We were dining at a local Italian Restaurant but were let down by their unfriendly rude welcome so we walked to The Olive House nearby and despite not having a reservation had a very friendly welcome. I was a little upset when we were sat down as today is our wedding anniversary and it had started off being spoilt by the other restaurant but the warmth and friendliness of The Olive House person who welcomed us was so lovely, we had the most delicious meal and were given a very special plate of Baklava with heart shapes and two lit candles making for a lovely anniversary lunch, we also had photos taken to remember our special time there. Thank you for saving our anniversary lunch, we will have lovely memories now thanks to you.

Lovely restaurant. First time visiting and sure won't be the last. The service was quick and friendly. The space is so cozy, and the decoration is so beautiful. The food was delicious, the lamb guvec and the mousaka were really good, as were the starters. Really nice restaurant for a special occasion.

Coming back from Stonehenge we found this gorgeous authentic Turkish cuisine. The staff was friendly. The music was playing. The wine was delicious and the food was outstanding. We had the best host and he was super friendly and kind. Definitely a five star plus service so believe the ratings. Domenica, Gianfranco amazing.

Wow! What a lovely restaurant. The food, atmosphere and service were all superb. I had the mixed grill and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our group of 14 ate early before going to the theatre. Larger groups often receive slow service but, I'm happy to say, this was not the case. It was good to see a busy restaurant which is proof of how popular it is. I'll be back!

Family meal on a Friday night. Lovely to see somewhere busy, great atmosphere. We couldn't have been made more welcome. Service was warm, friendly and attentive but not over the top. All the food was excellent, fresh and delicious. Parking nearby in Joyce's Yard.

Chose to go here because I couldn't face another bland chain restaurant while away with work. So glad I did. Had fresh hummus and fresh bread to start followed by lamb meatballs in fantastic sauce. Best meal I have had in years of going all over the country. Great service, great atmosphere. Will be my go to when in the town again!!

A celebration in my flavour hole! Tried here for the first time today and we are so impressed. Amazing food, wonderful staff and awesome vibes. Such a chill space. Super clean and inviting. Highly recommend you try any of their food selection, which had a decent variety and vegetarian options! We will be eating here whenever we next go into town!

Popped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Ordered a bbq chicken burrito, which was full of flavour. I toyed with the idea of getting chips, but the burrito itself was more than sufficient. There is a small kid's area downstairs to keep your toddlers entertained whilst you scoff down your food and the downstairs toilet has a baby change. Main toilets are up a spiral staircase, which also houses additional seating. We shall be returning!

UNBELIEVABLE FLAVOUR!!!! I just had the Korean chicken served with steamed rice absolutely amazing food and the service brightened my day. The coffee was also fantastic roasted only seven days ago. If you’re in the area and fancy amazing home-cooked flavourful food, get yourself to festival Street kitchen! They have a rotating menu around 40 dishes I think from all around the world really looking forward to trying whatever they make next!

Wanted to come here when it opened inside and I am glad we did, we had ordered a quesadilla and nachos, it was so good and the size was more then enough. The price for the food was really good for the quality and quantity of food you get, also they had a small play kitchen where my daughter was able to pretend to cook up food, yes it's a small area at the moment but was told they are hoping to make a bigger play area. The staff where friendly and explained all the different options and also seemed very passionate about the place and upcoming development of the place and also future events they want to plan and get into place.would differently recommended to anybody and everyone.

Me and the Mrs went there this evening sounded really good but I’ve got to be honest and I do not say this lightly, that has to be one of the worst meals out I’ve had in a long time. Burger was burnt and very dry really only tasted of beef, buns were not fit for the burgers. Meatballs tasted like reconstituted meat with that very specific texture. Mac and cheese was disappointing especially for the price it was almost like they’d cooked macoroni and put it in a jarred sauce. From looking at all of the seasonings behind their counter it looks like they’re just running stuff straight out of bookers. If you’ve got seasonings at least use them. I spent pretty much £50 for two of us and the only reason I didn’t complain was because the servers were genuinely quite nice.

Had a meal with couple mates here. Place has solid options for meals (could get a bit greasy, depending on what you have) and drinks and fairly chilled staff. Menu is on the wall before counters, so unless you know what you want and don't have a memory of a goldfish, you will be OK. Otherwise quite weird placement and threw us a bit off at first. Staff is helpful though, so not much of an issue. Place can get quite crowded and loud, however they do have upstairs seating which was empty at a time. Reasonable prices for portions (had a properly loaded and heavy burito).

Absolutely disgusting. Avoid at all costs. Had the beef brisket burger — it was dry beyond belief, slapped into a soggy bun and cost £15 with no chips or sides. Easily the worst burger I’ve ever had. The mac and cheese? Completely tasteless and overpriced. The burrito? Also awful. We ended up sending all the food back, and they still refused a refund. Shocking. This place has gone seriously downhill — it’s overpriced, poor quality, and the staff clearly don’t care. Do not waste your time or money.

Was recommended by one of my friends to try this place and we had some good Thai food. We had papaya salad, pork fry , chicken massaman with coconut rice. Desserts we had banana fritter with coconut milk. They have a different menu for lunch - smaller quantity. A good satisfying meal and the staff were pleasant and warm.

Love this place. Quality food and service, portion sizes were really good for the appetizers and they mentioned that the chicken and lamb were halal! What a huge surprise!! Absolutely will be coming back here regularly.

First time coming here and I was pleasantly surprised of the standard of food and value for money. Great food with lots of flavour and generous portion sizes. Added bonus of serving nice cocktails. Atmosphere is very nice and being very authentic. Will be definitely coming back. Highly recommend if live or are in the surrounding area of Basingstoke.

The Lime Leaf is a quaint venue with multiple small rooms in a multistorey refasioned town house. The menue is authentic and the food speaks for itself. We had 2 starters , the sweetcorn cakes and the vegetable spring rolls. The sweetcorn cakes are better than other locations that we have tried and the spring rolls were crisp, yet dense insides with cabbage . We both had the yellow curry with potatoes, the balance of flavours was lovely to say the least. There was unfortunately no bread or bread rolls to be had and the roti was not vegan . I would most certainly go back , but there is one draw back to this quaint eatery.. The noise, the climber clatter and din of the other dinners carried so well that we had to wear loops. We are a euro divergent couple, so we are not blaming anyone for this , we are meerly pointing it out should this be an issue for other ND folk

Nestled in a convenient spot, The Spruce Goose Beefeater offers a dining experience that truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive and genuinely friendly throughout the evening. ​To kick things off, we decided on a sharing portion of the nachos, and they were a perfect choice. Often, nachos can be overwhelming or undersized, but these were just right. A generous pile of crisp tortilla chips was loaded with a delicious melted cheese sauce, vibrant salsa, creamy sour cream, and a good amount of chillies and spring onions. Each bite was a satisfying blend of textures and fresh flavours, a fantastic way to begin our meal. ​For the main course, I opted for the Chicken Skewers, a decision I did not regret. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection—succulent and tender with a beautiful char from the grill. It was coated in a subtle yet flavourful marinade that was truly amazing, complementing the natural taste of the chicken without overpowering it. Served with perfectly seasoned fries and a fresh side salad, it was a complete and highly satisfying dish. ​My wife's choice, the smothered Chicken melt, was equally impressive. The presentation alone was enough to get us excited, but the taste truly delivered. A juicy chicken breast was piled high with melted cheese, all brought together with a tangy BBQ sauce. The ingredients worked in harmony, and every forkful was met with a chorus of textures and a rich, smoky flavour. The Zim manager was great fun and the food was amazing! Be careful to not have your eyes bigger than your stomach cus over ordering is easy but sooo good you have to finish up!

Good value meal. We use this as our go to eatery when using the leisure park cinema, bowling, etc. Plenty of choice and offers with the reward scheme. Best part is the server, Tequila has waited our table a few times, always remembers us with a warm, friendly welcome. Gutted to hear she is moving on, a real asset to the place. You'll be missed, all the best for your future.

Great food and service. The staff didn't come over every 5 minutes asking if the food was ok. This really pleased us as there's nothing worse than being pestered while enjoying a meal out.

We hadn’t been to the Spruce Goose in years. We went back in May and then this evening. Both times we had amazing service, very attentive and a spot on length of time between courses. The food was great and any changes we needed were not a problem. We just left feeling very happy and very full!

Amazing choice of hot and cold breakfast, would highly recommend going before 10am unless you have booked for after as it gets super busy but I can see why as it's yummy food and amazing service. Oh and kids eat free!!!

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time! Every dish was packed with depth of flavour and clearly made with care. The service was excellent, making the whole experience even better. Our server was brand new on her first day, and although she seemed a little nervous at times, she handled everything so well. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Indian cuisine.

It was dinner meet with our office team thought to book this restaurant and they were simply great both food and Service. Special mention about the traditional rich Indian décor which dwells you back to the essence of Indian mood.. We shall visit them very soon.

Excellent food! I was keen to try this restaurant after a recommendation while visiting. The experience is very different to others in the town, which is also reflected in the food. It's super popular and was booked out when I visited to get takeaway. The emphasis on spirits are a unique touch for Basingstoke, which was nice to see. The fitout is modern, clean and colourful. It's clearly popular and based on my food and the service, it's easy to see why. I look forward to returning on my next visit. 🍛🇮🇳🍸🍹

Lovely selection of authentic Indian cuisine. Loved the upstairs seating area overlooking the local area, as well as the projection light outside 🤩 Prices were higher than average among local curry houses, but worth the extra, I’d go again 👍

Whenever we find ourselves in Basingstoke, there's one place we never miss which is Spices and spirits. Excellent 😊 all the right reasons this is a place to go. Each dish is bursting flavours... We ordered a biriyani and wow what a taste as every bite was true delight for the senses. We've tried many Indian restaurants in our travels, but none compare to the culinary excellence and hospitality we've experienced at Spices and Spirits. If you're in Basingstoke and craving authentic Indian Cuisine, do yourself a favour and pay a visit to Spices and Spirits. Will be back soon..

Absolutely fabulous! We knew we struck gold as soon as we got our starter "5 pepper jackfruit" which had the best sauce. Garlicky, gingery, spicy and a bit of sweetness. The mains were superb too, well sized portions and presentation. Service was quick and polite and music was a good volume.

A Culinary Delight- A memorable Experience! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Spices and spirits Basingstoke and it was an exquisite experience that left us all absolutely delighted. The moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat.. The ambiance at the restaurant is lively. Soft lighting and well thought-out decor which enlightened the perfect mood for our evening. Every dish we ordered was a work of art, both visually and tastefully. Service at Spices and Spirits was brilliant. Can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal.

Food was great, but one woman who had short dark brown curly hair and a tattoo on her left arm I think, she seemed very pissed off. When she brought us our meal I asked if I could have another drink, and she said yes but did not seem pleased about it. And at the end of our meal when we were about to pay I requested the service charge removed, and she seemed very annoyed and sighed. Great food but maybe keep your feelings to yourself when they were very simple asks and I was very polite about it.

Have been before for breakfast (good) and a Christmas meal (somewhat slow and nothing exciting). Today we came for lunch which was also very good, service was fairly quick as it wasn't to busy. There were some good options and there is veggie and vegan options available. My fishfinger burger (it had a fancier name on the menu) was very good and husband also enjoyed his burger.

If I could have rated 4.5 stars I would, as we had a great dining experience. The good: welcoming and attentive. We ordered Earl Grey tea and forgot to ask for lemon but it was offered in any case. The food was hot, plentiful and delicious. All servers were helpful and friendly throughout our visit and without exception. The half star niggles: after ordering our drinks there was a bit of a wait and as they were table water and two teas that was odd. And unfortunately, one of my pet hates - my toasted English muffin was burnt on the top half. In the words of the immortal Alice Cooper, it’s the little things that drive you wild. However, with a reasonable head on we had a really good time and all of the rest of the food was fresh and delicious. We heartily recommend.

I had an exceptional Sunday brunch that turned a rainy day into something special! The food was top-notch, and as a gluten-free diner, I loved being able to enjoy my meal like everyone else. The team's service was wonderful from start to finish, making our family treat feel extra special. Can't wait to come back for another visit!

Second time I've been to Cosy club, but have to say the atmosphere is lovley and the bartender Felipe is fantastic! He has attention to detail, passion,brilliant customer service skills and makes some amazing cocktails. I would highly recommend! I have not tried the food so am unable to comment.

My first visit to the Cosy Club. I had the Sea Bass. The staff were lovely, the food was gorgeous. It was well presented and an explosion of flavours. Not a bad price either. I will definitely be visiting again in the future, and recommending the place to others.

Yes, been here with my wife and my little boy! Once we arrived at the reception we have been welcoming with smile! Was really busy evening with lots of customers! We been invited to our table and handed over the menus including the Christmas which unfortunately you can't have it if not everyone goes for it, but a la carte was good enough! Quickly we received the high chair and the lovely lady from Poland come over with water and introducing her self. I've seen few managers been running around the place which made you feel looked after! Overall, food and service was really good! Yes, definitely come back for my Cruzcampo! ❤️

A casual restaurant for friends and family. We ordered: gizzado, mix grill suya, garlic bread, beans and plantain. All dishes were delicious, the gizzard was a bit sweeter than I thought but not in a bad way. The chicken suya tasted nicer than the beef - for the salad I think it would be nicer if the lettuce wasn’t chopped so the meat could be wrapped with the lettuce. Garlic bread was slightly disgusting as it didn’t have a strong garlic profile, it felt more like toast with butter only. Drinks- guava, strawberry and mango smoothie was fresh. The milo smoothies was a bit too sweet and heavy for my taste. The restaurants decor is very nice and feels lively. Ama, Kiara and Zara were the staff we interacted with and everyone was friendly. Kiara was our server and the one we interacted with the most, she was very friendly and made the dining experience more pleasant. The menu on the website and in the one in the restaurant is a bit different, I think both menus need to be updated to the most recent one. Would come back again and try other dishes.

An absolute must for any vegan in the area. So happy we found this place, and when we are anywhere within a reasonable radius, we will return to sample more from their (well labelled) menu. Sadly we arrived a little late in the day after struggling to find it, but the staff were so kind and accommodating and nothing seemed too much trouble. We ordered quickly, which was an easy task as the vegan options were very clearly displayed on the menu and our food was served beautifully presented, hot and fresh and in a timely manner. We opted to share a main of fried rice with mushroom stew and a sharer of loaded vegan plantain, both of which were absolutely delicious. Conscious of the kitchen closing soon, we ordered desserts half way through our meal, though staff assured us that we needn’t rush. Upon finishing our first course we were promptly served with a perfect vegan chocolate brownie with ice cream and ‘puff puffs’, fried dough balls covered with chocolate and raspberry syrup and crunchy pieces, which we absolutely loved! If we had only had more time I would have gladly sampled more right there and then, which isn’t to say that their portions aren’t good. We were both absolutely stuffed, but sadly we live miles away so who knows when we will come back… but we definitely will! Also, the tropical juice drinks are super tasty, especially the punch.

I have wanted to come here for a long time, and finally, we did today. New favourite place and will definitely be returning again. We ordered at the restaurant the staff were so helpful and friendly. Afrizi is a Nigerian based restaurant that is quite simply under appreciated. The food is traditional, tasty and wholesome. The food gives that 100% home cooking and natural flavours. The portions are not large at all and I would recommend getting a side of plantain, which was amazing by the way. The clientele was minimal when we visited, which is a bonus for those of us hunting a real experience and taste. Great vegan food. The only 2 things I woukd recommend, 1 real plates and cutlery, and 2 don't skimp on the rice, a little more rice would make these dishes. We had the 2 mushroom steams, and they were goooood!! I had rice and beans. For our fellow ND diners, this is a quiet yet amazing spot not to be overlooked.

Food was very nice and very well priced. Staff friendly too. I found it on an off chance. Food tasted much better than I would have expected. Highly recommend, I have been back a second time this week already.

I've never had Nigerian food before, but I happened to walk past at lunchtime and saw it was a popular spot and the aromas were very inviting. I was greeted by Shaela who talked me through the options and what the flavours were. I went with the mutton stew, it had great flavour and has a spice kick too! Look forward to coming back, Ezekiel the owner runs this business really well and makes great food.

We do enjoy African food, and coming across this well-regarded cafe/ restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Our two boys loved the food despite initially saying it was too early to eat, plus they also originally wanted something else nearby! However, we were glad to have given Afrizi a try. We ordered Nigerian jollof rice/mutton stew and rice/ beans/chicken stew ‐ warms the soul on a chilly night, and this was definitely a treat today. Milk/fruit shakes are nicely done. 👌 The one thing is that we felt that the plantain for the fried plantain and plantain chips could have been riper, which would have made it slightly sweeter than it was. Other than that, the overall meal went down very quickly and without any complaints.

When we arrived, we were sat by the door, meaning that anytime someone entered or left we got a blast of freezing cold air from outside. That really wasn't pleasant. The internal front door doesn't shut properly either, so this was something that proved a bit of an issue. The food was very tasty with a good selection of dishes. However, there is no mention on the menu of which dishes contain things such as gluten, instead saying to ask your server. Unfortunately, the servers didn't seem to understand the questions being asked of them, so we had to wing-it. The prices are good for the food, but I would only really go for takeaway, and then only once allergens are noted against the dishes on the menu.

Poppadoms were stale. Had to send them back. Asked for fresh ones. They brought more to the table 5 seconds later.. low and behold.... Stale... Sent those back.. ordered a glass of coke which stated £2:50 on menu.. bill came and they charged me £4:50.. saying I had a large, which they don't have on the menu.. it just reads 'glass of coke'... Also it was cheap flat coke.. service is terrible and very rushed.. don't give you a chance to relax.. bringing peoples main courses out when they haven't even finished their starters.. oh also the naan bread was not freshly made, had definitely been sat around a while..

It was second visit to the Spice Restaurant and once again I was not disappointed. The food and the service was superb. I had the lamb tikka and pilau rice, while my mother tried the spiced special curry, and my spouse had the lamb Malaya. The spiced special curry was a mixture of meats (chicken, lamb, kebab). I was able to sample both of their dishes, and they mine, we all agree that all of the dishes were delicious. For drinks, we choose the cobra beer which complemented the food perfectly. The server was good. I'm sorry I was unable to get his name but he treated us well both times. I was a bit troublesome with my spice request but he was able to satisfy my request of Hot! Hot! hot!. The restaurant is cosy, the seats are a bit too close to each other but beyond that my experience at this restaurant has been remarkable. I will definitely recommend.

We had booked a table for 18:30 and had an email and Text confirmation. When we arrived the staff didn’t have a record of our order (they had a scrap of paper with some names written on It) They weren’t prepared to look at my reservation and said we’d have to come back later. Absolutely abysmal service and attitude. We left, will never go back and encourage as many people that I know not to use the place as well.

Am going to go against the grain on this one. I love a good Tandoori mixed grill. Sadly, it didn't happen here. Nothing wrong with the service, except my meal was on the table before I'd got halfway through a popadom! Way too quick to have been freshly cooked. Everything on the plate was bone dry. I had been here before and it was quite decent. Not this time! Wont be going back again, and certainly wouldn't recommend it. As someone else had previously wrote, there's plenty of Indian restaurants in Basingstoke. If this one gets genuinely good reviews, then the others must surely be truly amazing!

Booked online for a table at 13:45 with my elderly friend who had never experienced Indian food before and was very excited. Restaurant let me book a table online at 13:45 and had confirmation on my phone. I got there and showed my confirmation and they told me the restaurant was closed, and asked me if I meant to book at 19:00 instead?? Why would I book for 19:00 and turn up at 13:45? No real apology was offered and we had to leave. My friend was disappointed and we will definitely not return.

The outside of this place is not the most enticing but once you are through the door it's colour and vibrancy and a warm welcome! We had a really good meal here, staff really welcoming and accommodating our last minute booking amendments! Great range of dishes, a really sound biryani, delicious breads, everything we tried tasted great. Nicely busy even early evening so a good buzz. We will be back!

Awful. Utterly utterly disappointed. Everything tasted the same despite choosing our own spice levels. Dry and very tough lamb for starter. Watery bland curries for our mains. Momo was ok. Rice tasted of nothing. Slices of red onion for an onion salad ? Psycadelic mint sauce that had not even a hint of mint whatsoever. Far from full containers. Would never buy from here again. Over £150 and most of it went in the bin

We had a fantastic dinner! A friend recommended this restaurant after we mentioned how tricky it can be to find great Indian food in the South - we are so glad they did! The service was excellent, the menu had plenty to choose from, and the dishes were bursting with flavour. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend you give it a try!

Visited Las Iguana in January of this year for a daytime birthday meal with the family, 3 kids and 5 adults - have always frequented Las Iguana’s as it’s a personal favourite spot of ours, especially the Westfield centre one. Anyway, from start to finish, it was absolutely terrible! The service was dead slow in what was an overcrowding restaurant and to make matters worse there was only 3 people on the kitchen….3…!!! The food took forever to arrive and when you’ve got 3 children who were visibly and audibly hungry and bored, it made matters worse - only when the food arrived, the matters become even more worse! Some of the dishes were served cold bevause they’d sat on top of the counter for ages and others were burnt! - kids burgers, burnt! It wouldn’t have mattered so much but because we’d waited for what seemed a lifetime and hunger was getting the better of everyone, it just ruined the whole experience. We’d spent in total I think over +2.2hours. I’ve never tasted such bland and poorly cooked in a Las Iguanas before, ever! Sadly, this was the second time we’d experienced this at the same branch - if this isn’t resolved quickly, we’ll probably be looking at another closed and empty store!

Since the menu has been updated the food has become even better! The staff are really attentive and helpful! Sometimes there is a long wait but if you’re in a larger group or in peak hours this is to be expected! Definitely recommend the taste of Mexico!

Delicious food and good service. The table and menus were all a bit sticky, and we were seated in a rather cramped (crowded) part of the restaurant, despite there being plenty of tables free on the other side of the restaurant. Other than that, the overall visit was good!

First meal out in ages Decided to try the food here. The staff were really friendly. The menu had something for all 5 members of our group. I had the curry and others had a rib eye steak and loaded chicken. Everything was really tasty. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

I went for dinner with my son this Sunday evening 19/10/2025 and was disgusted with the attitude of the obnoxious bearded young man that served us. When we were first seated there were approximately 8-10 people in the restaurant including us so it was not busy. We were seated on a table that was under a glaring light and right next to the service counter. We waited between 10-15 minutes before we were offered a drink and I asked if we could move to a booth as there were 3 available. I was told by the aforementioned person that they were reserved for bookings and he would find out if it was possible. While we were waiting for our food two of these tables were filled with walk ins and not bookings while one more sat empty. When we had finished eating we were asked ‘do you want the bill?’ We were not asked if we would like anything else. When he came to the table for payment I said to him ‘we could have sat there couldn’t we’ to which he replied ‘oh yeah, I forgot to ask’. I would also like to add the tiny accompaniments you get with fajitas, 4 wraps but only enough sour cream etc for one wrap. All in all a truly dreadful experience which was a shame as I have been to the Reading restaurant a number of times and found the food a lot more acceptable and the staff very friendly. He should not be in the service industry if he feels it is beneath him to offer a service to paying guests. I pay your wages.

We just had our wedding at Barton’s mill and it was incredible. The staff were amazing and helpful and friendly, the food was delicious and they set up the tables with the decor we provided beautifully. Flo our co ordinator was so lovely and took away our stresses and Chanelle who looked after us in the morning kept us updated and on time with the order of the day. Absolutely worth every penny and a gorgeous venue to hold a wedding.

I stayed for 3 nights. It was perfect. The food was great. The room was very quiet at night. I slept deeply in the king size bed. The rooms are very spacious. The bathroom had a bath and shower, and they were so clean I am almost certain I was the first person to use them. Everyday room service remade the room. The staff made sure I was looked after well. I went alone and enjoyed a lot of walks. I cant wait to go back. It's a gem.

Great food. Surprising to find a gluten free Sunday roast with a gluten free Yorkshire pudding. Great choice of gluten free options. Dog friendly. Been here a few times, never disappoints. Always busy and good for a dog walk locally beforehand.

Myself and my brother visit from Hertfordshire once a year to take our Auntie for lunch. She was 88 this year and is local. We love coming to Bartons Mill and will hopefully come again next year. The building is amazing and the staff were lovely. The only reason for 4 stars is we didn't enjoy the menu quite as much this time. I'm sure I had a pigeon starter last year, this year there wasn't any lunchtime starters at all. If you haven't been, give it a try.

Been to this pub a few times as it’s half way between my friends and I - and it’s a great place for both a cosy evening meal or a sunny day lunch and walk by the canals. The pub itself is beautiful- the old working water mill inside is a great touch! The food is very good, traditional pub grub - think fish and chips, dishes with thick gravy, and yummy olives/ breads for a snack!

I can't rate the rooms as I only came here for dinner with a friend, but the food was magnificent, we tried the burger and the chicken fillets both were good sized meals, not stodgy just the right quantity woth very high quality. Sticky toffee pudding and ice cream desserts were also delicious. Lovely quiet rural location but not too far off the main roads. Friendly service, great atmosphere, fabulous setting. Love the fact water still flows through the mill behind a viewing pane.

My partner and I recently got married at Barton’s Mill, and we couldn’t be happier with our Wedding. The day itself was excellent the Venue was well prepared everything ran on time and the staff were flexible & friendly. We found the Wedding pricing to be very reasonable and competitive for the area. The hotel rooms were tidy, clean, although we do feel the booking process for some of our wedding guests could have been a little smoother. But overall we were very pleased.

Party of 10 from 3 to 83 and service, food and play facilities for the little ones was fantastic !! The olds could chat knowing the little ones were safe in the play area as large windows overlooking !! Carvery was the best I’ve had in a long time and portions of meat were very generous !!! Staff were polite,friendly and above all attentive !!! The redheaded waitress did not stop smiling and so friendly as was carvery chef !!!

We had a lovely brunch here this morning, such a great local spot! The atmosphere was amazing, warm, and welcoming. Service was fast and friendly, and a special shout-out to Vicky, who was so lovely and made the whole experience even better. Perfect place for a relaxed weekday brunch. we’ll definitely be back!

We visit the Holly Blue a few times a year with several people who have allergies (dairy and nuts). We have always enjoyed ourselves and the food. However, recently policy has been changed. When we visited on Monday (April 21st 2025) one of our family members had an allergy and some sensitivities. When ordering the allergies were made very clear with help of a tablet indicating the allergies per meal. They decided what they wanted to eat (a hamburger) and when wanting to order the meal a little altered (without sauce & onions) the staff notified us of the change in policy. This change meant when someone has an allergy nó changes can be made to the meal. We were very dissapointed in this. The member of staff seemed to be new so we decided to check with a more senior member of staff, she explained that this change has been made company wide & they sadly weren't allowed to make exceptions. They had been having a lot of issues with customers due to this change. She went to speak to the kitchen to see what other options were available. Sadly due to the allergy & sensitivities the meal our family member ended up with was fries and a plain hamburger patty (as these could be ordered as an add on). If you don't have allergies or issues with certain foods I would definitely still recommend eating here, but otherwise you're better off finding a different pub or restaurant to eat at. This review in no way reflects to the staff of the Holly Blue. They were amazing and working with horrible policy set up by head office who clearly do not have allergies.

This is a curious pub – I had noticed it previously and had assumed it was one of the big nationwide chains, as it has that look. A modern building on the edge of a boxy new-build estate. I was expecting a Marstons or something like that. It is part of a chain, but a smaller one, focussed in the south, so something a bit different. Popped in on a Saturday for lunch and the place is actually rather charming – clearly mainly a food pub, there is a ‘restaurant’ area, an area for more casual dining and a large outdoor space. The weather was good so the garden was in full swing – much cider was in evidence. Naturally, I sat inside – at a tall table no less. Interesting choice of food, with pizza and pies both in evidence. Opted for the steak and ale pie, which came with mash, red cabbage and a throaty little jug of gravy. This was a god pie – tasty and fresh and a good size, not too big. A bit too much cabbage really (or it could have been creamed, for creamed cabbage is glorious) but the gravy was rich and welcome. I like pie – I have had pies both good and bad – this pie was definitely a good one. Try the pie. The pizzas also looked very good – I assume there is a pizza oven on site. They had a good load of toppings. Toppings for the people. Good choice of lagers – had something called Roca Tierra Cerveza. A good beer. A good atmosphere overall but the pub did seem to attract some odd customers who seemed to have never been outside before, let alone into a pub – a group of men who felt the best place to drink their pints was to stand blocking the entrance (what could go wrong), a family who quailed in fear at the suggestion they sit in the restaurant rather than the bar area, a group of elderly patrons who kicked off because their table had a bench and not chairs. Very strange, must have been the weather… 😃 Overall I’d come here again – the food was very goodre and there were good options. Worth your time.

An enjoyable experience to be had by all who visit 🍻 Nice selection of drinks and nibbles. I would reccomend the House Helles Lager. Plenty of space for children and food that was coming out of the kitchen looked pretty good 😋

The restaurant is such a cozy feel, with authentic designs and spectacular food, which aligns with everyone’s taste buds. It genuinely feels like you are at a restaurant in India, such a warm feeling. Our server Priyanka was lovely and helpful during our dine in. The experience overall was lovely and we left the restaurant VERY full And happy!!!

Booked a table for a multi-generational birthday supper. Fantastic service from all the gentlemen present and the food was wonderful - thank you for my daughter's birthday treat! I used to patronise the "Curry Club" on the Strand for their fine dosa but they are long gone. So glad to have a Hampshire based restaurant serving Indian delicacies, not the usual curry house fare. Recommended without hesitation!

Tried Mango Lassi, Dosa, Chicken 65, and Masala Chai — and every bite felt like home. The lassi brought back childhood memories, the dosa was crispy and comforting, Chicken 65 had the perfect spice, and the chai? Just soul-soothing. The vibe was peaceful with soft music, and Anup’s service made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors and genuine hospitality.

Had a fantastic time at this pub! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food and drinks were excellent. A special shoutout to Emily B, who was absolutely outstanding — friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. She really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Great service like that makes all the difference! We’ll definitely be coming back soon.

Popped in for a lunch bite, pub was quite as it was 3 in the afternoon but was very clean staff were lovely and very helpful. Ordered a steak sandwich which was very well presented and couldn't fault anything about my visit. Would recommend for food if you was passing buy.

Connor was excellent at explaining the menu first making sure no allergies then told us about the new menu and what we would like. I explained that I was on Drs’s calorie counting thing and he told me that I could have a child abortion if that was more suited to the calorie count and which was excellent. I congratulate Connor on his ability to socialise and interact with the customer and the food was excellent service

The food was outstanding and the staff were helpful and friendly. The only negatives were that we had to ask several times and wait ages for some table water and we were given serving spoons with our pudding because the dessert spoons needed polishing apparently. We will definitely be going back!

Service was really good. Connor welcomed us and it was lovely to meet someone with such charisma. He made us feel so welcome, and recommended items from the menu. He was super good humoured and it made our time at the pub so much fun. He’s an absolute star!!!! Food was ok, I had high hopes as it sounded great. I had the chicken parmigiana, and was a little disappointed. It was a bit dry, as were the chips.

Have popped in many times for a quick drink without any issues. However we decided to have a meal here today. I ordered a simple macaroni cheese topped with chicken, partner ordered half a chicken in a meal. Partners meal was more than dissapointing, the half a chicken wasn't even close to 1/4. Partner left feeling hungry, questioning what they do with the rest of the chicken🤣 photo of partners meal added before he ate any🙄 I ordered a macaroni topped with diced chicken. My docked chicken was incredibly dry. Macaroni I had n complaints for and was served with a side of salad. However an hour after eating I felt incredibly nauseouscand ended up being sick. :( quite disappoined as weve never had problems when popping in for just a drink. Will be avoiding for food in future

On 04/01/2025 we are at the Basingstoke, Festival Place Nandos. This was delightful. We ordered a medium boneless sharing platter with two large sides; peri chips and garlic bread. Plus drinks and a wing roulette. The speed of the service was impeccable for our meal, especially considering how busy the place was. We actually sat with a table of 8 (all family and partners). We ordered at different times so expected a short wait between meals, this was fine. The chicken was delicious. The breasts were slightly charcoaled which we don’t mind, but others might. They were however juicy, and this is at times difficult to achieve as it is a thicker cut and can often be somewhat dry, but not on this occasion. The thighs were top notch. In all, the only request would be for there to be a bit more sauce when cooking the chicken. Sauce on the side is never the same as marinated and cooked. Enjoyable nonetheless, 9/10. The peri chips, very good. Not enough Peri salt for us, but easily fixed when asked how our meal was and they bought over additional sachets. We are possibly amongst the unique group of people that like the empty, crispy, hollow chips; the ones people often leave on their plates at the end of their meal. Not us. We’ve had days where 40-50% were cooked to this perfection (in our eyes). On this occasion, 10%, lowering our score to 8/10, but not to be misread, still unbeatable across most restaurants. The garlic bread, two of four were unfortunately cooked slightly more than we had hoped, but not the end of the world. 7/10. Drinks, sauces, wing roulette, can’t complain. Fanta chicken is a no from us, but we listen and we do not judge. I’m sure someone out there enjoys it. Overall, 8/10. Succulent, speedy and satisfied.

Had a fantastic experience at Nando’s Basingstoke - Festival Place! Despite being a group of almost 25 people, the staff were impressively efficient, ensuring our orders were taken accurately and our food was served promptly. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere had a great ambiance—perfect for a large gathering. Managing such a big group with such smooth service was truly impressive. Highly recommend for both small and large groups alike!

Nando's is alway a go to when wanting food with lots of flavour. If you don't mind sharing, the platters are definitively are good options: Full platter ideal for 2 people and Family Platter can feed 5 people easily. The new Caesar Salad is so good and the Warm Chocolate Pud is delicious. If waiting a bit for a table is not your thing then visiting Nando's during the week or early afternoon woul be ideal.

The food was spot on as always, lovely and hot and most importantly doesn't burned! Only down side is the server not being as attentive as it should be due to lack of staff, so a few dishes didn't arrive and we have to ask for it. This is probably due to the pingdemic and they are short on staff.

One of the nicer Nando’s, good food as always and ordering on your phone is quick and easy. The halloumi sticks are awesome. They didn’t have tables inside so we sat outside as it was warm enough, tables inside are way too close together anyway. Only negative was one of the staff members was pretty rude but most were good.

Maybe they will start to charge less the chips for online delivery, the portion is half what you get at restaurant but the same price..., 4.30£ for such a small portion and large 7.50£ wich will be a regular one with if i have luck. Last time i think when order chips online i get more from a regular from Mc Donald wich they are 1.99... From now one i need to order chip separate from mc and chicken from nandos🤦‍♂️ rip off A 200g jar much bigger then their little box for portion for kids

For years, we always love going to Zizzi. Lovely food and a good selection of desserts and friendly service. But the recent changes on the menu disappoints us. Some of my favorite pasta dishes were gone and some were changed. The prawns spidini with harissa pasta was my favorite. Until the pasta was changed into seafood one. But the most disappointing part was the dessert choices. Brownies were removed. And since there’s not a lot of good selections of desserts anymore, i tried the new chocolate moose. Paid £7.95 for one scoop of moose with oil and salt side???? I mean, what? I don’t know how to react and feel when they served me that. I am not in an expensive fancy restaurant to be served with a small scoop of chocolate moose for that price?? Just disappointed, really. Zizzi has always been one of our favorite italian restaurants. But i don't feel like that experience, i don't feel excited of going back again… 😔

A very bad customer service & no enough cutlery like knife etc to support the meal. They said we will close in an hour so stop serving well now, not cooking enough the pizza nearly raw… and no music nothing, because will close in an hour and 15 minutes!!!! It’s still 1 hour and 20 minutes before they close… and that’s is the type of service.., they do not care about clients anyway… no salt, no pepper, no grated cheese like Parmesan.. no olive oil.. all of this is too much to ask and bring them… what we are pay them for £60-70 bill??? What for???

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Zizzi! Everything — from the seating to the quality of the food — was excellent and couldn’t be faulted. The table service provided to me and my wife was superb. Amelia was kind, pleasant, friendly, and incredibly helpful — exactly the sort of service customers love to experience.

Our server Homey was amazing , we had a lovely conversation and she was extremely friendly. Would definitely come back.

We were here at Zizzi’s and this was the only place which had a great menu options of Gluten free dishes. The GF pizza, GF grilled chicken was perfect to our taste and we enjoyed it. Its ambience is great, staff are friendly and helpful. Young crew ready to serve

Had a fantastic evening at The Tea Bar, enjoying live music by Ultralight, bar prices were competitive, and the crowd and staff were fantastic! No hint of trouble, everyone just enjoying a few drinks and the music, great atmosphere!

Decent for a night out. Drinks about expected. Not cheap but not super expensive. They do serve cocktails in a teapot but the alcohol content sinks to the bottom and doesnt blend very well. Good if shared with two people maybe or a self teapot experience but with three people its not worth while as much. Have a few things on tap but more variety needed. Didnt have food. Cant rate that really. What did alarm me a little was people doing the "slut drop" during their drunken night out against the band that were playing, of which had a shirt that screamed that gross protest about the England flags. Etc. Political debates Seemed a little sexual for a night out in a place youd go for a few drinks and a laugh with mates but maybe that's just me. Doesn't help frame it super well in my head as a memory from a night out though. However, will come back at some point for more teapot cocktails. Sounds fun.

Had an impromptu evening out at the Tea Bar x4 of us and greeted by a band playing Soul & Disco covers. Age group in the venue from 20 years upwards all having a great night, lovely atmosphere, good drinks priced and very happy, welcoming, smiley and friendly bar staff.👏 Atmosphere would’ve got 5 ⭐️ if the bands sound/mic balancing and volumes were tweaked 🤔 that said, will deffo be back, sooner rather than later.

Popped in here for a drink with friends. Band playing. They were fab. Lots of people dancing in the area directly in front of the band. Lovely atmosphere…..until some poor guy was glassed in the face/head. Bouncers/doormen/security, whatever they would like to call themselves were useless. The band was calling them over to assist but they just stood there and then got offended when myself and others told them to do their job properly…...and they continued to do nothing. And then when the police went past about 10 minutes after the incident and asked if all was ok in the venue that evening they replied yes! Why would they not advise them what had happened and someone needed medical assistance? Will not be attending here again or recommending to anyone and I will advise others to steer clear which is a shame as previous bands have also been really good. Maybe a presence of better security within the venue would be an idea to deter incidences like the one we witnessed this weekend rather than just having them outside the venue on the door.

Fabulous from start to finish. Always a great atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff. Very welcoming whether popping in on your own or with a few friends. The decor is very cool and a highlight for me is definitely the variety of live music every weekend from acoustic artists or a full band, all tastes are catered for...I've never been disappointed. Would 100% recommend a visit day or night 😊 love this place!

Not just a Tea bar. Had a great coffee with a good slice of cake. Some good choices of IPA beers in the fridge as well. Comfy sofas and great customer service!! Will be back in the evening to check out some of their events.

By far my favourite restaurant for miles - always such a treat to visit here. Staff are all wonderful: so professional and polite whilst also friendly. I’ve never had a bad dish here and everything is always super fresh and delicious. Highly recommend all the dishes pictured, as well as the chilli and garlic edamame (already eaten!). My friends and family also love the spicy salmon crunch rolls and chicken katsu. Recommend booking a table to ensure your slot - you won’t be disappointed 🥢

The shift manager was literally stomping around trying to look busy and authoritative, the young lady behind the bar was generally staring into space while the young man made drinks. But I'm glad you have stated in open forum you find it acceptable to bark orders at customers and make them feel unwelcome. Xxx 1445hrs Saturday. Busy enough; loud group enjoying their afternoon no issues. Ordered drinks at the bar and after ordering summarily dismissed to stand at the end of the bar like I was in the way. Sat on an empty table Another group had complained about the noisy group and I was told that "this table was taken" by the bar staff. Table was neither taken nor reserved; I was simply hoofed off and offered the noisy table because the other group complained about the noise. Avoid - the "hen party" were the primary focus of the bar staff and I was treated like furniture to be moved around as it suited them. No worries - I will not book my parties here xxxx

Every time we come to the Duck and Tipple we have a great time! The quiz night is fantastic and the cocktails are delicious, especially the gin twinkles.

It took a few minutes to find the very small entrance (look out for the board outside), but this upstairs bar is worth finding. Nice atmosphere (Friday night) and a friendly greeting. It seems that people book tables, which we hadn't, so we sat in a bit of an odd place near the door, but most of the seating and tables were nice. We only had drinks which were fine. Not a massive selection of beers but different from the normal run of the mill selection. Definitely somewhere to try, and ideal for a drink before the theatre, cinema or a meal out.

Relatively small bar located on the first floor. I went for coffee on a Saturday afternoon. The light bites menu offers a number of small dishes for lunch. The bar is a trendy style modern place with mostly bench style seating with a few couches in some areas. There is a small table tennis table at the back. The cocktail menu looked good although we didn't try any, bar is aimed at the more upmarket scene with cocktails around £7. A nice step in the right direction for the nightlife in Basingstoke.

Hidden jem. Great atmosphere, cocktails and board games. What more could you ask for? I wish they did more offers on cocktails as it's easy (and expensive) to get carried away trying out all of their drinks! Great place to go.

Great food, excellent cocktails (Bitter Duck, wow!) in nice surroundings. Very quiet on a Saturday lunchtime, we'll be back soon.

Went here for a date night with my partner. Good atmosphere overall. Good selection of drinks and food available. Would have preferred chairs with backs on them, but not a massive issue. Though we did leave before the quiz night started ( seems we picked the one night it happens a month to visit! ) as we were not too inclined to participate, much to the disappointment of the staff!

What a fabulous little find. We were passing by looking for a cafe and someone recommended this lovely little cafe. Not only is this a little gem but all the staff here have been wonderful, welcoming and attentive. We have the pleasure of sitting outside in the sun enjoying the breakfast, at a fantastic price! Literally couldn’t beat the price and proper fried toast. Delicious! And a little playground for the kids to run around when the food is being prepped. Loved the experienced and the cafe project. Really impressed that we could support this fantastic establishment

First time here & I am already asking myself why have I never been sooner? The food & the service was all spot on, ever so friendly lovely people who went out their way to making you feel welcome. I know now that I need to revisit & support our local business in Basingstoke.

I've been here twice in October 2025. It's been 5 stars on both occasions. I absolutely loved the cauliflower pasty and the Biscoff milkshake. My non-vegan friend enjoyed her waffle with fresh blueberries and strawberries. Good value for money and it feels like a real treat. Lovely food and drink and decent portion sizes. The food is well presented too. You can treat yourself here for less than £10. Staff are friendly. I am a vegan and it's great to have a place that is 100% vegan.

Vemillion, this was and blissfully so, my first vegan experience of Basingstoke, and one that needed repeating over my 3 day stay in the town. The food is clean and portions are reasonable. The fresh baked cakes are a must for anyone with a sweet tooth or not. The milkshakes are a nice rounded drink. And the coffees are well prepared. The staff or relaxed, happy and welcoming and make the place what it is. As you enter Vemillion , you notice on the right side an array of shelves adorned by tempting treats and holistic items. Amongst these are sweets , and drinks fridge with some lovely items, but also horseradish and other condiments that are well worth there price. It is of note that the venue is frequented by families with younger children and as a neuro divergent couple, we did get a little low on spoons. That said it was only on the one occasion. Don't miss this venue..and their cake menu.

Absolutely love coming here. As a vegan it's sometimes hard to find a place you can trust to cook and prepare your food. Everything here is VEGAN meaning I don't have a single worry. Great for lunch or afternoon tea and cakes. Fantastic selection available and a lot of the products are made in house! Friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely recommend even if you're not vegan you should give it a try, I can guarantee you will enjoy it.

Ordered the bourbon brownie and the carrot and pistachio cake to take away. They both looked great, and the prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent to begin with, however a different server took over from the previous, and started serving the person behind me, (I think they were staff) before finishing serving me, which I found a little rude, but not a major issue. They were the only other person behind me too, there was no queue. Having tried the cakes, I have to ask: what on earth is that synthetic birthday cake icing on the carrot cake? It's a shame, the sponge itself is moist and sweet enough to not even require it, but I could not finish it due to the amount of icing on top. The bourbon brownie: I have a major sweet tooth, especially for chocolate, so it is not often I do not finish these types of foods, but the brown was essentially a chocolate paste, which was so overly sweet it was overbearing.

Wow first time visiting today and absolutely love this place!!🧸✨ Friendly welcoming staff and it's such a joy to have so much choice of food I was actually overwhelmed because as a vegan in most places you have to hunt for what you can eat on a menu!! What an experience to have full access to the whole menu!! Went for a tofu stack and my husband went for a Buddha bowl and they were both sooo good generous portions but not heavy on your tummy!! I also tried their banana milkshake with cream n marshmallows and that was delicious!! I also treated myself to their soft serve ice cream with strawberry sauce n rainbow sprinkles!!🌈 omggGosh so good😭😭 I recommend this place to everyone not just vegans, atmosphere is so welcoming and chill and the food is brilliant quality and wholesome!! Will definitely be returning for sure!! Thank you!! 💓🎀❤️💖

Chris, the General Manager, went above and beyond to create something that even a fastidious child was delighted with. Despite being rushed off his feet, he provided excellent service and served up amazing pizzas and sides. Couldn’t ask for better. Thank you!

Order #7530268, delivery for 2pm, didn't arrive until 2.20. Pizzas arrived sopping wet, delivery drivers bag had leaked water all over them. Phoned up and they said no delivery until 5pm, but I could collect. I had to pay for parking now to collect my "delivery". The women was the most rude sarcastic customer service representative I've ever dealt with. I asked for my money back for such a shocking and bad experience to which she said no, you can't have pizza and money back. I said okay, refund me the delivery, she replied that she cannot do a refund if delivery but can get me free drink instead, which I didn't want. A delivery driver then arrived and when I asked I thought there's no delivery until 5pm, she sarcastically said there was a glitch with the system. A dreadful employee and a rubbish experience.

Ordered 2 pizzas, a cookie dough, wedges, and halloumi fries. Food was delivered cold, ice cream pot had melted. Opened box and my pizza looked like a slice was missing. Tried to push together but it still seemed the pizza had a missing slice. The store initially said they would re do the whole order then called me back and said the deliveroo driver said the food was fine so they only re did one pizza.

Ordered a large chicken and vegetable sizzler but instead received two vegetable sizzlers, delivered an hour late and poorly cut. I raised a complaint, and they offered me a partial refund, which I accepted, but I still haven’t received it.

So finally got a chance to try new Melts from promotion. Not bad, quite tasty actually. Portion was decent for it's price as well. Garlic bread fairly standard too. Cookie slightly bigger than expected, which was very nice surprise. What also surprised me that while ordering, cookie was meant to come with small ice cream which didn't arrive and thus making desert bit too pricey. Food arrived fast though.

Unfortunately I had a negative experience with a worker from this Pizza Hut who was very rude, patronising, and overbearing over the phone trying to silence me by raising his voice and not letting me speak when all I was doing was trying to get information about the app. This makes me never want to order from Pizza Hut again!

Mcd was one of the best restaurants of our childhood… what happened? Is all for money? No joy, no good product?! How can you let your employees serve us this ! Why !?

Can't comment about the food as after 40 minutes I'm still waiting. I spoke to someone after 20 minutes. Terrible service. Do not use table service, it's useless. The staff can't cope with the demand and it's chaos. I had to queue to complain with other customers. The staff were friendly enough but it's not good enough for a fast food business.

Worse customer service I have ever experienced. The senior manager named 'Alfonso' extremely rude and a disgrace to the company. He should not be representing this company let alone managing and leading people. This guy needs to be investigated for Gross misconduct. He called me a customer an 'idiot' for askimg for his name and suggesting I would give fedback. His reply was 'so you want to complain go ahead I don't care'. How can you have a manager talking and being a represetantive for such a big company behaving this way. Loads of nasty comments said and just unapologetic about a customer disatisfaction to the point he would refuse taking my complaint and insult me. Never coming here again and will do a formal complaint to the company. This is out of order. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone with this level for customer service. Pathetic.

I don’t know what it is with this place but they’re always so slow, currently been parked up yet I’m the only one here. I don’t know how this place copes at all. Always being parked up, wrong/missing items, cold food, burgers always thrown together all over the place and whenever I order a wrap there’s always a massive hole in it?? Is there not any systems in place to help this branch improve? Because it’s been like this for as long as I can remember. All the other stores in Basingstoke are next to perfect but this one just can’t cope. Talk about fast food🙄🙄

Manager named Alex extremely rude shouting at me to leave the restaurant for requesting a manager 4 times and waiting 10 minutes for one to show up. This restaurant has big issues with management. Extremely unprofessional and it reflects on the rest of the staff. I will keep making formal complaints until staff here start treating customer the right way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME HERE. Will also be making a formal complaint.

Very disappointed. I ordered 6 pieces of chicken and would have expected a variety of chicken pieces. Instead I got 5 cold drumsticks and another piece. You don't find this out until you get home. There used to be rumours back in the 80s & 90s that Colonel Sanders had bred genetically modified 6 legged chicken. I think that it may be true!!

2 meals arrive ordeing delivery, this is amount of cold chips we had. Unfortunatly not first time we have issue ordering, something is always forgotten - usually wings or add ons like corn on cob. Disapointing it gets sent out of the store like this, poor standards.

Placed our order online without being told to check in and then arrived to pick it up and with screenshots of proof that money from my bank account has been taken from KFC. alongside a screenshot of order number and additional info. To them be told to speak to the manager as there was no order on their system and check in; however this was not an option. Moreover, the manager rolled her eyes at us continuosly, death strwd us and dismissed our claims insinuating that we were in attempt to fake an order. She told us to check in on the app, which at the time we had the app in front of her but then she herself couldn't do it or provide any relevant information on how to achieve this. After 45 mins at KFC we left with no refund, no food from the original order and then after she overheard me writing this review, offered us free cookies and then said sorry. Coincidence? I don't think so. DO NOT RECOMMEND. £50 FOR A BARGAIN MEAL??? YOU'RE TAKING THE MICK

Ordered via just eat. The delivery time changed numerous times. We waited over 2 hours for the delivery. Called the restaurant a few times and not 1 call was answered. Food arrived and shockingly it was cold, rubbery and yet again with missing items. It someone actually answered the phone we would of had some communication and would of gone and got it! Absolutely shocking customer service. KfC for a family is quite pricey and the customer expects all the items that have been paid for! Its very hard to get a refund so you loose out 3 times on order!!!!!

Waited nearly 30 minutes inside restaurant, 2 members of staff arguing infront of customers. No one seemed to know what they are doing. 9 or 10 people waiting including delivery drivers(deliveroo,just eat). Order disappeared off screen and think they forgot about my order. Fast food...could of cooked it quicker at home. Better off going mcdonalds next door.

Freshly prepared and delicious food! Finger licking good!! Not been to KFC for ages, loved at. Lots of variety and all really good.

So stopped coming here for about a year due to just terrible experiance. Thought il have one as may changed. But no suprise again. Food is half full. Missing sauces. Missing kids meal deserts. Just feeling completely ripped off as so expensive for what you get. Stick with McDonald's from now on.

Ordered a fish cake, medium cod and large chips. While I was waiting for my order I witnessed one staff member swearing at another. I also witnessed the same person get orders wrong resulting in customers checking their orders before they left. When I checked mine, the ‘large chips’ were a scattering of chips on top of the cod. Not even small chip size! I spoke to one of the ladies and asked her to confirm I had large chips. She shock her head and added more to my box. Unfortunately the box didn’t then close so I had to ask for a small bag that I put round them so they didn’t drop out on the way home. I have no problem paying fish and chickens prices as I’ve always had good food, but clearly they need to sort out the staff issues.

I went her recently to try out their menu, I had the Large Cod, small.chips and mushy peas. The Large cod was £11.30, was is a very good size and a thick fillet, with I thought was good value. Standard Chips were £3.69, and they just covered the bottom of the box which I thought was not enough. The mushy Peas were priced at £3.25 far too expensive for a small pot !! Very good service here, the fish ws delicious, but prices for other portions not great.

This is my go-to chip shop. I normally go on a Saturday lunch time and there is a lady who is super nice and remembers me. The cardboard boxes get a bit soggy on the trip home, but they have not collapsed on me yet and its better for the environment. Battered sausage, cod and chips all good.

If I could give lower I would,I was absolutely shocked when I visited this place at lunch time for some chips,I tried opening the door at 12.05 and it was closed yet the girl was there and just stared at me and walked away,they didn’t open the the shop till just before 12.10,I ordered two portions for chips and a curry sauce,took her ages to actually tell me how much it was and walked away to get someone else,no hello when I was just stood there,anyway I actually got the chips wow I was shocked with how it was presented,the shop was filthy still had dirty chips on the floor from last night,music was up so Loud I had to shout my order to her,even when she was serving the chips her hair was all over the food,I couldn’t believe it,the salt shaker was broke and dirty,I actually work it a chip shop myself and if I left my managers shop like this I wouldn’t even have a job to go back to.definitely avoid if I was you! (Btw no we didn’t eat the food as we couldn’t bring ourselves too).

The price for senior portion of fish and chips has gone sky high, I don't mind but the fish is so small and half the chips are dried and hard to chew. I hope this is improved soon. Also they have stopped loyalty cards!!

Miserable disingenuous staff. No smile, no how can I help you , clearly not enjoying her job and obviously in need of some customer service training. My online order was meant to be ready at 6.45 pm. On arrival I said I was due to pick up my order , just a grunt. By 7 pm and others having received their orders I asked if they had received mine to which she replied it’s there…… she shouted it ( meaning her colleague) If she had I didn’t hear her. It’s a long time since I’ve met such rude customer facing staff. The atmosphere was miserable like the staff and I was there early evening…..goodness only knows what they would be like by the end of shift. Fish and chips nice but lukewarm warm. I will think twice before visiting this establishment again purely due to poor staff attitude.

Ordered at the drive thru, when we got home we ate our food. when my partner started eating her big Mac she discovered mold on the bottom of the burger bun

This McDonalds is tucked away next to some old unused retail units, it has a drive thru and you can pop in if you park somewhere else as no parking onsite. Service was good, with person who served us being friendly and cheery.

Menu and items you will know if you use McDonalds. Service is always slow here and at least 60% of the time there is a problem with the order I usually use the app to place my order. There is a drive through which is also very slow. The main positive is the location and ease of access.

Really nice,clean McDonald’s. It wasn’t very busy when I arrived on a Friday 8:30am. Literally received my food in a few minutes and it tasted great. Really tidy outside a well kept restaurant. Reason for 4 star is there is no onsite parking so you have to go to the main retail park and walk up a hill. There is one just up from the McDonalds but i don’t think it’s very safe to walk up there if you have young children or a push chair as there isn’t really a path. (See photos) There is however a drive through.

Drive thru - ordered food and went to first window. Paid by contactless and told payment gone through and to go to next window. Given OJ and coffee and serving window and told to wait on the rest of the order. Opened OJ and had a slurp of the coffee. Then told my payment didn’t go through. Ah ok I probably need to put my pin in the payment terminal. Offered to do payment again but told they don’t have a payment terminal at that window. Window server said he could ‘take’ my card and tap it at the payment terminal at first window. I explained that it would require the pin so that wouldn’t work. Manager came to window and offered the same thing to take my card to the first window. I explained again that the pin will be required. Manager asked me to drive around and start again at first window. So, they wanted me to queue up again to which I refused as I could see a queue of vehicles behind me. I was then asked to leave the site, park up and walk into the site, queue up and then pay. Again I refused to do this on the grounds that I used a drive thru (plus it was raining). These were only options given to me. Manager wanted the open OJ and slurped coffee back. I left the site, parked up, queued up in site and returned the opened OJ and slurped coffee and left. The mistake was made at the first window by McDonalds (not me). As a customer I have been directed impacted by the McDonalds mistake. Trying to take someone’s card to use it for a contactless payment is concerning and not listening to the customer is damning. My suggestion for your retail drive thru sites is to have contingency in place when something goes wrong that impacts a customer.

If you want a quick bite before of after shopping this Cafe should do the work. Please keep in mind is simple and affordable, if its busy then bear in mind that food might take a while, also they close relatively early. Food was good, however it would be amazing if they brought the warm chocolate cake back with cream.

Visited today, slow service as shortage of staff. As per usual. Trays wet and filthy dirty as not cleaned properly. Tables are a disgrace, again filthy dirty. Food ok but took ages.

Good inexpensive food. Easy disabled access. Could do with an extra hot food ordering screen. Only one person at a time can order and it takes a while to navigate the screen so a queue builds up at lunchtime.

Pretty neat looking, well organised and clean place to grab a quick bite! Very good selection of burgers with chicken and veggie/vegan alternatives. Multiple choice of fries (warm and crispy) as well as your typical selection of soft drinks. Smaller table sizes are in tandem with trays, just about perfect for your meal without any unnecessary excess dimensions. Fairly fast service despite steady flow of customers. Food alright, just find seasonal burger bit too bland to my liking.

Food tasted worsee than usual for some reason. The place was almost empty because it was late, so I cannot describe the atmosphere. The staff and service was very good and friendly.

Although food was fine, the service from the staff was poor. I politely asked for the Locked toilet to be opened as the main toilets were down 2 flights of stairs. The first lady couldn't so asked a colleague and he told me to go downstairs. I explain why I couldn't and he kept saying I had too. The staff were judgemental and rude.

I always bring my son to eat here at Burguer King. The food is always great. The chips are the best ones; delicious, crispy and warm. The people are kind and everything is very clean.

It's fast food, went in because my son wanted to eat there not really my thing I was hoping for chopstix but oh well he enjoyed his nuggets and my burger was okay, there was a party group in at the time so a bit busy. The drinks dispenser gave me coke after I selected fanta. The other machine gave me the orange stuff though. Service was fast. Floor was a bit sticky, and some tables were still full of rubbish, but there was someone racing around, making things tidy. I dont understand why people can't put stuff in the bins. It was okay I think it is preference.

Ordered for 5 people, the kebab was so greasy it had made its way through the paper, kebab meat was spicy, burger was undercooked, pitta was burnt, pizza is supposed to be cut but wasn't and apparently according to the store the kebab meat is meant to be spicy?? This caused a lot of upset If you've ordered via the app and you need a refund, you have to go via the app and not the store they won't take responsibility Would NOT recommend it to anyone!!!!!

Avoid, this place is awful. Ordered through uber eats and said 20 min estimated delivery, delivery was an hour later with restaurant not using uber delivery so they don’t update delivery time in the app clearly. But worse than late food is disgusting and missing order. Ordered a dessert but that wasn’t sent. Ordered 3 meal combo, 3 cold boxes of chips and totally oil soaked messes of mains turned up. They wrap the packets in so much paper they know how much oil is leaking from these meals. But they wrap the pitta for the doners in the same package the oil leaking “meat” boxes are in. Result is pittas are totally unusable as they are just sponges for oil and are a mushy mess. Assume this is why the kebabs turn up unmade as again you wouldn’t be able to hold them once the oil soaks in anyway. 75% of what we got delivered went straight in the bin. Decided we’d just right the meal off and try to get a better meal tomorrow somewhere. Hoping the refund request goes through but expect it will just be wasted money and going to bed hungry.

Ordered via uber eats, both of the kebabs were cold and the meat was rock hard so you could barley eat any of it. We ordered a 7” Hawaiian pizza for our son which for some reason came with pepperoni and mushrooms on it. Our son has a mushroom allergy so couldn’t eat it and all they offered was to remake it and deliver it within an hour. The kids 4 chicken nuggets meal came thrown in a box with a handful of chips if that and only 2 nuggets not 4 like advertised.

This is by far the worst food I have ever tasted the "tika" was microwaved to such an extent that it was inedible. Lamb donner was burned to a crisp with chips that taste like they have been sitting on a shelf for a week Please avoid at all cost this place is a hazard to human health

I’m seriously concerned about how Just Eat continues to work with a restaurant that behaves this irresponsibly. If they claim a driver left with the food and it never arrived — and no one follows up or takes accountability — how can Just Eat justify keeping them on the platform? How are you ensuring that your partner restaurants meet basic service standards? This experience was not just disappointing, it felt like I was being misled. I expect a proper explanation and action taken regarding this matter.

The worst take away I ever ordered. I never had to just put it all in the bin, but this was inedible. The liters of oil that the food was cooked in leaked all over the bag covering all the food in it. The salad tasted old and like it was sitting in the plastic bags for hours and the chips were soggy. The meat was grizzle and fat only and quite frankly disgusting. The restaurant would only sent us a new order of the same food. No refund of course. Do not order from there.

Absolutely disgusting food and service. Ordered through just eat, told it would be 40-50 minutes. After 3 phone calls and being told it was 5 minutes away, eventually arrived after 1 hour 55 minutes, it was of sub standard quality and as expected stone cold.... Called to complain and ask for a refund, was told I had to raise my complaint with just eat... I wouldn't recommend this place at all, avoid at all costs.

Best pizza in the town. I always order online and go to collect. Their service is on time. The online app/ email shows the process of the pizza making. It’s so easy to know when to go there and collect the pizza. Staff is friendly and efficient. Any bad day be fixed with a pizza from them. Only problem is that there’s no dine in space. Apart from that it’s the best! Also parking available.

Finally got around to order some pizza on my own as we used to get it quite often at work. When ordered mid day, my order was straight away cancelled due to lack of drivers - makes me question, why are you available on delivery platforms when not available? Got bit more successful on my next try day after, more towards evening time. Pizza itself was OK, expected slightly bigger as advertised as XXL yet it seems pretty much around the L size of other places. Not huge fan of their garlic dip, however can understand this can be just my preference.

Quality has been dropping month on month and I find after last nights delivery I need to post this review. Toppings are getting less each time I order, always have The Garden Party. Last nights Pizza was terrible delivered luke warm via Uber??? Selection of sides has drastically reduced in the offers section, now to 1 only Potato Tots!!! (Go Solo/Meal for One) Medium Pizza, Side and a bottle of drink. Come on guys you can and have done better!!

Rico delivered our pizza and was fantastic when the sat nav took him the wrong way. He called me and this solved the problem quickly rather than aimlessly driving around like many delivery drivers do, leading to cold food being delivered. He was very polite and friendly

With Chinese foods so readily available in most places and supermarkets, why is a takeaway still worth the trip once or more times a week. For Young's, the answer is the people preparing, cooking and serving your meals. The curry was lovingly home-made from scratch every week, the fish and chips very generous and fresh, and my favourite - Singapore noodles, must equal to the offerings found in Singapore. Many basic supplies now cost many times before like OIL used. So I could appreciate their cost saving initiatives like cash only. I could only be grateful that there are still passionate local Chinese takeaways like Young's.

This place Young's Fish bar in popley Basingstoke is a very good place for grabbing a Quick takeaway , the food is good and will suit everyone's taste buds, the staff is good , and they did give out the order pretty fast , only cash is accepted here and so do carry cash while going to this place, will give it a 👍for the quality of food and the price😊

This is our go to place for fish and chips and sausages and chips. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and we are always greeted with a smile. To sum it all up in one word… brilliant. We will continue to use this as our weekly treat since we have never been disappointed. If I could give them more stars I would.❤️😊

I give this fish and chips restaurant a 3 star review. I came here about a month ago, and the service is very good, staff is polite and food doesn't take too long, only about 10 minutes. Also, the food tastes good. However, you lost two stars to my two complaints. One complaint is the fish is very fragile so if you pick it up to eat it, it falls apart. However, that isn't the main reason I'm complaining here. About 1 ½ hours after I finished my meal, I had a bad tummy and felt sick. Could've thrown up, luckily didn't However.

Bought chips which looked to be cooked in the same oil as the fish, so not even vegetarian. Bought tofu with green peppers and back bean sauce - got a horrific migraine. They clearly put dairy in it for some unknown reason, no warnings about it containing dairy. Not eating here again. If you have an allergy I'd suggest avoiding. They also don't take card, at all. So that and the lack of dietary information and putting dairy needlessly into what should be plant based meals, its like a classic 1990s chippy. 30 years out of sync. If you don't have any dietary requirements, and still use old fashioned money for some reason, this place is probably great.

This has become a regular place to get takeaway from as it is local, easy to park and pick up form and has Tesco next to it to pick up things like drinks etc. The portions are generous, I overheard someone say they split their takeaway as its big enough for 2 but I prefer having leftovers the next day. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from making it nice to go back and not have the same thing every time. The price is also very reasonable My order was cooked within 10 minutes so by the time I popped into Tesco and back out my order was done. It can get busy and there are seats available but sometimes they are all used meaning g you have to stand and wait but there is enough room to no feel like you are in the way when that happens.

The chip were freezing from a less than 5 minute drive home. The chips where two days old the oil old and the pancake roll greasy. And then to to it all of the curry sauce was like glue. My partner didn’t eat any of it what a waste of £30

Ordered a spring roll amongst other things and when I got home I noticed it had been deep fried and was absolutely full of grease. We had hair in the chicken chow mein. Also ordered a chicken and mushroom pie which was cold on the bottom. It seems like everything is microwaved. Also no prices are displayed so you won't know if you are being charged the correct amount. Will not be going back.

Worst chippy chips I’ve had. We ended up throwing them.

Ordered through just eat. Delivery was extended 3x times and over an hour. They then marked it delivered, and we then rang and questioned this as food had not been delivered. The lady on the phone was exceptionally rude. Stating the driver knocked on the door twice? We live in an apartment building, and you have to use our buzzer to enter, which was not used, so this was physically impossible. We then asked for them to re deliver, and they stated that they now would refuse re-delivery because we "did not answer the door." They also stated they tried to call, but again, the phone did not ring. Smacks of incompetence and impatience. If you live in an apartment block, I recommend NOT using this place as they clearly can't be bothered to use buzzers.

Rude women after ordering off too good to go from here. The women that was rude was from there. Had an issue with too good to go. So not in anyway Thier fault. But there is no need to be rude.

Great fish & chips, very friendly staff too

Haven’t been here for many years but so glad we came back tonight. The speed of service and the quality of the food was exceptional. The satay chicken was outstanding, and the mixed starters were light and crunchy and very tasty. Everything was marvellous but the Singapore noodles were lip tinglingly great. Thoroughly enjoyable meal. We will be back for sure

If I could do zero stars I would. The only words I can describe is absolutely gutted. We have been coming to this Chinese for over 15 years and has been our only choice for Chinese, that is until tonight. Everything has changed , the chicken fried rice was bland and tasteless and contained mainly egg, didn’t even looked like it was fried. Their portion sizes have changed and their prices have gone up. The chicken chow mien was dry and tasteless. Save to say 90% of our order went in the bin. Previously they had missed some of our order and we asked before we left if they could check if everything was there and they said yes, which they also left the curry sauce out. Half the chips were black and the larger portion barely served my two toddlers and 10 year old. I rang to complain and the person on the phone seemed to take on the complaints and said he would talk to the manager and call me back which didn’t happen. Safe to say we will not be returning or recommending anymore, when we previously used to talk to highly. Hope the new owners know they ruined a good thing.

Always greeted with a friendly smile & a hello. Staff are happy to adjust your meal if need be. Excellent chicken curry collected today, piping hot chips were yummy too. Wait time was fab. Prices are good too. Would highly recommend.

We've used this Chinese for years and bragged it as the best around Basingstoke. That has now changed to the worst I've ever experienced from any other, ever. I can honestly say that absolutely every item that we received this evening was of very bad standard. Portions have reduced but prices have increased. Called to complain but was told the manager would call back, you guessed it, no call back. They have completely wrecked what used to be a fantastic cuisine and lost loyal customers and we will never use them again or recommend to anyone else. Hope they get the most out of the £70 because they will not get any more, ever.

Very rude staff. Especially the Indian lady who is (I think) the manager or the owner. Lot of issues with this places! Not sure where to start. 1. They close well before time, like 15-20 mins before the closing time! Not just once, several times and the lady is like the boss and she just ignores customers’ complains. 2. Bathrooms are not clean. When I told them about it, she said go to the mall… what kind of customer experience is this! 3. I have online offers which I wanted to avail, but for last 1 week she is saying her scanner is not working! I asked her when will it get fixed, she said “who knows”…!!??? Really…. All she wanted to do is to avoid applying offers, so that customer buys the sub in full price. This is total fraud. She should honor Subway’s offers and commitments towards customer. 4. Poor quality: PFA the pic. All you can see 4 pieces of each item. X4 lettuce, x4 onion pieces, x4 red pepper, x4 jalapeños… when I asked her to put more, she started staring at me like I asked her for her kidney!! lol. Another scam to cut the cost 5 today, I placed an online order and told one of the employees about my online order. She looked up in her system and started preparing my sub. After 30 secs, the Indian lady (manager or owner) asked the employee to stop preparing my sub and gave her some other task, coz my “order collection” time was after 20 mins. I had to wait 15 mins before she came back and resumed with my sub! How rude it is. Literally there was no one before me and she could have served the order but she dint allow her employees and let her customer wait! All that time my half prepared sub was on the worktop (counter) unattended, poor hygiene!! Very rude, unprofessional and impolite.

I was absolutely gutted to discover Subway has now walled off the iconic deli counter and replaced it with cold, impersonal screens. Supposedly this is to speed things up — but spoiler alert, it didn’t. It took TWICE as long, and let’s be real, the actual reason is to cut costs while quietly skimping on ingredients. They think the public are stupid! My sandwich was a joke. I could barely taste anything but dry bread — barely a scrap of chicken, a whisper of onion, and the tiniest drizzle of mayo sauce. It was genuinely one of the WORST sandwiches I’ve ever had. The human interaction was always part of what made Subway special, and now that’s completely gone. Honestly, I won’t be stepping foot back into a Subway while this system is in place. If I wanted a vending machine experience, I’d go to an airport. Do yourself a favour and head across the street to Tesco — at least there, you know what you’re getting. The whole experience? Ruined. 👎

I visited Subway at Festival Place and had a disappointing experience. I ordered two subs, but both were served completely cold. When I politely asked the staff at the till if they could warm them up, the lady I spoke to was extremely rude and lacked basic customer service skills. There was no sense of professionalism or courtesy. I ended up taking the food home to heat it myself. Very dissatisfied with the service—definitely not what I expected from Subway. I waited there while it was being prepared and collected it the moment it was wrapped. Despite this, the sub was already cold when I received it. I had specifically asked the Indian lady at the counter to warm. When I asked about it again, her response was dismissive and unhelpful. It’s hard to believe the sub could cool down so quickly just from walking from the table to the till to collect it.

This place use to be really good and busy. Since the installation of 3 self service screens that you have to hit to make them work, it’s lost its way. The personal touch of choosing what you want has gone. Less staff, more profits for the fat cats. 2 people walked out frustrated over the self service while I was there. The bread rolls quality has drastically gone down hill, falling apart and very very dry compared to previous rolls a while ago. Such a shame as I liked coming here often, now it’s stressful even ordering, I doubt I will be back

Clean store, fast service. Only two staff on during a busy lunch time, but they were cheerful & quick. Leanne was very good with a sense of humour. In this day and when the quantity of fast food servers is not great the chain has it right here. The store is spacious & the bathrooms are clean. Right next to the Theatre, so if you want a quick bite before a show, it would work here.

My partner and I went in on the 25/08/2025 and had a rather unpleasant experience. When she went to make herself a drink at the refillable drink machine, she had found that the nozzle had fallen into her drink. Then when we mentioned it to a member of staff, she took the cup, poured the contents out and did a quick rinse around the cup with the tap. I then asked politely if we could just have a replacement cup, as this is poor hygiene practice in a food establishment and we aren’t to know how clean that machine or nozzle actually is. When I asked for a replacement cup, the lady behind the counter became argumentative and rude with me saying that it makes no difference. This is appalling to treat a customer like that, and I was astonished that the lady behind the counter acted as if it was the end of the world to replace a mere paper cup! This is unhygienic, and we will NOT be eating here again!

Got it delivered, packed very well and was probably the freshest and best looking sub I’ve ever had, the raspberry and white chocolate cookies are also very tasty.

The worst customer experience. The staff are great, but u have to use only the digital display to order. The user interface is a joke. U can't find the all day breakfasts. Not all the displays work. This all causes delays in the user experience and adding to unnecessary customer cues. Omg, too much friction here. This is a great Anti-customer experience.

Ordered a meatball Mariana normally there quite nice but all my meatballs where burned and not much tomato sauce one of the girls made a mistake in my partners sub and they all new about it as the other girl pointed it out to the worker and they just carried on they didn’t bother restarting the order awful food

Grace is absolutely lovely best worker there by far. However the somewhat manager i think is a bit creepy as he stares at everyone in the background. And seems quite rude. Would come back again if the manager wasn’t around

The screen ordering is awful. You can't change it to get exactly what you want you can only change elements of your order. The whole point of subway is that you can get exactly what you want! The staff are all surly and act like having to do their job is a huge inconvenience. I'm not surprised that it is always quiet it's a horrible experience

Wouldn't waste your time at this location! Ordered a subway asked for extra salad on my subway didn't get it! Then ordered a churo which was buy 1 get 1 free didn't get it so I said somthing to them and I got was u didn't click 2 of them I said it's buy 1 get 1 free why should I have to can you sort this the answer was no! Waited 15 mins for food by the time I got home 5 mins down the road it was cold, unbelievable experience don't waste your money got to a different location will not be coming hear again!!!

Never get the order correctly...im not sure why??????? It's always at Chineham subway but in basingstoke town center always spot on(subway) the manager is either asleep in the chairs or completely rude (no customer service from him at all)

Chinham sub has gone all automated. The touch screens are awfully slow taking an age for two sub orders. . There is 3 people waiting for an automated bing then they make your sandwich but not how I like it when you can ask a human for one line off BBQ and just a few jalapenos but not a tablet... I will go to the others in Basingstoke before this automated site in future.

A friend recommended this place, and I heard they now do delivery, so I gave it a go. Ordered Special Chow Mein (dry), Vermicelli Singapore Style, and Chips. Everything arrived in under 30 minutes, fresh and piping hot. The food smelled amazing and tasted great—both me and the kids loved it! Not greasy, not too salty, just right and healthy.

I've been ordering from here quite a bit recently. I think it's under new ownership as the menu has increased and the quality of the food is delicious. Online ordering is simple and the delivery is very quick, thanks Alan! The duck pancakes and chicken satay is lovely, as are the curries. Big portions too! I also love that they are a chippy and you can get proper chips with your meal!

Been a regular customer here for years but only recently started getting delivery (have stopped using certain delivery people because of cold food, bad attitude missing items etc) but I can honestly say, I’m 100% happy with these guys. Ordered a Chinese takeaway and overall, it hit the spot! Delivery was on time and everything arrived hot and well-packaged — no leaks or soggy messes, which is always a good start. The driver was friendly and polite. Handed the food over with a smile. Just a small thing, but good service makes a difference!

Food was absolutely amazing…. Will deffo be coming back. Shame about the female driver we had deliver not very polite. Rather miserable. Hopefully in the future we have one of the other drivers next time as from previous experience they where really kind and helpful.

I ordered a tuna salad sub for delivery from the Brighton hill Basingstoke subway when it arrived it didn’t look good Took one bite and wondered where the salad was opened it see photo I made a official complaint to customer service they eventually replied with sorry I emailed them back saying is that it that was a week ago still waiting for a response

Went in to order from this location on Friday evening. I was made to feel welcome by a a nice lady member of staff, however whilst I was waiting and looking around. The place was so dirty. Food stuck in between all the other trays. The guy there was pulling the cheese that was stuck to the bottom on the tray to use on a customer sub. It’s was absolutely filthy. So I walked out without completing my order. Strongly recommend that the staff clean up the ingredients area as definitely a red flag there.

Today I was served by Kerry-Ann. She was kind,funny and helpful. An absolute breath of fresh air to customer service. My sub was fresh and delicious. Kerry-Ann served us with a beautiful smile and a great sence of humour. She took time to make our subs perfectly. She was very patient as I had not been to a sub way for a long time and my friend had never been. Although Kerry-Ann was busy she took time to listen and explain how things worked with meal deals and offered the best option for us. I would happily recommend Kerry-Ann and this subway to anyone. Good job Kerry-Ann well done

Not the best Subway I have had. Nothing definitive, but just missing the mark from what I have had elsewhere. Looked like new staff struggling a bit, checking and rechecking the order before wrapping Everybody was new once so not their fault, just missing that bit of Subway slickness and lack of organisation. Just seemed very flat, including the ingredients. Won't be back.

Won't be coming back here. Staff at the till paid no attention to what I ordered. I asked for the saver meal deal multiple times, but when I asked for the cookie that comes with my meal deal, she claimed I never asked for a meal deal. As I didn't ask for the receipt, I couldn’t see what she charged me for, but she was immediately dismissive instead of offering to rectify my order.

Order today in store....obvious new staff manning the counters, while a lot of babble in the back room... This lad didn't have a clue but there was nobody front of house supporting him.Second time I have been let down by this store....prefer to order elsewhere, and if that doesn't raise a red flag to the franchise, wakey wakey!! Your staff appear lazy and uninterested, taking my business elsewhere.

It was absolutely lovely. I really didn’t expect it to be so nice. Especially after ordering form charcoal grill last week. In comparison, this kebab was juicy, made up ( even those I asked CG to make up the kebab, it wasn’t.) the onion rings were hot, crispy and delicious. Only reason it lost a star was because of the description of the egg roll. I thought it was a Chinese egg roll type or roll but it was a fried egg in a burger bap. It was nice tho.

Very bad quality of food. We ordered spring rolls and they sent one big spring roll same size as sausage roll with full of sprouts and Very oily. Asked Chopsuey spicy but was full of sugar. Chicken and prawns were very salty. All the food went in the bin. Won't ordering from here again.

The guy that owned it before was not very happy but he was old so you let that go. Now the girl that serves you is really not very forthcoming and happy so they should change the name of the shop and it’s overpriced with the minimum spend on card of £10 Quality of food is not as good as it was originally either . They used to give you free prawn crackers and now you’re lucky if you get five King prawns in your king prawn fried rice that cost you nearly £8

Have ordered from thsi place 3-4 times in the past couple of months, food has been fairly good, however what's not so good is the delivery time, first order was super fast, and since then it is getting worse for delivery, today's order is now over half an hour over their estimated time for delivery of 45mins to 1 hour, called them only to be told it will be here shortly, the takeaway is 12 minutes from my house, when it turns up this will be the last takeaway we have from this place. Terrible service

Not used this takeaway before. Came up on Deliveroo… but £4 cheaper to order direct! Beijing chicken is a rare option but spotted it and it was perfect. Egg fried rice was spot on… most just sell boiled rice with egg these days, this is actually brown, fried and tasty!! Beef and Mushrooms also really tasty. Whole meal was just as it should be, and delivered quickly and hot. Dare I say.. best Chinese I’ve had for about 15 years?!

Eat here as my normal takeaway is closed and I wish I hadn't it love chicken so I chose lots with chicken in. What a big let down all the chicken was over cooked and horrible I will never eat here again and advise everyone else give it a miss there are a lot better out there

Delicious kebabs, and the portion sizes are very generous- like Halil! Upon arriving we realised it was cash only. The absolute gent said just to pay it back when we can. Offered us some sample chicken fresh off the grill too! Highly recommend for the service alone- the good food is for sure a bonus.

Had a Halil Special the other night, great taste, great portion. The lamb shish , chicken shish with rice is also highly recommended.

Our first time visiting Smiley’s Kebab and we will 110% be back! My boyfriend stopped there to get us dinner on his way home last night and said the chef was so kind, really friendly and as for the food….. Out of this world!! I had a small chicken kebab and the portion size was so generous (I couldn’t finish it 😂), the food quality was the best we’ve had in years! Thanks so much, we will be back soon, Em & Mike xx

We came by motorbikes and needed to charge our phones – the super friendly and funny chef gladly helped out. We had a great chat, enjoyed a refreshing drink, and had a delicious meal. Perfect stop to recharge ourselves too! 😄 We’ll definitely be back!

I have been going here every Friday for the last 5 years. 100% the best kebab in Basingstoke. Fantastic service from the lads is always guaranteed. The Doner is succulent and tender, fresh salad and the chilli sauce is homemade - spicy and delicious. Chips are always fresh and crispy. Would highly recommend Smiley's, I'll certainly keep going back every week.

MOULD! The only positive was that the Order was correct. Sadly, Mouldy pitta was enough to put the whole family off their dinner. What a pitta, I mean Pity.

I went in for a sit down, the gentleman that served me was really friendly. I ordered a single mixed kebab with chilli sauce and garlic mago. The sauce came in a separate pot, the salad was on the side and the meat, rice was presented nice and tasted delicious. I highly recommend the shish restaurant.

Usually they are very good, but tonight we ordered at 5.45 pm and by 7pm we phoned. Number of times to find out where our delivery was to be told it's on is way I called again at 7.15pm as still did not receive our food to be told again it's on its way 7.25pm called again and was told they would.contact the driver, finally the food turned up at 7.35pm nearly 2 hours later to be told by the person who delivered our food that they are short on driver's and he helped them food was cold and £30 now in the bin, they need to be honest to say they are short of drivers

I have had a German doner kebab before, this was nothing like it. Basically a French stick full of greasy kebab meat. Chicken was also greasy. BBQ sauce zero flavour. Way too much money for the amount of food delivered. I won't rush back, ideally ever

Honestly, where to start, first the price, £15 plus £2.50 for a yoghurt garlic sauce. So I'm thinking it's either massive or very nice??? Well... the chicken shish was dry, hard and tasteless. The lamb doner what can be bad about it, its lamb so going to be tasty... Wrong! The most tasteless kebab ive ever eaten! The dryness of the chicken is eatable due to the sauce, but my god what a waste of overpriced tasteless food!!! This is based on my only time and last that I've ordered from here, No Thanks, there are plenty tastier kebab vans in basingstoke that I should have used rather than trying something different!!!

Came across this small spot after a long trip from Lands End, there's a local mosque 5 minutes away, food here is 100% halal. I ordered the megastoke burger with chips chips it was an absolute delight, rate it 10/10 all meat was seasoned huge portion of food and felt completely filled to the brim in a good way, if ever you're passing by drop down here and they'll treat you amazingly. 😀

Unfortunately I am having to write a negative review of this Pizza Hut because I phoned up today to make an enquiry and before I could even ask my question the worker abruptly told me he does not deal with the app and hung up. I tried to phone back 3 times and he recognised my number and hung up. Extremely rude and makes me never want to order from Pizza Hut again in my life.

Worst wrap what I ever eat. Meat taste is like from day before and just reheat. No recommend for any one. Chips is not bad but meat in a wrap not nice. Throwing wrap to the bin.

First time I've visited and did so on the back of a recommendation. Glad I did as the haddock and chips were the best I've had. Huge portion of haddock and chips which tasted lovely, and the price was definitely cheaper than other local establishments I used to use. This is now my new go to fish and chip shop!

The fish was nice but comes with the skin on. The chips were overcooked and dry. The portion sizes are good. The staff are friendly.

Hi guys sorry to write this ☹️ but in the past your chip shop use to be really good but tonight my partner came and got me 2 sausages in batter and chips for a change as I haven’t had anything from you for quite a while but when she got home and I then opened up the wrapping to be really disappointed with the chips ☹️ because they was WELL over cooked and TASTELESSNESS but the sausages was really good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so I won’t complain about them 😂 so come on guys sort the chips out and get the Chippy back to how it used be 👍 ps I wasn’t the only one complaining tonight because someone else was complaining on Facebook 😬 so you really need to get things sorted which hopefully I’m sure you will 👍

I've lived 10 minutes away from here for 2 years, and I didn't even know until today. Quite literally a hidden gem of Basingstoke, Best fish I've had in a long time and a large cod was more like a small shark. My go to chippy from now on

The best fish and chips around! All cooked fresh and hot, the fish is not sitting under hot lights for hours, and unlike some other chippys in the area my cod didn't have a single bone in it 👍 The curry sauce is also super spicy 🔥just as it should be

Fish and chips packed separately so that the fish was still crispy when I got home. Fish cooked perfectly, curry sauce very tasty, very large portion of chips.
