Cihu Mausoleum, located in Daxi District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan, is a serene lakeside resting place for Chiang Kai-shek. The mausoleum features an hourly changing-of-the-guard ceremony and is surrounded by a bronze statue park housing statues removed from all over Taiwan due to public protest. It offers visitors the opportunity to delve into Taiwanese history during the KMT Chiang Kai-shek era.
One of the most special spots which everyone need to visit in Taiwan. it combines beautiful Nature of Taiwan togethet with eclectic not always easy understandable history of Taiwan(previously Formosa) Chiang Kaishek Mausoleum (which is one of his residences before) and big park with lake surrounding it plus historical grimace of Chiangs Cult Statues which were brought here after democratization of Taiwan adds more uniqueness to this worth-visit place. its a-must visit place on all of my taiwan private tours.

Once accessible, this was the dignified resting place of Chiang Kai-shek, the great statesman who pivoted China onto the UN Security Council and steered an ancient nation away from a century of humiliation. Sadly, senseless vandalism has forced the closure of the mausoleum's interior to the public.

This is a combination garden park and memorial to Chiang-kai Shek. The garden has running stream and pond (inhabited by black & white geese). Chiang’s mausoleum is also here. There are regularly scheduled changing of the guards. There are many statues of Chiang and a few statues of Sun Yat-sen. My friend told me the statutes of both Sun (father of the Republic of China) and Chiang were moved here because most Taiwanese did not want these statues in their local cities, towns, schools, … I thought Sun and the Nationalists represented China’s attempt to create representative government with a republican structure. But that is not how the Taiwanese people see it. One thing is true. Taiwan has representative government now which means something was accomplished. The Nationalists were voted out. Another political party was voted in. On mainland China no one got a vote. As an American I think government by the people, for the people, & of the people is very difficult. But the other choice is a step backward. The people of Europe fought from 1789 to 1945 to achieve government of the people. The road was bloody, but freedom is not free. 1-2 countries in Far East Asia have achieved democracy. At least I hope so.

A beautiful place to walk and enjoy the scenery. A must destination for those who have studied the history of WW 2. I came to pay my respects to this interesting and incredible man 🙏

Beautiful tribute to the first President of Taiwan. Sad we weren't able to pay respect to Chiang Kai-Shek. The mausoleum was sealed off from public view due to an irate national who desecrated the memorial on February 28, 2018. No matter the political views, should not act out on a founders grave site. That's low.
Juan L — Google review
Mausoleum with history of Taiwan and beautiful greenish surrounding. Mausoleum is well connected to public transportation from Taoyuan station. Mausoleum has beautiful ponds with lots of duck and surrounded by beautiful art works and mountains. Guard changing activity is the one of attraction of the park.
Mohd K — Google review
Nice to look at from the outside, but I don't think you can enter. It's interesting to see this mausoleum in the beautiful surroundings and the statue park right next door. Come there for the hourly changing of the guard!

Tamsui Presbyterian Church is a well-preserved historic church in Taiwan, originally built by the Japanese pre-war. Its striking red exterior makes it a popular spot for tourists and photographers. The church stands as a memorial to Dr. MacKay, a Canadian missionary who contributed significantly to education, healthcare, and support in Taiwan.
One of the oldest church in Taiwan. The outlook is definitely well maintained. There are many tourist coming here to take photos.

With the church tower in the far background, this looks like a scene from a movie or anime. Built by the Japanese pre war, this well-preserved church looks like it was new. It is the Reddest church I have ever seen, come and see for yourself. Somehow i feel this will be a great place to take a family photo during the Lunar new year. GONG XI FA CAI!!!

Catholic church
Place of worship
The Catholic Church in Taipei, St. Christopher's, is a quiet place of worship where many local stores cater to foreign workers and locals alike. It is easily accessible by bus and a short walk away from MRT Station.
St. Christopher Church holds three English mass (9 AM, 10.30 AM and 6 PM) and one Vietnamese mass (4.30 PM) on Sunday with the spacious area for mass attendances. The best option for travel is the bus since the church locates quite far from metro station.
Tran T — Google review
I visited this church multiple times for Sunday masses, and I was pleased to find that they offered both English and Tagalog masses. However, the attendants were quite strict and did not allow latecomers to enter. There’s room for improvement, particularly in terms of punctuality, as the masses often started late.
LE R — Google review
Im thankful because we can attend an anticipated English Mass on Saturday at 5pm. And English Masses every Sundays on our vacation here in Taipei. But a church should be relative quiet and order to facilitate focused worship and contemplation. While silence is not always the primary focus, it's an important element for prayer, reflection, and maintaining a respectful atmosphere. The parishioners who wants to pray after the holy mass cannot concentrate anymore because of the volunteers unnecessary chatting inside the church. I hope this comment would reach your concern because A church is holy place often seen as a sacred and reverent space.
Kathryn A — Google review
St. Christopher Catholic Church – Sunday Mass Experience We attended the 10:30 AM English Sunday Mass at St. Christopher Catholic Church and had a truly pleasant experience. The service was well-organized and spiritually uplifting. The congregation had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with many members of the Filipino community in attendance, which added to the vibrant and inclusive feel. The church is equipped with air conditioning, which was a big relief during the hot summer season. It made the whole experience much more comfortable. Overall, a great place to worship if you're looking for an English mass with a welcoming community and a cool, peaceful environment. Priest springkle holy water to the people after the blessing. Highly recommended for both visitors and locals.
Andy N — Google review
Has Filipino, English, Vietnam, Chinese language mass, and confession before and after every mass.
Paolo B — Google review
Easily accessible by bus and a short walk away from MRT Station. A quiet place of worship for Catholics. Many local stores that cater foreign workers and locals alike are available around the area. Remittance Center is just meters away.

This is the most inward looking community I've attended in my life. Have never felt even more unwelcome as a Catholic E.g. Our Father sung in Tagalog but no text on screen! There's ecoffee opposite if you need a quick morning fix. 9am or 10.30am Sun mass in English

Chi-Nan Presbyterian Church, located in the heart of Taipei, was constructed over a century ago during the Japanese colonial period. The Gothic-style church, designed by architect Kaoru Ide, stands out with its red brick facade and towering structure amidst nearby Renaissance-style buildings. This historical site offers visitors a glimpse into the nostalgic architecture of early 20th-century Taiwan.
A traditional building with spiritual significance to all! Great church ⛪️ in Sunday morning worship, bring you peace and calm, joy and happiness.😇 WELCOME 🤗 ALWAYS!!!

Jinan Presbyterian Church, formerly known as Taipei Sing-machi Church, is a Presbyterian church located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan. It is named after its location on Jinan Road in the Boai District area. It was built in 1916 by the Japanese Christian Church in Taipei. Its simple and solemn appearance attracts the attention of tourists.

We came by accidentally walking aimlessly looking for a Church since it's a sunday. Not only were we warmly welcomed by our brothers and sisters in Christ but they even gave us food to eat after the mass. I am Catholic and they were aware of it. I will never forget their generosity and cordial welcome to us as guests. Truly this presbyterian Church is a beacon of hope to spread the Gospel of our Lord Jesus.

Airport
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is a modern airport located in the Taipei area, offering a wide range of amenities for travelers. From a library and game area to shopping, dining options, and even showers, the airport aims to provide comfort and convenience for all visitors. Traveling to and from the airport is made easy with the Taoyuan International Airport MRT Line, connecting it to various stations including Taipei Main Station.
Taoyuan International Airport: A Breeze of a Welcome! ✈️ Arriving at Taoyuan International Airport is truly a smooth and wonderful experience. From the moment you land, everything feels efficient and welcoming. A Smooth and Speedy Arrival 💨 Getting through customs was an absolute breeze. The process was fast and organized, with clear signage and friendly staff. It felt like no time at all before I was on my way to baggage claim. The adorable plush dog at the biosecurity checkpoint was a nice, unexpected touch! 🐶 Bags in a Flash 🧳 The seamless journey continued right to the luggage carousels. My bag appeared almost instantly, making the entire retrieval process quick and stress-free. There's nothing better than a fast and reliable baggage system after a long flight! Beyond the Basics ✨ This airport is more than just efficient; it's a great first impression of Taiwan. I loved seeing the vibrant "Welcome" wall in so many languages and the incredible Lego model of the airport. It shows how much thought and care goes into the details here. It's truly a top-notch airport! 💯
Lifeooferic — Google review
This airport gets an award for the most unique gates! They all have different themes and are visually interesting, informative, and interactive. They’re separated into two parts; the ground floor waiting area complete with charging at the seats and the downstairs where you get ready to board, also with seating. I find the international terminal to be heavily focused on duty free and luxury shopping, which makes it tough to actually be convenient. When I have a layover here or am departing back home, I’m not interested in buying souvenirs or luxury goods. I’m trying to be comfortable for my flight ahead… Find things I need like cough drops or headache medicine, dried fruits and nuts, healthy snacks, mints or gum, magazines to read, etc. I would die for a 7-Eleven of Family Mart that I can actually get to from inside Termjnal 2. A lovely airport nonetheless, and as someone from the U.S., this airport beats any of them!
Travwell G — Google review
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport — one of the busiest airports in Asia and the main gateway to Taiwan. The airport is clean, modern, and well-organized, with friendly staff and plenty of facilities. There are lots of dining options, souvenir shops, and convenience stores like 7-Eleven available after check-in. Free Wi-Fi works well throughout the terminals. The layout is spacious and comfortable for both short stops and long layovers. Overall, a great airport experience for travelers.

Date Arrival: 24.9.2025 12.05pm Date Departure: 30.9.2025 1.05am Flight: Scoot Gate departure in Taiwan B8 Very good and smooth. The instruction for the direction also very clear. Where to collect the luguage also will display in big screen. You need to fill in arrival card online before the custom. Mostly communication in Chinese but they can communicate in English also. Departure hall in Taiwan B8 got 4 special chair, you can lie down like bed, but hard to get as people will chop the seat super early. Hope we can have more that kind of seats.
William T — Google review
Very clean and signage was very helpful with both chinese and english. The only disadvantage is there's not American fast food eateries on airside. Most of them are available before the customs gate, including convenient stores. They do have local food available but most of them were closed by the time I cleared customs.
Elle Y — Google review
Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei is modern, clean, and well-organized. The terminals are spacious with clear signage and friendly staff. Fast check-in, plenty of local and international food options, and a great duty-free zone with tea and pineapple cakes. Comfortable lounges and rest areas make it ideal for transit travelers.
Quy N — Google review
Clean and modern with all facilities needed for a good travel experience. The only thing I noticed is that there are no shops to buy basic travel food like chips, water and snacks. I also did not see a pharmacy in the departure terminal.
Mohammad A — Google review
August 2024 Absolutely loved our airport experience during a layover! Everything was super clean, with clear directions and plenty of staff around to help. There’s a lot to see and explore — from a gaming area to several unique zones throughout the airport. We have access to the premium lounges thanks to American Express, and it was such a nice perk. The lounge had a good variety of food and lots of space to relax while waiting for our flight — a great way to unwind in between travel. We tried to find the Hello Kitty area, but didn’t want to risk missing our flight if it was too far, so we skipped it. We also grabbed a meal at a restaurant (didn’t catch the name) but the food was 10/10 — super tasty and affordable. One of the best layover experiences we’ve had!

Hospital
Medical Center
Mackay Memorial Hospital, a prominent healthcare institution in Taiwan for over a century, is renowned for its exceptional medical professionals and dedicated volunteers. Situated along one of Taipei's bustling boulevards, the hospital is known for its top-notch doctors and compassionate nursing staff. Despite being frequently crowded, patients appreciate the shorter waiting times compared to other hospitals. While some find the surroundings less than ideal, many praise the quality of care received at Mackay Memorial Hospital.
As a British man using this hospital to get my Australian WHV health examination done, I was a little nervous. However, the process was extremely straightforward, the staff were very helpful and a language barrier was not an issue. Only qualm is that I wasn’t shown my chest x-ray results. There can’t have been any glaring issues as my visa was granted, but I was rather curious to see if my 5+ years of smoking and other self destructive behaviour had left any visible impact.
Harry J — Google review
Every negative review you read about this place is true. The main two issues: Rude nurses and long wait times. Longer wait times than some developing nations - I spent FIVE HOURS on a simple gastro check up. Absolutely no communication, patience, or care from some nurses. Every question is like you're taking up their time. They'd rather you actually died than be there. The only redeeming factor is that the volunteer helpers are kind, and some doctors are good, but they are so overworked that that cannot spend the time on you that they need to. The system is bloated, and so a lot of these issues are likely the result of an overburdened and aging healthcare system.
Steven S — Google review
I had to visit emergency room due to a little accident on weekend. Examin was very gentle and thoroughtly. Staff was friendly and competent. My wound was suited and cleaned; advise and medicine was given accordingly. Very satisfied! One point minus for atmosphere and envorinment inside ER and surgery room. As foreigner I had to pay treatment directly but it was not pricy and appropriate for such holistic examin and treatment.
Markus W — Google review
One of the most significant hospitals in Taiwan for over a hundred of years! Lots of excellent doctors, nurses and volunteers. Always very crowded! Been here for numerous times for all sorts of illnesses. The location is excellent by one of the bushiest boulevards in Taipei. The doctors are top notches in Taiwan 🇹🇼! The nurses are caring and courteous!
Pno E — Google review
It was a terrible situation. We went to the hospital as foreigners, and we didn’t know what was going on. We went to the emergency room, but we waited for over 3 hours. Once they realized we couldn’t speak Chinese, no one took care of us. I really hope I can find a better hospital next time—not this one. And the doctor said that next time we can’t come here and have to go somewhere else. But before we saw the doctor, we met the nurse for a check-up—so why didn’t anyone tell us earlier? They just told us to come here. We can’t know everything that’s why we come here. This is very bad
Nathida A — Google review
Honestly amazing care from this emergency room. I was a tourist in Taipei with onky english but the staff were so kind and helpful and they spoke very good English. I was seen and given medication in less than 20 mins. I left the hospital shortly after coming in and it cost me around 40 euro for everything. Wonderful job
Rebecca — Google review
Honestly, worst experience ever, I'd rate 0 stars if I can. Rude staff, impatient, they don't seem like they want to help. I was waiting for hours with a high fever but they weren't helpful at all, 0/10 wouldn't ever recommend coming here, especially the lady in the lab, very rude, shouldn't even become a healthcare worker. The only person nice to me the whole time I was there was the guy in the CT scan department, he's actually nice and patient.
Erin — Google review
Waiting in registration: 30 mins Waiting for the clinic: 1 hour Waiting for vaccination: 40 mins Waiting for the prescription medicine: 1 hour Waiting for pay the fee: 10 mins Do not come to this hospital unless you enjoy crowded people or have no where to go. 1 star credit goes all to the very kind doctor, nurse, and staff. However the whole workflow and maze-like floor plan is very inconvenient for disability and elderly for sure. Please see the photo of crowd you know what I mean.

The Taipei Cultural Mosque, constructed in 1950 by Akhond Hsiao, a leader of the Chinese Muslim Youth League, serves as a hub for spreading Islam. Located near Exit 1 of Taipower Building Station, it is easily accessible and features a clean and convenient environment. While smaller than the Taipei Grand Mosque, it offers proximity to halal restaurants for post-Iftar meals and prayer facilities for Maghreb, Isya, and Tarawih prayers.

Can alight at Taipower Building MRT exit 1 then walk around 2 minutes to go here. This mosque got 2 toilets with squat and sit bowl. Yang penting berak cangkuk better and got water pipe to wash it. Had a pleased visit. The mosque is carpeted and cannot remember if got aircond or not as was using fan that day. The Taipei Cultural Mosque is a mosque in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. The mosque is the third one to be built in Taiwan and it is owned by the Chinese Muslim Youth League. Rate: 7/10

Xiao Wulai Waterfall is a picturesque natural attraction located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Accessible by public bus, this forested waterfall features three tiers and can be viewed from an observation deck or a modern glass skywalk. The area is known for its clean river water where visitors can see fish swimming.
Great place for family recreation. With cheap ticket prices. We can see the bridge from the glass to see the view of the waterfall, on the other side there is also a suspension bridge. There is free parking. Public toilets are available. For the disabled a little less facilitated.
Jeng T — Google review
Visiting the glass bridge above the waterfall was truly a breathtaking and unforgettable experience. The combination of natural beauty and modern engineering creates a magical atmosphere that is perfect for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike. The glass panels allow you to look directly down into the cascading waterfall and the pristine river below, giving you a unique perspective that you won’t find anywhere else. The river itself is incredibly clean, with crystal-clear water that adds to the overall charm of the area. One of the highlights of the visit was the quality and stability of the bridge’s rope structure. It feels both secure and fascinating, offering a slight sense of adventure while still maintaining the highest safety standards. The walking trail leading to and from the bridge is well-designed and very safe, suitable for visitors of all ages. Public facilities along the route, including restrooms and rest areas, are well-maintained and clean, which adds to the overall comfort of the experience. Most importantly, the staff and management on site were exceptionally professional and courteous. Their dedication to safety and hospitality is commendable. At just 50 NTD per ticket, the experience is not only memorable but also extremely affordable. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area

The glass bridge ruin your adrenalin if you're afraid of high 😅 Unfortunately there's no praying room in here, I hope it can be a moslem friendly place soon.

(Translated by Google) As an alumnus of Sacred Heart High School for decades, I am very grateful for the love Sacred Heart has given me. The teachers in the school are very good to the students. Some people comment that the teachers are not good... These can be reported to the school! Some people commented on going through their schoolbags and wrote a warning. This is a school rule. The school does not want students to bring outside food into the school because the school has prepared food for them (except for breakfast for day students, which is allowed, but they must be eaten as soon as possible, otherwise they will Schools in the suburbs can easily attract rats) The teachers in the school are really tolerant of everything I have. At an age where it is easy to be led astray, they have blocked many external bad habits. The school is very closed, and there are many traditions in the school. It is a custom, but I am absolutely willing to send my child who has just turned 4 years old to go there when she is 12 years old, because I know that Sacred Heart Girls' High School can definitely help me teach my child what responsibility, empathy and gratitude are. The content of accommodation and breakfast is not inferior to that of a five-star hotel. There is plenty of natural lighting, a high-ceiling lobby, and a high CP value. (Translated by Google) In 1947, James Sun, an American pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, and his wife, Lilian Sun, came to the Jiaoban Mountain area in Taoyuan to preach to the local Atayal settlement. The pastor preached in Hokkien, and Atayal believers translated it into the ethnic language. Initially, missions were held in residents' homes. Later, as the number of believers increased, the Presbyterian Church needed a spacious space, so the relatively flat Shaiguchang was chosen as the place to build the church. On December 15, 1963, the Jiguopa Old Church, formerly known as the Sanmin Presbyterian Church, was officially built at the faith center of the local TUBA tribe. At the beginning of the construction of the church, it was proposed and promoted by James Sun and designed by Pastor Huang Rongquan. The church was designed with the concept of "key to the kingdom of heaven" and gathered the power of the Fa'a tribe believers. Considering that the aboriginal people traditionally use bamboo and wood as building materials, but the wooden building structures often face corrosion and need to be repaired, the church switched to stone as the building material, especially from the Bat Cave Riverbank area a few kilometers away from the church. The stone was cut and then cut and built by hand by stone cutters hired from Beitou District to shape the current general appearance. A warehouse was later built on the back side of the building. As the number of believers in the Dufaa tribe increased, the church space gradually became insufficient. The tribesmen built a new church nearby, and the old church and the surrounding land were immediately sold off. Later, the Taoyuan County Cultural Bureau discovered that it had cultural preservation value, and with the consent of the landowner named Wang, it was renovated and transformed into the center of local Atayal culture. It was agreed that the business model would not change within nine years. In 2000, the Jiguo Pai Old Church was selected as one of the Ten Historic Buildings in Taoyuan City and ranked 61st on the Top 100 Historic Buildings in Taiwan. From 2004 to 2010, the old Christian church was revitalized as a local cultural center and used as a communication venue, church and tribal special celebration space through the local cultural center advisory group plan. In recent years, due to the fact that the church is privately owned, the surrounding environment of the church has been vandalized, resulting in landowners repeatedly erecting green iron panels to block the entry and exit of tribesmen and tourists. Starting in 2021, churches will begin to reopen briefly during special events.
