1Wollaton Hall

Museum
Wollaton Hall is an impressive Elizabethan mansion located just three miles west of Nottingham city center, surrounded by a picturesque 500-acre deer park. The mansion houses the Natural History Collection and the Nottingham Industrial Museum, offering visitors the chance to explore six galleries of natural history exhibits. Additionally, it gained international fame as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises.
Wollaton Hall and Park is a great trip for a few hours out with family or friends. The variety of wildlife on site makes for a great walk around, especially spotting the deers or heron. There are a few cafes on site which offer snacks or lunches and coffees, with indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend visiting the museum on the courtyard, it is very interesting and the entry fee goes to a good cause.
Hayley R — Google review
I always love going to Wollaton, whether that be for work or pleasure. I recently shot another wedding there and the staff and food as always was first rate. We even got some magical rooftop and golden hour shots up there and in the Prospect room.
Daniel P — Google review
The dinosaur exhibition was our favourite: a life size t-rex! But the museum is so much more than this. With hi-tech activities such as live virtual excavation and building an ecosystem, alongside hands-on experiences like fossil finding and exploring microscopes, this is the best museum weve been to.
Alexandra T — Google review
Went to an outdoor movie for hocus pocus and its was AMAZING! I need to go to more Wollaton events because im never disappointed. I also went to the country music festival here over the summer and it was a blast! I’ve been inside and it was lovely. The grounds are free though.
Katie M — Google review
Such a wonderful place! The castle, the museum, the back garden and the deer park all look amazing and stunning! We had a lovely day.
Shokria J — Google review
Stunning, fantastic experience being so close to deers. And the views from the hall are epic. £15 to go into the museum was disappointing.
Madeleine A — Google review
Came here for a concert. Amazing house and grounds. It was a beautiful day and the house and gardens were stunning. Can see why it's so popular with the Nottingham residents.

A fabulous place to visit! Lots of walks, wildlife and a lovely cafe. Dog friendly and many deer to see

Restaurant
Anoki is an award-winning Indian restaurant with contemporary, stylish decor. They offer Express Van delivery service that allows you to order food suitable for freezing and enjoy them at your leisure later. There is a full bar and free wifi offered at Anoki. The restaurant serves Indian, Asian, Balti, vegetarian friendly and vegan options.
Can’t express it in words !! It was such a heart warming experience. We had got reference for Anoki and we were so excited to try it out. Being new to England, we went in with low expectations regarding the taste, but wow, it was the complete opposite! We were honestly blown away by how authentic the flavors were, just like back home in India. The food was absolutely amazing. Speaking of the chef, he was incredibly generous. When we mentioned that we were students, he warmly welcomed us with a delicious orange-guava mixed juice that tasted out of this world. Will definitely like to visit again♥️
Mrunal H — Google review
Anoki is a fantastic restaurant with excellent staff and an amazing manager. The food was outstanding the rice was perfectly cooked, and both the chicken and lamb curry were absolutely delicious, giving a real taste of authentic curry. I liked that there was a nice gap between the starters and the main course, which made the experience more enjoyable. A great place for both small and large groups highly recommend!
Cap M — Google review
Myself and my friend ate here early on a Friday night. We chose the summer special. Food was fantastic we really enjoyed it. Great value as it included extras like wine, rice and breads. Service was also very friendly. Will be trying the one in Derby later in the year.
Kevin Y — Google review
Food was amazing, if a little expensive compared to other restaurants, that is unless you buy their gold card for a discount, only useful if you dine regularly. Service was a little slow I thought, from the point of being seated it was 1 hour 15 mins for starters and another 30 mins for mains. The quality of the food was top notch and made the visit, the ambience was lacking however, reaurant looked a little tired as did the toilets and the music kept cutting out intermittently which was annoying. Would return but only for an offer, the business model is a bit like dominos. pricing of individual items is extortionate, but if you get a "bundle" it's a lot more reasonable.
Jack M — Google review
We’ve been visiting Anoki for more than 10years and the quality of both the food and service has always been fantastic. We live about 45mins drive away from Anoki Nottingham so don’t get to visit as often as we wish we could. But whenever we get to a game of ice hockey we like to swing by Anoki - hockey and Anoki is the best way to spend a Saturday evening. If you’re local you should definitely give it a try. You won’t regret it.
Georgina W — Google review
We visited Anoki for the first time on Sunday and we were so impressed with the service from Emilia and Akram. The food was gorgeous, so tasty. We had the £50 per person deal which included starters, mains, rice, breads and four drinks each. It’s a luxurious place and we can see why Anoki has won awards. We particularly liked being asked to order our starters and then being asked to choose our main courses when the starters had been eaten. Unhurried, relaxed, attentive service. We will definitely be back!
Karen J — Google review
Beautiful food and well presented. Efficient friendly staff. It certainly has the edge over other Indian restaurants locally. Will definitely return soon. Tandoori Prawn starter and " Curry leaf Cod " were amazing!
Sara N — Google review
Lovey staff and setting was beautiful. They were so understanding and sweet to let my 2 year old make a slight mess at the table. Service was lovely and food was nice. Not too loud and very calm with an ambiance feel to it. It was our first time there so it was a nice experience.

Brunch restaurant
The Pudding Pantry in Nottingham is a popular spot for afternoon tea enthusiasts. The establishment offers a delightful selection of sweet treats, including vanilla scones and expertly crafted petit fours, as well as savory options and a variety of fine loose-leaf teas. With separate menus for vegetarians, vegans, and those with gluten-free diets, everyone can indulge in the delicious offerings.
We used a voucher that we'd been given for Bottomless Brunch. The food was delicious, our waitress Katie was excellent & kept us topped up with drinks. We were both too full to eat the pudding part of the deal so they were packaged up for us to take home. Excellent food & service 😊
Chris B — Google review
Freak shake was very nice and the Pudding Pantry has a wide range of options for everyone. No complaints on the food side 👍 Service was quick and efficiency wasn't an issue 👍 Poor hospitality and people skills: The lady with blonde hair and glasses that served me was cold and unfriendly (no warmth at all) and felt uncomfortable ☹️ I will give it another go next time, hopefully this won't happen again. Overall a mixed experience - food was nice, hospitality was poor (especially coming from a Mediterranean culture)
Ozcan I — Google review
I don’t have a sweet tooth, but reading about the Pancakes with fried buttermilk chicken, that’s interesting! It was delish!! A must try for people who wanna taste the best of both worlds.
Vivek B — Google review
We had a great time at Pudding and Pantry! From quiche to macaroons the food was tasty and the service was fast and friendly. We made a reservation in advance and there was no wait.
Stacey P — Google review
Food was delicious, we all ready enjoyed everything we ordered and while I don't mind paying for good food, £78 for breakfast was a little bit of a shocker. Pancakes, Turkish eggs and 2 breakfasts with a drink each. I had an iced latte and there was more ice in the glass than actual drink paying I think around £4 for a small drink. The food was as I say lovely but it won't be somewhere we come again due to the price. Sorry
Stacey M — Google review
The best veggie breakfast we've had! Quite loud on the saturday morning but still able to have a chat across the table. The staff were so lovely but seemed abit under preasure with the work load. Overall would definetly recommend :)

Lovely food, excellent service, fab atmosphere. Florence was our waitress- she was lovely!
Nikki Y — Google review
My first experience of eating at Nottingams The Pudding Pantry. Really lovely decor and love food. I had the pancakes, and others had the fry up. My only gripe would be as a Canadian that the little pot of maple syrup is really not enough for that many pancakes. It got quite busy as we were eating and we had to ask for the milk for the coffee which wasn't great. Also, the music is way too loud. As we were finishing, the chatter and music were quite loud. People have to talk louder over the music. Overall, it is an OK experience, and we will return to try more Lower stars for the loud atmosphere otherwise great 👍🏻

Cocktail bar

Restaurant
The Alchemist Nottingham, located in a gothic building on King Street, offers a luxurious bottomless brunch experience with signature cocktails and an internationally-inspired menu at an affordable price. The bartenders are known for their expertise in molecular mixology, creating drinks with meticulous attention to detail and adding a theatrical element to the night out. The extensive drinks menu and mysterious atmosphere make it more than just a bar experience.
I just had an incredible meal with friends! The food was absolutely spot-on—from the Spicy Chicken to the Katsu Curry, everything was tasty and well-presented. Sarah's service was lovely, making our experience even better. The cocktails were a highlight too, especially the Eureka Moment, which was perfectly theatre-served. Can't wait to come back!
LM G — Google review
Me and my boyfriend and I recently visited The Alchemist in Nottingham and had a really enjoyable time. The interior is super stylish and atmospheric, with a cool vibe that adds to the whole experience. The toilets were surprisingly nice too — clean and well-kept, which is always appreciated. We tried a variety of small plates; the food was okay overall — decent, but nothing that particularly stood out. However, the drinks menu made up for it. There was a great choice of cocktails, and many of them were really creative and fun to try. The staff were lovely as well — really attentive and friendly throughout our visit, which made the evening even better. We didn't take many pictures. I would definitely return in the future.
Victoria A — Google review
Maybe dependent on time of visit. I was 4 30 to 5 30. Atmosphere was comfortable, not buzzing but we changed seats twice. High chairs- feet dangling was uncomfy. Some individual seats too low then and some parts of leather couch sunken in! Only 2 staff at bar and no one took away dirty empties quick enough. Toilets are away n far. Disabled a bit closer than the gents n ladies! Barman also counted money wrong and was gonna over charge us! Menu looked cool but no beaker available for my Light bulb-which was the main reason why I wanted to order it, as it was on the menu pic outside! No service, we had to collect our own drinks even though there was a wait. Sunday platter offer looked great but we weren't hungry. Not sure if i would return, esp during the day but think night time visit might be more fun???
TomLynda T — Google review
I can't recommend this place enough! The food and drinks were absolutely spot on – everything from the Prawn Lollipops to the Lobster Mac was top-notch. Sarah, our server, was a gem, super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was just right, making it a perfect evening out. Can't wait to come back!
Kimberly S — Google review
I visited for a special occasion on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and while the staff were courteous enough, the service lacked warmth or attentiveness. Unfortunately, the food did little to elevate the experience. The lobster mac & cheese was passable, though hardly memorable, and the £30 steak arrived looking uninspired, offering neither flavour nor finesse to justify its price. The cookies, sadly, were stale and disappointing. The only true highlight of the meal was the churros. They were crispy, indulgent, and by far the most enjoyable part of an otherwise underwhelming dining experience.
Swapnali B — Google review
Bottomless brunch was good and lots of different fun cocktails included which was great. Service was slow even though we pre-booked however it was a Saturday so have to take that into consideration. Good value for money in my opinion as cocktails here are usually quite expensive by themselves and they were reallt stong. Oyster shots were something different that I've not seen before, would reccomend for girls night!
Tia — Google review
I was impressed with this Alchemist, particularly the architecture of the building and the sociable seating at the bar. Sitting at the bar suited me and the American tourists who i was chatting to about Nottingham and other tourist spots.
Paul B — Google review
Underwhelming to be honest. Staff were really relaxed and unprofessional. Upon arrival we had to go up to the bar to ask for a table because they were just distracted and chatting behind the bar. They all looked pretty young and this is probably their student job, but come on, I know it’s a Sunday and they probably wanted to go home, but that did make our experience worse. They took ages to come take our order, my boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask for someone to take our order and even so we were still told to wait. There were only a few tables with people only having drinks, and several members of staff floating about but none seemed to be available to take our order? Fajitas were ok, but nothing special. Chicken was a bit dry and the portion was quite small. There was barely no onions and peppers under the chicken, 🐓 and it was burnt and stuck to the hot plate. Had to scrape the burnt veg off to be able to eat it. And the bad customer service didn’t help. Also a side note, the music was quite loud and made it hard to talk.

This trendy spot invites you to indulge in a clean-eating twist on classic British curry dishes while also offering an impressive vegan menu filled with delightful street food options like chat bombs and bhel puri.
Our first time here… wow! The food was delicious, tasty and filling! We ordered more of the sticky chicken! The atmosphere was just right, not too noisy and the swing chairs are perfect for a fidget like me!! Mia our waitress was amazing! Great recommendations! Friendly with a permanent smile. 😊 Cant wait to bring our friends

We came here as a birthday treat and thought the food was delicious. Our server was polite and attentive and we did not feel rushed. There were steps down at the entrance we went in. However, I think there was a street level entrance. The toilets were up two flights of stairs.
Paula A — Google review
Mowgli is just unreal !! We went to the one in Leicester a few years ago and it’s just as good, infact better, than we remember😍 Indian Street Food.. there is SO much to choose from !! As the dishes are small plates, they recommend having 2-3 dishes each🤌🏼 We enjoyed the Gunpowder chicken (chefs kiss 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨), Mowgli Sticky Chicken & the Mowgli House Lamb, all with Basmati Rice.. delicious !! Oh & the Yoghurt Chat Bombs.. gorgeousssss😍 Honestly could not recommend enough.. we will definitely be back as we want to try even more of the dishes🤤 @jjjourneys__ on Insta ✨
Jess “ — Google review
Enjoyable Indian small-plates style restaurant. I had the butter chicken and the new black daal with a portion of roti. The black daal was really tasty, and quite a substantial portion for a "small plate". The butter chicken was pretty traditional, maybe not as rich as I'd expected, but a very solid effort. The rotis were served in pairs, and were small, a little larger than a CD, with an enjoyable chew that reminded me more of a thick paratha. I left satisfied, and felt the meal was overall pretty good value.
Chris G — Google review
Personally, I will not recommend this place if you are looking for good Indian food. It was my wife's birthday and we decided to go to Mowgli Nottingham but it was a complete waste of money. Every single order was tasteless. We ordered kids' gunpowder chicken it was very chewy and overcooked ( almost burnt), the roti was overcooked and it was crispy like popodum, Puri was over-fried. The House lamb dish was tasteless, and there were hardly any lamb pieces, it was just like a lamb paste. The sticky chicken was a bit better but still quite chewy.
Khurrum — Google review
We have visited other branches of Mowgli and found this one a little less enjoyable. I think the team were under a lot of pressure , it was also a very hot day so maybe there was not enough staff to cope with the amount of people about on this particular Friday evening. Unfortunately one of the waitresses fainted whilst taking our order, again I think the heat was too much for her. My husband helped to get her up along with another member of staff and I had a fan with me which we offered to her, she carried on working but we noticed she had a couple more moments where she was not well, again maybe the circumstances of the day. We couldn’t fault the quality and flavours of the food , we had the sharing meal for £25 per person, the only thing we can’t get our heads round is that the Yogurt Chat Bombs were brought to the table and there was five of them, why was there not six? Five is hardly an equal sharing amount!! Overall it was an ok meal out
Sharon D — Google review
My wife and I had the sharer meal. 25 pounds each. It's good value, three curries two meat one vegetarian, roti bread, Indian style potatoes and yoghurt (lassi) filled starters. With Ice cream for pudding. My wife also had a Mango soda. It was lovely except the starter but wife liked it. The Ice cream looked handmade and crafted well. The chickpeas were very filling.
Robert P — Google review
Love the street food at Mowgli. We had the Chat bombs, Bhel Puri, monkey wrap and the new mango salad. It was all delicious the flavours were individual and outstanding. Connor our waiter was so polite and nice and took the time to chat. A lovely meal as always and will definitely be back!

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Alchemilla is a stylish British restaurant housed in a historic red-brick building that used to be a Victorian coach house. The establishment, led by renowned chef Alex Bond, has earned a Michelin star and gained recognition through appearances on popular TV cooking shows. Offering elevated dishes with a focus on seasonal and foraged ingredients, the restaurant presents five, seven, or ten-course tasting menus featuring options for vegans, pescatarians, and meat lovers.
We were here to celebrate a birthday and our anniversary. The 7 courses are really nice. All courses came in very rich flavour, which I could imagine not always the preference for everyone. But we really enjoyed. The only suggestion to the dishes is on the last course of truffle tart - the tart base was too far to be cut but knife or fork. It would be easier to handle if it goes a bit softer.
Cheng H — Google review
A Birthday Dinner to Remember! Had the best birthday dinner ever at Michelin-starred Alchemilla! If you’re dining here, definitely go for the wine pairings—they truly elevate the experience. Each wine was carefully selected to complement every course, and the moody atmosphere with gorgeous lighting made it even more special. The service was fantastic, and the food? Absolutely incredible. My partner said the duck was the best he’s ever had, and I was obsessed with the desserts and their perfectly matched wines. They truly lived up to their Michelin star! We’ll definitely be back—can’t wait for the next visit!
Nilee G — Google review
This was my husband’s birthday present. It was a 2 hour drive over and was worth every minute! 4.5 hours, 12 courses and 7 wines. Could not fault a single mouthful. Drinks on the terrace to start was a lovely touch. Dan has done an excellent job pairing the wines, I don’t usually like dessert wines but the last two were particularly beautiful. Fantastic atmosphere. Alex was really friendly and chatty and even brought us extra snacks because they were just so good! The mushroom dish was a stunning stand out in a delicious tasting menu. We’ve been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants and this was easily our favourite. Will definitely come again.
Meryl T — Google review
Had a most wonderful experience at this restaurant. This is a place where the chef definitely believes “More is More”. The attention to detail was outstanding and the staff were an excellent team. Our server Molly knew exactly what she was serving us and wow it was a lot to remember. The place has a wonderful charm and there is a beautiful roof terrace.

Absolutely THE best place for date night / celebration food. The team are amazing and the food was superb. There was one hiccup about whether we were having sweetbreads or not but this was the only mishap. The terrace was a great addition since we last visited.

Review for just the upstairs garden cocktail bar. Delicious drinks, great service, lovely atmosphere. Interesting intimate layout. The wooden outdoor furniture seems a bit weathered and could use sanding and treating.
T — Google review
Spent my birthday at Alchemilla — and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. I’ve wanted to do the full tasting menu there for years and I’m glad I was able to make this occasion especially memorable. Started with a glass of Nyetimber Rosé on the terrace before heading inside for a tasting menu that was creative, intricate and full of bold, unexpected flavour. The menu included; 🦪 Oyster with Summer 2022 relish & buttermilk - Genuinely one of the best oysters I’ve ever had 🥔 Hash brown with truffle curd, chorizo jam & cured pork - This was also delicious 🦀 Chicken skin with brown crab & togarashi – a crispy, umami-rich punch The menu then unfolded beautifully across land, sea and forest: 🌱 Celeriac, sour butter & sour bread - We’re definitely team Celeriac (if you know, you know) 🦐 Langoustine, nam jim & fermented fennel 🍄 Mushroom, teriyaki & caramelised ham cream - This may have been my favourite course. The various types of mushroom created such an amazing blend of flavours and textures. 🐟 Trout, miso duck liver & fermented rhubarb 🔥 Sweetbread, lobster hot oil, ranch & umai caviar 🕊️ Pigeon, apricot, rose & merguez 🌲 Blackcurrant wood, pine & beetroot 🍓 Strawberry, sorrel, koji & black garlic The whole experience truly lived up to expectations and the full wine pairing ensured my pictures progressively got worse as the night went on but I can’t wait to hopefully go back again in the future and I highly recommend if you’ve wanted to go then do make the trip!
David J — Google review
Our family party of six had a marvellous time at Alchemilla recently, celebrating my wife’s birthday and the beginning of her retirement. Each course was wonderfully memorable in its own right but as an experience it was amazing. Those member so four group with allergies were accommodated with sensitivity and creativity, so no one felt their experience diminished in any way. The service from the whole team was spot-on, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and had the time to chat, which is rare in so many restaurants these days, but makes for a wonderfully personal experience. Thank you for a great evening! We will definitely be back soon.

Housed in a former Reform Club, Cosy Club is a striking venue spread over three levels. Retaining many original features and design elements, the building boasts ornate detailing and sumptuous seats that transport visitors to another era. Located on Victoria Street near the train station and Nottingham Arena, it offers an extensive breakfast menu until 12pm, featuring classic and healthy options as well as indulgent breakfast butties.
My boyfriend recommended this place, having been to another location somewhere else in the country. I really enjoyed my time here! The building is beautiful and the food was really wonderful. We got lucky and got a seat straight away, but I'd definitely recommend reserving in advance. The staff were really friendly and helpful

14 out of 25 members of our party got food poisoning from the buttermilk chicken! Be warned! So, we recently had our wedding reception here but have also eaten here prior to this. General restaurant (1st floor) is lovely, high ceilings with glass chandeliers and great service. Bar area is on the ground floor and a lovely open space. Events: We held our wedding reception at the cosy club (meal and then evening). Overall, it was perfect! Starting with a really reasonable pricing point for what we wanted and they offered us lots of options to keep the cost as low or high as we wanted. We opted for bacon cobs and fries in the evening which they were more than happy to accommodate. The meal was lovely, we chose on the day from the party menu (again, lots of menu options but we preferred this menu from them all). It was 2-1 cocktails when we arrived, so everyone was naturally straight on this...this did cause some delays in service. My biggest concern through the whole process was communication. Getting in touch with the event planner was extremely hard, emails and no answers. On our actual wedding day it didn't seem like anything that we discussed in the final meeting was then given to staff to work from. Communication definitely needs to be better.

Arrived in Nottingham early, so followed a Google recommendation and visited this beautiful, historic restaurant. The staff were friendly and professional. The seating was comfortable, and the price was reasonable. Ordered a classic breakfast and an oak milk latte. Both were average, okay.

We went there on a Thursday afternoon and it was quite chill. We were easily seated. The menu is satisfying, everything we tried was great and carefully prepared. We really like the cod with caper butter. Prices are fair. Walking in you rightfully think that the star of the show is the beautiful decor, however this place also offers some great and honest food!

Like i stepped back in time. Impressive bar. Had a drink before we went upstairs for the meal. Food was OK. Didn't really think the pulled beef croquette worked. Pasta overcooked. White wine reduction was missing. Under seasoned. Overall quite mushy. The server did her best to look after the whole floor. The place had this smell, which reminded me of an old gallery or museum. 4 🌟

I have been to many cosy clubs and they're all pretty but I have got to say, this one was beautiful! Staff were lovely and helpful too. Food as always was very nice. Always a safe place to go for lunch if you're not sure where to go. Will definitely go back :)

I’m so confused as to why this place has a rating of 4.6 stars. For the ambience of the restaurant I would have expected decent food but the food was either awful or just ..okay.. both steaks on the menu were watery and had blood leaking everywhere on the plate and the feta sandwich looked like something slapped together and not worth its price, they also made it wrong. After sending back the steaks, we ordered the smash burger and linguini expecting the food to be slightly better but the quality of the food was literally Wetherspoon quality. I’m really disappointed in this place. My boyfriend also ended up throwing up when we got home after eating bits of different small plates, the steak and the smash burger so be warned We were expecting a classy way to celebrate a birthday but it was just a disappointment.

Unable to award 5 stars on account of accessibility. It's impossible for a wheelchair user, adaptations could be made but have not. Update: Informed all avenues explored. May I suggest the solution used by all London West End theatres? If they can manage it then so can you...

Great to do but i think when you been once I wouldn’t do it again, staff are really friendly and helpful. Our youngest is 10 and struggled so perhaps suggest being slightly older and stronger.

Axed Nottingham offers a fun and thrilling axe-throwing experience in a relaxed, friendly setting. The staff are helpful, providing great tips to improve your throws. Highly recommended for some competitive fun! Don't let the waiver put you off. It reads more dangerous than it is. Also, don't waste money on the 'private' lane... It does get busy, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Restaurant
Piccolino is a contemporary Italian restaurant located in Nottingham's historic Lace Market. The menu features classic Italian specialities prepared in an open kitchen, making it the perfect spot for seafood lovers and pasta enthusiasts alike. The outdoor terrace makes it the perfect place to soak up the summer sun while enjoying a drink or bite to eat.
We visited prior to a matinee performance at Theatre Royal. The decor was beautiful, the staff all very attentive. Sebastian was our waiter and was fab, full of smiles and very helpful. The food was extremely good, we had the 2 course for £25 and 2 from the group had a main off of the main menu, all of it delicious and made to a high standard. Followed by a desert. On leaving the heavens opened and one of the staff (we didn’t get his name) found us an umbrella to borrow, so kind and helpful. Overall a really good experience and would absolutely recommend and will definitely return.
Helen J — Google review
I had lunch at Piccolino Nottingham branch this weekend and I’ll be going back next time I’m in Nottingham. The atmosphere is friendly. The decor is warm and rustic. The staff are courteous friendly and professional. We had scallops to begin, which were enormous, the crab ravioli and sea bass for our mains and they were divine, seasoned perfectly and good portion size. We finished our lunch off by sharing a super sweet chocolatey creation, which paired very well with an espresso. Piccolino is a little gem of Italian restaurant in Nottingham city centre, within walking distance of the train station and the old market square, and I highly recommend it.
Shahideh S — Google review
Booked dinner at a busy time. Order 2 pastas and the Fritto misto fried seafood combo. Nice decor, vibrant atmosphere, and you are paying for that. The food was OK nothing really stood out ie over priced. Pasta overcooked. Clam pasta was watery, pasta not drained properly? Too spicy, you won't see that in Italy. Small portions. Fritto was undercooked and under seasoned eg the red snapper was mushy inside. Friendly service but watching two servers arguing was not good. There is a 10% gratuity added on. This is a honest review from someone that has travelled to Italy many times, over many years, to over 20 different Italian cities. 3.5🌟. The average score of 4 on here is about right.

We had an incredible experience at Piccolino! From start to finish everything was perfect. Peyta gave us such warm and attentive service – she really made the evening feel special. Magda and Paolo were also fantastic and made us feel so welcome. We all chose different pasta dishes and every single one was outstanding – fresh, authentic, and full of flavour. The desserts were just as impressive, easily some of the best we’ve had in a long time. If you’re looking for amazing Italian food with wonderful service, Piccolino is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return!

Really enjoyed the meal I had , must say the waitress was amazing. She talked us out of ordering too much food in my eyes are bigger than my belly. She was right with her recommendation we ordered just enough food with no wastage . The food was fresh the service was amazing. I will definitely come here again.

We hve have an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Food are fresh and delicious. I love the Caser salad Very much...but the Risotto seems little bit overcook, if this is make some improvements, that will be fantastic. The staff,Cosmin, he is so nice and professional. He came to serve us in the right moment. His explanation and notice are clear.

The staff were so unbelievably adorable and helpful, and didn’t mind putting up with us all! We are a loud bunch :D Thank you for an amazing time and amazing memories made!

Atmospheric place, very good food. The service is very nice. You can see the process of making pizza. Also when you order tartare the staff prepares it in front of you. I heartily recommend delicious Italian food. We were there at lunchtime without a reservation and got a table for 5 people without any problem. I think it's because it was the middle of the week. Reservations may be needed at the weekend. It's better to check before going there.

What can I say - the atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting. The service was incredible, especially Ben who couldn't have been more polite- and finally but most important the food! It cannot be faulted, the pizza is so authentically Italian 🍕 and for dessert the dough petals were so pleasing I couldn't stop even though I was full!

We came here for Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We shared gusto dough petals with tomatoes, crispy shallots with homemade mayonnaise to start- which were delicious. We both went for a ‘Gusto Roast’ - one pork belly and one mushroom pudding. The portion sizes were really generous. I would especially like to thank our waitress Eleanor - she was the most attentive server we have had in some time, noticing that I was running low on gravy and getting me some more. She gifted us a free prosecco and a personalised brownie from the chef. I would definitely return again for the good food in elegant surroundings with exceptional service.

Me a few friends booked a private tour as a gift for a friends birthday. We were not disapointed, it was a lovely ghost walk despite the freezing january weather. We had Tony as our guide who was a fantastic story teller and kept us all entertained for over two hours, plus engaged really well with our incredibly giggly group. Not only entertaining but I felt like I learnt a lot about Nottingham's history too. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

With a variety of courses available, including popular options like creating three rings in a day, participants rave about the well-structured lessons and hands-on guidance provided by skilled instructors. The atmosphere is not only educational but also warm and inviting—complete with delightful homemade treats!
Could not recommend more - we took the Introduction to Silver Smithing workshop with Alys a week or so ago and I have been wearing the rings I made every day since! :) It is truly an introductory course, so even if - like me - me you have never worked with silver or metals in general before, I guarantee you will be able to make something cool to show off to your friends and family ;) And you'll have so much fun too! Alys did a amazing job of explaining the basics of working with silver, made sure to help everyone with their individual projects, and created a friendly, relaxed atmosphere all around. Thank you so much!

Located in Nottingham, Hands on Pottery offers a welcoming and friendly environment for pottery enthusiasts. Run by experienced potter Chris, the studio is well-equipped for various clay projects. The supportive atmosphere encourages creativity and skill development. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced potter, the workshops and classes cater to different skill levels. Participants praise the positive encouragement and wealth of knowledge provided by Chris and Elaine, making it a highly recommended spot for anyone interested in trying their hand at pottery in Nottingham.
It was lovely to get back to classes today following the sadly enforced break. This is a wonderful, inclusive, supportive group that has helped myself and my daughter in law through some tough times. My pottery skills are improving! Losing Chris has been a really harsh blow, such a lovely, talented man. We are all with you Elaine xx

Hands on pottery was a fantastic experience. We had a private session for 4 of us and it was great. Elaine was great at explaining everything and very attentive to us. Nothing was too much trouble. We did this as a family for my 12 year olds birthday and it was a great experience. Thank you Elaine

I booked onto a throwing course about 6+years ago, and it was brilliant. Elaine and Chris have such a wealth of knowledge and their studio is equipped to do anything you can hope to make with clay. I've been coming back to their classes weekly ever since, and even though I've now got my own wheel, I still pop in for a chit chat while I get inspiration from what other people are making. If you're thinking of trying pottery and you're in Nottingham, I couldn't recommend Hands on Pottery enough.

I hardly ever leave google reviews, but I thought I'd just pop this one in here. I was really looking forward to booking with these guys, having been given a gift voucher for my birthday. Working at antisocial hours meant that I first contacted them via email. After a few preliminary emails back and forth about booking a slot, I didn't receive any further response confirming my booking. I then emailed a few more times to see whether I could use the voucher, and received no response again. I tried calling a fair few times but no one answered, and I left a message on their Instagram account. Sadly, I wasn't able to go to the shop to enquire, as I live far away, and now my voucher has now expired. I'm quite sad about this as they clearly seem to do some amazing workshops and everyone seems to really enjoy them! I am probably just someone who slipped through the cracks, but I feel like this was quite an unprofessional way of managing enquiries. I'm sad to leave this review but I hope this really was just a one-off!
Rhiannon D — Google review

Reported to trading standards. I contacted Hands On Pottery on 9th November to enquire about booking onto one of their workshops. They confirmed that places were available and I paid £120 to secure a booking. They did not respond for over a week despite me contacting them multiple times to ask them to confirm the booking. When they replied, they said that the workshop was fully booked and they could offer a refund. I have now contacted them 4 times asking for the refund and providing my bank details. They have not issued any refund and are not responding. Hands On Pottery have now had my money for over 3.5 weeks and are non-responsive. I have reported the business to trading standards.

I booked a workshop with Elaine as part of a hen weekend for a group of 9. We had such a great time and Elaine was really nice and a great teacher. We all said afterwards we would love to do it again. We can’t wait to see our final pieces!

Ran by an excellent potter, facilitator and tutor Chris, this is a very friendly and welcoming environment to learn how to pot. He helps you as much as you need it, gives you lots of positive encouragement and is full of ideas to help your project along. I have been going for six months now and find it good because I work shifts and cannot commit to going every week. You only pay for each session you attend, not block booking and it is very reasonably priced at £4 per hour and then you pay for your finished products by their weight. I also find it very therapeutic to work with my hands and feel very relaxed at the end of each session; plus the added bonus of taking home something that I have created. You can choose to go either on Tuesday or Thursday evenings 6.30 - 8.30pm and there is the potential to join some of the day time sessions too.
