Ramen restaurant
Restaurant
Hayashi Ramen is a popular spot among locals in Tokyo, known for its fried pork and noodles in clear broth topped with boiled eggs. While it may not have the prestige of being one of Tokyo's three Michelin-starred ramen restaurants, it attracts a steady stream of customers, mostly local Tokyoites. The shop is located near Shibuya Station and often has a queue, although it moves quickly compared to other popular ramen spots in the area.
Small ramen shop near the shibuya station. Requires a small hill climb. They have odd opening days at least per American standards so try to check online in advance if it's open. I came by 3 different days and it was closed. there's 3 items so no complications all very affordable price. Best ramen I had during this year's japan visit thus far.
David L — Google review
Probably the finest ramen around Shibuya. Rightfully thick broth, coated every single strand of noodle. Charsiew is chewy and delicious. Only downside here is the lack of space, can only accommodate 10 diners at a time.
Kevin L — Google review
One of my fav ramen experiences for this trip. The noodles are thin and perfect. They have only 3 choices but the soup base is the same. It’s a fish, shellfish, shrimp, pork… lots of things soup base. So rich and flavorful. Portion wise, perfect to remove hunger without getting stuffed. Definitely recommend.
Cindy C — Google review
This isn't a sit-down and chill spot. You get your food. Eat it and leave. Best ramen I've ever had. 😋 locals on type vibe. 3 options and so affordable. This place is exceptional and is a gem to find and dine. Ignore the ignorant reviews of entitled individuals. Seating is limited. Hence, you eat and leave. It is set up in such a way so you buy your ticket. Present to the chef and wait. They will serve until they run out of noodles or broth. First come, first serve. No exceptions. Noodles are perfect. Toppings just right. Broth is rich and silky. Sticky lips after every slurp. No frills. Amazing bowl of ramen. I was introduced to this spot by my brother Sean. The quick experience was spectacular and will forever be remembered.

Was recommended by a friend years ago and this time finally got the chance to try. They opened at 11:30am and there’s already a queue at 12pm, they will close upon the soup runs out. We waited like less than 15 mins. The shop is small, have a self-service machine at the door. They actually have 3 options only and we ordered charsiu ramen with seasoned egg - 焼豚らーめん(味玉付き)which is 1,400yen, the soup was really great and I don’t usually drink ramen soup, now i can tell why there’s so many people lining up, especially most of them are local people!
Liesel W — Google review
Was recommended this ramen shop by a friend So it’s quite popular and we queued about 15 min to get in, shop has around 10 seats so you do have to wait during peak hours The ramen machine only takes cash and 10,000 is not accepted The ramen however was extremely good and the soup was very flavourful Cha siew meat was also tender. Definitely recommended
Kevin K — Google review
I loved it! This is a place to eat your lunch if you're looking for a ramen shop where the locals dine. We were the only two people there who were not Japanese. The ramen bowl was delicious! The broth is quite flavorful and has a subtle fish flavour. The noodles were just about al dente.
Je F — Google review
Extremely delicious ramen with tonkatsu+seafood based broth. They only do this one style so they've really perfected it. The broth was amazing and at the same time not overly rich that I can't finish it, the noodles were also cooked to perfection, but the pork was honestly below average. We waited about 35 minutes on a Saturday at 2:30pm so I can't imagine the wait at regular meal times. They ran out of their 1400 yen bowl with extra pork by this time. I'm also shocked at all the one star reviews complaining about rudeness, the owners were extremely nice and polite.

Ichiran Shibuya is a popular informal ramen restaurant known for its specialty in tonkotsu ramen, featuring a creamy pork bone-based broth and thin noodles. The Hakata-style ramen chain offers a unique dining experience where customers can customize their orders, from noodle firmness to the richness of the soup. Despite occasional long lines, some branches like Shibuya Spain-zaka may have shorter wait times.
Look, I understand it's "super touristy" and the "McDonalds of Ramen" but I don't care! This place absolutely slaps and is a great experience everyone should try once, especially after a long night in Shibuya or Shinjuku. People always ask why it's so busy, there's so many better places. Sure even in the area I had better Ramen however the experience this place offers is unmatched.
Anthony C — Google review
A famous ramen spot that’s definitely worth a try—the tonkotsu soup is rich, thick, and full of flavor. The solo booth style dining makes it a unique experience, too. But be warned: the queue is very long, so it’s best to eat a little snack beforehand while you wait. Once you’re inside, though, it’s absolutely satisfying and lives up to the hype!
Donlacha P — Google review
Excellent ramen, just be prepared to wait on busy days but no line just put your details down and keep track of your booking online so you can shop and do other things while waiting. We waited for around 2 hours but it was fine because there's plenty to do around the restaurant to keep you occupied. Absolutely my favourite Ramen place in Japan, they have many shops and expanding rapidly so you'll be able to enjoy Ichiran Ramen anywhere in Japan.
Robert B — Google review
Have a QR Code reader ready another you can know your place before being seated to a 22 seat restaurant. We had to wait for over 2 hours during the mid evening at a 24 hour spot. You order via a machine and pay from the machine. You select your noodles and broth from a server before being seated. Once seated there is a water dispenser and the napkins are locked above and behind your seat. It's pretty much isolated from the rest of the others. You just sit and eat and go.
Siu L — Google review
This place is awesome and does great ramen. There can be a line but don't worry it moves quickly, as most get in and out pretty quickly. You use the machines to select your dish and then you can pick your flavours and richness (and if you want extra noodles etc) Im pretty sure all the ramen is Tonkotsu ramen (pork) or you can order it without the meat but the broth is pork based also. You sit in a little booth with your partner (or solo!) and you have your own water tap (handy if you get spicy ramen). I got a really rich and garlic flavoured ramen with a little spice and it was amazing! The other thing is that is super cheap! 100% recommend!

Needed to eat one last decent ramen after eating at the Halal Wagyu place last night 🫩 Arrived at 12:43 PM only to be greeted by a 60 minute wait time. Contemplated settling for less but the reviews convinced us to stick it out. Shout out to the server in the photo for controlling the line. She’s super kind and was vigilant with two groups that tried to wait on the side and cut the line. Ichiran is very efficient with the queue, ordering and eating system. Our original 60 minutes estimated wait time was only 27 minutes. The ramen is amazing and honestly the best in all of Shibuya. Highly recommend this to anyone in the area looking for delicious ramen.
Christopher M — Google review
A reason it is so popular! A bit of a wait but ultimately deliciously rich broth, good bite to the noodles (you can customize how hard or soft), and nice jammy egg, however which it was hot instead of cold. Spice is quite nice. Found it interesting you have the option to show the waiter cards rather than speaking.
Skye N — Google review
I'm from Toronto and their are a lot of places with Ramen but this place blew me away. The hospitality and taste were extraordinary. I really appreciate the gentleman who I met. The broth was so delicious and I was very happy I stumbled upon this place. Originally I just came to see the Shibuya crossing which was disappointing, but stumbling onto this place blew me away. Best Ramen of my life.

Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu is a renowned restaurant in Tokyo, famously known for its appearance in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. The restaurant offers traditional Japanese dishes at reasonable prices, with a mix of affordable and higher-priced options. While some may feel that the atmosphere overshadows the food quality, it remains a popular choice for film enthusiasts and those seeking nourishment after shopping in Tokyo.
5-Star Review for Gonpachi Nishiazabu – A Must-Visit Tokyo Icon Dining at Gonpachi Nishiazabu was an unforgettable experience that more than lives up to its legendary reputation. Known globally as the inspiration for the famous fight scene in Kill Bill, this restaurant is so much more than a movie backdrop — it’s a place where fantastic food, incredible atmosphere, and top-notch service come together perfectly. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the warm, lively vibe. The architecture and decor transport you to another era, with its wooden beams, lanterns, and open kitchen creating an authentic, energetic setting. We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one was a hit. The grilled eel was tender and flavorful, the mackerel had just the right balance of smoky and savory, and the shrimp tempura was light, crisp, and perfectly fried. The fried chicken was juicy on the inside with an irresistible crunchy coating. The veggie sushi was fresh and beautifully presented, and the freshly made soba noodles had an incredible texture and taste that you can only get when it’s handmade on-site. To top it off, we enjoyed cocktails and beer that paired wonderfully with the food. The drinks menu is just as thoughtfully crafted as the food, with something for everyone. The service was friendly, efficient, and attentive without ever feeling rushed — impressive given how busy this spot can get. If you’re visiting Tokyo, Gonpachi Nishiazabu is more than just a place to eat — it’s an experience. Amazing food, iconic setting, and a vibe that makes you want to stay all night.

Known to the westerners as the “Kill Bill” restaurant, this was so much more. We made a reservation for 5PM and were welcomed by the entire staff upon entering. The drinks were great and the shareable plates were absolutely wonderful. A fun environment with food and service and price that was above expectations. Highly recommend!
Scott B — Google review
Reserved a table a few weeks beforehand to ensure we had the Halal menu. We booked the set Halal menu but on arrival realised you could order halal a la carte at a more affordable price. Overall would definitely recommend - the wagyu steak was particularly amazing! The service and atmosphere was great too.
Amna — Google review
Very unique interior design — it even seems to have inspired the movie Kill Bill. The entrance is lined with photos of famous visitors like Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, and Johnny Depp, which definitely adds to the fun atmosphere. The staff speak English well and were very friendly. The kitchen team and owner appear to be non-Japanese. While that doesn’t really matter, it does give the place a more international feel - rather than showcase a purely local taste. The food itself was okay, but the overall experience was enjoyable thanks to the cool and memorable setting.
AK09 — Google review
MUST VISIT!!! Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu is such an AMAZING, fun, lit up place, guaranteed to make you want to stay all night. The staff were welcoming, kind and the waiters were humorous! The music made the atmosphere so fun, it felt like I had butterflies as soon as I entered the restaurant. The food so delicious, you can watch the chefs cooking. The lighting and decoration is great as well. Theres an upstairs with more seating, and you can get a great view of the downstairs area. Lots of people come to know this restaurant as the “Kill Bill Restaurant“, but honestly, if you came without even knowing about Kill Bill, you’d still have so much fun. - Delicious food - Great staff - Beautiful atmosphere - Fun music - Tourist friendly - English speaking

Driven by curiosity and a passion for the popular movie "Kill Bill," I went here for dinner. A very unique and fun restaurant, with plenty of seating. I arrived without a reservation but I didn't have to wait long for dinner. The waiters were very friendly and the food was succulent.

Love Love Love Gon Pachi, the atmosphere , the music, the decor, the food and our waiter Taukir was amazing!!!!!! Maybe because I love the Kill Bill movies and the famous fighting scene was inspired from this establishment. My expectations were met. This place was a tick off my bucket list and I’ll never forget it, so much that we’re going back again tonight. A MUST VISIT

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 We booked Gopanchi well in advance before our trip to Japan after hearing so many great things — and it absolutely did not disappoint! The atmosphere was wonderful, lively yet comfortable, and the food portions were generous and beautifully presented. The staff were warm and accommodating, and a special shout-out to Nicki, who was incredibly friendly and took great care of us throughout the evening. Overall, an amazing dining experience — we’d definitely love to come back on our next visit to Tokyo!

Ichiran Ramen is a renowned informal restaurant in Japan, particularly famous for its tonkotsu ramen made with pork bone broth. Established in 1960 in Fukuoka, it has become one of the country's most dedicated ramen establishments. The single-booth seating arrangement makes it popular among solo diners, although the barriers can be adjusted for couples and groups. Located near Jingu-mae station, Ichiran offers customizable options to create your own favorite ramen.
This place was cool. Order at the little kiosk when you walk in then go find a little table. Each table sits 1 person with privacy walls. Drinkable water on tap at each table. Easy spot to go eat by yourself or with one friend. And it was delicious!!!!
Christina S — Google review
When there on a Monday around 9pm, still have a long line. Waited about 25mins and get seated. Order with the machine so it is easy. The ramen is delicious to me, but the price is a little higher compared to regular ramen, with a small portion size of noodles. So you will buy extra noodles. Still a good ramen overall.
Chia W — Google review
I had been meaning to visit Ichiran for awhile but put it off because I felt it was more about the experience and less going to have actual good ramen. So I went into it not expecting much. I woke up jet lagged at 4AM and it was one of the few spots near me that was open, which was great. I decided to give it a shot. The ordering process was very simple and the price was quite affordable. After ordering at the kiosk, I found myself a seat. The curtain opened soon after providing me my beer and an unpeeled egg. There were lots of instructions at my seat and even an option where you could make the indication that you are not familiar with the ordering process. So newcomers should feel comforted coming here. The ramen came out way better than I had anticipated and was actually good tonkotsu. I got extra onions which were a great touch. There is a water spout at each table which is nice. Definitely an all around enjoyable experience and I didn’t have to wait in line since it was the middle of the night (but still almost full seating).
Justin N — Google review
Probably one of the best ramen places in Tokyo. Amazing taste, rich but balanced in flavours. A tip, don’t skip the spicy sauce, it is preparare by them with an elaborated recipe, you can choose how strong it should be according to your taste. We went in the evening, around 20:00 and there was about 20 minutes waiting time but totally worth it. Very recommended!
Rosen K — Google review
I stopped by for lunch here and it was great! It took 30-40 minutes to be seated even though I came in around 1pm. They had you take a ticket on which there is a qr code with your placement in the queue. You choose to get notifications either via Line, or email and then you go out an wait. When it's almost time for you, they send you a notification in which you use to come back and make your order at the machine. You take your ticket with you and wait in line and fill out a preference paperwork while waiting for the group ahead of you to finish eating and then you get seated. Once seated, I wasn't getting anything done or served and so I used the call bell to call for assistance and then the waiter took my ticket and took my preference paperwork and my meal was served in about 5 minutes. All in all, I'd say waiting to about 45 minutes to an hour to be seated and served. I was starving at that point and so I can honestly say I was done eating my meal in under 5 minutes 😅. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
Mawu N — Google review
I loved the ramen at this place; it's possibly one of the best value places in Tokyo. I ordered the classic ramen with pork and green onions, mild spice, medium noodle texture, medium dashi, garlic, and medium richness. The broth was incredibly flavorful. This dish cost me 1,080 yen and water is free. The only downside is that the place is small, and we had to wait in line for over an hour to sit down and eat. They don't take reservations and one of the most relevant features of the site is that you eat alone. I recommend it.
Jesús ( — Google review
Had to visit Ichiran one more time before leaving Tokyo. This time, I tried a different location in Shinjuku—and it was just as good as the one I had yesterday. Another bowl of rich, flavorful ramen—left nothing behind, not even a drop of soup. Came at 8 AM for breakfast and walked right in with no wait. Perfect start to the day.
Teadrinker — Google review
Fantastic ramen! I've never experienced a place like this, and thought it was very strange and odd for a westerner, but I ended up loving it. You basically have your own individual Booth, even if you are with family or friends. You were supposed to enjoy the ramen as an individual without distraction so there are dividers. You are served through little slide booths ahead of you. Very fun experience

Kaikaya by the Sea is a cozy and simple venue in Shibuya, Tokyo, offering Japanese fusion cuisine with a focus on seafood. Despite its location in one of Tokyo's busiest districts, it provides a seaside restaurant experience with fresh seafood dishes and seasonal specials. The restaurant serves as an izakaya where patrons can enjoy food and sake, but also offers creative Japanese dishes at reasonable prices for lunch.
An unforgettable dining experience! We absolutely loved our evening at Kaikaya by the Sea! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome — warm, attentive, and full of personality. The atmosphere was cozy yet vibrant, perfect for a memorable night out. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was a burst of flavor and beautifully presented — fresh seafood, creative Japanese fusion, and seasonal specials that blew us away. You can really feel the passion behind every plate. We left with full hearts (and stomachs), already planning our next visit. This is hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in Tokyo!

A bit touristy for sure, as it has been included on social media a lot lately - but the waitor was really sweet and even knew some Swedish, witch is a first here in Tokyo for me! We were 5 people and got a table pretty easily on a Saturday night. There is only the option to do a full course menu so beware of that, the minimum is about 5-6000 yen pp but you get A LOT of food. The food was beautiful (for the most part) and mostly of good quality. Weirdly enough our favorite was the beef at this seafood restaurant! The one thing that drives the grade down is that on the latter part of the course menu there was a soup with potatoes and fish, which had a lot of bones and just did not feel like it belonged at all. Sort of interrupted the flow of the meal. The dessert was a bit on the simple side, but allright. There was some issue with ordering water, there seemed to be confusion and we had to wait for a long while to get water with our food, which was a bit annoying. But otherwise, great staff and service!
Adrian B — Google review
Vibey spot for a range of delicious Japanese dishes with a wonderful staff - we did the Tsuki course, and it was flavourful and sizeable. The tofu soup, the carpaccio, the crab gratin, the chicken yakitori and the prawns were our favourite dishes. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, our only qualm was that the courses came out rapidly so we had to ask them to slow down a bit (which they were happy to do). Lovely decor and good vibes overall. They seem to have one location for tourists and one for locals, which is a bit of a shame if you want to be immersed in a local spot (since they do have that) but it doesn’t take away from the experience and we had a lovely time. Would go back!
Nandini M — Google review
Second visit for us. Atmosphere is still great, casual and publike. As they mostly serve Set Menus, many items like the sashimi platters are prepared in advance and kept chilled. Overall, it's a nice experience but you could find better food quality in many other places in Tokyo at this price range.
TM — Google review
Absolutely sensational experience, unmissable especially if you are coeliac. On top of generally excellent service, the staff graciously and efficiently catered to my partner's intolerance to gluten (fairly rare in our experience of Japan). We were very impressed that they could alter the course meals to suit our food needs, even though we didn't have a reservation. The food itself was top notch, the atmosphere relaxed and funky, and the waitstaff incredibly kind and accommodating. I've seen some reviews saying this place is expensive, but I haven't seen a better price for so much food of this calibre. Best dining experience for us in Tokyo so far.
Claire — Google review
I’ve been coming here for more than 10 years. We did a la carte by nostalgia but seems like they have dedicated courses now. You should definitely try the tuna spare rib. The special cocktail namakura is a must drink too.

Best 9-course omakase in Tokyo $120pp only @kaikaya_bythesea offers the most unique and excellent omakase experience that includes the freshest of fresh seafood and meats, including some homemade desserts. Every dish is a culinary masterpiece by the chef. 1. Half moon tofu with sesame seeds creamy sauce 2. Live tiger prawns boiled in salt 3. Two pieces of otoro sushi & crab and salmon roe stuffed in a crab shell 4. Seven kinda of fresh fish sashimi 5. Snow crab legs tempura and fish cakes zeppoli style 6. Stuffed with Gorgonzola risotto oven baked baby abalone 7. Branded chicken kohakudori and domestic duck yakitori 8. Wagyu zabuton beef tagliata 9. Homemade cherry blossom icecream and seasonal sweets 10. Traditional Japanese soup Everything tastes simply amazing, especially the sashimi and the beef were the showstoppers of the menu. But honestly I’d definitely be coming back here to dine again on my next trip to Japan. It was the best omakase experience I’ve ever had. Also the service is very very prompt, the moment you done with one course, the best is brought out in no time so no waiting and that’s a great sign. The staff all are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. We had the best time here. Highly recommend @kaikaya_bythesea for a fantastic, authentic yet unique Japanese omakase experience.

Simply amazing, their set menus are really high-end and filling. You get a lot of items which makes it difficult to explain one by one. We went for Yuki which was the most basic set menu but it was certainly great.

Gyumon is a cozy yakiniku restaurant located in Shibuya, Japan, offering a unique halal dining experience for Muslim travelers. The restaurant provides individual charcoal stoves at each table for grilling high-quality cuts of beef, which are certified halal by the Malaysia Halal Corporation. Gyumon's menu features halal sets and course menus to cater to Muslim dietary needs and make ordering easier for beginners.
Incredible meat quality, perfectly grilled at the table, and packed with flavour. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and great recommendations. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit — a must-try for any meat lover in Tokyo!
Amelda H — Google review
The food was excellent. Service can be improved. Waiting time was quite a while. Some cooking tips before we started cooking the meat would be nice. Atmosphere is ok. Overall the whole experience was really good. Will be back again definitely.

I found this place on the map and decided to give it a try. As soon as I entered the store, I felt a very Japanese atmosphere. The prices are not cheap, but it's definitely worth it! The beef is delicious and the chicken is great too. The service is good.
Tianyang Y — Google review
Their A5 Wagyu is excellent, but the other meats are just average. The shop is quite small, so it can get pretty hot when a few tables are grilling at the same time. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. The location is also easy to find. Overall, definitely recommend this place!
Farhad H — Google review
The food was super duper nice. Wagyu meat was so juicy and tender, regardless of the parts - we can’t pick our favourite part! Meat was also naturally sweet. Love it and would highly recommend dining here for the yakiniku experience. Service was tip top. Shout out to Calvin and Nagisa for the great great service! We had a wholesome experience thanks to them <3
Amirulariff9612 — Google review
Meat is succulent and the portion is generous; more than enough for 1 person. Calvin persuaded me to try the strawberry pudding. I’m not a pudding person but give it a try anyway, and who knows it tastes really good just as described - taste like soft serve ice cream with strawberry yogurt flavour. I love it already. Service was excellent, they’re kept engaging in a friendly conversation. Such happy vibes they created. Worth repeating next!
Mieza_capri A — Google review
I’m American. Great experience. Calvin was super helpful. He speaks English. I ordered the premium set. It was just the right amount of food. The pudding is surprisingly really good! Ask for salt if you don’t like the marinade.
David Y — Google review
One of the worst ramen experiences I’ve had in Tokyo and at nearly three times the usual price. A simple bowl cost ¥3,700, which is outrageous considering the quality. The beef was tough and far below Tokyo’s usual standards. Service was okay, but honestly, there are hundreds of ramen shops around Shibuya that are much better and far more affordable. The only reason to visit this place is if you specifically need Halal food otherwise, I can’t recommend it.

Takeout Restaurant
Shibuya Kaomangai Thai Chicken Rice is a cozy eatery in the heart of Shibuya, offering authentic Thai cuisine with a focus on their specialty dish, Kaomangai. The restaurant's simple yet inviting decor creates an atmosphere reminiscent of Thailand. Diners can savor steamed chicken over rice with delectable sauce and complimentary coriander. Additional options include extra sauce, coriander, rice, or double chicken for a nominal fee.
Nice concept to specialize on one dish and do it perfectly, staff were very nice service was good and food didn’t take long to arrive. As a Thai person my self the food tasted very authentic and the price was good, the atmosphere and design of the restaurant was very Thai street food esque and it was so nostalgic especially the cups they use to give water 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back.
Pentor — Google review
Great taste of Thai style Kaomangai. Extra Phakshii can be served upon request. Set menu with a drink is a perfect.
Badtzmaru C — Google review
One of the amazing things about Tokyo is their dedication to doing one thing and doing it really well. This restaurant is dedicated to kaomangai—finely sliced chicken breast served over white rice and served with a sauce, coriander, and cucumber. It’s a Thai dish that is simple, delicious, and relatively healthy and it’s the only thing this restaurant serves, unless you count the chicken soup they make from the leftover bones and chicken bits. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area. For a little extra, you can add more rice and/or more chicken. I recommend adding more chicken. And my favorite thing, it is really easy to get the food to go!!
Matthew S — Google review
Their Khao Man Gai meal is quite good but I have reservations about this place. On the plus side, the subtle taste of the boiled chicken is accentuated by the accompanying slightly spicy dark sauce. The downside is that the rice is just plain jasmine rice. That should be replaced with chicken oily rice for a better Thai food experience and for justifying the rather hefty price of ¥850 for a simple meal (¥1250 for double the chicken portion). I think they have the time to prepare chicken oily rice since their menu has two items only. P.S. if you order extra meat for the Khao Man Gai, ask for an extra serving of the sauce (it’s free!).
Ron D — Google review
I feel here like Thailand !!♥️ The style of decoration of the shop, the atmosphere is like in real Thailand. Who misses Khao Man Gai like Thailand, Please come and try this restaurant. This time is my 2nd time to visit this restaurant. It's about an 8-9 minute walk from Shibuya Station. Here is very similar the original Chicken rice In Thailand. They offer free soup, dipping sauce, and coriander. For me who is Thai people I confirmed that it's very delicious chicken rice. The chicken is tender and juicy not hard it is really good, rice cooked very well. Beautifully arranged grains with the use of rice from Thailand So it came out very similar to Thailand. for dipping sauce The shop is well made. adapted to the taste that Japanese people like. Today I asked for more fresh chili. Because I like spicy. For Thai people, according to my opinion, I think add soybean paste, minced ginger and a bit more chili. It will be mellow and taste very much like in Thailand. Anyway Its so delicious and I'm very happy today. คิดถึงข้าวมันไก่ประตูน้ำ มาที่นี่เเล้วจะหายคิดถึง

Great Thai chicken rice that is comparatively better than many other restaurants that serve the same dish. Order is fast and efficient, service is friendly and excellent. Highly recommended. Store accepts electronic payment like PayPay along with usual payment methods.

What a gem and rare find in the middle of shibuya. An authentic Thai restaurant that serves one thing and one thing only... Kaomangai! Basically steamed chicken over rice 🐔 🍚 with awesome sauce. You can ask for extra sauce and coriander for free. Extra rice is an extra 50¥, double chicken is extra 400¥, and upgrade your broth to bone soup (highly recommended) is only another 50¥. If you do nothing extra, one order is 850¥, comes with chicken on rice, sauce, coriander, and a bowl of chicken broth. Going to be back here many times. Don't forget to check the app for coupons

Oreryu Shio-Ramen offers a delightful dining experience in Tokyo. The restaurant provides a comforting atmosphere with its bright and inviting setting and friendly staff. Customers can choose from a delicious broth, with options for clear or thick, and the choice of adding spice. The portion sizes are generous, leaving diners feeling satisfied. Ordering is convenient through a machine at the front, with English menus available for international visitors.
Outstanding. I usually don’t use Google reviews as my first frame of reference for restaurants in Japan, but this one did not disappoint. I wish I could have 10 more of these ramen bowls but alas the human body has its limits. The chicken karaage and chashu toppings, the noodle textures, and the broth were so good I was sad to have completed my meal. You can also add dried seaweed and shredded kelp on top of your ramen bowls, and even those were super special. One day, I shall return.
Deborah W — Google review
Was very nice of the front staff who allowed us to change from takeaway to dine in when it was our turn. It was a bigger shop than some of the popular ones so they are able to take in more groups rather than just solos or couples. I remember I enjoyed their noodles texture with it being quite springy. A pity I didn't get to try the signature ones so I would like to go again.
JT Y — Google review
Rating: 3.0 We decided to visit Oreryū Shio Ramen Jingūmae for a casual evening meal after reading a number of recommendations online. Arriving around 8:00 p.m., we found a short line outside, but the wait time was only about 10 minutes. Considering the size of the restaurant, quite spacious for a ramen shop, the customer turnover was smooth and efficient. At first, things seemed promising. Unfortunately, our impression quickly shifted once seated. While the table setup was acceptable, the overall atmosphere revealed a restaurant that has clearly passed its prime. The most striking issue was the ceiling, patches of mold were clearly visible. This not only created an unpleasant environment but also set a very discouraging tone before we had even ordered. Still, having already committed, we decided to give the food a fair chance. Sadly, the dishes did not redeem the experience. The Shrimp Wonton Ramen, though generously portioned and reasonably priced, was deeply disappointing. The broth lacked depth, umami, or any memorable flavor. The wontons themselves were coarsely minced, with shrimp pieces containing unpleasantly large chunks and cartilage that made the texture unenjoyable. The Special Tonkotsu Ramen fared no better. Despite looking appetizing when served, rich broth, hearty noodles, and a visually appealing bowl, the flavor was flat and uninspiring. Tonkotsu ramen is supposed to be rich, creamy, and soul-warming, but this one felt hollow, as if the essence had been lost along the way. The only redeeming dish of the evening was the grilled chicken, which was well-prepared, flavorful, and tender. Unfortunately, one good side dish was not enough to save the entire meal.

Decent selection of ramen. Staff very welcoming. Expect to line up as it can get busy. The food will come out fast though. The menu all has pictures so you can see what you’re getting. Recommend to get the lunch deals for good value.

We were looking for some local ramen shop so we decided to came here by google reviews. As we saw the waiting line outside seems very promising. We waited for about 15-20 minutes to get the table. The ramen tasted good although they’re not matched my personal taste as much. Most of customers seems to be foreigners not many local as I’ve seen.

🍜 Ningyōchō Ramen Inase is one of my favourite ramen spots in Tokyo. Tucked away in the charming Ningyōchō neighbourhood, this cozy little shop serves hearty clam ramen that’s both comforting and full of flavour. It’s open late and loved by locals — a perfect stop after an evening stroll. The staff are warm and welcoming, even if English is limited, and they make the experience feel genuinely local. Prices are super affordable, and you can even take home their beautifully printed anime-style menu as a free souvenir. A true taste of authentic Tokyo hospitality and flavour!

Oreryu Shio-Ramen is a fantastic ramen spot that truly delivers on all fronts—flavor, service, and ambiance. The broth is rich and perfectly balanced, the noodles have just the right chew, and the toppings are generous and fresh, especially the tender chashu and crispy karaage. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. The shop is clean and cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it a great place to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal. Highly recommended for anyone craving a comforting and high-quality bowl of ramen in Tokyo!

I came across at this ramen shop in a quieter-not so crowded alleyway from Yoyogi park at around 4PM for a late lunch. A few other foreigners and some locals were there, got my orders from a ticket machine outside and a staff will attend for you to enter and get seated. I really enjoyed the ramen not too salty for my liking (thought I wouldn’t able to finish it because of the “generous” serving) and the karaage 🙂 would probably visit again together with my brother soon! *one of the tastiest ramen I had so far 😋 (02/2024) Last Feb 19, 2025 again we visited this ramen shop and I tried the same ramen but a little spicier. YUM! That garlic special ramen was a bit too much for one person— and a little spicy for my friend even though it has the cheese with it.

🍛 A Wild, Wonderful Experience at Magic Spice Tokyo Where do I even begin with @magicspice_tokyo? My wife stumbled across this place, and I’m so glad she did because it was a truly unforgettable experience—one that felt like a trip to another dimension rather than just another Tokyo restaurant. Stepping inside, we were hit with a riot of colours, incense-laden air, and an almost otherworldly, Buddhist-inspired vibe. The décor was wild, the music eclectic, and the atmosphere felt like it belonged somewhere between an Indian bazaar and a spiritual retreat. It’s safe to say we were transported far away from the Tokyo we’d come to know. But the real star here was the soup curry—a comforting, spicy, and deeply satisfying bowl of goodness that was unlike anything I’ve tasted before. It had a complex depth of flavours, with hints of Indian spices balanced perfectly in a rich broth that was both light and hearty. Each sip felt like a warm hug, especially after a long day exploring the city. Magic Spice Tokyo is the kind of place that’s not just about the food (which is fantastic) but also about the experience. It’s a place where cultures, flavours, and worlds collide in the best possible way. If you’re looking for a unique Tokyo food adventure that’s a little bit different and a lot of fun, this is the place to go. #MagicSpice #SoupCurryTokyo #TokyoEats #JapanAdventure #CoupleTravels

The spice levels can be customized, so it’s enjoyable for everyone from mild to super spicy lovers. The atmosphere is vibrant and colorful, with a fun and quirky vibe that makes the meal even more memorable. The portions are generous, and the ingredients taste fresh. A must-visit spot in Shimokitazawa for curry fans!

I'm an Indian and I loved the restaurant atmosphere, especially the lord ganesh statue. very lively ! Since I'm new here and started experiencing Japanese food very recently, I couldn't comment much about the authenticity or taste. However, the chai being served here is excellent. I could feel a variety of spices present in it and simply a fresh taste. It is very different from the traditional indian chai. I felt it is unique with multiple spices added to it.

Not your typical Japanese curry. This is a soup curry, just so you know what you’re getting yourself into. With that said, this place was bomb! They got so many options but very straight forward ordering. And the vibes are so psychedelic, yet inviting. Def coming here again.
Paul Y — Google review
Very unique soup curry restaurant. The building is very easy to spot with its psychedelic murals covering it. They are known for their extreme spice levels. In addition to the spice, there are many toppings and even the option of adding CBD to your curry. Maybe this was a way to counteract some of the pain from the spice? They brew their own beer as well and it was fantastic.
Max K — Google review
Score just based on my opinion and tasted preferences. Heard the hype of this curry place and saw the reviews so decided to try for myself. First impression, it didn't look like curry, didn't smell like curry, certainly didn't taste like curry. More like a Sichuan mala soup than not, just less numbing. None of the curry aroma, no any kind of milk or starch to give the soup a little more depth to hold everything together. I was so disappointed but not surprised since I did read some reviews about the watery soup. If some say this is Hokkaido style curry soup, it didn't look like it either. IMHO, this place does not serve curry, just some spiced watery soup with no resemblance of any curry I know of. Chai tea was good though. Anyway, I am quite surprised at the averaged high score in reviews, guess taste is very subjective, oh well...
Edmond S — Google review
Amazing!!! My hunt for spicy food led me to Magic Spice, and it absolutely delivered! The soup curry is a unique and flavorful experience, and with seven spice levels, you can truly tailor the heat. I cranked it up and was thrilled with the intensity and depth of flavor. A must-visit for spice lovers!

This is the original soup curry restaurant with its main branch in Hokkaido. Although this restaurant's curry is called curry, it is very difficult to describe its unique spicy flavor. However, once you take a bite, you will surely be captivated by the spice and flavor.🍛🍛🌶🌶 You can create your own original curry by adding your own spiciness and toppings. We recommend that you try this soup curry and discover a new world for yourself.👍✨

This was our favorite place in Shibuya! It’s the perfect comfort food after hours of walking around and exploring. The curry is so tasty and the meat is tender. Service is very quick, so even though there was a line, we didn’t have to wait long. It’s pretty small inside with about 10.. maybe 15 bar seats, but it doesn’t feel squished. They give you a bucket under your chair to hold your bags and purses, which is helpful. Overall, I would go here again and again for the food. Delicious!

9 counter seats in the store so a queue will form quickly but it does move relatively fast enough. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Although counter seats, but quite comfortable, not squishingly small. Serivce is fast, expect to get your food at most 5 min wait. Food wise, the curry is very good. The pork katsu and pork filet katsu is the thin type, not thick cut type. That's why most dishes have 4 pieces or 6 pieces. I will recommend to come here, unless you are looking for the thick cut type.

Pork and vegetable cutlets fried to perfection, perfectly seasoned and served with some tea and soup in a cozy little modern izakaya. Loved the ambience in there, food came out picture perfect and service was efficient and friendly. Takeout Restaurant
Tsukemen Yasubee is a popular spot in Shibuya, known for its delicious and satisfying teishoku meals. This Japanese restaurant opens early, making it a great place to enjoy a hearty meal around 10:30 am. The spicy tsukumen and ramen are highly recommended, especially for those with big appetites. Despite its small size and limited seating, the restaurant provides a comfortable dining experience with options for counter or table seats.
very authentic Tsukemen. got the soy broth and it came with a big bowl of hot noodles even though it is the smallest set. I had it for supper and couldnt finish! will be back!
Jason H — Google review
I ordered the spicy miso tsukemen with special toppings and an extra egg. As with most Japanese claims of "spicy", it wasn't spicy at all, but that's to be expected. The broth was a thinner style but packed a punch of rich flavor. The noodles had good texture and chew to them, and the egg was cooked perfectly with that ooey gooey texture. The dumplings were also very tasty. However, it wasn't all good. The broth is not hot enough. It's just kinda lukewarm. When you add the cold noodles, the broth cools down almost immediately. This runs the whole experience, imho. Also, the chashu is ok, but not that great and is easily the weakest component. I works suggest ordering with the hot noodles instead of cold as that might help the soup situation. I also like that they gave fish powder, vinegar, and chopped onions on the counter so you can adjust the flavor.
Binh N — Google review
The tsukemen here was outstanding. The broth wasn’t overly salty like at many other places; instead, it had a deep, savory flavor that was really well-balanced. I ordered the set that came with pork and egg, and chose the medium portion of noodles. The serving size was perfect—filling but not overwhelming. I noticed the large portion at another table, and it honestly looked like enough for two people, so I’d recommend sticking with medium unless you’re extremely hungry. When I visited, there was no line and I walked right in, but within minutes, about five groups were waiting behind me. Timing really matters here, so you may need a bit of luck. A nice touch is that once you’ve finished the noodles, you can ask the chef by saying “soup kudasai.” They’ll give you a warm cup of broth, which you mix into the leftover dipping sauce. It mellows out the saltiness, brings the temperature up to just right, and makes for a satisfying, refreshing finish. Overall, this was the best tsukemen I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend this spot.
Taehyun T — Google review
Ramen is flavourful with the right texture, broth is really really tasty especially the spicy one it's not really spicy. Unfortunately meat has to be bought separately which cost another 400yen on top of the noodles 920yen. Can be busy during lunch hours and you have to buy the ticket from the vending machine with cash only.

June 2023: if there were a six star option, this would definitely be deserving of six! I visited just at the right moment when there was just a couple of people before me in the queue. As a solo customer, I got a seat fairly quickly. What was confusing was that the small sized portion comes with a free topping. No need to choose choice of free topping at the “vending machine stage”. The waiter will come along to ask u for what is the free topping. For me, he refunded me the cost of the topping which I selected at the machine. I selected choice #13. Spicy miso + additional seaweed topping. Was fabulous! Will definitely wanna visit again!!!

Ordered their spicy tsukumen, Ramen are really tasty. If you have really big appetite, you shouldn't miss this restaurant. We arrive around 1145 lunch time, people started lining up outside the store. Very small store with limited seats available in store. One thing I really like is that they prepared 3 different languages menu just right above the ticket machine, English, Chinese and Korean language menu. That's really thoughtful for foreigners. And is a yes, that I recommend this restaurant.
Bryan K — Google review
This location just opened recently and had a chance to try it for dinner tonight. I normally do not like this style of ramen because the sauces tend to be greasy and fishy. This one surprised me. The sauce was not greasy, rather it was very flavorful and not heavy. I chose the spicy sauce and, to me, it was not spicy enough. But, I like thd noodles, they were really QQQ, very satisfying. Many men ate there because the three sizes were for the same price and, of course, they chose large. Good value and tasty!

Torikatsu Chicken Shibuya is a hidden gem located in a forgotten back-alley building, offering classic Japanese snacks at surprisingly low prices. The restaurant specializes in deep-fried cutlets of meat and vegetables breaded with panko. One popular set meal includes a chicken cutlet, ham cutlet, croquette, rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage for an affordable price. Additionally, customers can enjoy teishoku (set meals) with various fried items at great value.
This katsu curry restaurant in Shibuya has a really traditional look and atmosphere, and the food is amazing easily the best katsu I’ve had. The curry was rich and flavourful, the katsu perfectly crispy, and the prices are very affordable. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. My wife and I had lunch at Torikatsu Chicken and ordered the chicken, squid, onion, and crab croquette set. Everything was freshly fried, crispy, and tasty...the chicken was juicy, the squid had a nice bite, and the croquette was creamy. The place is small, cash-only, and has a nostalgic charm. One thing to know: everyone must order their own set, you can’t share just one. For the price, it’s one of the best-value meals in Shibuya.

The epitome of how the Japanese can perfect a simple type of food and deliver a wonderful experience. Be warned: if you’re looking for something spectacular or fantastical, this may not be the best place for you (my boyfriend was somewhat disappointed in the normality of the food) However, if you appreciate really good ingredients cooked with love to make a perfect balance of flavors, it’s definitely a place to visit. We ordered the ham katsu, the chicken katsu and some croquettes. Everything was fried to perfection and especially the rice was just beautiful. The rice was like nothing I ever had before, which is saying something because I’m Korean. It was fluffy, it was tasty and the auntie even asked if we wanted more when we were done. The prices are also very fair considering it’s in the heart of Shibuya and other restaurants nearby would get at least 50% more of this price so if you’re in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend visiting if you wanna try good local food.

Freshly prepared, great taste for a good price. Chicken, Ham, Squid, Fish all was very good. The dish and preparation is simple and very tasty just what we wanted to try.

Menhan Shokudo Nakajima is a casual diner located near Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, offering generous portions of Chinese noodle bowls and fried gyoza at budget-friendly prices. Despite being hidden in the basement of an unassuming building, it has earned a Michelin star for its excellent seafood dishes, particularly the sardine lunch sets priced at only 800 yen.
My favorite tantanmen right now. Their fried rice is also delicious. Service is amazing, layout is fire, and atmosphere is cool. One of the best places to eat in Tokyo area. Just go and try anything. A must-go if you are in Tokyo. Don’t miss out!

The ramen here is very special! I ordered the spicy pork, Ramen, and I really loved everything about it, it was creamy, savory, spicy, salty, and pretty much just perfect. Brother got the miso ramen and I really liked his too. Prices are between 800-1000 yen. They also offer fried rice and other dishes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You will need to use google translator here as the menu and ordering machine is totally in Japanese. Atmosphere is very cool. Great smells and fun to watch the food be prepared. I would definitely come back here again!

I wanted some vegetable tanmen and came across this place in my search so gave it a try. It’s got a nice ambiance with tables and chairs, and a nice high ceiling. The tanmen was really good and the broth was super tasty. The gyoza had a crunchy bottom which I like, but the inside wasn’t warm enough in my opinion, so they kinda fell fat for me. Pretty big portions for decent prices. I’d probably come back for some other items in the future. Fast and friendly service.

Had the most delicious fried rice here! I was helped with the machine as soon as I arrived as it was in Japanese. Seeing the chefs prepare the food and deliver it you made you feel that it was done with love and care. And upon departing, having all the chefs thanking you and saying goodbye was an excellent way to end the experience.

ramen was meh, could have a lot more flavor. Forgot the other meal but my boyfriend says it’s normal and spicy taste-wise. The staff are quite accommodating.

Tried two different kinds of hiyashi chuka. The one with the meat sauce was very flavorful. The regular one was also good. The noodles have nice texture that carry a bite. I will be back to try their hot ramen options too.

Pan-Asian restaurant
Singapore Holic Laksa is a hidden gem in Shibuya that specializes in serving up delicious laksa, a spicy Southeast Asian noodle soup with a rich shrimp-and-coconut broth. The small size laksa is priced at 770 and can be customized to your preferred spice level. If you're looking for something lighter, try the shan yu mazesoba-style noodles marinated in shrimp oil starting from 880.
Halal and a really cozy ambiance. It's near Shibuya crossing but the road is not that much crowded. The location is really easy to find. It is on the 2nd floor. Both outside and inside of the lift, they put proper signs to follow correctly. On About the food, I first time tried Singaporean food and I loved it. The put may be shrimp sauce in the soup. You can taste lots of flavor bursting in your mouth. With coconut milk, the spices and shrimp combination is mind-blowing. The lunch set is a good deal for me. I took an S size which is enough for me. The rice is just simple Jasmin rice with salt. Like salty-flavored rice with chicken shredded. Very simple yet classic combo. The noodles are long and really chewing. It's not like ramen or other noodles. Recommendation: Laska & chicken rice set 9.5/10
Sadia O — Google review
Came here during weekdays lunch. I would like to highlight their omurice laksa is a fantastic fusion food! You can taste their curry but with little touch from laksa flavor. Ambience is really good. Cool air conditioner and the restroom is spacious. Good for meeting up with people
Jason — Google review
Visited here one rainy Saturday night and I’m certain that this will be ny go-to Laksa Place when I’m craving a good and affordable Laksa. I don’t really mind that they don’t have varieties of noodles since the noodles the use is the kind of noodles that’s meant for Laksa. How convenient is it that you can choose the serving size and add more toppings if you want to. Compared to other Laksa restaurants serving the original dish, this is really affordable. Did not wait long as well 🥹 So glad I found this gem in a place like Shibuya.
Sakura A — Google review
They use halal chicken. We ordered the laksa, fried rice, and omurice. The fried rice was a little on the saltier side, but overall, the menu we ordered were all tasty. I think the price point is quite high compared to the portion you get, but the place is clean and comfortable, and it opens until late at night (where other restaurants around typically closed at 9PM) so we were quite happy with this place.
Salsabila A — Google review
Great surprise. Good taste, real Singapore spicy level. The chicken rice was surprisingly good as well. Good ambiance. A bit pricey though. If the coriander was included in the regular laksa, they would reach another level. But they charge it separately, which is a point lost…. 😞
Edu G — Google review
Love the food over here. Laksa was my favorite, it was so delicious. Omorice curry was sweet but good . Halal 100% . I will surely like to try their gyozas n other side dishes next time.
OISHI T — Google review
The menu here is pretty simple, you get the laksa with noodles or with a rice set. There’s also an omurice with the laksa sauce. In any case, it’s all pretty good. First time trying in my life, tastes like a variant of Tom yum soup, but creamier. Cute cozy vibes as well!
Paul Y — Google review
It's been a while since I had laksa in Singapore but here it tastes close to how I remember it. The noodles have a nice texture and the soup is delicious and spicy 🌶️. For dinner a big bowl is around 2000¥ with a few toppings. For lunch it comes with chicken rice as a set. It's not the same as the real one but it tastes comforting and moist. The shop itself is also very clean and comfortable. I just wish they could use better chopsticks because they use very cheap disposable ones that I don't like 😄

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant

Takeout Restaurant
Sushiro is a popular conveyor belt sushi chain in Japan, with numerous locations including 36 stores in Tokyo alone. The restaurant offers a playful and affordable dining experience, with plates starting at just 100 yen. In addition to typical seafood options, Sushiro also serves udon, ramen, fries, and a variety of desserts like parfait, ice cream, and cake. It's known for its bustling and kid-friendly atmosphere that delivers the quintessential kaitenzushi experience.
A Delicious Journey Through the Stars at Sushiro I dropped by Sushiro to check out their Honkai: Star Rail collaboration, and I was pleasantly surprised — both by the fanservice and the food. As a Honkai fan, the themed touches were fun and well-integrated, from character decor to collectible merch, but the real highlight for me was the unagi sushi. Rich, tender, and perfectly glazed with that sweet-savory sauce, the unagi was a standout. It had just the right balance of smokiness and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Paired with the vinegared rice, each bite was satisfying and well-executed — classic, but elevated. Even among all the creative and limited-edition offerings, the unagi sushi held its own as a comforting go-to. The collab itself brought an extra layer of excitement — especially if you’re into both good food and good games. It’s not every day your meal comes with a side of fandom. Would I go again? Absolutely. For the unagi and the nostalgia alike.

Was a fun sushi place and revolving belt except only made to order items and nothing to pick from the revolving belt. Raw fish were pretty fresh but color of some salmon(cheap plates) were questionable. Decent selection of sushi and noodles.

The Sushiro was amazing! You can really tell that they use fresh ingredients and make it fresh right when you order. Compared to Kura this was 50000 times better. They also have make your own sushi for kids and it comes with a toy. You should try it!!!!

A convenient walk from Shinjuku station, Sushiro in Japan is a quintessential visit. Although there isn't much sushi on the conveyor belt, you can order everything through their iPad. Ingredients were fresh while being affordable.

So much fun! One of our favorite meals in Tokyo. The food was delicious and the conveyer belt style service was so fun. We made a reservation ahead of time and even though it was packed we got in pretty quickly. Probably only waited 15-20 minutes. The restaurant is easily accessible next to shinjuku station. Paying per dish is also super convenient!
Tyler H — Google review
Sushi was so absolutely mediocre. Rice was mushy, fishes do not taste fresh and the price does not reflect the quality. Not to say it's expensive but it's just that mediocre. You can do better if you really want the conveyor belt experience although it'll be much more pricier.
Danny L — Google review
Great selection of sushi, very fresh and affordable :)) Their platters are super nice but unfortunately don’t come on the conveyor belt. The udon soup is also great! There is just quite a long wait for a table in the evening, definitely over 30 minutes.

Ichiran is a well-known Japanese ramen chain that has gained popularity among locals and tourists alike. The restaurant specializes in Tonkotsu ramen, a beloved dish originating from Fukuoka Prefecture. This flavorful noodle soup features a rich pork bone broth packed with umami, accompanied by thin straight noodles and topped with slices of pork belly, scallions, and a secret spicy red sauce.
Any time of the day, if you’re craving quick and convenient, tasty ramen, this is the place for you. Fast and easy to order system, you don’t even need to say a word. Out at 3 am on a night out? Just landed from a late flight? Ichiran has got you covered! The ramen is quite good for a chain restaurant and holds its own among local ramen spots. The customisation options allow you to personally tailor your bowl to your liking. Here’s my order sheet for this particular visit: maximum garlic, firm noodles, medium richness, medium Dashi, medium spice, green onions, sliced pork, salted egg. While it may not be S+ tier, I’d still give it a 5 star. It is a decent ramen place, service is quick, easy and it’ll always be there for you. Any time, any day of the week.
Marcus — Google review
This is my second time at this Ichiran 3 days after my original review. It was even better this time, probably because I customized it more to my liking and because I was hungrier and I wasn’t sleep deprived. Broth is quite rich and umami and the noodles as always great, plus the tender chashu and kikurage and negi. While it isn’t the best Tonkotsu Ramen in Japan Ichiran still delivers the quantity of restaurants with consistent quality.

I came back here twice it was so good! I waited both times for about 20-30 minutes but didn’t notice how long it took. First you queue, then order on a machine, and fill out a paper with any modifications you want. People are seated relatively quickly and it’s so nice to have your own booth.
La P — Google review
We ordered two ramens with mushrooms and seaweed. The flavours were good, but not special and quite salty for our taste. Besides, the place was very crowded and we needed to wait for a little while to get a table. I think you should come to this place more for the experience than the food itself.
D. C — Google review
As a tourist coming from SF Bay Area - the food was fine. However, this is from the perspective of someone that lives in a culinary wonder land that is the SF Bay Area. We have good ramen that is very close to what is served in Japan. So anyone else coming from the same region what makes this place unique will be the service and culture. Eat your food and move on. The busy Tokyo life is what this was designed for. However, don’t wait an hour for this or pop into a nearby alley way and discover food off the beaten path.
Jack L — Google review
This place serves the most delicious ramen I’ve tasted in Tokyo—every bite was perfection. The noodles were cooked exactly how I like them, and the broth-to-noodle ratio was just right. Luckily, the wait was under 20 minutes, possibly because of the rainy weather keeping the usual queues shorter. But even if there were a longer line, it would be worth it! If you’re looking for an outstanding bowl of ramen, don’t miss this spot.
Clarice S — Google review
A must try when you are in Tokyo. The ramen has rich broth and pork slices are perfection. Truly a wonderful experience. Will definitely come again. Do go early as there is a long waiting time for this amazing ramen.

台灣人不要來吃這間 一直被員工當成中國人對待 自己犯錯沒有收到任何道歉 反而被處處刁難 Around 9:30 PM today, I visited the Ichiran Ramen Spain-zaka branch in Shibuya. I ordered a bowl of ramen, four slices of chashu, and a half portion of noodles. The staff handed me a ticket for the half portion. After finishing my meal, I thought the half portion had already been included in the ramen, so I ordered an extra full portion (210 yen) and gave the staff 1,010 yen, expecting 800 yen in change. Later, the staff came and said, “We haven’t given you the half portion yet.” So I replied, “Then I don’t need the full portion, just give me the half portion.” He said, “Okay.” However, they ended up bringing both the half and full portions. I repeated that I only wanted the half portion and didn’t need the full one. They took the full portion away, but I never got my 800 yen change back. After waiting for a while and no one came, I pressed the call button. Another staff member came, but he only spoke English. I tried to explain the situation using the VoiceTra translation app, but he rudely told me to use Google Translate instead. Then he handed me a smartphone with Chinese pinyin input and told me to type using that. I said, “I’m not Chinese, I’m Taiwanese. I don’t use pinyin.” But he replied in a harsh tone, “Just type it, it doesn’t matter.” It was extremely uncomfortable and disrespectful. Even though I explained multiple times that I’m Taiwanese, he ignored that and kept insisting I use pinyin, which was very offensive. Eventually, the first staff member came back and refunded my money, but never apologized. The issue started because he was training a new staff member while handling my order, and failed to give the correct change. I remained calm throughout the situation, but the second staff member’s attitude made me feel like I was the one at fault. At other ramen shops in Japan, I’ve had no problems using VoiceTra to communicate. Only this location treated me so poorly. It was truly a terrible experience. This kind of service is an embarrassment to Japan. I say this as a customer from Taiwan who has always respected Japanese hospitality.

The rich and flavorful broth is crafted from hours of simmering, resulting in an unforgettable taste experience. Diners rave about the tender meat and perfectly cooked noodles that maintain their firmness amidst the delicious soup.
Tried this spot recently and was impressed. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful — you can tell it’s been simmered for hours. The noodles had just the right amount of firmness, holding up well in the soup without getting soggy. Overall, a great bowl of ramen. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food was really good, lemon sours are great and cold. Gyoza was the only thing that was good but not great. Great seeding and even better service
Miguel G — Google review
Came here before 1am so we were the only ones there. Order on a machine outside. I was a bit skeptical and had a very high standard because of the reviews saying this was ‘the best ramen ever’ and I can confirm that it is true. The beef ramen exceeded my expectations. The flavours I cannot describe, it is excellent. They offer several different toppings/sides to try with the ramen and ALL of them tasted amazing. It actually surprised me that a ramen could be so versatile and be complimented by so many different sides. They have instructions in Japanese how to eat the ramen with all of the sides. I watched people outside decide if they wanted to eat this ramen and several of them walked away and in my head I’m thinking they just missed out on an unforgettable ramen experience. Makotoya is in my top 2 of ramen in Japan. I will keep thinking about this ramen long after I leave Japan and I can’t wait for the day I go back and get to eat this again.

Sushi Tokyo Ten Shibuya stands out in the bustling city of Tokyo with its refined omakase dinners at reasonable prices. Located on the third floor of the Shibuya Stream complex, this popular sushi spot offers a weekday omakase lunch and an elaborate omakase dinner. The menu features a variety of sushi, nigiri, and nimono (grilled fish dishes) made with fresh, locally sourced seafood.
Absolutely delicious Omakasa. If you’re in the area and you can get a spot here, I would highly recommend it. I walked by and a friend mentioned to me that it was really good, I’m staying nearby. And so I just knocked on the window as they were getting ready and they were able to squeeze me in. I paid in advance for same day reservation. But they were incredibly accommodating and kind. The food was absolutely incredible, such fresh fish, and each bite was more delicious than the last.

I found this restaurant through ChatGPT searching for an omakase experience that isn’t too expensive. I made a reservation here for lunch for three. We chose a table and our server was super nice. It would have also been fun to sit at the bar in front of the chefs. The food arrived at a nice pace and was delicious. I’d highly recommend a visit.

One of the most value for money omakase lunch we had. Fresh ingredients, quality sushi and nice counter seating and experience.
Paul C — Google review
Came here for omakase. The chef was obviously skilled and the food was overall very good. The nigiri sushi was definitely the highlight. Every piece of sushi was perfect. But other dishes were less impressive. They served steamed lobster but it was overcooked and tough. Also felt there was not enough expensive ingredients to justify the price. No scallops, only one piece of chutoro, no ama ebi. The service was fantastic and it was a really good experience. I would recommend it but don't expect it to blow your mind.
Bruce W — Google review
A 'value' Omakase where you get a large amount of courses for ~10k yen, including lobster, uni (sea urchin), otoro, and other fish. Which sounds great on paper, except that you really are just paying for the gimmick of omakase style service - the taste and quality are significantly subpar to legitimate omakase restaurants in Japan. The seafood was in general, not very high quality or fresh tasting. The taste of almost every single dish was bland and boring. For example - whilst the lobster is aesthetic and good for Instagram, the taste is just boiled lobster - there's absolutely nothing going for it. There also isn't enough wasabi in any of the nigiri. The quality of the sushi rice is mediocre. The ordering of the course is completely nonsensical and it ends very abruptly, very much unlike proper omakase in which there's generally a coherent sequence of dishes based on taste profile. I just felt like I was eating slightly better than sushi train quality sushi, at a fancy setting with good service and plating. If you just want to say you tried omakase, then this place is fine, but don't mistake it for actual quality Japanese omakase - to be fair, this is to be expected from the price point. The restaurant does a good job with everything else, like service and ambience.

I keep on coming back to this hidden gem again, again, and again. Every month I am traveling to Japan and couldn’t have one trip without visiting them. No mattter how far from them I am staying 😂 I have never been disappointed by one of their soups. Their soup stock is homemade and doesn’t use artificial flavorings, it’s tasty and addictive. Creative dishes with fish, oysters. Today I had the Sesame soup with Yellowtail. It was fantastic. Regularly they will add new flavors or daily specials. Check them on IG @tonari0701 to get the updates. I love your work guys, keep it up!

By far the best Ramen we have had so far…and we’re 2 weeks into our trip with 2 ramen obsessed kids, so we’ve had a few. This cheeky little number is on another level to everything we’ve had and we are still talking about it as the best meal of the trip. When I say meal, I mean the food and the experience. The guy cooking isn’t going to blow you away with his banter, but he’s running the place single handed and doesn’t need to say anything when his food does all the talking for him. This is a really unknown hidden gem and is well worth taking a detour for. I’d travel across the city to have it again. It’s worth a Michelin star if ever a ramen shop was👌

We had a great experience at Tonari in Shibuya! We ordered the fresh citron ramen and the hot & spicy chicken broth ramen—both were absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and we really appreciated the chef taking a moment to confirm whether we were okay with pork, even though we hadn’t specified anything. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. The spicy chicken ramen was especially impressive—just the right amount of heat with perfectly balanced flavors. Portion sizes were generous and well worth the price. If you don’t eat pork but still want to enjoy a rich, flavorful bowl of ramen, Tonari is definitely worth a visit!

This little shop in the alley of dogzenaka was super cute and intimate. It is close to the Shibuya station as well. It is run by a one man show and is frequented by mostly locals. Watching him make his noodles was therapeutic. His oyster ramen with thin noodles is his specialty and is unlike any flavor profile that I’ve had before. It has oyster richness in his light umami broth with a hint of yuzu and cilantro. His Tsukemen has thick noodles with a slice of chicken topped with a little bit of cilantro, a small dried sardine, fresh spring onion and the soup is a little richer than the regular ramen with hidden oysters inside. Highly recommend the oyster ramen for the first time.

A unique ramen place which uses chicken broth that is not creamy, just clear tasty soup with ramen noodles cooked to the texture we like which is al dente. The oysters with the ramen is also unique and just simply fantastic combination. Nice couple running the place which is tucked away from all the busy alleys.
Henry T — Google review
I love oysters but have never come across oyster ramen before until this place. The oysters were so plump and fresh. The broth was also light and not too salty, which I liked. The noodles were on the softer side but still had somewhat of a bite. The daily special sounded good, so I would come back to try that next.

A cozy ramen shop run by husband-wife duo, some of the few ones which serve chicken broth base. The spicy broth stands up to its name, so order with care. The flavours and textures were spot on!

Oni Soba Fujiya is a cozy 5th-floor eatery in Tokyo, founded by ex-comedian Taku-chan. The shio ramen here is a standout with its light base that brings out the deep flavors of the broth. The lobster ramen offers a unique and delicious experience, featuring a well-balanced marriage of miso and lobster bisque broth. Despite small serving sizes, the flavorful miso soup base and excellent sio ramen make it worth a visit.
the lobster was delicious! the owner is also considerate. The taste might be a little strong for others but the owner gave a dashi to minimize the strongness of the taste.

I was planning to go to the premium version of this restaurant, however it was closed. The standard version is only a standard ramen shop. Nothing special. The salt ramen is good but it is common taste. Price is cheap. Place is small with few seats.
Rodolfo G — Google review
Located on 3F. Service sizes were small but miso soup base was flavourful - you could taste the seafood flavour in it. Noodles were average, lobster was small and over cooked. Meat was taken out and shell was last for decoration. Only has about 8-9 seats. Payment by cash only. Lobster ramen is twice the price of ramen store level underneath. Worth a try but not a second time.

I ordered the basic clear salt soup ramen with egg topping. How it looks is very professional. It's pretty light and easy to eat even for ladies. This is located at the 5th floor of tiny building on Sibuya center street. The space is slightly too small if you mind. It may be good if you just want to finish eating quickly.

850 yen for the shio ramen. Clean delicious broth with all the elements to make a superb bowl of ramen. The charshew is melty just the way i like it and the yuzu peel adds a nice accent.

Tried out the lobster ramen here. Very unique and delicious indeed. A well balanced marriage of miso and lobster bisque broth. Noodles were a little thick, el dente, and perfect for how rich the broth was. Thinking about going again next weekend for seconds. My only gripe was the lobster was not only small but only just half. Still amazing for another unique ramen experience though.

I saw this place from Simiken’s youtube video. We ordered tsukemen and a basic sio ramen which were both great. I think this place serves the best sio ramen in Tokyo. I would like to visit again to try the weekend special ramen!

Stopped by after a long day of shopping and definitely one of the best burgers I’ve had. Coming from LA where the best food is always easily accessible, we had a lot of food in Japan just miss the mark but wow!! We ordered 2 wagyu burgers and they were absolute perfection!! Definitely on the pricier end but well well worth it! On top of it , service is impeccable! We had just placed or order with the server Park and 5 min later he stops by to apologize for the “long wait”. We did not mind at all since again it had only been a little over 5 min since ordering but Park coming to apologize meant a lot and even better, he took the time to get to know us, ask where we are from, and even gave us some recommendations for sites to see for the rest of our trip.

Came here for lunch because of the good reviews but I’m quite disappointed. Definitely had better steak before. Good service and beautiful story about the history of the meat. However the taste of the meat was the disappointment. The plate for steak was cold, my food got cold quickly and the meat was overly fatty and unbalanced in flavor. With the dipping sauce it tasted better. The burger was overcooked, you can’t taste the tender buttery meat of wagyu beef. Honestly the quality of the steak doesn’t match the price in my experience. Not sure if the steak was cooked properly or the meat was too fatty. I’ve had better wagyu steak.

Authentic Halal Wagyu Experience – Worth Every Yen! 📍 Wagyu (Halal) Steak, Hamburger & Ramen – Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo If you’re anywhere near Harajuku or Jingumae, do yourself a favor and visit this hidden gem. Tucked away just a minute’s walk from the main street, this small Japanese steakhouse offers one of the most memorable Wagyu meals we’ve ever had. We ordered the Wagyu Burger and the Wagyu Steak Rice Bowl, and both were absolutely outstanding. The burger was perfectly grilled, juicy, and rich with that signature Wagyu flavor – even the buns were branded with a Japanese-style Wagyu mark, a fun touch that made it feel special. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the presentation alone could win awards. The Wagyu steak bowl came piled high with thinly sliced, melt-in-your-mouth beef, topped with a bright orange egg yolk that added just the right level of richness when mixed in. Every bite was tender, savory, and perfectly balanced. The restaurant itself is cozy and intimate, with warm bamboo and wood décor giving it a calm, traditional feel. Despite being full, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to help explain the menu. Prices are on the higher end (around ¥10,000+ per person), but for genuine Halal-certified Wagyu beef in the heart of Tokyo, it’s worth every yen. We’ll definitely be back before our mission is done in Japan – an unforgettable meal and one of our favorite dining experiences so far! — Elder & Sister Singleton, Camp Zama, Japan

The restaurant is always bustling with people, making it a great choice for post-night out dining. While the vegetarian ramen is a rare find in the area, the generous portions and excellent taste make it worth visiting.
This is a great gluten free restaurant. They serve amazing fried chicken and also very good noodles. I have had dinner here twice. They have a second restaurant in Matsumoto, which is also great, but a bit out of the city centre.

Izakaya restaurant
Vegetarian restaurant
Nestled within the trendy Shibuya Parco shopping center, Izakaya Masaka offers a unique dining experience with its exclusively vegan menu. This izakaya-style restaurant is known for its mock karaage, a soy-based alternative to traditional chicken, available in various flavors such as grated radish and Sichuan style hot and spicy. The tapioca flour coating adds a delightful crunch to the tender 'chicken' inside.
Must try: their karaage's! The food in general was exceptionally good. Even hearing other customers saying things such as 'I didn't know vegetarian/vegan food can taste as good as this', and 'wow how did we find this'. That being said, it is a very popular spot and it fills up all the time even in random hours such as 2-4. Be ready to wait.
Miguel T — Google review
Masaka in Shibuya is an all-vegan Chinese restaurant that really impressed me. I went with a couple of friends, and we all enjoyed everything we ordered. The menu is packed with variety, and every dish felt intentional and satisfying. The sweet and sour shrimp was bold and saucy, with onions on top for extra crunch. The shrimp itself had a flavor and texture that reminded me of mushrooms, which worked surprisingly well with the sweet and tangy sauce. It was one of the standouts at the table, and I’d definitely order it again. The vegan karaage was another highlight. It had a texture that reminded me of octopus—chewy but not tough, with a good bite to it. The seasoning on the outside was flavorful without being greasy, making it a fun plate to share. The mapo tofu brought deep, rich flavors with soft, silky tofu cubes soaking up all that spicy, savory sauce. It had that comforting balance of heat and depth that makes mapo tofu such a classic, and Masaka delivered it really well in a fully vegan version. The dumplings were pan-fried just right—crispy on the bottom, soft on top, and filled with a savory vegan mix. They weren’t overly oily, and they carried a nice balance of flavor that paired perfectly with a splash of soy sauce. For sides, we had the garlic smashed cucumbers, which were light, crisp, and refreshing, and a plate of seasoned potatoes, which were simple but really addictive. Both added contrast to the richer mains and rounded out the meal. To drink, I had a cold Canada Dry ginger ale in the glass bottle, which was a small detail but hit perfectly alongside the bold flavors of the food. Overall, Masaka in Shibuya is worth checking out if you’re looking for vegan food in Tokyo that doesn’t feel like a compromise. The flavors stand strong on their own, and the variety makes it easy to share a table full of different dishes. From the mushroom-like shrimp to the chewy karaage, crispy dumplings, and spicy mapo tofu, everything worked. Going with friends made it even better, and I’d gladly come back the next time I’m in Shibuya.

Great vegan restaurant. there may be a long line, and they stop accepting new guests early - today they stopped accepting new guests at around 19:30 (they did accept everyone who was already waiting). The Karaage, deep fried Maitake mushrooms and spring roles were amazing. Also, their Vanilla ice cream was really great - I don't remember having vegan Vanilla ice cream as good.

#latepost We ordered Kaarage with Sichuan-Style Spicy Hot Sauce, Karaage with Tartar sauce, Chinese Bamboo Shoots, Gyoza Dumplings, Spicy Potato Wedges, Mapo Tofu, Deep fried Mushrooms. We are thoroughly impressed with the dishes we ordered. Each item was exceptionally flavorful with a well-balanced spice level. The vegan karaage, in particular, was remarkably tender and delicious, closely resembling traditional meat in texture and taste. It's been a year since that Japan trip. I always miss the food I had there. I recommend this place to every vegan/vegetarian friends. You will feel very happy.
Sri L — Google review
Delicious vegan food, I would say for our tastes a bit too much deep fried food. We went at 12.30pm and got a table no problem but already three of the dishes we wanted to order had sold out. It’s clearly very popular! It’s clearly no frills food but they do it really well and the place has a lot of charm and atmosphere. As it’s very small and popular either go early or be prepared for a wait, the mayo tofu was incredible, the salad was so nicely done, the mushroom sashimi was yummy, nice karage too. I would go back a second time to try more dishes.
Roger M — Google review
Food was amazing. So good, the karaage was impeccable, I went for the yuzu flavour which was interesting. The salad was great and so was the mapo tofu. Very quiet inside and uncomfortable chairs, a little small, but otherwise a nice experience!
Saskia S — Google review
The food was pretty good overall, but not amazing. Still, it’s always nice to eat somewhere that’s 100% vegan, and I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, the tofu dish I ordered had a bit of a weird aftertaste. maybe a spice I didn’t vibe with. Also, I found the prices quite high. The food was okay, just not great. And they font have boxes for take away so make sure to bring one with you if you want to take your leftovers with you. The service though… wow. There was basically no real service, and the overall vibe of the place wasn’t very pleasant mostly because the person working there wasn’t friendly, which have affects the whole atmosphere. All in all, I’d say it’s worth coming to try some other dishes, but I really hope they work on improving the service.
Rivka B — Google review
Place is small & popular so expect a long line for diner, but it’s worth the wait! The whole menu is vegan. Not very comfortable seating, and not very cozy lighting, but you could see that as part of the Izakaya vibe. Staff was fast but also busy. Would recommend 10/10.

Pretty good truffle soy sauce ramen. The noodles are eggy and bouncy. The pork is good quality. I wish the truffle had a stronger taste!

I am a fan of Nujabes ever since Samurai Champloo and was looking very forward to this experience as it seems tabelog highly regards this location. Although the staff were very nice and quick with service, the overall vibe and food were underwhelming. Yes there was Nujabes music playing and merch available, but it felt more like an average ramen shop otherwise. My biggest issue was with the house special truffle ramen that I ordered. The soft egg and noodles were cooked very well, but the broth was way too salty from the first sip. The chashu and chicken were decent but not flavored to my liking. For the price of this bowl at 2300 yen, I expected much better execution.

Top 3 best ramens I’ve had and I’ve had a lot. Got the truffle. Shoutout to Nujabes and his brother. What a legacy to carry on by combing their talents. <3
Safa — Google review
I understand that taste is subjective but we’ve been in Japan for the last 10 days and tried at least 15 different ramens ( one of my top 3 favorite foods ). This was below average. We took the special truffle ramen as it was recommended . We tasted the broth and I can assure you there was no truffle favor. A bit salty and dull… was not impressed at all. We blended in the truffle paste that was provided on top , and that changed the taste a bit , but not to convince us we are having a truffle ramen. The place requires some attention. We understand they might take a simplistic approach but I don’t think these photos are indicative of that. I sat on the left side after entering the restaurant and I was just next to the vending machine. The entire time I was there to eat , I had to accommodate people and backpacks that were invited to come and order. It was 4 of us and everyone shared the same opinion. Extremely disappointing. Definetly do not recommend.

The best ramen experience I've had during my entire trip to Japan. Regarding ramen options the choices are exceptional and wide from regular to black sesame to chicken truffle. The best ramen I've had as well, absolutely try the signature truffle. The atmosphere is also incredible the music is perfect and the entire staff/crew is so nice and hospitable. If you're in Shibuya it's a must try. Keep in mind hours are limited they close at 2:30 and it's very popular with locals. Enjoy!

Yellow Company Ebisu is a modern and spacious soup curry restaurant located near Ebisu. The menu offers options like beef stew curry, chicken, bacon and cabbage, and vegetable curry. Diners can choose between tomato or shrimp stock with an additional charge for the latter, as well as select their preferred spiciness level. Yebisu beer is available on tap to complement the meal. The restaurant also features a manga and magazine library, creating a cool ambiance for guests to enjoy their meal.
The soup Curry was really tasty, and even if you order one with meat, it comes with lots of vegetables. Soup Curry originated from Hokkaido, and it definitely warms you up on a cold night.

Cosy little restaurant. Manga is available to read for free by the entrance. There was no queue when we went at around 1 pm during a public holiday. Shop was still busy, though. When picking your curry, you basically pick the meat, any extras, rice portion size, and spicy level. We picked spicy level 3, and I couldn't taste any spiciness at all. My partner said he could feel a very slight tingle, but it was basically not spicy. we got the beef curry and the pork curry. Both were nice and came with a selection of vegetables. The curry was soup style, so it was nice to drink - tastes like a light version of a japanese curry. Overall, it was nice, but it wasn't that special, but it's still very nice and something to try if you fancy some light curry option.

The menu includes beef stew curry, chicken, bacon and cabbage or vegetable curry, among others. There's also Yebisu beer on tap. The place has a nice manga and magazine library as well and the ambience is cool. The soup curry itself is pretty standard, more "soupy" than others, but not bad.

One of my absolute favorite teishoku restaurants in Tokyo. The food is so good here!! BUT! The service here is so cold. I’ve gone here twice and one of the staff here never smiles, doesn’t attempt to be friendly, and seems annoyed with our limited Japanese. Otherwise, it would’ve been a perfect restaurant.

Affordable lovely Japanese food with big portions , good taste , and the rice was free okawari, maybe the staff could be more well behaved , it took time for them to notice us by the doorstep , I prefer friendlier environment. The opposition of American loud pop music in the restaurant and so traditionally Japanese food was bothering . Absolutely not a suitable music for the restaurants vibe !

I was craving chicken nanban and read some reviews that this place had a good one. They were not wrong. It was super tasty, from the fried chicken cooked perfectly to the tartar sauce that was the perfect sweetness. The sides were good too. This is a place I can repeat because they have a robust enough menu to keep me coming back. The prices are good and the service fast and friendly.

Very solid teishoku place. My JP friend also loves to come here for lunch as the rice is very good (by JP standards!) The portions are so big though so when I go with a friend we usually get an extra dish to share. You can upgrade to gokujumai (mixed grain) rice for 50 yen. Better for health but the white rice is fluffier. You can get okawari extra rice helpings for free.

Ramen restaurant
Kugatsudo is a modern and bright space that offers a variety of ramen and dumplings, as well as parfait and matcha sweets. The restaurant provides an airy cafe-style ambiance where patrons can relax while enjoying their meal. One unique feature is the option to have ramen as a set, which includes noodles with either fried rice or dessert. The use of natural flavors and ingredients in their ramen ensures a guilt-free dining experience without any MSG-induced headaches.
This place should be famous for how good it is, coming here in 2025 - I'd love to see where this is in 5 years. Every dish was amazing, and we ordered a lot. The dumplings so soft and perfectly cooked, we almost got a second round of both. The gyoza was excellent, so we got 2 of them. We had never had dipping noodles and while we decided to share - we could have easily all got our own dish. Also, good drink options with tea, beer, and ice cream coffee floats!

Nice place with medium pricing and tsukemen. We took the special ramen and the special tsukemen. Taste was good, a little bit on the lighter side but still tasty. Not the cheapest but also far from expensive and considering it’s in the middle of Shibuya i guess it’s acceptable. Place is clean and comfortable and staff is nice. Would go again. Our food was 2600 yen total, they accept credit cards and have an english menu and there was no wait time

I found this gem close to my hotel. There's a machine where you can select your food, and they even have an English menu. The food was amazing. I really enjoyed the flavor of the Ramen, the fried Gyoza was absolutely delightful, and the desserts were another level. The black sesame and yuzu ice cream were exceptionally tasty. Staff was very helpful and friendly and speak a bit of English

This place has amazing ramen, gyoza and soup dumplings. The service was amazing and welcoming, the food fantastic and the atmosphere quiet and calm, especially considering the busy area it's located in. Great pricing and must try the yuzo tea! Definitely recommend! ✨️🔝

Excellent stop for Ramen and Cold Sesame Noodles. There’s a Ticket Machine with English options, which accepts both Cards and Cash. They give you a choice between Light and Heavy Style Broths. The lunch set comes with an option for a side serve of rice, and boiled dumplings or Gyoza. The addition of Yuzu Peel on top of their signature ramen is a lovely touch! A hidden gem.

It was sooo goood!!! Idk why this place is not so famous lol the owner(s) are so nice as well. Atmosphere is not like other ramen places but in a good way! Bathroom is clean too. English friendly, transportation card and credit card friendly!!!! 너무 맛있어요 친절하고 사장님 영어기능!!!

Nice and quite place. Price is good and food is very good too. Be careful to dont order too much tho, unless you are sharing. I ordered alone so it was a bit too much for me but quality is good and the people are very kind

A lovely ramen restaurant in Shibuya. We randomly chose a restaurant but were so surprised by it. Several choices and sets for selection. English menu was offered. Decorations were delicate. Food were nice. I think I may come again if I miss ramen.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Shibuya, Nagaoka Ginger Ramen Ginger no Yu is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts. Located along the bustling Meiji-dori street, this cozy eatery offers an inviting late-night vibe that perfectly complements its delicious offerings. Known for its standout shouga (ginger) flavor, patrons rave about the delightful miso ramen featuring tender pork and perfectly bouncy noodles.
Such a gingerly nice!
Sjonnie C — Google review
A decent bowl of miso ramen. Nothing bad about it. Nothing brilliant about it. Better than the big chains. If it was in a smaller town, or it was priced around the 750-850 yen mark, I’d definitely repeat, but with so many options in Shibuya I’m not sure I will, unless, like today, I don’t feel like going to the other side of the station or don’t feel like drawing cash. On that note, bonus point for having cashless payment options. But yeah. It’s better than lining up for Ichiran so if you are near and want a decent enough bowl. Give it a go.

Ramen restaurant
Ramen Kokuu is a cozy ramen eatery tucked away behind the Cerulean Tower in Japan. The restaurant is popular among ramen enthusiasts for its simple, light, and refreshing ramen dishes that feature a perfect balance of clear soup, thin noodles, and flavorful toppings. The menu includes savory dumplings added to the bowls, and the broth is highly praised for its taste. Despite the limited seating and hours, the service is fast and friendly.
Perfect neighborhood-feeling ramen shop away from the touristy spots but close enough to walk from Shibuya Station. If you’re wondering why there’s not a lot of photos, there’s a sign inside asking you to not take photos of patrons or the chefs. It’s quiet, cozy, and chill. Nothing is over the top and was perfect for shoyu(miso) ramen lovers. It’s just the way we like it and made for a perfect date night for the wife and I when we got away from our group.
Chris M — Google review
The soup was delicious but it reminded me a lot of hong kong noodle soup and I’m not much of a fan of chinese noodles that are being sold as ramen. 🍜 Might suit others’ tastes though!

Very quaint. Very good. Known for Shoyu. Only open for a few hours of the day so be prepared to be there on time or early. I went mid week and at 6pm and there one other person only 👌 It's also worth going for a stroll through all the side streets in this part of town. It's gorgeous at sunset. But hilly 😮‍💨 please enjoy! A very solid ramen, specializing in wantanmen. The dumplings are really good, and the pork is worth getting extra. Small space with limited seating and limited hours, so make sure to plan accordingly. Service was fast and friendly.

Savory dumplings in a rich soy sause based broth. Very well balanced, great noodle texture, and quaint environment. One of the best soy sauce broths I've have yet! Few seats available- go during off peak hours.

Ramen restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Shibuya, Kichitora stands out as a must-visit destination for ramen enthusiasts, especially during the lively Halloween season when the streets are filled with costumed revelers. This popular eatery specializes in tsukemen, or dipping noodles, where you can savor thick noodles served separately from a rich broth. The concept was pioneered by Tokyo chef Kazuo Yamagashi back in the 1960s and has since inspired numerous restaurants across Asia.
If you have never tried Tsukemen, this is the place to try it at. The price is great as it is under ¥1000 and also you can order different sizes for your noodles. Staff are friendly and welcoming. A must visit place. "BELIEVE IT"
Tamiana R — Google review
The tsukemen is really good! The soup base is thick and tasty but not way too fatty. It is a chicken soup base which is very unique and special. I have never had it before in Tokyo. The noodle portion is very generous as well. It was thick and chewy. My friend ordered the one with a sardine soup base but it wasn’t as good. I would come back here again for the chicken soup base tsukemen!
Majesta — Google review
Awesome chicken broth that is not too salty but super rich in flavour. The noodle servings can go up to 750Gram, so all those who need to eat a lot? REJOICE So its a ticket machine system but you will need to queue outside to wait. It may look abit messy at first when you are outside queuing, but dont worry as the kind waitress will make sure to make a mental note of who came first. This is really one of the best tsukemen place I have tried and will be more than willing to go back everyday if i stay near it. A must try.
Ng W — Google review
Standard ramen place taste wise, nothing to write home about. Broth is chicken based, which is rare. But you still get pork inside of it (at least in their staple dish), so be aware of that if you don't eat pork. There is a vegetarian option too. You can choose noodle portion size, 250gr 350gr 500gr 750gr and 1kg, all without additional charge. Also, you can ask for some minced pork sauce for noodles, for free. So good strategy if you are hungry is to take 500gr option, finish the broth and half of noodles, and then ask for the pork sauce for the rest of the noodles.
Marko S — Google review
Pretty low key but amazing ramen. They specialise in chicken based broths which i questioned at first but it'd was super tasty. It small with only a few seats and uses the token vending machine for ordering. This is great when you can speak Japanese. The black decor makes it look a bit ghetto but don't be fooled, staff are super nice. When you order you can also order additional noodles as sizing. The largest it goes to is about a 1kg bowl of ramen. Which is insane. Tasty noodles right in the middle of a shopping district. Great service and interesting ramen flavours! Check out tokyu hands while you are there
James C — Google review
Tourist trap, beware! Overpriced, way too sweet, starchy (!), undercooked. This place is run by a bunch of Indians who don’t only not seem to have any clue about what they’re doing but also no pride and a bad attitude. Staff barely speaks Japanese. This place used to be good but is now just a cash grab for the new owners. Can’t recommend at all. Most tourists used to the abysmal ramen quality outside of Japan will likely be happy, so I guess this place has found its target group.
Vincent F — Google review
I had my last meal in Tokyo here and couldn't praise it more! I'm usually a vegetarian but made an exception for the soupless ramen. It came with meat which I took off the top but the flavor of the egg with the noodle, chilli oil and vinegar and add ons mixed together brilliantly. A must try. You can choose different weights of noodles depending on how much you want regardless of price also. And it's a great vending machine system! 850 yen for a decent size :) even playing very funky music.

Teishoku Sato offers a traditional Japanese dining experience with its set course meals, also known as higawari or daily specials. These meals are typically served during lunchtime and consist of a main dish along with side dishes like soup, rice, and pickles. While some restaurants may offer Western-style lunch sets, Teishoku Sato focuses on providing healthy and authentic washoku cuisine in a relaxed setting.

"Home style" Japanese cooking. A selection of appetizers first (obanzai) then choose some mains from the board. Includes rice and special miso soup. (Translated by Google) The appetizer small plate was recommended by the restaurant and was delicious. Other dishes are not good enough. The grilled salmon has a salty taste, but lacks flavor. Miso soup didn't have much flavor. Personally, I don't think there will be a second time. The plate of small bowl dish as appetizers are the recommendation of the restaurant, and those were tasty. But other foods were not so good. The baked salmon just salty but not tasty. And the miso soup nearly no taste. I think I won’t visit here again. (Translated by Google) Located in Shinsen, a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya, the renowned teishoku restaurant Sato is quietly located, a place known only to those in the know. While the exterior is small, a warm and inviting space unfolds once you step inside. It has the bright and clean feel of a Western-style restaurant, yet the relaxed atmosphere of a bar with counter seating is appealing. As soon as you sit down, a cup of fragrant soba tea is brought out, building anticipation for the meal. On this day, I had the main course of the fried chicken set meal. The fried chicken had a crispy, fragrant batter and was surprisingly juicy inside. The accompanying deep-fried eggplant and lemon added a refreshing touch to the dish. The meal was topped with several large pieces of fried chicken, making it a very filling meal. But the star of this set meal is the seven side dishes. Each small bowl is filled with carefully prepared dishes, including simmered dishes, salads, and pickles. It's rare to find a set meal with so many small side dishes, and the ability to carefully savor each dish is a delight. Each dish is delicately seasoned, bringing out the natural flavor of the ingredients with a refined finish. Every bite offers something new, especially the creamy tofu and the tsukudani, whose sweet and salty flavor complements the rice perfectly. The rice is perfectly cooked, and the miso soup is rich and flavorful. While each dish is the main attraction, they complement each other's flavors, ensuring you'll enjoy every last bite without getting bored. Teishoku Sato is a restaurant that makes you feel at home. With delicious, carefully prepared food and a cozy atmosphere, I enjoyed a wonderful lunch that satisfied both my heart and my stomach. The menu changes daily, so I'm looking forward to my next visit. The store is located on the first floor of a semi-basement building, so it may be difficult to find at first. For lunch, you can choose from several types of fish-based lunches. Recently, they have started offering non-fish menu items such as fried chicken, and it seems that they are catering to a wider range of customers than before. The set menu comes with a ``banzai set'' (?), making it a good value. The side dishes come out beautifully arranged. Regardless of whether everything is delicious or not, it's a feast for the eyes. The main dish, cod marinated in soy sauce, was delicious. Additionally, this time I had black sea bream pickled in lees, which was also very delicious. When it was grilled and served, he said, if I remember correctly, that it was a black sea bream from Hiratsuka, but I wanted to ask him if he had caught it himself, but I couldn't. SINKIES(シンキーズ) 渋谷 is a newly opened restaurant offering exquisite Singaporean cuisine. The interior is beautifully designed with green and white colors, creating an exotic atmosphere. The menu features dishes like Laksa, a popular noodle dish served with coconut milk. Customers can enjoy the spiciness and sourness of the tamarind in this flavorful dish.
Had the Nasi Lemak, this feels like the Singaporean Chinese style Nasi Lemak back home in Singapore. It reminded me of the kind of Nasi Lemak I had during my childhood! The lunch price was JPY 1,400 inclusive of a side salad. The Nasi Lemak portion was generous. The Teh (Tea with milk) is exactly how I had it at kopitiam (coffee shop) in Singapore. Thanks for bringing Singapore cuisine to Tokyo! Grateful to have a place to go when I miss Singapore food.

The Nasi Lemak, a fried chicken dish, was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It has a great crust and the chicken was moist. It was served with a sunny side egg on top of a bed of coconut rice accompanied with some dried anchovies, peanuts, cucumbers, and tomato. It comes with a side salad and the whole dish was outstanding! The mango pudding was delicious too. A great way to finish. The service was prompt and polite.

So far the most authentic Singaporean food in Tokyo. I ordered the Laksa it was a solid 10/10, perfect broth, noodles cooked perfectly, really good selection of topping. My friends went for the Nasi Lemak and Bak Kut Teh which also tasted good. The staff was really friendly, and attentive. Please keep in mind that dinner has a 1 drink policy, I'm not sure if lunch also have that policy. But overall very recommended if you visit Shibuya and craves some Singaporean.
Damar R — Google review
My friend came across this restaurant a few weeks back and told me about it so we decided to try it. Their specialty is laksa so we both got a bowl each. The laksa was very flavorful, tasted authentic and the portion was pretty big compared to the Japanese standard. They also serve pandan chiffon cake and milo dinosaur which most Singaporean and Malaysian restaurants in Tokyo don’t have on the menu. The customer service was excellent too! I will definitely go back to try the other dishes on the menu.

approved as a singaporean! while prices may be on the high side, it is definitely a worthwhile try for people who are trying a new cuisine, or just the average singaporean finding nostalgic foods in japan. i had the nasi lemak and kangkong, and felt that the food was well seasoned and mostly flavourful, although i do think that the kangkong could have been spicier. had a small chat with the owner too, and he was really friendly! would definitely visit again if given the chance to.

We had the laksa and nasi lemak which were both DELICIOUS. The staff were incredibly friendly and the chef spoke English quite well. The atmosphere was chic and clean and it was a very pleasant dining experience. The portions were a good size and affordable. The food was so good that we had the mango pudding for dessert which was also delicious (we don’t usually order dessert).

Went here for dinner and I was not disappointed! The Bak Kut Teh and Nasi Lemak were absolutely delicious, and their Satay alone is enough reason to come back. I honestly want to try everything on their menu. The owner and manager were so warm and friendly, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back — thank you for the lovely meal!

Just had dinner here during my last night in Tokyo. I ordered the laksa and a kopi. The laksa actually tasted pretty decent and surprisingly close to the original Singapore laksa, considering the lack of specific Singaporean ingredients in Japan. The kopi also tasted quite much the kind you can get at the hawker centre, although it is a bit lighter in intensity. I had a great conversation with the friendly restaurant owner. Also, props to the waiter who lent me his portable charger to save my dying phone. I really enjoyed the food and service in this hidden gem in Shibuya, and would recommend other Singaporean tourists to give this place a shot too!
