Echo Valley in Sagada is a breathtaking natural area with lush greenery, trails, and rock formations. It's home to the famous hanging coffins and offers visitors the chance to shout as much as they want due to the unique topography that prevents sounds from carrying across the valley. A visit to Echo Valley also includes a 2km walk to Bomod-ok Bigfalls, where you can experience native village life and rice terraces along the way.
Short walk from Sagada town. Beautiful valley and great view of the surrounding rocky landscape and the villages. You pass through a cemetery to get to this place. A little further are the hanging coffins.
Mayorosaldoong — Google review
This is a fantastic and scenic area for hiking in Sagada. Some of the best things to see are the Hanging Coffins, Latang Underground River aka Sagada Underground River, and of course the awesome karst formations.
Chung H — Google review
Just magical, the view was mesmerizing and it offers a walkthrough their rich culture. The rock formations, rivers, falls, foods, and coffins shows off their rich tradition and way of living that is something worth visiting. Registration fee: 100 Insurance: 50/1 day Paytokan walk: 1000/10 people
Winsly D — Google review
You need to register at the tourist office. Registration is 100p/pax and then you need to hire a guide for 300p for your group. Church also requires a 10p entry fee/pax. The walk is not difficult and has great views of Sagada village. Our guide was well versed and could answer all questions we had about this atypical burial site.
DominiQC A — Google review
Had a great time at the infamous Echo Valley in Sagada. History-rich in every step you take. At the bottom of Echo Valley, there’s a coffee shop called Baw-eng where the owner sells farm-to-cup coffee beside his coffee farm for PHP 80 per cup. He also sells local handicrafts and cookies.
Christian E — Google review
After visiting the hanging coffins, our tour guide let us continue on our own and visited a coffee shop in the middle of the jungle. We saw more hanging coffins as we walk.
Ced A — Google review
Awesome view from the top of the valley. Need to shout very loud to hear the echo.
Elmer V — Google review
What you see in picture are all of this. Walking through echo valley is great Go here before sunset. There's a spot for picture taking Hanging coffin is packaged with this location since Tourist guide is required (300) together with your receipt in tourism office Honestly majority of activities in sagada requires.tourist guide and receipt (easy on not, wether you like it or not) Usually 1hour to tour this location and alot of stair steps.

Sumaguing Cave is a centuries-old cave in Sagada, known for its impressive limestone formations and challenging spelunking opportunities. To explore the expansive cave network, visitors can register at the Tourist Information Center and arrange for an accredited guide to lead them through the three levels of spelunking activities. The first level offers a two-hour exploration within Sumaguing Cave, while more adventurous options involve traversing multiple caves with longer routes.
Have you ever done spelunking before? If not, then this should be an easy yes decision if your physicality permits. The cave is deep and dark (as they should), and our guide is deeply knowledgeable and funny, which made the experience even better. There are quite a few rock formations, from a queen’s vagina to elephants, crocodiles, and turtles. Expect to get wet and dirty, and there will instances where it will be slippery. But trust the process. I further recommend to go as deep as you can, especially the tunnel portion to get the full experience. Go there early to avoid the crowd. 7am - 8am is a good time, right after breakfast. It takes around 2 hours, so you will still have the rest of the day ahead. Peep the coffins at the cave’s entrance!
Kent C — Google review
I visited this cave after Go Sagada arranged transport and a guide for me. The Sumaguing Cave is the best caves in Sagada. Descending as much as 150 metres down, you'll get to see some incredible formations created by water, some of which have names corresponding to their visual, such as the bird and mother and baby elephants, the tortoise and palm tree. Near the bottom of the tour are pools where you can take a dip. The water is cool, but not too cold. Make sure you have the tourist tax and receipt from the Sagada Tourist office. I'm not sure if it's permissible to visit without a guide, but I would not want to go down without one. Awesome experience.
Chung H — Google review
I visited this place with my daughter, Ezra, and it has become one of the most unforgettable memories of my life—sharing the experience together made it truly special. The journey was challenging, and now I understand the meaning behind the tagline “I survived” in Sagada. I highly recommend it to those who seek adventure and thrilling challenges. Our tour guide was highly professional, and the photos they took were absolutely superb and amazing. Sagada is a must-visit! A perfect 5 out of 5.
Romeo A — Google review
First time trying out spelunking and I would recommend everyone to do this at least once in their life, the rock formations as you go deeper inside the cave just get better. Air is a little bit cold and so is the water so I recommend wearing sports clothing and your strongest slippers/hiking sandals for this adventure. You can also opt to explore deeper into the cave but you would have to go through tight, smaller holes. Expect to get wet and dirty. We went there at 8:30 am and got out around 10. We were the 2nd to arrive and while we were on our way back out, a lot of people were starting to come in so highly recommend to go there earlier.
Karlee C — Google review
This is one of the highlights of our Sagada experience. The cave is beginner friendly for those who want to experience cave spelunking. This has the biggest cave chambers among caves in Sagada. We entered the cave late in the afternoon but there are still a lot of tourists going in and out of the cave so it is safe to explore. This is a thrilling experience. Our young tour guide was very accommodating and made our cave experience easy and fun he even made gimmicks for our photos
Akuseru P — Google review
If you’re heading to Sagada and looking for something more exhilarating than sipping mountain coffee and pondering life at sunrise, Sumaguing Cave is a must. The rock formations are the main stars—impossibly intricate, with amusing names like the “King’s Curtain,” the “Pregnant Woman,” and the “Chocolate Cake.” Your guide will point them all out with equal parts enthusiasm and dry humor. There’s also a natural underground pool you can wade through, if you're okay with water that feels like it came from a melted glacier. The trail is very slippery and muddy the tour guide will ask you to remove your shoes as well for safety. Bring a dry bag or at least protect your phone and wallet. It's kind of hard you need strength going up.
Shey F — Google review
Amazing cave but dangerous, need tour guide if entering. Very challenging adventure.
Elmer V — Google review
Before you go spelunking, make sure you’re in top shape. The cave is super cool and the water is freezing, so you won’t get tired. But be careful when you go down because the rocks are slippery and you’ll need to step carefully.

Waterfalls
Bomod-ok Falls, also known as the Big Falls, is a breathtaking 200-meter tall waterfall hidden in Sagada, Mountain Province, Philippines. Despite the challenging two-hour trek through picturesque mountain villages and lush green rice paddies, visitors find the stunning view of terraces and hills to be incredibly rewarding. The trail to the highest falls in Sagada is paved but requires comfortable footwear and plenty of water due to the hot conditions.
If I had to choose between Marlboro hills and this one, I'd choose this. Pretty easy walk and the views are amazing. We went here end of Nov and surprisingly the water is not that cold. You'll pass by a convenience store halfway and there's an option to take a shuttle going back to the jump off point.
Leyneleen T — Google review
Easy Hike. Good for beginners. Nice falls, very cold water. You will be accompanied by dogs going to the falls.
Jovit V — Google review
This place is simply stunning. The majestic waterfall stands 60 metres and falls into a pool suitable for swimming. You'll need the tourist/environmental tax and receipt from the Sagada Tourist office in town, plus a guide to be hire near the start of the village.
Chung H — Google review
A hidden gem in the flatlands of Northern Sagada. You need to trek down a cemented set of stairs to get to the village, and eventually to the river and to the falls. Entrance fee is 10/head, guide fee is 500 per group of 7, and shuttle fee (if you're coming from the city) is 600. The trek down is around 2 km, and we got it in less than an hour (40-45 mins) without stop. It isn't that much difficult as the steps are small and you can really rush your way down. We entered through the tourism office (Bangaan jump off). We had it early morning (8:30 AM) so the sun is still calm and tolerable. We were the first to set and arrive at the falls. We did it on a Saturday, as tours usually do the Marlboro Hills/Blue soil first so there are no other guests aside from us at this point. You will pass by the village on the way. You can ask your tour guide/the tour guide will share with you the history of the barangays in the northern part, how they are different from the central Sagada, etc which are really interesting. Beautiful rice fields after the village--you can take instagrammable shots there. River is a bit dried out during summer, and there is also fewer water rushing out of the falls; the good thing about this is you can come closer to the falls, compared to when it's raining and you can only come to a certain point. Very cold water. Locals also come here to gather, swim, play. They were very nice and a good experience to immerse with the community. There's a hidden area some may check in; you need to crawl on the small chamber on the left and there's a mini falls facing right the big falls. Going up is the real challenge. We opted to exit in Pide, going up there is tolerable. You will exit right in the village and you will hike up a cemented road with less stairs. It was way easier as I imagined climbing back to Bangaan. The stairs going back are grouped together in big numbers, so you will be forced to climb continuously and it's very tiring!! Especially, under the heat of the Sun. In Pide exit, the stairs will only be on the last leg and it's tolerable compared to the ones we passed through in Bangaan. I would say it's worth the adventure! Not the best falls in the Philippines but definitely one great experience!

For any Sagada adventurer, especially first-time tourists, a trip to Bomod-ok Falls is an absolute must. Your journey begins at the Tourism Office, where you'll register and pay a tourism fee of PHP 100. A guided tour fee of PHP 1500 is also required, ensuring a safe and informative experience. The trek to the falls kicks off about 20 minutes from the tourism center. If you're new to hiking, expect the descent to take a few hours. However, seasoned hikers can complete the downward trek in as little as 30 minutes. As you make your way down, you'll pass through a charming Kankana-ey community and stunning rice terraces, offering incredibly picturesque views. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the splendid Bomod-ok Falls. Its crystal-clear waters are not only beautiful but also potable, serving as the main water supply for the surrounding community.

We visited Sagada on February 16, 2024, and on the second day of our stay, we went to Bomod-ok Falls right after Marlboro Hills - Blue Soil and Sumaguing Cave tours with only an hour or two of rest. We didn't want to waste time, so we made the most of the day. This falls is very beautiful, and the view on the way to the falls is stunning and worth it, although we got tired from the trekking going and coming back. The stairs going up, you will really feel the pain in your thighs after trekking. I regularly hike, I didn't get tired from Marlboro Hills, Blue Soil, and Sumaguing Cave. But it was here in the trekking to Bomod-ok Falls that I got tired in the afternoon, but all of that was worth it, and I didn't regret that we did Marlboro Hills, Blue Soil, Sumaguing Cave, and Bomod-ok Falls in one day. The tiredness was totally worth it.

Bomod-ok Falls in Sagada is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The hike to the falls is filled with stunning views of lush landscapes and terraced rice fields, making every step a visual delight. During our hike, we are also greeted with a field of wild sunflowers, making the experience memorable and sweet. A guide is required for the hike, ensuring you stay on the right path and learn about the local area. The trail itself is quite challenging, often steep and demanding, which can be very tiring and tough on the knees. Having a walking stick is highly recommended to help navigate the rugged terrain. However, the effort is well worth it. The sight of Bomod-ok Falls cascading down into a serene pool is breathtaking and a perfect reward for the hike. The falls is very cold and the water is deep. If you know how to swim, jump into the water to feel refreshed before your trek back. Despite the physical challenge, the experience of reaching the falls and soaking in the natural beauty of Sagada makes it an unforgettable adventure.
Rock M — Google review
It took us less than an hour to reach the falls. The route is cemented but better to wear slippers. The trek to the falls was fairly easy but the trek back was bloody because of the steep uphill battle. Our experience with bomod ok falls was okayish because we wanted to climb up the falls but it was raining during our visit so the water current was strong and dangerous to attempt to climb. On our way back, you can take the orginal route to the drop off point or take a lesser stressful climb. However, you will be charged 300 pesos for the latter route because its somewhat a short cut. Once you reach the top, you will again be paying 500pesos for a jeep ride back to the parking lot

Sagada Weaving is a must-visit souvenir shop in the picturesque Sagada, Philippines. It showcases the traditional weaving artistry of the Mountain Province, offering a diverse selection of handwoven textiles such as blankets and scarves crafted by local artisans. The shop reflects the rich cultural heritage and skilled craftsmanship of the Igorot people. Established in 1968, it is known for practicing both traditional and ethnic weaving techniques using purely spun polyester on backstrap and upright looms.
went here to buy woven stuff and was not disappointed, in addition to the usual woven bags and wallets, they also have woven guitar / camera straps 🥰 the ice cream vendor just outside the shop selling strawberry and avocado ice cream just added to the great experience
Oli G — Google review
A small business with 5-6 hand looms. Tremendous, as you can get very close to the weavers. Next door the material is sewn and items are for sale. Would be nice if there was some one to offer information - but still worth an hour visit. Closes for lunch at midday.
HeatSand C — Google review
Sagada Weaving is a small local shop worth visiting if you’re looking for handwoven wallets, bags, placemats, and other pasalubong items. The quality of their products is impressive—you can see the care and craftsmanship in every piece. Personally, I just wish they offered more modern bag designs to appeal to a wider range of tastes. One nice feature is that you can walk to the back of the shop and see the handlooms used to make their fabric. It’s an interesting glimpse into the weaving process, though it would have been even better if there was someone available to explain more about the craft and history behind it. Parking is available inside the compound, though space is limited. Street parking is also an option nearby. Overall, Sagada Weaving is a great stop for locally made items with a lot of heart and heritage—just a few small touches could make the experience even more engaging.
NJ P — Google review
a must-visit if you want to see authentic local craftsmanship. They’ve been around for decades, producing handwoven bags, clothes, and souvenirs that showcase traditional Cordilleran patterns. You can actually watch the weavers at work, which makes the experience more meaningful. The products are durable, practical, and make for great keepsakes or gifts. A place that preserves culture while supporting local livelihood.
Val T — Google review
It’s interesting how active the weaving culture is in Sagada. However, I expected more in this place. I wish they could have preserved more of the traditional way of weaving.

Sagada Pottery is a must-visit attraction in the picturesque town of Sagada, Philippines. This secluded house showcases a stunning collection of handmade pottery crafted by local artisans. Visitors have the unique opportunity to witness traditional pottery making in action, observing skilled potters shaping and molding clay into beautiful and functional pieces. Additionally, tourists can participate in hands-on demonstrations to experience the art and craftsmanship firsthand.
Great experience for watching live demonstration of clay work. Well-scripted to be clear, informative and interesting, shows the possibilities in working with clay, making it look easy and for a small additional fee you can have a guided go yourself. Workshops and shop are also available, kind and welcoming staff.

Sagada pottery is a craft from Sagada, a town in the Philippines. Local artisans create items like jars and cups using clay, often inspired by their culture and nature. These pottery pieces are functional. Visitors can also learn pottery-making from the skilled potters in Sagada for just Php 100.00. The only downside is that you will not do it alone. The potter will still hold your hand while learning the pottery-making. You can also buy the pottery that you have made. But it’s not cheap.
Cynthara L — Google review
Fun to experience making pottery using special clay. Demonstration group fee is ₱600 (8 pax), and ₱100 for hands on experience in making pottery (bowl).
Elmer V — Google review
I love this place! You can learn how to make a bowl in 2 minutes. ☺️ You can either buy it or leave it there. I am a bit possessive so I want to bring mine home. I got to pay a small price for it and wait for 4 months for them to send it to mel. The staff are very accommodating. We love Ardeth! Very talented, patient and funny! Speaks very good English, too! Do not leave Sagada until you pay them a visit!

June 2025 Pottery tradition that's been handed down through time. Here the methods have evolved but the creativeness is still very apparent
Oliver P — Google review
Best way to get there if you don’t have a car is via trike. It’s a super long walk from Poblacion area. In terms of price, it’s 200 for the demo and 100 per person if you want to try it out! Super fun and sulit activity you should definitely try. The instructor was also very informative and patient
Karlee C — Google review
We went there looking to have a great experience learning to craft mugs and stuff. The speech of the lady was learnt by heart, no emotions and passion felt. We were proposed to have a try and having the possibility to learn and have the freeness to make our own design but in reality we were hardly guided, hand to hand like guiding a baby of 3 year-old. The activity was quite express so a bit disappointed in that way, especially knowing that you have to pay extra for each person wanted to try ! We finally decided to buy our own made creation for quite expensive but there were no price for a great, personal and unique souvenir from Sagada. In fact, we waited for 4 months to receive it. The packaging was looking very weak (simple carton with inside our mugs wrapped by an insignificant layer of bubble wrap. One of the mugs was cracked, our names, date of creation and Sagada mentioned were written with a marker underneath and without any care ! The colour that we decided wasn't respected at all. The quality in general looks very poor knowing that it was managed by professionals afterwards our shaping. A long wait for a big disappointment ! I would rate them 3/5 but the bad surprise deserved a final rate of 1/5. PS: they did ship us a new replacement mug but it wont replace the one that is broken (made by us). Thankfully we weren't expecting that much from them, cause we literally received the unsold one that they seem like trying to get rid off it 🤣 It's not worth it at all, a tourist trap !
Ulysse — Google review
The most underwhelming experience in Sagada even though it’s one of the most famous tourist spot and activity. I was a solo traveler, i paid 400 pesos (300 for demo and 100 for self-practice) And the activity only lasted around less than 10 mins! What the heck lol. The instructor demo feels rushed and she was speaking very fast! Mind you i got there off season there was no other people but I don’t know why the session felt kinda rushed. I only got to try making pottery once! Just a simple bowl. An imperfect bowl. And that was it, done. Maybe I expected a bit more time and patience from the instructor, to really get to try out the activity and learn from it instead it felt like a waste of time and money to even go there. Buying the pottery you made is also expensive, you have to pay 1,400 to get your cured pot after maybe a month. The pottery shop items are also expensive imo, some don’t even seem to be of high quality and value. I at least thought i could bring home souvenir from here.

Restaurant
Sagada Lemon Pie House is a must-visit spot in Sagada, known for its delectable lemon pie. Owned by Joseph and Katrina Daoas, the restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with low tables for a casual dining experience. The original recipe from Joseph's mother adds to the authenticity of the pies, which are freshly baked and live up to their reputation. It's a popular choice among both locals and travelers, making it an essential part of any Sagada experience.
lemon pie is reeeaaally good! lemonade is also made from fresh lemon juice. went here for brunch and was not disappointed. food is good, again lemon pie is great, so far this is the only restaurant in town that I know that accepts Gcash as payment, and the owner is very hospitable and approachable despite the busyness of taking lots of pie orders.
Oli G — Google review
The lemon pie was decent but could use a better balance of tartness and sweetness. The crust was well-made, and we found the egg pie more enjoyable. Perhaps our expectations for the lemon pie were higher. The café had a cozy ambiance, and the staff were warm and welcoming.
Jeric B — Google review
I loved and enjoyed the vibes of the shop. The only comment would be the serving time as it could take slow if there are people on the line. The lemon pie is delicious. Will definitely come back.
Mico R — Google review
It was raining, so we stayed here to find solace through coffee and dessert. We ordered the lemon pie, egg pie, and brewed coffee. The egg pie was the relative standout. I personally liked that the lemons are locally sourced from Sagada itself. I liked it also that we were asked to take off our shoes before going in, and the woodware was incredible.
Kent C — Google review
Overall, didn’t really enjoy the food here Im so sorry. For the lemon pie, we got two slices but they both tasted different. One was zesty and the other had a weak lemon texture. Seems like a consistency issue. The crust was also so dry and hard and didn’t really make me want to finish the whole slice. The egg pie was better tho in terms of crust, texture, and flavor. There are three seating areas. Alfresco sitting, which is a vibe given the cold weather. One area is with short tables where you have to sit on the floor which is so not friendly for people with arthritis (they seat most people here since the restaurant was not full). Last seating area had table and chairs which honestly the most comfortable one with a better ambiance, (reminds you of your grandparents house) but we weren’t allowed to sit there.
Karlee C — Google review
The best lemon pie I've ever had! I absolutely love the place, the food, the coffee and the service.
Giovan A — Google review
Sagada Lemon Pie House offers more than just their signature lemon pies—it’s a place where you feel genuinely welcomed, even by their furry resident! I was greeted by their adorable pug dog who was roaming outside and, to my delight, literally asked me to open the door so he could come in. He’s incredibly friendly and absolutely loves belly rubs, adding a personal and heartwarming touch to the visit. As for the lemon pie, it was perfectly balanced between tart and sweet, with a flaky crust that complements the zesty filling beautifully. However, given that we were their first customers for the day when we visited in the morning, the pie wasn’t freshly baked—it was served cold, which slightly diminished the experience. Despite this, the flavors were still great. The rustic charm of the café, combined with the cozy ambiance and friendly staff (and pug!), makes this a must-visit spot in Sagada. Just a tip: it might be better to visit later in the day when the pies might be fresher.
Haniel C — Google review
This is a lemon house, but still the lemon pie is great, the lemonade is unlike those in the malls, really fresh lemons and the lemon tea is exceptional. We didn't have a full course meal, so i can't tell. But for what it's worth, their lemon products are really great. But why the 3 stars, for one they didn't have stocks because we really loved the lemon juice and we cannot take out. The way they desinged the place compliments their advertised product. But i can just only imagine how it goes if they run out of lemon supposing they don't have enough for take out. But if you're after a quick bite and longing for refreshments after a long hike in the caves and mountains, this is a must supposing they don't run out of lemons and their lemon drinks are just the same price that of a bottled water considering it's healthy lemon extract.

Pongas Falls, located in Sagada, Philippines, is a serene and hidden gem nestled amidst the lush landscapes of Mountain Province. The waterfall offers a refreshing retreat through a scenic trek that winds through verdant forests and local communities. It is reached by a moderate hike that takes about 45 minutes to an hour at a moderate pace. Visitors can choose to bring guides to help them scale the three tiers of the waterfall and take a dip in its icy cold pool.
Easy trail even for beginners. With a responsible guide and determination, one hour hike is worth it. For me, the scariest part is trekking the wet boulders with running water at the foot of the falls and ascending to the second level where a pool chest deep awaits those tired brave souls. Its worth the sweat !!!

Pongas Falls in Sagada is a hidden gem that rewards adventurers with its tranquil beauty. The journey to the falls involves a scenic trek through the lush surroundings, adding to the overall experience. The falls themselves, with their pristine cascading waters surrounded by verdant foliage, create a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation and reflection. While the trek may be a bit challenging for some, the captivating sight of Pongas Falls makes it a worthwhile destination for nature enthusiasts seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of Sagada's picturesque landscape.

The falls itself is great and the water is clean. However the trail up to the falls are not really maintained. After you get past the village, it will be a long hike with a lots of damaged concrete structures that can really be dangerous if you slip, and after that is you'll walk the top of a retaining wall that is about 0.20m in width, beside a mountain that can be like 30-50m high from the ground. Some of it are also damaged due to landslide so it's really tricky and dangerous to step on a loose soil or stone. The hike can last for about 45mins to 1hr depending on how experienced the climbers are.

If you love trekking, you must visit this place. Literally, you will walk for 1 hour and half ( in our case). But definitely worthy! The falls itself is a total beauty. Also, we found the best tour guide, so we really enjoyed it.

Great morning hike. Finished it probably around 2 hours. On the way there, you’ll get to see different crops. You’ll also get a glimpse on how the lifestyle looks like on a daily basis as you’ll meet some of the locals along the way. Make sure to watch your step as there are certain parts of the tour where the steps are slippery and narrow. I would recommend wearing something water-proof. Overall, recommended for beginners.
Christian E — Google review
Gotta love this place. The falls up close is truly majestic. Water is cool and perfect during the summer weather. I recommend though going during the off season of July through October. Less people more fantastic photos.

It was a tiring hike but extremely rewarding experience! The nature scene is simply breathtaking!

Road closed for reconstruction. Cannot access lake at this time. I will rate 5 stars because I’m sure it’s great but I cannot visit as of this time
Jack S — Google review
Been not exactly at the lake, but at the sunset observation point at the main road - good place to stay, although one can not exactly observe the sunset there 😃 The eatery is very nice and there is a not bad choice of local food, and even pizza.
Angel M — Google review
Five stars if it's a foggy day. Two stars if it's a sunny day. The fog makes all the difference. So if the rains spoil your Lake Danum sunset experience don't fret, the misty lake experience is more magical than the touristy sunset that's overrated. Just too many people all over the place when it's a clear afternoon they didn't realize the magic of the mists when the rains chase away all the distractions.
Joan A — Google review
this place is still closed until further notice, but you have an alternate place to stay, chill and relax just a little bit walk from here, it's called sagada etagchon, it is an overlooking mini resto that serves good pizza, boodle fight meals, coffee etc.. while viewing the beautiful sunset.

The Hanging Coffins of Sagada, located in the Philippines, are a unique and captivating sight. This ancient tradition dates back over 2000 years and is attributed to the indigenous Igorot people. The coffins are placed high on limestone cliffs as part of an elaborate burial custom. It is believed that this practice brings the deceased closer to heaven and protects their bodies from being disturbed by animals or other tribes.
A remarkable place. Our guide Arther was excellent, a local, provided loads of great information the walk is not too challenging ( we are seniors), well kept and clean. A great place to visit for a few hours. Walkable from Sagada tourist office.
HeatSand C — Google review
The famous Hanging Coffins of Sagada are one of the region’s most iconic and culturally significant attractions. To reach the site, you’ll need to take a short trek down a well-marked trail, which is manageable even for beginners. The path offers a mix of scenic views and fascinating insights into the local traditions along the way. Though the hike requires a bit of effort, it’s definitely worth it once you arrive and witness this unique burial practice that reflects the rich heritage of the Igorot people. A must-see for anyone interested in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.
Francis B — Google review
The hanging coffins are a really fascinating local custom. Although the most famous coffins are the ones placed on the mountain side. It's worthwhile getting a guide as you get more information about the history of this practice. The valley is also the site of caves which contain coffins. A guide will lead you to a couple.
Chung H — Google review
One of the must-visit places in Sagada is the Hanging Coffins—a remarkable site with a rich history behind this unique practice. It’s an amazing experience that made me feel deeply connected to my ancestors.
Romeo A — Google review
It's a wonderful place, if you're looking for some trail vibe, because it's a lot difficult to climb some rocks and pass through some tiny passages, especially for those who is not used to... But you will be okay, just rest and go slowly. Interesting history btw
André F — Google review
You will be amazed not just by the views but also the history of townsfolk and the history of hanging coffins. Burials have different spots, this famous area is the specific spot for tourism but before you reach the spot you still need to trek and hike for 10 mins which is a bit difficult due to the steep stairs might be a hassle for others such as senior citizens and some that have problems in knees, but overall it is a worthy experience.
Akuseru P — Google review
We heard interesting stories about the hanging coffins from our tour guide. While some might not support the idea of the mandatory tour guide, I believe this is one of those tourism activities that are worth supporting because visitors can learn something straight from a local (though these info are all available online).
Ced A — Google review
Our tour guide was very kind and accomodating.. The place is their burial ground, so don't expect fancy things. But please respect their culture. When I was on my way to the hanging coffins open to the public, I heard shouting and very loud laughing from other tourists. Seriously?! 😮‍💨

Masferre Photograph's in Sagada offers a cozy and homey atmosphere, with living and dining areas adorned with captivating photographs showcasing the area's rich history and culture. The gallery is managed by the photographer's daughter, who provides insightful details about the collection. Visitors highly recommend stopping by this small yet lovely gallery to admire the fantastic photos depicting the way of life in Mountain Province not too long ago. It is described as an inspirational place that is well worth a visit for anyone passing through Sagada.
Interesting private museum tucked along a street beside the main road. This is a private house turned museum hosting Masferre’s archives of photographs and prints. They provide a glimpse into the region’s history and culture. It’s operated by Masferre’s granddaughter herself and she was lovely. She provided a lot of additional details and anecdotes about the photos and Masferre’s biography.

Highly recommended and a must vist if you pass by Sagada. Authentic photographs of the tribes living in the mountain province from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. Pretty unbelievable that large swaths of the population where living a life nearly untouched just 70 years ago.

Closed when we went there. Says it on maps that it was open that day. Not sure if you need a reservation to tour. I really would like to go see it next time.
