Dropped in for the last pint of the night (Tuesday) here... so very quiet and no food required. The real ale was just right and there was a reasonable selection and under £5 a pint. What drew me here, however was the unusual building - as the name implies, the heritage attached to the pub centres on it's past and the centrepiece being a narrow boat floating in a dock and a bridge across to reach the bar. Very spacious with the toilets on upper levels. I found the staff welcoming and knowledgeable. The lighting was a tad bright but this may have been to encourage final drinkers out!

I didn't try the food here but I was there for the water front festival. The only negative thing to say is that my disabled friends couldn't gain proper safe access as not only was the place so packed full of people but not of the stages blocked the lift that would provide access to the upper floor stage. They went home disappointed which was a shame. However the atmosphere was electric, the bands put on a great show although times ran over so much I had to miss my friends band play. Service was okay but as they were so busy I can't comment on how they would be in normal circumstances. The place is beautiful though, they have taken great care to create something special here. I enjoyed my day and evening.

Hi to the owner of the canal house. I like the atmosphere, beer and service from the staff so much here, but my only complaint is the female toilet. The water in the sink is like dripping miracle water in a desert. It would be nice if it you could fix it :)

Great pub. Nice areas inside for drinks or food. Menu looked good. The outside seating it such a gem though, great view and a perfect spot to catch a bit of sunshine... and there really is a canal boat inside the pub.

We recently chose to have our wedding reception at The Canalhouse in Nottingham, and it was the best decision we could have made. Amy, the Events Manager, and her amazing team went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. From our very first meeting, Amy was warm, welcoming, and incredibly organised. She put us at ease straight away and made sure every detail was thought through. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her…she even met with our DJs ahead of time to coordinate the evening plans and timings! We brought in our own decorations and shared our vision for the day, and Amy and her team quite literally brought our dream to life. Walking into the room as husband and wife and seeing it all come together for the first time was magical. The food was exceptional…it arrived on time, tasted amazing, and catered perfectly for guests with allergies and special requests. We received so many compliments on how efficient, friendly, and attentive the staff were throughout the day. Honestly, our wedding wouldn’t have been as perfect without Amy. She and her team absolutely smashed it out of the park. We can’t thank them enough for the care, effort, and attention to detail they put into everything. Lovely pub by the canal, has the canal and a boat in the middle of it! Excellent service, good range of drinks and they have games you can play whilst in there. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food but it was fairly busy for a lunchtime

Such a cute pub no idea why I have never been in. Their pie was really good and not awfully priced. Pub quiz was mint would have come first if we didn’t have 7 on our team. Also downside is that it was boiling upstairs I felt like I was in a greenhouse. Will be back when it is cooler and I am not gonna melt

Lovely venue, great food, and friendly service. The music was a little bit loud for a family Sunday lunch vibe but otherwise great venue!

A lovely space just off the main square, great for a quick drink or a longer stay. The bar staff were friendly and the drinks and coffees we ordered were spot on. We didn’t order food but it looked equally as good. There’s plenty of seating options from small tables to larger areas. There was a small games library which was nice to see.

Had never been here before somehow but it’s a great old spot which used to be a music hall in nottingham city centre. Good selection on tap, and very busy

Beer was drinkable, just. I left half of it, and I love beer. Dinner also sub-standard; veg. underdone, no crackling, watery gravy and none of it exactly piping hot. Won't be returning. A shame as the building is wonderful. A 😕

A Sunday roast like you were at home. The best trad roast in town. Lovely staff and great beers. Brilliant way to spend an autumn afternoon.

Been here couple of times so it’s time to leave my reviews. Very nice and cosy place to have drinks or enjoy food. I love to sit top floor and enjoy view of hall where people having bit fun. Cool staff and good service. This time they had security at door which was good. They’re serving mix drinks in keg and cask. Good to be here.

Moving from LA to Scotland with our two dogs - 1 night stopover in Nottingham, jet lagged and looking for somewhere central with good beer, good food, and dog friendly. The Keans Head knocked it out the park. Easy to make reservation by email - good back and forth with John. Got there around 8pm, lovely warm and welcoming room - smiley faces behind the bar greet us enthusiastically, knew who we were, showed us where the dog treats were and let us try the local pale ale. Our table was ready promptly and we had fabulous Indian food along with another pint. Service was immaculate, food quality excellent and great value for money. If you like beer - go here. If you like Indian food - go here. If you have dogs - go here. If you fit all three of the criteria, you can’t afford to miss this place. Highly recommended.

A fine selection of cask and keg beers, nice welcome from the bar staff. Indian "tapas" for lunch (although a full menu was available). Traditional pub in a very lovely part of the city centre.

If you like beer, whiskey and or curry this is the place to go. Fabulous Indian Style Fusion Food. Vegetarians & even Vegans catered for according to the menu. My vegetarian friends really enjoy the food here. If you're a carnivore you're easily catered for. This combined with a huge range If draught beers (real ales and craft) and a huge range of Belgian and German bottled beers. You can't book a table and it can get busy. However if you are not in a rush a table becomes free in about 30 minutes or so. It's a great venue. Also as a bonus there are about 30+ Whiskies from Scotland and Ireland.

Very, very good pub. Quite a small space. Good music at conversational level. No TVs. Very reasonable prices for such a good and centrally located pub. Lots of beers, largers and spirits (lots of whiskeys) that are not found in "normal" pubs or supermarkets. One of the best onion bhaji I have ever had. NCP carpark nearby... but why drive to this place! If I come back to Nottingham, I will come back here.

Wow. I can 100% say this was very unexpected. Feeling very hungry looking for somewhere a bit out of the ordinary and out of the way. Lovely small pub. Nice relaxing atmosphere, but where it shines is the food! Had an absolutely amazing lamb shank rogan Josh. Absolutely full of spices and flavours. Nothing like finding a secret gem. I will definitely be back!

We paaed this hidden-away gem on our route to a restaurant & returned for a beer. Totally lovely, with a fine choice of both proper beers & the trendy Kraft stuff. Quiz night while we were there; I wish we had eaten earlier & spent more time in the Barrel Drop!

Terrific selection of craft brews in a charming setting. Comfortable and cosy. We were just in Nottingham for a night and en route to see a band, so our stop was too short. We will definitely return on our next visit. I had the Gelato and it was deceptively smooth and far too yummy. It's a place I could definitely spend a few hours to chill.

I've been on a few times but only visited it in passing. I keep meaning to have a proper session there soon. It's quite a all pub and it's hidden away in a narrow alley right in the centre of Nottingham which makes it tricky to find but it's always well worth it. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and always a great selection of well kept beers.

Visited for my birthday, despite only being a small place they were able to accommodate a group of 8 of us. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and board games made it a great place to spend an afternoon. Even if the beers aren’t your thing, they have a great range of soft and hot drinks. Highly recommend!

I would have given more - we always come in when we go to Nottingham. The beer selection is great and love the atmosphere- the staff are friendly However, now there is a sitting and standing toilet- no toilet facilities specifically for women, we sadly, won't be back. I went to the loo but quickly had to leave as it had been used by a chap before me who had clearly had a poo. I understand when you have to go, you have to go. Sadly there is a distinct difference with most men and most women's toilets habits. If they made the men's into a cubicle with a toilet as opposed to a urinal only, this would be preferable. I wonder what men who needed a poo did- before they were allowed access to the ladies? I'm probably going to get slated for this review but it is an honest one.

Fantastic micropub located in a upcoming and trendy area of the city centre. Excellent choice of beers and ciders you can drink in a great atmosphere.

Went to brewhouse and Kitchen in Nottingham today and used a voucher where you and one other person can get a burger each and 6 ales to taste between you and it was amazing and so worth it! We were served by Tom and Jack and they were both so friendly plus service was great from both of them! definitely recommend and had a great afternoon, Thank you😁

My wife and I had such a brilliant time on the Brewery Experience Day at Brewhouse & Kitchen Nottingham. Ross was our brewer and he was fantastic – super knowledgeable, easy to chat to, and made the whole process really fun and engaging. We got hands-on making an American Pale Ale, with Ross guiding us through each step. On top of that, we had a tasty breakfast and lunch, and plenty of beer to enjoy along the way – what more could you want? Honestly, it’s great value for money and such a unique day out. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves beer or just fancies trying something a bit different. Big thanks to Ross, we’ll hopefully pop back in the next couple of weeks to try the APA! 🍻

Had a brilliant visit to this pub recently and it’s quickly become one of my favourites. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. The food was hearty and well-cooked, and the drinks selection was spot on. A special mention has to go to Sarah, who really made the experience stand out. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It’s rare to meet someone who strikes the perfect balance between being professional and personable, but Sarah did exactly that. She made sure everything was just right and added such a positive energy to the evening. Went here to celebrate my birthday and had an absolutely brilliant time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming – a perfect mix of lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a good meal and conversation. I had the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection – juicy, full of flavour, and exactly how I asked. For dessert, the cheesecake was a winner – creamy, rich, and the perfect end to the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Adam and Jack, two of the younger members of the team, were outstanding – friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, and they helped make the night feel that bit more special. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a great birthday evening!

The people working at the bar need to be woken up, as it feels like they’re sleeping there instead of working. The food was served quickly, but the dishes from the previous guests were not cleared. The beer glass was dirty. Very nice place, but very poor service (not for the first time).

Love Junkyard, being a regular spot we visit for beer. Visited 3rd Jan and decided to have some food there for the first time. Big mistake! We ordered a few small plates, but they forgot the chicken wings. We said we still wanted the wings so they cooked them and brought them out. They must have rushed them, as they were still raw in places! I know meat on the bone can be pink the closer to the bone it is, but there were bloody in places! Thankfully we noticed, spat out the first mouthful and left them. They didn’t smell good either!

Terrific, hidden gem of a craft beer bar. Carefully curated tap selection and a vast array of options in cans and bottles. Interior is tastefully minimalist. Friendly staff as well!

Easily one of the best places to drink in Nottingham city centre. Always a great range of beers on tap (at least 15) plus very well stocked fridges with some great beers from smaller breweries across Europe and beyond. Very friendly service from all staff who know their beers and happy to offer advice and a small taste before you order. Food is great and goes well with the drinks. Outside seating areas (front and rear) for warmer weather and a great atmosphere inside. Definitely worth visiting!

Update: stopped for a quick bite and a beer. We had 3 starters, the lamb kofta, artichoke and halloumi. All were delicious and what trio of food, I recommend trying all three together. I have upped the star rating to 5 now, as the food was delicious and the staff were great. Previous review: Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.

Was recommended this place by a friend. A great shout. Great atmosphere tucked away in a little nook. Its through a small alley so you might have to pay close attention when finding it. Note for cider drinkers: They sell some in cans, but they have no cider options on tap, HOWEVER they do have fruity sours on tap which I'd say are even better. If you're a cider drinker like me and haven't tried a fruity sour before, go on, get one ere, I bet youll like it. Phwoar

Really great building lot's of seating, friendly staff and even manage to meet the brewer who was super friendly. Definitely a place to visit.

I hadn’t been here in years, but stopped by for a quick lunch and decided to check out the menu. I went with the tempeh sandwich, which arrived promptly. The portion was a decent size and the sandwich was quite tasty, though I would’ve preferred better quality bread personally. 3.5 ⭐️

Our first visit for a gig, and what a fabulous place! The building itself is a wonderful rabbit warren full of history, and the Chapel venue upstairs is superb. The sound is 👌 with the sound engineer commanding from the pulpit 🙏 We ate before the gig, and both had the Buffalo Chicken burger, which was excellent, so tasty 😋 There is an amazing selection of 🍻 as to be expected. All the staff were friendly and there was a great atmosphere.

Fantastic to see great effort put I to the vegetarian and vegan options. So much choice, seitan on the menu too which was nice to see I like mine a little tougher so might have needed some battering before the first boil, but I was absolutely thrilled to be able to order it. It was good. The veg was lovely and so was the Yorkie and gravy. Toilets are frankly the worst I've seen in some time. Hot tap completely destroyed, facilities a bit rank to be honest. Service was generally okay, first chap we said hello to was really nice, fella who brought our food order was decent too. Bar staff were unengaged and didn't really seem to care about anything but the basics of why they were there which is a shame. It didn't feel very welcoming. DJ was a nice touch, the soul and soft disco played was really nice. Sort the toilets and the customer experience side of things and this place would be incredible.

Great pub with good food on a Sunday! There was a group playing Irish music which was really nice. After drinking a few pints next to the bar, we moved to another area to sit down for the Sunday roast. It was delicious.

Always love a visit to The Angel - great old fashioned atmosphere! However I’ve knocked a star off for what is (for me personally) a terrible beer selection. I always struggle to find a decent pint here; yesterday I counted on the boards 12 IPA type ales, along with 1 stout, several lagers & ciders and not one bitter. Why do pubs today assume that everyone wants IPA? All I want is a smooth, drinkable bitter like Landlord, Abbott, Old Pecular.

Always a great range of well kept beers and friendly staff. Informal outdoor space provide extra seating for when the pub is full. The menu is Indian based but with surprising highlights. I had the chicken burrito and the rest of my party had curry or waygu burgers. All we're delicious. Would d recommend.

Just had Sunday lunch and was amazing. Sunday dinner burger and a roast beef Yorkshire wrap. The roast beef was to die😋for and an absolute bargain. Will be back😊😊

Visited Saturday 15th July 2023 late afternoon. Been meaning to visit for a while, just never got around to it. Location is ideal if you're around the train station as it's literally across the road. Castle Rocks tap house so obviously has a full range of CR beers; however, as with all CR pubs there's also a great range of guest cask and keg beers alongside a fridge full of craft beer cans and bottles, obviously there's also lager, wine, spirits, soft drinks etc. We ended up eating the loaded fries while we were there, a portion of buffalo and a portion of hamburger, both of which were delicious and reasonable value. Staff were friendly and approachable, the place had a nice atmosphere. The pub itself is a proper old school pub, hard floors throughout and traditional decor with seating out front and a large yard out back. Definitely worth a visit.

Great pub with great selection of beers and great staff. Food is pretty good, crisp selection is wide, and the outdoor seating is lovely in the sunshine too. Great boozer not too far from Nottingham Train Station, great as a place to stop while waiting for that train home.

Return visit, October 2022: Still the good real ale pub that I first visited in the mid 2010s. Castle Rock beers from the well (the brewery is right next door), and at moderate prices. How much you'll gravitate towards Castle Rock's ales is another question, but there's always a wide variety available and they are all certainly the freshest here that they can be. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. I don't remember the covered outside seating from my previous visits, and it's certainly nice to relax out there on a mild autumn evening. Certainly a nicer place to hang out than the sparsely decorated, "colder" BeerhHeadZ right AT Nottingham Station, also far less expensive.

Superb Castle Rock Brewery pub in Nottingham City. 5' minutes walk from main railway station. As an 'away' football fan, have only visited when my team are playing against Forest at The City Ground. Always welcomed by home fans; no rivalry or aggression. Absolutely stunning, superb selection of both Castle Rock & guest beers. + lagers & a good whisky selection! Only sampled food on football matchdays, but if this is an example of normal fayre, then can highly recommend it. Nothing fancy or ponsy! Just basic meals, toasties, chip butties, sausage butties, beef or veggie chilly for example. Staff extremely busy on matchdays so PLEASE be patient with them! They all do a fantastic job. This was my third time coming here on 28.07.2025 and this time I brought my family who flew in from overseas to the UK. We were all really looking forward to it. We arrived at reception at 6:30pm and waited about 10 minutes but no one came to seat us. In the end, we went up to the bartender and were told we had to find our own table — just like a food court. The table we found was dirty and hadn’t been cleared. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, but there was only 1-2 waiter serving everyone. It took another 10 to 15 minutes just to place our order for drinks( 2 beer,2 cocktail & 2 coke), 5 starters, and 4 mains course. After waiting 30 minutes, we still didn’t have any drinks. We asked the same waitress who took our order — she went into the kitchen, then came back and told us the kitchen had lost our order and we’d have to order again. She promised us a free drink as an apology, but in the end, we didn’t get anything at all. Meanwhile, people queuing at the bar got their drinks straight away, while we waited nearly 50 minutes for ours — it was really unacceptable. It wasn’t just our table waiting — the nearby customers were all waiting too. Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived, followed by the mains, but they still missed one of our dishes. When we asked the waiter again, he told us to wait, but after another 10 minutes with nothing happening, we just paid and left. We originally planned to order dessert, but we gave up because we didn’t know how much longer we’d have to wait. Honestly, it was a terrible experience. Despite the beautiful setting, the service was unbelievably bad. It completely wasted our precious time and ruined our evening. I’d rather go to Wetherspoons than ever come back here again.

It makes for one of the most visually interesting and vibrant dining environments you could find in the city, perfectly blending its past as a place of worship and a lace museum with its present as a popular social hub. ​For a fun, tangible souvenir, we took advantage of the on-site photo booth. It’s a great way to remember your visit, costing £5 for four physical prints and including a digital download of your photos, making the unique backdrop part of your memory. ​Making the online reservation was smooth and efficient, and upon arrival, we were treated to excellent hospitality. Our experience was made particularly wonderful by Jess, who waited on us. Jess was attentive, professional, and added a warm, friendly touch to our meal, ensuring everything was perfectly taken care of. Great service combined with great surroundings elevates a simple lunch into an occasion. ​Overall, The Pitcher and Piano offers a truly unique destination for food and drinks. If you’re looking for delicious dining in a jaw-dropping location, this venue delivers on both history and quality service. Highly recommended!

Nice food and superb church setting. The ambiance was marvelous! There’s nothing to complain about except sometimes when you order and pay via the QR code, it may not go through. I didn’t encounter any problem but my friend did, so she had to go asking the staff to check if it was alright and ended up ordering and paying the analog way.

I had the pleasure of being served by Jess during my recent visit to pitcher and piano, and I just had to take a moment to share how exceptional she was. From the moment we were seated, Jess greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. She was attentive without being overbearing, checking in on us just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed. you could tell she genuinely cared about making our experience great. Jess’s positive attitude and friendly demeanor truly elevated our brunch experience. It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and I appreciate how she went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable visit. If you’re lucky enough to be seated in her section, you’re in great hands. A wacky pub inside with a great atmosphere and plenty to see. The toilets are hidden behind a bookcase and unless ask someone or already know you wouldn't find them, made it even more of a fun place to visit.

First visit here and ordered the Saturday 5 plates for £18.50 with soft drinks for 2 or upgrade to a beer/wine £1.50. Only we had 1 wine and a tonic and got charged £23.50?? Staff very offish/were no help so all in all wouldn’t go again.

A fun pub and must visit for any rock or horror fan. A great variety of themed cocktails all I tried was delicious. The food is okay but not amazing, but everything else more than makes up for it.

Food was nice, portion is alright, not big but enough for an average stomach. The decor was interesting and quite special.

The fun Gothic interior is why I popped in with an old friend to grab a beer and hang out for a while. I wasn’t overwhelmed with the choice of ales, but what I had was unfamiliar and not horrible! I’d have preferred something like a Guinness as a decent standard. Anyway we sat downstairs and my friend enjoyed the bookcase toilet door, still looks and works well. It was a flying visit so I’d probably have found a better beer if I’d looked harder. Overall definitely worth popping in for one, especially if you’re in a group and like something out of the ordinary.

Great bar with a cool vibe, upstairs and downstairs seating. Cocktails are amazing and would definitely recommend the war cocktail.

It had been a long while since I'd ventured here and I had a few times with my uncle before he passed away and had the best time. I loved coming back such great music and a lovely relaxed atmosphere even for a lady alone who was only there for the music it was nice to feel safe and not be bothered by anyone I had fantastic night out and can't wait to come back

Great pub for a date night, solo date night or hang with friends! The staff are super friendly and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection! I would definitely return - I don't often eat out alone but after this experience I definitely will again - great "me" time 😊

Really impressed with our Sunday lunch - generous portions and the beef was extremely tasty. Minor gripe is that the Yorkshire pudding had been kept warm so that it had dried out entirely, being almost dusty when eaten. Other than that, I’d say was excellent. I’m not into sports bars so didn’t especially enjoy the match being on while trying to eat.

Wanted to try the new menu after refurb and were excited, ordered 2 of the chicken schnitzel and were enjoying our meal until we discovered it was raw inside. Both of us were put off our meals and ask for the dishes to be taken away. The main issue was that there wasn't an apology, and as we both ordered the same dish we asked to be refunded and the waitress was rude and only offered to refund one and said "yours isn't raw" to the other dish. We were eventually fully refunded. Not normally one to write reviews but felt this needed to be addressed.

What a superb place to visit for lunch and not overly expensive either. My friend and I had an enjoyable visit, the pub wasn't busy, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Nottingham and another tasty lunch here.

A wonderful meal for my partner's 30th birthday. We had a lovely table upstairs and the food was delightful. A big thanks to the staff who brought out a birthday cake after the meal which we'd left behind the bar. We all thoroughly enjoyed the roast dinners and look forward to our next visit. Thanks again

Had a couple of meals at the Cross Keys recently. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, particularly tasting new beers. The food is super delicious. I am a big fan of the sausage and mash and the really tasty gravy. Friends had sandwiches which were really full, fresh and well presented.

The food was excellent and our server was 10/10. We got the burger which was cooked perfectly and the steak and ale pie which was absolutely delicious with steak that melts in your mouth. Highly recommend and would totally go back.

My partner organised my 50th birthday to be held here yesterday 20/09/2025. At first all was good until I saw the food that he had paid £300 for, 3 small trays of finger sandwiches, a bowl of salad a tray of pork pie and sausage rolls and 2 very small slate boards with cubed pork belly chunks and chicken skewers. Be lucky if the amount of food cost £100 let alone £300. Was only enough food for 12 guests nowhere near for 24 people, he only booked it there as it said it had a skittle alley and I play in a woman’s team every Thursday through the winter months, this wasn’t a skittle alley at all there were pins on a plate on a carpeted area and the balls were more like rough coconuts, you couldn’t play at all. All in all you could say that my birthday celebrations were ruined. The manager jade didn’t seem interested in what we had to say about it.

Brilliant beer focussed pub close to the the City Ground and Trent Bridge.

I booked the conservatory for a small family gathering and it was just perfect. Really cosy with strings of twinkly fairy lights, and super warm despite it being January! The buffet food was lovely and we really enjoyed having the space to ourselves but also having easy access to the bar and the excellent choice of beer. Thanks to all of the staff who were so hospitable and helpful.

This Castle Rock pub is great. Lots of space and lots of outdoor space some of which is covered for rainy days or shade for sunny days. We went with friends for a Sunday roast. Food took quite a while to come but when it did we totally forgot about that. It was amazing and huge! Good value for money. There were so many different veggies, roast carrots and potatoes, mash, green beans, broccoli, red cabbage and then a huge piece of stuffing, Yorkie and the meat. And one of us had the veggie option which looked good. My husband made the comment that he’d have liked it on a bigger plate but then we decided that we actually liked it all piled up as you kept getting surprises as you went down through it and the food stayed hotter. The beers at this pub are brilliant. They have a huge range of craft beers, real ales and more. We sat in the conservatory to eat then moved outside for a final drink in very slightly cooler air. The staff were friendly.

There is no better pub chip than the embankment pub chip. Whatever alchemy is happening in their kitchen is truly beyond my understanding but I am grateful for it. Nothing is crispier and fluffier than a chip from the embankment. I would name my first born Embankment Pub Chip were I blessed with an offspring. I just finished a bowl of embankment pub chips and i am already tearing up out of grief but also .. gratitude. Thank you embankment. Also very nice staff and lovely pints.

This pub is in a formerr Boots Pharmacy and is an historic building. It has an interesting and varied menu and the staff are very helpful. I have taken my walking group here several times as the Embankment pub is just yards away from the River Trent where some excellent waterside walks can be enjoyed. Ask the staff if you can see the upstairs rooms which are amazing and used for weddings. A very interesting venue.

Great food, great service and a pleasant experience all round! The only thing lacking was a bit of background music or some atmosphere, it was an empty Wednesday afternoon, we were the only ones sat in the conservatory bit and it felt a little flat. Other than that, it's a great place!

My partner and I come here often, great little local Castle Rock Brewery with good drinks and really good food. Staff are always polite and love that Bread & Bitter are dog friendly too, providing water bowls and treats. You can tell the chefs actually care about the food as they cycle specials and the food is all good quality, fresh, hot and great portions. My partner’s favourites are the halloumi bites and nachos, and my favourites are the fish and chips and Greek mezze platter. The only thing we have found average are the pizzas, the base is very doughy and cheap tasting, but everything else is amazing. Would love to try the curry when I can. Highly recommend!

We drove 1.5 hours to get here because my partner was dying for a hangover vegan roast. The roast did not disappoint; the vegan meat was seitan, which is preferable for us compared to other options you'd typically see (nut roast, mushroom wellington, etc.). It was a very decent portion and I thought it was great value. We came on a Sunday and thought it was going to be very busy, but weirdly it was not, so the atmosphere was a little bleak. It's a shame because the pub is very nice and comfy inside, and they have an excellent selection of ales on tap 🍻

The food was amazing. We had a chicken and lamb Sunday lunch. A good sized portion and very reasonably priced. We had GF Chocolate Fuche cake with custard and sticky toffee pudding with custard. Both were delicious! I would highly recommend a visit! We had booked an outside table and were running late. We called to let them know and they were very understanding. Service was excellent. The B&B is looking very tired and neglected. The beer prices are extortionate. with Wetherspoons next door a lot of high spending regulars to the B&B have moved venues. Some of the staff are fantastic. others seem as though it's a chore. It used to be good, now it's poor.

We also want to give a special shout-out to Joe and Cam, who were absolutely brilliant on the day. Their support, energy, and kindness helped make the event such a success. Service was decent, pizza was nice, a little pricey but was expected. Atmosphere was fine. Would recommend for a few afternoon drinks

Both Joe and Sophia were very attentive and welcoming. We popped in for a drink and a bite to eat, and didn't expect how good the pizza was (Joe top work). Both my wife and I would recommend coming back, thanks for making our wedding anniversary quick drinks perfect.

Had lunch here today. Joe was great and made some really good pizzas. The nachos were good but not amazing. Atmosphere was OK but we were the only customers sat inside the whole time we were there.

Dropping by for a pre-theatre drink. Great choice of keg beers and samples offered freely. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Nice buzz to the place even early evening in the midweek.

Great service from Joe, who had a wealth of knowledge about all the beers on offer. Joe was running the whole place solo (it was Sunday lunch time and fairly quiet) but still managed to accomplish everyone’s food and drinks orders, preparing and cooking our food himself whilst also engaging with all the customers that came in during our visit.

This is a Lincoln Green pub. It has a good range of beers but they are mostly their own. It has a couple of nice rooms but is a little tired in places. It was early when we visited and quiet.

Fantastic traditional pub with great selection of drinks, friendly bar staff, outdoor seating and chill out areas. The prices were really good compared to the city centre so it's definitely worth a walk up to if you are visiting Nottingham. There was a beer festival on for the weekend when we attended with some excellent local hand pulls.

A place with an impressive selection of gins, lagers, ales etc. Different places to sit in. Thankfully lacking university students. Our drinks bill came to £30. This would have been nearer to £120 in my home town. Definately worth visiting. Food menu looks great but didn't eat. Lovely atmosphere and great bar staff. Nice to see this place still have jugs for ale.

Staff were very friendly, food was excellent and astonishingly cheap (2 burgers or pizzas for £15), great selection of beers and ciders. Cannot recommend this place enough, don't judge a book by its cover.

Hidden gem. Beer and service is not just good value but excellent. Beer garden is exceptional. Definitely worth a visit :)

Sir John Borlase Warren.  Situated at Canning Circus where Nottingham's 3 avenues - Derby Road, Ilkeston Road and Alfreton Road converge.  Good selection of both cask Ales and craft beers as well as gins and whiskies.  There is an outdoor heated seating area.  On this occasion this was hired for a private function.

Was quite quiet when we went in, however the service was fast and they brought our drinks to the table. There are also plenty of board games to play which are free. Not too expensive for a pint. Dog friendly too.

The music is too loud, there was no band or singer on so it was just background music it was so loud you had to shout to hear a person next to youi do not have a problem with loud music by when you go to a pub you expect to be able to hold a conversation. The music was a level you would expect at a night club no a pub.

Lunchtime, looking for a decent coffee but all the usual haunts are ridiculously busy. Stumbled across this place with the 200 Degrees logo outside - always a sign of quality coffee. Nice venue, friendly service and REALLY great coffee at a reasonable price.

Was a nice surprise to see an old acquaintance behind the bar. Really good service, affordable drinks and just easy going atmosphere.

I love this little place, wish it was a bit more exposed so that it might get some more foot traffic maybe! Whenever I go it’s always empty. Either way, their beers are great and it’s the only place in Nottingham I would go for my fancy beers!

Amazing Nottingham gem with a large selection of top shelf craft beers. The staff are knowledgeable and on hand to help whenever needed. A little tight inside for when more than one customer is browsing - but I guess this adds to the 'cavernous' atmosphere! Highly recommended for special gifts or a bit of beer fuelled self care!

Love this shop, they are always so helpful if you have any questions and they always have a varied/interesting and amazing range of beers. The beers are priced very fairly and you always get what you pay for and more. They always have a great range of sour beers which is great because I can't find that anywhere else in nottingham. If you like craft beer you have to visit this place!

Great beer shop, that always leaves me with FOMO, as I couldn't possibly buy all the beers that I'd like to try. The social media posts of the new beers never fail to excite me. Always a good range, that meets most palates. Prices are clearly labeled, so you can always stay within your budget. Lovely to see a small business thriving. It's pretty much a toy shops for beer lovers!

A great little shop with an impressive range of beers squeezed in. The knowledgeable staff are always happy to talk you through the beers and recommend options to suit your tastes. Prices are reasonable, and bonus points for everything being refrigerated. Being able to look through the beers on their website and then click and collect in store is also a massive plus.

Ordered from them 3 times now. They have an amazing, diverse beer selection; you can tell they really have their finger on the pulse of current craft trends and breweries. Excellent customer service; responses are prompt and helpful. Looking forward to receiving many more parcels from them in the future.

Good selection of beers and ales, not so much on the spirt side. Great place to watch sport and onlybaroind the corner from the Motorpoint arena. Toilets were very grubby, and no hand soap also had an unpleasant smell. Staff is very good and has seating outside and lots inside.

Just been there for a drink as it was a hot day and ended up spending more time because they have very nice craft beers. Tried whatever I cloud try without being drunk 😅. Nice cosy place, big room, live music with good service. Outdoor seating available.

Excellent choice of beers cask and keykeg. Would mark it higher but the toilets are disgusting. I am guessing there isn't a manager in there, just students working behind the bar as I've never seen anyone twice and we have visited at least once a month for the past year. Visited again yesterday and hooray, toilets all refurbished. Will be going more often again now. Thank you.

Nice place, big screen - good food from the Bomba part. A bit pricey drinks wise.

We had a veterans reunion here. We hired the private room upstairs and booked a buffet. Room was shabby and could do with a good coat of paint. Toilets unclean and needed a good hoovering. We managed to make it presentable by purchasing garden lights. Positives- private bar and our barman - Jamie - fab Negatives - the buffet was awful. Apparently the lady making the buffet went sick at the last moment. The manager did offer us pizzas but our guests preferred the money to go behind the bar. Positives - free bar lasted a lot longer.

This is a nice "traditional" old style pub , with outdoor seating, with parasols over the tables, where you can smoke outside.... Face masks now NOT mandatory , for inside drinking....But, a good choice of wines , beers spirits, inside..... Friendly bar staff,.... And looks like it's a local for the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey fans , as there's ice hockey team shirts in there, and other ice hockey paraphanalia, on the walls. It's right next to the Nottingham Motorpoint Arena where they have music concerts........👍👍 Prices seem ok.....

Good selection of beers on the go and worth the slight walk to the end of Hockley from the centre to try them. Usually busy with a nice outside area.

Located next to the train station in what would have been the cabman's shelter it's a small, modern but fairly basic micro pub. Decor is basic but perfectly comfortable, there's outside seating which is excellent in the summer. Beer choice is excellent and surprising for such a small venue with cask, craft beer on keg, a couple of decent lagers (don't expect Carling, Fosters etc), proper ciders, craft and continental bottles and cans, bottled cider, spirits and soft drinks. Keep an eye on their social media and Untapped as they get in some seriously good and quite hard to find beers. No food as such but crisps, peanuts etc are available. Staff are great, really friendly, approachable as are the customers. Highly recommend visiting.

Update, October 2022: Nothing has changed here: Good, often rare craft keg beer served at elevated prices (A pint of Verdant "Endless Horizon" APA, 6.5% cost me UKP 7.50, the most expensive beer on my 10 day trip), same very sparse furniture. Attracts a mixed crowd, old and young. Good place to drop in for pint, not so much one to linger. Two or three tables outside. Quick service. BeerHeadZ is a fairly new, modern-style pub next to Nottingham Station that offers a very good selection of craft beers at elevated prices. Knowledgeable staff, functional "décor". Not really a place to comfortably linger for longer periods of time, but great for a solid craft pint when arriving at/departing from Nottingham by train.

Wonderful little pub next to the station. Super friendly staff, great selection, and plug sockets for all your devices so you don't die of boredom on your train journey. Strongly recommend. Also, all allergens are listed which is amazing!

Popped in here when I had 45 minutes to wait for my next train connection. Easily found as about 5 minutes walk from the station ticket barriers. Had a pint of a blonde beer - not cheap but very pleasant on a hot day. Has USB charging facilities for mobile phones. Definitely worth a visit if passing through the railway station.

A great little micropub just outside of Nottingham station. A god selection of beers you are unlikely to see in many other places! It's small, but it's worth a visit!

Decent pub for a swift pint. Always a good selection of beer at reasonable prices. Arrive early for your train on purpose so you can stop here before the journey.

Brilliant little micropub right next door to Nottingham Station. Excellent range of at least 6 ales or craft beers and 4 real ciders (if not more) plus an extensive can and bottle menu too. Staff are knowledgeable about welcoming and samples are encouraged to find you the perfect beer in gloriously oversized glasses. Its tiny so don't always expect a seat. As the sign above the bar says "the management take no responsibility over missed trains" so take your time to enjoy this little gem.

Visited Sunday evening, whilest it's a nice pub with a good range of drinks . It was uncomfortable hot, not due to the weather it was a fault with the heating. On mentioned to staff they explained the fault, nothing done. I visited the ladies' toilets, only 1 available. Unfortunately, the sanitary bin was overflowing and positioned inches from the toilet, so with the heat, the smell was toxic in small space. Please see photos

Had the most amazing afternoon tea. The service from Carl was impeccable. He was attentive but not imposing, faultless. Pot of tea refreshed, glass topped up. Chef, Christine came & checked everything was ok. Beautiful scones & meringues were perfect. I honestly can’t fault anything. Thank you. We’ll be back again.

Came here with a friend because we both won free pizzas at the freshers fair, we ordered the mama mia pizzas and despite having vegan cheese they were delicious nice pizza dough and fresh toppings. We came in 10 mins before the kitchen closed ( fyi closes 4pm) and the staff were nice enough to make us pizzas still. They have VERY delicious mayonnaise here wow it's from sauce shop. The decor is really cool and the pub feels quaint and cosy. Could be a nice place to bring mates.

Putting this on here mainly to see if anyone else has experienced this. I have historically enjoyed the cock and hoop (I even stayed in the adjoining hotel before my wedding), but I’ve had two strange experiences recently. The last two times I have been here, I have asked for the daily deal advertised on multiple signs - the first was a pizza and pint deal in March, and the second was their wine Wednesday deal today. On both occasions, I was told that the deal was no longer running, despite the sign being outside (one of which would have had to have been actively put out that day). On the second occasion, I was told the deal had come to an end two weeks ago - in which case, why was the sign out? To further thicken the plot, their Instagram post exactly 2 weeks ago (the day I was told the deal had been cancelled) advertised wine Wednesday, with no indication that the deal was coming to an end. I find this baffling, and really damaging to my opinion of and trust in the pub. If you are not running a deal, that is fine, but you should make sure you are not advertising this deal. It may well be that I was just unlucky, but the repeated incidents makes it feel as if the deals are not real!

Charming place with great history, delicious local cask ales, ciders and beers. A must visit after your museum tour across the street. I had a wonderful chat with Ash and another bartender I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of. Both are super knowledgeable about the drinks on offer and about Notts history. Also met Alex, who was only on her second day working at the pub but she seemed to fit right in! I will definitely visit again!

Sunday roast was good, but we asked for medium rare beef, but it came cooked. Dessert was so good! Overall, everything was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Would come back.

Love this little cafe bar tucked away in an inner courtyard in the Lace Market. Fabulous selection of beers including some Belgian favourites on tap such as Cherry Chouffe and Bruges Zot. Friendly staff and pleasant garden if the weather permits.

Interesting beer selection and cool little place with outdoor as well as indoor seating. Was pretty empty when I went, but I get the feeling it'll get busy closer to the weekend.

Quiet when we went in. Staff member who served us was perfectly indifferent. Food was tasty though. Went next door to the Junkyard and the welcome was just so much better- engaging and enthusiastic about beer!

I've been to Nottingham several times in recent years and have to say, never knew that this place was here, tucked down a side street, which is a real shame as I would make this (like Ye Olde Jerusalem) a go-to place. Never seen so many fruit / lambic / sours on a menu. I don't actually like them but my partner does! Have a really nice vegan burger and fries and a really nice pumpkin stout. Very busy, lots of different groups catered for, tables of young guys playing cards, young families and older beer drinkers like us. Very friendly, smiling staff makes you feel really welcome... Quite keen to take others here....

Warm atmosphere in this historical pub based in Nottingham city center. Hand made food Is over the top. Good selection of beers and live sports on TV. This pub is dedicated to the A.C. Milan founder called Herbert Kilpin

This place is really starting to buzz! Loads of really interesting start-ups, food and drink places, microbrewery and even a brand new cracking good music venue "The Grove". Going from strength to strength.

Wonderful place, an old fruit market now converted into independent shops. A wide range of goods on offer from local artisan beer, jewellery, art materials, interesting knick-knacks and a very talented sculptor. Great coffee shop on hand, what more could you want?

Just a short tram ride out of the city. The tram stop is just outside. You are going to be seated outside, so beware if ifs cold or rainy. Good choice of beer and well worth finding if you're in the city.

Visited Saturday 15th 2023 early afternoon. Been meaning to visit for a while but it always looks a bit of a hassle...it isn't, it's incredibly easy, just jump on a tram to either Hucknall or Phoenix Park, get off at Shipstone Street and it's across the road...it really is easy. The tap house is outside; however, lots of it is undercover so rain isn't a major issue, it's actually really nice, it's been really well thought out and built. Toilets are inside and deserve a special mention as they're really nice, other tap rooms should take note. Beer wise it's predominantly keg alongside a cask offering and a large selection of cans and bottles, no food is served; however, there's bar snacks and they do have food trucks occasionally, check out their social media accounts for details. Well worth a visit.

Nice little brewery tap on the outskirts of Nottingham city centre. Basic set up but it’s well done ( sheltered and heated outside seating) Selling from keg, cask, bottle and can. The session pale ale I tried was lovely. Friendly behind the bar. Also sells breweries merchandise . Good eclectic choice of music playing. Recommended if in the area 🍻

When we heard that our favourite Corner Stone Pizza from Sherwood was starting a residency here ,we just had to go. They will be down there on the first Thursday of every month at the taproom until Oct We took our doggies with us as they were so dog friendly. On arrival, we managed to grab a table before the rush. Before getting a drink,we placed our order pronto. As we know, they are popular and sell out. The menu has a choice of five pizzas. But you can mix and match the toppings to suit as they list some as extras. Plus there's dips too. Our choices were Chicken Roast Red Peppers / spring onion / Ginger-Chilli caramel / crispy shallots/ sesame / mozzarella £12.50 The other was on the menu as Basil Buffalo Mozzarella / Parmesan £10. Plus two extras Salami Milano / Nduja £1.50 each. Oh,and a garlic mayo dip £1.50. All the delicious pizzas are cooked fresh to order. There's the added bonus,they go great with the amazing choice of beers. They were pretty busy when we left,so make sure you get in early and keep an eye on their socials so you don't miss out.

First visit here which was long overdue! It’s a great use of space and some good beers for craft lovers! It was all going very nicely until the Morris Dancers turned up!!

Excellent taproom near the Shipstone Street tram stop in Basford. Lots of interesting sour beers on offer and plenty of outdoor seating for a hot summer day.

Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.

Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.

Lovely grounds, plenty of deer and a nice walk in fresh air. There are toilets, a café and gift shop.if you need them. You need the Ringgo app to park and pay £6.10 for all day.

The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.

Not the best of days from a weather point of view but certainly from the number of people there. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully on the next visit go around the house. The cafe coffee and smoked bacon baguette was superb imo.

Recommended by a friend in Ohio, and what a recommendation! I had lunch after touring Nottingham Castle, which I would recommend as Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is in a cave under the castle. Like all structures of this era, the ceilings are quite low and the stairs and rooms are quite twisty and full of surprises. The staff was so nice and efficient. I ordered at the bar downstairs and had my meal delivered to a table on the next floor (see video). I’ve taken many trips to the UK, and frequented many establishments with signs claiming the “world’s best fish and chips.”. The fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The chips were not greasy at all, and very flavorful. The highlight was the fresh peas! Bursting with flavor. I rate the fish and chips second only to the Mayfair Chippy in London, however, the ambiance and experience takes it over the top even if you’re only slopping by for a pint.

Visited for the first time for a Sunday roast. Best to go before 12.30pm so you can get a table and the Sunday roasts are still available. Ordered the beef roast and beef croquettes. Delicious and reasonably priced. Service was splendid. Inside the pub was literally still like a cave. I will definitely go back again.

After visiting the castle and surroundings places stoped here 1st just to take photos and check out the pub but ended up having late afternoon meal. The food was tasty and the atmosphere gives it a cosy and nice vibe. Best was seeing people talking and not with their faces glued to the phones. It's a little tight inside but that's what gives the pub a charm, combined with it beenig carved into the hillside. The staff was very nice, good service. The pub was clean and despite beeing full no bad smells inside. The bar offers a nice variety of drinks. Outside seating with plenty of tables and an inside smaller court. The outside seating comes in handy in warm sunny days to enjoy food and drinks with friends or family. There's on street paid parking next to the pub. Will be returning when visiting Nottingham again.

It was very easy to give this historical 12th century pub nestled into the caves of Nottingham Castle a maximum rating. I received very good bar service and a generous discount being a CAMRA member. The bartender was quite knowledgeable about local ales and some of the history of the pub; even the regular customer propping up the bar, was keen to chat about both subjects. I can imagine that as autumn becomes autumnal with howling winds, the cooler temperatures and the long nights, this pub will be a gem for supernatural thrill seekers. Will definitely return very soon!

Well this really is a very special pub to visit. Its an absolute gem of a pub carved into the sand stone of Nottingham Castle. Its possibly the oldest pub in England but wasbis for sure is the warm welcome from the staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable of the ales and beers on offer. Lots of great seating inside and out and super fine ales. The beer choice really is very good. I look forward to coming back again soon.

Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem is a great little pub. It is partially underground set in a cave, so a very interesting setting. There is a really good menu catering for almost everyone. Vegetarian, and vegan options available, and for people with specific allergies. The food arrived promptly, and was delicious, as well as generous. Very friendly, and attentive staff behind the bar. Great range of beers and ales. Must go back as I only had two! The others look very inviting and attractive to lovers of Real Ales. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.

We celebrated a special graduation dinner at Botanics in Nottingham with Naina and friends, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional – every dish we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. From starters through to desserts, it was evident that each plate had been crafted with care and creativity. Even the non-alcoholic drinks were outstanding, which was a lovely surprise — thoughtfully created rather than an afterthought, and perfect for those of us not drinking. A huge thank you to Kate, who looked after our table. She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. Her recommendations were spot on, and her warm service really added to the occasion. The atmosphere at Botanics is another highlight — stylish, relaxed, and full of character, making it feel really special without being stuffy. It was the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Overall, I can’t recommend Botanics highly enough — delicious food, amazing drinks, wonderful people, and a fabulous vibe. We left feeling so well looked after and already can’t wait to return!

We left two boxes of decorations the day before and the lovely Charlotte went above and beyond to make our space look beautiful, way more than I could of expected! Nothing was too much to ask we felt so welcome and relaxed with the team! Honestly I don't think we could have had a better experience or service even if we'd spent thousands and thousands! We spent mother’s day here tonight and it was incredible. Our server Teonie was brilliant, she was so polite and friendly to us all night and even helped us decide with our desserts. Such a beautiful place too filled with a great atmosphere and wonderful service. Tasty food and great drinks too—we’ll be back!!

We had a lovely time, on a busy Saturday, having the bottomless brunch. We could watch the drinks being made at the bar and they were deliciously fresh and tasty. The food was vibrant, just a shame two of the dishes were unavailable. The team were polite, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. T and Layla were so friendly and made the experience even better! It was so sweet to be recognised by Layla from the baby group at the botanist I used to go to on my maternity leave. Great customer service!

Came in around 1800 with a reservation for 1830 got seated super fast anyway which was lovely. I had the cheeseburger with a side of flat bread, which normally is served with fries but had chips switched with no trouble. My partner had the pie of the day. Both were incredible and the service was near flawless. Jack, our server, was incredible with brilliant and professional banter also. For dessert (no pictures sorry) I had the sticky toffee pudding which again incredible and my partner had the cookie dough which was amazing. A truly satisfying meal. The overall atmosphere of this delightful place is incredible. Very unique with an intimate feel and all round amazing. Two courses with a cocktail each and a soft drink for a hair over 80 quid may seem pricey but I assure you it is well worth it.

Went for the Sunday Lunch and was very tasty along with the 3 sides. Both the beef and pork were well cooked and lots of flavour on the plate. Bottomless Yorkshire's and gravy is a nice touch. Unfortunately no cauliflower cheese on the day but the roast is good value. Drinks on the pricier side but overall a great experience and the waitress was friendly

Beautiful bat with a wealth of different cocktails. Live music and good vibes. Only scored 4stars as it cost £20 for two drinks but the place itself is lovely and I would definitely return.

A Birthday Dinner to Remember! Had the best birthday dinner ever at Michelin-starred Alchemilla! If you’re dining here, definitely go for the wine pairings—they truly elevate the experience. Each wine was carefully selected to complement every course, and the moody atmosphere with gorgeous lighting made it even more special. The service was fantastic, and the food? Absolutely incredible. My partner said the duck was the best he’s ever had, and I was obsessed with the desserts and their perfectly matched wines. They truly lived up to their Michelin star! We’ll definitely be back—can’t wait for the next visit!

This was my husband’s birthday present. It was a 2 hour drive over and was worth every minute! 4.5 hours, 12 courses and 7 wines. Could not fault a single mouthful. Drinks on the terrace to start was a lovely touch. Dan has done an excellent job pairing the wines, I don’t usually like dessert wines but the last two were particularly beautiful. Fantastic atmosphere. Alex was really friendly and chatty and even brought us extra snacks because they were just so good! The mushroom dish was a stunning stand out in a delicious tasting menu. We’ve been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants and this was easily our favourite. Will definitely come again.

Had a most wonderful experience at this restaurant. This is a place where the chef definitely believes “More is More”. The attention to detail was outstanding and the staff were an excellent team. Our server Molly knew exactly what she was serving us and wow it was a lot to remember. The place has a wonderful charm and there is a beautiful roof terrace.

Absolutely THE best place for date night / celebration food. The team are amazing and the food was superb. There was one hiccup about whether we were having sweetbreads or not but this was the only mishap. The terrace was a great addition since we last visited.

Spent my birthday at Alchemilla — and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. I’ve wanted to do the full tasting menu there for years and I’m glad I was able to make this occasion especially memorable. Started with a glass of Nyetimber Rosé on the terrace before heading inside for a tasting menu that was creative, intricate and full of bold, unexpected flavour. The menu included; 🦪 Oyster with Summer 2022 relish & buttermilk - Genuinely one of the best oysters I’ve ever had 🥔 Hash brown with truffle curd, chorizo jam & cured pork - This was also delicious 🦀 Chicken skin with brown crab & togarashi – a crispy, umami-rich punch The menu then unfolded beautifully across land, sea and forest: 🌱 Celeriac, sour butter & sour bread - We’re definitely team Celeriac (if you know, you know) 🦐 Langoustine, nam jim & fermented fennel 🍄 Mushroom, teriyaki & caramelised ham cream - This may have been my favourite course. The various types of mushroom created such an amazing blend of flavours and textures. 🐟 Trout, miso duck liver & fermented rhubarb 🔥 Sweetbread, lobster hot oil, ranch & umai caviar 🕊️ Pigeon, apricot, rose & merguez 🌲 Blackcurrant wood, pine & beetroot 🍓 Strawberry, sorrel, koji & black garlic The whole experience truly lived up to expectations and the full wine pairing ensured my pictures progressively got worse as the night went on but I can’t wait to hopefully go back again in the future and I highly recommend if you’ve wanted to go then do make the trip!

Our family party of six had a marvellous time at Alchemilla recently, celebrating my wife’s birthday and the beginning of her retirement. Each course was wonderfully memorable in its own right but as an experience it was amazing. Those member so four group with allergies were accommodated with sensitivity and creativity, so no one felt their experience diminished in any way. The service from the whole team was spot-on, everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and had the time to chat, which is rare in so many restaurants these days, but makes for a wonderfully personal experience. Thank you for a great evening! We will definitely be back soon.

Me and my sister came here for dinner! As soon as we got in the staff was lovely! I didn't get her name but there was a very nice lady wearing red with brown hair that was a star! As for the food, it came out quickly and was beautiful. I first got the soup with the bread! The bread was fluffy and yummy! And the soup was flavorful and a good portion! My sister got the brie cheese wedge and it was full of cheese!! Then I got the pork belly and it was amazing! The pork was succulent and full of flavour! The sauce it came with was delicious and the veg was cooked perfectly! My sister got the burger and it was juicy and full of flavour! The chunky chips were to die for! And the atmosphere was so unique! How often do you get to have dinner in a cave!! Lovely dinner location!!

We’ve been coming to Hand & Heart for years, so when we heard it was under new management, we were a little nervous, especially since the Sunday roast has always been a favourite. But I’m beyond grateful (and relieved!) to say it’s still absolutely exceptional…if not even better! I had the Pork Roast, which was cooked to perfection, while the rest of my family opted for the Beetroot Wellington, and everything was divine. You must try the cauliflower cheese and piggies in blankets, one of each is plenty for two people, and they’re both absolutely delicious. The quality and attention to detail in the food are outstanding. The service was just as impressive, the staff were incredibly attentive, and I was genuinely surprised to see there was no service charge. Even when we tried to tip, the manager wouldn’t accept it! The pub still has the same cozy charm, and the cave setting remains as beautiful as ever. It was also fantastic value for money. There were six of us, we each had a roast, a drink or two, and the total came to under £180, a rarity for a meal of this standard. We went for Mother’s Day as a treat for my mum and auntie, and it was such a special experience. I honestly can’t recommend Hand & Heart enough, if you’re after a top-quality roast in a stunning setting with outstanding service, this is the place to go!

It's the first time that we have been since the pub reopened. We were looking for some different beers but unfortunately we picked the day of the Castle Rock tap takeover. We do like their beers but as they are our biggest local brewery we had already tried them all. We will try again. It was pretty quiet but we did visit early afternoon.

Cracking pup close to the city centre with amazing food and an interesting interior. We went for Sunday lunch & it was fantastic, we both opted for the lamb which was well cooked and presented with the expected veggies. As a side we shared the pig in blanket with was a little disappointing for the price. Beers are fine and the deserts looked good too although we left a little earlier than I expected due to poor seating. The service wasn't the best but no major complaints as it was busy and they did cope. Really enjoyed it, good food but I won't be rushing back.

Went here for a really good Sunday roast for Mother’s Day. Food was superb and service excellent - they really looked after us and our 5 year old son. Setting in the cave with fairy lights is really unique and well worth a visit.

Amazing pub, since it's had a makeover it's one of our favourite places to go and luckily it's a 5 minute walk from us. Sunday dinner is a must in the cave, portion sizes are the biggest I've seen! The Yorkshire puddings are amazing, lots of vegetables, roasts and a choice of 3 meats. The staff are friendly and attentive and welcoming. Always recommend it to family and friends!

We have just had the worst meal out in Nottingham we've had for years! The pub was empty yet the food took ages, when the 6 meals arrived it was a combination of dried out, over cooked and cold food. So disappointed! On the plus side the bar staff were amazing they did all they could to resolve the issue and couldn't apologise enough which was sad that their hard work gets overshadowed by the kitchen failure. We were offered free desserts which we waited nearly an hour for and left as they didn't arrive. The bar and bar staff are fantastic but the kitchen is a complete joke!

Absolutely brilliant live our time at O’Neill’s Nottingham the staff are amazing and the food is beautiful fantastic job chefs and the music choice was perfect while watching all the sports. I could go on and on with praise but I’d be here all day thank you O’Neill’s notts we’ll all be back soon.

We both had the mixed grill I had the normal size with added Mac and cheese my husband had the large mixed grill. Not a meal I usually have as I'm funny about meat being tough, I'm so glad I did all the meat was really nice and tender, the Mac and cheese was lovely (one of my favourites) onion rings were really nice as well. Will definitely eat here again. Really reasonable price as well.

Just been here multiple times, always for great fish and chips. However today I've got a burned fish like reaaaally burn. I politely said to the waitress that it cannot be eaten and guess what in 5 min I've got the same fish again. I thought it is a joke! What in the world is happening and why?? Not to mention I had to wait more than half an hour. This feedback must definitely be read by a manager. I mean really??? OMG

We didnt eat here so can't comment on the food.. but the drinks were a good price watched the boxing, atmosphere was really good.. plenty people in to create a good ambience but not overly crowded...

My wife and I visited lunchtime on Wednesday and had the special 7 pound meal. I had a burger and coke, my wife had a Donner and chips. The burger and chips was fairly standard but tasted very nice and was worth 7 pounds. My wife had the kebab for 7 pounds on flatbread it was large on flatbread and a massive portion of fries. She loved the meal. Service was fairly quick but restaurant was not busy

the meat feast mac n cheese is sooooooo good! And it has salad with it. Love it! The wings are okay though the sauce is a bit salty Will come back

Lunch yesterday. 2 buddha Bowls very disappointing and definitely not good value @ £35.00 with 2 drinks. Service was pretty good and atmosphere wasn't unpleasing but the food was not up to any standard. To be fair what other people were eating looked appetising, burgers and pizzas but ours was 50-60% boiled rice with a little salsa on the side and a very small serving of dressing,

Anaya was our waitress! She was fantastic. Were a party of 6 and she kept those drinks coming! Never had a bottomless where I didn’t find the bottom! She was so attentive, got us our food and asked us constantly if we needed another drink. I left so drunk I couldn’t find the door. She is an angel!! Get this girl a managers wage ASAP!!!

This review is for the very poor communication and complete lack of empathy for my query. The reason I contacted them was for my daughter, as she has severe dairy and egg allergies. I actually found them through the Allergy Companions website. I sent them an email explaining the situation and to be fair, I got a swift response from the manager, Laura. I'm afraid to say, it was the usual "check the menu" response, which I seem to get from most of the bigger chains (except Hickory's, who are fantastic every time we go). Very poor. Anyway, rather than send another email, I decided to speak to Laura the next day, just to give her a chance to explain. When I called Faraday's, Laura was on a day off and I spoke to a girl called "Ellie". I explained the situation and the response I'd had from Laura and to be perfectly honest, she didn't have a clue about allergies/food contamination, etc. I then asked to speak to someone in charge and she said it was her! So you have someone in charge, that has no idea about something that could potentially kill someone. It absolutely blew my mind. So, next step was to find out who actually owned/ran this pub. It was the Stonegate group. I found the head office number and called it. I instantly got a recorded message saying that I couldn't speak to anyone. Please bear in mind this was a weekday, during the day. I duly left a message explaining everything and also all my contact details. That was 2 weeks and I have yet to receive any kind of response. I could've emailed, but anyone can hide behind those, I actually wanted to speak to someone, which I should be able to, with something as serious as this, or at least someone getting back to me. I'm not holding my breath though.

Had an amazing day! The grounds were stunning, the staff were brilliant, and the whole experience was top class. What really stood out for me was the seating. There was loads of space, no feeling of being cramped, and just really comfortable all day. I also loved that you could leave and re-enter the grounds, which gave loads more choice for food and drinks. Highly recommend!

Fantastic architecturally attractive ground, that first hosted a cricket match in 1838 due to the captain of the Nottinghamshire cricket club marrying the landlady of The Trent Bridge Inn, that had a field behind it that became what is now the county ground. Has a great history including both Notts County and Nottingham Forest having it as their home ground well over a hundred years ago. Very friendly and helpful stewards. I attended a Vitality Blast match against Lancashire which was extremely enjoyable and although I'm certainly not against all the razzmatazz that goes with it it, the music was far too loud and the bloke on the microphone very irritating. I also think that it's pretty ridiculous that to get a ticket for just one match you have to open up an account and create a password. Totally unnecessary.

This is cricket ground. Which is located in west Bridge ford area. This cricket ground is internationals. Here is held internationals matches and local city teams matches as well. The one problem is when a match day. The traffic is jam. Because to much crowd. Parking find very hard. Paid parking available near by. The cricket ground is on Radcliffe Road Westbridgeford. . . Thank you... .

Great venue, friendly helpful staff, nice facilities within the ground, if rather expensive. Nice close car parking too.

Had a great day out watching Nottingham play Surrey. I will be honest, I don't have a clue about cricket but was an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Staff are great.

The last time I visited Trent bridge was 1977, against the Aussies, so much has changed since then! It's a lovely ground, with great views and lots of food and drink outlets, the toilet facilities are very good as well, really enjoyed the Hundred game, and was a fantastic day out!

Brilliant venue. Spoilt slightly by the food vendors taking the Michael. Recommend you take your own food or nip out. No booze to be bought in. Which is fair enough. Enjoy your day 😎

Love this pub, been popping in here for over 25 years!! Its warm with lovely summer garden. Not had any food. I don't think they do any. Never seen it advertised or offered. Nice ales Yes, highly recommended.

We visited this Castle Rock pub on the night of their monthly quiz. Fabulous selection of local beers. Great atmosphere warm and friendly. Would highly recommend.

One of my all-time faves. Why haven't I reviewed before? It's been there as part of my life for over 30 years and is part of Nottingham's rich pubby folklore. Always excellent ales, brilliant food and belting service, in a completely understated and traditional interior. This is what real pubs are made of. Thanks for being there for over half my life, Lincolnshire Poacher and the gang, I may visit other pubs, but my loyalty to you will never fade.

I've always loved the Poacher, it's the kind of pub where you can go have a drink with friends and hear yourselves speak. And it's somewhere I've felt comfortable popping in for a pint on my own after work, if I've missed the bus or something. Had a great night here the other weekend for my 55th birthday. I was able to reserve the snug and it was big enough for a party of 16 of us and my friend was able to bring their dog. The bar staff were lovely and really helpful. They agreed to bring a surprise cake out to me that my friend had made and delivered the evening before. And one of the staff even ran after us down the road to give us a bag that my mate had forgotten! Great selection of real ales and spirits. As we were a large party and had chosen not to order food in advance, we just opted for snacks, rather than the main food menu, but they were able to rustle up loads of chips, samosas, olives, pitta and hummus etc. at short notice, and it was lovely. Couldn't have wished for a nicer birthday and was really happy that I'd chosen the Poacher to share it with my friends. Thanks to the staff for making it great!

Another great castle rock boozer with a vast selection of beers. If you’re into whiskey there’s loads of that too. Always very chilled and offers a good respite after wandering along Mansfield road.

Went in for a quiet pint before heading to city ground shortly. Place was lovely and warm and bartender was very friendly had a couple of Guinness and wife had wine. Really quaint place and enjoyed it will come back

One of my favourite places to go to for a drink in Nottingham. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere great they occasionally have live singers on which I enjoy and they have a pool table which is definitely a bonus. Not too badly priced either.

Mixed Menu, Valentine's meal for wife and I, good value and excellent service. Would recommend to locals and visitors alike. Make sue you look down into one of Nottingham's famous cave's via the glass floor in the bar area.

Only a brief visit, but I shall return! My most amazing friend & I stopped in for a quick drink & discovered a little side-room with a comfy sofa at the far end. So we happily retired there & began our problem solving & day drinking. Which was probably beneficial to the other customers, as they didn't have to wonder what they were witnessing. Friendly service, nice wine, and curious decor to say the least. Would love to visit again.

Excellent carvery. Unlike the carvery chains, this one had its own individual " flavour" .....and certainly wasn't mean re neat portions. My request for extra crackling with the Pork was met generously. Service was good fine, just a little slow at the Bar......I easily got over that! All considered I'd give an 8.5 out of 10

An exceptionally clean and inviting tavern with a sizable menu with many different options. The duck wonton appetizers were crispy and served with a sauce that was slightly sweet with just a hint of coriander. The main portions were more than enough for a hungry adult (and then some). The sausages were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside - exactly how they should be. And the staff were extremely friendly. They made us feel not like tourists, but instead like we were part of the local crowd. A definite repeat when we're back in the area.

I had Fish & Chips from the lunch saver menu and 1/2 a pint of Guinness (£13.50p). The staff were friendly and helpful. The room felt quite homely and bright. My lunch arrived promptly and I was asked what condiments I'd like with my lunch. The fish & chips were served with mushy peas & salad. The food was nicely cooked and tasty. The only negative I found was the lack of fish inside the batter. I'd have given this review a 4 star rating but for this.

We stumbled across this place on a short family visit. Absolutely faultless! Everyone very welcoming, Food fantastic, staff brilliant. If you like pies give this place ago. SPOT ON!!!!! Highly Recommend.

Amazing food, we were in the area after having a 4d scan across the road and thought we would have give willow tree a go due to the good reviews. Food is phenomenal! Spoke to Mandy the chef who has worked there 17 years, I can see why! All staff were friendly and me and my family were made to feel part of the crowd despite going out late with a toddler in tow. Not many people are so accepting of a 21 month old in a pub during evening time but it wasn't an issue for anyone in this pub. Can't wait to come back again soon :)

Lovely place, truly lovely. I had the fish and chips & the Mrs had the braised steak off of the saver menu, great pub grub and my god so cheap on the saver menu in the daytime. Staff warm and welcoming, a real home from home.

Saw the good reviews from others and decided to give it a try. Was there for a late lunch and fell in love with the ambience there. Colourful alchoholic drinks for decoratives at the bar area, great sense of humours (and singing voices) from the waiter and waitress - what a friendly and relaxing dining place. Fairly pleased with the skilled perfect pour of the Gusiness pint and the generous portion of steak meal. Will visit again for non-steak meal attempt.

Convenient location, good coffee and atmosphere. The staff can be a little rushed/rude at times (but they do seem to change a lot). The toasties are MEGA cheesy and the other dishes can be a bit hit and miss on quality; sometimes they’re light on key ingredients.

I found the food very good (I got the classic cheese toasty without the mustard). I was hoping to have brunch and get the chicken with waffles but the menu has changed and that is no longer available. The queue at the till could get quite busy. I loved the puns in the name of the food. It was quite pricey.

Had a great time at Blend Cafe. Located on bottom floor of Nottingham Contemporary. Friendly staff. Nice range of coffee, sweet treats and savoury meals. Lots of open, comfortable seating. Ample space for large group gatherings. Really enjoyed my soup and grilled cheese - both very tasty with nice cheese skirt on the sandwich. Will be coming back again in future - it’s a great baby-friendly cafe and will be nice to combine with a visit to the art gallery too!

My surprise of 2025, French toast and grilled cheese sandwich. Heaven on earth. Fruit juice drinks are a little expensive but the food and flavours allow me to let it slide .

Service was okay, not very interactive as i asked for some suggestions for toasties as i have never been before, plus menu is bit scattered for my eyes. Matcha strawberry iced latte was nice but definitely pricey for the amount, it was gone in seconds as glass is filled with ice and costs £5. Toastie was good, however overwhelming with pickle and mustard. Actually cafe layout wasn't too bad and had plenty of seats and temperature was good considering it was 30+ outside

Delicious toasties and fantastic vegan options. I love that the toastie flavours are often seasonal. I had the mulled wine poached pear with hazelnut one in winter and it was AMAZING! I like the coffee, they have lots of interesting drinks and different milk options. Lots of lovely shops and stonebridge city farm which is great. Outdoor seating is lovely and spacious, I sometimes find inside a little busy and noisy (just because it's popular!)

It's simply the best. Better than all the rest. The most proper pub pub in publand. Great beer selection and well kept. It'll Turner your head for sure!

Always busy and especially packed in the summer due to the large beer garden. They have to most real ale selection is Beeston to the best of my knowledge. All the staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. They do different things all the time like quizzes and stuff and have some decent prizes. There's loads of little rooms away from the main bar area and the whole place has a traditional real to it. Place I a must visit if your in the area.

Decent selection of cask and craft ales, but the prices were on the steep side. The beer was enjoyable, but the tables could’ve done with a proper wipe down — felt a bit neglected. Overall, not a bad spot if you don’t mind paying a little extra

Visited Saturday 18th March 2023 late afternoon. Had to try here as their sister pub The Five Lamps in Derby is one of our favourites, this is no exception, Brown Ales Pub Co have done an outstanding job. Inside it's a traditional, warm and cosy pub, it also has a really nice outside are with lots of seating, most of which is undercover. Beer choice is excellent with some traditional style cask alongside modern cask and a great craft beer on keg selection. Staff were friendly and talkative, the pub had a really good atmosphere. Definitely worth the trip to Beeston, we'll be back.

Nice old Trafford pub, outside seating and good beer. On the down side the low alcohol beer and Guinness zero was warm!

A brilliant historic pub with lots of different rooms. A great choice of beer in a warm friendly environment. Only simple food such as pork pies and sausage rolls and cobs (home made of course ,delicious!)on offer so it's focus is being a quality drinking pub which it excels in. Worth dropping in. M

Quick stop off on way back from holiday, so didn't book, but was lucky to get a table as not many spare tables for a mid week early evening. Staff very welcoming, good choice on menu, lovely waitress called Ashley served us, friendly and well paced service , didn't feel rushed or made to wait too long. Pub clean & tidy , tables clean , food came quickly, well presented and hot, we all really enjoyed our choices, tasty, all meals finished, steak cooked as requested, lamb shank delicious and nothing left on plates. Pudding choices also went down well. Great pub, great service would use again when driving that way. Well placed just off M1 if looking for a stop while travelling. If lived locally would be using regularly.

I stopped in this past Monday afternoon and was lucky enough to be served by young Joe. Let me tell you, he's a real standout! I've seen a lot of employees over the years, and Joe is one of the best. He greeted us with a smile and provided service that was just top notch. You don't see that kind of work ethic much anymore always willing to lend a hand and go the extra mile. He's a real asset to the team, and I hope management recognizes his hard work. His positive attitude is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend this place.

Typical pub food, inexpensive cheap meals on offer with promotions for 2 for one etc on certain days. Range of drinks, Inc draught and bottles with a low and non alcoholic options. Large area inside with lots of wood all over.

Never fails! Always manage to get a table (yes we are the annoying last minute people) it is never a problem!! Staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Great with our girls. Food... Is and always is amazing. Service is fast and food is always nice. We have been at least 2 a month for a while now and never had a problem. The Best Sunday dinner by far- i am very fussy about my roasts so says alot! Always our first choice when deciding where to eat! Keep it up guys!

I came yesterday for Sunday lunch and was super impressed! The beef literally melted in my mouth. I was served by a waitress called Ellie, she was thorough with answering any questions I had and very patient with my young daughter. She was smiley as soon as she seen us which always makes the atmosphere welcoming. Will definitely be returning

We had been bought a gift voucher and chose the three ponds as we had never been there before……the food was good but what made it a lovely experience was the staff, so helpful, attentive and polite and service was speedy

I understand the ease of QR codes and ordering, however in my opinion, when food is being delivered to the table and then being told where to collect cutlery and extra sauces is a waste. My food becomes cold when food is luke warm at best all because it wasn't stated that I'd need to get my own cutlery. Maybe make a sign. No problem getting it but when your outside in the garden seems like a faff. Sons food had metallic taste to it and he wouldn't eat it. Overall ok Pub.

Popped in for dinner on Saturday night. Absolutely delicious food. Had a burger and the doner fries followed by brownie. Staff were really friendly. We'll be back!

Sad to see this place is a closing at the end of August. Food over the years has generally been great, however opening times have been hit and miss.

Incredibly varied menu with different offers every day of the week.friendly bar staff and a roaring fire made for the perfect Sunday treat! The vegan beef roast was delicious and the stuffing and potatoes were insane! Would definitely recommend 💚

We stumbled across this pace when searching for vegan restaurants in Nottingham. It turned out they had merged with the Pricly Pear restaurant. The food was fine. They have a reasonable number of plant-based meals. The portions were also decent. The ambience was also great. We would happily return here in future.

I like this pub a lot, it’s got a good feel to it. Been here many times. Good choice of pints too. There is also a terrace if you want to sit outside. Legend has it that there are 5 golden fleeces hidden, and if you find all 5 then you get free drinks for the rest of the night. Keep your eyes peeled.

Great atmosphere. Staff was really friendly and happy to answer our questions regarding the menu. Food was on point.... I could have eaten that again, great portions.... FOOD is absolutely amazing. We have come here twice already and it won't be the last time 😊

Visited here on Friday for lunch with my sister. We're both vegan and have been wanting to come for ages. To say we were spoilt for choice would be an understatement. Took us ages to decide what to have. We opted for the Doner Party to share and loaded jerk fries. Absolutely delicious and clearly freshly cooked. Portions were very generous, too. Also noticed there were quite a few gluten-free options. Staff were really friendly too. Would 100% recommend any will definitely be returning!

Classic Pub. Billed as one of the oldest in the country. Might be, because the interior especially the snugs look right from the 1200s. Place just feels historical. Good pint, good selection of spirits. Possibly some actual spirits.

Lovely pub. Good atmosphere and great food. The burgers are good, especially the monster one. Great value at £6.66, but be warned bring your appetite it's massive.

Great place, friendly and approachable staff, well priced food with good portions and completely unpretentious. Excellent music playlist, what more could you want?

There is a cave with a well under this Inn that we went too with our ghost tour, it was an eary place and when we went back up and popped in at the bar they had all these never seen before beers with interesting names and their decor was just as eary and ghostly. We had some beers and just checked out all the cool decor. The beer was cold, the atmosphere was great and fun, the service was excelent and when you order a beer it comes in a glass with the beers name on it. This was a really fun place to visit and have some drinks, go on spoil yourself, go there, you deserve it!!!! Mabe you will see a ghost, wouldnt that be spectacular.

Me and my two friends came here at the end of our "Soccer Saturday challenge" We weren't disappointed, the staff were amazing, the vibes were brilliant and Solar behind the bar was an absolute star. I don't visit Nottingham often but I'll be certain to be back, this place caters for everyone and no-one is exempt. A fantastic venue. Thank you for a brilliant Saturday night

Very cool Pub said to be the oldest in England. Reasonable prices considering location and what they probably could charge being attached to a major tourist attraction. Great selection of beer and very cool to see it carved into the side of the mountain that Nottingham castle sits on.

At last, a review site worthy of my attention. My mother and I had an excellent Sunday dinner here on 08/06/25. The food was really very good. Tasty with very generous portions. The price is inconsequential when the food is this good. Well done team.

The wine tasting and cellar events are excellent and great value for money. The venues are always interesting (Bromley House Library, Nottm Contemporary and, especially, the cellars at the shop). Philip Trease is a really charming, informative, generous and funny host. A great crowd attend, the wines are first rate and might change your ideas about what you like and don’t like. There is always a value option although they are all keenly priced for the quality. So if you like wine but don’t like snobbery this is the place to come to enjoy all the pleasure of wine, learn something and enjoy convivial company. Surely one of the best nights out in Notts for the money.

Was such a lovely experience for us to meet one of the shop owners and get to talk about wines with him, to learn about their family business and to be so welcomed. We are not from UK but we will definitely know where to get every single bottle to gift to our relatives anytime we need. My favourite wine merchant. I have been in the Wine Club for about 5 years. I get a wide range of interesting wines and it is easy the change my subscription regarding regularity and content. Aside from the club, the range of wines is outstanding and I usually add a few choice additions to my delivery. They have always been very flexible and accommodating.

Very happy with the service provided in store when purchasing a bottle as a gift today. They have a wide range of different wines to choose from for all budgets and offer help and advice with great knowledge. The shop is also lovely, still has that cosy feeling like stepping back in time. Gift wrapping available and also a loyalty scheme. We need to support historic, family run businesses like this so pay them a visit!

The best wine merchants in Nottingham. The team are incredibly knowledgeable about all wine and spirits and Weavers has a truly superb collection of wines that are well above the mass-produced fare you find in supermarkets. And if you fancy your whiskies they also have a wide range from across the world. I have been coming to Weavers for my wine for over 20 years, and see no need to go anywhere else.
