Farmers Markets
Located just a few blocks from the city center, Mercado Municipal de Valladolid offers an authentic Mexican market experience and a glimpse into local life. The bustling market is filled with vendors selling everything from affordable clothing to fresh produce, spices, handicrafts, and flowers. Despite some reports of unpleasant odors, many visitors find the market vibrant and full of life.
I was fueling up at the petrol station opposite and I decided to have a look at this market. It was Sunday afternoon so some stall had already closed or were shutting down. The produce looks really good and there is another section with shoes, hats, trinkets and so on. I bought an Obsidian bracelet and massaging stone for a fraction of the price in the centre. Some of the people here are actually making the things that they are selling. Follow Calle 37 out of the centre and it is opposite the petrol station. It is not far.

Great vibes with an assortment of vendors selling fresh produce and hand crafted goods. Restroom costs MX$5 to use and was relatively sanitary. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Valladolid is one of the most beautiful cities in the Península and if you live in Yucatán is mandatory to visit it at least once in your life. There is a lot of regional food in the market of the city and you also can buy some local vegetables. Near the market, there is also a cenote but you can't access unless you pay. During my vacations last week I also visited the festival of Valladolid is not as big as Xmatkuil festival but it doesn't feel less enjoyable, there is a lot of things to see like the regional dances, during the winter is almost mandatory to wear warm clothes.

Good place for shopping souvenirs

Nice little market. 1 of the buildings hosts the butchers and clothing. I'd avoid that build as the smell is not very pleasant. The other building hosts the veg and fruit. It is a newer building and much nicer to visit.
Nikko — Google review
Definitely worth visiting to see some authentic culture. If you’re a traveller like me, pick up some spices. Recommend: achiote, Mexican orégano, and dried peppers. I paid 10 Peso per bag.
Arthur S — Google review
This mercado is little bit off the beaten track, at the edge of town some 10 min walk from the cenote Zaci. It's housed in a beautiful arched colonial style edifice and it's very colorful inside. You'll find everything there - fruits, vegetables, meats, clothes and what I was most amazed with - homemade HOT sauces in so many different colors. I bought over 10 at less than 2$ a piece. Great place to soak local atmosphere and many local eateries around
Dejan B — Google review
Nice stop for ladies looking for souvenirs or fresh fruits and snacks. Colorful display of vegetables, flowers, and also fresh meats. Men would probably be wondering why you took them along. Nice stroll from the city center, about 1 mile. By the way, I always ask for permission before taking pics. Just do it.

Casa de los Venados is a hidden gem in Valladolid, offering a unique and intimate museum experience within a private home. The collection boasts over 3,000 pieces of Mexican folk art, presented in the original context they were designed for. Visitors can enjoy tours in English or Spanish, learning about the origins of important pieces and the history of the colonial mansion that houses them. This colorful and diverse collection provides an immersive look into Mexican art and culture.
Absolutely beautiful!! Great tour, great tour guides and an absolutely incredible collection of Mexican folklore and art. Also very unique as it’s a house rather than a museum. So the owners even live there still and the only part you can’t access is their room. Such a fun experience for all ages! Best part is, the admission cost (100 pesos) all goes directly to charity. They’ve done a lot great work. Must see!!
Gabi S — Google review
Absolutely stunning private art collection of an American couple, who made their private house into a museum. You can visit with a very interesting guided tour, no tickets or reservation needed, only 100 pesos/person donation which goes to local charity. Loved it, thank you! 😍
Fanni K — Google review
Totally worth the visit if you are in Valladolid! This is a private collection of over 3,000 pieces of Mexican folk art from different states of Mexico. Every inch of the house is filled with incredible works of art. Since this is a private house, you have to arrive for one of the guided tours, you can not enter the house freely. There are 5 guided tours daily. One tour for sure starts at 1pm, but I did not catch the start times for the other tours of the day. A donation of 100 pesos/5 US dollars is collected at the end of the tour.
Caitlyn B — Google review
Incredible and amazing collection, so glad we fit this visit into our time in the lovely town of Valodolid. Not only is the collection spectacular the connection to the local community is heartwarming, all donations go to local charities .I hope to return to Casa de los Venados many times and share this experience with friends and family when doing so.
Lisa L — Google review
About an hour tour in this quirky house full of Mexican folk art. David speaks perfect enough and gave us a good idea of what the house is like and some interesting facts about the art. $100 suggested donation at the end.
Steph C — Google review
Sergio was the most wonderful friendly and knowledgeable guide. We really enjoyed our visit around the house and appreciated that we were allowed to wander and ask as many questions about the pieces of art as we wanted. We felt very fortunate to be only a group of 4 people in total, as Sergio mentioned it can get very busy which I imagine would change the experience.
Amelia P — Google review
A must visit if you are in Valladolid and interested in Mexican craftmanship. Tours run daily at 10, 11:30, 13, 14 and 15. A contribution of 100 pesos is suggested but not compulsory, and will be directed to local charities. Including a couple of pictures to give an idea but won't spoil the surprise with the best gems :)

Amazing!!!! I have my doubts at first, but it was an incredible surprise!! Totally worth the visit, for 5 usd donation. I will come back.

El Mesón del Marqués, situated in the heart of Valladolid, is a renowned restaurant within a historic hotel. The establishment offers an elegant dining experience with a focus on regional and international cuisine using fresh, high-quality ingredients. One of their signature dishes is the pavo en escabeche oriental, featuring soused turkey marinated in Asian spices and grilled over wood or charcoal fire.
We really enjoyed our lunch here! The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing—such a great spot to take a break while exploring Valladolid. The food was fantastic—everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and well presented. I had the chicken fajitas and they were delicious. Everyone in our group loved their meals. The chips and salsa were a great start too. Service was friendly and efficient, and the location right off the square makes it super convenient. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back next time!

Amazing historic hotel and restaurant. Have been visiting for several years now and it is always good and consistent. We usually come for the day and visit cenotes around the area. Definitely plan to stay at the hotel soon.
Crystal L — Google review
Found this place on Google maps on the way to Chichen Itza as there was not very many restaurants on the way. I'm really glad we stopped here as the food was phenomenal and the environment was amazing. This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the courtyard seating and food was amazing. The service food and drinks exceeded our expectations and they have plenty of items to choose from. We opted to get something more traditional to the area and it was the correct choice. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful with a water fountain, trees and plants. It's a truly authentic and extraordinary experience. It's an excellent place to stop and you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely amazing food. Beef was perfectly cooked. Presentation was out of a magazine. Atmosphere is gorgeous and almost like its own little world. Very attentive service.
Cinder B — Google review
Wonderful experience in Valladolid. We stopped in the afternoon and reserved for the evening. The hostesses warmly remembered us and made sure we got the courtyard table we requested. The menu has so many choices. The house white wine was excellent, served with an interesting aerator, and cocktails great. We had shrimp prepared tableside by our waiter Ignacio who did a great job. Highly recommend as it’s in a beautiful historic building. Flavorful. Great service. They made sure to ask if we had any food intolerances or allergies which was appreciated. Pricy for Mexico, but coming from the U.S. it was very reasonably priced and worth it.
W B — Google review
Beautiful quaint picturesque hotel in the center of town. Accessible to everything. Restaurant is set up in the courtyard food is regional and delicious! The pool is surrounded by a beautiful garden with local plants.

A beautiful restaurant with a lovely inner courtyard that creates a charming atmosphere. The menu offers a rich selection of traditional Mexican dishes. Service was excellent and well-organized—I appreciated that the waiters wore hairnets, showing attention to hygiene. The prices are high, but the service quality is great, and the food is served quickly. Recommended!

Fantastic place with great vegetarian options. The host was super friendly and the food was unique and delicious. I personally would prefer if they went lighter in the cheese though.

Very good vegan food and excellent customer service. Recommend for vegan food. Mexican and pokebowl style.

It was a feel-good meal with a few great vegan options. All the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. The complimentary mango served before the meal was such a thoughtful touch, and the drinks are served in handcrafted cups, adding a unique and charming touch. The flavors were fresh and vibrant — I’d definitely come back again. A wonderful spot for vegans and travelers alike!

This is my favorite restaurant in Valladolid. The food is absolutely delicious! There is a beautiful garden seating area, calm music, very friendly staff, and an expansive menu that caters to diverse palates and diets. My wife and I have been coming everyday and we are never disappointed. Yerbabuena is a true culinary gem and a must for any foodie.
Christopher H — Google review
Yay veggies! Yerba Buena was a refreshing change after the mostly-meat diet available everywhere else. We had enchiladas, vegetarian lasagne with salad, and mushroom pasta. The succulent pastas seemed to be home-made. Both the linguine and lasagna were truly excellent in texture and flavour.
Hein V — Google review
Edited to add that 4.5 years later I came back and the chilaquiles are still the best! Consistency across the board with flavor, presentation and service. 🙏🏼 Wow! I’ve been in Mexico for 3 months and between all the places I’ve had chilaquiles in various different states and cities, these are the best. This restaurant has a beautifully tranquil outdoor space, the staff is all genuinely friendly and warm and the food tastes good, is presented in a beautiful manner and it’s not overpriced. Good energy matters when cooking and I can tell whoever made my food has it. Muchas Gracias Yerbabuena!
Del C — Google review
Best cappuccino so far on our trip (all others have been too weak for these two Europeans!). The food is decently priced and delicious! So much flavor, and even my spouse who can’t handle spicy food loved his pork dish (he asked for the mole sauce on the side). I had the Yucatán chicken dish and it was incredibly flavorful. Handmade warm blue-corn tortillas on the side. The mole was delicious as well, but a tad on the spicy side even for my taste. Also tried the tamarind Agua fresqua which I’ve never tried before, refreshing but a little sweet (not too sweet, I assume it’s supposed to be a little sweet!). Facilities are clean as well, great restrooms, space between tables, cute decor, pleasant music playing in the background (nothing loud or annoying like in some other places). Also, not often mentioned, but they had sharp cutlery so you can actually cut your meat. This impressed my spouse who has been annoyed by the “butter knives” we’ve received at other places. Staff was super friendly and very efficient with food and getting the bill etc. They even have a little map where you can put a pin to say where you’re from! 10/10 would go back in a heartbeat. Perfect spot for lunch or breakfast.

Calzada de los Frailes, also known as Friars Road, offers a glimpse into Valladolid's colonial past. The street is lined with vibrant 16th-century homes, sombrero shops, and small restaurants. At the end of the road lies the tranquil Parque Sisal where visitors can relax and people-watch. Adjacent to the park stands the Convento de San Bernardino de Siena, an impressive sand-colored structure that adds to the area's historical charm.
Iconic street of Valladolid especially during the Dia de muertos
Frederic O — Google review
Very pretty pastel coloured, colonial buildings along a straight street full of trendy boutique shops and up-market restaurants. A wealthy genteel atmosphere. Pleasant to stroll down to the Convent at the bottom. I did enjoy a good coffee in the small colonial cafe to the right at the corner of the street just as it opens into the Plaza.
Richard C — Google review
This like the main road in the city, it is so beautiful at night with colorful left and right buildings. These buildings has small doors but in the back they hide a lot of sceens, restaurants, shops, coffee shops and hotels. I did a fast forward video showing the whole street. It take you to the night show at St Bernardino monastery witch occure every night at 9:00 pm. You will find different types of food there. When you walk look at the details.
Karam S — Google review
Beautiful street with many boutiques and restaurants for all.
D D — Google review
Calzada de Los Frailes is a beautiful and charming cobbled street in Valladolid that runs diagonally from the centre of the city to the Sisal neighbourhood and the ex-convent. It is lined with pretty, pastel-coloured buildings on both sides which have cute boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels and sidewalk bars. There are some delicious vegan and vegetarian restaurants along the street including Le Kaat, Yerbabuena and Elela (the last two are situated on the street across from the convent). I loved wandering along this street and taking photos of the pretty buildings. It was generally quiet, although the street is open to vehicles, so it could get busy at times. It was lovely to explore here!
Brittany T — Google review
The Calzada de los Frailes is a four century old narrow road that connects the Monastery of San Bernardino de Siena, the ancient Mayan barrio of Sisal and the downtown neighborhoods of Valladolid. This is both a residential and commercial street so don't walk into just any door. It is beautiful though and walking down it you feel the blend of the Spanish and Mayan cultures. If you are in need of souvenirs, there is a little shop right at the start called "Colores de Mexico". The prices are a tiny bit high but they are fair and the obviously handcrafted items are carved from the very heart of Mexican culture, blending folk arts of colonial Spanish and indigenous designs like the hand punched tin and wood crosses adorned with little milagros and painted with bright colors that you'd expect to see all across Mexico, but especially in the Caribbean facing Yucatan.
Jacob N — Google review
Beautiful colonial walk around colorful buildings leading to the park. In the park you will find dancing, singing, food stands and beautiful flowers. Along the walk you can find shops, restaurants and the beautiful church. I recommend trying some yucatecan dishes while in the peninsula. Very safe but still be smart. Also, try some #marquesitas but they close at 10 and it was the only stand I found selling them in #Valladolid
Andie P — Google review
Great street it is a nice 15 min walk from the central place to the conventi. There are a few public parking around so it should not be a problem to park your car in exchange for a few pesos.

Is you choose to have guacamole they create it fresh for you at the table. Highly recommended

Perhaps the best restaurant in the Chichén Itzá area. The longos sausages were the best appetizer! They had a Stout! So, rare regionally. It was good and worth it. The fresh seafood on the menu is excellent. Pulpo (octopus) was excellent. Salsa and hot sauces were fresh and tasty, full of flavor. All the deserts we tried were top shelf, as was the Mezcal & White Russin drinks after dinner. The double expresso was the perfect closure. Highest recommendation without reservation! So, get there quick, before the reservations fill up.

Beautiful space but the food was not special, once you walk past the main entrance it will lead to a back garden with nice lights, a quite area with romantic red table cloths. The cocktails were good, we had mango daiquiri variation. For the food we had the beef pibil and the regional platter. It was okay, but not special. The guacamole was tasty and nice as the make it at the table

To be honest a good restaurant, but not a WOW factor. The guacamole was really good and the cocktails. We had the beef stew and 3 way porks. This restaurant is quite expensive in comparison to other restaurants, so if you don’t mind to pay extra and look for nice ambiance than this is your place!

It gave us a wonderful glimpse into the local culture. Based on our guide’s recommendation, we also tried the coconut ice cream from a street vendor here, it was incredibly refreshing and delicious! The park itself is clean, shaded, and a great place to relax and people-watch. Highly recommended as a cultural and scenic stop.

Great spot to hang out! There’s always something going on whether it’s performers, photoshoots, or walking tours. The weekend we went there was a protest happening (we weren’t sure what for) but it was cool to see folks around the park with their banners and tents for protest. Lots of seating available and tons of great food vendors. Highly recommend grabbing churros and ice cream within the park. The evening was our favourite time to go because the sunset was really pretty at the park and we loved hearing the birds sing their evening songs!

The lively heart of Valladolid! Parque Principal Francisco Cantón Rosado is a beautiful and vibrant town square surrounded by colonial architecture, local shops, and restaurants. It’s the perfect place to relax under the shade, people-watch, or enjoy some street food — especially marquesitas or churros from local vendors. The stunning San Servacio Church stands right across the square, making it a great photo spot both day and night. A must-visit to feel the local culture and charm of Valladolid!

I love squares like this, lots of places to sit and chill and people watch, or bring snacks in from the many vendors in the area.

There is a lot that happens in the town center at night. If you look like a foreigner they will yell and try to get you to buy their products. They are very kind here. Great shopping area. They have a little cafeteria across the street. The Church seemed to always have something going on here too.

Local plaza in the middle of Valladolid. Lots of food stands and offers a variety of choices of Mexican street food as well as souvenir gift stands. Mostly CASH only (USD or MXN) they accept both. Not sure if they accept credit card. We came here with our tour bus so i'm not sure about the parking situation and the plaza is location in the center of a busy road.

After Chitzen Itza tour this Tequila spot was like coming home to share your day with family and friends. You could taste the Mom or Aunts touch of something special in the meal, simple but flavored by friendly cooks. The town was colorful and people bustling through, not NY bustling but kindof NY in the laid back south with a hint of coastal humming.

Nestled in a beautifully restored colonial mansion, La Casona de Valladolid is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor authentic Yucatecan cuisine. This charming eatery features a delightful buffet that showcases traditional dishes like Cochinita Pibil and Papadzules, all set against the backdrop of a lush courtyard adorned with colonial decor. The serene atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for leisurely lunches or dinners, where guests can enjoy their meals around a central fountain in the inner courtyard.
Quite a cool place with lots of character. This restaurant kind of transports you back in time. Visiting it is a must with lots of ample time on hand. Found the staff to be very attentive, eager to help and pleasingly mannered. The bar is well stocked and you also have quite a few options in non-alcoholic drinks as well. The buffet style food setting had numerous options including vegetarian food.

Super yummy buffet huge selection! Super tasty super customer service. it’s a must if you’re in the area it’s one of my kind.

We had the buffet included as part of our tour to Chichen Itza and this place was one of the highlights of our trip! The food was so good and the drinks were really refreshing! With buffets, the food quality tends to drop off due to the high number of people going through, but this was not the case as you saw the cooks providing meats and tortillas fresh in the way you would like. I would definitely recommend it to anyone coming through!

The atmosphere is very nice, the servers are great but most have no idea about GF. The food was not bad but not great for $42 usd all you can eat, it is very much catered to Americans that have no idea what true Mexican food is.

You will eat a lot at this place. The price about $30 USD per person. The indoor and the outdoor are beautiful for sitting. The food taste is not wow but it is good. If you are hungry go there the 30$ will be fair for what you will eat. I usually give 5 stars for a tasty 😋 food places. Remember, it is my own opinion maybe you will like it more than me. The best thing I liked here it was the sausage 🌭 and the Olive 🫒. The people are very nice every where.

We stopped here for lunch on our excursion to the Chichen Itza and it was fantastic! The buffet food was a standard up from that available at the resort; was well as being more authentically Mexican. The fountain outside was spectacular too, making it a nice setting to stop for food!

Incredibly delicious lunch stop for our tour group coming from Chichen Itza. It was the best, most authentic Mexican meal I’ve ever experienced and service was impeccable; like a traditional American, I didn’t want to leave/stop eating haha. Thank you so much for all you do & can’t wait to come back! 🇲🇽❤️‍🔥

Beautiful atmosphere and great food!!👏🏻 They have a wide range of food options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. We tried their lunch buffet. Was a little skeptical about the vegetarian options before going but they were pretty tasty! 🤤 Desserts were the best part! 👅 The atmosphere is amazing and felt very refreshing! The entire restaurant was well decorated. The outdoors seating arrangement was great and was filled with trees and there was perfect amount of shade to enjoy our meal.👌 The service here was good too 👍🏻 One thing I noticed in all the mexican places is they appear to be a small hangout spots from outside but after you enter, it’s a whole different experience in a good way!! 😇🥰

Dishes are beautifully presented and made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, some of which are grown in their own organic garden. The staff, all of Maya origin, adds to the authenticity of the experience.
Exquisite and authentic Mayan cuisine in a very nice setting, a bit off the center so best to have a car. Service is top notch with some traditional tomato and pumpkin seed spread freshly ground at your table, and hand made tortillas. Highly recommended.

IX CAT IK Tradicional Cocina Maya was hands down the best restaurant I visited in Mexico. The setting is beautiful and authentic, with an open kitchen and garden seating that adds to the experience. The Cochinita Pibil was incredibly tender, the chaya empanadas were full of flavor, and the shrimp in creamy ixcatik chili sauce was unforgettable. Fresh tortillas cooked over an open flame and warm, welcoming staff made it even more special. If you're in Valladolid, this place is an absolute must.

Just a 10 min walk from our hotel, which was perfectly safe FYI. Amazing find, great staff who explain exactly what your eating, and the tradition behind it etc. Excellent flavors , food and cocktails. I had the chicken soup and the prawns which was cooked in a kind of cheese. Service was excellent. Great value! Highly recommend

We loved this restaurant! Would come back :) FYI- We were 8 and ordered a lot of food. I’ll start by saying that the dessert was one of the best I ever had - the helado de coco con dulce de fresa & mezcal. You need to order it We ordered a lot of food and all of us enjoyed it very much. Our favourites were Sopa de Lima, Papadzul & the Píibil plates. The service was amazing. Super friendly and helpful, by the end of the meal they even did a small workshop so we understood the spices they use and how their chocolate is made.

Convento de San Bernardino de Siena, located in Valladolid, is a significant colonial site dating back to the mid-16th century. It served as a Franciscan headquarters and played a crucial role in the early conversion of the local Mayan population to Christianity. The convent features original elements, including centuries-old walkways and a peaceful courtyard. Visitors can explore the small museum, which showcases discoveries related to cenotes and artifacts found within them.
Went to the evening light show. (there's also another one elsewhere in the city). Was neat, but the sound that goes with the show had an echo so it was a bit hard to understand the story. Runs in Spanish and then English shortly after. Neat little stop after a late dinner nearby.
Megan S — Google review
Ex Convento de San Bernardino de Siena is definitely worth seeing. The design is unique, and there's quite a bit to explore inside. The entrance fee of 20 MXN is minimal, making it a great value for what you get. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in Valladolid!

A beautiful and historic place to visit in Valladolid! The Convento de San Bernardino de Siena has so much charm and atmosphere. The entrance fee is very affordable (20 pesos), and inside you’ll find not only the impressive old church but also photo exhibitions that give more context to the history of the convent. The grounds are peaceful and lovely to walk around — there’s an old well, as well as avocado and banana trees that add to the unique vibe of the place. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Valladolid, whether for the history, the architecture, or just to enjoy the quiet and beauty of the convent.
Sergey P — Google review
I wishit has monks inside, also I wish that we can be missionaries like the first people. Two interesting things inside this monastery, first is the well outside in the garden area, second is the exhibition. One of the photos inside the exhibition was about the underground excavations showing divers inside a big water cave. Nice park outside to sit and watch. I took some photos for the cloud outside ( can you find the rainbow in the cloud? ). Entrance about $2 US dollars and it worth to pay it. If they make access to the water cave area and charge $25 I will pay. I want to mention also the night light show on the building, see the photos. The show starts in Spanish at 9:00 and will be followed about 9:20 in English.
Karam S — Google review
A simple but large homage to San Bernadino. At night, I believe at 9pm, the convent features beautiful light show cast upon the convent. Worthwhile visit if youre in Valladolid.

We went on a Sunday just before closing. We were about the only ones there. That diagonal road that leads from near the square to the Convent is a nice walk. Lots of good places to eat.

Well worth the visit. It’s bigger inside than you expect and the history of the place is impressive. It is very inexpensive to get in about $2, if I remember, and the lady was glad we had exact money as she had no change.

Amazing experience! It was a great tour, we thought it was going to be a big tour, but it was a personalized one. The honey tasting was great and we learned a lot! It was the highlight of our trip. We even got to buy some amazing honey for us, would definitely recommend it!

Loved this place! I loved getting to have a non-typical experience visiting this city and getting to learn about the indigenous bee species and how they were used by the indigenous peoples. The tour guide was a wealth of info and I'm so impressed. It was not busy - I was the only person on the tour on the day I went and it was so fun.

Very nice drop-in stop on the way back from Chichen Itza, or while in Valladolid. Such a nice conversation and tour and tasting. This is not just a bee-keeping tour -- it is a Mayan culture tour as well. Check timing ahead of time... he didn't want to start outside of the usual tour time, so we waited a half hour. Double check the pricing too, as it isn't posted - I think we paid more than we should have for just the tour.
Chuck B — Google review
We had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful place and the tour was fantastic. Eduardo was our tour guide and provided us with so much fun information about the different types of bees and plants in the area. We got see the bees as they came into their hives at sunset and even got to taste a bunch of honey products. The location as a whole is beautiful and they have huts and bungalows you can stay in. I recommend this cute and fun tour while on Valladolid!

Quiet place in Valladolid. We spent 2 nights in a cabin. This is a Beekeeping business so you can get "bee-tours" and buy honey products. They have a pool, bar and restaurant and also a camping site for tents. Private parking on site. Overall good price for value.

I have done the bee tour here twice. The most recent time it was quite good and informative. The first time I came out was really excellent and you could tell that the guide was passionate about bees and the conservation work they do. They offer it in English and Spanish and it includes honey tasting, seeing a variety of local bee species, wild bees and bee hives, and lots of interesting information about them.
Anton — Google review
Wow such a wonderful educational experience!! The area is stunning, our guide was so informative, he answered all our questions and shared so much history and insight about bees and the Mayan stingless Bee. It was so cool to walk down into the cave area to see the beehives hanging from the top of the cave. We got to try traditional Mayan food made by a Mayan Elder and continued our walk to see different bee species and see them up close being busy bee's in their hive boxes. Afterwards we got to taste the different honey products they have, and homemade lotions made from the honey. Highly recommend, I learned sooo much and would definitely go again!! They have a nice little store to buy the products if you'd like and other souvenirs. They have camping available they provide tents, and or rent traditional cabins, they have a nice swim area, everything is so thought out nicely. The bees are well taken care of, they are free to be in their habitat without disturbance and you learn so much!!

In April we spent a week in Valladolid, and one night we decided to try this Italian restaurant. It’s located in Valladolid downtown, and is actually two restaurants: Italian and Japanese, divided by a really nice courtyards (both belonging to the same owner). It is basically completely outdoor (like most places here), and although they always have fans running around you, the heat can be a little bit too much. However, that didn’t’ ruin the very relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant. After we tried a salad and a pasta, we decided to come back again to try out other dishes as well. In fact, we came here for dinner all of our last 3 days in the city, and tried the pizza too. We are Italians living abroad, so we understand the need of ethnic restaurants to adjust their original cuisine to the local taste. Because of that, we also appreciate a lot when we find authentic restaurants – above all in the least expected places! I’m not saying this is 100% authentic, but it’s very close to it – and the amazing fact is that they use local ingredients, and none of the kitchen staff ever traveled outside of Yucatan or Mexico. The cocktails and wines (as well as cordials) are very decent; the espresso instead is pretty bad. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. Most of the times we were served by Alondra, a really sweet yet professional person who even offered us a dessert (my favorite) as goodbye. If you come from North America or Europe, you’ll find this restaurant cheap. We are hoping to return to Valladolid in the near future, and we will surely come back to this restaurant.

We had an amazing dinner at this Italian restaurant and were truly impressed. As Europeans, we can say the food tasted very authentic. I had pasta, while my girlfriend had pizza, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors, the quality of the ingredients, and the presentation really made us feel like we were dining in Italy. The service was also excellent. Our waiter Rodrigo was very friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. We left completely satisfied and will definitely come back on our next visit. Highly recommended!

We went for breakfast and sat in the back garden. They had a patio upstairs but it was very hot so we stayed in the shade. While you enjoy your drink, indulge in tasty bar snacks like nachos and guacamole to complement your experience.
The view of the cathedral is lovely. The tacos were amazing. Service was a little slow because the balcony was full. That said it was lovely that we didn’t feel rushed to flip our table. The flan was delicious.

Food was made fancy. Taste was okay. Service was good. Sight was alright. Price is a bit high for the "category" of restaurant.

Very reasonable prices for the main square in Valladolid. Cheaper than some more basic food further out of town. Fettuccine was delicious and less than 200 pesos! Smoothies were lovely too! Tucked away a bit. You need to go into Agustin Gusto and then head upstairs and follow signs for "Mirador"

The chicken alfredo was pretty good. Very basic hotel restaurant, nothing fancy. Very nice view of the cathedral. They really need to ditch the DJ...

Absolutely amazing experience! Jesús, our server, was incredible – not only was he kind and attentive, but he also shared a fascinating and detailed historical explanation of Valladolid along with some fun and lesser-known facts about the city. His passion and knowledge really added depth to our visit and made it memorable. On top of that, the view from the place is incredibly suggestive and atmospheric, perfect for soaking in the charm of the Yucatán. Highly recommended – ask for Jesús if you want to learn something new while enjoying a great meal!

Very nice patio overlooking the square. To sit and see the birds congregate in the evening is really cool. The food was okay, not great. Service was good. You mostly are paying for the nice view.

Every vacation should begin and end with a rooftop bar and what a way to start. The view is stunning, with a cool breeze on a hot night, the vegetarian tacos are … hands down the best I’ve ever had. I also discovered a vodka Ricky and I’m never going back. Our server, Gustavo was the kindest and very attentive! Will definitely be back every day we’re in town!

Charming rooftop bar vibe! We went here for some drinks and a late dinner. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very chilled. Good value for money given the location and view of the cathedral.

Carolin Cacao Cafe & Gelato is an absolute must-visit place according to general consensus. It boasts a stunning ambiance with both an aesthetically pleasing restaurant and a delightful garden. The staff members are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and generous. This establishment is particularly family-friendly as it has entertained young children during multiple visits. Patrons have enjoyed a tranquil breakfast experience while their kids had a fantastic time on the premises.
This may well be the one breakfast to rule them all! Fresh healthy selections both traditional and contemporary. They have a range of different Mexican espresso beans and I highly recommend the espresso trio that showcases the subtle and not-so subtle differences in flavor! On top of that because I am a confirmed Coffey addict. I had their darkest chocolate Mocha with a couple shots of espresso. Para La Comida, I had the green omelette beautifully delivered with a hearty mix of Chaya onion other vegetables and Oaxaca cheese! The “energy ball“ is a delicious bit of hippyness that was a delight! My girlfriend had the vegetarian quesadillas with a side of eggs and it too was perfection. The staff is lovely and the diners were a mix of local and tourist. Always nice to see people from here eating here. I sit here sipping the last bit of my mocha and I’m about to go check out their lovely garden gardens and meet their pet pugs! An absolute must-go when in Valladolid!

We had a wonderful breakfast at Carolin Cacao Cafe Boutique. Our hosts Karina and Manu were an absolute pleasure! The food looks beautiful and tastes even better. There's a beautiful garden attached as well. Definitely recommend

This place did not disappoint. Everything was phenomenal. My oatmeal chia fruit bowl, the Valladolid omelette and the chai frappe were my favorites. Awesome service, quaint patio, live music. Expectations were exceeded. And after our meal, they gave us a cute little tourist guide and map.

Really enjoyed it. Sweet beverage and tasty food. Strong coffee. Nice ambient and friendly service. Bonus: You can pet any of the street dogs that are aloud to shelter from the Valladolid sun.

One of the nicest looking cafes and the owner is SO KIND, bless her soul! She made our experience much better. I would 100% recommend the place if you’re visiting the city. Seats are limited so get there early! Honestly nothing negative to say except for the matcha, it tasted a bit like powdered milk.

Very nice breakfast/brunch spot. Cozy terrace near their botanical garden. Lot’s of healthy options. Food was excellent quality and portions were also more than enough, we will be coming back here!

Let’s talk about this beautiful little cafe! First off it’s beautiful inside and out and there’s even a garden for you to visit after you eat. The owner is at the restaurant working with the employees greeting everyone and offering you suggestions off the menu she created. The attention from everyone here was amazing. Now the drinks WOW! coffees were delicious and strong we also had some natural juices that tasted fresh. The food was the show stopper though flavorful and presented beautifully. After you eat they even give you a list of things to do in their city that they recommend. 10/10 highly recommended you stop by here!

A great place to stop in Valladolid . Right by the historic center , you get a bit of peace in a patio surrounded by a beautiful garden. I got the quesadillas Valladolid and it was quite tasty. My girlfriend devours her ciabatta de queso with a maracuya juice freshly made. We got lucky because at the time it’s wasn’t busy. Enjoy !!

The staff provides impeccable service and goes out of their way to cater to different dietary preferences, offering vegetarian/vegan options as well. Visitors are impressed by the delicious food made with local ingredients and the friendly welcome from the cook, Gabriel.
This place was incredible, our lunch was so good our first day in town that we came back for breakfast the next day. Definitely our favorite place we tried in Valladolid, would be at the top of my list recommending to others visiting. Everything we tried was delicious, my partner doesn't eat meat and was thrilled with how much of the menu was vegetarian/vegan. Service is attentive and quick, prices seemed very fair.

What an amazing restaurant! I was very impressed upon entering the establishment. Our server Kevin was fantastic , very attentive, with a great attitude. I just want to come here for lattes, juices, and smoothies every day. Absolutely phenomenal. The wraps are amazing, the guacamole and mushroom soup amazing...highly recommend. Each dish/drink is artistically displayed. Service was excellent too. Charming little garden area outside back with fans, inside was toasty warm during the day but probably fine in the evening. They did have bug spray on the tables but during the day, we did not need any.

This was the best meal we had in Valladolid, possibly in all of Mexico. The food quality was incredible, and the experience was made better by our very kind and charming server, Cristian. He very generously shared his cultural insights with us. He explained the Mayan ancestral significance and cooking practices of our dishes, and taught us a Mayan phrase. It was a wonderful experience.

After wandering around Valladolid for a while in search of a spot close to the center with good vegetarian and vegan options (and even kombucha!), we finally stumbled upon Pak’al Restaurante and Cafe and it was worth every minute of the hunt. We chose to sit outside, and the waiter immediately brought us mosquito spray. A little later, noticing we were getting warm, he kindly brought out a fan. Such thoughtful gestures made us feel genuinely cared for. The food was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds beautifully presented, flavorful, and filling. We tried vegan hibiscus tacos, vegetarian lasagna, Pak’al pasta, and veggie panuchos. Every bite was delicious. If you’re in Valladolid, don’t miss this place it’s a gem!

Very nice little restaurant with a little garden to sit outside. The food was amazing, I can absolutely recommend the Maya stuffed chicken breast. There are a lot of vegan options also. They even provided spray against the mosquitos :)

We had dinner there and were very satisfied with the food which was full of flavours and very authentic. One thing that really stood out was the traditional dessert called “Kol Naal”. The dessert was full of flavours but very well balanced and not over sweet at all. We went back for breakfast and it was satisfying except that the toast could have been crispier.

Le Kaat is a charming vegetarian and vegan restaurant located in Valladolid, Mexico. This cozy spot offers an extensive menu that caters to those with dietary restrictions or preferences, featuring everything from coffee to burgers and avocado pies. One of the highlights is the 'taco trilogy,' which puts a vegan spin on beloved Mexican classics like Cochinita Pibil, Pastor, and Barbacoa tacos.
This might be the best vegetarian restaurant in Valladolid! For being attached to a hotel, it is very reasonably priced. I came here 6 times during my stay in Valladolid and every time I left satisfied but also wanting to come back and try more. Everything was delicious but I think my favorite has to be the tacos, I could not believe it wasn’t real meat! They have a very sweet guitarist who seems to know unlimited songs coming in the evenings toward the end of the week, who is not pushy about tips like they are in some places. My only regret is not coming back more to try everything on the menu!
Mairead R — Google review
Cool restaurant with extensive vegan menu! We loved all the meals we ordered: rainbow bowl, falafel bowl, avocado/ walnut smoothie, tacos (super delicious). The service was great: polite and friendly. Highly recommend.

Atmosphere and service were fantastic! A live musician accompanied our night. Sadly, the food didn’t really match our taste. We had high expectations because everything on the menu sounded fantastic but ultimately, we didn’t enjoy our dishes as much as we’d hoped (smoked mushrooms + cauliflower). The vegan tacos and avocado cake were great though!
Lena B — Google review
Beautiful, tasty, healthy food. We were here Christmas Eve and just had to go back when we were in town again in September. We were happily surprised to see the same talented guitarist playing as on our first visit. Food is tasty and elegantly presented. Drinks were amazing. Our server did a great job. Lovely garden courtyard setting. Will go back gladly next time we’re in town!

We stopped here for a quick lunch before departing Valladolid, and it was a wonderful choice. Every dish was full of flavor, each paired with a unique and delicious sauce. The food was light yet satisfying, leaving us perfectly content. To top it all off, the lovely garden setting made the experience even more enjoyable. A great spot for a delightful meal!

We stumbled across this little gem of a place on our first night in Valladolid and what a find it was. Food was amazing (guacamole to start and the curry). Service was brilliant and the workers were so friendly and smiley! When we were here, there was the most amazing guitar player. We sat sipping wine listening to him for over an hour and it was one of our favourite nights on our México travels! We bumped into the owner before we left, and he was incredibly kind and warm. Gave us recommendations for Valladolid. We loved it here ❤️
Chloe K — Google review
Was such a nice place that we came here for both dinner and breakfast! Many vegan options for both dinner and breakfast, all well thought through. Very nice atmosphere and there were always people there when we passed by (which I see as a good grade). Super friendly and engaging staff. We were also lucky to go there for dinner when they had a musician performing both Mexican and international hits with his guitar, which was a romantic bonus. Lovely little outdoor seating area, but as the restaurant is open towards the road with no clear door to close it was no problem to sit “inside” either. Very good food too, also appreciated by my non-vegan or vegetarian husband (even though it could - as most places we went to in Mexico - need some more seasoning to really bring out the flavours of their fantastic produces). Also appreciated that they had vegan desserts, as that is not that easy to get in many other restaurants. Would definitely return!

La Selva is a cozy restaurant situated in a tranquil and secure residential area just north of Valladolid's main plaza. Operating exclusively in the evenings, they specialize in serving antojitos, which are essentially Mexican street food snacks. These include an array of dishes such as tacos, panuchos, sopes, quesadillas, and salbutes. The venue attracts both locals and tourists alike and offers generous portions at reasonable prices.
This place was recommended to us by our Airbnb host, for us to try a more typical Yucatán cuisine. It was delicious and we really enjoyed our meals. It is hot but they have fans to help off set that. Food was very affordable and the Paloma was delish!
Colencia J — Google review
We went to eat there in September 2024, around closing time, so there weren’t many guests. The food came quite quick, it was good tasting, traditional, and the portions were big enough. The waiters were ok, nothing bad to say about them. There was also live music. What we didn’t like is that the space wasn’t that much cared for, it looked quite dirty and with old appliances.
Maria — Google review
Authentic mexican- yucatan cuisine! There was an English menu too! Sopa de Lima was very good! Panuchos and tostadas were our favourite! Pink colada was amazing!
Daffy D — Google review
We had several locals recommend it. Cash only. The prices are the cheapest you will find the panuchos and chalupas were really good. The guacamole was good but I don’t think it is haas avocado it’s a local avocado which is not as creamy. Dinner for two with beers was about 325 with the 100 peso guacamole. Bring mosquito repellent.

We came across this restaurant after driving around to get to know the town. The food was AMAZING! The service was GREAT! If you’re looking for authentic Yucatan food, I would highly recommend this sweet spot.

This was a great culinary discovery. Such delicate little bites made of the same simple ingredients. We lived the albutes, panuchos and other things I can't even remember their names. But the Chaya de Piña was absolutely delicious and the perfect drink to accompany our meal. We ordered and reordered. I pillow out the phone and showed the. Pics from previous reviews and said "I want that". We all said, "one.. ahem... Two more por favor." At various times during our meal. It's been 4 hours since we got back from La Selva and I just can't stop thinking a bit going back.

You should visit if you have a chance. The food was wonderful. The masa they used is unique. The lomitos was a wonderful filling in the empanada. The sopa was delightful and wonderful even on a hot, humid night. The chalupa was a mix of textures, soft potatoes inside with a crispy masa crust. Definitely have the agua fresca de Chaya, it’s refreshing and sweet from added pineapple. And bring cash.

Líbranos del Mal is a trendy spot in Valladolid, exuding a hipster dive bar vibe with its low lighting and vibrant Day of the Dead murals. Nice option for reasonable and tasty cocktails. On the top you will find a nice rooftop Terrasse, but you can also sit inside. We only ordered drinks, we did not try any food. Service was nice and our cocktails were served very quickly. We had a margarita & mojito classico. Both very good :)

Great spot. Large glasses of beer with a great selection. Staff was absolutely amazing, so attentive and friendly. We only had a few little appetizers so I can not speak about the main menu items but the appetizers were very good. Also, second floor has a rooftop and a nice air-conditioned room with a view.

We came here because of the positive reviews. Couldn’t have been more disappointed. They served us one hour after we ordered. The food was off. When I mentioned it, they came back with the same plate (leftovers) and added cheese microwaved on top. Then charged me for the cheese. Tried to explain. They didn’t care. We left upset.

Im pretty sure the burger poisened me. It was rock hard and came much later then my friends food. The server completely disrespected us. He did not even know the menu at all. Lucas S — Google review
Location doesn't get any better than this. The food looked good but didn't try any personally. Drink prices were average and the service was friendly. The live music was great, however I imagine if you were a guest in the hotel, you would not be a fan of a live rock band playing late into the night...
Brian D — Google review
Great drinking bar with many areas to chill. The DJ was awesome! Unfortunately I'm removing 1 star because they only had 1 beer on tap, no mezcal+beer offer like the other review said, and the Día del los Muertos altar was unsafe - it caught on fire and I had to run and put it out, nobody even noticed and the whole place could have burnt down.

Small, free, and in an old church. The church yard is also quite lovely and was completely empty when I visited. Excellent job addressing Mayan and colonial history, and where that leaves us now.

This is a must-see. It will take you longer to sign in to their guest book than to look around. Go with an open mind and a grin on your face. A glass cabinet with an old sewing machine and two gourds, but no explanation. A diorama of the town looked as though it had been made by 3rd grade students. Some hastily hung guns. A pleasant garden. And you're done. I couldn't tell you what the overarching theme is this place was. However, I had a good giggle, so it cheered my day.

A cosy and warm family run restaurant. This establishment was recommended to me by a number of locals and it was for good reason because the food is delicious - simple, generously portion sized homestyle meals. Service is incredibly prompt and the outdoor seating area is clean and well decorated. I arrived when it opened and it quickly filled up! I had the Caldo Especial (95 pesos) and it was perfect when feeling like you want something simple and not greasy.

Very good food, comparably cheap to the other good restaurants in the city, good service and friendly staff! I recommend the sopa de lima and if you’re very hungry, just get one of everything of those hand bites. We came to this place to have a dinner. The place opens at certain our, i think 6pm, in the evening and We came right to that time. We were not the only ones waiting. Once the place opened, We took a table inside. We ordered a selection of different tacos (totally 8) and a large fruity drink. The food arrived in 10-15 minutes. Everything was fresh and tasty, very authentic and local. The prices are very friendly, we paid around 170 pesos for everything. We could only pay in cash. The waiters couldn’t speak English, but we could understand each other with our basic Spanish. The interior is very cozy: lights, plants, comfortable furniture. The tables for example are made of old Singer sewing machines.

This place is so good we ate here twice in 12 hours. When we thought the menu couldn't get any better, we returned for the breakfast and it did not disappoint. Tried our first horchata which we loved, every panuchos taco and tostada that came was superb. The motuleños and rancheros for breakfast was also delicious and filling. This is the absolute best value for money restaurant I think we've ever been to - not only that but it is a must visit for all.

This hidden little gem was the best service we've had since arriving in Mexico! The waitress was fluent in English, charming, very helpful, great with the kids and brought us games to play while waiting for the food. The atmosphere in the back garden was amazing! By far the most flavorful and generous serving of guacamole I had while in Mexico. The server was fluent in English and very efficient. The vegan tlacoyo was so delicious and full of flavor. I also ordered the vegan torito which was pretty tasty as well. The server brought out a shot of tequila with hibiscus and a game to pass the time while the food was prepared which worked perfectly. Also, they provided bug spray which was amazing.

We had a blast! Our food and drinks were all delicious! We enjoyed trying the different mezcals and getting some good information about quality and the different types afterwards - made it even more fun to make a surprise reveal at the end. The kids got a kick out of writing on the bathroom walls. :) They also loved that they were included in the drinking game (tabletop game to swing the ring onto the hook) with lemonade and their own setup. The owner’s English is excellent and she’s really funny. It has a great ambiance and service is excellent!

We‘ve been here some weeks ago for drinks and snacks in the evening. While this is not a classical tourist spot, staff was very friendly and tried to explain the menu in english to us. Cocktails and snacks were great and good value for money.
S. H — Google review
The bar is cool and food average. We had a VERY bad experience waiting for more than an hour for 1 burger and chicken breast. Even if we asked no one came to apologize and kept us waiting. A little precision there were only 3 table to be served so it wasn't busy. I wouldn't recommend this s******* far from the center. Don't waste you time because they waste yours. They are way better places in the center. Special mention to the bartender that came and accused her colleague it's all your responsibility. Last mention maybe having a beer menu would be a smart idea for a beer bar 😉
Antoine C — Google review
Great live music, good decent food; wings, pizza, etc. Yucatan artesanal beer available in glass bottle. About $4 each.
Sal A — Google review
We waited for our food for an hour and when we asked about it, we didn't receive an excuse - instead the server who served us accused her colleague! Unacceptable, especially given that there were 5-6 bartenders/servers and three tables to be served... Just saying, I wouldn't be leaving this review if I got a proper excuse or a symbolic beer on the house. There are much better places in the centre in Valladolid, don't waste your time.
Yaren F — Google review
Cool pub with live music. Wings were really good. They also had a 2 for 1 special on liquor until 9pm. Great vibe overall.

Best burger I have EVER tasted, so much so I'm writing this immediately Great music and vibe, cool decor, mid range prices. Thanks for having us

Vegetarian restaurant
Cafeteria
ELELA ORGANIC VEGAN CAFE Y RESTAURANT in Valladolid, Mexico is a cozy and mindful eatery that grows much of its own produce. The restaurant offers a full menu with delicious and unique vegan dishes bursting with colorful vegetables, spices, and textures. Despite being 100% vegetarian, it has won over non-vegans with its flavorful offerings.
The first thing to notice is the incredible art on the walls and then the cozy furniture. After we got our food we thought it wasn’t going to be enough (coming from an American of course) but the bread was so hearty and whole that we almost couldn’t finish it. I love how they make everything from scratch and most of it comes directly from their farm. The bread made from Ramon seeds was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. The tahini latte was very different from anything I have tried, a tiny bit of saltiness that I wasn’t expecting, but with some of their honey it was absolutely divine. My friend had the pancakes and said they were so good he couldn’t believe they were healthy. I am sad I didn’t go until my last day in Valladolid because I already want to taste the amazing bread again
Mairead R — Google review
We had our last meal of our trip to the Yucatan here. We aren't vegan but we don't eat a lot of meat and we wanted something that wasn't too heavy. This place was the perfect choice! The vegan hamburger and salad were tasty and all the ingredients were fresh. I'm really glad we ignored the bad reviews! la comida es muy deliciosa!
Dan E — Google review
I’m from Melbourne, Australia and we have a pretty strong cafe culture - this place was so unbelievably good I almost can’t explain. We had the tacos and the tortilla. Both were exceptional. So fresh. So full of delicious vegetables. The Halva latte was amazing. I’ve never come across sesame milk before and it was like an absolute revelation. My friend had a mango and banana smoothie which was also amazing. Service top notch. Gorgeous decor. One of the best cafes I’ve ever been to. Even if you’re not vegan (which we aren’t) just go there.
Michelle B — Google review
A cute and tiny vegan cafe with organic taste and relaxing atmosphere. Located in the Sisal neighborhood and displaying the beautiful Valladolid letters. We tried their halva milk which had a slightly nutty taste but delicious. We ate a light breakfast consisting of pancakes and seasonal fruit which was perfect to fuel our day.
Victoria H — Google review
Craving a break from meat? This place hits the spot with its mouthwatering vegan dishes. We savored every last crumb – the mushroom tacos were bursting with flavor, and the salad was as fresh as it gets. Nom nom nom! Bonus: plenty of grab-and-go options and snacks to keep you fueled all day.
Alex — Google review
This is the BEST Vegan restaurant in Valledalid! They have their own ORGANIC farm that supplies most of the food, including the sesame for the tahini sauces and milks, that are divine! Even if you are not vegan, you will LOVE the burger! So delicious and authentic. And the Tacos are fabulous too.
Meyrav D — Google review
Food is excellent. Service is super friendly. Views of the square are beautiful. However…BEWARE of the girl Agni selling her Mayan Gods Cacao products. She will rudely shame you if you do not buy from her and even approached me outside the restaurant and put her hands on me acting as a victim because I did not want to hear her sales pitch. We had just finished a beautiful 3 day trip and this was a very uncomfortable situation that I hope others will not experience when visiting Elela, such a lovely Vegan Cafe. The tacos and truffle were our favorite.
David G — Google review
Farm to table experience at its finest. Cozy cafe with amazing vegan and gluten-free food and drinks, beautiful art and music. Very reasonably priced, super friendly service with attention to detail, fluent English spoken. Great location, too!

Cocktail bar
Restaurant
Condesa Cocina Bar is a popular spot in Valladolid, bustling with young locals enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The bottom floor bar offers music and cocktails, while the open-air rooftop terrace provides stunning views of the lit-up cathedral. The menu features delicious quesadillas, tacos, sundaes, and an impressive selection of cocktails including house martinis and margaritas that change weekly. Additionally, there's a variety of small-production mezcals and tequilas to choose from.
An amazing little bar. You will enjoy your drinks with a nice atmosphere and a great service. The manager Jimena was so helpful with all the customers. Definitely i will come back.
Oscar G — Google review
Tourist trap priced for suckers. I don't mind paying a lot for good food or a great ambiance. Condesa provided neither. The rooftop was ok- but less atmospheric than I expected. Went for dessert and drinks. The mojito was way too sweet- but that's understandable. The cake was what made me realise they don't care about what they are serving- they just want your money. Chocolate cake was a basic one that was probably purchased in a supermarket- with super sweet buttercteam frosting. The cornbread très leches was fine. They didn't bring/add the 3 leches sauce mentioned on the menu. It was essentially a dry sweet cornbread cake. The slices were large but even if the motto was 'quantity over quality', thsi was just not good value. I mentioned that the chocolate cake was awful. Still got charged for everything and they automatically added a tip without asking- over 600. Server was nice and efficient. I would have tipped regardless but dislike the automatic tourist rate. It was so bad that even my husband who will usually eat anything declined to finish the chocolate cake . Worst food of our trip. And we spent some time in a cheap all inclusive hotel. Even the all inclusive food was better than this. 2 stars because at least the waiter was ok and my husband's beer was cold.
Liz L — Google review
Great location, with beautiful view of the church! And the atmosphere is good. But the quality and loudness of te speakers is nowhere near acceptable and four people got sick by eating their burrito filled with what seemed to be either cat food or dog food.
Job S — Google review
Very professional and good service with amazing food. Definitely sit in the terrace with nice breezes.
Christine A — Google review
Lovely place. Super pet-friendly. People are really nice. The food is outstanding, and drinks have a fair price for such a nice view. I’d say it’s the nicest bar in town. Really good music, not too loud and not too low. Basically, I went there to have breakfast and dinner several times.
Juan L — Google review
Very nice place to have drinks at night. Huge effort on halloween decoration ! There was a DJ for the whole evening. We had nachos and the plate is huge, it's really to share with at least 4 people !
Lucie J — Google review
Expensive tourist trap. Guacamole and tortillas were good. Salad and dressing were inedible. chips were greasy and stale , bread roll was hard no butter, the rest was mediocre. Service was unfriendly. A tip was added to my credit card without my knowledge and he wasn’t going to give me the receipt until I asked for it. We felt had.
Christy M — Google review
Nice especially on the open 2nd and even 3rd floor bar terraces with direct view of the lighed cathedral towers. Had only deliscious mango margarita very inexpensive! Tip nicely of course. They have a la carte menu.

Restaurante Zaci offers a stunning view of the Zaci cenote, making it worth a visit to experience the beauty of the surroundings and savor some typical dishes. While the food is good, there are mixed reviews about the service and cleanliness of the facilities. Some recommend trying dishes like cochinita, longanizia, and pilbil with guacamole and tortilla chips. Despite its location at the cenote, prices are reasonable.

I’m a financial planner - CFP®️practitioner - with a focus on retirement wealth strategies, primarily serving businesswomen and LGBTQ individuals. #VirtualPlanningCraftedWithCare®️) Having spent a week in Mexico, mostly at the resort but also eatign out several times, this was our favorite spot! Not only is the food here fresh and delicious, we had a beautiful view of the Cento Zaci right beside us. They provide a balcony too where you can see it from above. The service here was very good, we spoke Spanish but I believe some of the servers here also spoke English. I had no problem navigating my gluten allergy. Luckily, Mexican cuisine does a lot with corn vs. wheat flour. It was also very well priced for the quality of food we got. My husband particularly liked seeing the tortillas getting made fresh by hand just outside the kitchen. We had no problem paying with a credit card. This is a great place for people of all ages. You have to tackle some steps to get in, but otherwise, there is plenty of space. If you ever have the chance to see this town (it's beautiful), stop here too.
Karen C — Google review
This is a really unique restaurant...& I enjoyed my experience. I was told to come here & eat, then go swimming in the complimentary cenote (with a $200mx purchase). After having lunch, I was told it's no longer included. $100 additional with your meal, $150 for the cenote alone. So I paid extra to go. I have to say, the steps down to get there are wicked & algea covered steps to get in the water are very slippery. Be careful! That being said, it is beautiful.
Sheila S — Google review
Super nice atmosphere, great view to the cenote, and if you consume something, you can get a discounted ticket. Really nice service from all the staff!
Laura S — Google review
Lovely huge restaurant with very good food. Great cenote right next to it so you can have excellent food and cool and a refreshing dip.
Raoul G — Google review
The food was good, though in Mérida—where the culinary scene is usually outstanding—it didn’t stand out as much. What truly made the experience unforgettable, however, was the service. The warmth and friendliness of the team was great, turning a simple meal into something really special.
Liz C — Google review
A nice open air place next to a beautiful Cenote (swimming cavern formed by the Yucatan Meteor). The wait staff was above par, though they were afraid of gringos eating the habanero salsa. It does have a bite to it. The squeeze and I had motulenos, tostada with eggs and melted cheese. It's nice to have a friend that can speak the language and knows the staff as well.
Gare B — Google review
Restaurant is fine and since it is next to the Cenote, you can have access to it if your restaurant check will be over $100 pesos (otherwise you will have to pay a small fee). The meals are of a decent size and the prices are really good compared to other close touristic restaurants in the area. I wish lighting was a bit better as the restaurant is a bit dark even at mid afternoon. They take credit cards, except for American Express.
Iscoro — Google review
Zaci is a stone’s throw from downtown. We came here after touring Chichen-Itza and couldn’t be more pleased. The menu isn’t in English, but don’t be deterred. This is the place to go if you want some really un-obnoxious local food. The beer was cheap, the food was delicious, and the cenote was gorgeous. They’ll actually seat you with a view of the cenote if you ask! We got guacamole, Chicken Pibil, and Poc Chuc (Mayan Pork, marinated in spices and seared.) After you dine here, your waiter will give you a free ticket for Cenote Zaci, which is right next door. There’s plenty of parking if you’re driving a rental car, as well.

Family owned and run Las Tórtolas is where you will feel like you’re visiting old friends. They not only prepare good food, they really put the love into it. Have a sandwich or quesadillas. Maybe a burrito. Mix it up. There’s plenty to choose from. A nice cup of coffee. Or homemade natural fruit water. The people are nice. So you be nice too. Pay them a visit. They will be happy to serve and you’ll be happy you went.

Best Tortas i had in Mexico! Highly recommend going there for a bite! The Torta Cubana is definitely a statement! For the vegetarians: the Torta con Huevos is super good! Friendly Staff and fast service! Also fair prices! All in all: 5/5
Sven S — Google review
Very nice breakfast place with a very kind owner and family! I can highly recommend the vegetarian and egg sandwich (everything is freshly made). Also the homemade horchata and hibiscus [jamaica] juice were one of the best ones we have tried in Yucatan!
Julia B — Google review
We highly recommend this place. We only found it at our last day in Valladolid, which was sad because we would have come here every day if possible. The owner is such a nice and friendly person who made us feel very welcomed. The toasts are great, filled with loads of fresh and good ingredients. Also you should try the Agua de Tamardindo which was delicious! Prices are very fair and portions are big! (Toasts in the picture are vegetarian and pollo)

Cenote Zaci is a must-visit natural wonder located in the town of Valladolid, just a short 10-minute walk from Iglesia San Servacio. It offers the perfect escape from the hot temperatures, making it an ideal spot to cool down and relax. The cenote features a stunning setting with lush plants cascading down its sides and clear water teeming with fish.
Very beautiful! We went on a Friday around 11AM and it wasn’t crowded or busy at all. The entrance fee was $150 per person and we were given life jackets before entering. Great spot to go for a dip central in town! I can see why it’s highly recommended in Valladolid!
Anna B — Google review
I’ve been visiting Valladolid since 2010, and Cenote Zaci is always a stop every time I stay here. It’s central, convenient, and I really like diving over the edges. Very refreshing on hot days. Life jackets weren’t required back in the day, but it’s probably good they upped the safety as it became more popular. I hope my visits continue for years to come.
Andre U — Google review
They close at 5 with last entry at 4pm. The entry fee is posted at a different rate then shown here. It’s right in town which is convenient but not like a typical cenote you would find other places.
Tiarra S — Google review
Very fun! Not too crowded. No lockers and you have to pay 5 pesos for toilet paper. Changing area is not private so plan ahead. Highly recommend. They also have several jumping areas. If you are bigger sized you might not fit the life jackets.
Laurel P — Google review
Go early. Beautiful. Only one negative incident...We were asked to pay 600 pesos to get in even though the sign nearby said 150 a person and there was just the two of us. I handed her 400 pesos and she gave no change. But we're Americans in Mexico so...
John J — Google review
The cenote is amazing. The water is crystal clear and refreshingly cool. Lots of platforms to jump from. Be aware that there are no lockers for your belongings, and no staff keeping watch on the water.
Rebecca L — Google review
