Decent experience and decent food, the highlights being the desserts, prices were on the higher side of average. The staff were nice and friendly, helpful and welcoming. My only small issue was the food was a little slow at coming out and a start came a long time after the others. But not a massive issue, it wouldn't stop us coming back.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Driven past this place a few times and always thought it looked a bit grim and tired. Inside it's fully modern and hotel like with a bar/lobby area, restaurant, drinkiyarea and some outdoor spacing. The staff were great and very welcoming. The food was very nice and menu had enough choice for all. Would recommend and most likely will be returning in the future.

The pub is absolutely lovely! The service was exceptional, very friendly and supportive. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced! I’ve come all the way here from Australia visiting relatives and I enjoyed every minute spending time with them in your venue!

Visited the restaurant to use the birthday offer sent via email and was really impressed! The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive and they also brought over a surprise birthday ice cream which was lovely! Would definitely recommend

Beautifully cooked food. Full of flavour. 4 stars just because my spuds weren't particularly warm, they did replace all the veg though. Wonderful waiting staff, smiley and polite. Accommodating for dietary requirements, and double checking with foods once ordered. The dining area was quiet even when fairly full. Beautifully designed interior. Ben

Absolute hidden gem! Our server Marc was a fantastic host - as were all the service team - the Spanish Fiesta Evening was a smash and each course beautifully prepared - 5 stars all round!

Really enjoyed our visit to Ego tonight. The food was excellent as always. And we had really brilliant service from Marc. He was helpful, attentive, good with our child, and kind enough to ensure mum’s birthday was celebrated without us even asking! We couldn’t ask for more.

We used to frequent here when it was the Oyster & Otter. The carpark was FULL so had to park off site, but it's not because it's small... just many people inside. We were sat at our table and told to order at the bar when we were ready... considering we had to do that, there were only 2 staff on the bar, so the service was slightly delayed in getting drinks (which we had to pour ourselves, because we ordered nonalcoholic beers). The food was nice... not amazing, just nice.... there was plenty of it. I think for the prices of the food, that table service would have been within that price, as other establishments who have relatively the same price bracket offer this.... which also means no queues at the bar area too. So it was ok/nice, but i wouldn't come again. Other people will love it, and clearly do.. the place was packed....

Really tasted tender food. I had lamb roast and it was tender and juicy. My wife had cheese and onion pie which is exclusive to north of England. It was Sunday night and there was a party type on right hand side so was slightly loud. Would come back again

We had a family lunch on 28th December and it was really super! Very tasty and plentiful portions. Staff and service excellent and an ideal spacious area was delegated to us. Will definitely return!

Bobbed in for a late lunch. Extensive menu, including the September Salt and Pepper menu. My husband chose from the gluten free menu which offered a wide choice. The food was amazing and flavoursome. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff.

The food here is just incredible! A bit pricey but the quality and portions are worth the value. Drinks a bit on the dear side but hasn't stopped us coming back over and over! We frequent the hunters in Preston regularly, and as we were out, Blackburn way decided we'd stop by the Foundry. Had a spot of lunch. Stephen and the team were great very attentive and the food as always was amazing. Menu the same would be nice to see a change once in a while. Although didn't get the chance to check out the specials board. Would definitely recommend and very much worth the visit. Lovely decorated place too. Very reasonably priced.

This is an upmarket, destination site and justifies its stance with its menu, ambience, quality and value. The house burger was routine but fine and the fish pie was really very good. I'd have liked a little more veg with the pie and the fries, although skin-on premium, were not homemade or otherwise distinctive. Would we go again, if we were in the area - definitely.

A lunch time stop off, which was very pleasant. My wifes pick on the way to our overnight hotel,cos she liked the name, and a good choice it was. Good selection of cask ales of the region and very tasty they were too. We both had burgers mine was a pork belly burger and it was lovely albeit a bit messy and my wife had a seafood burger which I was a bit jealous of. Lots of information about the area and a explanation of the pubs name and past landlord where the place gets its name, Billycock was a surprise to the both of us. Nicely done out pub with various sections to sit at. Service was friendly with a certain charming ambivalent pace, but no complaints on our side. It was a lunchtime service so atmosphere wasn't quite there but the place was still busy, I would think in the evening the place would be atmospheric. A bit on the pricey side but I seem to say that everywhere these days. I would definitely return next time I was up that way.

Again poor service and average food… what has happened to this place, it used to be amazing ! Decided to give it another try after not actually getting food at all last time. Not a lot of tables occupied, staff stood around chatting, looked bemused when I said we had bee waiting for over 30 mins from finishing the starter, we did get offered a drink but I would of rather had good service and food Starters were nice, the burger was very over done and my salad was dripping in vinegar ( not in the description )

This used to be a favourite of ours but we are unlikely to return. Our favourite starter, cauliflower fritters has been removed from the menu. For a pub that has aspirations to be a quality country inn, serving frozen chips is an absolute turn off. If you want a drink before your meal, don’t let them take you to your table. You will wait ages for the drink to arrive.

There was a lovely roaring fire as we walked in. The quiche was absolutely delicious and when we asked for chips in place of potato salad the staff were accomodating and helpful. The staff were very friendly, nothing we asked was too much trouble and they were happy to help. They even joined in singing happy birthday. I would highly recommend.

Went over to the Blackburn branch last minute for a birthday treat. Beautiful branch there, classic English country manor interior with Desi twist to it . Abid was fantastic looking after us throughout our dinner. Would definitely recommend this place.

I had such a wonderful experience dining here! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting — perfect lighting, great music, and a relaxed yet lively vibe. Our waiter, Akhmed, was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive without being intrusive, always checking if we needed anything and making sure our table had everything we wanted. His friendly attitude really added to the experience. The food? Simply amazing. Every dish was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. You could tell a lot of care went into every plate. Overall, everything about this restaurant — from the service to the food to the atmosphere — was exceptional. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends!

I would start by saying I been going to My Lahore in Mancetter, Leeds and even London got years so was a big fan. But Blackburn was more miss than hit. The mixed grill to share was clearly not cooked on a grill. It was pre prepared in an oven or shape fried and then put on a George Foreman style grill.. No spices, bbq sauce or charring. I would not eat it and asked for it to be taken off the bill which they did. My burger, although it was small it tasted good but the chips were the cheapest frozen brand possible. I wouldn't go out of my way to get there, it is a fair bit from the main whalley range area.

Three disabled parking spaces and disabled access. I just ordered a mutton karahi with chapattis, a good gauge of any South Asian eatery. Some of the meat wasn't too good but this was dealt with very professionally and a replacement arrived swiftly. This was acceptable and had a decent flavour but it lacked in green chillies, the chapattis were decent.

Walk in service only, no table bookings taken. Turned up at 18.30pm, car park already almost full. Started to panic a little. Was greeted warmly and informed we had a wait of 5 minutes. Every waiter smiled and spoke to us, never ignored. We was served by abdi, warm friendly pesronality and attentive to our needs. Our children (7 & 14) were treated amazingly. Children's menu available. The menu is varied and not just a typical Indian menu, Chinese, English and vegetarian options. The food we ordered was so tasty and plentiful. Dum byriani dry baked with pastry lid with a side of curry sauce. Wow Chicken byriani so so tasty. Chicken stir fry with fries. Smashed burger with peri peri fries, eldest really enjoyed. Chicken stirfry with noodles, youngest loved this. Naan Breads and paratha flavoursome. Definitely did not leave feeling hungry. With it being an Asian restaurant, no alcohol is served. Would 100% return in the future. Thank you.

I planned an overnight visit to Blackburn and searched for something nice to eat at night. Glad I chose this restaurant. Staff offer a friendly greeting and I was immediately shown to a table. I had the Kingston chicken and jerk fries and a lovely margarita style cocktail. Bill was a mere £19.50. Only drawback was they refused to take Scottish notes. lol. Luckily I had my card. It’s a common thing so I wasn’t bothered. Recommend this restaurant if you love spicy food.

Good food, but pricey for what is effectively a sprinkle of jerk seasoning you can buy from places like Tesco. The waitress didn't appear very welcoming, even though we came at a time where there was just one other group of people - kind of had a fed up attitude 🤷‍♂️ Atmosphere is nice, with good views onto the cathedral square.

Came for lunch today and this place did not disappoint!!! Absolute legend waiter who also made my beautiful pineapple dacaris was so polite, welcoming and had mad skills with a bottle!! He's a credit to you!! Food was amazing I had the Kingston coconut coated chicken it was amazing!! Will most definitely be coming back 😀

First time visit for a meal before a concert at the Cathedral. The atmosphere inside is great. Friendly and welcoming. The decor inside and music makes it feel authentic. The service from Luke was great, he was polite, attentive and happy to have a natter. The food was lovely, plenty of vegetarian options too. The menu is very spicy 🌶️ but there are options for milder tastes. Overall experience was great and will be returning.

Lit up from the outside this venue is very welcoming. Soft ambient lighting indoors always gives a romantic feel drawing you to go inside. Also the promise of 2 for 1 cocktails might have something to do with it. I have eaten here a few times now and it lived up to expectations in every way. Inside the lighting does seem quite dim but adds to the atmosphere and the decor is rustic Caribbean and this makes you imagine you are in a different country. Everything is brightly coloured and fun. I have been fortunate enough never to have to book in advance but have seen it both very busy and also quite at other times. The table sauces look scary hot but do compliment the food incredibly. Even the toilets represent a beach hut feel. Food has never been fast to come out no matter how busy it is but worth the wait when it does. Also Jamaican Red Stripe lager on tap for as true Caribbean feel. Did I mention the cocktails. Food wise I have tried the Jerk chicken breast and half Jerk chicken. Both made with ghost chilli pepper sauce. Yes it's hot but you can still taste the flavours. Looking forward to my next visit.

I keep dreaming about the food. Absolutely spot on the flavours are spot on. The prawns were incredible I wish I'd ordered 2 portions and had them as a main. We visited on a Sunday afternoon so it was very quite but that suited.

This place was okay overall. The food was nice I will agree, but not the best that I've had. Now I'm a fan of garlic in food, that's for sure. We got garlic naan and garlic mushroom masala. These were doused in more garlic than I knew even existed in the world. All vampires within a 40 mile radius were warded off. I ate an entire multi pack of gum and still the garlic smell emanated off me for the next 24 hours. Just a warning to you all. It's not a bad restaurant at all. The service is great and the inside is alright. It's just okay for me. Also, garlic.

I had the butter chicken and mixed grill at Kebabish, and both were absolutely incredible! The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and full of flavor—perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. The mixed grill was sizzling hot, tender, and packed with smoky goodness. Everything tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend if you're looking for delicious, authentic food that hits the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back! Was there with my family this weekend , they offered their new menu card & omg my craving for street food was satisfied. I loved their malayi boti & pani poori. It was too good you hardly find a good pani poori in uk. But I’m glad I know where to go next time to fulfill my desi cravings.

Food is still some of the best in Blackburn setting the standards for others to follow. The only niggle is the prices for instance purchased a karahi chicken on its own is £12.95 ( £13 ) no naan no rice no chips with that that's my only gripe and therefore will be looking elsewhere for my curries from now on .

Where do I start....I was blown away by the four course vegan plant based menu priced at £12 the catering students at Blackburn College, created, cooked and served at Scholars. I and my husband went for lunch and the whole experience far exceeded our expectations, the food was amazing, beautifully presented, cooked, seasoned and was an absolute delight to eat. This is accomplished, confident cooking and yet the chefs are only aged 16 to 19 and their talents put to shame many of the places I have dined, where the vegan food has been a token gesture, an after thought of just putting any old rubbish on the plate. Scholars vegan food was well thought out, creative, exciting and cooked with passion. These are our chefs of the future, how lucky are we. I had a chat with student chefs Imogen and Gem (who made our mushroom dish & dessert respectively) who were so enthusiastic about their cooking. The front of house team were equally as good, serving the dishes and making sure we had drinks etc and checking if we liked the food. Credit is due to their mentor Head Chef Dave and Restaurant Manager Karen for introducing a vegan plant based menu. I cannot wait to go back.

We had our Christmas meal here today from Arts 2 Heal. It was fantastic, every course was simply perfect!! The friendly staff were so lovely and made us all feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Defo recommend. Thank you!!

You won't regret a visit to this amazing restaurant - you will need to plan in advance, so don't expect to walk in. Do expect top class service, beautiful food and a relaxed environment. Please don't forget to leave a tip - it means an awful lot to the students, and seeing as the 4 course menu is less than £15 a head it really would be rude not to.

Review of scholars at Blackburn college. I have absolutely no idea how this place does such amazing food for so little prices. Coming up currently as one of the best places in Lancashire and no wonder. Always busy you need to book. Went for his indoors birthday treat today. Catered for us perfectly we are gluten free. Curried cauliflower soup with pumpkin seeds for him and chicken and thyme pate with blueberry jelly for me with homemade GF bread. Wild mushroom and pea risotto for me and a brisket red wine shepherds pie for him. To finish the most beautiful lemon posset with cinder toffee and all sorts of sweet surprises. All for the princely sum of £8.50 for three courses just wow!! A very very reasonable Sauvignon The wines are great prices £12 a bottle!!! If you don’t try here your missing out on amazing food created by talented young students and superb value for money. It was wonderful! Cannot wait to go again!!

Cannot fault a single thing. The setting, the table service, the food, all impeccable. An absolute pleasure to have eaten what these students made for us, and we will most definitely be returning again soon.

Nice place, the food was very nice, a little pricey but nothing unordinary. Perfect for kids as there is a little soft play joined (bare in mind, you have to pay for it). Didn't have to wait long for food even though it was a busy Saturday tea time. As we were staying in the premiur inn next door, we also came for breakfast, which didn't disappoint either. All in all, a nice pub with tasty food.

Visited with my family today, Wednesday 6th, on my final day before heading back to university, hoping for a nice meal — but unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience. Our starters arrived overcooked to the point of being inedible, and when the mains eventually came, they were missing the extra items I’d paid for. I was refunded by a staff member named Olivia — the only one who seemed to care about service — and she assured me the extras would follow. They did, but were undercooked. I barely touched the meal. I then tried to order drinks at the bar, but stood there for around 10 minutes while four different staff members ignored me, despite it being quiet, as it was 2pm on a Wednesday. Olivia was busy with another customer, otherwise I imagine she would’ve helped. As someone who also works in hospitality, I found the overall service careless and the kitchen standards poor. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be advising friends and family to avoid this place too.

Just had a terrific meal here. Got to be honest, I wasn't expecting the quality meal I've just eaten. Absolutely humbled by it. Had the mixed grill and everything on the plate was good quality, really well cooked and piping hot. Staff were all really friendly and approachable, and there was a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely visit a Brewers Fayre again.

Went for lunch, 4 adults and 3 kids, but they no longer do any lunch food, like sandwiches, pannis or jacket pots. Had to also feed my boy afterwards and his meal was just not good value. The lad waiter told us that the service was slow as he was just not good at carrying out food... seemed a strange admission..

Food is ok here as a family pit stop- but nothing extra special. Cleanliness is standard. I wouldn’t say the play area is clean at all. My daughter always has pure black socks after 5 minutes in there- however she loves it and entertains the children whilst eating and talking!

A well placed pub, especially for meals. Have meal deal specials everyday, making this a must for cost conscious folk and families. Refillable soft drinks for the kids and of course the play area. Stop here weekly for a meal.

I’ve had an excellent experience dining at Thira Restaurant. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The food was delicious and authentic. As a malayalee myself, it was such a beautiful experience to have a taste of home even while being so far away. If you’re craving real Kerala food or just curious to explore South Indian cuisine, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be coming back! ❤️😊

Came here for lunch, we had the vegetarian thali accompanied by spiced tea. The food was outstanding, the ocra curry was so flavoursome, I enjoyed every dish but that was the stand out. I also very much enjoyed the salad. The little pot of spiced rice pudding was gorgeous too. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. The price was also fantastic at £9.50! I wish I lived closer!

Such an underrated restaurant. Myself and my wife went at lunch, but had the normal menu . The food was some of the best Indian cuisine I have had in a long time. A must try for everyone..big thumbs up

You’ll be hard pushed to find better tasting Indian food in the area with emphasis on South Indian cuisine. Excellent vegetarian options and lovely fish and shellfish options. The staff at Blackburn are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We always have a bottle of red wine and always happy with our selection. The variety of dishes is a highlight and we try something different each time. Don’t be afraid of the Tapioca main course it’s like mash potato on Speed and served with a tasty fish curry. I’d make a point of advising staff if you want less chili heat in a dish.

Superb levels of deep flavours. These dishes are not quick flash fried food. The food is treated with the care and respect you would hope more restaurants could manage but often don’t. The uniqueness of these South Indian flavours are way above the competition in this area We loved our first visit.. will come back often

Visited this South Indian restaurant in Blackburn which serves decent south Indian food. I ordered 1 pint of Budweiser Beer, 1 masala dosa, a portion of appam (2pcs) and Kerala Kozhi Roast which was Chicken in semi dry gravy. I loved the dosa more than everything else. The total bill was £20. Being a Saturday the restaurant was pretty empty but worth a visit.

Absolutely lovely surroundings and view. The food was quality. I had peri peri chicken on firecracker rice, which was lovely. The onion rings were amazing. My partner had cheese and onion pie, chips, and veg. Although he enjoyed it, there wasn't that much of it to be fair. A handful of chips and an average pie. The plate was made up with the veg. The service was great, and the location is beautiful.

Very nice community owned country pub. Traditional style inside, good beer, very friendly welcome. Dogs catered for incl biscuits and water. We didn’t eat this time. Amazing view to Darwen Tower and parking at the back.

We called in on spec for a meal after hospital visiting! We hadn’t checked prior regarding Gluten Free but were delighted on arrival that they did offer GF meals. We grabbed a drink in the bar and within 5 minutes we had a table in the restaurant. The atmosphere in the pub and restaurant was so friendly and the setting perfect! Gorgeous views over Belthorne and beyond! Back to the food - we ordered the halloumi fries and Garlic Mushrooms both GF and they were fantastic! I then ordered the GF Fish & Chips. After a short while the lady in the restaurant apologised for the wait due to the fact a completely separate fryer was being heated up and a special area cleaned for my allergy! Best news to hear ever and certainly didn’t feel we waited over long. When the food came it was absolutely delicious: I would go as far to say it was the best F&C I’ve had since being GF. Couldn’t believe it was GF! This place is a hidden Gem and I would recommend to any GF sufferers out there! We will certainly be back!

We popped out for tea for a quick burger and a pint for £10 and wasn’t expecting much for that price at all and we were pleasantly surprised! I had the Peri chicken burger and this was so succulent and juicy and quite generous in size. Not at all spicy but so so tasty! My husband had the cheeseburger and he said that was great too. Not a man of many words 😂 and the fries were just that. We did order a side of onion rings between us and although gigantic, it was more batter than onion so I’d leave that next time. We could choose any pint (good ones included) and not the average usual ones. We had San Miguel, Moretti and a Thatchers Blood Orange, so definitely a good selection to choose from. We sat opposite the kitchen and chefs were busy yet calm and well organised. The waiter maybe could have done with some help as it was busy and he seemed to be dashing all over the place but it kind of looked like he was enjoying that and it wasn’t a problem. We cannot wait to go back and try items off the main menu and I will definitely be back for the burger and I never order a burger🤣

It is a lovely semi-rural countryside pub that is community owned. There are various nights planned and, during certain months, dog shows and children's fun days. There is a lovely restaurant inside, with fantastic facilities. What sets this pub aside from others is the outstanding views of the northwest, reaching as far as Blackpool Tower on the horizon. The staff are lovely and it is very well run.

Olde world pub. Nice friendly atmosphere. Very welcoming girl behind the bar. Food menu very small. Portions small. Variety of food menu is Lacking. Prices for food higher than normal. They need to urgently re-do their menu with nice homely reasonably priced selection.

Mixed bag this one, we got a tawa and chana dal. Chicken Tikka pieces were quite dry. Lamb curry we chose was quite cheesy and fatty. Naan was very nice and fresh and buttery, chapati was quite hard and crispy unlike the chapatis you'd expect. Lamb chops were very nice and nicely Tikka. Pillau rice appeared to be ordinary rice and quite greasy. The service was very good and staff were very attentive and looked after us, maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, we've always been impressed before.

Nice looking restaurant. Ample parking space and the food isn't too bad. The Lamb Chops were not the best as they toughest I've ever had and I wouldn't be surprised if it was mutton and not lamb. The curry wasn't the tastiest compared to other popular places but nonetheless it was good enough. Service wise it's hard to find anyone when you need them, in fact I had to go looking for someone when I wanted to order additional things. My worst experience was when I ordered a takeaway to take home with us when we finish and to our surprise the waiter came up with the takeaway food and the bill too without checking if we wanted any desserts or tea/cofgee. As a result of that we decided not to stay for desserts. Visited with family and overall everyone enjoyed it. They need to sort out the service side before I can give 5 stars. Will definitely visit again. There's also a prayer room with wudu facilities which is really good and makes it easier to perform your Salah on time without having to rush the food. Definitely worth a try.

First time came here with family and we had an amazing time and the service was just spot on credit to Asif who was just an incredible host. He went out his way to look after us. I will definitely be coming here again and the food was absolutely amazing too could not fault a single thing. It was really busy and to have the level of great service we had when it was jam packed along with tasty yummy l food what more do you want. Can’t wait to come here again.

Friendly staff, food was nice and quite a variety offered. It was quite cold in there though and we had to kept requesting to have the heating turned up.

New Review May 2022 1 Star: I have to say i am very disappointed came for a table of three and was told we could seat upstairs as it was very busy and they got rid or half the tables downstairs to do cleaning. Why they doing that on a busy weekend day im not sure. Lady did tell us there was a party happening upstairs so would be noisy. We went upstairs and the noise was loud but it didn't really bother us at all. What bothered us was that they put on a dirty table and on the seats and table was broken glass. Which we told the waiter who just flicked it off the table straight onto us. Secondly we were sat at the table and got no menu given to us for a good 5 to 10 minutes when staff upstairs were just stood there doing nothing but watching the magician. After this we decided to leave and left the restuarant, this is very disappointing to say last few times we had good experience and was looking to make this our regular indian spot, but you have let me and my family down who traveled 1 hour for this. Ended up going to Raj's just 5 minutes away and had amazing time. Sort your stuff out or the customers won't stay around as theres plenty other options in blackburn Old Review 4 Stars: Came to eat on sunday was difficult to find at first as the maps take you to someones house i have updated the map location so nobody will get lost again haha. I think that was the old location of the place and now they have moved into the bottom floor of the woodlands building. Parking was very good as there was plenty. The restuarant decor was beautiful, staff was very friendly, owner seemed very caring too, was quite busy for a sunday night, i had this restuarant on my want to go list for nearly 1 year and finally i come and i was not disappointed. The food was amazing, the samosa chaat starter was superb, the chicken karai was excellent, my sister's butter chicken was a bit too spicy but mistakes happen it is fine. My little brother loved all his food, the mocktails were very nice too, i just wish i could have tried the red one my brother got but the restuarant ran out of ice to make mocktails with, which is understandable as it used to happen at the place i worked at years ago haha, we were moved tables to help accomadate some extra guests on a big party's table, but that was fine by us as we were asked nicely and on top of that the owner gave us 1 free mocktail as a gesture of thanks. Food and drink prices were pretty decent, shame i was full very quickly when eating my main meal haha, hopefully when i come next time with my cousin i will be able to finish my food. Only reason i have left a 4 star instead of a 5 star review is because of how hard it was to flag down someone to take our orders and clear our food and stuff or get the bill, but i did see a help wanted sign so maybe they just understaffed, hopefully will be better next time i come and then i will update with 5 stars. First time I came here when my brother had his walima in the upstairs room, I just fell in loveeeee with the chicken tikka and kebabs 😭😍 A few months later I brought my friend over to try the food and I cannot express how accommodating and lovely the staff are. The food is delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Amazing place and food, will recommend to everyone!

Roomali is a traditional and classical Indian restaurant. If you love your curry’s and biryanis, then this restaurant in Blackburn is a place to try out. Plenty seating is available over two floors. The decor of this restaurant makes it feel homely with modern wallpaper, black diamond studded chairs and carpet flooring. Not something you see in your everyday restaurant. For our starters, we ordered the Prawn Tempura. These are lightly battered succulent prawns, coated in Japanese breadcrumbs and served with a sweet chilli relish. We were served with only three large prawns with some salad. We did like the prawns however. For our mains, we ordered the Roomali Special Biryani. This is described as the finest basmati rice cooked alongside tender chunks of lamb, chicken, and king prawns. It is fused with Roomali’s special spices and garnished with fried onions. We did enjoy this dish, however it was a small portion for what you pay for. We also tried the delicious Karahi Gosht. To truly extract the flavours of India, the meat of your choice is stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, chillies and garlic. We had this with freshly baked hot naan and this was our favourite dish of the evening. There is prayer room available upstairs and also a small car park. Roomali is HMC certified, so you can be at ease. They also accept table bookings. If you’re in Blackburn and love Classic Indian food, then it is worth shortlisting Roomali. Our Rating: 7/10

A nice wetherspoons located in the heart of Blackburn Town Centre. Very spacious inside and nice and clean with tables cleaned after each person has finished. Table Ordering via the app means you needn't have to go to the bar to place an order. The free refills on the coffee is also good. You could end up wasting an entire afternoon just drinking coffee and chatting with the locals. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been before.

Called in for something to eat and I soon regretted it. (See photos). Ordered everything through the app, and it was easier than standing around at an overcrowded bar. Although it was Friday when I called in so excuses can be made for it being so busy that we couldn't get a table for a while. The "regulars" are in an interesting bunch, found myself knee deep in conversation in the ladies toilets with an elderly lady telling me all about her A&E recent visit. At my table I was almost set upon for looking at someone - I don't think that you're meant to look forwards in this weatherspoons it's frowned upon by the regulars. The service was fast despite the staff being rushed off their feet, unfortunately the food just wasn't edible.

Enjoyed a quiet burger by myself to get out of the rain. Good size location with secluded booths or open areas. Food the usual good standard, hot and quick, staff welcoming and locals chatty.

The best pub in Blackburn town centre, should be in the Good Beer Guide. Real ale on top form and great value at around £2.50 a pint. Great value food, a large choice on the breakfast menu until 12, with unlimited hot drinks available all day, the curry club includes a drink as do all other items on the main menu from 11.30 am. Very friendly and helpful staff. Now with an outdoor beer garden under the trees near the Cathedral. (Weather permitting)

The place was nice but noisy. I ordered my usual, but my how the portions had shrunk. A few chips and very thin ham, with barely 2 pieces. It was nice the eggs were done just right. I paid £7.90 and came home feeling robbed and still hungry.

I used to be a regular of the Glasgow branch of Akbar's. This one is newer and even more extravagant. The service provided was second to none, and the interior was just beautiful. The food was delicious too. I love that the prices are reasonable even though they've gotten so much bigger than when I used to go during my uni days. Thoroughly recommend a visit. FYI they also have their own car park round the corner which is useful.

First time here since becoming Akbar's from a previous restaurant. Excellent place for an evening meal out. Everything from service to food to facilities such as toilets, etc, were all very good. Couldn't find any reason to fault. Portion sizes for main meals were bigger than I was expecting, so much so that I took the rest home. Would recommend and would definitely go again.

We were welcomed at the door, which gave a promising first impression. It was a Sunday evening, and we were seated fairly quickly; no complaints there. However, the table was somewhat dirty, and a few of the utensils weren’t entirely clean, which was disappointing given the setting. The food itself was okay. The chicken and lamb karhi stood out, especially when paired with naan, and the chicken nambali was enjoyable. That said, the overall quality didn’t quite match the price point, and it left us questioning the value for money. One noticeable issue was the condiment presentation. The restaurant uses old Heinz ketchup bottles, but the contents clearly aren't Heinz; more like generic sachet-style ketchup in disguise. For a place that appears to position itself as classy, this kind of detail really undermines the experience. The waitstaff did check in during the meal, but their hospitality didn’t quite match the standards we’ve experienced elsewhere. They weren’t rude, just not particularly warm or attentive. All in all, it was an average dining experience. The food was decent, but not enough to make this a go-to spot for us.

Our first trip to Akbars Blackburn, and it didn't disappoint. On arrival we were promptly greeted and shown to our booth. The seating and decor are so beautiful and the booths are a great set up. Our waitress, Aleksa was so good. She was quick with the drinks and poppadoms, attentive and friendly and made sure we had what we needed. She's a great asset to the restaurant and her recommendations were appreciated. Other servers came to check we were happy and all were so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend, we will be back ❤️

The service was impeccable, Khan (our waiter) was very attentive. The food was amazing really tasty and the portion sizes were great. Considering there are great curry places already in Blackburn, Akbars are up there with the very best.

First ever visited to a Nando’s. Overall we left disappointed. It wasn’t for us and its unlikely we will visit another. Although there was nothing overtly wrong with the food for what we had it was expensive. There are places offering better quality food for less money. We were greeted upon arrival. Friendly member of staff who found us a table and explained a little of how things worked. Such as you could order at the table using the app or at the counter. Seemed a good start but this was pretty much the end of any real interaction with the staff. We ordered at the table using the QR code. In hindsight wish we had gone up to the counter to order. Had to mess about confirming e mail addresses, telephone numbers, etc. Then get my card out to set up payment. Probably would have been easier and safer to go up to the counter. Not over keen on paying for a meal in a restaurant upfront before it’s been served either but that’s a personal thing. Drinks arrived pretty quickly but £3.99 for a 330ml lemonade wasn’t cheap. No ice in the glasses. We realised afterwards that there was an ice machine up next to where you got your refillable drinks. But it was our first visit so it would have been nice to be told.. Overall it wasn’t the level of service we would expect from somewhere calling itself a restaurant. Food arrived. Our server hoped we enjoyed our meal. Certainly didn’t come across as genuine or friendly. No eye contact made. Seemed to be just going through the motions. As I said nothing major wrong with the food. The chips were just warm though not hot . Rice was far from spicy. The Garlic Churrasco Burger lacked flavour. Only tasting of the garlic on the bread it came in. It cost £15.95 with two sides. And the portions not the biggest. We had ordered 3 chicken wings with 2 sides. It cost £11.95. The wings were gone in a couple of bites. Nothing we ordered had any wow factor which would make you want to rush back. So for us it was disappointing and expensive costing us close to £48.00 with just a lemonade and sparkling water for drinks. Found the music quiet loud and, even though it wasn’t full, it was a bit hussle and bustle. Would not have liked to visit on a Saturday night but then we are getting on a bit in years and Nando’s isn’t really targeting our age group as customers. One thing we did like was there was a sink where you could go up and wash your hands. A good idea especially when you are picking up chicken to eat it. Good to see members of staff frequently washing their hands there as well. Also liked that you could help yourself to the various sauces made available in different levels of hotness. But overall Nando’s wasn’t for us. We believe you can get better quality food at more reasonable prices served in a proper restaurant atmosphere.

I'm not from the area and didn't realise my mistake until the staff couldn't find my order because we're not in Burnley 😂 The woman that served me was really understanding and helpful and sorted me my order, for which I am truly grateful, thank you so much! Overall the staff are really friendly, the restaurant itself is very clean and tidy and the food was delicious. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon. We parked up at the side of the building. Despite the poor weather on the day you can imagine this pub getting very busy in the summer months. A large outdoor seating and dining area and a bowling green at the rear. It looks bigger inside than it appears from outside with a good range of seating options. Once we were seated a number of menus were presented to us. Quite an impressive range of options to choose from. This including a pizza menu and Specials of the Day. For starters we ordered a Garlic and Cheese Ciabatta. This was only £5.00. We got 4 fairly large pieces. Piping hot and very tasty. It was more than ample to have as a starter to share between two. I chose from the 12 for 12 option on the midweek menu. A choice of 12 dishes all priced at £12.00 available Monday to Thursday. I went with the Sausage and Mash with garden peas. I also ordered some Onion rings as a side order. Most sides seemed to be priced at £3.50 which is reasonable as many places now charging upwards of £5.00 or more for anything extra on the side. My fellow diner ordered the Steak and Ale pie from the Classics on the main menu priced at £15.00. Have to say we were impressed with our mains. Mine was a decent sized portion with 3 Cumberland sausages. Not the biggest sausages I have to admit but tasty and succulent. The Steak Pie looked delicious. A large portion full of chunks of steak. An excellent quantity of thick cut chips. Nice to see chips served on the plate and not in a cone or a small container to disguise the measly portions some places offer. Everything was piping hot. We did notice some of the meals going to other tables and the portions on all the plates looked impressive. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my onion rings. A good portion and some decent sized rings but I think they had been fried in oil that was too hot or they had been refried. They looked a little burned and the batter just broke up as you bit into them. In hindsight I should really have said something at the time rather than at the end of the meal. Had they been more expensive I probably would have done. Even though I was getting full I wanted to try a dessert. A choice of 8 desserts on the menu and all reasonably priced at £5.95. The crumble of the day was Apple and Blackcurrant with a choice of custard or ice cream. Wasn’t over keen on the crumble topping but the filling was a different matter. Again a very decent portion. Loads of fruit and very enjoyable. Service was friendly and efficient. Any questions we had about items on the menu were answered to our satisfaction. Based on our visit would have no hesitation recommending this establishment for a lunch time meal. Impressive range of options. Bigger than average portions and at prices that are very reasonable. I have to say we found the food we had cheaper than many similar places we have visited recently without sacrificing the quality of the food.

Absolutely amazing. We had a family birthday celebration here for 100 people. Julie organised the event and suggested a BBQ on the large terrace behind the pub overlooking the bowling green. It was wonderful. Nathan the chef BBQ-ed outside and the whole kitchen team were fantastic. The food was delicious. Myles ensured the whole event ran smoothly and that everyone was happy and well fed. Cain and the bar team were brilliant and made sure that drinks were flowing. Our talented musicians were easily accommodated on the terrace and performed beautifully. Nothing was too much trouble for the Butlers team. All requests were met with a smile. I had so many comments on how great the food was, how lovely the staff were and what a fabulous setting it was. Luckily the sun shone, but the build up was stress free, as Julie had a contingency plan in case it didn’t. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue. So very happy that our local is well and truly back and better than ever.

Enjoyed our lunch here on a rainy Tuesday. I booked a table and was glad I did, the place was bustling; great to see when other establishments in the area are struggling. Our food was great, nice big portions with lovely chunky chips and moderately priced. Service was spot on, no complaints at all. The afternoon tea looks especially nice (and reasonably priced too) so I look forward to returning to try that out with the family.

First visit today since the reopening for Sunday lunch. Very warm welcome and plenty of room at our table. Our main server was Cain. He was a delight. ❤️ Very friendly, knowledgeable, and lovely to our elderly Dad. We all decided on Sunday roast. One beef, one lamb, one mixed meat, and 2 vegetarian. All served very efficiently by Millie. Very impressed. All came with a large Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes, and lots of gravy. We all had our own dish of veg, which consisted of cauliflower and brocoli cheese and carrot and swede mash. All the food was very hot and very tasty. 😃 The meats were cooked to perfection, and the stockpot gravy thick and yummy. It would have been rude to turn down dessert, so we ordered Biscoff cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding with custard, apple and raspberry crumble with ice cream, chocolate brownie sundae 🍨 and a piece of lemon drizzle cake and a cup of tea for Dad. 🍋 We had a taste of each and all delicious. 😋 We will be back soon. There are so many other things we want to try! 😁 🤤

I had a truly disappointing experience at Franksters Takeaway in Blackburn. From the moment I called to place my order, the staff were rude and unprofessional. The person on the phone abruptly cut me off mid-sentence, which was incredibly frustrating and disrespectful. I thought it might be a one-off, but unfortunately, the poor service continued when I arrived to pick up my online order. Despite ordering online, I was made to wait for over 30 minutes after arriving, which is completely unacceptable. There seemed to be no communication or sense of urgency, and I could tell the staff weren’t interested in providing a good customer experience. It’s frustrating when a business can’t even get basic service right, and the way I was treated left a bad impression. The entire experience was disappointing, and it’s clear they need to make major improvements in both customer service and efficiency. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this takeaway to anyone looking for a smooth or enjoyable experience. TOTAL CHOAS!

This place was welcomed surprise to me. My friend recommended and I loved it. The vibe is of an American diner and is very well designed. The restaurant looks stunning and has a cool atmosphere. There is a good selection of food choices, the main of which are there burgers and shakes. The burger was delicious and juicy. Their lamb chops were well seasoned and the sauce was delicious. The price was also very good. The staff were kind too. Added benefit of being halal. Overall highly recommend!

Bad review. The ordered food was never delivered. Never attempted to find my place. I made a note of where to deliver. Never called to ask for directions. Left food somewhere. And now they don't want to return the money for it.

Honestly amazing. Went with family and will keep coming back. Staff and manager all very polite, the manager came and personally made sure everything was okay with the order. The waffles was warm and delicious. The mojito was just the best too! Cannot decide as everything was excellent. Use to visit heavenly in Burley but it looks like not anymore! Definitely recommend.

Great food, pity about the service. Apparently after 6pm they only serve tapas, which I was disappointed by initially but the food was delicious. Whilst there were some vegetarian dishes I would have preferred more to choose from. I also wasn't keen on the courses coming out as and when, it meant that I was sat there a good 10 minutes not eating whilst my friends tucked into their meat dishes. Everyone loved their dishes but I was left still hungry after my 3 vegetarian one's.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We went for Sunday lunch. We opted for the 2 course roast beef dinner. There was no option of how we liked our beef cooked - it’s pink or nothing which we found strange as we have always had an option of how we prefer our meat cooked. This was accompanied by an overly large well done Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes which were very hard and dry and a selection of vegetables. One of the plates our food was served on was damaged and had enough of a chip in it that the gravy spilt over and onto the table. We did complain but the waitress just smiled. We complained again and was told that was the style of the plate! Our puddings to be fair were ok but again one of the plates was damaged. Total spend for a very average Sunday roast plus 2 drinks and water £84.43. When we came to pay the bill we were confronted by another member of staff who asked “what’s your problem”. like we shouldn’t have complained about the damaged plates. Maybe it’s us but damaged plates in our house go straight in the bin. Oh well never again.

First of all, it's a bummer to find, we put the post code into our sat nav and it took us to a housing estate the opposite side of the motorway, next we put the road name in and it took us to the other side of Darwen, eventually I found it using Google maps. Our friends were also sent to the housing estate first. Don't trust it. Secondly, the parking!!! It would be helpful if there was a sign outside the restaurant directing you to the car park. We managed to find it by accident. You drive through some metal gates just down from the restaurant, its sn industrial area with a nursery and other businesses. You can only park in the obvious spaces nr the other businesses after 6pm, before that you keep driving down the lane until you see a small car park on your left, thats where you park before 6pm. You don't need to pay or put anything in your window to say where you are visiting. So to the restaurant, the entrance in on the far side, the one's in the middle are other businesses. Once you've got in, the place is very modern and beautifully decorated in gray, green and bronze art work. There's lots of seating with the main restaurant towards rear. There's also outdoor seating which would have been lovely on the sunny day we visited but there was no parasols for shade, so it was too hot to sit out and eat at 30 degrees. The food was excellent, really tasty, well cooked and presented, however, the service let it down. The staff were standoffish and slow. We had to ask more than once for the drinks and water, when I asked for the WiFi code, the chap said it so quickly I couldn't get it all and walked off. We definitely felt like they didn't want to serve us, they had no patience. Also when we first entered and sat down I couldn't hear anything that the waitress said as the music was so loud, plus its a very echoy. Thankfully she turned it down after we asked. The menu was very limited for vegetarians with just 3 main course options; cheese pie, goats cheeseburger or vegetarian/vegan fish and chips. You could order small plates if you preferred, see menu, but was told these would arrive as and when ready. In summary to improve it they need to; signage outside re entrance and car park, parasols outside for shade, friendly helpful staff, better vegetarian/vegan options on main courses & quicker service. Oh and lastly, the sticky toffee pudding was a let down, the only part of the food that was.

Came to CDJs with the family for our first brunch and it definitely won’t be the last. The setting is really warm and welcoming, with a great atmosphere. We had coffees to start – mine was a flat white and it was spot on. I went for the sausage and egg flatbread, which was tasty. The whole experience felt relaxed - lovely way to start the weekend

This wonderful pub in Tockholes , Blackburn/Darwen is a fabulous Country pub with it's own Micro Brewery and a cosy quiet bar serving several of it's own ales, lagers,soft drinks and simple barsnacks like crisps and nuts. I Love the atmosphere of a quiet village pub and that's exactly what I got with a beautiful wood burning fireplace and ample seating. The barman was exceptionally friendly and it was a delight to travel here in the village of one of my longest known friends. I heartily recommend You try it out.

Excellent choice of their own Cask Ales. I was really impressed with all the different styles. Popped in for a pint before a concert at the cathedral.it was so nice to be greeted with a smile, great staff, friendly, polite and I was made to feel very welcome. Pub had a nice atmosphere, loved the old pub signs on the walls. The cask ale was superb, they even give you a choice of glass, barrel or straight glass. I would 100% recommend going here, a great traditional pub, lovely staff and a great pint of cask ale

I was welcomed by customers and the Landlady as soon as I walked in. Genuine interest in me, as a stranger and could not have been made more welcome. A proper Pub, Proper people and a Proper Landlady. Lancashire folk at their best, even though I’m a Yorkshireman!

This is a pub with great atmosphere, a place where you can actually have a conversation without too much background noise. I often talk to anyone and every conversation/person is interesting, which makes the place friendly. And an added bonus there are some great and varied selection of beers and friendly staff. Sundays are fantastic, again great atmosphere the pub is always busy. And if you're lucky you could win £40 worth of beer for £1

Popped in before and after seeing Sarah Millican at King George's Hall. So nice to finally have a new pub in Blackburn town centre! Let's hope it continues doing well. The atmosphere was great, bar staff were friendly and helpful and there's a great choice of drinks. Looking forward to returning soon

Visited here yesterday, it's great to see a nice bar opening in Blackburn that offers a wide selection of beer styles. I opted for a coffee stout and was lovely. The bar is nice clean and new.

Bradley Wiggins at the King Georges Hall. Frequently visit the Georges Hall and there is now finally somewhere to have a drink beforehand. New taproom by Blackedge a brewery I am a fan of. Bars in Horwich & Westhoughton and now here in Blackburn. Very nice place, friendly staff and exceptional range of ales and craft beers. Wife had a local gin from Cuckoo and we thoroughly enjoyed an hour pre event and a quick half hour after whilst waiting for the taxi. Highly recommend this new bar.

Booked a taxi to take me from Blues Bar to Gallagreaves road, then back to Pritchard Street to drop off my daughter. He charged me £10, which I think is extortionate! Won't be using them again.

Asked for a quote for a local return trip but four days later after finalising it was for 2 people l received no further correspondence. Very rude. I would not recommend this company for reliability.

My girlfriend phone for a taxi and 8:50 to go down aldi and they said phone back after 9. She then asked if she could just book one for after 9 and they just moodily said no and hung up. Disgusting

Rather expensive when compared to similar operators in area. Quoted £50 for an airport run as opposed to £35 and £40 from closest competitors despite offering no discernible difference in service. Cars are rather uncomfortable and drivers not the friendliest tbh.

If I could give no stars I would. Booked s wheelchair taxi two weeks ago for my disabled mum I phoned to check everything was ok today for tomorrow. Got the total brush off and told they don’t have a taxi available now If I hadn’t phoned my mum would have been abandoned in the middle of nowhere waiting for them. Totally rubbish service

Taxi didn’t turn up, tried to phone company 12 times, only picked up once, said they’d sent another car which they hadn’t.

Best I can say was, its ok. Gone are the days of McDonalds being a fun place to bring the kids, its a sterile, generic place. Without the sign over the door it could have been any fast food joint. Food was ok and that was about it really. Barely see any staff as well as you order from a touch screen and the food appears on a small counter.

It's was a very bad experience I ordered sausage and egg muffin finally I got half bun with sausage egg I left the shop after 10minutes I opened my breakfast I was shocked £10.28 at 6.14am drivethru order. Once I found mistake went shop &asked them they just replaced my breakfast that's it's no proper sorry and I asked her give me staff name but she didn't give me.

This McDonald’s specificly is so lazy! They never can be bothered to answer their phones their customer service is poor Everytime you order something they always forget to add something or give you the complete wrong order! Every time I use the app at this restaurant they miss items off the order!! Third time in a row, ok so it was a large order 7 meals and extras however they need to get it right! Plus never answer the phone and don’t respond to emails goes to show how high customer service and satisfaction is here

I waited two hours for my order! After the first hour I rang them to see what the hold up was as my delivery time was stuck on 20 minutes and had been for a little over an hour. The "manager" just said they were waiting on a driver, so I thought it shouldn't be too much longer. Another hour past and it was still saying being prepared and would be 20 minutes. I tried to call again to cancel the order as I have never had to wait 2 hours for a couple of happy meals! Thought i would treat the kids to their tea and its not arrived and I've had to make them something else for tea at nearly 8 oclock at night! (They are young). Tried ringing them again and there is no answer. Why take orders if there are no drivers?? Won't be ordering from this mcdonalds again, the "manager" didn't even bother asking me for my order number neither...🤬

Got a good price using an online offer... Tried the festive pie first time... similar to their apple pie but tbh it was better... not too sweet and not too savoury, just right.. Did you know you can add extra toppings to your fillet o fish? I added pickles and onions and it tasted 😋 Large fries is like a big plate full and def filling.. Service was pretty quick even during modestly busy period. Only issue is that they really don't take care when building these burgers.... the fillet and contents are just slapped on fast... the fillet was half hanging out the bun... and you can't move it back in the middle because it's stuck to the bottom with cheese..

Can’t rate it 5 stars for anything. I placed an order at 2:05, spending £20; including a voucher, only for it to delay my delivery for 45mins despite me living 10mins away. I have a baby at home so I cannot just go myself and rely on things like this!! Always a let down with this place! You get rubbish delivery service and the food is always ALWAYS cold and flavourless somehow despite living nearby!! Half the time they forget half of your order too. Staff don’t answer the phone when you ring about where your order is and the JustEat app has said they’ve been “finding a driver” for the last 45mins!! Absolute letdown of a place. Wouldn’t even bother here anymore, probably get it hotter coming from Antartica!

This was my second time ordering from German Doner Kebab Blackburn, and once again, they nailed it. The food arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavour—exactly what you'd hope for when you're treating yourself. A special shout-out to Maria Hussein who was behind the prep she clearly knows her stuff—everything was beautifully put together and tasted amazing. Only small personal note: the mix of chicken and beef wasn’t quite for me. The chicken has a different texture that stood out a bit—but the flavour was still spot on. Next time I’ll probably stick to one meat (don't know how I will choose), but that’s just preference. As it was a delivery, I can’t comment on the atmosphere inside—but if the food and service are anything to go by, I imagine it’s just as good. Definitely a go-to for me now. Thanks again for the great experience!

I ordered a zinger rice bowl from this kfc on uber eats and it’s come with no chicken or corn. I rang them up to fix the issue as it’s kfcs fault not uber eats, they don’t told me to come in store and get a refund but I can’t hence why I ordered on uber. I asked can they send a new one and they just repeated to go through uber.

Just awful. Spent £46 here 3 adult meals 3 kids meals, Everything dumped on 3 trays not box meals for the kids none of us knew what was what. The wrap was awful! Soggy mess missing chicken strips for one of the kids meals, We will never come here again the place is dirty.

The chicken fry was soaking in oil. Chicken fry is supposed to be crispy, but it was all soggy bread-like consistency. If i had it a bit more, would be sick from all the oil. They should deep fry the chicken and drain the oil well, and they should avoid having the chicken prepared a long time ago.

Ordered from the KFC website and the delivery driver turned up and took the delivery code before getting the food out the Uber Eats bag. It was the wrong order (£55 worth compared to the £16 actually ordered, with completely different order numbers) and he said he would go back and sort it. Nothing for half an hour, so contacted Uber Eats. They said that the driver had gone back and would return with the right order. Another half hour passed, called KFC Haslingden Road. They said that the driver had attempted to deliver the second time but couldn't find the address. Not sure how that works given that the address was found fine the first time... Called KFC back, they refused to replace it because the second driver "couldn't find the address" so it was marked undelivered. UberEats also refused to help because the first driver marked it as delivered, even though it was the wrong order entirely. So we still got charged, but didn't get any food at all in the end. So if you want to donate money to KFC, go for it I suppose.

Yesterday I ordered for a takeout and I collected it from the shop, when I checked it after reaching home one item was missing and this is not the first time they are doing this. When you buy from the shop make sure you have the items you ordered. One time I even got feathers from the hot wings.

Whenever I work in this area, this is a great place to visit for lunch. Staff are friendly and the food is amazing as is to be expected. Usually go for the John Bull when visiting and it's great. Good level of seasoned meat and the potato and batter are great. Chips here are also great too. They have the right level of crisp and softness that you would expect of a good quality chippy. Parking outside can sometimes be a bit tricky if it's busy as there are few shops on the same street but as its residential there's parking around even if you can't get outside. Prices here are very very reasonable and you can get a decent meal for under a tenner which is perfect. And the price you pay for the quality you get is amazing! The food I have here is consistently good quality and I would highly recommend visiting.

The fish was cooked to perfection and very tasty, it was also my first time trying a John Bull and it definitely won't be my last! I 100% recommend this chippy!

Wow, outstanding. Had a Fish Chips MushyPeas Curry and a can of pop. £10.10. It's not something I could afford every day but delicious. A big fresh tasty fish surrounded in dead crispy batter, chips were perfect, curry was that traditional flavour with a good consistency, peas were spot on, and all the flavours made up to a great combo. I was here a couple of years ago and they were outstanding then as well, consistency. Recommended 👍

So I had to visit and try the Blackburn’s now Famous John Bull with scraps and chips. Well I wasn’t disappointed ! In fact I really enjoyed it and would have another the next time I’m in the Blackburn area. I think it’s like a bit of spicy haggis between two thin slices of potato. They take a piece off the potato which is perhaps 4” long and 3/16” thick, the slice then has spiced mince and another slice of potato put together, it is then cover it in batter, and deep fried giving you the famous John Bull treat. A Potato fritter is called a Dab around Blackburn. So it’s two dabs with mince between and fried in crispy batter.

Used to be 1 of my goto chippy's I'm afraid not anymore the john bull was absolutely rock hard i nearly broke my teeth onit straight into the bin never again yak !!

It took us a long time to receive the order. We received a completely different order than what we paid for. This was the third such case. According to the uber driver, there was no traffic at the restaurant. 3 young guys who worked there just had fun. They don't refund our money. No compensation will be given.

Everytime I come here there is always items not available on the menu. Milkshakes being the main one. Asked for dips on collection also but only had BBQ available. I would have gone to a different store if known. I won’t be using this store anymore

What can I say.... who doesn't love a Mcdonalds. It was clean and tidy for a busy fast food restaurant. I've been to this particular Mcdonalds a few times and I have to say that the drive through is one of the quickest.

I've just been and bought a nine piece chicken nugget meal for the minecraft toy as advertised and they tried to charge me extra for the toy when I asked why it was missing. Staff need to get a clue on what they are doing.

If Guinness World Records is handing out titles for “World’s Slowest McDonald’s,” Blackburn Ewood is a top contender. I placed my order a decade ago (or at least it felt like it) and I’ve aged significantly since — I swear I left with more wrinkles than I arrived with. Service is glacial, the staff seem lost in space, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were growing the potatoes and raising the cows from scratch. If you’re after fast food, this isn’t it — bring a camping chair and maybe a sleeping bag. The McFlurry machine? Always “off” — either broken, cleaning itself for the seventh time that day, or just flat-out ignored. Half the menu is usually out of stock, and what is available arrives cold, sad, and slapped together like they resent your existence. Avoid unless you’re doing a patience challenge.

I tried this shop for the first time after hearing a recommendation, but was shocked to find a hair in the veg samosa (photo attached). This is unacceptable and shows very poor hygiene. Definitely needs improvement Update: Interesting that the owner says this isn’t from their shop maybe the samosa walked into my bag by itself? I trusted your place because of a recommendation, but finding a hair inside was a very real and disappointing experience. Denying it doesn’t change what happened.

Guy is a weirdo that owns the shop. very moody and can be abrupt. As for his samosas, they really are best around. This time when i went he pulled the shutters down at 740pm ... time of closure is 8pm. Total waste of a trip update samosas and kebabs are now £1.30 each. over priced. I was served by a young lad who speaks English only, tall with beard, really nice lad.

Still the best samasos around - all meat filling! Who can say that these days. Dont expect a nice sit-down affair though, the place is fairly grim from a 'restaurant' perspective and the decor is still as it was 25 years ago.

Everytime I bite into the samosas and kebabs from here it instantly takes me back to my childhood in the early 1980s. The meat samosas, the seekh kebabs and the chutney has the original taste. It's just so nostalgic the way they been able to keep to the original taste. You cannot beat the samosas from here.

Having been visiting the sweet centre for over 2 decades, the owners have gotten greedy and the quality of food has gone down hill.. samosas charged at 1.30 each and coming out hit and miss, kebabs are like rubber.. customer service from the chubby assistant with turban and the Indian chap is below par, they treat customers like a conveyor belt tossing the food out.. gone are the haydays when the owner was around.. still no card payment.. I'll avoid this place now.

I have been visiting this place ever since I was a young lad for Samosa's and kebabs, and have yet to find another place that can make Samosa's as good as here.. Nobody can beat them on this front, especially their unique spicy sauce that you get with the Samosa's and kebabs. I can honestly say that for a no frills place like this it certainly exceeds all expectation - BELIEVE IT!

Visited this restaurant a few times now and the food has been consistently good. Would highly recommend the Kobeda kebabs. It's like going to eat at someone's house with the upstairs very much like a house. This time it was to takeout and found that the naan had really stuck to the paper. Some on street parking available.

Went out for a bite to eat with friends and wasn't disappointed. The kobeda was succulent with a soft fresh naan, the chicken was cooked to perfection, the salad was crisp and fresh. Customer service was excellent. All in all a great experience and will be returning!

The best kobeda on naan I've had. Juicy, meaty, delicious. Every bite is moreish. Salad is fresh and the home made chips add another level. The naan is fluffy and with the sauces, you can eat it alone. The sauces, what can I say, they are unique. Just them alone are a flavour explosion. Plenty of seating upstairs with a bathroom. Steep steps to get up to be beware. Plenty of site street parking. They take cash only and bank transfer.

Charcoal Cuisine provided a delightful dining experience. The Kobeda was delicious, accompanied by soft and fresh Naan, crispy and hot chips. The rapid service and spacious seating, with food served upstairs, added to the positive experience. Affordable prices, a fresh and yummy salad, and the best Kobeda make it a place I'll be returning to very soon.

Went to this place late one evening with my little sister, brother and his close friend. I don't eat meat very often (strictly organic halal now) but decided to give it a try since they spoke highly of it. The place has a very strange setup from ordering to dining in. You order and then have to take another side entrance upstairs to the eating areas. I guess it's due to a corner house conversion, that's also apparent from the customer bathroom/toilet (see photo). The place is clean and the service is good. We ordered the mix grill and the friend got kebab. The meet of the sheesh kebabs and chicken was tender and full of flavor. The lamb chops were pretty tough and chewy and I have had better. If I was a regular meat eater I would probably go again but I would say there are plenty of places similar everywhere with the same price range.

Firstly I’ve got to say it was a very clean place including the bathroom which normally in other places is wet and/or smelly. Food is really good. Kebabs, lamb, shish tikka, kobeda and the chicken was all well cooked but not overly so which then makes them dried out. The BBQ Chicken is something which I’ve always found to be dry since people tend to overcook it but here it was so juicy, tender and had a great flavour. The Burgers are good too. The Naan is really good. Chips is ok but not the best. And the rice portion I found to be less. When ordering the BBQ chicken with rice, I had expected that the chicken would be served on top of the rice so that the chicken juice and flavour would be mixed with the rice just as the other meats are served on top of the naan. However this is not the case and the rice is served separately. Overall this place is recommended and you would not be disappointed. P.S. Thought I’ll add a few pics of the menu since the prices have changed a little and the old ones are still shown.

Ordered mini strip snack box via drive thru. No other cars just me so service was fast enough, paid and straight away got the food, not even a 1 minute wait... When ordering food I wasn't told how much it would cost and it also wasn't shown on the ordering screen. The new style box with the high edges makes it kinda hard to get at the food, so I ripped off the edges. The chicken strip was not cooked that well in my view. The chips were dry and looked bit stale. Gave me indigestion. Normally the food is OK. You get much better for less in other local chicken joints. This KFC is just alright is you're passing by.

Visited with friends after a long train ride from Euston, London. We were famished after we checked into our hotel across the street. We went up front to place our orders but were sent to the machine to place our orders. There were no other customers but us but they refused to take our orders. They insisted that we place our orders through the machine(s). We were struggling to place our orders and the staff up front just looked at us. A nice young lady (Zara) noticed that we were having trouble ordering and she came and helped. The food was great and the hot chocolate was delicious. Zara was a charming and hospitable staff member, thank you again Zara. Keep up the good work.

Very nice service from a nice charming helpful mind lady. She helped me what I wanted from the menu. The service was good Wow.. In few seconds my order was hot and ready! Despite they were so busy with drive thru orders. 3 of the 4 hand wash dispenser in the all gender single area was empty. Both have dryers working. But was very very clean and no bad smell. Very nice ambience to sit in the dining area and good privacy with wall planks between each area against the wall. Background soft music in the background. Very clean place to relax . Family friendly. Plenty of parking space. I got " mighty for one".£8.79 Get 2 large fresh cut chips . They were amazing. Get 2 proper large very tasty chicken pieces. Mind you one was to much bone. Boohoo The 2 chicken strips were great in taste but like the chicken pieces oily to Bristol city center KFC I tried 18 months ago. The chicken wings coating is very beer different to KFC in Bristol( last time I tried KFC 18 months ago). Unsure if changed the receipt since it different here. It was more spicy and very thick coating. I like it. But the wings I think we're smaller to Bristol KFC. I definitely would love to find to this KFC again and try a different bucket assortment next time. But the large roundabout is for me difficult to be in the right lane to get off, ended up twice times around it before I was in the right roundabout lane! Lol. Totally recommend this place. I'm told open 10am to 10.30 pm eat in and drive thru is till 11pm.

Clean and neat so quiet nice to recommend

Yesterday my friend put in an order on just eat at 10:15pm which totalled to £70 as he was ordering for his family and me. The status changed to accepted before being repeatedly delayed till 12:30pm which is way after the store closed. Only then did it say it was delivered when it clearly wasn't. He rang the delivery driver multiple times only to have his calls declined. We believe the delivery driver either stole our order or it was never made in the first place. We rang KFCs number only to be directed to a branch in Scotland. Apparently this had been happening all day yesterday. For what it's worth the Scotsman was very empathetic to our situation but was unable to help us. We contacted JustEat and now have to wait an additional 48 hrs for a refund. This entire situation is appalling and I'd advise everyone who reads this to take their business elsewhere.

Check you order before you leave ! If they leave items off when you get home only you be told you have to return on same night or they. Can't do anything. How hard is it to make sure orders correct happens every time ! Minimum wage is too much for those airheads

Quite disappointed. Placed an order to be picked up on Good Friday as we were told we had to and we arrived 5min before I pick up time to be told they had ran out of fish, bearing in mind we had two orders of. We actually made an effort of our day to get there in time as we are never usually home when they are open so it was quite disappointing

Old Mill Hill Chippy is a great place to get a tasty meal at an affordable price, the staff are very friendly and I've enjoyed their food every time I've gone. I recommend them to anyone who wants a nice bit of fish and chips or a battered sausage. Get yourself down there!

Good food and very good and polite service. Wheelchair accessible on request. I had fish and chips; the fish fillets were prepared fresh in open view and the chips made fresh from a whole potatoes per portion.

Charged ten pound for two portions of sausage chips and curry sauce when we had ordered two cans of coke with the food which they tried telling us we never ordered when it was said loud and clear when challenged about this she said she only charged for chips and curry twice on menu it states £3.70 so why for two people was it ten pound with no drinks that we ordered customer service is shocking and I wouldn’t recommend this place. Walls are dirty ceilings falling to bits in places waited at least 15 mins for food and when biting into sausage bits was cold and hard dirty looks given from staff when we tried to talk about the order and small portions you need to learn as a business how to treat customers and look into their issues instead of overcharging and being arrogant never what it used to be when an old woman run the place

The Chippery is no doubt the best fish and chips place in Blackburn, AJK's Fish and Chips is also amazing, but The Chippery beats them by a mile. I usually order cheese pie and chips, but I can never ever eat it all it is that filling - YUM! The people are very friendly towards customers, and it is in a nice location near the town centre. We use the chippery fairly regularly, when we do not have time to sort out tea, on each occasion we have been quite satisfied with what we have bought, the only thing I would say is that the portions are good, so it may be that one portion of chips may be sufficient for two people, if they have small appetites, I would certainly recommend the shop!

The savers menu had some excellent food, and the rest was good as well, but Americano coffee was discussing almost like urine... No choice of any dessert except ice cream, no ice drinks, no milkshakes... how sad for BK. I did tell this to the Manager. The rest was okay, not bad.

Staff rude was no napkins in dispenser, asked for some and was handed some from the dispenser behind the counter all screwed up. The empty one still hasn't been refilled even though the store had noone in. Food stone cold when said to reheat was told well I did shout you a minute ago. Food shouldn't be cold to the touch after 1 min. Tables all needed a clean and floor needed brushing as fries on the floor. Staff sat in office isn't off cleaning or doing anything really.

Terrible service with a young male calling me love? After waiting 10 mins in drive thru I got my meal to find that the fires were cold and the chicken on the burger was also cold! I parked up and had to say excuse me several times as all staff in the back room looking at somthing on TV/monitor. I advised to the staff member that the fries and burger were cold, he touched the fries with the back of his hands then threw them in the bin. At this point I said forget it as no apology or response. Disgusting service all around, should of know as the place was empty.

Always beautiful Fish & Chips. I work throughout the country and have had the opportunity to try Fish & Chips in a lot of different Towns and Citys and I would happily rate this probably the Best Fish and Chips in the UK. Fish Beautifully cooked in Crunchy tasty batter with moist and juicy fish inside and chunky chips perfectly fried throughout. The portion is large too. We share 1 portion between me, my wife and my daughter. 1 portion perfect for us 3. This place was closed for a family bereavement but I'm glad its reopened again. I normally love AJK and always recommend them. Went earlier the other day when I normally go in evenings, was about 5pm. Came home to see the chips and fish were so hard. Was so obviously from the day before. Very very disappointed. Waste of £20.

The fish and chips are actually pretty nice but had next to no salt and vinegar on them and the mushy peas are the worst I've ever tried. They're extremely watery and have no seasoning at all. Both are small things but the terrible mushy peas and lack of salt and vinegar ruined the overall meal for me. I wont be going back.

Compared to other fatayers I've had, this one was not as good but it seems ok. Initially I thought it was quite small but It actually was quite filling. I would expect a fatater, esp if traditional style, to have all the filling enclosed by the dough like a calzone, or atleast covered by cheese. There was fair bit of exposed meat. Taste wise is was ok. Not bad but I think next time I would go for just chicken Shawarma and not the mix one.

Very disappointed with my experience at Al Quids. The person who answered the phone( seems the boss man always head phone on) had a really bad attitude—completely unhelpful and rude. The staff in general seem to lack basic customer service skills and come across as arrogant and unprofessional. On top of that, they only accept cash, which is ridiculous in the 21st century when everyone expects to pay by card. Definitely won’t be returning. Avoid if you value respectful service and convenience.

We've been to this restaurant many times in the past few months, and it has always left a great impression. The food is consistently excellent, especially the kobeida kebabs, which are the best we've ever had. Even a friend of mine who doesn't usually like kobeida kebabs because of their fatty taste enjoys these ones because they taste fresh and aren't too greasy. And the hummus is amazing! The portions are generous and very good value for money. As for the staff, they are polite, efficient, generous and friendly. They are also HMC certified and don't feel the need to put on music in the background, which is sadly not the case for many other places. May Allah bless the bros for all the good that they do. I rang them over the phone and asked if number 5 is available or not and said to them we are coming in 15 minutes as we were traveling from burnley. And upon reaching there he said i have already prepared number 5 even tho we wanted to eat in there and we wanted to order the family plater instead and he goes u will have to pay for order number 5 and refused to change our order and told us not to come again inside the shop. Absolutely outstanding food. If you want to try authentic Kobeda and traditional rice this is by far the best place I have ever tried. The staff are friendly and you feel their kindness and hospitality even as a paying customer. Food is reasonably priced and the place is clean. We go almost every evening as we are having a kitchen refurbishment at home and never have we been disappointed. The food is consistently at a high standard and always tastes amazing! We have even bought our family members from out of town here and they agree. The place is 10/10! We love the place and we love the people! ITALY 🇮🇹!!!!

What an absolutely disgusting service from this Chinese. We ordered Salt n Pepper Chicken, Beef and Mushroom, Fried Rice and Chips and Curry. Got home to find Salt and Pepper chips instead of Salt and Pepper Chicken, rang them up and they said oh come back and we will do the Salt and Pepper Chicken, we said we would take the chips back but they said oh don’t bother. When we got back to the shop they charged FULL PRICE for the salt and pepper chicken!!!! So we now have salt and pepper chips that we have no need for and had to pay!!! Disgusting!!!!

It's an annual Christmas eve tradition to buy supper at this shop. I pre ordered on the phone and the food was ready when I arrived to collect it. All cooked fresh and served by friendly staff. We ate English food, so I can't comment on the Chinese dishes.

Not lived in the area for over 20 years, but have visited this place a couple of times this month whilst visiting the family. We timed it perfectly, only one person ahead of us, but plenty joined after. That in itself is a good sign. Best of all, we didn't wait long at all. Especially considering how busy they were. I ordered the set menu 1B, excellent value for money. I was well fed for sure. Everyone else had a variety of items from the menu and no one was dissapointed with their choices. Definitely recommend. 👍

I ordered fish and chips got it before so I thought it’ll be nice to get again, ordered beans with it and when I opened it there was beans all over the chips , usually other places I’ve been to have them in separate tubs this was just disgusting to look at. Pizza was really nice tho!

What an excellent place to eat, the food was presented really well with healthy portions and tasted amazing 😋👍😉 Staff were polite and courteous, food order was taken quickly and the food was ready in under 10 minutes. We ordered the House Special Persian on Nan and Mix Grill with Red Donner on Chips. Fantastic tasting food allround, the shop was super clean and had plenty of seating, the decor was nice and bright and the menu is vast, so you'll be spoilt for choice tbh. Cash machine available right next door and parking is available in the side streets. Only constructive criticism is that a hand washing basin would be appreciated by customers eating in and it can get messy 🤪 Although cash and card is taken, I believe the staff prefer cash which is available right next door which is free to withdraw cash. Well done and keep up the good work guys, look forward to visiting again in the near future and we definitely recommend to give it a try with friends and family!

Excellent food, We had Donner meat & chips Traditional English Fish & Chips Both were really good ...the chips were really fresh and great taste..... We were down from London...this is always our first stop when ever we come to Blackburn. Will be trying the other items on menu next time we are up.

I am very disappointed with my repeated experiences at K2 Taj, particularly with their lamb dishes. I’ve tried them several times, hoping that things might improve, but each time has been a complete letdown. The lamb is consistently tough, chewy, and inedible. It doesn’t matter which lamb dish you order — the meat is so poorly cooked and of such bad quality that it becomes impossible to eat. On every occasion, the meat ended up being thrown away, and we were left eating only chapattis dipped in the gravy. It’s extremely frustrating, especially when you’re paying good money and expect a proper meal. The gravies may have some flavour, but the main part of the dish — the lamb — is completely ruined. This shows a lack of care and quality control in the kitchen. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of dining here to completely avoid the meat dishes, especially the lamb. Save your money and your appetite, because what you’ll get at K2 Taj is a huge disappointment.

I decided to give this place another chance by ordering through their website today, despite a poor experience in the past, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, nothing has changed—it was actually worse. The service was unacceptable. My order arrived over an hour later than the expected time of delivery, with no updates or apology. Repeated calls went unanswered, and when someone finally picked up, I was told the driver was already on the way. Half an hour later, I rang again, only to be told he was just leaving. I made it clear I wouldn’t accept cold food. When the driver eventually arrived, he handed it over claiming it was 'piping hot,' then rushed off—only for me to discover it was stone cold. The food itself was just as disappointing. I ordered a mix grill, which turned out to be the worst I’ve ever had. It included half a seekh kebab, while the chicken and lamb were rock-solid and dripping in enough oil to service a car. For something advertised as a mix GRILL, it was an absolute letdown. This was a truly frustrating experience and a complete waste of money. If you’re considering ordering from here, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere!

So this is really good. I ordered through the app making it easier. They're always polite and consider it when they bring it over. They will answer any questions you have when they arrive and often ask you if you need anything else before they leave which is really good service in my book

Extremely rued Horribly rude staff. After bad service. I informed them to wear gloves and the manger did not u understand me I then tell a ment of staff and they rudely start talking bout me just from a complain as I saw how they cook the food they toutch the bread the cheese tomato’s and the rest with no gloves they have no hygiene no hair nets or masks they only use utensils just for the chicken and paddy’s . Sorry but Japan and Spain have ways better hygiene. Never coming back

There is a lad that works here, he is called Daniel I think... if you know you know... now I don't know if this is common knowledge but he is the most polite person I've ever met and his customer care is second to none. All staff and people in general could learn a valuable lesson from this lad. No doubt he will go on to achieve great things. Good luck lad whether you see this or not. Besides the food is as you would expect from a standard mcdonalds. Egg mcmuffin is my go to never had an issue with it me :)

Straight forward chippy, well fried fish and decent chips. Not sure what all the complaints are about, if I'm being picky the chips were a bit bitty. They now accept card payments which makes things easier, the fryer was cherry enough with a few customers that came in.

Bought steak pudding and a large portion of chips. The portion of chips was smaller than any small portion I've had anywhere else ever. Chips decent, but portion should have been 3 times bigger at least. Disappointing. Been about 10 years since I've been here. Probably leave it another 10 years before I try again. Maybe it will change hands in that time and someone might buy it that wants to give reasonable portions. £2.90 btw for this tiny portion of chips !!!

Food portions are atrocious - the owner was very rude and the customer service wasn’t very good , I asked what ingredients they use in the curry sauce and gravy, and the reply was very rude , it was like he couldn’t be bothered. The interaction was disgusting they need to learn how to speak to customers and be more friendly. I felt they were being racist and were very rude , was quite disappointed with the behaviour. Not to sure how the place is still running with the way they treat people a specially Asian Muslims.

Absolute vile the older lady with blond hair working here needs some advance training in customer service. She needs to learn from her colleagues the young girl how to treat customers. My mate says that your customer service is a bit lacking. He came in and felt that he was undervalued as a customer. Well what can I say. What used to be the best Kebab house in Blackburn back in the 80's has now got to be one of the worse. The atmosphere in there is terrible, no interaction with customers they would rather stand with their backs to you and play on their phone with the obligatory hoodie up. You really don't know if they're staff or just drifted off the street for a natter. Food has gone down hill big time.

This place is an absolute joke. I ordered kebabs, and what I got was cold, inedible trash. The meat was like chewing on rubber—dry, tasteless, and clearly old. It’s obvious they don’t care about what they serve, and they certainly don’t care about their customers. When I reached out to customer service, they didn’t even bother to apologize or offer any resolution. Instead, I was met with arrogance and a complete lack of professionalism. It’s clear they have zero respect for their customers or for the quality of their food. If you want to throw your money away and get treated like garbage, then sure, go ahead and order from here. If you have any self-respect or expectations for a decent meal, do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Worst takeaway experience I’ve ever had. Having tried many other fast food places on Darwen Street, No. 39 is by far the best to order from as they are 5 Star Rated for food hygiene and the quality of the food is amazing. They offer premier Istanbul Donner Kebab which is absolutely delicious and a family favourite. The portion size on naan bread is enormous and comes fully loaded with Salad and sauce... Great Job guys and a BIG BIG Thumbs up!

Absolutely disgusting and disappointing was supposed to be a large mixed kebab with donner, chicken and lamb, only got what looks like a small kebab the meat was cold, the chips were cold and the garlic bread was full of grease and tasteless Never again! Customer service was abysmal

Appaling Shish kebab! Ordered a regular kebab and this is what was delivered! 6 straggly tiny bits of lamb. They do say it's a small portion but this was miniscule! When i rang to query I was told this is normal as lamb is expensive!! Always been a regular customer but no longer!

ive had this takeaway a few times (if someone offers to buy a takeaway u take it lol) and i think its fair to say its the worst food in Blackburn. everything tastes old? especially the pizzas. the fact that the only salad available for kebabs is lettuce does say something (they put hardly any lettuce on as well). chips might be the only edible thing.

Decided to stop here on the way home out of convenience after not coming here in just aover 12 months. Ordered a 12 inch pizza for £7.50 and was told there was a offer of 2x12 inch pizzas for £10. Ordered 2 pizzas and a cheeseburger meal. The place looks tired and run down since I last visited and is in dire needs for a makeover and attention to decor because the first impression as you walk in is to walk back out. The menu is extensive and the prices very reasonable and competitive. On first conclusion the pizzas where tasty but lacking the amount of topping I found at my usual eaterie. The cheeseburger meal was as good as a basic cheeseburger would look and taste like nothing outstanding but nothing dire as well. All in all out of 10 I would rate it as a strong 6. Would I order from here again? Yes. I would like to try a few more dishes that looked tempting on the billboard menu in the shop ( no takeaway paper menus ).

Ordered the kebab roll from Naafiah, freshly made right in front of me. Had to wait a bit, but it was totally worth it. Very reasonably priced too. It's a cash-only place, so bear that in mind when you visit.

I cannot believe that nothing has been improved with staffing regarding all these bad reviews. I too, had an unpleasant experience after my night shift at the hospital. I’ve been on a few occasions and I’m always left standing there around 10 minutes until someone serves me (bear in mind I’m probably the first one there as it’s early) and the blonde girl with the ponytail just chats with another girl next door at greggs while I’m literally standing in front of them. They don’t acknowledge me whatsoever, don’t use basic manners like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, don’t crack a smile once and just have a horrible attitude here. It makes you feel so out of place. NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO WORK AT SUBWAY. The 2 girls were also gossiping about a recent incident about a customer service issue and something ‘not being halal’ and ‘getting the blame for it’. I didn’t get a good vibe from that it seemed very passive aggressive. They also ‘run out’ of so much food and that’s at the very start of the day. Make it make sense ?? I will definitely be taking this further and reporting this subway to trading standards as they have failed to listen to the public through these reviews and puts everyone off going there.

Absolutely will not go again took about 40 minutes to serve I was the only person there at the time. My 2 year old grand daughter could of served me quicker she obviously didn’t want to be there, customer service absolutely shocking and she definitely could do with re-training or getting another job so not worth the money save your money and go somewhere else.

Just been to subway haslingden rd and while the food was good the service was terrible the young lady just walked off and left us standing there another young lady was doing something else and took a few minutes to come serve us both girls looked so miserable and never once cracked a smile there was no communication whatsoever I really felt like we had put them out

Ordered via uber eats, arrived cold when I was only 5mins away near the hospital. What I ordered I didn’t receive had missing items from what I requested

Good but everytime i been they literally just slam everything in with no manner so it just looks unappetising compared to every other subway i been to, and one more thing the place is always unclean it puts me off eating here when theres a clean kfc across the road

The food is really good for the price. Traditional Indian food and some amazing burgers. The owner likes banter. So it feels more welcoming. The smash burger meal is a steal at £6.50.

I was recommended this place by a friend I went for the ed smash box was 10/10 for me. Only place in Bburn I know that do angry dipping sauce with the meal. The karaaiii sauce was a little sweet for me. Should add a madras sauce to the menu for the people that want a spicy sauce.

1st time tryingbthis after watching TFT food troll review, unfortunately my review is different probably down to TFT cannot handle spicy food which is most likely why he loved it I ordered the Shad Chef Ed's Box £12 sat-thur & £10 on Friday It consists of 1 double smashed patty with plain grilled donner Chips with stirfried red donner Curry Dipping Sauce of your choice And a drink The burger was pretty decent to be fair love the toasted floured bun but imo was lacking spice Rating 7.5/10 Chips with those typical takeaway Chips with peri salt 8.5/10 Stir fried red donner , was bland and needs onions peppers and way more seasoning in that red tandoori sauce they stir fry it with. Definitely not up there with the likes of xotica fusion in manchester or kebab house in rochdale or oldham. Same with the garlic chilli chicken curry dipping sauce ,way too bland and imo doesn't go well with the food Drink selection was good approx 15 to choose from however wasn't cold enough Overall I rate it 7/10, I wouldn't travel for it but if I lived locally then maybe i would get it again but add my own seasoning to it to spice it up. Went to this place today as just needed some fries as our usual were shut for Jummah. I ordered 3 boxes of fries, had to wait 10 minutes as they make them fresh. Good so far. Whilst waiting I observed a member of staff packing someone’s food into a bag. I noticed he licked his finger to help open carrier bag. This is a No No! It’s a food place you must have had training and this is spreading germs.when I received my fries I politely pointed this out to the man in charge who served me. I explained this was not acceptable and I will be leaving a review as it’s not good practice and although I shall not return I just don’t want their customer to be exposed to this. The guy explained that we are a small place not McDonald’s! That’s irrelevant you must follow good safety if serving public. He then proceeded to offer me a refund. I said no I don’t want my money back but just want you to review and retrain the staff for the benefit of your customers. He was not very accepting of my advice and explained you can leave your review but it will not affect my trade/ income/ Rozie. I do not wish for anyones business to suffer, nor do I wish for it to be affected by my review. If you are bringing friends and family to help plz offer them training!

Came today to see the fantastic Mo! For his famous lamb biryani! Food was absolutely bob on!! Friendly atmosphere even if he throws that banter out!! Gotta love a good Ed’s dinner!! Always back it’s second home! Thanks for your service in the kitchen Mo!!

Paid a pretty good price for a chicken fillet burger meal and a curry with two rotis. But it was the daily offer so that's prob why... The burger itself was ok. For me it wasn't spicy enough for a spicy sizzler and could have benefitted from some chilli sauce. The chicken Tawa curry had a good taste to it with decent amount of chicken but the portion size was on the small size, its enough for one person not really for sharing. Would buy again... Update: Was passing buy and thought I'd go in and try their smash burgers as I read some good reviews. But overall I didn't think it was anything special. The buns are a nice change and the burger is large with two smashed patties. Initially you get an overall sweet taste possibly from the mayo or salad. I asked for chilli sauce but it didn't seem to spice it up much... once you get past those flavours the meat itself just tastes bland, definitely something missing salt or seasoning I'm not sure... I think I prefer the ones from King's Castle.

First Time going as this place has been on my bucket list Had to try the famous shad chefs burger Absolute sensational Really Nice chap had a laugh.Safe to say be back again for future orders .I've tried alot of takeaways around blackburn Nothing compares to the smash burgers served here.👌🔥

Called at the Snack Attack for a meal and was pleasently supprised .The staff are really friendly and the food was excellent and not expensive will definitely go back and would recommend the Snack Attack

We order 4 burger meals to dine in spent about 35 quid on meals but the food was absolutely cold even buns wasn’t toasted well peri fillet was so thik/undercook and has no taste in them the staff was so rude we asked for extra sauces and guy said there will be extra charges for them we said we’ll pay on card guy goes we can’t take payment on card even 10 min before they taken card payment of us not recommended at all the.guy serving the food he was being so Cheaky just for 30p sauce. They don’t even know how to deal with customers.not recommended at all very bad experience.

Genuinely worst cafe I’ve been in. Couldn’t eat the rubber solid reheated eggs, none of the tables were cleared after people were done with them so customers were clearing them their self to sit down, staff didn’t seem to care, all cutlery was dirty, never received a glass for my drink so had to take a mug and put my Pepsi in it myself 😂 wasn’t even busy, but you’d think it was rammed from the service. Feel scammed paying to eat here.

Cutlery and condiment section absolutely disgusting. Took cutlery into bathroom to be able to clean. Coffee machines dirty. Cleanliness is definitely letting the cafe down. We will be going elsewhere in future. If I hadn't already paid I would not be staying. Food not hot. Used to be our place to go. Not anymore.

Okay food, awful service. The tables are often left messy and no one clears them for a long time. The staff obviously doesn't care. You can't even find cutlery at times. No wonder it's closing down, it's for the better.

Awful. This used to be a fabulous cafe. Sadly, not anymore. Ordered baked potato with beans and tuna and a full English. Half an hour later received warm baked potato without tuna but a bowl of cheese instead. The full English can be seen in the picture, sad mushrooms and tepid bacon. Other customers were equally disappointed. Morrisons, please buck up!

Staff were working as hard as they could but there weren't enough of them. Every single table was dirty and you had to move peoples plates to sit down. Used to be such a good caffe, but the food was undercooked and tasteless. They definitely need a few more people it was ridiculous.

Probably the worse bacon and egg sandwich I have ever had, swimming in grease. Cafe had no sauces so I went into store and bought one. No serviettes, no teaspoons. Very unorganised. Will vote with my feet and not return to Morrisons cafe Blackburn again.

Absolutely shocking. The fryers weren't working so very limited choice. The kids meal was free with an adult meal which was just as well it was free as it was very poor standard.
