There is much to absorb and appreciate, rendering it an enjoyable experience. The attraction is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. A return visit is definitely warranted.

Third time visiting and it definitely won’t be the last! This place has become a must stop every time I’m passing through Dubuque. They’re even working on a new otter enclosure, which looks like it’s going to be a great addition. The history of the steamboats and the river is genuinely fascinating, and getting to explore the actual steamboats and the various rooms inside them is such a cool experience. The indoor exhibits are perfect for kids too tons of hands on activities like microscopes and interactive displays to keep them engaged. Highly recommend for families or anyone curious about river!

We visited this place several times before and this time we went to the dinosaur exhibition on the second floor! Huge blast for our son who is adoring dinosaurs. Quality of all models is excellent and displays look fabulous. If you still thinking about going or not you are absolutely necessary need to go! For general admission you will have to experiences at once. ! Dinosaurs exhibition is open til September 14 !

The museum and staff far exceeded our expectations! Exhibits were interesting and insightful, and the fish/animals in aquarium settings are well cared for and so fun to watch! My son (4yo), myself (30+), and my dad (70+) all had a fantastic time!

I've been through A LOT of aquariums. This might be one of the best. Not necessarily because of the aquarium part but the whole museum is large and interesting. There's a large part outside with riverboats, two museums, part history museum and art museum. You really could spend half a day here.

I really enjoyed my visit, and I would highly recommend it for families with children. There are lots of interactive displays and staff members doing live talks and demonstrations throughout. The shipyard was a highlight, as was being able to board the old ships. Lots of empty cages in the shipyard, so not sure if the birds were taken inside for the winter.

My grand daughters age 14, 10, & 9 all loved it. Viewing the exhibits and exploring the boats were so much fun. Loved the animal interaction areas and the water control play area.

A lot of games are tight, even the bonus games. Very smokey. The ATM are old. You can not see the numbers on the pad. Staff seem friendly, and the drinks are not priced badly

A couple of friends and I go to bet on college basketball and nfl football. The atmosphere is great and drinks are reasonable. It's always clean, especially the bathrooms. We have gone several years in a row and will continue into the future.

I've been here 3 times and had great time all 3 visits. After my first visit I received everything I lost that first night ($120) back in the form of 2 $60 Freeplay vouchers. Plenty of games, plenty of parking. Clean, smells good .

Very smokey, slot machine with ashes all over. Took 15 minutes to get 2 beers at the bar. It wasn't that busy. I had a plastic bottle of water with me and an employee told me I had to get rid of it as it was not allowed. None of the casinos in Mn,Wi and Mi have never scolded me. My party won't go here again. Went to the Q. I read in some of owner comments that air quality is very important to them. If that were the case, they could have made the casino smoke free after covid like most casino's.

Really Smokey and the machines don't pay out very tight Pit Bosses were rude and the dealers had no personality. Everywhere you look somebody was wiping down or cleaning something down on the slot machines and then everybody pulls out the chairs at midnight and you got to walk around them all while you're cleaning the joint and I couldn't get a decent steak cuz it wasn't open. I don't think I'll ever be back but that's all good not much for Dubuque Iowa anyway. And you need to get a new printer for your players cards because it took them 15 minutes to get my new players card which doesn't work in any of the machines anyway it kept kicking me out with a red light instead of keeping me logged in and I'm a first-timer and you don't give any free play or any perks or any discounts not too impressed

Drove 45 minutes saying their tables are open until 3:00am. Not true at all. Personal working still tables were open. Walk in and not a table alive. Showed up well before their time limit and was left with I’m sorry. Would recommend the Q every time. Extremely disappointed. Even after exploring, limited options poor payouts from a 7 man group.

Machines were broken, buttons didn't work or slots would error out for void plays. Lots of areas were closed or blocked off. The place was disgusting, bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned and smelled horrible. The only saving grace for this place was the nice lady in filament who busted her toosh working the bar and getting walkin orders. She was super nice and very attentive. For a boyd casino I expected a higher caliber of operations, but Diamond Jo feel extremely short.

We are from the suburbs of Chicago and this was our first time in Dubuque. It was a Friday night and we loved the artistic and rustic feel of the Mill district as we walked toward the restaurant. The restaurant is small but warm. Our server was spot on with her timing. Drinks were wonderfully crafted and the food was unique and delicious. The chef obviously takes pride in their selections of locally sourced fresh ingredients and presenting them with visually satisfying appeal. They tasted delicious as well albeit a touch on the salty side but that may be my personal aversion. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and it put us in a great mood to enjoy the rest of our stay.

Cocktail Review Both cocktails I had were absolutely delicious and showcased creativity and balance. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and felt genuinely cared for throughout the evening. The dinner itself was nothing short of amazing. We had the ribeye, which was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The ½ Amish chicken was equally impressive, so delectable that every bite left us wanting more. You could tell the kitchen takes pride in every detail, from the freshness of the ingredients to the balance of the menu. What truly set the evening apart, though, was the staff. They were not only professional and efficient but also tentative in the best way—anticipating our needs without hovering and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. I could be biased since I’m very poor, and it was my first time ever ordering at a restaurant with a menu item over $30 except family-size combo meals in drive thrus..but this is the best food I have ever tasted. I accompanied my mother here for my 8th grade graduation, and browsing the menus online I originally thought the menu changed seasonally…and it does, but the items also change regularly. Originally for the spring menu I found online, my mother was interested in the bucatini (sort of Thai dish with peanut sauce) and I was going to order the gnocchi (which had an edible flower in it that sounded intriguing) But when we sat down, there was no gnocchi and the bucatini was completely different! I embraced this change well and I actually really enjoy it, because now I was pushed to broaden my ideas and order a different item than “planned”. This helped me loosen my grip on always planning things when going out to a sit-in restaurant and instead I could accept just going with it. The service was amazing. We were greeted (even welcomed) within a couple minutes of sitting down and asked of any dietary restrictions. We did not end up ordering any drinks (I am 14, my mother’s not too big on alcohol, and each drink was $7 for non-alcoholic) So I ordered the salmon (medium well because I’m a wuss) and my mother ordered the “vegan” since she’s a vegetarian.. The salmon was amazing. I don’t know if it’s because I ordered medium well but it had some crisp on the outside, which basically melted in your mouth. The sauce underneath was surprising upon first bite, pretty lemony and a little creamy. I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t know what vegetables were underneath aside from dill which I’m sure of, it looked like an asparagus head, cubed potato pieces, and one other thing I’m a bit unsure of. I enjoyed the caviar (as my first time having caviar) and I found it to be buttery (???) but also a bit bitter. I had a couple bites of my mom’s vegan order (it was gigantic compared to mine) and it was great. Large pieces of crispy tofu(?) in an ocean of this nice almost tangy tomato-based sauce with other greens, some dill and large beans. I do want to note that the complimentary bread and butter was interesting, I really enjoyed the simple presentation and the whipped butter, but the bread was very hard and difficultly crunchy on the crust, and a little squishy on the inside. Despite this I had 2 pieces… Onto dessert. I found the short dessert menu to be simple and I wasn’t overwhelmed with what to choose. A few were $10, one 14. Not overpriced by any means. I ordered the crème brûlée (a classic that I have never had before) and my mother the vegan (see a pattern?) chocolate red velvet cake. The crème brûlée was to die for. genuinely, I would die for that crème brûlée. I enjoyed the presentation of the blueberries and I felt it was perfectly sized for a dessert. The custard underneath was still cold so condensation formed on the outside! The vegan chocolate cake was also phenomenal. I have no idea how they did it without milk, I’m usually not a big fan of buttercream but the frosting on this was so rich and tangy (a bit tart) I could not resist stealing a couple bites. An amazing dining experience overall. I’m hopping to return here after my first day of 9th grade to try the summer menu! Maybe next time, I won’t be the only minor dining..

We had an amazing pizza at Brazen Open Kitchen + Bar. Good drink. I really enjoyed my side salad as well. Really cool atmosphere.

Every single dish & cocktail, every single time I visit, is delicious! Hands down the best place to eat dinner or just grab a cocktail and dessert, in or around Dubuque. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Friendly atmosphere, quality ingredients. 1 star off because we ordered the salmon dish and it was basically an appetizer. 4oz piece of fish with cut up broccolini. Presentation could have been better with whole pieces of broccolini rather than chopping it up. Food tasted great. Our server Kristine was wonderful and attentive.

Located on Main Street, this is a cozy brick‑walled bistro offering seasonal dishes and an excellent wine list. I tried lamb chops and the beef short rib ravioli — beautifully plated and deeply flavorful. Service felt upscale and welcoming. Perfect for date nights or refined dinners.

I haven’t been to Dubuque in quite a few years and was pleasantly surprised to see that The Pepper Sprout is still there. I’ve eaten there in the past and it was wonderful and nothing has changed. We started with a drink at the bar and enjoyed some fun conversation with other guests and then enjoyed another well prepared meal under the supervision of Chef Kim. Her love and passion are very apparent with her restaurant. Our entrees included meatloaf for my wife which she enjoyed and I chose the pork porterhouse. The tenderloin side was nice and tender while the other side may have been a chewier than my liking. The bourbon sauce with my chop was amazing. All in all, go and enjoy a fine dining experience at The Pepper Sprout, you won’t be disappointed.

All around great experience! Warm pleasant vibe, attentive friendly staff, absolutely delicious meatloaf! Wow! Chef Kim Wolff impresses and I appreciated the short chat before dessert. A great family dinner.

The cook and owner here (Kim?) has some real skills! My brother and I loved our food, cocktails, and Tempranillo. I’ve eaten in many Michelin star restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. What a great place for Dubuque!

We had the most wonderful experience at Pepper Sprout! On their summer menu we enjoyed the Dip into Summer appetizer which was garlic forward and came with delicious fresh soft pretzel sticks. The spicy garlic Caesar salad was incredible! For our entrees we had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Shrimp and Scallops. We ended up sharing both. It was some of the best food I have ever eaten! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxing at the same time. Very highly recommend.

We came from Chicago and knew we had to come here again after experiencing it in the Spring. This visit did not disappoint. Marissa was our waitress and she was just amazing. Our waitress Fiona from the last visit also remembered us and I think this is what makes this restaurant stand out. They are incredibly personable, welcoming, and just an all around enjoyment to be around. Kim the owner met our table in the Spring and the chef came and visited our table this visit after we requested a full fig cheesecake. The food is indulgent and keeps you coming back. I always have leftovers and my plate was cleaned up quickly tonight. Thank you for such an amazing experience. Will be making this a must EVERY time we come into town.

Very good food and drink. The food was delicious and interesting with large portions. Prices were very reasonable making the meal a very good value. Our server was above average and the dining room was updated. I wish I lived here so I could visit more often. It would definitely be a go to place if I lived in Dubuque.

My husband and I came here as the casino invited us to have a meal on them. They made our reservation for us and had it all setup for us when we got there. Our server was Jaymie and she was phenomenal!!!! One of the best servers we have ever had and we have been to a lot of different restaurants, steakhouses etc in the almost 12 years we have been together. The food was excellent. Perfectly cooked as we ordered it and was fresh, hot and delicious. The atmosphere here is great. They have fires going in different areas and the restaurant is spacious with the seating spread out. We will definitely be back here in the future!!!!

First time here; the look inside was not as fancy looking as the food was - if that makes sense. The service was pretty good, we had to send back one steak cause it was not cooked properly and had fat on it which isn’t what you want on a filet. The salads were amazing! The steak was good but lacked a in flavor. The apple crumble was pretty good tasted like cobbler almost with ice cream on top. I don’t think it was worth the price… the salad was worth $12.

Treated a friend to this. He had the Tomahawk Ribeye with asparagus and I had the porterhouse steak with steamed broccoli (special order). When our meals arrived, mine came with asparagus, which I gave to my friend. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Fire is the theme. Constant propane fire. Central fireplace and along the bottom of all the window. When we came, it was shortly after they opened so few guests were there. We had a nice experience.

We had a great dinner here! Service was excellent! They were friendly and attentive. The steaks were quite delicious as were the sides. The loaded baked potato was amazing! The wine list is decent.

Steak quality is poor .I have eaten there three times on three different days and the steaks were extremely tough. The side dishes were great.I have eaten at other restaurants and have had nice tender piece of meat for the same price. Not sure who their meat supplier is but they buy poor quality meat. Extremely disappointed. Otherwise all else was excellent!

We visited for the weekend from Chicago and chose this restaurant for dinner — and what a great decision it was! I can confidently say that this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in both the US and Europe. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. Mines of Spain State Recreation Area near Dubuque, Iowa boasts a rich history and natural beauty. This location was once used for lead mining and is now a National Historic Landmark with village sites, rock shelters, and trading post locations scattered throughout the landscape. The Julien Dubuque Monument, dedicated to the first European settler in the area, provides a great view of the Mississippi River and serves as a landmark for the park. Visitors can explore the area through a variety of trails and learn about the state's history at the E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center. In addition, programs are offered throughout the year and special arrangements can be made with the park staff. Park offers 15.1 miles of trails for hiking or biking. These trails showcase the park's beauty by providing views of towering limestone bluffs and scenic vistas. The American State Park Woodland Walk at the interpretive center explores the history of different trees and the Horseshoe Bluff trail and the John and Alice Butler trail are ADA accessible. This is a great location for hunting enthusiasts as it is a wildlife management area that allows trapping and archery hunting in all seasons. Limited firearm hunting for deer and spring turkey is allowed south of Catfish Creek. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic at various locations throughout the park, including the E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center, the Julien Dubuque Monument, and the Horseshoe Bluff Area. Enjoy your activities!

A beautiful park for a hike! The trail we chose was not too difficult but had nice scenery. We'd love to come back to explore further soon.

Walked the 6 mile Eagle Scout loop this morning. It was well maintained 2-track. The grassy portions were mowed. Mid-August morning and no mosquitoes. Beautiful scenery.

A Dubuque must-see (more like must-experience) for the nature lovers, fitness-minded, exploratory, history buffs, and the bring the kids, too! Walking trails, barbeque pits, an educational center, canoe launch, decent fishing... All easily accessible. What are you waiting for? Get off your duffs and go see it!

Just a bar. If you expected wine tasting experience - this is not a right place to go. No stories behind the wine, small place, serving just wine, no options to pair with cheese, fruits, meats, etc. Historical building with some old machinery. Maybe good at night with live bands. But at day time is a place to stop by for 10 minutes.

My pictures don’t do this place justice. The historic decor is excellent. We had excellent service and we really liked the wine and beer selection. A good stop.

This review is solely based off of the wine and the petite for dessert. Good selection of wine for those that like sweet and dry. Servers are very friendly. If you’re in the area this place is worth a stop.

Had such a fun Friday night here listening to live music & enjoying a wine flight. We ordered a gluten free pizza which was great! Love that they had allergen friendly options. The wines were a tad too sweet for my personal taste, but my partner loved all of the wines in our flight! The ambiance was great- only recommendation would be to have a better organized process for ordering and closing out, but that is an easy fix! Loved it.

This place is just off the River Path. Lots of great things to drink and eat. Live music when we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Flights of wine and beer. Nice place to sit outside to chat.

This is our favorite winery and is always a stop when we visit anywhere close enough to drop in. They are generally pretty busy and today was no exception. It was a super hot afternoon and they were hosting a wedding at their even location located close by. The servers still did their best to accommodate us and we forgave them for the time it took to get our drinks based upon the number of people there. The wine as usual was delicious and affordably priced when we purchased several bottles before leaving.. Many wines to choose from guaranteed to satisfy any palette you may have.

Typical winery and craft brewery experience. Chances are very good that they’ll have something on the menu that you’ll enjoy. Located in a beautifully well preserved old building right next to the river walk, in case you feel like taking a short stroll.

We stopped in for some drinks at the bar and had great service from the bar tender. Wide variety of beers and it’s great to see stouts on tap in late spring! If you like craft beer it’s worth the stop.

This is a laid-back restaurant with a varied menu, an excellent on-tap beer selection and cocktails and specialty drinks.The food is tasty. As a vegatarian, I appreciate that you can replace any burger from the menu with a plant-based option. The menu can and has changed. My last visit I got a salad and I asked for no onions, but the chopped onions were throughout the salad (it was miserable picking them out), so if you don't like onions and order a salad, I recommend making sure they won't bring a salad littered with onions.

Your staff didn’t know it, but they were pivotal in making a very important night extra special. My boyfriend and I wanted to make my dog’s last meal extra special. We had to let her go due to a medical issue. We ordered our drinks and a dog bowl of water came out on the same tray. So sweet. We were the only ones on the patio, but our waitress came frequently to check on us. We ordered her a bowl of brisket and she absolutely loved it (picture attached). Thank you so much for making us feel welcomed. We will never forget it.

Table sitting was family style/picnic style. They also had the option of individual tables but I don’t think they had many of them. Overall the experience was great. Parking was meter/street parking. I don’t remember seeing a parking lot. It was all just downtown. Service was great and really accommodating and so was the atmosphere. The bathrooms were so clean. They had some merch and you could buy a six pack of the beers you liked best to take home. Now for food, my boyfriend and I started with cheese curds and pretzel bites. The cheese curbs were square blocks and served with a raspberry sauce. That was unique and pretty good. It reminded me of cheese and fruit. So good. And the pretzel bites were warm and soft on the inside, I will say I didn’t like how much butter was put on them. It was a lot of butter but the cheese sauce served with them was also really good. The main course we split a YellowStone burger and it was really good. The brisket on it was solid and the burger meat well seasoned not overcooked and a good size. It wasn’t a monster burger. We had ours with regular fries, which weren’t house made but still good and a very large portion. Dessert we had a Carmel brownie cheesecake and it was just okay. It was dense, sweet, very rich. I probably wouldn’t get it again.

A great brewery with awesome food and even better beer. I had the pulled pork sandwich and a flight of local brews. The vibe is industrial, modern, and fun — perfect for groups or casual hangouts. They also host trivia nights and events. Highly recommend!

We were in town and stopped in for dinner and it was delicious! We ordered the fried pickles and we both had different smashed burgers. Everything was so good! Our server was very attentive and friendly. We had a great experience and will definitely be back when we are in town!

Absolutely loved this brewery! Decided to go big and got The Big D flight! Got to try whole beer menu! It was great! Atmosphere was laid-back. Staff was friendly. Also had small menu of food to order as well. Definitely going to come back whenever we are in town. Highly recommend for beer lovers!

This review is for beer only. We stopped in after having lunch elsewhere and the weather was nice enough that they had the overhead doors open. There was no servers during our visit so all drinks had to be ordered from the bar. The beers were good and they had a nice variety of styles. I would recommend a stop if you enjoy craft beer.

Lovely building. Tasty beers. Enjoyed a brown ale ‘Builder the Bob’. Always hesitant to drink a brown ale, have been disappointed so many times classifying a brown ale as brown water. Builder the Bob was so much more, malty, nice toffee flavor, solid. Thank you Dimensional Brewing

I really love the beers here. However, their sour beers are extremely fruit forward. If you are looking for more of a goze sourness, that's not what you're looking for. Still, they are delicious. Like drinking alcohol fruit. I also had the 'have a catch' hazy IPA and that was also very good. But probably the least hoppy IPA I have ever had. Billy and Mike were awesome bartenders. We really enjoyed our visit here.

I love this place. I’m a huge fan of sours and this place delivers every time. I’m from Chicagoland and it’s worth every minute of the 3 hour drive. Try the Smoothie Style Sours. They look kinda scary, but are so good.

The food is REMARKABLE, like I was really surprised at how good the brisket was. The mustard bbq sauce was a perfect compliment. The loaded fries with the blackened chicken was just out of this world good. I could eat three baskets of those!! Now, the only reason I’m giving them a 4/5 is because we both got flights of beer and some were very ehh. But, Whoa Yeah sour is amazing and would come back just for that. Highly suggest if ever in Dubuque.

Dimensional Brewing Company has a great downtown Dubuque City vibe. They have awesome IPA beers I grabbed a flight to try all 4 IPA beers and was disappointed all very tasty. The establishment has friendly people working there. They had the garage doors open so it was like sitting outside. Very limited menu for food. Wonderful place to hit up for a beer when in Dubuque.

Awesome place, worth the visit, we came here after spending one night in Galena, IL which is just 20min away from Dubuque. We visited by the end of March, the parking lot was closed but we hiked all the way up to the park which is just a short and easy hike, there were just a couple of people walking around, the best part was that we had the chance to see 2 beautiful and impressive bald eagles flying from the trees in the park and going along the river, as well as pelicans, woodpeckers and so many other birds. Great visit.

This park is worth a visit anytime I'm in the area. Amazing views, eagles, and the woods are filled with the happiest songbirds. Today it seemed like dozens of Orioles flying amongst the many large trees here. I enjoy watching the river flow downstream, hearing its power over the dam. I'm going to have to have a picnic here someday soon. I swear I've seen some of this park in my dreams, I guess that tells you how magical it is.

One of my favorite parks in the world. Not kidding. What a wonderful gem overlooking the Great Mississippi and the Lock and Dam. Views of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Gorgeous!! Well maintained with very nice shelters and picnic areas.

Huge, beautiful park with many areas to hold events, many playgrounds, and gorgeous views of the Mississippi. Entrance was only $1.

This site stated dogs were allowed so we came with a well behaved Golden and the guy taking money at the gate said dogs were not allowed to get out of the car so we just drove through it Not dog friendly here.

Described as "The world's steepest, shortest scenic railway". The incline was originally constructed in 1882 and ten years was charging a small fee to transport workers 189 feet from their homes to where they worked below. It still is in operation and provides a nostalgic ride with views of the Dubuque business district the Mississippi River and three states.

f you do 1 thing in Dubuque it has to be to ride this. I could have done this all day long. What a unique experience. Read up on the history too. There’s a beautiful view of downtown Dubuque and the Mississippi River from the top. And $4 for a roundtrip ride? Yes please.

Was pretty neat ride. Never knew this was here, just recently heard about it, since we were in the area, checked it out. You can get 6 adults in a trolly box. 4.00 round trip each person, killer deal! Nice steep ride up to the top, with awesome views of the city and Mississippi River. It's a must visit if in the area.

Cash only. If riding from the bottom to the top you'll pay at the top. The small line moved quickly and the ride itself isn't long. At the top you get a good view of the city. I rode in the day, but would like to come again at dusk when the city lights start coming on.

Haven’t rode the incline elevator in nearly fifty years so thought I’d give it a ride. $2 one way or $4 r/t. It’s a great way to see a scenic view of the city and well worth it in my opinion.

This was the coolest thing. I saw this online quite a few years ago and have always wanted to come. Everything worked flawlessly, clean, and the staff were very friendly.

Always a wonderful experience at the Heritage Center; regardless of what we came to enjoy! The bells were a lovely surprise at their Christmas Program this year.

Beautiful space but the venue and staff/volunteers are not overly friendly. My sister in law was told 3 separate times that she couldn’t bring the car seat in for my 9 month old nephew, after having to buy him a ticket even though he never sat in the seat on his own. No changing tables in the bathrooms. Videoed some of the performance for my mom who wasn’t able to come recovering from surgery and was scolded rudely to stop videoing. This same person also told 2 other people to stop videoing in the front row during rhe quartet’s set, which was widely distracting. The lady videoing wasn’t distracting, the staff member was. Maybe read the room on the people attending the performance and the performance itself. You can video most big name concerts, if it was a rule it should have been mentioned before the show started.

I came here to watch a comedian and overall had a great experience. The building is absolutely beautiful. The college students that were working as bouncers were kind, there was an art show set up we were free to look in. It was a well cleaned area and absolutely stunning.

This is a gorgeous facility. It's open and bright. The concerts we've chosen to attend have never disappointed. The cafe has great food and the ice cream is delicious. There is a small stage for local acts to entertain. Great staff, too.

The vibe here is so great! Very chill laid back easy going. Great vinyl selection for music. The staff here are great. The beer is meh.

From the moment I approached this place, I knew I had to try it. I was excited to see what they had in store. I came here with my significant other. We were able to choose our table, so that was cool. The atmosphere was quiet and gentle. The Food & Drink Menu was at the table. It stated to Please Make Your Choice And Order At The Bar. We walked to the bar. I started off with the Jubeck Blonde. It was a Crisp, medium-bodied, golden, mild, easy-drinking American cream ale. It was $6. From the Classic Pizzas section, we ordered a Small 9” • $10 Pepperoni. It had tomato sauce, mozzarella & parmesan. From the Specialty Pizzas section, we ordered a Small 9” Carbonara. It had Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, grilled chicken, bacon, roasted mushrooms. It was S-$15. We gave a card to open a tab. I took the Jubeck Blonde back to our table and gave it a try. It sure was crispy and a good drink to steadily sip. Speaking of crispy, the pizzas came out fast. I started with the Pepperoni. It was so good I could hardly stop. The amount of meat on the pizza sure was generous. Well, that one was going to be hard to beat, or so I thought. The Carbonara had such a precise flavor from the ingredients all masterfully blending together. I knocked out most of that pizza. Well, I got thirsty, so I went up to order the Mango Sour Guava. It was a Sour ale brewed w/ mango & guava. Fruity w/ tart & crisp finish. It was $6. I enjoyed it highly and it paired nicely with the pizzas. I went back up to order the Barnstormin’ Ale. It was a Hazy American pale ale w/ citra hops. It was $6. I thought it was smooth, especially with the citra hops flavor. The drink disappeared pretty fast. The last one I went up to order was the Lavender Honey Wheat. It was an Herbal, medium-bodied, sweet, easy drinking, aroma rich. It was $6. This one definitely had a different taste than the others. I liked it in a quirky way and it was the best one to finish off my session. The service was prompt and friendly. We were shown around in the back to see how things were done and where the front used to be. That was a cool bonus! I didn’t have any service issues. Overall, I had a great experience here. I've been by several times and become a member. Great beer, a little less expensive and a good bit more peaceful and calm than others. It has a very relaxed vibe and is clean and comfortable. I like it's just off the strip location and the staff is very cool. You should try it !!!

The space has a relaxed vibe with cool flight-themed decor, lots of plants, and a solid vinyl collection always spinning - a perfectly cozy spot to enjoy a great local beer (or kombucha if beer's not your thing). Occasional live music adds a great touch, and the pizza hits the mark. With it being located just off of Main Street, it's the perfect spot to head for after-dinner drinks. Definitely worth a stop.

My twin sister and I went here for our birthday just on a whim. We had a reservation for a restaurant in Galena and decided to cancel that reservation and stay at the brewery. The bartender was wonderful and the beer was really good. We had a pizza that was out of this world. Will definitely be back

My wife and I's favorite brewery to visit in Dubuque. It has been a few years since we had been in and we loved the new extended space! We did not get any food, but the pizzas that were coming out looked great. There's a good variety of beers on tap as well. We love that they play vinyl behind the bar. The bartenders are really on top of flipping the records too. Can't wait to come back!

Great service. Great food. Clearly a local favorite, but it was also a great bar for this out-of-towner to grab a low-key meal. I had the hand-breaded chicken strips and they were so good. My husband had the prime rib which was also excellent.

I had one of their burgers and I don't think that I ever had such a good burger before. Really juicy thick and big. I didn't ask but I bet that burger it is home made. Also the fries, I was addicted to them. I had to order two extra orders of fries. Totally recommend this place to eat.

Awesome service, with great dinner specials and don't forget, it's a bar with a kitchen so they do have their priorities in order. Sports, food and fun at a reasonable price = VALUE. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, their burgers are made from steak-trimmings from the other Kalmes restaurant in St Donatus... GET ONE!

Affordable, friendly, and great atmosphere!!! A must for anyone looking for down to earth service and great tasting food, without having to pay an arm and a leg. Definitely recommend all food, but prime rib, chicken, and black and blue burger are my favorites.

Best burger I've had in a long time if not ever. My only complaint is that it was a little crowded and so busy that it took forever to get our order taken and for our food to arrive. Prices are decent but whatever your burger costs, it's worth it. Delicious!!

I LOVE this place! Food is great and the wait staff is phenomenal. The only bad thing I can say is that it takes FOREVER to get food. If you're not in a hurry and want a fantastic burger, Kalmes is the place!

I had a mixed but overall pleasant experience at Caroline’s. The atmosphere is charming—quiet, classy, and located inside the historic Hotel Julien, which adds a nice touch of elegance. Breakfast was good. My husband enjoyed his corned beef hash (he is a connoisseur) and I enjoyed the huevos rancheros. Portions are very generous. Service was lacking, unresponsive and not attentive. All in all, Caroline’s is a solid spot for a relaxed meal, especially breakfast or brunch. Just know it can be a bit inconsistent depending on the day or the dish. I’d return, but with slightly adjusted expectations.

We have tried to get breakfast three different times. Went to use my gift card from the last mess up they did. We ordered 2 eggs Benedict with crispy hashbrowns paid over 32.00. This is what we got. Such a shame

It may not be a cheap restaurant, but the quality and taste of the dishes served are worth every penny to experience ecstasy of the palate. I don't know if every waiter is the same, but our waitress was very professional, energetic and nice. better food than in Chicago.

We enjoyed a nice birthday lunch, with everyone happy with their food choice. The old hotel ambiance is very nice, but our server Jason merits five stars on his own. He was upbeat, thoughtful, and injected humor into our visit. We are so happy we celebrated here.

5 star might be a little high, but I walked away from my dinner very impressed. My steak was flavorful and not overcooked. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I’ve had in recent memory. The Martini specials on a Thursday was a welcomed surprise that I made sure to take advantage of. My experience was much better than what’s expected at a traditional hotel restaurant.

We had a great breakfast 2 days in a row! Coffee and food was so delicious! Saturday we had Jason as a server and he was phenomenal. Attentive, fun, charismatic, served delicious food. Sunday we had Justin. He was also very good and food was delicious! Highly recommend! Well worth the trip!

A chic and warm bistro serving gourmet comfort food downtown. I tried the meatloaf and crab cakes — both were bursting with flavor and freshness. The house salad and focaccia were excellent too. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is cozy yet refined. Definitely a spot I’ll return to.

My girlfriend and I were greeted kindly, shown to our table. The table was sticky No server ever came to take our order or bring us drinks We stayed for over 20 minutes before just walking out. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life. The staff was happily engaged with themselves at the front bar area while we sat unattended - there were only four total tables of other customers ( max group size four ) so it was not busy at all the staff was just not being well managed / kept in check.

Our waitress was amazing. Her name was Chloe. She truly made this a 5 star experience. Food was exceptional and the dining space was pleasant.

Was recommended this place by my son in law. WOW, the food did not disappoint. The thin crust pizza was amazing a very large (14 in), enough for 3 people for sure. Salads were great and the brownie for dessert was crazy good. Highly recommend this place of you are in Dubuque. It's a bit pricey but portions are big and you can share

Pleasantly surprised by this gem on the river. Creole flavor was slightly different than what I'm used to, but in a good way. The food was excellent, and there were plenty of options to choose from. The kids loved the shrimp and we tried the gumbo and the jambalaya which were drastically different flavors, but both good. The rice was slightly overcooked and mushy though. Our service was good and the place was clean inside and out. No wait (eating lunch around 2pm) and had a great seat out in the patio.

Had the nicest/most attentive server on Saturday with a great/peaceful view of the water. The shrimp 🍤 was outta this world amazing as was the hot chicken, pulled pork and green 🫒 burger! Large mason drinks 🍹 were delicious as well. Food came out hot and in a timely manner. Overall 10/10.

I really enjoyed eating my meal on the patio at Catfish Charlie’s. My fried shrimp was especially good and so were the three cheese smashed potatoes. The wait staff were all very friendly and our food came out faster than I expected. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean, there was no fishy smell. This is a great seafood restaurant in the area.

This restaurant is on the water near the Hilton Hotel. It is a lovely seafood spot. Luckily, I had a table outside on a Sunday afternoon. They have a bar and drink menu. Dinner & lunch menu was full of options. Fried seafood obviously and bbq items. Mix of sandwiches and entrees. Food was good as well as the service. Nice patio area to view the dock. Have Window seating

Great location, good seating, great service, and excellent food! We had a very large order of onion rings. Also, we had the bluegill, catfish, and salmon at our table. All were very delicious.

EXCELLENT food, however, I felt the regular mac n cheese didn't have a lot of flavor to it. The smashed potatoes were FIRE and the blue gill. ribs and shrimp were spectacular!

Went out for my 21st birthday and let me say it was good.. casino overall was good and Leo was absolutely amazing!!! Very personable and very respectful but whoever the manager was on shift frank I believe. My best friend took me to the pit and he wasn’t doing anything and said hey they will make you a players card but then the guy looks at us and laughed and goes “go to the machine right over there 20 feet” and just kinda put a small sour taste in my mouth.. but overall middle experience but kudos to Leo he was great. Promote that man!

Very hard to find a machine here that actually keeps you interested. Very Smokey atmosphere.. can’t believe how many people are just chugging away at cigarettes. They need to have a little better ventilation system . Waitresses are non existent . Had to get my own drinks every time and leave the machine. The roulette table was closed all 3 days I went .

Built in the 1990s, this casino has had 6 renovations since. The most recent added even more family oriented activities, VIA an arcade and entertainment room for the kiddos and the tots, to the well structured complex. The gaming room is modestly sized, comparatively speaking, but does not disappoint. The decor dazzles and the table games are spaced apart just right. You won't fin many, if any, outdated gaming machines in this fine, reputable establishment. 4 star rating due to the poker room leaving the complex when at-work work returned after the COVID-19 remote work break. Truly a visually compelling piece of design, with time-tested architectural elements incorporated to the exterior. There was a new building being built, speculation says a premium 5 story hotel? All things said, the people behind Q do not mess around.

We were hungry so we headed to the restzurant next to the video/gaming area. A pizza sounded safe. Barbecue chicken with crunchy onions spunded like a tasty dinner. We wete so wrong. After a 30 minute wait our pizza arrived. We wete shocked! It was compldtely covered with those Durkee canned cfunchy onions! You could not see anything underneath the onions. We were very hungry so we started brushing off those onions. They came off by the handful! We filled a plate with all of those onions. Then we took a bite and foud the crust, thesauce and "chicken" bits to have no flavor. Neitber of us could eat it. Weve ordered bbq chicken pizzas many times at other restaurants. We like bbq pizza alot! This was awful in every way! The waitress just said "yeah, thats alot of onions". It was not her fault! We wdre not upset just couldnt believe anyone sould serve an ONION PIZZA and claim its a bbq chicken with onions. We asked for a manager. He was not apologetic at all! He said simply "Thats how we make it here" He only gave us twelve dollars back off our bill. We were not rude or unkind to him. Why didnt he take the whole pizza off our bill? Why didnt he offer other food from the menu? We had only eaten 1 small unpleasant piece each and we were quite hungry! We felt like arguing with him but said nothing at all. We took our 12 dollar refund and left immediately. We ate down the road at Wendys.. Wendys was delicious! We will never return to Q for food! Be warned about the ONION PIZZA calling itself a Barbecue chicken pizza with onions. And very poor management.!!!

Island Social is a Hit! The casino finally is catering to the under 21 crowd and as a parent of three we are thrilled to have somewhere else to go as a family. Island Social has a ton of ticket arcade games, claw machines, virtual axe throwing, and duck pin bowling. They also offer random deals throughout the week (like bogo game play or half off bowling etc) plus they have so many reasonably ticketed prizes for you to choose from. My kids are in heaven here and are already asking to have birthday parties here as well. The food is also good. We have had the wings and Mac and cheese and both were decent but a little too rich in flavor to finish. The Mac and cheese could certainly be shared. Kids meals are $9.00 which is steep in my opinion but you get a decent portion of food and an ice cream cup. Two of my boys easily share one order of the kids chicken strips. Go check out this local little spin on a Dave and Busters!

Visited Q Casino last night and had a great time! The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and there’s a good mix of newer slots and old favorites. I even wandered over to the table games for a bit - fun energy without feeling overwhelming. The sportsbook area was impressive with tons of screens, and grabbing a bite at Island Social was a nice bonus (good food, not crazy prices). It’s not trying to be Vegas, just a relaxed, fun night out with plenty to do all in one spot.

Went here on Saturday night. Read reviews about the amount of smoke and smell. It wasn't too bad. Not enough to keep from visiting and gambling. Nice place to visit and do something different.

Great experience. Pearl was a great tour guide. Very professional but felt like our friend of a long time. A ton of knowledge and we all were interested in parts of the cave crystals that were named. Overall we’ll check it out again. Also they provided jackets for you to borrow the caves are 55 Degrees.

Our family went today 8/2/25, we got there about 9:45 and our tour started at 10. Our tour guide was Alex and he was amazing! I would suggest getting there when they open as you have a better chance of having a smaller group, ours was 6 but they can be as big as 25! Crystal lake cave was about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us but it was worth it, it was a great experience! Alex also mentioned the Mines of Spain that are nearby and that is something else I would suggest to check out. I would definitely go back!!

This is a cool little side trip if you’re in the area. We took the 45 minute tour which begins in the small gift shop. The walk through the cave is fairly narrow so it was difficult to hear the guide since we were in the back. The scenery was somewhat interesting but not compared to the bigger caves in Virginia or Pennsylvania. If you have an hour to kill it’s a good choice.

We got our tickets on-site around noon and were placed in the 12:35 group tour. Phoenix was our tour guide and she was lovely! Very funny, informative, made sure we saw everything in the caves, and was enthusiastic to answer any questions, as well as providing fun facts about each sightseeing point. :) Don’t forget to sign the guestbook!

This place was SO cool! Stopped in for a tour this past weekend. Our tour guide was Brock and he was super informative about the cave and also made the tour fun while giving plenty of cool facts and science of the cave. I was in awe of all the formations in the cave. Definitely was worth the $20 for the tour!

Guided tour takes about 45 minutes and cost $20. Temperature in the cave runs about 52 degrees and has water in spots so dress accordingly. There is steps so strollers aren't allowed.

Andy is a spectacular guide and he was beyond knowledgable about a variety of things; he surprised us more as the tour went on. Beautiful cave with formations that are thousands of years old. This cave has tremendous natural beauty

Food is great! The wait staff has been great except once when I first went there I asked the waitress about food for my son with food allergies. She said she didn't feel comfortable making the decision about what was in the food. I asked her to ask the cook. She did and came back and said she still didn't feel comfortable. I asked to speak to the cook and she said he didn't speak very good English. It's hard to believe there are still some restaurants that can't identify what is in their food. But, on future visits, we got it sorted with other wait staff and now we go there frequently. Great food, clean place, good drink choices, quiet if you go on the non-bar side.

Very tasty! Ordered a mushroom burger and a Big Groove amber. Perfect!! Best fries ever and unlike any I have ever had. Curly but thick and well seasoned.

Awesome food and atmosphere. Comfortable chairs and plenty of elbow room. We ate around 6 and the service was spot on. Our waitress Kori was awesome. Our drinks were always full and the appetizers and food came quickly. Be sure to get some of the mozzarella bite appetizers they fall apart in your mouth they are so good. We had a variety of plates at our table and everything was delicious.

Visiting from out of town and we walked by the bar and the smell of the food attracted us in. The food was so good. Fresh to order so it did take a bit to get out to us but we didn’t mind the wait. Service was great, our bartender was so nice! 10/10 would eat here again.

When 1st and Main hits on all cylinders, it’s one of the best spots in Dubuque to eat, however they are not consistent. That being said, the mango habanero chicken flatbread is one of my favorite bites to eat in Dubuque! The sidewinders fries (I prefer the garlic Parmesan option) are also great. Service tends to be the most spotty here: my partner and myself have had a excellent service, and we’ve had instances where our server is just sitting on their phone at the end of the bar near the kitchen. We’ve also had servers that went above and beyond to accommodate us for a birthday as well. Always an option in Dubuque that’s worth a fair shake!

Absolutely amazing burgers I’m a burger girl and I have never in my life had such amazing burgers!! We had the Western burger and the big Wisconsin burger!! The root beer bourbon bbq sauce is amazing they make all their sauces in house! The fires were also delicious!!! The staff and bartender were absolutely fantastic as well big shout out to Nate!! He gave us a tour of the building and gave us an amazing experience here at 1st and main!!! If ever in the area I would 1,000 times make this a must stop to enjoy and eat here!!! Will definitely be making a trip back soon hopefully the owner gets word that we need this place in Ohio so my burger loving self doesn’t have to make so many trips to eat these amazing burgers!!!!

First, the good. The food tasted great. However we waited 10 minutes for water...then another 20 minutes for someone to take a drink and appetizer order. Appetizers came but we had no plates napkins or silverware. She took our meal order and never came back with plates until the appetizers and drinks were gone. Half the meals arrived ( we were a group of 7) still no table service or napkins. My dad had to get up from the table and go retrieve seven sets of silverware from behind the bar and nobody seemed to notice. Then the other half of our meals came. Like, I said, everything tasted good, but we were in there for 2 hours. Most of the time just waiting. They were not what I would call busy either. To get the check half of our party had to get up and leave. My husband and I stood at the table. When the check came they had added 37.20 for gratuity automatically....I guess because there was 7 of us. As bad as I felt for the waitress....who appeared to be working basically alone, I could not bring myself to add an additional tip.

Dubuque Mining Company is located in Kennedy Mall. Service was prompt and friendly. Evidently they specialize in a gourmet hamburger, which I did not try, I had read rave reviews about the tenderloin, which was very good, not excellent, but very good. Nice thickness and perfectly fried, just not much flavor. I cut it in half and will have enough for lunch tomorrow. I substituted creamy cole slaw for the fries. It was excellent. I ordered an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade and half ice tea). It was served in a quart canning jar. It was great and I was given a to go cup, because I couldn't finish it. I enjoyed lunch and will stop back to try the hamburger. I felt my meal was reasonably priced, at $18. plus change and a tip.

**Review of Minimg Company in Dubuque, Iowa** We visited the Minimg Company on a busy Friday night around 6:00 pm. Despite the crowd, we managed to find a table quickly in their seat-yourself setup. My wife enjoyed their signature drink, the Cave, served in a quart mason jar, which was as delicious as ever. I stuck with water. For dinner, I ordered the pork tenderloin and fries, while my wife opted for their famous burger. Her burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. My tenderloin was slightly overcooked, but I prefer that to it being underdone. Overall, we had a pleasant meal. The total came to a reasonable $37, including the drink. We'll definitely be back!

They have the famous Iowa fried pork tenderloin sandwich. Lots of good options on the menu, but I always land on this. Service and parking are both good. Lots of good local beer on tap.

We really enjoyed this place! Loved their big tall pops. They have Pepsi products. Friendly staff. We had the grilled pork chop sandwich and fries. It was very good. Nice size portions. Also lots of fun cocktails

Great food, clean restaurant. Everyone was helping each other out, don’t see that the often today. Only complaint was it took a very long time to get food, place wasn’t that busy. Waitresses were working hard and not overwhelmed, anther thing that you don’t see today. I think there kitchen is a little small for the restaurant size, did have a sign looking for kitchen help..Portions were good, burger could have been a bit bigger for size of bun. But with the amount of fries it was plentiful. Tasted fresh, drink were large and plenty of refills..

Atmosphere was nice. I like decorations Food was little bland. No season on fries. BBQ Sauce helped tenderloin. I asked for bacon added they were skimpy on bacon didn't even taste the bacon it was so small.

I've been here several times over the years growing up in Dubuque. Coming back into town it's a nice local spot to return to. I changed it up and got the Large Fish Sandwich with fries and it was both filling and tasty. Even better was the fact I got a free draft beer with my meal, so I'm all in on that deal. Historic dive bar with character and one of the best cheeseburgers in town. It’s small, unpretentious, and full of local charm. Cash only, but worth every penny. Great spot for a quick bite and a cold beer after exploring the city.

Big game little prices. Lots of trophy mounts all enclosed in glass displays. Locals are friendly, the bartender/cook is quick with a drink and a hot hamburger. They are cooked in a cool little grill oven thing, that's a 100 yrs old. It tastes amazing.

Big menu. Decent food, decent prices. They are short staffed so be understanding about the service. Customers are to order food and drinks at the bar. Outside patio is large and very well done. Pizza was very good. Menu items pictured is a half & half of pepperoni and Supreme. The other menu item is half Taco and half Canadian bacon and Kraut.

Each time we give Town Clock a chance we are always reminded why this isn’t our go to. The customer service at this restaurant is unfortunately subpar. You feel as though you’re an inconvenience coming to spend money in their establishment. The pizza is wonderful if you can look beyond the lack of care for the customer.

We ordered a keto pizza. It’s available with olive oil or sauce. Sat outside. Large overhang so no sunset in your eyes. Well marked self serve. You order drinks and food at bar then they bring food to your table. Ordered 2 side salads. Very ample side salad with great seasoning on croutons and lots of cheese. We trashed our keto experience by ordering beer though. Many beers on tap. Wine selection appears to only be those little bottles. Will come for pizza, salad and a beer again. Two of us ate it all

The remodeled restaurant over in peosta is really nice. Pizza was good, not my favorite but still good. I'm not a fan of the ordering style where you have to stand up and wait in line to order both food and drinks, then go back to your seat and wait, definitely not ideal when taking a toddler to dinner. Hopefully they figure that out because the atmosphere is great and there's a really good view of farmland from the outdoor seating.

Love they view from here, and being on the water is nice. Large space and tables are not on top of you. However, the food is basic bar food, and while not horrible, it isn't anything special. The cheese curds were served with a raspberry sauce, which seemed out of place but tasted okay. The chicken in the wraps, while plentiful, was dry. Fries were good, and beer options were good. Drink choices seemed nice, but they didn't taste like much alcohol was in them.

Beautiful riverfront location with lots of parking and great food. Service was slow on a Wednesday night. Cheese curds were delicious! I had the pulled pork tacos - very good. Hubby said the fish tacos were great.

Have eaten at the Yardarm Riverfront restaurant 3-4 times with my wife, son and his wife when we visit him in Dubuque. All of our meals have been great! Love the cheese curds, their fries, burgers and wraps. Like the outdoor seating next to the boat launching area and the Mississippi River. Very relaxing. Good service.

Great food! Stopped on our way to Wisconsin dells on vacation. Fun to sit outside on deck near the water to eat. When we were there they had live music which was fun to listen to.

Almost $30 with tip for stomach problems. Deep fried cheese curds and cod on an oily bread. While I respect people having their local cuisine, the food is not good if I end up taking medicine after eating. Portion is very small. Too pricey for the quality and quantity you are getting.

It's interesting but pretty small. I think it only took us about 30 minutes to go through the whole place. But the art work is interesting.

We visited from out of town on June 23, 2024. There's lots of construction going on nearby, so be aware of that. When we visited their second floor gallery was closed, so we were only able to check out the small gallery on the main level. It's nice to see a bit of culture in Dubuque. I hope to return to see what else they have to offer then it's fully open. They have a good sized parking lot right next to the building. They also a cute little gift shop inside.

Very neat for a small musuem

The temporary exhibitions are always top-notch and usually feature artists from the region. The permanent collection has some truly great pieces by Grant Wood, Winslow Homer, Ellen Wagener, and Edward Curtis. The museum is planning a new facility and currently has a cool scale model of Dubuque on display in the lobby.

Small but impactful. There were 2 Smithsonian collections on display when we visited. We also got in free for the winters farmers market. Every Thursday in 2019 entrance to the exhibits is free due to a donation given to the museum. The museum is family friendly with new exhibits, cultural shows, and craft project days for children.

This place is a local gem and the service is amazing! It is also a vegetarian friendly place. We loved our steamed chicken veggie dumplings, mock duck buns, and pad thai and the lime citrus lime thai tea! I gotta say their pad thai was so chewy and flavorful and it was definitely a happy meal. Strongly recommend try their pad Thai! Te interior is cute and clean and very nice local restaurant

Located at 145 W 11th St, Oolong offers an inviting Eastern‑Asian fusion kitchen with excellent pho, lobster rangoon, and rich miso ramen featuring pork belly and mushrooms. I loved the pad Thai and Thai basil stir‑fry too. Each dish felt carefully balanced, flavorful, and fresh. The décor is bright and relaxed, and staff are helpful and courteous. A smart choice for those craving authentic noodle soups and Asian‑inspired bowls in a calm setting.

What a delicious place for dinner! Plenty of seating inside and street parking for your convenience. I ordered the lobster ragoons and also the chicken pad Thai and added broccoli. Food came out quick and hot. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Nice place to unwind and eat a warm meal. Service was good. Food was easy to choose among the few options available. I ordered Thai stir fry which was filling but a bit too much sauce and a small critic thought: Meat cost $3-$4 extra, meanwhile the meat portion is small for both plates we ordered (chicken and beef). No compliant really, Just being honest. I enjoyed the warm tea and honey with my meal. The lime tea takes acquired taste. I would probably order dumplings again, but not sure about the stirfry or curry. Overall nice choice for Thai.

Absolutely delicious! The thai basil stir fry with tofu is some of the best I’ve had. My husband loved his ramen, and the pad Thai for my daughter was also very good and we ended up eating half of it. Service was top notch and we will definitely be stopping by next time we are in town.

We walked in and my first thought was that the place was small but clearly popular—it was busy, which is always a good sign. We’re from out of town and I was a little skeptical about trying Oolong, but they ompletely blew me away. They serve the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. The flavors were incredible, the portions were generous, and the service was friendly and fast. I seriously can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Dubuque. I’ll be recommending this place to anyone visiting or living in the area!

We were traveling from Colorado to Michigan, and stop here for lunch. I was impressed of this place. Pho Bo and pad tai are cooked according to original recipes, which is rare in usa in general. Very good atmosphere, nice and friendly waiter Samuel, very nice design of interior of restaurant. Next door is great Local brewery - Jubeck. Oolong restaurant allows beer to brought in. Parking is easily available in the street after 5pm free. 🆓 I would really recommend this place for my friends. 🩵

This not for profit restaurant and farmstead was worth every penny we spent. The selection was greater than expected. The food was just down right fantastic. Quinoa breakfast bowl, the quiche of the day, the breakfast burrito and the better burger were all delicious. The people were buying prepared meals as fast as they were made. As a side the rosemary potatoes were 5 stars.

we visited here on a saturday morning while in town for the weekend & we were so impressed! we knew they were short staffed, but the woman seating & serving us was incredible & very on top of things. & the kitchen was quick & did amazing! i got the sweet potato quinoa bowl & it was so tasty & was the perfect amount. we had a great time here even as they were short staffed so i bet it’s somehow even better with a full staff! i also admire the work they do for the community with the classes & gardens.

Not your standard restaurant. We stopped in for pizza night with very picky friends. They have a limited menu for pizza, cheese, sausage, pepperoni, Mediterranean and weekly specialty. The specialty was Alfredo this week. All pizzas are personal size so we each ordered. One got the Mediterranean and she said it was one of the best pizzas she's had. I really enjoyed my pepperoni. All profits from the restaurant go to feed and support the neighborhood and the people there are very nice.

A nonprofit café‑restaurant in a restored greenhouse with community gardens. I loved the pork quinoa bowl and French toast bread pudding. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. Staff were friendly, passionate, and explained the farm‑to‑table concept. Great ambience, good for brunch or lunch.

Neat place for breakfast. Had some different items on the menu. Had the quinoa bowl with chorizo which was tasty. Their sausage was excellent because it had no grease. Service was very good. Specialty drinks good but a little pricey.

We spent a weekend in Dubuque and were really looking forward to brunch here after researching it — I loved the concept and mission. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We were promptly seated but then ignored while tables around us were cleared and guests who arrived after us were served. After about 15 minutes, I had to walk up to the coffee bar to order drinks myself. Even then, other people’s drinks were made before mine. I mentioned to staff (three separate times) that we weren’t being served while others who came after us were — yet nothing changed. Eventually, I brought the drinks back to our table, but after another 15 minutes of being overlooked while others were attended to, we decided not to stay for food. Despite raising the issue multiple times, we never received an apology or acknowledgment. The concept is wonderful, but the service experience fell far short.

I don't know how they did it but they made a simple bacon, egg and cheese panini one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! And such a unique concept! Its a garden-to-plate restaurant, built in the heart of a downtown neighborhood, with art from local artists featured in the decor. Their food is made from scratch with ingredients picked from their extensive garden complex built behind the restaurant. Herbs and spices, vegetables, even the eggs gathered fresh from hens they raise! And after eating you can tour their gardens. So cool! And sooooo delicious!

Fun bar area with duck pin bowling, pool tables, shuffleboard and a big arcade in the basement. Connected to another place so there are food options available. Went with another family and had a great time. Ordered three different flavors of wings, a bit pricey at almost $2/per..sauce was tasty but the wings could've been crispier. Great beer options!

We had our staff Christmas party at Backpocket this year. It was a great choice to say the least. Food options were great and very well priced plus super delicious. We picked the small event room which was right off the main area which fit our team perfectly. The staff got to play duckpin bowling which was a huge hit! We will definitely keep them in mind for any upcoming gatherings for sure!

Our baseball team from Wisconsin went here for dinner and evening hangout. Very fun atmosphere, offers a lot for both kids and adults to do, great staff, and great food. I highly recommend this place! Mike also went above and beyond when we discovered three weeks after being home that my little guy left his phone there (an ancient phone only used for wifi). Mike kindly paid for the phone to be sent back to us in Wisconsin. We are so thankful! There really are good people out there in the world!

Had a great time at this place. Love the fact the pool and shuffle board are free. Loved the beers, and we all loved the arcade. Got food here, food was fine. Venue is amazing, done well with it. Caters to a wide audience which can be both good and bad depending on what type of night you want. Only thing that didnt really sit well was I ordered the food and got a buzzer and a map of where to collect it, it wasnt brought to table, fair enough. However i had a tab going and when it was closed out it asked for a tip starting at 18%, fair enough, however i did have to get the food myself so i didnt really feel that this was earned just for pouring drinks and punching the order intot he screen.

We just threw a birthday party for my son and rented the space next to the arcade room. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Great nature center. LOVED the li e bees they had. They also had a few trails to walk around the grounds and flowers labeled around the building. It was also next to a park and campground of the same name.

Stunning views all year round! The bridges that washed out from flooding mid year were mostly all replaced before the snow and makes it great for a hike in the cold this year! Stream bottom trail is worthwhile any time of the year. I suggest wearing good boots as being at the bottom of the hills you can find yourself in the mud quite often.

Our daughter loved the nature center. We can't wait to come back with our niece and nephew. Then we went for a short hike. The surroundings were gorgeous, my husband and daughter can't wait to go back and fish. Great way to spend a day, even on a chilly Fall day.

Swiss Valley is a gem located in Dubuque. The trails are nice and maintained with a lot of fun additions. You can stop at the creek away spots along the way, fun little bridges, and little nature facts along the way. You can make it short for kids or a little longer if desired. The nature center is AWESOME especially considering it's free.

Great music venue and chill place to hang after work. Unfortunately however, their parking lot is very small, so people like to park in the private parking across the alley. Doubly unfortunately, the bargoers here in busier nights like to piss on the cars in said lot. Would give better ratings if the clientele wasn't so difficult.

Fun outdoor rooftop seating. Had a great local crafted beer that was full of flavor and sweetness. Loved the vibe and unique industrial look and feel.

Quality dive bar. Music isn't too loud, drinks are what you'd expect in a proper dive. Friendly staff and interesting clientele. If you order the food, you'll get what you deserve.

Great place! Thursdays they have open mic hosted by Chad Olson. So, if you play or sing come on down. It's a lot of fun. There are always different musicians stopping by. First Friday of every month they do a bluegrass jam. They have a great rooftop patio covered in AstroTurf. They crank out live music and DJ's on the weekends until midnight on the roof. Just check their website to see who is going to be featured. The owners are really nice people. The bartenders are super welcoming and keep the place nice and clean. Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures. I don't have a great camera on my phone.

Attended a private event here and it was my first visit. The staff was very attentive and the space has a very historic feel. It wont be my last visit especially with the great rooftop areas that they have set up. Looking forward to my next visit.

The restaurant/bar is beautiful, I love the indoor/outdoor seating options! Lots of drink choices! The food was excellent, truly enjoyed that! The service was a bit slow tonight, we ended up eating after our two other friends we were with, but it worked out fine in the end. The fried pickles we ordered for an appetizer were excellent and my husband really enjoyed the tap beer he ordered. Definitely recommend giving DarkBird a go if you’re in the area!

An impromptu stop gained new customers. The staff was fantastic. The patio is a great mix of shaded and sunny places to enjoy your drinks and food. We ordered the wings as an appetizer, which came out with our food, however, they are the best wings we've had in a long time! I had the hot chicken sandwich, which was underwhelming in flavor, but the chicken was cooked to perfection, not dry at all. I did take half home and added hot honey which put this over the top!! My hubs had the pretzel burger, which was also cooked to perfection, just a little underwhelming in flavor also. The fries were also delicious. Was happy to pick up some merch as well. We will make the 2 hour trip again.

We were turned on to this place due to an article that labeled it as ‘Edgar Allen Poe’ inspired. Apart from a raven as the logo, we saw no other signs of this inspiration. Just a bit of a let down, especially since we drove 1:15 to get there. QR code for menu, order at a counter, food brought to your table. No other table service. Cranberry mule was tasty. Free refills on sodas. They are very up front about the possibility of the food taking a while, due to their emphasis on beverages, and a tiny kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised that our food didn’t take long at all! We tried the Mac and cheese bites (delicious!) and the pretzel (pretty good) for appetizers. For our entrees we had the daily special (hot honey chicken sandwich with fries), pretzel pub burger with fries, and a house cheeseburger with cheese curds. Requested the burgers well-done. They were, but still moist and delicious! Live music when we arrived. Quite a bit too loud for our liking. Luckily the band took a break a little after we got there.

The place is spacious and very clean. The food was prompt (mostly) and wonderful. Def 5 stars on the food. We all had something different and everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was less desirable. Not friendly at all. Felt like an inconvenience for asking questions or for refills. Even my 11 yr old made the same comment when he asked for a to go box. We are from out of town and stopped in for dinner.

Wonderful place for great food and drinks with friendly service! They have so many options - a wide variety of beers on tap and in the cooler, specialty cocktails, and a large selection of NA beers and mocktails. We love to hang out on their large patio and they offer a variety of yard games as well as a play set for children. It is definitely a welcoming place for all!

I’ve been going to Darkbird since I moved back to Peosta and it has been a place I can always depend on, whether it be the selection of beer on tap or refrigerator, their standard menu items or specialty items. I have never been disappointed. The staff is also one of the welcoming and personable in the area. Grace and Andrea have assembled an amazing group of employees that treat you as if you’re family and not just another customer. Always personable, communicative and welcoming. Best place in Peosta to go for drinks, food, special occasions and their array of music and specialty entertainment.

Rachel and the crew were awesome today. They took care of us and they were very fun to be around. The band was great to hear on a Sunday afternoon. We are visiting from Texas and it was a great place!

A pleasant, quiet park for relaxing and/or having a picnic. There are no restrooms here, but there is a public restroom a block away—also, note that there is no playground area. This park is often used for rallies and is the home of the Fine Arts Festival and Food Truck Fridays.

Good place to eat with plenty of picnic tables in the shade, or sun. The band had a nice time in the gazebo. Plenty of parking close by. No restroom or playground for kids or else all was pleasant.

Enjoyed local Ice Sculpture display again. Annual event appreciate the hardworking sculpturers and their donors making this an incredible event!

Visiting while on a road trip with my mom & happened to be here while they had this market set up & there were lots of neat things, couple of food trucks, wonderful art & even fun things to do for kids!

What a lovely little park! We stopped there for a picnic supper and thoroughly enjoyed a perfect, peaceful summer evening.

When we walked in, we had concerns. It felt like we stepped into a time machine and landed in a secret 70s bar. So much leather. So little light. But hey, we decided to roll with it and ordered the prime rib. Things kicked off with an amazing relish tray—I'm talking stellar liver paste and cheese spread that could win awards. Then came the prime rib. Wow. It was phenomenal. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this retro-looking place. The decor may be vintage, but the food is top-notch!

The warm rolls were a nice touch, and the homemade ham & potato soup was a real highlight—definitely tastes like it was made from scratch. The best part? The old-school relish tray. It’s loaded with all the supper club classics, and the beer cheese is a must-try. Pro tip: Save some beer cheese and mix it with your hash browns for an extra treat. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole place has a welcoming, nostalgic vibe. Keep your expectations in check (this is a small-town spot, after all), and you’ll have a great meal. We decided we would try Chop’s for the first time a couple of weeks ago to have their fish. My brother went for the ribeye and my husband and I had fish. Oh my gosh, it was the most exceptional food and service I’ve ever had in 55 years!!!! From the relish tray to the soup and salad to the meal itself with amazing sides….it was amazing!!! The warm rolls…oh boy. So fresh. I can’t say enough positive things about this place but it has definitely become our go to place and I cannot wait to go again on Friday for my brother’s birthday!!!! We were full for a couple of days….so much delicious food! 100% impressed!

The Kall Inn is the best super club around. Every time I've been there in the years that Chop took over the service, the food, the drinks, the fun, and the conversations have all been nothing short of amazing. I'll always go back.

9-12 Saturdays November through April. I was able to get fresh bread, micro greens, root vegetables, honey, grass fed meats, eggs and more. In 2021 they started having speakers once a month. If you don’t have cash you can stop at the information booth and they can turn your credit card to cash tokens. You can use your snap card to get tokens as well.

I normally work every Saturday morning so it was finally nice to get to go walk around and get local produce. I miss going more often. And I always bring home honey sticks for the kids if they don't join me.

If you're in town on a Saturday, you can't miss this place. It's fantastic. Go hungry and under caffeinated. That way you can try all the food and get good coffee.

$23 for a pour of Eagle Rare was unheard of prior to my visit since the bottle retails for about $50. Thanks Riverboat for setting a new precedent... Bartenders were popular amongst the patrons. Bar seating is a little small but offers a few TVs. Lots of seating elsewhere in the lounge, including a back terrace. Seems like a good place to start or end your night. Occasionally has live music but for whatever reason, not on the Saturday night I visited.

Literally one of the better vodka martinis ever. I can't comment on the food but the lady who was bartender? Fantastic! What a pro! Huzzah!

Was at a wedding and the creepy door guy kicked out my 35 year old friends because they were in dresses and didn’t have ID on them. We were at the wedding upstairs and just wanted a shot because it was only wine and beer at the wedding. It was on June 21st. The guy was missing teeth. I loved the Julian but you guys need to get rid of that creep

We were there on a busy Saturday night. Carl B is a bomb bartender. He is a master mixologist and creates amazing drinks. Everything we had was fun, inventive and spot on. Never burnt and never too light, just right!

We had a stay recently when we came to Loras college to visit our son. After he went out with friends for the evening we came back to the hotel and decided to have 1-2 drinks to relax. Our server Keri was GREAT! We ended up staying way longer then we expected and it was because of her service and interaction. We will be back again.

Keri was amazing. She was the only bartender there for 4 conferences at the hotel, never got a seconds break but she powered through and kept turning out amazing cocktails. My husband likes to order cocktails most people never heard of and she knew them all, and had the ingredients to make them. We hit up a few bars in town and this one was by far the best because of Keri.

Really cool space, upstairs and downstairs. A nice bar with a good selection of craft beer on tap and a limited but unique menu. Intimate and great sounding music venue downstairs.

Loved it! We went for the Kitchen Brigade. The drinks were great, and so was the food. For drinks we ordered a cocktail called Angel 42, and a sugar free energy drink called Black Death. For food we ordered the entree salad (can’t remember the name!) and the Burger. Both were delicious! We left full and satisfied. We also happened to go on a night where they had a really talented singer! He was great. So was the piano player.

Love seeing shows in this more intimate venue! But small space doesn’t mean small bands by any means! Great happy hour and awesome bartenders. Highly recommend and looking forward to expanded weekend hours…come on daytime weekend patio cocktails! 🤞🏻

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in downtown Dubuque. I'm hard pressed to think of a better burger in town, and the fries are terrific as well. Also a cool spot to grab a beer (with a decent tap selection). Haven't even seen a show yet, but they are bringing in more bands from out of town than anyone in Dubuque (by a long shot).

Great venue good entertainment downside is a bit small and more standing room then seating ticket prices are reasonable and sometimes free entertainment.

Went and saw comedian Jeff Dye! We had a great time. All the comedians that night were great.

Saw a comedy show on Saturday night. The noise from the slot machines was so loud it was hard to hear the show. It was loud enough that the performer on stage commented several times regarding the noise because it was distracting him. Very annoying.

In fall of 2019, I booked 4 spots and a table for an April 2020 Black Stone Cherry concert. Because of Covid, the concert got pushed back to fall of 2021. I called and spoke with Marty Meyers at the Moon Bar who said he would refund my tickets because we weren't able to make the new date. That was before the rescheduled concert in mid October. I've never seen a refund, and Marty is no longer answering or returning my calls. I also called and asked to speak with someone above Marty, but was told he was the only one who could refund my money. It is now December and I still haven't seen a refund.

We bought tickets to a show, arrived a bit late (930pm, show was said to go until 11pm). So when we got there no one was at Will Call (and no one was able to get us our tickets). Strange but we just went in and a door guy stamped us. We then tried to get down to the floor section (where we bought our tickets) and the employees wouldn’t let us down because “we didn’t have tickets.” It was a frustrating game of logic, like trying to explain to a child why they can’t do something, but we kept trying to say “we bought tickets. We’d love to have them but no one that works here can get us them. There’s no will call right now. We bought tickets though. Here’s our receipt.” We then *showed* our receipt for the show where it said “floor section.” A security guy came over to try to figure things out, went away to talk to a superior, and came back to note that “his boss wanted him to kick us out, but he’ll let us stay if we sit in the back.” Excuse me...you’ll *let* us stay? How gracious. All that is to say, buying tickets here seemingly does nothing for your ability to attend a show, which feels like a fraud to me. Good stage though and nice drink specials

My sister brought us here while we were visiting. We got some breakfast that was really good. Plenty of fresh grown items to get. Everyone was in a good mood.

This farmer's market lives up to it's reputation---the OLDEST, SUPER LOCATION, the BIGGEST one in Iowa I've been to, absolutely THE BEST "breakfast fare", & a HUGE VARIETY OF VENDORS and their products & produce!! LOVED IT!!!

Get rid of the anti gun booth. I went to a FARMER'S MARKET not a political event!!!. The vendor packet says you support locally grown produce snd crafts... Please keep it about home grown products not social/political agendas no matter what the topic is.

Enjoy the day downtown Dubuque for the summer farmers market. We appreciate all the small businesses, especially the wide variety of items locally made. We will definitely be back again and again!!!

Nice farmers market with coffee, produce, flowers, etc. It was surprisingly big and busy Aug 19 (2023). We enjoyed it and spent about an hour shopping. 👍😁

My boyfriend and I went here together. He was raised Christian and I was not. I went with an open heart to learn about Jesus. Not only was I rejected, but they actively tried to get my boyfriend to leave me. Rather than try to bring me into the fold, they tried to divide us. We will never go back and I honestly don’t know if I will ever trust a church again.

I tuned into the live stream and the topic concerned how people live out ‘lies’ in their lives. As a Seminary Graduate, I found the ‘context’ to be flawed and self serving; certainly ideological. On further perusal of the web site, things became clear. The core ideology of this church is religious fundamentalism. Or to express it in another way, Biblical Literalism. If you are not familiar with the term, they believe that the Bible is the ‘inherent’ word of God. Most legitimate and authentic seminaries teach the Bible to be ‘inspired’ by God, and not literal dictation of every word throughout the centuries. A little history on what the vast majority of main line Biblical Scholars teach and write: fist, main line scholars of the Bible recognize that the corpus of the texts from the Hebrew Bible, to have a very long history of redaction. This is also why the majority of Biblical Scholars use the Historical Critical Method to ascertain meaning. That is to say, those scholars who graduated from major universities. Conversely, Moody Bible College is not a legitimate source of authentic historic teaching. Thus the problem is not with the text of scripture, but rather those who ‘interpret’ it from a narrow and flawed belief system. As a case in point to the themes of ‘lies’ this pastor was teaching, we need only look at our contemporary situation on how Evangelical Fundamentalism embraces the current occupant of the White House. A man who ‘lies’ on demand to fund his vast cabal of coconspirators while fleecing the Commons of its hard earned treasure. Reading the Biblical narrative is always an interpretation. Some interpretations are better than others. But in this case, the Pastor is filtering his assertions thru the lens of his own ’subjectivism.’ This type of hypocrisy taints and renders illegitimate the entire credibility of Evangelical movement.

My favorite place to be every week! Amazing community, amazing messages, amazing worship, all together under God's amazing grace. Come as you are, no matter the age; there's a little bit of everyone.

Very nice, good music and singing, lots of bible verses, casual clothing and nice people. Plenty of room for all and several seating options.
