French restaurant
Restaurant
Can Can Brasserie is a Parisian-style bistro located in the charming Carytown district of Richmond. The classic bistro setting features dark woods, tiles, and mirrors, creating an elegant and sophisticated ambiance reminiscent of a corner in Paris. The restaurant offers a delectable French cuisine with fantastic entrees, including the renowned Onion Soup Gratinee topped with melty Gruyere cheese.
Came here for a Sunday brunch and got outdoor seating (waited an hour at bar but with a pitcher of mimosas and croissants). Outside seating was warm and breezy with perfect weather, near a stand of flowers, giving us a romantic french vibe!! The food was tasty. I had avocado toast with crab and egg whites on a slice of toast. The bread was a little difficult to cut but the flavors were delicious. Others had eggs in purgatory, eggs benedict, and quiche. Best dish in group was the quiche.

Can Can quickly became one of my new favorite spots in Richmond! The restaurant itself is absolutely adorable, charming, dreamy, and full of character. But what really made my experience unforgettable was our server, Okalani. She was such a gem! I have a gluten allergy, and she went above and beyond to make me feel safe and cared for. She knew all the details about cross-contamination and made sure I felt comfortable with my meal choice. She even recommended something I normally wouldn’t order because of the bread and tomatoes, and it ended up being one of the most delicious breakfasts I’ve ever had. I’m still thinking about it two days later! As someone considering a move to Richmond, I was a little worried about finding both foodie spots and gluten-free options. Can Can proved me completely wrong. Between the amazing service, delicious food, and beautiful atmosphere, this place checks every box. I can’t wait to come back!
Katrina F — Google review
This was a delightful brunch outing! The food was delicious, the restaurant was beautiful, and we got seated quickly despite the busyness of a Sunday morning. Our server Emily was superb - she was friendly and helpful, following up with us frequently and offering local travel advice. Definitely a good pick for a fancy lil brunch!
Lou H — Google review
Had Saturday brunch and it was wonderful! We got French toast, eggs Benedict and the eggs in purgatory, along with drinks. Pornstar martini was absolutely delicious. Everything was delicious and it was made way better with the excellent service we got from Alaina! Ask for her! Parking could be alittle troublesome but it's worth it. Also we made a reservation, but I have walked in before u just might have a wait, but its worth it.
Kimberly T — Google review
We visited on a weekday and it wasn’t busy. The restaurant has both indoor seating and a few tables outside. It was a beautiful day, so we opted to sit outdoors. Even though the inside was nearly empty, we waited about 10 minutes for an outdoor table. There’s also bar seating available. We started with the chickpea fries, which were absolutely delicious. I had the Croque Madame and the portion was huge! My friends ordered the escargot and the Provencale with frites, and the frites were delicious. If I lived nearby, I’d definitely come back often to try more dishes from the menu.

We absolutely love Can Can! A perfect Monday morning starts with their exceptional cappuccino, (mine was delicious and made with oatmilk), followed by their French onion soup and Steak Frites for my entree. Our Group tried the steak tar tar, Gruyère Mac n cheese and kale Cesar salad. Service was impeccable, atmosphere was very Moulin Rouge - can’t wait to go back!
Sarah M — Google review
None of this is the fault of the servers- what lovely people! But since this has changed hands, it has gone dramatically downhill. I am not a complainer, and have never felt the need to write a negative review of anything- but I also want to spare someone else the waste of $ and time this has become. We were there with four of us in the afternoon, among the orders were the Brioche French Toast with Berry and Powdered sugar (Pictured, it was actually thin sandwich bread that had no berries in sight and certainly no powdered sugar or anything else. I literally make better brioche french toast for my kid on a weekday before school.) We also had two orders of mac & cheese that were so alarmingly cold that we sent them back as we thought that they may have been frozen and reheated. Not even warm, like actually cold. The French onion soup was vaguely decent, but it was just so sad compared to what this restaurant used to be. The truffled Cesar has not a single taste of truffle anything. If you’re sitting here thinking that this review is dramatic or over-the-top, I assure you, it is not. The people in the tables around us were feeling the same way. We saw mat dishes sent back. Deep dissatisfaction all around. I feel so terrible for the wait staff because they are all such lovely people, and I worry that they may lose tips because of the absolutely horrendous expensive food.
Becca R — Google review
Really enjoyed my. It was super yummy. And the fish was good but not as good as the duck. Also. The carrot cake crumblee was so yummy. Also got a bread basket and they brought us more bread too which was nice. They paired some reisling with our meal and we decided to get it bc it was so yummy.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Richmond, Penny Lane Pub is a beloved local gem that brings a taste of Liverpool to Virginia. With its charming dark-wood decor adorned with Beatles memorabilia, this pub exudes warmth and character. It's not just a place to grab a bite; it's where locals gather, including reporters from nearby media outlets, creating an inviting atmosphere for all.
It's truly a gem 💎 of a place! A real UK pub in the capital district. Fantastic "ethnic" atmosphere, plenty of seating, 2 levels...even a snooker table and dart board! Great selection of draught 🍺 beer, and absolutely delicious pub fare! We even shared an incredible bread pudding to top it all off! Excellent, prompt service! Well, it's worth a visit (and many more)!

We came here for the first time last night for my wife's birthday. She has been wanting to try it so our party of four came to eat. We all had a good time. We aren't drinkers but enjoyed the food. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and cooked to order. Our server recognized my iced tea was weak and mostly water. She made it right by bringing me a different one and then we weren't charged for it! Overall, we had a great time here with our family celebration. Thanks!

A proper football club right here in Richmond! Great selection of European beers and all the soccer you could want to watch! We came in for the first premier league game of the season and were welcomed by so many friendly people! We didn’t try any food this time as we had just eaten not long ago but will definitely try some menu items next time!
Katya R — Google review
Food ok. Basic bar fair. Atmosphere decent. Nothing you won't see anywhere else. Service? Absolutely shit. Waitress would literally just throwing things on the table as she was walking by. No hello. No how are yall. Nothing. Like literally dropped a plate on her way through without a word. What do you want to drink? Ok. What do you want to eat. Here. At least put some effort in your job. I get it, its late and a bunch of drunks showing up, but that should be an easy time to get extra tips. Drunk people always spend more. But you stood there as I wrote out the tip on the receipt? Thats the most you even tried to pay attention to us. Not coming back.

Wow, what a great English Pub! Awesome staff, great beer Choices, and the food was terrific 😀

Stopped in for lunch when visiting for a wedding and wow did we love it! The ambiance is a classic pub feel and the decor is fun to look over during your meal. I had the fish and chips which was perfectly cooked and yummy, my partner had the Cottage Pie which was also delicious and the ideal comfort food. The staff was friendly and attentive! We sat in the bar area at a high top. They were setting up for a soccer watch party upstairs it seemed and the place was full of folks waiting to go up. Super fun environment!
Erica O — Google review
They make a great fish and chips here! It was definitely better than the last fish and chips I had in London. The fish was fresh and wasn’t greasy at all. I was in a hurry, and the servers got me my food quickly, even though the place was packed for a soccer game.

O'Toole's Restaurant & Pub is a long-standing Irish establishment located in Westover Hills, Richmond. It has a family-friendly atmosphere where parents can enjoy a pint while the kids are entertained with coloring books and crayons. The pub has been serving the community since 1966 and underwent expansion in the last decade, doubling its dining room and bar space. The menu offers classic bar food such as onion rings, burgers, and shepherd's pie.
Classic Irish pub! I had the fish and chips, and my wife had the Shepard's pie, both were outstanding. We shared the fried pickle chips and those were also delicious. Service was prompt and our server was friendly and helpful! We'll be back soon!

This was an amazing Irish pub in Richmond. I started going there when i was a kid and their club sandwich is to die for! I had the best memories with my gradaddy there. They give a memorable experience as well as lots to look at with their perfectly decorated restaurant. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES!!!
Abigail J — Google review
We are so lucky to have O’Toole’s as our neighborhood bar! #IYKYK…if not, stay on your side of the river, we don’t want you over here. ;) Kidding, but in all seriousness - best food, cozy, comforting & chill atmosphere, great bartenders, affordable prices. HIGHLY underrated for food quality. Have not had a single thing off the menu I didn’t like! I crave their chicken salad sandwich on the regular. Would also recommend the wings, black and bleu steak salad, pizza, potato skins, crab dip, and shoestring fries. We’ve made multiple new friends here. Thank you O’Toole’s for existing.
Sarah T — Google review
First and last. Bartender seemed disinterested unless you were a regular. Guinness was good as usual. Ordered fish and chips and my bad for not listening to bartender about chips. I got homemade potato chips and not American french fries. Fish was overcooked. Coleslaw was mediocre at best. I do wonder what the health dept would think of a bartender taking a bottle of wine either off the shelf or out of the refrigerator and putting it into the ice bin in front of the customer drinking that wine to keep it cool. The same ice being used in people's drinks.
Robert G — Google review
We came on the mission of onion rings. I will say the onion rings were great, but they did lack a little salt or seasoning in the breading. They were pretty plain, but they were super crunchy and just what I was looking for. The Cajun ranch that was served on the side was salty enough, and it balanced out. The Reuben sandwich was grilled so well. The fried apples could have used more cinnamon and salt but I ate them with no issue. Our server was so nice and helpful. And all around very pleasant experience. However, I will say that the hostess should had set us at a bigger booth, because we are bigger people. I found the couples booth to be uncomfortable with no elbow room. That is the only complaint I really have. Everything was great.
Virginia M — Google review
We had a group of 6 who came to eat a later dinner on a Sunday evening. We had been to O'Toole's once before and we decided to bring our out of town friends to have dinner when we missed the dinner window at The Veil just down the street. Unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing experience and I doubt I will ever return. The service was horrendous- our waitress, who I won't mention by name, was incredibly rude and it seemed like we were putting her out each time we asked for something. The food was super overcooked and took FOREVER to come out. A cheeseburger, ordered medium rare, was more like medium well. Two grilled chicken plates were inedible because the chicken was more like a hockey puck. The waitress, who we didn't blame for the food issues, was less than willing to try to make things right. She was rude, inattentive and could have cared less about our dinners. I am a server myself, and usually have a lot of grace for fellow servers, but this woman should not be in the service industry. I am embarrassed for the restaurant to have such a server working for them, as it reflects negatively on the establishment. We won't be returning to O'Toole's anytime in the near future.
Amy Z — Google review
I went there for the first time and Mel and Matt were the best bartenders! I sat at a table and Joe was the best server! I can't say enough about this place! Love the stuffed flounder and the old school pub atmosphere.

Poe's Pub is a cozy spot in a charming white cottage adorned with photographs, where visitors can enjoy live blues and Americana music while indulging in Southern cuisine. The pub has been a staple in Church Hill for nearly 30 years, offering an inviting atmosphere with a bustling wood bar and diverse clientele. Owned by Michael Britt since 1994, this Irish tavern serves up generous pours, delectable dishes like the famous meatloaf, and hosts lively music events.
Stopped in for lunch and everything was fantastic! They make the best Reuben I've ever had! Today we had the Oyster Poe-boy and the French dip, both were delicious as well. I love their remoulade for the Poe-boy, it's very dilly and obviously made in house. The staff is awesome and super friendly, makes you feel right at home.

The atmosphere and motif is the definition of Irish and RVA authenticity. Our amazing and wonderful bartenders, Katie and Nikita, took care of everything we could ask. Even made us a custom drink, the Pink Pussy 💗

Happenstanced upon Poe's Pub this weekend and were very pleasantly surprised! The server, Kitty, was very friendly and prompt with service. She showed us around the restaurant per our request and gave us great advice about the menu. We felt very welcome there! The reuben was as good as she promised with quality meat and the meatloaf was also pretty special. The zucchini side with the meatloaf complimented well. Even the beer tasted better due to the atmosphere. There was a festival up the hill (Libby Hill) and they let us keep our car parked there for a short time to check it out. We will be back with our son when he visits next week!

The Jasper is a trendy lounge with a vintage atmosphere that has become a staple in the RVA cocktail scene since its establishment by local industry veterans. The bar offers an extensive and diverse cocktail menu, featuring everything from tiki-inspired concoctions to modern mezcal creations, as well as drinks centered around sherry, fortified wines, and non-alcoholic spirits.
We didn’t get food, only had cocktails. That said, we absolutely loved it here! The decor is beautiful. Lots of seating. Gorgeous hardwood bar. And the drinks…!! 🤤🤤🤤 The cocktails were awesome. Very well made, thoughtful and creative. Very well balanced and well executed. There’s a range of different options, including introducing me to a booze I’ve never heard of before (sotol). If we lived closer we’d definitely be back! Oh… and the playlist was all 90s rap! What’s not to love?

The cocktails were really good and oddly way faster than expected. Complex cocktails on a busy Friday night in under 15 minutes for your first round!? Very impressed. The penicillin shot is a must. Incredible packaging. Market this more! Bring them around to tables. We had Caribbean Kween, Tartarian Fizz and The Beauregarde. So so good!!! We will be back anytime we are on Cary Street!

Are you bored? Find yourself wanting to socially drink but don't drink? Look no further! The Jasper is the place to go ! The industrial old time look is the best! Dope playlist & speakeasy vibes. It was a little tight but everyone was courteous. The service was on point, we didn't feel bombarded nor rushed. I personally do not drink, so I was amazed when I saw non-alcoholic options! YES! I went for the coffee bean drink then the pineapple spiced (Forgive me I don't remember the drink names) and the spiced peanuts. The bill wasn't outrageous, I definitely recommend you all go ! P.S. it is Carytown..so parking is trash

I went to Jasper for the first time it got very crowded very quickly. They have happy hour from 5 to 7 every night so we think that was worth it but we’re not sure a $14 drink would’ve been worth it. It’s at happy hour timing. it’s a cute place but was I blown away now The bartenders were knowledgeable, but they didn’t look like the most creative drinks I’ve ever seen are they worth 14 $15 not sure.

Reserved a table for a 30th birthday, very upscale and classy cocktail bar. Would like it if they had more food options. Espresso martini was super smooth and sweet.

The Jasper was recommended to My wife and I by our waitress at Conejo - we were just in town two nights. We both enjoyed our drinks and service at the Jasper. Great Bartenders, very friendly, great atmosphere , the location seems older than the "established" date, I would have thought the location was much older! Great time !!

Very yummy. We tried the shrimp tacos and the French dip. Both good. I also really liked the fries, and I am picky with my fries. It was also awesome that I got a $20 gift card for my birthday with their rewards program.

My food was good. I ordered buffalo wings and crab bisque soup. I did order a $12 bowl of crab bisque however and this was absolutely not crab lol I have no idea what it is, but some chicken soup. I was so excited for my crab bisque too.

Really good selection of beers, especially local beers throughout Virginia. Had the Hardwood Park Brewing The Great Return IPA, which was quite good. Bartender had great recommendations. The flat bread pizza was good. Would go again.

This is a fantastic spot, especially if you're hunting for a bite or a drink after 10 PM on a Wednesday. It's the only game in town around here, and—surprisingly—the food hits the mark.

Great Burger 💛💛💛💛💛 Apple pie 💛💛💛💛💛 I had a great time at *Capital Ale*! I tried the *blue and black steak salad*, and it was delicious—the steak was perfectly cooked, and the flavors of the blue cheese were a fantastic combination. The *chicken tenders* were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, definitely one of the best I’ve had. For dessert, I couldn’t resist trying the *apple pie*, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—sweet and comforting. The service was friendly and attentive, though I would recommend coming without a rush. Overall, a great spot to enjoy hearty food in a relaxed setting. I’ll definitely be back!

Pairing the meal with a nice glass of wine made the experience even better. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the outdoor seating is a great option for enjoying a relaxed meal with friends. The service was friendly and attentive, making the entire visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for great food, drinks, and a welcoming vibe, this is definitely the place to be. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overall experience was great. We went on Sunday afternoon for lunch / happy hour. They do 5 dollar sangria and mimosas pitchers. We chose the red sangria and it was delicious. They have a lot of seating, and the place is large. We sat on the upper outside deck and chose some appetizers and a dish. The Irish egg rolls were amazing. As well as the homemade pita chips were tasty. We chose to share the brisket Mac and cheese. For us, it was okay. It's definitely not a dish I would choose again. I think it just had too many flavors going on for us. It has a couple of different types of cheese with brown gravy and cheese it crackers thrown in. The brisket was tender and soft though which I thought was tasty. The server was wonderful, caring, and very friendly. I want to say her name was Ashley, but I could be wrong. However, the total experience was pleasant.

From the moment you step onto the cobblestone street, you know you're entering somewhere different. Siné Irish Pub doesn’t just serve good food — it offers atmosphere, history, and a warm presence that wraps around you. I went alone, midday, and still felt as if the place was meant just for me: dark wood, soft lighting, a wide bar, and small, private tables. And if the weather allows, the terrace is inviting too. There’s something about the space that makes time slow down. It doesn’t rush you — it invites you to stay. I started with the Reuben Rolls — crispy and flavorful, paired perfectly with a cold Weihenstephaner. Then came the Breakfast Burger, topped with bacon and a fried egg cooked on both sides, served with thick-cut fries. Everything was made with care and depth of flavor. Then, a classic Guinness… and the perfect ending: a warm brownie with ice cream, and an Irish coffee. Now that coffee… it wasn’t just any coffee. Irish coffee is prepared in a way that draws out the subtle nutty essence of the bean — that’s its well-kept secret. It’s as if the coffee itself whispered: “sip me slowly… let me wrap around you.” An unexpected gem. The service was flawless. Whether for a date, with friends, or simply some solo reflection time, this is the kind of place you keep… and return to.

One of if not THE best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life. Friendly staff and comfortable seating! My boyfriend and I went around lunchtime and were satisfied with the prompt service! Will be visiting again!

Poor vibe...Ordered drinks at 10:05pm. Bartender said no food served (Virginia ABC violation; reported). Ignored us for entire time -waited 15 minutes to close tab. Bathrooms were filthy. Entire full bar and each patron received lame, snippy, attitude service. Her literal greeting 'whats up' or 'what do you want'?' WILL NOT be back or recommend.

Stopped by here as a bonus to our exploration of the area. Our server was fantastic! Asked for a recommendation and she steered me towards the Chesapeake chicken. It did not disappoint. My husband had the mushroom burger which is why he picked this place. He also left satisfied. The building is quite nostalgic. The basement was a treat for me as it looked like it had history. The place was pretty quiet for a Sunday night. I would definitely recommend this place if you're ever in the area.

We came here with family to celebrate my mom's birthday . We live in another state and it was so difficult to pick a place to have a family dinner (we checked a lot of places but we stopped at this pub). I am very happy we did. Our waitress was very nice . The food was just great!!! My mom and I both ordered chicken Chesapeake and it was absolutely amazing !! My dad had a lamb pie , something new and different and the taste was great ! My brother had some burger and Mac and cheese and he said it was delicious !! We also had 2 deserts , fudge and snickers and they were so delicious. The snickers dessert was so big and the best I have ever had . I wish we had this pub at my city , I will miss their food!

Vietnamese restaurant
Mekong Restaurant is a Vietnamese eatery in Richmond known for its extensive craft beer selection and diverse food menu. Since opening in 1995, it has become a prominent figure in the city's craft beer scene. The owner, An Bui, combined traditional Vietnamese cuisine with a strong emphasis on American and European beers, attracting both food and beer enthusiasts. The restaurant offers authentic dishes like Pho and Banh Xeo while boasting over 50 craft beers from local and international breweries.
Was recommended by multiple coworkers for the Pho. Had a beer while I waited. Mug wasn't cold which i would have preferred. The spring rolls were good and so was the sauce. Not a huge parking lot but I didnt have a problem finding a spot. I ended up getting the seafood pho. Very flavorful. They were pretty busy but would be back for the food! Patrons sitting at the bar were local and friendly.

Mekong has a lot going for it! The ambiance is great, and since the place is so large, you can likely get a table even during peak hours. The beer bar with its decent selection definitely sets it apart from other Asian restaurants. We enjoyed the food—it was delicious, although it wasn't as spicy as we had asked for. The huge menu offers a lot of variety, but it can also be a little overwhelming. The portions seemed moderate for the price, and maybe even a bit small compared to similar places. Unfortunately, the service was a bit disappointing. We felt rushed to order, with our waiter checking on us three times even when it wasn't that busy. After the food had been served, no one came back at all to check whether everything was okay. Overall, it's obviously a popular spot with a nice atmosphere and good food. Despite the service issue (might not be the normal), I'd still say it's worth a visit.

They have beers, if you’re a beer lover, this is the place. Fried Calamari was good, crispy, well seasoned, not too salty. Quail was gamey which I am not a fan of. Gỏi ngó sen was a rip off, only a lil ngó sen, the rest were carrots, celeries and cucumbers, and of course the shrimps were farm raised. Surely made for Americans, not authentic. Service was above average , I would come back to try other dishes.

Well packed Vietnamese restaurant, the seating reminds one of an old school Cantonese restaurant. Wooden tables, high top tables and bar seating. It can be a tight fit between tables. Friendly wait staff. Food was good, but not deeply spiced/heat. More....aimed at a Caucasian audience. Still, my beef was nicely done/presented, good texture. The pickled carrot was quite good. Apparently a great selection of unusual beer can be had.
Sarah K — Google review
Overall 4.6/10 - A mixed experience with decent food but hindered by slow service and a less authentic atmosphere for a Vietnamese dining spot. Atmosphere 4.6/10: Styled more like a Chinese eatery rather than a Vietnamese restaurant, which may confuse some guests. Staff appeared friendly, adding a positive note to the ambiance. Service 3.8/10: While the menu was clearly detailed with helpful images, the absence of desired menu items and notably slow service detracted from the dining experience. Pho 6.7/10: The pho stood out as a highlight, featuring a flavorful broth and well-prepared meat, contributing positively to the meal. Dumplings 6.8/10: Another high point, the dumplings were perfectly crispy and delicious, accompanied by a tasty sauce. Value 5.1/10: Despite the good quality of the dishes, the overall dining experience was diminished by service issues, impacting the perceived value of the meal.

Didn't eat inside, it was packed. But my to go order was fast. Got home and broth was still hot and cold touches was separated and stayed chilled. I appreciate that in a meal.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in RVA. I’ve been coming here regularly for 12 years. The food is always consistently fantastic. I have yet to order something I did not like. I Love trying the different beers they have on tap. It can get quite busy even on weekdays so service can be slow at times but it is well worth the wait in my opinion. Restaurant can use some updating but I like that they have lots of seating and can accommodate large groups. We have Never had to wait to be seated. Lots of taps And a well stocked bar. If you have not been to this restaurant you need to try it at least once and you won’t regret it.

Alewife is a popular and highly regarded restaurant known for its sophisticated Mid-Atlantic seafood dishes and innovative cocktails. The eatery offers a diverse menu that includes Szechuan peppercorn-dusted oysters, scallops with carrot-miso butter, cornmeal biscuits, refried lentils, Virginia oysters, smoked trout, and Wagyu beef tartare. The restaurant also features an inventive cocktail list with unique offerings like The Sea of Cortez and Pink Tequila Tonic.
One of the best restaurants in Richmond. I could eat those poached rock shrimp, fried clams, and tilefish every day and be happy. Cocktails were interesting and well-balanced too. I was also able to get a reservation at fairly short notice, which is always a plus. I’m hungry again just thinking about it!

Overall had a decent experience. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious. Our waiter seemed disinterested in serving us once we started asking a few questions about the menu, almost like they were annoyed that we weren’t familiar with the options. My husband was brought the incorrect beer and his portion of soft shell crab only had one piece when we saw other plates containing two being brought to other diners. My arctic char was really good though, very well seasoned and tasty. Would definitely come back for the food but hoping for a slightly better experience.

Rustic and delicious dishes that excelled on basic points and sheer tastiness, and still managed to be surprising and mind-expanding in subtle but noticeable ways. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked, supple and pillowy on the inside, just a bit crispy and toasted on the outside. The combo of blue cheese and candied pecans was mind blowing a a sauce. Oysters were huge, fresh and clean tasting, adorned by understated but surprising flavors. Italian in spirit, but Virginia in its fine details. Truly excellent.

Great location, genuine crowd, fantastic food. Can't ask for more! I had their sweet pepper and ceviche special, as well as the skate wing. Both were phenomenal. My partner got the fish sandwich and said it was one of the top 5 sandwiches of their entire life. Our cocktails were delicious. We made a reservation a day before but called to see if it could be moved earlier. The hostess was incredibly friendly and gave us a couple of options. 10/10 will come back again!

Alewife is the perfect place for a slightly elevated evening out! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is laid-back but clean and slightly elevated. It’s a nice quiet spot for a really good meal. We got the clams as a starter then I got an oyster Poboy. Everything was absolutely amazing.

A friend of mine and I were looking for places to get oysters. I had heard of Alewife being touted as one of the better “foodie” restaurants in Richmond. And that is absolutely true. They are located in Church Hill, so parking can be a little dicey but it’s one of the best neighborhoods for an after-dinner walk. Food: 5/5 - absolutely excellent. We shared a dozen oysters, which came with a spicy yuzu sauce that was incredible. They rotate menu items and sauces. My friend ordered the scallops for dinner and I ordered the skate wing, which came over a Korean-inspired stew. We had their take on a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was also excellent. The flavors were like nothing I had had before. If I could rate higher than 5 I would. Service: 5/5 - Also excellent. I had never eaten skate before, and our server gave me instructions on how to properly eat it. Servers were kind and attentive. No notes! Atmosphere: 4/5. There’s nothing particular special about the decor. Chairs are metal, tables are wood. It’s not trying to be pretentious. I will certainly be back!

If you're on the hunt for a lively dive bar that perfectly blends Tex-Mex vibes with punk rock energy, look no further than Fuzzy Cactus. This vibrant spot is not just about drinks; it’s an experience! With its eclectic thrift-store decor and fun pool tables, you can enjoy unique cocktails like the Oaxacan Old Fashioned or the Spritzkrieg Bop, which features a special collaboration beer.
Great atmosphere and food! It took a hot minute for the food to come out but very worth it! Highly recommend this place, especially if you have specific dietary needs!

First time dining at fuzzy cactus and the reviews were correct, delicious food and all around awesome place. Definitely will be back, both of the servers were great!!! We had the wings for an appetizer, Ronald breakfast sandwich, chicken burrito, slow, gin, fizz, and Bloody Mary, would recommend it all! Wish I would’ve got the server name, they were delightful.

Fuzzy Cactus has the best wings in Richmond and I wish more people would talk about it. Love to eat them with any of their sides and drinks. Their specials are also so well thought out and tasty. This is all on top of the very good vibes. We love to come here any day of the week.

Omgoodness, I got the green chili burger and it was so good! Best burger I've had in a while. And, the fries came with a cheese sauce that was so delightful. Cute place. I ordered online and they had my order ready when I got there 20 mins later. And, the proces aren't bad for what you get.

servers were so friendly. The vibe inside is really cute, lots of cool decor. The food was good. The one thing i didn’t like was that they automatically added an 18% gratuity for our table of 3 without telling us or warning us anywhere on the menu. Not cool.

Love this place, and even more impressed now we've tried their curbside pickup. We ordered the half chicken and biscuits. The frozen biscuits are a stroke of genius! Pre heated the oven, drove to collect then stuck the biscuits in the oven and warmed the chicken and had it ready in 20mins... Add a little hot honey to the chicken, it's the bomb! Oh... And also got a six pack of cold Natty Boh 😊

I went to Fuzzy Cactus for the first time the other day after having it recommended over and over and I wasn't disappointed! I only got drinks, but they were really tasty and creative. The bar staff definitely knows what they're doing. They also had pinball and pool, which I thought was pretty rad. I'm planning on going back to play some pool and try the food some time.

Awesome ambient, love the outside being a white building and the red luminous light invites you in on an adventure. Once you step in the infrastructure of the building is beautiful. The whole place is such a vibe with great drinks and bartenders were so professional making the drinks look like art. The DJ is playing music live and everyone is having a great time. Will definitely be coming back. There’s also a patio you can sit outside.

Order the crab ragoons and one cocktail. Cocktail was great but the ragoons were half air and our server mark was great so i didnt Want to complain. $35 for one drink and an appetizer that was falsely advertised was a bit much. I’ll probably just stick to the drinks if I go back. The only savior was the good company i had. She ordered crab rice which was very salty but beautiful presentation nonetheless. The menu names were kinda confusing/overwhelming .

Uff…i have so much to say. I tried so hard to like this place. I really wanted Richmond to have a cool vinyl hi-fi bar but… I have been here four times now. The food menu is a joke. They don’t seem to have a theme; I would hate to work in that kitchen, no idea how they handle all those incredibly random ingredients. I’ve been going due to wanting to listen to good music (their DJ line up is decent, mostly local people who only spin vinyl). The sound levels have been WAY too loud every single time I’ve been there. You can’t have a conversation. I asked the DJ to turn it down last time we went bc my girlfriend was literally holding her ears closed. He said he wouldn’t be able to hear his set if he turned it down. Hmmm get a booth monitor guys! Unfortunately, whoever designed this space has no idea how to make a listening bar. It’s all glitz, no smarts. Every surface is slick and hard, nothing soft to catch the sound. It’s an extremely small space, why not lean into that and make it feel cozy!! The speakers they are using are ridiculously overkill. Should’ve gone with some small space-age round ones rather than those unnecessarily massive ugly ones. Also not sure what the story is with the girl who has the shaved head, she seems to be the manager; every time we’ve been there she gives off an incredibly pretentious vibe. She micromanages the bar tenders, and doesn’t seem to be good at realizing when she’s just being straight up snooty to guests. Hope she sees this and considers joining her cohort in wearing a uniform, because it would make her seem like more of a team member. The first time we went she was wearing something akin to a nightgown. Not one to police what people wear but I’ve worked in restaurants and bars and it made no sense that she looked shlumpy while everyone else looked slick in their mixologist-aprons. TLDR: great cocktails at big city prices. Mid-food that’s greasy and poorly curated. Pretentious manager. Bar tenders are very nice. Music curation pretty good but sound design of the space is terrible.

Second time visiting but it felt brand new - new menu and cocktails! Came here a year ago and loved the experience so we came back for our anniversary. Love the vibe inside and the food and drinks are stellar. Our appetizer came out tasting burnt and they promptly corrected the issue and brought a fresh batch which were absolutely to die for. Both our entrees were also delicious! As far as drinks, the staff are extremely knowledgeable about their cocktails and explain things very thoroughly. They helped us pick the perfect cocktails for the occasion and meal! Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing, every single thing was way beyond expectations. We stopped in for a quick drink before dinner reservations elsewhere and ended up with a few apps and multiple drinks. Our server was so helpful with recommendations... we almost stayed and had dinner there! We will frequently visit from now on. Thank you to the staff, chef, and bartenders for such a great experience! Most people only think to leave reviews when they have bad experiences, give this place a shot. I was highly impressed, and don't leave reviews often! Enjoy!

Unbelievable. 8 of us went there tonight. There was only one other party of two in there at 1am. We ordered drinks, we were told to be quiet. At first I thought it was a joke. 7 brown people and 1 white person. When the white person (my friend Scott) spoke loudly, it was not a problem. We were told a second time to be quiet when we were having a normal conversation. Really unusual. We were at sabai prior and went there after. We left fanboy puzzled. What bar does not let their patrons laugh and have a good time. I have been to most of the spots in Richmond and never have I had an issue with the volume of my laugh based on the color of my skin problem. Avoid this place.

Husband and I have been several times now, both for date nights and with friends. Food is great, and even their late night menu has good options. I typically get the double smash burger, which is unexpectedly bomb for a cocktail spot. (I do wish they would bring back the chicken tikka dip, it was amazing 😩) The staff are super friendly and accommodating every time we go, and the vibes are immaculate. If you wanna vibe to some good funk/disco/whatnot and sip on some drinks, then this is the spot.

The casual and welcoming atmosphere, along with its friendly staff and community feel, make it a great spot for a cozy and delicious meal.
I enjoyed lunch here with a group of four. I had the homemade crab cake sandwich with fries. The sandwich was delicious but the fries were the shoestring type and not my favorite. Others had the meatball sub and a pastrami sandwich which they loved. The peanut butter, key lime, and coconut pies were yummy. Service was fast and friendly.

Sure it's not your glamour white table cloth Michelin restaurant. But this is all about homey late night eat. Few eateries in Richmond operates this late. Supreme experience of a ultra local hangout & restraunt in a regentrified neighborhood. Could not come close to finishing a Eggplant Parm! It filled the plate to almost overflowing & a thick layer of Mozzarella from edge to edge. Better food than any chain & more for a better price & experience. Oh this is my half demolished parm which still filled the to go platter.

Just left Joe’s…I had a ‘decent’ lunch but it wasn’t like the other experiences I’ve had there. I’ll just say, people are different and so not every waitress will treat you the same. I will not say it was ‘obnoxious’ it just wasn’t ‘friendly’. The LEMONADE is off the chain. The bruschetta is good also. Their drinks are average…but depends on the bartender, from what we could tell … we had 2 different people helping us so not sure who made the first but it was weak, the second was tolerable. I had the quarter fried chicken ( I liked the idea of it being freshly fried) but the taste was almost bland. The friend chicken sandwich that my friend’s son had (per his remarks) was good. And my friend’s steak was overcooked. She asked medium well and it came well done. Anyway?’, it’s not my first time, not sure it’s my last but I will say I’ll stick to breakfast. Oh and it seems like the UPS guys like this place for ‘lunch’ too?!?

The establishment prides itself on using locally-sourced ingredients and sustainable practices to create dishes that celebrate Virginia's farms and waters. Chef Walter Bundy leads the kitchen in crafting sophisticated brunch options such as Crab Benedict and Duck Confit Hash, complemented by artisanal cocktails.
One of the best dining experiences we have had in Richmond! From the kind service, to the fun, chic atmosphere, and the decadent, mouth watering food…..we couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner! Do yourself a favor and order the fried green tomatoes, short ribs, and halibut. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. Every dish was exploding with flavor. Pretty sure you could order any of their dishes and be absolutely satisfied! Can’t wait to come back!

We always enjoy our meals at Shagbark. One of the best restaurants in Richmond. The service is great, and they offer an extended wine list along with a bar full of flavorful cocktails. The food is consistently delicious and very well prepared. This time we ordered the salmon, shrimp pasta, beet salad, and squash blossoms — everything was excellent. One suggestion: consider adding a beef dish. They have a great range of proteins, but a steak with the chef’s twist would be a fantastic addition. Parking is easy, and the location is convenient with quick access to several highways and Richmond hotspots. Highly recommend.

This is hands down my absolute favorite restaurant in RVA. My husband and I live basically across the street from this establishment, and go pretty frequently. We have never once had a bad meal here. The staff is absolutely wonderful and extremely attentive. We usually sit at the bar, but on occasion we have reserved a table. The dishes are inventive and fun, and the soups are my favorite. I would recommend coming here hands down!

First time visiting this place. Party of five to include my 3yr old and ALL of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a high hair and a small kids menu. Ambiance was nice throughout however we were sat right under an AC vent and we were chilly. Our server was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. We had the charcuterie board which was plentiful and the pork belly melted in your mouth! Second picture is the chicken dish which was so tender and flavorful. The risotto is some of the best I’ve had. Others in my party raved about the duck and flounder. Sticky toffee pudding with bourbon gelato was a perfect ending. We will definitely be back!

Our new favorite upscale restaurant in Richmond. Impeccable service, probably the best we've ever had. Every meal and drink was a winner. Stars of the show were our delicious bread, pork belly appetizer, and the sticky toffee pudding is something we'll be coming back for. Pork chop and strip loin (special) were great as well. Cannot stress how great the service was. I could keep going but just go and experience it yourself!

This place had been very hyped so my expectations were high. Sadly, I found the evening disappointing... Even though we had made reservations well in advance they seated us on a dark covered patio with heaters. When we asked to be seated inside the hostess rolled her eyes and motioned for us back to the entrance. We passed no fewer than four open tables and after a bit of a wait were told that we were very lucky and she had found a table for us. The attitude was very negative. We then waited quite a bit to order drinks followed by another wait for food ordering. The food was very nice but I didn't taste anything that really stood out from the ground... certainly not for the prices. All in all it was a nice meal and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere but I would not say that it is worthy of the praise that I have heard.

Perfect way to escape the city and ground yourself. Gorgeous place with deep history. Belle Isle was a great way to end my Richmond trip. Learned a little, ate a lot, and saw the cities true beauty at Belle Isle. 20/10 worth a visit

Nice hiking spot with great view of the Richmond skyline in the background. There are multiple hiking trails/routes to choose from. There is a parking lot across the river and you can cross to the Isle using the hanging pedestrian bridge under the Lee bridge. If you are lucky, you might see some deers running around! Definitely recommended if you are visiting Richmond!

Belle Isle is gorgeous. As a life long river rat, I will always love this place. It's a great location for a picnic, swimming, watching the kayakers, hiking, and there's even a rock wall. If you're a history buff, there's plenty of that as well.

I used to live near the Belle Isle and now that we moved away I've missed coming here every couple of days! so finally got to come back and explore it again! you can do so much here and definitely worth the visit if you're staying in Richmond

We visited Belle Isle in Richmond for an event and were blown away by how beautiful it is! The views of the river and city skyline are stunning, and the natural setting makes it a perfect spot for any gathering. It’s spacious, scenic, and has a great mix of nature and history. Definitely a hidden gem in the heart of the city!

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Wong Gonzalez is a unique bar and eatery located in Richmond's Arts District, offering a fusion of Mexican and Asian cuisine along with creative cocktails. The restaurant has gained popularity for its inventive tacos, such as the Beef Szechuan Taco, which combines braised Szechuan beef, chorizo, hoisin, pico, cabbage, crispy shallots, and cilantro. Describing itself as 'Mexinese,' Wong Gonzalez incorporates flavors from Malaysia and Mexico to provide a distinctive dining experience.
The food was pretty darn good! Not much business on a Friday afternoon. Our server was pretty attentive, and food came out fast. I liked my steak stir fry, but what really shone was the calamari. It was crispy and salty/savory with an amazing dipping sauce. For a fusion restaurant, they do a good mix of Chinese and Mexican! The restaurant’s interior was dimly lit but pretty swanky.
Christine W — Google review
We absolutely loved this place! The food was just as amazing as the service! We shared the calamari which was tender inside its tempura batter and accompanied by a delicious sauce with a very flavorful relish underneath. For our entrees, I chose the pimienta negra shrimp pot and my husband had a flight of tacos. My shrimp bowl was so full of delicately balanced flavor and spice. My husband said all four tacos were really good (the fish taco was his favorite) and he enjoyed the seasoned chips they came with. We almost never order dessert, but my husband ordered the crispy tequila cake. I had one bite and found it to be light with a nice crisp. My husband loved it!

Amazing food… I went to this eatery for lunch with my friend. We were searching for a restaurant with unique vegetarian options as my friend is vegetarian. Wong Gonzalez didn’t let us down. The ambience was excellent. We had Gyoza Vegetarian, Arriba Ramen Noodles and Vegan Mexican Sauté. We really liked their Latin-Asian fusion food. The serving size was adequate. The staff was attentive and helped us in selecting vegetarian food. I would definitely love to return and taste their non-vegetarian options.

Great food, friendly and helpful service, and the place is cute. The drinks were good but not great. Food is premade - it came out less than three minutes after we ordered - but was tasty nonetheless. The manager / bartender (not sure which he was) was incredibly helpful.

Food options were unique. The fusion concept was well carried out with flavors that were delicious. Service was great. The fried rice, the calamari, the plantains and the tacos were all great!

SO yummy!! Huge portions and very reasonably priced. I was eyeing every item brought past us. Cute decor and wonderful staff too!

We ended up swinging by midweek to spend an evening with an out of town friend. I got lucky this time, as this place has charm...We ended up randomly walking in as it was close to a lot of downtown businesses. Although art decor leaves you guessing, it's got a nice vibe that reminds me of other cities. Overall it's a Great fusion menu and classy ambience. Loved the fish and beef taco options, sandwiches were stellar, and plantains paired very well... Only one negative, Shrimp tacos were underwhelming with it's iceberg lettuce and average flavors, the other tacos were leagues better. I wanted to add that Kids menu was wonderful, and everyone was happy. Service was attentive. We will be back again.
J B — Google review
Great food and atmosphere, service good but a little slow. Excellent happy hour margaritas! Very nice Asian-Latin fusion theme. Fatty fajita bao were very good, a must-try appetizer. Chips trio and plantains about as good as you would expect, guac and queso very nice. Can't go wrong with the other entrees, drinks, salad, and desserts. Taco flight a very nice options - especially loved the Asian BBQ pork tacos.

The Continental Westhampton is a vibrant restaurant with a retro vibe that offers an upscale twist on traditional American dishes. From classic favorites like cheesesticks and corn dogs to more unique offerings such as giant savory stuffed pancakes, the menu is diverse and satisfying. The Ivy League salad, featuring baby spinach topped with dried cranberries, toasted pecans, apples, and gorgonzola with warm bacon vinaigrette, is a standout option.
Came here w my wife--so many people have told us to try it since we moved to Richmond from Austin half a year ago. We were not disappointed. Service was great, and the food too--nice Happy Hour specials. My wife and loved the cheese fries and the wings--tried both the Ancho chile and white Bbq sauces. The Titanic wedge salad was huge!...like a wedge on top of the other wedge all cut up...big! It came w a jalapeno cheese cornbread muffin too. Excellent. They allow dogs in the front part thats outside and covered, and more outside seating exists beyond that which you can bring your dogs to. 5 stars.

Service was fantastic, cute atmosphere. Dirty fries were awesome, my burger was just basic. Not super juicy but not roadkill dry either. Now the Banh Mi was super dry and did not enjoy it at all, I would not recommend it. Definitely needs some sauce or something to add some moisture. The Brussel sprouts however were top notch.

One of my favorite places in Richmond because it has the local vibe. A good, classic limeade is a must with any meal.

We enjoyed an early dinner here. There was so much on the menu it was hard to narrow down what to get. The food was really good, I highly recommend the garlic green beans as a side. Our server was friendly and the food came out quick. I would definitely come back.

Had an amazing lunch here yesterday. We ordered the ham and cheese sticks, the BLT, and a French dip. The ham and cheese sticks could had the potential to be comically terrible (so many places deep fry random things that shouldn’t be deep fried), but this was delicious and well done. The BLT tomatoes and lettuce seemed farm fresh. The bacon was crispy (as I prefer on a BLT) and the pickle was perfect. The French dip bread seemed homemade (or at least local). The meat could have been a bit more seasoned on its own, but with the jus, it held up so well. Highly recommend. Also, the vibe is so chill. May not be what all love, but I sure do. Service was laid back, but also attentive. Brought drink refills without asking. Will definitely be back.
Tom L — Google review
Delightful service made this lunch memorable. Had the Ivy League salad, but it was so good, I forgot pics. It's definitely big enough for two. Shout out for the non-meat protein option - the falafel was tasty and a nice addition to a salad already brimming with yummy add-ins. Tons of room inside and out. Would love to come back for Happy Hour soon!

Nestled in the charming Bellevue district of Richmond, Virginia, The Mill on MacArthur is a delightful family-friendly restaurant that specializes in Southern comfort food made from locally sourced ingredients. This cozy eatery prides itself on offering a menu filled with home-style dishes that highlight seasonal produce and ethically raised meats. Whether you're craving BBQ Tofu or classic Country Fried Chicken, there's something for everyone here.
This is a fabulous place to dine, especially for breakfast, lunch, and brunch. They have high tables, low tables, and window seatings. There is a cozy bar with sports on the TV. I had the breakfast burrito. Their home fries are great! The Mrs loves their chef salad. We also enjoyed the Bloody Marie's...Amazing! So, glad friends told us about this place. Be careful about parking. You may need to park a block away if you come at busy times.
Daniel M — Google review
First time at The Mill. Came here with my fiancé and my soon to be in-laws. It was a Sunday and they were serving brunch. Two of us wanted to try an appetizer and the other two in our party wanted to go ahead and order off the brunch menu. Our server said that it is usually not okay to order an appetizer with two brunch entrees but we could if we really wanted to. He didn’t explain the reasoning for this and acted very disgusted with our choice. Once the food was ready he brought it out and asked if we decided. We wanted a chance to try the appetizer first before deciding. We felt very rushed and didn’t know why the server was acting like this. I’ve worked in restaurants and was trying to keep on open mind but this server I felt was very rude and impatient. A few minutes later another sever came by noticing we were looking at the brunch menu. She explained that brunch ended at 2 and she would grab our server and let the kitchen know. If our original server had told us why he wanted us to hurry and that the kitchen only serves brunch til 2 we would have hurried and made a decision. We all loved the food and would highly recommend The Mill but can’t recommend our server Ryan. As a first time customer we were excited to try out a new place but would have loved better service. Looking around it looked like the other lady servers were more professional and much more friendly. Me and my fiancé hope to come back soon and have a better experience with service but can’t wait to try the amazing food.

Wonderful experience. Would recommend anyone to come in and enjoy this place, the music was just right, the place was chilly so it was nice getting out of the hot sun and sitting down and feeling comfortable. Mark was our server and he was very nice to us and the other guest around us, he kept our waters filled and our food came out fresh. Loved that there was vegan/veggie options and that the dressings were home made :) all the other servers around us were doing a good job too keeping the place clean and the other guests happy. Wonderful food at The Mill!!

This place is the definition of a hidden gem. They have a great gluten free menu. Their portions are very generous. The food tastes like there is a grandma in the back making everything. I got the short ribs and they just melt in your mouth. I’m so happy we stumbled onto this restaurant. Will definitely go back.

Lisa Adams reviewing. Love this place! Nice atmosphere and only a bit challenging to find parking. As a vegetarian, they offer tons of vegetarian and vegan options, which is always so appreciated. Today I had a sandwich and substituted BBQ tofu for the chicken. I also ordered some fries. My meal was hot when it arrived and delicious. My only complaint, or should I say something to be pointed out, is that I was charged $4 more for tofu but didn't seem to get a credit for the chicken I didn't get. So I paid $16 for a sandwich with fries that I feel like should have been $12 instead of $16. I will ask next time about pricing before ordering substitutions. That's the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. Still, it was a great meal and I will be back.

Everything was very tasty. The strip that the restaurant is a part of is so inviting. I was greeted upon entry and seated right away. The space isnt very large but it still accommodated the rush of the dinner crowd that came in. The menu is extensive and what I chose was very flavorful. I like that there were options for vegans/vegetarians as well as meat eaters. My waitress were eager to help and give her opinion when asked. The shrimp I added to my salad (not pictured) were cooked to perfection. And it is always a plus to eat food that is locally grown or raised. I shall return to try something different.

I was on a long road trip and was tired of my usual celiac-friendly, on-the-road food of hard boiled eggs and chips. Craving more sustenance, I found The Mill on MacArthur online when I was several hours north of Richmond. 30 minutes out, I called in an order for the hot sauce dry rub and honey habanero wings and a Greek salad. First of all, I can’t stop thinking about the dry rub wings and I had them a month ago, folks. They were OUTSTANDING. Second of all, I wasn’t expecting this, but the to-go packaging was perfect for my travels. I was able to eat some and pack up the rest in my cooler so I could eat the rest for dinner when I got to a hotel. Nothing was soggy or gross. The honey habanero wings and the Greek salad were excellent but I will dream about those dang hot sauce dry rub wings until I make it back to Richmond. Hopefully I can sit and enjoy the restaurant itself next time!
Joy P — Google review
Everything was really fresh. I had the grilled wings which were good. I had the fish tacos which were salmon. They were kind of bland but cooked perfectly. Overall a good experience and I will be back to try something else.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Richmond is a significant player in the city's craft beer scene. Since its establishment in 2011, it has been credited with kickstarting the modern brewery revival in Richmond. Despite other breweries gaining more hype, Hardywood remains one of the most recognizable brands on a national level and commands respect from other local breweries. The brewery operates out of a spacious 12,000-ft. warehouse where they serve their own beers and occasionally host food trucks.
We really enjoyed this place. The beer was good. The pimento pickle basket was great. Service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place.

Sort of a cool place, I guess? I'm an out-of-towner that was visiting for biz and I went in on a Sat night since I was hungry and found this place online. The place was packed with a band playing outside... Tons of families/kids. I was surprised that I couldn't get a seat at the bar, because there were no seats, or waiter/waitress service for that matter. Drinks were walk up only and dining was seat yourself, first come first serve. I asked to see a food menu and was surprised that really the only thing they had was pizza or a pimento cheese dip. I was told to scan to QR code when I was ready to order and then wait for a text, and then go to the kitchen to pick it up. I dunno, that seems like a ton of work since I was the one doing it all, and I went there to be waited on and relax. Maybe that's the way they do it South of the Mason-Dixon line, but it was def a turn-off, especially when it was still the same price as full-service. The pizza was mid, at best, but the beers were great. So at least they're doing that much right.

We recently hosted our **Build Your Own Spirit Doll Workshop** at Hardywood Richmond and it could not have been a better experience! From start to finish, the communication with Paige and Tyler was excellent—clear, timely, and so supportive both before and after the event. The bartenders were absolutely amazin as well—friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel at home while keeping the energy high. The space itself was the perfect blend of cozy and lively, giving our participants room to create, laugh, and connect. Our community loved it, and we left feeling grateful for the hospitality and professionalism of the whole Hardywood team. Highly recommend Hardywood Richmond not only for their great beer 🍻 but also as a welcoming venue for unique events like ours. Thank you again Paige, Tyler, and the bartending staff—you made it a magical day ✨

Cool place. Outdoor seating is awesome, especially when not busy! Love the fire places. Pizza is really good! Beer selection great. And always lots of fun music, trivia, and bingo activities going on all the time! BUT it seems to be a place people feel more comfortable bringing kids… and that is the only downside to this brewery. Not a great place to avoid screaming and running kids between legs and tables. We would come more if it was kept more of the adult space that it is supposed to be. Breweries aren’t for kids folks.
Santi V — Google review
This was a cool experience. My family sat outside, all 7 of us, and listened to live music that was fun and interactive. They have QR Codes at the tables where you can order food and drinks. You do have to go get them yourself inside, and the drink area and food area are separate word to the wise. We didn't get the text alerts that they were ready and had to guess so that process could use some improvement. The pizza was good and I got the pimento cheese tray to share and it was AMAZING. I was honestly not expecting it to be as good as it was. The pickles, red onion, olives, everything was awesome. The strawberry buzz cocktails were also very good. The seating areas could use some umbrellas or shade of some kind, when it got sunny it was a bit uncomfortable.
Erin G — Google review
We stopped in while on a trip between Delaware and North Carolina. We stopped in because I had heard the Gingerbread Stout was awesome. We were not disappointed. The brewery has great indoor and outdoor space. There are a couple of fire pits outside for could weather. There is a pizza place inside. The pizza is very good if a bit pricey. I had the bourbon barrel, and coffee variants of the GBS. Both were excellent! We will certainly return!

Melito's Restaurant is a local favorite known for its hot dogs and classic American dishes. The cozy, old-school atmosphere features dark wood booths and a welcoming bar area with TVs. The menu offers a variety of sandwiches and dinner entrees with an innovative twist, along with fresh salads, soups, and small but impressive wine selection. Guests can enjoy children's art projects on paper-covered tables while savoring side plates of pizza and pitchers of cold beer.
What a great place! We came for lunch, there was no wait and we were greeted and sat right away. The staff is very friendly and happy to suggest food to try. The interior is cozy with an old school feel. The food was very very good. I tried the regular hot dog and the junkyard dog - both were excellent. My wife had the "Rachel", which was also excellent. The kids menu is a bit pricey but the portions are pretty big so we didn't mind paying a bit more. All in all I highly recommend visiting Melito's for lunch or dinner. You'll be happy you did.

It’s a great local place. Lots of dinner specials. They are definitely a step up from bar food. They also have some very simple meals like two hot dogs. In good weather there’s an outside dining area. There’s also a back room for private dining of us small group.

A real down-home place. Went here for a work dinner with 10 or 12 people. They had us seated in the private back room which was nice as we could have the door closed to all the noise from the rest of the restaurant. Our server Mindy was incredibly attentive and still checked on us often, making sure everyone’s needs were met. Apps (black bean cakes, crab dip, pesto flatbread) were all yummy and I enjoyed my ribeye which was cooked perfectly (medium and crispy on the outside) with some well-seasoned sides. They were very respectful of our party and let us take our time with our meals.

I went to Melito's for lunch and ordered the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado sandwich. The food was delicious, the portions were massive enough that I only ate half and took the other half home for another meal. I was delighted at the variety of their menu and the warm, yet cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning!
Danice S — Google review
Food was good and service was okay. Portions are on the smaller side. They do upcharge you for extra items like cocktail sauce, dressing etc. So, beware as they don't tell you in advance. Also, if you are a party of six or more, they add the tip on without telling you. That goes for take-out as well. Salmon sandwich was tasty. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I'm in the area I would stop by.

Secco Wine Bar is a stylish and intimate spot located in Richmond's The Fan neighborhood. Since its opening in 2010, it has become a highlight of the city's wine scene, offering small-batch European wines and a sophisticated wine list. The casual-chic vibe and pleasant patio make it an ideal place to enjoy small-batch wines, craft beer, or classic cocktails while indulging in Mediterranean-inspired small plates like fried chickpeas and Gorgonzola-stuffed olives.
Outstanding service! We reserved a patio seat for a gorgeous, temperate evening one night ahead of time. I appreciated the text reminders and that I could interact with the restaurant through it/it wasn't automated. Had to update my reservation and it was easy to do. Food tasted great! I especially loved the tartare. Ordered from the Mezze menu- 5 small plates for $50. Wines were phenomenal too. My favorite was the Avinyo sparkling wines. All in all, it was a perfect place to spend a Friday evening. Thank you!

First time here and we had a great experience. Ryan was our server and made THE perfect wine recommendation for a red with a silky mouthfeel that was comparable to a requested Virginia wine that they unfortunately do not have. I do love that they allow you to bring your own wine for a reasonable corkage fee. We shared a few small plates and still left with food to take home. Pork belly and brussels sprouts were huge winners. I look forward to trying many of the other menu items and definitely working through the great wine list!

Definitely get the brussel sprouts, I also enjoyed everything else we ate like the pork belly. Secco has some good wines to choose from and they also do a corkage fee if you bring your own wine in to drink. We will be back!!

I LOVE this wine bar. Great selection of wines but also yummy little snacks for sharing on their menu. You must try the roasted chickpeas. Recently went for a cheese class and had the best time. They paired each cheese with a different wine and gave great explanations of both the wines and the cheeses. Small snacks and salad was also provided. I'll be back for more classes and just to grab a drink with friends.

I really enjoyed my service from Ryan; he was very attentive, polite and accommodating as I wanted for others to join me. I had the Kylo a non alcoholic beverage and it was quite refreshing and fruity but not overly sweet. I do wish the menu had a bit more basic or less high end eating options but that’s my only complaint.

We stopped in before a concert Saturday night. The service was fast, but it did take some time to get our drinks. We ordered a charcuterie plate, iberico ham, and mussels to start, all of which were delicious! My husband ordered the duck and enjoyed it quite a bit. I ordered th burger, but was disappointed to find it was extremely overseasoned and very salty. Overall the experience was nice, and we would come back again.

Good food, good service, generous portions and healthy options. Breakfast all day! Loved the salmon over mixed greens special. Only con -the calamari was overcooked and tasteless. Booth or bar seating, with a couple of tables outside. Great place to meet with friends for a casual meal and drinks.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in my life. Not only was the server rude and dismissive the entire time, but when I asked to speak to a manager there was “only a crew of 4” and no one that could assist me. They do not notify you of any additional charges until the end of the service and refuse to accommodate in any way. Do not eat here without thoroughly reading through the menu, with expecting good service, or if you were hoping for a nice environment. Will not be back, and I encourage everyone else to spend your money where the employees actually care about you.

Hello! We just visited yesterday! I ordered the Galley Paella and my partner ordered the Gut Burger. The burger was fantastic! The burger had a fried egg with bacon, and pimento cheese. My paella was lacking but wasn’t bad, it was a “Galley Paella” and instead of more seafood options they went with Ham instead. The muscles in the paella were a bit small but of course that is dependent on the current market. My main compliant is that the star of the Galley Paella the Ham was lost in the rest of it. Even when grabbing a good portion of Ham you barely tasted it. It should really stand out since most Paellas don’t normally use it. The cornbread was extremely dry, and I don’t think you could finish it without a drink. For almost double the price you’re better off sticking to the burgers and sandwiches. Speaking of drinks though, this place has an amazing array of draft beers, specifically we had the pumpkin ale which was awesome! The customer service was very friendly and prompt with orders and refills of drinks. Definitely recommend anyone to come in and you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise!

It was very busy, we had our dog, so my husband asked if we could sit on the very small patio. They told us yes, but it would be 10- 15 minutes. We sat and waited for another group to finish, it was 3 tables for 2 pushed together to accommodate 6. When they finished and left, we moved over to one of the tables for 2 and pushed it away from the other two tables. We had been told to sit anywhere and we waited patiently for this group to finish because we did not want to sit with the sun in our face. Another group of 8 that came in way after us comes out and confronts us saying we took their seat. I said “No sir”, you walked right passed us even commenting on my dog, knowing full well we were there first, and we NEEDED and outdoor table because of the dog. I guess they go in and tattle on us, a staff member comes out and says this was the table of 8 we told them they could have.. I told her “No, ma’am we have been waiting 10-15 minutes before the other party showed”, the seating was first come first serve” and I had cleared the table myself” . And it was not a table for 8, it was 3 tables of 2 pushed together to accommodate 6.8 people wouldn’t even fit at the tables. I politely tell them they are more than welcome to have the other 2 tables we are not using and that there was another 2 top table, but we wanted to be out of the sun. The next thing I know they pull the party of 8 inside and I guess are talking about us. So we just left. Very unrealistic for the party of 8 to walk in to any restaurant on Friday night at 7 and expect no wait, they knew full well we were there before them, and so did the waitress. They messed up and didn’t want to admit it. Maybe since the patio is so small limit it to smaller groups because it makes it very difficult for the waitresses and customers to get around. If you are going to be dog friendly, the patio should be for people with dogs. There was zero reason the other group HAD to be outside other than they didn’t want to wait. Very poor experience that was handled awfully, and everyone knew it. Bad move, I am a great tipper.

The Sidewalk Cafe is a charming eatery nestled in a lively neighborhood, offering a diverse menu featuring global cuisine such as nachos, Greek dishes, and sandwiches. The cozy restaurant exudes a dive bar ambiance with its wood-paneled walls and quirky decor. Visitors can savor delectable brunch specials like fluffy pancakes and golden scrambled eggs on weekends from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
My EVERY weekend stop for great food, great dranks and awesome staff that I consider family! Customer service above and beyond! Real comfort food that'll make you want to slap somebody! 😋 Portions worth the great prices, too! Them mimosas hit different, too! Love my Sidewalk!

We enjoyed Brunch at this lively and cozy cafe. There was a buzzing atmosphere as soon as we walked in, and the fact that it was packed combined with the appetizing smells made us want to wait. And we were glad we did as it was worth it and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly and attentive, and prices were good. The pitcher of mimosas was amazing to pair with delicious dishes. I had the Eastern omlette which had crab in it and my husband had Eggs Edwina with an English muffin, fontina cheese, bacon and tomato. Both were served with the most amazing fried potatoes seasoned to perfection. All the while funky music had us singing along. We look forward to trying more food at this fun joint.

Amazing food, was very impressed! Our waitress was so sweet she was the best. Went back in September on a Friday and had a great lunch. This is definitely a 10/10 and can’t believe it took me this long to find out about this incredible local restaurant. We can’t wait to come back

I’ve been here a few times and the service has consistently been excellent! So far we’ve tried a few variations of the nachos. Between the Greek and supreme nachos, I’d lean towards the supreme. It looks like they have a great brunch meal, so I will absolutely return to try that. This is a great neighborhood spot to try, with an excellent bar. Sidewalk has excellent drink prices, we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio for $19!

I came to the sidewalk cafe with a couple of friends and we LOVED our food! We each got something completely different from one another and no compliments! We demolished our food! This place also has a great atmosphere and you really feel like you are in the middle of Richmond nightlife. Definitely will come back again!

So my home boy asked me if I wanted something from sidewalk, and because my fellow JETS Fan brother who works there already opened my eyes to the great food they had, I knew whatever i chose would be decent. So i looked through the menu to see what I wanted, and I chose the steak sandwich. Mind you I was saying to myself “I hope they don’t put steak em’s on bread and call it a steak sandwich”. Man was I wrong, when I say actual steak it was an actually steak cut into generous size pieces on a bun. After I devoured the sandwich my other homeboy asked “bro was it the best steak sandwich you EVER had”? I gladly told him “it was and I’m writing the review on google right NOW”… Coming from LI, New York to Richmond, VA there is not a lot of places in Richmond that hit quite like Sidewalk..easily a 10 outa 10. No🧢!

Awesome dive bar. We went to get a quick dinner. Waitress was amazing and very friendly. Food was great. Grilled tuna sandwich was big and plenty of fries. BLT sandwich was worth the money and potatoe salad was very good. Would go back for sure

Thank you google for helping me find this place! Some of the best food Ive ever had! I wandered into this place on a Sunday during brunch. The atmosphere was lively and I made new friends immediately. The food was impeccable. I got the Sidewalk Benedict and savored every bite. The servers were both gorgeous, attentive, and kind. If I lived in the area Id frequent this restaurant every day. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Shockoe Bottom, Rosie Connolly's Pub Restaurant is a quintessential Irish pub that exudes warmth and community spirit. This snug gathering spot is perfect for those seeking traditional Irish comfort food paired with an impressive selection of draft beers, including the best Guinness pour in Richmond.
Had a wonderful time at first visit to Rosie Connolly’s. Food was great and server, Anne, was terrific. Besides the several pints of Guinness, we had the loaded curry fries, bands and mash, and curry chicken. The fries were out of this world great. Curry chicken and bangers were excellent as well. Can’t wait to bring friends here. Even had a clover in my Guinness foam!

Kindness on Tap at Rosie Connolly’s Pub We planned our day trip to Richmond, Virginia, around ROSIE CONNOLLY’S PUB & RESTAURANT thanks to its closeness to Richmond’s Main Street Station. After a damp day of exploring Virginia’s Capitol Building and the Canal Walk (Wed, May 28, 2025), we knew we’d be dry, warm and well fed and watered in Rosie’s at the end of our visit. The owner’s daughter, Helen, gave us a very warm welcome and she talked to us about the history of the pub and how she’d come here from Liverpool as a child. It actually felt like we’d just walked into our local pub! Food was on our minds, so we ordered: 🥪 Reuben sandwich & fries = $13.95 🍛 Rosie’s Chicken Balti Curry = $16.95 🍺 Guinness = $6.16 🍺 Non-alcoholic lager = $5.31 ❤️ We received another round of drinks at the compliments of the owners 😢 Tax = $5.72 💰 Total = $48.09 We enjoyed our food, which was served piping hot and swiftly. The Reuben was the kind of sandwich you wished you could make as good at home! The Balti curry was interesting: a battered chicken breast was served atop the curry sauce with jasmine (coconut) rice, topped with mushrooms and onions. It had a good flavor. A couple of pints of Guinness complemented the food nicely. Rosie’s was busy but the owwner of the pub, Mr Thomas Goulding, waved to us and took the time to come over and introduce himself. We had a good chat and it was interesting to hear his story - the real American dream - about how he arrived here in 1985 and went on to run his own pub, having originally worked for many years at Ford back in the U.K. When the check arrived, Helen kindly informed us that the second round of drinks was on the family. What a generous gesture and one that was indicative of the family-run business. We thinks it’s incredible that we can walk into places as strangers and find such kindness in many of the places we visit on our travels across the U.S. Rosie Connolly’s was the type of place we could have sat in all night, enjoying the Guinness and the craic, but sadly we had a train to catch and we had to leave sooner than we would have liked. Little did we know that our train was delayed and we could have had another 30 minutes there, and as we waited in Main St. Station for our late train, we looked out down onto the rear of Rosie Connolly’s thinking about our memorable visit. If only we could pop back; we know we’d be welcome!

As soon as I entered Rosie Connolly's I was immediately transported back to Ireland with the cosy atmosphere and walls busy with all kinds of trinkets. The service team was prompt with greetings and orders. Very friendly people patrons and workers alike. My new favorite pub in the Richmond area for sure!

Best pint in Richmond. You can find Kilkenny on nitro as well. Food is very solid. There are low tables and quasi-snugs which is a nice departure from the norm of only high tops.

Very cool, true Irish/British bar! I only had drinks, but I would love to sample the food soon! (It looked really good) Lucky for me, there was an "open mic" night where quite a few local musicians played some cultural tunes with an assortment of instruments. Very neat vibe and felt very cozy with very attentive and nice bartenders and patrons.

Guests can indulge in favorites like squid ink pasta, chopped liver crostini, and white pizza while also enjoying seasonal specialties such as soft-shell crabs or ramp gnocchi.
Great Italian anytime you can get a table or a seat at the bar. Attention to detail in the vinegar salad dressing and the sausage with polenta. My husband’s calamari & chard and the rockfish was excellently cooked. Tiramisu is the best in Richmond.

Would give them 100 ⭐️'s! This is an absolute hidden gem in the city of Richmond. We stopped in before heading to a show at Altria. Not big, ting place, but we squeezed in at the bar and made bar buddies with the couple sitting next to us since we were bumping elbows. I ordered the Oyster Mushroom meal, and it was one of the most amazing dishes I've ever eaten. Didn't even know you could make it into a full meal. My buddy got fresh made sausage, which he gave me a bite of, and it was incredible as well. If you want some top of line Italian food and not the normal stuff, you need to try Dinamo!

Restaurant
Laura Lee's is a modern take on the classic American fern bar, located in Southside Richmond. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with brick walls adorned with art and round booths. It's known for its bustling yet charming vibe, making it a popular neighborhood spot in the Fan area of Richmond city. The establishment boasts an innovative bar program featuring unique glassware and a variety of cocktails, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
I recently had a fantastic girls' dinner at Laura Lee's and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and vibrant yet relaxed—perfect for a night out with friends. The bar area is great for pre-dinner drinks, and the separate dining area offers a cozy, more intimate feel. The service was impeccable. Our server was friendly, attentive, and really helped guide us through the menu, which made the whole experience even better. Speaking of drinks, their cocktail and mocktail menu is definitely worth trying. We all enjoyed a few rounds of both, and everything was fresh and expertly made—definitely some of the best we've had in Richmond. As for the food, we kicked things off with the mussels, and they were absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the crispy bread on the side was the perfect touch for soaking up every bit of it. Everything we had was fresh and perfectly prepared. Overall, Laura Lee's is a must-visit for a relaxed, stylish night out. Between the service, drinks, and food, it’s clear they’ve nailed the balance of great ambiance and quality dining. Can’t wait to go back!

Pros: Nice ambiance, beautiful presentation, interesting cocktails, the Plate appetizer was really great (especially the pickled carrots and fish dip), service was just the right level of attentiveness. Cons: My $38 steak was chewy and a bit dry (homemade A-1 was good). Cornbread appetizer was great texture but flavorless. Semicircular seats were not very comfortable or conducive to conversation. Overall, at the prices I paid I just wasn't blown away by anything I ate. Bummer because the service, presentation and atmosphere were enjoyable. I'd consider coming back for lunch or drinks, but I'd probably skip dinner.

Seated in Laura Lees’s rear garden surrounded by fireflies we enjoyed a magical dining experience. Very dry gin martinis accompanied by fried oysters, pasta bolognese jumbo crab cakes made the experience. An unpretentious Forest Park gem not to be missed.

Cute place but it’s a bit out of nowhere. It was quiet when we went at a weeknight. Only two tables were dining there. The service is great, the waiter is very patient and friendly. The food is good but not great. I had the seared scallops, the scallops are big but I don’t get why it sits on the bowl of soup, and the soup is also too salty. I might come back to try other dishes, the menu looks pretty interesting.
Alex Z — Google review
The food was super fresh and delicious! I definitely recommend the burger and the steak and eggs. Service was a little slow, but I will definitely be back!

This place is great. It was recommended by several people, so I went and checked it out. The food is fantastic. And I love the atmosphere! This is the perfect place to go when we have nice weather. They have a great day back patio. They also roll the doors up in the dining room. The crab cakes, the fried oysters. We're amazing. I also heard from a co worker that the scallops were awesome. My wife got a pasta dish and said it was one of the best meals, she's had in a long time. Drinks were great to. A few coworkers have also told me: they really enjoy going here for brunch.
Chris S — Google review
Wonderful local restaurant with a diverse menu. We went for dinner with our son and daughter-in-law. Our choices for drinks and dinner were all very diverse and everyone enjoyed their fare. I had swordfish in harissa sauce which was a new way for me to enjoy swordfish. Dessert was also delicious!
Harvard R — Google review
The food and atmosphere were both very good, but at least one of their servers has a habit that I REALLY don’t like: removing what looks to them like an empty cocktail glass without asking. I prefer to nurse most of my cocktails until the ice has melted and I’ve gotten every drop of liquid out of the experience, especially at $15 per cocktail. I get incredibly annoyed when it is taken from in front of me without so much as a by-your-leave. Costs them a star.

We were in town for the weekend and spotted this cute spot for a late brunch. The ambiance is super cute and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the steak Cesar wrap and for me it was just okay. I felt it was lacking flavor to the dish. I did order the shareable cinnamon roll and that did not disappoint!! I also ordered their mimosa flight…it was good and had great options but the bar was super slow. I ended up finally receiving the drinks just before our food came out. I would definitely try this place again!

Some friends and I went to Bar Solita last night for a drink and it was amazing! We made reservations in advance, so we were able to chat with the host, Sage, as our table was prepped. She was super sweet and funny and made the very short wait worth it. Our drinks were fantastic, and we also ordered the Birria Eggrolls (still thinking about how good these were). Our server was super great and attentive, too. This is an awesome place to hang out with friends and grab a quick bite to eat, I’ll definitely be back.

A great place to go after work and on the weekend. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The bar is amazing. All the bartenders are friendly and pour great drinks. Sierra is my favorite. She provides great friendly service while serving excellent drinks and food. Being an ex restaurant manager I know how important it is for staff to provide a high level of service while being naturally human - not a robot bringing you food and drinks. She is certainly an asset to the establishment.

Great atmosphere & beautiful decor with plenty of different seating options. Daisy our server was great. Everything on the menu looked great, but we decided to go with the shrimp and grits, the Old Bay spicy chicken biscuit, and the (GIGANTIC) shareable cinnamon bun. Restaurant Adarra offers a comfortable dining experience with homestyle seafood dishes, hearty soups, and classic desserts. Located in Richmond's Jackson Ward, the cozy dining room transports guests to Spain with its Basque-inspired menu. Husband-and-wife team Randall and Lyne Doetzer delight diners with a variety of Spanish delicacies such as Pintxos Gildas, Jamon Pata Negra, and Navajas al Natural.
Tucked away in Richmond, Adarra delivers an unforgettable dining experience that blends warm hospitality with a menu designed to impress. From the moment we walked in, we were met with a welcoming atmosphere, setting the tone for an evening of outstanding food and service. Our server, Lily, was exceptional, she was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the dishes, making our experience even more enjoyable. We started with the three-cheese plate, which came with crackers and their house made blood orange marmalade and honey. All of which was delicious and an excellent way to start the night. The octopus and potatoes were a standout, perfectly tender with a smoky char that balanced beautifully with the richness of the potatoes. My favorite dish of the evening. The pork belly and beans brought deep, comforting flavors, with the pork belly’s crisp edges giving way to melt-in-your-mouth decadence. The prawns and bisque were another highlight, plump, succulent prawns bathed in a velvety bisque that was pure indulgence. To finish, the cheesecake was delicious, light yet luscious, with just the right touch of sweetness. Beyond the incredible food, Adarra’s cozy ambiance and welcoming staff make it a must-visit. Whether you’re a Richmond local or just passing through, this restaurant is a culinary destination worth experiencing. We’ll definitely be back!

We got a reservation at their new location in Oregon Hill. The property is very beautiful. You might want to get there a little early to find parking because the parking lot is for deliveries. Only we wish there was a little bit more explanation of the menu it is shared plates. The serving staff was very professional. Some of our favorite dishes were the non-meat dishes, including the carrots and the beet salad without at least two of the dishes were a little bit too similar for our taste, but still had a very good taste. We should just go with several people so you can try more dishes.
Marci F — Google review
A wood-fired kitchen, understated elegance, innovation, and a level of excellence in the kitchen that you wouldn't expect to find outside of New York or Portland. Adarra has a small, well-curated menu of Spanish / Virginia cuisine supported by a whole-animal station and lots of local sourcing. We loved bespoke art on all of the paneled walls (refreshingly, there are no bottles on the wall behind the bar). There were no weak spots on the menu that we sampled, but we especially loved the lamb belly, the sausage and the Basque cheesecake. Note that the portions are substantial -- this is not a tapas / pinxtos restaurant.

We went there for our anniversary and they were amazing. The food has to be one of the best in Richmond! I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu! They even offered us a free dish for our celebration. We had a later reservation which worked out for the better because there were less people (and less noise). It’s a small space, so it can get a bit loud when it’s full. Highly recommend if you’re looking for some upscale food!

Richmond's food scene has really been improving, and you can find hidden gems in the neighborhood that is out of the way. This is a great place if you enjoy seafood and tapas. a lot of anchovy dishes and variety of seafood. it's a bit of over priced but the quality of food is amazing. the service is top notch. the razor clam appetizer taste fresh, just the portion is a little small. my favorite is shrimp , great flavor and the shrimp taste really fresh. the otopus is very tender and mix well with the white beans in the bottom. crab risotto has great flavor just a little bit too salty. the lamb paella can avoid, it's overpowered by the amount of parsley.

You know how it feels when everything comes together to create the perfect experience? That’s Adarra. We had a glorious evening in their warm and inviting space. Great vibe, made even better by the on point service. Thank you, Lillie and Lyne! Interesting and international selection of wines, curated by Lyne. Our group tried almost every dish on the menu - and remarkably zero disappointments. You absolutely can’t miss the pintxo appetizer - delightfully spicy pickled taste treats on a skewer, with a side shot of Sherry. Amazing. The whole trout was cooked to perfection, which is not the norm for most places. They will debone at the table for you, but of course we did it ourselves for our (and Lillie’s) entertainment. The giant prawns were outstanding, also prepared flawlessly. Get the Basque cheesecake for dessert - subtle flavor, great consistency. Adarra is among the best restaurants in richmond - exceptional atmosphere, service and food. We will definitely be back!

Crafted is a trendy spot that focuses on craft cocktails, beers, small plates, and all-day sandwiches and burgers. Despite its reputation as a beer destination with 30 tap handles, the upscale southern dining destination in RVA's Libbie Mill neighborhood seems to emphasize its food and cocktail program more. The menu features classic southern staples like shrimp n' grits, fried chicken, pork chops, and fresh fish.
Crafted is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food is absolutely incredible—every dish feels thoughtful, fresh, and full of flavor. From presentation to taste, it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in delivering something special. But what really stood out during my visit were the servers, Taylor and Matt (local celebrity). Both went above and beyond to make the evening memorable. Taylor was warm, attentive, and had excellent recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Matt carried the same energy—friendly, professional, and quick to notice the little details that elevate service from good to exceptional. Between the amazing food and the outstanding service from Taylor and Matt, Crafted has set a new standard for me. Highly recommend this spot—you’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

I'm gluten, dairy and soy free. I had the winter harvest salad with shrimp. It was okay, nothing to write home about. The shrimp was served chilled. I asked about fries, they are cooked in a dedicated gluten free fryer, however they use soybean oil, so I couldn't eat them.

We orders some drinks - beer was good and fresh. The Strawberry Fields Forever was very fleshing and tasted. The crab dip was good but there wasn’t enough bread and we had to order more and then we had too much. So work on that dip to bread ratio. We only needed 3 more pieces. We shared the wedge salad and Fire Engine 10 burger. The salad and burger came out together. The salad was average, the pork rinds were an odd topping. The burger was fine. Nothing amazing. It seemed to be a premade patty. Overall it was a good meal and we enjoyed our evening out.
Lead S — Google review
Don’t let the stylish decor fool you—Crafted is mediocre at best. Let’s start with the positives. The Brussels sprout appetizer was solid. Nicely cooked with good flavor and not over-seasoned like you find at some places. The side salad was fine—fresh but forgettable. Now the entrees. I ordered the Fig & the Pig burger, which sounded promising. I love the idea of a fig spread on a burger, and that part was actually tasty. But the patty? It tasted like a frozen burger—dry, flavorless, and uninspired. The bun was just as generic. In the end, it was a boring burger on a boring bun, barely saved by a swipe of fig spread and some bacon. Others at my table had the meatloaf (dry and boring), a Caesar salad with chicken (only slightly better than the side salad), and a few other dishes that were equally bland. In short, Crafted feels more like a place that looks good on Instagram than one that actually delivers on flavor.

Had a great opportunity to visit this establishment on August 24th, with my wife & daughter. We were quickly given an very comfortable seat arrangement, considering I'm in a wheelchair. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu & our drinks 🍸 came out with no mistakes. The bathrooms were handicapped accessible & clean. Food came to the tablet in a timely manner & was extremely delicious. The server check us for additional drinks & to check on our meal with no rush. Truly look forward to return to this establishment & enjoying another amazing meal.

When they had just opened we had a nice experience, food was good, excellent service and atmosphere. Last weekend it was subpar. The service was horrible, took forever for the waitress bring our crab dip, we didn't get enough bread with it so we asked d for more, after having waited 20 minutes, we had to ask the hostess, got a few more slivers for an extra $1.50 we spent most of our time there waiting for the service. We will not go back unless there are some serious changes to the management of staff and service.

Nice place and the food was good but saw our waitress 2 times. Once to order and once to bring food. I had to go find the waitress to pay as I hosted a lunch meeting and had to have all my clients leave to go back to meetings while I tracked down the waitress. I would definitely go back but I hope the service is better.

The food was good, not just typical bar far. Cocktails were excellent. The staff was personable and polite, though service was slow. This may have been a kitchen and bar issue over the promptness of the wait staff. Our party was seated near a boisterous party who felt their conversations were interesting enough that they needed to be broadcast loudly for the restaurant to enjoy. It was not enjoyable attempting to hold a conversation with members of our party keeping our voices at a polite level and yet not being able to hear one another over the din.

Bingo Beer Co. is a Richmond brewery that stands out for its focus on lagers, with their 16 oz cans being widely distributed across the city. In addition to their excellent classic German lager styles, they also offer a variety of other beer options including goses, saisons, and hazy IPAs. The brewery features a beer garden, restaurant, and arcade games for visitors to enjoy.
Big, open brewery with lots of great beers on tap. Loved the Oktoberfest. Perfect for a sunny fall afternoon, especially in the tented outdoor area. Also tried a great cider and the best lavender lemonade. Pretty much anything you drink here is going to be good! Loved the arcade area - reliving our Chuck E Cheese days! Great waitstaff made for a pleasant afternoon visit!

fantastic spot for a relaxed night out, whether you're with a date or bringing the family. The atmosphere is inviting, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the wide selection of games, including a fun Guitar Hero setup. Their food offerings are great, though some portions may leave you wanting more. The Beyond Burger is tasty but on the smaller side. For those who enjoy comfort food, they offer a delicious pizza burger and a variety of fried snacks. We tried the fried mushrooms, and they were crispy and flavorful—a perfect addition to their menu of shareable bites. Bingo Beer Co. also boasts a solid beer selection that complements the food options well. Whether you're into IPAs, lagers, or stouts, there's something for everyone. The venue's spacious layout ensures that even on a busy night, you won’t feel cramped. Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s limited; there's street parking available on one side of the building and a small lot behind and to the side. Plan accordingly, especially during peak times. One of the standout aspects of Bingo Beer Co. is their excellent staff. The team is friendly, attentive, and upfront about the 20% gratuity included in your bill, which is much appreciated. Overall, Bingo Beer Co. offers a fun, laid-back experience with great food, drinks, and games. Highly recommended for your next night out!

Nice atmosphere with pretty solid food. The cheese sticks were good, and so were the wings. Had the garlic Parmesan fries and that was average. Biggest issues were: 1. We came in shortly after they opened and there was no hand soap in the women’s restroom. I notified the team and minutes later it was still None. I’m trying to figure out how are the employees handling food properly and washing their hands without it? 2. They bring you water with no ice, we had to ask for that, guess it’s a special request 3. Please train your servers to NOT reach over others plates when bringing and taking food.

Excellent beer, especially lagers. Not an off flavor or unpleasant beer in sight. Really top notch. As a visitor from out of state, I was really impressed and surprised I'd never heard of this spot. Fun atmosphere, Anthony the bingo host is amazing and made me smile the entire time. Family-friendly. Food looked great but I didn't eat this time. Loved the holiday decor. Easy to find parking. Would send everyone I know here. Super friendly and accommodating servers and kind host.

Pretty big inside, and great parking. Beers are serviceable...I had the Dry Crispy Lager and Hefeweizen and Brambleberry Gose (best). Games are not old school, but you've got TNMT sort of representing...pinball all new machines...space invaders is not the old one but has lasers...whatever--games are cool, just dont expect GEN X to be excited. Service was stellar. Atmosphere and vibe included some cool couch nooks, tables, etc. lots of natural light, good music--better than a coffeehouse to work in and free wifi of course. I'll come back.

Went on a Saturday around 5:30 pm with my two kids. It was their first time there, Ive been here few times but I normally do not get the food. When we arrived it was pretty packed the host mentioned there was a long wait for a table and we would have had better luck ordering from the bar. I still decided to put my name down incase a table opened up. I got my two kids a $40 card that came with extras credits. I walked to the bar and no seat was open and apparently the bartender WILL NOT serve you unless you’re sitting. The kids and I were starving! Finally a young lady gave me her seat and said here they wont serve you unless youre sitting… it was so many people standing around the bar smh such a bad concept. I finally order a drink and Luckily by the time we got a soda I was called that my table was ready. It was national margarita day so I ordered the Verdita margarita… Super gross! It was like a cilantro & jalapeño juices mixed together with SALT 🤢🤢🤢 lol I almost sent it back but I told myself this probably the only healthy thing ill have today lol but never again. I ordered the calamari and house salad, my daughter had the kids chicken tenders and fries, my son had the kids cheeseburger. Calamari was fried hard AND salty, it was so salty that my son said they were spicy, which it wasnt spicy it was VERY SALTY. My salad dressing my salty and my daughter said her chicken tenders were salty… my son didn’t complain about his food. The only thing that wasn’t salty were the fries… maybe next time ill just stick with beers. The card last a very long time. We ate and still had tons of credits available. I was ready to go because I was still hungry. I had to play with them so we could finish them already.

We attended our grandson’s first birthday party at this brewery yesterday and it was fantastic. It’s was so clean and attractive, with a great menu and fantastic, helpful staff. I’m not a beer drinker, but everyone else in our party said the beer was very good. I enjoyed a delicious mocktail. I look forward to returning!

Cobra Cabana is a small, hipster style bar and restaurant in the Carver neighborhood of Minneapolis. They have a large menu that includes vegan items, and their newly renovated patio has become a popular spot for locals and tourists to socialize.
This place was a really cool little spot. We ordered chicken wings (Memphis BBQ and Lemon Pepper), grilled cheese and fries (vegan), and a side of strange mac and cheese (vegan). Everything was really good with good favor however, the mac could have used a little more seasoning. Also, the place looked nice and clean as well. We will definitely be back to try something different.
Kris B — Google review
Cobra cabana is awesome, funky, and unique, but don’t come here in your Sunday best expecting an Applebees experience. It is very divey, grungy, and kind of a metal vibe. They have a live concert stage out back. They play random old movies on VHS. There is cobra art all over the place. There is limited seating. It is basically a bar. All that being said, we loved it. The server came over almost immediately to take our drink order, the food came out alarmingly fast, and they kept checking in. The food was great. French fries were out of this world. We have a tofu hot chicken and regular hot chicken sandwich. Loved them both. Surprisingly, they have a ton of plant based options. The decor is super cool. Again, this is probably not a place for you if you are buttoned up and/or afraid of snakes. It has an edge to it. That edge is the charm though. Everyone was super nice, the food was great, and the staff was wonderful. Definitely a top Richmond spot for us.

These are my people and this is my place. The shows are killer and the food hits. The vibe is chill and not fussy. I always get the snake plissken and side of fries. Food portions are large and drinks are reasonable. Seating is limited with indoor and outdoor options.
Amelia H — Google review
Neat little place with great drink deals. Only downside is, I ordered the extra hot sandwich and it was mild at best. (For online review videos) I will be back in to see if this can be corrected. Again, great little place, but it can be very difficult to find parking.
Justin M — Google review
We ordered home delivery. Someone at this restaurant has a thing for salt! The amount of salt on the French fries and the chickpea salad made them both inedible. Plus, the French fries were so soggy and uncooked that they were literally limp (see photo). That was disappointing. My burger was good. I am not a fan of bread, but if you are, the bun was tasty. The vegetarian in our family had a fried tofu sandwich. She said it was ok. The food was prepared quickly. Delivery was by a third-party service. Overall, I would say our experience was "disappointing" compared to the positive reviews creating a higher expectation. This review was based on one experience with the restaurant. They deserve a second try another day.

greeted & seated on arrival First of all we all know a place in the cut usually has the best food. How did I miss this spot?! I was invited out to Cobra Cabana and was completely satisfied with my meal. Dinner was 10/10! On the walk-in they have outside seating in the front. We walked in and there is a decent space with regular seats and bar seating(we later found out they have seating outback). We were served waters immediately and had plenty of time to look over the menu. They have vegan options which was a plus for my friend. I ordered the Nashville Hot Hen Shot First which came with fries and a Modelo. Shot out to the cooks!! Hands down I thought I had a good sandwich until I had a GREAT SANDWICH. Man that Hot Hen was crispy and coated in the Nashville Hot dry seasoning tasting every bit of deliciousness with every bite. The fries were fresh and remained hot until the very end. They have a variety of beer and liquor. The parking is not my favorite being in the VCU area where there’s limited parking. Luckily it was a Sunday and we found a park easily. I liked the Cobra figures(as pictured) and the countertop(penny design with clear coating).

1st visit. Will not be my last. Everything I was hoping for to recover after a hectic three day birthday weekend. Perfectly cooked with all the things plus great fries. Similar to 5 guys but all the ingredients were better and the burger was bigger. Exactly the delicious greasy mess I was looking for.

Just a cool small pub with lots of good sandwiches/burgers and sides, pretty much all with vegan versions available if that's what you prefer. I didn't see a menu available to look at in the window or before we were sat at a table, that's the only (small) thing I can think to dislike.

Conejo is a lively and popular restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere. The food receives mixed reviews, with some dishes like the beef bowl being praised for its tenderness and flavor, while others such as the ceviche left something to be desired. The attentive and friendly service adds to the overall experience. However, it's worth noting that the restaurant can get quite loud in the evenings, which may affect conversations during peak hours.
There are so many good things to eat here, and they are excellent about indicating gluten free items on the menu. Excellent service and we love the patio almost year-round. Favorites: any tamales on the specials menu, both mocktails, their ceviches, and the birria tacos (maybe my favorite birria in Richmond). The tostados de pescado are the only thing I've ever disliked there. Much saltier than necessary.
Jen G — Google review
Went to Conejo as part of restaurant week and was impressed by the service and the food. It is one of those places where sometimes the sides out match the main part of the dish. Loved my queso with chorizo but the chips were lacking somehow on taste. For my main was a cochinita pibil which had a very tender pork belly but the refried beans and homemade tortillas were the stars. For desert there was no choice between the tres leches or chocolate mousse, which the tres leches was very good. Our server Colin was attentive but not frequent in his checking in at our table. The biggest problem I had was just how loud it was. Hard to have a conversation without raising voices, but would recommend at least a try for other folks.
Jared S — Google review
Food was just okay; I don’t think it’s worth the prices on the menu, especially for how small the portions are. I appreciated their mocktail and cocktail options; I had a very delicious mocktail. I resonate with another reviewer that it seems like the side dishes are better than most of the main courses; the esquires and the guacamole were very well made. I just cannot justify the prices for the size of the tacos or the open faced quesadillas. The interior is colorful and fun and has a very bright and clean aesthetic. It is very trendy inside and i appreciated the decor. We had a larger party and our waitress was friendly at first but overwhelmed at best and didn’t hide her disdain by the end of the night. I will go again to try more dishes but I don’t think this would be my first choice for white American Mexican food.
Britt — Google review
It's always a pleasure to dine at Conejo - good ambiance, delicious and authentic Mexican food, and corn tortillas to die for! Unsure of what to order? Try the Costras - big flour tortilla tacos with caramelized cheese. Alambre and Gobernador are winners. The tacos are also an obvious choice; I love the carnitas and suadero. Also, I had the fideos with cheese as a small side and I really liked it too! Don't sleep on the specials: the other day they had mushroom memelas as well as a scallop dish, and they both were a hit with the group I dined with. As to dessert, do yourself a favor and have the flan. You won't regret it!

I'll preface I'm well traveled (all of Central America but Belize) and my wife has lived in Honduras, Mexico, and Venezuela, Japan, and the U.S. Been here twice. Inside was nice 1st visit, but outside was awesome--great vibe either way so ambiance and atmosphere are pretty and pleasant. This time, I had the caeasar salad (kale) with carnitas--omg, best carnitas ever, crisp and moist. My wife got the chicken--same perfection and mushroom beds were fun to dig into. We love the trio of hot sauces, but they are hot on a VA scale, not Mexico, Indian, Thai, or silly Ghost scale. Beans and rice--excellent. You really need the hot sauce trio to play w all your food, not just a chips and salsa thing, as these are amazing flavor vehicles by themselves despite the tamed heat for VA paletes. Previously we had tried the Queso Flamaedo (excellent) and the fish--amazing special--and taquitos...the later was ok but we loved the rest and had to come back for my bday. Service was stellar. Our fave place w Lolitas. We'll be back again and again.

Conejo has such a fun and lively atmosphere! From the moment I walked in, the energy was great, the music set the mood, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, laugh, and just enjoy yourself whether you’re with friends or family. Parking was also easy and convenient, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, great vibes, and a good time all around!

Came here after work around 6 PM. The sun and rise was my favorite drink (the cinnamon set it off!) I had the quesarria tacos and esquites. The tacos were delicious especially dipped in the consomme. They almost looked burnt but it wasn’t. The flavor was there. The esquites were an acquired taste but I like corn so no harm in trying something new.

Birdie's is a unique cafe and oyster bar that also features a holiday pop-up bar during the winter season. The ambiance is great, and it offers fantastic seafood with excellent service. While some found the cocktails to be average in flavor and presentation, others enjoyed the complimentary champagne and dessert, as well as the delicious oysters and lobster roll. Overall, Birdie's is highly recommended for its high-quality food, outstanding service, and pleasant atmosphere.
Came here during the holiday time where they had Christmas themed drinks and food. This was more of a brunch for me and everything was delicious especially their parfait! Their yogurt definitely had a unique taste to it and the environment and ambience was very nice. Their decorations were really pretty too.

This has some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The ambience is fun yet relaxing, the staff makes some great recommendations. The food is terrific. The oysters are fresh and the mussels are perfectly prepared. The lobster roll (Connecticut style) is delicious with the roll matching the buttery lobster. The birdies chips are fantastic, perfectly seasoned and crunchy. A great experience.

Visited for the Evergreen holiday pop up! It's super cute inside with Christmas decor everywhere! I went with a friend and we each got a smaller plate item (I got oysters) and 2 drinks! First I tried the reindeer games since it was freezing outside and it's a warm drink kind of like a boozy apple cider. It was delicious and served in a cute Christmas tree mug. The oysters were also very good! The second drink I tried was the broken bulb. I'm not sure how I felt about this one, the flavors are different. It was like a spritz that tasted like a Christmas tree. The presentation was beautiful. Our waitress was very friendly and kept us happy! Great experience over all.

I just have to keep coming back! I love birdies so much! It’s the perfect bar in the city! The staff is friendly and the drinks are so good, and don’t get me started on the French onion dip. It’s a bar unlike any in richmond. It feels very European and clean, yet with a vintage flare! I can’t recommend birdies enough!

Great late night vibes with friendly bartenders. Experimental and delicious cocktails, compliments to the pistachio/amaretto/espresso drink. Good apps, too. Did not expect high quality seafood in Richmond.

We had had a mix up with a reservation a couple of weeks ago, and Birdie's more than made up for it. They comped our anniversary dinner and even added special touches like personalized menus and flowers. Not only is the service exceptional, but the food and drinks were delicious. In a day when customer service isn't always a priority, it is refreshing to go to an establishment that will look for ways to make the customer feel special. Thank you, Nicole, for making our anniversary so special!

i would only come here for oysters and cocktails! they’re the best in town. however today we tried the lobster rolls and our bill was $80+ for 2 pinky sized rolls where the lobster fell through the bottom & we had to pick out some shell pieces. super disappointing but staff was sweet otherwise!
Amna A — Google review
Party of 3 for lunch, I had the lobster roll, pictured. Roll was decent but the burn chips were nasty and bitter. I ask my waitress about the chips and complained and she says thats how they are with no sort of empathy or would you like something else? Looking at other people’s pictures mine were much darker. Crab dip was tasty and oysters were great. So party of three with an automatic gratuity of 20%. I’m all for tipping well if I feel it’s deserved but to force a 20% on a party of 3 seems uncalled for. An auto gratuity I feel leads to poor service because the server knows that 20% is guaranteed earned or not. Because of these issues I don’t plan on returning.

GWARbar is a unique and quirky bar and restaurant in Richmond, inspired by the legendary heavy metal band GWAR. Despite its unconventional decor and loud music, it has become a favorite spot for locals. The menu offers both meat and vegan pub fare, including items like vegan sandwiches, sloppy joes, and deep-fried seitan. The cocktail menu features creatively named drinks like GWARtinis and tiki cocktails.
The food is so good like it really didn't have to be THIS good. The burgers are astronomically delicious. I could just eat the patty in it's own. Super cool staff. Awesome decor. Killer music of course. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other menu items. The prices are very reasonable for the quality youre getting. Love everything about this place!

Ragnar19999 — Google review
My family recently had a visit to GWARbar in Richmond, VA, which left everyone deeply unsettled. I was visiting my sister with my family when my wife and sister decided to go out for a girl’s night. They wanted drinks and wings and decided to try this place. My sister and wife — the only two Black people in the restaurant — ordered wings that were served completely burnt to the point of being inedible. What’s most baffling is how these wings made it past the kitchen, to the server, and then onto our table without anyone acknowledging how unacceptable they looked. The char wasn’t just a little overcooked, it was extreme, as if no one cared about the quality being served. When they complained, the order was taken off the bill, but the server simply tossed the food in the trash with no apology, explanation, or offer to make it right. The whole thing felt careless at best and intentional at worst. I hate to even suggest racism, but given the circumstances, it’s hard to ignore how my sister and wife were treated. This was a horrible dining experience that left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I sincerely hope GWARbar takes a serious look at their kitchen standards, staff training, and the way they treat all guests — because this was unacceptable. The last picture is how they were suppose to look, from their site

If you're on the hunt for a cozy spot that perfectly blends Irish and American pub fare, look no further than Rare Olde Times in Richmond, Virginia. This charming establishment is known for its mouthwatering potato nachos and hearty sandwiches, making it a go-to destination for food lovers. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, often filled with local bands playing live music or trivia nights that keep patrons entertained.
I visited with friends, to hear a local musical act. We enjoyed an awesome meal, the music was great, & we had a wonderful evening! Our server, Kendra, was absolutely fantastic! She was right on top of our orders, refills, checking in to make sure we were good without hovering, & all with a big smile & a really great personality! All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience & we're looking forward to visiting again!

I came in for brunch this morning and ordered the full Irish breakfast with no mushrooms. The server thoughtfully asked if I’d like extra tomatoes instead, and I said yes. When my order arrived, I cut into the white pudding only to find they were ice cold in the middle. The server apologized and promptly brought me fresh ones that were heated through. However, I noticed I only received two slices of tomato, so I’m not sure where the “extra” went. Also, they were out of rashers and didn’t have any wheat bread, which might be related to the recent water crisis. Overall, the meal wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything remarkable either. I’m considering returning to try their non-brunch menu to see if it’s better. For now, a mixed experience.

Tonight (Tuesday 4/8/25) was my first time at Rare Olde Times after hearing many good things about it and it did not disappoint. Atmosphere was great, the food was delicious and well priced. And the service - just wow. Almost everyone in our reasonably-sized group was served extremely quickly and correct as far as I'm aware. Five of us had dinner on January 26th. We loved the appetizers and the dessert was excellent. We were not crazy about the fish and chips (Park Lane has better) and I wasn't crazy about my shepherds pie (Penny Lane is better). City Beach, established in 2016, offers a beachy dive bar atmosphere with vibrant green and coral walls, numerous TVs airing sports games, and a spacious bar where patrons can enjoy Moose Juice and rail drinks. The happy hour runs daily from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., featuring affordable domestic bottles, rail drinks, and Fireball shots. While parking is limited, the venue provides quick service despite being crowded.
Great place to hangout with friends, and meet new people. Plenty to do here, with games like corn hole, basketball and pool, as well as plenty of seating if you just want to chill. The Monday night pool tournament is competitive, but the atmosphere is always friendly. Karaoke is on Thursday and Saturday, iirc. Bar staff and security are efficient and friendly, and the food options are plentiful, and always delicious! I highly recommend City Beach.

Went here on a whim with a friend. There's designated parking on the side of the building, tho very limited. Expect the pat down and purse check. Music and crowd were mixed. Fairly crowded! However, for so many people being inside, with no real "direction" at the bar, we started a tab/ordered and were served really quickly each time we approached. Drinks were okay. The food? Bar food. There are games in the back and karaoke in the front. Pool, basketball, and I believe the game is called "Cornhole"? I felt safe the entire time, and there were no "incidents". Also never a line for the restroom!! Win! Id return.

However, I wanted to try this place out because they had pool and what appeared to be arcade games. So we entered the restaurant and not knowing if we needed to be seated or seat ourselves. I didnt want to just take it upon myself and seat us so I waited at the door for about 5-10 mins watching the bar tender watch us. She NEVER even spoke to us when we entered. Ice been to places where its empty and people are at the bar BUT the bartender still takes the time to shout "hey welcome, find a seat where ever you like and someone will be with you". NO, we didnt get that. I had to walk over to the bar to ask "do we seat ourselves or someone seat us". She then proceed to tell me "oh yall can seat at the bar where ever you like". I ask her "are the booths not available", thinking about the fact I 2 under age babies with me and its illegal to sit anyone at a bar that under age, anyone should know that ESPECIALLY a bartender. I immediately ask her as well, "how will the waiter or waitress know we need to be service if I just sit down" knowing I had to wait to long at the door and I didnt see not one waitress in sight. Here's the kicker! She tells me with a VERY snazzy tone" when you start by having a seat"!!!! I take my surveys to heart and although whom ever my be reading think I'm lying, I AM NOT! I tell the waitress what happens and how if my kids weren't so hungry I would have walked out. It's a too many restaurants, new or old that I can go to in Richmond where i do not have to step foot in a place that have people like her working there, too many places! Our waitress saved the day and even compensated with taking one of my appetizers off and apologizing for the bartender. Although I cant see myself going back I'm grateful to our waitress for her positive attitude. I ordered their crab burger with fries. It was worth the price as far as size goes but the sauce that comes with it wasnt to tasteful. My babies ordered thier bacon burger and they were happy, which is all that matter to me. Oh and thier Old Bay season chicken wings are AMAZING!

I ask for a top shelf Long Island, watched the bar tender put all bottom shelf in my drink 🤔. I said ok, ima ask another tender what goes in top shelf drinks. After explaining that Tito’s is not top shelf, they decided to remake my drink. Makes no sense I had to explain what a top shelf drink is to a “Bar tender”

Walked in and was pleasantly surprised. Food was above par and wait staff was very attentive and polite. Kids had fun in the back room playing foosball and basketball. Everyone was happy with the food and our kids said they wanted to come back. Do not waste your time or money going anywhere else to watch the big game, they have good food and drink and good prices.

This cafe is renowned for its ultimate brunch experience served until 4 p.m., making it a favorite among visitors and residents alike. Despite being crowded at times, the friendly service and tasty breakfast options make it worth the visit.
Such a unique and old bar/restaurant. The atmosphere is really great, the menu is simple, the food is great. Nothing to complain about with this place. All-around a solid choice.

This is a really comfortable neighborhood corner bar. The glasses were frosty, the atmosphere is cozy, and there is a big TV for watching sports. There are only 3 taps so its not really a beer drinker's bar, and the appetizers were pretty good.

I have been going to this place since the '70's and it never dissapoints! A fun lively place, good vibe, and food is very good. A very popular small restaurant and bar in the fan district!

You need to respect the regulars. They have their tables and they tip well so wait your turn. The food is great and so is the service. If you expect special treatment, go elsewhere. You earn that here.

Nestled at the corner of Patterson Ave and Sheppard St, Buddy's Place has been a beloved fixture in Richmond since 1982. This vibrant pub is known for its Southern-inspired cuisine and an impressive selection of craft beers on tap, making it the perfect spot for brunch or a lively karaoke night. With one of the longest happy hours around, running from 11am to 7pm on weekdays, it's no wonder locals flock here after work.
Buddy’s is my favorite bar in Richmond. The bartenders are so cool, kind and personable. Drinks are cheap and the food is great. 10/10 every single time!

Cool spot took the family in after church. Bar was full of people, a few tables were occupied. Sat right down took a while to get service but think they just were short handed seemed to be one guy doing it all he was vey pleasant but you could tell he was taking orders and bussing tables so had his plate full. Food was great wife had chicken salad club I had the BLT kids shared French toast we both had tots. Also had the wings and they were gigantic! Healthy portions for all and the chicken salad had huge delicious chunks of chicken. Will be back cool spot good food.

Stanley's is a no-frills restaurant with a cozy, grandma's basement-like decor that adds to its charm. The steak and cheese sandwich is highly recommended for its solid and flavorful taste, with just the right amount of spiciness. The friendly staff and fun atmosphere make it a great place to dine. It may have had some growing pains after opening, but the overall experience is worth checking out for those in search of delicious comfort food reminiscent of past favorites.
The Philly was really good! Enough that I was able to split it and eat the other half the next day. I upgraded the chips to fries and the fries were good but they were massively over salted. It gets busy so earlier the better and watch out for parking because it can get a little busy forcing you to park blocks away.
Justin M — Google review
Very nice place easy to find, might have to drive around a little bit to find parking but it's not too bad. Very cozy old fashioned interior AC. The staff is good kind of get what you want and leave you alone for the most part, could be a little bit more attentive but not bad. The food is crazy good I had the Ted Hanson smoked turkey one of the best sandwiches I've ever had only criticism, I wish the pickled onions were more scattered through the sandwich. Highly recommend this place.
UpLight P — Google review
Like many others have mentioned, I saw lots of great reviews about this place and decided to come in and try the cheesesteak. We arrived 10 minutes before they opened so we found a parking spot right in front on the corner. Had it been a little later, we would have been circling the block. Parallel parking skills is a must! As we entered, we waited to be seated and then once acknowledged we were able to choose our seat. You will notice Eagles paraphernalia almost everywhere. Off to a great start! We ordered 2 cheesesteaks, one plain and one with toppings. For the sides we decided on the fried zucchini blossoms and fries. We also had the bartender make us 2 cherry cokes. Everything was amazing. The fries were a little salty but edible. The bread on the cheesesteak held up so well. I reheated a half of my sandwich for lunch the next day and I promise you it was just as good. They don’t skimp on the meat and it’s seasoned. A win all the way around. The zucchini blossoms had a nice tempura batter and a zesty green goddess sauce to dip. I would highly recommend. I can see another visit in my near future.
Hashauna F — Google review
It’s a busy spot, expect a bit of a wait sometimes. Try to get a spot at the bar if you can it’s much better service than a booth. The cheesesteaks are out of this world. They have absolutely no business being so frickin tasty. The staff has always been super nice, but again, they are busy and it’s a small spot. Come in with a good attitude and they will always reciprocate. I love Stanley’s!
Sean S — Google review
Stanleys has the best Italian hoagie in Richmond. Their Cheesesteaks are well known - but their Italians are what I go for. I've been going to them since they opened - but why make a review today? I haven't been in awhile - and today they actually IMPROVED?! Yes - their bread is softer. They bake it. The manager tipped us off while we were there and told us they got a new oven and that might be why. FOOD: The Italian = South Philly Special It's amazing. Get it. Stanley's Cheesesteak - no explanation needed, also get it. Another underrated gem? Their tomato pie. It's not a pie and not really a tomato on it. It's basically a Detroit slice of pizza that's on focaccia topped with a slight tomato sauce. It's amazing and I've been dreaming about it since I went the other day. --- On the fence about going here? Jump off the fence already. I saw a comment here about parking - and it's everywhere in Richmond, not special to Stanleys.
Bon A — Google review
Tried the Stanley’s Cheesesteak - it was delicious! And big. I could only eat half and took the other half home. I was disappointed in the $3 add for fries, so just went with the chips, which I believe were just your average Lay’s potato chips on the plate. Service was kind, but also forgetful/got our order mixed up - for instance, I wanted the regular, full experience Stanley’s cheesesteak and my friend wanted the same with no peppers, and both came out with no peppers. My friend had asked for a box and never received the box, and the server took up the plate and tossed his other half. Lots of flies roaming around in the dining area. All in all, good sandwich but subpar experience otherwise.
Aubrey E — Google review
As I bit into the most perfect melted cheese and steak sandwich I was elevated to pure bliss. Nothing says cheesesteak better than melt in your mouth spicy cheese and peppers mixed with delicious steak strips. Big bonus was the music they had on. Top tier.
ItIsAndrew L — Google review
The cheesesteak's excellent, but I keep coming back for the roast pork--best I've ever found outside of Philly. Sesame bun is perfect. Don't come here because you saw it on tiktok or whatever and then get upset when they don't magically know to roll out the red carpet for you. This is a busy local bar and the staff is friendly and efficient. Respect them and they'll respect you. Sometimes businesses get busy. Are you seeking out the food or the experience of being waited on? If the latter, maybe go elsewhere. If the former, I don't think you'll be disappointed. PS: Get a side caesar. Don't skip the anchovies.

I recommend this place. Outdoor seating.( That people do smoke at). Lots of indoor seating . English pub vibes. Friendly staff The prices were all very reasonable. Overall great spot. To be fair it was my first visit so I can't speak to all the food. The grilled cheese was delicious but it was just a sandwich. They did have a limited selection of a la carte sides. The sandwich could have used some chips.

Absolutely in LOVE with the new tasting room at Ballast. What a venue! Stunning. Gorgeous place to be on a sunny day. Just what Richmond needed — an eclectically cool outdoor venue with chill dreamy bluestone and cobblestone vibes. I can’t wait to come back and check out the new restaurant and coffee shop and I am already dreaming of a mom’s day out with a cirrus vodka cocktail in hand! Love that I’ll also be able to bring home some delicious prepared food from the Yellow Umbrella. Ballast is a gem and Cirrus Tasting room is what we have all been dreaming of!

New location in Scott’s Addition. Excellent cocktails with interesting mixtures. A whole bunch of different kinds of martinis from traditional to non-traditional, beautiful setting and strong drinks. That is the good the bad is. It’s very hard to get a table and you can only order a drink if you have a table because you have to use the QR code The other bad is it took 20 minutes after ordering to get a drink. It even took longer for my friends to get their tricks. Yes, it’s a new place and they have to figure out their kinks.

We went for family and friends and were so impressed on the charming space, friendly staff and especially the quality of the cocktails. Was so comfortable and clean with both outdoor and indoor seating. We ordered the “So Fresh and So Clean” and the “Jala-Piña Rita”. They were both so refreshing and well made. Cant wait to get back !

We used Cirrus vodka for our wedding and have enjoyed it time and time again since that day! From their pop ups, buying bottles to enjoy cocktails at home, their new tasting room, or at bars across Richmond and more! If Cirrus is on the menu or available - we’re ordering it. Their new ballast tasting room will be our spot all summer long, dog friendly, calm casual and laid back. The new drinks are delicious - the strawberry sour is the perfect summer choice. We adore this company, the owners, their product, their tasting rooms - just it all!

The new tasting room at Ballast is such a vibe! The space is gorgeous, the atmosphere is super inviting, and the drinks were so good. One of the drinks I had was the “Oh My Cod Becky” and wow — it was incredible. The service at their soft opening event was great too — everyone was friendly and on it. Can’t wait to go back again and again this summer!!

Absolutely love Cirrus Vodka's new tasting room! The space is beautiful, and the Paloma I had on the terrace was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Such a great atmosphere—can’t wait to go back!
Liza P — Google review
Only accepts orders from QR codes on tables so if it's busy you can't order and have to stand around waiting. You can't sit across the courtyard either, just at the handful of tables inside and directly outside Cirrus. No cash since it's online order only. Drinks are all well made and enjoyable. Enjoyed this location when it was Blue Bee and enjoy it even more with this new layout inside.

The Locker Room Bar, located south of the river in Richmond, is a beloved dive bar that was recently saved from potential closure. The dimly lit and smoky atmosphere attracts a diverse crowd, offering amenities like pool tables, darts, and karaoke on select nights. Despite its small size and smoking policy, it has a tight-knit community of regulars who are welcoming to newcomers.
Awesome local hole in the wall. One pool table and it is always being used so get there a little early to get your name on the list to play. Awesome staff and great patrons there. They host karaoke on some nights. Great local hang out!

Everything can’t be racist. I’m an African American woman from Ooltewah, Tennessee and nobody has given me a hard time here. I’ve made several friends and my husband and I visit regularly. Austin, Jesse, Doug and Birdie are great. Birdie even got a guy away from me when he tried to put a drink on my tab because he wanted to make me “pay” for petting his service dog which we found out wasn’t a service dog. Dorian made a guy leave for speaking to my friend inappropriately. Plus this is the best place if you want a good time and have a few drinks and not pay $150 for it. It’s black, white, minority and LGBTQ+ friendly. It’s almost a self governing bar. You can’t come in Locker Room and show your ass and expect to drink in peace. Love it here.

*4.5 STARS* We came here for a Father's Day brunch. The french toast was delicious! Probably the best I've ever had, I'd highly recommend it if you're coming for breakfast. The rhubarb pieces in it gave it a nice yet subtle crunch. The Eggs in Purgatory was also good, I really liked the fritters that came with it. It was slightly too saucy for me but still enjoyable. Their Quirk Spritz cocktail is okay, nothing special. The inside of the restaurant is very aesthetic and classy! I was definitely a fan of that. It's perfect for a little brunch date with friends. The service was quick but not very friendly.
Maheen F — Google review
The atmosphere nets two stars, but the rest of my experience left me quite frustrated. The bar was considerably busy during my visit, which was to be expected on a Saturday night. But what was disappointing about my experience was getting served dead last. The bartenders eyes passed right over us for more than twenty minutes, landing on customers who arrived well after we did before ever helping us. Normally I would have just left, but we'd waited so long that we ended up pushing ourselves out of the opportunity to go somewhere else for a drink before our dinner reservation. We'd planned on ordering cocktails, but the service was so slow that we just ordered beers when someone finally deigned to help us. Not really what I was in the mood for, but I guess I'm glad that I saved a little money? I had no desire to stay down in the lobby after this, so we headed for the rooftop for a nice view of Richmond while downing our beers and scurrying off to dinner. A bummer for sure!

Had a great mother's day meal with my mom, sister and daughter. Only had the brunch menu to choose from but I understand they have great dinner menu options. The staff was super attentive and very knowledgeable without being overbearing. They did a really nice job renovating the space here at the quirk hotel. Definitely worth a visit.
Matt M — Google review
This was not a good food day at the quirk hotel.. the ambience is still 5 stars because the atmosphere is very positive and delightful to be in. The staff is also nice and respectful. However, the food was a huge disappointment this time. We both got the Ted Burger and found it to be lacking in flavor and was a tad too oily or greasy. The onion inside was delicious but I was not able to order them on the side instead of fries how I wanted. The bun on the burger became soggy quickly due to them putting the sauce on the bun instead of on top of the burger. The worst were the fries. It had an ungodly amount of salt on them that no addict could endure. It was painful to eat them and had we not been starving they would have sat untouched… then we each got a desert. Both were disappointing. They looked beautiful but tasted meh… the brownie dish was very plain Jane and DRY. The strange whip tastes like air with a touch of discomfort. A scoop of ice cream and minute in a microwave would have went a long way. The banana pudding dish was just too sweet sugary to enjoy. It would have been better with more fruit inside or just less sugar. We barely ate half of each. And they were $11 each..! That’s how overbearing it was and we are moderate eaters of all foods. Meaning we can handle sometimes a little extra salt or sugar we have an American diet but lean on the more heathy side and these were just way too sweet and salty for us to eat. The decaf coffee was very strong / bitter, I’d recommend adding some vanilla or other flavor if you want to tone it down some. I will say this is the 2nd time I’ve come. The first time was amazing. First time was 5 stars which I still have a 3 star rating. I got the same burger and fries for $22 and it was delicious. This time was just a mistake. Also we got a different dessert last time a few months ago that was out of this world amazing. But they changed the desert menu sadly. The previous dessert was some hazelnut mouse thing with little balls inside. I will post a picture- please bring it back!! It was incredible. Also there is a meal tax in addition to sales tax so that is kind of annoying. Added an extra $5 to our bill in this case. We spent about $75 plus tip for our burgers and desserts and didn’t eat or enjoy it. Will be timid to come back but if I do I will have to ask the waiter to exchange the fries or something or just try a completely different menu item.

I love the variety of wines they have-- interesting enough to titillate the senses of a wine connoisseur but welcoming enough to folks taking their first dive into the wine world. I think it's the least pretentious wine shop around town while still holding down a wide selection of wines. The charcuterie is to die for!! They slice their meats in house and have really good quick pickles. If you get a smattering of meats and cheeses, I love that a staff member will share the names and explain each component of the plate/board, if you like. Even the greens for the salad special were amazingly fresh. The high quality, well thought-through food menu that compliments their wines reminds me that they're a sister restaurant to Grisette (same owners). The atmosphere is top notch. There's plenty of seating on the covered patio. When I first visited in cooler weather, they had space heaters outside. Note that they don't really have any tables inside to sit down-- just the standing bar in the middle of the shop, where you place your order. If you're visiting for the first time, know that you essentially enter the doors into a basement/lower level, underneath the stairs to another building. Then, you order and pop back out and up to the patio. Parking nearby can be a bit tricky; be prepared to walk a ways from your vehicle if you're driving into town. As for what wine to get, their selection is always rotating, but the dry sparkling wines are always a delight. Big fan of the Pra Soave that was recommended; it had a dry floral flavor with a little zippy fizz-- perfect patio white wine for a hot day. It was so good that I bought another bottle to go! Any white or rosé they have on the shelf in the shop, they also have cold, so you're not limited to what's on the board. Definitely recommend chatting with their knowledgeable staff members to narrow down what will best fit your palate, but also because you'll probably learn something new about wine, too! 🙂🥂 🤙

Crazy good wine by the glass list but even better bottle selection, if you like domestic stuff, probably less your scene. These folks love them some wine, ask your inner wine nerd questions. Maderia is delicious and super funky, nice to try wine from my birth year! Also RIP The bean/$1 tecate!

Townhouse complex
Nestled in the heart of Richmond, Jefferson Townhouses offers a delightful blend of Southern charm and modern living. One cannot truly appreciate the South without indulging in afternoon tea at The Jefferson, where guests can savor an array of pastries, scones, and finger sandwiches alongside a steaming cup of tea. This elegant experience is enhanced by the stunning lobby adorned with a marble statue of Thomas Jefferson himself.
Gen has been an amazing person! She helped to see if I qualified before I applied. If I wasn’t a few dollars over the income requirement I would’ve rented their townhouse.

I am fairly a new resident that has been in my apartment for about six months. As I have been here, I have ran into a few issues, leaving most of them to be resolved, but maybe one unresolved but when entering the office and having to speak with Genesis, the assistant, she is always willing to listen, talk and try to resolve your issue to the best of her ability. She is always willing to give a helping hand with information. As I have been going in there with many questions, concerns and issues that young lady has always been pleasant And tries to always have a smile on her face which majority time she does. She is quite delightful and speaking with and having in that office. She is one of the best people working there with that customer service. Miss Genesis Will be a good manager, if given the opportunity with a couple more years of knowledge and experience behind her.

Lareesha Greer has been a great help since I have worked with her. Genesis M is also professional and prompt. No complaints here.

It has become the worst place to live since Krystal and Ashley left the company. The new leasing consultant Gen is rude and nasty. I had bedbugs really bad when they finally got rid of them. Now I have roaches really bad if I could give them zero stars I would. If you can find anywhere else to live do so do not waste your hard earned money here. You will only be miserable and hate the decision you have made. I'm glad I'm moving and getting out before it gets really bad cause I see it coming. They are also letting any and everybody In no problem. If you like a getto place to live then Jefferson Townhouse is the place to move. If you don't read the reviews just ride through the complex and see the empty apartments.
Deborah P — Google review
Have rats bad and have bed bugs bad. The rental office knows there is a problem and will moved the first person out then repaint and moved the next person in.This is with the whole complex. When you first come in the gate you see people houses getting treated for bed bugs.
Keshawn G — Google review
Worst maintenance ever. They put PVC foam around my light fixture to keep it in place. They caused my electrical bill to be extremely high because their equipment had a sensor failure and kept saying its fine. had mice and never took care of the situation, just gave me rodent sticky traps .Walls are extremely thin so you can forget about privacy. This is a NO GO ZONE
Nate R — Google review
I love it here. So far so good!!! The office staff has been extremely attentive and helpful. Krystal is WONDERFUL!!! The maintenance staff has been right there with a washer issue as well as an emergency with my lights. Good job guys...and the fence being broken isn't a deal breaker but yeah it stays broken. It wouldn't let me give 5 stars but I love it
J S — Google review
Krystal is a horrible rude office manager, maintenance men are horrible so bad they can't keep one for more than one month, there's a different maintenance man every month and a different front office lady every month who doesn't know basic communication skills and respect. The property is infested with bedbugs, rats and flooding sewage. STAY AWAY FROM JEFFERSON AT ALL COST. They don't like to fix anything here and they're very unprofessional. Genesis property is horrible in general.

Cocktail bar
The Verdant Lady is a charming and newer bar located just outside of the city in Richmond's West End area. Despite its suburban location, it offers an inviting and intimate atmosphere that rivals those found in the bustling downtown area. The interior design is impressive, and the craft cocktails are described as amazing, beautifully made, and delicious. The bar also features daily drink specials and hosts events like $2 off all signature drinks on Wednesdays.
I love this little speak easy style bar. It is amazing for a date or happy hr with friends! All the bartenders and super cool. I have been at least 6 times. We really liked Lexi a bartender there. We look forward to the great experience again!
Laura B — Google review
Charming and beautiful speakeasy little bar! Definitely try the drinks The Verdant Lady and Doc Holiday. You wouldn't expect to walk into this gorgeous space from how it looks outside, but this is definitely a hidden treasure. This is my friend's favorite bar and I'm thankful he took me here while I was visiting. Kat and the staff are truly lovely people and they make such delicious and creative drinks!! I don't drink due to health issues, but they serve the BEST crepes from next door. That lasagna crepe has changed my life (it was so good, I forgot to take pictures of the drinks). It's a great collaboration! I will definitely be back on my next trip.
Jackie G — Google review
I would say having been to quite a few cocktail bars in my life around the world, I would rate the drink quality as the best I have had. A bold statement I know, but the drinks were truly amazing. Not over powerful, the ingredients were balanced and there wasn't any over powering flavours that I find ruin a good cocktail. I had 3 drinks and all of them were fantastic. I would of had 2 drinks but the first 2 were so good I had to see they could be topped. Highly recommend a visit. Keep up the good work!
Sandro C — Google review
The look of the place itself is the best part, there's no sign or markings for the bar. The service was awful though, sat there for awhile (10 min) before even being approached and asked about drinks when I was one of the people out of 5. Waitress wasn't friendly at all and for the cost of drinks and not to mention very over priced food, wouldn't consider coming here again. It's a nice once and done with experience but otherwise could've lived without it.
Sage M — Google review
My wife and our friends, love this place. I'm a DD only but I will say they Dave about the drinks and the staff is always friendly to us. It is very small but we have always managed to get seating for the ladies...
Jeff A — Google review
It's a nice little cozy place with great cocktails on the menu. The bartender made me off the menu cocktail with absinthe which was pretty decent. Mostly seating is at bar. We did not try any food but it was mentioned that food comes from neighbouring restaurant. It's a nice place to enjoy couple of drinks seating at the bar

Visited lastnight with my friends and I absolutely fell in love with the ambiance. I was honestly blown away by the inside and how it was designed. We ordered drinks which were the best!!! I have never had cocktails so beautifully made before and have it taste so well. The music was on point. At one point a song from Shaggy came on and being from the Caribbean it just hit home. This place will definitely be my go to. I recently moved here and was looking for a cute spot like this to come for a relaxing evening. I’m so happy it’s not too big, it’s just perfect!

Toast, New American Gastropub @ Scott’s Walk is a popular spot in Richmond, VA known for its consistent and friendly service. The restaurant takes great care in handling allergies and dietary restrictions, offering separate fryers for gluten-free options. It's a great place for various occasions such as date nights, girl nights, or watching football games with their Sunday Ticket feature. Customers also rave about the brunch offerings and delicious cocktails like the Paloma Mimosa.
Went on a Fri evening around 1900. That's gonna color my entire perspective because as you'd imagine it was quite busy at this time. Parking was interesting because this place is so popular, they seemed to have overflow parking into the gravel lot next to the building. A little off putting but not a pain point. The pain was the seating was very tight. So much so I've considered removing a star because I had to yell over the screaming children to talk to my guest. However, I understand this isn't really the fault of the establishment. They just need more real estate. What made up for this was how delicious the food was and the fair pricing. I ordered the chicken tacos and my guest got the shrimp tacos. Both stellar honestly. I'd definitely return but perhaps at a slower time.

Party of 4. We all enjoyed our food. The only negative would be the Belgium waffle...it was okay & the presentation of it could use some improvement. (I posted pics) service was great...thanks Makayla (sp?) Atmosphere was a relaxed vibe. We definitely will come back.

Clean, unpretentious, and honest food made from scratch and served by an engaging cast of characters posing as staff. 😁 I've eaten more than half of the items offered on the menu and have always been pleased because they put a lot of effort and hard work into their creations and you can taste it.

I stumbled on this place looking for something different for a business lunch. We decided to try it from the reviews. Parking was not easy but it was well worth it. The food was AMAZING with large portions and great flavor. We tried the she crab soup first. I dont think I have ever had she crab soup that good in the Richmond area! It had a lot of meat in it and was more like what I expect in Maryland, than Virginia. I got the Cuban Rueben and my associate got the Pesto Chicken Ciabatta sandwich. They were both Outstanding! The Cuban Rueben is a creative sandwich loaded with corned beef, ham and pulled pork, with slaw instead of saurkraut and is my new favorite sandwich! Our server was only on her second shift ever there and was very nice and attentive. I wish I had got her name. The manager/owner is floating around checking things and I get the impression that he knows exactly everything that is happening in the place from food prep to customer satisfaction. This joint needs more parking, but my buddy and I intend on working our way through the menu and a really hope managment sees this and starts selling that crab soup by the qt!!! I don't go into Richmond often, but this place will be one of the reasons!

I had the pleasure of working with Cathy, Bob and Allison to plan my son’s Groom’s Dinner from out of state. Every detail was touched on by their amazing staff! We wanted a casual gathering that welcomed both families getting to know each other and that is exactly what the Toast staff delivered! The food and service were excellent. All attendees commented on what a wonderful evening we had. Try the Pimento Cheese Wontons, Hanger Steak and Toasted Sesame Salmon, not to mention the rest of the huge menu! This is a prime example of people that are easy to do business with and make you want to come back again and again. I highly recommend a visit to Toast at Scott’s Walk!
Jana L — Google review
I visited Toast in Scotts Addition on this past Saturday to enjoy the game, drinks and lunch with friends. This isn’t my 1st time to this location, I have come to enjoy the staff (Drew & Nat) in that they are super friendly & great bartenders. I ordered quite a few Mai Thai & was informed that with the purchase of the drink the glass the drink came in, the customer could take home. As stated, I ordered quite a few & had two cups that I took home with me. It was not until today Monday, that the part owner Allison was upset that I took the glasses home with me & that I needed to return them. Most definitely unsettling to hear that especially after my departure. Today I made sure that I spoke directly with Allison regarding the situation while returning her glasses. I let her know that it was never known that customers could only take home one glass with the purchase of a drink (clearly not taking home several) but a set only makes sense. Allison, advised “that it was very busy Saturday & I just see you leaving out the door with cups”. My tab was closed out, my bartenders were tipped very well. The issue here, is that if it were a problem then & Allison saw me walking out the door with the cups, why not address it then & there? It was very passive aggressive & almost dismissive especially when I spoke with her today. Let’s just say, Saturday was my last time visiting this Toast. I visited Toast in Scott’s Addition this past Saturday to enjoy the game, drinks, and lunch with friends. This wasn’t my first time at this location—I’ve always appreciated the friendly and attentive service, particularly from Drew and Nat, who are both excellent bartenders. During my visit, I ordered several Mai Tais and was informed that the glass the drink was served in could be taken home with the purchase. Based on that, I took two glasses with me when I left, assuming this was in line with what was offered. However, on Monday, I was surprised to learn that one of the part-owners, Allison, was upset that I had taken the glasses and insisted they be returned. Naturally, this was unsettling to hear, especially since the issue was never mentioned during my visit upon my departure. Out of respect, I returned the glasses and spoke directly with Allison. I explained that it was never made clear that there was a limit of one glass per customer and that taking a set seemed like a reasonable assumption (having a set & purchasing more than one of the beverages). Allison mentioned that it had been a busy Saturday and that she "just saw me leaving with cups." My tab was closed properly, and I had tipped the bartenders generously. If there was a concern at the time, it would have been more appropriate to address it directly in the moment, rather than after the fact. Unfortunately, the conversation today felt passive-aggressive and somewhat dismissive. With that said, Saturday was likely my last visit to this Toast location.

Bellytimber Tavern, located in the heart of Carytown, offers a warm and laid-back atmosphere with a wooden bar. The menu features unique subs, duck pizza, big blue corn nachos, and other New American pub fare. Visitors praise the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, as well as the delicious brunch with reasonable portion sizes and good mimosas. The restaurant's decor is noted for its old-fashioned fans running on long belts and cool murals.
Stopped by for an early dinner with my wife and 2 year old, the wait staff was great, atmosphere was welcoming and we loved the decor... They have those old fashioned fans that run on a long belt and the murals are very cool! The food was a few notches above the standard for the area, keep up the good work!

Excellent vegan veggie pizza with daiya cheese! We eat here every time we visit Richmond. Also they have an excellent selection of beers, many which are a good value.

The food quality, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere at Bellyimber has gone down over the last year. It use to be great food. The last three times I have gone have all been bad experiences. I do not recommend eating here. It is a good place to get a beer.
Jesse G — Google review
Waitstaff was not very friendly; two sandwiches and an omelette didn't make it to our table until 35 minutes after we ordered and we were never once acknowledged by our server or received an apology for the wait. The place wasn't even half full so I can't find an explanation as to why we were treated as if we were an inconvenience to the restaurant. The food is consistently excellent, but the servers need some re-training on customer service. I might order to go, but will never sit down in the restaurant again.
Amy K — Google review
Amazingly friendly staff and a very clean place to eat. Brunch was delicious with reasonable size portions and good mimosas. This place gets crowded so expect a 15-25 minute wait during peak times, but the wait is worth it.

Awesome service, great food, good menu, and cool decor! We'll be back again even though Richmond is a 30 minute drive. They have a decent beer selection but could stand to get a couple more stouts or dark ales.

The bar offers a chill atmosphere with affordable drinks and food. Visitors praise the friendly bartenders who serve quality drinks and engage in pleasant conversation. The establishment also features a free jukebox with an impressive collection of songs.

This place is right around the corner from our house and it’s one of our favorites. It has a chill atmosphere, super affordable drinks and food and the best part is the free juke box with an awesome collection of songs. The plus is Reagan is the best bartender and she’s killing it up front by herself! Love Town Hall.

We went in because it seemed like a good place without a line. I now know why. Kegs were kicked so it took a while to get our beers, but that’s forgivable. Beer was good. We asked for water and the bartender gave it to the wrong people. I got a second beer and the glass was dirty and smelled like it had been sitting on a bar mat since Bill Clinton was in office. We asked for split checks and got one check. I got my card back and it was run on the wrong tab so I had to get that voided. The place has the potential to be cool and the music was good, but this was overall one of the worst bar experiences I have had in my life.

Kayla was Mega Special Fantastic and made my drinks to perfection. I love the atmosphere, but if I had any gripes it was solely with the variety (or lack thereof) of music in the Jukebox. In my honest and humble, medical opinion i think more recent music/artists would elevate this bar to an even higher level. Despite my disappointment in the music selections i had a great time, mostly thanks to Kayla

The food was so damn amazing!! There's new menu items every week while they try out their creative ideals & explore possibilities. The bartenders Reagan & Autumn are really polite & easy to chat & talk with while still receiving quality drinks. It reminds me of a homely dive bar with the different crowds that come together to enjoy good food & drinks. Highly recommend!

Flour Garden Bakery is a beloved gem in Richmond, known for its exceptional baked goods that elevate any meal. With a focus on quality, they offer an array of hand-rolled breads and pastries made fresh daily without preservatives. Their hoagie and sub rolls are particularly noteworthy—soft yet sturdy, making them ideal for sandwiches. Fans rave about their flaky cinnamon rolls and delicious baguettes, which rival those found in Europe.
Flour Garden is my favorite Richmond bakery. Their hoagie and sub rolls are soft, yet sturdy and perfect for sandwiches. Their sweets, like the cinnamon rolls are flaky and incredibly tasty (and big) . The staff is always kind and helpful. Definitely will keep coming back. Also their products can be found in stores around town so google where to find them.

I used to go to 8 1/2 on strawberry Street because they had the best subs on torpedo rolls made by flour garden. About 5 years ago or so the restaurant switched to a cheap sub roll akin to Subway, and I stopped buying subs from them. ThoseThose to rolls were phenomenal with a little bit of pull and chewc and they never got soggy, and now the rolls used are nothing close to the quality of those torpedo rolls that seem nowhere in existence now, and has completely changed the product. if anyone knows where to get these torpedo rolls please let me know. Flour garden never returns calls or messages so they are no good for this information

Bought some baguettes from Sheilds market in Richmond to try and they were terrible. Stale, tasted like a freezer and flavorless. They claim to bake their bread every morning fresh but it tastes like it has been sitting in a freezer for weeks! Gross. False advertising. If you come across their bread don't waste your money. Talked to gut that used to work there and he said they would bake their bread days before and then freeze it and sometimes just leave it sitting out and that the bakery itself is dirty and their equipment is not cleaned or well taken care of.
