Milestones Museum is a family-friendly attraction located in Basingstoke, just an hour's train ride from Central London. It offers an interactive experience that recreates street scenes with vehicles, shops, and homes from Victorian times to the 1930s. The museum features a small town setup with streets, laneways, shops, and homes reflecting life in Hampshire during different historical periods.
Highly recommend a visit here! Firstly when you consider that your ticket price gains you entry for the next 12 months it really is excellent value. The museum itself isn’t huge, you can spend a couple of hours max here. Interactive elements really make it! Visit the pub or use your ration card to get some sweets weighed out in the shop. Purchase some old pennies and enjoy the Victorian pier and play old fashion games. We particularly enjoyed this but I will say there was a lot that were out of order today unfortunately. The thing we enjoyed most at our visit this half term was the detective trail, taking you all around the museum solving clues and ticking off suspects until you got to the theif! Very nicely done and my son loved it. Not super busy either, especially for a school holiday. The shop at exit has some novel items in and lots of well themed old fashioned bits and bobs. Every person we came across working here today was extremely friendly and helpful! Liked their themed outfits!

A real gem. Hands on, so great for kids. We spent 2½ hours in the museum. Our grandchildren 10 and 12 loved it, we found it very educational for them. We had a light lunch in the cafe which we can recommend. All of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Free parking, and plenty of it. Milestones often have extra attractions running in school holidays.

A fantastic day out at Milestones Museum! We spent four hours there and the time just flew by — there was so much to see and enjoy! The exhibits were excellent, beautifully curated, and full of fascinating details. But what truly made the experience special was the staff. From the reception to the café and the shop, every team member was welcoming, professional, kind, and clearly passionate about both customer service and the museum itself. Their warmth and enthusiasm made all the difference. I highly recommend Milestones Museum for a day out with family — it’s a place of great learning, wonderful staff, and outstanding exhibits. A truly fantastic museum!
Paulo C — Google review
Great museum with plenty to see. From a modern exterior, you walk into a piece of history. You can have an audio guide to find out more about the exhibits. There were a lot of people in costume walking around and explaining everything. The sweet shop lady and the barman were very friendly, in fact all the staff gave a friendly smile. You can purchase a ration book and get your choice of ration sweets from the sweet shop, a really nice touch. There are lots of vehicles from fire engines, trams, cars etc. Several places to eat, the garden pavilion or rooftop cafe. There is also a 1940s pub. Wander around the shops fully of memorabilia, take a walk along the pier complete with penny arcade machines... you can exchange modern money for old pennies. They teddy bear museum was very cute. There are also costumes for you to try on as you walk around and get the perfect selfie. A very enjoyable place to visit, made extra special thanks to the staff.
Paula — Google review
Hadnt visited for 10 or 12 years so it was interesting to see changes and additions. A very quiet afternoon with hardly anyone there so taking pictures was easier and pleasing. Lady who runs the gramophone shop was very pleasant and informative about what was on display. Will visit again in the future.
M K — Google review
Really good fun! Loads to see and do to keep kids entertained, as well as interesting seeing and reading for adults. Love it. Didn't eat in the cafe but it looked great.
Tippers P — Google review
This is not an ordinary museum with exhibits in the glass cases (well, you will find some of these here), but very thoughtful and detailed historical reconstruction of the town through the time, with streets, shops, houses, garages, workshops, local transport, interiors with daily living attributes, seaside holidays attractions with working arcade games and the teddy bear museum. 🧸 Perfect for kids, as placing exhibits in context enables much better understanding of past life. You can enjoy a pint in the working pub, buy some old-fashioned sweets in the sweet shop, get some great coffee and cake or a proper breakfast/lunch in the cafe. The staff/volunteers are dressed up in the historical outfits, and they really care to give you the best experience. Tickets are not cheap, but at the moment there is a promotion on lovetovisit.com. There are discounts for kids, students, seniors, and disabled people who can bring their carer free of charge. The museum is fully accessible, with lifts, accessible toilets, and wheelchairs provided at the reception for anyone with mobility issues. Tickets are valid for the whole year, so you can revisit as often as you like and take advantage of different special events.
Agn K — Google review
Purchased tickets online at a cheaper rate of £10 (for a limited time) entry is only after 1pm. advertised as a 'quieter less busy' time which would suit us. Unfortunately when we arrived there were three coach loads of screeching six year old running around like a massive ADHD experiment. Luckily they departed after a while so we were left in relative peace. Exhibits are very well displayed with plenty of the relevant information. Plenty to see so give yourself a good 2 to 3 hours. Usual expensive cafe, Americano coffee was okay but £3.50 for a tiny slice of cake that would dissolve before it hit your stomach was a bit steep. Gift shop selling good old British memorabilia (all made in China) worth a look but definitely not at full price.

Nature & Parks
Eastrop Park, located in the east of Basingstoke, is a popular recreational park offering various activities for visitors. It features a boating lake, walking trails, a wading pool, and a children's play area. The park is easily accessible with pathways suitable for buggies and wheelchairs and offers two car parks on-site. Families can enjoy picnics by the large pond while observing nature or partake in outdoor sports.
I've lived in Basingstoke for 6 years and this was my first visit. A lovely place right in the centre of the town for a lunchtime walk. There's one lake with geese, swans and ducks, a boating lake also with many ducks and at least one big fish and a paddling pool for little children which is probably lovely on warmer days. There's also a nice little play area for children.
Teresa L — Google review
Less than 10 min walk from the main shopping centre in Basingstoke. Nice playground for kids and plenty of space for a picnic around the two large ponds. Toilets were closed when I visited (hence only 4 stars) but I think this was a temporary closure as they have been open on past visits
John K — Google review
A little gem in the heart of Basingstoke. Such pleasant views of the lakes along the walking/cycling path. Little paddling pool by the cedars and a very decent playground! Ideal for scooting, playing & picnic
Eleni D — Google review
Love it , we arrived after dark so it was tricky , signs are really small , but we've managed . Outdoor shower , with hot water -nice. One portable toilet , really clean and tidy -nice. Fire pits -nice. No signal -very nice . Really good place to reset from day to day live . Will come back again :)
Lucas K — Google review
There are numerous activities available, canoeing, and fishing. The walking paths are delightful, and children can cool off in the paddling pool. There aren’t enough benches but there are shaded spots to spread out a blanket. However, with my arthritic knees, getting up from the ground is a challenge, so I would have appreciated more seating options. Parking is a bit tricky due to the park's popularity, but overall, it is a fantastic park for a fun family outing.

Beautiful place. Summer hotspot with a duck pond, paddle boat hire, seasonal cafe and short walk to the town centre
Justine — Google review
Amazing place to visit. Nice peaceful place for a walk. Great access to Festival Place. Great parking available for free and charging points. Lovely park area for kids. Boating pond including model boat's
David P — Google review
Amazing park next to city centre with two good sized ponds and a smaller shallow paddle pond for kids. Nice for walk around the ponds and you can also walk towards Festival place which is just 10 min away for quick bite and shopping. Information regarding boat time/availability wasn’t correctly updated on the site. It also has two good sized parking areas but may get busy on a sunny weekend so plan accordingly.

The Anvil, a prominent performing arts center that opened in 1994, is known for its distinctive anvil-shaped design and exceptional acoustics, considered among the best in Europe. With a 1,400-seat auditorium, it hosts a diverse array of performances including opera, classical music, dance, touring bands and artists, musicals and stand-up comedians.
If you ever want to see a panto, i highly recommend. On a general not we pre ordered drinks for when we arrived and fir the intermission, no problems at all. And the staff were amazing!
Sara M — Google review
Theatre is well put together however the typical "trapped audience" pricing at the bar is extortionate. The acts were good however the seating being akin to an Indian train packed to the brim and about as comfortable as sitting on fresh piles. That being said, It was clean and the layout was good for viewing.
Oliver A — Google review
Look for what is is, it's not a bad venues for small shows. Have seen a couple comedians and music numbers there. Most seats have good visibility and sound is good. Now for the real take - the seats were designed by a professional interrogator .. there seat padding is non existent and ends up killing your back as you spine settles into the bottom. Ergonomic, it's not! The refreshments are ok. Most are expensive but not excessively so .. except for the wine. Don't order a glass of red .. it's canned and tastes like swill. All for £10 for 300ml. Total bill for two cans of water and a wine - £15. The water was £2.50 each.
Iain L — Google review
Here to see a comedian. Every seat has a good view of the stage and there are dedicated areas for disabled people and their companions. The seats are quite narrow and tightly packed in. I was squished between two quite large men with no wriggle room or elbow room. The seats themselves are quite hard, not something I would want to sit on for an extended period of time. There are a couple of bars serving a variety of quite expensive beverages to a captive audience. Prior to the auditorium doors opening if you get there early enough you will be lucky enough to grab a table to enjoy your expensive drink. On the plus side the theatre has a very fresh, clean and modern feel to it. Toilets are plentiful and the staff were lovely. If you follow signs for parking for the Anvil and end up parking on their side of the Festival Place car park, top tip. Arrive after 6pm. Parking is £2.40 and you can pay BEFORE the theatre event avoiding the long queues to pay. at the end of your theatre experience.
Deb L — Google review
Really good venue. Seating is well tiered for good viewing irrespective of who's sitting in front of you.. It is very close to a multistorey car park meaning you keep dry from the car to the venue.
Laurence D — Google review
Great venue. Good sound system. Comfy seats. Always a delay leaving the car park!
Kiera B — Google review
Fantastic venue. I dont know if there is parking closer to that i chose but was an easy 8 minuiet walk and car was safe with free parking after 7pm. The venue was clean, very helpful and friendly. My mum and I were waiting on somw relatives who were pushing it fine for time. We were welcomed In as it was raining. The box office said and problems they will help if my family couldn't make it as they had the tickets. Ticket scanners really friendly and helpful. Lovely place inside, plenty of leg room. Very clear view of the stage from half way. Sound was great. Will definatly come back again.
Harri F — Google review
Ive found the Anvil to be quite the brimming venue with seats for days and a bar thats actually reasonably priced. I saw the orchestra around animation last month and it was absolutely wonderful. Not being from the area I wasnt sure what to expect but don't be put off by reviews saying about prices. The experience of the venue is worth it.

Nestled in the charming Old Town Hall of Basingstoke, the Willis Museum & Sainsbury Gallery is a delightful destination for history buffs and art enthusiasts alike. As you approach, you'll be greeted by a striking bronze statue of Jane Austen, commemorating her legacy on the 200th anniversary of her death.
Amazing little place. Lovely staff, great local art work when we visited. Loved the Basingstoke history and a great place for children to join in art classes. Also has a cafe which is worth a visit on its own. Free entry with donation boxes.

It is a very pretty museum, you have a lot too see. I was really impressed. There is a nice coffeeshop, the staff are really pleasant and helpful. Not far away from the shopping centre, around the museum, plenty of restaurants. Free entry, but donation are welcome. Definitely recommend and I would come back.
Andreea D — Google review
Great local small museum at the top of town. Permanent displays upstairs about the history of Basingstoke, and frequently changing exhibits on the ground floor, quite often aimed towards children, eg this month is a Michael Rosen exhibition, with kids "trail' to follow, and also crafting workshop. There's also a small cafe and gift shop on the ground floor. There is no admission fee, donations welcome. Currently closed Monday and Tuesday.
Ben ( — Google review
Great place to go and look at the history of Basingstoke, the sainsbury art gallery was holding an exhibition of Ian Kirkpatrick and his 2d and 3d art pieces. Worth a look, there is also a nice cafe situated at the back of the art gallery, a nice fresh look and very welcome. The gallery and museum was free on entry but donations are welcome. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and full of knowledge.
Andrea M — Google review
Very nice place, in walking distance from train station/shopping mall with parking and plenty of restaurants. Museum itself may appear small, yet it manages to use little space quite well. There are several exhibitions, or so it was the case during my visit today, three to be precise. Staff is very friendly and they do run little café for convenient snacks break. Free entry is just cherry on top.
Dominik K — Google review
Compact exhibition space in a convenient location, close to theatres, cinema, shops, restaurants and parking. Have loved every exhibition I've been to there, including the current one featuring Ladybird book artists. Check opening days & hours before visiting as tickets need to be booked ahead due to the limitations on visitor numbers.

Very disappointed with this museum, was done it under 45 minutes, some interesting facts but not really worth it. It's also not pushchair friendly! There is not lift to get to the upper levels only option is to leave the buggy or carry it up. Very few interesting artefacts here.

A little tricky to spot, but so worth it. A beautiful, peaceful walk through the trees, even with a busy road alongside. It started with a run in with a swarm of ladybirds that provided loads of laughs (I have never seen so many in one place and they all seemed to love me). A few dog walkers around. I will definitely go back and walk longer next time.

We had Jordan as our instructor. He was absolutely fantastic. I’ve done a previous session and skydives before and he was honestly brilliant. Kept everyone calm and having fun and the group had a really good time. Very impressed. Thank you so much for making our session!

My children were bought vouchers for Ifly Basingstoke as a Christmas gift. It was the most amazing experience for them. My husband and I also bought tickets, but we did this directly through Ifly, which is more expensive. I would recommend if you’re buying flights that you do it through a voucher rather than directly with the fly Centre. A top tip is that you can also upgrade your experience while you’re there i.e. Add on an extra flight or add-on the high flies, photos and videos. We did get photos and videos through the package that we had bought however these were a little blurry (Maybe their lens needs a little polish) so if you have someone go with you, they would be able to take just as nice a photo. We had such an amazing experience!! My daughter was incredibly nervous about the situation and our instructor put her at ease. He made necessary adjustments to her kit and her flight to ensure she had the best experience possible. Our instructor, Liam was professional and fun and made sure we had the best fly whilst learning techniques at the same time. I would definitely recommend this experience and this fly centre. Definitely recommend Liam if you have a nervous flier!

Amazing experience for my 9-year-old boy! 😎 He was a bit scared at first, but Dominic (his instructor) guided him so well. Thanks to Dom’s patience and encouragement, my son enjoyed all four of his flights and did great! 2 were high flying 🤩. We absolutely loved it 😍. Thank you, iFLY and Dom, for an unforgettable experience!
Swati K — Google review
Dom was an excellent instructor and made my two children (8 & 13) feel incredibly comfortable- they had the best time. Thanks for taking the time to explain all the hand signals & all instructions. Fabulous experience

An absolute blast…. Booked for a birthday treat for my 7 & 9 YO boys, unfortunately VR is only available for 10+ so had to reshuffle the booking to remove VR flights. Our instructor Rich was ace- lots of tips, great feedback and interaction with us all was delivered with enthusiasm….. a great day to remember thanks to Rich and the team…🤙🏻 In the words from my boys, Rich now holds legendary status….💪🏻, and is a credit to iFly..!!!
Sam C — Google review
Rich was amazing with are children Mia-May 9 & Ethan 7, he couldn't do enough for them, helping them in every part of the process, & as for the flying part, the kids had so much fun, we have booked more sessions, for a surprise for Christmas, thanks again, see you soon 👍
Steve J — Google review
Drove 1 hour to basingstoke ifly for my wifes birthday treat getting the 2x flight + vr package as well as photos/camera upgrade. On arrival there was construction work being carried out right next to the viewing area. Liam was my wifes instructor participating in a relatively large group. She was told the same instructions as everyone else (despite being the only one who will be using the VR package). She was told as was everyone else that everybody was welcome to go up higher if comfortable at additional £20 cost which was fine for her. As it was a large group they were all taking it in turns on the 1st go which was fine however my wife was made to wait until the very end when everybody had finished their 2nd flight and 3rd and 4th flights if they paid for it and each time it was her turn she was sent to the back again making her uncomfortable. When it was at the very end the instructors had issues with the VR before handing it to her and she said it was foggy and blurry and completely unusable and was not offered to go high at all despite being told at the start she can. Liam told us afterwards it was his mistake and that it was due to the VR. The icing on top was half the videos and pictures were blurry and unusable as well. We complained to reception who offered us a consolation flight but we had to wait another hour which we didn't have. This has to be one of our worst experiences and i'm absolutely disgusted and appalled at the amount of money we've paid to be treated as worse than an afterthought. Will not be coming back.
V C — Google review
Rich was an amazing instructor and made us feel at ease. Ash was very helpful in the desk and we felt it was such good value we booked a block session. Owen was very professional in the control room. Jordan and Jodie kept the place really clean and again, made us feel easy. Thank you it was great!

Hollywood Bowl Basingstoke is a chain tenpin bowling alley that offers various amenities such as an on-site snack bar, party deals, pool tables, and arcade machines. Visitors have noted that the venue has been refurbished and offers reasonable prices for two games of bowling and a drink. Families with young children appreciate the ball assist and automatic bumpers available on each lane. Additionally, the arcade provides entertainment for kids, although it may not be cost-effective.
I visited for my brothers birthday and came back the next day for my mothers birthday! We booked in advance, so there wasn't a wait time (I recommend doing this so you're guaranteed a lane. Unless you are okay with waiting if they're busy!). We had three games total over the course of the two days we went and they were very fun! The place was clean and the arcade machines which we bought money for in advance were actually very fun. If you have pound coins and want to win a bunch of tickets, i recommend bringing some for the fidget spinner game because that gave me well over 50! 😂 (I also won a Magic Worm, lmao)- I recommend it!
Primrose H — Google review
The experience was fantastic. Clean and super easy. Got tickets online and a time slot. Staff at bar was abit slow, like really slow and it does eat into your time to order stuff. Otherwise it was very enjoyable
Chris K — Google review
Has improved over the past 18months, noticeably- well done! Food was hot, well cooked and arrived quickly as did the drinks and this was on a busy Saturday. Lanes were all working well and there were lots of balls. Staff were friendly too! It was also nice not to have pre-booked. Lost a star as the ladies toilets were stinky, and instill hate bowling where the pins are connected to ropes- they just don't fall correctly.
James P — Google review
This place needs to be refurbished.. Toilets have broken locks, toilet paper is basically see though tissues paper, instead of soap there's hand sanitizer. It was way too hot with hot air blowing from the AC. Other than that the bowling experience was good, some arcade games were broken though..

I’ve now visited Basingstoke Hollywood Bowl both with my wife and on a separate occasion with the kids, and I can confidently say this place is consistently fantastic. Every time we’ve been, the experience has been fun, smooth, and incredibly well run. The venue is spotless, from the lanes to the seating areas and even the arcade section. It’s clear that cleanliness and presentation are a top priority here. The staff are a real credit to the business. Always friendly, helpful, and professional. You can really see that the management team has a clear vision, and it’s being carried out brilliantly by the entire frontline team. Keep up the great work, we’ll definitely be back again soon!

Went to the arcade on a very busy saturday and kept having little problems, the 10p machine didn’t load my contactless and i hit the jackpot on a machine and it ran out of tickets, a member of staff Zuu was absolutely amazing and came to help me with my problems I had, apologising and even helping me get my stuck toy out the 10p machine! She was absolutely amazing under the pressure of such a busy arcade, lovely lady very happy and helpful!! Highly recommend here! My experience was very good

The War Memorial Park in Basingstoke is a serene green space that offers various amenities for visitors. It features a playground, bandstand, tennis courts, BMX track, and an aviary. Originally established as the grounds of the Georgian estate Goldings in the 1780s, it was later purchased to house Basingstoke's memorial after World War I. The park boasts mature woodland, sports facilities, and attractive parkland landscapes with trees and garden features.
Beautiful open space with parking. Play park for kids and plenty of space to play football and enjoy a relaxing walk. Also a skateboard park and bike park Worth a vist and only a short walk to main town and shops and restaurants with plenty of choice

What a war memorial park. Massive place. Beautiful. Clean. Loads to do too. Skate park, parkour structures, football pitches, play ground, toys, zip line, woodland area, wildflower area, butterfly area and more.

I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised by how amazing the Festival of Sport and Wellbeing was at the War Memorial part - at the heart of the town the community. Seeing such a wide variety of activities—from acro, cycling, and Boccia, to gymnastics, hammer throw, archery, swimming, surfing, and climbing—was incredible. It truly showcased the diversity and beauty of sport, all within the lovely setting of the War Memorial Park. The event made great use of space and felt inclusive and vibrant throughout. What really stood out was the atmosphere—it felt like a real celebration of community, health, and activity. To be honest, events like this should happen every weekend! We were especially grateful that all the rides and activities were free. It made the day thoroughly enjoyable not just for the kids, but even for the teenager in our group (no small feat!). We left feeling proud of Basingstoke and so appreciative of everyone who made the day possible. We had an absolute blast—thank you!

Went to The War Memorial Park to attend the Basingstoke Festival of Transport on the 19th May, but the park itself is huge and seems to be well kept. Lots of greenery and two parks, one designed for younger children whilst the other is appears to be designed for older children both look well maintained and everything seems to be there and worked. Perfect place to take your pooch and have a picnic! There is plenty of room for ball games, too.

Don’t miss the Basingstoke Festival Of Transport next year. A free annual event that has been running for nearly 40 years. First staged by the Thornycroft Society to keep the memory alive of this iconic Basingstoke manufacturer, the organisation of this massive show of cars, motorcycles, clubs, commercials, PSVs and military etc is run by the Rotary. The sun shone on a great day and folk enjoyed ice cream and all the usual great catering to be found at this type of event. There were also great performances in the band stand, including the ladies rock choir. In all, a well organised event. A private ambulance was on site throughout the day, the volunteers had a terrific communication set-up and there were representatives from the Hampshire and IOW air ambulance and lowland search and rescue. Traffic marshalling was run by the team from Hants and Berks 4x4 response. Finally, there was some great buys and interesting items to pour over along the many stalls and raffles from some of the charities present, including Prostate health for men. If you don’t attend any other motoring event next year, don’t miss out on this one, there’s something for everyone. Loads of parking both on and off site. On-site was £5. Adrian Munday

Really enjoyed this Park and hope that it is appreciated by everyone who uses it as it is a lovely place which is very much a hidden gem of Basingstoke. Great mix of ancient trees, grassland, plants and play equipment for the kids. The aviary was really nice to see as well, just a nice place to be. Good to see the sports pitches being used for Sunday League Football as well.

Nestled to the north of Basingstoke, near Popley and Chineham, lies the enchanting Basing Wood—a perfect escape into nature throughout the year. Whether you're seeking a refreshing winter stroll, engaging in autumnal den building, enjoying a spring picnic, or observing butterflies in summer, this woodland offers something for everyone. With three distinct walking trails—blue, yellow, and green—there's plenty of variety to keep your adventures exciting.
Wellies are a must! Very muddy and boggy in places. We will definitely be coming back in nicer weather to make use of the play area and explore more. Lots of different routes to explore - you could spend the day walking around here.
Hiker M — Google review
Nice walk around woods with a small play area, with rocks & bridges for my grandsons to climb. It wasn't too busy but did see a few dog walkers. A bit of a hill climb through the woods, so avoid this if you struggle. Overall a nice place to visit
Lesley B — Google review
Beautiful place to indulge with nature. I suggest going early in the morning at the break of dawn to catch the glimpse of morning nature. You can hear the chirping of birds and I also got some deer wandering. A very good place for hiking and for dog walking. There are 3 trails: blue, yellow and green; each with its own length. The only downside is that you might need your Wellies to deal with mud on a wet day. Otherwise, I would give this place 5 star rating. Amazing display of nature in the heart of the town.
Vinny S — Google review
Lovely walk, I like the fact you have 3 different trials to choose from, good idea so you don't get lost.. especially as yesterday was the first time I had been. Very peaceful, you can't hear anything but birds singing which is lovely.
Lynda D — Google review
Pros: Great free place to go, good for kids and adults alike. Lovely walks through the woods and has a few things for kiddies to play on in one area. Great for picnics, quiet walks, scavenger hunts etc. Cons: Although you can get a wheelchair through (we had a childs one), it is by no means easy. Deep furrows, muddy puddles, large tree roots and some quite steep trails being the main issue. Also, no toilets anywhere nearby. If you're able bodied, parents with children who love to explore, dog walkers, ramblers etc then it's a fantastic place to go.
AISHA E — Google review
A huge forest with a nice picnic area/adventure style playground. Plenty of wildlife. Seen lots of deer, rabbits, and a variety of birds during my walks. Very popular with dog walkers. Plenty of parking spaces next to Popley Fields Community Centre. Definetly worth a visit.

Went for a stroll through Basing Woods on a whim and loved it. Such a surprise to find such a big woodland area so near a residential estate. The play park inside was so suited for the forest, trails were so easy to follow and varied in environment. We saw loads of wildlife too including Deer. Be good for a walk for old, young and dog walkers.

Nestled in the charming village of Old Basing, just a stone's throw from Basingstoke and conveniently accessible via the M3 motorway, Basing House serves as an ideal stopover for travelers. Whether you're exploring local gems like the Milestone Museum or Hackwood Park, or planning a staycation to visit iconic sites such as Highclere Castle and the Bombay Sapphire Distillery—both within a short drive—Basing House welcomes all visitors with open arms.
Old Basing House, described as a motte and bailey castle and fortified manor house, although the motte is most likely a ringwork with the bailey being added after. The area of Basing is first mentioned in the will of King Edred (946-955). Basing was held in 1086 by Hugh de Port as the centre of his 55 lordships in Hampshire, he may have owned the other motte and bailey to the N/W. A fortified house was built on top of the motte/ringwork after 1531 made of red brick. It was held for the king during the ECW and was altered with earthworks to hold cannons, it was involved in a famous siege in 1643-45 by Oliver Cromwell, it was eventually taken and then destroyed to stop it being reused. It was never rebuilt but a lot of the bricks were reused in the building in the village.

Basing House is a 16th-century Tudor castle that now serves as a museum, offering historical information, community events, and guided tours. Once one of the largest and wealthiest palaces in Tudor England, it has hosted notable figures such as Queen Mary and Elizabeth I. Despite being partially destroyed during the English Civil War, the ruins still stand as a testament to its rich history.
Had our wedding here start of Sept and it was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a rustic barn for their wedding venue! The barn and area are so rich in history, not to mention self catering so you have the freedom to arrange your own food etc and also being dog friendly - which ticked all our boxes when planning our wedding and choosing the venue. Kirstie and the team were also absolutely brilliant and so helpful with helping organise the day and ensuring everything went smoothly, communication leading up to the day was also great. Thank you Kirstie and the Basing House team!

We had our wedding at Basing House at the weekend and had the BEST time! Kirstie and team were absolutely amazing, and they worked so hard on the night behind our very busy bar! The venue is stunning, and we would absolutely recommend hosting an event here! Thank you again! 🥰

A great barn built 1535 on the south side of the River Loddon was part of The Grange, the centre of food production for Basing House. It was built in Tudor times with over 1 million bricks and is one the largest of it's kind in England, it was involved in a siege between 1643-45 during the ECW and suffered some damage from cannon fire. Today it is a visitor centre for the castle of Old Basing House. There is a small cafe and shop, I spent a while chatting to a lad called Conner while it was raining, he was very knowledgeable, respectful and a credit to the barn.

We recently held a corporate event at Basing House Great Barn, and it was absolutely fantastic. The venue itself is stunning – full of character and history, with a beautiful setting that really added something special to the day. It was the perfect backdrop for our 20-year business celebration. The team at Basing House, managed by Hampshire Cultural Trust, were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the planning and on the day itself. Everything ran smoothly and professionally. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience – highly recommend Basing House for any corporate or special event!

We had our wedding here on 27th April and could not recommend Basing House enough! The venue itself is so rich in history with a beautiful great barn and surrounding gardens which make the day so unique. The whole viewing/planning process was fantastic from start to end and Kirstie made the whole process so enjoyable. We completely trusted her and the BH team in every step of the way and it was a breath of fresh air compared to many other corporate wedding suppliers. If you want something a bit different, affordable and that will be truly unique then I would 100% recommend Basing House as a wedding venue!! Thank you to Kirstie and the team for making our day so memorable!

It is highly recommended to bring along a picnic for an extended period of relaxation near the tranquil ponds.
Very nice place for the kids and the adults to relax. Lovely pond with ducks and swans. They have finally put up a notice board that says ‘not to feed the ducks/ swans any Bread” which is just AMAZING.

Quite a nice place to relax and unwind, can get quite busy at times due to the number of people walking their dogs. Plenty to keep children's attention spotting ducks and swans. Reasonable sized car park with a few walks leading to the ponds and through under the carriageway bridge to slow moving stream and large open field.

I used to live near here, and often got take out on the way home from work. Have eaten here regularly for many years. We now live in Florida and still visit every time we come home. So that’s close to 30 years in total. Food is always excellent and service to match.

Pizza was burn greasy and disgusting, not recommended, definitely someone there can't cook
Monika D — Google review
Truly awful. Stood for over 5 minutes at the front desk waiting for anyone to speak to us. Shown to the table at the far back corner of the restaurant where we waited… had to ask someone to take our order. Food came before drinks, drinks glasses were filthy, ended up drinking from the bottles. Pizzas were cold, and soggy. Way too much sauce, not enough cheese or cooking. Came to the bill, had to argue with the waiters to get the kids meals free (despite the clear offer)… all in all awful, give it a miss. Rude, unwelcoming place. Go to town, it’s much better.
Sam H — Google review
Service was great couldn’t fault that, and the food was proper tasty and would have really enjoyed it, had it not been served on a cold plate, my pizza was cold within 2 mins which wasn’t great, surly hospitality 101, hot service? Would have thought a big chain like this would have a handle on something so basic by now! But it was good Pizza 🍕
James S — Google review
Ordered online. I arrived early to make sure it's be hot, but the pizza was cold, with hardly any of the main ingredient. The BBQ wings were actually the lemon and herb wings, with a bit of BBQ sauce on... When I arrived and the manager (I think), was chatting to a friend through a window, then sliced my pizza on the front desk in front of me. Wouldn't mind IF the food was nice, but it was not.

Great pizza express restaurant. Service is very good and food as expected from Pizza Express. Well presented and tastes great. Kids menu is great and I really recommend downloading the App which allows you to split bills, use freebies and pay without waiting. The only downside here at the moment is all the roadworks going on and the lack of parking. I prefer to park down the road at the football ground buts its not the best and poorly lit. But worth the effort to come here, evrryone enjoyed their food. Especially the kids. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Couldn’t decide between 2 or 3 stars. £100 for a family of 4… pizza was like a biscuit around the edges, and bruschetta had a small portion of really cold tomato. Drinks arrived after starters. Just felt like poor value for money when PE has always been reliably good food at reasonable prices. Nothing badly wrong - just not worth the trip out. Last visit for me, sadly.

Planet Ice Basingstoke offers a variety of ice skating activities, including 30-minute lessons with qualified coaches and free skating sessions. The rink also provides comfort food meal deals for visitors. It is a popular destination for families, friends, and even ice hockey enthusiasts who come to watch the Bison matches. Despite some concerns about maintenance issues in certain areas of the facility, such as the bathrooms, many visitors have found the prices reasonable and have enjoyed their experiences at Planet Ice Basingstoke.
Brilliant place for a date, to go for a bit of fun or watch a ice hockey match. It's always clean and staff are inviting. Took my wife there for her first time skating and she enjoyed it, everybody was happy and helpful too. Prices are good, parking is free and combine it with bowling, cinema, and local restaurants you can have a lovely day out. Updated, took 2 kids I childmind for a day out and they got exhausted quickly. They did enjoy it but price for kids is a little high. Other than that it was still fabulous and a lot of fun, even if it's run down.
Ashleigh C — Google review
Been to a fair few Bison matches here, and have been ice-skating here also. Undoubtedly the best ice hockey team in the area, but the conditions of the ice rink are terrible. Prices are a lot cheaper than I had expected them to be when I first came here, and ever since I've been almost content with everything they offer. However, I have to mention the state of the bathrooms, I'm honestly so surprised by the lack of maintenance considering how many people come here daily. If you improve those facilities then I'd consider 5* but until then you may want to make toilets your priority.
E — Google review
The place is very bad. I remember going here as a kid and being excited. Now the place is falling apart. The toilets were horrendous, there was no hot food or cold drinks. The Pap Johns had closed completely. The Bison have left! It’s a mess! Such a shame for Planet Ice!
Michael I — Google review
Awfull experience and was only on the ice for 5min. The blades on the shoes they supply are all blunt and tried three of them. The ice is in such bad shape with melted areas. The building is run down with scaffolding, keeping the place up. Don't waste your money. Go too guildford instead.
Marijo E — Google review
The only good thing about the rink is going to see the Bison team play. The rink is sinking, the floor is incredibly uneven and slippery, the general state is frankly in disrepair. I paid £28 for my two children to skate, this doesn't include skate hire. Worst of all is the diabolical state of the toilets, they are literally disgusting. If you're looking to skate I'd recommend going elsewhere, it's worth travelling.
Charlotte M — Google review
The place is holding on by a thread. Covered in mould, unable to close toilet doors. It’s colder than Antarctica. It’s a health hazard.. even has a patch of flooring where there is supposed to be ice in the rink! Shocked they can still allow people in without a waiver to sign..
Emma S — Google review
Real nice looking facility. Very large rink but the rental skates are terrible. They don't fit well and are not sharp in the slightest. I was in a party of four and three of us left with blisters after skating for only 20 minutes (and we tried on multiple pairs of skates because they all fit so poorly).
Ken W — Google review
Apart from watching the Bisons, I hate to say it the place is a dump. Stairs to the stands are on a slant, the rink is sinking below the barriers, half the stands can't be occupied, bisons success banners are falling down or just completely gone. Toilets are a mess. Food and drink is expensive. It was £5 for a rollover hotdog and £5 a pint. Disabled accessibility is awful too. It consists of a wooden box with a ramp on it and you can't actually prebook a disabled place either, it is a first come first serve basis which is appalling in this day an age. It is in need of a massive renovation because the bisons deserve a better rink to play on and the public deserve a better rink to skate on. I will return to watch the bisons but that is it. Bisons and the fans are the only think that gives this place even the smallest bit of life

We visit here every year for Halloween almost as a tradition. The recently built structure next to the track switches on lots of lights for security which made the ride less spooky and spoiling the fun. Apart from that it is a fun silly ride for a couple of quid which I would highly recommend for anyone for a casual visit. They are open during non Halloween times too if you are into miniature train rides but don't like the dark spooky setup over Halloween

We live in Old Basing which is the village side of the common. It's a great place to take your dogs, and I'm often I'm here and enjoy it, sadly though my partner is disabled and has a mobility scooter, we've contacted the council numerous times about this that there is no access for disability people to enjoy the same common as everybody else. At one point they did Make a special Modification on one of the gateways next to The Village Side, but this was taken out by the new people that have their horses on the fields, as far as I know they're allowed to be on their rent free as I must stay upgrade and secure the area, maintaining the fences and gateways, we asked the council again to help make this access available to disabled people also because they can go with their families or their dog it seems very unfair that there's no access whatsoever to these areas for disabled people. The problem is the gateways don't allow a large enough space for a larger mobility vehicle to get through. We suggested that they had a special key like the one you use in a disabled toilet to be able to open a side gate, if the gate is on a spring back then it won't stay open if somebody accidentally forgets. 7 fortunately I'm a little unhappy that I can't go there with my partner as well

It's a great place to walk, obviously can be muddy sometimes. In summer, there are horses grazing on there, which is lovely. One word of warning, there are rabbits around, so make sure you watch your step, as there are plenty of holes in the ground.

If you're looking for an exhilarating indoor adventure, look no further than Flip Out Basingstoke! This vibrant park is the ultimate destination for families and thrill-seekers alike, offering a fantastic array of activities to keep everyone entertained. With over 50 trampolines, a laser quest arena, and a soft play area, there's something for all ages to enjoy.
We went to Flip Out at Festival Place Basingstoke in continuity after enjoying the Festival of Limitless Extreme Sports and watching amazing somersaults. Flip Out was a refreshing and welcoming space , well designed and cushiony everywhere — spotless, fun, and full of energy. There were plenty of coaches around, making it feel both safe and engaging. It’s becoming one of the best trampoline spots in Hampshire. The space is well-designed, with a trendy, dark vibe and a groovy green theme that helps you let off steam and bounce higher. We felt super welcomed and had an amazing time!

Had an amazing time at Flip Out Basingstoke! Super clean, well-organised, and packed with fun for all ages. The trampolines, foam pits, and obstacle courses kept everyone entertained for hours. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place had a great vibe. Perfect for burning off energy and having a laugh can’t wait to come back!

Flip out hosted my daughters birthday party. All the children had great fun. Our party host was amazing with the children. The lady on the lazer quest was not so friendly. But all in all, it was a great experience.

We visited today as a family of 5. Kids age 10 and 15. Lots of choice of activities but not all open. Some bits are a bit tired and dark but this didn’t stop the fun. The kids particularly liked the stunt area. Overall it was clean and the staff were friendly. The kids already want to go back!!

⭐ One Star Avoid. Go to Camberley Jump In instead. I visited Flip Out with my wife and our three year old after having positive experiences at other similar venues however nothing positive about this place. We were overcharged by twelve pounds at the start and were then informed there is a strict no refund policy. Not a great introduction but I reluctantly agreed to spend the extra money in the overpriced café. Once inside, the facility looked neglected. Equipment appeared ripped, dirty and out of use. We began on the trampolines only to be confronted by a very aggressive young staff member telling us we did not have the correct socks. I explained we had brought specialised socks purchased from a reputable provider specifically for trampolining and soft play. These were not cheap low quality socks but we were told we had to use theirs. We reluctantly changed into their poor quality socks which were uncomfortable and left marks on our feet. We then tried to explore other areas only to be repeatedly told our son could not go on various activities. At this point almost fifty minutes had passed and our son had still not been able to do anything meaningful. When I politely asked the staff member to clarify what we were actually allowed to use, she told us only the working trampolines. My wife then tried jumping gently with our son and yet again we were approached by the same staff member accusing her of jumping too high. She was barely lifting her feet from the ground. This was happening while teenage boys only a few metres away were launching themselves high into the air doing flips completely unchallenged. It felt like we were being singled out and targeted. We eventually gave up and left. I approached the reception manager to give them an opportunity to acknowledge the situation, take my details, apologise or offer to follow up. Instead all I received was a dismissive “thank you for coming.” This venue is a disgrace. The staff are unprofessional, the facilities are run down and the overall experience is unacceptable. It should not be operating in its current state.
Oliver T — Google review
Totally Overpriced and Rude Management I had a terrible experience at Flip Out Basingstoke. They charged me £14.95 plus another £11.50 — over £26 for just one hour for my 4-year-old! That’s ridiculous, especially when small children can only use a limited area. It honestly feels like they’re ripping people off. When I tried to question it, the staff were rude and dismissive. The manager, Aja, didn’t listen at all — she just kept repeating policies instead of understanding what I was saying. The whole interaction was unpleasant and unprofessional. I actually wanted to give 1 star, but I’m putting 3 because I’ve heard that low-star reviews often get pushed into a separate section. I want people to actually see this and be aware of what to expect. Wouldn’t recommend this place — it’s overpriced, poorly managed, and customer service is shocking.
Farhad P — Google review
Great place for younger children to teenagers, with trampolines and slides. We had a great time here and we would come back again.
Alina ( — Google review
Disorganised chaos. Place is extremely dirty and not ran very well. You are greeted by 3 lanes with no signage on where you need the go. The queue takes ages and we were waiting 15 minutes, missing part of our allotted time slot. Most staff are extremely young and do not really know what is going on. You are forced to buy branded socks despite having grip socks from another venue. The cafe isn't manned and you have to wait an age. £3 for a spectator to sit in the cafe is rip off. Avoid for b tree venues/activities elsewhere.

Chineham Shopping is a vibrant shopping center that offers a variety of experiences for visitors. The center hosts special events, such as meet-and-greets with popular characters, making it an exciting destination for families. Visitors have praised the friendly and helpful staff at the on-site veterinary clinic, highlighting the warm reception they received. The shopping center has seen significant investment, evident in its diverse range of stores including well-known brands like Tesco and M&S Food.
I had a great experience at McDonald’s Chineham Centre! The restaurant is clean, modern, and well-organized, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The self-order kiosks are super convenient, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. My order was prepared quickly and was exactly as I requested—hot, fresh, and delicious. I also love the spacious seating area and the fact that they offer table service, which makes dining in even more enjoyable. The 24/7 opening hours are a huge plus, especially for late-night cravings. Overall, a fantastic McDonald’s location with excellent service and food quality. Highly recommend!

Absolutely dire area dominated by supermarkets and junk food outlets. You get the bonus of admiring empty derelict units where businesses have closed down. A naff nasty place that’s only saving grace is the library. If they shut that, there will be no point in visiting anymore. Also be aware that they have upgraded all the CCTV so you will be scanned and monitored all the time in true 1984 Big Brother style.

Lovely little area with a great selection of shops. Quite nice to wonder around on a Saturday and pick up what you need. Each shop takes pride in there customer service from the pet shop to the hairdresser's to charity shop, boots and Tesco. Lovely community feel and well kept.

A mix of old and new and suitable for a range of shopping requirements. Not many local business providers, that's a shame. The eateries are big chains like Gregs and Costa. Tesco is the main superstore. Three carparks and petrol station.

The well-kept and clean course is complemented by free parking and other facilities, making it a fantastic option for a family outing. Additionally, the Knight Quest mini-golf course provides an enjoyable experience, although peak times may be crowded with families.
Good enough to practice your pitching and putting… nice place for a bit of fun with the crazy golf and a driving range too :)

Me and my mate (both 12 years old) came to this golf centre on our own anticipating a fun morning of golf. However we were met with refused entry as apparently u13 have to be accompanied by an adult. Both our sets of parents were working and this disrupted their time and work. Both me and my mate ( and a few others) have come before on our own. And this is the first time we have been refused entry by a colleague. Clearly this rule is unclear and is not used by some colleagues. Either let everyone in or none at all. Not some people and not some others. Confusing.
Thomas D — Google review
rules were very complicated to follow, apparently you must be 13 years or older to play golf without an adult , which were rules i had never realised before as they have let me and my friends (both of us are 12) in before and even me and my sister who is 9. now we have had our plans completely disrupted. they need to either change this rule or let no one in at all. shocking!
Teddy C — Google review
We did (or rather my husband did) play the par 3 9 hole golf course. It was great value at £5 and looked like a good course for beginners. Well kept and clean with bins around it. We then went to do Knight Quest mini golf but then it was peak time for families. It looked fun but two adults against 50 children seemed a bit of a drag!
Olivia B — Google review
Very good value for money for a family of four (£18) on an 18 hole golf course. Not the most intricate of courses and some of the holes seemed a little unfair as the ground was bumpy which makes it very hard to judge based on skill. That said, we had a great afternoon.

Great place for the kids to run around. Not sure why it says for over 3's, my daughter is 17 months and she loved it. Plenty of seating around the edge for parents and its in a lovely part shaded spot. There isn't a lot of parking so I guess in the holidays it will be really busy, but definitely will go again on a sunny day. Take a picnic and enjoy an afternoon here.

A joyful end-of-year celebration at Chineham Splash Park! We visited Chineham Splash Park today to mark the end of the academic year, and it was the perfect setting for children to have fun and unwind. Recently I have found myself having to clear up broken glass from the playground. If the youths who hang around this park could refrain from taking out their frustrations on public property then this would be a better review. The park grounds are used for the locals to walk their dogs and football games are often played on the field. The playground is great for pre-teens kids, quite a selection and a climbing frame. It's in a safety barriered enclosure. You'll still need to keep an eye on your kids as they might want to try their hand at climbing the trees.

Tarmac paths join a housing estate to an industrial estate and Tesco superstore alongside a busy A road. This isn't the place if you're looking for a green haven amidst an urban environment and to describe it as a park is pushing it. It feels like the only bit of woodland the developers of the estate weren't allowed to build on so they've instead tried to incorporate it into a selling point for the homeowners. Nice metal sculptures but sadly graffiti-d and would be appreciated in a different setting.

I used to love this library so much, as someone with autism I would use it as a place to just chill but as of recent years it has come to be so incredibly loud and overstimulating. Great for children and families, terrible for those trying to read or study, the "quiet" study area is as noisy as a soft play. Completely open plan libraries don't work, there needs to be a properly sectioned off area with a door to enable quiet study so the centre can be welcoming to everyone. Glad the kids are having a nice time though and there are lots of activities for families. The staff were also helpful.

Good place to walk the dog. I just wish all dog walkers would pick up and stick in bins, rather than leaving it on the paths or picking up and flinging it in a tree. It can get muddy when wet so bring proper boots/shoes, and it does dry out quickly when windy or sunny. Spot the rabbits, deer, and a few different orchids when the season is right. Only reason it does not have 5 stars is the dog poo.

Skatepark
Chineham Skatepark is a fantastic destination for skateboarding enthusiasts of all skill levels, from beginners to intermediates. This expansive park features an impressive array of mini ramps, pipes, flat banks, jump boxes, and ledges that cater to various skating styles. Nestled within a spacious field surrounded by lush forested areas, it offers a serene backdrop for skaters.
Very clean, well maintained, variety of ramps. My 4yr old loves it here!
Charlotte M — Google review
Absolutely terribly, its linned with finrglass sheets that have now lost their topcoat, so its sharts of raw fibreglass with thiae ridiculous metal lower lips. Unskatable.
Mercedes M — Google review
I like it there. It's a great design and big enough variety for beginners and experienced skaters. I wish some of the damaged parts could be repaired. I'm not talking about damage done on purpose, there's just lots of wear and tear that could do with being repaired. Same thing can be said about Old Basings small park. It's dangerous now because of failing fixtures. Could do with adding somewhere to park, oh and flood lights.
Shaun R — Google review
ramps in desperate need of fixing, just wear and tear, screws missing and panels lifting. i wouldn’t come here unless you are on a bike
Edward — Google review
Needs a refurb - lots of the ramps are not really safe unless you're on a bike. Would be great with some attention and care
David F — Google review
Great little skate park, just wear thick clothes, and you won't get fibreglass in your legs.
Jess T — Google review
nice skate park but the half pipe's floor is broken and my son cut his hand on it
Sarah B — Google review
Good park for scooters and bmx but ramps are unsuitable for skateboards

Basingstoke Aquadrome is a delightful family-friendly waterpark that promises a fun-filled day for visitors of all ages. With an array of attractions such as thrilling slides, wave pools, and a relaxing lazy river, it caters to both adventure seekers and those looking to unwind. While some guests have noted the facility's age and occasional maintenance issues, many still find joy in its offerings. On warm days, families can enjoy comfortable water temperatures suitable for young children.
Aquadrome has recently upgraded their facility, and it's better than ever! The showers are fully operational again, which is a big plus. It's an excellent place for beginners to learn swimming—very welcoming and well-equipped. The lagoon area is perfect for a fun and relaxing time. Highly recommended for both practice and leisure!

We went today for the lagoon and flumes. Absolutely fantastic pool, we couldn’t get in the blue slide due to no one letting the floats go but we went on the yellow a couple times which was a lot of fun (my 6 and 3yo loved them!). The baby pool was lovely and warm, almost bath temperature, the main pool a bit cooler but still warm. Green slide isn’t for smaller kids who aren’t strong swimmers as there’s a big drop, my big kid husband loved it! Changing rooms were difficult to find family ones but very spacious once we did get one. Lockers also very spacious, option of smaller or larger. We fit 3 backpacks and 4 pairs of shoes in the larger one. Overall very fun day and we’ll definitely be back!

I went with a friend to the baby and toddler group. I found the pool quite exciting knowing the floor can change depths! My daughter had a great time too! Had a lovely little splash about, then they brought out some toys for the kids to play with. It was very chilled and quite delightful. My daughter would love to go again.

Amazing place to go for family fun! Three pools to chose from for different ages, as well as slides for the more daring. The water is really warm making it ideal for little ones. Recommend arriving with time to spare to get changed before. Some queuing for showers on the way out, and although they do have plenty of changing rooms, if you have little ones you might find yourself waiting if you're after one with a changing station.

Decent gym, has all the basics and lovely staff but be prepared to clean up after grown adults because half of the gym goers don't know how to re rack their weights. This is only the adults - mostly men - all of the younger teens etc that come in always clean up after themselves! Quite rare to actually see the staff walking around the gym unless they're with a PT client, however recently a young girl fainted and the staff responded very quickly. Equipment is a bit tired and some machines need upgrading massively (mainly the abduction machine that only goes up to 63kg, most standard ones go 120+kg). Equipment like yoga blocks goes missing and some of the resistance bands available are almost tearing apart , same with the barbell pads so don't rely on those and bring your own if you can. Women's changing room has a perpetually bad smell not sure what it is, possibly something to do with the plumbing. Steam room and sauna etc are decent but the hot tub is often full of loud teenage boys so you don't really get a chance to use it. Competition lane swim pool is good and a good temperature, but often gets very busy and you'll be in a lane with 4 others. The pool floor (under the water) could also do with a clean as it's very grubby. Showers have recently been replaced and now you won't get scalded as you can control the temperature , before it was awful so thankfully it's better now. And before there was a lot of black mould in the grouting in the showers but this has since been fixed.

Unhygienic and absolutely disgusting facilities. Took my daughter swimming for an hour and when I arrived there was damp rubbish all on the floor from Changing rooms, when entering the pool it was really cold and I was not informed that the heating system was broken after braving it and think we’ll try push through we ventured around the rapids where there was a team of people cleaning however at the end of going around I asked a member of staff what they were cleaning he replied someone had had a toilet accident and they were cleaning that area. I was a bit horrified as to why they didn’t close this during their clean as there was myself and my children swimming around in this, as many others were too and all unaware of what we were swimming in. When I complained to the receptionist he completely disregarded the hygiene issues and my concerns and told me not to come back if I didn’t like this. Absolutely disgusted with it not worth the money unless you want to be ill, awful customer service and care. Would not recommend this place at all.

Please employ cleaners!!! It's a great fun, river and slides brilliant and great family day out but place needs a good clean. Toilets absolutely disgusting and overall dirty place.
KrycholeX M — Google review
Omg when are they going to start cleaning the toilets in this place. You walk into the ladies toilets and the smell of urine hits you in the face. Hair and wet toilet paper all.over the floor plus puddles of water as floor isn't level. Also the 2 female life guides that were working on Thursday the 21st August at 3pm on the lazy river where more concerned with having conversations with each other then notice me waving at them to get there attention. The male lifeguard on the bridge was very good lad watching out for anyone struggling. I must say that the spray guns are to powerful they actually hurt you. The sooner the place gets knocked down the better.
