Nottingham Contemporary is an elegant building nestled into a sandstone cliff, featuring modern art galleries, a learning area, and a cafe. By day, it's a leading international art gallery, while by night it transforms into a cavernous music venue hosting various events. The expansive concrete basement space has hosted performances by renowned artists and bands. The institution also offers workshops, film screenings, and more to celebrate the arts.
AMAZING ART GALLERY !!! Completely free to enter and so well done. The gift shop was also amazing. I cannot recommend this enough.

My first Candlelight concert. Massive Hans Zimmer fan. 41 Degrees smashed this set! Absolutely brilliant, relentless! Lovely venue
Jessica W — Google review
We have been first time here. It was ok but not something great what we were expecting. Musicians were playing beautifully, but we were expecting to have more instruments like piano as well, but there wasn’t and also the place was very small and we were expecting to be in really big hall like on the pictures of candlelight concert
Myne U — Google review
I visited many times this Building and always been happy to see the artist from around the world, as a source of culture , they contribute our community, with events such a candles stick night, what I recommend to see , and visit regularly, becouse always have something to discover and take away in your heart.

Fre entry! It's a large, pleasant space. The Exhibition we saw ( and heard) took time tune into, but gradually we allowed ourselves to absorb the sounds, images and ideas. It was thought provoking, surprising yet also calming. Cafe food excellent and affordable, mostly veggie options. Most. Enjoyable.
Emily — Google review
It's a good contemporary galery. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary art is sometimes it doesn't show mastery of skills but concentrates on the message. My preferences aside, it's a good place, good lighting, great and friendly staff with lots of events and community engagement activities. If you are into contemporary art (or stuck for options) I definitely reccomend paying a visit. Overall a wonderfully place and staff.
Zlati K — Google review
I remember coming here often as a child growing up, which initially got me into art in the first place. First time visiting again after a long time, and I love how it's stayed the same! Would love to see more exhibitions in the future, and come visit again :) Also, not sure if The Space on the lower ground floor is still being used as part of exhibitions or not? But I remember that room being the best part of my childhood!
Aisya I — Google review
Spacious, organized space and helpful staff. Nice gift shop with lots to choose from, good for presents. Friendly cafe with clean, well presented toilets. Gallery was tidy and had a good atmosphere. Thought provoking and professional exhibitions. Noticed the roof outside the entrance has a lace pattern, fitting in with the history of the area. There is a Tate modern feel to the building inside and out. Free to get in, but felt I should leave a donation which is easy to do. I look forward to more visits!

Green's Windmill and Science Centre is a restored windmill originally built in the 1800s, located just a short walk from Nottingham's Market Square. It was once the home of mathematical physicist George Green and has been rebuilt after a fire in the 1980s. Visitors can explore the inner workings of the windmill over four floors, learn about flour-making processes, and even purchase award-winning organic flour.
A Fantastic Visit to Green’s Windmill and Science Centre Today, my family and I visited Green’s Windmill and Science Centre in Nottingham, and it was a brilliant experience! The site is a perfect mix of history, science, and hands-on learning, making it a fantastic day out for both little ones and grown-ups alike. The beautifully restored windmill is a fascinating piece of history, and seeing it in action was a highlight. Learning about how flour is traditionally milled was both educational and engaging. The Science Centre was also a big hit, packed with fun and interactive exhibits that kept the children entertained while teaching them about science and engineering. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place that truly brings history and science to life, making learning an exciting adventure. I would highly recommend Green’s Windmill and Science Centre to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out in Nottingham!
Anande P — Google review
Such a wonderful place for the local community with most events being free. Lots of engaging activities and a beautiful site - I wish there were more places like this in the UK!
Isabelle G — Google review
What an incredible and inspiring place. The story of George Green, the miller and genius mathematician, was fascinating. The windmill’s story is just as captivating and there is an interactive centre for children to try science and experiments. And all for free, including 2 hours parking, but donations are welcomed. And George Green’s family grave is just a 5 minute walk away in St Micheal’s Church.
Dave D — Google review
Lovely old working Mill. Free entry. Science centre inside kids loved it. Was nice few hours out during half term kept the children entertained i didnt no of this place it was the in laws that mentioned it. A nice allotment to winder around . A good , clean park and was all free 🙌🏻 we bought some milled flour reasonably priced. You could have a nice picnic on the grounds. Car park with pay and display .
Michelle R — Google review
Very cool history and working mill. Great for kids. Lot of ladders and climbing. Gift store and Cafe options
Sheldon P — Google review
Greens Windmill in Sneinton is a real Nottingham treasure! The working windmill is fascinating to explore, and the friendly volunteers make the history of George Green come alive. The science centre is full of hands-on exhibits that keep both kids and adults entertained. You can even buy flour freshly milled on-site! The gardens are peaceful, and the views from the top are brilliant. It’s free to visit, which makes it even better, but it’s well worth leaving a donation. A perfect mix of history, science, and local charm — highly recommended for families and curious minds alike!
Islamic M — Google review
We visited today as a group of 20. What an amazing trip. Lee and Eddy did a great job of leading our little ones on a baking session making it informative (educationally) and fun. Andy gave us a tour of the Windmill and wowed us with so much history and real life knowledge of the working Mill. Jamie was great to deal with in organising the trip and getting everyone booked in. We will be back for sure! Would recommend to anyone 🤩 Thank you so much everyone
Louise L — Google review
Definitely worth a quick visit, unless you’re 7feet tall. A free experience (donations welcome) with a visitor centre containing loads of information on the mill’s history. Videos to watch & games for the toddlers. The mill itself has steep steps with enough headroom for all except giants. It’s informative & enjoyable.

Stonebridge City Farm & Gardens is a charming urban farm located in the heart of Nottingham. It offers a delightful experience for visitors, especially children, who can interact with various domestic animals such as pigs, cows, sheep, goats, ducks, donkeys and Shetland ponies. The farm also features animal handling sessions where kids can pet and handle smaller creatures like guinea pigs and rabbits.
Lovely little space away from the city but right near the city. Cafe- good selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Good prices. Shop- sells various plants etc. Various animals to see and interact with. Everyone here was lovely and they deserve all the praise and help to run this farm. A great afternoon spent here. Thank you.
Kirsty H — Google review
A great fun place for kids with lots of activities including a good play area and animal feeding. Lovely gardens to walk around and relax in. No admission charge but donation is appreciated. We got the kids lunch boxes from the cafe which were full to the brim for under £3.
Yvonnebek — Google review
Looking for a free, accessible escape in Nottingham? While parking is limited, this charming spot near the city offers a delightful, albeit small, collection of animals. The staff are incredibly friendly, and there's a convenient cafe on site for refreshments. It's not a huge zoo, but its free entry makes it perfect for a sunny day visit, offering a pleasant break from city life.
Kestas G — Google review
Lovely oasis of calm in the city, a great place for a quick diversion from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed feeding the animals.
Deborah H — Google review
Ut is nice little place with animals, garden, cafe and shop. Animals look well kept and staff are very nice on site. It also has playground for kids which is great
Ruta C — Google review
Such an amazing facility to have so close to the city centre. Managed to get a space in the car park, staff were very friendly and helpful. Even at the suggested donation price, great value for money.
Louise P — Google review
Lovely place to visit for anyone, families, friends, or on your own! They have lovely gardens, cafe, small gift shop and lovely well looked after animals. The cows and goats are always enthusiastic for a scratch! Make sure to check their social media because sometimes they have activities going on too!

We went here for a child's party. I was really impressed with it. A great inner city farm run by mainly volunteers. Parking can be tight but you can park on the road for £3 all day. The cafe was very good value for money. Food was great and the staff were super friendly. Overall a great community feel to the place.

Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park is a 16th-century English Renaissance style mansion located in Nottingham. The ancient building houses a natural history museum and is set in parkland with walking trails, a botanical garden, and a variety of flowers. The picturesque park spans five hundred acres and offers ample space for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy bike rides, observe deer in their natural habitat, and marvel at the grand gardens.
Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is a place you want to visit if you are visiting Nottingham. It has a kids' play area, Wollaton Hall, restaurants, cafes, museum, shops, a golf course, and a lake where you will find lots of ducks, swans, and other bird people feed them. Toilets facility available. Lots of open spaces for kids play and run around. It is really nice to visit during summertime with friends and family for picnics. If you ride bicycles, do get it. You will enjoy the ride around the lake and to the top. Ample pay and display parking inside the park. You will certainly enjoy the place.
Tptoodle — Google review
Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.
Anno H — Google review
Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.
Victoria M — Google review
Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.
Glen J — Google review

Arehmanbutt007 — Google review
Lovely grounds, plenty of deer and a nice walk in fresh air. There are toilets, a café and gift shop.if you need them. You need the Ringgo app to park and pay £6.10 for all day.
Liam B — Google review
The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.
Ann L — Google review
Not the best of days from a weather point of view but certainly from the number of people there. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully on the next visit go around the house. The cafe coffee and smoked bacon baguette was superb imo.

Highfields Park, a stunning 21-hectare green space located within the University of Nottingham, offers a wide range of activities for visitors. From seasonal boating on the lake to enjoying the golf course and play area, there's something for everyone. The park also features two cafes and an arts center that hosts special events. Nearby attractions include the beautiful arboretum and the historic St Mary's (The Virgin) Church with its renowned 19th-century glasswork.
Great place to visit as it's full of nature and a very calm stroll if you want to take the fam and the kids along with you they have amazing scenery and you can even hire a boat and go around the lake on. They also have some amazing statues with loads of detail to them they also have a big play area for kids to play on. There is also a castle not the biggest but still a nice area to visit the park which you can go and stand on.
Jakub S — Google review
A great park that's really nice walk around. Particularly great in the Spring where the Sakura Trees near the entrance bloom! There's also a big playground and mini-golf course if you have kids
Chris — Google review
Lovely walk, good sized park. Boats are a bonus! Although not cheap, but the young lad and young girl were very friendly! There is hardly any parking, and the spaces are very tight. People seemed to park wherever they like also, with no regards to others. Lovely large grass area to sit on. Shame that people cant be bothered to take their rubbish home with them - or in the bin - theres ample of them!!! Crazy golf and foot golf to. All in all, a lovely outdoor area.
Amy C — Google review
Another Park visited for the first time, I parked opposite within the Hockey centre which is free for visitors...as is also the parking within the park grounds... I'm well impressed by the area and boating lake which is I believe in the University grounds... It's only a short walk around the lake, a casual thirty minutes stroll... Unfortunately the cafe was closed by the time I arrived ...my fault entirely, I'll arrive much earlier next time... There's lots of wildlife especially around the lake, I loved the stepping stones area which is a bit of a short cut instead of going further around the lake... I'll give a more comprehensive review the next time I visit... Very enjoyable two to three hours... Thinking of my next visit already...

Had a quacking time here. Beautiful place to take a calm stroll and take a little time from the chaos of life. We were able to get on the rowing boat and had so much fun. The cafe is clean and has a tasty range of foods and drinks. There's so much to do here, fab day out with family.

Used to visit here on a regular basis, however this was my first visit for over 6 months. Thoroughly enjoyed walking round the lake on a sunny evening and was impressed how tidy and well kept the park was. Rowing boats available for rent, as well as mini golf and football golf. Good for families, with large grass areas for picnics and a regular ice cream van parked up. There is also a small coffee shop in the Lakeside art centre.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nottingham Arboretum, established in 1852, is a historic Victorian park boasting a remarkable collection of over 800 trees. This green oasis is easily accessible from the city center and has retained its original design by botanist Samuel Curtis. The park offers various heritage features, tree trails, and orienteering activities for families and dog walkers to enjoy. Awarded the Green Flag Award, it provides a peaceful environment with scenic views and a charming café.
Parking was hard to find but there was some close at the hospital. Toilets are only available at the kiosk / cafe for customers. That is the only negative. Pleasant walk. I spent over two hours walking around staff doing their best to keep the weeds down and everything looking good. If you want a get away from the city or just have time to kill while you wait for your hotel to be available as I did it is a nice relaxing time.
Adam M — Google review
A Peaceful Green Escape in the Heart of the City The Arboretum is a beautiful green space located right next to the city centre, making it an ideal place to escape the busy atmosphere without having to travel far. The park is full of charm, with plenty of hidden alcoves and nooks to discover. There is a lovely aviary enclosure, and the area is rich with wildlife, from birds to squirrels, bringing the space to life. Throughout the park, you’ll find interesting pieces of architecture that add character and a sense of history. I often encounter kind and friendly people during my visits, which adds to the welcoming feel. It is a truly peaceful spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a moment of calm in nature.
Jezza — Google review
This is an absolutely wonderful park to stroll around if you have a couple of hours to spare, there's plenty of benches to relax and watch the wildlife, the squirrels are very tame and a joy to see scurrying around the trees and bushes... The park is wheelchair friendly with everywhere on the flat and no obstacles to overcome... It's also a dog friendly park, but please keep your pets on a lead so as not to scare the wildlife... The trees and bushes are splendid, I'm returning for definite in the Autumn when nature's colours are at their finest... The Arboretum is only 15 to 20mins walk from the City Centre, so if you're in the City centre and fancy a break from the City, come here to recharge your health batteries, it's well worth it... I caught the bus from outside the City and exited the bus at Canning Circus then it's only a 5min walk downhill to the Arboretum, but please be careful of the trams as there's a couple of tramlines to cross from there... All in all a marvellous place to visit... Come, you won't be disappointed ...
Stephen T — Google review
The National Arboretum is a place everyone should visit. It has amazing memorials and statues for all the armed forces and other organisations that have done so much for others. We went for the Donor Family service held annually in the Aspect building. There is a free exhibition on 1944 inside. A great restaurant, and shop. A land train to take you around the grounds. Loads of volunteers to talk to. And entrance is FREE apart from parking
Rosalyn J — Google review
Absolutely beautiful park — perfect for a relaxing walk or peaceful afternoon! There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery, and the friendly squirrels are such a delight to watch. The park is flat and wheelchair accessible, making it easy for everyone to explore. It’s also dog-friendly, though best to keep pets on a lead to protect the wildlife. The trees and greenery are stunning, and I can’t wait to return in autumn when the colors change. Only about a 15–20 minute walk from the city centre, it’s a great spot to escape the hustle and recharge. A real hidden gem — definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby!

Well kept gardens with gorgeous trees, British birds and friendly squirrels. The Chinese Bell is interesting too. I enjoyed my time here. Shame the cafe or toilets weren't open, especially as it's been half term week.

This is such a big peaceful area to visit. The sound of the trees when the wind blows,is such a refreshing sound. The colourful flowers make this place is a relaxing place to be. This is such a nice place to have picnics especially during summer time. There are a number of bins and the park is well maintained. It is important to point out that there is a pond with some ducks and there is a restriction of not feeding these ducks. We love to visit this place as its easily accessible with nearby tram stop and also it is wheelchair accessible.

What a wonderful place to blow away the cobwebs. Lots of space to enjoy a walk in the fresh January air. Loads of wildlife, too. We found a path where many small birds were freely feeding. Lots if Robins, blue tit's, etc. We even encountered a friendly signet while walking along the path. He was very friendly. Followed up by coffee and cake in the great cafe. This is such a great, unspoiled space to enjoy. I highly recommend it year round.

Really nice place. Lots of wildlife to see (mainly birds). Lots of nice walks, some of which are longer, but equally picturesque. There is a nice cafe with lots of drinks options and food, although this is a bit limited. The shop forms part of the cafe and has lots of items for sale, just to name a few, bird boxes, seed, children's toys etc. For the bird watchers, there is a good selection of binoculars if your money stretches that far. Also in the cafe are toilets for both men and women, and assuming these are for the wheelchair and pushchairusers, as I didn't use them. When we visited, there was an art exhibition with some beautiful paintings and prints of birds and animals. Make sure visit the Sandmartin hide to the rear of the cafe, as they are currently nesting, and you can get really close and is amazing. There are also other hides around the reserve. Car parking currently £3 for 2 hours, £4 for 4 hours or £5 ally day. Fairly reasonable. If you have a few hours to spare, make a visit, definitely worth it.

We had a lovely walk yesterday. Paths, nature centre and cafe all dog friendly on the lead. Good selection of gifts in the shop. Pathways clean and tidy. Variety of walk lengths. Plenty of ducks!
Demelza E — Google review
Amazing place full of nature and signs telling you all about the different habits and what creatures called them home. This place is also amazing for people that enjoy bird watching as they also have loads of different platforms to stand behind and take photos. You can also see one of the UK last power plants which is incredible to take a photo of by the water. I would definitely not bring any good shoes during the colder or rainier months as some of the trails can get very muddy. They also have a cafe a gift shop and public bathroom which I missed sadly.
Jakub S — Google review
Great café, great gift shop. Staff and volunteers are very helpful. There are exhibitions from time to time which are well worth seeing. The reserve is interesting to walk round if you are interested in wildlife, especially aquatic birds

A nice stroll trough the wilderness. Loads of wildlife to watch. Calm and peaceful place to enjoy nature. It has a small café and toilets. Car park has plenty of available spaces, but you have to pay.

The scenery is absolutely stunning, featuring vibrant birds and a serene pond nestled along the winding path. I even caught sight of sheep grazing peacefully and a charming line of ducks waddling by in one of the trait.

Rushcliffe Country Park, located in the serene village of Ruddington, offers a tranquil escape from city life. The park features over 5 miles of gentle trails winding through meadows, conservation areas, and landscaped spaces. Visitors can enjoy stunning views overlooking the lake and relax on unique seating like a swan-shaped wooden bench. Originally a wartime depot, the park now boasts an extensive playground with modern equipment for children up to 12 years old.
If they will be have a jet wash for muddy dogs that will be perfect park for my "not always golden" retriever. Very friendly park. Nice, polite people. Well-behaved dogs. Good education section. Sometimes part of the park is flooded, but the main part is accessible. Nice part with appels trees with old and local spices (very tasty;).

This park offers ample space for children and dogs, featuring designated walking paths and expansive fields with both on-leash and off-leash areas. Its extensive grounds provide numerous recreational opportunities, complemented by an adjacent skate/scooter park. Parking is affordable, and convenient refreshment options, including ice cream and beverages, are available.

We love this country park! Parking isn't easy at peak times, but you can park on the road surrounding for free. Just make sure if you park in the car park you get a ticket - I've seen tickets wardens, and it's cheap! Lovely little cafe when you enter. Then a great sensory tour in the forest, our kids always stop and play here first. Down at the main park, loads of areas to play football, sandpit and a skate park...also recently found an amazing pump track! It's unreal! If your kid likes bikes, parks it perfect

First time I've visited this park. Was very impressed with how nice it was. Lots of play areas for kids and loads of waterfowl on the lake. Really beautiful area.
Ian W — Google review
The park is one of the best parks in Leicestershire. There is plenty to do for children, such as a sensory garden, a big play area with sandpits, slides and swings, and a skate park. It's a perfect place for a family day out in the sunny weather! Car park is chargeable and a bit small, but you can park on the road in a walking distance just before you get to the park. There are Caffè shop, a couple of ice cream vans during warm days, and next to play area there are 2 food trucks. If you love to spend time outdoors, close to the nature, then this is a perfect spot! Highly recommended!

A superb Park with plenty to do and see. It is particularly excellent-and very popular-with families, as the playground and BMX tracks are substantial. Pretty large park with facilities for sports, children and coffee. It is quite busy during the day but it has a very large walking path connecting from The Forest Tram Stop to the A60 which leads towards the town centre. Had my Daughter’s 2nd birthday party here. She had the best day and it was all down to the wonderful staff. We were looked after the moment we walked in. We had an hour of soft play followed by a UV disco, Mascot and food platter in a private room. Then another session of soft play before leaving. All the kids loved it and we could just enjoy the day with our guests as everything was taken care of by the staff. The private room wall artwork made the room feel magical with the lights off and UV paint. It went perfectly with my Daughter’s mermaid themed party. I would certainly book a party here again.

It’s a nice concept and design. Really unique and lovely / gives you this magic vibe :) Kids absolutely loved it - great paintings and decor ✅👌🏻💯 Only thing which I didn’t like is that you charge £1.95 per adult - don’t understand this charge to be honest with you - as usually no soft play in Nottingham or nearby charges this or if they do is maximum only £1 Adults don’t play they always there to supervise the children ( without them children wouldn’t come to your soft play ) - it’s not like we are there for free there because I always order a coffee or some cake etc / so not happy about this charge if I have to be honest with you apart from that kids loved it and everything else was fine. I’m just passing my honest opinion - on top of that you don’t have any pricing board on entrance or website is not very clear as I checked it before coming - only way I found the pricing was the leaflet.

Dirty play area for kids, I’d say it’s coming to an end. Toilets are not looked after, floor filthy however not surprised as the tables well the two I moved too were wobbling and coffee went, the wooden doors on the outside are falling off not safe for children, I will not be returning. Too Expensive!

I visited today for the first time, which is the 2nd week on the Easter holidays. I went with my 4yr old and her son who is also 4yrs old. We went from about 3-5pm We didn't have to book. 👍 Could pay cash or card on the door. 👍 The first hour was busyer than the second hour. But it didn't feel like it. As wasn't kids everywhere like some places. 👍 IT was the first play centre my daughter just went off on her own. Even thow I still had to go and explore for myself. I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED. I WOULD SAY A PERFECT PLAY CENTRE FOR PROB 3-8yr olds. This is our 5th play centre in Notts. And after today going to be our NO1! 🏆 This is also my second time around trying play centres with my 2 girls haveing a 14yr age gap.

What a lovely, calming place! Very big, yet not too easy to get lost. Great parks for the children too. I came here for a day with my friends (first time I’ve been here for maybe 10 years), and we loved it. Perfect for us to having a picnic and play some card games. 100% coming again!

If you love a lake with your park, you’ll absolutely adore Colwick. The lake stretches for kilometres along the trek with views along your way and multiple places to stop by the lake and enjoy the views and wild life. Free parking when we went and plenty of walking to do as well as many places to sit for a rest to enjoy the views with bins along the way. Benches engraved with lost loved ones. A huge country park, we only managed a small part. Pub nearby to get some breakfast, lunch or dinner. And if you love dogs like we do, so many friendly people and lovely dogs to say hi to!

Great park with two big lakes, woodlands and plenty open spaces to throw a ball for your dog or enjoy a picnic when the weather permits. In summer you can do wild swimming. There's also a couple of places where you can grab some food and a drink. I've knocked a point off as it's not as nice lately due to all the people living in vans and tents around the park. It wouldn't be an issue if they had a little more respect for the area. But they make fires on the grassed areas next to the river and leave bags of rubbish all over the place. They also use the park as a public toilet and fish illegally. The council should move them on if they can't have a little respect for the park.

Had a great time white water rafting with a group of friends, haven’t done it before so was a bit apprehensive but it was lots of fun! Our experienced guide Liam was first rate, explained everything well and helped us get the best out of the rapids, 5 star! Would definitely recommend and looking at when we can return already!
Stephanie B — Google review
We camped on the site, which is a decent 20 minute steady walk to the Lake for Paddle boarding and White water rafting. I recommend booking in advance as the place is really popular. The camp site is basic but has electric hook ups and there is a toilet and shower block, play park, shop, and loads of open spaces for kids to play. The watersports themselves were great, and decent value for the time we got. On the saturday we hired paddleboards and a kayak to keep us all entertained, it was great fun and a nice way to cool off in the heat! We hired a raft on the Sunday and I'd like to say a special mention to Sam the Instructor who was great! He kept us all entertained whilst teaching us how to be safe on the water. And overall he made the experience one to remember for the kids and the adults! Well done Sam, highly recommended! My daughter also had a go on the Sky Tykes trail which she loved, worth mentioning it’s attached to a cafe selling food & sweet treats, ice creams & waffles, and the odd lager & cider to cool off! Sam also provided knowledge of the wider area including a mention for the Poppy & Pint pub which we visited and also enjoyed! In all we had a really pleasant sunny weekend and I would recommend a visit.
Nathan J — Google review
I felt a little miss sold when booking the camping. Probably my lack of reading so willing to accept the camping isn't set in the park but a short walking distance away. However my main reason for 1 star is the toilet facilities on the campsite. I should have read the reviews and back everything they said. Very unkempt, grimy, someone had thrown up in a sink and it was here the entire 3 day stay. The toilets dont lock easily so I couldn't leave my children to use them on their own. Very disappointed. We won't be coming back.
Sarah S — Google review
Grounds kept well, shower and toilet blocks ok. Decent facilities. Pitches not clearly marked out though, so we had someone next to us overpaid a little, which meant we had to as they weren't around to speak to. We went after school summer holidays to ensure it wasn't too noisy, but had a few families with very young kids running around screaming late and very early next morning. Not the parks fault of course - fully on the parents - but would be reluctant to stay again because of that
Emma M — Google review
The site itself is lovely. But it's unfortunately let down by a few points. The pitches first of all aren't clear. When we arrived, the people pitched next to us had parked on our pitch, due to the lack of zoning. We used the shop, which is quite expensive but exactly what you'd expect from a captive audience, but the woman running the shop was rude and clearly uninterested. The rules on keeping the noise down were not enforced, with the people next to us watching their television rather loudly until midnight both nights of our stay. The biggest issue we had however was the toilet and shower blocks. They aren't cleaned often enough, in fact I believe they are only cleaned once a day, and very badly at that. They absolutely stank, I'd hate to have been pitched near by as you can smell them as you're walking toward them. The site state they've recently refurbished the block, they haven't, they have simply added another block outside the existing block, which really needs totally refurbishing. It's a shame there were the issues with cleanliness, as the site itself is beautiful and really well located.
Charlotte H — Google review
Very disappointed after our recent stay. The toilets and showers were filthy. It was evident that the toilets have not been cleaned for quite some time. Also there was no soap in any of the dispensers. We ended up having to go off site to find toilets as they were not up to human hygiene standards very disappointing.

Absolutely brilliant session white water rafting here today with my two teenage daughters. Highly recommend this activity, something really different for us and so much fun. A Beautiful walk along the river!!! A perfect place to go for a romantic stroll or a family outing. Parking is cheap and can also be paid via ‘Ringo’ app. A few bridges connecting the river in order to cross to the other side and “do a loop”. If your adventurous you can walk to a McDonalds (4 min walk) and grab an ice cream 🍦 . You also get a phenomenal view of the Nottingham Forest Football ground (Just to clarify I am not a football fan and don’t follow or support any teams). The staff are friendly and welcoming, creating a toddler-friendly atmosphere that allows young children to explore with confidence.
If you’re wanting to take your small child somewhere to play that isn’t over run with bigger children, this is the perfect place for babies/toddlers. I’ve started bringing my little girl here weekly as it’s the only soft play i’ve been to which doesn’t require me having to chase my 21 month old around for 2 hours! It’s got plenty of toys and encourages independent play, meaning you can catch up with a friend/partner or even work knowing that they are entertained. It’s relatively small, you can keep your eyes on your little one at all times. The play areas and toilets are super clean and well looked after. The staff are lovely and welcoming and always around to help. Overall, a brilliant play zone and I especially love the new role play equipment!

Although I mentioned this, on his second day he was allowed to bite 3 children (Apparently. I never saw any proof or signed any incident reports) which obviously is wrong but they clearly do not watch your children for my son to have bitten 3 children in 2 hours. In his new nursery we have had 0 incidents and he's been there for a month. I was told to "bring him back once you have sorted his biting". On questioning this, I was sent an "anti-biting" policy which had been amended (apparently with a full stop) 3 minutes before it was sent to me and was never mentioned on the show around when I mentionsd biting. If your child has any signs of ADHD or Autism.... AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!! I asked for a letter to take to the doctors for support for my son (as they offered no other support) and I am still waiting on this letter. I wonder if it's because they were reported to Ofsted that they now refuse any help at all.

We didn’t get a chance to go in today but I wanted to stop by and say thank you to the member of staff that went out of her way to help us when we found ourselves in a prickly position today. I didn’t catch your name but THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and we will definitely be back to check out the soft play soon. Thank you again xx
Reena B — Google review
Visited for the first time today with my 2 year old and we loved it! Trying to find a soft play suitable for her age has proven tricky but this one was amazing for her. They offer drinks, food and snacks too. The staff are so so lovely, I actually couldn’t believe how nice they are and they feel more like your friends than actual staff members. One of the staff members even went on the soft play and down the slide with her. We will definitely be returning and I can see this being a regular place we visit. If you’re in the area, I would 100% recommend.

Visited for the first time today with my 2 year old. We were welcomed by friendly staff and were instantly at ease with the toddler friendly environment. My daughter can be hesitant at larger soft play centres but she was straight off on her own today. So much variety, my daughter spent more time with the ride on toys, dressing up clothes and arts and crafts rather than the actual soft play! However the staff soon got her climbing on the equipment. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced too. So happy to have this on my door step!

Robyn's World is a fantastic roleplay center where kids can engage in various adventures with plenty of toys and fancy dress costumes. The experience goes beyond role play, offering ride-on vehicles, puzzles, books, figures, and a soft play area for the little ones. The activities are regularly updated to provide new experiences on every visit. The admission price includes a hot drink for adults and a piece of fruit for the children.
Absolutely brilliant! Came along with a friend and their children and this is a little gem. Fantastic prices and such a warm and welcoming place to take children for interactive play. A free piece of fruit for children and a hot drink for the adults, wow! If your child loves dressing up and role play then this is the place for them. It’s a really safe environment and they can be free to roam around the sets, play with the props while you can sit and see them at all times. Whether they want to be a vet, a chef, be in a shop or hairdressers this is perfect and all tailor made to their size. Highly recommend a visit to Robyn’s World, and if you are lucky you may even meet little Robyn herself with her mummy.

Robyn’s world is great value for money, you can have your kids imagination run wild with a variety of things to do. Every time I’ve been I have always been welcomed with a friendly smile and it’s lovely to see the kids burn off some energy! From running wild arresting their parents to styling hair and doing the shopping, it’s beautiful to see a place that allows the kids to really unlock their incredible imagination from start to finish. If your looking for something to take your kids to then Robyn’s world is for you couldn’t recommend it any higher!

Me and my daughter love robyns world. She can go off and play at her own pace and interact with others. I get to drink a very well needed coffee every time and that in itself is amazing. Let alone the huge car park which makes life so much easier. Becky is just so welcoming too you honestly feel like you’re part of the family. Highly reccomend!

So much more than a role play experience. There's so much here to keep little ones entertained - role play, ride on vehicles, puzzles, books, dress up, figures, soft play area for the tiny ones and much more. What's on offer at Robyn's worlds changes regularly, so there's always something new or different to experience at every visit. Excellent value for money as there's a lovely hot drink for mum/dad and a piece of fruit for the children included in the price of admission. You'll always be greeted with smile every time you go, and you'll be made to feel extremely welcome at every visit. Robyn's world is wonderful, we love our visits and we can't recommend it enough.

We recently discovered Robyn's World and absolutely love it! Rebecca is so welcoming and friendly and the space and set up is great for letting my little ones explore and play. A bonus that adults also get a hot drink as part of the price too!
Keely L — Google review
Fantastic set up and the new baby sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays are really lovely, a great place for little ones to explore and play. Good coffee too! But what really makes it is the owner who goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome and she is always trying to find out how she can improve the sessions. Highly recommend!
Suzie S — Google review
My son loves this place so much and so do his grandparents! Lots of role play set ups to play with, very thought out, well kept and such a clean environment. We're now are hooked and buy a pass and will continue to do so. Can't wait for summer if they still do the outside bit with sandpits, water tables, mud kitchen etc. Thank you for creating such a lovely, friendly environment for both adults and children with drinks (decent coffee and fruit for the kids)

We went to an Easter Safari Special today and it was fabulous! My daughter had an amazing time trying all of the different stations out and you could just tell that there was attention to detail in everything a child may want to do. A child's snack and adult hot drink was a fabulous addition. There was such a friendly, non threatening community feel to the setting as well. We will certainly be coming again for a regular play session!

afraid the negative outweighs the positive . the rides are ok , as for the games you need to keep an eye out for what you play and don't get carried away . most are rigged with very small chances to win or in case of an always win you can get a small plushy . while police are present you will often say to yourself ... do i smell weed . for starters don't come by car , nottingham is not welcoming to any cars and there are no parking's nearby other than supermarkets a few streets away . i wanted to park in a side street where i was last year without issue only to come back to a parking ticket as the lower half of the street was made permit holders only . a large sign was on the pavement as i later went to check why i got a ticket which was hard to spot at first by a car parked near it, not to mention numerous cars ignore the temporary no entrance from the main road creating more chaos . as for games unless they say a winner every time don't bother. the even and uneven numbers draw game , me and the guy next to me played for a tenner each and stopped as we got nothing ... neither did i see the 2 pair get anything when we walked past earlier who seemed to have bought a fair number of tickets .i later heard from a friend he got carried away and played for 40 pounds and got nothing at all. if you know how to shoot a gun don't bother we all know the rifle sights are off , don't bother aiming its pot luck if you get it right. darts ... i played on 4 different stands and only one had decent enough darts to somewhat fly straight , some of the ones i was handed outright looked like a dog had chewed on them , there's no way you can actually aim them . penny pushers , the 10 pound notes hanging over the edge are a right temptation but don't seem to move at all .me and both players next to me put a decent amount in and after 15 min started to question if they were glued down . don't bother playing for them . i enjoy fairgrounds and have been to goes fair year after year but this one does not feel fair , it just feels worse and worse... i shall not return next year

Woodthorpe Grange Park is a large, green space in Nottingham which is easily accessible by car. There are many different activities available for visitors to enjoy such as playing sports, taking a walk through the gardens or using the cafe. The architecture of the surrounding buildings is quite hideous but the park itself is still a lovely jewel in Nottingham's crown.
Lovely park with a nice circular walk, a children's playground, a coffee/ tea cafe, an old railway track complete with an old engine. There's some local community mosaic artwork and at the top a great plant nursery.

This is a lovely park which has pretty much everything. Great place to walk your dog with both woodland and well kept pathways. It’s has a pitch and putt golf course, a great kids play area, outdoor gym, coffee shack, a garden plant centre and lots of wide open space! We take the dog here most days. The pitch and putt is reasonably priced. Parking is scattered around the top end of the park, but there’s plenty of it and an overspill onto the access roads.

Burntstump Country Park is a small but charming park with limited parking and no toilets. It offers ample green space for dogs to roam and stretch their legs, with wood walking trails and a fenced-off pond. The park is dog-friendly, attracting many friendly dog walkers. Adjacent to the park is a pub with good facilities, including dog-friendly indoor spaces, making it an ideal spot for a cup of tea or a pint after a walk.
Good spot for walking your dog or just taking a stroll through nature there is a big field for dog walkers to let there dog run around on and also a decent size woods for a walk with a small pond in the middle of the park. Not much to see but it a very nice place
Jakub S — Google review
I will never be visiting this place again. The fact they have added private parking and put up signs which are way too small to con you out of money is a joke. £100 fine for the car park. Greedy owners wanting you to pay to park on lands that’s not even up to scratch for cars to be parking on. Pot holes everywhere. This place is going to lose business.

This place used to be so lovely. There was a lovely cricket field. Not there any longer. The pub and grounds used be be so nice. Not any longer. Outside area is shabby and the pub is dark and generally looks less looked after than previously. It was very disappointing.
Geraldine S — Google review
The food was nice, but the service wasn't up to much. I ordered our drinks on the app, but 20+ mins later, they'd still not arrived. It wasn't overly busy. Our food finally came, and my sausages were missing off the mixed grill. Staff weren't overly tentative.

Just had a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Burnt Stump near Mansfield and couldn't wait to share! I opted for the roast chicken, and my wife had the turkey – both were absolutely delicious and incredibly generous portions. For dessert, I indulged in a classic apple crumble and custard, while my wife, feeling a bit playful, enjoyed the doughnut rings with chocolate sauce from the kids' menu (a brilliant choice!). The drinks were spot on, and the service was genuinely good. The only minor point was the staff being a little too attentive with clearing tables, which felt a touch unnerving at times, but it certainly didn't detract from what was, all in all, a truly great dining experience. Highly recommend for a tasty and satisfying Sunday roast!"
Andy ( — Google review
Lovely place and friendly staff. The chef came to our table to discuss our order, which is very impressive for a pub. Outside is perfect for kids and an afternoon stroll in the woods.
Gianluca P — Google review
Oh my gosh this place is absolutely amazing for walking your doggies! Don't let the mucky sign fool you, this place is a gem! There's a big green field just off the car park (which is free 🥳). This is perfect for my doggies, because, I don't know about you guys, but they have to blow off some steam initially. Then you'll see around the greens there are trails for the woodlands. There is a small pond which has been fenced of with low wire fence. The whole area is somewhat secure there is fencing all around, however at places it has fallen down. Nonetheless the trails are a fair distance from the edge so it's not an issue. The doggies can go off the lead which is another bonus, no horses that we saw of, didn't even see horse tracks and no livestock either. There are toilets in the Caffe/restaurant and food as well. I did not try the food so cannot really comment on that. We will be coming back here. Lovely stress free walk...bliss 🥰

Bestwood Country Park is a hidden gem located just 20 minutes from Nottingham city center. This expansive 650-acre park features woodland, grassland, and the historic Bestwood Engine House, which can be explored on a guided tour. The park also boasts the unique Alexandra Lodge at its eastern entrance. Visitors can enjoy lovely walks with stunning views in this lesser-known destination within Nottinghamshire's rural havens.
Fresh air and open spaces, people actually stop and talk to each other. We had a great few hours here today. My grandson loved the fact that we saw a munk jack deer, a cock pheasant and a kestrel. I would recommend this park to help you completely unwind and shake that city dust from your hair!

Close to Bestwood village, the free car park offers space for around 50 vehicles. As you exit the car park you can see the historic bestwood colliery (now a museum item). Plenty of trails to travel that provide interesting walks. Only criticism would be lack of bins (for dog poo!).

Parking - Free parking no charges or tickets needed Commuting - notts connect buses run right next to the entrance Playground - Good quality but more suited to ages 6-16 Walk - the walk from the main entrance to the playground is nice but also becomes a small hike up the hill, the nature is beautiful and it is nice, to get back if you go down towards the toilets it will take you to the main road and will take around 15-20 minutes walk. Overall - it’s a great place to go just needs to be more suitable for younger ages.

Bestwood Country Park is one of the hidden gems of Nottingham. With well posted trails, picnic spots, children's play area, and dedicated bridleways it's a charming place for hikers, riders, joggers, dog-walkers and nature enthusiasts alike in any season of the year. Cherry on the cake is ample free parking on site. A caveat: the toilets inside the park are rarely open for public.

Visited here for the Saturday morning 9am parkrun. There was plenty of free parking in the main carpark at 8:40. Its a fairly well attended event and well marshalled. The route has 2 big hills, which are not for the faint hearted, however the paths are wide enough to pass if needed. Overall a great venue with good views near the end.
Paul — Google review
Great place to visit if you're after a proper woodland walk. There's a nice mix of easy gravel paths and more adventurous ones though thicker woodland to enjoy. The terrain is quite steep at times though, so it wouldn't really be suited to anyone with any sort of mobility issues. There's also some great open spaces where to can take in the views. I didn't make it to the lake today, but I'll be back very soon to check that out. You could easily make a full day out of visiting here and discovering all the different areas of the park.

Nottingham Winter Wonderland is a beloved event in the city, running from mid-November to the end of December. It's a perfect place to soak up the festive atmosphere and find unique gifts at its 60+ stalls. Families and couples will find it reasonably priced with ample parking nearby. The friendly staff and diverse activities, including ice skating, tobogganing, and a big wheel, make it an ideal destination for groups of friends or families.
Best one so far, The winter wonderland looked really amazing this year, with great views from the wheel and a good mix of stalls and bars. Really liked the look of the new skating trail and the live entertainment was great too. Definitely one thing Nottingham city council can be proud of, and making the most of Old Market Square.

Absolutely adore the Nottingham Christmas Market this year, I love it so much I have travelled 3 times now with different groups of people. There is lots to do, ice skating which includes a sky rink which is super cool. Lots of food stalls. Ice bars as well, carousel, rides for little kids and a big wheel. Would definitely recommend this Christmas Market.

If you are in search of the perfect Christmas present, or you want something to treat yourself, this is the place. There are plenty of stalls to eat as well, indulge yourself with sweets and desserts, and buy some candy or drinks. The ice skating is always a plus for the brave ones as well az the wheel or other attractions, and oh, don't forget hook a duck and other teddy challenges.
Carlie P — Google review
The size is perfect 🥰 everyone will find something to enjoy. My boys were skating and I was enjoying a delicious hot chocolate. Regarding the prices - I would assume it is everywhere the same, more expensive than at the airports😜 still, it is worth it.

Magical place 10/10 There maybe other winter wonderlands around the country, but Nottingham has ticked all the relevant boxes. Ideal for families or couples which is really reasonable in prices. Amble parking (We parked in BroadMarsh Multi story Carpark) and walking distance 3-5mins from there. So many stands/huts which will cater from food to gifts and souvenirs. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Activities range from Ice Skating, tobogganing to high landscaping view from the big wheel. You will feel a great party vibe walking around; but still safe( security and police are dotted around and approachable). Monies (card or cash) is acceptable to all the stands. However I would recommend in paying online for the skating to your time slot. Otherwise the queues can be long. Overall we loved the vibe, atmosphere and attractions at Nottingham. We travelled from Birmingham (1hr drive) and was worth the journey

Visited with a group of friends today and had a great time. Can be a bit pricey but I think that's the same with most Winter Wonderlands. It had a decent amount of things to do and food options plus it was free entry. We went on the ferris wheel and we all really enjoyed it and had a laugh. I also had some churros which were quite nice. Would recommend a visit.
Holly O — Google review
It was really overcrowded. Couldn’t move most of the time. The prices were ridiculous but there was a lot of options for food. Not many different stalls for gifts etc. and the queues were so long and we had to queue for ages to do the ice skating etc. would recommend going throughout the week not weekend.

Riverside Park, nestled just behind the historic castle in Newark-on-Trent, is a delightful escape for both locals and visitors alike. This charming park offers a serene setting perfect for leisurely strolls along the riverbank or simply unwinding after exploring the area. With its vibrant community events like duck racing and music concerts, there's always something happening to engage your senses. Visited Castle Gate in Newark-on-Trent expecting a quiet walk and maybe a sausage roll. Ended up accidentally time-traveling to the 1600s. Cobbled streets, old buildings, and an eerie sense that a knight in shining armor might pop out and ask for directions to the pub. The air smells like history (and maybe a bit like Gregg's). Lovely area for a stroll, though I did trip on a cobblestone and may have invented a new dance move. Locals were friendly—especially the pigeon who joined me for lunch. Pro tip: Don’t yell “Open the gate!” at random doors. People get confused. Would definitely return, possibly in a carriage next time. 🏰🕰️
