Can I go against the grain here and say it’s kind of overpriced? The prices aren’t what the menu says and the vegan food is very stingy. Also, heads up, in spite of the credit card signs it’s cash only. Yes, the food is good. Yes. The lady is wonderful. But still, overpriced for you’re getting.

Delicious food, had al pastor tacos, white mole, and vegetable enchiladas. Really flavorful bites of food. As a Korean the white mole was a bit difficult for me to wrap my head around, since we make a dish similar to this but with totally different flavor. The horchata was fresh made (I don’t know how that is possible, but it was good), and limonata great as well. I came after watching Taco Chronicles on Netflix. The famed vegan squash flower tacos were not yet available as it is seasonal and they will appear roughly end of June through September. Can’t wait to come back and try those. Not the most modern dining area, very local feel which was appropriate of course, but I do wish a bit more attention was paid to interior, but like I said, great food and great service. Well worth checking out!

Excellent food—fantastic mole!—nearly everything is gluten free, and the agua frescas were delicious as well. Even simple items like the rice and beans were very nicely done. Great service. Not a fancy interior, but very clean and the food is sooooooooooo good.

This place is awesome. It’s a small hidden gem in the Bronx. It’s a family owned restaurant and it’s delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. They deserve their Michelin recommendation. They make their own mole sauce which is very hard to find. I love this small local restaurant. The food is delicious and I felt like I was in Mexico while eating here.

It was a beautiful Saturday, so I decided to trek up to the Bronx to finally try the much-hyped Lechonera La Piraña—and OMG, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long. Yes, be prepared to wait. I showed up at 12:30 and there was already a line. Service started around 1pm and it does move slow. But it’s definitely worth it. Once it’s your turn, the very friendly chef is just so much fun—chatty and giving you tastes as he prepares your meal. And it is a serious meal. He packed so much pork, crackling, octopus, shrimp, and rice into the box it about put me into a food coma. But it was good—the pork super tender, the crackling some of the crispiest I’ve had. All the seafood was fresh and delicious, and the rice super flavorful. Not the healthiest of meals, but such a great weekend outing for a flavor-packed lunch. I’ll be back!

Great atmosphere, got there and the smell in air was organically bueno! Waiting on the line was awesome with the small little live music (salsa) The portion were small and price was high...$25 for a lil bit of arroz con gandules, a few chunks of pork, 2x2 piece of pork skin yummy flavor tho, one entire bland green banana and a minuscule portion of octopus salad...the Mojito was the bestest part .. of which was much need to make the dry pieces edible....Love loved everything else.. vibe was on point 😄

I saw this on Instagram and had to visit since I originally came from this neighborhood. I gave it a 3 for food just because I never had the chance to taste anything other than the pork since it all ran out. Here's my disappointment. I arrived at 1:30 and was on line for 5 hours only to finally make it to the front, and he ran out of everything. He had 2 more pieces of pork cooking and said they'd be ready in 1 more hour, so I waited. That took 2 additional hours, so in total, I waited 7 hours to only receive pork. He charged me 20.00 which I thought was unfair due to the fact that it wasn't a full serving because he had to spread it with the others left on line and also no other food sides were available because he ran out of everything. I feel after waiting so many hours we should've been given the small portion of pork for 10.00, since, as I mentioned, it was a very small serving. On the positive note, Angel is super cool, funny, charismatic, and full of energy. I don't know how he does it all all day by himself. The pork skin was excellent and crispy, and the garlic sauce had my breath smelling like garlic for days. It was delicious. It was an experience to be around my people, but I will not go back. it's too long of a wait. I left by 8 pm with my little foam container of pork.

I stood on the line from 2:30-5:45 and this is what I got for 20.00 not worth the 20.00 no rice left no bananas left nothing left but pencil and it was not worth 20.00 I will never go again not worth it. Not to mention the potion was horrible .

Let’s just say when you’re here, you’re familia ! 10/10 experience . Owner is in this just for the love of the game tbh . We went after a Yankees game so they were just wrapping up. I can only imagine what the foods like when I get there first thing in the morning . Shoutout to the owner

Lechonera La Piraña is incredible! The lechon is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor — easily some of the best in the city. The portions are huge, the sides are delicious, and everything tastes homemade. The vibe is chill and full of good energy, and the people are super friendly. A friend had recommended this place and so we tried it. It’s definitely a no-frills kind of environment so you definitely don’t go for the service. They are very fast and efficient but it feels more of an effort to flip the table. We sat downstairs, but there’s also a large area upstairs that had seating and was a lot quieter. The dishes are HUGE and 2-3 people could split a main dish with the portion sizes. The chicken Parmesan hit the spot and I’d come back for that alone. We also tried the stuffed artichoke, but it wasn’t great.

My father took me here 50 years ago. They wrote the menu on a paper bag and hung it on the wall. They have a menu now for those who need it. Great southern Italian food at reasonable prices. They use san marzano tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil which are the highest quality ingredients. I highly recommend a visit.

visiting from seattle...we walked in after a yankees game and were immediately greeted and sat. all staff members were very nice and attentive; they treat you like family. food was delicious--we tried the eggplant rollatini, stuffed artichoke, and a chicken dish i can't remember...also my drink was perfectly mixed. i will be back!

We were here for my sons birthday on Sunday, party of 5. My family and I have been coming here for over 40 years, food is consistently GREAT!!!, service the same and Charlie, the owner, makes you feel like family. If you are looking for the best southern Italian food, you owe it to yourself to try Dominics. You won't be disappointed.

It must have been sold. It was absolutely horrendous from the eggplant and no zucchini starter with cold tomato sauce to the gelatinous mess they called sauce on a pork chop that was billed as double cut that was butterflied open with a spicy sauce of fried tough artichokes and over fried potatoes. The special pear ravioli had no pears five anemic discs of flat pasta with tasteless filling. Only the one glass of Pinot noir was good. I have no idea what has happened here but it was the worst meal ever in The Bronx!!!

Everyone was very friendly and we were seated right on time for our reservation. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu both food and wines. My son and I truly enjoyed the night! He got the strip steak special with shishito peppers, pictured below. His meal was outstanding. I got a chicken dish that was plenty good, but wasn't blown away by it.

Is a kind of expensive restaurant , but is all worthy . I ordered an octopus that was delicious. My boyfriend ordered pasta, he loves pasta. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed. We would definitely go back

My wife and I relocated to Charleston SC a few years ago so have not been on Arthur Ave in a while. Having grown up in DA BRONX we are familiar with what the Belmont section has to offer. Although the neighborhood has changed ( and not for the Better) Roberto’s stands out as clearly the best restaurant in the area. We started with a grilled tomato stuffed with buratta which we shared. We then ordered 2 pasta entree and a side of Rabe which was excellent and expertly divided table side. Finally a couple of cappuccino and we each had the Roberto cannoli. We have dined at almost all the restaurants In little Italy Bronx and Roberto remains on top

Just ordered takeout from Charlie’s, and I have to say, I’m very disappointed. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in ownership, but the food quality has dropped significantly. I ordered Charlie’s Chicken Burger and fried chicken—both used to be my favorites. Previously, the burger came with coleslaw, an egg, and deliciously seasoned chicken. This time, the chicken burger was burnt, tasted awful, and looked like cafeteria food. It was honestly the worst chicken burger I’ve ever had. The fried chicken was also severely burnt and had a terrible taste. To make things worse, the food was overpriced. The only reason I didn’t return it was that I didn’t see how bad it was until I got home. This experience was extremely disappointing.

Charlie’s Bar & Kitchen is a beautiful spot, stylish but comfortable, with a real sense of character. The staff was excellent: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I had a BLT, which was solid and hit the spot. The cocktails were well-made and clearly crafted with care. It’s the kind of place that feels like a local favorite and a destination at the same time. Definitely planning to come back.

The food was mediocre and overpriced. The place was very noisy and crowded. The waitresses could have used more help, they were very nice and professional. It was over 40+ yrs I been in this neighborhood which is now surrounded by many restaurants and condominiums not far from the third avenue bridge. The place was at one time called Piano Factory, which till this day it is still called. We waited over an hour to have our food served.

The hummus appetizer was a standout start to the meal — simple, fresh, and absolutely satisfying. The hummus is homemade and the flavors are perfectly balanced. And it comes with cucumbers, pickled onions, olives, feta, tabbouleh, and warm pita. I added grilled chicken as well. It's a huge portion, perfect for sharing or as your main entrée.

No A/C. A lot of mixed messages that were unclear. Came for a qtpoc event, and the menu was reduced to 5 items than what was online / here, even my Bruschetta was supposed to have sprinkled meat on it, and it wasn’t, and I asked for a non alcoholic drink, and he was trying to flood me with alcohol. They try to pressure you to get a food / drink combo for $40 rather than allowing us to buy individually. Drinks start at $12, over average. Gender neutral bathrooms, accessible entrance ramp, but lack of transparency.

I've heard so much about this restaurant. I dined here on a weekday after 8pm. It wasn't crowded. The ambiance was chill, other than the boisterous lady at the bar who appeared to be in intoxicated. Upon entering the waitress gave us the option of a bar seat or table. We selected a table, but it was too cold where the tables are (in the back of the restaurant). So we elected to sit at the bar. The decor very impressive!! Service was great. The bartender was very attentive. She also was great when ordering, she was able to give us a few good selections on the menu. The food wasn't as impressive as the decor. The food was OK. I would definitely dine here again to try other selections on the menu. Give them a try!

However, the service quickly became overwhelming. The waitstaff frequently approached us, almost rushing us, and came over right as we finished our last bites to ask if we wanted the check. It felt like they were anticipating a large table and wanted us to clear out. Considering that a large group beside us was moved to the bar and staff were rapidly rearranging tables around us, I’m unsure why we were seated just 30 minutes before their arrival when there were plenty of other available tables. Regarding the food, we both ordered the NUEVAyol drink, which was decent but not worth the $17 price tag. The chicken and waffles were enjoyable, although the chicken itself was unseasoned; only the breading had flavor, and unfortunately, some parts of it were burnt. The steak and eggs, however, were disappointing. I ordered the steak medium-rare, but it arrived well done, with crispy edges and essentially folded in half from overcooking. Additionally, I was disappointed to see an automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill for just two people. I understand this might be standard for larger parties, but it felt excessive in this case. I certainly wouldn’t have tipped $15 for the rushed service we received. On a positive note, the atmosphere was delightful. A live DJ played Hip Hop tracks, and the decor featured nice art along with a faux speaker wall, which contributed to a vibrant vibe!

First off walking into this place was dope and had great vibes. Ordered my food and while waiting I decided to order a drink which was extremely great. I patiently waited about 25 minutes before the food came out. Got my order walked out and drove home. As I got home opened my tray I noticed right away the undercooked pernil (roast pork) with Slimy rice I was in shock. No way I was going to drive another half hour in traffic to get something else. Pernil looked as it was boiled in water and not roasted. The rice was undercooked as well as the semi solid chopped carrots and beans. Definitely not what I expected from this gorgeous place.

The food and drinks are amazing, BUT for $50 to $100 it would be great to be able to have a conversation with friends without the music being so loud like a night club, it’s so unfortunate. The volume literally impacts your eardrums. The marketing strategy of having a “Sunday Party” being the excuse only makes it more disappointing since it’s intentional.

This is a great place for music! The DJ is awesome! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because, you cannot have a conversation or hear your waitstaff. The food is good. Personally I like my collard greens simmered and tender. These were undercooked. Catfish was good. Wings were crispy and delicious. Rib’s were good. Sangria was great! Overall it is an experience if it’s your first time. We had the preset menu for our group of 8. I’m sure this place would be great later in the evening! The DJ knows how to mix it up!!!!!

The restaurant has a spacious interior with brick walls and very high ceilings in one room, giving it a rustic, industrial charm. The design makes it feel like a converted factory, adding to its unique character. The portions were generous, and the flavors were rich. However, our dishes had more oil than we preferred—hopefully, it was olive oil rather than canola oil. Despite this, the dishes were still enjoyable. The service was friendly, though we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table.

A fun, casual and delicious lunch. The place was full for a Thursday afternoon and the waitstaff were fantastic! Attentive without being overbearing. The food was good. Not the best I have had, but tasty pasta and good and simple arugula salad. The broccoli rabe had all the great taste, but was more well-cooked than I prefer. Tiramisu was lovely. I'm a lifelong New Yorker, but it was my first time on Arthur Avenue, but definitely not my last. I would definitely come back to try out their pizza.

Super dreamy restaurant and great service from all the staff, food is fresh and although it was really warm we were comfortable. We got the chicken breast,broccoli rabe and broccoli rabe pasta, the meatballs and the steak! All of it was delicious and worth the price. The super fruit cosmo martini was delicious.

We had a really good experience at this place. We called to book a table and the staff was very friendly. Our food was delicious and the service was super efficient. The place is also quiet, they play music in the background but it’s not loud.

Took the family out for lunch here and we were really happy with the service and atmosphere inside the restaurant. We ordered the baked ziti and I was feeling brave and always wanted to try the pasta with squid ink sauce and so this place finally had it! I’m happy to say I tried it, but honestly I think I prefer the red. The calamari in the pasta was good though!

I went some people on trip for Ferragosto Italian festival. It was my time at Zero Otto Nove. The people I was with eat here every year. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was sort of a disappointment. I ordered the Cacio Pepe, a dish I've always wanted to try. Someone else at the table ordered it also. It was missing the black pepper that's supposed to be part of the dish, we had to ask for pepper to be put on the dish. Of the two wait staff we had only one had a smile on his face. For dessert I tried the Profiterole. Which had nice sweet taste, filled with a nice tasting custard. I don't know if I would return to this restaurant, if I did I would try it when there isn't a festival going on.

Yes it’s always in the “top 10 best pizza in NYC” lists — and it’s great. But it’s not worth a trip from more than a borough away. We had the margarita (which has great mozzarella and a very bright vibrant red sauce) and a very good sausage pie (the fennel sausage is great!).

I’ve had their famous sausage pie before and it was great. However, it totally failed to live up to the hype today. Ordered a sausage slice and it literally looked like sausage there’s thrown on the slice. No care in presentation whatsoever.

Was told by so many people that this was the spot to go visit. I finally went ahead and listened and pay them a visit, I went with the family and ordered 2 large pies one just cheese that was for my kids and one cheese and sausage that was my wife and I. I must say we got our first pizza which was the cheese pizza large (the kids pizza ) and I was so disappointed in how burned the underneath was I mean my kids started eating and immediately started making weird faces there mom and I asked what’s wrong they replied this thing is super burned at first we were like no way it’s fine just eat it but then we decided to try it and were absolutely stunned on how charred it was underneath I mean I had coal fire pizza before but this was definitely left unattended for a while then served it was super burned. We were very angry that the kids had to go through that but we’re also not the type of people to complain at the moment just to avoid any animosity nor any smart remarks on behalf of the staff. We then received our second pie and that was much better I even had to stop eating my portion which was half the pie that had cheese to offer it to my kids cause they were very hungry there mom had her side which was the sausage side and finished hers. All I’m saying is that if you’re going to visit this location tell then from the very beginning not to burn the pizza or leave it too long cause you will not enjoy it. This fits as a learning lesson through our process it sucks cause we were really looking forward to this but hey it’s ok maybe next time. I drove over 30 minutes to Louie & Ernie’s Pizza in the Bronx after reading tons of glowing reviews—and I truly wish I hadn’t wasted my time or money. I ordered an extra-large pizza with extra sauce, extra cheese, and half garlic, sausage, and pepperoni. The smell in my car on the ride home had me hopeful, but that’s where the excitement ended. For a whopping $46.00, I expected something special. That’s well above the average price for even a loaded XL pizza in the city, and honestly? I can’t imagine how bland and dry it would’ve been without the “extra” sauce and cheese I paid for—probably like eating a matzo cracker with toppings. And even with the extras, it was still dry, the cheese was sparse, and parts of the crust were burnt to a crisp. The sauce lacked any depth—no basil, no salt, just a plain, uninspired tomato base that brought nothing to the table. Totally underwhelming. Oh, and be aware—cash only, which just adds another layer of hassle in this day and age. Deluso decisamente. Save your money and your gas—this one’s all hype, no heart

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent order. As a regular customer who has always enjoyed bringing clients to your establishment, I was looking forward to another great experience. Unfortunately, this time I was left very disappointed. I expected better. This was my first time ordering delivery, and it was a disaster. After waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes, I received a cold pizza and a cold croquette. When I asked the delivery driver to take the cold order back, I was told to call the restaurant. Upon calling, I was informed that a new pizza would be made, but it would take another thirty minutes. The interaction over the phone further solidified my decision to no longer patronize this establishment. I will be sharing my negative experience with others and no longer believe the hype surrounding this restaurant. It is evident that many of the positive reviews are likely written by family and friends. Additionally, I would appreciate it if management could review the quality and condition of both the first pizza and the second pizza delivered. This might help in understanding the issues and improving the service for future customers.

Don’t mean to be a tough critic but just not at all impressed with the food here. I’ve tried a few times from pasta to pizza but nothing on the menu hits unfortunately. Despite this, still a very busy and active place. Food looks a little better than it tastes. Also very tight dining area. Both wine glasses I had were somewhat dirty. Very limited street parking.

Burger was burnt on one side and tasted like burned manure, and had American cheese instead of cheddar. Waiter argued with me and refused to fix the errors. Would not even look at the burger. Said it was not possible to cook a burger on the grill without blackening it, which was not even the problem. Insisted the slices of Kraft American cheese on my burger were cheddar and said some ridiculous garbage about cooking burgers for 30 years. Learn how to cook a burger and what cheddar cheese is. Also gets extremely loud and they will not turn down music, cannot hear other people at the table sometimes even when they are yelling.

I frequently eat here, so I decided to stop by the bar for a few drinks and a light dinner. The food was just as good as always, but the service was nearly nonexistent aside from Steven. After sitting at the bar, I had to request service from the female bartender because she never approached or acknowledged us. We stayed for about 2.5 hours (8:00 to 10:45 p.m.), and not once did she check if we needed anything. Meanwhile, Steven who was moving between the dining room and the bar was consistently attentive, professional, and clearly the only one prepared to serve. It honestly felt like nobody cared except him. The bartender spent most of the night on her phone and barely paid attention to the roughly 12 guests at the bar unless someone flagged her down. It was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had at a small restaurant, which is surprising given this place’s great reputation in the neighborhood. I would’ve liked to speak with a manager, but there didn’t seem to be one present. It almost felt like the bartender relied on Steven’s work ethic to carry the entire shif

Tonight I dined at Patricia’s for the 2nd time and I’m never disappointed. The owners/managers greeted me and my party immediately, got us a high chair for my 1 year old. The food was amazing and the portions are very good! The dessert was fantastic! Our server (forgot his name but he had cornrows) was very friendly and prompt. 10/10!!

Patricia’s of Morris Park is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever dined in. Everything was perfect from the wait staff to the food. We shared calamari as an appetizer. My main dish was the veal parmigiana with a side of pasta. Delicioso! The portions are huge. I brought home half of my entree as well as the pasta. We had cappuccino and complimentary biscotti, which was very generous. Our server Maria was wonderful in every way, and the atmosphere is authentically Italian. When in the Bronx, it’s a must to patronize.

What are we supposed to eat with? The place was pretty empty, yet there was a lack of service for my party of 10. I had to wait a very long time to ask for a drink refill. No one came by every now and then to check to see if anyone in a party of 10 needed a refill or anything else. The drinks were heavily water down and FULL of ice. I ordered a single ginger ale and it was 75% ice and 25% ginger ale. It was full of water 15min later as the ice melted quickly. The other drinks my family ordered was also an entire glass of ice with minimal alcohol beverage. The same for my kids Shirley Temple. They didn't even want anything to drink again it was so bad. The food was very bland. The pollo al mojo was unseasoned. All they did was cook the white meat and then add the sauce on top after. The same could be said for the Salmon. It was also unseasoned and the sauce poured on top after. The Palomilla was the same thing, steak cooked without seasoning and the sauces added to it after. My children did not like the Arroz con pollo due to the lack of chicken. 90% rice 10% very small pieces of chicken. And my teenage kids are good eaters and know flavor. I ordered a side of avocado to go with my meal and they literally brought me an entire plate full of a whole sliced up avocado. The appetizers were much better than the meals. The emepandas were really good as well as the chicharon de pollo. These best part about our meal were their Maduros. Everyone agreed was amazing. I would not recommend coming here again unless you only ate appetizers and maduros. The tables were all very sticky from overuse and years of improper cleaning. The best part about this place was the live DJ and his music. Avoid this place if you want authentic Cuban food or drinks. And no, im not sorry for my detailed post. They need to do better.

I’ve been coming to Havana Cafe for over 10 years, and while it’s definitely changed over time, the vibe still hits every time. On my recent visit, the drinks were absolutely on point!! On point like a porcupine! The DJ kept the energy high, and the atmosphere was lively and fun as always. That said, the food wasn’t at its best this time. The white rice was a bit hard, and there weren’t many steak options to choose from. Service could’ve been more attentive too. Still, the overall experience made up for the downsides. If you’re coming for the music, drinks, and a great night out, Havana Cafe still delivers. Just hoping they tighten up the food and service a bit!

This restaurant is nice place to go to for after work, hanging out with friends and family, or just if you want to get something to eat or sit at a bar to have a drink. The music they play is relaxing and sometimes loud but you can still talk and have a great time. I recommend this restaurant 100%.

I had a great experience here from the venue to the server to the guys on the front they were very nice helpful and attentive. The only thing me and cousin thought was for nearly 50 dollars for a plate of antojitos not once slice of limon lol that we agreed should have came on plate. Other then that loved this place ❤️❤️❤️

So I've only been here once prior years ago and after today I'll make sure it'll never take me anywhere as long to go back. I ordered my food over the phone near closing and the hospitality I received from them was second to none. Outside of their food being amazing, their customer service is just the same. From the woman who took my order over the phone to the other woman who made sure my drink was wrapped up well so it wouldn't spill speaks volumes. This will be one of my go to spots.

Ive had a craving for some authentic Al Pastor tacos when my husband told me a friend recommended this place and OMG. Ive been to Mexico many times and this place might just be better than any taco ive had there. Not only is the food AMAZING but the service is phenomenal as well. The owner made us feel so at home. Just came here with my sister for the first time! She is always bragging about how good the food is, so I’m glad I was able to try their chicken burrito & Strawberry Limeade! So good! One of the best authentic Mexican spots in the Bronx close to me. I had been told about this location numerous times and finally was able to stop in for lunch. I ordered (2) Tacos and a Burrito & trust me when I tell you that I had to take the Burrito home for Dinner. The portions served w/the Tacos were very filling and tasted very fresh. I can't wait to order more items from the menu and the staff were very attentive & nice.

I’ve been coming to this spot for over 20 years. I first discovered it back in college when it was a true hidden gem in the neighborhood. It was originally owned by a tough, no-nonsense family straight out of the Bronx—but they served incredible food. Over time, they got to know me and my friends, and we became regulars. They’d even treat us to a little something special after our meals—a pour of cognac that wasn’t on the menu (so keep that between us). In recent years, the restaurant has changed ownership, but I’m happy to say the new team has not only preserved the original vibe—they’ve elevated it. The space is cleaner, the equipment updated, and the food is still top-notch. My go-to order starts with the spring rolls and summer rolls, always fresh and packed with flavor. Then, my wife and I usually split a bánh mì as a warm-up to the main event: the pho. I almost always get the combination pho. It comes with all the trimmings: bean sprouts, mint, basil, and a generous hit of sriracha. It’s hearty, delicious, and instantly transports me to the streets of Ho Chi Minh City. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more filling, their entrées don’t disappoint. I recommend the grilled pork chops with vermicelli, pickled vegetables, and greens. Don’t forget to order one of their house-made lime sodas—refreshing, fizzy, and full of citrus zing—or a strong Vietnamese coffee to finish off the meal. If you’re in the Bronx and looking for an authentic and satisfying bite, this place is a must. I’m grateful it’s still going strong and hope to keep coming back for many more years.

A gem in the neighborhood! Huge portion for the price with friendly and attentive staffs. We got iced coffee, beef pho, spring roll, and lemongrass chicken over rice. While the iced coffee and beef pho was average, the crispy spring roll takes the cake - it was so good and love at first bite! Not sure what the sauce that came with it was, but it really complement each other. The lemongrass was second place with chicken soft and tender. Quite hard to find street parking but overall worth a visit especially in winter when you’re looking for a hearty meal.

My friends and I went to visit a Vietnamese cuisine, and we entered a comfortable and calm restaurant with a home-like atmosphere, which is good for customers who want to relax. The waiter directed us to our seats upon our arrival. After we settled down for 15 minutes, the friendly waiter took our orders. We got our drinks first, which was a delicious Viet Iced Coffee. My friends notified me that the wait time was considerably long, and he counted about 35 minutes, and they said that four people who ordered after us were already served. My friends are used to being served quickly, so I just listened to their opinion. I didn’t pay attention to my surroundings, and I was okay with the long wait, since I believed that the food was being prepared with great care. After 35 minutes, the Wings were served. They were delicious. I had to take pictures of the noodles and soups. The beef was especially tasty and the seasoning was perfect. The bowls the waiter gave us were huge. I was filled with all the food. I was thinking of getting a second beef order with dessert, but the savory Beef Pho Soup already made me full and happy. I had a good time catching up with our daily lives. Going to this Vietnamese restaurant really took me to a new ride in healthy Asian cuisine!

Eating here reminds me of feasting back home in Vietnam. The pho is fire, the cafe sua da is delicious and the banh mi is as good as it gets on the East Coast. As a Vietnamese person, I definitely love this restaurant.

Best Vietnamese food I've had in NY. The banh mi is perfectly balanced with all the flavors, the lemongrass chicken was so flavorful and tender, and the chicken wings are some of my favorite wings I've had. The limeade was a surprise favorite last time I was here too - I'll definitely order that on a hot day.

I had am amazing time at Seis Vecinos. Shelley was my waitress. She was amazing. The food was fantastic as well. I ordered the Seafood Paella. It was perfectly seasoned and came with a salad . They sung Happy Birthday to me and made me feel so special. I will definitely be back. I'm so lucky to have this gem of a restaurant so close in my neighborhood. You don't need to go to Manhattan for excellent service.

I have visited 6 Vecinos many times before. It's sad to say that their food quality is going down. I was there 3 weeks ago and the water that was served was dirty. 2 weeks ago my husband was served undercooked steak. All we got was "I'll take this to the kitchen so I can show them." We were not offered another piece. I really thought that we were gonna get at least a discount or not be charged for his dish but neither happened. I therefore left no tip. I won't be visiting again anytime soon.

Great food! You can get freshly made guacamole right at your table. A wide variety of Latin dishes. During my visit it was a bit loud which caused a problem with one of the orders at my table. The waitress was clearly upset about this, and no longer continued to provide service at our table. In fact she pawned us off to someone else, and provide us with dirty looks and a ride attitude. I'm not sure if I will be going back. Good food, but bad service.

We happened to be in the Arthur Ave area and stopped in here for some wine & appetizers because we saw it listed on the NYT 100 Best Restaurants list. It was warm & cozy inside and somewhat quiet (we were there early on a Sunday evening). They sat us immediately, so not sure if you need a reservation at other times… The servers were very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the food. Their bread is served warm and is very filling - so come hungry. Looking forward to returning soon for a full meal.

Went here after work with a few coworkers and ordered a little bit of everything and it did not disappoint. We sat near the front at a beautiful round wooden table. They had cool leather-bound menus and a rustic vibe. The mixed meat platter was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The grilled octopus? Absolute perfection. The mantia was the STAR of the night for me, along with the olives! so fragrant with orange peel and herbs that I could have eaten them by the bowl. We also tried the Albanian beer that was smooth, crisp, and refreshing. The service was very attentive and provided some great recommendations. Would definitely come back.

This place was absolutely incredible. We will definitely be coming back here. They also have two other locations (which we haven’t been to, but will definitely go to). First off, stepping into this restaurant was like stepping into an old world restaurant. There’s a really rustic, charming vibe that is absolutely transportive. We went for dinner in the middle of the week, so we were the old table while we were there, but the staff was so lovely and attentive. They definitely have a lot of pride for the restaurant and food and I get why. Now on to the food. Wow. The food was amazing and the price was so wildly reasonable. We started with the sausage dip, the pickled pepper, and the sesame baked cheese. The pickled pepper had the perfect bite to it and was a little spicy (think how a banana pepper is spicy) with great flavors for the veggies inside the pepper. The sausage dip was both familiar and interesting and so perfectly delicious. It came with these warm bread roll things that were steaming when we tore them open. The cheese was also nice, especially paired with the bread. We also had the Fli which is kind of like a baked layer pastry dish served with a feta cheese and was so good. Then we had the fasule with suxhuk. It’s essentially a white bean stew/soup with a type of sausage in it. This was so hearty and comforting. I could eat a bowl of it in front of the fire on a winter day. It was simple with a depth of flavor that was on point. We also had the grilled octopus, which was cooked well and very delicious. Overall, the meal was an absolute delight and we truly had a great time. Everything from the ambiance to the service to the food to the price point made this place an absolute must visit.

My friend and I decided to check out Çka Ka Qëllu on a Saturday after doing a NYBG trip. We made a reservation for 1:30, and I would recommend making a reservation if you are going at a popular time. The interior of the restaurant is unique, almost like you're in a stone cottage. The decor consists of Albanian artifacts, which is always a cool touch to the dining experience. Our server was extremely helpful guiding us through the menu, as neither of us had a ton of experience with the cuisine. We got the smaller order of the mantia ($11), which were veal dumplings. The dumplings were good, I just wanted a touch more flavor on the meat and a thicker consistency of the yogurt sauce. My friend got the tava kosi ($24), which is a lamb dish. This dish is flavored well, but it is on the saltier side! I got the gulash ($23), which I had a similar critique to the tava kosi. Once I ate the meat and potatoes, the rest of the gulash felt like I was eating flavored oil rather than a soup or stew, so I didn't wipe the bowl clean. The homemade bread helped to balance out the saltiness and sop up some of the liquid. Overall, I thought everything was very tasty, and I would return to try other dishes. Service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with the highest level of hospitality. Because we went on a hot day, we drank a lot of water. There was never a point where our glasses went empty! There were also multiple checkbacks. I would highly recommend checking out Çka Ka Qëllu if you're in the area at the garden or the zoo!

The food was spectacular! Loved the presentation as well as the delicious layers of flavors and textures. The staff very knowledgeable and patient. We were there late beyond closing. There was no hint of rushing us out. Very comfortable setting. Not expensive at all.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner, and this place was absolutely beautiful and we had an amazing experience! We’ve never tried Albanian cuisine, so once we tried it here - we were sooo impressed! The food was SO flavorful and juicy and perfect!! My boyfriend and I visited this cafe at 6 pm. It was quite crowded. I ordered green olives, they were with orange zest, it was incredible! We also ordered a main course, my boyfriend noticed that I am allergic to spicy food and for me they added less spices to the meat, it was great!! Beer, water, all Albanian production, it was a joy. For dessert, the waiter recommended a certain dish to me. When they brought my dessert, I refused to eat it because I saw a fingerprint on the plate (it was black), they replaced my dessert WITHOUT PROBLEMS. Thank you

To be honest with you, the food was below average. The ribs were dry but seasoned pretty good, and the brisket was not smoked at all. There was no smoke ring or a smoke flavor whatsoever. The chicken was ehh, very dry as well but decent seasoning. The baked beans had way too much going on and you really couldn't get the taste or real baked beans. The Mac n cheese had no cheese it was more like a little cheese sauce mixed in noodles, very bland. The cornbread was super mushy and the flavor was ok, i ended up throwing away half of my portion. I've been BBQing for a very long time and I was expecting much more from this place especially with its name "smokehouse" the $60 i spent there was definitely not worth it. Fyi there was a roach crawling on the floor aswell

I came here for brunch recently it’s $19.99 including a mimosa which I thought was a great deal at first but the burger and fries I had were terrible and burger overly cheesey no lettuce or tomato added or anything didn’t taste good...the fries tasted over heated and stale not good and the presentation was below average..not sure how an establishment can mess up a burger and fries.. it was really bad and not appetizing at all..they need to re evaluate their brunch menu and maybe they shouldn’t offer one if they can’t get it right..The atmosphere also didnt feel inviting

I order Egusi soup with spinach and meat and FuFu. they gave me just a bowl of spinach and the FuFu wasn’t even FuFu it was some brown ball and I don’t know what type of meat they using but it looks like a birds finger nail !

Have been here before several months ago, the experience was bad, come back trying something new thinking that it would be different, but it was far worse. $25 for a poorly prepared and presented meal, the okra sauce has wayy too much oil and no flavor, the goat me was chopped like it was ripped with bare hands and CASH ONLY payment, they have an atm that will charge you an additional fee. I couldn’t even finish my meal i paid then left

The popularity of this restaurant was obvious as I passed by. I have tried many of their dishes and have loved everything. The team shows excellent customer assistance. The restaurant selected an ideal spot. Genuinely pleased.

Best Ghanaian food in the area. This location is way better than the restaurant on white plains road. It is larger and the food is better. My favorite is the spinach soup. I don’t advise getting pounded yam to go w it because you received a very small serving. Food is reasonably priced.

They charged us $30 for each of 2 fish/kenkey/shito meals when the Doordash cost was posted as $18 for each. A small, pre-cooked, and overcooked piece of fish with slivers of raw onion and red pepper. The kenkey tasted old. $20 each for 2 quarts of light soup. $98 total for a very disappointing meal!

Decent Italian spot in the heart of The Bronx’s Little Italy. Our large group was well accommodated at a nice round table in the corner. I was not impressed with the food the same way I have been at other places in this neighborhood. The dishes were good but nothing great. Unfortunately the desserts really left something to be desired. I would choose a different place to experience the Italian food culture of this neighborhood.

Great causal restaurant with very friendly service. The plates are very large, which can be shared family style. Their very large stuffed artichoke was beyond delicious. I will come back to enjoy this artichoke!!! We came for inside dinner on Wednesday and a late lunch outside Thursday. Both days, the service and food were consistent and excellent.

Solid classic Italian staple on Arthur Avenue. We had a steamed clams dish that was excellent. My friend said the chicken francese was top notch... And I had a very fresh and delicious branzino.

Was visitng in the area and stopped by to eat. The last few times we visited City Island, the experience wasn't so great. The good restaurants are long gone and the ones left are commercialized. We decided to stop and grab a bite. It has been a super long time I've dined here. The food was great! Fresh and good portions! Service was great! Danielle was our waitress. She was super friendly and attentive! The white sangria was delicious! It is great to know that there is still a family owned establishment that values great service and even greater food. On our way out we stopped to chat quickly with Joe the owner! Kudos to you and your team! I highly recommend this restaurant! When back in the area, we'll definitely visit again!!

First time visiting and it did not disappoint! The food is excellent and the portions are huge! You will leave stuffed! The garlic bread is awesome! I had the jumbo shrimp Parmesan and it was delicious! When they say jumbo, they mean gigantic! My friend had the special with the lobster tail and it was also delicious! And to top it off, the service was great! Our sever was Oscar and he took care of us! This is definitely a place to try!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was outstanding — flavorful, well-prepared, and served in shareable portions that made dining together even more enjoyable. Our server, Anthony, was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. He ensured our table was well taken care of throughout the evening, and our drinks were consistently perfect. Jojo, the owner, was friendly and approachable, which added a personal touch to our visit. Overall, the atmosphere was vibrant and comfortable, making us feel genuinely appreciated as guests. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to City Island Lobster House.

I visited City Island Lobster House after hearing amazing things about it, and I was really looking forward to it. My date had been there before and enjoyed it, so my expectations were pretty high. The food was tasty and the service was okay, but honestly, I left feeling a bit disappointed. I wanted to sit by the edge to enjoy the ocean view, but we were told those tables were only for large groups, so my partner and I (just the two of us) weren’t allowed to sit there. What really confused me was that a group of three came in shortly after. They could have easily sat at one of the smaller tables, but the staff brought out a table and let them sit right by the edge — exactly where we had asked to sit. So while the food was good, the experience didn’t meet my expectations, especially after all the great things I had heard. I just expected a little more.

Mushy rice. Extra small fish (red snapper). burnt plantains. I complained about the meal unsatisfactoriness. They still charged me $28 for the meal. I took the fish and fed it to the birds in the park. Jerk wings are advertised as huge. But look at those baby wings. No spiceness at all.

Ripe Kitchen & Bar is described as a “glorified hole in the wall” by its owner. It surely is, and it’s a whole vibe! Ripe is the vision of chef Nigel Spence, a Jamaican native who complete his degree at the Culinary Institute of America, following with time working at the Food Network, most notably Bobby Flay. In fact, his Jerk ribeye steak beat Bobby on his own show. On my first visit, I had to try the steak, which according to the menu has sold close to 150,000 plates. The steak is 16 oz. It’s a mix of lean and fat, and the menu is VERY clear about that. I would say the steak is probably about half and half, or maybe 60/40. I stuck to the lean, but that’s a me thing, not a them thing. The flavor is something I can’t describe, maybe because I’ve never had jerk flavor on a charcoal grilled steak before. I thought it was delicious—grilled and seared on the outside, medium to medium rare inside. I requested medium, and it might have been a little on the rarer side of that, but it really was just perfect. It came with tasty rice and beans as well as a refreshing green salad. I also got a side order of spicy fries, which were hot and seasoned, in a huge portion. I had the rum punch, which is quite strong. I was surprised, but their mojito is one of the best I’ve had. All of their drinks are simple—nothing fancy—tropical—things that make you feel like you’re on island time. The decor also makes you feel like you’re on island time—bright reds, plants, photos of Jamaica. Spence has said in his own words that this will never be a white tablecloth establishment; he wants it unpretentious and wants his crowds tipsy and inclined to sing and dance at any moment. This is more than a restaurant, it’s a community! Prices are super crazy reasonable. The steak meal was 32 dollars. Drinks 13-15. Service laid back, but welcoming. You could tell they didn’t care who you were or where you came from, they were just glad you were there! The owner/chef himself bussed my table and was there helping his staff, and that means a lot to me. The menu also has oxtail (only certain days), Rasta pasta, jerk chicken, a jerk chicken quesadilla, various iterations of plantains, shrimp, curry. I think next time I’ll either try to quesadilla or the pasta (which can be served with shrimp, chicken, or vegetarian). The parking is street parking. The outside is pretty unassuming and you can pass right by if you’re not paying attention. On warm evenings they open their patio and have live music, otherwise they play reggae overhead. I went around six on a Saturday and was seated immediately, though there were already several tables occupied (it’s a fairly small place). I spent a couple hours there and by the time I left, several more people had come to the party. It was all locals here. And everyone besides me was Black. That tells me I was in the right place. Can’t wait to go back.

The spin on the Rasta pasta was delicious. Mushrooms, spinach… I loved it.

This is my go to Jamaica sit down Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx area. I celebrated my nephew's birthday. Delicious food. Excellent staff. I will be at Ripe Kitchen on my next trip to New York.

The customer service was amazing. Food was wonderful and the atmosphere was beautiful. I would definitely go back love this place.

After getting our taxes out of the way our family decided to go out for a nice dinner. Fratelli did not disappoint. From the second we arrived the staff was pleasant and attentive. We ordered a few appetizers that included a seafood platter that was a gift to the senses, but the real star of the show was the Vinegar Pork chops. The meat was tender, the peppers cooked to perfection. I will definitely return for a second helping.

The penne vodka with chicken was delicious! Also the fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken was even better! The staff was very friendly! They got great music and sabroso wine!

Old school Italian restaurant decor which brings much nostalgia. The service was very good - warm, welcoming, fast and accommodating. I went on a weekday for lunch and the lunch special was a solid value. The entrees and salad were fresh and tasty. The bread and oil service was also a treat. I would pass on the soup. Parking is available on side streets and getting a table was no problem. Most customers seemed to be regulars and that's a good sign. I will likely return. I was a pleasurable dining experience. The place is clean and that goes a long way for me!

The food and the service were fine. However, I simply could not believe what happened. We ate there on a Sunday night when it was not too busy. About 10 feet from our table was a small bar in the back of the restaurant with about four chairs. No one was sitting there except for who I think may be the owner. He was sitting in the last chair watching something on his phone. I noticed him because HE WAS CLIPPING HIS NAILS ONTO THE BAR. I simply could not believe what I was seeing, and the extremely loud clipping that I was listening to for over 10 minutes. When he saw me looking at him, he put his hands below the bar and continued clipping. I regret not saying something but it was just so startling. I paid and left. For that reason alone, I will never go back nor will I recommend anyone go there.

We had an amazing catering experience with Chef Eddie and Fratelli's !! They catered a large (150 people) 50th birthday party and all of the food was amazing. The homemade chicken fingers were a huge hit with all the kids (and adults !!), ziti and penne a la vodka were great, and the chicken Marsala really stole the show !! The older DJ, who goes to parties all the time, even said it was the best catered food he has ever had !! Food was super hot from start to end ....we are looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon !! Thank you again Chef Eddie and Fratelli's !!

One of the Best Italian restaurants in the Bronx! This restaurant is a local neighborhood spot that boasts great Italian cuisine. As with all great Italian restaurants, they start to serve you with salads, bread and antipasto. Then they have an extensive menu from pastas, pizzas, steaks and seafood. We ordered the crab cakes for appetizer and it was heavenly! It was paired with a creamy cognac sauce that balances out the dish well. Then I opted to order one of the unique pizzas I have ever tasted, it is called “Bee Sting” pizza. Its a pizza topped with honey and hot sopressata. That combination is righteousness in every possible way. You should try it out when it’s available! We ended our lunch with Spaghetti Carbonara which was delicious and the filet of sole cooked oreganata style. Each menu item we ordered was superb. Definitely a gem in the Bronx and a must visit.

Love this place! Food is amazing each and every time. What do I reccomend? Everything. I've tried their pizza, chicken marsala, chicken parm special (pinwheel mozzarella and prosciutto), butternut squash ravioli special, prime rib, pork chop with vinegar peppers, and the appetizer stuffed long hot Italian peppers. Each dish is delightful in its own way, I can't pick a favorite.

My friend from work has been coming here for a while & has been trying to get me to join her for a few years. I always told her no because I'm not s sushi eater. Well, I'm glad that I decided to go yesterday during my break between work. There were 6 of us and when we arrived the table was ready and waiting for us. The place is quant. Staff is very pleasant, accommodating and friendly. While inside you don't feel like you're in a business in the south Bronx. My colleagues ordered several different types of sushi rolls. You can get a lunch special with a choice of a starter (several choices of soup or salad) & either a roll or fried rice or noodles. We ordered rock shrimp tempura for the table at $5 we also ordered edamame & tuna bruschetta. I ordered chicken fried rice with a cabbage salad as my starter. The salad was a pretty good amount I was able to share with two who wanted to taste. It was crunchy, tasty and satisfying. I tried the edamame and that was good as well. Salty on the outside, tender on the inside. The rock shrimp appetizer was sooo good. It was spicy, but with noisy the right amount of spice. My fried rice was a good portion. The vegetables were still crunchy and it had a really fresh flavor. We ordered dessert. The hazelnut gelato & the mini chocolate ganache over cheesecake. Both were very good. The cheesecake dessert was very rich and the ganache is very thick. The hazelnut gelato was light and fluffy and really good. It comes served with dark chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Overall I really enjoyed myself. My friend was really happy that I liked the place. I even plan on ordering lunch for delivery in the near future. Good quality food with great service, decent prices in a clean environment!

Located right outside manhattan and in the South of Bronx. A fast developing neighborhood and beautiful art murals everywhere. Reminds me of Williamsburg to be honest. Ceetay is also on a block where they constantly shut down their street to host circus events, dances, and other entertainments. It is such a hot location. Those who live in the area do not need to travel over an hour to dt manhattan just for sushi. Ceetays newly renovated restaurant offers fast fresh and delicious sushi! Kani salad was so refreshing and is definitely a must get! Along with the agedashi tofu. That was my favorite appetizer. Super crispy and the sauce was so good. Rock shrimp is no doubt a must! If you never had it before, you have to get it, the tiny little crispy things are soo fun and delicious. The kawasaki roll was also super delicious. The crab meat with crispy avocado was so good, I never had a roll like that anywhere else. The bronx boogie roll was also my favorite, especially if you like a little heat with your rolls. If you aren't a fan of raw fish or seaweed, the grilled salmon soy wrap is your go to roll. It is wrapped in a soy wrap instead of seaweed! How innovative is that?!! We absolutely loved Ceetay and cannot wait to go back. So glad to see the Bronx developing and bringing in new cuisines and culture.

We didn't really know what to expect from this small restaurant we always drive by en route to the city. But Ceetay surprised us with its coziness and delicious food. There were three couples quietly dining with many other people picking up takeout orders. The menu offers a range of sushi as well as other Japanese and Thai dishes, along with beer, wine and a robust selection of sake. Whether you're in the mood for a large sushi order to share or a sampling of appetizers, you will enjoy Ceetay's flavors.

The staff was pleasant, fun and attentive; they all worked as a team from the cashier to the chef. My food came out fast. I like how they allowed me to be seated outside to enjoy beautiful weather. Has a cozy, natural feel and is clean. A great stop to make when in the Bronx.

This is an absolute gem in the South Bronx. As a native NYer I’m usually not a fan of gentrification but I’m glad this spot is in the neighborhood lol. The sushi is amazingly fresh, the portions are large & they are generous with sauces. You will be swimming in spicy mayo and gluten free soy sauce. I found this place on a whim because I wanted an avocado salad and I left with Sushi, shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, a HUGE avocado salad with salmon bites and all the fixings. I dug in before I could take pics lmao. The portions were so big I had to put the chopsticks down and pack the rest away. I am happy as a clam. 🥰

This place is not extremely good or horrible, it is bare minimum. Nice staff with clean and fresh quality food made on the spot which is nice. The downside is there's no indoor seating and takes a long time to prepare and kind of pricy. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area, but by no means go out of your way. Perfect for lunch, break or grabbing a quick bite alone because lack of comfortable seating.

When I ordered chicken soup it wasn’t cooked properly the chicken was still pink. I also ordered 3 chicken tacos and I asked for sour cream and all of a sudden the old man wants to have an attitude saying I didn’t ask for sour cream. I was with my group of friends and they all heard me say sour cream. The tacos were cooked with cheese and so tasteless and dry. The tacos didn’t even come with cilantro and onions. He charged me 35$ but the total should have been 25$. Please just go to other Mexican food places it’s really not that good here

Be forewarned that the place is super small, but I think it’s worth it if you want good drinks. The server is actually the one preparing the drinks and he does a great job managing both the customers and the bar. The food can be a little better in terms of flavor, but overall it’s a good date spot.

I can't believe I had not been here before. Like why?!!! Their Birria tacos are the best I've had in the Bronx, hands down. The guacamole was fresh, which is a must for a good Mexican restaurant. Our server was awesome, putting us on to some really good Resposado Tequila. Almost all the tables were taken, and I know why. I can't wait to go back and try their flautas, and sopes

Disgusting. No flavor no seasoning very nasty and cold it didn’t taste like nachos and didn’t look like it it was dog food.

Decent tacos. Very friendly staff. The meat tacos we're a little dry, though the dip provided with the chips made for some delicious eating. The serving sizes are generous.

I went here yesterday and ordered the chips and guacamole, 3 birria tacos, and a horchata. The guacamole was perfectly seasoned and would say it’s a good size for a party of 2-4 people to share. The horchata was sweet & refreshing during yesterday’s heat. The birria tacos were $16 and their consommé was delicious. This place was very good & would recommend.

This is the best Indian food I have had in New York City! The Restaurant has a large menu to choose from. I have had dishes such as the very popular Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Achaari, Garlic Naan, Spinach and Cheese Naan. The portion of my dish was a good size because I was full after eating. The food was super delicious and my friends agreed. I am looking forward to going back.

I go here for the Kashmiri Pulao. It's a coconut rice with spices and fruit and it is delicious. I always order ahead and they are always friendly and nice. Update**** I stopped by to grab a couple orders of Kashmiri Pulai. Got home and got all the way to the bottom when I noticed a huge cockroach in the rice. I wanted to puke, I was so disgusted. Yall should be ashamed!!

CASH ONLY. Came here early on a Sunday just for beef patties. I had chicken, beef, and veggie. The veggie one was actually the spiciest. It was stuffed cabbage and carrots. Fresh. Not. Really good. 3.50/patty. Coco bread was so soft and delicious. Will def be coming back.

My first time trying coco bread with beef patty. Very interesting though to me to have the beef patty inside the coco bread. But it works good together. Their beef patty got good spice in it. Definitely good beef patty to get. They do closed at 4 and line can be long out to the door.

Ok this was a really good patty but definitely wasn’t the best in my opinion. With that being said if I’m in the area I’ll definitely be back to grab a quick cheap bite. pro tip get one coco bread for every 2 patties it’s the best combo. I feel a whole bread too much but half a bread with one was amazing. Loved it. Kingston Tropical Bakery is the real deal. If you’re from around here, you already know — their patties are unmatched. That crust is flaky, buttery, perfect every time. Seasoned just right, a little spicy but not crazy. You grab one fresh out the oven and it hits different. Coco bread is a must — soft, pillowy, straight up comfort food. Throw a patty inside and boom, you got yourself a whole meal. They move quick too, so even if there’s a line, you’re not waiting long. It’s one of those Bronx staples — no frills, no gimmicks, just good food that always delivers. If you’re in the area and never had a Kingston patty, you’re seriously missing out.

Kingston Tropical Bakery is one of my go to spots for patties especially when paired with their cocoa bread. The bread is soft, fluffy, and buttery, and goes perfectly with the warm, flavorful patties. I also tried the carrot cake loaf, which was very good moist, well spiced, and just the right amount of sweetness. The line can look long sometimes, but it moves very quickly. Definitely worth the stop!

I went for the beef patty, coco bread, and a meatloaf. The beef patty and coco bread was so soft, not at all like the pizza store. The patty had a little spice but not spicy at all. The meatloaf was just as good, so glad a place I saw on TikTok/ Instagram was actually good. Definitely will go back when I’m in the area.

Avoid this mediocre place at all costs, the food was utterly atrocious, the quality was terrible and beyod tasteless. I ordered the Penne Alla Vodka and I requested for them not to add prosciutto(ham) since I’m a Pescatarian. The Chicken Alfredo also tasted poorly it had absolutely no flavor. I called the restaurant to make sure my order did not have meat and to request garlic bread since it was not an option on the menu. The gentlemen stated that he could send it but to add the Pasta E Fagioli as a replacement ($12) for the garlic bread, he would also make sure no meat was added to my food. I called after I received my poorly executed order with horrible presentation and spoke with John, he immediately got an attitude and instead of addressing the issue he said "were too busy" then proceeded to raise his voice and hung up(your attitude is disgusting and unacceptable John). I will never order from this place again and I’ll make sure all of my friends and family do the same. Almost $100 for overpriced nauseating food. I will continue to order from Original Joe’s Pizzeria down the block, unfortunately they don’t deliver to my area( excellent food and extraordinary service). I opted for the worst Italian food ever at Pasta-Pasta, save your money.

Came here for a quick lunch with my kids. The food was good and the service was great very welcoming. Our server Paco was very nice and attentive. We will be returning with the rest of the family.

The rigatoni alla segretan is so good. I grew up eating there and I've since moved but I can't go visit and wanted my favorite dish. They haven't changed at all. Tasted the same as i remembered! Yummerz

We love having some more healthy options in the South Bronx area. This cafe is adorable, charming and serves up tasty breakfast, brunch and lunch options. The avocado toast is a staple favorite. We love the fresh smoked salmon that pairs well with the hot sauce kick. Always a delicious breakfast bite.

Found this location while randomly riding around the neighborhood. I was lucky. This is a little hidden treasure full of amazing surprises. The atmosphere is very laid back, the staff is attentive, polite, and willing to help make your experience with them a joy. The food came out quick and was worth every bite. I recommend a 10/10. The food is… edible. But they don’t offer regular bacon… not sure if that’s a religious restriction or something. The rooftop is wonderful. However the service is very strange. First two times that we visited, it was fine. The third visit.. We ordered two meals and two coffees and one of the coffees never showed up even after repeatedly inquiring about it. As in asked specifically 3 times over the course of an hour, and was told that they would check. Then they would come back and bring other people their food but not my coffee. We finished the meal and left, received a refund for the coffee because at that point it was just strange and I didn’t want it. I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon but would try it again if the staff is different in the future….

I went to Mottley Kitchen this morning with my girl. There wasn’t a long line when we arrived, but it did get busy as we waited for our food and coffee. I ordered the Chicken Avocado Sandwich, a side of potato wedges, and a flat white. My girl got the French toast and a hazelnut iced latte. First of all, presentation was amazing — everything looked upscale and thoughtfully plated. The quality of the food was top-tier. You can see the freshness in the strawberries and blueberries. I’ve been working in produce for 9 years, and I know how hard it is to find good berry quality this time of year, so I could tell they took their time choosing the right ones. I expected the potato wedges to be your usual frozen kind, but they were clearly made fresh — garnished with arugula and sautéed onions. The only thing I initially thought was missing was salt… but honestly, that turned out to be the best decision on their part. I could season it to my liking instead of it being overly salty. Smart move. Now, the Chicken Avocado Sandwich? I won’t spoil it for you — that’s something you need to try yourself. Just know I’ll definitely be a regular here. The coffee was amazing too, and the whole experience was warm, friendly, and worth every penny. Thank you, Mottley Kitchen, for your service and attention to detail!

Visiting NY and as a first time customer I was throughly pleased from the moment I walked in to Motley Kitchen which had a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Good selection of all the standard coffee offerings and pastries. Prompt & very friendly (not over the top🙏) counter service and food delivery to my table. Order a Mocha and Corn Blueberry muffin… both delicious.

My niece wanted a specialized ice coffee from this location. She claims that it's delicious. I'm am simply and wanted just black coffee. The service staff need customer service training. You are told that you need to get your own sugar. napkins need to be requested.

The coffee was phenomenal. One sip woke me right up. The pretzel croissant was nice. Ciabatta was fresh, tasted home made I’d go again if I ever found myself in the area.

I could live here, the food is amazing and the coffee is on point despite being a small location. Staff were smiling, pleasant and handle my food with care- tip well earned. The bathroom is surprisingly very clean.

Visited twice and the experience was the same. The matcha coffee is ok. They never have the turmeric flavor was removed from their availability, but not from their menu. The croissants do not taste fresh. The service can be highly improved. Over all, the place is cute.

Mon Amour was definitely a HIT!!! Specially when you’re starving and wishing for a cup of EXCELLENT, delicious, fresh coffee. We were lucky enough to arrive just in time to take the last empty table. We came right after Sunday Service at my church and apparently a lot of people came here for the same reason as us… the place was packed, the ambiance was GREAT, you could hear everyone talking and still enjoying the music… the vibe here felt soooo great!! Their service was TOP NOTCH, even with just 1 waitress for the whole place and while it was PACKED, she made sure she covered every table and made several rounds to see how everyone was doing. I can’t wait to be back… Their food was definitely of the bestest best best I have had… everything was freshly made and they “cook” right in front of you, which made it even better, you can actually see why this place was so packed! They are very careful with the food and loved being able to see that! Everything about this place was ABOVE AND BEYOND EXCELLENCE!! Coffee, food, service, every category deserves 5+ Stars. Can’t can’t can’t wait to be back!!

The ambiance at Mon Amour is undoubtedly charming, with its clean and tastefully decorated interior. However, my experience was marred by several disappointments. As a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, I found both the cappuccino and latte to be lacking in distinct flavor profiles, leaving me underwhelmed. While the food didn't reach the level of being terrible, it also failed to impress. It's worth noting that all their offerings are prepared using a toaster oven due to the absence of a full kitchen, which may limit the culinary creativity of the menu. But what truly tarnished my visit was the treatment I received from the owner. Despite being a regular customer who always makes a point to order, I was singled out and asked to leave because I wasn't planning to purchase more items and needed to give my seat to other customers. This directive felt unjust, especially when I observed others lingering without making any purchases. Feeling humiliated and confused by this interaction, I made my way to the register to settle my bill. However, the owner's lack of acknowledgment or apology further soured my impression of the establishment. The busy wave slowed down, and there were more seats available, but at that point, the damage was done. It's disheartening to say that despite my initial fondness for Mon Amour as a small business in my community, I won't be returning after this unfortunate experience.

Mon Amour in the mornings feel like best way to start the day. Calm music, friendly staff, good coffee with like minded people looking for a peaceful environment. Got to try their cappuccinos. I’m a frequent go-er. Best coffee shop in 238th.

Food and service here is horrible. They’re not clean , have bacon sitting out , flies landing on it .. they touch money and food. Overall if you’re looking for dirty food and bad customer service this is the place for you…

This bakery has such good lemonade and everything here is SO WORTH IT!! The donuts are super yummy and they weren’t expensive at all!!

The breakfast is amazing The cakes are delicious, 4 stars because they put the wrong cream in my child's cake and we didn't know until we cut the cake at her party, but other than that this is an amazing bakery and breakfast spot, the food is delicious! My daughter does not like Strawberry lol UPDATE! being that this is THE ONLY bakery in my area I bought another birthday cake on emergency, instead of chocolate mousse because they always put strawberry jelly with strawberry pieces in chocolate mousse cake (idky) I instead bought a reg cake with vanilla cream, and I wish I did not ever spend a dime on that cake, when I say BONE DRY I MEAN BONE DRYYYYYYY, it's sad because the icing was pretty good, the cake was fresh but the cake itself was dryer than the Sahara desert, I wish they would just do better with these cakes, there's no competition in the area so they just don't put any effort into these cakes and it's so sad, I was better off buying a carvel ice cream cake at the market for the same price, well lesson learned and I will not be supporting this bakery on any type of cake.

DISGUSTING!! moldy bread Me and my family have been eating here for a long time. One time i found a human FINGERNAIL in my oatmeal i went back and they gave me my money back. I let that slide BUT this time no way! After eating my entire bread i get to the end and find it was MOLDY! I went back and the lady behind the counter tried to tell me it was from a dirty bread machine like that makes it any better. She threw it out right away thank god i took pictures. My family is sick right now throwing up! I am calling the health department please stay away from this place they are also very rude on top of everything else!

I love this place. Their breakfast sandwiches hit the spot ever time. The downside is that this place gets packed in the mornings/lunch time. But what can you expect, they're awesome. You can find yourself waiting for 20+ mins at rush hour times in the morning. Update: 6 years later (2025) I can confirm they're still the best. This time around they made my daughter's 4th Birthday Barbie Cake. They did not disappoint! Everyone loved the tres leches flavor and asked for their location. Thank you Pitusa!

Local bakery with amazing fresh baked bread. The pastries are very well priced and look great. The only reason this place stands out is because there are no other bakeries near will quantity. Still a decent place with decent prices.

Love this place, been here four times now, solid food every time. I typically get a small jerk chicken with cabbage, rice and beans and bread pudding for under $8. Very happy.

I give it a 4.5. And only because I only had 1 dish. But boyyyyyyyy was that one dish. delicious. Ox tail, rice and peas, with Mac n cheese. Ox tail was perfect. The spices they use and sauces. Just the right amount. I only wish I had more Ox meat. 🤤 Rice and peas. Good. No complaint there. Mac and cheese was perfect. Cheese crispy at the top. Cheese oozing at the bottom.

The food was OK but the guy that serves the food is very rude. That’s all I have to say.

I just would like to say I love this restaurant so much everything is always so flavorful and worth the money. To anyone who reads any negative reviews about the owner PLEASE do not listen to that. I've been to 2 La Masa locations, and there was a Huge differences in seasoning. This location had too much of a Dominican flavor to their dishes. The fact that the service staff were unfamiliar with Colombian food and the names of the dishes seemed key. The food was good, but not what was expected, especially when one is going to feed a craving.

One of the most authentic Colombia food I had in a long time. It took a while but got a free dessert for waiting. The food was definitely worth the wait. Everything was delicious and it was my wife first time. She enjoyed it

I stopped ordering from you for a while because the food quality was just half of good. So today I wanted something sweet, hard to find anything vegan with quality in The Bronx but what in the world is this?? Empty apple empanadas. Like come on be for real!!!!! You really need to rebrand and do some quality check on who's doing your food it's a never again for me... thanks but no thanks. I don't like complaining but you should be embarrassed. I've tried with you over and over but from horrible tasting soup, the veggie empanadas tasting bad and so many of your items there is no love in this food whatsover and uber eats won't give me my money back 😑

I wanted to try a new place. I'm glad I did. Elizabeth with the red hair, so personable and friendly. I had empanadas and fries. Delicious. The prices are reasonable. We sat outside with a covering. Nice and cozy place to get a quick bite.

One of my favorite restaurants in all of the Bronx! I have been coming here with family for about a decade now. The staff is always kind and attentive. The food is always delicious, hot, and beautifully presented. The space has expanded a few times so that now it is larger than when they first began. It also now has an outdoor seating space with cover! They have an entire vegan menu which has been known as Boogie With A Vegan. The options are vast and it truly exemplifies the best that Colombian food has to offer. If you partake in alcoholic beverages, I absolutely recommend trying to Creamy Passion drink made with Colombian Aquardiente!

I saw this place being advertised on TV and thought I'd give it a try, its on the corner of the street and it's sign is brightly lit so you can't miss it. Its a small restaurant, with a generic look and feel and a open kitchen where you literally can see into...nothing special about the way it looks inside. However it is organized, clean, and wasn't busy at the time I arrived which was dinner time. Service was good they where pretty tentive to me and the person I was with and understood all our wants and needs. Food came out at a decent time and it was good. We ordered fruit juices along with our food and they where watered down so we had to get them exchanged several times before we decided to go with a different beverage. Restroom is unisex and very small yet clean, no customer parking here, prices are fair... overall I had a good time here and would try it again sometime hoping my experience next time would be even better. We ordered latte, taste was so bad by itself. Can’t even describe. Floor is dirty, on chandler Is dusty. There was not a lot people inside and the food was so mush earlier than drinks. Food was with chocolate, so be careful when you ordering. For example in sandwich they put chocolate inside with chicken. Ketchup was with chocolate. 18% tip was already included. For this type of place it was so pricey.

Visited the Chocobar out of pure curiosity. A lovely hip little spot, with an inviting and friendly atmosphere, complete with an amazing staff line up. The drinks were incredible; perfectly crafted with hints of their signature chocolate name sake. The foods were delicious and expertly presented. The only flaw I found was with the Avocado Toast. Boasting cured bacon with eggs on a slice of brioche bread, it was overly salty. So much so that I it was uneatable. However, that was the only minor blip on a perfect dinning experience. Also can’t forget the live Latin music, played at a level that is pleasing to the ears and pulled the overall experience together. To ensure you secure your dinning experience, make sure you reserve your table ahead of time. While they do take walk ins, it’s a small space that fills up quickly.

My family and I visited Chocobar Cortes today! It was our first time there. Originally, we were looking for a smoothie or shake place. Then, we ended up ordering food here. While the food was good, the customer service could’ve been better. Only two out of the four employees were pleasant. My family and I will be back. Hopefully, the politeness increases by then.

Here are my 2 cents about my visit to chocobar cortes. My girlfriends and I made reservations for Sunday brunch. The place is cute and the service was great. The staff worked together to make sure food came out together, quick and hot. However, I must say, the chocomartini was weak, not much liquor, it tasted like a frozen frappé. I think some of the food items are overpriced. We ordered the picadera, and for $27, we got 2 empanadas, 2 tostones with carne asada, 1 small suruyo, and 1 small alcapurria. We also ordered chicken and waffles $25, but we didn't get chicken, we got "nuggets" for that price I was expecting at least one real piece of chicken or one chicken tender, not McDonald's nuggets (not tasty at all). Overall, the atmosphere is nice, the service is great, and the food was good, but please consider serving real fried chicken with your waffles.

Awesome place! The arroz con gandules and empanadas de camarones tasted like my mom's food. Yummy!! We had tacos de mofongo with shrimp, pancakes, French toasts (breakfast all day!), hot chocolate (delicious!), and chocolate latte, and we ended up ordering food to go. To top it off, Javy (the waiter), was awesome. We highly recommend it.

if you love chocolate, this is a great place to go! i had the chocolada and it was soooo yummy! if i were to go back, i wouldn’t order the french toast again. also, the chicken tender size did not meet my expectation for the price but as for the environment it’s a nice brunch spot, the music/vibes are amazing and the staff that work there are so kind and helpful!

Great atmosphere and great vibe. From the moment you walk in the restaurant, to the moment you enter the restroom, the decor was absolutely fun and funky. We didn't have a reservation; however, the owner/manager (?) was friendly and kind enough to give us a table. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded when we went for an early lunch. The food was tasty. From the chicken sandwich to the French toast and waffles, everything was mouth-watering. I ordered the chili hot chocolate (oooweee, this had a great amount of heat and it was so good!) Temperature-wise, my hot chocolate and the food could have been a bit hotter. Overall, this was a cool restaurant.

First and last time at Ali’s! Doubles is not authentic trini doubles the Channa tasted like it for roti not doubles! I was so excited to find a place in the Bronx for doubles because I moved from queens but since trying this place I’ll take that drive to queens when I want doubles! Also asked for bandania sauce and didn’t get any if he didn’t have he should have said something!

The roti taste like Ali roti’s personality less than to be desired. I ordered a simple chicken roti with pumpkin. I got a chicken neck bone stew wrapped up in flour roti with a half a teaspoon of pumpkin I needed a magnifying glass to find the pumpkin and lots of chicken fat, when I clearly asked for no fat . and I also got a stomachache don’t need to come back here ever truly lousy..

In one word…NASTY! I ordered a curry goat roti which was completely dry with no gravy. The shell (I can’t remember what it is called) is also dry and crumbly! I can’t remember what kind of roti my aunt ordered, but she threw her meal away when she got home! Also, my aunt and I were having a pleasant enough conversation with the owner until it turned offensive. He felt the need to school my aunt and I on the “problem with Black people” which he felt was too much religion. I didn’t say anything because the food was already paid for. We are African American and the comment was very off putting. To the owner, sir…NOBODY ASKED! With that attitude, you would think the food was on point! Even if the food was delicious, apparently he has strong opinions about Africa Americans. That alone would keep me from patronizing this business.

Best channa doubles I’ve ever had. The shrimp ones are really good too. And a must with the tamarind sauce. Just wish it wasn’t cash only cus I always forget that part lol

Whoever rated the quality/taste of food above 3 stars, especially the basics like doubles and aloo pie is out of their minds or really haven't explored other restaurants or home kitchens. If you know authentic, well-seasoned, flavorful food, don't waste your time or money to go here. Sad to say, but agree with other reviewers, it's satisfactory if you're really craving sub-par Caribbean dishes.

I am genuinely happy with the outcome of my visit here. I've tried many many trinidadian places in New York and so far this is up there as my number 1 spot. I went to get some doubles and pholourie first because we all know , if you can make good doubles, everything else should follow. The prices are incredibly fair, 2$ for a doubles and 2$ for 12! pholourie ( Little fried bread like balls with a dipping sauce) The taste of the food is great, It reminds me of home. I will definitely have to go back and try their other menu items in the future because their food is tasty, large portions and affordable. The service is quick and friendly as well and the restaurant itself has a nice feel to it with the decor. A+

I loooveee this place!!!! The doubles are delicious and so is the curry chicken roti and poulorie, the lady at the register is always nice. Whenever I go to the Bronx I have to stop for some delicious Trini goodies!!! The only negative is that they only take cash but other than that, this place is a 2 thumbs up!!!

This café has become my new favorite! The customer service was impeccable, Rain made me the best chai I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was amazing, making me feel right at home. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of chai.

Stopped by this little trendy shop and it was pretty awesome for its size, plus they have 2 outdoor seating areas. I had the wings they were cool for 5 bucks! They also serve alcohol, and the staff is super friendly... looking for a chill vibe hangout spot that won't break the bank in SOBO, COME HERE! 😁

Such a cute and cozy coffee shop with a great atmosphere! It has an artsy, creative vibe that makes it a comfortable spot to relax. The coffee is excellent—smooth and flavorful—and the panini is really good too. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. Small, cozy, and full of good vibes—definitely worth a stop!

The Boogie down is something you need to experience yourself it’s south Bronx as only the south can be ! You always leave with a warm heart and a smile

Wow, this localy owned place is the definition of community love and a safe place for all offering amazing coffee and fresh pastries ( croissants are delicious) and other food options ( must try their breakfast sandwich $5ish) omelettes, waffles and so on . They also have summer frozen cocktails. The prices are lower than other places around NYC and very affordable! On top of being a cafe they hold poetry nights open to local artists to express themselves and share their art, have local vendors sell their products and just a safe space for the community. We kept coming back for our coffee fix and some breakfast bite. I highly recommend this place!!

I have ordered food from Neerob using ChefsRHere. Their food is quite tasty and the amount is reasonable. However, the quality of the beef pieces are terrible. Most of the pieces are either fat or bone. I had to throw out almost half of the pieces. If they take care of this issue, I think it would be a nice place to cater food from.

I bought those from this store, i was really hungry and it was my 2nd time n last time in this store. They gave me a food where i found Grilled Fly🙂. Even though their meals taste are fine , they have to work on cleaning and proper glasses for their eyes.

I’m sorry that I have to write this bad review after eating at Neerob about 20 times since I moved to the Bronx in July. But recently they have gone downhill and the owner has been a jerk. I’ll start with the food I got last night. Firstly, the chicken biryani I received had one decent sized piece of chicken and two small chunks. This is much less than I’ve received in the past. There was like a 80-20 rice-chicken ratio. That’s putrid. You can see the three pieces of chicken in my picture. There’s a little more rice left in the container with no more chicken. For $10 that’s outrageous. Secondly on this order, I feel sick. One of the pieces of chicken was not fresh and had an old taste. The other two were fine enough. Immediately I felt a stomach ache which is still with me now three hours after eating. So not only did I receive very little chicken, the chicken i did receive was spoiled. Other than todays order, the owner was rude to me a few weeks ago. For a while I had been getting biryani rice with no chicken and they were charging me $5 for a container of just rice. Fair deal. Then one day the owner said sorry it’s $7. I said but I had it for $5 10 times and he said 10 times we made a mistake with a negative tone. He was never negative with me before that and was always friendly. I don’t know what happened. Even last night he ignored me while another work served me the biryani. My last complaint is that two times I ordered tandoori chicken legs and they were rock hard. The other times I got it the legs were tender and tasted great. But those two times they were so hard. Almost as if they weren’t fully defrosted. Each of my three complaints here are based on differences from one time to another. Maybe a bunch of times the food was fantastic, fresh, didn’t feel sick. But I’m sorry you need to be consistent and also not have an attitude. And if I can’t trust that your food will be soft, fresh, and won’t make me sick then I’ll find another place

Their food is delicious. Service is only good when owner is around. Owner is very good person. But the employees are very rude and their service is horrible. Specifically who works on the front. The lady told me it will take 10 minutes to give me a small container of sauce which is just front of her.

Once again… another excellent experience!!! We’re a fan of foods here at Neerob, particularly breakfast items. Took my elder sister’s family to try porotha, kalavuna, mix veggie and yummy paya… they LOVED it. Owner… Khokon has been nothing but a pleasant and entertaining person with great service having polite crews. Highly recommend so try it and hopefully you wouldn’t regret it!!!

Best place ever to try authentic puran dhaka r kacchi biriyani. Shout out to Khokon uncle and his team for outstanding work at my son’s birthday party. Every guest of mine praised the food quality. The quality of food and hospitality of the staff were very impressive. It was great to see plenty of options in the menu - as a tourist devoid of authentic Bangladeshi cuisine it's really difficult to leave anything out! The restaurant is quite well known in NYC to Bangladeshi expats and it has been featured in NYT a few times. Highly recommended to satisfy your appetite for real Bengali food.

I’ve been going to this bakery since 2016 when I was 14-15 years old, I unfortunately can’t go as much anymore, but I will alwaysss love this place. I love the owners and ofc the delicious baked goods. The sizing and affordability is just so unbelievable considering how expensive everything is this day….this spot is the definition of a hidden gem. Praying for more longevity and success for the owners 💜

The bread is so delicious I get it sliced and their pound cake, the croissants and apple turnovers and big donuts yummy. And you go there early get a hot butter bagel! 😋 I also had them do 4 dozen dinner rolls for my Christmas party, They were so delicious they were hit of the party.

Apple turnover is perfect. I should’ve gotten 2! Super homey, mom/pop vibes. Two pasties and a small tea were under $5

Randomly popped in here when I lived in the neighborhood 10 years ago now, I was met with kind service, a cheese danish type pastry that was still warm and a craving to stand the test of time. Please support small business. 🙏
