Café Husaren, located in the charming Haga district of Gothenburg, is a renowned cream-colored konditori that entices visitors with the aroma of freshly baked goods and coffee. The café offers an array of Swedish confectionery including katalans, drommar biscuits, and kokosboll. However, its specialty is the hagabulle - a dense spiral-shaped bun dusted with pearl sugar.
We had a giant cinnamon bun, shrimp sandwich (rakrora) and tea. I liked them. The price seemed reasonable. You need to ask the cashier if you need to know the price (it's not mentioned near the food). The staff is friendly. It was quite crowded when I went there.

If you find yourself wandering through the charming Haga district in Gothenburg, stopping by Café Husaren is practically mandatory. Known far and wide for its giant cinnamon rolls, this café is as much a local institution as it is a tourist favorite. The moment you approach, you can smell the warm spice of cinnamon and sugar wafting out the door — it’s one of those scents that immediately pulls you in. The café itself has an old-world charm with cozy corners, vintage décor, and bustling energy. It’s always busy, but that’s part of the experience. Locals and visitors alike crowd inside to get a taste of their famous pastries, often taking a seat at the small tables that spill out onto the cobblestone street. We ordered their iconic cinnamon roll, which is genuinely massive — easily shareable between two or three people. The roll is perfectly baked, fluffy yet dense in the best way, with just the right amount of sticky sweetness. Pairing it with a cup of coffee makes for the perfect fika stop. It’s a true slice of Swedish café culture: lingering over pastries, watching the street life unfold, and savoring something made with care. The staff was friendly despite the rush, and everything felt relaxed and genuine. Café Husaren isn’t just about the food — it’s about the atmosphere, the history, and the simple pleasure of slowing down for a moment. Definitely worth the stop, even if just for the cinnamon roll alone.
Jarred F — Google review
Nice place with the biggest cinnamon buns I have ever seen... And eaten. They have other yummy pastries and offer an apple warmer drink that goes well with the cinnamon bun.

🍰☕️ Café Husaren – A Sweet Experience Worth Every Bite! Café Husaren was absolutely worth the visit! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a cozy atmosphere, the warm scent of fresh pastries, and an inviting display that made our eyes sparkle 😍🍞✨ Though we skipped the famous giant cinnamon bun (Hagabullen) this time, we certainly weren’t disappointed! We indulged in the most delicious rhubarb and strawberry pie 🥧🍓, a heavenly Nutella brownie 🍫, a fragrant Amaretto treat 🍥, and a beautifully soft pastry whose name escapes me — but trust me, it was divine 😋💖 (see photo for proof!) 🪑 There’s plenty of comfy indoor seating, while outdoor seating is a bit wobbly but still charming under the Gothenburg sky 🌤️. 🚻 There’s a toilet available, though sadly not wheelchair accessible. ✨ Honestly, we had nothing to complain about — just a lovely little café with tons of character, the kind of place you want to linger and savor every bite. Highly recommended for a cozy break filled with the best pastries in town! Enjoy, and treat yourself! 🎉🍩💛

A must - visit when you’re in Gothenburg! Even though this cafe is in almost every tourist guide for Gothenburg it definitely didn’t disappoint. I had the biggest cinnamon bun, aka Hagabullen, which was full of flavor and worth every bite. The staff is welcoming and the whole place has that authentic Gothenburg feel. I highly recommend it!

Best food ever! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! I only regret we only had one Fika there! The pistachio cake was incredible. Friendly staff and amazing atmosphere! A MUST visit!
Dana S — Google review
The juice was good, so was the chocolate ball. Their traditional Kanelbullar was a bit not tasteful but fluffy. Also there were bees everywhere even inside which was annoying(not the cafes fault tho)
Eirini A — Google review
Huge variety of cakes, biscuits and other pastry. The biggest cinnamon rolls you can get. Prices are a bit high, but that's normal in Haga. I can recommend!

Ahlströms Konditori Platinan is a traditional café in Gothenburg that offers a variety of delectable pastries, including the famous Cortina Cake with marzipan and pistachio. In addition to their sweet treats, they also serve great salads, sandwiches, and light meals. This local hangout attracts a diverse crowd and is considered a true original in Gothenburg. Don't miss out on the delicious buns when you visit this charming establishment.

(Translated by Google) Poor selection and unpleasant staff who were very short in their tone towards the guests. Here they do their part to water down what remains of Ahlström's origins... The cinnamon buns were so dry that I doubt they were today's. Coffee, yes, they didn't bother to fill it up in time either.

Nestled in the heart of Gothenburg, Brogyllen Hamngatan has been a cherished patisserie since its establishment in 1874. This elegant café exudes sophistication, making it an ideal spot for indulging in a luxurious fika experience. With its impressive selection of exquisite pastries—like the beloved princess cake—crafted by skilled pastry chefs, every visit feels like a special occasion.
I went on a mission looking for the dessert called the Princes cake. This dessert is only made in Sweden and does not get exported out. It gets sold out very quickly, so I went to a bunch of different places before this one finally had it. They offered indoor and outdoor seating and they have second floor that overlooks the first floor. They’re not only about desserts. They had sandwiches, fresh breads, and all type of coffees and soft drinks. It was worth finding this place.

Beautiful Swedish coffee shop right at city center. Great for brunch sitting outside under the spring and summer sun. Remember to try the “princess torta”, (princess cake)!
Sofia C — Google review
It's probably the most popular coffee spot in Gothenburg. Not that far from Nord Stan, this place is the perfect spot to escape the crowds. However, this place can get crowded, thanks to its popularity and atmosphere. They have a good breakfast menu, plenty with pastries and good drinks. Cappuccino is good, I like it.
Eldar — Google review
Lovely cafe located in the centre of Gothenburg, even on weekdays it was quite popular among the locals. They have great range of pastries, dessert but also tasty salads and sandwiches. I highly recommend visiting!
Kana — Google review
One of my favorite cafes in the city. They always have a good variety of delicious pastries to choose from and the service is good. Friendly staff and cozy place for fika. Also their cakes are amazing! Highly recommended.
Joy G — Google review
The best place to have a breakfast in the town, high quality ingredients, great variety and chic interior. The only downside is the long queues.
Mert S — Google review
The ambiance is good, the coffee and sweets are good as well but the problem is with the long queue and relaxed staffs. They don’t try to do it faster to avoid wasting time at the queue for their customers.

One of the best cakes and pastries in the town 😋 Especially, the facilitating executive who has been extremely helpful and cooperative in arranging the last minute changes of the bulk order fika 😀 😉

Kafé Magasinet is an industrial-chic eatery that offers a variety of delicious options such as pizzas, salads, bagels, and sandwiches. The cafe is known for serving some of the best coffee in the city along with delightful baked goods in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. With its unique botanical aesthetics and chic decor, it's a popular spot for brunch or casual hangouts with friends.
Perfect place for a late breakfast. My girlfriend had the breakfast package and was more than pleased, and I had the grilled cheese which was excellent. Being from Stockholm, I'm used to everything being incredibly expensive, so with that in mind I was really positively surprised by the prices. This kind of breakfast would run us up a tab of ~500:- normally (Stockholm is crazy), but here it cost us just shy of 230:-. The greenhouse aesthetic is a personal favorite as well, so we had a really good time here.
Kasper N — Google review
I recently had lunch at a charming café with a lovely covered terrace, perfect for enjoying the outdoors while staying sheltered. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, making it a great spot for a midday break. I went for the three-cheese toast, which was absolutely delicious. The cheeses were rich and perfectly melted, paired with a local beer that complemented the dish perfectly. The vibe was relaxed, and the service was quick and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. A great place to recommend for a laid-back lunch!
Dominique — Google review
The most atmospheric & chic eatery in Gothenburg! Loved the fairy lights / boho natural style and made for a perfect evening meal. We opted for the pizzas which were delicious and filling. Great vibes
Heather R — Google review
Kafé Magasinet has a really nice vibe—definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to, not necessarily for the food, but for the ambience and drinks. The space is cozy, stylish, and perfect for hanging out with friends or just relaxing. The food is okay, but nothing special. I tried a few desserts and the coffee, and honestly, they didn’t stand out—pretty average overall. Still, the atmosphere and drink options make it worth visiting, especially if you’re more into the experience than just what’s on the plate.
Mritunjay K — Google review
A cool and cozy cafe located is the most happening area of Gothenburg. The vibe is chill and the staff are friendly. The place gets crowded on the weekend nights but otherwise its a great spot for brunch/ lunch or even early dinner.
Deepika R — Google review
Terrible attitude from waiters and staff. Pizza probably the worst ever tried. Didn’t finish it. Most rubber ish cheese and dough. This can only be a tourist trap that don’t bother make good (decent) service or food. Birds everywhere inside is cute but not really as they shat on a costumer with her laptop..
Jasmin M — Google review
We went there for drinks, and were extremely disappointed from the espresso martini, it tasted like a mixture of old coffee and cheap vodka. However, the atmosphere in general was pretty nice with all the plants, so will definitely go back for food.
Manya G — Google review
A very nice café with an amazing atmosphere. There are plenty of places to sit, making it versatile depending on your needs. The food is simple but delicious, and you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner there. The best part is that they offer Wi-Fi, which is rare to find in cafés in Gothenburg.

Gorgeous place with lovely food (pricey but beautiful view). Very child friendly too Strongly recommended

Do not recommend. Could not even make a shrimp sandwich for my kid. Had to buy one for adults. Expensive and nothing special. It’s just that they got a good location. The cashier was not polite. Service personnel who took care of the guest outside were very sweet and kind. To use the toilet you need to buy something first. I had to run outside with my 2 year old to find a place for him so he can do his needs. No child perspective here. I’m getting mad while I’m writing this and regretting so badly that we went there. You do best by staying away from this place!
Haroon L — Google review
It is a good place where is full of flowers. The serve here is good and the food is very fresh.
Yu F — Google review
There is a sign at the cash desk that strollers are not allowed in the dining room and on the terrace. Only with small children. Unfortunately, my 3rd son and I were tourists in the city, we walked 10 km and unfortunately we were with a stroller. So we left kassa and went in from the terrace. I had a tray, water on it, cake, a child, a stroller and an umbrella in my hands. It was raining and I couldn't leave the stroller in the parking lot without a canopy. I just sat the child down and put the tray with the spilled water on the cake on the table. The thought for the next seconds was where to put the stroller and of course what to do with the water on the cake. At the cash desk strange man in a cap stood and watched me suffer and as soon as my son sat down and I put the tray on the table, he came up and rudely made a remarks that strollers are not allowed. I didn’t even have time to put the stroller in the stroller parking lot! Do you think I go around your cafe, following your rules, to put the stroller at the table on the terrace? I think it was the owner everyone is talking about!!! Now I understand my friend’s advice not to go to this cafe. Thanks to the cafe workers, the girls at the checkout and the men in black aprons in the hall, you were very nice and kind!
Elmira L — Google review
I had a tasty pie and salad. Plenty of outdoor seating on the lovely sunny day when I was there. At times the queue to order was very long as it was extremely busy.

Literally the worst food, the worst restaurant and the most expensive bad food I have eaten in 35 years of my life. How does the Gothenburg Kommun allow that is such beautiful garden these is this restaurant ? It’s an offense to nature and to Swedish culture

Cafe
Le Petite Café is a quaint, vintage-feeling cafe in the heart of Haga. The decor is dotted with colourful wallpaper and antique objects, and the cafe is popular for its intimate atmosphere and delicious fika. On weekends they serve a brunch buffet that includes waffles, scones and yoghurt, while during the week they have a great selection of extravagant fika.
After walking around Haga, we came across this great cafe. I think the big advantage of the cafe is that it is located at the end of the pedestrian street, at least it was very quiet when we were there on Saturday morning. They had an good amount of baked goods, and our choice fell on a "kladdkaka with meringue", incredibly good. There was a quiet atmosphere in the place and it was good to relax here with coffee and tea. And I also have to comment on the great ceiling too, nice feature.
Vetle H — Google review
The atmosphere is definitely the best that I can say about this place. It is small and cosy and definitely a bit of a French style. However, the prices are extremely high. In my opinion l, coffee is quite expensive, even sodas, but they taste good. The place becomes quite crowded and can take some time to order - the reason for this is, in my opinion, only one person works behind the till. All in all, it's a cosy and suitable place if you don't mind high prices.
Eldar — Google review
Very cozy atmosphere. Only had a pain au chocolat, but that was tasty. They had a lot of delicious-looking food and pasteries. Coffee wasn’t out of this world, but it was ok. Definitely would visit this spot again.
Kyrre R — Google review
Not a good experience from the staff! Go somewhere else instead! (From my experience!!!) Both the bread and the cinnamon bun was dry too (sad!)
Lojjs W — Google review
The warm chocolate was basically warm milk. I needed to ask for reheating my warm chocolate. The cookie and croissant didn't feel fresh and the person taking the order was just not helpful at all. This place used to be something different and close to my heart, full of coziness and warmth. But seems like things change.

Best blueberry scones I had in a while, delicious jam, nice coffee, polite staff. Great breakfast place, definitely worth a visit!

A homey cafe in Haga with warm service and filling breakfast. Went here twice during our trip. Sandwiches were filling for their price. Pastry is good and our favorite is the pain au chocolat - good texture and the chocolate used is good. Very cozy spot in the morning and seems to be buzzing in the afternoon.

Nestled by the picturesque harbour entrance at Stenpiren, Mr Cake is a must-visit for breakfast enthusiasts and dessert lovers alike. This charming café beautifully marries American bakery delights with traditional Swedish Fika, offering an array of sweet treats that promise to tantalize your taste buds. One of their standout offerings is the unique combination of cinnamon buns and semla, alongside the increasingly popular danish pastry paired with semla—both are visually stunning and delicious.
I stopped by to purchase a cake to take home on my return flight, having previously enjoyed delicious cakes and pastries at a MR CAKE Nordstan outlet. The service was excellent—friendly, efficient, and thoughtful. The staff asked about my flight duration and provided clear instructions on how to store the cake properly to prevent deformation, as it was meant to be a gift. The cakes were carefully packed in a sturdy box, with each piece secured inside. I also received a beautifully branded paper bag for easy carrying—a great touch! Overall, an outstanding experience with warm, welcoming service. My only regret was not having enough time to sit in and enjoy more of their treats. P.S. MR CAKE, bring your cakes to England!

This is one of my favourite chains in Sweden. Was trying first time in Gothenburg and the got impressed by the service, everyone was super nice and lovely. Pastries were great as always, this time we tried the cinnamon roll (it was average, quite sweet) and the strawberry cheesecake croissant (if I’m not mistaken) was DELICIOUS! The only concern is the general cleanliness of the place, but not horrible.

I had a truly lovely experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was fantastic in their spacious setting. I made a slight error with my order, confusing MOZZARELLA with MORTADELLA, but the staff handled it with complete professionalism and understanding. They graciously accommodated the situation and provided me with a “mozzarella” order instead a “mortadella”. The coffee was excellent, as were the breakfast croissant and matcha 🔥. I would definitely recommend this place! ✔️ Pick your coffee, grab a bite, chill, they have you covered. 🎖🎖

The good bakery. The chocolate passion fruit cake is fantastic! We also have such fresh good räkmacka, the bread is warm and soft. The freshness and flavor are perfect! Highly recommended this place!!

Very sweet staff. Got my avocado sandwich with glutenfree bread. They were well educated about allergies. Really cool interior and a nice place to sit and enjoy brunch.

The top coffee shop in the city! Never disappointed with bakery or drinks. And my dog also loves going there as it’s pet friendly 🐾
O V — Google review
meeh. Maybe too high expectations, but it was a bit of US-food effect: cakes looked absolutely fantastic, but taste was just artificial, creamy-fatty and not at all like a proper CAKE. Not even the kids finished their pieces (never saw that before, haha). Sorry, but we won't come back. Nestled in the heart of Gothenburg, Steinbrenner & Nyberg is a charming café that beckons travelers with its inviting atmosphere and delectable offerings. Just a stone's throw from the train station and Nordstan shopping center, this cozy spot is perfect for a quick bite or leisurely break. The café prides itself on high-quality bread and an array of mouthwatering pastries, with their carrot cake often hailed as a must-try for dessert lovers.
Came here and tried the soup and cake buffet and loved everything! The shrimp and salmon soup was super tasty and the cakes were a delight! Love the interior and ambience! Would definitely come back again!

Wow, sitting here after my soup and cake endeavor. It was an exquisite experience. Lovely saffron flavour and whole shrimp , some fish and perfectly cut potatoes in the soup. After I tried almost all the cakes (sorry chocolate and rum) and they were surprisingly good. I must say the nougat comes first and blackberry takes seconds. I had a lovely date with myself here on a Sunday. You should also. Btw the young woman working there was beyond helpful. Probably the most service minded person I’ve met on this trip back to Sweden, been here 2,5 months! I will miss places like this in Australia, and the price is extraordinary for the value! Much love

Odd setup where the trays weren’t immediately available when entering the premises but rather on the opposite side, furthest away from the entrance. Solid selection though, albeit pricey. Attentive staff. Cozy atmosphere, and the ambient music were set to just the right level to effortlessly have conversations. Offers takeaway.

Incredible coffee shop in the heart of downtown. The inside of the cafe is genuinely beautiful - lots of open seating, natural light, and a realistic olive tree! The shop allows customers to grab their own choice of baked goods and then bring them up to the counter to pay. They also have delicious coffee - I had an iced americano and it was super tasty!

Avacado toast is so delicious, and I am frequent at their chocolate corner, so many tasty options. But what makes this place special for me is not only the food but also the art nouveau inspired decoration, so beautiful 😍 I typically have a seat in a corner that I can enjoy the beauty while drinking my tea.

One of my favorite place in Göteborg 😍😍 Their desserts are so delicious and you will not regret going there.

Large variety of fancy pastries which you don’t usually find elsewhere. It has lots of indoor seating places, vintage decoration, and friendly staff. It’s also a bit of a self-serve approach, which makes it a bit easier to shop around rather than standing in line. Like most cafes they have free tap water too

Great place for lunch and the lunch cost 114krs. I have tired the lax (Salmon) Soup which was really good. And they have a cake buffet, where they had the variety of cakes to taste. And finally with a nice coffee.

Nestled in the charming district of Linnestaden, Alvar & Ivar Surdegsbageri has become a beloved staple for locals over its ten years of operation on Kastellgatan. This quaint bakery specializes in sourdough bread, which is undoubtedly their crowning glory. However, it doesn't stop there; visitors can also indulge in an array of delightful pastries, cookies, and cakes that are crafted with care using organic ingredients.
Cozy bakery with high quality bread and pastry. We had Jean-paul bread with butter and bjornbars-bulle with coffee there. The staff were nice and helpful.

A lovely sourdough bakery in the heart of town. The queue in the morning already gives it away: a great place to pick up your breads and buns for the weekend. The space is tiny and you might be a bit overwhelmed by the rich offer of products. You’ll find a wide selection of breads, but also some buns and sandwiches. A fridge also offers essentials for everyday, but also juices and more. I enjoyed a few good buns and a nice fresh Dinkel Loaf. Also the sandwich with butter, cheese and cucumbers was convincingly good. Please continue what you do. It feels good and authentic.
Raphael B — Google review
The fruity & nuts mini bread & sour dough are really really really delicious !! 😋 don’t try to taste it, seriously, otherwise, you might keep thinking of their breads later on and, want to eat Alvar & Ivar’s sour dough breads every single day, yes, literally it is THIS good !😄❤️ This bakery is truly the very top thing I would miss this city time to time! Good job 👏 🥰

visited this bakery twice whilst I was in town only for less than a week! Got attracted by the lovely smell and the warmth from the bread and the people inside during the typical cold and wet weather in Gothenburg. The sourdough and little cookies were both delicious, highly recommended!

I had a cinnamon bun & 1/4 of a loaf of sourdough bread (Jean-Paul?). Both were fluffy & super delicious. I’ll be back to try the cardamom bun 😊

Amazingly good bread!!! I tried 3 different so far and they were all incredibly good. I am German and we are really picky with our bread, but this one is exactly what good bread should be like! Totally recommend this bakery!!! 😍

If you're in Gothenburg, a visit to Cum Pane is an absolute must! This charming organic eco bakery, located in the neighborhoods of Majorna and Olskroken, offers a delightful escape from the bustling city center. Known for its mouthwatering cinnamon and cardamom buns as well as rustic sourdough bread, Cum Pane invites you to indulge in a cozy fika experience at their single table while watching bakers craft delicious treats behind the scenes.
Obvious to anyone that comes here is the high quality of the bake work. Decent selection of bread and buns. We ate two types of similar buns and they were soft, flavourful and not overly sweet. Friendly personal, clean environment and with enough comfortable space for 10 people inside, and also some outside seating. Dog friendly! They also sell honey here by the way.
Keith B — Google review
Simply the best pastries I’ve ever had, to the extent that I’m tempted to go back to Gothenburg just to visit Cum Pane!
Charlie B — Google review
This place probably offers some the most rustic, tasty and dare I say innovative baguettes, rolls and breads in the erea. To be perfectly honest, I have not tasted all the breads in all to stores/bakeries in the erea, but I have eaten a lot of bread... I do love bread l, and I am pretty sure I have tasted at least one type of roll from each of the nearby stores. The selection varies from day to day, season to season. Keeping it interesting. This place also offers frozen breads at a reduced price as a good way to limit unnecessary waste. Though the price is slightly higher than in the other bakeries/stores. It is well worth it as there is a noticeable difference in quality and flavor. However! They do not have bagels and focus a lot on saffron during December, so much that they seem to forget the much more tasty cardamom... Who is more present from January to November.
S — Google review
We visited this café after hearing good things about their pastries, especially the cardamom bun. The space itself is really charming—clean, cozy, and inviting—and the staff were warm and welcoming, which made for a pleasant first impression. Unfortunately, the cardamom bun we picked up to go didn’t quite live up to the expectations. It was surprisingly dry and lacked the aromatic cardamom flavor we were hoping for. Given the buzz around the place, we were expecting a bit more from the pastry. That said, the overall atmosphere and service were great, and it’s possible we just caught the bun on an off day.

A cute little bakery. Everything is eko what is great. Bread was delicious and baked perfect. Also served cakes and biscuits (also homemade) There light lunch offering of Cheese sandwich was simple yet tasty, with a beautiful vanilla and pear jam.(you can buy this also) Only one table inside and suprisingly few outside table given the space. But is much more of a place to buy for home. Wish I had this bakery close to where I live!

Smaller menu but still lots of options, has kids menu, from ordering to ready for pickup was really fast. The chicken breast to my ceasar sallad was as big as my friends burger!! Beautifully cooked, not dry or any weird gooey parts, as a person who has a hard time with chicken it is probably one of the best prepared chicken dishes I’ve tasted!! Nice place to study too, lots of places to charge electronics, lots of light!

Been here a couple of times, I always find the food just alright, homely and cozy. But the great advantage is that there are so many lactose free options. Also great with the sugar free smoothies. This is also one the last places to work in peace at a cafe, the atmosphere is cozy and you’ll find plenty of other people working too.

A very nice place to linger and watch the hustle and bustle of the city. We took a break there while exploring the city. They serve Berliner Kindl (beer from my hometown), which is why we wanted to take a break there. Unfortunately, there are no English translations, so we had to guess. The Pizza Diavola I had there was really good, though.

Very cozy atmosphere! Ordered shrimp pizza & salmon pasta! Pizza: cold and hard and left me disappointed Pasta: delicious, but portions could be better.

The food was amazing. The staff are alright, and the menu has lots of things to choose from. Walls are nice with cool pictures. However the floor is starting to rot up a bit, and the tables are constantly messy and have bits of food on them. Might be just bad timing tho. To add, the tables and chairs are not new, you can say. But after all, the vibe is pretty nice.

Walked past looking for a cafe that was open on Sunday morning. Great little place. We had coffee, cinnamon bun & cardamom bun. Our server was friendly and the atmosphere very cosy. Recommend if you’re looking for a light bite although they have more substantial options if preferred.

THIS IS UTTERLY DISGUSTING. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOUR SEARCHING FOR BAD FOOD. IT WAS SO BAD THAT IT TRIGGERED MY GAG REFLEXES, RIGHT AFTER I WAS FORCED TO EAT SO I DIDNT SEEM LIKE A PSYCHO, I WENT TO THE NEAREST TRASH BIN AND THREW UP. AND ALSO, IT WAS S U P E R EXPENSIVE HERE. LIKE, 5 DOLLARS FOR A FREAKIN’ PEPSI?! WHAT?! AND THE SANDWICHES HERE ARE SUPER OVERPRICED. I NEEDED TO PAY 50$ ( about 500kr ) FOR ONLY ONE SANDWICH AND A PEPSI. THE WORST CAFE I’VE EVER BEEN TO.

Gluten-free ciabatta. We ordered glutenfree «Kyckling & mozarella», and glutenfree «italiano». Unfortunately it didnt have so much taste, especially not the «örtaioli». The staff was really nice tho, but the food wasn’t that tasty.

Spacious locale, classic furniture, vintage wooden floor and stone floor. Big livings plants. We had delicious coffee, mocca and espresso, and the Swedish pre-lent buns (fastelavensboller) was the best we had, ever. Not too many people. Unlike other cafes in town, you can breathe lighter here. Thanks a lot!🫶🏻❤️
Christian B — Google review
I’ve been there many times but it’s really frustrating that it’s always so messy and dirty everywhere. Toilet paper all over the place and even outside the toilets. Urine all over the toilets and you just get wet. All the dishes and cutlery that just move from one place to another. Just two people working there can’t take care of the whole place. They’re still trying to be happy but they’re obviously not enough. Scrolling through the online reviews I see that there are comments since two months ago that we’ve been promised that they would improve that. Two months later, just a few minutes ago the situation is exactly the same if not worse. Check the photos below and the review with the answer two months ago! Thanks for the service.

The place is cosy but it’s a shame the staff absolutely do not want to work. Everything seems to be an issue, the patio had more dirty tables then clean whilst the staff just stood with their phones behind the counter

Save yourself the bother and go to any other cafe or bakery in the area. First what I liked: The place is decorated very well, they have a patio that get good light. The baked goods, bread, and coffee are tasty. On the other hand, the service is atrocious. The staff always seems stressed, or upset. It takes forever to get your order, regardless if it's a hot dish or just a coffee. They are super disorganized. The hot food is lackluster. Very plain and somewhat bland. I've really wanted to like this place because it's so cute and it's just a fun place to sit but each time the service is consistently bad. The only saving grace is that the bread and coffee is really good and fresh which is why I gave two stars.

Tldr. Amazing, come here. This place showcases modern Gothenburg with an old parisian take on desserts, bread, pastries and coffee. I might question a lot of what I do, but I never question why I come here. It's just really good. You should come here. The café environment is clean, spacious, and has some interesting pieces on the walls to admire. The service was engaged and helpful. It's pricey but it's on par with everything that should be in moderation, such as bakery produce, even if the produce is really excellent.

Tried: Semla, Shrimp sandwich. Been sampling semlas at different bakeries throughout Feb and March, and this was a true disappointment. Dry bun, very little almond paste and tasted like they mixed the cream with water. Had their semla previous years and it was better. The shrimp sandwich had a very hard rye bread bottom, and was l small for the 170 kr or so that I paid. A plus for that the amount of shrimp was quite generous for the size.

Just off the E20, this bakery offers some really good kardemum buns with lots of flavor and a home baked feel to them. Both the vegan and the non vegan buns are lovely. The rasbarry mazarins are well balanced, sweet sour, and dare, I say slightly creamy. The chocolate ball actually tasted like chocolate, too. The atmosphere is laid back, old meets new kind of feel to it. Bricks and murals come together... and so on... Look, before anyone gets mad, the food IS amazing. it's worth standing in line for, winning awards. My challenge is that the place has very very low hygiene standards. Food is touched with bare hands all over (not washed between tasks) hair found in food is taken out like that solves the problem, food is stored in open cases and will literally be covered in bees and flies (the shop doors are kept wide open and they are next to a recycling station). The very nice team makes amazing food, but I cannot set foot in a place to eat that makes me wonder if the city even has health inspectors.

As they need to be in a coffee shop 😊 We took: An Americano (50 kr) was good but nothing special, and I found it quite expensive for what it was. A hot chocolate (64 kr), was also nice, but again, not really worth the price. A cinnamon bun (71 kr), that however, was amazing and one of the best I’ve had! It even reminded me of tsoureki, but nothing with Nutella or chocolate. But again, the price was surprisingly high. The sweet pastry dessert was tasty and, in my opinion, the only item that felt fairly priced (46kr) Overall, it’s a nice place to visit maybe once or twice a year, but not somewhere I’d go regularly as a local coffee shop, that it’s like this. Fortunately I do not live in that area because on the other hand it would be a temptation! The prices are simply too high for me to justify buying a coffee and pastry on a regular basis.

One of the best places to have a coffee with delicious cakes and cookies. It's a bakery in Molndal, close to Gothenburg. Very cosy place, with amazing service. Everything is very delicious and freshly baked. I have tried traditional for this period semla, which was delicious. You can have here also breakfast on Saturdays and lunch every week day or simply bread and bunnies. Crowd is mostly locals, so if you want to go where locals go, try out this place. Recommended ♥️

Amazing place! Strongly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy real delicious Swedish fika. A great variety of sandwiches, bakery, great hot chocolate and tasty coffee and tea. A place for a family visit or for someone who wants that little extra from visiting a cafe. A welcoming and friendly staff. And remember to buy a loaf of freshly baked bread here. 5 stars for sure!

Nice cafe with a great variety of cookies, cakes, bread and food items, on the go or to enjoy there. The cafe is spacious and offers room for babu carriages as well as wheel chairs. During the week, you can enjoy a solid soup-lunch menu that includes free coffee and cake. Who wouldn't want that?!

Lasse-Maja is a local favorite for semlor — Scandinavian pancakes made with blueberries, sugar and butter. The bakery has previously won a newspaper's prize for best semla, which resulted in long queues. The buns are baked in a stone oven and are cold-proved, French-style.
We moved to the neighborhood nearly two years ago not expecting to find much this far away from the center. We were completely wrong! The coffee and baked goods are outstanding and the staff is very friendly and encouraging of our beginner-level Swedish. We have come to love this place. :)

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! The cakes were so delicious, especially the princess cake we tried - easily one of the best vegan cakes we have ever tried! The cream was so fluffy and out of this world. The staff was really nice and very helpful. It's a little outside of the city centre but it's totally worth visiting!

Vegan paradise. Order cakes, including custom decorated ones, other bakery and "smörgåstårta", sandwiches etc like any non-vegan and be sure to get 100% vegan and delicious stuff. The small shop/boutique, yes shop rather than a café, even though it can only seat about 6 indoors, it's quite well suited for that as well. Be sure to check out the opening hours though, as those are limited. Everything can be ordered on their website and even home delivered. Great for parties.

The best carrot cake I have ever tasted, vegan and non vegan!!! That cake was really yummy, and I've tried carrot cake all over the world from Australia to uk to america and this is one of the best! We also tried key lime pie, lentil soup and garlic bread, cheese and pesto sandwich, which were all really good. The lady who owns and bakes is really lovely and super friendly! Let’s break this down: -Food/Drinks: At first we oredered two caffe lattes, but after having payed the waiter realized that they didn’t have any left. So, he gave us a free kanelbulle (cinnamon roll) and let us choose between different types of tea. The teas were ok and the kanelbulle was quite good. - Service: The waiter was very kind and helpful. He was very attentive and friendly :) - Atmosphere: It was a cozy cafe, with 4/5 tables (so not very big). Actual rating: 3.5 (but 4 in reviews for the great service!)

The pastry was on another level — I’ve always wanted to try those elevated croissants, and the rhubarb one was absolutely perfect. Can’t wait to have it again! I stayed for a few hours to get some work done, but unfortunately, they don’t offer Wi-Fi. The only downside was the strong food smell during lunchtime, which took away a bit from the cozy atmosphere.

The deco is minimalistic and clean and dogs are more than welcome. Don’t forget to take a look up into the ceiling to see the wavering cottons blowing in the wind. I had a delicate raspberry, chocolate bun and the chicken sandwich. Tasty both of them, but my absolute dreams were the made into perfection ”Drömmar”(read Drewama in Swedish) and sourdough walnut bread as well as a sourdough danish that I bought home. Traditional bakery near the city center with a nice cozy atmosphere. I tried the princess cake, even if all the other pastries looked delicious too. It was not excessively sweet and I loved it. I especially liked the cream, it was perfectly whipped and gave a pleasant freshness to the cake. I also had a caffe latte, for a total of 101sek, which is in line with the prices of the city. Besides, the high quality of the food makes every cent worth it. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

We popped in for lunch one wet and windy Thursday during our holiday in Göteborg. We were shown to our table quickly and the server took our orders (in English and with my limited Swedish). While we waited, there was a free salad bar and coffee. Each day has a special, and on Thursday it was sirloin with potato wedges, broccoli, mushrooms and a peppercorn sauce.
