At Relish Mama, a beloved cooking school founded by Nellie Kerrison in 2009, culinary enthusiasts can embark on a global gastronomic journey. With an impressive lineup of guest chefs, students learn to whip up delectable dishes from diverse cuisines like Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, and more. The school's relaxed and flexible approach ensures that anyone can adapt the recipes to their own kitchen setup and skill level.
I recently attended the Rustic Italian Cooking Class, hosted by Nellie in her home. It was a fun & intimate experience with only a small group of 8 whom were present. The menu was practical & wholesome and left you thinking of many ways you could adapt recipes to suit your own families likes & tastes. The first thing I made at home was an easy but delicious Ricotta Gnocchi w/ burnt butter & sage sauce. Just delicious. I am looking to book another class with friends in the near future.

My team and I attended one of Relish Mama's cooking classes last week - what a great night! Nellie invited us into her home and taught us all about how to make gnocchi. It was hands-on, fun, intimate and overall a great night. Best of all was sitting around the table to enjoy the meal. Absolutely loved it and would definitely do it again!

I’m always amazed at how much Nellie can get you to achieve in her online classes. I recently did her Indian cooking class and, while it was a crazy 90 minutes in my kitchen, the end result was sitting down to the most incredible feast. Thank you, Nellie, for opening my eyes (and taste buds) to dishes and flavours I never would’ve tried on my own.

I attended the Moroccan class at Relish Mama and it was wonderful. I was looking for new ideas and inspiration in particular for meat free meals and absolutely loved this. The food was delicious and the class so informative. We have now booked into the BBQ class!

I recently joined the Indian Cooking online cooking class with Nellie. This was my first time doing an online cooking class, but really enjoyed the experience. The recipes were really good and the food was amazing! Nellie made it easy to follow the class and provided lots of instructions and demonstrated it really well. Thankyou and I will be booking in my next one soon.

I had an amazing time at the Otao Dumpling cooking class with my partner! Anan was so bubbly and positive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The lesson was well-structured, and we made delicious pork and chicken dumplings. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and we even got to enjoy some great alcoholic beverages. Highly recommend this class to anyone looking to learn and have a blast while doing it!

Second time back at Otao. Did the Japanese cooking class this time and had the best evening — learnt a few things and ate delicious food. Anan was fantastic with his bubbly energy which made the class a fun experience.

A lovely evening, well organized and excellent teaching by Anan. This is the second cooking class we've done here (Vietnamese and Dumplings) a great date night and delicious food you made yourself under the chef's guidance. Anan is warm, friendly and a great teacher. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful day at the Dumpling Party class. Finally after years of eating them we can make them ourselves! The kitchen is laid out very well, fully equipped and clean. The instructor took his time to explain things and went around the room helping those who were struggling. Will definitely recommend Otao Kitchen to anyone looking for classes, we are booking our next class very soon!

my family and i had the best time here, we participated in the dumplings cooking class, and it was incredible! it tasted soo good, and every aspect of our day was so lovely. the staff are so kind and really made sure that everyone had a good experience with offering drinks, support, and one on one teaching when needed. thank you so much! 🎀

Had the best experience at Otao. My partner and I did the Thai cooking class and learned so much. Anan was so knowledgeable, funny, and made the class what it was. We will be back for sure!
Megan A — Google review
Great hand on experience and excellent chef giving clear instructions and easy to follow, relaxing atmosphere and fun. We had attended few cooking classes this month The only constructive feedback / improvements worth to look at is that every student should have their own dedicated board when hand made their own pasta or pasties. At the moment all these are done on the cooking/dining table and we see it with possible hygiene issues. Hope to see this new change in our next classes, thanks

La Cucina di Sandra, a remarkable culinary school, offers more than just cooking techniques. Participants are not only taught the reasons behind choosing specific products over others, but also provided with time-saving tips, information on where to find ingredients, and even a curated playlist for each class. The knowledgeable and approachable Sandra creates an enjoyable atmosphere with her engaging history lessons. Moreover, the school's impressive library is truly awe-inspiring.
My friends and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a truly incredible evening at La Cucina di Sandra, and we simply can't stop raving about it! Our cooking class with Sandra was an absolute delight from start to finish. Sandra's expertise in Italian cuisine is truly unparalleled. The cooking class was perfectly paced, allowing us to absorb every detail and technique she shared. Her passion for the culinary arts was evident in every step, and we found ourselves learning so much more than we had anticipated. As for the dishes prepared and enjoyed, they were nothing short of outstanding. Each course was a masterpiece on its own, and they led perfectly from one dish to the next. Our third course, was the most delicious ragu any of us had ever tasted (including our friends who just returned from several weeks in Italy!) The presentation of the dishes was equally impressive, a feast for both the eyes and the palate. (My photos do not do it justice). Aside from the incredible food, the warm and welcoming atmosphere of La Cucina di Sandra added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. The hospitality we received was impeccable, making us feel right at home. Sandra's attention to detail and genuine care for her guests truly set the tone for an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for an authentic and memorable culinary adventure, look no further than La Cucina di Sandra. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a novice in the kitchen, Sandra's expertise and passion will leave you inspired and craving more. A huge thank you to Sandra for sharing her talents with us - this is an evening we'll cherish for years to come! Kudos to Cucina di Sandra for creating such a remarkable dining experience. We can't wait to return and explore more of Sandra's culinary creations.

Last night, three friends and I attended La Cucina di Abruzzese cooking class. Sandra welcomed us into her cozy home, with a glass of prosecco and parmesan biscuits. We had a wonderful night, learning all about Abruzzese cuisine and enjoying the delicious dishes that Sandra demonstrated, including cuttlefish in a white sauce, stuffed mussels baked in the oven and rigatoni with saffron sauce. Sandra is very knowledgeable and a patient teacher, taking time to answer all of our questions. All of the dishes were outstanding and we finished the night with a dessert made from smooth ricotta, emulsified with lemon zest and dessert wine and served with dark chocolate, hazelnuts and crostoli! I definitely recommend attending Sandra's classes to improve your knowledge of Italian food and also for an enjoyable night with expertly cooked dishes. Even if you are familiar with Italian food, its great to see Sandra's approach that will and inspire you and refresh your own cooking.
Katri P — Google review
Wonderful night with Sandra who inspires you to visit Italy with her knowledge and passion for Italian food. Our dinner was superb and we enjoyed the cooking tips along with insights on what and where to buy the right ingredients.

I was lucky enough too attend a private group cooking class last night at Sandra's. A great night, the food was simple, beautifully prepared and delicious. Sandra has so much knowledge and was very generous with sharing it eg her favourite pastas and best places to shop! Highly recommend, fantastic pressie and fun to do with a group of friends. Thanks for including me Mel, Mark and Chloe
Janie D — Google review
We recently booked a private cooking class with Sandra as a family activity and had a fantastic day! Sandra worked with us to create a suitable menu which took into account everyone's preferences, as well as allergies etc. The food and the setting were beautiful - would highly recommend!
Fiona M — Google review
On the June long weekend, we visited La Cucina di Sandra for a bespoke Italian cooking class. This is not our first visit but this time we brought friends with us. We organised a friends weekend in Melbourne and we arrived from Sydney and Adelaide. The focus of our trip was food and art and we chose La Cucina di Sandra for one evening of food. Four delicious courses made it difficult to choose a favourite dish but I suspect the Amatrice-style spaghetti with prawns and black pepper may have won the night...or maybe the mussel and cannellini bean soup with prosciutto... Sandra's knowledge about techniques and ingredients is invaluable for those who want to learn how to produce restaurant-quality meals at home. Her home is eclectic as is her collection of cook books. She is generous with her knowledge and full of anecdotes about dishes she has cooked and eaten in Australia and abroad. A delicious and entertaining evening was had by all and we hope to make the trip from Adelaide again to visit La Cucina di Sandra. Grazie mille, Sandra.
Mary T — Google review
We were lucky to share an evening with friends and Sandra's amazing cooking, she prepared the most delicious flavor's of Abruzzo. Sandra's Rigatoni with Saffron Sauce was the best! Her knowledge of where to get the best ingredients and market choice's is amazing. We had a Italian Feast.
Deborah C — Google review
After a long Covid related delay, we finally had the opportunity to explore Sandra’s culinary skills. She took us on a journey of the La Marche region and it was outstanding. Sandra’s expertise was delivered effortlessly, as she engaged us whilst performing her food magic. We enjoyed stuffed olives, cauliflower and pancetta soup, pasta with prawns and broccoli and topped it off with a sensational ricotta puffing. A great night all round. Highly recommended for a family or friends night out.

Uyghur cuisine restaurant
Restaurant
Spice Bazaar Uyghur Restaurant, located in Melbourne, offers a unique culinary experience with its flavorful and generous servings. The restaurant is known for its lamb dishes, handmade noodles, baked buns, and pastry pies that are not oily and can be adjusted to different spice levels. Under new management, the staff is enthusiastic about their cuisine and provides excellent service. The cozy interior adds to the overall dining experience.
Best halal chinese food I have had. The customer service was exceptional and we felt very welcomed. Our baby was also very warmly welcomed and they had high chairs. Food was outstandingly delicious and good fillings. Price was also very reasonable for such good food 😍😍
Anon — Google review
Spice Bazaar offers a delightful experience with tasty and authentic Uyghur cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the flavourful "Big Plate Chicken" which certainly lives up to its name and had just the right level of spice. The "Uyghur Polo" was an addictive bite, with perfectly cooked and seasoned rice and super tender lamb ribs. Unfortunately, there was an extra long wait on our lamb skewers, and when they finally came we found that the majority of them were overcooked and tough to eat. Otherwise, Spice Bazaar has a pleasant ambience and with the venue packed on a Friday night, there was a nice vibe making it a comfortable place to dine. Overall, despite the long wait for our overcooked skewers, everything else was delicious and still made for a positive experience. Would recommend giving Spice Bazaar a try if you're in the mood for some authentic Uyghur food.
Neil H — Google review
Went here for the first time and really enjoyed the food. We really liked the fried rice, lamb skewers, chicken main dish and the dumplings. However, the soup with the dumplings was almost tasteless so I would recommend getting the dry dumplings. The lamb noodles were just alright, not their speciality in my opinion. The service was slow so keep plenty of time when you visit. Will definitely visit again to try the other items on the menu
Umar A — Google review
Food tasted good with free complimentary on sweet dessert doughnut by the boss. We tried other food which the shortest noodle we've ever tried in our lives. It's not bad, just that we would have preferred longer noodles. Really not used to it. It's even shorter than pasta. Also, if they could put up some music and heater, which would have made the experience warmer.

Spice Bazar in Balwyn North is an authentic Uyghur gem, a delightful find run by a young Uyghur couple. The restaurant exudes warmth and authenticity, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the Uyghur community. From their extensive menu, we opted for some of their signature dishes, and we were not disappointed. The fresh hand-pulled noodles were absolutely scrumptious, packed with flavor, and hands down the best we’ve had so far. The texture and taste were perfect, showcasing the skill and tradition behind their preparation. The charcoal lamb skewers were another highlight. The marination was excellent, infusing the meat with a depth of flavor that was both savory and aromatic. Each bite was tender and delicious, making it a must-try for meat lovers. We also ventured into new territory with the fungus salad, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Its unique flavor profile was intriguing and enjoyable, adding a refreshing contrast to the other dishes. Lastly, the cold noodles were equally impressive. They were light, flavorful, and perfect for a refreshing bite. Overall, Spice Bazar offers an extensive menu with something for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned fan of Uyghur cuisine or a curious newcomer, this place will not disappoint. Be sure to check them out for a memorable dining experience!

Was in Melbourne for a work visit. Hanging for some Uyghur cuisine and a work colleague had never tried, so this came up nearby. Good quality noodles and generous portions. Bit dearer then other stores, but convenient location.
Imran S — Google review
Flavour packed food and generous servings. All the lamb dishes look and taste great. We’ve tried the lamb skewers, handmade noodles, baked bun and pastry pie which were all so tasty, not oily (even though it sounds like it would be!) and spice levels were adjustable to our varying palates. There’s a large table suitable for bigger groups and plenty of space. They’ve been under new management for a few months. The staff are lovely and enthusiastic about their cuisine.

I came here with my son. We tried the three dishes pictured and bread. It was tasty, but the cuisine isnt much what we like to eat so we probably wont return. Place was clean. Service prompt. Music was just too loud to hear conversation. Parking lot down the road.

Located at 763A High Street, Thornbury, Free to Feed is more than just a cooking school. Founded by Loretta and Daniel Bolotin, this social enterprise offers cooking classes led by refugees and asylum seekers. This not only provides them with employment opportunities but also helps them connect with the community. One visitor expressed their overwhelming delight and profound appreciation for the Ukrainian feast led by Chef Oksana.
My girlfriends and I had a great time learning about Iraqi culture and preparing beautiful, colourful and delicious Iraqi food. Mirvat, our chef instructor was so lovely, sharing special tips and laughs. Delta, our host was so welcoming and encouraging. We’re all excited about trying out the recipes for ourselves now! We’re also looking forward to booking in another food experience at Free to Feed in Northcote very soon. Highly recommend to everyone!

Amazing time with Somaya. The bravery and resilience in her story was tear-jerking and inspiring. The Palestinian food she cooked was just delicious. The hummus and zaatar very refreshing. The Molokhiya gave immediate strength! The musakhan rolls so simple but full of flavor. The Maqlouba with the eggplants and garlic infused yogurt was incredible. But finally the halawet al jebn - cloudy not too sweet with nuts. Just perfection. Special Thank you to the volunteers who make this happen. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to be inspired and enjoy great company!

I attended the Eritrean cooking class led by Aziza and it was excellent. We started off with African coffee and tea with a beautiful freshly baked bread. After, we started making the earthy and spicy chicken stew, followed by the cheese and dill pastries with dipping sauce, salad and donuts with Nutella seeds.. The whole experience was a wonderful sharing of cultures and personal stories. Aziza is warm and generous. After the cooking, we ate all the delicious food and all in all, I'd love to come back.

Ukrainian Chef Oksana is truly a culinary magician! Her borscht was incredibly delicious, bursting with flavor and warmth. The varenyky she prepared were a treat for the taste buds, perfectly cooked and filled with savory potatoes and topped with fried onions. The uzvar was a delightful and refreshing beverage that perfectly complemented the meal. The eggplant rolls were a gastronomic masterpiece, packed with amazing flavors. And can't forget about the cake, it was absolutely amazing, leaving me in awe. Every bite transported me to Ukraine, creating a truly authentic dining experience. Not only was the food incredible, but the atmosphere felt like being at home. I even took some photos to show my friends :-) Chef Oksana is an exceptional chef who truly knows how to create a memorable culinary journey. Thank you, Chef Oksana, for the delicious and heartwarming experience!" Natalia

Had a great time participating in a Colombian cooking class at Free to Feed in Northcote, with the very vibrant Verana as our guide & teacher. The evening was a special experience of coming together with others, sharing stories, food and wine, learning about vulnerable journeys to Australia, and exposure to a specific cooking culture (many experiences and cultures to choose from!) 💛

Thank you Free to Feed! Thank you Oksana! 😀 I am writing to you today to share my overwhelming delight and profound appreciation for the culinary journey we embarked upon.On the enchanting evening of June 29th, me and my family were fortunate enough to be part of a truly remarkable event: Chef Cook Oksana's Ukrainian feast. From the very moment we gathered around the table, Oksana's masterful creations took us on a nostalgic trip to the heart of Ukraine. The varenyky with potatoes and cheese were an absolute revelation. As I savored each bite, the delicate dough enveloped the luscious filling. It was as if Oksana had discovered the secret to capturing the essence of joy in every morsel. But it was not only the varenyky that stole our hearts; the sour cabbage, a dish of incredible depth and authenticity, brought back memories of my own mother's cooking. Oksana's version managed to transport me back to my Ukrainian home, where every bite was an embrace of comfort and love. The perfect balance of tanginess and earthy notes left us yearning for just one more bite, as we indulged in this timeless classic. Oksana's talent and passion for her craft were evident in every dish she prepared. The attention to detail, the dedication to preserving tradition, and the unmistakable love poured into each creation was truly awe-inspiring. It was evident that she poured her heart and soul into every culinary masterpiece she presented, and we were the fortunate beneficiaries of her expertise. I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Oksana for sharing her remarkable skills with us. Her talent and culinary artistry have left an indelible mark on our taste buds and hearts. The evening was a testament to the power of food in bringing people together, evoking cherished memories, and creating new ones. Once again, thank you, Oksana, for an unforgettable feast. Your creations were nothing short of extraordinary, and we are immensely grateful to have experienced them firsthand. We eagerly look forward to your future endeavors and the opportunity to savor your culinary delights once more. With warmest regards, Nadiia

A beautiful evening at Free to Feed celebrating Raya’s Persian heritage. The food was a vibrant mix of salads, vegetables, and meat dishes — as delicious as it was stunning. Sharing stories of family, culture, and homeland made the night truly special. Thank you, Raya and team — we’ll definitely be back!

Cooking class
Brunswick Kitchen is a charming cooking school that offers an intimate setting for culinary enthusiasts of all ages, with classes designed for both adults and children. Led by the talented chef Tracey Lister, who boasts over three decades of experience and has co-authored four cookbooks, Brunswick Kitchen specializes in hands-on learning. While her expertise shines through Vietnamese cuisine—honed during her ten years in Hanoi—Tracey also shares a broad spectrum of cooking techniques.
My bridesmaids organised the most wonderful Vietnamese cooking class here as one of my hens activities. Tracey was fantastic. We all had the best time.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a Vietnamese cooking class at Brunswick Kitchen with a friend, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! The entire experience was truly wonderful. From the moment we walked in, everything was authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Thanks to Tracey, I now have the confidence to prepare Vietnamese dishes on my own. Tracey is a brilliant culinary teacher. She shared fascinating stories from her time in Vietnam and her background in cooking, which were both interesting and heartwarming. Her passion for food and culture really shines through, making the class not only educational but also incredibly enjoyable. The quality of the produce was very good—everything was so fresh, and the portions were generous, leaving us all with full bellies! The recipes were simple to follow, and the class was paced perfectly, so everyone could easily keep up and contribute. I was especially grateful to Tracey for accommodating my dietary request, offering thoughtful alternatives that made the meal just as tasty and enjoyable for me. The location was great, with easy parking and a space that was simple to find, which made the experience even more stress-free. Overall, I have immense respect for Tracey, her selfless community work in Vietnam, her tourism adventures she provides and her cooking school, and I would love to return to try another class in the future. This is a class I would highly recommend to anyone, and Heavenly Morsel certainly gives it our seal of approval!

We had a lovely time yesterday at our Sri Lankan cooking class. Tracey offers wonderful cooking stories and tips all while the group creates a beautiful meal together to share. The food was all delicious and I will definitely try the recipes again at home. You can be super involved in the cooking or sit back more and relax. It was a really wonderful afternoon. I will definitely return to do another class.

We recently celebrated our daughter’s 7th birthday at Brunswick Kitchen, and it was great! From start to finish, everything was handled with such care and professionalism. We had about 20 kids at the party, and they were all fully engaged in a hands-on cooking class led by Tracy, with support from Naomi. The kids had a blast mixing and making dough to make their own pasta from scratch, cutting and shaping it, and then wrapping things up by baking delicious chocolate oatmeal cookies. Tracy and Naomi were absolutely incredible—diligent, kind, and patient. They guided the children through every step, from hand-washing and setting up, to cooking and cleanup. Managing a large group of energetic 7-year-olds is no easy task, but they did it with grace and calm, even when the kids got a bit noisy and chaotic at times! Once the pasta was cooked, the kids enjoyed multiple servings with pesto, followed by their freshly baked cookies. Everyone (kids, parents, and especially the birthday girl) happy. We finished the party with cake and candle-blowing, and though we ran about 30 minutes over time, Tracy and Naomi were so accommodating. We never felt rushed. We’re incredibly grateful for the warmth and patience they showed throughout the whole event. Brunswick Kitchen is a gem of a place for a fun, hands-on celebration, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Well organised, clear explanations, relaxed and fun! I attended one of Tracey's cooking classes. The chocolate lounge offers a tempting selection of chocolates, cakes, and desserts, as well as delicious hot chocolates and coffee. It's the perfect place to indulge in some sweet treats or enjoy a light lunch. The cozy seating adds to the inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for anyone craving something sweet after a meal.
This place was recommended to me. went to try some chocolate after meal. The cafe has a big variety of chocolates cakes and desserts. The place has a limited but cozy seating. Tried some chocolate cakes and it was satisfing. The hot chocolate was also a stunner. I would recommend this place if you feel like grabing a sweet and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Nice coffee with real chocolate crumble. Nice environment as well. But the waitress was irritated when I asked her politely to clean the table a bit and got more annoyed when I tried to clean it by myself because she didn't see or clean the sticky stain at my side. Five stars to the coffee and environment. Two stars for the service.

So. Firstly, lemon tart is very nice. Dessert is adorable. Chocolate is really rich. But I had high expection about their coffee and hot chocolate. Unfortunatelly, coffee is too hot make it taste too sour. The milk frothed very fine but how could it get so hot, I dont quite understand, And hot chocolate is really rich and smooth, but too sweet, and the topping is needless. Last thing, which probably not important, but, I really hope they could change a better plate. White plate with white table is not really good experience for photo.
Jan H — Google review
The hot chocolate were pretty damn good. Comes with a cookie (which is ok). Service could be better, overall good. The cakes mostly (except for the vegan cakes) had gelatine so not generally great for vegetarians.

Utterly terrible experience here. Do not even approach this store if more then 2 people are in here. The staff have no idea how to handle multiple people ordering or completing orders. For a simple menu, only ordering drinks and cakes, it took over 45 mins to complete, during that time our order was drip fed to us making it awkward for us. We were even missing an item, the staff didn't care nor offer a resolution to the missing item. The place is small and when multiple people come in with prams and block any route around the place meaning our slow order took even longer (staff didn't assist or ask people to move their shopping bags, children or prams from all over the place). The hot chocolate and cakes were nice, but wholeheartedly not worth the wait not exuberant price.

The desert are mouth watering and awesome. Reasonably priced and with so many options you will have good time here for after lunch/dinner desert or quick coffee hangout. There are so many things to try and the long list of ice cream will never let you down.

On entering this establishment the smell of freshly ground coffee instantly hits you. And it was as anticipated FABULOUS. I had the lemon tart and my daughter had the triple chocolate mousse and hot chocolate. Everything was excellent

This soul has been dying to have a perfect THICK Italian-style Dark Hot Chocolate ever since eternity (a year to.be honest 🤣). Have tried so many this winter but nothing came close to the Hot Chocolate served by a Cafe on Glenferrie Road but Ganache Chocolate managed to impress us a lot. Another place in our kitty to have that nice, dark, thick Hot Chocolate.

The Convent Bakery is a charming eatery situated in a converted convent, boasting wood-fired ovens and an inviting outdoor seating area surrounded by lush foliage. This cozy cafe offers a diverse menu featuring an array of breads, cakes, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and coffees. For those with dietary preferences, there are numerous vegetarian and vegan options available. One delectable dish that stands out is the Smashed Avo & Feta toast.
This Bakery is so worth a visit, for all ages and perfect for families or your four legged friend. The food choices are wide and varied, freshly baked and soooo delicious. The staff are amazing and the service is so well organised that no matter how busy they are the waiting time is short. You can sit and enjoy your food inside or outside with abundant seating, and then take a walk around to enjoy the very well manicured gardens. Their coffee is great and I love their tarts and danishes.

We decided to have breakfast here before visiting the farm next door, and it was an absolute delight! I loved my eggs Benedict, the others including kids also enjoyed their meals and portions. An unexpected surprise for us was there was a farmers market on, which added some more liveliness to the area (on every second Saturday monthly, $2 entry). There's indoor dining but it's a bit old and gloomy. Loved the outdoor area though, wooden table and benches placed under very large umbrellas to provide shading from the sun in the summer. There's plenty of options for food and drinks. Reasonable pricing. We arrived close to 11am on a Saturday and both breakfast and lunch menus were available. Only paid parking available (supports both the convent and the farm though). Price guide (as of Jan 2025): Eggs Benedict $24.90 Chicken burger and chips $24 Kids nuggets and chips $10 Small mocha $5 Parking: weekends first 90 mins $7.50 (a dollar less on weekdays), +$2 per hour after.

Above average food and service, but what makes this a place to visit is the atmosphere. Sitting down for breakfast under the eucalypt trees surrounded by the historical Melbourne Abbottsford Convent is a serene and relaxed experience to behold. Was there with friends and will look forward to taking my wife there when next in Melbourne. I know she'll enjoy it.

I was a big fan of this cafe until today when I went there to have breakfast with friends. Ordered my food through QR code where in the meal description said ‘with your choice of avocado’ Avocado wasn’t served with the plate and eggs were all dropped, asked the staff and ended up having a chat with the manager as I expected avocado in the meal and that’s why I chose that meal. Manager didn’t own the mistake in the system and instead said I can’t have avocado and when I kindly asked I would love to have avocado as the description in the app as it was my expectation when ordering and seems there is a system error mistake. She says yes I can have it but I’ll have to pay. (For their mistake) Won’t be coming back - staff not owning mistakes and putting it in clients not a great way to do customer service/hospitality.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the suburb of Murrumbeena, Oasis Bakery is a multifaceted establishment that serves as a bakery, cafe, and grocery store. This Middle Eastern oasis has garnered a devoted following and is renowned for its Lebanese culinary offerings such as shakshuka, shawarma, pizzas, pastries, and sweets. The cafe also boasts an array of coffee, cakes, biscuits, and slices.
I am glad I visited this place during the holidays. It was bustling with kids running around and families having their Sunday meals. A happy and warm sight. This place has some exclusive selection of goods like Leo's . They have bought out a massive chunk of space that they can use to extend in the future. I heard they have a kitchen upstairs for cooking classes. The only downside to that is that it might not be wheelchair friendly. Surely a family-friendly place with a great selection of beverages, drinks, food, and desserts. I tried some of their dishes, and zaatar, in particular, stood out to me. I also bought a lemon spritz, which was refreshing in the heat.
Shaira N — Google review
I'm not from around Murrumbeena but I took my car to get new tyres and had a leisurely stroll across to OASIS. And just like a real Oasis this place is an unexpected surprise. The facade is a bit tired and there is the constant humming of passing cars out front, but behind the glass is a new world of half cafe, half supermarket wonderment. Great products and a real surprise... just right for a pit stop.

Good place for eating middle eastern( Lebanese) food. The quality of the food is good. The place has a very good supermarket inside it too, and it has great selection of fresh vegetables and fruits.

The place itself is nice. Plenty of fresh veggies and food. I had a chance to eat good shawarma! I really liked it. Will definitely come back and get some take a way home :-) I should give 5 star however my wife’s coffee took so long to serve. But other than that great place to have a lunch.
Elmer S — Google review
The new menu as they told me was to make it easier to order quicker as popular items were now on a top ten type of list. The disappointment was the fact that the toilets are not for the old, frail or in wheelchairs as these are up a long flight of stairs. Then the obvious need of more staff as the empty trays were building up on the bench above the bins. Would have loved more grilled meats on the menu. Upon the quick reply from the owner which is impressive as that is what good feedback is all about. TOP points there then. So there IS a bathroom DOWNSTAIRS and it would be handy to have a sign for those who are in wheelchairs or unable to get up stairs. This is something that I now make sure we find at any new place we go to as I have friends who have kids in wheelchairs, or my friends are wheelchair bound. So at times I will email the cafe/restaurant before to find out these things. But most have toilets downstairs, plus I saw how BIG your establishment was and thought you certainly would have a bathroom downstairs. But all is good and next time we will ask for the bathroom which is downstairs. Thankyou. But YES more signage needed so we can find that bathroom and am sure some with frail parents or even with kids, would find it easier to go to a downstairs toilet. Well next time I will ask for new things on the menu that I normally don't order so we can enjoy our day out even more.

I’ve shopped at Oasis murrumbeena for about 30 year. You guys have gone from strength to strength. Needed a quick fix a couple of weeks ago and decided on your pizza. Who in their right mind would order delivery from a multinational or even local. Quality pizza 6-8 minutes cooking time and sensational, at half to 3/4 of the price . Good use by period, perfect for drop ins. You guys/gals are exceptional. And always served with a smile. Cheers. Mark Savage

Highly recommend to anyone of any age and any interest. The whole place is wonderful, full of ingenuity and practical ideas around sustainable hospitality, growing and energy use. Cafe has really delicious food with lots of produce from the gardens around. The shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. Playground was a huge highlight for the kids, it’s not like any kind of cookie cutter playground that is made out of plastic moulds. This playground is entirely made from recycled materials. Just incredible !

A wonderful weekend. I had done a cooking class with Anna a few years ago and it was memorable, a lot of fun and learnt a lot. This time we organised a group of eight and did the pasta making course. We made lasagna, ravioli and gnocchi. We were not disappointed. Lots of fun and a great way to connect with people in a different way. I am living proof you don’t need to be a great cook. To do this course. It has enough for foodies and for those that making toast is a stretch. Anna is on the ball and helps you to make it look easy. I was more relaxed I won’t say better because I had done it before. Then we got to eat all we cooked. The best lasagna I have eaten. All shared with a glass or two, amazing food and view. The team building was fantastic. The cannoli fresh are unbelievable and the coffee is the best in Melbourne. You will buy a pasta maker after this course. We will be back.

Awful experience today with the Epping store on 2 counts. Purchased numerous goods, and proceeded to the checkout. One of the items I had was on the basis of noticing a red SALE ticketed price on that item. When paying for this item was charged Unticketed non sale price. I queried this and was told that I needed to have checked prices online before I got into the store!! ' quote " we have too many products to be changing the sale ticketed prices all the time". Unquote. So, i made the decision that i didn't want this item now as it was dearer than expected. Was told there can be no refund, only option was a store credit. I didn't get angry at the time but after leaving the store became very dissatisfied with my experience of the store policies and treatment of the customer on so many levels. What they are doing is illegal. A ticketed price is the price AND all customers must be offered a chance for a refund.

Attended the Kashmiri Biryani Master Class this weekend. Absolutely fantastic. Tanya is very meticulous and professional with her step by step instructions and the participants are very hands on right the way through the class. You learn so much more than just how to cook the recipes. The quality of the organic ingredients used was excellent. I can highly recommend Heavenly Morsel Cooking Classes.

I have taken several cooking classes and this by far was the best. Excellent food and atmosphere. Warm welcoming and friendly hosts. Tanya and Christina made us feel like we were family. I was introduced to spices and combination of spices I would never thought to mix. It was a very hands on cooking class. Everything was PREFECT!!!
Florence J — Google review
This was such a wonderful experience from start to finish, with quality food and instruction. The learnings were well stated, with handouts to allow us to replicate all of the recipes. Plus the group dynamic created by Tanya was beautiful. Many thanks, Kathie and Rob Rushford.

We had such a wonderful afternoon doing the Luv A Duck cooking experience! Some recipes were more involved than others however, with guidance from our chef Heidi, we were all able to produce different meals that ALL tasted so so delicious! Highlight was enjoying the fruits of our labour over a round table at the end of the day. It was a memorable time to do with friends - I would highly recommend!

Gifted my wife, (and myself) for Christmas an Asian inspired cooking course at Luv-a-Duck and absolutely loved it. 4 hours later, 9 recipes, tips, tricks, interactive hands on cooking class we walked away very happy to have tried it, and a very full belly after trying all the courses we made. No dinner for us. Thanks, and Nick the Chef was fantastic

It was a privilege to have our Essendon Royals U17's partake in the cooking class this week. What an experience watching them cook and then taste the food they made. Credit to Luv-a-Duck for providing this opportunity to them and for the wonderful support they provide to the club. They are big advocates of women's football, and for that, we're grateful to have their support. Not to mention, we also get to try their brilliant product at the club. Thank you, Luv-a-Duck, for all that you do. 👏

We recently held our Social Club event at Luv-a-Duck, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The hands-on cooking class was fun, interactive, and a fantastic way to bring our team together. The chefs were friendly and fun, guiding us through the preparation and plating of our canapés. If you’re looking for a fun and unique team-building activity, we highly recommend Luv-a-Duck.

Restaurant quality! After cooking our meals, we sat down & enjoyed them with some cocktails. I would most definitely do this again & everyone has been raving today about how much fun they had. Top place. Not cheap because the products are first class and worth the spend.

So happy that this store is finally going out of business, the staff where so rude all the time not only that if you wanted a discount as you where buying for a restaurant when I had only 1 choice either show me your pay slip to prove you work there or you wont get it, well how the tables have turned. What wonderful news, as I see 90% of chefs refuse to go there and restaurants refuse to shop there I can see why you went out of business. Plus your prices where way over the top !
Mr S — Google review
I called the store this morning as I buy egg white powder from here I asked her where can I source it from now that your closing she goes I don’t know that really good customer service I guess that might be why your closing down you have no customer service at all
Dannii T — Google review
quite a big range of selection, cookbook, utensils, special seasoning. you can always find what you need over here. i was here for an hour just browsing . too many thing to check out
Lee X — Google review
Great selection of products to choose from, especially when it comes to utensils, cookbooks and other accessories.
Thomas L — Google review
I shop here often, even though it is more expensive than most places. However this morning was spoken to by a lady with short dark hair that was quite rude when I was looking for help on where to find a product, which will make me reluctant to ever go back. She was also quite snappy with another staff member that was lovely and tried to assist me. It really made the whole shopping experience unpleasant.
Tamara C — Google review
Wonderful store with so much to see. High-quality goods and the staff have always been very professional and friendly each time I've gone in. I tend to head for the chocolate section to buy couverture chocolate from Belgium. Goods can be on the high side but all in all, a very good resource for many international ingredients.
Alana S — Google review
A wonderful selection of high quality products but unfortunately this store is mostly staffed by some of the most rude, unhelpful and arrogant people we've ever experienced. A great place to browse for the product you want before heading elsewhere to reward nicer people with your hard earned cash. Shame

SAORI Premium Japanese Sauce is a delightful find for food lovers and aspiring chefs, offering an impressive range of sauces that cater to various culinary needs. Whether you're interested in mastering dumpling making or exploring plant-based ramen recipes, SAORI provides the perfect ingredients to elevate your cooking experience. Many have discovered these exceptional sauces at local markets, like one enthusiastic cook who found them by the Yarra River in Melbourne after returning from Japan.
This is our second Japanese vegan cooking class with Saori. Her passion for good, real food is infectious! I always walk away feeling nourished and educated. Not only with new cooking knowledge, but also health knowledge too. Thank you Saori for sharing your passion with us. Your recipes, presence + products are beyond exceptional!
Tania C — Google review
We first discovered the beautiful sauces at our local farmers market and then had to do a cooking course to learn more. Having travelled to Japan many times, it was like being back there with the amazing flavours, aromas and attention to detail. Saori truly captures all of this in everything she does.
Retro M — Google review
Awesome Japanese Vegan Cooking Class and products! Saori is so lovely and welcoming and the food is delicious. Everything was easy to follow and healthy but full of flavour. A must do experience in the Dandenong ranges with a local maker! Thank you Saori for such a lovely time.
Kate F — Google review
We came back from a holiday in Japan (in those times when international travel was available) and so missed the beautiful food. Fortunately we came across Saori at a market next to the Yarra River in Melbourne and sampled several of its products. Since then we have purchased many of the sauces and have cooked several of the provided recipes. Just delightful. Their website is fantastic and very supportive of my cooking. Totally recommended ps we WILL be returning to Japan when the time comes
Dan B — Google review
I discovered Saori at a local market a year ago and as a passionate cook and a Father of a lovely girl who suffers from thyroid issues (Hashimoto's) and has a taste for great cooking, I was pleasantly surprised at the range of sauces available that could meet our challenging dietary requirements. I would easily use Saori sauces several times a week either with our gluten free noodles or just to compliment yummy dumplings and with the different offerings we don't get bored with flavour. I've recommended our local health store stock Saori in case I run out in a hurry but have taken to purchasing in bulk during the covid lockdowns
Tim R — Google review
Saori is not only a really wonderful person but an amazing chef, her sauces are divine and I use them to cook just about everything! I cannot recommend her sauces highly enough and the confidence I gained in the kitchen through her cooking classes have made me an infinitely better cook. Thank you Saori for being so amazing! 5 Stars is not enough!
Lex F — Google review
I learned about SAORI through when we took a cooking class and were blown away with the quality of the class. The sauces are amazing and have become a regular staple in our kitchen. Combined with the recipes, we now regularly cook Japanese at home. If you're lucky to meet Saori at market she is absolutely lovely and her talent and skill is evident.
Noel A — Google review
The curry powder is amazing, I eat so much Japanese curry now, and I love knowing that it is free from nasties such as MSG. Delivery of products has always been prompt and I have even received free recipes with my order! It's great to be able to support an Australian small business and know that the quality is top-notch and authentic!

The host provides guidance throughout the class, ensuring that attendees master the techniques required to create this delightful feast.
What an amazing and delectable experience. We had so much fun and Rosa and husband Vincenzo welcomed the 6 of us into their home for a cooking experience of a lifetime. We felt like we were a part of their family. We learnt, cooked, ate, drank and cooked some more and then rolled out of the house to home. We are still talking about the experience days later. We bragged about our experience and recommended her to our friend's to do the next class. So easy to learn when you have a relaxing friendly teacher. Much love to you Rosa and thank you for the best day. John and Veronica

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of doing a cooking class at Rosa’s. Rosa and Vincenzo created a very warm and welcoming environment. The class was well organised and instructions were clear and easy to follow. Rosa made the class fun and took the time to help each of us. It was lovely to sit down as a group and enjoy our cooking at the end. Would definitely recommend, thanks Rosa!
