Our first visit today with my sister (who’s local) and raves about this place. Great welcome from the staff, helpful too as I was confused with which burger to choose (thank you Thomie). Food was really hot and tasted amazing. Fries with toppings was large but plain fries seemed a smaller portion. Overall a great place to go to. Please please open one in Essex or even London 😃

My 2nd time visiting and a 1st for my son, possibly THE best burgers we've ever had!! Service is just fantastic, very attentive, lovely and bubbly... Food is incredible... juicy, full of flavour. The milkshake my son had was literally the nicest milkshake I've tasted (he allowed me several sips). Will 100% be back again to try a different burger! Only thing we didnt like were the Poutine fries, but that's personal taste...Ninja wings are top notch 👌

Awesome venue. Top quality food here. Burgers are stunning. We had chicken tenders too which were ace. Madison our waitress was superb and it was a pleasure to be waited on by her. There is an optional service charge of 8%. Totally discretionary but the service was so good it was completely deserved. Thank you to The Beefy Boys!!!

What can I say! They finish 2nd in the World Food Championships. Great, amazing, tasty burgers. Great quality meat and ingredients. We keep going back, we drive from Worcester, for the burgers!! Service is always on great. Very welcoming, friendly and efficient.

We came here for dinner, 2 vegetarians and 1 meat eater. The vegetarian options were good considering it’s a place for people who eat meat, I think there could’ve been more sides that were vegetarian other than fries and mac and cheese balls. Obviously the burger was really good too. Tsuki, our server, was also really friendly and attentive!

You must visit this place if you are un Hereford, looking for a succulent burger. Lots of options on a menu, I was offered a gluten free bun for my burger, and our waiter even advized me on what sides were suitable for me or not. The inside of the restaurant is nice,music not too loud, and good choice of beverages as well.

First time at Beefy boys and they didn't disappoint!! Went for thier new bbq plater. What a feast!! Food was perfect! Nice smokey flavour but can still taste the rub, the meat. I don't know what was used to make the pit beans but they were the best I had ever. Service was great, quick to deliver very polite. I cant wait to visit again!

Visited for lunch to celebrate the start of Lunar New Year. Great food, lovely atmosphere and superb service! Especially loved the classic Tom Yum Soup. Be warned - the Jungle Curry is really spicy, but it hits just the right spot!

Beautiful little restaurant with friendly staff. I got takeaway for 3, pad thai and jungle curry with crispy fried duck. Good flavors all and the jingle curry has quite a punch! I’d get them all again except the duck which seemed a little dry. The Voignier wine was well chosen for the food.

Me and my partner both had the loaded hash browns on this visit. A pleasant enough dish, but not quite filling enough for us. The smoothies were delicious though. Service here we have found slow in the past but was much better this time. It's a popular place so can get quite noisy on a weekend. Very trendy decor. Love the detail of the hanging books.

I’d heard about the legendary Sunday lunch at The Bookshop but this was my first time trying it and I was not disappointed. I chose the beef and it came out deliciously rare with an incredibly tasty beef shin cube of delight. The roast potatoes are fluffy and crispy, the veg is lovely and the jug of gravy is more than enough. Our server Erin was great, attentive but not annoyingly so. Just a perfect Sunday lunch.

Food great - hash browns were incredible. Decor and music great. Service a bit of a let down… our waitress was lovely (brunette with glasses) but unfortunately I did witness the barista (blue hair) and another waitress (blonde hair with glasses) rolling their eyes and commenting on our kids and the mess they’d made (really wasn’t that bad and I cleaned it up) some trust that we know how to leave a table would be nice… shame I was left feeling a little uncomfortable. Didn’t seem to be a manager to speak to.

Nice old place with the usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Decently decorated and quite a large room. Staff were friendly and polite. No discount on ales for camera members when I were there. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Just had lunch here and shocked. As a local lad, I knew the imperial had gone down hill but this was woeful. Portion size was tiny and my adults meal was around the same size of my kids meal (and £6.00 more). However, the kids meals were very disappointing, my eldest child’s burger was burnt. They both had beans with their meals, one had a full small bowl of beans and my other child had a small bowl but half full and the beans looked like they were off someone else’s plate. They replaced the burger which was still hard. I’m not shocked it was quiet at a Sunday lunchtime. Will not be eating here again especially paying nearly £60.00 to eat here with two children. Avoid if visiting Hereford. McDonald’s burgers are genuinely better.

We were bitterly disappointed with the lunch we had as the veg was not cooked properly and the shepherds pie was very poor. more cheese and pots, which seemed artificial. I had to have a mint to take the taste away. We were only too happy to vacant the building We will not be returning. I hope your meals improve for future guests.

Dropped in for a spot of Sunday lunch, and well worth the visit it was. A good selection on the menu at very reasonable prices, which included extra roasters and veggies at no extra cost. I went for the Three meat Roast and very good it was. Plenty of everthing, including gravy (some do skimp on this). Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would go back again. If i were to be picky and pull them up on one thing, it would be the temperature of the food when it arrived. It was a tad on the cool side, could have, and should have been much warmer.

Had issues with our food everything comes with cranberry added both cheese garlic bread and giant yorkie dinner(not mentioned on menu items), mentioned it to the server, never heard anything back food was decently cooked but not so great considering the price.

I really enjoyed my fish chips peas but my friend had the burger bacon .. burger was burnt he sent it back then it came back tasted like it had been cooked 30mins before being served .. along with the bacon that was stone cold. Have they changed the chef? As the reviews seem good on here … maybe they were just having a bad day ..

Went up to Hereford easter holidays for day out always love it up there. Been in the imperial Inn few years back but thought Try again today. Very busy but is good Friday. Food was lovely and had 2 burgers and kids meal with kids dessert all for around £31. Fast service. Would 100% recommend the place. ...Update again on this place again after being been here again now 1st july food was fantastic again today. And you can get 2 cocktails for £11.99 which is good deal 2 burger meals with drinks and kids meal with dessert and 2 cocktails all for £49 which for all that is a bargin and fantasric staff this time

Popped in for a spot of brunch. Recommend scrambled eggs on sourdough bread (£7, 3 large eggs) - it was filling, perfectly cooked, delicious. Very pleasant welcome, good coffee and tea. Tasty lunchtime specials too. Recommend reserving a table at lunch time as many were reserve for later. They will squeeze you in but ask that you do make the table available for the reservation time.

Amazing service great food, we had the restaurant to ourselves , they kindly opened it in the evening just for us .thank you all for a wonderful evening for us to remember on our special birthday.

This place is Hereford's best. Everyone must go. The staff are friendly, professional, efficient and smiley. The food is clearly prepared by a team who know what they're doing- it's well seasoned, fresh and bang on french trend! The atmosphere is quaint with a beautiful garden and the back so you've got a lovely choice of tables. I'll say it until ok blue on the face, you won't get better in Hereford.

I enjoyed the bacon sandwhich, and mocha for breakfast. They have a lovely courtyard out back. I would definitely sit out there. We didn't realize there was outdoor seating!

Usually get a decent carvery lunch here and almost a must when I’m in Hereford. Great variety of meats on offer and Richard serving is always friendly and welcoming. Vegetables cooked to perfection for me. Not too hard like some places that take “al dente” to the extreme, not too mushy that it falls apart. Thank you Caroline for your wonderful expertise. Young team of waiting staff which could do with a little advice like not handling cups / glasses around the rim and to deal with spillages asap instead ignoring and stepping over it. Overall, it’s a lovely lunch in a lovely setting looking over the river and also the cathedral from the side.

Having spent the day exploring Hereford, we were looking for somewhere interesting to eat. De Koffie Pot is located adjacent to the river and a short walk from the cathedral. It offers a substantial menu, including a wide choice for vegetarians and vegans. Ordering is preferred through their app, but can be placed in the traditional way - and more personal - at the bar. Service was reasonably swift and the prices very reasonable. Be aware that if choosing a burger, the fries are not included and need to be selected in addition. We sat outside in the covered marquee, complete with fire pits. There is a good atmosphere in this area. A stage and screen offer a space for live events. Recommended for a coffee, lunch or dinner.

Just a short work from the Cathedral and on the river this place has SO much going for it. The premises are superb with a beautiful building and great outdoor seating too (river views; some covered; fire pits) and is worth a visit every summer. It has some good beer and food options, but what prevents it from being unmissable is the service which is often slow and can be disinterested and (ironically) the coffee which is too hot and a bit tasteless.

I had a really nice salad with a cold beer on a hot day. We brought our dog with us and she was given special attention by the bar staff. We felt very welcome and the food was fantastic. Also, the location and the views are extremely pleasant. I highly recommend this venue to any visitors.

Fantastic food had a salad and dirty fries .very quick service when we had ordered but the queue was long...there was lots of tables and we were able to find places to sit even when it rained slightly...music was a bit too loud was difficult hearing each other so we moved a bit .

Very interesting coffee shop/pub with lovely Hereford burgers and beer. I didn’t get to try the coffee, but I’m sure it was lovely too.

Amazing riverside location with lots of outdoor seating (where white canopy is shown on photo). They often have live music which can be a little loud but creates a lovely atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Lovely coffee & cake selection and a bar available. Inside is cosy looking and food choice appears good so will be returning to try something from the main menu. Toilets nice & clean & staff always very friendly.

We’ve stopped here twice now and have been surprised on both occasions on how good the food was! The flatbreads and pizzas are genuinely a must have, great for kids and families too, at a wonderful price. Adults meals are roughly £8-10, with kids at about £5-6, making it affordable and so so so worth the cost. There’s a lot of choice of drinks, whether you like your tea or your pop, and that continues to be the case for the food menu, within the realm flatbreads, paninies and salads that is! T he is has become a highlight of the day into Hereford whenever we take the kids out, and is always such fun. There is a lovely community spirit with a pay for a stranger in need scheme going on, as well as interesting decor. I’m very certain we will be back, see you soon!

Kind staff, delicious pizza and some very nice lemonade! Very good portions too, we caught them on a slow day so food came quite quick!

Wow! The best falafels I've ever had, and some amazing sweet potato ribbons too. Such a delicious salad, lovely coffee and great service. 100% recommend.

Had lunch here and the next day I went back for breakfast. Such a lovely little cafe in the heart of Hereford, on beautiful Church Street. Everything I ordered was delicious. I ordered a delicious chai latte which I loved because it wasn’t too sweet.

INCREDIBLE FLATBREAD. Best vegetarian meal I've ever had. Rainbow salad has excellent dressing too, no dry salad here! Highly recommend. 10/10

Friendly service, good ambiance and delicious food

We have been here a few times ages ago but today unfortunately the staff weren't the best. It wasn't just me that noticed either as a lady opposite had issues aswell. Service was incredibly slow, they all looked like they had the weight of the world on there shoulders and couldn't break into a smile. The girl serving us barely spoke and when I asked where the toilet was she just stared at me with an annoyed look on her face and pointed too the door. To be honest we don't tend too go out for food very often but I think it needed too be said. I'm not sure if they were having a bad Sunday morning or what but it just didn't look professional at all. Also one of the girls sneezed in too someones coffee when preparing which was lovely...Food was decent though and the general place is nice.

So good we visited it twice. We were on a family holiday to the Forest of Dean and visited Hereford twice. Hereford is really dog friendly including this cafe. The menu is broad and we were all able to find something. The staff are really friendly and the service was really quick. We enjoyed the coronation chicken sandwich (who knew you could put an onion bhaji on a sandwich), sausage sandwich, cheese and ham sandwich and jacket potato with cheese. The staff were able to tweak the sandwiches for the kids (replacing mustard mayo for normal mayo etc). Portions and freshness were value for money. When visiting later in the week we returned as we enjoyed the food so much the first time, this time having the coconut chicken sandwich. It was good to see it busy for sitting in and take aways. The cakes looked yummy. Would definitely recommend a visit 😋

Ordered the coronation chicken sandwich and it was easily the best sandwich I've ever had. Loved the atmosphere - felt like we were being waited on by our peers - other moms and dads who knew how to make a guest feel right at home.

Superb sandwiches and very generous quiche and salad boxes for takeaway. Breakfast was spot on to start our walk early! Quick, efficient service. Highly recommended!

First time visiting & what a lovely place to stumble upon. We popped in for something sweet to take away, and didn't realise they were closing in 15 mins. The staff were all super friendly despite the timing, and all very helpful. Came away with what I can only describe as a slice of heaven! I had the lemon curd crumble cheesecake slice, and it was absolutely incredible - all of the baked good looked fantastic that I did struggle to choose. I love that everything is baked in store, you can tell they care about their food. The staff even offered us 2 slices of quiche for free as it was going to go to waste, what a lovely gesture and great way to help prevent food wastage. We were very sad that we'd already eaten lunch, as the menu all looked really good - we'll definitely be back for lunch another time! What a great little find.

Wow. Staying over at travel lodge and stumbled upon this little gem. We hadn't booked but that was fine. Staff were polite and food was fantastic ! . If your ever nearby then I highly recommend. I do believe they do takeaway. But unfortumely I do not live nearby.

I was a one person walk in... Put on a pocky table but the stairs... Place has had a few pickups and on 4person table. Start tray was loaded and the coconut was quite nice.... Took one popadom and 3/4the way though a pint before came over to take the order. Took the banquet deal 1795 Looks ok The king pwan was over done hummm I asked at order and the chick fruit curry... Ye it fruity source... Could not provide any other details... Came out not sure how fruit... As couldn't see much other than a few raisin (perhaps) lots of walnut and 7 prices of chicken. The desert is not a choice it is about 10mm max slice of Venta ice-cream... Humm Asked for the bill about 10mins ago still not here... Tbf flavour was ok. Not value for money in any shape or from Just to add, I did speak with the owner about this and said maybe it will be better next time... "I don't want you back go, don't come back" I did ask if he was sure about his comment....

Had a fantastic meal here tonight! The food was fresh, tasty and the establishment was clean, staff were lovely, very friendly and a good laugh Mr.Sham was very kind and allowed us to choose our own table even though they were slightly busier than expected!! Definitely worth a visit and I will return. Thanks guys!!

Thank u guys 13 of us turned up late notice and they we've very accommodating for our son birthday. Food was top notch excellent night and they came out with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday thank u guys made a very special night we will be back. This place is the best value food around for miles. Curry is amazing and the service is very good too.

Lovely looking pub inside, spacious and clean. Cheap and cheerful menu. However the food was not great today. Very dry jacket potatoes with the tiniest amount of toping. The side salad was also limp and brown. So unfortunately we left most of it.

First visit and wont be the last, I was looking for somewhere to get something to eat and I wasnt disappointed the place was spotless with lovely staff and the food was freshly cooked such a shame I couldnt eat it all due to being put of in wetherspoons a few doors down! I'll definitely go back though and I'm not sure why this place isnt busier than wetherspoons which is dire for food and cleanliness yates is a stark contrast and much more nice a place to go!! Please try it you wont be disappointed

The restaurant itself is clean and inviting. I ordered the all day breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Probably the best I've had. The ladies behind the bar are really friendly, accommodating and all around lovely! Plenty of tables to tune into the 6 nations games which was the reason for the visit. Will be back again to try more of the meals. My mother's choose your own salad looked delicious!!

It's good for showing sports and meals. I visit this pub occasionally and on my recent visit the pub, the music was too loud that you could have a decent chat and the glasses were dirty!! But the drinks were good!!

One of my favourite pubs class this as my local but today Boxing Day my friends meal was the worst and the service from the manageress was abysmal. Here attitude was tough, when we asked why there was no bacon on the pigs in blankets her reply “that’s just how they come nothing I can do about it” the katsu chicken was dry when asked if we could have a bit more sauce the same women replied “yes but you will be charged” After asking a second time and the same response I advised her that Craig the manager had never charged us she immediately ordered sauce which did arrive once the meal was completely cold! Not impressed.

We went to see our grandson dance in Moving Target 2025 and his school, along with around 18 others from across the region, were absolutely fantastic. The Courtyard is a lovely place to hold it, bright, clean and comfy seats and the staff are all, without exception, kind and helpful. We will certainly be back and would recommend it anyone who has yet to go.

I very much enjoy watching movies at The Courtyard, it's a very relaxed cinema that offers good value for money and they screen a very diverse range of movies. As a lover of horror, science fiction and cult films I find myself coming here quite often.

We enjoyed the coffee, caker and film, thank you. What we did not enjoy was having to sit through 25 minutes of advertising before the film began. It was scheduled to beging at 11 00 and actually began just before 11 30. We stopped going to the Odeon etc. because of all the rubbish we had to sit through prior to the start of a film, we hope this is not going to become the same at the Courtyard???

Went to see the rocket man (Elton John tribute) Haven't been for a while and first time I've eaten at the court yard, extremely basic menu with little choice BUT well executed, with not excessive over inflated prices. The bar and waiting staff were attentive and polite. The table layout were close BUT well enough spaced without feeling like you were over hearing the next table. Toilets were clean and well maintained but quite snall for the anout of people using them meaning queuing for cubicles and must be very problematic when there is main box office preferences as well as other stages and the restaurant all being used at the same time. BUT even after pointing out the problems had a very enjoyable evening and will be back

A very nice place, lots to do here, shows, cinema etc. Good parking also. Have just seen The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra who were fantastic. There's always shows or films on which I've always enjoyed. There are stewards around to help you if needed which is especially important during busy times as it can be hectic in the foyer/bar area. I've been again tonight and saw the music of Carole King live on stage with a signing/dancing cast of 8. Again a good show and a good visit though couldn't park in the Courtyard car park, rare that it happens so not a problem as there's a multistorey CP across the road. The Courtyard is currently in the Borderlines film festival season (March) with multiple films on throughout the day. It is very well run with help on hand for those who may need it. All the facilities are open each day as well. SUPERB!

What a wonderful new cafe, great service with a smile. Large selection of quality cakes to choose from, I went for a tasty hot chocolate and fluffy blueberry muffin..very enjoyable and would definitely recommend. Will definitely be returning with my pooch next time so she can enjoy a puppuccino😋

A great deli with a nice selection of fresh sandwiches for lunch. Good for veggies/vegans and carnivores alike! The hot chocolate is rich and creamy, tastes like real chocolate and would definitely recommend giving that a try. Staff are helpful and there is a little space to sit in the corner if you fancy a pit stop. Great selection of quality ingredients available to take home too.

Purchased handmade chocolate got home and found hair inside it. Disgusting and unacceptable, disappointment exaggerated by the high price paid for it too. Went into the bin.

I ordered a hamper for my husband as an anniversary present - he's rather partial to cheese and wine! It contained lots of lovely local produce as requested which so far have been delicious. Liz was very helpful in choosing contents and delivered as agreed. Would recommend

Oh my. What a gem of a place. All local produce. They made sandwiches to take away for lunch. They were amazing. We had a quick brew. It was delicious. There is limited seating but we got some seats. The service was fast and friendly. I loved it

Fed up with the usual office festive lunch of horrible mince pies, cake that get described as "moist" as if that were some sort of good thing? Then do what I did and get some lovely fresh sourdough bread and proper cheese together with some RUNNER BEAN (yes really) chutney and your reputation as a discerning foodie will be made for life!

It is a good pub. It has good atmosphere and friendly people from my experience. Would recommend for a night out. also has a good pool table. One of the managers came out and gave us a free game of pool on the house. It was a very nice gesture.

Visited The Barrels on a warm Saturday night and had a brilliant experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home. Despite the heat, every member of the team remained upbeat, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. It’s rare to find such consistently great service, and we truly appreciated the extra effort the staff went to. A big thank you to everyone at The Barrels for the warm welcome and great hospitality — it really made our night!!!

If you are within the Hereford City Area, just GO ! Haven't rate 'food' as they don't do it. Fabulous staff! Very knowledgeable about their ales, Larger etc, and very, very, helpful & Knowledgeable about other pubs in the area. Hereford bars don't see it as a competition! They see it as 'their' area! A sort of, 'one for all, & all for one' sort of thing...... I highly recommend, The Barrel, & The Orange Tree, for beer/ale etc & the Rose & Crown for food ! ( sadly....you can walk between them all ! What a terrible way to spend a day..... week ...... 🤣🤣🤣)

Went to a function room in the back bar , was a long thin room with a small stage and lots of tables and chairs. The Young lady who was behind the bar was fantastic.

What a great traditional pub. Perfect beer. Great company, chat and snacks. If you like good beer, do not miss this place out on your Hereford visit. Great pint as usual, chatted with the locals and dog lovers outside. I wouldn't want to drink anywhere else in Hereford.

The perfect pub. In-house brewed beers. Plenty of variety. Excellent prices. Pool table. Regular live music in the beer garden.

Loved it. We were made most welcome on a midweek evening especially our dog who soon had a water bowl, treats and a fuss (she loved) from the landlord. Our new favourite Pub in Hereford but with plenty of competition!

First time here and was pretty impressed with the Amount they had on tap! The Barman was really helpful at catering to our beer tastes and had great recommendations. I was recommended a peach cobbler sour which was one of the best I’ve had. Place had great vibes but shame there isn’t much of a space outside for chilling in the sun. Will definitely be returning.

A really good micropub with a wide range of high quality cask and keg beers and unlike most other micropubs , some fantastic Real ciders. This place also has decent comfortable seating which makes it easily the best in Hereford and one of the best in the country. It's a shame that no other Hereford pubs make the effort to stock high quality ciders like Oliver's and Ross cider , most have the usual rubbish from Westons

Stopped by for a takeaway. You get 10% off your order if you're taking away. They also sell glassware. Smashing little tap house, really friendly and helpful staff. I've been twice now, both times for takeaway. I will eventually actually stop for a pint

The whole family loves this place. The food is always great and all the staff is so nice and friendly! This is by far our favourite restaurant in Hereford. I would recommend it to anyone at any time.

Best birthday for hubby! We loved this place! It was clean, the service from John was perfect. Everything regarding cooking the food was explained and the cocktails were divine! It was a cold, wet day and crispy cauliflower florets cheered me up! All of the food was super fresh and it was a brilliant experience! Highly Recommend! x

Called in with my family for lunch on Friday 09/06/23. It was our first visit. Initial impressions were good; the restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean and tables had been cleared / set ready for customers arriving. Service was prompt and efficient. Our server, named Gee, was excellent. The food was well prepared, nicely presented and tasty. I have dropped one point only because the food is a little pricey. I would return and can recommend.

First time visiting here and we booked last minute for our wedding anniversary on a Friday night, the staff were so friendly and helpful explaining the menu. We went for the first class meat platter to cook on the hot plate which was so different and sociable, the wagyu beef was like butter! We also had sushi on the side which we could tell was super fresh and well made! A perfect dining experience and we left merry and full, will definitely be back soon!

I love the food here! We were a large party and they accommodated us well. Service is very friendly. The only thing was we wasn't offered deserts as the kitchen had closed by the time we had finished our meal. So with that in mind if you are not eating until late the kitchen is shut by 9.30.

Food was beautiful, delicious and well presented. Staff were attentive and helpful when asked. Our only gripe as first time customers is they did initially assume we knew how to order and what to expect. But its hardly a fault as we should definitely have asked also!

Vibrant atmosphere and great food, as someone who's usually taking the little ones somewhere for a kid friendly dinner, this was a great place for a date night with my wife, even if my chopstick skills left a bit to be desired. Was very busy early in the evening, becoming quiet after 2130, definitely a place to book in advance, even midweek.

Superb all day breakfast, love the House Benedict and the English Breakfast. Lovely local quality food, great friendly service and the best coffee in town. Their milkshakes and prices are great too. Treat yourselves to a lovely weekend breakfast, you will want to go back every week, we do!

Small, fairly modern setting to enjoy a great breakfast. Staff are polite and friendly and the prices are very affordable. Would encourage the business to sell even larger mugs of cafe latte. The owner/manager is a very friendly man and makes deliberate effort to befriend customers who visit which makes people want to come back again and again. Perhaps should consider expanding.

The service received is always very consistent and reliable. The staff have always been very friendly, relaxed and always service with a smile. The food and coffee are produced to a high standard. I love the small attention to detail they focus on when presenting the coffee I order. Superb venue to have a relaxed coffee environment with friends, family and work connections.

We found Diego's online! Decided to give it a go for Sunday brunch; absolutely love it! Staff are really friendly and accommodating! The food is delicious and really hits the spot! The coffee was so good we had a second to take away! Completely recommend 100% It our new favourite spot!

This is what cafes are meant to be. Friendly staff, excellent quality food for a Sunday brunch and nice strong coffee - all reasonably priced and well presented. The food felt high in quality and had great flavours - particularly brilliant was the hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Royale. The new lunch menu looks very tempting, wish we lived closer!

We had a disappointing experience tonight. Firstly, part of our order was missing, and when we rang the restaurant we could only reach the answer phone. The food was cold and the portion size, for what we paid, was over the top We ordered the duck for two which came with 6 mini wraps, a small portion of duck, dried out spring onion & the stingiest drop of sauce. That set us back £13+. We also ordered the popular prawn noodle dish, for just under £10, which contained 4 prawns. Our spare ribs dish contained 4 mini ribs the length of my thumb. I'd normally not bother leaving a critical review, but having spent £38.50 on the most unappealing, disappointing "treat", I feel compelled to share an honest review. We'd not order from this restaurant again. * The restaurant's customer service was amazing. We have since been contacted by management, apologised to and given a complimentary dish which was all appreciated *

The food was tasty but the portions were small with little substance. We were hungry when we'd finished. Very expensive too. £40 for 2 dishes 2 rice and a salad. Definitely not good value for money.

The takeaway service is really good. They also add free stuff including a Thai beer. The food is so good. This is always the first choice take away for us when we can afford it as its not cheap. But Definately worth it

Very disappointed tonight called in for our takeaway, very disappointed with the service of young inexperienced youth, usually get lovely services from a lovely young lady who makes us feel most welcome , lovely food .just get rid of the youths on services they've awful, rude, incompetent. The ONLY premises in the whole of Hereford to have a food hygiene rating of zero (Google "scores on the doors"). You have been warned. Better book the next day off work and stay close to the bathroom!

Food was good, nice and hot. Service from our server was awful though. Requested additional payment for dips that were included with our meal, part of our order missing and then only one cup supplied for a bucket meal. However, the other server was lovely, along with the gentlemen who was clearing the tables. He was a gentleman! and even cleared our table after waring too. Thank you to you both, its a shame others let the side down.

Food was okay, but none of the ordering screens were working when I 'tapped' them. As the counter was quiet, I approached and asked if they could process the order as the screens weren't working. Firstly, the extremely sullen young lady mumbled something about the screens and then went through a series of one and two word questions to elicit the order from me. No pleases, no thank yous, no smile and barely any eye contact. Do KFC not train their staff, or do they just leave them to behave as they want?

To say it was Easter Sunday the place was not overly busy and we had no problem parking in a disabled ♿ bay or finding a table. We used the automatic ordering option and requested table service. The food arrived in less than 5 minutes and was hot and good quality. The main recommendation I would make is to add more disabled parking bays as there are only 2 at present. It can be a bit chaotic when it's busy but on Sunday everything was good.

Staff are super friendly here - or have been last couple of times anyway. Queues can be long depending on when you go but nothing they can do about that. Generally food is good - only once did I have a poor experience but normally it's the standard you'd expect.

Pulled into McDonald’s Hereford on a Wednesday night before a long drive. It was busy, but fair play, the team were firing out orders like a well-oiled fryer. I hit the road and reached for the banana milkshake, ready for that thick, creamy goodness. What I got instead was… well, banana-flavoured water with a dash of milk and maybe a distant memory of thickness. Honestly, it was less milkshake and more milk-oops. By the time I realised, I was already heading down the road — too late for a swap, so I just had to suffer in silence (until now - its still urking me). Burger? Fine. Fries? Solid. Milkshake? Let’s just say if there were awards for the world’s worst banana shake, this one would’ve been polishing the trophy.

Today at 16:30 i have Bought a Happy Meal and a cheeseburger, I had a double cheeseburger for free.Arrived home after 5 min walking with food in the backpack in a very warm weather ,all food was stone cold besides the nuggets which were warm ish, no ketchup dip ,and instead of my free double cheeseburger was just a normal cheeseburger.This particular McDonald's from Belmont Road is always really low in quality and service.It should change almost all staff ,this is not a service that we are going to use no longer its a waste of money

Got our order wrong 3 times!! How is that even possible? Gave me a big mac with 'no bun' or one half of a bun should I say. And gave me chicken nuggets instead of hallumi fries which my non chicken eating mum bit into?! Worst McDonald's ever. Manager was useless and didn't even offer a REFUND. And we weren't the only people queuing to complain about being given the wrong order. AVOID.

So I paid 10.00 for a donner in pitta and chips meal. With chilli sauce ! See the pics. Say no more The pitta comes separately :/ The donner was like chewing a cycle tyre ! A machine is is spinning the meat and they decided to give me some old wrinkly meat ! It was disgusting. The chilli sauce is not sauce. It’s embarrassing I will NOT recommend or go there again. I have ordered from this place several times in the past via their website and paid in cash upon arrival. I ordered tonight for my family and the food took in excess of 90 mins to arrive (Thursday evening). When it did finally arrive, the meal instructions were not all followed and there were multiple missing items. The courier wanted payment (understandably..) so I paid in full and tried to contact the restaurant..All I get is 'User Busy' for 45mins+. Shocking service and brutally disappointing to not have any option to contact the restaurant.

Not a happy person I ordered food from here last night at 19:16pm and did not receive my food I rang the restaurant multiple times to see where my order was and wasn’t getting anywhere after 2 hours of ordering so called back for a refund and still haven’t received my money so no food was delivered and no refund way received so please do not use this please

Large kebab was what I would describe as a small kebab, although this was reflected in the cheap price to be fair. Had a mixed kebab chicken was poor quality and stringy. Overall average at best

The tables and floor was dirty. Food wasn't even hot. Teenagers swearing with staff saying nothing to them. I had a staff member on 2 different times while I was eating asking me to do a review. When I said I was in the middle of eating they were rude to me and when I complained to another member of staff about them being rude they said they hadn't done anything wrong. To come over to someone in the middle of them trying to eat there food to go on about leaving a review clearly should be done at the end of the meal. Manners cost nothing. I won't be going again

Waited 20 minutes for my food ,, a colleague was rude to another in front of everyone ,, got my food got to the car and found out they missed my burgers off and gave me the wrong nuggets ,, went back spoke to a nice lady she sorted it out but then the guys doing the burgers STILL put cheese in the burgers now i can’t eat them. waist of time.

Today I visted macdonalds hereford. A worker told me ‘do you think little boys like you scare me’. She ruined my macdonalds experience and I am now switching to competitor company. She then quoted ‘ you can leave a review I do not care’ she refused me seats in macdonalds and did not let me sit by my beloved partner. I will not name her as I am a kind civilian however this experience has really upset me.

Bacon and egg mcmuffin tasted off. Swapped it for pancakes, tough as old boots. Young man behind counter good. Never had such a foul McDonalds meal.

Visited this evening after a recommendation from my father who lives locally, we did not have a great food experience. Ordered the shrimp curry, chicken Cantonese style, chips and prawn crackers. The chips were the best part of the meal. The shrimp curry had no body to it, was watery and only had shrimp and onion very boring and bland. The chicken was not hot and tasted a few days old as did the prawn crackers. Unfortunately we are only in the area for today and we're very disappointed.

Staff were rude and lethargic who priorities delivery drivers rather than collection customers- therefore we ended up waiting 20 minutes. When we came home the fish was such bad quality that It was basically disintegrated. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible price. Never again Mr Chips- a truly awful experience!

Absolutely awful. I ordered haddock and chips and my husband had cod and chips. The chis could have been cooked a little longer as they were pale and hard. The batter was pale and soggy and raw and floury once opened. The fish itself although large was again uncooked. This meal only had one star because it was hot, although mine ended I in the bin. I would have returned it but we live 4miles outside Hereford and it would have meant driving back into town and finding a parking space. Needless to say I won’t be returning.

Had a just eat order and it seem driver was late so mr chips delivered it himself to platform 3 of train station. I had tight turn around 10mins so this was really appreciated. Excellent thanks

Writing on my partners behalf but he had just been to gallon to get a large kebab, battered sausage and curry sauce. They gave him a regular kebab and forgot the rest of his order, so my partner said about the missing items the staff said that he didn’t ask for a battered sausage and curry sauce even customers had said that he did order them. They then gave him the correct order but not the right size kebab again 🙄. The staff member that went to make another one wasn’t wearing gloves, sneezed on his had and proceeded to make the food without washing his hands so my partner just asked for a refund. They were all very rude about it. None of the staff was wearing gloves which made me think, I’ve never seen them wear gloves or wash their hands when I’ve been in there.

Unfortunately we didn’t have the best meal, nothing was fresh, the batter on the fish was just not nice, chewy hard , the chips were a mush together, we were hungry but I just couldn’t eat it, I have had some good takeaways before so hopefully they will sort this out.

I've been using the golden galleon for decades, I've never had a bad meal. Steak and kidney pies are delicious as are the chips. Curry sauce is excellent. The staff are polite and you can buy a cone of chips for 1.20p!

Just got a take away and as you can see from the pictures the pita/naan bread has got blue mould on this is not acceptable. If I was able to come back and return it I would. Will not be coming back again. And you can't pass this as food at all you need to get a grip!!!

Waited over 2 hours they keep saying on way and food didn’t even turn up was really hungry too and looking forward to it, they didn’t even call to say it wasn’t coming so stayed awake till gone 1am waiting for it kept calling but they wouldn’t answer after they answer ones and said was on its way absolutely ridiculous

Has now extended and has a separate coffee shop part. Contact free self order machine but also does still offer till option. Nice touch that you can build your own breakfast which works out reasonably priced, however it was a little tasteless unfortunately 😕. Plenty of parking and seating.

Rubbish full vegan breakfast. Food was cold, minimal and tomatoes were cheap tinned. It cost £7 which was extortionate for the quality and price and I was told I couldn't have more than two tomato ketchup sachets without paying more which is ridiculous! Also tables were filthy

Paid at the robot, told to take a card for service, waited & then told “not available for drinks!” Whilst waiting I asked a young lad if he wouldn’t mind giving the table a wipe, he looked at me & walked off! He returned & gave it a begrudging wipe and sloped off- never said a word! Top class customer service

Visited the cafe 3 times now, food is always nice however there are some rude staff. One member flat out told me no when I asked for something on the menu without any reason, and another occasion a women had a go at my partner for filling his milkshake to the top. I will say there was one nice lady who brought our food out on the last occasion who was very pleasant. Whenever we ask for sauce we get given 1 sachet and ask for some more then we only get 1 sachet at a time... I don’t understand why you wouldn’t invest in more sauce pots as you clearly need them, my partner had to buy tomato sauce from Morrison’s as got sick of asking for more! Don’t think we will be coming back.

Breakfast is tasty but the eggs were so watery that the hash brown, toast and bacon all tasted of watery egg. The scrambled egg came out very cold so sent it back. The table next to mine had plates stacked up waiting to be cleared and cleaned and it remained that way until after I left. I won't be coming back.

Delivery was 30 minutes late called them up and had shocking customer service. Food was dry and cold. Chicken was unpleasant and flavourless. Kebabs were vile covered in “sweet chillie sauce” but tasted more like a hot sauce. The pitta was unopenable. Do not waste ur money or your time ordering from here. Not happy at all.

I ordered my usual chicken supreme which was lovely. My partner had the double chicken burger, which he also enjoyed. Fast forward a few hours and we are both severely vomiting and having diarrhoea. Severe cramps were not pleasant. To say we won't be ordering from here again is an understatement, which is a shame. 4 days later and neither of us are 100%

Orders being cancelled without communication. The only contact number is apparently invalid, so you can't find out what's going on. The app is telling me the food has been delivered, when nothing has arrived.

Delivery order, mixed kebab, red chicken was disgusting and under cooked. Pitta bread and donar meet ok but no salad and no way to order it on website. Very disappointing, most of it went in the bin

Oh dear, I hate to write a negative review but our fish and chips were so so disappointing. The fish was so dry and the chips luke warm and greasy. The fish must have been cooked ages before serving. £21 for two ‘small’ portions of mediocre fish and chips which were for a special occasion.

I called here on Tuesday afternoon/early evening for some chips but decided when I was ordering that I would have a fish as well. Both were excellent and very enjoyable. I will certainly visit again.

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Frozen fish that was overcooked so much and dry as a bone. The batter was a mixture of soggy and rock hard as it had been in the hot display for I don’t know how long. The chips had also been cooked in oil past it’s best. £15 too!!!! Mushy peas were ok which were pretty much all I ate. Wont be back.

I've had several kebabs from this shop and think they've been great. My partner enjoys the mix meat kebabs and the fish and chips. The reason for only 4* and not 5* is because for me there is just something wrong with the cooking of the chips. They are either over cooked, under cooked or just not very good. Maybe the type of potato is what is letting it down. I also believe the price is great considering the other types of establishments in Hereford charge far more for what you get.

As far as fast food places go, I think this is the best in Hereford. Food is always cooked to order and the order is always correct. Special mention to Josephine who is always amazing and looks after us every time.

Really mediocre food considering the prices. Nearly a fiver for a fish cake that was so mushy it was falling apart. Chips that were like cardboard and sausage that was full of nasty processed bits. Spent over 30 quid for two people so I wouldn't personally order again. I mean it wasn't absoloutly awful, the chicken strips were nice but it's way too pricey for food of that poor quality.

Staying in the area for a couple of days. This was the nearest place on Google maps so we thought we'd give it a go. When we arrived there was loads of free parking. Our fish & chips were freshly cooked to order. The chap serving was very friendly and had a chat with everyone who ordered without slowing himself down at all. The batter on the fish was a little soft but apart from that the fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were excellent. Highly recommended.

Not great since it was taken over a few years ago, expensive for what you get, and the chips looked like they hadn't seen any hot oil, unlike the sausage that looked like it had been up the crematorium. Used to be my go to chippy if I didn't want to go into town, along with the Chinese next door that is awful now since the old owners left there as well, that's when it can be bothered to open.

Visit every week when possible. They are all lovely & cheerful and the fish and chips never dissapoint. (Well the fish is not too happy about the outcome but you can't please everybody).

I'm not sure that the bottom comment is correct because I have always found the chips very tasty and fresh just like the rest of the food and I go there on a regular basis. Plus the shop can't be dirty as the shop has a 5* hygiene rating.

I can say with all certainty that the City Gates Chip Shop has had its issues. Now the people manning the fort are nice enough but this did not stop me from complaining to Hereford Council about noise permeating from their antiquated extractor fan a short while ago. It was horrendous and vibrated throughout the building like a diesel generator. The inspectors went in to check out the source of the noise and as residents above we got the update. They found the noise but also found it to be extremely lacking and ordered them to clean up or risk further action. This is the truth of the matter. The fan was looked at and is a little better but is still not healthy and only today I have taken a photograph of the rear of the store, which is covered in wood chip and debris from rear door maintenance and or replacement. It's just been left there on the pavement. In many respects it's similar to a staff member pouring fat down the public drain near to the said service door, which I witnessed one afternoon coming out of my home. Besides this their bin stinks of rot in warm weather for it's not maintained as it should be in a residential area. This of course is all out of public view and testament to how the food is possibly treated before serving. Now they might be reasonable people in certain areas of life who are making a go of it but their methods of preparation and standards are seriously questionable. Having said this many of us still have stuff to clean up in life - this I know. My only hope is that they’ll get to that place where standards are what we come to expect of a food outlet that can be spoken of highly as opposed to complained about, which is currently the case. P.S - the two stars are in recognition of the virtues they do have....

Visited here tonight for food and all I can say is that is was absolutely fantastic. The chips were the best I've tasted in Hereford for a long long time. Well done to the staff there, keep up the great food.
