Come Back Shack is a popular counter-serve chain known for its creative beef, turkey, and veggie burgers, as well as shakes and sides. Located in Boone, this fast food restaurant takes pride in offering fresh and flavorful fare that goes beyond typical fast food options. The menu features locally sourced beef burgers on freshly baked buns, with standout items like the Come Back Burger topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and their exclusive secret sauce.
This was a yummy burger joint. Order at a kiosk or by phone at your table, receive a text when order is ready. Self service soda, tea and even ice coffee. The banana pudding milkshake was so delicious 😋. This place was so good we had to hit it up a 2nd time before heading back home.

Pretty busy place can be hard to get on off the road. Lots of outside, seating, pet and family friendly. Pretty much a self serve kind of restaurant highly recommend their comeback, shack burger, or there are new sliders. Their ranch sauce is homemade delicious
Roxane W — Google review
As much as I do like the food here when I visit town, this is the second time my beef patties were red inside. Guys … dont get in such a hurry. Fully cook the meat please. I can wait an extra two minutes for you to seer the meat well done. Otherwise the Food quality rating would be higher. Im in the road, hope i dont get sick from this round.
Dean M — Google review
I have been coming to Comeback Shack for quite a while now and oh boy do I recommend it! 10/10 all the way around! The food is fresh and clean and does not leave you with that “so full you’re sick” feeling. The workers are lovely and respectful as well as willing to help. The restaurant is a cozy little spot that makes everyone feel welcome! I cannot recommend Comeback Shack enough!!
Maddy S — Google review
Delicious. You order through your phone and they bring the food out and you just pick it up. Easy and the burgers were delicious. Their veggie burger is homemade with actual veggie bits in it.
Karen M — Google review
This restaurant is different than the typical fast food burgers. My husband and I got the sliders and one was the perfect size for me. I also ordered their fresh cut fries. We had to order our food on the kiosk and then when it was cooked and ready to be picked up they sent me a text. This Burger was completely different than your typical… it was delicious and when we left there we didn’t smell like a fast food hamburger still which was an even bigger perk.
Brenda M — Google review
Great chicken sandwich with guacomole that I get every time. The chicken is large, grilled and the fresh spinich and jalapenos is the best. Love all the sauces that are offered. Yes..its a bit pricey...but the quality is good. I could eat a barrel of those french fries.
Love N — Google review
Our burgers were delicious! A bit messy but they were super good. The buffalo fries order was huge! We were met at the door by a worker who asked if we’d been there before. When we told him no he explained how to order and checked on us several times during our visit. Seating is available inside and outside. We enjoyed a shake to finish our meal off. It was good, too. Everything we ate while visiting was tasty.

Coyote Kitchen & Lost Province Taproom is a vibrant restaurant known for its eco-conscious Southwest and Caribbean soul food menu. Located in Boone, North Carolina, this colorful establishment offers a fusion of Latin and Caribbean flavors with options for vegans, vegetarians, and those with special dietary needs. The menu features favorites like burritos, tacos, chicken sandwiches, and burgers with meatless twists using tofu and tempeh as protein options.
Lovely establishment. I ordered the pineapple burger and it was great! The burger itself was alright but all the toppings were what made me enjoy it so much. The sweet potato fries were tasty, seasoned nicely. The bowls and boats looked delicious, I’d love to come back and try them. The triple chocolate cake was delicious, i didn’t expect a vegan dessert to taste so good but I was very pleased with it. They are very accommodating to food restrictions, most if not all the menu items were vegan or gluten free. Menu is long, plenty of options to choose from. Staff was very kind and the space was cute and clean. Would come back!
J G — Google review
Large flavorful menu with something for everyone! Although most items are a bit pricy, they are nutritious and very filling. I got the marley burrito, and for $15 I got a huge burrito and chips and salsa. The atmosphere is suitable for large gatherings, and the outside eating area is shaded and there are fans! Also this place is suitable for those who are Gluten Free.
Daisy T — Google review
This place came highly recommended so I am sure that many people have had great experiences but I felt the need to share ours. We haven’t had this bad of a dining experience in a very long time. First off it was about a 35 minute wait on a Saturday, not horrible. But when we were sat we were only handed one menu for the four of us. I had to look up the kids menu and drinks on my phone since they weren’t included on the one menu. It took another 15 minutes for the server to come over. He said sorry, and obviously we were ready to put in our entire order including an appetizer so we did. He delivered drinks and we never saw him again. Another waitress delivered our food before our appetizer. Guy came back, apologized for the wait and we had to tell him that we never got our app. He then went to the back and came out 10-15 mins later with them. First of all, how long do nachos take to put together? At that point we were done eating. After we were finished we sat around for at least ten minutes without seeing him again trying to pay the bill and leave. Just and all around horrible experience. We also sat in the back area which is cut off from the main bar and dining area, I wouldn’t do that again. The food wasn’t bad, we all enjoyed ours. It was the service.
Kyle S — Google review
Service was good, unusual menu items, colorful, tons of gluten free options, some items we loved, like the wings and coyote pups, others were ok like the burger had a cold gf bun and patty wasn't very warm, tacos were good. We would try it again. Didnt try the cake but they had a few gluten free cakes to try. Thanks!
Rachel M — Google review
Loved the plantain chips. I haven’t had them fried like that before. The shrimp in the grilled shrimp plate were cooked well, but needed more seasoning. The slaw was good and spicy. The coconut rice was sweet and complimented the slaw well. The sautéed veggies weren’t very good. The black beans were standard.
Olivia L — Google review
The food at Coyote Kitchen is flavorful, creative, and well-balanced—perfectly blending Southwest and Caribbean influences. Great options for gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly diets. A must-try in Boone!
Ivy C — Google review
Took my daughter here for dinner. She has Celiac and they were extremely safe and she liked the food. Service wasn't great. We had to wait to be seated, which was no problem. But we are seated around 6:50pm, ordered drinks/ appetizer. An hour or more later the waiter came to take our food order. Other people that came after us were being taken care of before us. I'm pretty sure our waiter forgot about us. Would've been nice to get a discount or free drink since we were there for over 2 hours and it wasn't that crowded.
Kimberly C — Google review
I love Coyote Kitchen because it is one of the very few restaurants I can eat at in Boone because I have celiac. The food is incredible and when I dine in, they are very accommodating to my allergen concerns. And their cocktails are always amazing! However, anytime I’ve tried to place a to-go order, the online ordering isn’t available AND the phone is off the hook when I try to call. This has happened at least four times in the past few months. It’s a first world complaint and I know that, but it’s really discouraging and frustrating as a local because I don’t have other options for food. I am so thankful for a restaurant that can accommodate my dietary needs and I want to give them my business, so my hope in leaving this review is that the owners or GMs will see this and maybe take action to improve the to-go service.

Live music venue
The Local is an elegant yet relaxed New American restaurant and bar that transforms into a lively DJ club on weekends. It was established by a local Boone family aiming to provide a welcoming space for both locals and tourists to savor delicious food and wines in a laid-back setting. The venue boasts cozy decor, a lounge area with comfortable sofas, large-screen TVs, and billiards tables.
This was our first time having lunch at The Local, and we happened to be in town for the Boonerang Street Fest and our vacation- such a fun day! The fried fish dish is a must try- super fresh, and it was perfectly crispy. We were impressed with how fast everything came out -only a 10-15 minute wait for our food, even with a busy crowd. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food. If you’re planning to come on the weekend, it’s best to make a reservation.

Solid food all around. Had a really solid blackened burger with goat cheese. A little heavy on the goat cheese but it was excellent. We also had the pork loin and it was awesome. Fried Brussels were also excellent. This place has a dog friendly patio and that’s appreciated The mud pie dessert was very icy and probably the low point of the meal. North best quality ice cream.

Went off for the weekend and was looking for a spot to eat dinner. This was a really good choice that we made. Started with cheese curds. Oh my goodness...they were delicious! Main meal we split was shrimp and grits. Very well done dish! Ended with their Mississippi Mud Pie, yummy! Sat on the covered deck, had good service. Would definitely go back to try other options! S

We went to The Local tonight… BEST FOOD EVER. We had the Brussels to start and a Caesar salad. The brussels sprouts were in this secret sauce that was so awesome, and the Caesar salad was perfectly dressed. Hannah was our server and was so attentive and kind. I had the Korean barbecue tacos and the veggies were fresh and perfectly pickled, my dad and brother got the chicken with kale and Mac n Cheese and it was some of the best Mac n Cheese I’ve ever had. Ryan (manager) came over to check in on us and appreciated our feedback. If you like the food, make sure to order a round of beers for the kitchen as it’s the first thing on their beer menu. Overall amazing dining experience would recommend

Food is amazing! Right in the heart of Boone. There were eight of us and we all enjoyed out food, including one with a gluten allergy. We did not have a wait because we ate at about 4pm but there might be if you go closer to dinner so keep that in mind. Highly recommend this place!
Caleb W — Google review
The Local is a gem - a place that I keep going back to, yes, mostly because of how great the food is, but also for the great vibe and awesome atmosphere every single time. The Local is an upscale but rather causal restaurant where any visitor could find something they like. Think comfort food with a creative spin. The biggest downside of the whole place is trying to choose between such great options. Food: I ordered the tomato and mozzarella handheld with grilled chicken. Toasted French bread with tomatoes, arugula, basil pesto, and melted buffalo mozzarella. Delicious. Fresh. Flavorful. Bread had a nice crust while staying soft on the inside to soak up the flavor of the basil pesto For side - always, always, always, order the caesared brussel sprouts! Shaved brussels with chopped bacon and topped with Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing. Need I say more? We also ordered the naan traditional Cuban sandwich which had slow roasted pork, bacon (that could have been much crispier - not a fan of how flimsy it was), pickles, mayo, and Swiss cheese. This sandwich. Comfort food. So filling and satisfying. Perfect combination of savory and providing a nice bite with the tart pickles. For appetizer we got the spinach and artichoke dip - perfect to share between 2 people. Rich, creamy, full of chunked artichoke. The chips are VERY crispy and make dipping easy! Service: It was a busy evening - we went at 7:00 on a Friday. It was crowded and got rather loud at times. The bar was bustling and the bartender was our waiter. Drinks never went empty and we were consistently checked on - though not overly catered to. Ambianece: Think of a dimly lit, rustic, cocktail/cigar lounge vibe. Perfect for a cozy rainy day lunch or a nice evening out. Location: Nestled in downtown Boone, the Local is almost hidden on the street adjacent to King Street - Howard Street. Parking is absolutely terrible. Find a place to park that’s semi-close and just walk. It’s not even worth trying to navigate that mess in a vehicle. Rating: 9.3/10 I couldn’t recommend @thelocalboone enough.
Ev E — Google review
This place is really great and I ate here twice in my 5 day stay in Boone. The half chicken I had was excellent and probably some of the best chicken I have had in a long time. The goat cheese sauce they use is really superb. Also, I had their fried cheese curds which are like a meal in themself. My second trip I had their NY steak which was pretty solid. The place has a bit of an upscale atmosphere, but the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to places in Charlotte. In fact, in Charlotte I'd pay much more for the quality of food I had here. Despite being heavily packed the service was very good and they manage to get me served even right before closing. The place definitely is popular during tourist season so if you want a spot at the bar, prepare to wait a bit. It is definitely worth it and the place serves food until 11 PM and the bar is open late.
Jon D — Google review
The Local used to be one of my favorite spots to dine at around King Street. However, I have had terrible service the last few times going. Even with having reservations for birthday or bachelorette trips we were treated as if we’re an inconvenience the last few times. Rudely greeted from the host down to the waiter. I have had several bad experiences with the same waiter who is also the bartender. Feels like our order gets taken and then we get brought the check. A shame because the ambiance is good and I think they have a good menu to suit a variety of taste options when going out with a groups. I feel as if the food has also gone down hill over the years as well. For the price and what they seem to be going for I expect to get good service where I can easily order another round of drinks, ask for condiments, or have questions about the menu, etc. That has just not been my experience in my last few trips as I have barely even been able to get a waiters attention.

Family restaurant
Dan'l Boone Inn, located in a historic building on Hardin Street, has been a beloved dining spot for over 50 years. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its pioneer-themed setting and servers dressed in period clothing. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat Southern feast featuring fried chicken, country ham biscuits, Southern-style vegetables, and home-style desserts served family-style. Despite the short wait for a table, visitors agree that the delicious comfort food is well worth it.
Absolutely loved our visit to the Dan’l Boone Inn in Boone, NC with my wife and two daughters. The fried chicken and country-style steak were incredible, and the sides—especially the fresh green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, and country apples—tasted just like a home-cooked meal. We couldn’t pick a favorite dessert between the chocolate cake, banana pudding, and strawberry shortcake—they were all excellent. The wait to get in was totally worth it, and the family-style serving made the whole experience feel warm, welcoming, and efficient. The blooming spring flowers and beautifully kept landscaping outside added a perfect touch to the visit. A true Southern gem.
Robert J — Google review
If you like Family Style, great home cooking or friendly service then you need to come here! The line to wait wrapped around the corner of the porch when we got here, but it moved smoothly. Plus the grounds of the restaurant are a pleasant place to wait. After being seated, our chilled salad was waiting for us. Our waiter quickly introduced himself and explained how it all worked. Our main meal was brought out promptly. I felt everything was exceptional. The ham biscuits...oh man. The country steak was so flavorful. Another helping please! I did my best to eat everything but food won. Ha. But, I save room for the pleasant banana pudding. If I'm ever in the area again, you will find me here!

If you’re anywhere near Boone, the Daniel Boone Inn is an absolute must visit! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with that warm, vintage charm that makes you feel right at home and a blast from the past. The family-style dining is incredible. Every dish tastes like it came straight out of Grandma’s kitchen. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy, the country ham biscuits are delicious, and don’t even get me started on the dessert! The staff is friendly, attentive and keeps your table full of comfort food. It’s the perfect place to bring family or friends for a hearty, memorable meal. I’d give it more than five stars if I could…definitely one of the best dining experiences in the High Country! It’s worth the wait!
Laci O — Google review
The Dan’l Boone Inn in Boone NC is offering family style, southern home cooking, in a friendly atmosphere. The food selection was good, tasty, and well seasoned. The service was very good. The dinner was $25 per person. The banana pudding was excellent.
Dirk E — Google review
This was delicious! The wait was actually not too bad. The food and the service were amazing. I really enjoyed the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I would definitely recommend eating here if you enjoy good, home cooked country cooking!
Brooke W — Google review
This was such a neat experience! It's a buffet style except they bring the buffet to you! Food was sooo good, if you leave hungry, that's your fault! The service was wonderful too, they dress up in the era style too, which is awesome! Very accommodating, very calm atmosphere. Family friendly, we did have a big group but they fit us right in! There is a pressed penny machine here too and there is a small shop in the front too, super cute stuff!
Andromeda D — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised by dinner at the Dan’l Boone Inn! We came on a Saturday night but only had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated. The meal is family style where all the food is brought to your table and you choose your own portions. All of the food tasted fresh, traditional Southern, but still not too heavy. I especially liked the corn, country ham biscuits, and fried chicken legs. The staff was very attentive and kept our drinks full the entire meal. The chocolate cake was a little too sweet for me, but I really enjoyed the banana pudding dessert. I think the flat rate is around $25 per person, so with tax and tip, we ended up spending a few dollars over $30 each.

Must experience restaurant in downtown Boone. This place has the best simple comfort food for breakfast or dinner. We went here for breakfast on Friday morning a little after they opened after 8am. It was not busy and there wasn’t a wait. If you go during peak hours expect to wait for a bit but it’s normally not too bad of a wait. The menu is southern and if you experienced that kind of home cooking growing up you will enjoy this food place! They recently started excepting credit/debit cards too, they were only cash/checks in the past. The food is family style with a set menu and they bring out the beverages first. We got OJ and coffee. The food comes out pretty fast and you can get as many refills of the food as you need. We left full and happy, great place to check out!

Vidalia is a charming bistro-style restaurant located in downtown Boone, North Carolina. It offers an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, serving contemporary Southern cuisine with a focus on farm-to-table fare using locally sourced ingredients. The menu features a variety of enticing dishes such as pecan herb-breaded North Carolina trout, creole-battered Southern-fried chicken, sesame coriander tuna, and pan-sauteed lump crab cakes.
We recently visited our son in Boone and finally gave this place a try! Vidalia is a solid restauraunt with a great vibe. We were warmly greeted by the host and quickly sat at our table. Our server Ruby-Miley was awesome! She was extremely knowlegeable about the menu and we loved her suggestions. We started with the honey butter buns and I tried not to eat more than one, but failed miserably. So delicious. For meals we had the chicken and dumpling special, the 12oz ribeye and the beet salad with trout. Our favorite was the special, but everything was delicious. We will definatley be back!

My wife and I went here for the first time on our wedding anniversary, and it was incredible. We both loved the food (as you can see in the pictures). The service was great and the atmosphere was really comfortable. I got the shrimp and grits, and she got the pot roast (both were delicious). Then we got the banana pudding in a chocolate cup for dessert (so good!). We will be back!

Must go to in Boone! Our food came out fast and fresh off the pan hot. The summer squash risotto was creamy and flavorful without being overly heavy. The burger was perfect!! Didn’t feel like a grease bomb and had that perfect burger flavor. The entire menu looks delish and we had a hard time deciding on just two!! Will be back for more.

Had reservations for my wife’s birthday. Corn and potato chowder was incredible. My son and I had smash burgers, wife had trout, and 4th had daily special chicken and dumplings. Everything was great, I want to try the trout next time. Banana pudding for dessert was ridiculously good. I’m shocked that this place doesn’t stay crowded.
Brian K — Google review
We had a fantastic evening at Vidalia. The nightly special—shrimp pesto pasta—was a highlight, with fresh, flavorful shrimp and perfectly cooked pasta. The NC trout was just as impressive: beautifully plated and paired with creamy grits and a smooth sweet potato purée that tied everything together. The wine selection was top-tier, and both the cocktails and mocktails were crafted with care and creativity. From presentation to service, everything felt thoughtful and elevated. Definitely a spot worth returning to!

My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Vidalia. Our server was pleasant, the atmosphere lively yet quiet enough that we could hear each other for conversation and our meal was very tasty. If you are a pimento cheese fan, I highly recommend that appetizer. My husband got the pot roast risotto (while it sounds unusual, it was delicious!) and I very much enjoyed my golden beet salad.
Kristi M — Google review
Food overall was good. Paying $14 dollars plus tax for French fries was a huge mistake. Personally if I owned the restaurant I would be embarrassed to serve this item. I'm a fool for ordering it because it definitely wasn't worth the price at all. My entree was really good though so why the four stars. I would avoid ordering the fries as an appetizer as they lack flavor and real creativity. The bartender was very professional and friendly!
Morton W — Google review
This was the first dining experience here for my wife and I. We were invited by good friends who are regulars here. We're both really glad we were able to accept their invitation to dinner. The atmosphere is really nice and laid back and relaxing. Jordan, our server for the evening was exceptional. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the evenings specials as well as the drink specials. She also was training another very nice young lady but sadly I forget her name. However, she did an awesome job as well and I have no doubt she'll become a great asset to the team at Vidalia. The meal options we all selected were fantastic ! And the attentiveness of our servers was wonderful. Myself and my friend Derrick chose the Ribeye which was amazing. My wife had the Salmon which she greatly enjoyed. And Derricks wife opted for the Korean Style Rice Bowl. Each dish was fantastic. We will definitely be back to eat here again. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful dining experience.

There is nothing negative to say about this place! ❤️ They are some of the most heartfelt people i ever met. Not only do they provide nourishment for everyone.... hence Feed All Regardless of Means..... but they provide nourishment for the soul, as well. Much of their work is fulfilled by volunteers, and a few employees. To say that each meal is prepared with TLC is an understatement. There are many resources for those battling poverty, and if they are not able to assist, they can lead you in the right direction. All in all, if you need a great meal, AND a fantastic community.... look no further!!!!

Non-profit donate what you can…suggested donation of $7 for a “small plate”…more than enough for lunch, and beats a $10+ fried fast food lunch! Fixed menu each day…clearly a community hub…feels like everybody knows each other here. Great job!

We finally were able to stop by for lunch. Wonderful cafe. Volunteers are very helpful and explained everything to us. Food was really delicious - especially the soup! You pay either the suggested donation or a bit more or you volunteer. Great idea - everyone eats!

My favorite restaurant in the country. I look forward to going here every year on my visit to Blowing Rock. You get up to 4 courses of food (salad, soup, entree, dessert). How could you not love getting 4 courses !! The food changes everyday as they get it from local farms. Very healthy! It’s a pay what you can restaurant. The volunteers are friendly. 10/10! You should visit.

Neat place, great beer, great vibes. The brewery sits on the side of the mountain. Has a nice outdoor area. Also has amphitheater style seating with lots of room for the family.

Had a super great time. Beers were tasty. Food was more delicious than we expected. Compliments are to the chef! Atmosphere was fun and they had live music. Will definitely go back.

It was a sunny Friday afternoon. We were driving through on our way to Boone. Had to make a pitstop here. Honestly one of the coolest breweries I’ve been to. Huge parking lot, 2 big setups. A primary one with ton of indoor and outdoor seating, then another area with a big stage, Cornhole, several picnic tables, lawn chairs. Great spot for kids and dogs to move around. The beer was solid and food was great (elevated bar food). They even had a nice reggae band playing. Cool spot, highly recommend

Loved the atmosphere here! Very family and pet friendly spot. Good drink selection and a lot of different food options. Our waiter was also super cool and helpful. I’m also not a huge fan of loud atmospheres where the music is too loud and you can’t even have a conversation but this was a perfect environment!

Food was good and so was the beer. Servers were good and have 2 floors of seating when you are going when it's colder. Worth the stop if you are in Boone, NC
B K — Google review
We tried the East Boone Pils, Lavender Lemonade, Soft Pretzel, Burrata Salad, and Chicken Tenders. The drinks were good and the food really exceeded expectations! The atmosphere was lively and there was plenty of seating across indoor, outdoor covered, and outdoor uncovered options. There was live music playing in a park closer to the parking lot, but I assume that’s part of the brewery, it sounded great! The main parking lot was full on a Friday evening, but there is designated overflow parking across the street.

Love this brewery! The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is top notch. My husband got a few Amber beers and I got the cranberry orange mocktail which was awesome! We split the fried Brussel sprouts, pretzel with beer cheese, and the veggie flatbread. It stays pretty busy here but the servers do a great job of managing their tables and checking in with you while you are there.

Melanie's Food Fantasy is a charming eatery located in downtown Boone, NC. This popular spot offers a delightful farm-to-fork American menu featuring breakfast classics and hearty burgers in a cozy country setting. The restaurant takes pride in using locally sourced ingredients, including fresh produce and farm-raised eggs. Their whimsical menu includes unique dishes like Eggs DaVinci and Trucker Breakfast, showcasing their commitment to quality and creativity.
Amazing local eatery with incredible made from scratch meals! My wife and I were arriving in town around lunchtime and decided to head for downtown Boone. My wife found Melanie’s and we liked the menu options. It exceeded our expectations. Food was excellent, staff were friendly, restaurant was super cute, AND the food came out quick! Absolutely a place we will revisit next time we’re in town! This is what we ordered: Bacon avocado Benedict Eggs Florentine
Leigh C — Google review
Talk about a signature Boone restaurant - you’ll struggle to find anyone who doesn’t appreciate a good meal and soaking up the sun on the patio at Melanie’s! Food: Potato Madness! - crispy potatoes, sautéed with onions, peppers, mushrooms, topped with 2 eggs (your way), and cheese. The cooks DELIVERED! This plate was exactly what I needed for a good Sunday brunch after church. Eggs were cooked a perfect over-medium. The potatoes were seasoned amazingly; so much flavor coming through. Perhaps the potatoes could have been crispier, otherwise, perfection. I recommend choosing goat cheese as the sharpness compliments the dish extremely well. The bacon avocado burger. Zero complaints. The burger was messy (as one should be) and hard to put down (partly because of how juicy it was and how tasty!). Once again, cooked a perfect medium well. I would also recommend the house made pimento cheese. Fresh fruit, never fails. Also, the Mel’s bread speaks for itself. Crispy outside and soft inside - think English muffin and hamburger bun had a baby. Service: Sunday around lunch time in Boone, you better expect a wait at any restaurant. We had a 20ish minute wait but did so at their coffee bar. Fun atmosphere. Bustling staff. Positive energy. That being said, the servers were possibly stretched a little thin and though our drinks never went empty, we didn’t see much of ours. Ambiance: Think the song Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers Band and you get the Melanie’s vibe. Awesome patio area. Location: Tucked back behind King Street on Howard Street, it can be difficult to find and currently near impossible to park at due to construction. Park as close as you can and enjoy a nice walk. Unfortunately, not super accessible for the time being. Rating: 9.5/10 A true “Boone day” wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Mel’s!

We had a delightful brunch here. The food came out quickly even though we had 12 in our group. Our server kept our drinks full and was cheerful despite being a large party. The food was delicious! Would definitely recommend eating here!

It was a Warm and sunny Saturday Morning. We were in town and the wife had been to the old location, so we said let’s go. Upon arrival we put our name on a list and it was just 30 minutes. Close to a lot so you can easily kill some time. Or you can go to the back inside and there is a coffee bar and bar. The menu selection is great, little bit of everything, and a good coffee selection. We had the eggs Benedict, stuffed French toast and our 2 year old had the kids breakfast plate. We were all quite satisfied. Great spot.

I had an amazing experience! The staff was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. The service was quick, the environment was welcoming, and I left feeling very satisfied. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality and care!

It's disappointing that this happened, our experience wasn't what we expected. We had no issues being sat as a party of 6. We all sat for a while before a server took out drink orders. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and then only half of them showed up one was wrong. they tasted nothing like described we're all family so we tasted each others drinks and we swear they were all just vanilla lattes when they're was supposed to be a dirty chai and ube lattes. We sat down at 10:40 and didn't have food to the table until 11:50. Was not busy at all the food came out cold for some of us. One of the Benedicts had a hair..... The list goes on it was really frustrating to have a server not be attentive and personal felt very robotic. When a customer is asking questions about the menu I feel like usually the server working there should have a little integrity about the job. Maybe the weekends are better. We all felt pretty tired after eating here as well so they must be using some seedoils. Don't order a side of sausage like every normal breakfast brunch spot you'll end up with Soysage. Even though they sell biscuits and gravy. I guess thats what they meant by fantasy food.

Best darn Pecan Waffles I’ve ever eaten! Isa…. Great waitress! Love this place!! Prices were great, and the only reason why I checked up a higher amount per person is because we had a bucket of mimosas!

Restaurant
Troy's 105 Diner is a nostalgic 1950s-style eatery that takes you back in time with its checkered floors, neon lights, and old-school music. Voted as the Best Breakfast in Boone, this upbeat diner offers American meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The classic diner serves up staples like bacon and eggs for breakfast and Southern-style plates for lunch.
Walking in here was like stepping through a time machine! The decoration is immaculate and the place was busy the whole time we were there, after normal lunch hours! I say that with pride for it to be what it is. Decent prices, amazing homemade food, and a cute experience!
Victoria C — Google review
The First of Ev’s Eats…Troy’s 105 Diner To kick things off, we start with this retro-style diner serving up delicious comfort food, from your classic breakfast plates to late-night bites like patty melts. The Food: I ordered the Razzle Dazzle - sirloin tips, three eggs (scrambled), hash browns, and an English muffin. The portion size was very generous, especially for breakfast. The flavor? The steak tips were tender, and the eggs were fluffy - more folded and firm, like on a flattop, than scrambled. The hash browns were delicious - the tops were crispy, but the bottom side was on the soggy side. My lovely wife ordered the Little Cuz, which is biscuits and gravy, one egg, one strip of bacon, and one sausage patty (links available). The bacon or sausage wasn’t anything standout, but it was nice and crispy. The biscuit seemed sort of dry, but the gravy saved the dish. It was a nice combination of buttery and sweet but still peppery. We recommend utilizing the sausage patty to beef up the sausage gravy, as it was a bit weak on the sausage. The Service: We arrived around 8:30 on a Monday morning. It wasn’t crowded, and we were seated instantly. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered soon after being seated and received our food before 9 a.m. Despite being quick, it felt relaxed - nice for a Monday morning! Ambiance: Retro booths, neon signs, Elvis and Marilyn Monroe-covered walls - it definitely feels like stepping back in time. Clearly, a place where locals would stand by loyally, but where tourists should make a definite point to visit as well. Location: Right off 105 near App State campus. Convenient location, but 105 isn’t the easiest road to turn onto, so keep that in mind. Parking is easy; it’s not difficult to find. Rating: 8.7/10

1 Bacon cheeseburger with fries. Reeces milkshake. 1 Cheeseburger with fries and banana shake. Reuben/ fries. Meatloaf with fried okra and coleslaw. The Cheeseburgers were good just right good flavor, fries smoking hot. Milkshakes were good with whip cream and chocolate drizzled- but missing dad's cherry. Mom enjoyed the meatloaf and the okra was good but not the coleslaw. The reuben was alright nothing special. Oh we also had mac n cheese bites...very good. I left my phone in the restroom and one of the girls was sweet enough to put it at the front for me!! Music was on spot with the diner feel, did seem like it could use a good cleaning and brightening up, but we enjoyed our visit. Price was very good, we were pleasantly surprised.

They killed it with the 1950s diner vibe. Extremely convenient location from the hotel I was staying at. I had the cowboy burger, full of flavor and very fresh ingredients. The champ here is the chili cheese fries. They make their own chili, you can just tell and it's a stable side for any fish here. Had a picky toddler and a limited diet love one with me on our visit but they were able to find options that had them leave with smiles.
Joshua R — Google review
Absolutely one of the best diners I been to. Claire had an extreme attention to detail and meal add ons such as onions on the hash browns. Never have I been to a restaurant that they make sure the condiments are new/fresh.
Matt B — Google review
I went here for the first time last month and ended up going three times within 2 weeks the meatloaf is amazing as well as the bacon cheeseburger. Every waitress I've had there was exceptional and it takes a lot for me to say that. I can't think of one complaint. Actually when I got the bacon cheeseburger they forgot to put the bacon on it and when my waitress came back, I had eaten half my burger. They were very busy and she was running the entire time. She brought me two strips of bacon at no charge and recommended a desert to go, which told me that she was paying close attention to our needs because my date was talking to me about what dessert I wanted to take home. She told me in detail about all the desserts and which ones keep well and reheat well and oh my God it was so good for my midnight snack. The atmosphere has a positive energy and good vibe. The prices were good and the portions were big. We love it and we'll be going back when we come back to town

Definitely a solid breakfast option in the area. The waitresses are on top of things, monitoring drinks, bringing food out while it’s hot, but not overly bothering you while you eat either. We really enjoyed our visit. The only thing I’d recommend is they change how their seating system. Everyone just waits in line and the next person(s) in line get the next table. They don’t ask people to check in with how many they have in their group. Just my preference on efficiency to keep people waiting moving by seating what’s available correlating to how many are in each party.

Troy's doesn't disappoint. We highly recommend. It's a great place for breakfast. 1st time visitors(2023). Breakfast was fantastic. Fast friendly service, Carly was very pleasant and we were very pleased with her service. I had the Breakfast special. 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, grits and toast. My wife had a waffle with bacon. Food was great. Reasonably priced also. I'd recommend. We'll be back.

We took a shot here with no reservations on. Saturday evening. I would generally recommend reservations here, but thankfully we were able to be seated straight away without so much as a wait! There is a beautiful bar area, and though we decided to sit at a high top adjacent to the bar, I’d choose to sit at the bar if possible next time to watch the bartender or the chefs. Our server was excellent. She struck the perfect balance between providing excellent attention without overwhelming us. She quickly took our drink orders, while we spent a bit more time looking over the menu. We got two cocktails to start along with the edamame. The blackberry mojito was good, but the Ichigo Fizz was exceptional! I’ll defin try more of their sake cocktails next time! For dinner, we ordered three rolls to share. We enjoyed a mix of types of rolls, and while we each had our personal preferences, we found them all to be well prepared, with fresh ingredients and careful presentation. Overall, an excellent meal in a well-appointed establishment!

We travel up to Boone for Cobo anytime we crave sushi. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always great and the service is amazing. We honestly can't say enough about how much we love this place. (May 2025 update: Cobo is still worth the drive to Boone.) FYI parking is even more scarce with current road construction. Plan to park in downtown Boone and walk down to Cobo.

This place is fun and the food is very good. The atmosphere is easy and pleasant. Great for a date night or a weekly dinner. The rolls are adventurous and tasty. We really enjoyed the waiter's recommendations including a "secret roll". My biggest surprise was the Tom Kha soup with the char grilled chicken and mushrooms, it was a delicious treat! I would definitely recommend trying this place:)
Ibeth G — Google review
See photo of the "dessert" which was an uncooked cheesecake. Place is nice, couches getting quite worn as you have a long wait, lots of people come and stay for hours and hold up tables. Food is OK for a sushi place, overpriced "special" rolls, and they add a "tip" for take out - which is just putting stuff in a bag. Pretty decor - thank goodness they did away with the looping outdoor extreme sports vids. Barstools have NO BACKS so don't plan on getting comfy, and bar table chairs are like sitting on cement - just sort of expect more from an expensive sushi place. The service is good, and the booths are aok if you can get one. Seems the town OK'd more building instead of allowing parking for businesses, it's all torn up and seems like parking near Cobo may be even worse in the years ahead. The city needs to stop OKing every single building project and no parking garages near restaurants and businesses downtown, careful you don't get a ticket coming here to eat. Otherwise, the place is terrific, so glad we have sushi in Boone, several spots!

Food and drinks were delicious! Waitress was the best! We started with drinks and ordered the blackberry mojito and mallengator. Drinks were tasty and fresh. I recommend the mojito! For the appetizer we did the crab bacon cream cheese wontons, those were good but I’d order the jalepeno poppers with crab meat next time! Sushi we got the Appalachian, the New Yorker, the white dragon and kalifornia roll. Food was yummy! Our favorites were the white dragon and the Appalachian. We will be back 😋
K M — Google review
This was my first time trying out the sushi here! I got the Sunshine roll which was soooo good. I also got two portion of the salmon sashimi—which is usually my favorite—but was disappointed at the taste. It was probably the second to third worst tasting sashimi I’ve had yet. The texture was really soft and the slices were huge but just the taste threw me off, not that it was spoiled or anything just didn’t taste good. Other wise the atmosphere and the staff were amazing. I would go again for the Sunshine roll and the nice ambience. Just wouldn’t suggest the salmon sashimi at least.

Hatchet Coffee is a beloved local spot in Boone, NC, situated near Center 45 Climbing and Fitness. Initially a small roaster selling their own coffee beans on-site, the shop has expanded to offer an array of Nitro brews and specialty coffee drinks, including seasonal creations. In addition to their famous roasted coffee beans, they now serve a variety of breads and spreads along with favorites like avocado toast.
Hatchet Coffee is one of my favorite spots to grab a great cup of coffee and enjoy some delicious food. On my visit, I ordered a latte, and the barista surprised me by making the latte art into a cute little bear! It was such a fun touch, and the drink itself was absolutely delicious... smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. But Hatchet Coffee is so much more than just great coffee. Their food menu is impressive with plenty of tasty options. I am a big fan of their avocado toast, which is always fresh and flavorful. The focaccia bread is another favorite of mine. They also have amazing fruit tarts and so many other choices that make it hard to pick just one. The atmosphere at Hatchet is really inviting. It’s a great place to come whether you want to study quietly or catch up with friends. The vibe is cozy but lively, with plenty of seating and natural light that makes it easy to settle in for a while. On top of all that, they offer some awesome merchandise and coffee mugs. It’s fun to take a little piece of Hatchet Coffee home with you or find the perfect gift for a coffee lover. I highly recommend checking out Hatchet Coffee if you’re in the area. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a great place to eat and hang out, this spot has something for everyone. Becoming a regular there, would highly recommend!

Definitely popular. There is only table seating or "bar" type seating. Lots of variety of people hanging out. The matcha was pretty sweet. I was there long enough to have a drip dark roast and was surprised it was pretty bitter.

From the moment I walked into Hatchet Coffee, I knew I was in for something special—and the Sweet Bee Latte sealed the deal. If you like your lattes with real character (not syrupy sweet), this just might be your new favorite. Hatchet Coffee is warm, inviting, and stylish without being pretentious. It’s the kind of place you can linger—great lighting, ample indoor and outdoor seating, and a friendly, welcoming staff. Not to mention the food—the breakfast burrito is banging! I still can’t believe it’s not made with real meat. Lastly, every time I’m in the area, I have to grab a bag of their Blue Ridge Blend—a smooth, dark roast that never disappoints.

Awesome coffee shop! I came here originally before climbing at C45 right next door, but the line was so long I decided to stop by on my way out of town instead. I had an iced coffee and orange cranberry scone. I sat down and read for a bit while enjoying the drink and food. It's so light and vibrant in here, they also have a good small merch section with local artists/vendors up front that's fun to peruse. I will absolutely return here either before or after climbing (just depends on if the line is out the door)!

I adore Hatchet! Such a cute spot and the drinks are always great. I always stop by when I'm in town to try new flavors. I have enjoyed their matcha in the past and recently really liked their honey bee latte. Would recommend the avocado toast, very flavorful and they do not skimp on the avocado. The people there are always super nice and provide good recommendations. They also have a lot of spacious seating and cute merch, as well as products from other small businesses. Definitely worth a visit!

I don't get to visit Boone very often, but when I do, I 100% visit Hatchet Coffee every morning. After one visit, you can't help it - they have a nitro coffee with chocolate milk (I know it sounds odd) which is bar none the best thing I have ever put in my mouth, ever. They also have the best seasonal drinks I've ever had - I skipped Pumpkin Spice and went for a hot honey mocha (a little 8 oz cup) and it absolutely blew my mind. Also, the food is incredible - super fresh bread from a local bakery, amazing pastries (seriously - the pumpkin loaf and the avocado toast are absolutely TOP TIER) and most importantly, STUNNINGLY good coffee. I promise I'm not over selling it! Also, for what it's worth, the staff are super awesome. I tend to be a little chatty and they've always been super kind and pleasant (even early in the morning!) They also have some super cool shop items, local honey, etc. to pick up. The vibe is super chill and comfy with a modern/farm house blend aesthetic. If you are a student and you want an amazing $3.50 americano or a working professional in need of a little oomph in the morning, do NOT sleep on this place. Seriously one of my favorite spots in the world!

This is the most authentic and yummy bakery I’ve seen in the state! They have fresh baked goods all day. I went in the morning and evening to take back a few dozen mixed cookies and pastries to the local Fire Department. We plan to stop one more time on the way out of town to take some home for friends and family. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly while I glared and stared at the case while making choices. Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is eclectic, and they have a wonderful outdoor seating area. The menu is a wide ranging mix of extraordinarily well chosen dishes, all of which have unique twists you won't find anywhere else! I had the Grilled Cheese Extraordinaire with bacon that came on a perfectly grilled locally baked bread. It was quite likely the nest grilled cheese I've ever had. A cup of spicy homemade sweet potato corn chowder came with it, and was a perfect accent to go with the grilled cheese. They have a full bar and a wide variety of canned and bottled beers. Their specialty cocktails include several unique and original recipes, including a special method that freezes water at the bottom of the cocktail glass where it remains while you drink your cocktail - very clever and original. We finished our meal with a couple of house made blueberry sugar cookies that were fantastic! The manager, Carrie, was very attentive answering our questions and informative regarding the food and its preparation and local sourcing. Our server, Kacya, was also attentive with the service we were given. The prices were right, and the portions were generous. This restaurant deserves a rare rave review.

A Hidden Gem in Boone! Wild Craft Eatery is a cozy, welcoming spot with a refreshingly eclectic menu that offers something for everyone — especially vegans and vegetarians. The food is creative and flavorful, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. My favorite dish on the menu was the Thai yellow curry ! It was really flavorful warm and like a hug on a plate! The all-women staff is warm, hard-working, and made us feel right at home. It feels like a women-owned business, and the care shows in every detail. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Boone!

Great flavor, generous portions, and really good service! The food was so tasty we even had to take some home. Everything was fresh, and the mango salsa served with the chips was absolutely delicious. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

I enjoyed this restaurant. My burrito was delicious it was hearty and packed with food and flavor. My darling got the burger with the substitute side up charged tomato Gouda soup which was well worth it. I loved that it was dog friendly! My dog enjoyed it with us! They gave him a water bowl.

It's July 4th, we decided to eat a bit later than normal(7:20pm) and we drive by Wild Craft. My wife says, "it's not busy". Highly unusual...normally packed out. So, I turn around and find a parking place on the road side about 3 blocks away. We are immediately seated outside as the temperature today was comfortable. Our waitress was very pleasant and during our entire visit was very attentive. I got the Yardbird. A southern comfort plate. Very delicious. My wife got the Baha Mahi Tacos. She thoroughly enjoyed them. Both dishes had plenty of food on them. Since it was later in the evening and the sun was setting, it shined in us for a bit. Luckily we were at a table near the building. For those seated away from the building, it was a bit of an eye strain to look toward the setting sun. 🌞 My wife did have her sunglasses on during dinner as the glare bothered her. As we left the restaurant, we noticed there were a few parking spots available on the side of the building. We'll come back. I'd recommend.

I had a hamburger to go, but I wish I had time to stay. The atmosphere was very calming and pleasant and the menu was excellent. They do not serve fried food because they do not feel it is healthy. The hostess was extremely helpful and kind and whenever a way to make me feel comfortable while I waited for my food.

Had the mahi mahi tacos, incredibly tasty. Their mango salsa is to die for. My sweetie had the chorizo chili special and loved it! Beautiful decorations.

Breakfast restaurant
American restaurant
Located in Boone, NC, Sunrise Grill is a family-run restaurant that offers classic American breakfast and lunch options at reasonable prices. Known for their various types of Eggs Benedict, including traditional, southern, and the unique Flankenstein with goat cheese and grilled flank steak, this joint is a local favorite. Despite being busy at times, the excellent food and friendly service make it worth the wait.
The Sunrise Grill is absolutely stellar!! From the fresh baked goods from Stick Boy to everything tasting homemade, it's a great spot to check out. The breakfast croissant was literally to die for, and the oatmeal was so delicious. My only issue was the latte was very acidic and syrupy, so I probably wouldn't recommend the coffee bar unfortunately. But, aside from that, if you are in Boone, I would absolutely recommend you give this place a try!
Alex — Google review
The restaurant is smallish and, on the weekend, there could be a wait. They have a great cell phone connected wait system. Service was great. Our server was great, the food came out hot and perfectly cooked. Would very much recommend for breakfast and lunch. Mind the operating hours. They are open for breakfast and early lunch only. They close at two on the weekend.

Amazing breakfast place to explore a lot of menu options in omelettes, pancakes, quiche and croissant. They have great matcha and coffee options available here I had the Tumeric ginger tea with honey and matcha latte We have veggie omlette, santé fe and custom omlette cheese Lowering the stars as the women’s washroom was bummed completely !’

Big pros - Good food, very attentive server, plenty of parking and decent atmosphere Some cons - Sausage was undercooked and the wait for both being seated and getting the food was a bit excessive.

The sunrise grill is a must hit breakfast spot any time you’re in town. I always love the Florentine benedict & my husband tries a different hearty meal every time. They have wonderful coffee. Since there’s almost always a little wait (the good food is well worth it), get yourself a fresh made cup of coffee & check out the art on the walls.

We both got the John Wayne tortilla plates, so much food but delicious! We went on a Thursday morning and there was no wait but it is a very popular spot, when we tried to go back Sunday morning on the way out of town it was a 35-45 minute wait for 2 people.

Best breakfast in all of Boone. We go here every time we visit. There is something for everyone on the menu and the food is always delicious. I’m only giving three stars for the atmosphere this time because we were seated next to a very grumpy couple that complained about our three-year-old and was actually extremely well behaved. I think the elderly couple is used to eating in complete silence and we are very happy, lively family. There are always other children in the restaurant that you can hear and otherwise the restaurant is very family friendly.

The Cardinal Food and Spirits is a cozy lodge-style restaurant and bar known for its diverse burger menu, fried chicken, and creative cocktails. The warm wooden decor and inviting ambiance make it an ideal spot for a casual night out or a special celebration. The restaurant takes pride in using locally sourced ingredients from regional farms to create their farm-to-table dishes. Their menu features an array of burgers, including options made with wild game, turkey, and Carolina bison.
A really nice burger dive bar that doesn’t overdo it. Had the Carolina spread appetizer. Fried saltines/pimento combo was a winner. House made pickled veg were great too. We had one cardinal burger all the way, and one Carolina style. My only slight critique would be to not get the Caroline style on your first go around. It was delicious, but you couldn’t really taste the burger patty itself like you could on the other. Chips are PAPER thin for house made chips. Incredibly crisp and exploded into French fried fractals. Lol Also incredibly reasonable on price. Single burger & fries for $11 in 2025 is great. Lastly, I love the owners attitude on the bad reviews that are very transparently customer related issues.
Jack H — Google review
Wow, this restaurant is fantastic! It has such a cool vibe, is very eco-friendly, and I believe its meat is locally sourced. This was by far the best gluten-free burger, which was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The bun was actually soft like wheat buns, so it didn't fall apart while eating the burger. They use a dedicated fryer for all the gluten-free items and fries. I didn't try it, but they also have gluten-free breaded chicken tenders.

Finally, a fantastic burger that is seasoned and cooked perfectly! We are visiting Boone for a few days. We are always in search of the best burger every time we visit a new place. Look no further. This is it! We ordered their special burger that day! Double burger with turkey bacon, homemade queso, and seasoned mayo. It was delicious. The place was busy. Our server was very kind and efficient. Quick service. We visited Troy’s105 Diner yesterday and also ordered a burger. Big thumbs down. Don’t believe the reviews there. Awful. Unseasoned and not appetizing. This review is for the person looking for fabulous burgers.

Customer service was great with recommendations. The overall items from the menu were a little overwhelming as we wanted to try a variety of things. The overall end result was very good. We liked the atmosphere as well as how well our waiter assisted us. We will return if in the area as we know this was a nice dinner.

The patio seating was great on a fall day when we were visiting family with our dog. But it got a bit soggy when a storm blew in! The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was good. We especially liked the homemade BBQ sauce (nice mix of sweet and spicy!) and homemade chips.

Drove 1.5 hours from Catawba and it was an amazing drive. I went because I saw an Emu burger listed on their website, was disappointed when I learned they didn't have it anymore. I got an elk burger with hush puppies and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection and was super flavorful and went nicely with a couple of local beers they had on tap.

The triple burger is heaven. Extremely popular place but for a good reason. Very nice ambiance, service has been great with each visit, but most of all the food is amazing. I have not been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered. The triple patty burger Carolina style tho keeps me coming back every time im in the area. Love this place

We love going to the Local Lion whenever we're in the Boone area! We love the Donuts & other goodies & the coffee. It's a beautiful place to have coffee & a light breakfast or a mid day coffee break. ☕️ They have their own (free) parking lot & they have a drive-through. We love to bring our dog & have our coffee & Donuts outside on the lovely covered patio! Awesome place, great staff & service too.

Set out to try as many local Cafe as I can while in the area and Local Lion did not disappoint. Had the Blueverry Jasmine donut and Local Lotus with my Cortado. Because why not? 😎😁 The donut was soool yummy and the Jasmine scent really came through, yet in a sweet suttle way. The lotus was like... Imagine a donut and a cinnamon roll had a baby. Not too overly sweet. Friend staff. Quick service. Lots of seating available. Outside seating area is nice too.

I graduated AppState in 2021 and came back for a visit. The Local Lion never disappoints! The staff is always wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable. I recommend the Bee Balm, Queen Anne's Lace, and the Turtle coffees. The Maple donuts are awesome, but the Sugar and Cinnamon donuts are the best! Very fluffy and filling! The Local Lion has a very chill atmosphere, inside and out. Completely stress free. With plenty of seating and tables, it's a calm place to work and talk. The mugs are made by an Appalachian State University allumni who graduated in 2016, who was a barista here. Very impressive craftsmanship.

Eleven80 Eatery is a chic and relaxed lounge located in a busy corner of Boone Mall. The Lovejoys, long-time residents, have created an inviting atmosphere with a dedication to service that reflects the locals' preferences. The menu offers an eclectic assortment of small plates, burgers, flatbreads, and seafood dishes with a classic southern twist in flavors and presentation.
Our experience for dinner was a little rocky to start off but the manager totally made up for it. When we arrived we waited a few minutes without anyone seating us or talking to us, but later the manager apologized and offered dessert on the house. I got the margarita flatbread, which was very good. My wife got the Parisian sandwich, which she loved, and raved about the ranch with her chips.

Hands down one of the best places we’ve eaten in Boone, the chicken and waffles are a must try! And Bella our waitress was fantastic, We will definitely come back again!

Very friendly...great customer service! The person who seated us forgot to tell our waiter that we were here, so we waited a little longer than usual, but they were very apologetic and offered a complimentary dessert to make up for it. The delicious slice of key lime pie that we shared more than made up for the few extra minutes that we waited! I got the Parisan, and it was absolutely the perfect balance of flavors! And while their special dipping sauce for the chips was good, I didn't love it with my sandwich, so I asked for ranch instead. They have the best ranch I've ever had! We are only here for the weekend, but I may be tempted to come back before we head home!

Food was fantastic, we got there later in the day around 5pm, the Pork and Wing options weren't available to us. We opted for Buffalo Chicken and The California flatbreads instead, we were not disappointed. Service was friendly and prompt. Ordered okra as an appetizer, delicious. I requested sweet potato fries with our flatbreads this resturant has to have some of the best ever sweet potato fries hands down!-that's coming from someone who doesn't usually like sweet potato fries too. Will definitely be going back to get our hands on wings and pork 😋

We came from out of town for a couple of days-getaway. Looking for different restaurant to try and spotted this restaurant on Google. After reading the really good reviews, we decided to give it a try, as it was at the mall we were planning on visiting. I wanted to try the shrimp and grits.. but sadly they are only available on Saturdays. We had the glazed shrimp appetizer.. that was really good. I then picked the reuben, with chips. My husband chose the steak and cheese. Ruben was very good.. husband enjoyed his meal.
Debra — Google review
Great menu, delicious food, nice folks, solid bar, cool projection wall decor and found wood ceiling art. With a little more decor and perhaps partitions to cozy the room up (the wide open entrance to the mall is a vibe-kill), this place could be among the best Boone has to offer... if it isn't already. Outdoor porch dining is likely dog-friendly.
El G — Google review
Atmosphere was amazing, but service lacking a little.. they forgot my coleslaw until I was almost done with my sandwich. Sandwich was very dry yet over seasoned, and coleslaw was also dry. Our server was very over talkative, in a fake sort of way. Which I understand if she was having a bad day but it was very “artificial”. Would come again but note the the service if you’re looking for more friendly service. Nothing really stood out here so it’s an okay place but wouldn’t eat here regularly
Gabe Y — Google review
Staff is very friendly and attentive. Typical bar and grill atmosphere. The place was mostly empty on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. We ordered the pulled pork tacos and a flatbread pizza. The flatbread was small for the $14 price, but it was prepared perfectly and was very tasty. The tacos (2 for $13) were small softshell tortillas but we're stacked nicely with slaw, pulled pork, crispy fried onions, and BBQ sauce. Only complaint is the pork seemed that it was not heated thoroughly and was on the cold side. Should have been served hot. Also, if you are paying cash watch that they don't charge you the "non-cash surcharge fee" as our waiter did. It was less than $1 but if you had a large group it would be significantly more.

Nobody on the planet makes ribs like these folks. Everybody else is hit or miss and they don’t even come close. No fat, fall off the bone tender. Sauce and sides are great and they serve fast. Husband loved his BBQ tacos

Yummy BBQ. Got loaded fries, sausage, brisket, mac and the pimento burger. All were very good! Flavor, tenderness, not dry. The Mac n cheese was delicious. The atmosphere isn't "viby" as my kids would say but that's why I like it. Casual spot. You don't have to get dressed up or overpay for a good meal. Super friendly staff.

If could do more stars I would! We are all picky eaters and the only thing I can say, this was perfection we were so hungry that forgot to take pictures as an appetizer we ordered the smoked chicken wings with the homemade western sauce we felt like heaven!!! 100% recommended. We order the three meats with two sides adding a 3rd one love the pork belly 💜the sides were out of this world pork beans, potato salad and Mac n cheese everything fresh from scratch. This was our first time at The Pedalin Pig. We are what you call barbecue aficionados, having grown up doing weekly BBQs on a lake in Michigan. We were in Boone for just a night, and a friend of mine had highly recommended checking this place out. Because it was Saturday night there was a bit of a wait but it was so worth it! Big shout out to Julie! Absolutely nobody at The Pedalin Pig compares to her. She is “everywhere,” taking names at the hostess stand, and juggling the phone and graciously answering all questions and we had plenty to ask! We tried the brisket, pork belly & ribs. We also added the wings with Bama sauce & some sides. Pictured in my review. Everything was delish! We’ll definitely be back to try more off the menu. We highly recommend 👍 Josephine Local Guide

Had the lunch special which included a choice of pork chicken or brisket, fries, slaw and a drink. The pork bbq was moist and flavorful. The eastern Carolina sauce and the smoky western Carolina sauce were also very good. I’m pretty sure I’ll be coming back during another visit to Boone.

Atmosphere is really cool. I had the brisket tacos and they were okay. They had a large amount of liquid along with the meat that really made a mess and seemed odd. I feel as if the presentation could have been better. The waitress was nice but never offered to fill my drink up. I would go back, overall it was decent. However, I have had much much better.

Lost Province Brewing Co. is a family-owned gastropub and microbrewery located in downtown Boone, offering a hip space with frequent live music. The brewery features around a dozen beers brewed on-site, and visitors can watch the brewers at work from the upstairs windows overlooking the vats. Known for its Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas made with locally sourced ingredients, customers can build their own or choose from specialty options.
Came for dinner and a beer and what a great experience. Fish 'n Chips were delicious--crispy and well seasoned with a delicious sauce. Served with fries and some really nice, spicy green beans with banana peppers (went really well together). The beer was a delicious IPA. Service was great and it's always a really comfortable setting unless it's really busy.

The Lost Province Downtown Brewpub is located in downtown Boone NC. It is our fifth brewery visit during our North Carolina journey. The olive and pretzel appetizers were good. The fish and chips decent, and pizza ok. The pizza dough needs about 2 more minutes in the oven. The beer selection is decent. The biggest shortfall is the service. We sat upstairs on the deck, ordered via QR code, and there was no interaction with the staff. We had to self serve water, additional plates, beers and wine, as well as napkins, and plastic wear. The bar staff should be increased by at least one more team member. The brewpub is dog friendly, but the feel is you get is that your money is second class.
Dirk E — Google review
We enjoyed a fantastic dinner here while vacationing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The pretzel we ordered was so light and fluffy and the marinara that came with it was the most delicious sauce I've had in some time. The beers here were really good and the stone fire pizzas were a hit with my wife and my boys! Well done!

To end our weekend in the area we came here for pizza. Very cool restaurant and service was very good. I was not a fan of the pizza. The crust was great but the sauce was watery. Other than that it’s a nice place.
Nicholas L — Google review
Somewhat typical look for brewpubs with a main room where you wait in line for beer and scattered tables for food service. There are a couple of separate areas (outside balcony, entrance room and an upstairs). Pleasant enough. Beer was good, especially the Scotch Ale (IMHO) and the food was solid. My wife had a salad with a lot of junk on it and I had a Ruben. I would definitely come back.
Douglas D — Google review
Terrible experience. We waited an hour for our food, only for it to come out cold, greasy, and so soggy the bun was falling apart. The sweet tea was incredibly bland and the bun on my sandwich was so wet it was sticky. The waitress brought a new bun but without any sauces which took all the flavor out of the sandwich. Would not recommend at all.

Over the years, it has evolved to offer a diverse menu featuring delicious all-American classics alongside an impressive whiskey selection. The restaurant is committed to sustainability and offers fresh sandwiches, pub food, and local craft beer. Visitors can enjoy favorites like spinach artichoke dip, onion soup, shrimp and grits, along with amazing cocktails.
Great locals pub & grub establishment. I've enjoyed several previous visits. The staff is terrific. Very friendly and attentive. Bartender Sarah is particularly adept and delightful, and with a great sense of humor, too. The food is fresh and put together with great attention and care. They bake deserts and more in house that look beautiful. I was really tempted by the carrot cake cupcakes, but too full to eat one this trip. Do yourself a favor if nearby and hungry or thirsty. Lots of good choices here.

First time customer. I ordered the French Onion Soup and a half French Dip with chips. The soup was the ABSOLUTE BEST I've ever had. I love that you provided small scissors to help cut the melted cheese, BRILLIANT idea. The french dip was good (would be better if you used french bread instead of hoagie roll ;-) Highly recommend.

Always a good sign when you see the locals coming in. Our waitress was friendly and suggested the spicy chicken sandwich and it was the perfect kind of spice we like. The Reuben was thick as well as the French dip. Steak fires worth the extra charge. Oh and the batter on the cheese sticks. Yes please! After a long day getting our granddaughter ready for college this was what we needed. Can’t wait to come back

1st time visit. There were 4 adults and 2 children. One in high chair. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and although a short wait, we got a nice table near the front of the restaurant. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. My wife and I split a salmon (blackened) croissant sandwich with curly fries. It was ample food as we had eaten about 3½ hours earlier and weren't starving. Overall, we were pleased and thought the pricing was good. We will be back in the future. I'd recommend.
Skipper P — Google review
Random find on Yelp and Google. Excellent mean with a ton of food on the plate. First off — some of the best mashed potatoes and the mac n cheese was next level. Fantastic! I went with meatloaf. Two large slices that are served with parm crusted and parm flakes on top. Excellent! My only suggestion, maybe add some gravy to top it off. My wife ordered the sirloin steak dinner. She ordered rare and they knocked it out of the park. Excellent. The onion rings are very good, I almost ordered a side of them. Speaking of appz, the Okra Fries are unique and actually pretty darn good. The French Onion Soup was okay, about average. Served a little cold and not very much flavor, oh well, win some lose some…….
Old O — Google review
We had the French dip sandwiches, soup, fries and fried mushrooms. Sandwiches were okay. Au jus was very bland. The curly fries were okay. The fried mushrooms were really good and came with a mustard dipping sauce. I ordered the soup of the day (clam chowder) but wasn’t told until later that they were out of it. I got the vegetable and it was very good. They had a pretty decent craft beer selection. We sampled a couple and ordered one each and were both pleased with our selection. There were 2 staff members behind the bar. A male and a female. The male was much more helpful and friendly. The female was okay but she was talking poorly of customers very loudly the whole time we were there. She had two paintbrushes in her hair. Overall the atmosphere was really chill. We were served quickly and would go back if we were in the area but it would be nice to hear less negative and critical conversation from the staff about the customers. Food service is hard but it spoils the atmosphere for the paying customers.

Nestled in the heart of Boone, Black Cat Burrito stands out as a vibrant and casual eatery that has been delighting locals for over 15 years. This beloved spot is renowned for its mouthwatering burritos, fresh tortilla chips, and refreshing key lime margaritas. The menu features an array of Mexican classics with a creative twist, including unique breakfast burritos like the Hangover Helper, packed with eggs and chorizo.
My son recommended we have lunch at Black Cat Burrito and I am glad he did! Very chill vibes and delicious food. Great place to grab a bite, sip a beers, and shoot the breeze. I ordered the Chimichurri Tacos with steak – man those were so good! The meat was well marinated and so tender. The chimichurri was perfect and really complemented the taco. The sides, rice and beans, were also very tasty. My son order Zorba The Greek burrito and completely crushed it. It was generous in portions and had a good amount of lamb meat. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Boone.

Some of the best, unique burritos you'll ever have. Highly recommend the Burrito of Brotherly Love, a Philly cheesesteak burrito. Comes with chips and cole slaw. Get the salsa sampler, too. So worth it! Have a selection of beers, too. Good service at the front.
Matthew R — Google review
Their burritos are awesome but the star of the show are the steak chimichurri tacos. Flavorful, tender meat, and just an absolutely slamming dish all around. The atmosphere is on point too with a grunge kind of vibe that I like with excellent service too!

May be the best burrito I have ever had. Fresh ingredients and huge …. So come hungry. Great atmosphere (dive) right off the Main Street in Boone. Super nice wait staff…

Updated March 2, 2024. My wife and I love to dine hear. We stopped by around 6:50pm. It was packed as usual that time of night. So we decided to walk around a bit and came back around 7:45pm. We both had their Build your own Burrito. You start by selecting the tortilla you'd like. We both chose spinach. Next, your bean selection. You also have a variety of proteins and veggies to chose. The meal comes with a choice of salsa, chips and their delicious slaw. I'd recommend the mango salsa. Also, I'd recommend getting extra slaw for 50 cents. Tonight, as always, our meals came out very fast. Both our meals were delicious. My wife always has ½ her meal left over, so we get a to go box. I'm full after all that food. I'd highly recommend. 2022. They closed for a bit and so happy they reopened. 1st time I've ever parked directly outside the front door. Meant to take a picture of food. Had burrito so not much of a picture to show. Food excellent. Seating comfortable. I'd highly recommend. Enjoy.

We have been coming to Black Cat for over 20 years and it has progressively gotten worse. The queso and salsa were the best thing. The Don't be a jerk beritto was very bland with very little taste. The food has really changed over the last several years. It is not worth driving from Rock hill anymore. It needs a major change. The owner needs to read the bad reviews and listen to all the customers. Everyone can't be wrong.
Albert S — Google review
The food here has really gone down hill for several years. The food is bland with no taste. It taste like everything is right out of a can and microwaved and throwed on a wrap. We ordered unsweetened tea and was told they only had sweet. No salt or pepper take out packs. And then they charge you ten percent take out charge. The Black Cat use to be a fun place to go in Boone now it's a hit or miss. Ever since the new owner took over it has really went down hill. We would drive from Rock Hill, SC to eat at Black Cat. This will be the last time we waste our time are money on microwave food. Taco Bell has better burritos. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. So sad management has screwed this place up.
Albert S — Google review
I have eaten here for about nineteen years. Several years ago, a new owner bought the place. Now, the burritos don't match the descriptions. The chicken wing burrito I ate tonight had beans in it, no ranch, no texas pete and a whole ton of cumin. It was like a cumin burrito. Some of the food is still good but don't expect any of the old magic.

Our Daily Bread is a popular eatery in Boone, known for its ingredient-focused sandwiches and light fare. The casual, warm-hued space offers a cozy atmosphere to enjoy a meal. Despite the bustling weekend crowd, the service was great and the wait was worth it. A patron recommended trying the chipotle turkey sandwich and roast beef with goat cheese sandwich, both of which were incredibly delicious. The menu also features a variety of wines and beers to complement your meal.
Oh my goodness. I loved Our Daily Bread - probably one of my all-time top 10 lunch sandwich places. We asked the server to bring us his favorite two sandwiches He brought us a chipotle turkey sandwich and a roast beef and goat cheese sandwich - both were incredibly delicious. The chipotle turkey sandwich was on the menu, but I’m not sure if the roast beef and goat cheese sandwich was on the menu (if it’s not on the menu it definitely should be!). We also enjoyed some delicious Wicked Weed beers with our meal. The wait staff was hospitable and kind. I would eat here everyday if I could.

A Boone native suggested this spot so we took up his recommendation. It was a very busy Saturday! Parking is tough downtown but somehow we ended up being able to parallel right in front- score! Don’t let the many people outside scare you away from putting your name down. The spot is bigger than it looks from the outside- and we were told 20 minutes. It was a little longer than that but no biggie- not in a rush and worth waiting. Service was great- acoustics a bit loud if you’re noise sensitive. The bass for an afternoon lunch a bit intense. The food was very good- I got the butternuts squash bisque- very smooth with good flavor. The basil press also intrigued me and I got- another thumbs up for the flavor. Daughter got minestrone- it was good and standard. Wouldn’t be my first soup pick. We would definitely return.

Could not have asked for a better experience! Both of the sandwiches we tried (Hot Ham & Brie and The Beef Chimi) were PHENOMENAL. Great atmosphere and the staff was SO sweet. We didn’t have go wait- but if there is one when you go, it is worth it!

The food was amazing! We absolutely loved the sandwiches and cheesecake. I can't say enough about the Cali Croissant! My grandmother thoroughly enjoyed her Tempeh Reuben and vegetarian chili. Oh and let me not forget they make the best potato salad!

ODB always has some of the best food in Boone. Please take a break and support these guys for lunch. This time around I got the ham and goat cheese… amazing. I recommend getting the marinated greens as a side though. They were awesome.

Amazing sandwiches, but the best part was the soups. I was very excited about the 6 different vegetarian soup options! Usually I feel lucky if there is even one.

Just had lunch for the first time here and everything was wonderful the sandwiches and the Potato Salad was yummy. The young man that serviced us was Zach McDermott we wanted to thank you for your wonderful service and attention. Being restaurant owners At Southern Scoops in Jefferson we recognize and appreciate good service.

The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. I came in right when the doors opened for lunch, and got the ham panini. The Voodoo chips were great too, I’m happy that the bartender was able to describe the taste to me beforehand. There wasn’t anything wrong with my visit, but while I will say the food and staff were great, I can’t say I’ll revisit soon. Especially not during a rush where there’s 10-15 people waiting outside for a seat.

The Red Onion Cafe is a charming and airy restaurant located in Boone, NC, just across from Appalachian State University. It offers a diverse menu featuring gourmet and classic American dishes, including appetizers like Artichoke Dip and famous desserts like the Horace Cookie. The cafe has both street-view patio dining and a spacious interior dining room. With reasonable prices and delicious food, it's a popular choice for locals and visitors alike.
On Father's Day this year, we traveled to the Blue Ridge Parkway with a stop for dinner at Red Onion. We met our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter there. We were pleasantly surprised it wasn't jam packed. We sat inside and we were greeted very quickly by our server. Excellent service. The food was excellent as well. I had the veggie pizza, which was packed with ingredients. My wife had a salmon salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. So glad we stopped in. It's not our first visit. They have plenty of options to pick from the menu. I'd recommend. We'll be back.

Stopped for lunch on a day trip to Boone. we were greeted and seated quickly. We started with the onion rings, good and fresh. We both got the Thai tacos, and my SO got shrimp ,I got impossible meat. both were very good, nice spicy sauce and portions generous. Our server, Cat, was friendly. The decor is very plain, and the prices were higher than some of the dine in places. Still overall, very pleased with our visit. We would go back .

They advertise that their coffee is locally roasted. We ordered coffee and it tasted like it had been made much earlier in the day and stored in a thermal carafe. It was served lukewarm. We asked for a warm up and were served the same stale cold coffee. The food portions are small for the price and is average at best.

I treated my friend's and my family out for lunch during our vacation stay. I chose this restaurant based on the food pictures from previous customers' reviews. Pros: 1. I recommend their signature French onion soup which I ended up ordering two bowls to share with everyone. 2. My group enjoyed the artichoke dip with crusty toasted bread. 3. I ordered the Cajun style pasta which wasn't served for lunch but the restaurant accommodated my request and allowed me to order that. The pasta was delicious! 4. I ordered four creme brulee and it was well liked by the majority of the group. 5. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Cons: 1. I mainly cane for the grilled chicken breast with baked potato entree but it wasn't available for lunch. 2. I ordered the salmon salad which was okay. Salmon wasnt that tender and medium rare but still manageable to chew and swallow. 3. Lobster bisque wasn't that great. We hardly tasted any lobster. It was just too yellowy cheesy and creamy without the lobster taste. 4. Not many people in my group liked the pimento cheese with veggies. 5. "Grandma" complained that the booth smelled unpleasant like some kind of cleaning chemical that she refused to sit in. 6. Dining table was very icky and sticky, that seems to be cleaned better. Overall, I highly recommend the French onion soup and their pasta dish.

Came here on a Sunday for an early lunch before leaving Boone to head home. They have outdoor seating which was a plus for having a dog. The food was decent, but nothing to rave about. They have decent lunch specials and good prices overall. A good spot, but I would look elsewhere for better over quality food.

The food was creative and delicious, and the service was very good here. We ordered the Mushroom Lasagna, Greek Pasta, Tuscan Red Pepper Chicken, French Onion Soup, and Artichoke dip. All our food was delicious and I would recommend any dish we tried, especially the Artichoke dip. It was unique and heavy on the artichokes, served with perfectly toasted little bread slices. Nice bar too, I tried a lavender lemonade. We will be back when visiting Boone!

With nearly four decades of service under its belt, this inviting eatery boasts rustic wooden walls and a cozy lounge featuring a warm fireplace, perfect for intimate gatherings or larger celebrations.
Great meal with our family last night while in town. Huge shout out to Brooke for being an awesome server! A++ Thank you Kristi for taking such good care of us! And thanks Quinn for making us feel like such welcomed guests!

I think they have gotten a little comfortable. The food was good but not great. I would still go back and give it another try. The staff were very nice. But the salad was flimsy and wilted, the caprese was messy, the chicken parmesan didn't seem very fresh or homemade. With that being said the caprese tasted great, the vegetables on the tortellini were fresh and perfect, and the tiramisu was sooo dang good.
Judy S — Google review
Rustic, high quality Italian food. Bread and salad included with most meals was fresh. Pasta was great. Have had chicken picatta, chicken carbonara and shrimp fettuccine. Crème brûlée was good and light dessert. Kids pasta was plentiful. Parking to left of building as you face it.

We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner here, and we were very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. Our food was tasty, and the lasagna was especially good. The bruschetta was good, but the melted cheese was a disappointment, both because it covered other topping flavors and because it made it hard to separate the bread slices. The wine list had a good variety, and the service was friendly and knowledgeable.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Casa Rustica. The antipasto appetizer was a great start, and both the Chicken Scampi with Caesar salad and the Seafood Emilia with French onion soup were flavorful and well-prepared. Our server Brooke was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, though the pacing between courses was a little slow. Overall, a great dining experience and we’d definitely come back!

Just left Casa Rustica for a fabulous dinner. We did not have dinner reservations but got there right at opening. We were offered seats at the bar. Proper is a charming restaurant located in a historic 1896 jailhouse, offering an intimate and romantic dining experience with a seasonal twist on traditional Southern home-style cooking. The cozy establishment features a beautiful garden patio for alfresco dining, where guests can enjoy classic Southern dishes like catfish nuggets, pulled pork, meatloaf, crab cakes, and fried chicken served with traditional sides. The restaurant prides itself on its attention to detail, from tastefully presented dishes to warm and welcoming decor.
I came by a few nights ago with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved this place! The food was super delicious, the service was great, and the restaurant itself was beautiful! It’s really opened up a lot since the last restaurant, Proper, was in this spot. We got the arancini (risotto balls), chicken under a brick, and cavatelli (which came with a full lobster tail and shrimp!) I would give the food a 10/10 again and again, it was so good. The service was also amazing! Our server (who I believe was named Taylor?) was super sweet and answered all of our questions! Absolutely will be back again and we’ll be recommending to all of our friends!

The Pasta Joint in Boone, NC, is a true gem, delivering incredible flavors and a truly welcoming experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The whole dining experience benefits from this excellent service. Now, for the food: the flavor profiles and textures were simply amazing. Everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh and well-crafted. The appetizer of Buffalo Mozzarella Four Ways was a highlight—each preparation was distinct and delicious, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. The focaccia was perfectly airy with a lovely crust, and the bolognese pasta was rich and deeply satisfying. The only reason for the four-star rating, and not a perfect five, was a small temperature issue with one dish. While the flavor of the lasagna was absolutely divine, it was regrettably lukewarm in the center. It was still completely enjoyable thanks to the quality of the ingredients and incredible taste, but a touch warmer would have made it flawless. Minor hiccup aside, The Pasta Joint is a fantastic restaurant that I highly recommend for anyone seeking truly great pasta and a warm, genuine atmosphere in Boone. We will absolutely be back!

If you haven’t been to The Pasta Joint yet, you’re missing out on a true gem! This place takes Italian food to the next level. Everything—and I mean everything—is made completely from scratch, from their incredible house-made sauces to the hand-crafted pasta that’s rolled, cut, and infused with so much love and flavor you can taste it in every single bite. The pasta is absolutely out of this world—silky, tender, and perfectly cooked, with that authentic texture you can only get when it’s freshly made. You can tell they take pride in their craft because every plate feels like it came straight out a Nina’s kitchen. The flavors are bold, balanced, and unforgettable. Pair that with their warm, welcoming atmosphere and you’ll feel like you’ve discovered your new favorite spot. Whether you’re a pasta lover or just appreciate real, quality food made with passion, The Pasta Joint is a must-visit.

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Pasta Joint! The renovated space feels warm and welcoming and the food is fantastic! The house-made focaccia bread was fabulous and the Pappardelle Porcini was the best pasta dish I have had in years! You can certainly tell everything is made in house. They offer gluten free options as well. All around great experience and relaxing atmosphere… I highly recommend The Pasta Joint!

Service was great. For appetizers - butternut squash arancini (slightly sweet and crispy) and the focaccia (fluffy on the inside, crispy crust). We chose to get the Veggie Lasagna and the half portions of the Chitarra & Vongole and the Squid Ink pasta. The noodles in the clams dish were a bit too al dente for my preference. The squid ink dish was delicious and had the most tender calamari pieces. The lasagna was also great but could use more vegetables in the dish. Portions are on the smaller side for the price point. They do not have sweet tea but their cocktail/beer & wine list looked like it had great options!

Called ahead to set a reservation for a Saturday evening, and was told it's first come first serve. Great! Arrived around 645pm, was told the wait is 10 minutes. The wait ended up being 45 minutes. Which was disappointing. I saw a party after us that was seated. The service was quick, food was good, clean environment, including the bathrooms. Prices were fair. It was a tad cold for a not so hot summer day. Otherwise would visit again.

The food here was pretty good but not great (I regularly eat at Indian restaurants while traveling and at home). The tandoori meat platter app was, for example, sort of dry and just okay but the shrimp korma was really nice. I’ve never been to an Indian place that serves up the volume of food that this place does. So, if quantity is important to you, this is the place! The service was excellent. The restaurant interior (it’s in a mall) was ordinary and pretty loud. But I liked it overall and would go back.

This was my first visit to Mint. My son lives in Boone & it’s one of his favorites. Before I begin, I want to talk about their hospitality—Aman the manager & Nitin who also manages with him went over and above to make our dining experience exceptional. The supporting staff & absolutely everyone from the people who bus the tables and those that bring the food out—all have pleasant attitudes. They want you to be happy! As a foodie—I notice the smallest details. They also made me a very refreshing lime soda. Months ago, our son had his birthday in the private room (pictured in my review) with all of his friends. He loved the experience! My suggestion is to order a variety of appetizers and share the big portions of entrees. You will want to taste everything. Myself, I can’t do anything too hot—I did the tandoori chicken with the most mild sauce. We ordered two garlic naan. My son went with lamb Korma. My husband ordered the lamb Rogen Josh. We also tried a soup with seafood & the Gobi Manchurian-a fried cauliflower with savory spices. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. We were also impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. Be prepared to take home extra food. I appreciate their eco-friendly, sustainable packaging. I wish I could give this restaurant & its people more than five stars! My daughter and I stopped into Stick Boy Kitchen on a snowy December morning for a bite to eat, and it did not disappoint! We tried a sticky bun and a chocolate croissant, as well as fried egg sandwiches with ham, bacon, and cheese on bagels. Everything was absolutely delicious. The cheddar everything bagel made my ham, gouda, and fried egg sandwich exceptional—just the right combination of flavors. The sticky bun was perfectly sticky and sweet, and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her chocolate croissant. While the food was fantastic, the service was a bit confusing when we first arrived. Being from out of town, we weren’t familiar with the setup. We initially sat down but quickly realized we needed to grab menus ourselves from a sandwich board. After that, things improved—especially thanks to a kind young gentleman who took our order and ensured everything went smoothly. The cozy holiday atmosphere was a nice touch, with college students decorating the space with coffee filter stars, adding a festive and quirky charm. Despite a slightly rocky start, everyone was friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food made it a wonderful experience overall. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! The flavors, cozy vibe, and unique charm of Stick Boy Kitchen make it worth a visit. Just make sure you grab a menu when you walk in!

When I first sat down to write this, my gut said to give it three stars. Why? Well, I wasn’t quite sure to be honest. As I parsed through my thoughts, I decided that in fact it was a four star place, but you need to have the right expectations. We stopped in for lunch, and Stick Boy Kitchen serves hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads, quiche, and of course a large selection of Stick Boy Bakery pastries. They also serve a wide range of smoothies and coffee drinks. I would describe the ambience and offerings as more of a cafe than a restaurant, and that’s where I think my own expectations were misaligned. All that said, we had a good meal with good service! Pros: 1.) Stick Boy baked goods. If you’ve not visited the bakery just down the road before, then you’ll need to sample some of the pastries here. Get whatever looks good to you—it’s all good! Pair it with some Hatchet coffee! 2.) Mains. The sandwiches we had were all quite good. Interesting takes on standard offerings, such as the Kluckin Kop, a twist on the usual grilled chicken sandwich. Their quiche was also excellent. 3.) Service. The service was quite prompt, and staff addressed any questions we had very quickly and comprehensively. Cons: 1.) Sides. I feel like this is a big miss at an otherwise great restaurant. The sides available with our sandwiches were bagged chips, cut fruit, hummus and carrots, or fries. All were okay, but to have such great mains with relatively uninspired sides was a bit of a let down. Overall, a nice spot for a leisurely lunch and coffee.

We came up to visit our son in Boone. When we moved our son into his apartment we stayed at a hotel on King St. that had Stick Boy pastries on their menu—it was love at first bite! Later I googled & found their bread company (taking home some bread & treats). On this overnight trip—I was visiting the plaza to seek out some vintage finds at the thrift shop & stumbled upon this restaurant. Yesterday afternoon I brought the family for lunch and it did not disappoint. I highly suggest looking at their online menu because the line is long because of their popularity. You’ve got to know what you want to order when you get up to the register. I’m happy they had outdoor seating because the indoor accommodations become filled-up fast. The Kluckin Kop was recommended to me & I loved the blend of the provolone, honey mustard, and mayonnaise. I took pics of the boys orders, too. My son enjoyed the cold Chick Pea sandwich. My husband went with breakfast. We also each ordered a baked good. I can’t pass up a sweet. I also love the Hatchet coffee! It’s delicious! I’m glad I tried it. It’s my go-to when I’m visiting Boone. I highly recommend taking a bag or two home. Check out my pics of other merch available. I also got to try the hibiscus lemonade and it was perfect to cool me down on this hot day. I definitely want to come back & try more off the menu. Stick Boy leaves me wanting more. I’m hooked and you will be, too! Happy Eating 🍴 Josephine Local Guide

Breakfast restaurant
Boone Bagelry is a cozy eatery in Boone that offers a diverse menu featuring bagels, cream cheese, sandwiches, omelets, salads, and gyros. While it may not have the trendy rainbow bagel, their stuffed French toast with cream cheese and syrup is a breakfast favorite. The indoor seating area reopened in 2022 but they also offer outdoor seating as well as pickup and delivery options.
Yes it's a small location and yes their parking lot can sometimes be a bit cumbersome, leading to further the parking issues to be had on King Street. However, this place is a Boone institution. It was a frequent staple of my college days and times I've visited since graduation and since the original owners sold it have been nostalgic and wonderful. Dishes I'd recommend: Bagel French Toast (I usually do the blueberry bagel for that), home fries, any of the bagels with cream cheese (though the chocolate chip and jalapeno spreads are my favorite, depending on my mood!) and even though I don't like eggs my husband really enjoys the Bagelicious sandwich (as did a lot of my classmates when I was in school)

Shout out Lola at the cashier spot, great customer service skills and served me my breakfast in a timely manner. I always get nervous trying to get something before work in fear of being late but they were on the ball!! The bagel tasted so delicious and eggs tasted fresh!!! They gave me a filled cup of coffee to go as well and it was so appreciated because usually it’s more ice than coffee at other places in Boone. 10/10 absolutely will be back with my family!

To the sweet waitress who served me 10 min before closing today: Thanks for your great service and for taking my order so close to closing! I promised you a description/review of the coleslaw, so here it is: the slaw is mayo based, but not drowned (it’s just right), and chunky chopped, but not so big you look like a fool trying to eat it. It’s not made with mustard, which is correct, because mustard doesn’t belong in coleslaw. It has a nice twang, which balances the pinch of sweet. The flavor is great and it pairs well with the turkey melt sandwich. I would prefer a bit more black pepper, but not everyone loves black pepper like I do. Overall, it’s a delicious coleslaw! Thanks for a great lunch and for being so kind and considerate!

It’s hard to tell who’s the owner, manager, or employee because everyone provided such great service! The bagels were incredible, the coffee was excellent, and the only “complaint” I have is my own unstoppable craving for coffee—which got a little messy. Lola made us feel like regulars on our very first visit.

The food was really good, a really good breakfast sandwich bagel and a plain bagel with cream cheese. I called in the order and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so I showed up a little after 20 minutes hoping I could grab the food and go. I checked in when I got there and they told me my food would be ready soon. I watched a group of frat boys order their food, wait for their food, and receive their food before I got mine even though I called it in. The girl that I asked to check on my order after I noticed was nice and she apologized but I could tell my order was forgotten or lost in the hustle and bustle. I waited around 40 minutes for two bagels which was just really unfortunate. If it somehow wasn’t the case that my order was forgotten and it was just really busy in the kitchen, I wish there was a bit more honesty with how long it was going to take.

Probably waited about 30 minutes with the assurance that someone would come by to take our order. We left after a family of 8 came in and their drink orders were taken immediately before my table (just 2 people). Not even mad, just really sad and I can't help but feel like I was discriminated against. I was super excited to try the food for the first time.
Yazmin G — Google review
I called an online pick up order to be ready in 15-20 minutes supposedly, but it took over 45 minutes for me to get my food. There were two other people in the restaurant and the woman we asked about our order was extremely rude and disrespectful. When we got our order, it wasn’t even right. The staff was making jokes about how the singular woman sitting in the dining room had been waiting on her food for a while, but did not rush to get the food that had been ready. Seemed like they could care less about the service they’re providing and more about talking with each other.
Makenzie P — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience here. I walked in and stood at the register for about 10 minutes, and not once was I acknowledged by any of the workers, even though several of them looked directly at me. When they finally came to the register, instead of saying “I’ll be right with you” they continued talking amongst themselves. Eventually, I had to ask if someone could take my order, and only then did I get a response: “We’re backed up, I’ll take your order in a bit.” That’s something they could have easily said at the start. A simple acknowledgment goes a long way, and the lack of basic customer service made the whole experience extremely frustrating.

Basil's is a lively brewery tasting room that also offers a variety of sandwiches and customizable pasta dishes. Originally the tasting room for Booneshine, Basil's prides itself on its commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients in their scratch-made offerings. The relaxed atmosphere and delicious pasta options make it a must-visit for Italian food enthusiasts. Additionally, as part of the Booneshine Brewing Company, Basil's benefits from its association with one of the area's top beer producers.
We are in town for a short getaway and wanted something delicious to eat! After seeing that Basil made their own pasta, we decided to stop in. Drew, the server was fantastic! The food was amazing! Pappardelle is hard to find - but homemade is even harder! I had the Mushroom Marsala, my boyfriend had the Steak Gorgonzola, and my kiddo had the kids pasta with parm. We also had the artichoke appetizer and S’mores Martini. Everything was EXCELLENT! We are so glad we went. The portions are plentiful as well.

This place was pretty good!! All the staff are extremely friendly, the table bread was piping hot and delicious, and the food was very well prepared. The duck sliders were delicious, and the NC trout was phenomenal. The fish was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were addictive. Our waiter was really fun, and we also spoke to the manager, who was very nice. I would absolutely eat here again, and I'd recommend visiting if you're in town.

We were looking for places that served sandwiches and found this place. My wife ordered the rueben sandwich, I had the chicken pesto sandwich. $17 for a sandwich seemed pricey for us but it was worth every penny. Extremely delicious!! Nice buttered toasted bread, with mouth watering interior. Bussin Bussin for sure. Our girl ordered chicken alfredo pasta and she loved it as well!

We came here because it says they make their own pasta and sauce. Perfect. We made reservations and were seated promptly. I noticed there was alot of food crumbs in the booth between the seat and the back. I hesitated to sit but sat anyway. The floor where I stood was sticky and I noticed the flies. The flies I chalked up to the doors being opened. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, steak paparedelli and buttered noodles, goat cheese salad and a Caesar salad. The goat cheese salad was unedible. There were so ma y things wrong here. The spaghetti was a mush they took it back to remake but took so long We wondered. The steak was good. The pasta was clumped together and I had to cut it like a potato. We decided to pay and leave. The waitress who was lovely asked for feedback. Which I gave. As pasta makers..when you make fresh pasta their is a slim marginal line for no errors. It also seems there is no semolina flour in the pasta dough, way too much sauce in the dishes. Presentation is everything. You cannot serve patrons the way you serve yourself at home. The meatballs had a mushy texture. Almost like meatloaf. The sauces had no flavor! A homemade sauce gives so much room for growth and improvement. My husband thinks we should go and try something else on the menu as the manager on duty gave a discount on the bill. We would have just paid it and not gone back. But he showed good management and judgment in the meal comps. So, Thanks for that. An hour or so after we got home we both had stomach ache though. I'm chalking that up to the fruit flies. O the calamari and eggplant fries was very. Very greasy. The breading from the calamari kept falling off. The kids menu needs a revamp and there need to be significant improvements with the sauce, pasta and cleanliness. If you are going to use pasta as your corner stone, it needs to be the BEST!!

I’m not normally someone who takes pictures of their food but omg it was sooo good. Not photographed was the tiramisu and the brie but they were also amazing. If you’re in the area you have to stop and try basils. You won’t regret it. Staff is super friendly and energetic, I could write 3 paragraphs about how good the food is. Pictured is the sun-dried tomato spinach pasta and the salmon risotto.

We just got settled in our hotel in Boone and were very hungry after a morning of hiking. Basil’s restaurant was only 0.2 miles from our room and the menu looked very good. We took a short walk and had a delicious late lunch. The food is all made in-house. I had a Reuben with house-made corned beef and my husband had a Basil’s special sandwich with house smoked turkey. The wine and beer were so good. We plan to go back tomorrow for dinner to try the house-made pasta. The service was excellent and the decor was very beautiful.

Farmers Markets
The Watauga County Farmers' Market, established in 1974, is a vibrant community gathering held every Saturday from May to October at the Horn in the West parking lot in Boone. With over 60 vendors, the market offers an array of seasonal produce, baked goods, crafts, and artisanal products. Visitors can explore a variety of culinary delights such as heirloom apples and candy roaster pumpkins while enjoying live music and entertainment.
Great place to spend time during the weekend. It gets easily crowded but finding parking spots was not bad because of quick turnaround. Fresh produces, local products, music, food trucks, and kids zone - it has everything that family can enjoy together.

We were visiting our son in Boone and someone suggested we go to the farmers market and I’m so glad they did. This farmers market is much larger than what I’m used to. I love seeing all of the organic and grass fed options as well as the makers of handmade and art. I picked up a lovely dress for my Maileg bunny from Mary of Mountain country creations. I also met Larson of Sunshine Cove Farm, which is located in Valle Crucis. He offers micro-greens (which are my favorite). I walked straight back to the historical log cabins and I met some people that are part of the Southern Appalachian historical Association & Hickory Ridge history Museum For around 5 dollars you can do a self-guided tour. Be sure to check that out. Happy Exploring 📍 Josephine Local Guide

This Farmers Market is absolutely adorable! There’s such an amazing selection of vendors and local products — beautiful flowers, fresh baked goods, honey, cheese, mushrooms, meats, and so much more. Everything feels fresh and local in the best way. The only thing missing was a fresh espresso option, though they did have brewed coffee. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Had such a great experience at the Chick-fil-A in Boone. I’ve been here a few times now and every single time, the staff has been so friendly and welcoming. You can really tell they care about providing good service. Everyone I interacted with had a smile on their face, and they all seemed happy to be there, which honestly makes a big difference when you’re grabbing a quick bite. This time I ordered the Market Salad, which has become one of my go-to meals. It was super fresh, with crisp greens, fruit, nuts, and perfectly grilled chicken. The flavors work so well together and the dressing ties it all in really nicely. It feels like a healthier option but still super satisfying and full of flavor. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something a little lighter that still tastes great. The restaurant itself was clean and well organized. Even when it was busy, things moved quickly and smoothly. They really have their system down, and you can tell the team works well together. I also noticed that they checked in with people eating in the dining room, just to make sure everything was okay, which I appreciated. Whether you’re passing through or live nearby, I would definitely recommend stopping by this location. The staff alone makes it worth the visit, and the food is exactly what you’d hope for from Chick-fil-A. Good service, good food, and an overall positive experience every time.
Kathryn P — Google review
I’m not sure if chick fil a has gotten skimp on their sandwiches or if they are putting the breakfast portion on the full sandwich but the size of the chicken is significantly smaller than other chick fil a’s I go to on a regular basis in Raleigh. Hope this isn’t the new norm but will definitely make me rethink spending $7 on a sandwich with a tiny piece of chicken. Also the buns are ALWAYS stale at the location. Something needs to change
Daniel H — Google review
I usually enjoy Chick-fil-A because of their focus on quick and friendly service, but this location doesn’t quite meet that standard. The food tastes the same as other Chick-fil-A restaurants, but the wait times here are surprisingly long, especially considering that fast service is supposed to be one of their main priorities. Staff are polite, but the pace makes the experience less convenient than expected
Caiden L — Google review
We entered the drive thru line at 6:00 pm with a mobile order and did not get our order placed until 6:25. We spent a total of 35 minutes in the drive through waiting on our food just to find out a drink was wrong and a sandwich was missing. To go back and get my items, I still had to sit for 10 minutes in a gridlocked line. Unfortunate experience at Chick-fil-A as they are known for quick service.
Chloe H — Google review
Maybe it's because it's a college town and simply a great place to visit, but this fast food restaurant is overstaffed with smiling, helpful, polite and mannerly people. I visited on a Monday, December 26 at 600 PM. The dining area is attractive, roomy and pleasant. Everything, including the restrooms are very clean. I noticed the kitchen staff, in the back, happily laughing with one another as they worked. Clearly under good management!
K M — Google review
The slowest chick Fil an ever. It’s literally ridiculous to spend almost 30 mins each visit. And the food don’t even be hot & fresh after waiting that long period of time.

Stop by earlier in the morning, placed a mobile order that did not wind up going through properly, when we got there and sat in the drive-through the drive-through would not register our car, even after backing up and moving over. When we got up to the window we told the associate what had happened and he looked at us and said what? He then brought his manager over, this man made everything super right I wish I would've gotten his name, but he was amazing.

Five Guys is a quick-service eatery that specializes in personalized hamburgers, fries, and hot dogs. They offer the option to customize your order, which is appreciated by many customers. However, some patrons find their burgers to be messy and not up to their standards of neatness. Despite this qualm, the food overall is satisfactory and decently enjoyable. While it may not be everyone's top choice, it still receives positive feedback from numerous individuals.
I haven’t been to a five guys in over 10 years but the staff here was very friendly and helpful when explaining the menu to me. While the food is expensive, my burger, fry, and shake was definitely worth it. I haven’t had a burger that good in a while.

Haven’t eaten here in a while, but we were very disappointed at today’s visit. Lots of contributing factors : the prices, the music, the cleanliness. Employees were friendly though. Prices: husband ordered least expensive hamburger, fries and a drink. Total bill was $20! He’s the only one that ordered. Boone is a college town, and it’s astounding to think they could pay $20/ ea for lunch. Music- yes we are older folks, but the music was quite loud and not appealing to all audiences. We were the only ones in there at the time. Restaurant itself sadly was pretty untidy. Maybe due to lack of employees? Options for vegetarians: Veggies on a bun (no patty), Cheese sandwich, fries, and the peanuts. There’s no way we could bring our family of six here for under $100.

I gave this Five Guys five stars all around. Hamburgers are okay and so is the atmospere. I live in Palm Beach County FL and this Five Guys is just like the ones at home. Terrible experience. Put in order for burger, fries and a bbq sandwich with a few sides of honey mustard. Confirmed 2x with the staff that honey mustard was added. Left in a rush and got home to realize not only the sauces were forgotten but the burger was also made incorrectly. Never had such a poor experience at a cookout — it’s a shame since we live so close to this one. Would recommend going a bit further down the street to Come Back Shack.

Ordered 2 hamburgers, 2 fries, no drinks at 4:15 on Oct. 8th. The hamburgers not much bigger than a Krystal hamburger with the works and the fries were cold, I mean cold from their window. They did give a large amount of fries but I tried to eat one cold before leaving the business and it was tough and hard to chew. Got home and tried to microwave to warm up. This only made the fries tougher. I only write reviews when I feel totally ripped off. A really bad meal experience for $17.36. Will never go back. My advice; drive on by and cook your own at home for a much better meal.

Not good! It amazes me this place is this busy. The burger was horrible. I was so suprised this was what was being served. The thinnest overcooked piece of meat on a tiny little bun. Like char grilled cardboard. The sides were a joke. Cheese bites tasted like grease, onion rings were average, and the fries were just sad. Kid got a quesadilla and it was a tortilla with cheese inside. No way to mess that up I guess. The saving grace and the second star was due to a pretty good milkshake. Will not return. This place gives hope to anyone wanting to open a burger place.

My brother and I came from Indiana and decided to stop to get a bite to eat however he forgot his wallet so we had to take one meal off of our order. Our order consisted of two hotdog with everything Cajun fries, coleslaw, and a large sweet tea. For the second order we had two hotdog with everything white cheddar bites and Cajun fries and a Mr. pip. The cashier Latisa was extremely rude when asking us if we would like to cancel the entire order or pull off to the side so she can get her line down And we only had two cars behind us. She then called out for the manager on duty to void one of our meals when the manager approached her she also scrunched her face up and was very rude like she was overwhelmed, coming to assist her cashier. I got food poisoning from something I ate; The hotdog bun was hard and I’m sure it was probably supposed to be heated, but it felt still the chili sauce had a little burnt taste to it and the coleslaw wasn’t creamy like coleslaw should be. It was very dry like it came straight from the package cut up and into a cup. The Cajun fries were decent, but you get such a small amount. I felt like I bought a kids meal for $10. I’m glad my brother and I did not buy the second meal because I would’ve felt like we wasted our money. As an assistant general manager traveling from Indiana, the customer service at this restaurant is really poor and needs addressed because you never know Who What type of customers you are serving? we went through the drive-through and felt like we were rushed to order we weren’t seeking to be accommodated because we lost our wallet we just wanted to wait a few seconds to transfer more money over but instead, I told my brother we can take just one meal. The cashiers attitude needs to be adjusted or she does not need to be in customer service or at least with this company. Not only did we leave with one meal and poor service we had a poor experience getting accommodated for this type of treatment would be absurd because we live 10 hours away.

Horrible service. They forgot multiple parts of our order and when we went back they basically insinuated that we were lying and that they were so sure all the food was in the order. They made it sound like they were doing us a favor by giving us more when we didn’t get our food period. I wanted to go back to order more but I stopped myself because of the horrible service. I love the food at Cook Out but I don’t recommend this location to anyone.

Hungry Howie's Pizza is a popular pizza chain known for its variety of flavored crusts, such as sesame and garlic herb. The pizzeria offers counter service and is well-liked for its affordable prices. Customers who visited the restaurant for the first time were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which they found to be delicious. Overall, Hungry Howie's Pizza provides a great dining experience with tasty pizzas at reasonable prices.
As an consumer of many pizza establishments, I surpriseingly have never been to a Hungry Howies pizza joint before but being adventurous and hungry right before midnight, I made the right choice! Most commeners and those who lack an intelligent pallette may say "pineapple doesn't belong pizza". But as we all know, they are wrong. That's why I ordered the Howie Maui and asked for the new TNT crust, only here for a limited time. The combination of sweet pineapple, salty ham and bacon was tropical treat on a soft and perfectly browned crust. The crushed Ghost pepper in the TNT seasoning complimented the topping and didn't overwhelm my taste buds. Definitely hot for mere mortals and your average layman, but was the perfect heat for me.

I frequently order their gluten free pizza and it usually is my favorite. When I ordered one this past time, it did not look like a gluten free pizza. I called and sent them a picture of what it looked like. Even though they swore it was gluten free, it really didn’t look like it. I didn’t want to risk it so I threw it away. Sad I couldn’t receive a solution and wish I could’ve gotten another pizza or a refund. Below are pictures of what I received and what the gluten free crust usually looks like. there is a very distinct difference. The gluten free pizza always has that ‘drop’ or ‘lip’ in between the pie and the crust. I don’t usually make a deal about this but it happens all the time and it’s frustrating to waste money on something you can’t eat

Large order (multiple pizzas, multiple sandwiches) included plain breadsticks, which comes with sauce. Ordered extra sauce. Delivery did not include _any_ sauce. Called the store. They said that’s too bad, they have a policy not to make good on failed orders for sauce. They can’t even come up with a coupon for breadsticks or a free soda or maybe a few dollars off on the next order? How about just putting a couple bucks back on our card? Nope. Previous deliveries they have failed to include items, but we had other options on hand and shrugged it off. I mean, you can’t eat plain breadsticks without the sauce. It’s dry bread sprinkled with powder to make it even drier. If you ordered pizza and they forgot the sauce, would they say that’s too bad? Have to mention that everyone was polite. The delivery driver was super nice. The order was on time. All other food items were of expected quality.

This is such an underrated place. The standard pizza needs to be the thin crust well done, extra sauce, with garlic and buttery crust. It doesn't matter what toppings you put, it will almost always be amazing. @ownership recommend this pizza to all. Most people don't know what the best thing to order is, make it easy for them! Also, your gluten free pizza is also really good. All this at such a great price point.

No DONUT HOLES...WHAT? Krispy Kreme of Boone needs to step up their donut game. The "lobby" is NOT open to customers. Drive thru ONLY! Time to open up your business to the public. The drive thru was s l o w. The employee didn't even know what they did with the center of the donuts when asked. 😉 Enjoy!
Evan G — Google review
THE SIGN IS A LIE!!! Donuts were reheated, NOT FRESH. I had never eaten a donut before one of my friends convinced me to go to the Krispy Kreme in Schaumburg, IL. That fateful night in the fall of 2004 changed my life forever. I was 22 years old and had just been introduced to the love of my life: a hot, fresh, plump, succulent, Krispy Kreme original. Fast forward 15 years, I try to eat healthy but there's no fighting the lure of that Hot-Fresh-Now sign. Tonight, while driving my wife and three young children through winding roads toward our vacation destination in Blowing Rock, NC, we pass by a familiar sign and we have to turn back. We were all excited for the Krispy Kreme experience but we were not prepared for the deception that lay in wait for us all. We ordered a dozen assorted donuts (the kids just HAD to have the spring specials) upon taking that first bite I knew something was amiss. I was expecting it to be soft, sweet and crispy. I was expecting it to melt in my mouth. Instead, it was chewy and hard and nothing like a normal Krispy Kreme. My wife asked if they were reheated and the girl at the counter replied that they were. "But what about the HOT NOW sign? Doesn't that mean you just made them?", my wife said inquisitively. "Well, they're hot", was the only reply. This isn't only deceptive, it's damaging to the brand. How can we trust anything, if even Krispy Kreme will lie to save a buck.

Stopped at this Krispy Kreme, September 28, 2021 in Boone NC as I had been here a year ago. Got to the front door found it to be locked.... only the drive thru was open. A little strange that all the other restaurants, ice cream shops, etc were open for inside dining or carryout but I'm beginning to see this type of tren often. So I really wanted to try the newly advertised cinnamon roll they currently were selling and reluctantly went to the drive thru. Got my order and went to a nearby park to try the cinnamon roll but was a little disappointed as it didn't look much at all the way the photo on the drive thru listing board. Another reason I don't care for drive thru. Also they provided no napkins however the person working the drive thru was very nice. I did eat the cinnamon roll and a regular glazed donut which were delicious. My main point here is most people going to pick out bakery items like to see or pick out the items rather than drive thru. Plus they may even buy more.... better for business..🤔

went to krispy kreme after a stressful class, ordered half a dozen glazed doughnuts. lady looks at me dead in the eyes and says “you had the 6 glazed right?” now tell me why i open the box and it looks like this
Reece P — Google review
So disappointed in this Krispy Kreme. We've tried them 6 times in the past 3 years. Today's experience has smaller donuts which is no surprise. My donut had next to nothing on the creme filling and my husband's red velvet cake donut also lacked in resembling their pic with a donut topped with icing. Not worth $2.25 a piece. I understand locations are franchised and this particular location is failing to measure up to the Krisy Kreme reputation.
Melissa L — Google review
I've always been given delicious fresh donuts every time I've come through here, never once an old or stale donut. In addition to this, their service is BLINDINGLY quick in my experience. I got 2 dozen donuts from a drive through and was given them with zero delay. Impressive! What inspired me to leave a review is just how kind and chipper the employees are here. They always seem very eager to serve you and will cheer you up. It is worth mentioning that the inside of the shop is closed and the drive thru ONLY is open, but I doubt this is due to choice. Lots of places are understaffed and I'm guessing by the "help wanted" signs present in the drive thru windows that this place is too. For a business working during these times, between the pandemic and the "great resignation" as many are calling it, they are doing a wonderful job in my opinion.
John D — Google review
Great place! We went there because if you are in elementary school(and maybe high school) and you bring your report card, they will give each child one donut for EVERY 'A' that you have. We brought our two young sisters and they walked out with half a dozen donuts EACH. Pretty cool!(the limit per person for doing this is 6 donuts). They usually have hot and fresh glazed donuts, which are AMAZING! And for kids, they have classic paper donut-maker little hats you can wear.

Bojangles is a fast-food chain that offers Southern-inspired cuisine, specializing in fried chicken and biscuits along with signature sides. Customers have had positive experiences at various locations, praising the quick service and fresh, hot food. The restaurant's cleanliness and friendly staff have also been highlighted as contributing factors to its appeal. Despite some minor inconveniences like unclear operating hours, customers generally appreciate the quality of the food and the pleasant service they receive when visiting Bojangles.
Stopped inside to place a to-go order for 11 people (the bride & bridesmaids) to have breakfast together while getting ready at the wedding venue. I made a comment in passing to the cashier (young looking, blonde hair) what we were doing that day. I am making this review because of him. His customer service skills were excellent and he made sure everything in our bag was right for a relatively big order. Thanks to everyone on staff that morning for preparing the food as well.

This place is a disgrace to bojangles. I love bojangles and have never been served a raw biscuit. As someone who works the fast food industry if I ever served someone something raw I would get bitched out. They also don’t have the proper number listed online so I have to backtrack they’re number because they posted the number for a different location.

They should be ashamed to be apart Bojangles, the Fountain Machine is moldy. They need to clean the restaurant better. I can't imagine what they kitchen looks like. There going to get someone sick. When we first came to this restaurant we was going to get a Family Box but the cashier said they didn't have any bone in chicken. Only good thing I can say about this place is the cashier was friendly but they need to clean better.

This place is a disgrace to Bojangles. This is a sausage egg biscuit from 2/1/25 at about 8:30am. We also got 2 large sweet teas that ended up being unsweetened. Called and was told “no refunds” and I’m not driving 15 mins back to town to get everything replaced. Ridiculous, will never be back.
Bobby L — Google review
One of the dirtiest Bojangles I've ever been in. We went two weeks ago and it was clean. I do not know what happened since then, but there was not a single clean table, trash on the floor and everywhere else. I heard at least two people get the wrong order in our short time there. And somehow the bathrooms were worse. Will not go back to this location after today's experience.

Me and my roomate decided to go here for breakfast Saturday morning after a long night of dancing. Let’s just say nothing could have hit the spot better. First off the cashier was so kind and patient with us. Second the food was hot and delicious. I even shed a tear. We’ll 100% be back.

My soda of choice each time i come here is Starry. The last 3 times ive gotten food here, what I’ve gotten is NOT starry. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the machine or something not being done right by employees or what, but i would say 60% of the time when I get a starry from this Bojangles, it is not mixed right at all. Instead of a starry, what i end up drinking is basically a club soda, fizzy water, carbonated water, whatever you want to call it. No lime, no lemon, just carbonated water. This has been going on for months now and im honestly fed up. Fix your soda machines
Srh R — Google review
I used to go thru the drive thru almost every day, but the biscuits are now so dry and crumbly, that I rarely visit now. They fall apart when we try to eat them. I don't know if you have changed recipes, or if you have an inexperienced biscuit maker, but something needs to change. You no longer have a good product

This is supposed to be my honey chipotle chicken bowl with romaine. No romaine. Barely any chicken. Ridiculously tiny portion size. The Boone location is consistently one of the worst Chipotle’s I’ve ever been to.
L D — Google review
I've definitely had better Chipotle experiences. This was my first time at this location (traveling). Upon arrival, I noticed a sign on the door which stated that due to staffing that they were only taking online orders. I don't fault them for that and I appreciated knowing that before walking in. Okay, let's talk about the food. My youngest got a quesadilla kids meal and she said that was the best cheese quesadilla she's ever had at a Chipotle! She loved how stringy the cheese was. We actually ordered a steak quesadilla but the steak was on the side (unsure if that's how it normally comes or not). My daughter bit into the steak and said it hurt her teeth. We were eating there and asked for more protein since it was overcooked and switched to chicken. The chicken was fresh and moist and flavorful (I tasted it). I ordered steak tacos and for the little amount of steak I got, it was severely overcooked. There was no moisture left in that steak. Also, the soft taco shells were not soft. They felt old/stale. I can't speak to the friendless of the staff. I saw two people putting orders together and occasionally saw a third person. We were not greeted upon walking inside. I only heard them speak to call out names of orders of people waiting inside for their food. They were however working hard to get orders done. I personally would not return to this Chipotle. ***Update to my initial review**** As a follow-up, we contacted Chipotle, hoping they would make things right. Instead, we received a pitiful amount of points, barely enough to purchase a taco shell. This response is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I would rather my review stand than be misled into thinking the company would resolve the issue, only to be given such a meager and unsatisfactory resolution.
Adriana P — Google review
Food was decent, but the restaurant was poorly cleaned. Every single table was dirty. Cleaned our own table. Trash overflowing and staff was not busy, but def not cleaning. Would not recommend. Chipotle in Raleigh would never look so bad!
Laura M — Google review
We did mobile ordering and I went inside to wait for the food. This restaurant was absolutely filthy. Every single eating area was covered in cheese, corn and lettuce as was the floorm. I wish I had taken a picture. If we had gone in to eat we definitely would have turned and left. My bowl was 1/2 full and lacking the vegetables I ordered. The white rice was somewhat under cooked (crunchy) I just can't understand a national chain restaurant in such need of an overhaul.
Russell M — Google review
I hate leaving a negative review, but this business needs a major management overhaul. They simply cannot manage the food. I’ve been here twice in the past month and they were out of veggies both times and out of Guacamole the second time. Out of GUAC!? When asked if they could cook more veggies (at noon btw) they declined. How can a restaurant, that makes money on serving food, not manage to keep food available?? And we’re talking bell peppers and onions. You can literally buy them anywhere! Do better so I can leave a 5 star review next time please.
James L — Google review
I was getting a burrito and was told that there is no longer white rice for the night so i just got the brown rice instead. Right after he filled it with brown rice they re stocked white rice.. At first I didn’t really care up until later on when i ate the burrito and it tasted so bad because first of all the brown rice was hard and crunchy and second of all they put so much liquid in it from the beans that my burrito was legit falling apart from how wet the tortilla was getting. Also the workers are kinda rude in there they act like you’re forcing them to work. Oh and last thing they never load up the burritos because for some odd reason they feel the need to ration the food.

Jimmy John's is a fast food chain known for their speedy service and delicious sub and club sandwiches, accompanied by their distinctive potato chips. With their "freaky fast" campaign, they have gained a reputation for delivering orders quickly, so much so that by the time you reach the payment window after ordering at the speaker, your sandwich is already prepared.
I haven't eaten Jimmy John's in years due to a poor experience I had about 5 years back at a different location. However, I wanted a sub delivered to my workplace and Jimmy John's was across the street from me so I decided to give them another shot. I ordered delivery and my food arrived a bit ahead of schedule. The delivery driver was precise, kind, and had a positive vibe about him. My sandwich was absolutely delicious. The bread was fresh, the deli was cold and full of good flavors, and the veggies were fresh, cold, and crunchy. They also honored my request of extra mayo. (You'd be surprised how often this is ignored by lots of sub places when ordering delivery.) The sandwich was ordered with a drink, an absolutely stupendous chocolate chip cookie, and a delicious cold, flavorful, and zesty whole pickle cut into quarters. I was having a tough workday and this completely uplifted my mood by making my lunch beyond pleasant and very very enjoyable. To the employees of this establishment, I give you a very heart-felt thank you for that. I had a great experience with this Jimmy John's and will be back very soon to get a free sub I was rewarded in the app. I'm excited!

First of all, your service providers have lost I'm sure a great deal of customers due to their attitudes. That being said, I think management needs to be more hands on with them. My son's birthday was yesterday and we took him to Jimmy John's because he wanted a sub, and so.... Naturally we took him to the first place we could find and there was Jimmy John's. And I'm kind of glad we did, because if we hadn't experienced the negative customer service and the constant rejection of a sandwich being made and sold, I wouldn't have found my new "FAVORITE" sub shop! Which is right Beside of this place. I think Boone is sleeping on Penn station . It's amazing. I paid twice as much and I would do it again too ! I will "NEVER EVER NOR MY FAMILY HO TO JIMMY JOHNS" not even if I had a full family offering of free subs to regain my thoughts about how I was treated compared to the person in front of me, I didn't ask much but a sub be toasted and to take the mayo off of. I asked about the two meats they had since they didn't have pepperoni and the guy taking my order had the WORST attitude, if he didn't want to be helpful, then why is he working there ? Either way. His lack of knowledge or want to do anything which is a part of his job.... Had me thinking he may have been just trying to get out of doing anything for anyone. The experience left me wondering how they're staying in business and those thoughts didn't leave shortly after I left either. All in all, I'll never go back there and I will let people know about the atmosphere as well.....
Rae S — Google review
Very confusing menu. The service was good. The food was mediocre at best but it's the price for what you get is the issue. My sandwich was so overpriced. I can make a week's worth of lunches for the same price that I paid for a small sandwich.

This was better than my last experience there. Seemed freshly made vs last experience.

People working in there picked bacon off that ground and put it in the oven and put it on my wife’s sandwich. What the hell is wrong with y’all?
Jakob F — Google review
I visited this location recently, compared to the downtown one it is run poorly and inefficiently. I've never had slow service at a Jimmy Johns before, and they ask if you want to tip, which also has never happened at a JJ's before. It wouldn't bug me so much but they screwed up my order, wouldn't recommend this location.

Barberitos is a popular Southwestern eatery where customers can order at the counter. Known for their delicious burritos and salsa bar, this chain offers catering services as well. Customers have praised Barberitos for its convenient and informal taco bar option, allowing them to enjoy a wedding reception without the formality of traditional catering. The staff is punctual, efficient, and meticulous in setting up the food according to specific requirements. The cuisine is extremely fresh and tasty, surpassing expectations.
Barberitos has some of the best Mexican/American food in the High Country. The burritos are HUGE (I opt for the burrito bowls, also HUGE). Quesadillas are stuffed full and the veggies are all fresh. The meats are prepared in-house and specialty orders are the norm. The staff is very friendly and there are daily specials that include a drink. Below are the nachos (HUGE) with shredded pork under those veggies. Did I mention the tortilla chips are fried in-house? And that the portions are HUGE. I did? Ok, cool.

I don’t understand what has happened to this place. I’ve been twice recently and had the same experience both times. I am hoping some of the poor reviews help the manager see this restaurant needs attention. Not only were they out of nearly everything, the place was nasty. Tables were filthy, drink machine nasty, no salsa out. No lids for the cups. I’m just in total shock. Staff was overwhelmed as well. Food was bland. My spinach burrito had the most awful smell to it, it turned my stomach. My kids didn’t even enjoy their meals. Will not be returning unfortunately.

In a town where tourists reign supreme, lack of service is expected, but actively working to be worse in that environment is the way things are now. Short version is we were moving our kid, made an order online it was confirmed we headed over to get our food. We got there and there was a handwritten note on the door saying closed early. Three employees were inside and refused to acknowledge our presence even when we knocked on the glass. So I decided to send a complaint to the company. This is the only correspondence I received: Dear Mr. Apologies for the experience Sunday. We’ve had several issues with 3rd party vendors for online ordering. Your charges have been sent in for a refund. Should take 24/48 hours. Thanks Way to miss the point completely. ??? Save your money or go elsewhere.

It was very good. Burrito Bowls are usually one of the most abused menu items in the restaurant industry. Barberitos had many choice that were varied and fresh tasting. Rice and beans too salty though. I seriously stopped because the road sign said healthy!!!!

This place is almost identical to Moe's, so if you like Moe's, you will like this place. We ordered 4 taco bowls. ---NEGATIVE--- 1. (-1 Star) The guy that started our order added unwanted onions to one order and unwanted tomatoes to the other. The second guy had to fix it (The first guy was very friendly, just moving to fast.) He was just trying to move to fast. Needs to slow down a little. --- POSITIVES --- 1. Friendly staff. 2. Prices were reasonable. 3. Food was very good. 4. Good choices. 5. Lots of food for the price. One of anything you order is plenty.

I’ve eaten here in the past and don’t recall it being so terrible. However my experience last night was AWFUL! I’ve never had such bland food in my life ! My school lunches were better than this. I’m sure prison food would be gourmet compared to this place. I feel like the owners have no care for their company and desire to see it thrive. Like someone had given them the opportunity to try their food to see what could make it better and they refused and said, “It’s fine, it’s good, I don’t need to try it in order for me to make money.” Seriously the only explanation I could think of for a company to have such terrible food. I’m still in shock by how terrible it was, how filthy the restaurant was, and how quickly this place has gone downhill.
S E — Google review
I ordered from their website just for some fast Mexican food that I could pick up without talking to anyone. Didn’t realize they were a chain, but honestly would not have cared had it not turned out that the $18 fajita I ordered — which the website showed a photograph of those restaurant fajita plates with the rice/beans/veggies sides for — was actually just a burrito with chips like the menu’s $8 burritos. When I asked the employees about this they were visibly confused and just threw some beans and rice in a container for me to make up for it. (I read the ticket they were given by their system, so I know it’s not their fault.) However, I also watched them put a plain avocado on my burrito rather than the guacamole I paid extra for. My food was supposed to come with salsa as well and I watched the employee take a condiment to-go container over to the salsa bar, realize the kind I ordered was not on the bar, and instead of getting more from the back or asking if I wanted a different kind they just didn’t do anything. So I got a bag of chips with nothing to eat them with, and my burrito was very salsa-less and tasteless. The entire restaurant was also absolutely disgusting when I walked in, I would never suggest dining there. This was on Tuesday though and I filled out the complaint and feedback forms they linked in my receipt email that night, which state that I should hear back in 1-2 days. It is Friday and I was never contacted by management. I’m pretty sure that the $18 was supposed to be $8 and was a problem with the website, so all I wanted was my $10 back or at least a coupon for a future order. I’ve worked at similar restaurants for years and know how management is supposed to handle these things. Instead, I’ve heard absolutely nothing. I tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but at this point, I will never be returning and my friends have specifically asked about this location so they know never to eat there. I advise you do the same.

Wendy's is not just your average fast-food burger joint; it offers a delightful array of sides, including chili and baked potatoes that can complement any meal. I waited 15 minutes for a young woman to take our order. She seemed very befuzzled about the orders in front of of her and kept saying that she would be with us in a minute. Once she took our order, I waited 15 more minutes for our food. One tray appeared to have one of our orders but when I asked about it, a server said it wasn’t ours. Another 15 minutes went by and a different server called out my name and pushed the tray I asked about toward me. I explained that I had asked if it was mine 15 minutes ago and was told it wasn’t. Since I had watched it sitting there the entire time, I asked her to replace the cold fries and hamburger, which she did. The rest of the order came out 5 minutes later. Perhaps the manager might want to invest some time into further training for his staff.

I usually dont ever leave reviews except if it is completely terrible. So I walked in and went to the regerister. I sat there and watched about 6-7 employees working for about 15 minutes give ot take. But not a single one noticed me or made eye contact or even care about me. I get it this down has college kids who dont care about anything or customers or there job. Then she told me if I ordered food it would cold by the time I got, which made zero sense. I am a restaurant person and I understand. They had terrible people, the So called manger was not helping and maybe making frosty. The Wendy's in Boone needs better employees and better management. These people are costing you alot of money. After 30 + minutes waste of time I am heading to cook out. Booo Wendy's Booooo

Pepper that barely comes out like Waffle House is trying to keep you from using too much. The smallest possible napkins ever. Go to Troy's Diner if the hours are btwn 7am and 11pm. The bathrooms at this Waffle House are like National Forest bathrooms with toilet paper on those little vertical spindle things. There are no paper towels, not even a dispenser. An air dryer that was slightly warm at best and lasted 5 seconds at a time. Not busy at all. Not understaffed. I'd hate to see what it's like when this place is actually busy. No water. Took 10 min to get coffee and another 5 minutes to get creamer. Unnattentive server Destiny. Waited 10 minutes to order food even tho it was slow, and I had already told her that I was ready to order. Took another 5 minutes after my food had been on the bar to get silverware, and I had to ask the Cook/Manager??? (who was usually on his phone) for the silverware because I was getting the run around from Destiny again. Cook/Manager??? not even wearing a name tag (smaller, shorter white guy with short brown hair) and bragging in front of customers how he can kick customers out if Destiny wants him to. Pathetic. The truth is that this particular "slightly raucous"table had probably just experienced the same trash service that I was also receiving. Destiny bragged openly in front of customers how she gave them the "shut down" as in be quiet or get out. Destiny was constantly saying she'd be right back and then taking care of other customers when it was not busy at all. 1 sec to Destiny equals 5 to 10 minutes when it was not busy at all. I waited another 5 minutes to pay my bill even tho she was doing absolutely nothing at the time. I'm pretty sure that I paid for gravy that I definitely never received. Sub-par limited menu food as always. Fatty undrained greasy bacon. Cold grits with no butter brought out way too early before the rest of my food. Inside atmosphere way too cold as always. I've heard from other former employees that they keep it super cold inside like that because it's more comfortable behind the bar for the employees. Go to Troy's Diner if at all possible people! Waffle House has gone way downhill these days, and I will never be back to the Boone, NC Waffle House unless I can absolutely help it. What a joke of an establishment, and it wasn't even busy. The overall manager of this place should be fired and replaced. I'm not one to typically leave bad reviews, and I usually tip heavy, especially at places like this, but I couldn't, in all truth, rationalize more than a 5% tip. Sorry, Destiny. I guess learn to do your job better. Adopt a "server" attitude and not an "I control this situation" attitude. If you make guests wait when you are "chit-chatting" with another table while other guests have already told you they are ready to order, then you will forever get teeny tiny tips. I didn't want to tip at all to be completely honest. Silverware should come out with the food, and the creamer should come with the coffee. It shouldn't take 10-15 minutes to order food after someone says they're ready. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to get coffee and creamer. Take peoples orders asap when they say they are ready. This place was not busy!!! If people are ready to order or waiting on something that they already asked you for, then don't busy yourself with dishes and receipts and studying the menu. I'll say it one last time, this place wasn't even busy! I've been a server before, and this was trash service with sub-par food as a punishment for deciding to come here. Total disappointment, really. That's why I don't come to Waffle House anymore if I can help it. No stars. Worst restaurant in Boone ever, except for the local jail, lol. Go to Troy's Diner only 2 minutes away if at all possible. This is not an advertisement for Troy's. This is the truth. Words to the wise. Avoid this place at all costs. You will absolutely regret it. Absolutely pathetic service from Ava. The meals came within a reasonable time however, one was short the bacon the other was short the sausage others were short toast and jelly, and it took nearly 20 minutes to get a waffle. She never one time looked at us ask us what we could want. I walked up three times and confronted her to ask for things and she looked at me like I was bothering her and not to mention that there was only about four people in the restaurant. I would advise Ava to look into another line of work as Customer Service is not for her. Again, absolutely pathetic, probably some of the worst service I’ve had you know she could at least smiled one time.

McDonald's, the iconic fast-food chain that has been a staple for burger and fry lovers for decades, continues to serve up its classic menu items. While some offerings may not hit the mark—like the Steak Egg Cheese Bagel which received mixed reviews due to its artificial taste—there are still plenty of reasons to visit. The experience can be enhanced by friendly staff who go above and beyond, as seen when a kind employee ensured an order was accurate and neatly packaged during a special birthday celebration.
We placed a large curbside pickup order on the app for our son's birthday. The young lady who brought out our food was so kind and thoughtful. She had double checked our order for us and put all of our condiments in a small separate bag to make it easier for us. Even with a large order and a special order it was perfectly correct.
Sarita J — Google review
It was the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. I was trying to order at the counter and was told no one was available to put in my order. So I put my order in on the mobile app. Ordered a 3 piece chicken strips meal and a Quarter Deluxe. It looked like they used a Big Mac patty and bun, was the smallest and messiest Quarter Pounder I have seen. Next time I'm in North Carolina, I will definitely go the extra miles for another McDonald's.
Darlene F — Google review
I used to be able to come here, get my meal and leave relatively quickly. This morning, when the line wasn’t that long, it took 30 minutes to get my order. It was a chicken biscuit, a drink, and a hash brown. Total of 30 minutes for a 3 item meal costing $8 even. I can also hear the employees from the drive through window conversing over who is doing what, and it sounds very unorganized. This isn’t the first time this has happened; it seems to be a common occurrence for me and now, after looking through some recent reviews, it seems like it’s not just me.
Caitlain M — Google review
Waited for 35 minutes before cutting our losses and leaving. Multiple other customers left as well. 30+ people waiting for their orders. Watched a coffee maker drip coffee onto the counter before someone realized the pot wasn’t there to catch it. Sheer insanity, stay away.
Drew B — Google review
Horrible service in the app will not work accurately it says it's ready and you still wait 20-30 minutes at the counter after the app has said it's ready for pickup I can understand if it was all 5 minutes or so but every time I go to McDonald's the app and the actual kitchen are totally off sink and it's inaccurate unexcusable when it's that much of a difference and not much of a occurrence just to make them look good on their times not cool then I've had instances where my food's been ready and it be sitting on the counter and I'm not even give it to you ridiculous I understand times have gotten harder with more deliveries and more people and more services than used to but it's still ridiculous and the rude customer service

The food is always good, but every single time we order through the app, the food just is not ready, even after 30 minutes. It was a place that we relied on for a quick easy meal before work, but now all it’s doing is making us late. We will not be coming back.

This beloved chain eatery specializes in mouthwatering fried chicken fingers and wings, along with a variety of sandwiches that are sure to satisfy your cravings. Located in Boone, North Carolina, Zaxby's offers not just great food but also a welcoming atmosphere.
Absolutely unbelievably insanely good food wow oh my God it is so good. You should bring your entite extended family here especially if they like chicken because the chicken is wow so insanely good wow it is so good. One time when I came to Zaxby's I got the chicken tacos and it was so incredible and I couldn't contain how excited I was because it was so good and I started crying of pure joy. Thank you Zaxby's God bless the incredible employees of this amazing restaurant. Especially the cashiers they are so great especially this one dude who is really cool who I keep forgetting the name of but he's really cool and does really good work. I also have so many good ideas for chicken recipes so if Zaxby's wanna hit me up then 👍

It looks like a bite was taken out of my nibbler. I guess that’s why they’re called nibblers haha; bc the workers nibble on it when they make your food. Seriously though, I don’t like to complain often. But after pulling forward, away from the drive through window to wait only 30secs for my food to be ready, makes no sense as there was no line behind me! This requires the employee to walk far away from the kitchen to just hand me my food when I was already at the window, where the workers are and where the food is prepared. I just don’t understand why fast food places can’t seem to figure out how to efficiently get orders out. Nine times out of ten, I have no complaints from Zaxbys. And They are always very friendly. However, today I am rather upset with the quality of the food I received today. $15 for a meal that looks messed up. I won’t be ordering nibblers again.
Byron H — Google review
Really disappointed. Food was not very good. The signature chicken sandwich was suprisingly small and dripping with sauce. Three pickles stacked on top of one another. Just a really sloppy, dissapointing sandwich. I have only ate at Zaxbys twice and in my opinion it doesn't even come close to Popeyes, KFC, or ChikFilAs chicken sandwiches, especially when there is no effort putting the sandwich together. Kids meals were a joke and the fries were so salty kids didn't even finish there tiny portions. Sample size rice krispy treats are supposed to be a treat for kids? Too bad but I will not be back!
CornBread ! — Google review
Beginning to figure out that Zaxby's secret ingredient is salt. Woke up with powerful thirsts twice after a dinner of wings and things. Been a longtime fan of this meal. Always ordered Tongue Torch. Decided to try lemon pepper rub. Great taste, but I ordered traditional wings and received boneless, aka nuggets. Was parked as they prepared chicken I was told while 3 customers behind me received bags of food and left before I could. Pleasant staff. Just another fast food business that's on a slow death course. Seems this is happening in most drive through. At almost $15 per order, you'd hope you would at least get what you ordered.
Jamey A — Google review
If you're a fan of Zaxby's, you might want to skip this location. I've given it several tries because it's convenient, but it consistently falls short. Prices are noticeably higher than other nearby Zaxby’s—like the one in Lenoir—and the food quality just doesn’t measure up. My most recent order was a platter that came with a tiny spoonful of coleslaw that tasted off, like it was the last of a batch that should have been tossed. The chicken tenders didn’t seem fully cooked either. For the price, I expected better.
Lisa — Google review
Ordered on the app, picked sauces for my order not knowing it gets tossed in your selection(we prefer it on the side because we share and split them). Asked for it to be remade plain before leaving the drive thru, and they weren't even willing to fix a simple mistake, now that is nobody's fault directly other than how the app is set up. But still, that's a simple fix and they weren't willing when I feel like any other business would. Last time at Zaxby's. I worked here at one point and it happened all the time.

Taco Bell is a beloved fast-food chain that specializes in delicious Mexican-inspired dishes, including tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. A recent visit highlighted the exceptional service at their drive-thru; even during a late-night rush, the staff was friendly and engaging.
Chili cheese burritos are back, baby! I had a really large order that I placed through the app...like $150.00 big. This store got the order perfect! Not one single thing was missing! They were awesome!!!

I don’t know what the deal is with this Taco Bell. The last time I came, the quesadilla was SO good, tasted like the old ones when fast food was done right. This time, I had an entire piece of my quesadilla with NOTHING in it. Not the first time food hasn’t been great here but it’s the closest one to me so I keep trying. The only thing saving this place from a 1 or 2 star is how good it was last time.

My partner and i had the pleasure of coming through Taco Bell today (7/11) at 12:55 am before they closed. The person working the drive thru was incredibly warm, charming, funny, and kind. We were unfortunately so caught up in conversation, we didn’t check our food, and we lost out on a food item. They had already closed, but we called and got a hold of someone. They told us to come back once they opened and they rectified our food order. This has been one of the best food experiences despite the mix up. Thank you guys!
Rebekah S — Google review
I absolutely love Taco Bell, but this Boone one is one of worst managed Taco Bell’s I have been to. Countless times I have had beans on my burritos after selecting no beans in the app as I am allergic, and that is just one of the many things they leave on food items when I specifically select “none”. My girlfriend is vegetarian and has gotten chicken on her cheese quesadillas as well. And when a refund is requested on the app, it is never responded to. The food is by far the lowest quality at any time other than late at night. When Bricy is working, my order is never wrong and he is always accommodating

Probably the most incompetent and worst managed taco bell ive ever seen. 43 minutes in line at a fast food place, theres 8 people in the kitchen and it doesnt seem like any of em have a clue what theyre doing.
Stephen D — Google review
Taco bell has been gangstalking and gaslighting me for approximately 16 years, and have been purposely targeting me for the purpose of a secret government experiment. I know this because every time, without a doubt, they will forget 75% of my order and gaslight me into believing $15 is sufficient to be reparations for my $25 experiences. I was thrilled to encounter two luxe boxes and one of the new burrito options. I was very excited, as I don't frequent fast food because the experiment I am being forced to participate in requires an intense diet and training. Well..... Low and behold..... To my surprise.... They did it again.... I was so excited to eat two bean burritos and chips with cheese. The blonde woman who works in the drive thru appears to be (Not too sure) one of the people who follow me throughout the streets of North Carolina. I believe that the people at Taco Bell are deliberately trying to hurt me and deprive me of my basic needs, which is a violation of our human rights and unalienable rights. I don't desire a full apology, reply, as I am stating my personal experiences and fantastical beliefs with this establishment. In summary: Boone Taco Bell in 2025 📉

Domino's Pizza is a popular delivery and takeout chain that offers a wide variety of pizzas as well as other dishes and sides. The restaurant prides itself on providing excellent service, with efficient and friendly delivery personnel like Harrison. Customers appreciate the quality of the food, which is always made to their liking without being under or overcooked. The establishment maintains high standards of cleanliness and efficiency, as evidenced by the many people working together to ensure orders are prepared correctly.
BEST DOMINOS I’VE HAD IN MY LIFE. My carry out order took a few moments longer than expected, but it was clearly busy when we arrived. The team communicated with one another with a sea of orders to make, it was clean, organized, and the staff members were courteous. The pizza had a perfect doneness to its crust— golden and crunchy but not so much that it hurt your mouth, yet supple inside. The toppings were evenly dispersed and in a perfect, appropriate amount. A+. 10/10. Thanks, y’all!

Folks that work here appear clean and professional. They are always kind and the food has always been delicious! I love Domino’s ‘new’ pizza recipe. We ordered online from the app, once our pasta was delivered we found a black hair in it. We called the store, and Justin answers the phone, and we told him and then got hung up on. We then waited a few minutes, and called back. This time, a gentleman who sound exactly like Justin answered the phone by the name of Brandon, I said I have our order number, and a picture of the hair and immediately got hung back up on. Not sure what kind of service this is but hair in food with no worry is not okay

Almost every time I have ordered from this Domino's, it is late and I am given points for a free pizza. Today, I used my points for a free pizza and it has taken over an hour to even reach the oven according to the app. I tried calling just to see if the app was wrong and check on the order and we spent about 30 minutes on the phone without anyone answering.

Good Food you can enjoy, was made perfect as you like, Not over baked nor unbaked. Satisfying Experience you would expect Place is clean & many people working together to get things right Order was bit delayed compared to what it showed on app as ready early. But Overall Experience was GOOD...

Ordered a thin with no cheese cause that’s the only one that my daughter can have due to food allergies and added pineapple. My husband got back to our cabin 20 min away and it’s burn and there’s no pineapple. I called and they said they could replace it or credit a free pizza. Only problem is to get another one would be another 40 minutes minimum due to driving there and back. And the credit is useless cause we are only here on vacation and won’t be back to use it at the specific store. Kinda bummed but oh well.

The tater rounds are also a hit—crispy without being greasy! Customers appreciate the friendly service and quick turnaround times when dining in or using the drive-thru.
In the past two months I've been to this location three times and I'm happy to say I've been very satisfied every time. I always order inside with minimal wait time and the staff have been friendly. The hamburger and fries have been hot and fresh. I feel this BK is trying very hard to make their customers happy.

The service was slow, the staff weren't friendly, the food tasted like chemicals, and the entire place was disgusting. The floors had trash on them, the trash cans were overflowing, none of the tables were clean, and the bathrooms clearly hadn't been clean in days, if not weeks. I have never been in a worse burger king.

Only place I know in town to get my favorite burger quickly: the impossible (veggie). The fries were fresh and salted evenly. The ketchup is a bit on the thin side but tastes good. The tea was a bit strong, but that’s perfect over ice. Very kind and helpful staff. The place is looking a bit dated and cleanliness is about average; the clientele aren’t looking as sketchy as they were a year or two ago and it’s not exactly your positive vibe Chipotle feel, but at least it feels safer without folks sleeping under the bushes. Enjoyed the Phil Collin’s 80’s music! : )

47 minutes in the drive-through is too long to wait for anything! I was 8th in line and there are nine cars behind me. This would be a specially harrowing to bring children. Arby's is a quick-service eatery renowned for its roast beef, offering an array of hot and cold sandwiches, fries, and shakes. During a recent lunch visit, the reviewer ordered some classic Beef n Cheddar sandwiches alongside a 9 piece nugget with zesty buffalo sauce. They also enjoyed the white cheddar mac n cheese and curly fries. While the fries lacked seasoning, everything else was satisfyingly delicious.
The lady taking the order was as cold and rude as you'd expect from fast food, huffing and puffing under her breath about having to make adjustments to the order. And while that's the experience you'd expect from this Arby's, the next interaction was not. To Evan, who took my payment and provided my food: You earned this store a 5 star review. You were kind, warm and smiled throughout the interaction. You ensured the food I ordered was in the bag, and said please and thank you. Something your counterpart would have no part of (and even seemed cold and rude to you when she handed the order to you). Just know that the general public appreciates you, and folks like you, Evan. Arby’s of boone is possibly the worst Arby’s I ever have experiences with, and why I ever talk myself into going back is beyond me but rest assured I won’t be back. Everytime you go they short you on your food and when you order a second order of fries and they charge you for it and don’t put it in the bag? The following day I ordered and nothing was done. Fine, no huge deal at the time, I only wanted to try the new item any ways. Fast forward to today. Ordered my food and wanted to try the new pizza and ordered BBQ boneless wings and they came as boneless hot wings (Pic below)... called and they offered a comp which I said no, because they didn't comp from the last issue. Twice I have ordered and twice I have had issues. I will say I do really appreciate the delivery driver taking the time to try and fix the issue. He did more than the managers there. I will also say that I won't be reordering from this location again and will go to the new Pizza Hut.

I ordered online and had it delivered. The pizza was great but I put the address for where it was to be delivered to but they changed the address and the poor delivery girl from doordash had a hard time finding me. Thankfully doordash gives you the phone number for the driver and I called and told her where I was. They really need to work on their website and fix it so that your address doesn't get changed after you put it in...

Service was very bad. Took forever, employee was not doing his job right. He was not professional at all. Standing there with is hands up at his mouth, hair hanging down , and in his phone. Not paying attention to the pizzas coming out. Something really should be said to him . Not sure who he is just know he had different colored hair. Not professional at all.

This Papa John’s is fantastic. Delivery was surprisingly fast and the food was great.
Kenya W — Google review
It is what you would expect from a good pizza parlor; busy, flour all over the nice folks that make the nice food for us. Parking needs help.

On 5/30/24 Order placed for 15 pizzas to be delivered at 11:30am on 5/31/24. Called at 11:40 and was told 30 pizzas were in front of our order and they were almost finished but the door dash driver still had to pick them up. Since when did Papa John’s stop delivering? At 12:00 still no pizzas and our owners wife went to pick up pizzas. Apparently the door dash driver never showed up. Papa Johns should most definitely have their own drivers especially in a college town. This isn’t the first time this had happened.
Brittney C — Google review
Took me 25 minutes to get there. To pickup pizza. I was told it would be ready 15-20min. Unfortunately for me upon arrival and waiting 10 minutes for someone to come up front to help me. I was told I’m sorry mam but wee just got really big order right after yours. It’s gone to be a little while. He tells me it’ll be another 25-30 min. I preordered over the phone so wouldn’t have to wait. I waited little over an hour not including drive there. There was no apologies here ya go see ya. Top it all off pizza was wrong and didn’t get garlic sauce I paid for. Didn’t bother trying call back for it and o be fixed. Could you imagine the wait, lol?!

Jersey Mike's Subs is a sandwich chain in New Jersey known for its jumbo subs filled with cold cuts and various toppings. This counter-serve restaurant offers fast service, delicious food, and a friendly staff. While some of their subs may be priced on the higher side, it is definitely worth visiting if you have the time. They specialize in made-to-order steak and cheese subs that are highly recommended.
8/28 @ 8pm. Great group of guys working tonight. Was in good spirits and having fun being friendly with customers. Loved stopping by and great food!

I’m typically not a very hard person to please. I don’t expect much especially out of a sandwich shop. However I went to this location today for lunch and spent almost 30 dollars on a poorly made sandwhich. It fell apart as soon as I opened it to eat it and the rest of the experience was just as sub par. All of the tables were dirty and the staff seemed bothered to be there. I won’t be returning

If you want to pay almost $20 for a giant italian to get meat sliced so thin then go here. Really it was thinner than shaved. Not even a whole slice of any of the meats. I would have loved to show the owner and manager to see if they thought this was acceptable. It’s not. I feel you are ripping off your customers. So disappointing.

4x sandwiches and the dude behind the counter remembered all the details. Well done Sir!

Jersey Mike's is no longer a reasonable option for me. It's a really average sub at high prices. I don't know when the prices went up and/or quality stagnates but $11 for a regular size Italian sub is above my threshold of price pain. If Google had a star rating for "Value" I'd give it a 2.

I went yesterday Fri may 16 got a min ham and regular roast beef and gad hair in the lettuce

Wife and I ordered on the app and came 15 minutes later and got the two subs we took home. Sandwiches were absolutely awesome tasting so no issue. Admittedly the store doesn't look super new or even super inviting but, you know, it's a sandwich shop; who cares? Sandwich taste and value was excellent.

Very negative experience, got the wrong food after having to verify our order a second time after initially ordering it and the employee gave us exactly what we said we didn’t have. Left a picture of my receipt and what was gotten. Not too bad but not the food anyone wanted to eat and then the other location on blowing rock road locks doors and has a line out to the street so we didn’t wanna wait 30 minutes for more “okay” food or turn around and head back to this sorry store. Along with all this, the food we got (which we didn’t order) was cold and poorly made

Mistakes happen, how they are rectified makes or breaks an experience. The new AI system messed up my order, missing a “bird dog“ sandwich. The screen did not show my full order, just a price, which is what the AI assistant read back so I had no way of knowing the issue until I got to the window. While explaining to the old lady who took money in the drive-through, she grabbed the bag from me, closed the window, and walked off (not only incredibly rude, but a health code violation to take food back in that had already been handed out as well). When she came back, she said that I had not ordered the second bird dog (Which I had, as they are advertising a 2/$5 dollar special) and that I could pay for a second one if I wanted it. I tried to explain that that would be more expensive since it would be an “à la cart” order instead of the special, Then she again closed the window and walked off without acknowledging that I was even speaking. WILD. She returned with a manager that couldn’t have been over 20 years old who told me AI had not heard me and that I could buy another one if I wanted it… Again, I explained how that would have me paying more than what I ordered, and that since it was an issue on their end, I was hoping they would rectify it. Then, she started to insinuate that It was my fault by asking “did the drive-through not read your order back to you?”. After my wife and I both exclaimed “no”, she seemed baffled and offered no solution. Trying to steer the conversation in a more productive direction, I mentioned that I own two businesses, and understand that mistakes happen and that just throwing the missing sandwich in the bag would make us whole, keep their drive-through line moving, and not generate the negative review you are reading. Apparently, it did not make sense to them to eat the <$1 Food cost to retain a customer, so my wife and I just went on our way since we had kids in the car needing to go down for naps. Absolutely would not recommend eating here. Clearly they don’t care at all about the customer and when we got the fries opened up, not only were they undercooked, but also cold lol. No use trying to get that fixed. All I can do is warn you.
Spencer — Google review
They have implemented a weird and uncalled for "virtual assistant" to replace a person taking orders. It was pretty jarring and repetitive, and overall repulsive. My family does not want to support AI taking jobs for people just for business to make more money, cutting down on operations costs. Good bye Bojangles 😞

We are from out of town but are regularly are in town, just about weekly, and we always eat at this location. We went through the drive thru at 515ish and ordered the 8pc dinner. The total was closed to $30. The chicken was so old and dried out from being under heat lamps, they were out of cold slaw so we got pintos that also had been sitting in warmers, the biscuits just plain ole crumbed in my hand. The young lady at the window handing out our food looked like she was having a bad day, and we were bothering her. I was highly disappointed to say the least.
Gwendolyn S — Google review
We tried to go here a couple of times during vacation. I'm guessing they have staffing issues. It was completely closed one day, and then only the drive-through was open several other days.

I drive a truck. This bojangles is the only place I can park from traffic. There is a bunch of rude, immature young kids that run that place. It takes forever to get served. Than when they serve you they don't greet you or anything. They just stand there and look at you. They over season there fries and the food is pretty much nasty. Most of the time the lobby is close but there is no sign say so, so they just look at you from inside. Only the drive thru is open which I can't go through. This place needs to do better with customer service.

New ai system is annoying and terrible. I asked for a human, no response. There are workers there, I saw three workers. My friend yelled because she thought the ai couldn’t hear her. We pull up to to the window, and the manger yelled at us for yelling, saying he could hear us from his office. If you could hear us from the office why didn’t you get up and take our order when I asked for a human. I’m sorry why are you getting paid then? To sit in your office? I apologized and he continued to berate me like I’m a child. I said sorry already. I’m going to the Bojangles on blowing rock. Yall need to do better sorry not sorry
