Couldn't have asked for a better lunch, absolutely fantastic experience, both food and staff. Our waiter was absolutely superb. Described our dishes, gave recommendations and made the experience perfect. Highly recommend for a dining experience you won't forget. Grazie mille!

A typical tourist restaurant. The food was average, and there was no flexibility to order anything outside of the set menu. At least they managed to bring us tomatoes and mozzarella separately, as they weren’t able to prepare a Caprese salad. The pasta wasn’t bad, the most delicious one was the lobster pasta. However, the most disappointing part was that they added an extra bottle of wine to our bill, which we neither ordered nor drank. When we pointed out that we had only one bottle, they corrected the bill without any issues. Still, it left us with a slightly uncomfortable feeling, as it could have been an honest mistake or something less innocent. The only truly enjoyable aspect was the beautiful garden and its pleasant atmosphere.

Great local food. We had for apetisers au eroine which was not so reat and 16 year old prosciuto with bread and cheese - very tasty! Maine course we had the răzbit with polenta and ravioli👌

Incredible meal and a wonderful dining experience. We were served by Michel, a sommelier with a true passion for his craft. He had spot-on tasting notes for the simple montepulciano blend we selected, made excellent meal suggestions, poured a few glasses of a lovely white to try with our grilled sea bass (when I asked if we had made a classic wine error ordering fish while enjoying abbottle of red), and took care of us quite adeptly throughout dinner. Truly enjoyable!

Huge disappointment as for the restaurant you can find in the Michelin Guide. The dishes were served cold and, what’s more important, prepared without any imagination (you would expect that from the restaurant on the Michelin Guise list). Simple lamb (meat not cleaned properly) served with grilled pieces of vegetables, and tuna (as a fish of a day). The only interesting one was “Xiao Long Bao”, with some kind of character. But that’s it. Moreover, wine list is on 88 (!) pages, as this is a wine shop. But… the waiter couldn’t recommend anything, simply asking us if we want red, white or sparkling. I would call it: funny and unprofessional. We ordered red, for the price of not more than 40€. We got it. Relief. On top of that: the restaurant is in the residential area, far away from Cita Bassa. We have specially selected this place, as we have never been disappointed by the Michelin recommendation. Ane we wanted to celebrate our visit to Bergamo. Anyway: stay away from this place. Don’t go there: it’s a waste of time and money.

Outstanding service and an overall fantastic experience. I came to the restaurant a little too late to enjoy the food, however the kitchen prepared a set of snack and cheese for me to go with my wine. The staff was excellent and my waiter took the time to ask me about the kind of wine I like and what I am looking for. He opened a bottle of a very nice Cuoredivino 2018 which I really enjoyed. The music was charming as well. I highly recommend this place for a social meeting, romantic date or simply just to sit down and enjoy a beautiful glass of vino. Absolutely flawless experience.

Great restaurant located in Bergamo! The place is well-finished with a large collection of wines and modern paintings. The waiters are professional and well prepared. Moreover, both the ingredients and the cuisine are refined. All the flavours are valorised and food plating is in line with Michelin-starred restaurants. I really appreciated the pigeon, one of the most tricky meats, as well as the fish appetiser. Special experience!!! Strongly suggest!

I really enjoyed visiting this restaurant tucked away in the back streets of Bergamo (although only about a 10 minute walk from centre). The food was great. The welcome friendly and a nice buzzy atmosphere. Interesting design wise and definitely worth revisiting.

Day trip to Bergamo, I stopped by to try Stracciatella (chocolate chip gelato). It is a birthday place of stracciatella. I am not big chocolate chip ice cream person. It was creamy and it was good. I wanted wafer cone, it is only come in 3 scoops, 4.50 euro. The wafer cone was okay. The other two favors were pistachios and strawberry. Stracciatella was the best of the three. Is it better than other gelato, not really.

The original stracciatella ice cream. Yes,this is much more delicious than anything sold as stracciatella. I became a fan. 🤩 Also tried polenta e osei which is a local specialty and very tasty. Crispy sweet polenta outside and some kind of cream with almond and apricot jam inside. Don't forget to try coffee with zabaglione as well, I loved it!!

A Perfect Afternoon at La Marianna – Gelato, Aperol, and Sunshine after a walk from the castello di san vigillio. During my recent visit to Bergamo’s charming Città Alta, I had the pleasure of stopping by La Marianna at Largo Colle Aperto, 4. Seated on their spacious outdoor terrace, I indulged in their specialty affogato a delightful combination of rich espresso poured over their signature La Marianna’s original 1961 creation, stracciatella creamy gelato. Complementing this was a refreshing Aperol Spritz, perfectly balanced and served with a smile. The gelato was creamy and rich, with generous chocolate shavings that melted perfectly on the tongue. It was evident that high-quality ingredients were used, making it one of the best I’ve tasted. The ambiance was serene, with the sun casting a gentle glow and the world leisurely passing by. It’s no wonder La Marianna is renowned not only for inventing the iconic stracciatella gelato in 1961 but also for providing such memorable experiences.  If you find yourself in Bergamo, I highly recommend taking a moment to relax at La Marianna. Whether you’re a gelato enthusiast or simply seeking a tranquil spot to unwind, this establishment offers both history and hospitality in equal measure. 

Gelato is good however 3 scopes in the cup is similar size of 1 scoop with cone.

Very classy wine bar. This is the second premises to the main restaurant / wine bar. Staff were very helpful and kind. Fantastic wine list and we picked our bottle from the shelf. We ordered Parma ham platters, bread and oil, cheese boards, olives etc. I love this place and will definitely return. Met the owner who was lovely. All staff attentive and pleasant. This is what Italy is all about. We were never rushed and left to relax as long as we liked. Don’t change guys 🙏🏼👍🏻❤️

10/10 - amazing cheese, super engaged and professional service, nice terrasse with heating (and blankets), great vine. I don’t understand 3.8 in Google evaluation! This spot is definitely a 4.8! 😊👍

Went to Donizetti at the end of January. The food was spectacular, the local wine pairing was amazing and their desserts oh, but oh so good! We also enjoyed our server who was very nice, on top of things and knowledgeable. Ordered the Casoncelli, the Polenta e formai e speck, and the Spedo di Manzo. Everyone loved their meal!

Its all about the food. Decor is comfortably rustic in a setting that is almost more out than in on a warm September evening. A variety of traditional pasta dishes with a very local vibe and seasonal ingredients. The charcuterie and cheese is a delight. I had a pasta dish which was so good I ordered the same again, fortunately the staff were happy to provide a child's portion at a reduced price or I would have exploded. I followed this up with a cheese platter of 6 different local cheeses which I shared with my wife. They were all excellent and craftily arranged in strength order from mild to challenging. Probably the very best cheeses I have eaten in the last 10 years and I love cheese. We had a starting glass of local franciacorta sparkling wine with a bottle of robust local red for the pasta and cheese. Altogether a memorable meal in a memorable place. You can find cheaper places to eat in Bergamo Alta, but I doubt you will find better.

The Casoncelli are delicious. Good wines. A bit too pricey, but therefore you will have a table under a beautiful pavillon!

I had the Tradizione tasting menu and everything was delicious. The pasta was super tasty, the fish was really fresh, and each dish looked beautiful too. You can tell they really care about what they serve. The wine was also great and matched the food perfectly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Big bonus: it’s dog friendly! If you're in Bergamo, definitely worth a visit.

We really enjoined our meals here. The atmosphere was amazing and the service exquisite. I've had one of the best desserts - bread butter and milk. I also loved the mutton and chicken, but all the dishes were amazing.

The location in Bergamo is average, but the interior is carefully chosen. We visited the restaurant as a family of six. The Italian cuisine is local, very tasteful and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the traditional menu (5-courses with the restaurant signature dish - pasta). The service is very friendly and helpful. The pice is little above average, but justified by the quality & creativity of the dishes we had. We will visit the place in Bergamo again.

After reading some good recommendations of this place, we went for lunch a Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of space when we arrived. We received a warm welcome from the waiter, who spoke good English language. We both had the beef tatar and the famous pasta dish from the region Casoncelli. Both dishes were served quickly and were both wonderful. All in all a very good experience and we can really recommend the place.

Excellent food at reasonable pricing! The Interieur is tasteful, service quite nice and after asking, helpful. I mistook natural wine for bio- Wine and , after asking was informed about my probable mistake. Thanks for that. Proposed wine was excellent. Nice place!

The best food we had in Bergamo by far. Great attention to inventive flavours and quality ingredients, elegant environment and excellent care and hospitality from the 2 gentlemen front of house. Well worth seeking out!

The service is close to impeccable, the food is beautifully served, but our taste buds weren't blown away. Don't get me wrong, the food's very good - it just didn't amaze us as some other restaurants with similar Michelin ratings. For the reference - we had a 5-course tasting menu with wine pairing.

It has moved to Villa Elena about 800m up the hill. Be careful making reservation, it isn’t obvious that it is no longer at this location. (I did not eat there. I give it one star only to make the review more noticeable. I will delete it once Google shows it in the new location)

I’m utterly amazed anyone would rate this place less than five stars. This place is not cheap but worth every penny! My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to dine at this establishment during lunch while in Bergamo. For our lunch we decided to partake in the Caual Taster and wine pairing... All I can say is mind blown. From the raw shrimp with fried legs to the amazing raviolis in chicken consume, it was all amazing. Casual has set the bar for all other restaurants for me. Highly recommend!

If you are a tourist DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. They won't bring you english menu so you won't understand and they will choose for you the most expensive meals, extras and wines!!! You will exit with a 800€ bill without understanding.

The space is beautiful and the service is great. They offer many complimentary treats courtesy of the chef; however the food was hit or miss. The appetizer flight on the map was phenomenal but many of the other dishes we had were underwhelming in taste but very well presented. I have mixed feelings as the staff were fantastic but I think overall it was overpriced. The esthetics were better than the taste.

The restaraunt is located in a bit of an odd location at an old bus depot and we were puzzled walking up here. Once you get inside you forget about the neighbourhood though. The old bus depot was more intimate than we expected and the food was ... outstanding. We had 8 dishes as well as the wine pairing (7 glasses) and it was an amazing experience with a lot of food from Sicily that we had no prior knowledge of or experience with. Absolutely the best we had in Bergamo.

Waiters were very rude. They technically asked me to leave because I didn’t finish all my plates. When I ordered balsamic they refused. When I go to a restaurant I expect to eat however and whatever I want, nevertheless a michelin star restaurant. It's disappointing to see that you fail to understand the importance of customer service and respect. As a paying customer, I have the right to express my opinions and experiences, whether positive or negative. It's unfortunate that you struggle to handle constructive criticism without becoming defensive. Your condescending tone and refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing only reinforce the negative experience I had at your so called michelin star restaurant. It's clear that you lack the professionalism and humility required to run a successful business. I strongly suggest you reflect on your approach to customer feedback. Remember, it is the customers who ultimately determine the success or failure of your restaurant. Dismissing their opinions with such arrogance will only drive them away.

Very good food, thats no discussion. We had the tasting menu. The tempo of the courses was very high. We asked to take some more time between the courses, but that was not possible?? They only serve wine or water. There is no other possibility for people who doesn’t drink alcohol or for children. Unbelievable that a michelin star restaurant has no alternative (juices, mocktails, infusion or soft drinks).

Great service and great vegan options! We were happy to find a traditional Italian ristorante that offers a variety of vegan options. It’s not listed on the menu but the staff helped out! 😊 Till now we ate the bruschetta with Tomate, the spaghetti pomodoro, we love the insalata mista but our highlight is the vegan polenta option! 🙏

Good pizza and with options to have it gluten-free and with lactose free mozzarella. Not many pizza places have both options. Service was okay,had the impression that the waitress was going to say no to my wife when she asked to have her pizza cut for her. She eventually took my wife’s pizza back to the kitchen to have it sliced up but she gave the impression that she was reluctant to do it. Not sure why but it’s a simple request. Not sure I would go back to this restaurant.

Everything that we ordered was delicious. The beer selection is good. My linguini with sea food looks very good, but some of the food needs to be cleaned from shells. It wasn't so comfortable and you need napkins. The tables are very close each others. Overall I could come back and will recommend to my friends.

At Antica Osteria Del Vino Buono in Bergamo, the service was great, with staff that were very welcoming and friendly. We began with a shared plate of charcuterie and cheese, which offered a nice mix of flavors. This was followed by the ‘drunk’ risotto (daily specials) and ravioli; the risotto was fine, though it didn't stand out in flavor. The ravioli, filled with meat and topped with sage, bacon, and melted butter, was exceptionally tasty. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant further enhanced our enjoyable dining experience.

I’m still thinking about the pasta weeks later, one of the most flavourful dishes I’ve had in a while. Service was lovely, well priced and good atmosphere inside.

The food is pretty bad for the restaurant. They brought what they claim to be a “slowly cooked pork” within 10 minutes, which means it’s premade. Feels like I ate in a school canteen a very mediocre dish. The tomatoes they brought were not quite fresh either. The interior and service is good, but I’m disappointed with a food a lot, waste of money.

Lovely family run restaurant! The service was very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress had a great knowledge of allergies, specifically gluten free. Lots of old family recipes - all our food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back next time we are in Bergamo!

Very busy spot for dinner special at the weekend. Reservation was needed. We have ordered Rabit with polenta, beef with polenta and two pizzas + bottle of red wine and 2 Coca Cola paid around 80 euros with coperto. We didn’t have to wait long for our order. Everything was tasty. Portion was not to big. If you order only one dish (no starters) you might be a little bit hungry but then you have a space for dessert so overall is good👍

Arrived in Bergamo and had to try this place despite a couple of dodgy reviews. Walked in about 6pm and were immediately sat at a nice table. My family and I had a fantastic time. Great food (the steak was awesome!), really friendly staff who were helpful on food and wine selections and great fun. We were sat upstairs and we all commented how good the acoustics were for conversation at the table in a reasonably full restaurant by the time we left at about 9:30pm. As for the slightly negative reviews on here… Hey everyone has an off day, don’t let that put you off this great establishment. Cost wise… €170 for 4 people having 2-3 courses each, soft drinks and a decent bottle of local wine to complement the steak. We felt that was very reasonable considering the quality of the experience. We could easily have dined there without deserts and the alcoholic beverages for well under €100

Great restaurant at citta alta with a lot of local products. They offer a variety of local cuisine, beer, wines, pizza and sweets. When we went it was packed and had quite a wait time, so it was a good thing we had a reservation in advance. The dishes were great and the pizza was very light.

Located in the medieval heart of Bergamo, in a building that once housed an ancient monastery later converted into a prison, Il Circolino di Città Alta offers cozy, atmospheric spaces that make for a truly memorable dining experience. We enjoyed an exquisite Italian lunch, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The pizzas were light and crispy, while the Caprese salad featured ripe, juicy tomatoes and a whole mozzarella, perfectly seasoned with fresh herbs. Very reasonably priced. The waiting staff were attentive and polite throughout. A wonderful spot — I’d definitely recommend visiting when in Bergamo!

I recently dined at Lalimentari and had a fantastic experience. The standout dish was the pasta with porcini mushrooms—rich, earthy, and perfectly cooked. I also had the aged dry ham, which was delicately sliced and full of robust flavor. It had just the right amount of saltiness and a melt-in-the-mouth texture that showed its quality. I had dinner at Lalimentari in Bergamo and honestly, it blew me away. Everything I tried was spot-on and full of flavor. I started with the local cold cuts and cheese platter — all from Bergamo and the surrounding region. Big up The setting was relaxed and local, and everything tasted authentic without trying too hard. This is one of those places you hope to stumble upon when traveling — and I’m glad I did. Five stars, no question.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend and two other couples. My friends quite like the food but our dishes weren't of the quaility I'd expected. The Bergamo-styled rabbit was dry and had too many bones for my taste. Pasta was good but I'd tried better ones. Having a chance to be at the main square at the centre of the old town was really pleasant as we listened to local musicians. At the end of the night we had to wait for 30 minutes until we finally got the bill and paid as waiters were quite slow.

I believe this is the best restaurant in Bergamo. I stayed in the city for three days and came back here every single day because the food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the prices were very reasonable. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and served with great care. It truly felt like the heart of Bergamo’s hospitality.

Its a very nice location in Piazza Vecchia where you can take breakfast, i had one Caffe Aromatizzato Alla Nocciola which was so small.. not so tasty. The gem croissant was ok. Its nice that you can stay out and enjoy sun, view.

There was no waiting for a table even though the restaurant is always full, the service is excellent, the waiters are very helpful, the prices are high for the amount you get. If you sit outside the restaurant, the atmosphere is great because the restaurant is located on the square itself, while the inside of the restaurant exudes history and creates an additional atmosphere and ambiance while tasting the dishes of that region.

The carbonara was only warm, the taste was average. The guanciale was not crispy, but completely hard, there was little sauce. The lasagna was very strangely prepared and had a poor taste.

My husband and I researched restaurants in Bergamo before we left the UK. We came across this delightful restaurant online and called to book a table on the terrace for the evening we arrived. Well, what can we say! It delivered beyond our expectations in every way. We took the funicular railway and a few steps from the terminal & we had arrived at the restaurant with its outstanding view and twinkling lights. It was such a pretty setting. The buzz from the people dining on the terrace was just lovely, and we received exceptional service from the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly too. The menu choices were amazing, and the food was incredible! Every dish had flavours that set your taste buds going. We had a lovely rose wine recommended by their wine waiter, which did not disappoint. All in all, we had a truly wonderful evening, and we will treasure our memories of our time spent here. Highly recommended. Pay a visit when in Bergamo, you will not be disappointed!

We found out about this place from the Michelin guide and this was actually a second visit. We went in without a reservation and the staff were super accommodating. The food is so good, it has a familiar feel, like good ol' homecooked meals but with a special twist. I especially enjoyed the pumpkin appetizer, the carbonara and the truffle pasta. Not to mention the pittoresque setting which was so cozy in a rainy day.

Attended for lunch 21/05/25. Beautiful restaurant with stunning views. We sat outside as it was warm and the views were tremendous. Staff were very attentive and the food was lovely. Highly recommend

Had an excellent dinner here Aug 31st. It was hard to choose whether to sit inside or outside as the inside is so beautiful, and the outdoor view is amazing. Excellent young lady server took care of us and the food was amazing. Grazie.

One of the best experiences I ever had in Italy, amazing food, great staff. I would totally recommend this eating journey. We got here by accident just visiting Bergamo after some busy days in Milan, and were kinda disappointed to be honest. But I do recommend Bergamo and especially this restaurant. This is a Michelin star restaurant so you can expect prices to be high, but you do great food and great service. The food was amazing although I ordered the Cod with Polenta and expected it quite different but still delicious. I was able to taste the Octopus as a main dish and this was magnificent. A nice touch was all the complimentary little dishes in between courses and with the coffee. We were a party of 11 so I was lucky to try different starters and main courses and all the meals were exceptional. We had a lovely Bergamo white which was fruity and complimented our courses which were all mainly fish courses. A meal at this restaurant is not cheap but it's a culinary experience worth indulging in. I have to mention the excellent customer service which was delivered with professionalism and cheerfulness. There is only one thing that lets this restaurant down, and that is the toilets. First, they need to be cleaned during the clients being there as it gives a bad impression when there is no toilet paper or hand wipes.

What an experience! It was super fun and delicious, we felt like it was the real deal. We were seated at a shared table, very kind waiter explained the menu to us (in spanish so we would understand), there is a salad bar, you get water, wine, bread and one or two course meal. The atmosphere is eclectic and so charming! It felt genuine and honestly it was a treat! Price is very reasonable too.

They are offering a fixed menu plus a buffet for 25 Euro. A carafe of wine is included. Our pasta dishes were very good. The pork chop was very dry and was not seasoned. Boring. The roast beef was boring too.. On one photo what we gave back uneaten. The dessert was too sweet. The salad buffet was nothing to talk about. The cheapest available stuff. Because we prefer beer over wine, we asked if it's possible to change the included wine to beer. One waiter said yes, another said no. Finally I ordered one beer - a Heineken was the only available one. What a shame, because there are very good Italian beers. So we tried the wines. Big mistake. The cheapest wines on the market I guess. The waiters were friendly, the waitresses acted if they hate their job. The chairs are maximal uncomfortable.

The famous and charismatic Giuliana runs a restaurant that is truly special in Bergamo. We tried the casoncelli(Bergamo special type of ravioli), the gorgonzola gnocchi, long cooked beef with green sauce, veal with polenta and for dessert we had a bergamo special polenta dessert and tiramisu. All these dishes came with a salad buffét with 20 different selections of salads, 1/4 bottle of wine, water, bread & coffee with the desserts for €25 per person. Fantastic service, unique athmosphere and really tasty food.

La Tana is a great choice in Bergamo if you’re looking for an authentic experience in the cittá alta. The menu features creative combinations and unusual ingredients. This was certainly the most interesting dinner I have had in Bergamo. You will probably need to book a table as I found the restaurant occupied multiple evenings. The kitchen seems to specialize in unorthodox ingredients, do not expect any usual meals. I had raw beef heart tartare and then lamb offal with river shrimp, everything very tasty. The cheese plate for a dessert was decent. Great selection of local wines, also unusual varieties. For that experience, it was not too expensive, not more than any other usual restaurant in the old city. Great dinner, thanks!

It is a very good restaurant, we were just unsatisfied with a couple of things, hence 4 and not 5 stars. We ordered one of the tasting menus, where we found the portions to be small. The first dishes were amazing but the last one fell short. I recommend getting separate dishes instead of that. The staff is incredibly polite and friendly, also the atmosphere inside the restaurant is perfect.

Ate here during a trip to Bergamo last week. Was recommend by our hotel as a good local restaurant option. Located very slightly off the main road, its well worth the trip down the hill. Menu was limited but we liked that. Food was delicious and staff were excellent. I picked a dish for my main course that I didn't particularly enjoy the texture of but it was still very tasty and my husband gladly polished off everything I didn't finish. Wine was excellent and we really enjoyed our evening here. Would recommend to people visiting the city

I have come here time and time again and it never disappoints. One of my favourite dining experiences worldwide, and that does not come easy. Food is absolutely amazing, and very well priced for the calibre of dishes served. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, and the wines are interesting and delicious. We visited this restaurant for the second time during a short family holiday at the beginning of September. This allows me to modify my previous review based on the food tasting. The pizza is delicious, with perfect dough, excellent toppings and seasoning. The staff are very efficient and discreet. I like that you can pay at the cashier on your way out. The biggest advantage of this restaurant is the view from the terrace. The view is worth every penny. :)

WOW. A must visit restaurant. A lovely walk up a long cobbled hill. The menu had changed and I couldn't see a vegan opinion. The waitress asked the kitchen and they made me a vegetable ragu with tagliatelle. It was excellent. The view from the open patio door was spectacular. Waiter service was attentive but not overpowering. A really nice, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The restaurant offers truly excellent food and authentic local Italian cuisine. I had one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten, and the beautiful views made the experience even more special. However, I would kindly suggest that the staff try to be a bit warmer and more relaxed, as the atmosphere could then match the wonderful quality of the food.

Wonderful and down to earth restaurant with the most stunning view over Bergamo and surrounding hills. We had a mix of Italian primis and pizzas with local wine.

One of the best views ever. Overseeing the whole of Bergamo and the amazing hills and mountains. The food was delicious. It is a mix of local Bergamaschi dishes like rabbit stew with polenta, and lovely tuna stake , they were kind enough to arrange a big table for us that would still come with a view and keep it as we were late due to traffic. The tiramisù was perfect and they have a very good variety of vines. It is a busy place and i reccomend you book and come on time.

Amazing, but really amazing restaurant. Service was on point or more, such funny and amazing people which is so great to see in italy. They even offered us a purse holder to put on the table ! Staying in Citta Alta and not visiting Parietti should be a crime. Great vibe and way ahead of even twice as expensive restaurants. The Ravioli alla Canesi is one of the most savory dishes I have ever tasted! Might look like it's far from the city, but the walk from Citta Alta is super easy

Excellent and delicious dinner in this old world restaurant. Generous but beautifully plated first and second courses. The Casoncelli is one of the best I’ve tasted here in Bergamo. The cotaletta veal chop… huge and delicious. The tables are large and the decor charming. The traditional service outstanding, warm and inviting. All in all… highly recommend this for a great meal.

Fantastic experience all around, the food was great -- probably the best asparagus I have ever had in addition to all the great usual Bergamese food. The decor is wonderful. Some of the wautors didn't speak English but were nevertheless attentive and brought their English speaking colleagues over. BTW they brought out complementary sweets after we declined dessert. The most importantly, food is delicious, prepared with care and thought. The tartare was smooth and fresh, although presentation was giving me communist vibes. Casoncelli alla Bergamasca was divine, but be aware of the amount of butter used. Unfortunately didn’t see any lombardian desert on the menu so I went with apple strudel and it was on point! Even gelato was a proper Italian style! Now service: got a little thrown off guard by a tall, mature waiter at the door when I said I arrived to dine alone. He said it wasn’t possible. I explained I booked a table for 2, because website didn’t allow to book for 1. He wasn’t happy about it and while offering me a table he asked me to delete reservation on fork.it. There should be an option for people to eat alone, so that’s an area of improvement. Otherwise the young man serving me wine was very approachable and had great knowledge of the menu. The lady who served food was also very friendly.

Good reviews led us to Mimi's for dinner, and we are so glad they did! We had a wonderful meal - roasted rabbit and braised beef with polenta. Some of the rabbit was dry, but not all. The beef was rich and delicious, and went really well with the polenta.

Beautiful food, lovely outdoor dining area and friendly staff. The brochette was delicious and a good sized portion, lasagna was good (not great) whereas the casoncelli were amazing. We also had a warm cooked beef and potato dish which was good but we were already full! Good selection of wines including some local grapes. 🤤🤤🤤

A classic touristy spot—crowded but efficient. Service was quick, though the pizza leaned a bit salty for my taste. They were too busy to clean the tables promptly, but we managed to find a spot upstairs. The space there felt a bit bare, with plain walls and no decoration.

What a place! The pizza is exceptional in flavour and choice. It was busy the times we went but the numbering system to order is helpful and having more than one person with you to find and wait for a table whilst the other pays and collects is ideal. You pay by the kilo so can be easy to ask for a small/large slice as they cut them to order.

The focaccia was absolutely worth the wait! From taking the ticket to placing and paying for the order, we waited about 20 minutes – but every bite made it worthwhile. We paid around €20 for two pieces, which is more than fair given the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Perfectly balanced flavors, soft and aromatic dough – it simply melts in your mouth. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Honestly the food looked so good and I have been seeing it on instagram . But when I reached there , there were already a lot of people in queue and yet the food tasted old , stale and not fresh . I paid almost 10 euros per slice because it weighed and it’s mostly bread that heavy . The croissant ham sandwich was mid and so was their latte. Honestly I would never go back there . The margarita I ate was honestly the most fried slice of stale pizza I have had and the salmon was edible but for the money I paid it’s such a rip off

Outstanding!! Loved every minute of this experience. The waiter spoke really good English and was super helpful, knew the menu really well. I had the best fresh pasta with simple tomato sauce which was top quality. The pizzas are also delightful, great toppings. The service was fast, we ended the feast with pistachio ice cream dessert that we shared and still think it's a serving for 3 people, so huge and so good! We'll be back, it's our hidden gem!

Superb gluten free experience. Wide selection of pizzas, I chooses Byron and it didn’t fit my preferences in 100% but was tasty, my partner was also happy with her pizza, normal, non gluten free. Great atmosphere and a lot of locals there. I would totally go again but choose a classic pizza.

Very good food but a bit pricey. For the prices, the service should be a bit better. Can recommend this establishment when in Bergamo but be sure to dress properly also. Not a scruffy jeans and t-shirt kind of place. Unless they are designer items of clothing. The inner part of the building is spectacular. Very old with arched ceilings.

We was in town for 1 day for our friends birthday, wanted somewhere with good quality food with amazing atmosphere. This was the place! Staff were great at explaining the menu and giving recommendations. The lobster pasta was incredible. They done a surprise dessert for our friends birthday and sang happy birthday. The chef also came out to greet us which was the ultimate ending. Lovely staff, family based restaurant. Will definitely recommend.

Both dishes were very salty. The pasta was hard like its half-cooked? The chef explained that its because of the octopus soaked in salt water. I was not sure because the octopus itself was not salty but the sauce.

The ice cream we've got here really enhanced our visit in Bergamo. For just 3.50 euro you receive such a load that it was hard to believe, with chocolate inside the cone plus little cone and cream on top of the ice cream. Wow! Huge variety also. To step inside this gelaterie was the best idea I could get.

Yesterday I went there with my girlfriend and her parents and the ice cream was amazingly good, tasty though not excessively sweet, creamy and just the right temperature. The girls at the counter were nice while still working quickly so as to keep up with the crowd. Definitely recommended.

I dropped by this place for some ice cream after 10 PM. The spot was really nice, and the staff were super friendly. They introduced me to all the available flavors in english. There’s a big variety to choose from, plus you can even add chocolate coating in the cone and top it off with whipped cream and a cookie if you like😱. The scoops are generous, so you’ve got to eat fast before it gets messy…😶‍🌫️

Best ice I have ever eaten. I don’t know many ice stores in italy to compare, but this one is simply amazing. Nice ambience, very clear overview over the different flavors and the pricing. The taste is really great and the price is very fair. The most expensive price per ice ball is 1,50 €, which is much cheaper than other stores we saw. Furthermore there are a few of seasonal and lots of vegan flavors, which are marked well. Also the service is very good, since they work very efficient, so you don’t wait too long.

Service was a bit poor. Felt like they didn't want us as it was fully booked so stuck us outside.They don't treat non Italians the same. No water offered, different bread and no candle like others. Portions were tiny and staff rude when paying the bill. Nothing special.

I had the casoncelli, and it was definitely a great choice! Compared to the first and second courses my friends ordered, I enjoyed the casoncelli much more. It’s a traditional dish from Bergamo, and they offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions—I chose the non-vegetarian one and loved it. They served bread with ragù at the beginning, and water was included as well. For dessert, we were treated to delicious biscotti. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Although the entrance looks narrow, the inside is beautiful and spacious.

I see in the reviews there are people who had the same experience about their rude and ignorant service: We asked for a table and the waitress impatiently pointed one and NEVER came to take order while busy serving others came after us. I had to go to cassa and complained to others to finally got our cappuccinos after almost 20minutes. To the ignorant waitresses: Serving people is your job. You may not like it but at least be worthy for your paycheck.

We wait 20 min for coffee and 2 aperoll’s. Both of same drinks taste totally different so was very confused. Glasses was dirty same like tables. Coffee was very sour. Nothing to recommend except view

Came for drinks in the afternoon. Staff were really attentive and helpful so we decided to return the following day for brunch. It was very busy but staff were not rushed yet seemed to be ignoring us. We finally ordered avocado on toast was very disappointed when it arrived as it wasn’t actual avocado but what looked and tasted like supermarket guacamole and cheap bread. It was very expensive for what we actually got! Also waited ages for drinks to arrive and when they did my latte was cold. We then tried for ages to get staff attention to ask for bill. Then were given a receipt and told to queue at the till to pay though we’d seen other people paying at the table and had paid at the table the day before.

Very helpful / kind service, If you're visiting the city it's a good stop for you to get breakfast and enjoy the atmosphere of Bergamo. Food is filling and coffee is delicious. Asked for toast, got toast. 10/10

I loved the look of this Cafe. I was craving a pistachio croissant and Googled the nearest place, that's why I visited here. However, the croissant was not fresh (maybe a day old), but I still enjoyed it. If you have a sweet tooth, then you will love the 'filled' croissant here. I thought the cream was way too sweet, and it wasn't distributed evenly throughout the croissant. (It was nothing like I had in Venice, but it settled the pistachio craving) The weather was great, so I ate at the park directly across the Cafe to enjoy the sun.

So bad experience, I ordered Franciacorta, but they brought me Champagne 13€ per glass, with no added information. After paying the bill, they said they stopped offering Franciacorta per glass. So bad service.

The best gelateria ever! The ice cream is absolutely delicious – there are around 40 different flavors, and choosing just one was the hardest decision of my life 😂 The prices are fair, and they give you a really generous portion. 5 stars from me – I hope I get to visit again someday!

Best gelato shop in Bergamo. It’s an old & famous gelateria. They have many different varieties of gelato flavors. Staff is helpful and cooperative. Excellent service. Reasonable price s. Recommended to visit it. My super favorite is their Pistachio & Tiramisu gelato.

The best choice and quality of authentic Italian ice cream in Bergamo, although the place of the gelateria is quite modest, with no tables for a pleasant meeting with friends. But the excellent quality of the ice cream makes up for this shortcoming.

You could taste the chef Luca's passion for food. This is a place you don't want to miss! Mauro is an amazing person, who took the time to explain the menu for us with his own personal suggestions. The food was amazing and offered something completely new - without being too expensive. The attention to detail in flavours and cooking techniques was on point. We popped in for a night cap and received a warm welcome and were given advice on the local beers. Sadly, football was on at full volume, which made chatting difficult. I didn't have anything to eat, so in fairness, there was no star rating on the food. Noisy sports or not. I enjoyed my beer in this authentic Italian bar.

We enjoyed the food a lot. The snack for two, amazing polenta with mushrooms, cheese, and meats, is great in a local casual atmosphere. The staff was nice, and we had several types of beers. It's a great spot.

Food and drinks were good. Watch out when you take starter for 2 persons with ham and cheeses - I do not recommend to take it together with main course because it's huge. When it comes to service i was not really happy. Waiters do not even know simple words in english it's difficult to communicate. They forgot orders, I had to remind them after couple of min waiting for a wine. We waited for a bill 20 min asking waiter 3 times when will it come. At third time we relized that maybe we should pay at the bar - waiter failed to communicate that, I think even if you do not know english it is possible, it's only about goodwill.

The beer was reasonably priced at 6.5€ for a medium Paulaner or Chouffe, but we could not seem to get the attention of the server to order new drinks. When we did, we were not greeted with the hospitality that you might expect. We did get some complementary peanuts, olives, and chips. The location itself is also quite cozy.

A good bar that also offers hot food. I don't say "fresh" because the lasagna and pasta were heated rather than cooked after our order, but that's okay because it's not a restaurant. We went here early in the morning when many other places in the area were closed. Overall, we were happy with the prices and service.

Firstly, the kitchen works during siesta time. We decided to eat some local food casoncelli alla bergamasca and cotoletta alla Milansese. The portions were big and really tasty. Moreover, the service was really nice and professional. I recommemd this place!

I have been there a couple couple of times First thing to mention is that do not expect pizza to be like a normal pizza they cook it differently The first time I ordered pizza, it taste it not really good but the second time I ordered this pizza that I already uploaded the image. They will charge you three euros for the service which wasn’t really fair for a pizza but to have a conclusion I think this bar and restaurant is a good one and I don’t know why they have the rate of 3.9 and I think they deserve more than that. The place is very welcoming, with a nice, warm atmosphere and, despite the small area, it doesn't feel cramped. Their best asset is a very vast tea selection, with high quality leaves and a wide array of flavours, with more than reasonable prices. As for the food, they have a good selection of pastries, in which you can find many vegan or gluten free options, as well as a few of both. However, because of the choice of flour, some sweets feel a bit dry, so I recommend always ordering with a nice beverage.

We only found this bar after checking Google for recommended places to eat in Bergamo, but we're so glad we did. It is a little out of the centre of Citta Alta but is well worth a visit. It has a nice, relaxing atmosphere and a wide selection of beers - if you're into that thing 😁. The staff are really nice but, without doubt the star of the show is the food. I would safely say it is the best we've had anywhere in Bergamo and would highly recommend the burgers and pizzas.

Wonderful food; spectacular setting; they were kind enough to stay open for our late night dining. Upscale service and environment: we dined in the garden, which was a really attractive space. Strong bias towards seafood, but other options available; all were tasty. Effect was somewhat destroyed by two people who smoked like chimneys, oblivious to the effects they were having on others around them. Restaurant response: "it's outside, and besides, people like to smoke." Legal? Sure. Pleasant for others? Nope.

CAREFUL!!! They will just charge you 120 euros in your card without previous notice of any minimum consumption! We tried several Michelin Guide restaurants in Bergamo and this was the worst in taste, atmosphere and service. And with the unannounced charge on my card one of the most expensive. Definitely not worth it

Below average food for outrageous prices. For the prices they list (appetisers around 30 Euro, first courses between 30 and 40 Euro and mains around 40 Euro or more, desserts at 15 Euro), I would expect to have exceptional food, with some research behind it. Instead, the dishes we tried were all poorly served, with boring plating, tiny portions, with uninteresting and very basic taste. Especially the desserts which pretty much all consisted on ice cream with some toppings. I felt like I have been cheated. Never again.

It was one of the best resturants we have been. It is all about fineschmecker, you have to appreciate how food is served and done. It is all about the art of the chef. The Service was amazing, the two owners where always around, and taking very good care of us. Really recommended!

I just happened to pass by and on seeing a lot of the locals sitting , I wanted to try it.I had breakfast on my first day and later tried their menu in the afternoon. The pricing is perfect and the server ,she was amazing very kind and helpful .The food was amazing I really loved the sauce and blend of spices was very good.The atmosphere is good ur facing the Main circle.Will again visit on my next trip as well.You must try if you are at Bergamo.

Really nice food. We had a great evening there with friends. The Pizza of my friends been amazing and my Tataki Tuna Filet was amazing. Perfectly cooked with a nice sesame crust and a nice soy sauce. The House wine from Mimmo (red) was also very very nice. Prices are definitely not cheap for the food but worth it.

This place was really bad. Restaurant is in old city but nobody could speak a word in english, so it was quite difficult to understand each other. Pizza was nothing special but the most terrible thing with this restaurant was couvért. The couvért for each person was 2,50 €. Don't get ne wrong, if the couvért included good service and little meal (for example in Milano we visited Pizzeria Piz and they got us snack, glass of wine and shot of alcohol - for 2€ couvért), I wouldn't say a word. But here in this restaurant it was just a one plate with bread we didn't even touch at all. We didn't get nothing else and for bread we didn't even eat we paid 12,50€ (there were 5 of us). That is some ridiculous amount of money for terrible service we got. I don't recommend this restaurant. Value of service and meals in this place are deep under the expectations you have for the prize they want you to pay.

A hidden gem for coffee lovers in Bergamo. We stumbled upon Burgan Coffee Lab by chance while exploring the area, and it turned out to be a fantastic find for anyone into specialty coffee. We had two espressos and a cappuccino I went with the espresso, made with Colombian style beans and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. it was ike a little symphony in a cup. The barista was super friendly and really knew her stuff she walked us through the beans and the brewing process with so much care and passion it definitely made the experience even better. The place itself is pretty small more of a “grab a quick coffee” kind of vibe but what it lacks in space makes up for in quality plus, they sell their beans if you want to bring some home.

We tried both of the lcoations, so this review is for the both. Nice speciality coffee, with great taste and service. Please try Kokose type, it's the best coffee that i had.

Perfect coffee! And a unique experience - the coffeeshop is a one man show and Roberto is a great guy! Here you won't run in, grab a coffee to go and run on, you'll have to take your time. And it's absolutely worth it! We were in Bergamo for a few days and this became our favourite place for coffee straight away.

In this Bugan I felt better. It was raining outside so a warm coffee was just what I needed. The barista offered good coffee (coffees from Ethiopia are always a good choice), the same beans roasted light and dark, tasted very good as a filter and with milk. The tart is also tasty, perfect with coffee. Service smiling and very knowledgeable about coffee. Very many coffee accessories, any home barista can leave thousands of euros with them. The lower city is not as nice as the upper city, but coffee is better to drink here.

Be careful,this is a tourist trap! I had no idea that their trademark is the complete absence of sugar! I was looking forward to coming here as a huge pastry fan. Ordered 2 pistachio cornettos, 1 to go and they were severely under filled with just a squirt of pistachio cream on the top. I opened it up to show in full the amount of cream. Very dry and unsatisfying cornettos, nice coffee but due to the disappointing cornettos I cannot recommend it.
