and had a great view of the castle walls, the road isn’t busy so it was very relaxing.

We arrived at around 5.45 even though we were the only ones here there was alot of people coming and going for collections.. The food was spot on and the portion sizes are generous, it is a bring your own bottle which they inform you of before you sit down, they kept the table for us while we popped to the spar shop to get a bottle of wine. Service was friendly and food was prompt. 👍👍👍
Jessica M — Google review
We received a warm welcome at this clean and tidy establishment. Poppadoms and pickle tray was very good. The chicken tikka was very good as was the chapati, garlic naan bread was decent. The chicken tikka madras was excellent, one of the best I've had in a long time. The poor lamb chops (2 per portion) were tough and chewy. Not licensed but they kindly let you bring your own alcohol. You are seated very close to the next table, which can be uncomfortable when you are wrestling a madras. Where we come from in Yorkshire we're lucky there's an abundance of this cuisine, so we have the very best, so I may be being a little harsh here. This establishment certainly served us the best Indian food that we had in this area.

Having ordered veg and non veg dishes non of them were seasoned. The ordered placed through just eat order number 665319237 and a verbal conversation was made directly with the restaurant in regards to allergies which were ignored. We called the them to complain about the lack of seasoning and the coriander the manager was rude and informed us that welsh people do not have salt in the food she asked to bring the food back to the restaurant so she could add the salt. When we mentioned the coriander and she argued with us and then said she will make a dish without coriander but still was very rude and asked u to come and collect it. There was no apologies from her.

A highlight is undoubtedly Johnny Doughs, known for its mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas crafted from high-quality ingredients.
We had a great stay here. They have a lovely pizza place downstairs and the accommodation was so comfy with a great view of the castle. Perfect location with easy commute to all other touristic sites such as the red house (the smallest house in Britain), the town centre etc.

So we stayed just one night here 22nd April and I have to say I wouldn't stay again although the location is good for the town and the food looked good in the restaurant thats where it ended for us. Unfortunately first impressions last the stairs leading to the rooms were very dirty and dusty, and our room (room 3) had issues Window would not open Blind was without a cord so you could not roll it down or up Curtain was off a couple of rings Shower was ineffective very low pressure No where to hang the towels in the bathroom. Chair leg was loose These were all cons The pros Nice comfy big bed Continental breakfast OK Free wifi The room was £93 for the night I'd have expected better.

Location, location, location! Just outside the walls of Conwy Castle, it's hard to get any closer. Our room was very comfortably furnished with a view of the castle right out the window. There are some stairs to climb and parking is a pretty big issue, but that seems to apply to all lodgings inside the walls. Nice little pub downstairs with friendly staff with quite a selection beers and Welsh Gins.

Always an excellent quality beer at The Bridge Inn. I noticed (but was not able to partake) an extensive gin menu. The beer garden was busy as was indoors on this mid September Friday evening - a good atmosphere with a good mix of ages - which considering it's Real Ale heritage - was a nice surprise.

Visited on way to the Castle. Looked lovely from the outside, was even better once we were greeted by the waitress. She was warm, friendly and very sincere with her welcome. Service was just as good when it came to taking our order, or bringing the order to us. We both had coffee and scones, which were really nice and tasty, and of excellent quality - just the energy boost we needed to get around the Castle. Price was very reasonable, and the other food we saw being served looked really nice. Lovely place to relax in the sun and have a snack/meal.

A real gem. If you enter from the street, you go through a nice little shop and then up some stairs. There is also an entrance to the rear direct from a car park by the castle. We were immediately enticed by the cheese in the cheese shop... Further deliciousnesses revealed themselves as we went in (wheelchair access not a problem!). We got back to the cottage, opened the bag, and are currently gorging on cheeses and planning future holidays entirely around return visits to the Cheese Room. Would've given 20 stars if I could, but alas - the wildness of my cheeselove remains oppressed.
