Modern British restaurant
Ox Club is an award-winning restaurant located in Leeds city center, known for its grill cooking and elevated comfort food. The menu features a mix of à la carte, prix fixe, and brunch options with bold and creative dishes such as English asparagus with smoked lamb bacon and cornish sardines with vine leaves.
Heard about the steak and fries offer for £16 so thought we’d check it out. Steak is done perfectly to my requested liking, generous portion of chips and their in house made butter complements the meal perfectly. We also got it with peppercorn sauce which was well made and perfectly seasoned. Service is good too. First time I came for this and would come again for this deal and possibly to try other things on the menu! Very naturalistic interior and chilled atmosphere too.

Best British food I’ve ever had! I love all the sauces, seasoning was on point! Their menu changes too. Didn’t have to prebook if you come 6pm, I guess it’s early dinner, plenty seats. Great service, waiter gave good recommendations and very friendly, enjoyed our time there very much. My favourite was the ox heart with oyster sauce, it was an interesting texture that almost didn’t taste like heart (I’ve had chicken heart before) and the oyster sauce was creamy with a hint of oyster, I really enjoy the natural flavour of the ingredients, they were paired and chosen well. The mutton kofta itself was a bit tough and salty and in my opinion would’ve been better medium rare. The cherry tomatoes came with it were the best I’ve had, juicy and good balance of sweet and sour. The medium rare steak with pepper sauce was great too, we ordered fries on the side. Again the pepper sauce was excellent, it had a spicy kick to it, I’d buy all of their sauces. Steak was done well too. The basque cheesecake was ok, standard good cake, not too sweet.

Came for a special occasion, was great to go to Headrow house for some drinks before hand. Waiters gave good recommendations for food and made it feel really special. The steak and chips deal was delicious, it was clear that despite being one of the cheapest dishes this did not have an impact on the quality. Would definitely recommend.
Oliver W — Google review
Elevated British cuisine ⭐ The portions are not massive but the food is absolutely delicious! Such a treat. Perfect service, attentive but not overbearing. Absolutely loved it!
Aniela A — Google review
Really cool vibe in the restaurant. The menu is pretty limited and for £90 I don’t think we received enough steak for our money. The bread is insanely good and everything was tasty. Service was average and they do make a good negroni but I don’t think this warranted a £20 service charge.
Emily E — Google review
Delicious hidden gem in centre of Leeds. The service is outstanding, food is perfect, love the bbq concept. Highly recommended.
Simeon R — Google review
Not sure where this 4.7 rating came from, must be paid ads or something. The food was seriously average. I was actually shocked at how badly they managed to do the most famous Spanish dish, the padrón peppers. The skin wasn’t even cooked through, seasoning was way too salty. Took one bite and sent it back. When the waiter asked what was wrong, we told her this just isn’t how it’s supposed to be done. She shrugged and said “well, that’s padrón peppers.” We were speechless. Look, I’m no chef, but I’ve had them in Spain and this was nothing alike. As for the steak, which I assume is meant to be their signature, it wasn’t anywhere near as tender or high quality as I expected. I’ve seen their Instagram photos and I’ll give credit, whoever took those pictures is seriously talented, because the real thing is miles off. The vibe inside is decent, I’ll admit, good for a date spot, but the food was honestly poor. If you think this is the best you’ve had, maybe you just haven’t had proper food before. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that’s the truth. And when we left, not even a goodbye from the staff. Guess they just can’t handle criticism.😅 And let’s be real, if you’re charging that kind of money, the dishes need to live up to the price tag. They absolutely didn’t. Terrible experience, won’t be coming back. Oh, and to make it worse, this was me and my partner’s two-year anniversary dinner. Couldn’t have been more disappointing.
X — Google review
So good that we travel from our home in Leicester for Sunday roast here. Also went to the recent 10 course tasting menu, both meals were, as ever, outstanding. The service also matches the quality of the food. Cannot speak highly enough of either. Thanks to all at the Ox Club for treating us so well.

Tharavadu is a renowned Keralan restaurant located in Leeds, offering a modern dining experience with traditional Indian cuisine. The restaurant has been recommended by the Michelin guide for three consecutive years and is known for its authentic Keralan dishes. The menu features a variety of options including meat, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. With floor-to-ceiling windows and polished wood floors, the venue provides a contemporary setting to enjoy South Indian flavors.
Fantastic food, flavours i've never experienced before. Excellent service. Upstairs can be a bit loud with large groups dining, conversation was difficult at times but didn't spoil our enjoyment of a wonderful meal. Next time i'll request a quieter table downstairs though.

What an amazing experience. I loved the food so much, some of the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten! The vegan options are really good- their take on poppadoms are so tasty and the fried lentil rings are unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Can’t wait to go back!
Beth H — Google review
We went here for the first time after contemplating for long but oh my, the food was top level👌👌 We ordered two Kerala parathas, Meen Kootan, Kozhi Kurumulog(Chef’s Special) and it was more than enough for three people. I personally loved Chef’s special more than Meen Kootan but my friends really loved Meen Kootan. We also ordered mango lassi and Pranaya Rasam(strawberries with lime) and I really loved the fresh strawberries taste in it instead of having some syrupy taste to it. Service was so good, the people over there are so smiling, very sweet, and a person named Roni served us and he was so friendly and very attentive. Would recommend going again as well. Thank you.
PREETHIKA S — Google review
Came here on a friends recommendation and no regrets! The service was friendly and prompt, even seating is earlier than we had booked due to heavy rain outside which was nice! The food was excellent, every mouthful just made me smile, I had the seafood curry and it was spot on. Certainly be back! My only quibble was the seating we had was near the toilets and the washroom for pots, quite noisy and busy with staff moving in and out.
Jamie S — Google review
Amazing staff! Even though the place was packed with customers, everyone was attended to with such genuine smiles and great energy. As for the food , I don’t even need to say much! The crowd spoke for itself. truly lived up to the hype. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy real, delicious Kerala cuisine served with warmth and hospitality!
Kamalapriya — Google review
Visited on a bustling Monday, and it’s easy to see why it was packed! The authentic Kerala cuisine was absolutely phenomenal, with a spice blend that brought incredible depth and flavour to every dish. While it’s not the cheapest, the quality makes it worth every penny. Highly recommend for a true taste of Kerala, definitely different from the mainstream.

Absolutely superb! The food was fantastic, beautifully presented and totally delicious - The Keralan flavours, decor and music made for a unique and memorable experience. The staff were also superb - friendly, helpful and clearly very proud of their cuisine and culture

tharavadu in leeds is a south indian restaurant specialising in dishes from kerala. it’s a great spot if you’re looking for something different from the usual north indian or pakistani/punjabi style cuisine you normally find in the uk. we tried chilli paneer, kerala kozhi curry, kozhi kurumulag, vazhuthananga curry, and paper masala dosa. overall, it was great. i really enjoyed trying proper kerala dishes. the curries were delicious though i felt there wasn’t a huge amount of variation between them, all with a similar coconut taste. the cocktails and drinks were very good, and the service was excellent, with staff who were friendly and helpful. coined the “best restaurant in leeds”. a very grand statement to make, especially as leeds is full of amazing spots. however i do believe that tharavadu is definitely up there with the greats of leeds. i really recommend you go and see for yourself.

Beer hall
Bundobust Leeds is a casual craft beer bar that offers a menu of Indian street food in a laid-back setting with bare brick walls and wooden benches. The venue, a collaboration between the owner of Bradford's The Sparrow and the chef from West Yorkshire's Gujarati restaurant Prashad, boasts a street-food vibe, DIY decor, and an impressive selection of craft beers.
The food was really excellent. We got a sharing-meal for three or four people. Can’t remember exactly but there was plenty of food and lots of variety in the dishes. Would probably visit Leeds again just to go here! The tables could be a bit bigger considering so many people get sharing meals!
Keith M — Google review
I really enjoyed the flavors and creativity in the dishes, everything was tasty and well-prepared. However, I found the portion sizes a bit on the smaller side, and the seasoning was slightly heavy, especially the salt and MSG. With a few adjustments, it could be even better. Still, a unique and enjoyable dining experience overall.
Gowri S — Google review
Great experience, slightly out of the ordinary with sharing platter snad street food. Shared the vegan platter and paneer, good beer on tap as well. Would definitely recommend
Andy R — Google review
“Shall we pop in here or get the next train?” Wow did we make the right choice were head No off to India in a couple of months so I joked it would be good practice. It’s actually a culinadelight of mini street food style dishes that blow ur mind. I’m a presidential member of the carnivore society but I reckon I could be very easily turned if.i lived near establishments like this. Oh yeah, cracking beers to boot 10/10.
Chris R — Google review
I really wished we lived in Leeds so we could visit more often! Every time we are in town Budobust is always top of the list of our places to visit. All the food is amazing. My favourite is the panneer tikka and my wife's is the bundo chaat. This visit was just a quick pit stop on our way for the train so just a quick snack but we will definitely be back soon!
Andy J — Google review
This place is absolutely brilliant. We moved to Leeds about six months ago, and pretty much everyone we met told us we had to try Bundobust. After finally going, we now feel a bit foolish for waiting so long!— It’s not your typical Indian restaurant. The vibe is relaxed and informal, and the food is something else — creative, exciting, and packed with flavours we’d never tried before. It’s all vegetarian (with loads of vegan options too), but trust me, you won’t miss the meat. Dishes like the Palak Koftas and Mung Bean Chatpata were total standouts. One of the best parts is that everything is designed to share, so we were able to try loads of different dishes between the three of us. The whole experience felt and different, not your standard curry night out. And if you're into beer, you're in luck — Bundobust also doubles as a great little beer spot. There’s a solid range, from crisp lagers to punchy IPAs, and even a proper bitter. My partner loved their twist on a radler — a shandy made with spiced Indian lemonade. Oh, and did I mention the value? Three of us absolutely stuffed ourselves (with drinks!) for £20 a head. Can’t argue with that. Bottom line: if you’re in Leeds and haven’t been to Bundobust yet, don’t wait like we did — just go.
Matt O — Google review
This is a find for me First time visitor to Leeds and was recommended this is nice and cheap So walked in and basically jt js branded as street food but I don’t think I have been to any part of india where some of there are sold as steeet food You pick a table and walk in and order and some food is cheap and place is full of students so I felt out The food tasted ok and I like the atmosphere Maybe as a place to try and whilst this is a vegetarian place it is ok I may not go again there
Sonny C — Google review
Absolute garbage food. But then again I am not a vegan. If you are and this is what you eat, bless you. We went as a group so wasn't bothered about the food, I was there for the chats, we did order but it was horrible food. Very pricey too, you'd think that the price would be for the value

Pasta shop
Sarto is a cozy Italian restaurant located just south of the bus station in Munro House. The menu features a selection of carefully crafted handmade pasta dishes, small plates, and an impressive array of cocktails, wine, and draught beer. The restaurant exudes a cool canteen vibe with light wood tables and exposed brickwork, offering a unique dining experience. Sarto's well-considered ingredients and frequently changing wine list sourced from local wineries make it a standout spot for food enthusiasts.
This place is fantastic. The food is spot on (the sort you can’t stop thinking about afterwards), the staff are friendly and helpful. We were looked after so well. Being vegan, it’s often difficult to find a decent choice but Sarto have plenty of choice of food and drinks (including good vegan wine) I had the spaghetti confit aglio e olio, chilli which for a simple dish was an absolute taste sensation. I honestly can’t recommend it enough! I don’t have a sweet tooth so the sgroppino was the perfect dessert for me. (Lemon sorbet whipped with vodka and Prosecco. What’s not to like?) Can’t wait to go back and eat it all again!

Called in here last minute before a gig at the wardrobe. The staff were very friendly and although all the tables were full, made room for us to sit in the window seating to enjoy our dinner. The food was gorgeous, very tasty, decent sized portions. Everything tasted homemade and well thought out, pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection and the sauces were delicious. I am not sure how often dishes change but I had a lamb ragu dish which I really enjoyed, my friend had a gnocchi which again she thought was gorgeous.
Richard L — Google review
I was craving some authentic Italian Pasta and after a lot of browsing, came across this wonderful restaurant. Nestled in a cosy corner near Leeds bus station, this place is a gem for all pasta lovers. Honestly, we made a reservation at the last minute and though we ended up arriving a bit early, we were seated right away. The Arancini, we ordered was delicious and so was the Fettuccine pasta with wild mushrooms. We got a seat adjacent to the window and enjoyed our meal whilst watching the moving traffic on a Sunday afternoon. Would like to try the other items on the menu on my next visit.
Aditi D — Google review
Had a lovely Saturday evening at Sarto! Want to highlight the service from the staff which was exceptional. They were so friendly and welcoming. We had dietary restrictions and they were amazing in explaining and identifying what we would be able to order. Thank you Holly and Sam! We ordered the focaccia and Campanelle and tomato radiatori and the portions for the mains were huge, plenty to takeout for leftovers! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Rukaiyah D — Google review
First experience of Sarto and it was overall very good. I thought there were a few small let downs that could be very easily improved. Beers on tap are lovely, I had arancini to start and it was divine. Other members of my group had the focaccia with balsamic dip which I tried and couldn’t fault, absolutely delicious. Awareness crept in early that I was seated on a hard wooden bench with no back, completely uncomfortable and continued to get progressively more fidgety with it as the evening went on. Why put your customers in such discomfort? Confit duck rigatoni for main, very rich, portion size perfect, pasta was the absolute triumph here. Whilst eating could see a chalk board with inordinately small writing on the wall at the other end of the restaurant. The specials it transpired. Never mentioned to us when menus came out or when ordering, was completely unaware of some other potential delicious food and at that time it was too late. Further disappointment! I tried some of the tomato, basil and mozzarella radiatori from one of my friends. Delicious! Ordered tiramisu for dessert. Let down. The mascarpone cream had gone hard and was very cold, wasn’t fresh whatsoever, very little chocolate dashed across the top. This was the biggest shame of the evening. Overall it I enjoyed the food a lot, but there were some simple things that could be improved. I will go again sometime, but won’t be rushing back
Andrew W — Google review
Nice tasty selection of Side, Main, Desserts and Drinks. Gluten free, Vegetarian & Vegan option is also available. Lovely friendly staffs. Variety of seats.

Pasta was incredible, I like how many of the flavours are not typically what you’d find. I’ve been here three times over the past few months, ordering different things every time and it has always been nothing short of a delight. I have recommended many people here and they have all loved Sarto’s. The staff are all lovely as well.
Olivia Y — Google review
This is my favourite pasta place in Leeds! The food is great quality, freshly made, tasty and they have options for everyone. The portion size is just right and they have a great selection of wines to enjoy with the pasta. It's a casual place with a great atmosphere and really friendly staff! They change the menu often which is great for trying something new when returning, which you absolutely will want to do!

Chinese restaurant
Tattu Leeds is a stunning restaurant that pays close attention to detail, offering contemporary Chinese cuisine with a blend of traditional and modern flavors. The restaurant's design takes guests on a sensory journey from the East to the West, featuring dark woods, rich lighting, and a signature pink blossom tree. With an upcoming addition to their menu like the Char Sui Monkfish and an array of meaningful cocktails, Tattu Leeds offers a unique dining experience.
A great night out at Tattu Leeds From the moment we walked in, we were really impressed. The place looks amazing — the decoration is beautiful and the whole vibe is perfect for a nice evening out (and great for photos too!). The food was delicious, full of flavour and really well presented. But what made the whole experience even better was the service. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and they paid attention to all the little details without being over the top. Shout out to Millie, who looked after us, she was fantastic. She knew the menu really well and took the time to explain things and make sure we felt comfortable with our choices. Really appreciated how patient and helpful she was. All in all, it was a lovely experience and definitely good value for money. Would absolutely recommend and can’t wait to go back!

I had a wonderful lunch today with my friends and everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Our waiter Deriel was absolutely brilliant. He was friendly, attentive, and gave us great recommendations that made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food and outstanding hospitality. We'll definitely be coming back!

Genuinely some of the best and friendliest service I have ever had. Front of house and the bar were very welcoming. Ryan was waiting on my table and was brilliant, offering some really good recommendations as well as some general chit chat. Food was fantastic. Scallop skewers and black pepper beef fillet my highlights. I had 2 small plates, 1 main, 1 side, dining solo. Arguably did not need the side of rice.

We visited Tattu for a pre-birthday celebration thanks to a gift card from my friends, and it turned into an unforgettable dining experience. Every dish looked like a piece of art and tasted even better – from beautifully presented starters to the incredible dessert, a cake disguised as a cotton candy tree 🍰🌸. A huge shout-out to Mostafa and Omari, who were absolutely amazing throughout the evening – friendly, professional, and really made us feel special. Their service truly elevated the whole experience. Highly recommend for anyone who wants more than just dinner – this was a true culinary journey!
Babs B — Google review
Absolutely delicious meal from their pre 5.30 reasonable menu with some extra dishes. Pork Belly and Scallop starters were stand out and the mains were also excellent - with duck egg fried rice, something so fairly simple but a lovely accompaniment. Denise G was our attentive waitress. A perfect birthday meal. We'll be back.
Paul W — Google review
Excellent special occasion venue for our anniversary. We love Chinese and Thai food and this was of an exceptionally high quality. Service from Ryan in particular was outstanding, at the level of Michelin star with his attentiveness, description of the dishes and at all times making sure we were happy. Leave the table and the staff made sure we knew where everything was. We opted for the Signature menu which provided a brilliant selection, the duck with pancakes was incredible, the beef and salmon were perfectly cooked and the angry bird was packed with flavour, the duck fried rice was the perfect accompaniment. We will definitely return.
Trevor D — Google review
Great as always! There is not one thing to fault this place, steamed fish was hands down the best fish I’ve ever had! It’s also child friendly place which is a massive plus as being new parents.
Agnese J — Google review
Wow. I visited here with my family on a trip to Leeds and it was outstanding cuisine. We were served by a tall chap (can’t remember his name) with curtains and glasses, spoke really well, ran us through the menu and we felt well and truly looked after. He was a gem. The quality of food was just otherworldly and we all enjoyed it very much and left nothing behind. Value is also reasonable and the decor and atmosphere is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming suburb of Meanwood, Zucco is a contemporary Italian restaurant and bar that has quickly become a local favorite. This inviting eatery, run by brothers Rosario and Michael Leggiero, boasts an aesthetic that combines black and white floor tiles with sleek subway wall tiles and a rustic tin ceiling.
We came to Zucco on their winter tasting night. We’ve been a few times and have always been impressed with the tasty food and the friendly staff. Tonight the highlights were the breaded artichoke, bean and whipped ricotta salad and the strawberry sorbet! Every course was really flavourful and there were a couple of treats thrown in! Can’t recommend this place enough

This was our first visit to this small italian restaurant in the centre of Meanwood. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient assisting with the nuances of the menu. The concept is one of sharing your dishes similar to Spanish tapes, so that's what we did. The food was unusual and delicious with good-sized portions. An all round great evening and I will certainly be going back.

10/10 food and service. I can see why everyone raves about Zucco! Bubbly atmosphere, delicious food and very attentive staff. I can't wait to come back already 😍

Zucco isn't just the best restaurant in Leeds, it's arguably one of the best in the country. Great food, attentive (but not over-attentive) service and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Starting with the food, we had several plates shared across the table and each was mouth-wateringly delicious. A special mention for the arancini which are world-class! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the decor in the restaurant is beautiful. A real gem of a restaurant that deserves every accolade it has received. A big thank you to all the staff from all of us.

My no.1 favourite place to eat in Meanwood! Food was great, services were extremely friendly. We managed to have counter seatings without booking. But definitely recommend to book in advance.

Planned to go to Hana Matsuri across the road but they were closed. Spotted Zucco because I happened to have parked in front of it. Having seen that the place was packed - following a quick google (to check the rating) decided to walk in, in my running attire. Was definitely the most casually dressed but was welcomed very warmly regardless. I’ve been trying a new restaurant in Leeds every Friday, it’s become a sort of tradition. Zucco exceeded my expectations (perhaps sometimes it really is best not to overthink where to eat and just walk in to a place on a whim). The things I loved about Zucco: 1. The food was really very good: especially the ‘Pan fried king scallops, prawns, squid and saffron risotto’, I could smell the saffron and the scallops were cooked perfectly - the entire dish was just plate licking worthy. I think it was the best risotto I have ever had. 2. I loved the attention to detail: such as the fact that they provide a steak knife instead of a regular butter knife as part of their normal table set up 🍴, the fact that they always ask you if you’re sharing a dish when taking your order so that they can provide you with adequate extra plates and the fact that they print out up to date menus every day to reflect seasonal/fresh produce they have on the day etc. 3. All the staff are so friendly and efficient: I even witnessed the bar tender changing roles briefly to welcome some diners and act as the host/waitress - he did it seamlessly and with a smile on his face. This was so lovely to witness because customer service has really suffered since Covid and has never really recovered in so many other eateries across the UK. Special mention to my waitress Julia - she was genuinely lovely and made me feel so welcome at Zucco that I will no doubt be back very soon to try the rest of the menu! 4. They do not add an “optional service charge” to your bill: which is so rare these days and just amazing to see because it makes you want to tip appropriately for the wonderful food and service received instead of feeling obligated to pay an arbitrary service charge that you might not feel adequately reflects your experience. 5. The loos were well designed and always clean: which is particularly impressive given how busy they were.

Authentic, tasty and friendly restaurant in the heart of meanwood. All the staff were incredibly hospitable, attentive and polite, and every meal we had tasted fresh, very very authentic and was of great portion size. Pricing was very fair given the high quality and good portion sizes. Lots of options of starters, mains ( including meat, fish, and vegetarian options) and desserts ! We loved the beef parpadelle, mussel pasta and Arancini ! We absolutely loved this place and will be recommending to all our friends and family ! Ideal for a date night or cosy pasta / Italian night with friends!

Stuzzi is a trendy dining spot that brings the essence of classic Italian cuisine to life, featuring an array of delectable pasta and seafood dishes. What sets Stuzzi apart is its dynamic small plates menu, which changes weekly, inviting guests to return for new culinary adventures. The restaurant prides itself on crafting unique interpretations of traditional recipes using high-quality ingredients sourced both locally and from Italy.
Stuzzi is a fantastic value for money small plates Italian right in the middle of Leeds. You can tell that a lot of effort has been put into the menu and quality ingredients are used. The larger pasta dishes are the stars of the show, perfectly cooked pasta that you just want more of. The cocktails are also great, some fantastic combinations you wouldn't think of! The price is also really reasonable for a small plates concept. Would definitely recommend.

If you wear Carhartt jackets and Solomon’s, this is one for you (or let’s be real, your instagram story). Booked this for an anniversary meal, having been recommended by a friend. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly, but the food didn’t live up to the expectations. I ordered 3 small plates and two mains, none of which had flavour - the mains were also incredibly salty. I’ve found Leeds is home to much tastier and better priced Italian restaurants.

Easily my favourite restaurant in Leeds. Whenever I have friends visiting Leeds for the first time I always take them to Stuzzi, simply the best. I go there with the highest expectations every time and they still somehow manage to impress me. Thank you team for all the amazing food I’ve had with you over the years! They always have great wine selection and recommendations, always great service and such a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic service levels and an interesting and varied menu with dishes ranging in size from "amusingly tiny plate" to "that's a decent portion", some care is needed when sharing, note the "each" on some menu items, especially for the bite-sized crostini. Ingredients are clearly top level and they're combined to create some really great dishes. The cavolfiore (unexpected olive stone aside) and artichoke insulata were stand-out and the sampler pudding assortment was a real treat, at a substantial price. The sardine "fritti" was possibly the most fishy thing I've ever encountered in my life, I expected "fishy" as it's sardines but this was turned up to 11 and then some, I couldn't eat it and could taste the bite I did manage the next day. At £112 for 2, including the 12.35% service charge (worth every penny, they're top notch) and the £1.23 for a "gift tree", it felt a bit expensive for what it was but I'm so pleased to have finally experienced Stuzzi. I'd recommend it to anyone to try at least once.

Had the deep fried lasagne from your van in Trinity Kitchens. The original was nice, tasty. The tomato and basil deep fried lasagne was kind of tasteless without the sauce & had no seasoning. It was definitely over hyped in my head.

Eat Your Greens is a versatile establishment that operates as both a grocery store and a restaurant with a wine bar. During the day, it functions as a greengrocer offering organic produce and gifting items from local suppliers. At night, it transforms into an eatery serving up delectable dishes made from largely organic ingredients.
Calm atmosphere, friendly staff, and genuinely some of the best vegan dishes I've had in some time. While the price point is higher than I usually go for, the vegan options on the menu (around 80%) were well worth the price. I highly recommend the Farinata, the Greens, and the pecan pie. I'll say it again - make sure to leave room for the pecan pie. Beautifully presented and absolutely delightful.

Love, love, love. One of my favourite places in Leeds that keeps me coming back again and again. The food never misses - it's interesting, delicious, different, beautifully balanced and cooked to perfection. Absolutely worth the price. The atmosphere is spot on: warm, relaxed, with great music (always 🤌🏼) and the service is even better. Having worked in hospitality myself, I know how exhausting it can be dealing with the public, but the team here always comes across as genuine and kind. They offer honest recommendations and genuinely seem to want you to have the best experience. I honestly can't recommend Eat Your Greens enough. Whether you're visiting Leeds or you're a local - go. You won't be disappointed.

This is a fantastic restaurant and bar. We turned up one night for food without booking, and even though they were full, they kindly sat us at the bar, and proceeded to efficiently serve us a series of wonderfully tasty plates of food and drinks. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the place had a lovely atmosphere. The food was so yummy, really good quality, and fantastic value as well. I am vegan and the vegan options were numerous and excellent! Would definitely go again when I am next in Leeds, and would recommend to others!

Two of us popped in on the off chance without a booking on a busy Saturday night, and they were brilliant about finding us a table. We really liked their online-only menu – a great idea for a restaurant that clearly focuses on fresh, changing dishes. The quality of the food is outstanding. We ordered the hummus, roasted corn cobs, and an absolutely delicious mushroom dish. The organic wine and beer were excellent as well. This place is a gem, and we can't wait to come back next time we're in Leeds.

The Man Behind The Curtain is a multi-space eatery located on Vicar Lane in Leeds, run by chef Michael O'Hare. The restaurant offers a signature special of steak and chips for 5 and is known for its mix of food space, beer hall, gig location, and sceney rooftop. It's also dog-friendly with fluffy pals often featured on the Instagram page.
Sublime food, exquisite surroundings, slightly unnerving but I guess that's deliberate. Had the 6 for 60 menu and worth every penny. Thank you to Michael O'Hare for giving us experiences like this to look forward to.

It'd been several years since we'd been to The Man Behind the Curtain - before it had moved from above Flannels to below it in fact. We were delighted to find that the experience and quality of food were as good as they'd been before. Ahead of our meal we enjoyed a delicious Vermouth and snacks in the lounge area before being escorted to our table for the meal proper to begin. As when we'd visited previously each of the dishes was fantastic with Emancipation once again being a highlight. The duck dish that followed it was equally good. Service was excellent and at a nice, leisurely pace so the meal never felt rushed. The surroundings and music were as impressive as ever and it was just a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening. Hats off to Michael O'Hare.

We dined at TMBTC last night and what an incredible experience! The food was absolutely spot on. We opted for the standard wine pairing and the service was absolutely incredible - Tom and Dom are a real credit to the restaurant. As it was my birthday they allowed us to tour the kitchen during service to see ‘behind the curtain’! An amazing night all round and we can’t wait to see what changes the new year brings!

We had a phenomenal first experience at the restaurant after plenty of raved recommendations. The service was highly attentive and the food was created with so much flare & flavour that cannot be faulted. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Wow! What can I say….an excellent culinary experience. We had the taster menu with matching wine pairings and we were blown away with the food and drinks we were served. Not everything was as it seemed, but that’s the skill of the chefs and Michael O’Hare (who we actually met!). Highly recommend, it is expensive but you get what you pay for, the service from start to finish was impeccable.
Yiddo24 — Google review
First off, and surprisingly given the nature of the food, it was an utterly unpretentious experience. No stony faced waiters, no cold formal ambience, just a genuinely relaxed evening with warm and friendly staff. The kind of place (if not for the smart dress code) which makes you feel you could pop in for a quick bite to eat in your comfies! We went for the permanent collection with the prestige drinks pairing. I hadn't looked at the menu ahead of time so every time the table was reset for the next course, I was excited to see what I was going to get. And I wasn't disappointed. The food and presentation was delicious and just a whole lot of fun. My particular favourite was the pate and caviar! OK, it isn't cheap, but think of it as paying for an experience where the food is just included. We were there for about 3.5 hours in total and enjoyed every second. We were told they're due to launch a new menu, so I have no doubt we'll be back!
Lynette G — Google review
We've been wanting to come here for a couple of years and it certainly didn't disappoint. Yes; it's very expensive, the drinks menu is quite limited, but the food was like nothing we've ever eaten before. All of the dishes we're very imaginative, crazy, quirky, but most importantly delicious. We had the matched juice for each course which were equally surprising but all very tasty. The chefs clearly take pride in what they've created. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Stephen L — Google review
How many different ways can you say wow?! What an experience. Definitely worth a visit, although due to the prices not somewhere you can visit too often, unless you're rolling in money! That being said for a special occasion treat it's well worth the expenditure. Each course delighted us just as much or more than the one before it. The staff were amazing, so attentive and friendly. I can't pick any faults not even a small one. The restaurant itself is trendy and opulent. Even the toilets are decadent. What a way to spend my birthday.

Friends of Ham is a laid-back hangout located on two floors, offering artisan charcuterie and cheese platters along with craft beers. Visitors highly recommend trying the burnt Basque cheesecake, which is described as creamy, soft, and slightly bitter in all the right places. The venue also offers a variety of other delectable desserts such as Tiramisu. Additionally, it's considered one of the best bars in Leeds city center for those who enjoy cheese and meat deli options.
Was down in Leeds for work and was recommended this place and WOW! Everything about it was spot on. Great and friendly staff; food that was sensational and a brilliant selection of drinks that you can't get in many other places. Only place outside of Scotland I've seen the Vault City Iron Brew (otherwise known as the greatest drink ever created). Can't wait for my next trip to Leeds to return and for now my wallet can breathe as the worry about how much I'd spend if this was in Glasgow is real.

Such a lovely place in the city centre and so close to the train station. The menu has a great variety and is perfect for sharing. The nduja toast and meatballs were perfectly cooked and went down a treat. I'd reccomend the mushroom pasta as well, really fresh and filling. One thing that stood out was the great service! Will definitely be back. For the city centre and the quality of the food the prices are really reasonable!

Just a quick review. I spent a few days in Leeds as a solo female traveller. I used Ham & Friends as a base to meet friends and a date. I love the atmosphere the food and the care the staff provided. Kaycee is a gem, I didn’t catch the names of the two other bar staff, I wish I had because they all made my visit so welcomming and safe. It will forever be my first stop for lunch and wine on my next visit. Recommend to everyone. I may have to book you for a quietly raucous 50th?!! Perfect people watching window. Thank you.

Enjoyed lovely wine, ham and small plates at this place. Good value for the quality. We called in on a Saturday evening without a reservation, we were greeted as arrived and asked if wanted to wait at the bar, we were only a few minutes waiting before a table was available.

OK. I am writing this as I sit here. Firstly, it’s utterly superb. I was a walk in single diner on a Friday evening (working in Leeds Fri/Sat). It’s a cool, chic, friendly, laid back, fizzing atmosphere. I had a nice single table in the window. I let the waiters recommend wines - and they nailed it. Trust the chap with the beard - he knows what he’s taking about!! White, Red, Red. To eat I had the meatballs and the potatoes - again, waiters recommendation - sounds like the most boring dinner on the planet? Wrong, completely wrong. It was (to quote my teenage son) bang’in! Absolutely delicious - I would eat it again now. And I have only just finished it. Followed it up with a hard cheese, biscuits and a (boring but delicious) Malbec. OK. It’s not cheap. Dinner for 1 at £60 but it’s blooming good…..genuinely….really that good. Well done the Friends of Ham.Just to reiterate….it’s utterly superb.

Good atmosphere, very busy, good ordering experience, the tables however are very small, when our dishes came there wasn't enough room on the table for them, asked if we could move, but we couldn't, had to send it back to keep warm. Then advised to put out drinks on the shelf behind us, which we did. There still wasn't enough room to share the dishes comfortably. Overall a bit disappointing.

Laynes, located near Leeds train station, is a popular spot known for its carefully sourced and freshly roasted coffee beans. The cafe offers a vibrant and inviting workspace for students and commuters in the heart of the city center. Their menu features a variety of brunch options that lean towards lunch territory, such as smashed peas and cannellini beans on sourdough toast, Turkish eggs with garlic yogurt, sweetcorn fritters with halloumi, and more.
Lovely cafe near the railway station. Great bustling atmosphere. Busy and popular. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Coffee (flat white) was perfect. We had a light lunch and both were very tasty. The pastries on sale looked amazing! The croissants looked huge! Service was prompt and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Loved it! I came here on a whim because it's close to the station (hence the name I suppose) and I'm happy I did! The menu is varied and offers many tasty sounding dishes that cater to carnivores, vegetarians and vegans alike. There are also plenty of sweet and savoury pastries to choose from! The interior is charming and I didn't have to wait long to get a table. The staff was very friendly and helpful! And - most importantly for most - food and coffee were great! I'll definitely come back here when I'm in Leeds once more!

We went to the restaurant one day and were told there were no available tables, with a waiting time of 30–45 minutes. We decided to come back another day, earlier, and with a reservation. Two days later, we called to book but were told they don’t take reservations and to just come directly. When we arrived, they said there were no tables and that we would have to wait 15–20 minutes, even though several tables were empty both inside and outside. The staff’s attitude was not great, and unfortunately, the service was poor. The food was tasty, but you leave the restaurant smelling like cooking because the kitchen is in the middle of the place. On top of that, the noise level was so high you could barely talk and heard.

We had an absolutely amazing night at Shears Yard last night. What a little gem this restaurant is from entering the restaurant we were made to feel very welcome from Ben and the ambiance was so nice and relaxing. We booked a tasting menu for 2 with wine pairing. We can’t recommend this enough it was absolutely delicious. The presentation and quality of the food was first class we savoured every mouthful it was absolutely delicious. We were excited for each dish that followed as Ben explained in absolute detail each course and Alex was very knowledgeable on each of the wines that paired superbly. The service received from Ben and Alex was first class it felt more like a private dining experience they were so attentive and knowledgeable. Also a big shout out to the chef and thank you for the amazing food you prepared for us. We will definitely be back and will continue to recommend this fabulous place!

A great experience from start to finish. We came for the tasting menu. Me and my partner have a few intolerances, but both management and the kitchen had no problems swapping stuff out for us. The food was amazing, as were the drinks pairings. The service was perfect, very casual but nothing was too much of an ask. Can’t wait to return!

Very chilled ambiance at shears. I was suprised by the lunch menu cost 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25. At that price (let's be honest was in this day and age a steal, but I was dubious). I was indeed wrong. The quality and presentation of the food was divine. We decided on trying the bread, the butter that day was mixed with timothy taylor beer. Not to my taste, but the forcaccia bread...oh my the bread. The crust was definately to my taste if you lean on the salty side of cuisine it was worth the price! The fish tasted fresh and delicate. My lamb was cooked perfectly. The kimchi potatoes were drier than expected...however, I l2t it go after the chocolate brownie. I shared this with my husband. It was rich with flavour from tart cherries to the silky ganache. I forget our waiters name, but he was chipper and friendly. Gave his opinion on some the dishes which was useful. Was definately a warm welcome coming through the door. I would love to come back for an evening meal.

It’s hard to find a really good Sunday lunch sometimes when you are looking at new towns and cites. My grandson found this little gem for us to go out for a little meal when we visited him at his uni digs. And wow it did not fail to please. We had a starter of seared smoked salmon and then a beef or pork Sunday lunch each and they were delicious. The staff were just amazing also. The star of the day the bread and butter well we had never tasted such superb bread with butter. Its most certainly baked on prem and what a baker who makes it. You could live off it and i have added it to my to ten list of favourite foods now. I cant recall the exact details but it was black garlic with grape and a few other ingredients between the butter and bread i felt like Oliver and wanted to shout please sir could i have some more.

Visited last night to try out the tasting menu. The place itself is lovely inside, really nice atmosphere and music. We ordered the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which was matched beautifully. We really enjoyed the food itself. However, we felt so rushed between courses. We weren't given enough time to finish our drink before our next drink and course was being given to us. I had to ask to have a break between courses because we hadn't been given one. We felt the waiting staff weren’t interested in providing an experience and didn’t give us any extra information about the tasting menu itself. It was a shame considering how much we paid for the experience. Unfortunately, I don't think I would visit again as the customer service spoiled the whole experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first food tasting experience at V&V. Chef Jono's food is incredible. Beautiful flavours expertly seasoned. We were looked after so well from the moment we arrived with such attentive customer service and so many wonderful flavours and textures that I kept saying ‘wow!’ We were so well looked after by the staff as well Every course was delicious and presented so perfectly. I will definitely be going back.

This was one of the most disappointing tasting menu we've experienced in UK/Europe. The dishes lacked creativity and the flavors were surprisingly bland. Overall, it felt uninspired and failed to deliver on both taste and presentation.

Stunning experience, adapted food as much as they could for wife’s garlic intolerance. Only thing missing was able to have a jus with the Sunday dinner as that meant her Yorkshire pudding was dry. But flavour combinations, combined with high quality cooking blew our minds. The service was high class and is how hospitality should be done, just brilliant from everyone making us feel so welcome. The signed menu was a nice touch. One of the best food experiences ever

Another amazing food tasting visit to Chef Jono. Was hard to choose a favourite dish, as all delicious. Service was fantastic too. Take a very empty tummy as portions are filling. Chef and staff were very kind and let me take home some portions at the end that we couldn't fit in, so we didn't miss out. Loved the Chef take on steak pie when I got home and have just eaten the Mushroom Tiramisu for breakfast, Best breakfast I have ever had! Definitely worth booking if you enjoy tasting menus or just love food. They also do a 5 course Sunday lunch menu that we would like to try.

Odd one for me this. I want to preface with...my god, this man can cook. Chef Jono's food is incredible. Beautiful flavours, expertly seasoned, and served exquisitely. My issues here are the pacing and the dish choices, meaning that I currently would NOT recommend the signature tasting menu, and would instead recommend the lunch tasting menu or Sunday roast. In terms of dish choice, it was a lot of dense and rich food. The mackerel course was the only one that felt light, and there were no one-biters. Again want to state that the food quality is exceptional. The (excellent) malt loaf should have been a third of the size, and the (incredible) Not French Onion Soup almost finished us off, and that was halfway through. Adding to this, the pacing of the courses was too fast. I've never been to a full tasting menu that was done in two hours. We were almost done after one. Thankfully, service staff noticed and asked if we needed a break after the main courses. We did. We were uncomfortable. Finally, I think the decor needs a little work. We were sat with a light overhead that felt like we were in an interrogation. So bright. Really distracting, although excellent for food photos. We'd ask for a different table next time. So yeah. Can't speak highly enough of the food or the staff, but the tasting menu needs some more thought.

⭐ V&V Review ⭐ We visited V&V for our ten-year wedding anniversary, and the experience couldn’t have been more special. The team even presented us with a signed menu wishing us a happy anniversary — such a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly personal. The tasting menu was outstanding, with multiple layers of flavour carefully built into each dish. Standouts included the perfectly cooked seabass, a playful mushroom tiramisu, and a refined take on fish pie. The wine pairings were exceptional — clearly the result of significant effort and expertise — and enhanced every course. Staff were passionate, engaged, and genuinely engaging, bringing warmth to the sophistication of the décor and overall atmosphere. ✨ V&V delivers an exceptional balance of creativity, precision, and hospitality — a memorable place for any special occasion. ✨

A wonderful dining experience which was provided with great food, an interesting wine float and excellent service. With any premium dining the price is somewhat irrelevant, the food was well thought through and we found that the drinks package matched the flavours well. The service was great and the staff knew the flavours and could articulate and comment on their views of why the pairing complemented each dish.

Located at 58 North Street, Leeds, The Swine That Dines offers an intimate and friendly dining experience with a focus on local produce and lesser-used cuts. Run by a husband-and-wife team, this restaurant serves innovative plates ideal for sharing. Their enticing short menu of seasonal food comes at pocket-pleasing prices, making it an absolute delight for visitors.
I went for the fixed price lunch. Lovely welcome coming in. Immediately shown to my table. Nice selection of dishes to choose from, some unusual, some more your usual fare. Nice fast service, I had plenty of time for three courses and a digestif within my lunch hour. The chicken was delicious! I'll be going back!

We have been meaning to come here for ages and we weren’t disappointed. From the warm welcome, through delicious and unusual cocktails, to outstanding mains which were perfectly cooked, and finally the dessert/cheese options we couldn’t have been more delighted. The bill, with a bottle of wine, came to £130 which, for this level of cooking with good portion sizes and high quality ingredients, represents great value. We came for a wedding anniversary treat and we were so happy that we did.

Went for the lunch menu and it was a treat. Lovely flavours and good portions. Staff were friendly and they had a great drinks list of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beers and wines. Would definitely go back.

What an amazing meal! Everything from the service, to delicious food was perfect. My partner has a nut allergy and the staff were extremely attentive and went through everything on the menu to ensure we knew what was best. Highly recommend the muscles and the pork jowls, absolutely delicious. Will be visiting again.

I booked this place last weekend for my partner's birthday. We both loved it. I had the rabbit leg which is something I've never tried before, and it was mind blowing. I never knew what people meant when they said something "melts in your mouth" until that moment. My boyfriend has the pork which he also said was the best he's had. Our starters and dessert were just as good. The service was lovely and the place had a relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to come back and try whatever is on the menu when we're next there!

We convened with a party of 12 at this amazing Bistro, for a graduation celebration. The food was amazing and the staff only too happy to help. Very much appreciated was the run through of the menu explaining all the dishes, and they certainly lived up to expectations. Wine amazing - can highly recommend the Montepulciano d'abruzzo, and for drivers, the AF Helles Lager was a bonus. If you're looking for a fab place to eat, drink and relax, head here!!

The Empire Cafe, located on Fish Street in Leeds, has quickly become a popular spot for locals and food enthusiasts. The cafe offers a laid-back atmosphere perfect for lunch or an indulgent evening date. Known for its famous wall of flame rotisserie chicken, the cafe also serves innovative small plates and breakfast options. The service is excellent, and the food is well-executed and interesting. With a cool vibe and an ever-changing selection of small plates, this quirky restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
On a very quiet Wednesday in Leeds, this place was busy and for good reason. The staff are fantastic and very knowledgeable, the food amazing. We both had the rotisserie chicken with different flavours. Both were melt in your mouth delicious. The roast potatoes, perfection! I can see why this place is so popular.

We managed to get a late-night booking at The Hidden Gems of Leeds, which was the only time slot available. Although we were seated at a high table which made dining a bit uncomfortable. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. The ambiance was lively, and there was a great selection of drinks and wines to choose from. Food-wise, I’d rate the experience a 7 out of 10. The standout dish was definitely the roast chicken—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. On the other hand, the steak was fresh but unfortunately lacked taste. The staff were absolutely lovely and attentive throughout the night, adding a personal touch to the service. I’d happily return just for that roast chicken!

Empire Cafe – A Hidden Gem in Leeds ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow. I honestly can’t put into words how impressed I am with Empire Cafe. This place is an absolute hidden gem in Leeds. I’ve eaten in many places around the world, but this stands out as something truly special. The food was nothing short of stunning — every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but Empire Cafe absolutely delivers. What really made the experience even better was the service. Mark, our server, was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what he does. He’s a real credit to the restaurant, and the entire team showed some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. If I could give 20 out of 10, I would. Without a doubt a 5-star experience. Please do yourself a favour and give this place a try — I was completely blown away. We’ll definitely be back very soon. Kindest regards, Charles

The food here is delicious. Highly recommend the chicken. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere, especially downstairs where I like the artwork on the walls. The staff are very helpful and as a coeliac they were very accommodating for gluten free options (there’s a good amount) and they understand about cross contamination.

This is a terrific place to go visit just for their gorgeous rotisserie chicken. It has a small, very cosy, inside seating area where you can sit next to the open kitchen, drooling at the chicken you're about to order. Another seating area downstairs (no where near as cosy) and a few tables outside, great for when the weather's good. Best chicken I've had in the city. Highly recommend.

I’ve wanted to try here for ages and it was as good as I’d hoped 👍🏼 A couple of us got a dish each and shared, we got steak and chips - beautiful! The rotisserie chicken with potatoes was gorgeous and we selected the smoked garlic and hot honey sauce, and a rotisserie chicken salad which was really lovely too. We got a couple of desserts to share and the strawberry eclairs was the standout! All the staff were so lovely and the vibe was outstanding.

Went for dinner on a Friday evening. Booked a couple of weeks in advance so didn't struggle to get a table. Staff were all lovely and attentive. The food was all exceptional. We had the duck eclair and tuna to start, and then rotisserie chicken and stake and chips for main. Really high quality and tasted amazing. Also had the pastel-de-nata rice pudding for dessert which was also tasty. Only downsides, which didn't ruin the experience but could be improved: we had to wait outside when we first arrived for our table to be prepared. This wasn't too bad given it was September, but there wasn't any heaters out there so wouldn't want to do that in the middle of winter. We also had to give up our table before dessert and move to the bar upstairs. Again, this was fine, but if we could have had the table for 20-30 minutes longer then that would have felt less rushed. Overall though, would highly recommend. It's a complete class above other places in the same price-bracket such as Six-by-Nico or Ivy Asia.

Prashad is a vibrant and intimate restaurant that offers South Indian and Gujarati vegetarian cuisine. It has been serving superbly spiced dishes since 1992, with flavors that are precise yet lively and portions that are generous. The restaurant is known for its Michelin-approved Indian vegetarian food and is located in a converted pub between Bradford and Leeds. Prashad's menu features an intricate mix of traditional and new Gujarati dishes, all made with the very best local ingredients.
This place has so many accolades for a reason, it is simply impressive. The pani puri was amazing and slightly reminded me of what you would get on the streets of Amedabad. The Kofta was amazing along with the roti! (Not to mention the ginger old fashion that’s not so Gujarati :) ) Come to this place if you love Indian food! Perhaps they will prepare something Jain for you if asked :) )

What a gorgeous place. The staff were lovely and attentive, answering our questions about the food and offering recommendations. The food is just beautiful, both in taste and visually.

Had a really great time at Prashad with my colleagues. The starters were great! Its impressive- the innovation of food with veg ingredients. We had Kopra pethis (which seemed a great innovation), chat is really fabulous, and also Paneer Gulla. For mains we had Renghan Wattan (Aubergine curry)- which was really different but tasty varient of aubergine curry. Paneer and Chatta Biryani And also the fixed price menu- which had kanda bhaji and thali with variety of tasty items (paneer, tadka dal, Palak mushroom, boondi, etc) and masala dosa Overall a really great experience 😊👍🏼

Visited the restaurant as it was highly recommended. Made reservations for a Friday night and the place wasn’t very busy. We ordered the Maharani Thali, while the food was good but nothing really stood out. Also surprisingly the people in the group were served different ‘currys and starters’ which seemed a bit odd! I suppose this would be great for sharing! Overall, I would rate it as good, and can visit, it not necessarily the 1st or 2nd option when choosing a restaurant.

Disappointing Experience Due to Hidden Service Charge I recently visited Prashad with a tasting menu voucher for two, and while the evening began well, the experience declined quickly. The first four courses were flavorful, though portions were overly large, leaving us full too soon. The dishes were also too spicy at times, with chunky herbs that detracted from the meal. By the time we reached the final three courses, including an underwhelming dessert, the quality had noticeably dropped. The menu itself was tasty for the first four courses—flavours were fresh and very aromatic. However, portions were much too big and we were full by the 4th course. My partner felt that the dishes were a bit too spicy at times and the herbs and aromatics could be quite chunky and need spitting out. Does not make for a romantic dinner date! The last three courses, including the dessert, were quite underwhelming. Service felt rushed, with plates whisked away too quickly. We felt that this was overwhelming and rushed the pacing of the meal. When it came to getting the attention of the waitstaff for other things, it felt like it took forever to get their attention. Service was slow and inattentive once the dishes were on the table, which diminished the experience. The atmosphere wasn’t great either, for a ‘fine dining Indian restaurant’ it felt more like a family style restaurant. Disappointing as we were expecting a more refined experience. We had to move seats as we were sat in the corner table initially, which was extremely cramped. Tables were so crowded together you could hear every conversation happening at once. This also made it difficult to hear the descriptions of the tasting menu- which were not delivered with the most enthusiasm… this would’ve been resolved if we were provided a tasting menu list on the table to follow, which is standard for such experiences. The real issue, though, was the unexpected compulsory service charge. Despite being labeled as “discretionary,” we were told it was mandatory for the tasting menu. This was especially frustrating as it was a gifted experience, and we didn’t expect to pay extra on a prepaid voucher. While I don’t mind paying service charge on drinks or extras, it feels unfair to impose it on the portion of the gifted meal. It would’ve been better if they had simply factored it into the overall price. We ordered £12.75 worth of drinks but with the service charge we were expected to pay over £24! They removed the service charge on the drinks after we told them to but they refused to remove the £8 service charge on the tasting menu! While the first few courses were excellent, the poor service and forced service charge ruined the evening. It’s a shame, as I otherwise might have recommended Prashad, but this hidden cost and lack of refinement mean I won’t be returning. Don’t expect Michelin-level dining here.

I love that the menu here is 100% vegetarian—it makes choosing so easy. The mixed starter is incredible, and after three visits I can honestly say this is a fantastic curry house. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

I live in northern France and have eaten very good to superb meals here, including a stack of starred restaurants. I travel throughout Europe for food vacations and love the meals I've had. My wife and I ate here on Sunday and had the most enjoyable meal of the last three years! It wasn't the best meal I've eaten, but clearly the most enjoyable. Thoughtful, complex composed courses with flavor profiles and combinations I've never had or thought of. If we lived in Bradford, we would eat there all the time. We don't, so sadly this may be the only time or one of two times we get to be treated to such special tastes. And the chef is a doll. We spoke at the end of our meal and she's as interesting and passionate as her food and restaurant. I am proud to have dined here and strongly urge those of you who read this to go out of your way to do so also. Truly stunning food.

Tapas bar
Wine bar
Ibérica Leeds is a sophisticated Spanish dining room located in a converted auction house. It offers an elegant atmosphere and a long wine list. The restaurant features tapas, paella, artisan cheeses, and cured meats by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Nacho Manzano. This location is one of eight across the UK and only the third outside of London.
This place was on my restaurant bucket list for so long and finally tried it today. We were blown away by how authentic the experience was and how welcoming the staff were. Coleen welcomed us in as one of the first lunch customers. She provided a great wine recommendation using her own knowledge and my preferences. The £20 lunch special is amazing with generous portions, even better when in a group as you can all share. This is one of those places which is tucked away but worth a visit. We will be back for dinner.
Ruth M — Google review
The restaurant is lovely inside and the service was great, but the food was simply too expensive for what it was. I understand tapas are small plates usually for sharing but I didn’t think it was worth the money. The cheese/meat board was almost £20 for a very limited amount of cheese and meat. The croquettes and patatas bravas were good. We also got the corn fed baby chicken which was tasty but extremely small portion for about £18!
Kat — Google review
Iberica looks absolutely amazing on the inside, the aesthetics are wonderful its a shame the food doesn't quite match the same standard. 2 of us had 5 dishes between us and 1 alcohlic drink each costing us in and around £80. Between £10-£15 per tapas dish you'd expect the portion sizes to be worthy of this price, sad to say that they were not. The chorizio lollipops were nice but the actual chorizio wouldn't feed a mouse if you tried and the patatas bravas I could have done a better job with not just frying potatoes and lathering them in sauce, although again they were nice. I noticed the chefs touching the food without gloves on, i trust their hands are clean as should be the surfaces. Luckily i am someone without any food allergies but for someone with them i wouldn't be surprised about the possibility of cross contamination. On the positive side the staff were friendly and offered their recomendations of the lamb (pictured), which turned out to be utterly wonderful, the tenderness of the lamb made it obvious that it has been slow cooked for hours before hand and the garnishes gave it a perfect sweetness to it, with a half decent portion size to go with it. The authenticity of the spanish restaurant was kept as I overheard the waitresses speaking spanish which is a quality i really liked. I would reccomend this restaurant but only as a one time "for the experience" thing or maybe for a posh lunch, though you won't get far if you are trying to have plenty of alcohol but cost effective time as the only pint they offer, estrella, will cost you £7 a go, though the glasses of Rose are reasonably priced. Cant fault the staff they were friendly and offered recommendations and we were seen to pretty quickly at the same time as giving us plenty of time to think about our choices. And the toilets were really cool. 6.5/10

Really enjoyed our visit here. Beautiful building, very nice food and excellent service. Food wise we enjoyed the Chorizo lollipops, pan con tomate, tortilla and patatas bravas. We loved the Tempura hake, blue cheese salad, sherry mushrooms and the desserts. Excellent selection of Spanish wines too.

This place is amazing! First of all the staff is lovely. All the tapas platters that we tried were brilliant. Padron peppers are amazing, but the greatest is the churros !!! We were a bit suspicious whether it would be the same food experience as we had in Spain. Frankly, it may even be more delicious. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and staff; basically everything is lovely. They forgot to bring my espresso and I have been informed that due to this inconvenience, the coffee will be on the house, which means that they care about their customers. There is a 12.5% service charge included in the bill which is completely deserved. Next time we will come with our group of friends to enjoy more and try paellas.

We had a family meal here. Absolutely FANTASTIC. I’m from Spain and always looking for good Spanish food and can never find it. The croquetas, peppers, jamon iberico were 10 out of 10 seriously. The seafood paella could improve a little but still no complaints. The building itself is amazing, and although it sounds odd the bathroom is incredible. One of the best Spanish restaurants outside of Spain I’ve been to 👏👏

Blue Sakura Leeds is a vibrant and trendy restaurant that offers an all-you-can-eat menu featuring a variety of sushi and Pan-Asian dishes, along with sake and cocktails. The establishment caters to dietary restrictions, offering gluten-free soy sauce and separate menus for dairy-free and gluten-free options.
We came for our son’s 21st birthday and had a great time! It was our first visit, but won’t be the last. We ordered drinks at the bar before being taken to our table. Then the waiting staff showed us a tablet to order our food/drinks from. There were so many items to choose from, but sashimi wasn’t available on the lunchtime menu. We proceeded to choose our dishes and the food came pretty quickly! They were fresh and hot. The sushi dishes were nicely presented. You get to choose a limited number of dishes, then wait for these to arrive. Then you can choose again. The ordering closes half an hour before your table is up. We had 1.5 hours of eating time. The ambience was nice with good background music. We would definitely return again!

Everything is ordered through an interactive tablet and the cocktails are definitely worth a try !

Blue Sakura - unusual, modern hospitality, partly shaped by its location near the Arena. You order via tablet and can keep adding to your order if you're still hungry. If you're used to chatting with waiting staff and hearing personal explanations about each dish, this place feels different. Ideal for those who just want food without overbearing attention (which, I admit, I already miss, ha ha). The food was good, though I found the selection of vegetable dishes and salads a bit limited - but that's just me, not being much of a meat-eater. Still, one of the nice spots to sit before the Arena comes alive and to enjoy a different approach to hospitality ✨

Booked the weekend evening menu for a special occasion in August. Service was impeccable from start to finish. Front of house explained how everything worked, seated us straight away, and drinks arrived quickly. Ordering is done on a tablet, and food is brought to your table as soon as it’s cooked. Everything came out hot and fresh, not like it had been sitting around. The wonton soup was perfectly umami, sushi rice well seasoned, and the nigiri clearly hand-moulded. Beef tataki could have been a touch rarer, but still excellent. King prawn tempura was freshly battered and piping hot, while the sirloin steaks were melt-in-the-mouth. The scallops were a little wet, likely from being sauced before grilling, and the udon noodles were slightly wetter than I’d prefer, but both still full of flavour. We were given a dining time limit. Although the evening slot is longer than lunch, we could have done with a bit more time to make the experience feel less rushed. Staff are very efficient, giving a polite reminder 10–15 minutes before your end time and bringing the bill a few minutes before, which keeps things moving smoothly and fairly for all guests. Left extremely satisfied and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service.

First time trying Blue Sakura in Leeds — my daughters have been raving about this place, so I had to give it a go! First impressions: I was instantly impressed with the modern interior, perfectly in line with current design trends. Even though it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet, you simply order from the tablet and the dishes are brought fresh to your table. Our favourites were the salmon sushi rolls, noodles, lamb chops, and prawn tempura. The black bean beef curry is also a must-try! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re up north.

We have been keen to try this place for a while after hearing good feedback. Due to the price point and as a family of 6 we saved it for a "special occasion" visit so when it was suggested for my daughter's 16th birthday it's where we headed today. Honestly the decor is beautiful and the service was attentive and all the staff helpful and friendly. Loved the smart ordering concept on the tablet and the small plate servings allowing you a chance to try a range of dishes. Service was fast, the dishes arrived quickly after ordering. However we felt the food quality was poor. We had expected this to be higher end restaurant quality. It was not! We had 40 dishes during our lunch sitting between the 6 of us. So sampled a wide range of offerings on the menu. The rice texture and consistency in the sushi wasn't the best the rice was quite dry in many pieces. Poorly assembled and fell apart when we picked them up. It didn't taste very fresh and there are much better sushi restaurants in Leeds. I would go so far as saying you could buy better pre-made in the supermarket for a fraction of the price. The Chinese style dishes were also disappointing, really cheap tasting and textured meat. Teriyaki chicken skewers were barely edible, we had ordered 2 portions of these for our table of 6 and left them all. Think of the cheapest frozen party food. Not at all what you expect for the leading price point you pay to dine here. My favourite dish was the teriyaki mushrooms. Glad to have visited and ticked it off the list but based on the food quality we certainly won't visit again. It is just the poorest quality all you can eat buffet wrapped up in a wonderfully smart efficient ordering style. Bill cost for 6 adults lunch , 5 soft drinks & 1 cocktail £236

The Whitehall Restaurant & Bar in Leeds is a casual dining venue offering a diverse menu of fish, meat dishes, pasta, and pizza alongside creative cocktails and an extensive wine selection. Renowned for its exceptional carvery, the restaurant features favorites such as roast beef, corn-fed chicken breast, pork belly, and a delectable butternut squash roast. The establishment provides an elegant brunch experience with indoor and heated al-fresco dining options.
I was fortunate to be staying nearby and was pulled in by the intriguing menu filled with delights for carnivores like myself and choices for my vegetarian wife. We were both impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of our servers. There was little wait for our food, but each dish was cooked to perfection. The Venison Wellington was a standout dish for me, and I found it paired quite well with a side order of scalloped potatoes. We left full, happy, and looking forward to the next visit! I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was superb and the service matched up to it too. Excellent interior and the location is super convenient being close to the train station. You normally find restaurants this good in London so we’re lucky to have this standard in Leeds.

We were a walk-in today, wanted to try their Sunday roast, pictures and reviews we read were decent. Managed to get a table but was asked if we'd mind agreeing to a limited time, which wasn't a problem. I would recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. Service was good, very attentive, food was excellent, we had Beef and Pork, both cooked perfectly. Came with a side of cauliflower cheese and extra gravy. Portion size was enough for us, very happy with our visit.

We came to celebrate a birthday as we were interested in the ‘free flow fizz’ offer. Both the food and the champagne were delicious. All of the staff were friendly and attentive, and we all found it reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

Had the Hen do dinner for my friend at this restaurant and we had the best time. Very good service and delicious food. They accommodated a large group with 14 of us. The venue is very nice and clean. The staff were lovely and very attentive. Very happy overall.

First visit to this large restaurant on Whitehall Road; at the foot of that tower that’s had so many problems with the cladding. Now scaffolding free, it made me notice this place afresh. Inside the restaurant is bright and airy, white walls and marble floors. There’s a nice vibe in here of an evening. Chill yet traditional. You sense the meal will be good. Nice big menu with lots of choice. Pizza, pasta and steak. Also fish. Opted for the venison wellington; I love venison and it sounded like a dish that would be rich and hearty. Not wrong, a beautiful (and big) portion of perfectly pink venison in a light and flaky crust. Wow, could eat that all day. So very rich with a hearty sauce, turnip to the side. I wish more places would use game. The chef here clearly knows his meat. Excellent. The steak must be fantastic. Reasonably priced as well. The beer was Moretti; as it should be when it isn’t Peroni. Definitely recommend giving this place a try next time you’re in town. They do specials too, so a chance at finding something unexpected and intriguing on the menu. Always welcome. Two paws up. Well done.

Highly recommend this restaurant. We held my Mum's 60th here in August, everything was fantastic. Booking via phone was easy, very accommodating for a group of 14 and two high chairs, only a credit card needed to secure the booking. We had a choice of a set menu or a la carte, no ordering in advance or requirement to all eat from the same menu. Very flexible. It's rare to find a restaurant nowadays where you feel completely satisifed with everything but The Whitehall exceeded my expectations! The scallops to start were 10/10...cooked to perfection in a beautiful sauce, I could eat them every day. The pork duo main was delicious, cooked perfectly and well seasoned, good portion size with enough room for dessert. Every single person in our party said their food was fantastic. The menu has so much choice, it really was difficult to choose. The staff were all so attentive, friendly and helpful, they helped decorate the table, topped our glasses up without leaving us waiting and really couldn't have done any more for us. The wine waiter had some good suggestions too. This restaurant is perfect for a group, it's open and modern so can be noisy but it was unpretentious and classy. I wish we lived in Leeds, we would visit all the time. We had a really enjoyable experience and felt it was very reasonably priced. A must visit in Leeds.

Absolutely superb! What a great restaurant, lovely surroundings inside and it's nice to sit outside, (weather permitting), the dishes were all, superb, a great menu with lots of choices, the wines are very well chosen and the staff are so, friendly. Our thanks to Beth and Chelsea in particular. We enjoyed our Saturday evening so much we came back the next day for the lovely Sunday lunch. It's now our go-to restaurant in Leeds.

Nestled in the heart of Leeds Victorian Quarter, The Ivy Asia is a must-visit destination for locals and visitors. This independent venue offers a unique blend of Asian fusion cuisine, creative cocktails, and stunning decor spread across three floors. With its vibrant atmosphere and a spectacular roof terrace, it's an ideal spot to enjoy music, art, film, and delectable food.
Beautiful, vibrant, opulent premises. Wonderful food. Impeccable table service. We had a really good time. The ambience is relaxed and welcoming. Would recommend asking for a booth when reserving for larger parties. The position of our table for 6 was the only downside, too much foot traffic and close to bathrooms. Would have preferred a nicer table but did not want to fuss. Really lovely and attentive staff. We went for the Ivy Experience Set Menu - just lovely ♡♡♡

Had my first taste of the Ivy and it was a wonderful experience. I had the Shepherds Pie and at first glance I was surprised at the small portion however it was so flavoursome and filling. It was my birthday and they surprised me with a birthday desert and although I'm trying to be good for my summer holidays it would have been rude to say no. A fantastic culinary experience that I highly recommend.

I was more than pleasantly surprised. The food tasted as good as it looked. Each dish offered a taste explosion, with an extra special nod to the sambal sirloin. Plenty of staff made for a smooth service. If there was one teeny criticism it would be to give me a bowl to enjoy my rice. Thanks for a great evening.

Overall the Mrs loved it and that's what this place is for, a good date every now and then and ofc a pricey one to feed the materialism of the other half. Portion size is cheeky at best, taste was good but not worth the price. Overall it was a nice experience, The staff were fantastic and they do add on a service charge.

Dinner on a Saturday night for 4 people (booked well in advance) and everyone really enjoyed the food (selection of small plates and mains to share), the atmosphere and service. The latter was a little hit & miss but generally good overall. Although we ordered a bottle of white wine and way too much was poured initially and it wasn’t chilled so not ideal but small issue.. Busy place with couples and groups spread out over a large space, but wasn’t overly noisy so easy conversations. Spent about 3hrs in total with starters, mains, desset, a bottle of wine, pkus tip for £280 amongst 4 people.

A fantastic dining experience at The Ivy Asia. Fabulous interior, great dishes and very staff. Our thanks to Cheryl for making our anniversary even more special. Highly recommended!
P D — Google review
Our introduction was very nice, the decor is beautiful & I especially loved the flooring & overall opulence. After that, it all went downhill. The cocktails are pricey, hit & miss in taste, my 1st one was served to me without a straw - how am I supposed to drink it? I even commented on how it was an extra long cocktail... Then came the £48pp menu - no warning that we're expected to share, family style instead of individual apportioning which is what it should be - trying to save on washing up dishes/serving? The food was also hit or miss, mainly vegetarian so cheaper cost than meat. The real shocking thing was the amount of times food was taken away from our tables, without us being asked, EVER, if we were finished. Our server removed an entirely fresh bowl of edamame, and did the same with our leftover curry, rice and pak choi! Really disappointing. Considering we paid £95pp, how dare you take our food away? We were still eating! None of our cutlery was presented as if we were finished. Terrible service in this sense. Also while there, 2 servers crashed into each other & smashed a glass. Though they thought they cleaned everything, an old lady ended up kicking a large piece of broken glass later, while being seated - not sure about the health & safety on that! Could have been disastrous. We were a table of 5, celebrating a birthday & yes the restaurant was full, and we stayed over the silly time limit of 2hrs but again, when spending so much money we should be allowed to stay as long as it takes us - don't overbook the restaurant! And then practically throw us out telling us that people are waiting for our table. What a way to ruin the experience, giving us a £450+ bill, telling us to pay & leave asap, and of course it includes 12.5% forced service charge though service was poor at best. I had to ask 4 times to order my 2nd drink. Disappointing experience, will not be returning. We weren't ever asked if everything was ok with our meal, otherwise I would have said something. Dessert was probably the best tasting course, which was not Asian at all. It's a hot mess of dry ice spectacles for Instagram.
Riva H — Google review
The meat dish in the photo is probably one of the best I’ve ever had — truly, it’s surprisingly delicious! I have no words to describe how amazing the atmosphere is, from the entrance to every little decorative detail. It’s not just a place to eat, it’s an experience. I highly recommend it!

Paweł P — Google review
I normally have a really good experience at trinity kitchen but today I decided to try a new food truck they have called ‘Asian heat Mexican Street’ and I ordered the birria ramen. When the bowl initially came out it looked pretty good and I let it sit for around 2 minutes whilst it cooled down a bit because their food is all extremely fresh. However when it came to eating it I found there was no broth under the noodles despite it being on the menu description, the meat was dry and there was barely even any meat just fat leaves of bok Choi and an excess of noodles. They were dry and sticky and I ultimately couldn’t eat it as I literally got given plain noodles with no flavour. The service was lovely however and the workers were so nice so all they need to work on is their menu items. Please don’t go here and get the birria ramen as I have been left very disappointed and mourning my waste of money since I’m still hungry after eating there. They also had really lovely chips so good on them for doing that right as well.

North Star Coffee Shop is a local coffee shop with delicious roasts of beans from all over the world. Situated next to their roastery, you can try two espressos each as well as one expertly-made filter coffee. There are also loose tea, craft beers and cocktails on offer. A gem in Leeds Dock, North Star will have pancakes for the February 13th day only!
Great little coffee place in Leeds dock. Good coffee and a small menu of breakfast, brunch and excellent cakes. The sausage and egg sandwich was amazing, the cakes were great too. They also sell their own coffee beans. Not the cheapest place but the quality is very good and you get what you pay for!
Andrew B — Google review
The staff were lovely and the space was clean. The vibe was good and the coffee was of a good high quality. The coffee shop also has a mini store area where you can purchase beans, T-shirts and some cool looking tote bags. The coffee is priced as a normal high quality coffee is nowadays, but the portion sizes are on the smaller size - (I had taken a couple sips out of my glass in the photo provided!). I tried the last slice of the tiramisu tart, which was a little different! Similar to a treacle tart with some cream on top. This was nice! Good location on the docks, near the library boat and the Royal Armouries.

I tried two different coffees here, both being made as a long black. They were the Astro house blend and a Mexican sierra Mazateca variety. They were both really nice. The house blend was chocolaty with a slight citrus angle, while the Mexican bean had a more apple and nutty taste. Both different but both very nice. Highly recommended.

French restaurant
Kendells Bistro is an authentic French restaurant located in Leeds, offering a charming and rustic ambiance with exposed brick walls, flickering candles, and an open kitchen where Chef Patron Steve Kendell showcases his culinary skills. The menu features classic French dishes such as Canard aux Cassis and Longue de Venaison, showcasing a wide range of delightful flavors. The restaurant's warm candlelit tables create a romantic atmosphere for an exceptional dining experience.
Very traditional internal decor considering its in a modern building. Food was good quality. Service was nice as well as polite. We had some of our party arrive late so the waiter explained the timings on food which was helpful. However as good as the main courses were the complimentary bread whilst we waited was the star showing. Absolutely beautiful I'd happily sit with a bowl of soup and a pile of that bread. As some say it's dark, however it's clear from the pictures the environment is set up like that.

We have ordered tea time set menu. Portion okay even though it is french cuisine. Causal and informal without sacrifice on food quality. A bit too dark. For people need reading in good light, better read menu before coming.😂 Mood for chatting is fabulous. Staff are nice and well trained.

For our 3rd wedding anniversary celebration, I chose Kendell’s Bistro after seeing it pop up in my social media. After several years of visiting my sister in Paris, I love French food. As soon I stepped through the door, I was in France! From the candle lit tables to the mouthwatering menu. Kendell’s Bistro is as good as, if not even better, than some of the places I have eaten in Paris. It did not disappoint. Obviously, I had to start with the French onion soup. My husband had duck liver pate. For our main, we both chose the slow roast duck leg with dauphinoise potato’s and green beans. I was really looking forward to having a dessert but I was so full from starter and main, I couldn’t let myself not appreciate the dessert to its full potential. So it was a lovely surprise when we received our bill, the staff looking after us, made our visit even more special with two complimentary petit fours that were presented beautifully on a slate that read “Bon anniversaire”. It was a lovely touch to an already wonderful first experience here. Next time, I will either share or skip the starter, as I have the sweetest tooth and I need to try the desserts! The mocktail I had was so tasty. Overall, I can’t wait to visit again. I’ll definitely bring my sister and her French partner when they next visit England. I cannot wait to share the experience of Kendell’s Bistro with them. I especially think her French partner will love to see sticky toffee pudding on the menu! Overall, to summarise my review, the atmosphere, service from wonderful staff and the food were 10/10. One word - flawless! I’m already excited for our next visit. A true Leeds hidden gem which I won’t keep to myself.

Bit of an experience the atmosphere and environment and set up of the restaurant was very beautiful and stunning. When you were seated it was it was very comfortable unfortunately our service staff member were still in training, so It’s understandable there would be a certain amount of mistakes, but it took us 2 1/2 hours to have our starters Main and deserts. Service staff often forgot to take our order or even put it into the kitchen. The soup and other starters that we ordered were absolutely phenomenal. my Main’s was on the other side of the scale. I had ordered fish, it had scales, served in a Chipped plate with sharp edge and I believe that it was not steamed correctly. Unfortunately it made me not want to continue with the meal, but didn’t want to spoil it for my friend that had gone along with me so we had deserts and we headed back. The staff member that did the upmost to provide a positive experience was Marvilla she was absolutely lovely and was trying her upmost to help me with placing the orders and Corrected all the mistakes that had come into play. when I spoke to the manager, it felt like he downplayed everything and didn’t take my concern seriously. The overall experience for me and my friend is that the food is good definitely on the pricey side but customer service may not be as good as other places.

We recently dined at Sukhothai in Leeds and was completely blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere and aromatic scents promised an authentic Thai culinary journey - and it absolutely delivered. The menu offers an incredible variety of classic dishes, all bursting with fresh, vibrant flavours. The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced - just the right mix of sweet, sour and nutty - while the Green Curry had that ideal creamy richness with a kick of spice. Service was attentive and friendly, with staff happy to recommend dishes and check spice preferences and allergies. The restaurant itself has a lovely modern yet cosy vibe, making it great for both casual meals and special occasions. With generous portions, reasonable prices and truly authentic taste, Sukhothai has become my new go-to for Thai food in Leeds. Can't recommend it enough - I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

What a great place, I love using Google maps to find places to eat, always manage to find some real nice places too. The food is amazing, portion controll is spot on, hardest part of the visit was making the choice, looks like we'll have to go back and try some more dishes. I'd definalty book as the restaurant was pretty full and Saturday, service was quick but not rushed, even had time to help with food choice. What a delightful place for a celebration or even just a drink. The quality of the food is top notch and worth the trip. Staff are friendly and able to make adjustments as required. The bruschetta was strong with garlic and the tomatoes were very fresh and juicy. The chicken was thin and crispy, paired with the delicious spaghetti topped with fresh tomatoes and basil. The meal was finished off with zeppola. This is a crispy choux bun filled with sweet vanilla cream. I was able to get this without the cherries and it was perfect. We will defiantly be back when we come back to Leeds!

The food was excellent. Well prepared and presented. I’d personally recommend. I only had one slight issue. The old fashioned cocktail OO ordered had a tad too much bitters in it for me. But everyone seems to make them differently wherever I go. Would definitely return

Gaucho Leeds offers an exceptional bottomless brunch experience with a focus on premium cuts of meat and Argentine-inspired dishes. The Electro Brunch, priced at 45 or 55 depending on the drinks package, includes unlimited Bloody Marys, Aperol Spritzs, and more for two hours along with unlimited food. The restaurant exudes glamour and style with its luxurious decor. It serves succulent cuts of beef from Argentina and locally sourced Yorkshire produce.
Service and interior were superb. It was private, cozy and elegant. The waiter did forget a part of our order but made up for it with a free side. Cocktails (esp the kiwi one) was amazing and paired well with a meaty dish. Prawns and taco were unique and tasted great. My steak was not the temperature I had asked for but I still enjoyed the flavours although I did mix the sauce with some mayo which made it even better. Dessert was one of my favourites. The Argentinian trifle was refreshing and crunchy and the pancake was sweet. I was quite impressed and I would visit again.

A nice place if not a little bit dated decor wise … excellent service a nice not too loud atmosphere plenty of staff who weren’t intrusive definitely a good place for a celebration meal … the steaks (gaucho platter £130) were excellent although the chips were disappointing they were a standard offering the chimchurri was superb … it lost out on five stars as the puddings were grim the cookie dough was very poor and the lemon meringue was a disgrace but all in all the meal was good

We came on a Sunday and had the Sunday roast, the beef was absolutely delicious. A little bit expensive but the quality of the meat lived up to the price, and all the trimmings were likewise excellent. Tried the cheesecake for dessert which was also very tasty. Live music playing when we got there was a lovely touch. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, nice atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend for a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself to a great meal.

Wonderful experience, a true jewel. Amazing atmosphere, great design, awesome cuisine. Our fillet stake was perfect, highlight of the night for my son, who I treated with a small celebration on his 18th. Useful to mention that he doesn’t like mashed potatoes in general but truly admired the mash served with his stake. The starters were top notch, we shared beef tartar tacos & cheese and truffle croquettes, the latter were especially delicious). Argentine prawn cocktail was pretty memorable too ) The restaurant offers a great wine list split into Argentinian and world sections. We really appreciated some Californian red (Maggio, Zinfandel 2021 was just gorgeous). Very tasty desserts: we shared a chocolate tart which was very smooth and not too sweet, the way I love it. My son was also presented a complementary birthday apple crumble which came as a true surprise - even if you love it and familiar with its taste, this version would bring you some absolutely new impressions ) Many thanks to Eiden for being so nice, professional and of a great service, especially for a perfect stake demonstration to help us make our mind and own choice of apple crumble as a birthday treat ) 10 out of 10, just loved it

**Review of Gaucho Leeds** I recently visited Gaucho Leeds for a 71st birthday celebration, and it was truly a memorable experience. The evening began with a warm greeting as we were seated in the bar area, where we enjoyed complimentary birthday bubbles. This lovely touch set the tone for the night. Our waiter was fantastic, friendly, accommodating, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His enthusiasm made our dining experience even better. The food itself was delicious and beautifully presented, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. What stood out most was the waiter's ability to cater to our group's specific requests. He expertly crafted drinks on the spot, including some unique options not listed on the menu, which was a hit with one of our more demanding guests who prefers blue drinks. Overall, everything was spot on, making for an amazing birthday meal. Thank you, Gaucho Leeds, for a wonderful celebration!

From the moment we stepped through the doors, I knew this was going to be a special experience. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting—warm lighting, tasteful décor, and the mouthwatering aroma of steaks in the air. But what truly elevates this restaurant is the staff. Every single person, from the host to the servers and even the kitchen staff you catch glimpses of, exudes genuine warmth and professionalism. Our server, Ramon, was incredibly attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. You could tell the team works with passion and pride, and it made us feel like more than just customers—we felt like welcome guests. Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the steak. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Each bite was a reminder of why a great steak is an experience, not just a meal. The sides and sauces were equally impressive—clearly crafted with care and flavor-forward without overshadowing the main event. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply in the mood for an unforgettable dinner, this restaurant is a must-visit. With phenomenal food and a staff that makes you feel like family, it’s easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Abolutely amazing experience! I choose this restaurant for a date night with my wife and i wasn't disappointed at all. I finally went in here for lunch today, and really pleased I did. Exceptionally impressed with the quality of the food, the value and the friendliness of the team. The red curry was perfect, as was the fried squid. Very generous portion sizes too. Will return and highly recommend.

Our first time here and it’s 10/10, the quickest service I have ever experienced, the starters and main were delicious, great pricing and the staff were all lovely and even talked us through the whole menu to help us decide, will be back! Was in and out in less than an hour too! Amazing place!!

This has to be one of my favourite Thai food place to eat. The food is properly made and delicious. Your food also comes out looking like the pictures on the menue. The staff are so friendly, good customer service and does it all with a smile. The food are fairly priced and I'd say worth every buck. It's a good spot for a group or birthday dinner. Just tell them the occasion, brace yourself for a Thai birthday drums and song if you're celebrating. It gets busy most times, but most times you get seated less than 5 minutes 🤞 Definitely coming back.

It was very delicious. I'm a fan of Tom Yum and it was great here. For dessert Glouy Tod, buttery fried bananas with vanilla ice cream - so nice. Friendly service with a smile. Thank you 💛

We had a lovely time here tonight! The food was so authentic, it took me right back to my holiday in Thailand. The starters, mains, and desserts were all delicious. It’s my new favourite spot on the map! ☺️

I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing, the decor imitates a Bangkok market. Loved it in here. The food was okay. I really liked the squid pad nam prik pao, this was very tasty. The Bangkok platter is also a great sharing platter. The service was very good and the drinks are great. I just can’t get over the decor and atmosphere. It’s really worth a visit!!

We go here all the time, really really busy on a Sunday evening and i love to see it, we ordered a red curry and the creamier sibling to the red curry, they both tasted the same sadly, literally had no difference in taste, the chicken was off and had a really bad taste, we notified a member of staff who told us all the chicken is fresh, we didn't eat, we paid and left. Maybe they were having an off day but i couldn't go back again after that.
Juwel — Google review
Vibrant Thai street-style restaurant with such a fun atmosphere, there’s even a Tuk Tuk you can sit at as a dining table, Thai music playing, and Thai chefs cooking away in the open kitchen. It really feels like stepping into a Bangkok night market, lively and authentic. The menu has a great range of options - noodles, rice dishes, curries, and snacks, all at mid range prices, making it a solid choice for dinner. We tried: • Thai prawn crackers: Slightly spicy, a nice starter though a little pricey. • Gang Kiew Wan: Creamy with coconut milk, mildly spicy, packed with flavor. Tender chicken and perfect with rice, highly recommended! • Pad Thai Moo Krob: Dry fried noodles with a sweet sour balance, made extra tasty with pork belly and crispy pork skin. • Tom Yum Seafood: Requested mild spice, great balance of sour and spicy, full of prawns, mussels, and squid. Delicious with rice. • Watermelon Fruit Shake: Refreshing, just the right sweetness, perfect to cool down the spice. And also the Thai beer! Overall, Zaap is the best Thai food I’ve had so far in the UK. If you’re in Leeds and looking for authentic flavors at reasonable prices, this spot is a must visit! 🆗 Thai prawn crackers 🆗 Pad Thai Moo Krob 👍🏻 Gang Kiew Wan 👍🏻 Tom Yum Seafood 👍🏻 Watermelon Fruit Shake

Salvo's is a lively and family-friendly Italian restaurant in Leeds that has been delighting diners with traditional Italian dishes infused with modern flair for over 30 years. The enthusiastic owners, John and Gip Dammone, have kept the concept fresh by opening Salvo's Salumeria, a neighboring deli-cafe that offers an array of regional Italian delicacies.
Such lovely food! A great main menu plus vegan and gluten free menus for me and my friend - perfect. Staff are so helpful and polite. It's now my go-to place for eating in Leeds pre-gig 👌🏻

Food was great! We shared two of the gluten free pizzas as one of us is coeliac. Best gluten free pizza we've tried! Staff were really on it with intolerances too, checked first thing at the door. Gluten free menu is quite substantial too so there is lots of options, would highly recommend.

My Daughter took me to Salvo's today, for Fathers Day. I'm a huge Pizza lover & wouldn't want to guess how many hundreds that I've eaten over the last 40+ years, from restaurants, take aways, supermarkets & even buy by the slice places, when in New York but todays Rustica from Salvo's, was without doubt the best pizza that I've ever tasted. I'll definitely be back!

Delicious food and large portions for the price too. I had the arancini balls and lamb shoulder and they were both very nice. Service was very good throughout, although there was a bit of delay between mains and dessert. But we felt well looked after aside from that and the staff were very accommodating with the baby. Will definitely be back!

Breakfast restaurant
Located in the heart of Leeds at the Victoria Quarter Arcades, The Ivy Victoria Quarter is a two-story restaurant known for its vibrant decor and British menu offerings. The restaurant's traditional green and gold Art Deco stylings create a stylish and elegant atmosphere, with outdoor seating available for sunny days. Renowned for its delectable afternoon tea, the venue features an art deco interior with gold leaf ceilings and a twenties-style bar.
We didn’t book, but decided to call in here to have a light bite and a glass of Prosecco in the outdoor dining area. The waiter, Jack, came straight over and offered us water. We chatted a little and he asked whether we were celebrating anything, and we told him that it was my birthday and that was our reason for being in Leeds. We explained we are only having a small plate because we have a meal booked later in the day. The food we had was amazing, I highly recommend the crab starter, it’s definitely a special dish. We finished our food and asked for the bill. Next, Jack walks over with a desert with a candle in it And it had a little chocolate saying happy birthday on it. I was over the moon and it made my day. I want to thank you so much for your kindness and amazing service. Jack is a credit to the Restaurant (which is absolutely stunning). A Service like this Is memorable for all the right reasons and I will probably never forget his kindness 🩷🩷🩷

We visited The Ivy, Leeds on July 16, 2025, to celebrate my daughter’s university graduation and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant is beautiful, perfect for a special occasion. I had the prix fixe menu with duck salad, sea bass, side of mashed potatoes and crème brûlée — all delicious. One of my daughters had the same but chose the chocolate bombe, which was amazing too. Service was top-notch, our server was lovely and super attentive. Even the bathrooms were pretty! Highly recommend!

All of the staff were friendly. The restaurant was bright and welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive, explained that the gift voucher value I had for a cream tea could be used on the main menu instead. We had the cream tea. It was lovely. We got a large pot of tea each and 3 fresh, warm scones with cream & jam each. We were offered an extra tea bag each as we like strong tea! As it was my birthday, the waiter brought me a giant profiterole with a candle in it. A lovely touch.

The place it self is fabulous it looks very classy, it just the service isn’t up to par with what it is. We ordered a desert the chocolate bomb, which was ok but not a wow. Portion wasn’t big either, repo ally the ice cream scoop. We also ordered morning and afternoon tea which were very light which was disappointing as the presentation was nice. Overall wouldn’t go again disappointing especially for being over 25 pounds and with 12% service charge.

Tapas restaurant
Nestled in a basement beneath an unassuming office building, La Taberna Leeds is a cozy Spanish restaurant offering a variety of meat, seafood, and veggie tapas along with sangria and wine. Despite its small size, the rustic dining room exudes warmth and charm.
Hands down the best tapas I've ever eaten. La Taberna quickly became one of my favorite restaurants after visiting recently. Every dish was of a super high quality and made of the freshest ingredients. This place is miles ahead of a lot of tapas restaurants in surrounding areas. The sangria was crisp and refreshing, staff were attentive and friendly. Just an all around faultless experience and I look forward to visiting in the future.

Food was delicious and the service was excellent, a lovely little place that I definitely recommend - especially the aubergine fritters! Only small complaint/why have marked atmosphere down slightly is there was an off-putting smell coming from the direction of the toilets a couple of times. I think there may be some pipe issues or something but once they're sorted it would be five stars all round!

Everything was amazing, from the moment me and my family walked in the waiters were lovely and the food was 100/10. The waiting time isn't even long, and WOW. I'm so impressed at the chefs, all the food was on point, and we congratulated the team as we fortunately were some of the last to come out of the restaurant. It's literally a hidden gem in Leeds and I am DEFINITELY going back. By the way, the tapas by themselves are quite big, so roughly three is enough to fill you up :)

Oh my days what a beautiful little find this was..my friends are moving to Spain. So it was a celebration for them & also for my 40th. The waiter was awsosme. So friendly & made us try ordering in Spanish.. I didnt do so well on that but the eating was my thing lol! I cant wait to return with more friends to taste more of the dishes on the menu

We enjoyed a lovely meal here recently. The restaurant is intimate and definitely has an authentic Spanish vibe. The menu had all the classic tapas dishes plus more. We tried 6 between two of us and we struggled to finish them. The dishes are on the pricier side, but well worth it as they are cooked fresh, and are delicious. Would definitely recommend the chorizo and the prawns as they were our favourite dishes. The staff were really attentive and helpful with explaining the menu etc. A great place for a date night or to bring friends and family, just make sure you book!

Aagrah Leeds City is a contemporary chain restaurant offering traditional regional dishes from India and Pakistan. The restaurant features an all-you-can-eat buffet on Sundays and Mondays, showcasing a variety of Indian favorites such as seekh kebabs, gosht balti, lamb nihari, and chicken makhani. With multiple locations in Leeds, Aagrah is known for its exceptional dining experience with a delicious menu and friendly staff.
The atmosphere was calm, cool and welcoming. The welcome we received from all staff was everything, I absolutely loved it. The food was great, you can eat as much as you want for less. I particularly loved the rice, chicken and the fish. The dessert was complimentary for us and unfortunately I don’t know the name but I tell you the best was saved for the last because I loved it (you can check my pictures for the dessert). You have to pay extra for your drinks. It was a really lovely time there and I’d definitely be visiting again. I recommend! You may book for a group as large as 10, we all had a lovely evening. Food is halal (for Muslims)

A real disappointment. Chicken tikka starter was dry and lacked flavour. Masala fish lacked any flavour and small amount. Butter chicken was nothing like butter chicken and was far too spicy when we asked for medium. Lamb karahi was poor, meat tasted like it had not been cooked in the sauce and lacked salt. Egg rice was fairly good. Poppadom pickle tray chutneys were not pleasant or fresh or presented well. No one wants whole spices in mango chutney just normal restaurant style is fine. Staff ganged up in one corner and chatted and laughed amongst themselves, unprofessional and unpleasant atmosphere. I know this sounds crazy but Leeds and Bradford both struggle to actually have good Indian restaurants for some reason. I thought aagrah would be better than most due to fancy looks and higher prices. I was wrong. Sheepscar and Nawaab Tong are probably the best.

This is the first time I went to this restaurant with my family and it was very disappointing experience. The food was not nice, not properly cooked. We ordered chicken palak, lamb karahi, butter chicken, none of them was tasty, and portions were small and pricey. Briyani not properly cooked either. Dessert was the same, didn't enjoy at all. The only shami kebab was nice and tandoori roti as well. From six of us nobody enjoyed it. We spent £140. Will never go again there.

We were a group of 8 ladies, out celebrating a birthday and had booked a bottomless brunch. We arrived early so had a drink first. £40 for 3 cocktails and a coke! We got settled around a table, for a bouncer to come and ask us to move and the table was pushed back. After our drinks, we were told our tables were ready. Unfortunately we were not happy we had been seated at two separate tables of 4. We had booked a table for 8 so did not expect to be seated separately from our friends. After discussion Aaron managed to fit us around a single table it was a squeeze but a better solution for us. Our waitress came straight over and poured prosseco and then came straight back to take our cocktail orders, then our food order she was brilliant. We had a constant stream of prosseco and cocktails!!!! She was too good 😂, we drank loads, it truly was bottomless,! The food was good we mainly all ordered burgers or chicken salad with a few extra rounds of fries to try to soak up the booze!! The toilets were far away and only 3 women's toilets!!! The toilets completely let the place down!! This venue is really large, 3 toilets were definitely not enough! As the night drew on there was a member of staff making sure there was no queue jumping and she had access to a further 2 more toilets in the staff area that she was guiding women to. The waitress was very good at her job we all had a great time. The place was loud with a DJ playing and people dancing right up to our table it's not the place to go to be able to chat . Aaron the manager came to check how our experience was whilst we were paying the bills, he asked what we were celebrating, a 40th, and then brought out shots for all! Not that we needed more alcohol. We stayed for a while and enjoyed the music before moving on. Would I do a bottomless lunch here again, yes but I would come earlier and be seated upstairs and then come downstairs afterwards to enjoy the party atmosphere.

Came across this place by accident whilst having a drink elsewhere. The menu looked interesting so we went inside. Greeted by a friendly man. Saw Indian people eating there so took that as a good sign. Had a variety of dishes that are very different from a typical Indian restaurant. We really enjoyed our food and my spicy cocktail was delicious. The only negative was that there were chickpeas in a dish and they weren't included in the ingredients on the menu otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. However I managed to pick them out and give them to my husband. Great environment and friendly and attentive staff. I would recommend.

This was my very first time trying authentic Indian food, and wow, it was truly Indian, especially with that signature spiciness. From the starters to the mains and even the desserts, everything tasted so rich and genuinely Indian. I absolutely loved it! A big highlight was the warm and attentive service from my friend Ayesha/Esha, which made the whole experience even better and makes me want to come back for more. Hey Ayesha/Esha, keep smiling. Indian food might be spicy, but it was incredibly delicious. I would definitely be back next time. The decor is vibrant and beautifully designed, transporting you to a lively Indian setting. The food was delicious, though some dishes were slightly spicier than expected. However, this added to the authentic Indian flavors that each meal presented. The variety of dishes offered something for everyone, and the portion sizes were generous. Overall, the Indian Tiffin Room is a great choice for those seeking authentic Indian street food in a lively and inviting environment. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience!

The okra fries are a new favourite of mine – so moreish – and the chaat bombs are exactly what the name promises: explosive flavour in every bite. The mains were outstanding too. The lamb dish in particular is an absolute must-order – tender, rich, and perfectly spiced. Even the non-alcoholic cocktails were a highlight. Fresh, vibrant, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. If you’re in Leeds and love bold, exciting Indian street food with top-notch service, you need to book a table here. I’ll definitely be back!

Today we had a very nice Indian meal in Leeds. The food was delicious and full of flavor, and our table was very well taken care of by Esha. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great service and a lovely experience overall – highly recommend!

Mexican restaurant
Lupe's Cantina Mexicana is a laid-back Mexican eatery offering a wide array of traditional Mexican dishes, along with cocktails and beer, all served in a simple yet art-filled setting. Established in 2016, this authentic restaurant has become a popular spot for food enthusiasts seeking to indulge in an extensive menu featuring various tacos and enchiladas prepared in unique ways.
First visit to this fabulous Mexican restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. I liked the tapas style dishes and enjoyed them all. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble! Also .. at last a restaurant where they do not charge the earth for a bottle of wine! Well done! The cocktails were amazing and again prices really well. Wonderful decor and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing food, vibes and staff! The value for money is crazy all the staff are friendly make you feel so welcome really looking forward to coming back and trying something new! Highly recommend the camarones al diablo 🤌🏽

Aside from a slight timing issue with drinks not coming out very quickly (food arrived first) this was a really enjoyable experience with some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Incredibly flavourful, fresh and well presented in decent portion sizes with quite reasonable pricing to boot. The Tacos Ensenada were the stand-out for me but I'm sure anything on the menu would bring pleasure. Limited on-site parking (not helped by some questionable attempts) but plentiful options across the road on the neighbouring streets. This definitely won't be my last visit and I'll be telling everyone I know that they need to go too.

This has been my favourite restaurant in Leeds for the last 5 years and continues to do so. The food is always such an amazing highlight with such an ambience of authenticity. The drinks are so exciting! Not to mention their specials menu which give you a choice of a wide range of drinks for the same price as their regular menu. I cannot recommend this place more than enough.

Visited this restaurant as a walk-in cos saw it as quite buzzing, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The food was average, nothing special. Our group (Asian) and another walk-in group (local) arrived around the same time with the same number of people. Despite this, we were seated at the cramped counter, while the other group was promptly given a proper table. The staff claimed that only counter seats were left for walk-ins, but right after we sat down, they seated them at an empty table that clearly could’ve accommodated us. The service throughout was cold and indifferent toward us, which made the meal feel even more unpleasant. At that point we just wanna get a taste of the ordered food and leave.

Oh my gosh, I’ve not had mussels better anywhere else. We were very well attended to as a large group for a staff dinner, and our drinks and food came promptly and with a smile. Raving reviews all around the table!

Great Mexican Resto-Bar. Lively ambiance, good food and splendid service. Great option for a quick bite to a heavy meal. Variety of options from the mexician cuisine. The Tacos Ensenada with a dash lime was great bite. A special mention to the overall service of the staff, had a great evening.

Sushi takeaway
HanaMatsuri is a cozy Japanese eatery located on Meanwood Road in Leeds, known for its transition from an exclusive sushi bar to a more relaxed izakaya-style restaurant. The restaurant offers a variety of cooked Japanese dishes, sushi rolls, and sake options. Chef Kaoru Nakamura showcases exemplary knife skills and uses fresh fish mainly sourced from Cornwall.
We really enjoyed our time here! The attention to detail, the amazing service and of course delicious food! We were introduced to many types of new seafood, ways of cooking, tastes and textures! We love the seasonal menu and will definitely be coming again for a special occasion 🤍🍽

So glad to see this place open again and serving sushi! The food is so high quality and prepared with such skill. The service is excellent - very attentive and friendly. Everything we ate was delicious, we ordered seconds of several things. The sake selection is great too. Would recommend and will definitely be back.
Stella D — Google review
Now serving izakaya which is a kind of Japanese tapas. Much more accessible and affordable than when it was a sushi restaurant and you can now turn up without booking which is a bonus. A good selection of very tasty Japanese dishes. Would definitely recommend.
Justin K — Google review
Beautiful food that is prepared and presented with great care! So tasty, atmosphere felt authentic, and service was attentive without being overbearing. We were sat at the bar facing the chef so could watch the sushi being prepared, which was very cool to watch! It was also really affordable - myself and two friends paid £13 each for three dishes, and were kindly given many cups of free green tea. Unsure why Google suggests a meal would cost £100+ because it is much, much cheaper!!
Shae V — Google review
The best Japanese sushi experience I have had. I had been wanting to go to Hana Matsuri for so long and finally went and it delivered beyond expectation. The Omakase menu was sublime, all ingredients were put together perfectly and the quality was absolutely on point. It's expensive of course, but worth it if you enjoy incredible food and a great experience. The chef was happy to explain dishes to use and any other questions.
Oli P — Google review
Thank you so much for your kindness and patience. The food was truly awesome, expertly prepared. Exquisite tastes and textures. We’d love to return 🥰
Bryn L — Google review
Sushi Bar HanaMatsuri is an unassuming, intimate, gem of an establishment. Today I experienced the Omakase menu. It is worth noting to anyone unfamiliar with the concept, that Omakase means “I’ll leave it to you”. In other words, the chef will prepare a series of dishes over the course of a meal combining the chef’s experience, knowledge and what product is in season. From my experience today I can say that it is clear that chef prioritises sourcing only fresh, seasonal, high quality ingredients. Having visited many Japanese restaurants and sushi bars across the UK I can say without a doubt, you should come to Sushi Bar HanaMatsuri if you want to experience high quality, authentic, Japanese sushi. Thankyou for your hospitality and for the delicious food. It was an absolute pleasure. Until next time!
Karim S — Google review
I'm lucky enough to have visited Japan and this place is an absolute gem of an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant, tucked away in Meanwood. From the outside its modest looks and closed blinds give nothing away and certainly don't tempt you in. However, inside lies an experience that will transport you to Japan for an hour or two. You must pre-order your food because the priority here is freshest sashimi you can possibly find. Your ingredients are bought in especially for you. The chef/ owner specialises only in sushi (there is no ramen or tempura available) and that's what makes it amazing. We had a sashimi tasting menu which was mind blowing. The care and dedication lavished on each dish was obvious. The food is prepared directly in front of you (the theatre of watching is magical) and served seconds after it is finished. The Japanese government publishes a list of officially approved Japanese restaurants in Europe. This is one of only 10 outside London in the UK. Book now while you have the chance. Went back again this month (July 2020) and were the first "post lockdown" diners! Updated menu, still amazing. We think this restaurant deserves a Michelin star it's that good. It has already achieved an entry in the Michelin guide so don't wait around!

OWT is a neighborhood restaurant located on Burley Road that offers both lunch and dinner. The menu is hand-made and changes regularly, drawing inspiration from the local market's produce to create affordable and carefully crafted dishes. The owners, James Simpson and Esther Miglio, started in Kirkgate Market before moving to the Corn Exchange, where they continue to showcase the best produce from neighboring traders. This laid-back bistro combines French and Yorkshire culture, offering a joyful and arty atmosphere.
This has to be one of the best places in Leeds. Run by the most passionate people. Food is always exceptional. Lovely seasonal variations with emphasis on good taste & quantity. Price point is so accessible. They really care about dietary requirements as well. Must visit!

The best fried chicken I have EVER had (in England). Four of us dining today for a pre Christmas get together. The food and service overall was second to none. We ordered the Fried Chicken with rice, Bhaji plate with sides of triple cooked chips, focaccia and the Green lettuce in vinaigrette. Everything cooked to perfection and served in good time. Our server was friendly and welcoming, remembering 2 of us that were dining from our last meal there a few weeks ago. The menu is always interesting with vegetarian and gluten free options. This little gem of a place is a well worth visit, once you've been it will be one of your regular 'go to' places.

Amazing fried chicken, onion bhaji and focaccia! Also enjoyed a really nice glass of wine, only the fries were a bit disappointing, I’m more of a crispy fry person personally. Very homely atmosphere, almost like you’ve popped to their house and they’ve set up a private table for you.

Went to OWT last Friday and had some of the best fried Chicken I’ve ever had , perfectly seasoned , fresh and succulent this was for starters. I had then opted for the Parmesan burger and this was a delight to the taste buds an amazing Mariana sauce and cheese and also great tasting bun, This was accompanied with a great cocktail . Prices were very good for the quality of ingredients and freshness and the service was also very good . Overall I would highly recommend and I will be definitely be paying another visit soon !

Incredibly thoughtful dishes that are playful and so tasty. The gluten free fried chicken is things dreams are made of… so good they even have it on a roast dinner! My partner always gets the chicken and it even made me break being veggie to try it… no regrets. The grilled cheese is part of Leeds food history. The chickpea fritters are to die for. The careful collection of Gasqui wines are paired with such thought to each meal. Behind the food, Esther and James are the heart behind the menu. Esther is such a fabulous, friendly and funny host, she is extremely attentive in a relaxed and un fussy way. On my partner’s birthday she even put a candle on a gravy boat. Fantastic food for a very reasonable price! We have been going to OWT since they started in the market, we followed them to the corn exchange and then now Burley Road. Don’t sleep on OWT! You’ll leave full and happy.

If you find yourself in Leeds city centre and want lunch, go here. It’s perfect. It’s a small restaurant in the Corn Exchange, a beautiful space with a short but frequently changing menu. I took my daughter & goddaughter there today during a shopping trip. I think between us we had most things on the menu. The fried chicken and triple cooked chips I had were very good, their dill pickles were the best I’ve had in the UK & the plain green salad was the best I’ve had outside of France. Service was friendly, engaging and efficient, food and drinks arrived in good time. I highly recommend this place & can’t wait to come back.
Martin L — Google review
Lovely little place tucked into the Corn Exchange. Not a lot of seats and some of the two tops were quite cozy, but it still felt spacious and light. Small menu but everything looked tasty. I went for the grilled cheese and only wish I'd been hungry enough to get the chips too because those looked amazing as they paraded past to other tables. I loved that every menu item was paired to a recommended wine or beer. All very lovely. Definitely recommend for a quick bite or a leisurely meal.
Maha N — Google review
Always the best food, vibes, service and time at Owt. My sister loved her fried tofu baguette and my GF fried chicken ranch salad was incredible. Finally got to try the chicken and it was the best fried chicken in leeds hands down. They have plenty of veggie and vegan options too on their seasonal menus. Always recommend no matter which menu though. Even their drinks selection is top tier. Had some of their amazing wine previously but this time just had a cloudy apple juice which was so nice. Not your averages juices and smoothies! They’re always so fab and lovely, giving the best service too. Obviously the interior is stunning and it’s such a lovely spot to eat even on a boiling summers day! Support your local independents!

We were strolling through the city center when we spotted this place and decided to give it a try—and it was the best decision ever! The curry chicken with rice and all the toppings was incredible, and the crispy cauliflower was out of this world. The prices are reasonable, and the service is outstanding. Definitely give it a try—you won’t regret it!

Such a gem. We didn't book a table but we were lucky enough to have seats at high chairs. The staff is very friendly, relaxed and chatty. Food is amazing, and if you are struggling to use chopsticks 🥢-don't hesitate and ask for cutlery.(I am absolutely rubbish to use them in public, and would have food all over me ,and possibly other people😂). We had crispy cauliflower, and dumplings for start and both had 🍜 Ramen( that's what we was planning to have). It didn't disappoint! Nom nom nom! We will back when next time visiting Leeds for gig. Thank you!
Izabela W — Google review
Went here for lunchtime, the menu is ok, can be better. Mostly pork or chicken, there were other ramen that I would've tried, but it was plant based, unfortunately. The lack of beef dishes was a bit disappointing, and the gyoza's arrived earlier than the main food, we waited for the ramen but came too late so we just went ahead and ate the gyoza otherwise they'd go cold. The original fu ramen was a bit too rich and creamy slightly made me feel sick, so I stopped eating it. Don't get me wrong. The dish is nice but not for me.

Had a lovely meal at House of Fu this afternoon. My partner has some food allergies and the staff made him feel really reassured and informed which meant we could both enjoy our food worry free! It was delicious, the atmosphere was really relaxed, and the staff were lovely! Will definitely dine there again.

We looooove House of Fu. This place is our staple and we come here almost every month. Each ramen is carefully crafted to perfection. Johnny and his level of service is outstanding 👏

Loved the vibe of this place and the cool tiling and general decor/colour scheme. Had a nice mocktail menu and the staff were very attentive, chickened out of trying ramen for the first time but enjoyed the cauliflower rice bowl instead - very generous portions also!

My fav restaurant when I was in Leeds. My go-to was the Original Fu Ramen with added kimchi—as good as the best ramen places I’ve been to in NYC and Japan. The Fu Katsu is also absolutely delicious. Edit: Had the privilege of coming back after a few months and taste new dishes. Highly recommend the shoyu chicken ramen and the kimchi & cheese ramen! Keep being fabulous, House of Fu!
José P — Google review
Food was quite nice but service was pretty poor! Staff weren’t particularly friendly and even when the restaurant was closing after lunch, staff were no where to be seen and we were left with empty plates on our table until we finally were able to collar someone to bring us the bill. The ramen and gyozas were very oily and I left with an upset tummy. Probably wouldn’t return

Hamburger restaurant
Slap & Pickle Burgers at Assembly Underground in Leeds offers a delightful culinary experience. Their hamburgers are crafted using a unique blend of 40-day dry-aged, grass-fed Yorkshire beef from Swaledale. The patties are expertly smashed on a flat top until they become thin, juicy, and delicately lacy. These mouthwatering creations are then placed in glossy brioche buns alongside fresh shrettuce, pickles, and their delectable burger sauce.
Best burgers in Leeds hands down! The quality meat that goes into these makes the difference and you can taste it! The deal here is tasty beef burgers, cheese, bacon and loaded fries (some in massive sizes!) They also do vegan options of the full menu so what's not to love??! THESE ARE A MUST!
Edward S — Google review
We are regular vistors to the assembly underground and big fans of falafel guys, but we had not yet tried a slap and pickle burger, until now. Wow. Can honestly say they were the best burgers we have ever had (and we have had a few 😅). Wish we had had one sooner! The loaded fries were really good too. Defo will be ordering again takeaway or eat in soon. Assembly staff were fab too very attentive to table service and felt safe yet with a good atmosphere still inside.
Melissa L — Google review
Little bit of a wait to order as there was just one guy cooking and taking orders (12pm on a Wed). Waited about 20 minutes for my burger then was told the deep fried pickles would be longer due to lack of batter and needing to make some. Definitely needed another staff member behind there, got one at 12:30/12:45. Burger was decent. Better than a fast food burger and most restaurant burgers. I'm from the North East and we have Fat Hippo and Meat:Stack burgers that I always compare too. It's not quite at that level 😅 Wish I'd stopped at the burger tbh. I would have gave it 5 stars. Waited about 5 minutes after finishing the burger to get the fried pickles. Not worth the wait. Not worth the money (let's face it, pickle in batter at £4.50 is never going to be worth the money - that's like 20p worth of ingredients). The thicker cut slices of pickle were better than the thin. The thin were just like eating batter. The batter didn't taste nice, it was very dark (like burnt) on the outside, yet raw on the inside. It was super greasy. I ended up pulling the pickles out the batter and just eating them on their own. Horrible experience! Left with that taste in my mouth 😟 Note to business: either take those pickles off the menu or work on the recipe 🤢 and staff up!
Ben G — Google review
Had an interesting experience here the other day. Me and a group of people I wars with come here for a meal, you order your meal then get given a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. Mine buzzed got my burger and loaded chilli fries, the burger taste really good but the fries where a little bit salty. That was on the thing that let it down for me.
Mark N — Google review
I was in Leeds for the weekend and, as a vegan, it’s always a little daunting when it comes to food options. I ordered late at night and was very thankful Slap & Pickle was open and had an abundance of vegan options available. Also bought the vegan duck loaded fries but they’re not pictured. My only qualm is putting stale frazzles on the chips was a little bit of a let down, but I’ll let it slide for the overall taste.
Kamala A — Google review
Been to Slap & Pickle numerous times and always enjoyed their burgers and sharing fries. Normally I'd give them a 5 star rating, however on my latest visit (12/02/2022) the Big Mick Fries were more like wedges than their usual fries and were soggy and sticking to/mushing up the paper underneath, rather than crisp. Not sure if that was down to being cooked in oil that wasn't up to temperature or because it was loaded with so much more sauce than usual. Not up to the usual standard, hence lost a star in my rating
Graham M — Google review
Ordered from Horsforth (won't show up on Google maps) via Uber Eats. It tastes good but I'm sorry - no way it is worth 8.95, there was nothing special about it for it to be priced at arguably 10 pounds, it's a standard small burger with a meat-free patty. It arrived almost cold, the driver seemed to simply have it on the back of his seat. Considering that in total I paid over 12 pounds for the whole burger experience, I doubt I will be ordering again unfortunately.
Arttem G — Google review
The burger was great although a little small. The chips were awful, the oil definitely needed changing

Best Chinese restaurant in Leeds. I have been going here since 7 years ago! Never disappointed with the quality. Although I noticed that the taste of spicy dish was much less spicy 🌶️ than what I normally got, other dishes were still impressive.

MML R — Google review
Quite authentic, extensive menu that includes all the non-meat parts of an animal that are commonly consumed in Chinese cuisine (and I simply avoid 🙂). The prices are a bit of the upper side for a Chinese restaurant of its type/location (about 25pp), but it's probably worth it I'd say, nothing was bad, the salt and pepper wings and squid in black bean sauce tasted great, the noodle soup though a bit bland.

Food awesome, top selection of food truck choices of pizza, wings and burgers. Lamb pizza off the charts. Often queues but good things come to those who wait. Great beer, good selection of seating options from beer keller style tables, to sofas to rooftop booths. Family friendly during the day. DJ appears to be in all days, good tunes so good vibes, laughter and chats for all. From IPA to cocktails so good drinks choices at reasonable prices. Gig venue upstairs, compact but perfectly formed. Been to both standing and seated gigs. Never had a sofa for a gig before. A revelation!

Little Bao Boy is a hidden gem in Leeds, located inside the North Brewing Co. taproom. This independent street food vendor offers a unique twist on Asian cuisine, serving up handmade bao buns and other delectable dishes. The menu features a variety of options, including vegan-friendly choices like Oyster Mushroom bao bun and Salt and Pepper Aubergine bao bun.
Good food, especially the bao and chips meal. Will come again. I suggest the fried tofu can come solely with dipping of lee kum kee sweet sauce, guilin style chilli sauce and sweet soy sauce as a separate side. Just like famous “stinky tofu" in Hong Kong but skipping the strong smell, but simply make it more crispy outside, and soft with soya taste inside. Twinkle with salt and pepper.

It's a great place for a quick lunch near Leeds Station. I like that there is outside seating. I only wish I could order drinks and food together. There are quite a few German draft beers on offer.

Finally got to try Little Bao Boy at the St Albans Foodies Festival, and it hit the spot. I went with the beef brisket teriyaki bao, and it was delicious. The beef was perfectly cooked, tender, and with the right amount of teriyaki sauce. The bao itself was soft and fluffy, and the combo of sauce and pickled cucumber was perfect. I was a little disappointed they were out of crispy onions - that extra crunch would’ve been a nice touch. The only downside - they didn’t allow me to get two different bao buns, and the portion size felt a bit smaller than what I'd seen on social media and reviews. I'm excited to check out more of their menu at their new London location soon

First came here on Valentine’s Day, completely decorated with Candles. Filled place. Loved the Gyozas and Cauli Bites. Second time was here, we used some discounts and got the deal. Ordered 2 sets of 3 Baos and a side of Veg Gyozas. Gyozas was amazing, comes in 5pcs per plate. Baos were amazing as well - ordered Teriyaki Mushroom, Crispy Tofu, OG KFB, and Beef Brisket Teriyaki. The best was Teriyaki Mushroom.

Natalie L — Google review
I feel mixed! On one hand, food came pipping hot, beautiful, and tasted great. On another hand.... £5 per bao and £1 per gyoza feels fine for a bar snack but sad for dinner.
Bethany K — Google review
I got this from the Stockport Deliveroo little Bao Boy. Posting here so somebody sees the state of this. I can’t believe I actually paid for this ‘pulled mushroom bao’. Never again. The mushroom was rock hard and inedible so I paid about £8 for a bao bun and mayonnaise. Disgraceful.

Ollie was a fantastic host and very attentive. Only let down was a longer wait between appetiser/starter and main but we were there on a Saturday evening and it was very busy! Food was so good. The steak was very very tasty! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Great food with friendly staff. We had the Mushroom and meatball starters, mushrooms were creamy and delicious. Meatballs were a little rich, great nevertheless. I had the Sea Bass with an extra fillet (great price for the extra fish, too good to not take up on the offer). Fish was fresh and delicate, also the veg was tasty and soft. My girlfriend had the steak, the steak was recommended as medium on the menu and she had as such (usually ordered at medium rare). The steak was cooked well, buttery and tender. Dessert was skipped as the portions are quite hearty, particularly the starters, not as if that’s something to complain about.

Absolutely stellar experience! The food was nothing short of spectacular. The crab fettuccine, in particular, was rich, fresh, and bursting with flavor. On top of that, Mia provided exceptional service, attentive and friendly from start to finish. A memorable night all around. Highly recommended!

Dom our server was really pleasant and had great customer service, it was my partner’s birthday so he even offered a free dessert, which was so delicious. This is our third time here and as always the atmosphere was amazing, with the best food.

Dom was absolutely wonderful! Explained my meal beautifully and dealt with my dairy allergy way past my expectations. I absolutely could not have asked for more - in a world where many restaurants treat an allergy as an inconvenience I cannot thank you enough.

With a dedicated Christmas menu, à la carte options, and seven-course tasting menus using high-quality ingredients from local providers such as Ginger Pig butchers in North Yorkshire, guests can enjoy an exceptional dining experience.
I had a beautiful experience and I will definitely revisit. Getting off the lift, the reception from staff and atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. I enjoyed all the meals I ordered and also tried the cauliflower steak (it was my first time trying a vegetarian dish and it was delicious). I also loved the idea of savouring my meal while seated in a room filled with plants. If you really don’t like plants you might be a bit uncomfortable as this location could pass for a beautiful greenhouse.

Angelica & Crafthouse is a charming venue for celebrations, offering a delightful atmosphere and an excellent location. While the food is of average quality with small portions that lean towards the pricey side, the overall experience makes it worth a visit.

Stunning food, great service. We had a fantastic experience. We asked to share our starters, no problem at all. We had asparagus and the scallops. Both beautiful. The lamb was beautiful too very tastes and cooked medium rare which is just how I like it. I am sure they would cook it to your preference. , I had it with the blackened carrots. Cod was so chunky too and cooked to perfection. We were so full but we had the cheeseboard and again it was delicious and even put on extra crackers! Lovely birthday and anniversary treat we Will definitely be back Thank you!

My partner and I visited for the first time a couple weekends ago and we absolutely loved it! Staff are welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. For starters I ordered the asparagus, which I had never tried before and was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the mackerel, which was a tiny bit salty for his own tastebuds but still really enjoyed. We had the steak and the duck breast for mains and both dishes were incredible. Sticky toffee pudding to finish and wow! So delicious. The staff even brought a complimentary glass of champagne and small pudding for my boyfriends birthday. The attention to detail at craft house is immaculate. We both absolutely loved our experience there and cannot wait to go again.

Well, can I give a sixth star? What a great night we've had at Crafthouse, the welcoming, the venue and the care we received from the staff was very professional throughout the all experience. I booked for my girlfriend birthday celebrations and left a message due to dietary requirements, few minutes later I received a phone call from reception and they reassured me that all our needs will be met, she was right! The menu is great, and the execution of the dishes was faultless, superb so was the quality of the ingredients and the presentation. The floor staff is very knowledgeable and caring, all I have left to say is that I'll be dining at Crafthouse over and over again, I can't wait!
Stefano D — Google review
Really good food, the pork shoulder, scallops, olives, foccacia bread, and the cod were just sublime. The manager was really good and the waiters too. Truly recommended
Sara C — Google review
Sadly I think that Crafthouse has gone downhill. I have visited multiple times over the years that it has been open, but I think this will likely be my last visit. The food was good, and the staff all very pleasant. Portions were good, and the food was good value for money. However, for a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide I would expect a higher level of service. The main issues seemed to stem from a very disjointed link between the drink orders and the food orders.. For example we ordered cocktails as an aperitif, yet they arrived during our first course (having an ice cold cocktail to accompany hot soup is just not good enough). Our butter was taken away before we had finished our bread, we asked for a second bottle of water that never appeared, and the heavy bass/noise from the bar upstairs did come across more as noise as opposed to atmosphere. It's not a bad place to visit: the food was on the whole very good, but overall the experience was not worth the money and it's the first time I have ever asked for the service charge to be removed.
Gavin B — Google review
You need to know where you're going to find this place as hidden away. Set on the 3rd floor you take a lift and are met by staff. We sat outside as a lovely night and it was very pleasant. We asked for cocktails and placed our order saying that we didn't want starter until cocktails finished. They came when we were still only halfway through 🤨 Then we were almost onto our main course with no bottle of wine and had to remind them. Starters of tuna tatiki and the asparagus were very good. Mains of duck and the stone bass also good but I wasn't keen on the celeriac sauce . The extra chips were great and could have had more of them. A nice bottle of rosé completed meal and it came to £140 with surcharge. Nice staff but just wish they'd listened to our request.

Whitelock's Ale House, the oldest pub in Leeds, has a rich history dating back to 1715 when it was known as The Turks Head. Acquired by the Whitelock family in the 1880s, this atmospheric establishment has been frequented by notable figures like the Duke of Kent and John Betjeman.
We were lucky, cause we had an amazing Sunday roast for dinner! (Yes, we were a bit late) The place and the food is amazing. It looks heavy but the truth is this meal is very comfortable food. I hope I will have a chance to come back soon.

Had a delicious Sunday roast at Leeds' oldest pub, first opened in 1715—over 310 years of history! The meat was tender, the roast potatoes were tasty (soaked in rich gravy), and the Yorkshire pudding was just right. A great spot for a proper traditional roast!

One of the best roasts in Leeds. Always miss the lamb but managed to snag it this time and it was spot on. Yorkies and gravy always top, as well as the pints. Had a lovely cask oat stout on. Love this pub.

We visited Whitelocks shortly after opening time (11am) just for a couple of drinks so i can't comment on the food. My friend Steven strongly recommended the Guinness and i have to say it was the best we have had in Leeds. It was rich and creamy - fantastic! The pub is superb with a lovely old style and copper topped tables. It is a very relaxing environment and the staff were friendly.

Mowgli Street Food in Leeds, located on Boar Lane, offers a delightful dining experience with its enchanting ambiance filled with fairy lights, hanging lanterns, and even swings at some tables. The restaurant is owned by renowned chef Nisha Katona and is known for serving sensational Indian street food. Customers can enjoy a variety of dishes such as gunpowder chicken, Himalayan cheese toast, and tiffin boxes filled with curry.
An amazing dining experience, we tried the set £35 per head menu with only one meat option as my wife is vegetarian. But everything was amazing. Each dish was bursting with flavour and super well presented. The staff were excellent and service was speedy but very friendly. The restaurant has a great look about it with fairy lights and plants everywhere. I'm terrible with names so I can't post the names of the dishes I had but everyone of them was amazing. I will definitely be visiting again.

We were served by the delightful Harley in Mowgli Leeds, Harley was brilliant with us being that we were there with friends to celebrate my husbands birthday. Harley was really kind and knowledgeable, explaining the menu to us and making sure we didn't feel rushed. All enjoyed the street food sharer for £25pp we received a table full of Mowgli’s iconic dishes! We didn't know what to expect as this was recommended by a friend, and my understanding was that it wasn't like the Indian we have come to know. Mowgli is all about the type of food that Indians cook and eat at home the dishes full of fresh, bright, intense flavour and were more like an Indian taps, the food at Mowgli felt so more healthy than normal Indian food. The decor at Mowgli Leeds was beautifully simple. The restaurant felt very clean. We definitely plan to return. Thank you, Harley, for a lovely experience.
Beverley L — Google review
Lovely food and service. We opted for the street food sharer. Its a good amount of food for 2 people. Drinks tasted AMAZING, my husband opted for the alcohol free as he was driving, and the options were fantastic. There is a good range available with food, and it caters to pretty much every dietary requirement.

I had such a great solo dining experience - the Mowgli Leeds team were kind, attentive and really helped me feel at ease. Particularly loved the angry bird chicken and the old fashioned. It would be great if there was a set meal option for solo diners, though.
Joanna C — Google review
Love the food at Mowgli as it's a little bit different; fruity and spice and all things nice; every mouthful has lots of flavour and the heat gently creeps in but doesn't overwhelm the dish. Staff were great in their advice - especially as it was a very hot day. The 2 starters were just what the doctor ordered! Love the decor too. All that was missing was Nisha!
Irene Z — Google review
Mowgli has started to become a little bit more expensive in recent years which is slightly disappointing. The food does however remain high quality and delicious. My only complaint would be that the sides could benefit from having some more inventive and healthy choices. Some vegetables would be nice to have alongside the meal to balance it out.

PHO in Trinity kitchen in Leeds city Center is a delight . We had vegetarian tofu spice noodle soup , chicken fried rice and stir fry noodles. All them were top in taste. Since this is a food court the seating can be tricky depending on the day and time. Will surely visit them again.

This is honestly the best Vietnamese food place in Leeds (2024). I’ve been to this places more than I’d like to admit. The food never disappoints. My go-to is the spicy beef brisket curry, summer rolls (prawns), and the crispy calamari. Their fresh juices are also so delicious. The staff are very friendly and efficient.
Space D — Google review
The pho was absolutely delicious – rich in flavour and very comforting. The portion size was generous, and I actually finished the whole bowl, including the soup. That rarely happens! I also ordered the Garlic Spicy Morning Glory, and it was such a highlight. Full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and just the right amount of spice. I’d highly recommend giving it a try. The service was excellent too. The staff were really friendly and patient, and took the time to explain the dishes to us.

One of the permanent stalls in Trinity Kitchen, and my first stop for dinner. I love vietnamese food and was very happy to see they had some here. I had the chicken and shrimp rice, which was very good, and came with soy sauce. For a decent size portion it was under £10, so would definitely get it again!

Amazing broth, delicious. Nice plate in genral with representation. But the chicken, the chicken, then chicken THE CHICKEN. If you dont season the chicken correctly to get rid of that smell of fridge then your food is ruined. Sadly the chixken tasted bad
Nossor B — Google review
Extremely underwhelming. Can't recall the last time I felt so disappointed after ordering food. Arrived at 11.20 to be told not taking orders before 11.30 even though website states opens at 11am. Didn't have any rice bowls which is why I went. 20 minutes after ordering my order was ready. Don't understand what took so long when everything I ordered would take literally 2 minutes to cook or just need 'plating up'. Glad it wasn't busy. Baby Squid was cooked nicely (crispy coating and tender squid) but the baby Squid was also a baby portion for >£6. Chinese leaf was also a tiny portion (about 2 leaves chopped into tiny pieces) for >£4 and was swimming in the saltiest, cheapest tasting soy sauce. Beef brisket Pho - the soup base had some flavour but was far from amazing yet the beef itself somehow was devoid of taste. Overall I could have made it better myself for 2 people for half the price. I wouldn't recommend and won't return. Lesson learned.

Northern Monk Refectory is a craft beer haven located in an industrial brewhouse with rotating pop-up food vendors and event space. Situated within the historic Monk Bar gatehouse, it offers the Richard III Experience, delving into the king's reign and life in 15th century York. Today I had both my best ever fish and chips and the best alc free larger. Big respect to the chef who put so much dedication and attention to detail into a stunning dish. It looked and tasted like a reinvention of a classic. The Peak Citra Lager was so tasty, I almost don’t want to drink proper lager anymore!

Already love the beer and the chilled atmosphere. But the current food offering is top tier: Indian inspired roast dinner was amazing. Tandoori chicken and Bombay inspired Yorkshire were delicious. Never hesitate to go back here. Accommodating for my gluten free family too!

The staff here are always super friendly. They have interesting beers and are always willing to talk through recommendations with you. The venue is well laid out and feels relaxed and friendly. I've tried the food twice now and have had a poor experience both times. This time the cheesy chips were oily to the touch, lukewarm, and the cheese was hard and unmelted. The Oakra Fries were, again, oily and lacked bite. I've read other positive reviews of the food and so may just have been unlucky. For beer, for relaxing, for a wonderful sun-trap on a nice day - definitely a venue of choice. For something to eat - probably not.
Bryan W — Google review
The food was very tasty I had the gf chicken burger. The only issue was there was some plastic in my burger. Which I highlighted to the staff. We completed the total warrior and they had a deal on But for a beer and burger for £15 seems pretty expensive.

The refractory is on three levels. The ground floor is the brewing area. First floor is the bar and tap room and the second floor is for private events. The beers are great and the brewery tour is fantastic. Ed gave our brewery tour and he was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend it, worth every penny. The outdoor area is very cool

Nice little craft beer / brewery tap. A short stroll from the centre but worth it. Nice outside areas but not suitable for our February visit. Plenty of craft to choose from. Not many mainstream beers, mostly sours and fruity versions with a couple of pales on our visit. Still a good choice. Food looked superb. Traditional slightly surly craft bar staff.

Northern Monk is once again home to the amazing food from Jah Jyot and Grilling Me Softly. After talking to Ranie for so long, we finally got to try his food and meet him in person! He has teamed up again with Anthony, one of our favourite chefs in the business, so we knew this was going to be something special. The residency at Northern Monk was absolutely popping when we went and deservedly so. The menu is Indian inspired Street Food in the form of Flatbreads, Small Plates and Sides. We have heard nothing but great things about their Indian Sunday Roast so will be back for that! One word of advice, come here hungry as they arent messing around with the portion sizes. We ordered the Small Plates Platter and expected a taster of each of the small plates but you basically get each one! An absolutely great deal! I dont think i can justify in writing just how good this food is- it is absolutely delicious and ticks every box on taste, quality, presentation, ingredient pairings. Everything was just singing with bold flavours and we savoured every bite What we ordered Salt and Pepper Squid with Wasabi Aoili- I am always sceptical about ordering squid as so many times it comes out rubbery and soggy. This was absolutely not the case here- the Creole batter was cooked to the perfect level. It was super super crispy while managing to keep the squid inside nice and soft- it was also nicely seasoned too giving that classic salt and pepper vibes. The pairing Wasabi packed a real punch too and brought out the flavour of the squid more. Everything about this dish was perfectly balanced Jeets Chops- This is a nod to Ranie's dad and what a stunning dish it is. Locally sourced high quality Lamb Chops cooked pink and marinated in a range of herbs and spices. There was so much soft juicy tender meat on these little beauties and the pairing sharp green chutney worked so well to elevate the flavours further. Chicken Lollipops- Boy did these pack a punch with the aromatic firey spicy coating. They were really tasty and the meat was super juicy inside- definitely no dry chicken here. Brett loves a fried chicken dish and this one was no exception. The sweet sauce circling the plate worked really well too to cool down the heat of the crispy chicken skin Grilled Rump, Yorkshire Goats Curd, Pickles, Salsa Verde, Crispy Onion- Anthony cooks a mean steak with pairing sauce so we know this was definitely one of his dishes from the menu. This steak was cooked to perfection with a lovely soft buttery pink centre. Who knew Goats Cheese would be such a good compliment to steak- the tangy savoury creamy richness of the cheese works so well. The Salsa Verde was zesty and fresh and the onions added a nice crunch to the meat Khubha Aloo (Wild Mushroom, Punjabi Masala, Garlic and Coriander Mash) Wow this was such a warming bowl of goodness. We always say some of the best curries are the Vegetarian ones and this absolutely fit that theory. It was punchy with a subtle kick of heat and we loved the earthiness of the wild mushrooms. The pairing mash was gorgeous- creamy, rich and bursting with that floral zingy coriander flavour Faith Battered Colley (White Fish in Northern Monk Beer Batter with Dill and Samphire Tartar) Wow there was so much fish packed into these little chunks of goodness. It was excellent quality and so flakey soft. The batter was absolutely gorgeous- crispy, thick, flavourful and not greasy. The salty sharp creamy tartar was such a great dip for the fish bites. Such a moreish dish that we could have carried on eating

I've never had such poor service. We ordered drinks, which we waited on for over 15mins, when we asked the bottle was just left on the bar for all this time. The staff all seemed to have smoked a large joint beforehand as they were so relaxed and quiet frankly didn't care. 20mins after placing our food order, the waiter came back and said they didn't have the dish in a casual tone, they didn't even provide a menu for us to look over to choose something else and no apology whatsoever. When we asked them to get one they huffed and returned, we had to prompt them to see if anything else wasn't available. We then ordered again and waited around another 25mins. When the food finally came, it was lovely. But, we hadn't even finished and a waiter came over to tell us they are bringing the bill as they close now... No choice for desert or anything. Staff were also eating in the restaurant on shift and went out to smoke in the front of the building for everyone to see. A real shame. If you don't mind poor service (which is automatically added to you bill btw), the food is lovely.
Faye W — Google review
First time visiting, very disappointing experience all around. Even though we had a table booked, service was slow, it felt like they were avoiding us, not checking in, not making eye contact. Very little interaction from the front of house staff who were clearly struggling to manage the volume of people they had seated. When our coffees finally came we were not provided sugar or a spoon to stir with. After waiting for my friend's drink for over 45 mins we were finally told after chasing that they don't actually have the ingredients for a green smoothie and should have been told, which obviously we have not been. The replacement drink came in a broken cup which is a health and safety hazard and I'm sure not okay to do so under any circumstances. The kitchen was an hour behind on orders but again we received no communication from the staff regarding this. The table next to us who arrived later started receiving bits of their order before us. The pancakes one of my friends ordered came separately 20 mins before the rest of our orders and again not provided cutlery, had to chase staff for it. When we finally received the rest of the food, we ordered 3 FINT breakfasts all 3 of the plates looked different and contained different things. Bits missing from one, doubles of other stuff on others completely inconsistent and annoying. The sausage was burnt, the bacon was a bit under done, poched egg over cooked, complete inconsistency with who's got what kind of bread. Whatever was missing they tried to make up for it in the number of crumpets. I'm sure a food is lovely when it's a normal day and not struggling with orders but this was our experience unfortunately. The whole experience left us very disappointed and we did end up asking for the food to be comped off the bill, which they did without argument.
Eszter I — Google review
Visited for the first time and it was very disappointing. The service was awful, very cold and the waiter seemed too bored to do their job. The food mediocre. Not worth the money. When the drinks arrived they served us a bottle of cold water which when I poured water in my glass had a strange thing inside like mold (not very obvious in photo it was a clear mass with black in the middle) I assumed it is from a fridge/freezer water dispenser or something similar, we’ve told the waiter and didn’t charge us our drinks for the inconvenience, but honestly it didn’t make much of a difference as it is quite dangerous and seems they don’t clean properly. I won’t be returning.

We’ve been to Fint before (Oct 2023), and last time, I had what was easily my favourite breakfast ever. So, we were really looking forward to going back, but honestly, it was such a disappointment. Every element of the breakfast was subpar. The sausage tasted like Quorn rather than the delicious, unique one I had last time, the egg was overcooked and dry, the mushrooms were absolutely inedible because they were so heavy on the aniseed, and the beans were somehow both watery and dry. The toast was low quality, and the potato pancake, which was previously light and crispy, was just greasy stodge. On top of that, the service wasn’t great, and it really feels like the whole place has gone downhill. It seems like they’ve swapped out all their high-quality ingredients for cheap alternatives but kept the same (very high) prices. It’s such a shame because we loved it before, but after this experience, we won’t be returning. The first two photos are today compared to the same meal around 1.5 years ago.

We got the nutella pancakes and sourdough french toast, they were very tasty! The café is quite creative with the menu and it works! Great atmosphere and service as well :)

We were disappointed by Fint. We booked a table for 10:30 on a Saturday and just got the vibe that nobody could be bothered. Some of the menu items were unavailable despite it being half empty and when we asked if something could be slightly amended we were told “no it’s pre prepared”. The food wasn’t spectacular and the eggs were overcooked in my opinion. We also noticed that there were some grotty patches such as dust on the bar and LOTS of dust in the loos.

Arts Cafe is a laid-back cafe and bar with a diverse menu influenced by European and North African cuisines. They offer an early bird menu from Sunday to Friday, featuring two or three courses at reasonable prices. The cafe also hosts rotating art exhibitions, creating a cozy bohemian ambiance that's perfect for art enthusiasts looking for great conversation starters. Customers have praised the value for money of the set menu and highlighted dishes like pan-fried chicken breast and warm tarts with clotted cream.
After trying to find somewhere to eat that was sure they served gluten free food we found this lovely little place . Really nice decor ,food was tasty and very well priced as was the gin and the staff were extremely courteous and friendly, would definitely recommend.

We chose Arts for a birthday celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We ate just before 7 so we had the option of the set menu or ordering from the a la carte menu. Three courses for £21 was excellent value for money. The highlight of our meal was the well cooked coley in a fabulous sauce and a warm tart with clotted cream. They also offer a BYOB on a Monday which is a nice touch. Head round to Latitude beforehand to pick up something special to make your evening truly memorable!

EatDrinkYorkshire.co.uk Review Arts on Call Lane in Leeds might have new owners and a new name (it had previously been known as the Arts Cafe) but if our recent trip was anything to go by then regular diners need not fear as the food it serves continues to be a thing of beauty. One of Leeds’ original independent cafe bars, since the venue opened in September 1994 it has earned a reputation for great tasting food made from the best and freshest local produce available, not to mention a fine selection of wines and beers. Despite its name, Arts’ atmosphere is far from pretentious. Subdued lighting conjures up an air of relaxation and contemplation, ably assisted by the variety of tasteful artwork by local up-and-coming artists that adorn the walls. The setting makes it a perfect lunchtime spot or, as we found out, a cosy venue for a quiet mid-week evening meal. With an extensive menu to select from, for our starters we opted for the Thai Fishcake (£6.50), which was wonderfully meaty with a pleasantly crisp coating, served alongside a healthy wedge of fresh lime, sweet chilli jam & dressed peppery rocket. For our other starter, we went off-piste to the Specials Board after being swayed by the Heirloom Tomato & Mozzarella Bruschetta (£6.50). The tomatoes were fresh and juicy, while the generous helpings of mozzarella were creamily decadent, contrasting nicely with the crispy bruschetta, making the deviation away from the standard menu well worthwhile. For our mains, the Lamb Shank (£16.95) sounded too good to miss and it definitely delivered with the meat literally just sliding off the bone. Served with mixed bean & smoked paprika ragù & mint yoghurt, the dish was a riot of Middle Eastern flavours. Superb. Rounding off a high quality evening of food, for our other main we went for the Pan Seared Chicken Breast (£14.95). Accompanied by a leg croquette, fried smoked bacon, peas, artichokes & mushroom ketchup, the quality of the individual elements again came together to form another dish of an extremely high standard. The name may have changed, the high level of quality of the food certainly hasn’t. A fantastic and versatile venue for every occasion.

Amazing place! It's simply the best food in Leeds. I brought my now wife here for our first date, and 10 years later the food is as magical as our first date! The range of types of dish and attention to detail is second to none. Please go if you never have.... It'll be the best decision you ever made.

Excellent evening meal for my wife's 50th. Great selection of vegetarian and gluten free dishes which was ideal for our party. As a meat eater I had a full vegetarian meal due to the interesting selection available. Excellent service, attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely be returning when in Leeds

Have had some friends visit Arts before and enjoy it so thought we would give it a go. Went for lunch on a Tuesday, easily able to find a table. Staff very friendly and quickly out to take our drinks and food orders. Food came out very quickly and was delicious. I had the beef brisket sandwich which was excellent! Coffee at the end also very good. Great atmosphere and would recommend.

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening, the menu was packed with choice and the food didn't disappoint. We had starters, mains and desert, all were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend this lovely little restaurant.
