Located in Dubuque since 1967, the Shot Tower Inn is a popular pub known for its simple, old-school decor and lively local crowd. The inn was named after the Historical Shot Tower near the Mississippi River in Downtown Dubuque. Its unique wooden log cabin-like building stands out among others in the area. The menu offers a variety of options including pizza, beer, grinders, and deep-fried ice cream that has received rave reviews from visitors.
Had an 80th birthday party at the Shot Tower, and can’t speak highly enough about how wonderful the experience was! Managements responses to inquiries and requests in planning made things so easy. Then, Mia took FANTASTIC care of the whole group of 50+ guests making sure the food was hot, the drinks were cold, and the cleanup was flawless. The whole team in back kept everything moving and we all had an amazing experience. We’ll be going back for sure, and recommending Shot Tower to all our friends!

Came here a couple weeks ago and let me tell you.The food is really, really good. The people are very friendly, and it's very nostalgic. This place used to be a shaky's pizza parlor
Majestic T — Google review
The service was quick. But we have had it inconsistent with the apps coming out of the deep fryer before they were fully cooked. The rest of the meal was spot on and the error was quickly corrected.
Carl D — Google review
This isn’t fried ice cream — it’s just plain ice cream coated in granola, cinnamon, and honey. I’ve had real fried ice cream before, and this doesn’t come close. Really disappointed.
Viktoriia S — Google review
We were told they had the best pizza in town. How disappointing, the crust was not crispy and the toppings were barely done. Might as well get a frozen pizza, it would have more taste. The man at the counter who took our order was so rude and should not have that job! I would look for any other place to eat while visiting Dubuque!
Lynn K — Google review
Great hometown pizza. I recommend the Shot tower special. The service was extremely friendly.
Eric L — Google review
Food was good, bartender was pretty attentive, servers gathered to gossip and talk right next to where we were sitting as they all talked in a group next to the bartender. It was pretty annoying when you're trying to have time with your significant other and enjoy a Sunday afternoon meal.
Kelly A — Google review
We had a pretty positive experience, staff is friendly, food was really, place was clean and decor was inviting. Wings an pizza were both very tasty and hot. Crust is different from what I’ve had before but I liked it. Wife had the fish sandwich and she liked it. Nice job!

Marco's Italian & American Foods is a classic pizza parlor that has been family-owned since 1960, serving up traditional Italian and American dishes. They take pride in using the finest ingredients to create authentic Italian flavors, including homemade meatballs, Italian sausages, and sauces. Located in downtown Dubuque, Iowa, this restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Always fantastic! Have been going here since I was a kid, more than 30 years. My mom also came here as a kid (now deceased). My family frequents this establishment and I hope to pass along the tradition to my kids. Marco's needs to be a family establishment that sustains time and continues year after year with their fabulous family recipes so I can bring my grandchildren here one day.
Elizabeth B — Google review
As a Chicago born Sicilian and life long foodie this place is average at best. Pasta overcooked. Sausage was a good size portion and pretty good. Meat sauce was also good, average good..not wow! Crazy good. We were recommended here by a couple locals. Staff seemed nice, decor early 1970's dark everything..needs an update. Would I return, sadly hard no.
AA L — Google review
Look the pizza is good. However I asked for a traditional slice on the pizza 8 triangles, I got a ton of tiny 2 wide slices! And on top of that they made both pizzas too big for the box and proceeded to cut the crust off to fit it 🤦🏻‍♀️ Maybe I'm just too far from home, New York does it right.
Blessing G — Google review
I’m from out of town so was thankful that I found an Italian pizza place with great reviews, however my Elementary school age children and myself all agree that our cheese pizza was way too salty, almost non edible. Please - easy on the salt!
Luisa O — Google review
Fantastic thin crust pizza. The staff is super friendly and the place is quaint and rustic. You cannot go wrong choosing this place.

Placed a pick up order for two medium pizzas. On a Saturday night it took about an hour to be ready which was understandable. Pizza was pretty good! If I am in Dubuque again I would consider ordering again:)

Amazing family owned, one of a kind homemade Italian Restaurant. It is located in a really cool area of downtown Dubuque, Iowa which has transformed itself nicely from a rough and tumble river town into a solid destination town with quality culture and culinary. The food was amazing, the help friendly and educated and real not rehearsed. A MUST stop.

Circa 1970 atmosphere but great food. Thin crust pizza is great, homemade sausage regular or spicy (get the spicy!), basic lettuce salads, soft bread. Full bar, but limited wine selection.

Your Pie Pizza is a popular pizzeria chain where diners can customize their own brick oven-fired pizzas with a variety of dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. The restaurant also offers gelato and microbrews for a complete dining experience. Customers appreciate the option to create their own pizzas or choose from specialty options made with fresh ingredients. The welcoming atmosphere and polite staff make it an ideal place for families, while the quick service ensures that customers receive their freshly made pizzas in a timely manner.
It was our first time here, and Your Pie Pizza is a unique place! You order your pizza, sandwich, salad and watch them make it. Options to pick your own toppings or choose a specialty pizza. They have fresh ingredients which I love, its wonderful! They slide it into a real brick oven for the best crispy crust. You pay while it is cooking and they bring it to your table fairly quickly. It was reasonable and we will definitely be back. We order a supreme and a white pizza. Both were very good! We will be back!
Andrea G — Google review
Love these pizza places. Either you get one made off the menu, or you can get creative & make your own. If not there during the busy times, your pizza is done in about 10 minutes. You can ask for more toppings if you don't think they put on enough. Friendly employees & fast service. Any pizza toppings can also be made into a create your own salad. They also have salad suggestions available.
Mary E — Google review
I didn’t take a picture at first the pizzas really good the crust taste really good. The pizza is a little flimsy, but it’s really delicious pretty greasy but great place. You could choose all your toppings. The staff was incredible. Very kind customer service which is rare these days and they even checked on us throughout our meal. We enjoyed draft beers with our pie 5/5 would recommend and come back. We got the hot honey pepperoni. It wasn’t super spicy, but it was good and you can add any toppings you want to it no extra cost. The chairs are hard and not super “relaxing” environment but they had good music and solid experience overall.
Taylor T — Google review
Your Pie is a great place to get pizza anytime - exactly the way you want it! Choose one of their special pizzas or choose your own toppings. I like seeing all the toppings for myself. It is a casual, very clean, very friendly pizza eatery. The staff are awesome. It’s my favorite!
Pam B — Google review
Extremely good. I’m very glad we decided to order from Your Pie, much better crust than the chain, my only request - please add anchovies to your menu, excellent food!
Nigel B — Google review
The pizza was really good, however in my drink I noticed some black flakes in it. My drink consisted of lemonade and sprite so I’m not sure which drink had them. I got a Fanta and it was fine. After the pizza I got a chocolate and salted caramel gelato. It was really good. I give this a 4.5 stars.
Randy — Google review
Great pizza, place is clean and not super loud. There new wings are fantastic, very flavorful. Service was fast, would recommend.

Always love HJ Pizza! This was a new location for us. We dined in, and it was super clean, and we were served quickly. This is an order at the counter and is served at table type HJ. The staff was super friendly & amazing here as well.

The food was excellent as well as the service. I had the special which was reasonably priced. The only issues is if you are eating in the building there is no air conditioning and it's hot in there!

I have loved this place since I was a little girl! I'm 60 now and still love going there! Great service! And let's not forget the awesome ice cream parlor!
Tanya M — Google review
Prices are way out of control at this and all other happy joes. Almost $40 for one large pizza, that is absolutely insane. You used to see happy joes cars all over Dubuque but now it is very rare to see one, your prices are killing your business. God bless
Robert S — Google review
They changed something. Not sure what, but the pizza was terrible. Really made me sad. It was always the best taco pizza ever.
Jennifer R — Google review
I don't think this is my style of pizza. The crust is hard and crispy on the bottom but kind of softer (almost soggy) under the toppings. I will say it was better cold the next day. My kids liked it, though.
Ryan L — Google review
This is a true classic Family Pizza restaurant that will teleport you back to the golden age of pizzerias. No wonder it has a cult following. We've been to the University location twice on family trips to Dubuque, and the food and service stood out both times. The pizza is great and stands out from the crowd, and Dubuque has some strong pizza competition. Happy Joe's service is exceptional. Thanks to Manager Bob and the super cool drivers for making our family vacation dining in an unforgettable experience. What a great memory. I recommend the sausage (satisfyingly small crumble), their local faves the Taco and BLT, and the Happy Joe's Special ("Iowa Style" with Canadian bacon and Sauerkraut). You can order half & half so take advantage. It's worth noting that the pies are big and the cost is reasonable. Great value for a family trip, especially if you have a refrigerator in your hotel. We look forward to returning!

Enjoyed a light lunch here with a friend. The Panini was light but full of flavor and the "You're in Dubuque" Pizza was absolutely excellent. We ordered the hand-tossed crust which has a light, pastry-like crust. Highly recommend both!

A chic and warm bistro serving gourmet comfort food downtown. I tried the meatloaf and crab cakes — both were bursting with flavor and freshness. The house salad and focaccia were excellent too. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is cozy yet refined. Definitely a spot I’ll return to.

L.May Eatery excels with fantastic Midwest cuisine and a phenomenal staff. Each dish is a delightful blend of local flavors, perfectly prepared. The welcoming and attentive service makes every visit a memorable experience.
Daniel F — Google review
My girlfriend and I were greeted kindly, shown to our table. The table was sticky No server ever came to take our order or bring us drinks We stayed for over 20 minutes before just walking out. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life. The staff was happily engaged with themselves at the front bar area while we sat unattended - there were only four total tables of other customers ( max group size four ) so it was not busy at all the staff was just not being well managed / kept in check.
Neoshoe — Google review
Our waitress was amazing. Her name was Chloe. She truly made this a 5 star experience. Food was exceptional and the dining space was pleasant.
Andrew S — Google review
Our experience at L.May Eatery was a solid four stars. The culinary team's focus on a limited, curated menu is a testament to their commitment to quality over quantity. Every dish we ordered was exceptional, showcasing a clear dedication to fresh, local ingredients. The service was equally impressive, with a genuinely friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel both welcomed and well-cared for. Our meal felt thoughtfully prepared, and the personal touches from the servers elevated the entire evening.
Dan N — Google review
Was recommended this place by my son in law. WOW, the food did not disappoint. The thin crust pizza was amazing a very large (14 in), enough for 3 people for sure. Salads were great and the brownie for dessert was crazy good. Highly recommend this place of you are in Dubuque. It's a bit pricey but portions are big and you can share

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Brazen Open Kitchen | Bar is a stylish eatery located in the heart of the Historic Millwork District. The restaurant features an exposed-brick interior and serves elevated New American fare along with craft cocktails. With a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, their menu changes with the seasons, offering thoughtful and from-scratch dishes. Chef Kevin Scharpf, known for his appearance on Bravo's Top Chef, presents innovative creations such as salmon with vegan risotto and duck confit tacos.
We were wandering Dubuque last night and came upon Brazen and decided to stop for dinner. The menu had a lot of unique combinations on it, which made it hard to choose! The Cucumber Fizz drink was refreshingly perfect for the hot evening. The bread was very tasty. The chilled sweet corn soup was absolutely delicious - I wanted a bucket of it 😂. The peaches appetizer was fairly bland, and the peaches were mealy. That was our only negative dish. I had the cheese pizza with fresh basil added, and it was amazing! I wish the crust was crispier, but regardless, I can’t wait for the leftovers for lunch today. My husband had the salmon. He enjoyed it. Our server was attentive and friendly. We brought our dogs and dined on the patio, and they even brought them water. We would definitely go back, because we want to try some of the other menu items.
Tiffani W — Google review
We are from the suburbs of Chicago and this was our first time in Dubuque. It was a Friday night and we loved the artistic and rustic feel of the Mill district as we walked toward the restaurant. The restaurant is small but warm. Our server was spot on with her timing. Drinks were wonderfully crafted and the food was unique and delicious. The chef obviously takes pride in their selections of locally sourced fresh ingredients and presenting them with visually satisfying appeal. They tasted delicious as well albeit a touch on the salty side but that may be my personal aversion. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and it put us in a great mood to enjoy the rest of our stay.
A - — Google review
If you’re in the mood for elevated, locally focused New American cuisine served in a stylish but friendly setting, Brazen is one of the top dining experiences in the region—even earning high praise as “hands down” the best in Dubuque We started with the crab cake and Asparagus Soup. Both excellent. The soup was silky and vibrant, this asparagus soup is elevated with a hint of chive, a touch of black pepper heat, and a drizzle of olive oil for depth. Clean, comforting, and expertly balanced. The crab cake was delicately crisped jumbo atop a buttery beurre monté, with fresh pea and cucumber relish for a bright, balanced finish. Rich, refined, and full of flavor. Continue with Salad and Salmon The Brazen Salad is a fresh, colorful mix of maps greens tossed in a maple vinaigrette, this salad balances sweet, crisp apple with earthy beets and shaved fennel. Toasted walnuts add crunch, while Parmigiano brings a savory finish. Bright, seasonal, and beautifully layered. The Salmon was a bit dry but it melted-in-my-mouth tender, the salmon is elevated by a velvety velouté and fresh spring peas. Asparagus and potato add texture and heartiness, while smoked caviar brings a luxurious, briny finish. Elegant, seasonal, and beautifully composed. Cocktail Review Both cocktails I had were absolutely delicious and showcased creativity and balance. The Carrot Cocktail was a standout — smooth and bright, with Wheatley Vodka and Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur bringing warmth and depth. The fresh carrot and lemon added a refreshing, earthy-sweet twist that felt both unique and perfectly seasonal. The Old Fashioned was classic done right: rich Elijah Craig Bourbon, just the right touch of raw sugar and bitters, and an aromatic orange twist. Simple, strong, and flawlessly executed. The service was outstanding — attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails, and genuinely warm. Every interaction felt thoughtful and effortless, adding to the overall experience and making the evening feel truly special. If ever in Dubuque and want an exceptional gourmet experience this is your place

If you’re looking for a dining experience that blends incredible food with attentive service, Brazan is the place to be. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and felt genuinely cared for throughout the evening. The dinner itself was nothing short of amazing. We had the ribeye, which was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The ½ Amish chicken was equally impressive, so delectable that every bite left us wanting more. You could tell the kitchen takes pride in every detail, from the freshness of the ingredients to the balance of the menu. What truly set the evening apart, though, was the staff. They were not only professional and efficient but also tentative in the best way—anticipating our needs without hovering and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Brazan delivers the perfect mix of atmosphere, cuisine, and hospitality. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting a memorable dining experience.
Amy K — Google review
I could be biased since I’m very poor, and it was my first time ever ordering at a restaurant with a menu item over $30 except family-size combo meals in drive thrus..but this is the best food I have ever tasted. I accompanied my mother here for my 8th grade graduation, and browsing the menus online I originally thought the menu changed seasonally…and it does, but the items also change regularly. Originally for the spring menu I found online, my mother was interested in the bucatini (sort of Thai dish with peanut sauce) and I was going to order the gnocchi (which had an edible flower in it that sounded intriguing) But when we sat down, there was no gnocchi and the bucatini was completely different! I embraced this change well and I actually really enjoy it, because now I was pushed to broaden my ideas and order a different item than “planned”. This helped me loosen my grip on always planning things when going out to a sit-in restaurant and instead I could accept just going with it. The service was amazing. We were greeted (even welcomed) within a couple minutes of sitting down and asked of any dietary restrictions. We did not end up ordering any drinks (I am 14, my mother’s not too big on alcohol, and each drink was $7 for non-alcoholic) So I ordered the salmon (medium well because I’m a wuss) and my mother ordered the “vegan” since she’s a vegetarian.. The salmon was amazing. I don’t know if it’s because I ordered medium well but it had some crisp on the outside, which basically melted in your mouth. The sauce underneath was surprising upon first bite, pretty lemony and a little creamy. I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t know what vegetables were underneath aside from dill which I’m sure of, it looked like an asparagus head, cubed potato pieces, and one other thing I’m a bit unsure of. I enjoyed the caviar (as my first time having caviar) and I found it to be buttery (???) but also a bit bitter. I had a couple bites of my mom’s vegan order (it was gigantic compared to mine) and it was great. Large pieces of crispy tofu(?) in an ocean of this nice almost tangy tomato-based sauce with other greens, some dill and large beans. I do want to note that the complimentary bread and butter was interesting, I really enjoyed the simple presentation and the whipped butter, but the bread was very hard and difficultly crunchy on the crust, and a little squishy on the inside. Despite this I had 2 pieces… Onto dessert. I found the short dessert menu to be simple and I wasn’t overwhelmed with what to choose. A few were $10, one 14. Not overpriced by any means. I ordered the crème brûlée (a classic that I have never had before) and my mother the vegan (see a pattern?) chocolate red velvet cake. The crème brûlée was to die for. genuinely, I would die for that crème brûlée. I enjoyed the presentation of the blueberries and I felt it was perfectly sized for a dessert. The custard underneath was still cold so condensation formed on the outside! The vegan chocolate cake was also phenomenal. I have no idea how they did it without milk, I’m usually not a big fan of buttercream but the frosting on this was so rich and tangy (a bit tart) I could not resist stealing a couple bites. An amazing dining experience overall. I’m hopping to return here after my first day of 9th grade to try the summer menu! Maybe next time, I won’t be the only minor dining..

We had an amazing pizza at Brazen Open Kitchen + Bar. Good drink. I really enjoyed my side salad as well. Really cool atmosphere.

Every single dish & cocktail, every single time I visit, is delicious! Hands down the best place to eat dinner or just grab a cocktail and dessert, in or around Dubuque. Cannot recommend this place enough!
Larissa W — Google review
Friendly atmosphere, quality ingredients. 1 star off because we ordered the salmon dish and it was basically an appetizer. 4oz piece of fish with cut up broccolini. Presentation could have been better with whole pieces of broccolini rather than chopping it up. Food tasted great. Our server Kristine was wonderful and attentive.

Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream - Dubuque- Century Dr. is a family-friendly pizza chain offering a variety of crust choices and unique Mexican-inspired pies, along with oversized sundaes. The restaurant has an old-school diner vibe with vintage games, making it a great spot for families. Customers rave about the delicious pizzas like BLT, NACHO, and TACO PIZZA, as well as the ice cream specials such as root beer floats and ice cream sodas.
My family and I have been to a couple of Happy Joe’s in Dubuque, but it had been several years since our last visit. While we were driving through the area, we decided to stop for lunch. Of the locations we’ve been to, this is our favorite. We like the atmosphere and the general look, like a bit of a carnival feel. It’s fun, and frequently during your meal, you’ll hear a honking noise, which we’ve come to learn means someone is celebrating a birthday. And often, the other patrons join in signing a round of “Happy Birthday!” The pizza is good with plenty of toppings. We ordered the lunch special, which includes a personal pizza and a soft drink, for $8. The great benefit is that you can order the pizza any way you want, so load up! Service is fairly quick, and the lunch crowd didn’t seem overly packed, so we had plenty of space to sit. The parking lot is large, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a space. They ask for cash, but I do believe they accept credit and debit cards. If I heard right, it’s an extra $1 to pay that way. We’ve also had sandwiches there in the past, and some of those show up as a daily lunch special, which features something different Monday through Friday. At the front of the restaurant, they also offer some ice cream and candy in case you need to fill in the space around your pizza after dinner. If you’ve never been to a Happy Joe’s, I’d suggest checking it out. And if you’re in Dubuque, see if you can stop by this location.

5/5. The food was delicious. We got the pan style and cheesy breadsticks. It took a little while for the pizza to get out but the manager was so kind and checked on us (we didn’t care, pizza is worth the wait). If you want fast go to somewhere gross like little caesers. *Real* pizza people know a good pizza joint when they see one. I loved the food! Wish there was one closer to us :) would absolutely recommend.

The pizza was absolutely delicious. The kids went up to watch them make some pizzas through a window to the kitchen and got a kick out of it! Once the cooks were done, one of them was doing jokes/mime stuff with the kids through the glass. It was so wholesome and the kids absolutely loved it! If we return to Dubuque for any reason we will likely return here for lunch as it was all around an awesome and delicious experience!

Nice little Happy Joes with a very friendly staff. We arrived well after the lunch rush, but noticed they seemed to get a steady carry out business. Our pizzas were made as ordered and we both commented that the toppings were generously added, which I found refreshing for a change. It seems many places are cutting back these days (understandable with the way food prices are going up).

This place is great. Took me back in time with the decor. I had cheese stix they were good wish the dough was a little thicker. Then I tried the wings bone in of course only wing to eat, anyway for baked wings they are good and usually don’t like baked wings. Then I had a little joe with pepperoni and mushrooms, it was the perfect size since I’m watching how much I eat now. Nice crispy bottom could have used a little more cheese though. Waitress was very nice and explained everything. Overall if you get a chance to come here don’t hesitate it’s good and takes you back to the 80s.

I had to drive to Dubuque, 2 hours away from where I live. It was the closest place where I could find a part I needed for my vehicle. When looking at the map, I just saw this place nearby and I thought, I have got to try that! My name is Joe so I thought that's cool. Then when I saw the pictures on the reviews, there's something called the "Taco Joe". I happen to work at Taco Bell and one of my nicknames is Taco Joe. I thought, no way! I need to go here if for no other reason than to get pictures to show my boss. . We got a Taco Joe pizza and a couple of drinks. The pizza was absolutely the best I probably have ever had as far as taco pizza is concerned. It was so delicious! The gentleman who took my order was super friendly and helpful, answered a few questions I had since it was my first time there. My girlfriend and I very much enjoyed the meal. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. High energy, just a fun, friendly feeling in the air. Apparently it's kind of a family/kids type place. Twice while we were there, birthdays were announced and the entire restaurant was asked to sing happy birthday to the birthday people. The first was a young guy, maybe late teens or early 20s, the second was a 4 year old girl. Their respective waitresses tooted loud horns to get our attention and made the announcement and request to sing, and most of us did. It was pretty fun! The men's room was very clean. I didn't have my 2 year old granddaughter with me this day, but it was nice to see that if I had, and she needed a diaper change, there is a changing station in the men's room. That's becoming more common overall, but many independent restaurants like this one still haven't added them to men's rooms so it's always nice to see. I will definitely be coming back here again. I don't care if I have to come alone, I need to try other menu items. I said my granddaughter is 2, but technically she will be 2 in January. Perhaps I'll try talking her parents into celebrating it here. That way I can introduce this place to several more people at the same time. If not, I'll still be back. Since I've seen many replies to reviews from the restaurant folks, I know you read these. I want to say thank you so much for your friendliness, excellent food, clean facilities, and for just providing an overall amazing experience! Despite being somewhat busy the day we were here, our waitress was prompt with our food and our one drink refill. And she was friendly like everyone else. It's been a few days and my memory sucks, but I want to say her name is Angela maybe? Or something similar. I'm so sorry. Anyway, I appreciate her service despite my memory. 🙂🙂🙂

Family road trip and we found this really cool pizza and ice cream parlor! The pizzas here are amazing and super unique- BLT, NACHO, TACO PIZZA... the vibe is old school dinner and vintage games. The ice cream specials are root bear floats and ice cream soda and they are delicious! If you are ever in the Dubuque area or driving by it, stop here. Don't even think twice. Can't wait to come back here! Thank you Happy Joe! May your legacy love on!

Magoo's Pizza is a cool pizzeria with a retro interior that offers custom-made personal pizzas and salads. They use freshly made in-house dough and sauces paired with quality ingredients, ensuring a delightful dining experience. You can find them at various events such as Food Festival Fridays in Washington Park and Millwork Night Market. The pizzeria also caters to dietary preferences by offering vegan cheese options.
Great experience on a quick stop! They had vegan options and gluten free options which was great for our whole party. We sat outside and the staff even brought out some water for our pup. Would recommend anyone stop through for good pizza.

Fantastic pizza that is created as you direct the toppings you want - similar to a Subway - and then fired in the pizza oven. We each had a garden fresh side salad that was excellent and split a pizza but immediately wished we had each gotten our own pizzas. The crust was perfect. The dining area was inviting - like an old-fashioned diner with black and white tiled floors and diner style tables, but modernized and very clean. The staff were friendly and efficient and we were surprised at how quickly our food arrived. We will be back when we are in the area!

We came out to Pleasant Hill to try Magoo’s Pizza Food Truck and it was nothing short of AWESOME! Love the concept of their work- quality pizzas, handmade, personal sizes, made to order! I mean, come on! We stopped by to consider Magoo to cater our wedding and right now, they are a top contender! Hope to see them again! Edited... Magoo’s Pizza Truck was such a fun and memorable part of our wedding day! The food was absolutely delicious—our guests loved the variety and flavor, and the buffet-style setup made it easy and relaxed. Their Greek pizza with vegan cheese was a standout, and every option they served was fresh, hot, and satisfying. While communication could’ve been a bit smoother leading up to the big day, they were attentive when it really counted. Their team arrived on time, set up seamlessly, and were friendly and professional throughout the event. They made sure everything flowed effortlessly and kept our guests well-fed and happy. We’re so glad we chose Magoo’s for our wedding. Their food and service brought great energy to the day, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other couples looking for a fun, flavorful catering option!

Stopped in while on vacation. Super flavorful pizza! The garlicky smell from the street as we were walking in was divine! The crust has small, crispy bubbles and the topping selection offered good variety for custom pies. Wish there was a location in MN!
Brianne P — Google review
Think of it like the other chains, ala Mod's, Blaze's, etc, in the fast casual fully customizable pizza. Wanted to give it my fair try to the local take. Price wise, it is a tad cheaper, but they're all good value honestly. Had a few less toppings available compared to it's chain restaurant competition. I think you get a similar amount of toppings too. I didn't think their sauces (marinara and Alfredo I tried) were quite as pungent, but decent enough to do the trick. Their ranch was lackluster, but better than bottled. Crust is thin, but didn't get as crispy as I'd hoped. I think there's not much room for error between undercooked and burnt, but I wish it was more cooked rather than less. Toppings were all about average, but I appreciated the ones that were more diced up so they could be in more bites. I enjoyed the pizza as a whole, but wouldn't write home about it. But I enjoyed supporting the local business, and the customer service was quite good. Vibe of the restaurant is a bit plain, but accommodating. Just doesn't add to it so to speak. Still a lot cheaper than most pizza places and the customization is still excellent, just a few things they missed on that could have really elevated them over their competition. Would recommend solidly.

Not sure where the hate comes from. Pizza is great and everyone was really nice. I had a pick up order and three staff members made sure I was helped. I do agree the large is smaller then you think, but they load it with topping and was worth the price in our eyes.

Big menu. Decent food, decent prices. They are short staffed so be understanding about the service. Customers are to order food and drinks at the bar. Outside patio is large and very well done. Pizza was very good. Menu items pictured is a half & half of pepperoni and Supreme. The other menu item is half Taco and half Canadian bacon and Kraut.

Each time we give Town Clock a chance we are always reminded why this isn’t our go to. The customer service at this restaurant is unfortunately subpar. You feel as though you’re an inconvenience coming to spend money in their establishment. The pizza is wonderful if you can look beyond the lack of care for the customer.
Kristin B — Google review
We ordered a keto pizza. It’s available with olive oil or sauce. Sat outside. Large overhang so no sunset in your eyes. Well marked self serve. You order drinks and food at bar then they bring food to your table. Ordered 2 side salads. Very ample side salad with great seasoning on croutons and lots of cheese. We trashed our keto experience by ordering beer though. Many beers on tap. Wine selection appears to only be those little bottles. Will come for pizza, salad and a beer again. Two of us ate it all

The remodeled restaurant over in peosta is really nice. Pizza was good, not my favorite but still good. I'm not a fan of the ordering style where you have to stand up and wait in line to order both food and drinks, then go back to your seat and wait, definitely not ideal when taking a toddler to dinner. Hopefully they figure that out because the atmosphere is great and there's a really good view of farmland from the outdoor seating.

We always have a great time at Pizza Ranch! All the kids beg us to go frequently. Always nice selection on the buffet. Hot and fresh! Lots of seating. Arcade is nice and has options for games.

They normally have the best fried chicken in town. The hardest part of picking up chicken is the wonderful smell in the car makes it hard to wait to get home. Monday they mist of had a new cook. No great smell in the car. The chicken was overcooked. It was good. But it is normally excellent!
Glenn L — Google review
I'm struggling with this review of our experience tonight. First of all, my kids did enjoy themselves and all in all we had a good time. I would love to visit again and sincerely hope that some of the things I mention will be addressed. This place has so much potential. There are only 2 other places in Dubuque that I am aware of that have a game area like this and one has those foam pits that are disgusting where we always end up sick within a day of visiting and the other is in a hotel and has no food or anything so I would really love to see this place become a little better. There were 4 adults and 2 kids (8 and 12) and we paid almost $100 for the buffet and drinks (and an additional $50 on game cards). For what you get, I'd definitely say that's on the high side, though if there were a few improvements (see below) I don't think I'd be as upset at the price. I'd suggest offering "packages" that bundle play time for a cheaper price when bought together with the buffet. Also, for new comers, more sinage or communication on how it works, pay at register, sit anywhere, always use new plate etc. I didn't notice anything like this and felt very frustrated trying to figure it out on my own. Doesn't help that I encountered nothing but employees who would rather have their nails pulled out with pliers than be at work and they were very obviously bothered by the fact that I would ask anything of them. That brings me to my next issue, this place was just gross. The floors were covered in food that had been ground into the floors. I've worked in food service, there is no excuse for this, EVER! Also, so much deffered maintenance on the building and facilities. Not sure if they own or rent, but broken toilets, leaking vents, looks like it hasn't been painted in years. The food, what we ate was actually really good! I loved the selection offered pizza, pasta, fried chicken with sides and a small salad bar, which would be plenty except I didn't even get to try the pasta salads or whatever they were because they were empty on the salad bar all 3 times I checked. Also, the ice cream bar is always my favorite at a buffet, but it was nothing but vanilla soft serve and a cup. No chocolate, no cones, and no toppings. This could very easily be upgraded with one of those gallon jugs of chocolate syrup with a pump and a few toppings, sprinkles, or something, anything to upgrade dessert a little. Lastly, the big draw for us was the arcade and there were 9 machines out of order and the card filler was out of order as well. The young lady at the desk was missing half the time, very impatient with some of the kids struggling to pick their prizes (which should be the fun part). She kept disappearing and when she was there was sitting down and on her phone. She didn't greet anyone who walked up just stood there staring at us, I had to ask her if she was ready to help us. Very unprofessional and unpleasant. This place seems to be run by an absentee owner and a manager who just doesn't care. It could be so much better. Too bad corporate isn't more involved, it really reflects badly.
Katie E — Google review
I’ve only been to a few pizza ranches. This one does not have the variety on their hot meal bar like other pizza ranches do. I didn’t see any soup nor pasta. A bunch of fried chicken and chicken wings, some mashed potatoes and gravy and green beanswas offered only. Salad bar did not have their specialty salad only two different greens. If I’m gonna pay full price like I do at other pizza ranch i’d rather go to one that I know that is going to offer more variety. I also bought a fun card and I played the spinner wheel that gives you tickets of different amounts. I landed on 40 tickets and it only credited my card 10 I had to go find a staff member to upload my card correctly.
Margaret Z — Google review
Our family was looking for a late bite while out of town and hoped to get in before the closed. Even though they were schedule to close soon, the food was still of excellent quality and there were plenty of choices. The staff even brewed some extra coffee to go with their dessert options. We were thoroughly impressed!
Joe T — Google review
Paid and then couldn't bring myself to eat even a whole plate of food. My boyfriend and I were here Saturday afternoon about 5 to eat. We paid then went to use the bathrooms before we ate. I got into the women's bathroom and both stalls were full. A employee entered and was waiting for a open stall as well I assumed. The smaller stall door opened and out came a employee they walked right out the door without washing their hands, the other employee standing in there must have been waiting for their friend cause they left too with the first employee without washing their hands neither. I used the bathroom and went out and got a plate of food. I watched both of the girls walk around touching food picking up tables talking and couldn't even bring myself to eat all my food. So we left the plates on table and left disgusted
Tresa S — Google review
The arcade has more to offer than the actual buffet. Whoever owns this business account needs to update their HOOP on Google. Visited yesterday (5/17), the gal on register and another lady were very nice. Unfortunately, our party of 9 had our plates cleared maybe twice.
Shace Z — Google review
Updated Feb 2020: Still a great place to eat. Everything was perfect. Great Family Food The price is right, the food is great, and there's a nice family atmosphere. We have made four visits in the last month or so. Every time, we have enjoyed ourselves. I really like their chicken! One of the servers even has a T-shirt with the phrase, "we could have called it the 'Chicken Ranch.'" I've thought of the menu having kid's favorites, of pizza, chicken Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and ice cream. But, I love it too! It's all buffet, so you won't go away hungry. And if you want a special pizza, they will make that too. Come and enjoy!

Customers praise the homemade sausage and beer/butter crust that resembles those from famous pizzerias in Chicago and Davenport. The lunch special of two slices and a soda for $7.50 is highly recommended. The service is efficient, with some customers praising the accommodating staff for special orders.

This is a gas station that has a godfather in it, which to me is just not a good thing. Godfathers used to be the pizza spot to be at. They had great pizza crust all the topping and just plain ole good pizza. This place can sometimes be filthy, and you want me to come and buy your pizza, with the ook not wearing any glove or hair net, I think not. Consistently terrible food. My wife keeps ordering from here and I keep grilling hot dogs. I'd rather eat from anywhere else in town than this place. Soggy crust, toppings uncooked, like they just walked past the oven with it and put it in the box. Gas station pizza is better. Any gas station. This is the worst domino's pizza in existence.

I order a thin crust pie cut pizza. They made a error, very rude employee when I called to have them make it right. I emailed them. The manager asked if they could win back my business with $20 credit. The manager express how sorry they were. About a week later (today) I order same pizza and asked for pie cut once again it's not and was all scrambled, the pizza slice pieces were all upside down what a mess. I am so disappointed in Domino's. It's a slap in the face receiving pizza this way and after the manager said the problem would be corrected.

Unrelated to the food! I'm a busy mom of 4 who was there visiting Grand Harbor, when I left my wallet at this Domino's! They not only helped me get it back by keeping safe, they mailed it an hour away to where we live! The pizza we got was for my kiddo on her birthday and she had zero complaints, was very good and the people are obviously GREAT! We will return!

Walked in and was yelled at and treated aggressively by a manager that he wasn't taking any orders, the one with a shaved head and glasses, not the first time being mistreated by this manager, piss poor management and service
Emil — Google review
They close at 2am but stop taking orders at 10pm I'm so confused. Horrible

I usually pick up at this location because the atmosphere has a great vibe. All of the employees working have high energy and great attitudes. It's obvious they are working together and making the work fun. I always love going in and seeing the employees give off such great energy while they make tasty pizza!

The Papa Murphy's pizza restaurant offers build-you-own takeaway pizzas that can be cooked at home. The team was hustling today with all the Halloween orders! Still in and out fast!
September 19th, we got pies to feed the family, Tuesdays are the day to get a great pie for a reasonable price plus the wife signed up for a papa Murphy account and got a free pie👍😋

Well, two kids who appeared to be the same ages as a couple of my grandkids were in attendance and I have to say they didn't go out of their way to impress me. But I found what I wanted easily and quickly, as I was the only customer in the store at that time of day on a Wed evening. I tried to engage in conversation with either of them, and hit a wall of disinterest. But, okay, maybe mopping the floor before closing time will prove to be the highlight of their shift.

Easy to enter the location. Quick and accurate orders, even when a substitute item is added. The quality of the pizza never disappoints!!

Everything was as promised. So amazing that they have the dairy free cheese and gluten free crust for my family members that have those restrictions.
