Daxi Old Street, located in Taoyuan, Taiwan, is a charming historic district that provides a window into traditional Taiwanese culture. The street is lined with well-preserved buildings dating back to the late 19th century Japanese rule over Taiwan. Visitors can explore specialty shops, cafes, and stalls offering traditional foods and local handicrafts. Notable attractions in the area include Lee Teng-fan's Ancient Residence and Daxi Wude Hall.
Pretty laid back place with tons of food. If you love cultural things and old buildings, worth to drop by. It is very outskirt and the tourist bus timing is pretty off from the published schedule. Check the local website instead (dun rely on google)
Kee C — Google review
It's a street with old looking architecture. The district is known for their tofu products such as Douhua (silken tofu desert) and braised tofu. I arrived here around 7AM and most stalls are closed, they open around 9AM onwards.
Marc J — Google review
Very unique culturally immersive district. We only visited Taipei for one day and came to this district via Uber. We are Americans. The food, people, and architecture was a great experience for the short time we were there.
Jeffrey H — Google review
Daxi has done a great job preserving the facades and old buildings. Definitely worth a visit for the small town atmosphere.
Edward Z — Google review
Come to see this old street with food and things you can buy. The scenery is nice too.
Ren C — Google review
The street is still asleep before 11am. Lots of walking to see other views. It is nice and quiet.

We visited Daxi old street and had a great time walking around looking at the stores! But what stood out even more were the street performers. They had incredible energy and aura, clearly loving every moment of singing and performing for visitors. I truly hope they make it big.

Amusement park ride
If you're seeking a delightful family adventure, look no further than the Window on World Theme Park. This enchanting destination features over 130 meticulously crafted models of iconic global landmarks at a 1/25 scale, making it a miniature marvel to explore. Beyond the impressive replicas, visitors can enjoy thrilling rides and an exciting water park that opens during the summer months of July and August. While the rides may not be brand new, they still offer plenty of fun for both kids and adults alike.
Even though it's a Sunday, we needn't line up for long to play on the amusement park facilities. I really loved that.
Mena A — Google review
A fun place to bring your kids. Agree with many other reviews. The miniature world is a bit dated but it’s still appreciated, especially with the hot climate. Had no idea there was an actual amusement park inside where you have to take a train across. All the rides are free! They also have little kids rides (90cm to 110cm). Be warned, the water rides get you drenched (Requiring change of clothes drenched). You can buy a plastic rain cover set for 50NT. Didn’t try the food.
Iku Y — Google review
One park, two atmospheres. This theme consists of actually two different locations. One is their original park with miniature buildings, trains, yards and more. Main focus is Taiwan, Japan and China. Very well designed park with small trees like Japanese park. Also some moving elements like trains and airplanes. Although outdated, great to see! Then you can take the train to the other section of the park that is completely different. Walking to this section is another option when the queue is too long for the train. Takes about 15 minutes by foot. The second section is more like a Taiwan theme park with roller coasters, many slot machines, water park, and vendor selling lots of snacks. No clear focus on the miniatures world. It also have two small parks to introduce some European and American buildings, but it is clear to me that they spend significant less effort to make this stand out. No moving elements and less detail to the park itself. Don't get me wrong, still nice to walk around, but different feeling compared to first section of the park. What stood out that there were so many commercials from PEPSI, would be better to brand it to Window on Pepsi :). The branding changed btw some years ago to Window on World, but that has not everywhere (such as at the entrance) been updated. So in general, yes I enjoyed the park but the park clearly lacks focus: either focus on standard theme park or on miniature zed world. Price recommendation: 350 twd max.

This is a place that I have visited as a child more than 30 years ago and it was a nice nostalgic place to bring my kids to now. It was fun to explore the miniature worlds and find places I had seen when I was a child, not much has changed in a good way! Then we spent majority of the time since it was hot and humid at the water park area and indoor play area (playground, merry go round and dining). The water park was pretty vast and had many areas of play for different ages of kids. As foreign visitors, we did not know prior to going but it is required to wear swim caps so stock up before you go or you can purchase at their gift shop as well which we did for about $70NT - $120NT. There was plenty to keep small ones occupied for the day and they did not want to leave, great place for some water play in the hot humid summer. Also they have stroller rentals for reasonable prices which made the visit easier with small ones and toddlers. Highlights were the big water ride and train ride to the water park. We went on a summer week day which was not too crowded at all. Also, it’s not super easy to get to by public transportation, we took car service/taxi to get there.

充滿歡樂回憶的地方~~ We had such a wonderful time visiting the Miniature World theme park! My child was absolutely thrilled exploring all the beautifully detailed scenes, each one carefully designed and full of imagination. Since our visit was during the Halloween season, the park was decorated with festive pumpkins, lights, and spooky yet fun displays, adding an extra layer of excitement. It was a magical experience that created so many joyful memories for our family, and we’re already looking forward to visiting again.
Jeff Y — Google review
An amazingly adorable place to visit! During my visit, there was a huge promotion for the ticket, made the visit even more worth it! If you have kids, definitely bring them over here. Lots of attractions to see and to experience. During summer time is better because they open their water park on July and August only. Keep in mind during these months the park can be crowded even on weekdays, and the sun shines so bright! So don't forget to pack water, sunscreen, and wear jackets if needed. Also don't forget to bring swimsuit and umbrella as well. The employees all are very friendly and cheerful, really recommended for a family visit, or even a date!
Lorraine F — Google review
This theme park is amazing. It has operated for more than 20 years, but the miniatures, indoor/outdoor games are still managed very well. I like their miniatures of collections, they are awesome! It's also a nice place to play the bumped car, water coaster 🎢🌊

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Taipei, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall stands as a significant national landmark dedicated to honoring the legacy of Chiang Kai-shek, Taiwan's former president. This impressive structure is surrounded by a sprawling park that features serene fish ponds and beautifully landscaped gardens, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and reflection. The memorial not only showcases a striking bronze statue of Chiang but also highlights Taiwan's complex history, as he was both revered and criticized for his leadership during turbulent times.
This place is simply breathtaking. The structures are massive, impressive, and full of history. Everywhere you look, there are photo-worthy spots and a beautiful garden with a peaceful lake that you shouldn’t miss. You can freely walk around and explore every corner — everything is clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. Along the way, you’ll find historical signs that explain what you’re seeing, which makes the visit even more meaningful. The entire area feels calm and respectful, inviting you to slow down and take it all in. Taiwan truly stands out for its stunning cultural landmarks, and this one is no exception. It’s an unmissable spot for tourists and anyone visiting Taipei — a perfect mix of history, beauty, and tranquility.
Monica E — Google review
The Memorial plaza is an interesting place as it stands out in its given location, surrounded by post modern buildings and bustling traffic while the Memorial buildings stand in grand scale, seemingly untouched by time. The area as a whole is free to enter, while the red side buildings hosts cultural theaters that you need to purchase tickets from their box offices within to view. It's very easy to commute to this location when using their railway systems, just be aware which exit you need to go through in order to be at its doorstep.

I had such a great experience here! The place is absolutely breathtaking and totally worth a visit. There are lots of gift shops where you can buy souvenirs and do fun things like coin pressing too. I also recommend this place if you want to stroll around and enjoy the park filled with animals like birds, fish, and turtles. They’re super friendly and really cute — it’s the perfect spot to spend a peaceful, sunny morning.

A beautiful place full of history and stunning architecture. Kiang is such an interesting person — his handwriting is truly amazing! I really enjoyed the seasonal exhibitions, they always bring something fresh to see. And don’t forget to stop by the gift shop — lots of lovely souvenirs to take home. Definitely a 5-star experience!
Amy L — Google review
This is a great landmark to visit to learn some history around the previous political climate. There is great architecture to see and a garden to walk through. Underneath the memorial there are exhibitions to learn more and they have multiple language accessibility and the materials on show case are very diverse. It was a great activity to do on my first day in the city to learn and understand the modern political climate and what journey Taiwan has been on. Some exhibitions are free. There are great gift shops and also an elevator to the iron memorial if you don’t want to walk the stairs. I found the layout very easy to walk around and clearly signposted. It was a good activity for midday escaping the height of the heat in mid October. His government was based in mainland China until it was defeated in the Chinese Civil War by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1949, after which he continued to lead the Republic of China on the island of Taiwan. Chiang served as leader of the Nationalist Kuomintang (KMT)

This place is grand. Pictures cant describe it. To bad, you cant go inside to see the theater and concert hall. Very nice landscape and two small ponds on both side of the hall. Changing guards ceremony is good to watch. Less than 100 steps to the memorial where the ex-president statue sit. If you turn around, its beautiful to see of the whole place.
T N — Google review
A striking landmark with impressive architecture and spacious grounds with a diverse floral. The memorial hall hosts exhibitions on Taiwan’s history and culture. Next to it are the Grand Theatre and Concert Hall, making it a great place to visit for both sightseeing and arts.
Mariya N — Google review
A must-visit landmark in Taipei! The grand architecture, wide plazas, and stunning gardens make it such a beautiful place to explore. Perfect spot for photos and to learn a bit of Taiwan’s history. Make sure to apply sunscreen during the day and it’s best to visit in the afternoon when it’s not too sunny.

Nestled in the heart of Taipei, the Taipei Children's Amusement Park is a delightful haven for families seeking fun and adventure. This vibrant attraction features an array of rides and play areas designed to entertain children of all ages. Thrill-seekers will love the exhilarating Magic Star Trek roller coaster, while those looking for a unique experience can brave the Drop Tower, which mimics a jungle treehouse and offers an exciting free-fall descent.
Wonderful Family Day Out at Taipei Children’s Amusement Park! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a great time at Taipei Children’s Amusement Park—highly recommended for families! It’s a spacious, well-organized park with a good mix of attractions suitable for all ages. From toddlers to older kids (and even adults), there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Our toddler was especially thrilled with the giant sand play area—she spent hours happily building sandcastles while we relaxed nearby. The park is filled with a variety of rides, from gentle ones for younger kids to more exciting options for older children. There’s also plenty to explore on foot, making it a fun and active outing. We appreciated the many restaurants and cafes on-site, which made meal and snack times easy and convenient. There are also plenty of shaded areas and spots to sit and chill, perfect for taking breaks between rides. What’s more, the location is fantastic! After finishing up at the amusement park, we took a short walk over to the Taipei Science Center and the Taipei Astronomical Museum, both of which made great additions to our day. Overall, it was a fantastic experience—fun, educational, and relaxing all in one. A must-visit for families visiting Taipei!
Phil M — Google review
Overall I thought it was an average park compared to ones we have been before. Extra points for convenience since you can pay with the Youcard and there is a small range of rides to accommodate kids who like calm rides to exciting rides. Most rides require 110 cm and my son Is only 105 cm. 🥲 I took stars off for the robot rides that looked amazing but cost extra and were so slow and hard to move. What a lovely idea but poor execution. The snacks and ice cream also weren’t extremely expensive and the kids did have fun. My 10 and 4 kids enjoyed the pinball machines and received some cheap plastic toys. Let’s use less plastic and maybe give something else? In the end we threw those toys away. Overall the kids had fun which was most important. I did find it a little 🫠 that there was only 2 kids in line for the little robot ride and the female operator still made us get off the ride, then go back to the end of that line just to come back in. 🤡 I’m not a strict rule follower. I try to use common sense first. 😆
Jenny T — Google review
We visited the children’s amusement park last August during summer, and it was a fun and refreshing experience. The park has a small water park and a swimming pool, which were perfect for the hot weather. We got a one-day pass, but we learned that some rides still require additional payment. The roller coaster was the most popular attraction and had the longest line. The park also has a spacious food court with many choices, making it easy to grab a meal or snack. There’s also a children’s playground area, but you need to pay to enter and make sure kids wear socks. Overall, we had an enjoyable day. The variety of attractions and activities made it a good place for families to spend the summer together.
Moon M — Google review
This place is children heaven. Although I feel the rides are a bit run-down over the years. The staff is attention to details when handling excited kids. Which reflects the good training to their staffs. I felt they put safety first and not rush kids in and out of each ride. The food hall is a great place to cool off during the summer heat. Also have a big selections of food.
Ben H — Google review
If you're visiting Taipei with kids, Taipei Children's Amusement Park is a must-visit! It's perfect for a family day out. The all-day pass is incredibly affordable — just NT$200 for unlimited rides on all the main attractions, including bumper cars, a mini roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, flying swings, and more. My child especially loved the bumper cars and went on them over and over again. The park isn’t huge, but if you try each ride a few times, you can easily spend a full morning here. We arrived early, and there were almost no lines — the whole experience was smooth and enjoyable. There are a few extra-paid activities inside the park, but I wouldn’t recommend them — they weren’t very fun and didn’t feel worth the additional cost. Overall, if you’re traveling with children, this park is a wonderful, budget-friendly place to have fun — your kids will love it!

Teipai Amusement Park in Taiwan offers a fun-filled experience for families and thrill-seekers alike. With a mix of exciting rides, colorful attractions, and kid-friendly areas, it’s a great spot to spend the day. The park is well-maintained, and the staff is helpful. From roller coasters to water rides, there’s something for all age groups. It also has food stalls and souvenir shops. Weekends can be crowded, so weekdays are better for shorter lines. Overall, it’s an enjoyable destination that brings joy and adventure, perfect for creating memories with friends and family in Taipei.
Toys C — Google review
AMAZING PLACE! Not only for kids but adults can have fun here too. A lot of options for different rides. The ticket is $200NTD for unlimited rides but not all the rides are free. You get a snack with the ticket and some discount coupons.
Jolesia P — Google review
Such a great value having a day pass and no queue on weekday even though our lil one has a height limit to access some facilities but it will not make her down to fully enjoyed spinning one as majority 😂😂 What a shame that some of facilities were not available with fun pass but an extra charge, they should be reconsider for this matter. In a nutshell great place to be reconnected with your childhood.

Zhongli Night Market, located in Taoyuan County, Taiwan, is a bustling and underrated gem offering a multifaceted experience. It features stalls selling local street food, clothing, leather items, and hardware. The market is one of the largest night markets in the area and offers affordable dining options along with stalls selling trinkets and fairground-style amusement games. It's an ideal place to spend an evening and immerse yourself in Taiwanese culture.
Smaller than many of the other night markets but still has the vibe... The gua bao (bun with stew pork) is really good and so is the cheong fun ! Good stop before going to airport.
VT — Google review
We visited this night market during our stay in the area. It's about a 15-20 minute walk (around 1km) from where we were staying. The night market itself has a lively atmosphere with good energy! We noticed two main streets – one with fixed shop houses and the other side flanked by push cart vendors. with various restaurants. The food options were decent, although we found the overall quality to be average compared to other famous night markets in Taiwan. However, we highly recommend trying the Chinese dumplings served in steamer baskets. They only offer 2 flavours; Orginal or Mala. The dining experience was unique, with queue poles guiding customers and squatting stools available by the roadside for eating. If you're in the area and looking for a taste of local night market life, we recommend checking this place out.

Nice quite big night market delicious local foods milk tea and fruits has fun games also
Riza C — Google review
A little kid's paradise. Many game stalls, great variety of food, and much more spacious. The toilets also have a super big sign building so you don't have to worry about overdrinking stuff.
Estee T — Google review
This night market was about 10mins walk from our hotel and we've been here before (bout 2 years back). Back then, this whole street was more quiet and lesser stalls, guessing they're recovering after the pandemic. But now, it's more lively with more stalls and I can see there's more people (both locals and tourist).
Tan H — Google review
Not the biggest nor most popular night market. Offers quite limited variety and you see a lot more of sesame chicken, pork dishes, and other cooked food rather than snacks which is good that they have small tables behind the stalls for you to sit and eat. It's also not as accessible like others in Taipei.
Jack — Google review

Taoyuan Martyrs' Shrine and Cultural Park is a must-visit spot with its well-preserved Shinto style architecture. The shrine offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to witness the guard-changing ceremony and write wishes on wooden plaques. Although parking can be challenging, it's worth the visit as part of a day trip to Taoyuan. Additionally, nearby attractions like the Confucius temple and Hutou mountain make for a perfect day tour.
I went on Friday at 4pm. I knew the place closes at 6pm so I tried to get there as soon as possible, it is a little bit far from where I live. When I got there I was able to try the matcha pudding from one of the shops in there, it was delicious. However the shop closes at 5pm, so be sure to get there before that time. Also, the main place of the park closes at 5pm, I saw many people didn't know this since we would all think it closes at 6pm right? Many people couldn't see the main place. Small park but beautiful.

It feels like I have experienced Japan by coming to this Shrine. The architectural details of the structure is in perfect shape. Quiet and peaceful

Elegant architecture with nice and clean environment. Indeed the best-preserved shrine outside of Japan.

The shrine was nice and well maintained. Park is beautiful. Famous bean curd was good. But there's nothing much to do here. A long trip to get here but visit can be finished within 20 minutes. Too many steps. Not suitable for old pple and young kids if u dun drive.

Very beautiful Japanese style of building. Many people come here to take a photo. In front of it have market on weekends. Some particular time have guide to tell you the story of here. Easy to park at here. Good place to relax and chill.

A very cool place to visit in Taoyuan, the japanese atmosphere the place has is really unique, and the temple itself is an experience as well. During my visit on the weekend, they have a small bazaar that sells a lot of interesting items, and a good onigiri place too. They also sell a tofu pudding that’s really refreshing during the hot summer days.
Lorraine F — Google review
Im so amazed in this place in the first i didnt expect anything in this place because this is not trending but when i been there yesterday its historical and we enjoy staying there even though its a little things to do there but the place is so clean will maintain and you can feel the culture of japan.
Aila E — Google review
An interesting place to visit as it is one of the best kept Shinto style shrines outside of Japan. The architecture is magnificent and the buildings neatly restored. You can write wishes (especially couples) on little pieces of wood and hang then to ensure they come true 😉. Parking is a challenge so prepare to walk a bit. As it is not a very big place, it can become crowded quickly. A nice location to include in a day trip to Taoyuan.

This airport gets an award for the most unique gates! They all have different themes and are visually interesting, informative, and interactive. They’re separated into two parts; the ground floor waiting area complete with charging at the seats and the downstairs where you get ready to board, also with seating. I find the international terminal to be heavily focused on duty free and luxury shopping, which makes it tough to actually be convenient. When I have a layover here or am departing back home, I’m not interested in buying souvenirs or luxury goods. I’m trying to be comfortable for my flight ahead… Find things I need like cough drops or headache medicine, dried fruits and nuts, healthy snacks, mints or gum, magazines to read, etc. I would die for a 7-Eleven of Family Mart that I can actually get to from inside Termjnal 2. A lovely airport nonetheless, and as someone from the U.S., this airport beats any of them!

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport — one of the busiest airports in Asia and the main gateway to Taiwan. The airport is clean, modern, and well-organized, with friendly staff and plenty of facilities. There are lots of dining options, souvenir shops, and convenience stores like 7-Eleven available after check-in. Free Wi-Fi works well throughout the terminals. The layout is spacious and comfortable for both short stops and long layovers. Overall, a great airport experience for travelers.

Date Arrival: 24.9.2025 12.05pm Date Departure: 30.9.2025 1.05am Flight: Scoot Gate departure in Taiwan B8 Very good and smooth. The instruction for the direction also very clear. Where to collect the luguage also will display in big screen. You need to fill in arrival card online before the custom. Mostly communication in Chinese but they can communicate in English also. Departure hall in Taiwan B8 got 4 special chair, you can lie down like bed, but hard to get as people will chop the seat super early. Hope we can have more that kind of seats.

Very clean and signage was very helpful with both chinese and english. The only disadvantage is there's not American fast food eateries on airside. Most of them are available before the customs gate, including convenient stores. They do have local food available but most of them were closed by the time I cleared customs.

Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei is modern, clean, and well-organized. The terminals are spacious with clear signage and friendly staff. Fast check-in, plenty of local and international food options, and a great duty-free zone with tea and pineapple cakes. Comfortable lounges and rest areas make it ideal for transit travelers.

Clean and modern with all facilities needed for a good travel experience. The only thing I noticed is that there are no shops to buy basic travel food like chips, water and snacks. I also did not see a pharmacy in the departure terminal.

August 2024 Absolutely loved our airport experience during a layover! Everything was super clean, with clear directions and plenty of staff around to help. There’s a lot to see and explore — from a gaming area to several unique zones throughout the airport. We have access to the premium lounges thanks to American Express, and it was such a nice perk. The lounge had a good variety of food and lots of space to relax while waiting for our flight — a great way to unwind in between travel. We tried to find the Hello Kitty area, but didn’t want to risk missing our flight if it was too far, so we skipped it. We also grabbed a meal at a restaurant (didn’t catch the name) but the food was 10/10 — super tasty and affordable. One of the best layover experiences we’ve had!

Taipei is a bustling city with a variety of attractions and transportation options. Taipei Main Station serves as the central hub for high-speed rail, traditional trains, and the metro system. Visitors can easily access other parts of Taiwan from here. The station offers numerous dining options and souvenir shops, although it's worth noting that there may be homeless individuals in the vicinity.
7-11 everywhere. very good bus system food plentiful bicycles available every where and easy to take out and excellent places to ride by the river. city organised very well, facilities for people to play tennis, basketball, baseball etc. a wall to separate the river from the city to protect against possible flood. people work here, old and young. I was very impressed with Taipei.

Large station with great style and aesthetics. It's ideally located in the heart of Taipei, close to some of the busiest areas. This location provides easy access to numerous restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities.

Taipei Main Station is a large railway station that is the central hub of Taiwan and Taipei City. It is a stop for high-speed rail, medium-speed and traditional trains, and the city's metro system. Visitors can also take a train to the airport to fly back home. The station also has a large number of restaurants and souvenir shops. However, one downside is that there are often homeless people living in the area around the station, which can make it look a bit unsightly to tourists.
PHYSIC B — Google review
It is big and lots of people and or connections, but once you use it you get used to it. I suggest using ATMs outside across the street before entering if you are going the cash way. Easy Cards are easy to purchase and get refunds from the station booths. You can not use your easy pass to purchase HSR tickets. Just pay attention to signs and numbers and you will be just fine.

Nestled in the scenic Beitou District of Taipei City, the Beitou Hot Spring Museum is a charming Tudor-style structure that once served as a bathhouse during Taiwan's Japanese colonial period. This museum not only showcases the rich history of the region's hot springs but also offers insightful tours and exhibits. Visitors can explore three distinct types of hot springs found in Beitou: Simple Thermal Springs, known for their therapeutic properties; Acidic Green Alum Springs, which are effective for skin ailments; and more.
A super cool spot you gotta check out in Beitou is the Beitou Hot Spring Museum. 🫧🚿It's totally free, which is awesome, and seriously a must-do when you're in the area! 👟👠When you go in, you actually take your shoes off, which is a neat touch and makes you feel like you're stepping into something special. Since I went on a weekend, it was packed with kids, so it can get a bit lively! 🧸🪀They have some interactive stuff you can do, but you need to buy tickets for those activities inside. To be honest, most of those seemed more for the little ones anyway. 🇯🇵The whole place just feels really Japanese with its design and how it's decorated. It does a great job of showing you all the different things people used to do back when the hot springs were a huge deal. 😗Even if you don't do the paid activities, just walking around and seeing everything is really interesting. It's a great peek into the past and totally worth your time!👌

It’s a must-visit for history buffs, architecture lovers, and travelers seeking a deeper understanding of the region beyond its hot spring resorts. Best of all, entry is free — making it a rewarding and budget-friendly cultural experience in Taipei.

The museum is real interesting for an hour or so. The people who work there are lovely. It's shoes off on entry and indoor shoes are provided. Your outdoor shoes can be put in a personal locker. The displays are good and the history is really interesting. One of the guides was very happy to volunteer to take photos of us .... thankyou. The matting in the main hall was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

Free entry museum with aircon. The staff is very nice, they'll guide you around the direction to tour the museum. Quite an interesting museum to learn about the history of BeiTou and the hot spring water.

There are so much to see here in Beitou, aside from its free of entrance it's nearby the station so it's very accessible to the public. Granny's are the one in charge of the museum so it's fascinating that at their age they are very active... Also it's fun to see how they enjoy seeing tons of tourist visit the museum, it's like their little joy warms up your heart...

Very nice experience to see an ancient hot spring house. Plenty of very interesting insights into the rich culture of Beitou. And it’s for free. We went there on a Sunday in the afternoon and only had to wait 2 minutes. Super friendly staff as well.
Daniel K — Google review
Very friendly to English speakers, be prepared to take off your shoes when you come in (they have a system and helpful staff, though)! A really terrific museum. After a nearby hot spring experience, I was, admittedly, a little sceptical about what I’d actually learn here. However, what met me there was a genuinely fascinating experience, wonderfully presented and in a building that has an astonishing amount of history. It’s so rare to stand in a modern museum that feels like it truly represents and reflects the different ages of rule, differing purpose and varying occupants of its time in service. However, this wonderfully presented experience does just that. Came away completely surprised and so grateful that I came and explored Beitou proper. Make sure you buy something to support the museum (they have some adorable key chains and cool sulfur soaps)! With going out of your way for (but you won’t, it’s close to Xinbeitou Station).

Leofoo Village Theme Park is a long-standing park that offers various themed areas with thrilling rides, interactive animal shows, and even a steam train. Visitors staying at the Leofoo Resort can enjoy activities such as animal and plantation tours, African dance performances, and bird photo opportunities. The park is ideal for families looking for mild thrills and animal encounters, with highlights including the informative Train Ride showcasing herbivore animals.
Drove by decided to check out the hotel - the parking is free if you’re stopping for less than 30min beyond that it’s 200twd no matter how long you park. You can go to their viewing deck past the lobby where you can see so many animals without having to pay for the park or stay at the hotel. They also have a coffee shop / restaurant facing this courtyard zoo. A thunderstorm hit shortly after and the African band was so professional still singing even though no one other than us was there to listen to them sing. Best to plan for 3 full days here and hope that there is no rain!

This was a fun amusement park about an hour drive from Taipei. Definitely worth the special price unlimited ride day pass for non-Taiwanese (550ntd on KKday). There is also a water park that is connected, but we didn't go. We arrived at 9:30am right as the park opened and spent a full day there (until 4pm, park closes at 5 pm). It was sunny with a bit of cloud cover and about 33°c with lots of places to get out of the sun. So it was comfortable, but hot. Most of the rides were up and running and there were virtually no lines for any rides must of the day. The rides were fairly good with all the standard favorites. Tower drop, boat over a water fall, pirate ship, spinning tea cups, salt n pepper shaker, ring of fire, mini rollercoaster ect.... The one unique ride that stood out was the screaming Condor this is a mag lev powered top rail roller coaster that launches you at high speed about 7 stories in the air straight up and down on a cork srew track. Only issue was the delay between rides as the system needs time to cool down. There are several other activities including VR, small video arcade, grabmachines, and typical carnival games (no shooting gallery). The park is divided into the Arabian, south Pacific and wild west sections. There is an animal/safari section. But the safari is pretty lacking. Basically just monkeys, some typical herbivores in small pens and the carnivore bus tour was hardly worth the time. Bus driver raced around and didn't do a good job of lining the bus up for people to take pictures. Don't waste your time. Many of the restaurants and snack huts weren't open ( this was a Thursday not a holiday day). Still there was enough options to get by and we ate burgers and got some Turkish ice cream. All in all very worthy discounted price of 550ntd for the day pass. I certainly would not be willing to pay full ticket price which is around 1200 to 1600 NTD depending on your age. If you can get the discounted tickets go for it. As soon as the staff's on my white face it was a non-issue even though I was going in with some local Taiwanese we all ended up with the discounted price. We were never asked for any sort of ID but it's always a good policy to have at least a picture of your passport on your phone just in case.

A great place to spend the day! My biggest remark is the lovely sir who drives the bus. We stayed until almost 9 pm for the Halloween event and have no way to go home. He saw us waiting and kindly drive us to Taipei even though we were only three (my friend, my husband and me). So amazing to have a place that cares about its customers like this. I wish I knew the driver’s name, he definitely deserves the praise 🙏🏽 Further more the staff is overall kind and patient, the rides are fun and the animal zone is amazing I would recommend it 100% (though the haunted house was a bit too scary for me)

My wife and I had an amazing time at Leofoo theme Park. The weather was excellent, the park was much better managed than I expected, clean, organized, and very well maintained. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, and prices for ticket, food and souvenirs were reasonable. The safari experience is the greatest highlight. The train and bus rides brought us very close to the star animals like lions, tigers, zebras, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, buffalo and more. It has lesser animal than Taipei zoo for sure but I enjoyed here much more! We also loved the Monkey Skyway ride, where we could enjoy an aerial view of the monkeys and other animals at our own pace. We visited on Monday afternoon and it wasn’t crowded at all, no waiting time for most rides. The water park was closed (was told it only open in summer), but we honestly didn’t feel like we missed anything because there was already so much to enjoy. We should have arrived earlier, time flew by too quickly. Out of my 10 day trip in Taiwan, I enjoyed here the most. Thank you Leofoo for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

Leofoo Village Theme Park is one of Taiwan’s most iconic amusement destinations, located in Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County. It uniquely combines a large-scale theme park with a safari wildlife zoo, making it a standout attraction for families, thrill-seekers, and animal lovers alike. Key Features Four Themed Areas: The park is divided into four main zones, each with its own immersive environment: Wild West: Experience the American frontier with classic western architecture, live shows, and the park’s most famous ride, the Screaming Condor—an inverted shuttle roller coaster that launches riders at high speed. Other attractions include the Grand Canyon Rapids and themed dining options like steakhouses and burger joints. African Safari: This section doubles as Taiwan’s largest open-range safari, home to around 70 species and nearly 1,000 animals, including rare white tigers, lions, zebras, and baboons. Visitors can tour the safari by train (Nairobi Express) or bus for close-up animal encounters. South Pacific: A tropical-themed area with water rides, thrill rides, and vibrant scenery. The log flume and drop tower are major highlights. Arabian Palace: Step into a magical, adventure-filled world inspired by Arabian tales, featuring rides like the Sultan’s Adventure and the Flying Horse monorail. Safari Experience: Leofoo Village is renowned for its safari park, where guests can observe animals in spacious, naturalistic habitats—an experience unique among Taiwan’s amusement parks. Family-Friendly Attractions: The park offers over 30 rides and attractions, catering to all ages—from adrenaline-pumping roller coasters to gentle rides and interactive animal experiences. Dining and Amenities: Multiple themed restaurants and food stalls are available throughout the park, with options ranging from Western-style meals to local snacks. Facilities are family-friendly, with clean restrooms and stroller access. Accessibility: Leofoo Village is an easy day trip from Taipei and offers enough activities to fill a full day, or even a weekend if you stay at the adjacent safari hotel or visit the waterpark. Visitor Tips Arrive early to make the most of your visit, as the park closes around 5 PM and some food stalls may close earlier. Bring water and snacks, as there are no free water stations, though bottled water is available for purchase. Check the show schedule upon arrival to catch live performances and water fountain shows. Dress appropriately for the season—winters can be chilly and windy. Leofoo Village Theme Park remains a classic and must-visit destination for anyone traveling in Taiwan, offering a blend of amusement park thrills and up-close wildlife encounters that appeal to all ages.

Thermal Valley, located in Taipei, is a famous and picturesque destination known for its steaming sulfur hot springs. Although it may be tempting to take a dip in the green-tinted waters, visitors are not allowed to do so due to the high temperature and level of sulfur present. This valley is one of the suppliers of local hot springs, with rocks containing radium, making it unique globally.
Great place. A bit warm there but it is beautiful to take a look on that thermal valley. Be aware, the thermal valley is very short, so you probably will spend here at most half an hour. The area around is also beautiful

Great natural beauty. Best visit in the week cause it can get very busy at weekends. Also gets real hot in summer near the wood fence areas. Also don’t do what I saw somebody do and leave your mi pile on those wood fences for tool long cause the case can melt or the phone overheat. Anyway beautiful place and outside there is even a place to wash your hands in the thermal water. Nearby there’s many hoping hotels too

Beitou Thermal Valley, aka Hell Valley, is one of the hot spring sources in Beitou, Taiwan. While it is open daily to the public completely free of charge from 9am to 6pm, it is closed on Mondays. There is a mini hands-only hot spring pool, in the shape of Taiwan, at the entrance. Don’t be shy, just dip your hands in to feel the natural green sulfur, which is said to be good for one’s health and skin. Visitors can walk along the path surrounding the valley to enjoy the breathtaking view of the green sulfur hot spring. The walk is around 15-20 minutes long and relatively flat. Be careful, the turquoise pool is steaming hot! This is a place not to miss for anyone who visits Beitou!

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Creative Park, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The entire area was alive with energy — filled with laughter, music, and the vibrant buzz of people exploring the many activities happening around. Everywhere you turned, there was something interesting to see or do, from art exhibitions and creative workshops to small pop-up performances that added a joyful atmosphere to the park. What made the experience even more special were the permanent stores scattered around the area. They offered a charming selection of handmade crafts, souvenirs, and locally produced goods that showcased Taiwan’s unique artistry and creativity. The food stalls were equally delightful, serving a variety of local Taiwanese treats and snacks that were both authentic and delicious. The open spaces made it a perfect spot for families as well. Children could run freely across the green fields, play safely, and enjoy the lively surroundings while parents relaxed nearby. The Creative Park truly blends culture, creativity, and leisure into one inviting space. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the artistic spirit of Taiwan in a fun, family-friendly environment.

The Modern Toilet Restaurant in Taipei, with its flagship branch located in Ximending and another branch in nearby Shilin, offers a unique dining experience like no other. Diners sit on toilet bowls while enjoying their meals, which are served in toilet-themed dishes. The restaurant is known for its quirky and humorous atmosphere, where guests can drink beer from imitation bedpans and indulge in poo-themed ice cream.
A must-visit quirky dining spot in Taiwan! Modern Toilet is not just a restaurant, it’s an experience. From the interiors to the presentation, everything leans into the playful bathroom theme—and it works! We ordered: - Modern Toilet Chicken Curry (300) – surprisingly hearty and flavorful, served in their iconic toilet-shaped bowl. - Constipation Black Stool Chocolate Poop Pancake (270) – rich, chocolatey, and fun to look at (and eat). - Modern Toilet Bread – Choco & Garlic (170) - Swirly Poop Ice Cream (120) – the perfect silly-but-sweet dessert. - Modern Toilet Bubble Milk Tea Urinal (250) – served in a urinal, and yes, I brought it home as a souvenir! Food was tasty, portions were just right, and the whimsical theme made the whole dining experience memorable. If you’re visiting Taiwan, don’t miss this one-of-a-kind restaurant—it’s equal parts delicious and hilarious.
Pat D — Google review
To be honest the food was really not good but the restaurant is fun. The theme is original but you only pay for the concept not for the food. If you want to have a fun time with your family then it’s a good choice. But do not come for the food because it is clearly low quality. I had the Thai curry and it was so dry I had to ask for more sauce that came too watery as curry is supposed to be a thick sauce. Very disappointed on the food. Fun place to eat to have a laugh though. The 5 stars reviews are to get free bread do not get fooled.
Florian S — Google review
A bit pricey for the taste, so you're mostly paying for the theme which is pretty unique. The crew are awesome and super easy to talk to. The food tastes okay, nothing special but also do not disappoint. It was okay. But I gotta give it to them for really committing to the theme, from the menu to how the dishes are presented. Definitely worth trying at least once for the experience.

With so much delicious food in Taiwan ($3-$4 USD flavorful, delicious meals everywhere), this is an easy pass. Eating out of a toilet bowl and having poop-inspired food is hilarious for 10 minutes. Then you taste the food, and realize for $10-$20 USD per person, this is not worth it at all. Go only if you want the novelty and photos.
Alex G — Google review
It's a must try for the novelty and for photos. Food is borderline disgusting (no, not due to the theme), honestly. The urinal bubble tea was good. Toilet hotpot was decent. The poop pancake was hard and old, and not edible! The poop meatballs were not good at all.

MAJI Square is a bustling food hub located in Zhonghan District No.1, Yumen Street, near the Yuanshan MRT station. It's not just a single restaurant but a versatile public space that offers fast-food and sit-down eateries, as well as a supermarket, kids' center, and event space. The northern end features an outdoor performance area that transforms into a farmers market on weekends, while the southern end boasts several quality restaurants surrounding an open-air dining area.
Great spot for a drink loads of cool places. DJ playing creates a great vibe The Brazilian corner really good food, great beef. The pizza shop was really good bit expensive but really good.

Came here on the recommendation of the doorman at my hotel, was perfect stop after Taipei Fine Arts Museum as it’s just across the street. I went on a Saturday, so there were both the permanent stalls as well as a farmers market, which made for two adventures in one spot! I just followed the lead of the locals and found myself at a stall selling the best shrimp wonton soup I’ve had here, then roamed the market to buy some snack and drinks. Tons of families here and a nice mixing of locals and tourists.

I stumbled upon this place by pure luck! The vibe is amazing, and there's tons of food to choose from thanks to all the street vendors. I went over the weekends, which is probably why there are so many stalls for me to check out. It's super chill and relaxing..

Very festive environment with multiple restaurants, bars and music venues. There's even a night club. The place is usually busy by 9PM

There is a decent international food court (covered, but not air conditioned) here, and the food is decent and not over priced. There are also a number of restaurants (international) and other shops and weekend stalls here as well. It's definitely worth a visit. There is also live music from time to time. The main downside is that many of the food court stalls are unoccupied and not all the shops and food court stalls are open on weekdays. The food court seating could be improved - the tables are a bit oversized with a lack of chairs/seats, and can get crowded. And of course, without air conditioning, it can still get hot.

We attended the JD BBQ Festival 2023 and it was fun. Food was great, drink was flowing, music was loud, met some new people and had ourselves a great time. Lots of foreigners here, lots of bars and restaurants to eat and enjoy. Also lots of cosplayers walking around showing off their fancy costumes. It is definitely an interesting place to visit on the weekend.

The Land Bank Exhibition Hall of National Taiwan Museum is a unique outpost showcasing dinosaur remains and indigenous mammal skeletons. Housed in a former 1930s bank, the museum explores the evolution of life, money, banking, and the bank itself from the Japanese colonial era to modern Taipei. The exhibits are well-presented and detailed, featuring soaring sauropod fossils and an open bank vault. A highlight for kids is the complete skeleton of a brachiosaurus in the atrium.
Recommended museum to visit if you don't know what to visit in Taipei. I went here when I first lived in Taipei and I didn't regret it even though it's more like a children's museum (for the Dinosaur museum). It's 2 museums in 1 building, Land Bank & Dinosaur museum. The interior is very nice and they have a lot of interactive stuff there. The location is also very strategic, close to MRT Station & other museum and landmarks. They offer package tickets for the National Museum across the street.
Felita G — Google review
I personally enjoyed this more than the Taiwan National Museum. The combination is unique, the history of the Land Bank of Taiwan and Natural History. Takes about 45 minutes to go through the whole museum, it's not a big one. But they did well with the space, honoring both the building and nature.
Danielle B — Google review
Small but inspiring. Love how this compact space is thoroughly designed and filled with little excitements. The lighting design looks splendid and small interactive points are lovely.
Kevalin S — Google review
We really enjoyed visiting this museum!! Entering the main hall with the dino fossils displayed was really amazing and I loved the way you are guided through the story of the exhibit. I even liked the design of the lockers when you first walk in, the whole building is lovely to visit just for the aesthetic and architecture even outside of the fantastic exhibits. This building is part of the National Taiwan Museum, so when you buy a ticket at the main building you can use it for both! They are right across the street from each other. Genuinely a great, fun and educational way to spend 30-60mins for both adults and kids. All explanations of the exhibits are in both English and Mandarin.

Gotta come here if you're interested in fossils. The museum is really cool with amazing replicas of big dinosaurs! Not only that, they actually have some real dinosaur fossils as well. I was fascinated by the museum layout and how it's packed with cool stuff. There are also exhibitions of prehistoric animal fossils. I especially liked the mammoth fossil—it's an almost complete fossil of a woolly mammoth. The ticket is the same as for the National Taiwan Museum; you just need to go to the building across the crosswalk.

Great musuem in the park area! 3 levels of mixed dinosaurs and the history of the bank. Enjoyed learning the history of he building and prehistoric animals. Musuem gift shop is 2 floors! You can use your train card to pay the admission.

Visit this museum together with the ticket bought for National Taiwan Musuem. This was used to be bank with vault showing how gold, and other expensive items etc were stored in the bank. Also photos of old currencies notes from olden days trade till japanese occupation period. Apart from these, there’s a dinosaur exhibition within the same building, really a nice cooling place to hangout during the summer heat! It’s a bonus after visiting National Taiwan Museum.

The Taipei Astronomical Museum is a popular destination for space enthusiasts and families alike. Visitors can explore the wonders of the universe through educational exhibits, interactive facilities, and a viewing telescope. The museum also features an IMAX dome theater and a restaurant for visitors to enjoy. It has taken over the responsibilities of its predecessor, the Taipei City Observatory, and boasts an avant-garde design concept symbolizing the immensity and profundity of space.
One of the best museums I have been to. Great for both adults and especially children. The tickets are a bang for your buck for what is on offer. We paid $10 AUD on the day (purchase tickets from the machine on the left once you enter) to have access to the main exhibition, the dome theater (which has the comfiest seats) and the must-do space ride. Re-learning the physics involved was really helpful and the museum’s portrayal of extra terrestrial life is certainly interesting. Keep up the great work and maintaining the facilities!

The Taipei Astronomical Museum is a great museum to explore, I learned a lot. Inside are a lot of educational and interactive installations to play with. Suitable for kids. The entrance to the museum is cheap. You can also use easycard to enter. There is also a 3D movie theater showcasing different movies such as a Trex dinosaur movie and movie about our solar system. For internationals they have audio devices to listen to subtitles in different languages. The museum has 4 floors. If you visit everything, you can spend the whole day here. The museum also has a shop where you can buy gifts, stones, fossils and many other goodies. During the week it is not busy. In the weekend it can be very busy with schoolkids. There is no food in the museum.

Wonderful place. We love it! To see it in full, I suggests to spend one whole day in there with no kids under 7 years old. Smallest children easily get bored on the second floor. It's so interesting, and the lighting is top-notc. The tickets are cheap, we bought them on the counter for just 1 minute. It was Sunday, It was not overcrowded. Highly recommend it.

We visited on a rainy day and ended up having such a great time! The exhibits were fascinating and full of interesting facts about the universe, planets, and space exploration. You really do learn something new at every corner. We only went to the Exhibit Hall and tried the Cosmic Adventure ride, which was a slow, story-driven experience about aliens and meteors that kids will enjoy.
Patricia C — Google review
It was like a mini field trip for my kiddos. They enjoyed the interactive exhibit which was for free. Wish we also visited the science museum and children's park nearby but they weren't part of our itinerary that day. The toilet here is clean and the gallery was cool with airconditioning. The Taiwanese people here were very helpful and the auntie who welcomed us speaks English well. You have the option to watch documentaries but with a fee ranging from 100-150NTD.

It was a fun experience since I’m quite a nerdy guy about space stuff. Bought the ticket on Klook and just need to show my QR Code then voila. They have 3 floors and all of them are fun and giving me more knowledge. The extra ride was fun as well. But if you have a vertigo might not be so fun since the ride almost full of spinning.

The shopping complex is situated near Vince Cinemas and it is approximately 2km apart from Zhongli Station but it is well connected to public transportation. The shopping complex is center to big and local brands such as Apple, Adidas, Pandora and many more. It has good restaurants and stores such as cosmetics, jewelry and personal accessories shops. The shopping complex has approximately 10 floors and each floor has different themes. It has lift and elevator and on every floor it has restrooms. They also have free public WiFi but the space between two stores or shop is not enough and that make it crowded during weekends which results in mismanagement.

Xpark Aquarium, located in Taoyuan, Taiwan, is a state-of-the-art attraction that opened in 2020. It features a diverse range of marine life and modern facilities with large glass panels for stunning views. The aquarium includes a jellyfish tank, penguin exhibit, and an artificial tidal pool. It's highly recommended for families traveling with children as there are various activities tailored for kids. The location at Gloria outlets beside the landmark plaza makes it convenient to visit while shopping.
Very interesting and fun place to spend around half day, worth of visiting to the price there are different types of fish species, kids will definitely love this place, and the xkunfu show was amazing the seal stole the show with its tricks and play. Must recommend place worth visiting! 🐠🐬🦭🤩

Good for one time visit if you haven't seen it before in Taiwan. I guess Xpark tried their best, just hard to not have second thoughts if you have been to larger aquarium that have a riche setup around the world. Having said that it's situated next to the Gloria Premium Outlets which makes the trip more enriching when you double up with some shopping too 😃
Alvin L — Google review
Xpark was such a great experience! It’s not just an aquarium but also a place full of information, interactive displays, and endless opportunities for photos and videos. Everywhere you go, there’s something eye-catching, whether it’s the tanks with vibrant marine life or the unique design of the spaces. One of the best things I really appreciated is that if your scheduled show isn’t starting for a while, you can actually stamp your hand and leave the venue to explore the building, then come back later. That made the visit feel so flexible and convenient, especially since we didn’t have to just sit around waiting. We managed to catch the seal show, which was fun and entertaining, but the absolute highlight for me was definitely the penguins! Watching them up close was such a joyful experience, they were adorable and so full of energy. Overall, Xpark is a perfect mix of learning, fun, and relaxation. Whether you’re there for the shows, the marine life, or just the aesthetic photo and video spots, it’s a memorable place to visit. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking for something special to do in Taiwan!
Tenzin L — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Aquarium Experience in Taoyuan, Taiwan! I was so impressed with the state-of-the-art technology and care that went into creating XPark Aquarium. Even though it’s not huge, every section was fascinating and beautifully designed. The attention to detail kept me intrigued from start to finish. They even offer an app (Linné Lense) for visitors who don’t speak Chinese — it identifies the species of fish you see in real time. Loved that feature! This aquarium has something for every age group. There’s a whole interactive area for families with kids, an outdoor animal section, and a play area too. Some highlights for me: 🐠 The two-level aquarium with sharks, sting rays, and an amazing variety of fish — plus a scuba diver feeding show that was mesmerizing. ⭐️ The starfish display — I rarely see these at other aquariums and it brought back childhood memories. The colors were not how I remember them! 🐸 The Surinam toad exhibit was fascinating (and a little wild!) with fun facts about how they give birth through their backs. 🦭 The spotted seals were playful and photogenic — I could have watched them for hours. 💡 The diaphonized fish lighting display above was stunning! (Tip: don’t try to buy them as souvenirs — they can’t travel through customs.) ✨ The jellyfish room was pure magic — especially the “fried egg jellyfish” and the incredible light show. 🐧 And the penguins! Watching them waddle, slide, and swim through tunnels visible from the café below was so entertaining - great while having a refreshing treat! XPark Aquarium is interactive, educational, and simply beautiful. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, it’s absolutely worth a visit! It is also very inexpensive to visit. I was there a little over two hours and could have stayed longer. (I didn't visit the animals outside or play area).
Pam J — Google review
I visited this aquarium near Gloria Outlet before heading to the airport, and it turned out to be a really nice stop. The place isn’t very large, but it’s well organized and easy to explore. You can comfortably walk through all the exhibits in about two to three hours, which makes it a good short trip before a flight or shopping nearby. Inside, there are many kinds of sea creatures on display — from colorful tropical fish, penguins, and jellyfish, to larger marine animals like crabs and different species of deep-sea fish. Each section has clear glass tanks and good lighting, which makes it easy to see and take photos. I especially enjoyed the jellyfish area with the glowing lights and calm atmosphere. The environment felt clean and well maintained. It wasn’t too crowded when I visited, so I could take my time looking at each tank. There are also a few small shops and snack areas near the exit if you want to buy souvenirs or grab a quick bite. Overall, it’s a nice and relaxing aquarium to visit near Gloria Outlet. It’s not huge like some others, but it’s enjoyable, easy to reach, and perfect for spending a couple of hours before heading to the airport.
C B — Google review
I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowds. We went on a Monday afternoon before our departure from Taipei. It is only about 30 minutes from Taipei Airport, making it a convenient stop before leaving the country. The sea animals are very friendly, especially the penguins, seals, and stingrays, which often swim right up to the glass to interact with visitors. The jellyfish area is impressive, featuring advanced lighting technology that gives it a teamLab-like atmosphere. There are plenty of great photo spots throughout. Judging by the numerous queue signs, weekends are likely quite busy, but it was calm and quiet on a weekday, so that is definitely the best time to visit.
K H — Google review
Xpark is an aquarium just a few minutes walk from the train station. It's located near a shopping centre and food pavilion which is convenient. We booked our tickets on klook and had no wait time. The aquarium here had a large focus on visuals. There will be large tanks with various species of fish mixed together that focus tends to be more about all the fish together as opposed to individual species, which is fine, good even. The penguins were one of the highlights for me and the way the aquarium has the walkway interact with the different enclosures was very well done. You'll often walk underneath different enclosures and even the cafe has an area that the penguins can swim into (the cafe was below the penguin area). Neat things like that. There were a tank I distinctly remember for having a very high height which looked great for photos. There was a short sea lion show that runs about every 2 ish hours which was interesting but runs for about 15 minutes. Also they will only speak Mandarin so you may feel left out as a tourist unfortunately. There was quite good information for those that like to read, primarily in Chinese though but google lens will help you there. There was also background music playing throughout the whole thing which is kinda hard to describe it uh.. invoked curiosity I suppose lol. I thought it added to the experience in a good way. We went during the weekdays and it was moderately busy, if there were more people it may become a little crowded so probably best to go on a weekday. Quite the thematic experience and very enjoyable. You in Taipei and like aquariums? This is it.
Brandon N — Google review
This mini aquarium is great for anyone that hasn't been to bigger aquariums. The animals are cute, the jellyfish area is really pretty and that the re-entry uv stamp is pretty cool. The only concern I had was seeing that the tank with manta rays had a lot of them with open wounds. I hope it's not because of territorial stress.

Museum
If you're planning a trip to Taiwan, make sure to include the Taiwan High Speed Rail Museum in your itinerary! Conveniently located near the Airport MRT and HSR station, this museum offers an insightful glimpse into the construction and operation of Taiwan's impressive high-speed rail system. However, be aware that entry requires prior online reservations—so don’t forget to book ahead! Once inside, you can explore engaging displays that showcase the technology behind the trains.
🚄Reservations must be made in advance. Various knowledge about Taiwan’s high-speed rail is suitable for families and children to go together. Stay time 1-2 hours👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
PACA C — Google review
The best part is — you don’t need to buy tickets! But you do have to make an online reservation at least a week in advance. If you need to cancel, just make sure to do it before 8AM on the day of your visit. Inside, you’ll find displays about the history of the high-speed rail, past chairmen, and even some train car models. The highlight for kids is definitely the driving simulator, where they can step into the cockpit and experience what it’s like to be a train driver 🚄. If you take your time, the whole visit lasts about 40–50 minutes. But if you just browse through quickly, you can wrap it up in under half an hour. Honestly, it’s one of those “been there, done that” kind of places — nice to see once, but probably not somewhere you’d go back again.

This place over how the Taiwan High Speed Rail was built. They have simulator and miniature that run every 30 minutes. To go here you need to reserve in advance and no need to pay for ticket. They give you one hour to visit the museum. Just exchange your ID with the pass card in the security office and it will be returned later after you finish the visit. They have a maximum number of people enter this place but I don’t know how many. When I came here I brought 20 people in total. It includes adult, kids, and baby

Pushin Ranch is a vast and family-friendly destination where visitors can get up close and personal with various animals such as cows, rabbits, alpacas, deer, capybaras, horses, goats, sheep, Koi fish and more. The ranch offers the opportunity to purchase passes to enter animal pens for feeding experiences. In addition to the animal area, Pushin Ranch also features a pond, camping and BBQ areas.
Wonderful place for kids to have close interaction with cute animals. It is a big place to walk around. There is a Japanese theme garden, with a lake. There is also a garden for picnic. There are rabbits, raccoons, alpacas, capybara, goats, deer, kangaroos, chicks, ducks, pheasants, cows, pigs, pony, donkey, and peacocks. One of the shows was the animal race, pigs race and goats race, we thoroughly enjoyed that.

Nice place to spend your holiday or your weekend. Need to pay for the entrance fee, for an adult 200 NTD, and the kids below 5 years old free entrance. Bring some picnic mat you can have a picnic inside the PUSHIN RANCH. There a lot of animals you can see like Iguana, snake, capybara, alpaca, goat, cow, sheep, kanggaroo, chicken, peacock, rabbit, and etc.

Lots of fun for toddlers- my daughter loved the cabybaras, but petted all the animals she could reach! Plus you can get a coffee and ice cream there. The staff was super friendly and there were some cute activities throughout the day, like cow milking:).

Super recommended to everyone! Even better than Taipei zoo because of the great interactive experiences! Watched the pigs and goat race each other and even milked the cows! They also allow you to buy food to feed the animals! Super cool and first time getting so close to alpaca, capybara, goat, pigs, karangoons and many more! Super cute and entertaining!!

The place is really big and nice however, I think they can take better care of the animals and their habitats. They have nice activities you can enjoy and a lot of spots to take pictures, try to come with good company (not like me).

Public transportation is estimated every 40-50mins for bus722. There are 2 engagements slot, one in the Morning (10am) and one in the afternoon (3pm). Afternoon may be a little hot for toddlers. If traveling without kids, recommend to arrive around 1pm. Tickets 🎫 does not include the food snacks, will need to pay NT50 per pax. After which you will go to a small confine space to get up close to animals, followed by a special race event of pigs/goat where lucky winner able to get a free ice cream. Few reptiles to view before entering the confined space. After that can take a rest and enjoy the cafeteria before playing the race event. All can be done within 2 to 3 hours. There is alot of other space to explore in the farm but without animals interaction. You may want to rent ATV to travel around the farm if you like.

Quite a nice ranch to visit. The highlight for us with young kids was that they were able to feed the animals, like capybaras, goats, alpacas, etc. Happy to go in during the milking time too at 3pm which was great!

Dadaocheng Wharf Container Market is a vibrant open-air market located in the Datong district of Taipei. It features street food stalls housed in shipping containers, offering a mix of local and international cuisine along with various beverage options. The market also hosts live performances including music and dance shows, adding to the lively atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque pier adorned with a prominent sailboat model while being entertained by singers and taking leisurely strolls along the waterfront.
Gorgeous view on the River and the city. I biked here, there is also very nice biking trail along the river. Amazing place to have a nice chill evening or party time. Great amount of beverages and foods for reasonable price. Highly recommend trying! :)

Pier 5 is a perfect spot to enjoy the Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival. The riverside view is amazing, and the atmosphere feels festive with food stalls, music, and people gathering together. The fireworks are absolutely beautiful, though the area gets very crowded, so it’s best to arrive early. A must-visit if you’re in Taipei during the festival season.

Walk here during sunset and you’ll find families exercising, people walking their dogs, and beautiful sunsets. The food didn’t interest us much, but there’s a selection of beers and western/asian food. There’s a seating area where you can sit and eat while enjoying the sunset.

There’s a bike rental spot in a scenic area that’s perfect for watching the sunset. There are shops selling draft beer and food, and you can sit on the second floor of a container-style restaurant to enjoy a beer while taking in the sunset view.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dadaocheng Wharf is a must-visit for me every time I’m in Taipei. It’s honestly one of my favourite spots to chill, hang out, or just enjoy a beer with friends. Super touristy, but I’m mainly here for the vibes. There are tons of food options (a little overpriced, but again… vibes 😂). I love grabbing a seat on the second floor of the containers, watching the sunset over the Keelung River with an ice-cold draft beer in hand. Pure bliss. It does get a bit noisy after 8:30pm, but I don’t mind too much — the energy is part of the charm. And the best part? They sell jumbo beers… which is basically happiness in a cup for me 🍻. Always a highlight of my Taipei trips ❤️

Since 2021 (I learned about it at the Tea Museum), there's been a food truck market in Dadaocheng District. Here, you can buy snacks from various food trucks while watching the sunset on the Tamsui River. Beer and various other drinks are also available. You can sit either directly on the trucks or at tables right on the riverbank. It's more expensive than a night market, but the great location is worth it.

The Taoyuan Calla Lily Festival is a must-visit event located in Yilan, accessible via Highway 7A. The festival offers a stunning display of colorful calla lilies, including unique varieties not commonly seen. Visitors can enjoy the free event and explore the well-maintained fields of calla lilies, perfect for capturing amazing photo opportunities.
Calla Lillies were so colorful, usually I only see white ones. Some people are lamenting how the flowers have gotten more sparse, but it's a free event. No admission fee. Great organizers. There were calla lilly doll figurines on display. We took a QR survey for these cute Calla lilly doll stickers. There were stands with students selling vegetables and a couple more across the street. They had a huge parking lot reserved for the event. You can park there and then take the shuttle to the fair grounds. We were waiting for the shuttle but decided it would take a long time round trip so we decided to try our luck driving because the volunteer told us there might be parking on those muddy side streets. Luckily not too many people were there so we managed to find a spot. We were there for about an hour.

You can’t go in to take photos with the statues, and the parking lot, the size of a football field, is being completely redone, and looks like the work has just started in july 2023. You can walk around the outside of the park, but if you want to park a car you must find some space on the roadside about a 15 minute walk away. It represents the most political correct transformation justice issue in Taiwan. After decades of reflections, the Taiwanese finally realized the propaganda by the KMT and decided not to keep all the hundreds if not thousands of statues of the renegade leader from China. Very nice experience in a quiet farm. They got all kinds of animals (sheep, goat, alpaca, capybara, chicken, duck, peacock and a few others) that allows for petting and feeding with the hay bought from them. The animals are usually inside enclosures with low walls so it's easy to interact with them, and some of them even come out to roam together with us on the pedestrian walkway.
R K — Google review
It's a quite small place where you have the opportunity to buy food to feed a few of their animals. Doesn't have many parking spots for scooters, but plenty for cars. There are also toilets and a store full of vintage toys for kids and drinks too. The entrance was 60 nt which 30 nt could be used to exchange for something at their store before 4:30pm, if I'm not mistaken.
Suelen T — Google review
Personally, I have mixed feelings about this place. It's a small little establishment that's great for kids to feed animals like goats, alpacas, sheep, ducks, guinea pigs, and even porcupines. But the mixed feeling comes in because this place also serves goat meat. The idea of feeding the animals and then eating them all at the same time is disturbing. Perhaps it's because I'm vegetarian, but I think it just seems far too insensitive.
Daniel L — Google review
Not a large area and quite old but has a good range of different animals (goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, ducks, capybara, porcupines, Guinea pigs, terrapins, alpacas, pigs, peafowl etc). 100NTD per adult and kids of primary school age onwards for admission. One bundle of grass is 30NTD. Don’t bother with the pellets - rabbits weren’t interested, the single marmot that i think it was intended for seemed quite overweight already. Has a coin operated train for kids at 50NTD for one round around the track (about 3-4 minutes). Some coin operated arcade games/rides. And 3 slides. Recommend to drive/take taxi. We attempted to walk from the nearest MRT station - no proper walking path. Had to walk on the 1-2 lane road alongside vehicles. We spent about an hour there.

The Kuo Yuan Ye Museum of Cake and Pastry offers a fascinating journey into the world of Taiwanese baking. Visitors can explore the history and art of cake and pastry making in Taiwan through historical exhibits, tastings, and hands-on activities like make-your-own sessions. It's a great place for families with kids or tourist groups, offering classes like pineapple cake making and cookie decorating.
This was an amazing experience for kids and adults alike and a great way to spend the day on a hot summer day. We took our kids here and signed up for the pineapple cake cooking class (11 am) and the shaking zoo animals cookie class (1 pm) We went a nice quiet summer Monday morning and there it was nice and quiet and not crowded at all. I do suggest calling in advance (Chinese speaker needed) to book the reservation directly with the museum. We got to the museum ahead of our 11 am class and had time to explore the exhibits and interactive kids (2nd floor), with puzzles, ring toss and some other small kids stations. The cooking classes were really great and fun, it was really nice to be able to make something, especially a traditional Taiwanese dessert (pineapple cake) with the family. It was all in Chinese so a little difficult for non-Chinese speakers but they do show you how to do each step carefully. Once the baked goods were in the oven you had more time to explore or eat a light snack at their cafe, which only served breads and a few different types of toast (we got the peanut butter toast, ham and pineapple and tuna) and kk were delicious. After the pineapple cakes were done baking they showed us how to package and even got to try one fresh from the oven which was so GOOD! Crispy and buttery outside with a nice chewy pineapple filling. The kids also really like the cookie making class. We did spend the whole day there (10-4 pm) between the classes and wait time for baking and decorating. Another bonus, the nominal entrance tickets prices can be used as “coupons” for gift shop purchases - which they had a great variety of boxed baked goods gifts to purchase and sample. All in all, definitely a highly recommended activity that I feel was I would definitely suggest friends and family to do, also very cost efficient and a beautifully setup and clean museum. Would definitely go back!

A really good place to bring little kids and/or a tourist group. I visited the place with a group of teenagers, young adults, and elderly people, they all love the pineapple cake class and the employees. The employee took care of us from the get go, from the moment you step out from the bus until you return. They also stick with the time schedule really well and gave the group thorough explanation about the factory itself and the overall history. We were also presented a short movie, an adorable one, and the children simply loved it. The class itself was well-prepared and every person got to keep 6 pieces of delicious pineapple cakes to bring back home. They also gave us a $50 vouchers to spend at the gift shop with no minimum purchase, which was adored by the young adults. Inside the museum, near the gift shop, they have a seating area with a coffee shop that sells pastries, breads, and beverages, perfect to relax for a bit before going back home. The parking area for the bus is easily accessible with an elevator, the parking area for cars and/or motorcycles are right outside the entrance door, quite spacious as well. If you are unsure about the information or activities, simply visit their website. They have thorough information over there. You can also call and the employees are all very helpful and insightful.
Lorraine F — Google review
The entrance fee is NT50 per person and the ticket is a NT50 voucher that can be used to purchase their products (no minimum spend but the cheapest item is NT55), so essentially free entry and you get to bring home something. The guided tour is free of charge and they do it only twice a day, at 10am and 230pm. They also have a series of DIY workshops onsite, ranging from cookies to pineapple tarts and the fees ranges accordingly. Schedule changes monthly (eg Oct they had Halloween Cookie workshop) and is available on their FB page. The main building itself has a display area of their history, their sustainability green label journey and the history of cookies. It ends with an interactive area on L2 where there are throwing-hoop games and puzzles. With every completed puzzle that you post on FB, you get to redeem a free cookie at their counter. The guided tour is for the 糕饼文化馆 on L2 in an adjacent building, where the staff takes us on a quick journey of how traditional cakes and biscuits are used in celebrating key events of our lives from a 3-day old baby to the wedding day. Leaving the museum was a pain though. Turned out the Sightseeing Bus doesn't come regularly, when I left at about 1pm, the next bus is only coming at 4.20pm! So I had to walk 33 mins to the train station. I would have paid for a cab, except there weren't any. The museum is located quite far in, and the surrounding are all industrial factories / car workshops.

Horrible experience: many homeless everywhere, one of them screamed at the top of his lungs at anything and everything, throwing metal objects at people, threatening everyone, hunted some passerby even. No police came, no cleanup, no public safety. No one called the police, because it probably is like this all day every day. Do not go there, especially not after dark! In other areas of the park there's homeless everywhere, too, using every roof as shelter. It's surprisingly clean despite all that, but you can hear the angry screams of the madman in every corner of the park. Horrible. No less than half the park is closed for construction anyway.

Good place for refreshing. The air is good. There are restrooms, some chairs, and gazebo. Some basket ball fields are also provided. You don't need to pay to visit this place. To go to this park, you can walk and it takes some minutes, and I think it's not too far.

Great park. City oasis. Many basketball courts. Ubike sites. City library. Many activities.

It’s nice to walk in Zhongzheng Park at night! You’ll see many people playing basketball at there, they’re always welcome you to join them. BTW it’s a great location where you can picnic with family members and friends on weekends. Also there’re many events hold on weekends too! Make sure to visit when you’re in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Taiwan.

Nestled within the lush greenery of HuTou Shan, 奧爾森林學堂 offers a delightful escape for families seeking adventure and connection with nature. This enchanting forest school features whimsical treehouses, canopy walkways, and engaging treetop classes that spark curiosity in young minds. The playground is a highlight, providing shaded areas filled with various fun activities for children to explore. Parents can enjoy watching their little ones zoom through slides while surrounded by the serene beauty of the park.
Nice playground... I like that it was shaded and different areas of fun for the kids. We actually started at the park entrance of HuTou Shan and “hiked” along the path/stairs to get to this playground area. It’s relatively easy “hike” as my 3 and 5 year old zoomed through it. I liked that we were surrounded by nature and it’s a good place to get the kids running around for some exercise. There’s bathroom onsite as well as vending machines for drinks

It's an excellent park full of nature. It's well-managed. Besides the theme designs and ample playgrounds, it provides drinking machines and clean toilets (children friendly). So if you got a chance to visit, help out pick up some trash left by the less educated. Help keep this rare park.

A suitable playground for kids. Parents and children always have a lot of fun here. It is always crowded and full of joy especially on weekends or holidays. Several different kinds of sliding boards are prepared for kids to explore. It is necessary to pay attention to kids’ safety when they are playing those devices. Hutoushan and Samshin temple are nearby. It is actually a nice spot to spend spare time for your whole family.

Nice park especially during the summer time, great place for young children to have fun.

Like the boardwalks and treehouses, don’t like the stainless structures!
CP S — Google review
Many, many people, especially on weekends and the hiking trails are built with to much concrete for my taste, but it is nonetheless a pretty nice area for a walk. There are also some huge playgrounds.

Creekside space with basketball courts, a cricket pitch & a skatepark, plus an adventure playground.
Excellent park to unwind yourself and with so much of equipments to play, kids also can enjoy a lot. Very well maintained park. Also having basket ball covered stadium.

This is a large park with a good playground. The sandpit is big, there’s a great rock climbing area, a pirate ship, a gym area etc. The swings are too small and only suitable for very young children. The toilets could be cleaner. Unfortunately there are some dog owners who allow their dogs to run around the play area and pee everywhere. My photos were taken at night. My review refers to day time.

[17.05.24] Cosy and cute with a charming atmosphere. The view from the bridge is fantastic at night, with the buildings lit up beautifully. A lovely spot for a relaxing evening stroll!

A good spot to wind down and chill on the weekend. Very good vibes!

Aside from the parking being a bit tricky, I’ve got no complaints—the mall’s great to stroll through and has plenty of good food.

Truly relaxing side walk tours by the river with birds and trees around.

Fun place to bring your children, mostly clean, but we came on a very hot morning, so we couldn’t enjoy all amenities for children
