This was, hands down, our favorite spot in San Juan. We went both in the morning and at night, and both experiences were amazing. The bartenders were incredibly kind and professional — they prepared our cocktails right in front of us, based on personal recommendations, and really made us feel special. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic. We tried several different ones, and each had its own unique and delicious flavor. The atmosphere is that of a stylish, elegant bar — I’ll share some photos! Whether you’re looking to relax after a long, hot day or wind down after a night out, this is the best bar in Old San Juan. Highly, highly recommended!

Oh my god, La Factoría with live salsa completely blew my mind! The vibe, the dancing, the music — it’s all just incredible. Definitely a place you can’t miss. The cocktails are excellent, and it’s such a cool experience discovering hidden little bars behind different doors. It does get really hot inside, but honestly, I had an amazing time and would go back in a heartbeat.

I went to dance at this place with my friends because everyone recommended it. It did nit disappoint. It 's located in Old San Juan. Every room in this 2 story building has a bar with a different theme and music, so you can walk around from room to room and enjoy different types of music rhythms like Salsa, techno, reggaeton, techno, etc. The salsa room was packed with people dancing. It seemed like a good combination of locals and tourists.

It's somehow highly rated, but not worth the hype. It's kind of different bars all in one place where you can hop on, but becomes costly as you step up! You go here just for the atmosphere, but not for anything else. Cocktails and the food are good and so is the location.

Reviewed as a bar when looking for delicious drinks this place was ok at best. We arrived close to open and all the additional rooms were closed, so we were told lots of drink options weren’t available. Staff were friendly and service speed was decent. It definitely sounds like this place is a lot of fun at night as basically a club, but definitely not a place for amazing drinks. If you’re looking for great drinks go to Kane Rum Bar. Overall for all the amazing reviews this place was ok, so if you want the best experience for what they offer go at night.

La Factoría has the reputation that it has for very good reason!!! It IS the epicentre of fun, excellent vibes, superb live music and salsa dancing with people at all different levels. We went after finishing a late dinner on a Saturday night, and the vibes that we were hoping for - we received with open arms! There was no long line to get in, and it was definitely crowded inside. Getting drinks wasn’t too crazy of an ordeal — but most importantly, and I cannot stress this enough, it was SUCH an amazing time!!

This bar definitely has a great atmosphere. It has different rooms and each room has its own bar. Music is always on point here; can be loud but you’re still able to talk. It’s a tourist area, prices are according to that. Tip: there’s an area most people don’t know about. Have fun looking for it.

Every time I'm in Old San Juan I have to stop at El Batey! Probably my favorite dive bar in the world. I love this place, and I always meet interesting characters there.

Really enjoyed having a drink in a space that felt so different from the other bars in the area. It’s a super casual, grungy dive bar playing rock music. High ceiling rooms covered in graffiti/sharpie and lamps covered in dollar bills…I loved discovering all the random trinkets and drawings throughout.

Stopped by because the vibe looked fantastic. Killer music, great local crowd, excellent bartender, best atmosphere you could ask for. Will be back 100%

First night In Porto Rico We decided to stay in the old city it seems to be authentic and pretty, for those who like history and learning about the city is the place to be. We went out to this place which was recommended bu many people There’s is a lot of bars and restaurants on the same area all around the food market which I will visit today The bars are basics but the ambience is funny The only things is that they like listening to music very very loud and while you are walking in between bars it’s very annoying between Latin and hip hop music We tried différents food and bites Wasn’t that bad but we didn’t discover the heart of portoricain food yet. La Placita de Santurce is a vibrant spot in San Juan that truly comes alive on weekdays and on the weekends, this was on a Thursday! The atmosphere is electric, filled with music and the sounds of laughter. It’s a fantastic place to mingle with locals and enjoy delicious street food. Literally dancing and bar hopping in this square and everyone was friendly. People are here to have a good time. La Placita is definitely worth a visit!

Totally loved this place. Even though it wasn’t as busy when we went, we still had fun. Walked around a bit and everything is closed. Great vibe. Go on the weekend of you want to real party.

Loud music everywhere. So many choices of Adult Beverages to choose from. Local dishes at just about every restaurant. It’s a must go if you’re looking to dance and drink.

La Placita is a great place to party in Santurce. We stayed close by and went every night we were in Santurce. We had dinner in one of the restaurants one night and just got picadores because we were going to walk around. My favorite spots were La Buena Barra, Tulum, Dirty Monkey, and Paradiso. Walk around and enjoy all the music and drinks, its amazing. Be aware that the prices are much higher in this area than outside of the city! Also many people, if not everyone came here after the concert ended.

Loved it. Drinks were good and music was great and fun too. Would say everyone comes around 11pm-12am! Would come again.

It was lit. I had Mofongo with chicken and garlic sauce. So yum and the service was great. So many options for dancing, hookah, drinks and food. Time went too fast.

La Taberna Lupulo is a great taphouse and restaurant in Old Town. They have a full bar, and nearly 50 beers on tap, with options not listed on the website. Roughly 1/2 their beers are local and with this many taps, they cover most styles. Their menu is not huge but what they make is really good. The atmosphere is great, it's big, open, and has the classic spanish old town feel. Service is friendly though the music can be a little loud. This is a spot I would stop at again.

This is a great place to have a taste of the many kinds of artisan beers our island has to give! The service from the bartenders are always great and the bouncers at the entrance are very respectful. This time we had a female bartender and she is a very kind person. She takes the time to explain to you the flavors you might encounter on each beer. Overall, this is a great place to drink local artisan beer oh, and the music is always on point. We just don't like the "reggetón" music of other pubs around the Old San Juan area and this is the only place we can rely on to listen to good music because it is also not too loud for you to speak with your companions, and you can have a wonderful time there. Another note: the bathrooms are always very clean! I highly recommend this place to locals and tourists alike.

Fantastic spot for craft beer right in the heart of old San Juan. Whether you’re fat drinking or being rowdy out late, this pub is a definite must go to. You won’t regret it.

We had some snacks and beer at this place. The drinks were nice, and the beer was actually pretty good. However, the food was disappointing. The fish inside the taco was burnt, yet they still served it — which was quite frustrating. Despite the friendly staff and decent drinks, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The snacks were below average, and overall, it felt like a waste of time.

Absolutely loved this place. Sandra was exceptional, very attentive and friendly. She went above and beyond giving us great recommendations. I only got the chips and salsa but the salsa was amazing!!! Just the right amount of heat and super flavorful. Will definitely be saving this place for the next time I come.

Interesting and tasty beer/mead/drunk selection. 47 local and imported beers on the menu along with a few other unique options. I really liked how the bartender had a good story about each. Good place to do a bite or a drink. A “spritely” 10-minute hike from the cruise docks.

Is a bit small in the inside the entrance was free for the lady’s . I visited this club with some friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them. The vip was around 700$ two bottles include but we ended up paying 948$ .music was good .

In my honest opinion Brava is one of the best clubs i have gone to in Puerto Rico. It has incredible DJs, a great atmosphere and those who work there (bartenders, hostesses, and security guards) are friendly and respectful. If you’re looking for a very packed day, full of locals, go on a thursday you wont be disappointed! Although it is a bit smaller than other clubs it has plenty of space to dance, sit and relax, and the guards make sure to not overly pack the place. I trully cant say one bad thing about the place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go!!

Such a cool place! Definitely felt and looked like a high-end club, like something you’d find in New York or Miami. The coco mojito I got was delicious and the crowd was all over the dance floor. The only thing is that it was a little too crowded to dance when I went, so I want to go back on a slightly less busy night just so that I have room to get out on the dance floor.

The drinks and music was top notch! I had such a memorable time with my friends last week. I definitely recommend spending time here!

It was not very fun, the club was way too bright and flashy and the DJ was not very good. My friend and I loved La Placita but if that was your jam, bravo will not be. It’s very overstimulating.

We traveled from NY for a birthday bought a section which could have been a lil bigger for the price but the hostesses were nice and pretty and make ya drinks strong,they definitely don't sell food or snacks so don't go there needed food in ya belly with ya liquor!! They don't really cater to the tourists in the crowd so if your looking for more music from home this is not the place if your a native then yes..they played 1 song we knew then 4 Spanish ones the half of a song we liked and more of there's so we ended up leaving a bit early then we would have liked it jus wasn't that enjoyable since we didn't really understand the music.We ended up finding a place so it wasn't a complete waste.

The main area DJ Alex plays too much rap in English and Spanish. It's really cool but don't recommend the private boots since you are stuck in the main area. The secondary area/ DJ is way better

JungleBird is located in a lively neighborhood with plenty of bars and music. I loved the cool aesthetic, and the vibe was great—everyone there seemed really happy. We only had drinks, but the food looked delicious and definitely worth trying next time.

Their mix drinks were average. It was hard to come here after Kane Rum bar which really put the standard high. Their prices were on par for the area just not the quality compared to Kane. We sampled some appetizers, but overall nothing was worth mentioning. Staff were friendly and service was fast, but the place was empty. Overall I really wanted to like this place it was just a let down.

I’m soooo happy I found this cocktail bar. I tried a couple drinks and all of them were fantastic. The best part were the prices. $10-$14 for a drink that’s made with love and care? Go next door and pay $9 for a rum and coke.

Interesting place. The good: The drinks and service were great. The food was good as well. The other side: This places smell really weird. The music is quite loud and the tables and menus need updating. Would I go back? Probably, yes, the drinks were that good.

I cannot speak highly enough about Junglebird and the lovely bartenders. My husband and I showed up like a couple of nerds at 5:01 to be sure we could get seats at the bar. We got super VIP treatment by Robertson and Ed.. they schooled us on PR tiki history and served the most amazing drinks.. my favorite of all time the green swizzle that I’ve since been obsessed with recreating. The food was also bomb. This review is a bit late. Went in December 2024. Can’t wait to return this December!

I don’t say this lightly when I say, they have the best tuna tartare on the island. I’ve been visiting PR monthly for the past year and I’ve had a lot of opportunities to try different restaurants’ version on it, and JungleBird found the secret sauce! The drinks are good, i love the atmosphere and the service has always been acceptable…but I’m just here to tell you all to go try the tartare and report back!

Food shouldn’t be overlooked here. One of the best Mac and cheeses I’ve ever had and it was a special. Tiki cocktails are flawlessly made and service is kind and quick. Absolutely love this place. Can’t wait to recommend to friends who visit and to come back myself.

There's construction going on but still made the best of it. We are on a cruise and stopped in San Juan and was suggested this restaurant. The garlic shrimp was delicious. Pina Coladas were good very pineapple tasting. We also tried the Puerto Rican Delight. The empamadas looking things were good and the corn sticks were yummy. We were not a fan of the croquettes but that could be just us.

Barra China in Old San Juan is a good place to drink a cold and delicious piña colada at a reasonable price. The food was just ok and nothing to brag about, but tasty! I’ve always liked the tropical 🌴 atmosphere at Barra China, but after years and years of visiting this bar/restaurant I think that some remodeling and updates to the venue will bring in more business. We tried their famous piña coladas—they were good, though I was hoping for a thicker, creamier texture. The appetizers were solid overall, but the standout was definitely the stuffed plantains. They were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. A tasty start to the meal in a lively atmosphere.

Fun to try the first Pina Colada. We ordered food too and I would NOT order the skirt steak. I'm not sure what it was marinated with but we couldn't even take a bite and ended up paying for a full uneaten plate. We also had the seafood Mofungo. It wasn't my favorite but the seafood was decent. We did like the appetizer plate (2 person portion was easily split by 5). The staff were sweet and friendly! Nice little gift shop next door too.

They were under construction, so I imagine the atmosphere will be amazing soon but was just ok for us. Food was good but not exceptional. Pina coladas are as good as expected for the reputation.

We went for the piña colada and it was good. They were closing so we were only allowed to get it to go. I felt like I was drinking my mom’s fermented pineapple juice extract. I think it was because it was the original, the bar tender couldn’t explain to us the meaning of the taste of it because to us it was different from other ones we had.

If you come here stick to the Pina colada drinks!!! Read more and you’ll find out why. Let’s start with the outside, gorgeous exterior, great photo opportunities. We walked inside and waited for the hostess. We debated whether on grabbing drinks to go vs enjoying drinks at the bar but it was crowded. After waiting a couple of minutes at the to go bar we decided to dine in. Service was still slow at the dining area and the waitress made a comment that she would not be able to greet our table anytime soon since she had other tables. We were there for almost 20minutes or so before we were able to place our order. Eventually she greeted our table and she was fairly pleasant. Of course we ordered Pina coladas which were absolutely delicious. My homegirl is a slow drinker and surprisingly she finished her drink before me! The tostones with pollo and plantanos with mariscos were decent. It lacked flavor but for the price and how hungry we were at that moment we still ate it.

This place was so cool! We sat at the bar and ordered the coconut frozen hot chocolate and the regular dark cocoa with cheddar cheese cube (on the side). Also got the little truffles in the case - these were delicious!! Unique experience while walking around Old San Juan. There is a door to the art gallery upstairs by the entrance, this was nice to check out afterwards. 10 out of 10!!

This place offers a great variety of food, and the service is excellent. Be sure to try the chocolate grilled cheese and the chocolate burger; they are both creative and fun dishes. The mocha coffee is superb, and brunch here is the best. The ambiance is pleasant, and the overall service was satisfactory.

This was such a unique experience. Who would have thought of a restaurant where everything is served with chocolate…even the burgers…of course the chocolate can be put on the side…. like the spicy chocolate that was served with the plantains. The restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious. However, the service needs help. Our server was Jonathan, and he was less than good. I cannot even say average as we waited a very long time for most of our drinks and food and the restaurant was not even full or busy…so this was a bit concerning. We were intrigued by the idea of having chocolate in all menu items. It somewhat delivered. Our party had Latin smash burger, French toast, and grilled cheese with bacon. The chocolate sauce for the French toast was yum! The service was horrendous. Perhaps the server was new. He bungled the order so the grilled cheese arrived way after the other food. He also charged for the iced Americano even though we canceled it because they could not make it decaf. It was a fun restaurant with good food. I hope they work on training the servers better.

Strong and Delicious! Everyone was super polite and helpful. Multiple people helped us with our family's orders (not everyone could decide what they wanted the 1st time we ordered) they explained our options and were very patient with everyone in our group. 5 Stars For Sure!! **That is More Appreciated Than They Know!!**

Very interesting cuisine. A touch of chocolate in most of the dishes. Unique taste for chocolate lovers. Loved the art exhibit upstairs for a children's foundation.

Fellow travelers, when in Viejo San Juan, please visit Chocobar Cortés, the definitive Puerto Rican chocolate experience. This location is beautifully decorated with images from what seems to be past advertisement campaigns. They even have a wall covered with old metal chocolate moulds. Walk to the back of the seating area to find a display honoring the short stories that used to come packaged with the bars themselves, and a heartfelt letter from a longtime fan and consumer. During our visit, we ordered the following: - Don Ignacio (made with Barrilito 3-Star Rum) - Chocolate Old Fashioned (made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon) - Churros - Quesito Cortés Our favorite drink was the Don Ignacio, which to no surprise, acts as the flagship drink of the establishment. Both glasses were dipped in chocolate that hardened which just added to the beautiful presentation of the cocktail. The excelent service, inviting setting, and quality cocktails and products will certainly make you say: ¡Rico Chocolate Cortés!

Stumbled upon this cool corner bar while waiting for a nearby dinner reservation, and it turned out to be a gem. The cocktails were outstanding, and the food smelled incredible; definitely coming back to try it. The bartender kept things moving smoothly, even during the rush. While indoor space is limited, there’s a spacious outdoor patio out back that adds to the vibe.

We stopped by Penúltima around 5pm on a Thursday and the place itself was cool. The layout is great, very open and unpretentious, and the extensive menu with a solid spirit selection definitely stood out. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch too. We kept it simple with a couple Medalla beers, one cocktail, and a crème brûlée. The beer was canned (expected at $2.50). The cocktail was a mezcal Paloma riff. It wasn’t bad, but I would have elevated it with some carbonation and a better presentation like a long cube or pebbled ice with a dried citrus garnish. The star of the night was the crème brûlée. It was delicious: light, airy, creamy, rich, and decadent. Where things went wrong was the service. The bartender didn’t make us feel welcome at all. He seemed annoyed, ignored us when we tried to order more (which is just lost money for the bar), and it took forever to get the check. You can have great food and drinks, but if the hospitality isn’t there, people won’t want to come back. Overall, Penúltima has potential. I’d return to try the smash burger (which looked popular) and maybe more cocktails, but hopefully next time with better trained staff who understand service makes the experience.

I asked for a Puerto Rican classic, Nabil hooked me up with a Rum old fashioned. Can't recommend enough. Disco fries on top, perfection. Great bar to come if you're looking for a taste of nightlife, excellent food, and high quality drinks.

Nice chill party vibe. The crowd was friendly. Drinks were great. The buffalo wings and fries were tasty. I had the Isla barquean fizz - I enjoyed it.

Probably the best cocktails in San Juan. Alternative and unconventional place, they also serve savory dishes, with vegan alternatives. They have a backyard were you can sit and dine. Perfect for after hours or a pre game cocktail. The Smashed Burger is AMAZING!

The bar has amazing wines but the staff is so rude. They act like they are doing you a favor and they will literally ignore or cut you off. I went twice because the wine selection is pretty good but both times I got the worst service. They also tried to have me pay double the price I paid the day before for the same bottle of wine. I told them how is it double a day later and then they said it was a discount they gave the day before. Do not recommend at all!

The best bar in all of San Juan! Impeccable friendly service, tastefully curated wines (THEY HAVE ORANGE WINE, multiple good ones!) a backyard, and delicious food. We ordered three rounds of the shishito peppers. The wings and disco fries were perfect too. Still thinking about the ever so slightly savory sesame martini as well. Overall an excellent bar for lovers of natural wines, elevated pub food, and good bohemian vibes.

Unidad is unique and gets a well deserved gold star from me. It is in fact my favorite bar to have ever visited and will remain a permanent staple in my visits to San Juan. The cocktails are made with an excellency that cannot compare to any place I have visited in other places. The bartenders are in fact the definition of mixological sorcerers, carefully crafting each elixir with an intoxication that can't be described. I came two nights in a row and left incredibly pleased. Make sure to reserve ahead of time, they have seen a surge in popularity and it's no longer a secret like it once was. There is no dress code, but I recommend looking a bit dapper for this one, as it has a charming esthetic. Although I am a bit of a frugal spender, the value of this place far exceeded my expectations and thus I feel it is justified in the pricing.

The cocktails are extraordinary. I got the smoky but berry fresh and the presentation was so great and the drink was amazing. We also got food and the steak was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend.

The cocktail game is A-1, no cap. On the hunt for a speakeasy in PR we stumbled upon this gem. The cocktails were very delicious and unique. The names are very clever and fun and the mixes were all intriguing. Tons of unique combinations of flavors. The interior is very dark and sexy. I recommend making a reservation as this saves headaches and time. I won't disclose how to find the spot because what's the fun in that lol. Enjoy the Hunt. The staff was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere inside is also very elegant and sexy. Next time I'm in PR I will make another visit. Definitely a date night spot and be prepared to pay for quality. Cocktails do range at $15 price tags but honestly you look.fir.these types of places to elevate your experience and sometimes that means digging a bit deeper into your pocket. Very much worth it.

I came back after almost a year from my original review and this bar and restaurant continuing to improving, their quality of drinks, food, security and customer services. During my last visit I saw a art exhibition from one of the bar's staff. It's by far one of my favorite's places. A unique bar, great environment, with nice decoration and outstanding customer service. It serve food with great taste and better variety of drinks. Enjoy with the company of your best friends and love one's.

What an incredible piece of history. Admission is cheap and covers both castles in the city. Be prepared for stairs. The triangle stairway has some really large stairs. The whole Fort is full of amazing views and cool displays. The breeze through the fort is so nice on those hot days. It's amazing to see all the work our National Parks are doing.

An Unforgettable Visit to Castillo San Felipe del Morro Visiting El Morro was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico. The moment you arrive, you can feel the history and pride that this fortress represents. Built in the 16th century by the Spanish, the structure stands majestically overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, offering breathtaking views and a deep sense of connection to the island’s past. The site is beautifully maintained — the grounds are clean, the pathways are easy to follow, and the walls and cannons have been wonderfully preserved. The staff members were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts and stories that helped bring the history of the fort to life. We spent a good amount of time exploring the tunnels, ramps, and lookout points, each one revealing another layer of the fort’s impressive design and purpose. It’s a great spot for both history lovers and families, with plenty of open space for walking and taking photos. Parking was convenient, with a nearby lot just a short walk away. I highly recommend adding Castillo San Felipe del Morro to your list when visiting Old San Juan — it’s more than just a landmark, it’s a journey back in time that leaves you proud and inspired.

Every step tells a story, and every view is postcard-worthy. I could’ve stayed there all day soaking in the beauty and energy of this incredible place! 😍🌊 Took my breath away. The views of the ocean and city are unreal — you can truly feel the history in every corner. Standing on those walls with the sea breeze and sound of the waves was such a peaceful, magical moment. Doors weren't open on Sunday when I visited. About 25 min from the hotel I was staying at and the airport. There is garage parking across the street for a reasonable fee. Credit cards are a min $10 charge.for the parking garage. The grounds are very big and you will get your steps in. Statue commemorating victory in defense from the dutch attack. Kite flying is a staple here because of the winds. Would love to come back and explore more when fully open.

This place is massive. If you attempt to walk the entire grounds definitely wear great walking shoes. Additionally you should have sunscreen, water, and snacks as this place took 4 hours to walk the entire property. Watch out for pickpockets as a member of our group was targeted. Overall even with the theft the whole place was a great adventure.

Such an incredible place to visit! A unique piece of OLD history right here in "the New World". A must-see in PR! The sites (the Castillo de San Felipe fort as well as Castillo San Cristobal) are well marked with interesting historical and educational information in Spanish and English. The National Park visitor center was informative. We happened to visit during the Government shutdown Oct. 2025 but the local government and good people of PR made sure to keep the site open to visitors and all of the staff that interacted with was so friendly and helpful. The sites are well kept, and visitors have many options of places to explore (tunnels, rooms, etc). There are clean bathroom facilities at each as well as drinking fountains, but it's still a good idea to bring a water bottle.

Historical castle from the 1500's that took 250 years to build. Our guide gave us a condensed version of its interesting past. The stairs are pretty steep and plentiful, so bring good shoes and a healthy heart.

This Spanish restaurant is good to visit if there is a flamenco show. Other days you may hear people training on the second floor. The restaurant is located in the heart of San Juan. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The recommendations were very helpful. I tried local beer, Spanish sangria and octopus with potatoes. I wouldn’t say that the food was very fresh, but not bad generally

Hidden gem! I hadn't heard about this place before stumbling upon it-- and I did research. Amazing flamenco dancing but the star of the show was the guitarist! He was OUTSTANDING! I can't believe that there is no additional charge for this. Food prices reasonable. Yummy tapas! Get a reservation for about a half hour before the show. We had no issue making one same day. Recommend!

We searched for a local place in Old San Juan offering a dinner and flamenco show. Triana's was the only place we could find. My first impression was that the place was very run down and in need of renovations/upgrades. We were shown to a rickety table up front, but we had a nice view of the performers. Our waiter wasn't overly friendly or patient. I wish he had been more helpful making food suggestions and telling us how much to order from the menu as it shows 1, 2, 3, main dish, etc., giving the impression that you should order from every section. The name says "tapas" - which to me means small plates - but everything we ordered was huge! So unless you are extremely hungry or want leftovers, don't order too many dishes. (Note: We loved the chickpea/sausage/shrimp tapa, and Lamb chops entree with side of beans and rice. DELICIOUS! Also, be aware that if you want water, they only serve pricey bottled water). As for the show, Juan Carlos was incredible. It was a real treat to see him perform on his guitar, although some of his humor decidedly wasn't funny and missed the mark. The 2 (younger) dancers who first accompanied Juan were okay but not great; however the third (older) flamenco dancer was PHENOMENAL!! Absolutely incredible footwork and energy...a real professional. When she and Juan performed together at the end of the show it was electric! Definitely the highlight of the evening. Overall, we enjoyed the food and show and were glad we visited Triana's but felt the experience could be improved with better ambiance, furnishings, and service.

I found this place after seeing someone recommend it on TikTok, and I’m so glad I went, it’s definitely a great hotspot! I went alone and still felt really comfortable. The lady who served me was incredibly friendly and made me feel very welcome. The red wine was delicious, the food was great, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. Service was also super quick. I paid around $50 including tip, which I thought was very reasonable. Highly recommend!

I sat at the bar, while service was good, the flamenco show was happening in the main dining room and was very loud. If you are in the main dining room it is a nice experience. I only had 2 tapas; Manchego and Chorizo with Mushrooms. Simple, Chorizo a bit saltier that it should, but it was fine. I find it odd that it wasn’t served with crackers or a crostini style bread, but instead when I asked- I was served a regular warm dinner roll which doesn’t really go with the dish or the concept of Spanish Tapas. The Red Sangria was the star of the dinner. Service was Excellent.

The flamenco show at Tiana tapas & Flamenco was so much fun!! However, we ordered the paella and it had zero flavor which we were very disappointed about especially since it was our last meal in Puerto Rico

The view here is ASTOUNDING. Definitely 5/5 for the view. Since I came in the early afternoon on a weekday, I was able to find the best table with the best view and have the entire floor to myself for a couple hours. I was able to read a book with this million dollar view as the background. The food was a bit worse than mediocre, hence the 4/5 star rating. The menu is very underwhelming with mostly subs, burgers and fries, etc. Maybe the chef was trying not to distract the customers from the view? then he's definitely done a great job.

Very lovely rooftop patio and bar! Really good food at a cost that is comparable to any restaurant nearby, except with a killer view! Seating indoor and outdoor but with cover, in case it rains. Staff are very polite, well spoken and quick to help with any needs you have. The only downfall was food takes a while to get out to you, averaging 30 minutes (and no vegetarian options except “sides”.) Right on the beach so you can enjoy your well poured drink overlooking the beach, or city. Definitely recommend for all ages and you don’t need to be a hotel guest to visit this place!

Great spot with spectacular view! Try to get there just before the sunset. Mofongo is delicious! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They play good music you can dance to.

Great view and really good service. The menu is unecclectant and the cocktails are uninspiring....still....go have a few and maybe order an app or 2 with your better half. The staff and the view will make the entire evening worth it all.

I was very excited to eat and have a drink here, however I'm going to say that the view at night from the side of the restaurant we were on was non existent. Watching a sunset would probably be amazing here, but we weren't able to get in until much later then that. The food, service and drinks were good and we enjoyed ourselves while here.

We came here for the views. We had a great waitress, she was honest and told us the food would take a while. We had shrimp mofongo and mini alcapurrias. They definitely took a while but weren’t bad! I never expect much from this type of bar when it comes to food but besides the wait, it wasn’t bad.

While the atmosphere and views here are great, the service was very very slow, but they were nice. It’s took 30 min to get one drink and the place was not busy. I’d recommend coming here for drinks, for the nice view. The food was not great, mofongo was dry and it lacked flavor even with adding ajillo sauce. Don’t recommend getting food here, if you only have 2 hours,it’ll take too long.

This place was a good spot ; it’s on the strip by the Perla. It’s usually a busy spot but we caught it on an empty night. Our waitress was amazing ! Literally so sweet. We really went for the alcapurrias , and end up having the carne frita which was a bit too salty but the onions and rice were to die for .

We visited La Vergüenza today – the food and drinks were excellent! I had the Passionfruit Mojito and the wings – both were super tasty. Our server Janelys was such a cheerful and refreshing personality – she really made our evening! We’ll definitely be coming back.

Came to work from here with my laptop in the afternoon but still wanted to have a chill fun atmosphere. My server Kelvin made the best mixed drinks, to my liking, on the roof deck. Reggae style music and his great service made it the perfect vibe to have just enough fun while still getting some work done! I’ll def be coming back!

Awesome Old San Juan alley bar! I have been to the SJ area a half a dozen times (usually for the day on a cruise, but also for a long weekend), and I always end up here at some point. Just off of Plaza Colón (which is long overdue for a post-colonial rebrand/update; I vote for Pedro Albizu Campos or Roberto Clemente), so it is just a short walk from the cruise terminal. Great mix of locals and tourists (and cruise crew members) and cheap Puerto Rican cervezas and drink/shot specials! The long narrow bar is wallpapered with dollar bills and decorated with Puerto Rican art. Pick up some street food from Plaza Colón (or a mofungo from Yeyos a few doors down) and stop in for a cold Medalla (or 3 or 5).

I absolutely LOVED this bar! It was soooo beautiful; not to mention, Miguel was the best bartender I’ve ever met!! He took great care of my bf and I for my 21st birthday this week! There are various shot flavors that will knock your socks off! Will be returning soon :)

I went here on March 19th 2023 (2:00 AM). My 5 friends decided to go here since it was late. I really wanted to like it, but sadly I had the worst drink in my life here. A lot of stuff was out of stock that night so we all decided on the passion fruit paprika drink. Not a single one of us enjoyed the drink. It was *inedible*. It had no passion fruit flavor. 0 sweetness. I also specifically asked for no paprika in mine. They didn’t listen. I took one sip and ALL I tasted was bad smoke from the paprika flavor that was overdone. My friend described it as lead. All 6 of us ended up throwing away that drink full. It was a waste of money and time. I’m hesitant to give it a second chance 😞…

Best food in Condado (and we tried many restaurants in the area) We went here twice and every single dish was excellent. We are vegetarian and loved the corn and pumpkin soups, the salad, the main veggie dish, and even a side of rice and beans. So good! The restaurant has three distinct floors, two of them outdoor with a beautiful breeze and oceanfront view. The staff were incredibly nice and kid friendly.

Oh. My. God. The food was amazing, everything we had. The seafood ceviche, the duck mofongo, the fish the drinks, I cannot express how much you will be sorry if you miss it. I suggest a reservation, the food is good and everyone knows. There is also amazing beach front seating on the patios! I would suggest this as a date restaurant, families go but I would not take kids. Its a very sexy place and the bar was amazing! Great, just great everything.

This place is a must if you are visiting San Juan! I want to say that the food was great but the service was AMAZING!! The staff were very attentive and professional. We ordered the calamari and ropa vieja for appetizers which were quickly bought out, they were tasteful and great portions. For entrees we both ordered the surf and turf which was the best steak and lobster I ever had, the lobster was fresh and steak cooked perfectly to my liking. Overall the experience was 5 stars, the cherry on top was the spectacular view.

The view is amazing. I think the food was fine, even good. It was just not as good as I expected. The drinks were over priced and small. And I thought that the plastic furniture was a miss. Don’t get me wrong, I still have it 4 stars. I just was not as impressed as my friends thought I would be. Planning a 40-50 person wedding in San Juan is not easy if you're on a budget, but Oceano fit all of our needs. We started out looking at the hotels but felt the minium consumption was over the top for what you get. Oceano offered a spectacular view, privacy, and amazing food at a fair price. Negotiations and changes to our contract were all handled by Juan Carlos with the utmost professionalism. We were blown away by the tasting and on the wedding day, our guests raved about the food. The bartenders were on point with fast personal service. We had the pork carving station at our cocktail hour on the 3rd floor and the guests seriously would not stop talking about how delicious the pasta was. My husband's 85-year-old Abuela said the pork was on point, and she's a tough critic! With our 39 guests, Oceano's 2nd floor provided plenty of room for dancing and partying and we were not disturbed by any patrons and music volume was never an issue. Even if we'd had all our 50 guests RSVP I don't think it would have been too tight. The DJ was able to have music on both the 2nd and 3rd floors simultaneously. Do yourself a favor and have the white glove service! The staff at Oceano were so professional, none of my guests realized it was a buffet. The service was phenomenal. No guests waiting in lines or fumbling and spilling dinner on their dresses! Thank you so much Juan Carlos! We really had the best night ever dancing and partying all night with our family!

We were able to get an amazing ocean front table for two around 9pm, same day at Oceano. we were waited on my Gabrielle who was accommodating and thoughtful. The food was served warm (not very hot). The flavors were good. The appetizer was excellent. We mentioned to Gabrielle that we were celebrating a special occasion, she made it a wonderful evening with sparkling wine and dessert too.

Loved my entire surf and turf dish!!! Very tasty!!! The red snapper dish could have used a little more seasoning. We had a Sunday night reservation at 8:30 PM, but unfortunately the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. The space itself is undeniably beautiful — dimly lit, elegant, and centered around a live grand piano performance that added a calm, sophisticated touch to the evening. Note: there’s a $10 cover charge after a certain time, which is good to know upfront. 🍽️ Food & Drinks Our food came out quickly once we finally ordered. The steak was decent — nothing special, but well-cooked. I had been really looking forward to trying the paella, but was disappointed to hear they were out of it for the night. It definitely left a gap in the experience since it was one of their highlight dishes. 👨‍🍳 Service & Hospitality Service was the biggest miss. Our assigned server was largely absent, and we often had to flag down other staff just to move the evening along — from ordering to refills to the check. The Canon Club in Old San Juan is one of our favorite intimate experiences we had in Puerto Rico. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and full of energy. The highlight was definitely the piano room with live music, beautiful performances, and a cozy, intimate setting that made the night feel really special. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay for hours just soaking it all in. Our waiter was our favorite!!! She was so friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. It’s rare to have service that stands out this much, but she really went above and beyond to make sure our group had a wonderful time. The food and drinks were good as well. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and paired perfectly with the lively setting. We all got a variety of different things, and the flan at the end was sooooo yummy. A quick tip for anyone planning to visit: make a reservation for the piano room ahead of time. It fills up quickly depending on the day, and there’s a $10 per person charge for dining there, but it’s absolutely worth it.

YEP there’s a cool trio playing live music on a Saturday night 🎹🎼 but very tough to get seats in the small room unless u have reservations. So we sat at the bar and enjoyed the cool vibe/atmosphere. The Bartenders were cranking out cocktails 🍸🍹🍺. The lively place has lots of history to share so if u can get in, it’s worth a visit!

Outstanding Service & Amazing Food at The Cannon Club in Old San Juan I had an incredible dinner at The Cannon Club in the heart of historical Old San Juan. I ordered the lobster ravioli and toasted coconut shrimp and both were absolutely delicious! As a coffee lover, I also tried their coffee with coconut milk and I loved it. ☕️🥥 What truly made the experience unforgettable was our waitress, Yesenia. Her service was top-notch, friendly, and full of positive energy. My friends and I adored her attention to detail and warm personality. If you go, make sure to ask for Yesenia, she truly makes the difference and turns a great meal into an exceptional experience. Highly recommend! 🌟

The service and the environment was wonderful! The rooftop terrace had a chill ocean breeze and you could still listen to the live music playing downstairs through their speakers. The food menu is incredible! My friend got the NY Steak and I ordered the lobster ravioli. For starters we shared the ham croquetas and ceviche. Absolutely delicious! Would love to go back!

Excellent food and service. Our waitress,Maddi, did an excellent job! The garlic mushrooms were awesome. The cover charge wasn’t mentioned. We still would have done but it would have been nice to not be shocked on the bill.

The saving grace to our experience was the shrimp with pineapple and the aioli and our lovely server. Now the worst - The sweet and sour meatballs straight up tasted like something out of Chef Boyardee canned ravioli or the meatballs that come in them. We took a bite and were like nope. Luckily our server gave us grace and offered for us to get a replacement, which we did again with the shrimps. No wait for a table on a Tuesday night. We sat on a high table on the balcony which so cool to people watch. Drinks were okay.

Hidden gem in Old San Juan. Located on the second floor of a lovely historical building, with arched balconies overlooking the picturesque views of this magestic part of town. The design is sophisticated, ambience is chill and pleasant Food is delicious and the cocktails are absolutely amazing. Bonus - the downstairs cafe of St. Germain is also highly recommended

We had such an amazing dinner here. The tapas were great but our server was better! Adrienne was our best server of the trip! She went above and beyond to make sure our friend's anniversary dinner was special and gave great food suggestions. We loved all the tapas except the Mac and cheese. Restaurant Seemed sketchy from the outside but we went up the stairs and loved it all.

This is a great place and location. Right down in old San Juan on the 2nd floor, they have a bunch of drink specials and great food. We visited on a Saturday night. This place was happening with a lot of traffic. We were able to sit on the balcony, and people watched for a while and had a little dinner and some cocktails while we sat here and people watched. It's a lot of fun. Definitely stop by.

We stumbled upon this sweet spot on a Thurs around 5pm. The service was top of the line. The food was delicious. We had the ceviche and patata bravas. It’s a vibe. Editing to add: we came back an additional four more times during our trip. The brunch was stellar. We had mimosas and an incredible brunch. You guys are amazing!

Eloy and Lorna were magnificent! The experience was nothing short of perfect. The ambiance was relaxing. Dim lit, music not too loud, and balcony seating for two. It is freaking awesome. Very romantic. Came here for our honeymoon and this place was absolutely a highlight. In fact, we had brunch downstairs at the St. Germaine (same owners, different aesthetic and vibe- both outstanding) and now we are here for cocktails and dinner. We will be returning to Puerto Rico just for this experience. Both Eloy and Lorna were very informed and shared the rich history and significance of this particular establishment on Puerto Rico’s history. Just awesome. Don’t miss out.

As always, this is just my personal review. This place has its own style—if you're looking for a Mojito or other ordinary drinks, you’d better look elsewhere. Here, cocktails are for those who appreciate style and authenticity. They do have familiar drinks, but for the full experience, it's best to go for their signature cocktails. As for whether I’d come back—definitely yes! And if you have the time, visit the rooftop in the evening—it’s an unforgettable experience.

Nice place in the streets of old San Juan with a great Atmosphere, good stop if you need a break to get out of the sun with very detailed cocktail menu. Had the Claude and Sherry was clean with smooth finish with their rum. Should have tried on the rocks but was pressed for time but was happy with my choice.

Their house rum was quite delicious. We had time to kill for a reservation so we came upon this place and so happy we did. Their prices atmosphere was relaxing. The staff were upbeat and service was fast. Their prices were more than fair. All Their all the rum we tried was seriously delicious. I definitely should have bought more bottles. Overall if you’re looking for a chill place to hang and sip tasty rum give them a chance.

A Hidden Gem in Puerto Rico! Scryer Rum is truly a hidden gem. Their house rum is absolutely delicious — smooth, rich, and unlike anything else I’ve tried. I’ve visited several whiskey distilleries across the U.S. and abroad, and this place easily ranks at the top of my list. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the passion behind their craft really shows in every detail. My only wish is that they could sell their rum directly on location, but beyond that, everything about the experience was outstanding. If you’re in Puerto Rico and enjoy spirits, this is a must-visit spot. Highly recommend!

Delicious rum that tastes more like bourbon. Fun location. Mixed drinks are quite pricey and their spin on a pina colada left much to be desired. I'd love to get the rum at home for sipping.

This is a music venue. When I was 16 and went to a place and they didn't have paper in the bathroom, I was like, that's just part of it. Places are new, the crowd is young. But this place is now 16 years old. Please have paper in your bathrooms.

Bartenders and service were great and super knowledgable. I highly recommend the Cocolo which is extra refreshing on warm days, other highlights included the Beso de Marcel and a Paper Plane. If you ask the bartenders, they can pretty much make anything for you and it'll be great like the Boulevardier I had.

This isn’t food. It’s cocktails. Better than anywhere on the islands. These people know how to make drinks. I asked for a cocktail commemorating our time in the Caribbean, evoking its beauty. He made me a wonderful smooth Caribbean old-fashioned with Kahlua and chocolate bitters. Then I asked for something reflecting the fruit and flavors of the islands and he made a coconut rum drink that was smooth, distinctive and multi-flavored. Finally (my wife and I were sharing these) I asked him for his version of a classic, and he made a wonderful Daquiri with pineapple rum. These are served in proper glasses. I wanted to stay but had to go to dinner. I left full of ideas for my own cocktails.

I mean…the drinks were good…but this place was a bit rough around the edges. The guy working there was cleaning the floors and was putting the nasty bucket of mop water on the counter. On the drink stand. Right next to us. (See filthy red bucket in photo right next to the clean glasses.) also they had a massive fruit fly infestation. They were covering everything. Maybe we found them on a bad day since all the other reviews are amazing but dang. Can’t get past the mop water.

Definitely the most relaxed bar in La Factoria but it didn’t have the same fun and unique vibe. Maybe a nice place to start your experience before moving inside

The bartenders here, in the times that I have visited, are kind of rude. Aside from that, the drinks are out of this world! World class mixology, beautiful garnishes. The atmosphere is top notch. Not a place you want to miss.

My partner and I returned to El Condado, Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan, PR and once again, we are not disappointed. I want to start by commending Christian who works at the VC Lounge, he is the main reason we return to the lounge. He makes us feel like VIP and ensures we are happy with the food, beverages and service. This to me comes a long way. I don’t like trying new places, tend to return to places where the service, food and atmosphere are tops! This is what Christian brings to the table. Also, want to say thank you to Juancarlo Vazquez, as he ensured our accommodations were in order. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Christian and Juancarlo!

VC Lounge at the Condado Vanderbilt is an elegant hideaway right by the ocean—perfect for unwinding with a drink and incredible sunset views. From the moment you walk in you’re treated with respect. They kick things off by bringing you water without you even asking or paying extra. The back terrace facing the Atlantic is stunning. Watching the sun dip behind the ocean while you sip is worth the visit alone. They do complimentary bar snacks—nuts, olives, and cumin kettle corn—and they are surprisingly good. Not basic, but thoughtfully curated to match the vibe. I ordered an Old Fashioned and my partner had an Aperol Spritz. Yeah the drinks run around $20 apiece, but trust me, the service, the view, and the quality make it worth every cent. When I asked for two Luxardo cherries in my Old Fashioned, they went above and delivered with four. Didn’t need four, but that’s how you earn loyalty. Standard pricing before tax and tip puts two cocktails just over $50. It’s definitely not an every-night kind of place. But for a date night or a treat-yourself moment, it’s unbeatable. VC Lounge is beautiful, the service is spot-on, the cocktails are solid, and the atmosphere is serene. Just be prepared to spend a little. I’ll happily go back.

Excellent cocktails, with beautiful ambiance. Expensive but it is a 5 star hotel. Update: years passed and I have revisited several times, the drinks are still stunning. Certainly some of the best cocktails I have had.

This is where the locals hang out on Sunday from noon until late at night. Salsa, cha cha cha, guajira, plena, bomba and all Kinds of afro-caribbean music to enjoy. Beers, cocktails and delicious puertorican food.

Slow, bad service. Overpriced for the kind of food that is served. Was expecting more, the server had an attitude. Will not.return and neither recommend it.

We really did enjoy visiting this location and the tour of the facility. This excursion was part of our cruise visit to San Juan, and we are glad that we selected the fort for our activity during the trip. The fort's historical and paranormal aspects motivated us to include it on our list of places to visit, and we are pleased to have checked it off our bucket list. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the San Juan area.

This place is breathtaking. The views are stunning. Definitely a must visit in PR. It’s within the beautiful Old San Juan so a lot to see around. Their gift shop is really nice and has interesting books about Taino culture, Puerto Rico, and US Parks. You can get your park passport stamp here as well.

So I was here in port on the Carnival Venezia 11/4/25. We had a rainforest tour , San Cristobal Castle tour and Old San Juan Walking Tour from 7am to 3pm. It was a pretty good deal. We only had 45 minutes in the castle and we needed about three hours to see the whole thing. It was built in 1634 and it took 150 years to build . If you are here , it’s a must see !! With your pass , you also get access to the castle down the road (1mile) because it is all owed and run by the federal government (USA) as a national historic site . Please go , you won’t be disappointed !!

$10 for adults. Free for those under 15. Definitely worth checking out. Expect to walk a lot. Nice bathrooms. Bring bottled water and snacks. Credit card only! Yes AMEX accepted. But no cash ... Side note, pay for entry here, and you also get in free to the other castle that's about 15 min walk away. Great idea to come here, and expect to stay two hours in my opinion. Would love to have done a guided tour but did a self tour.

A Must-See Piece of Puerto Rican History! Visiting San Cristóbal Castle was one of the highlights of my trip to Old San Juan. The views alone are worth the visit—panoramic sights of the Atlantic Ocean and the colorful city below. You can really feel the history walking through the tunnels, dungeons, and massive stone walls. The fortress is incredibly well-preserved, and the info plaques throughout make it easy to understand how it was used to defend the island. I recommend going early in the day to beat the heat and crowds. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—it’s a lot of walking, but so worth it. Whether you're into history, photography, or just taking in some of the best views on the island, San Cristóbal is a must-visit in Puerto Rico.

Beautiful old fort in the Middle of San Juan. The price is great and includes the other castle as well. A little hard to grab a taxi out side this fort. The exhibits and the views are so cool and give a glimpse into the life of the people back then. Really a cool time to check out a national park and a world heritage site.

Many people only go to El Morro and skip this one, but believe me it’s definitely worth to see it too! It’s $10 only to visit both San Cristobal and El Morro (so if you’re going to El Morro, you can basically come here on the same ticket for free).

Breathtaking. Solemn. Beautiful. Its one of North America's oldest church built in the 1600's. Catedral de San Juan is 500 years old. Its the highlight of our frequent visit at Old San Juan.

Beautiful Church and history shared at the entrance. We bought a souvenir and the lady suggested that the Priest can blessed our purchase. The Priest did it without hesitation. We felt so blessed that day. ☺️ There's restaurants near the Basilica.

Beautiful Mass and Special Cathedral and Basilica. Ponce De leon is buried here. Also, major relics for Blessed Carlos Manuel Rodriquez and Saint Pius (1st century Rome).

Nice little place to look at the craftsmanship it’s free to go to but they would like donations. It worth stopping and looking at it.

Catedral de San Juan Bautista is a must-see while in Old San Juan. The tranquill atmosphere and stunning architecture are captivating. It's a serene place to both admire the beautiful stained glass windows and feel the weight of its long history, particularly when visiting the tomb of Juan Ponce de León. The cathedral is an active place of worship but is very welcoming to visitors, making it a perfect, quick stop during a walk through the city.

Worth seeing. Second oldest basilica in the western hemisphere. They are restoring it as funds allow. Free entry, donation recommended($3). Also has a small gift shop where I bought a lovely rosary, and I am not Catholic!

Beautiful church to attend Sunday mass in San Juan! The mass was in Spanish, but the homily was in both languages. Definitely come and visit to say some prayers when visiting VSJ!

Condado Beach is a beautiful spot with golden sand, clear blue water, and a great vibe overall. It’s perfect for sunbathing, relaxing, or just enjoying the ocean views. That said, the waves were very strong when I visited, and the current looked dangerous—definitely not ideal for swimming. There are warning signs posted, so be cautious if you go in the water. Still a great place to hang out and take in the scenery!

Definitely an awesome beach for swimming. Just be mindful there are riptides around. Definitely don’t count on the life guards we caught them sleeping multiple times or always on their phone. Tons of people walk on the beach even there areas that claim to be private so don’t leave valuables out. Overall if you’re there to relax or swim this is the place to be.

Condado Beach is absolutely stunning! The crystal-clear blue waters are mesmerizing and create the perfect setting for a relaxing day by the ocean. The sandy beach is soft and inviting, making it an ideal spot to lay out a towel and soak up the sun. The surrounding area adds to the beauty, with palm trees and a vibrant atmosphere that gives you that perfect tropical getaway vibe. I highly recommend this beach to anyone visiting San Juan. It’s truly a must-see! Just be mindful of the occasional strong currents.

Not the best beach in PR or even in San Juan, but still a nice beach nonetheless

Such a beautiful place!!! The waves are humongous yet super gorgeous. Definitely took a swim and had a wonderful time. This place is perfect for surfing and boogie boarding!! They also have a high point to watch the waves splash in (like a mini board walk). Seeing the blue and green water and a few crabs here and there on the rocks made this experience a sight to see. I mist come back again!!

Great beach. Plenty of space. Beach chairs and umbrella available for rent ($20) but only until 5p. Plenty of food options near. Waves a little rough but the place is beautiful. Great beach to check out when in San Juan, P.R.

Majestic view. Be prepared to walk, a lot and there's hills and stairs. The breeze from the ocean was a welcomed relief from the heat but it was hot! Ticket cost $10 which is good for touring both forts. Interesting historical location.

La Puerta de San Juan is a beautiful and historic landmark that feels like stepping back in time. Walking through the massive red gate, you can really imagine what it was like when ships once arrived here hundreds of years ago. The gate opens up to the charming cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, surrounded by colorful buildings, history, and culture everywhere you look. The area is very well preserved and makes for great photos, especially with the waterfront right beside it. It’s peaceful yet full of life, and visiting gives you a true sense of Puerto Rico’s history and Spanish colonial past. It’s one of those spots you can’t miss when exploring Old San Juan — simple, beautiful, and full of meaning.

During my week in San Juan, I enjoyed taking multiple strolls here. Can't say enough about the beauty and tranquility of this site (especially during the sunset).

Finally, we had the pleasure of visiting Puerto Rico. Visiting Bad Bunny's bar and lots of good shopping in the area. Also learned that San Juan was named after John the Baptist. 😲

La Puerta de San Juan is a beautiful historic landmark full of charm and history. Walking through it feels like stepping back in time, and it’s a must-see when exploring Old San Juan.

A beautiful place to visit with family and friends. If you are taking the walk outside the walls Be sure to bring plenty of water and use sunscreen, the sun is always at his best in this area. Perfect picture spot

Very beautiful and amazing place for a wonderful experience of the island, all I can say is wow!

Important cultural institution. It has one of the most incredible gardens I have ever seen and an exceptional art collection that narrates you through the amazing history of Puerto Rican artists. It goes without saying that this is a must while visiting San Juan.

My husband and I spent a little over 2 and half hours. The different exhibits to see and information on them written in Spanish and English. If you pay the extra $3 you can see the special exhibits they also have going on. Plus, they have the beautiful botinical garden in the back of the building with a great walking path to see everything. They also have sculptures too.

There were a lot of people in line for the Bad Bunny exhibition but we only visited the museum itself and there was no wait. The museum was amazing. It made me and friend learned so much about Puerto Rican history and culture. I recommend spending 1.5 hour+ there to really get a close look into the stories behind the artworks. As Taiwanese, we resonated so much with the history of Puerto Rico as both countries had gone through so much due to colonization yet preserved our cultures through resilience and pride❤️

What a wonderful place to learn about Puerto Rican art and history. Staff are super friendly and knowledgable (especially Jose who was incredible!) and you can spend hours there exploring and learning. And don’t forget the beautiful garden!

I really recommend this for art lovers. This is an excellent exhibition with very interesting artists. It also has a library, a park with statues, activity rooms and more. See some photos I attach.

Beautiful museum. It is very nice to learn more about Puerto Rican culture through this museum. The outside was very nice and relaxing too.

After our flight was delayed we had some time to kill and thank goodness. We would have missed this gem. So much good stuff and a pleasant stroll through the park as well.

This chapel was built between 1753 and 1780, Tucked away in the corner of the old walled city of San Juan is a tiny chapel. It was built on top of the ancient stone walls that protected Puerto Rico’s capital in 1753 to celebrate a miracle. Since then, tens of thousands of faithful visitors have come to this humble chapel to pray for cures. it is near to famous La Fortaleza street. As stated by guide - It is said, that in the year 1750 Cristo Street was host to a horse race where one of the participants could not stop his horse and fell off the cliff. The Secretary of Government at the time, Don Tomás Mateo Prats is said to have invoked the Santo Cristo de la Salud and that the young man who fell off the cliff was saved. And so, the Secretary of Government ordered the construction of the chapel on sight to honor the miracle. It was later revealed that the young man died, but still, this chapel has a distinctly spiritual feel to it. How to better start your journey than in this miracle sight!

This was a beautiful place to stop for pictures. I really appreciate the Spanish architecture of the chapel. Built in the 1800s, it's younger than a lot of the other landmarks but it looks just as old.

This chapel nestled in the streets of old San Juan is a mandatory stop since it is located next to the Parque de las Palomas. It is very old, small and cozy in plain sight, with its virgins and crucifixes.

Capilla del Santo Cristo de la Salud. Chapel of Holy Christ of Health. This information below was used from a Google search I did for this Chapel. As the story goes, during the San Juan Bautista celebrations of 1753 a rider, Baltazar Montanez, lost control of his horse and plunged to the cliffs below. The Spanish Secretary of Government Don Mateo Pratts was watching the drama unfold from a nearby balcony, and allegedly cried out, “Christ of Good Health, save him!” Though the horse didn’t survive the fall, the young rider did. Tucked away in the corner of the old walled city of San Juan is a tiny chapel, one of the most beautiful and secluded monuments in the old capital. It was built on top of the ancient stone walls that protected Puerto Rico's capital in 1753 to celebrate a miracle. Since then, tens of thousands of faithful visitors have come to this humble chapel to pray for cures. That same year, Montanez built the small chapel on the exact spot where he fell over the cliff. The altar was built in shining silver and gold leaf, surrounded by beautiful oil paintings by the famous Puerto Rican artist Jose Campeche. Much of the modestly sized but immaculately appointed chapel hasn’t changed since then. But  over the decades it has been slowly added to by believers who come to the chapel seeking their own miracles. Tiny silver ornaments decorate the chapel, each one representing some ailing part of the body. These small milagros, or miracles, represent a cause of pain for the pilgrims, and take the form of miniature silver legs, arms, hearts, and lungs. Today the church is reverentially cared for by a group of local women, volunteers called “La Hermandad del Santo Cristo de la Salud” (The Sisterhood of the Holy Christ of Health). It is only open on Tuesdays and religious days. This location is right next to the park of El Parque Las Palomas. They are side by side, can't miss this spot. You also have La Casa Estrecha which is located right on the opposite side of the park.

I wasn’t able to go in when I went. However I did see all these pigeons by there. I took pics. It looks really old, and awesome from the outside.

I visited here during my trip to Puerto Rico. During the time CoVid protocols were strict and the chapel was closed. I’d walk by on a daily basis but the gates were locked. Lots of pigeons would frequent the area as it connects to a park in Old San Juan . Hope to see the inside one day

The museum is undergoing renovation, but it doesn't interfere with one's enjoyment of the place. There's a $6 fee. The exhibits are divided into 8 Salas and cover the scope of Puerto Rican history. I especially liked the exhibition of Henrrique Méndez Cąratini. Not a part of the museum, but on the 3rd floor of the complex is an exhibition of La Borinqueña, the PR super-heroine created by Edgardo Miranda Rodriguez. The area has other museums, El Morro, and the Viejo San Juan Cemetery, to name a few. Plan on 4-5 hours in the area to catch all the sights.

A little renovation going on but only 1 section was closed. Staff was friendly. Not a big museum but still enjoyable.

Amazing experience - 10/10 recommend if visiting San Juan 🌟 it’s a good mix of history (Indigenous, European and African) as well as contemporary with two exhibits by living Puerto Rican artists. Especially recommend on a rainy day since most activities here are outdoors - there’s even a cafe onsite in case you get hungry. They do take a break around 12 for lunch so factor that in (I grabbed a coffee and was able to reenter no problem). Beautiful works and rich history! 🇵🇷✨

An important worldly cultural institution that goes through the history and art of the Americas. Strongly recommend and this museum has incredibly influenced me.

The exhibit on colonialism was deeply moving and highly impactful. I was there a week ago, and still thinking about it. Strongly recommend.

Very pleased with the museum. Showed the Taino beginnings to colonization with the trans Atlantic slavery trade and post Jones Act life.

Has a ton of interesting and beautiful exhibits to see. Would not expect a little kid to stay interested/do well inside.

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews but we were disappointed. The food was good but nothing to rave about. Our waiter was so sweet and always checked up on us. Unfortunately, what ruined it for us was the managers attitude towards us when he saw 4-5 pigeons attack our table and eat our food within seconds of it being placed in front of us. We were told "next time just shoo them away they are just hungry" and he acted like it was an inconvenience to remake our food. Won't be back

While we didn’t wait to be seated we did sit for a good 10-15 minutes before we had to personally stop a server to ask for drinks and menus. Once we did that service was quick and our server was great. Everyone in my party got different dishes and I wasn’t overly impressed with mine (the rum chicken with fried plantains) but the skirt steak my friend got was delicious. The rice and beans were also delicious. The atmosphere was very cute and the water views were nice but the sun was a bit blinding on the back patio even being under the flower ceiling they have. No fault of theirs just something to be mindful of depending on the time of day you visit.

Definitely go for the Ambience and service, the look and feel were great, cocktails for sure…. NOW IF YOUR HUNGRY go somewhere else, the food was poor my daughter and I had two plates of the Chicharron de pollo (fried chicken chunks) and it the chicken was fried maybe a day or two days before it was dry and bland. Wife had the Carne the Cerdo frita (fried pork chunks) with Rice and beans, the side was miles ahead of the protein again not fresh and over cooked, dry and bland. Only saving grace was my son who had the Rum glazed wings those looked and tasted fresh, plumpy and the glaze was great….

Enjoyed almost all the food. Service was amazing and actually authentic to be right by the port and a tourist grab spot. Drink were exceptional! Amazing view when seating outside at the bar.

This was our first time visiting La Casita de Rones in Old San Juan and it was a good experience. The back patio is great as it overlooks the ocean and overall has a nice vibe. The food was good, pictured is the Fish Tacos and the chicken breast dinner. The drinks were also good, but had to be put in plastic cups due to a water shortage issue. Overall a good experience and we would visit again.

Had a rum old fashioned and the skirt steak tacos, for an appetizer we had Firecracker dumplings. The food was delicious, tons of flavor. How we described it amongst our group, the food was cooked with pride and soul, the chicken was juicy and crispy, the steak was tender and full of flavor. The rice with our friend’s dishes was seasoned and full of flavor, was worth the wait for our food.

Stopped by this bar at La Casita (pink) in Old San Juan with the intention of enjoying a nice cocktail before taking the ferry to Cataño for dinner. My husband and I felt that we were being totally ignored and not welcome by the woman bartending. She placed two glasses of cold waters in front of us without saying a word. We ask for two mojitos and she insisted that we download the menu before serving us drinks. She then went on chatting, more like flirting away with a customer that looked like he’d had enough! The prices are ridiculously high and I’m sure that she’s not a talented mixologist, so thank you lady for ignoring us, because we saved our money and went to a much better place…Nono’s Bar 🙌🏽🍹🥰

Also known as the Palace of St. Catherine, in honor of St. Catherine of Alexandria. The Executive Mansion is the oldest in continuous use in the New World. It is part of the World Heritage and National Historic Site of San Juan. Without a doubt, a place to visit and visit. With high walls, huge gardens and beautiful views that delight its great splendor as a fortress. Visiting its interior, knowing its history is super interesting.

Visited this popular street during our vacation in San Juan. There was security all around and we could not enter the street during the daytime. 2 days later, we visited in the evening and they let us enter for about 10 mins for a light show. The street looks beautiful with the lights. Area is super crowded and difficult to find street parking. We wish it could be decorated with umbrellas like in the past.

The tour was quite basic; we were only allowed access to the exteriors of the fortress. We were disappointed because we thought we would see the interiors, but apparently that's a luxury reserved only for influencers or public figures.

I didn’t go in but looks really cool from the outside. You can take pics at the top of the hill and then walk down around it for free.

The official residence of the Governor or Puerto Rico. Built between 1533 and 1540 to defend the harbor of San Juan. It is the oldest executive mansion in continuous use in the New World. Listed by UNESCO in 1983 as part of the World Heritage Site. La Fortaleza was captured in 1598 by George Clifford, Earl of Cumberland and in 1625 by General Boudenwijn Hendrick of the Netherlands. In 1898, just before the US invaded Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War, the last Spanish governor of the island, Ricardo De Ortega, struck a long case clock with his sword, stopping the clock and marking the time at which Spain lost control over Puerto Rico.

This is so worth the effort to make a reservation (also make sure to bring something to cover shoulders or short skirts)! My guide, Sabrina (I think), was stellar. She knew everything I could think of to ask and more. I could tell she genuinely enjoyed her work, and she was very kind allowing for my note taking and pictures! Not only is this the third (and oldest) of the major forts in San Juan, but after you visit you can also visit the active religious hospice care facility run by a group of nuns that is otherwise inaccessible from the street. Not only is their chapel lovely and their cause worthy to donate to, but they may also take you to their balcony for one of the best views on the island and of the full side of La Fortaleza from above!

Great place, this event is called experiencia sinfonica, and it's so that students get a better idea of how it is to be in a professional orquestra. It happens once a year, and I definitely recommend.

The building is surrounded by striking sculptures and elegant landscaping that set the mood even before you step inside. The harmony between the outdoor art and the performances within creates a unique, immersive experience. Whether you're here for a concert, a play, or a ballet, the atmosphere truly enhances the moment. A must-visit spot when there's a show — the whole place comes alive!

Great theatre! It was my first time on the Centro de Bellas Artes and I was stunned by its beauty. I am happy that my island has such a great place for performances. I went to see Hamilton with Lin, and everything was perfect. I don't think there was a bad seat in the house.

Amazing to experience a production in this incredible performance space! Superb sound system and impressive lighting! The audiences are equally passionate about the productions as the performers!

We go here regularly for the use of the suites for a modeling thing my gf is involved in. But it seems that any group can rent space for use there to hold there event practices or geoups activities.

Went to Sala de Festivales Antonio Paoli for the "Casi Normales" musical. It was a very very wonderful musical and the theater is renovated. On the other hand, they have a considerable amount of space for the parking garage.

Rich, private, well kept and organized. Unfortunately the staff is not as thrilled for visitors, but as an introvert that worked out in my favor as I like to take my own pace and time absorbing all the art in. Parking was free and very accommodating. Definitely recommend. The building itself is very nice for photo ops.

Beautiful museum! It’s easy to navigate and very welcoming. The work is very detailed! We got to see the political exhibition surrounding tourism. I loved it and wish more people visiting the island would support the museum and learn something for once. Tickets were $8/person for expats

Not worth it. Useless staff, rude, on the phone all the time and even the room guards were mocking elder visitors. and... don't you dare ask anything to anyone here. Everybody will roll their eyes or become annoyed almost instantly. Worst museum I ever visited. Artwork was ok but not really for the enjoyment of career artists. Hallways smelled like pot, youngsters, specially girls, looked shabby and were making faces after my girlfriend ask questions about the museum. I recommend the Museum of Puerto Rico, not this garbage. The guy on the ticket center was really disrespectful and depression was the main energy of this place. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!

I visited for a school play and talent spectacle and is a beautiful place.

It's a small theater in Old San Juan, where you can see theater play in some days. The construction began in 1826.

This is the oldest permanent theatre in Puerto Rico. It is beautiful and stunning. The main floor seats are comfortable the balcony seats not so much. Great view from anywhere. You will be looking a couple of times at the elegant chandelier.

Graduation day of my son. Somewhat unorganized, after graduation, they hurry us to leave and doesn't let me take photos inside with my son.

Lovely old theater. The seats are so old and hard that one gets uncomfortable immediately.

Excellent small museum with an attentive and informative bilingual docent. They have a friendly cat named Lily that sits in front of the door. We left feeling inspired by such a strong woman’s legacy.

Luis, the caretaker of the museum, is a wealth of knowledge and dedicated to all things Dona Fela. There wasn’t a question he didn’t answered. I even got the famous pics of Eastern Airlines delivering snow from the states, so children’s in San Juan could see it. I know Puerto Rico tourism board focuses on all things related to sun and beach activities, but I strongly believe it should put emphasis of famous figures and their legacy to the island. Kudos!!!!

Interesting piece of San Juan history. Home of first female mayor who did alot for the people like creating a Head Start program for children.

Felisa Rincón was a very famous mayor of the city of San Juan. She is known for her love of children( she started the head start program in Puerto Rico ), for having brought snow to Puerto Rico, helping the impoverished, style & fashion, amongst many other things ( not to mention her mayoral skills.) This museum is situated in one of her domiciles, and it contains artifacts, furnishings, and documents of her life. The museum is free, although donations are encouraged, and the knowledgeable docents are eager to tell you all about this famous mayor of San Juan.

This is a must experience museum; I only wish I had been able to do it earlier in my stay as not only does it fully enlighten visitors about Dona Felisa Rincon, the 1st female mayor of San Juan, but it also connects so many pieces of PR history and character integral to the city. The home and furnishings are all original and packed with meaningful memorabilia, art and history. The guide, Luis, and his staff, Deborah, were boundless in knowledge, passion, and patience with my questions! An added bonus is that it is free but any donations go to help support the tremendous work they continue in the name of Dona Felisa Rincon!

If you go during the day, bars and many of the reastraunts are closed. There will be a market open with many fruits and vegetables. In the evening, every bar is pumping out music, and the tables are being used at most restaurants. You will find bands playing outside or karaoke. The real party doesn't even start until around 10 pm.

Amazing fresh and ripe fruits! They were SO GOOD and SO CHEAP! They’ll cut the fruits for you! The farmers market closes at 5pm but will turn into a fun night life around 8pm!

Great spot for fresh fruits and vegetables—they even offer to cut up the fruit for you! We had been searching for roadside fruit stands throughout our trip but couldn’t find any. Glad we got to enjoy some sweet papayas and mangoes from here! Price was great and can pay with card or cash.

Although I wasn't able to experience La Placita during the day and enjoy the variety of fresh fruits typically available, I did have the opportunity to explore its vibrant nightlife. The area comes alive after dark, with numerous bars offering a range of music genres to suit diverse tastes. One of the highlights was watching people dance classic salsa in the streets—a lively and culturally rich display that added to the area's dynamic atmosphere. I loved it!

When you go to La Placita before 5pm visit El Coco de Luis for a refreshing beverage and enjoy a seat on the outdoor patio.

My boyfriend and I stopped by yesterday and bought a few things. Everyone in the store was helpful, but one girl in particular (I can’t remember her name, but she had a few piercings) went above and beyond. We forgot a painting and she found us halfway down the street just to give it to us. Highly recommend!!

Whenever I go to Old San Juan, the Arts and Crafts store is the only place I go to shop for local art. This place has a wide variety of beautiful pieces by very talented local artists. They even have unique vintage art that I was able to purchase.

Puerto Rican Art and Crafts A gem of a location for things Puerto Rican. From vejigante masks to paintings, to cultural items, food items, quality Puerto Rican flags, to coffee and much more. The staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are patient and very helpful. They took the time to answer questions and worked with each other to help get information. The prices are very reasonable. They ship as well. For those that are carrying their items with them, they are very careful to pack the item well. I went in several similar stores just down the road and there is no comparison in price, extensiveness of merchandise and friendliness of the staff.

By far one of the best souvenir shops in Old San Juan! Its commitment to supporting Puerto Rican artists and island products rather than cheap imitation makes it stand out. The prices are actually reasonable and purchases are packaged with care. Everything we bought here was a treasure to share with loved ones back home.

My favorite store in old San Juan. Amazing amount of local creativities’ ingenious works all gathered here! Decent pricing! I got 2 tiny heart shape, wooden/ ceramic magnets as souvenirs for the trip! Come find some treasures!!

this shop is such a gem!! i was so amazed to see so many beautiful items that were all handmade by local artists (none of that mass produced “made in china” stuff you’ll get at your typical souvenir shop). i talked to one of the staff members and they told me that this shop is family owned and operated, and that even locals shop here to find one-of-a-kind handcrafted items! i bought a beautiful bracelet and a gorgeous ceramic mug. this shop inspires me to get back into my artsy hobbies & create beautiful things!
