Nestled in the heart of Buxton, The Chakra Lounge has quickly established itself as a beloved dining destination since its inception in 2019. This vibrant eatery offers a delightful fusion of Western cuisine infused with Asian and Indian flavors, catering to diverse dietary preferences. With an impressive array of gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options alongside hearty meat dishes for those who crave them, there's something for everyone at this culinary gem.
This place is a real gem! Chakra Restaurant delights not only with the exceptional flavor of its dishes but also with its wonderful atmosphere. Every bite is a journey into the world of aromatic spices and perfectly selected ingredients. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, and the interior – atmospheric and elegant, but without being overly formal. We felt taken care of from the very first moment to the last. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, family lunch, or a get-together with friends. I will definitely be coming back!

We booked a table in advance which was fine, but unfortunately the table was dirty when we arrived. I asked for it to be cleaned and a rather grumpy waitress came over, gave it a quick wipe, and in the process just spread the crumbs around. I ended up having to use the laminated menu to scrape the table clean myself, which left a layer of grease and crumbs on the edge of the menu – not a great start. I ordered the vegan thali but found it very salty and more like a ready meal than freshly made. On the other hand, my wife and son enjoyed their meals, so perhaps I was unlucky with my choice. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a cosy feel, which was a positive. Overall though, the experience was mixed and let down by the service and the food in my case.
Paul J — Google review
Was looking for somewhere a bit different to have lunch on a short visit to Buxton, and this café caught my eye! I was greeted by a friendly and smiley young waitress who made me feel really welcome. The café was very busy, almost full, but she found me a table close to the entrance. I loved the cosy but vibrant atmosphere, and the colourful Indian decor with its intricate artwork and abundant floral decoration. Family friendly and dog friendly. The toilets are up a flight of stairs, but they were clean and well kept. There was lots of choice on the menu, from street food to imaginative main courses, and breakfasts with an Indian twist. I ordered the Desi English Breakfast, which combined the familiar British bacon, sausage, fried egg and mushrooms with potatoes flavoured with cumin and a bowl of masala spiced beans. Well cooked, with just the right level of spiciness, and ample portions. There was a wide choice of unusual and creative hot and cold drinks, but I opted for the straight latte, and it was very good. Pity I was so full, because there was a tempting selection of cakes and pastries to try. Service was both quick and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. I was so glad I found this place! Would happily recommend!

Had amazing brunch at the Chakra Lounge today. Perfect comfort food. Drinks to recommend Turmeric latte and Dirty Chai Latte. Food to recommend gluten free breakfast and the Tikka eggs Benedict with mushrooms salmon and spinach on sour dough.
Alison — Google review
Lovely food, lots of choice in the menu. Good portion sizes. Nice friendly venue, with a nice atmosphere. Not expensive, and staff helpful if struggling to make a choice. Toilets upstairs so not accessible, but were nice and clean.
Gail — Google review
If you want something a little different for your breakfast, try this place, with perfectly spiced food. I tried the Indian spiced scrambled eggs, with mushroom on sourdough bread. A real treat! Cosy atmosphere, good service and friendly staff. The coffee and cakes are great too! Recommended.
Jane W — Google review
Great brunch spot. The menu is refreshingly different from the usual items you see. One of our group had the scrambled eggs and said it was the best they'd ever had! Healthy portions abound so come hungry! The twists to each dish worked well and weren't too overpowering. My benedict sauce was light and not too sickly. Eggs were done well. We shared a French toast which was perfect too. Took home a cruffin which went down well with a cuppa. Service was on point.

absolute treasure in centre of Buxton! (honestly nearly didn’t pop in but sooooo glad we did) ! Delicious matcha latte and THE BEST GF Vegan cake I have ever eaten: Almond and pistachio torte. Staff are lovely and friendly and (NB we called in to a Pudding Emporium around the corner to enquire if we could have a cuppa - got extremely frosty reception) so happy to have discovered Chakra longe!

Pavilion Gardens in Buxton is a stunning historic venue that showcases the Victorian grandeur of the town. The gardens, dating back to 1871, cover 23 acres and feature play areas, a boating lake, and even a miniature railway on weekends and school holidays. Inside the Pavilions are two cafes, a retail arcade with locally sourced items, and The Conservatory which houses rare plants creating an indoor rainforest experience.
Lovely big gardens to walk around. We were there just before Easter so not too busy but still plenty of people making use of the large area. The gardens are well kept, clean and tidy. There is a small train, loved by children and adults, that does a circuit of the centre of the gardens.
Steve A — Google review
Beautiful gardens with free street parking if you can find it or loads of paid parking either around the town or in the gardens which can be located by the main road. Free public toilets, a small railway train that goes around the park for £2.50 per person, lasts around 5 minutes and is very cute, allowing you to see and take in the park from different angles. Theres loads of different paths, trees, wildlife and plants, some with information plaques, as well as frequent benches, bins and play parks for the kids. Extremely child, disabled and pet friendly. The streams, ponds and riverways are very well kept, as is the whole park and its lovley to see the ducks and wildlife enjoy it too.
Grace P — Google review
Nice easy walk round a pond. Lots of water birds, ducks ,geese, herons. Quite a bit of duck poo on paths near pond. Nice bar, cafe, swimming pool, music venue.

Love the pavilion gardens here in Buxton. Some nice snack/eateries, locally made beers and I particularly like the "hot house" garden, and walking around the park.

What a lovely and unique place. We walked around gardens for a bit, lots of wild birds, small water lakes, had live music playing, which made atmosphere really nice.

The Buxton Brewery Tap House & Cellar is a great place to go for food and drinks. The food is excellent, and the beer selection is really good too. The staff are really welcoming and friendly, which makes it a great place to hang out.
Top place! Visited on a Friday lunchtime,no reservation was needed. A massive beer range both craft and cask, super friendly staff. The food on the lunch menu was very tasty and really good value. Perfect mix of quality food and quality beer. I would love to visit and try the full menu.
Phil W — Google review
Had a great time at the Tap House while visiting Buxton. We stopped by for lunch and went with a couple of sharing plates. Food was great and the variety of beers is amazing. Decided to try the Deepdale, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Staff are also super kind and welcoming. Would definitely come back if we visit the region again.

We were in the Peak District for the bank holiday weekend travelling down from Newcastle. Booked for Sunday lunch as recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! One of the best Sunday lunches we’ve ever had! All amazing! The ales are fab as well, my husband loved them and as the designated driver the fact that they had a low alco ale available was brilliant and very good! If you do decide to try this I’d recommend booking a table.
J F — Google review
Made to feel welcome instantly. Awesome place for a drink or few. Highly recommend axe x and featherbed . Great food. Need to return soon.🍺🍺🍺🍺

Visited this place by chance and I liked it. You will find a good selection of beer and you can taste them. Place has a good atmosphere and staff is really friendly. The food was good, burger very tasty. There is no parking lot, it with some luck you may be able to park your car in front where you will find few marked areas. It is far from where I live, otherwise for sure I would be back.
Luciano F — Google review
We had such a lovely evening here last night! The food was absolutely delicious — we started with the arancini which were perfectly crispy and full of flavour. For mains, we had the stacked burger and the lasagne — both were amazing, cooked to perfection and full of taste. The atmosphere was fantastic too, with brilliant live music that really added to the experience. Couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!
Jodie P — Google review
Underwhelming food, below par service. Not suitable for big groups. We booked this place as a large group, and from the second we arrived we felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. It seemed they were too busy for us. We had to pre order food, however it was a hassle making amendments to the food 8 out of 10 us got the burger and every single one of us complained about the bacon- it came out virtually raw- we asked for crispier bacon and to be fair to the waitress she did bring some back. However when I mentioned this when paying just as some constructive critism, I was told by the waitress ‘ the chefs do like to do the bacon slightly lighter than I like’ I said the bacon is raw- there’s no 2 questions about it Some ordered the beef cheek and pancetta pie- it looked very nice on the plate but lacked taste. I feel bad writing this review as it had great previous reviews hence why we booked it, however it was very underwhelming
Loui S — Google review
Lovely place, good selection of beers. I had the sirloin steak which was very well cooked - although I asked for medium rare and it was more of a medium - but the flavour and sear was so nice I didn’t really mind. Had the arancini for starters which was also really nice. Big portions for the mains. A bit noisy inside but it was full.

The Old Sun Inn is a charming 17th-century coaching inn located in the picturesque spa town of Buxton, nestled in the heart of the Peak District. The traditional pub boasts stone floors, oak paneling, and a cozy fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. With its maze-like layout featuring various rooms and nooks to enjoy a pint of cask ale, it's a popular stop-off for locals and visitors alike.
We had dinner at this lovely pub on Saturday early evening, very glad we booked as it was very busy, a good sign! We arrived a bit early so had a drink at the bar until our table was ready. Really impressed by the wine choice, and price! The food was great too, plentiful and very good. Too full to try a dessert, but they looked great too. It was very welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. Lots of choice for all dietary requirements.
Karen D — Google review
Came on Sunday for a roast. I got the veggie option with the beetroot wellington which was nice as it was hot, but the rest of the food was not warm. Potatoes looked nice and crispy but actually tasted old and hard on the outside. My glass with ice in it made my drink taste weird. The staff were attentive and overall it is a nice pub, but unfortunately the food let it down so I wouldn’t come here again for food.
Laura N — Google review
Excellent Sunday Lunch, we had Turkey crown large portion, the turkey wasn't dry and there was plenty. So had Cauliflower cheese. Nice atmosphere and good service.

Lovely, easy welcome! Really friendly and kind staff! Food - 10/10, easily! Great portions! Good value for money! Deeeeeelicious! A pub with genuine, friendly&kind staff - service with a difference! Worrafind!

Lovely pub, great staff, good pub grub quick service. We have the Steak & Ale Pie sharing platter, the pie wasn't massive but it was solid with quality meat, we would happily order it again
Richard H — Google review
Really nice atmosphere inside the pub, good food with generous portion sizes! Would recommend the baguettes
Ailie B — Google review
We called into The Old Sun Inn with friends. Everything from the welcome, the ambience, the food and the team were absolutely without fault. The menu is huge and very varied. There’s something for everyone. The team are really welcoming and do a fantastic job. My wife is a manual wheelchair user; we found the accessibility to be really good. There’s step-free access at the back and the inside of the pub is step-free. We really enjoyed our meal and I’m well chuffed I picked the Old Sun!

No.6 The Square Tearooms & Accommodation is a charming guesthouse located in the heart of Buxton, Derbyshire. It offers vintage-chic quarters and a delicious breakfast, set above a Regency tearoom. Situated in a picturesque square, it provides a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy delightful afternoon tea. The tearoom serves morning coffee, light meals, and traditional English afternoon tea using locally-produced ingredients.
We stayed for one night. A beautiful hotel in a great location, across from pavilion gardens walking distance from the station and parking direct outside. Well appointed and furnished rooms, and friendly, helpful staff. We had breakfast in the restaurant and highly recommend for breakfast or lunch if you're in Buxton.

Lovely place for a lunch and cuppa. The Derbyshire oatcakes are scrumptious! Thank you to all the staff for making our time here such a pleasant one.

We had our wedding reception at No.6 this weekend. It was absolutely fantastic, ran like clockwork and the team here are so lovely, welcoming and professional. The venue is stunning, and really showcases the unique heritage of Buxton in the beautiful High-Peak of North Derbyshire. The catering was out of this world and was exactly what we’d hoped it would be and more. Our guests were raving about the whole event - it was perfect!! We would recommend ‘No.6 The Tearooms’ to anyone who is looking for an intimate venue in a beautiful setting, any day of the week. We will be back to celebrate an anniversary without any doubt. Thanks!!

Friendly staff and well organised. Good quality food with a brilliant selection of cakes. Plenty of seating and facilities clean. This was our first visit, we will be back.
Richard E — Google review
I had hoped, after having travelled many miles, and booking well in advance, that afternoon tea would have been a lovely precursor to a show at the Opera House. Unfortunately it was not. There are 3 areas in the restaurant: a lovely lounge area, a cosy more rural themed area and the service area, where staff are coming back and forth and people pay at the till in front of the counter. On arrival I was seated in the service area. Someone really needs to get the staff to understand that afternoon tea is an experience not just food. That's why you pay more!!!!. However, after being relocated tea was brought out. The sandwiches were too thickly filled and had one half white bread and one half brown. It didn't taste right and staff should ask which is preferable. Then the Scones...just awful. I couldn't eat mine. So big, but dense, salty and dry. It was like eating a lump of brown bread with jam and cream. If it wasn't for the raisins I would have mistaken them for that. The cakes were nice, but only one pavlova and there were two of us. I would have reflected all this back, but no-one came to ask us if everything was ok. It was a busy day but that is no excuse. I still had to pay £54, not value for money and will not be back or be recommending.
Tracy A — Google review
Lovely place to eat,and very nice interior with different tea pots around the room. Food was very nice. Portion for the sandiwch and quiche was nice. Jacket potatoe found was a tad small compared to a normal jacket potatoe but everything still.tasted well and service is great. The dessert so many to choose from but the lemon cake and the choclate torte and freshly made scone and clotted cream was amazing. Would recommend

This charming old-fashioned hotel is located in the heart of the Peak District, opposite Buxtons striking Opera House. The rooms are richly decorated with antique furniture and features original 1573 artwork. There's also an elegant restaurant, atmospheric bar, and romantic courtyard. The hotel offers a full English breakfast buffet style, as well as yogurt and fruit in a large dining room.
I have only eaten at the old Hall, I haven’t stayed there, but I have to praise the food! Such good quality, generous portions, a really good choice. A daily special,s board is there every day. Good quality traditional menu. but made with skill. Lovely hot freshly prepared food, I strongly suggest it is the best food in Buxton.

Beautiful old hotel. A little tired but didn't deter, and the very old lift a bit of a hairy ride!! Lol part of charm and character Upgrade booking not updated. Four poster Room booked not available. Sadly Disappointed. Alistair dealt with well. Very theatrical! Alternative room spacious. Lovely double aspect. Massive bed. Small bathroom. Minimal tea tray, toiletries. Staff really lovely, service fabulous. Attentive. Helpful. Breakfast first day poor both hardly ate. Second day better breakfast alone. Evening meals delicious, beautiful dining room. Lovely relaxed lounge. Perfect location in centre. Beautiful surroundings. Will return

My daughter and I spent a wonderful day here at the Buxton Crescent spa for my birthday. It was a great experience. The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. The pools and saunas were lovely and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The lunch we had was delicious. We both had the Indian head massage treatments. Very relaxing and very chilled afterwards. Would definitely do this again.
Tracy — Google review
We plumped for a four-poster room that was spacious, decently appointed, but somewhat tired, with the bathroom in particular not seeming to have been cleaned with any real effort or conviction since the long-haired brunette who had clearly stayed before us. On the plus side, the large double bed was remarkably comfortable. The first experience was with a rather curt and disinterested bearded gentleman on reception, but redeemingly his reception colleagues elsewhere during our stay were polite and cheerful. The bar was cosy and welcoming albeit a tad expensive, with the late-night bar girl pleasant and chatty. Breakfast was a self-service affair, although the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The breakfast waiter was remarkably, politely and pleasingly exuberant.
Phil H — Google review
This is the second time we've stayed at the Old Hall Hotel. The first time we were really impressed and this time even more so. We had a beautiful large room, four poster bed, spotlessly clean. Beautiful towels and linen. Hospitality tray was excellent. Really enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast. So much choice, staff were very attentive. Parking outside and a three minute walk to the theatre. We will definitely be back.
Karen Y — Google review
Fantastic experience at a hidden gem. Went there with family for a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. We were given a huge plate of freshly carved roast beef, which was all home made (even the horseradish), followed by a scrumptious Eton Mess, all for an incredibly good price. Restaurant is in a great location as you can see the gardens outside. Beautiful, old world setting. Service was great too. The manager - who wore a Scottish kilt to honour the hotel's history - couldn't have been more helpful.
Helen E — Google review
We booked this through an online voucher at a good price. The hotel was beautiful. The staff were exceptional, couldnt have been more friendly or helpful. The evening meal was delicious and a great range of items at the buffet breakfast. Loved relaxing in the lounge after dinner. Great location too. Will definitely return
Tina B — Google review
This 16th century hotel is now inevitably getting a little tired with crumbling ceilings and broken window panes, however despite this it holds loads of charm with stories of famous old visitors and ancient furniture dotted around. Our Sunday roast meal was very nice and the staff are warm and friendly. Nicely situated next to the Pavilion Gardens and Opera House!

Sacro Lounge is a fantastic place to eat, with a good range of food that's reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the place has a great vibe. It's perfect for families or friends to have a meal together.
Clan was out and about in this area and stopped here for food. Vegetarian and vegan options were amazing so the orders began. The service was wonderful. We were seen to our table and the one child with us was given a kids menu that they could draw and colour in to keep them entertained. It was pretty busy so I expected some delays in the food yet it arrived quickly. The food was amazing. In fact it was so good I ordered more and that arrived just as promptly. The lady servicing us was so helpful and would advise on food and drinks. Desserts were lovely too and everyone left with full bellies as there was something for everyone and all due credit to the kitchen team, it came out pretty fast and was delicious. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area again. Enjoy.

I love local restaurants in Buxton, but I love this Sacro too. Staff is amazing, food is great especially when you go with kids - meals are cheap, fresh! It would be lovely to invest and buy a few toys for kids like jigsaws or small one to play at the table. We are visiting Sacro very often and I cannot say any bad word about this place!
Jagg — Google review
Such a lovely place. Really nice inside, our server was lovely. Didn't catch a name but for having only been working there 2 weeks we was really impressed. She went over our order carefully 3 times to make sure it was all correct due to our little girl having coeliacs disease. Food was 10/10. Such a shame we dont have one in Norwich.

Been in Sacro a few times and always enjoyed the food. Plenty of seating spaces available, great selection of drinks, food can be ordered via QR code which is very convenient.

We visit here every time we are in the area, and it is always brilliant! Lovely setting, staff are wonderful and food is incredible! Between us we had a couple of burgers (the diablo smash burger was great), a brunch and the pasta (pictured). Good variety of drinks and although we didn't have allergies, it seemed that these would be well catered for. The menu was clearly laid out for different diets too.

My husband had Pie of the day with amazing chips and vegetables. Excellent. Definitely recommend. We will go again. Also the table service was excellent. A good all rounder.

Went in yesterday with my wife, we both had the pulled pork cheese burger. I am gluten free so they pointed out couldn't guarantee the chips not 100% gluten free. I was happy with that and appreciated the honesty. Got to say both meals were fantastic, also the young lady who dealt with us was brilliant. Sorry didn't get her name but partner in the place. Also have to comment great choice of music playing, I would recommend this place all day long!

Absolutely amazing, lovely rooms! Great for an overnight stay. No problems whatsoever as we had what we needed. Just be aware though, it’s just the basics , so no hair dryer or iron which we were aware of, but one resident didn’t read her email and thought her room would be fully equipped! These rooms are above the pub, but ear plugs are provided upon entering your room. Staff at The Vault Pub were lovely, but they are nothing to do with the rooms. Only a 5minute walk to the town centre (which is a big bonus). Will definitely be staying here again when we visit Buxton

Fantastic pub, great food and kind staff. We arrived close to kitchen closing time but the staff were super welcoming and had no problems with us arriving a little later than the usual dinner service. Food was excellent and portions were generous. Overall a great experience.

Very modern, clean accommodation and would highly recommend for a mid week stay. However, we stayed on Saturday night and didn't get any sleep. It does warn when booking about the bar below staying open until 3am, but it makes no mention of the boy racers on motorbikes and car's with massive exhausts, zooming past until 4am at least!
Dani S — Google review
But further up into the main high street of Buxton town centre. Felt a little like it hadn't been kept on top of since opening, clean but could be cleaner. Chandeliers were nice but needed the one over, sticky table tops. It feels upcycled, which isn't a bad thing. Had a couple of cocktails which were OK. Syrups an no skills kind of cocktails but priced as if they were made properly. Not bad staff were very friendly.

Great place for a family lunch. The food was fab. My Vault Special burger was well tasty. All the staff were very friendly and made all of our family, which ranged from Great Grandma to great grand child who is 3 months old, very, very welcome.

Popped in for breakfast. Excellent service, great food and value and our Labrador was treated like a star! Certainly a great place to pop in and I'm sure food and drink at other times of the day are just as delicious x

Thai restaurant
Khomkhai Thai Cuisine is a delightful gem nestled in Buxton, where the essence of authentic Thai flavors comes alive. This charming restaurant prides itself on using the freshest herbs and spices sourced directly from Thailand, alongside locally procured ingredients like meat and vegetables. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted to cater to individual tastes, ensuring a personalized dining experience. Open from Tuesday to Sunday for both lunch and dinner, Khomkhai offers an inviting atmosphere that feels like home.
Absolutely stunning!!! Such a pretty restaurant, the food is to die for, the sauce with the chicken wings I could eat alone!! Really good food. Very attentive friendly staff. It’s a shame it’s set back off the market I don’t think enough people know it is there, plus my dog is allowed to join me which is a huge bonus point!! The best Thai food 😍
Sarah S — Google review
Came here for a Saturday evrning Meal, having been to many Thai restaurants, based on location, interior and reviews I thought it would be pretty good. I think the food is mediocre at best, it's catering for English tastes. Very bland small portions. We had the starter to share and everything was dripping in oil. Number 22 curry which does not come with rice, you have to buy separately, was very sweet and again small portions, not like the large deep bowls I'm used to. Also the food gets very cold quickly in these shallow dishes. All in all a very disappointing experience indeed.

Go here!!! The best Thai beef salad I have ever had. Food amazing and made by an authentic Thai Chef using only natural fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Staff are lovely and friendly, especially the lassie from Walker. Recommend highly

Absolutely fantastic food! This is mine and my friends fourth visit to Khomkhai and the food is always excellent. We will definitely be back again!

It's a hidden gem in Buxton for Thai lovers. We came to know about this place from a Thai originate lady who recommended to try this restaurant once. It's worth visiting if you are in Buxton and like to try Thai food. Service was a bit slow, but food was delicious. They have a good range of food options from starter to the Main dish. We tried their Duck as a main and it was soft, tender and juicy.

Our first evening (25th January) on our Peak District trip, (staying at Green Lane B&B, Buxton), we'd walked about 5mins to arrive at Khomkhai Thai restaurant (almost hidden away in the back alleyway). Good choices available in the food and drinks menus. The food came out hot and quickly. However, we discovered later on that we actually didn't have any scallops with our order of the sizzling "Talay Jan Ron" (in the menu it stated: mixed seafood of prawns, scallops, mussels and squid). Which was very disappointing as the presence of the scallops would justify the high price for this dish. Some dishes were alittle on the sweet side and some on the salty side. But overall, it was cooked and tasted ok. There are two front doors! With no clear signs we had to go with trial and error and found the entrance door was the one on the right-hand side. We were warmly greeted and seated by the young waitress. We didn't book but there were plenty of tables available (at 5.40pm, Wednesday 25th January), although most of them had been reserved for later dining (7pm onwards). The dining area is lovely decorated with Thailand Buddha sculptures, paintings and plants. Service was friendly from both the waitresses and the kitchen staff. There is a public paid car park opposite which provides free parking after 6pm.

Pizza Takeout
Restaurant
Nestled at the end of Spring Gardens beneath the Grove Hotel in Buxton, La Gaby Pizzeria is a must-visit for pizza lovers seeking an authentic Italian experience. This charming eatery specializes in traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas, crafted by hand and baked to perfection in a wood-fired brick oven. With ingredients sourced both locally from the Peak District and imported directly from Italy, diners can indulge in a variety of delectable toppings that cater to all tastes.
Booked a table here for before a show at the Opera House. The service was friendly and good and the pizzas were amazing. The dough is incredibly nice and fermented for 48 hours so it's really flavourful. The toppings are generous and there are some very interesting combinations. We had affogatto for dessert and it was very, very nice too.

We had lunch here today at 2:30pm Sunday 13/7/25 - restaurant looked busy as a popular place and due to the summer weather. We have eaten here before on numerous occasions. Staff looked like they had been very busy and struggling with the heatwave, we were informed they were turning the pizza oven off at 3pm for a well deserved cooling down, don’t blame them. So, we ordered the special pizza to share plus the fabulous garlic bread with cheese and some drinks. Very quick service and great food (fabulous), the team are excellent and very friendly. Delighted with food and will definitely see us again. Well done today dealing with the heat wave weather and also the pizza oven. A++++

An Unforgettable Visit to La Gaby Pizzaria, Buxton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food Authentic Italian Flavors: The hand-stretched dough is light and perfectly chewy, topped with vibrant San Marzano tomato sauce and creamy fior di latte. Fresh, Quality Ingredients: From the fragrant basil garnish to the house-made pesto drizzle, every topping bursts with freshness. Generous Portions: Each pizza is a hearty size, ideal for sharing—or savouring solo! Menu Variety: Beyond classic Margherita and Diavola, the seasonal specials (like the truffle-mushroom pizza) showcase the chef’s creativity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service Warm & Attentive: The entire team made us feel like welcomed guests; our server was knowledgeable and quick to anticipate our Personal Touch: Small gestures, like refilling water glasses promptly and checking in just at the right moments, elevated the experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere Charming Decor: Rustic brick walls, soft Edison bulbs, and vibrant Italian artwork create an inviting, cosy vibe. Relaxed Ambiance: Gentle background music and a laid-back seating arrangement make it perfect for date nights or family gatherings. Spotless & Comfortable: Tables are well spaced, the floors gleam and every corner feels thoughtfully maintained. Overall Experience: La Gaby Pizzaria in Buxton is a true pizza lover’s paradise. From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality, impeccable dishes, and delightful atmosphere combined to deliver an exceptional dining outing. Whether you’re craving a classic slice or eager to try inventive specials, this place won’t disappoint. Highly recommended for anyone seeking the best pizza north of Nottingham!

Excellent food, excellent service would definitely recommend! We came as a family- party of 5 this evening, we all had different pizzas and they were all delicious! For desert we shared the pistachio mousse and 2 different affogatos and these were also exceptional! Thank you for a wonderful evening, lovely music in the background and a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were really friendly, very accommodating and definitely went the extra mile! Thank you so much for such a lovely evening- from the Cortese family 😊

Lovely meal and beers. Great service from the staff. Dog friendly which is great. Food was very tasty. Portion sizes slightly small. The chicken ranch and BBQ burger, had quite a small piece of chicken and there were only 3 halloumi fries. The quality however was really good. Overall great service and tasty food.

Top quality all round! Recently booked out the Gig / stage area for a 30th Birthday and the service I received throughout was top notch. The help I received from Holly the event manager was fantastic. Answered every question under the sun, went above and beyond to make sure my requirements were met. Tina did everything possible to make sure we had a great night and it ran smoothly, the effort shown went above 5 stars. The food produced by the kitchen team was incredible, with a huge thankyou to chef Liv who made sure we were all satisfied and the food was well received. I could not fault the service throughout the event one single bit. Only let down was the night had to end at some point 😂 Thankyou again trackside!

It’s not quite a quaint as the upstairs taproom in the main brewery, but bigger and more accommodating for summer. Inside has a TV for sports, outside has plenty of seating. I had a breakfast bagel there, for £5 it was a bargain. It also goes without saying their beers good also.

Came down from Carlisle to visit my son and he took me here for dinner. They have a big daddy burger available from Father’s Day. The made me one a day early as it doesn’t go on the menu till tomorrow. Best burger I have ever had. Tasty and wow a lot to it. Excellent value for money. And what a selection of beers they have bought some to take home. Highly recommend this place. And the staff are really helpful and friendly. And a thank you to Leah for taking time to talk to us. Awesome place will definitely be back.

Good outside atmosphere. Dog friendly. Lots of seating. Good selection of beers including take out cans. Friendly staff Food unfortunately is a big let down. Ordered two different chicken burgers, both were very cheap cuts of chicken with cheap buns used. The chips were oven oven chip quality with barely any seasoning . The whole food quality was almost fast food quality which is disappointing for £15+ for a meal. Small portions also. Shame!

We had a great afternoon/evening carving pumpkins. We stayed on a bit later to eat there too and the burgers and wings were amazing. The only thing i would say is that after the carving the music stopped leaving the venue a little lacking in atmosphere.

The Frog on the Bine is a charming micro-pub nestled in Cavendish Circus, just a stone's throw away from the Opera House. This cozy spot offers a warm welcome and features 3 Cask and 8 Keg lines, making it an ideal destination for craft beer enthusiasts. The pub hosts regular live music, quiz nights, and other social events, creating a vibrant atmosphere for visitors.
Great new edition to Buxton's craft drinks scene, which is perfectly sandwiched between an outstanding European cafe/bar & Woodfired pizza takeaway (which you can incidentally eat on the premises 😉). Sympathetically updated to a very high standard, with an excellent curated selection of changing regional kegs and a friendly owner, clientele, and inclusive atmosphere. On my keeping list for my regular post hike or pre-gig visits to Buxton 🍻😁

Great craft beer bar in the middle of Buxton. When we visited they had 7 different keg beers covering a good range of styles, a cider and a cask beer on offer, as well as some other beers in the fridge, including a few AF beers (including a couple of beers from the excellent We Can Be Friends) to choose from. There's additional seating upstairs, so don't let it put you off if it looks busy from the street, and they're dog friendly downstairs. They don't serve food, but you can order from The Cavendish Kitchen next door, and if you tell them where you're sat they'll bring your pizza to your table.

We spent an awesome week in Buxton last week and unfortunately (for us) left the best until the last. We popped in on the final night of our stay and within 5 minutes of being inside regretted not coming in sooner. We arrived halfway through a pub quiz of clearly regulars and friends, fearing the American Werewolf in London “You made me miss” feeling that strangers in a cosy bar/pub sometimes receive. That couldn’t have been further from the truth, from patrons to the owners we felt right at home and 100% will be back way earlier in our next stay. If/when we are locals we will be part of the furniture here. Bo was the best pub dog we met on our trip too

Absolutely amazing place for a drink! Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, always inclusive and welcoming to all. It's my now go to when I Buxton and enjoy every visit! I would highy recommend a visit if you are looking for a drink and chat. Lots of great people to chat too and as mentioned always very welcoming. It's also nice to have a true LGBTQ friendly place to drink when you can just be yourself.

A lovely independent bar in Buxton, serving a great choice of cask, keg and alcohol free beers and cider, as well as wine and spirits. Andrew and Cat are excellent hosts who take great pride in their business and choice of drinks. They are very dog friendly and frequented by very friendly customers. There’s always someone to have a chat with, or you can be comfortable if you want to keep yourself to yourself. Although they only sell snacks, I have given 5 stars for food, due to their arrangement with the wood fired pizza shop next door.

First time visiting, great atmosphere and friendly staff. I hosted a baby shower upstairs. Upstairs is such a great space, beautiful stained glass windows and really nicely decorated. Downstairs had a great vibe also, it seems like a great spot to enjoy some local beer and they’re dog friendly :)

Nestled in the heart of Buxton, The New Inn stands proudly as one of Britain's highest village pubs, perched at an impressive 1,518 feet above sea level. This charming establishment boasts a traditional vibe with a contemporary twist, featuring rustic grit stone walls and a welcoming atmosphere. With four handpulls showcasing local brews—most notably from Storm Brewery—you'll find delightful options like Trooper and Robinsons Double Hop on tap.
This is a seriously good pub. Beautiful decor. Comfortable seating. Great range of beers and a selection of pastry dishes available, we had between us, sausage rolls, scotch eggs and pasties. Service was very good and extremely friendly. This is how pubs should be. Highly recommended.

Lately I’m finding Buxton buzzing and returning to its former glory… I spent many years as a kid here and my dear late grandfather used to consider The New Inn ‘his spot’ . After a few years closed imagine how delighted I am to see an independent offer and the glorious doors swinging open once again. Gorge refurbishment using traditional materials, colours and furniture… very cozy nooks and crannies, open fireplaces and even a ‘snug’ at the rear… The menu is made up of easy crowd pleasing items, if you’re looking for a Sunday roast this is not the place but they do have a tasty brunch menu and full marks for bringing something a little different. My deep fried cod baguette and fries was tasty and simple whilst my chum munched away on a Wagyu brunch burger in silence so I can only assume it hit the spot… Beer offer looked great and I hear well kept plus there are plenty of wine and soft drink options. Lovely job

Queenie's Tea Room and Gift Shop is a charming spot in Buxton that offers a delightful cafe experience paired with a unique shopping adventure. The tea room serves homemade cakes, light snacks, and an array of beverages, including ice cream for dogs. It's known for being an official stockist of Frenchic Paint, drawing enthusiasts seeking advice from the friendly staff.
One of Buxton's gems. Queenie sells Frenchiq paints and brushes which is a big draw, but her cake and coffee is very reasonably priced and excellent quality. Plus you can chat to Lynn if she's not too busy serving, for advice on using the paint products. There's also a great selection of gift items which are again very reasonably priced and I found some great Christmas presents here!
