Numerous captivating stories are shared, historical artifacts are displayed, and the history behind them is revealed, making the aquarium a calming and inspiring experience. Boarding the ships provides a close-up view of everything, fostering an appreciation for the hard work and dedication invested. There is much to absorb and appreciate, rendering it an enjoyable experience. The attraction is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. A return visit is definitely warranted.

Third time visiting and it definitely won’t be the last! This place has become a must stop every time I’m passing through Dubuque. They’re even working on a new otter enclosure, which looks like it’s going to be a great addition. The history of the steamboats and the river is genuinely fascinating, and getting to explore the actual steamboats and the various rooms inside them is such a cool experience. The indoor exhibits are perfect for kids too tons of hands on activities like microscopes and interactive displays to keep them engaged. Highly recommend for families or anyone curious about river!

We visited this place several times before and this time we went to the dinosaur exhibition on the second floor! Huge blast for our son who is adoring dinosaurs. Quality of all models is excellent and displays look fabulous. If you still thinking about going or not you are absolutely necessary need to go! For general admission you will have to experiences at once. ! Dinosaurs exhibition is open til September 14 !

The museum and staff far exceeded our expectations! Exhibits were interesting and insightful, and the fish/animals in aquarium settings are well cared for and so fun to watch! My son (4yo), myself (30+), and my dad (70+) all had a fantastic time!

I've been through A LOT of aquariums. This might be one of the best. Not necessarily because of the aquarium part but the whole museum is large and interesting. There's a large part outside with riverboats, two museums, part history museum and art museum. You really could spend half a day here.

I really enjoyed my visit, and I would highly recommend it for families with children. There are lots of interactive displays and staff members doing live talks and demonstrations throughout. The shipyard was a highlight, as was being able to board the old ships. Lots of empty cages in the shipyard, so not sure if the birds were taken inside for the winter.

My grand daughters age 14, 10, & 9 all loved it. Viewing the exhibits and exploring the boats were so much fun. Loved the animal interaction areas and the water control play area.

Awesome place, worth the visit, we came here after spending one night in Galena, IL which is just 20min away from Dubuque. We visited by the end of March, the parking lot was closed but we hiked all the way up to the park which is just a short and easy hike, there were just a couple of people walking around, the best part was that we had the chance to see 2 beautiful and impressive bald eagles flying from the trees in the park and going along the river, as well as pelicans, woodpeckers and so many other birds. Great visit.

This park is worth a visit anytime I'm in the area. Amazing views, eagles, and the woods are filled with the happiest songbirds. Today it seemed like dozens of Orioles flying amongst the many large trees here. I enjoy watching the river flow downstream, hearing its power over the dam. I'm going to have to have a picnic here someday soon. I swear I've seen some of this park in my dreams, I guess that tells you how magical it is.

One of my favorite parks in the world. Not kidding. What a wonderful gem overlooking the Great Mississippi and the Lock and Dam. Views of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Gorgeous!! Well maintained with very nice shelters and picnic areas.

Huge, beautiful park with many areas to hold events, many playgrounds, and gorgeous views of the Mississippi. Entrance was only $1.

This site stated dogs were allowed so we came with a well behaved Golden and the guy taking money at the gate said dogs were not allowed to get out of the car so we just drove through it Not dog friendly here.

Described as "The world's steepest, shortest scenic railway". The incline was originally constructed in 1882 and ten years was charging a small fee to transport workers 189 feet from their homes to where they worked below. It still is in operation and provides a nostalgic ride with views of the Dubuque business district the Mississippi River and three states.

f you do 1 thing in Dubuque it has to be to ride this. I could have done this all day long. What a unique experience. Read up on the history too. There’s a beautiful view of downtown Dubuque and the Mississippi River from the top. And $4 for a roundtrip ride? Yes please.

Was pretty neat ride. Never knew this was here, just recently heard about it, since we were in the area, checked it out. You can get 6 adults in a trolly box. 4.00 round trip each person, killer deal! Nice steep ride up to the top, with awesome views of the city and Mississippi River. It's a must visit if in the area.

Cash only. If riding from the bottom to the top you'll pay at the top. The small line moved quickly and the ride itself isn't long. At the top you get a good view of the city. I rode in the day, but would like to come again at dusk when the city lights start coming on.

Haven’t rode the incline elevator in nearly fifty years so thought I’d give it a ride. $2 one way or $4 r/t. It’s a great way to see a scenic view of the city and well worth it in my opinion.

This was the coolest thing. I saw this online quite a few years ago and have always wanted to come. Everything worked flawlessly, clean, and the staff were very friendly.

Just a bar. If you expected wine tasting experience - this is not a right place to go. No stories behind the wine, small place, serving just wine, no options to pair with cheese, fruits, meats, etc. Historical building with some old machinery. Maybe good at night with live bands. But at day time is a place to stop by for 10 minutes.

My pictures don’t do this place justice. The historic decor is excellent. We had excellent service and we really liked the wine and beer selection. A good stop.

This review is solely based off of the wine and the petite for dessert. Good selection of wine for those that like sweet and dry. Servers are very friendly. If you’re in the area this place is worth a stop.

Had such a fun Friday night here listening to live music & enjoying a wine flight. We ordered a gluten free pizza which was great! Love that they had allergen friendly options. The wines were a tad too sweet for my personal taste, but my partner loved all of the wines in our flight! The ambiance was great- only recommendation would be to have a better organized process for ordering and closing out, but that is an easy fix! Loved it.

This place is just off the River Path. Lots of great things to drink and eat. Live music when we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Flights of wine and beer. Nice place to sit outside to chat.

This is our favorite winery and is always a stop when we visit anywhere close enough to drop in. They are generally pretty busy and today was no exception. It was a super hot afternoon and they were hosting a wedding at their even location located close by. The servers still did their best to accommodate us and we forgave them for the time it took to get our drinks based upon the number of people there. The wine as usual was delicious and affordably priced when we purchased several bottles before leaving.. Many wines to choose from guaranteed to satisfy any palette you may have.

Typical winery and craft brewery experience. Chances are very good that they’ll have something on the menu that you’ll enjoy. Located in a beautifully well preserved old building right next to the river walk, in case you feel like taking a short stroll.

Mines of Spain State Recreation Area near Dubuque, Iowa boasts a rich history and natural beauty. This location was once used for lead mining and is now a National Historic Landmark with village sites, rock shelters, and trading post locations scattered throughout the landscape. The Julien Dubuque Monument, dedicated to the first European settler in the area, provides a great view of the Mississippi River and serves as a landmark for the park. Visitors can explore the area through a variety of trails and learn about the state's history at the E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center. In addition, programs are offered throughout the year and special arrangements can be made with the park staff. Park offers 15.1 miles of trails for hiking or biking. These trails showcase the park's beauty by providing views of towering limestone bluffs and scenic vistas. The American State Park Woodland Walk at the interpretive center explores the history of different trees and the Horseshoe Bluff trail and the John and Alice Butler trail are ADA accessible. This is a great location for hunting enthusiasts as it is a wildlife management area that allows trapping and archery hunting in all seasons. Limited firearm hunting for deer and spring turkey is allowed south of Catfish Creek. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic at various locations throughout the park, including the E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center, the Julien Dubuque Monument, and the Horseshoe Bluff Area. Enjoy your activities!

A beautiful park for a hike! The trail we chose was not too difficult but had nice scenery. We'd love to come back to explore further soon.

Walked the 6 mile Eagle Scout loop this morning. It was well maintained 2-track. The grassy portions were mowed. Mid-August morning and no mosquitoes. Beautiful scenery.

A Dubuque must-see (more like must-experience) for the nature lovers, fitness-minded, exploratory, history buffs, and the bring the kids, too! Walking trails, barbeque pits, an educational center, canoe launch, decent fishing... All easily accessible. What are you waiting for? Get off your duffs and go see it!

Great experience. Pearl was a great tour guide. Very professional but felt like our friend of a long time. A ton of knowledge and we all were interested in parts of the cave crystals that were named. Overall we’ll check it out again. Also they provided jackets for you to borrow the caves are 55 Degrees.

Our family went today 8/2/25, we got there about 9:45 and our tour started at 10. Our tour guide was Alex and he was amazing! I would suggest getting there when they open as you have a better chance of having a smaller group, ours was 6 but they can be as big as 25! Crystal lake cave was about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us but it was worth it, it was a great experience! Alex also mentioned the Mines of Spain that are nearby and that is something else I would suggest to check out. I would definitely go back!!

This is a cool little side trip if you’re in the area. We took the 45 minute tour which begins in the small gift shop. The walk through the cave is fairly narrow so it was difficult to hear the guide since we were in the back. The scenery was somewhat interesting but not compared to the bigger caves in Virginia or Pennsylvania. If you have an hour to kill it’s a good choice.

We got our tickets on-site around noon and were placed in the 12:35 group tour. Phoenix was our tour guide and she was lovely! Very funny, informative, made sure we saw everything in the caves, and was enthusiastic to answer any questions, as well as providing fun facts about each sightseeing point. :) Don’t forget to sign the guestbook!

This place was SO cool! Stopped in for a tour this past weekend. Our tour guide was Brock and he was super informative about the cave and also made the tour fun while giving plenty of cool facts and science of the cave. I was in awe of all the formations in the cave. Definitely was worth the $20 for the tour!

Guided tour takes about 45 minutes and cost $20. Temperature in the cave runs about 52 degrees and has water in spots so dress accordingly. There is steps so strollers aren't allowed.

Andy is a spectacular guide and he was beyond knowledgable about a variety of things; he surprised us more as the tour went on. Beautiful cave with formations that are thousands of years old. This cave has tremendous natural beauty

Our travels happened to take us through Dubuque so we stopped at the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Absolutely beautiful arboretum - great walking paths and plenty of places to sit and observe the various gardens. Great for short visits or long walks. Highly recommend!

The Japanese Garden stole my heart. It was so beautiful. I went on the perfect day with my kids and we loved our afternoon. We enjoyed scenic views , witnessed a beautiful wedding ceremony, had ice-cream at the gift shops deck and I purchased the best honey 🍯 kids played at the park. We really enjoyed our visit

Not in its best shape . Nothing too special besides the koi pond. It was nice just to have a place to walk around tho. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy a little nature . I didn’t find the place too pretty and wasn’t awe struck

Large park, and free, i think. We didn't pay anything to get in and nobody said anything to us so, i guess it's free. Probably is. Very nice though. Nice to walk around.

Not as colourful as in Spring, but still lots of interesting plants and flowers in October. Good place to breathe and relax at any time.

The Mississippi River Walk is a beautiful walk along the Mississippi River so much to see. From the trains across the river seemed like every 15mins, to the artwork designs, to signs that have interesting info on them, and the relaxation of a beautiful place to just walk. Plenty of benches to sit and just watch boats go up and down the river or wildlife all around. The shot tower is on the north side of the walk underneath the bridge. The south side of the walk has an aquarium, museum, and Casino Diamond Jo

Nice views of the River valley. It is a bit dirty and filled with natural debris along the actual shoreline, but the trail itself is beautiful, well-cared for, decorated with flowers, art, and local information.

Beautiful and peaceful, and must-do in Dubuque. Lovely art, great views of the shot tower and the river, obviously, with little beaches to stand right at the riverfront (no wading or swimming allowed but we had a good play). Vultures flying around when we were there which added to the atmosphere! Stone Creek Winery at the end of the walk and a highlight for us.

Great stop in Dubuque. Not a long path but can do it twice if you're trying to get your steps in. Multiple great stops for lunch or dinner along here as well!

Very peaceful and calming. There are benches along the path to sit, relax and watch the activity on the river. Low impact, non stressful walking path along the river.

Beautiful walk if you are in town for conferences. Get out and stretch your legs or for more rigorous exercise.

Really cool and fun piece of history. The views at the top were incredible! Definitely worth it, even if you're afraid of heights! The fee was very small for a such a neat thing. Cash only tho!

A fun quick ride up and down the elevator. Nice views from the top and the bottom and on the way. Round-trip up and down (or down and up) four dollars per person. Worth it if you’re going from top to bottom or if you just want a nice ride.

Our kids loved this. Just get on at the bottom and ride up and pay. There is an attendant at the top. A classic fun national treasure. Great view of the city and river. So unique. Much more fun than it looks.

Such a cool, cheap, fun ride! Insane views of the Mississippi River and downtown Dubuque. If you want the money shot, it's here! I do not understand how anyone could rate this lower. Oh wait, you didn't do your research, you didn't read the sign that clearly says "Cash Only". C'mon people, be better tourists, signs are there for your benefit, they're not suggestions.

A simple and fun diversion from the beaten path. The trolly goes down the hill where you can stop for an ice cream or a small meal. Then, the trolley goes back up the hill.

The Fenelon Place Elevator is a cute and very creative system to get people from the street of Dubuque to the top of the hill looking over the entire City and Mississippi River. You are able to see Wisconsin and Illinois as well on the other side of the Mississippi river at the top. Kids will love it. Just keep in mind it is a very cramped car for really only people. Wheelchairs and strollers wont fit. The cable car itself was created by a local man that wanted to go home for lunch every day. So instead of walking the long way up the hill he created this train/pully car system to do just that. Remember to bring cash they dont take cards and its 4 dollars pp up and back down. Totally worth taking a few minutes or hour to take in the entire city of Dubuque.

A lot of games are tight, even the bonus games. Very smokey. The ATM are old. You can not see the numbers on the pad. Staff seem friendly, and the drinks are not priced badly

A couple of friends and I go to bet on college basketball and nfl football. The atmosphere is great and drinks are reasonable. It's always clean, especially the bathrooms. We have gone several years in a row and will continue into the future.

I've been here 3 times and had great time all 3 visits. After my first visit I received everything I lost that first night ($120) back in the form of 2 $60 Freeplay vouchers. Plenty of games, plenty of parking. Clean, smells good .

Very smokey, slot machine with ashes all over. Took 15 minutes to get 2 beers at the bar. It wasn't that busy. I had a plastic bottle of water with me and an employee told me I had to get rid of it as it was not allowed. None of the casinos in Mn,Wi and Mi have never scolded me. My party won't go here again. Went to the Q. I read in some of owner comments that air quality is very important to them. If that were the case, they could have made the casino smoke free after covid like most casino's.

Really Smokey and the machines don't pay out very tight Pit Bosses were rude and the dealers had no personality. Everywhere you look somebody was wiping down or cleaning something down on the slot machines and then everybody pulls out the chairs at midnight and you got to walk around them all while you're cleaning the joint and I couldn't get a decent steak cuz it wasn't open. I don't think I'll ever be back but that's all good not much for Dubuque Iowa anyway. And you need to get a new printer for your players cards because it took them 15 minutes to get my new players card which doesn't work in any of the machines anyway it kept kicking me out with a red light instead of keeping me logged in and I'm a first-timer and you don't give any free play or any perks or any discounts not too impressed

Drove 45 minutes saying their tables are open until 3:00am. Not true at all. Personal working still tables were open. Walk in and not a table alive. Showed up well before their time limit and was left with I’m sorry. Would recommend the Q every time. Extremely disappointed. Even after exploring, limited options poor payouts from a 7 man group.

Machines were broken, buttons didn't work or slots would error out for void plays. Lots of areas were closed or blocked off. The place was disgusting, bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned and smelled horrible. The only saving grace for this place was the nice lady in filament who busted her toosh working the bar and getting walkin orders. She was super nice and very attentive. For a boyd casino I expected a higher caliber of operations, but Diamond Jo feel extremely short.

One of my favorite places in Dubuque. No matter the time of year, the views are breathtaking. Despite it being a popular place, the atmosphere is always calming and quiet. Would definitely put it on any Midwest bucket list.

Great view, quick and easy to get to. Love to know what's with the extra quotation marks on the tomb. "Dead"..... So he's not dead? He's risen? He's midwest Christ? It's nice to know people haven't figured out punctuation for generations.

It's interesting but pretty small. I think it only took us about 30 minutes to go through the whole place. But the art work is interesting.

We visited from out of town on June 23, 2024. There's lots of construction going on nearby, so be aware of that. When we visited their second floor gallery was closed, so we were only able to check out the small gallery on the main level. It's nice to see a bit of culture in Dubuque. I hope to return to see what else they have to offer then it's fully open. They have a good sized parking lot right next to the building. They also a cute little gift shop inside.

Very neat for a small musuem

The temporary exhibitions are always top-notch and usually feature artists from the region. The permanent collection has some truly great pieces by Grant Wood, Winslow Homer, Ellen Wagener, and Edward Curtis. The museum is planning a new facility and currently has a cool scale model of Dubuque on display in the lobby.

Small but impactful. There were 2 Smithsonian collections on display when we visited. We also got in free for the winters farmers market. Every Thursday in 2019 entrance to the exhibits is free due to a donation given to the museum. The museum is family friendly with new exhibits, cultural shows, and craft project days for children.

The place definitely lives up to its name! Such a beautiful place to snowboard in terms of a chill view especially during the sunset in the north lodge and just riding. Be cautious though of an undertone of racism. If you are a person of color almost everyone is going to give you “the look”, even the kids. Despite that there were friendly people I ran into and had conversations with me. The employees are mostly teens anywhere from 15-18 about 85% and adults 45+ 15%. I’ve been 2 times and I’d go again simply because it’s the closest place to snowboard for me. I had fun overall but if you are a POC go in a group of people you trust and that have your back. Food is over priced. I payed $20 for a bacon cheeseburger which had one piece of bacon on it, fry’s and a drink.

So overly priced, from lift tickets to the food. To take a family of four you may as well put a second mortgage out on your home. Runs are poorly marked, staff is fairly young always using bad language, parking lot is not paved and a mudhole on warm days. Chestnut in Galena is much better.

Our first time to ski 😊We got the 1 hr lesson to ski with Jay and Joe at 12.30. They are professional and really helpful with wonderful attitude to teach, so we learned a lots from them and my daughter got really excited. We were there all day. So much fun

Good food as long as you order online there is almost no wait and have good service. Park is decent and they have variety would definitely recommend. (And from reading all the 1 star reviews they basically focus on all the bad stuff and are either making things up or just catch people when they are having a bad day) Highly recommended!!!

Be advised, this place is treacherous! If you are not an expert, Sundown mountain will eat your lunch! The beginner slope, is anything but! If you are just starting out, this is not the place for you! My GPS read 60 mph! If you can’t handle this, STAY AWAY!! Beautiful scenery though! I loved the view, but it was hard to enjoy the scenery when I felt like I was about to die!

VERY family friendly place. Busy on the slopes on the weekends a slight disadvantage, but the slopes are amazing and what more can you ask for in iowa right! 🤣 The kids park and adult instructors are WONDERFUL they work amazing and always are in good moods especially in kids park my kids loved it! Was a great experience would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to go back again!

The play kitchen witches was poorly advertised. On the radio it didn't say anything about the ladies fighting over a man. It only talks about 2 ladies who fight about cooking My boyfriend Brian payed for 2 tickets online for me and him We feel it was a waste of our money and time to see 2 old ladies fighting over a man Not fighting about cooking, like the radio add said. Friendly staff, intimate setting, hilarious show, I will be going back. This is a great date night option, although the crowd is generally older it is a gem if the younger crowd discovers it.

I was never interested in theater, but when I saw here a show, I started to like it. I watched minimum 5-6 plays, and they always made a good show. It will be missing.

Community theater is such an important thing. The people, the laughs, the kids programs - it's all essential to keep our community interesting and fun. Bell Tower is an important member of our arts community and we love what they do. The staff and volunteers are really great, and the shows are a ton of fun.

ALWAYS a great time at the Bell Tower. Everyone there is soooooo supportive and engaging and absolutely dedicated to bringing fun theater experiences to as many people as possible!

We recommend that you go and have a blast. We did the lunch cruise. 🛳 😎 People were sitting outside on the deck and having a great time. We have done it in the past as a couple. And now we brought our kids along for the ride. Friendly staff and very helpful.👌 The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and the history. It's always a fun experience.👍😊👍

Had a great cruise down the Mississippi and the food was catered by restaurant a few feet away. Really good chicken and ham dinner. A++❤️👍😎

We had a very enjoyable afternoon on the lunch cruise. Our family is very spread out, and this was the perfect venue for a carefree reunion. The lower deck was perfect for the handicapped people in our group. Would recommend it for family gatherings.

We had an absolute blast on the American Lady boat tour! We celebrated my husband's birthday & it was the perfect way to mark the occasion. The scenery was breathtaking, the food was delicious, & the company was even better! The captain's knowledge & enthusiasm about the history of the area really added to the experience. We loved learning about the sights & landmarks while taking in the stunning views. The whole experience was just wonderful, & we can't wait to do it again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun & memorable experience!

The American Lady is a classic cruise along the Mississippi River. Very fun, informative, and the dinner is awesome. We love coming to Dubuque and taking to dinner cruise, especially in the early fall.

This farmer's market lives up to it's reputation---the OLDEST, SUPER LOCATION, the BIGGEST one in Iowa I've been to, absolutely THE BEST "breakfast fare", & a HUGE VARIETY OF VENDORS and their products & produce!! LOVED IT!!!

Get rid of the anti gun booth. I went to a FARMER'S MARKET not a political event!!!. The vendor packet says you support locally grown produce snd crafts... Please keep it about home grown products not social/political agendas no matter what the topic is.

The better of the two city parks in Dubuque. Grand views of the city and the Mississippi River are abundant along the wooded trails. Julien Dubuque Monument is the highlight.

It is a clean site. The information on the podiums is very educational and gives a good appreciation. The actual monument is very impressive.

I rode my motorcycle through, and it was beautiful. I plan to bring my family back to hike.

My husband, 2 youngest daughters and I recently visited the Mathias Ham house. Unknown to us, we were in for a delightful and enlightening experience! We had an incredibly patient and knowledgeable young lady named Kaitlin provide our tour. Kaitlin was super patient and respectful of our MANY questions!! (we didn't know that our family had an ancestral connection to the Ham house until the day of our visit). Kaitlin went well above the "call of duty" in making our tour experience one that we will talk about for a lifetime! Thank you Kaitlin, for sharing all of your amazing insights and nuggets! Your passion for the topic helped us answer a lot of questions ...many that we didn't know we had until that day! Keep up the great work!

I took my 10 year old daughter for tea at the Mathias House for Christmas. It was the most enjoyable day. Vicki is the most gracious innkeeper. I look forward to being able to spend the night at the Bed and Breakfast. Vicki gave us a fabulous tour of the house and the rooms are decorated to perfection. They are so true to the era and absolutely gorgeous. Back to the tea which was delicious! The tea selection was phenomenal and the food was superb. We cannot wait to return. Finding the Mathias House and Vicki has truly been a blessing to us!

Nice place to visit if you are interested in historic houses. There are tour guides who will give you a description of how people lived in the late 19th century as well as the furnishings and examples of clothing. The guides are experienced and do good job answering questions.

A lot of road work getting to campground. Large area with level sites. Dog friendly. Booked reservation online. Site was not long enough for a 43’ 5th wheel. I called campground and the gentleman said the website needs to have changes. State owned. He was able to move us into a larger site and was polite. Would definitely stay here again when road construction to campground is completed. A lot of trash in trees where tent sites are. Mattress, fast food wrappers, and dog doo. Sites are electric only. They did have area for filling your water tank if needed.

WAY TOO MUCH PUBLIC TRAFFIC!! No signage indicating dead end, campers only. Bathrooms are dirty and run down. Host site? Look’s abandoned. Kind of scary. But we are ON the river and THAT is beautiful!! Dubuque needs to step up and tend this park!!

I didn't camp So I don't know how well this review will be received. I went to the campground on the 3rd of July to watch the airshow and fireworks. We had to park at guest parking by the bathrooms and shower and walk down to the river bank and set up to watch. There wasn't much parking available. But it seemed like EVERY SINGLE campground spot was taken. There were predictions for extreme severe weather so we ended up leaving before the show. The bathrooms were really hot and humid.

October here at this campground is just stunning. The boats going by, river in the leaves changing the back/West side of the campground isolated from all the noise of Dubuque. The east side is the Mississippi river. There are a few 200 foot pull throughs. The rest are very expansive campsites. A little bit of road noise from the highway going over the bridge. And a couple of trains didn’t bother us in a bit pet friendly there is a bathhouse that is really nice and really cute ship shaped playground set. They like it quiet here several rules deal with just being quiet fancy casino is quarter-mile on the other side of the trees places to eat nearby.

Changed our campsite day before we arrived but the new site was better with a good view of the water. Bathroom needed a cleaning but was ok. Sites have electric only

It is a beautiful campground and the views are awesome. The restrooms need some work, and the signage needs updated. But overall, a great time.

Beautiful, lush, green and quiet campground with easy access to the interstate. The camp host, Michael is wonderful! He lives on site and is always there. Very helpful and informative. They only have electric hook up which is fine when you understand that in advance. We will definitely stay there again!

This not for profit restaurant and farmstead was worth every penny we spent. The selection was greater than expected. The food was just down right fantastic. Quinoa breakfast bowl, the quiche of the day, the breakfast burrito and the better burger were all delicious. The people were buying prepared meals as fast as they were made. As a side the rosemary potatoes were 5 stars.

we visited here on a saturday morning while in town for the weekend & we were so impressed! we knew they were short staffed, but the woman seating & serving us was incredible & very on top of things. & the kitchen was quick & did amazing! i got the sweet potato quinoa bowl & it was so tasty & was the perfect amount. we had a great time here even as they were short staffed so i bet it’s somehow even better with a full staff! i also admire the work they do for the community with the classes & gardens.

Not your standard restaurant. We stopped in for pizza night with very picky friends. They have a limited menu for pizza, cheese, sausage, pepperoni, Mediterranean and weekly specialty. The specialty was Alfredo this week. All pizzas are personal size so we each ordered. One got the Mediterranean and she said it was one of the best pizzas she's had. I really enjoyed my pepperoni. All profits from the restaurant go to feed and support the neighborhood and the people there are very nice.

A nonprofit café‑restaurant in a restored greenhouse with community gardens. I loved the pork quinoa bowl and French toast bread pudding. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. Staff were friendly, passionate, and explained the farm‑to‑table concept. Great ambience, good for brunch or lunch.

Neat place for breakfast. Had some different items on the menu. Had the quinoa bowl with chorizo which was tasty. Their sausage was excellent because it had no grease. Service was very good. Specialty drinks good but a little pricey.

We spent a weekend in Dubuque and were really looking forward to brunch here after researching it — I loved the concept and mission. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We were promptly seated but then ignored while tables around us were cleared and guests who arrived after us were served. After about 15 minutes, I had to walk up to the coffee bar to order drinks myself. Even then, other people’s drinks were made before mine. I mentioned to staff (three separate times) that we weren’t being served while others who came after us were — yet nothing changed. Eventually, I brought the drinks back to our table, but after another 15 minutes of being overlooked while others were attended to, we decided not to stay for food. Despite raising the issue multiple times, we never received an apology or acknowledgment. The concept is wonderful, but the service experience fell far short.

I don't know how they did it but they made a simple bacon, egg and cheese panini one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! And such a unique concept! Its a garden-to-plate restaurant, built in the heart of a downtown neighborhood, with art from local artists featured in the decor. Their food is made from scratch with ingredients picked from their extensive garden complex built behind the restaurant. Herbs and spices, vegetables, even the eggs gathered fresh from hens they raise! And after eating you can tour their gardens. So cool! And sooooo delicious!

One of the most beautiful and moving monuments to veterans I have visited, covering service from the American Revolution to the present

This place is a pure hearted tribute to those that gave up everything so that we could have the freedoms we enjoy today! My dad was a Vietnam veteran and I teared up seeing this! It truly would have made him cry to know they do honor the ones that fought on a foreign shore to find their country didn’t want them back! Blessed to say America is my home and this is an honor for all veterans who served and lost their life! Thank you for the service you have!

A cozy old style theater, rich on history. The seats like all from this Era are a bit small for today's Americans. But after you settle in that falls by the wayside. Saw the Golden Girls Touring Show here 5/9/24. Excellent show. Even better in a smaller venue since it is part interactive.

It was 90+ degrees on the floor where our seats were. You are so close to the people next to you that you are touching and the seats in front of you are so close you cannot get your legs in a comfortable position. Popcorn tased like it had been prepared a week in advance. Not a good experience

Historic theater in a good area of downtown. Parking was easy to find, either on the street or a public paid parking garage is within walking distance. Seats are comfortable. Theater's concession counter could be relocated to be more accessible especially when lines get long.

I went to see the Chicago concert they were amazing. However, it is not a real large venue. Also, it will not allow you to take in a purse unless it fits in this little small container.

This was a great place to hang out and race 🏁 They have a good ventilation system the food is a little pricey but good i Recommend the pizza and the chicken tenders. The staff at the center are helpful and kind. I tossed out my back and thay gave me a big ice pack so I could keep racing thank you 😊

A beautiful theatrical space that puts on fantastic shows! The team running this organization is very community driven and you can tell they really care about their patrons!

The Grand Opera House is an absolute gem. The building itself is stunning, with beautiful architectural details that make you feel like you’ve stepped into something truly special. The staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we walked in. We saw Footloose and had such a great time. The energy from the cast was infectious, and the performances were full of heart. The sound and lighting were spot on, and the whole production was incredibly well done. You could tell a lot of care went into every part of the show. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

This is a very talented group. I've watched several plays here throughout the years. Its a great intimate venue, with current props and casts. Some of the same actors/actresses in plays and its really great to see their range. Concessions with modest prices. Clean restrooms, and great shows. Free parking half hour before shows across the street. Enjoy the night, and buy the season passes!!

Love all the trails and how they are long with beautiful views. You can eventually connect them all and walk the road to make a loop if you want.

Great starting point for hiking trails in the Mines of Spain Recreation Area. Maps and displays. Very helpful staff. Trails begin outside its doors. Parking and restrooms. Pine Trail to Mesquakie takes you towards Dubuque Monument and to Horseshoe Bluff via Calcite Tr. Great facility.

The center was amazing! I was really impressed with the taxidermy!!! The kids area was very interactive, educational and a lot of fun. I would definitely go back again!

It is actually the Visitor Center for the entire "Mines Of Spain" area. Perfectly prepared for all visitors to this area. The Rangers are very nice and helpful. You will get a lot of teaching materials and other tips useful when exploring this park. there are many hiking trails and viewpoints in the park itself.

The nature center here is clean, well maintained and really fun to explore. Paved walking paths and trails are available. Its a beautiful park and this is a great place to take a break especially if you have kids! Indoor bathrooms are available as well as drinks! There is plenty of parking and picnic tables outside.

The hiking was amazing and steep in many areas depending upon how far you want to hike. Such a beautiful area Highly recommend to get some activity in and enjoy this beautiful area! Lots of history too!

We took a group of 11 Girl Scouts (6th grade). They had a blast. The zip line guides were great with instructions and keeping our group entertained. Our group had little issue navigating the new challenges of heights and hiking between zip lines even though we were hungry by the end. It took 2 hours and 15 with our groups and they were exactly in schedule with what they told us. They sell t-shirts and they are the super soft material.

This was an awesome experience. I grew up listening to my father talk about Union Park. I never thought I’d get to see any of it. The guides were all very informative and professional. I felt completely safe under the guidance. I’d recommend this experience to anyone interested in history, outdoor activities, or zip lining!

Our guides Elise and Jerome were amazing! They did a great job making us feel safe (I was a first timer). They were very informative and we got to learn quite a bit of the history behind the park! This is a good zipline with a lot of interesting history. The guides are down to earth, funny and a pleasure to be around. The grandkids had a good time for their first zipline experience.

Alyssa and Joel were great guides! They were super nice and made it a fun time despite the rain. We enjoyed the “racing ziplines” and stuffed animal drop competition. Wish the zips were a little longer and higher up. Overall a great experience and would recommend to others!

Our family had a wonderful time at SkyTours Ziplining at YMCA Union Camp Park! You won’t necessarily be in a private tour - our 6-person family zipped with 6 additional people (12 people max in the group) - and that worked out just fine! Our family has people 10, 15, 16, 18, and 41 years old - and we all enjoyed the tour. There are 9 zip lines of different lengths; there are a few you have to hike to in order to access; the hike is not just a simple walk on paved ground - there are inclines and some uneven terrain (definitely manageable but good to know for people that may struggle). Our tour guides Jordan and Jerome were EXCELLENT - they provided tips and tricks to zipping including how to steer. They had facts and jokes throughout the park to keep us engaged and laughing. Thank you!

Exceptional place for kids. Tons of activities, like unlimited Lego bricks, play zones, etc. nice climbing wall. Highly recommend as a family time. Kids can play and adults can paint pottery.

10 dollars per child. Everything was clean and organized. There's a cool rock wall to climb and light up board. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is I feel like they could offer a little bit more stuff for the space they have. Otherwise, good experience for the kids.

It was something new for me. First time being here. I thought it was fun and my son liked it a lot wants to go again:) they have 3 to 4 different area's for the kid's to play. They have a light wall, foam building blocks a Lego area and a couple walls that have magnets where you can make your own designs with blocks and pipes. There are a few other thing's you can do so much fun..

A place for everyone in the family! Even on a Saturday, at the beginning of Spring, there were plenty of stations for children to be spread out and find something to do. More than worth the price. Great value and excellent play opportunities. Can’t recommend this enough for everyone, but specially children 3-10.

It's fun. Some of the stuff like the litebrite wall has hardly any pegs, and the ball run wall has maybe one to two balls you can find at any given time. And not a lot of pieces to make a cool ball run. Stools so kids could reach higher would also be nice.

they are so sweet and there’s a variety of things for all ages! like my boyfriend & I didn’t play with toys or legos but we did some pottery painting! we even went over their closing time and they weren’t rude or rushing us! good place, we plan on doing a little party for my little brother since he enjoyed it so much!

My 2-year-old granddaughter loves this place, for hours in a day, any day! Reasonable rate enables many returns, truly serving the community. Plenty of space and stations for all ages and interests.

Dubuque’s landmark! The town clock is a neat addition to downtown Dubuque. While there isn’t really anything else about it, it is neat to check out! Often times, there are people enjoying their lunch in the plaza and sometimes some live music! During the warmer months, many outdoor concerts happen here and they shut the block down.

A standard city plaza—I love the festivals/live music they have down here, and appreciate the vendors who come to set up shop. The Friday lunchtime jams are always nice, too. There is decent seating available, in the warmer months. There are no public restrooms or water fountains, but when there is an event, they bring in portable toilets. Picture credit to Judy Perry.

If you’re a YMCA member it’s great. Zip lines were fun. Only two were open when I went but they have 12 total. One of them is a mile long.

While at the Zip Line Experience, our group learned about the history of Union Park. What an amazing place and experience.
