Any travel guide in Amsterdam will tell you to stop by Winkel for their famous apple pie, and it’s absolutely worth it. I’m not even an apple pie fan, but this one was really, really good. The crust, the filling, everything was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Yes, there’s a long line, but they run the place like a well-oiled machine. The line moves quickly, the pies are constantly coming out fresh, and the drinks are made in no time. If you get lucky and snag a seat outside, you can enjoy your dessert while people watching. Inside seating is nice too, especially by the window, though the space itself isn’t particularly special. Still, it’s a must-try spot in Amsterdam. Definitely worth the stop for a slice of their iconic apple pie.

Great place to taste apple pie… queues can get long but they have outdoor seating too! The slices are quite big so sharing between 2 would work! Highly recommended!

Came because of the hype and a recommendation from a local friend of ours and this place’s apple pie reputation is very well deserved. We came at a good time so we were seated right away (2 people). Service was a bit slow because of the amount of people so it’s understandable. The pie itself was fantastic. No words to describe how good it was, so I rate it 10/10 for ruining apple pies for me because I don’t think I can get it anywhere else that’s this good. The coffee was good as well!

Amsterdam locals make sure you put this shop on your to-do list when in Amsterdam. It’s open until 2am and has amazing apple cake. You MUST get it with whipped cream and a hot drink (Irish coffee or hot chocolate preferred). There’s seating inside with warm cosy seating and a bathroom downstairs. Card and cash accepted. Highly recommend

Very busy, but got a seat outside on a Friday afternoon. The apple pie was delicious- warm & freshly made, and not too sweet or buttery, with the optional added bit of sweetness with the whipped cream. Could've easily eaten another slice! Great spot for people watching as well. Definitely need to hire more staff though - there were only two servers managing everything outside (taking orders, clearing up, delivering the food/drink to both eat-in and takeaway customers). They were calmly efficient, but still clearly overwhelmed from being so understaffed. Overall worth the hype, as it's a fun bustling intersection with an upbeat atmosphere. Don't know if it's legitimately the best apple pie in all of Amsterdam, but it still tastes delicious and the location feels very cozy & communal :)

This is a little gem! We stopped as our eyes caught the glimpse of their window from a cross the street , it was pretty. The shop is small but very clean and presentable, there was a huge variety of fresh creamy cakes, biscuits and chocolates. We decided to get 4 cakes to go and the lady that served us was so kind and packed them so we could enjoy them while walking . This was a treat for our taste buds, so fresh and light, full of flavour. When we go back we will definitely pay another visit and try other treats. This is definitely a place that is worth coming back to and needs to be recommended.

Unchanged since 1928 Patisserie Holtkamp holds a special place in the hearts of locals, the facade at Vijzelgracht 15 providing only a small glimpse of the treasures within its beautiful Art Nouveau interior. A tightly packed space, all four walls filled with delicacies ranging from handmade Chocolates and Cakes to packaged Confections, staff takes an old-time approach to hospitality by greeting each guest with warm smiles before boxing each item carefully. Far more than Pancakes and Syrup Waffles, a Baba in thick Syrup as sweet as it is boozy, fans of Canele will find Holtkamp nearly as good as those in Bordeaux with a generous crunch giving way to mellow Cake with the texture of Custard. Also offering Macarons and Feuilletine, tempting but not enough to replace three Chocolates including one with Honeycomb, Dutch Tompoucen comes highly recommended thanks to all the elements of a Napoleon but more Pastry Cream.

I walked past this pastry shop and got the lemon cake. It’s the best I’ve ever had. The clerk is so friendly and patiently explain each flavor to me. I would love to visit again!

Best apple tart ive had yet, and I've already tried several others in the city! Very friendly staff too. No seating unfortunately, but theres plenty of places to sit and eat across the street with not too much foot traffic around.

Gorgeous bakery, lovely staff, but everything I tried was meh… The photo of the rhubarb crumble shows how much filling there is vs the dough.. madeleines were to big and fluffy, tasted like muffins, the sardine breads was lackluster and the puffy dough had no character or taste, the teeny baguette was alright.. It’s ok but (a) I wouldn’t travel across Amsterdam for this, and (b) I won’t return

Le Fournil is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves real French bread and pastries. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the wonderful smell of freshly baked baguettes, croissants, and other traditional treats. Everything is made authentically, and you can really taste the difference in quality. Their croissants are perfectly buttery and light, exactly how they should be. The pains au chocolat are consistently excellent too—crispy on the outside and rich on the inside. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. In short: a little piece of France that you’ll want to keep coming back to.

On our last day in Amsterdam, I stopped by this bakery after reading the great reviews online — and it truly lived up to the praise! There was still a good selection at 5.30pm, maybe because of the poor weather. I was happy to pick up croissants (€2), a whole apple tart (€15), financiers, canelés, and a rhubarb tart. Everything was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and packed everything up nicely. Highly recommended!!

I’ve got Cigalou (with olives and sun-dried tomatoes) and financier today. Both were extremely tasty, cigalou is very soft, but still flavorful and yummy. However, i came for croissants and it’s not nice at all to have them out of stock at 15:55, when it’s french bakery and it’s open till 19:00. And service must definitely be improved, it was noisy and crowded in store, so i can barely hear and the guy at the counter served me with a bit of sarcasm and reluctance, which wasn’t really nice

Loved the Pavlova. It was fluffy, light, and there was no eggy taste/smell. Be prepared for a long wait tho!

THE best bakery in all of the Netherlands in my opinion. Freshest, fluffiest, most delicious pastry. Brioche buns they have are phenomenal, and their rhubarb crumble is excellent.

It is always a pleasure to visit De Drie Graefjes. The service is constantly great and there is a tempting selection of cakes on display. Their red velvet and mash-up cake are really tasty and firm favorites of mine. The generous slices of cake are a real bonus and make it feel well worth the price.

I had a lovely experience at De Drie Graefjes. I stopped in for a drink and a slice of red velvet cake and it was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. I felt comfortable right away. It really felt like a little oasis in the middle of the busy city. The cake slices are large and incredibly delicious and the coffee is strong and well-made. I even took a slice home because it was so good! There are plenty of cozy seating areas upstairs and the free Wi-Fi makes it an easy place to relax for a while. A very charming café. I’ll definitely come back.

I usually come here for the cakes, but this time I decided to try something different and have a meal instead. Unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. I ordered the avocado toast – something I often enjoy elsewhere – but what I got was literally just dry toast with a blob of avocado slapped on top. No seasoning, no flair, just… bland. Tried to save it with some salt & peper, but no. It came with some uninspired nacho chips on the side as well, which didn’t help much either. I ended up sending it back. Apparently, you can add extra toppings (for an extra charge), but honestly, the basic version should still be decent enough to serve. There were a few other small things too, but I think this review is already long enough. Next time, I’ll happily stick to the cakes

Placed an order for my 30th bday and paid extra for the writing of “Fabulous 30”. I think the picture I uploaded says enough about the quality and the decor of the cake.. My 5 year old niece would have written it better and at least centered. 71 euros down the drain🙃

Great overall experience here at “The Three Graefjes” at the Rokin. The crew is friendly, welcoming and proactive. I was here on a Tuesday afternoon around 2PM and it was not busy at that time. The interior feels modern, with a vintage vibe. It’s clean and tidy. I wanted to try their red velvet cake, and I have to say… it was definitely tasty, not too moist, not too dry and most importantly not overly sweet! Make sure to leave some room, because the cake itself is quite heavy! If you order a drink, I recommend to order it without a lot of sugar added to it. Since the cake itself is sweet enough. Definitely recommended to try some of their delicious cakes!

Open early on Sundays- worth getting up for! Excellent varied menu. We had florentine and BR special. Both very well executed. Super garlicky spinach and yummy think bread. Friendly efficient service.

Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor, presentation, and overall quality — which was very unexpected. The bread was cut too thick and had no taste, it wasn’t toasted or spread with butter. Adding simple touches such as garlic butter, cheese sauce, or other flavor elements could make a big difference. All three dishes we ordered were completely bland. These days, it’s easy to find inspiration online for improving flavor and presentation, and I believe there is definitely room for improvement.

We had a tasty brunch here on a Sunday morning. My only wish was that the wait list system worked because I tried to join the wait list as we were walking there and it wasn't working... Of course we arrived and the place was full so we could only add ourselves once we got there. This meant that we could only get bar seats which was a bit tight for space. Aside from the seating situation the food itself was great. We got the Navajo Eggs and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were delicious and had a good balance of fresh ingredients with savoury elements.

Great breakfast and healthy options 🌸 We got early breakfast here. We ordered the B&R breakfast with side eggs and avocado with coffee and matcha. Everything is delicious and fresh, especially the pancakes. The portion sizes are good. Coffee and matcha latte was also good. Quick and friendly service. Highly reccomend and would visit again =)

I ordered the B&R Special with extra avocado instead of bacon. The eggs and bread were delicious, and the butter elevated the whole dish. The orange juice was fresh, but the pancakes were underwhelming compared to the rest. Nice atmosphere and excellent service, overall, a solid 5 stars despite the pancakes.

Great place for breakfast/ brunch. Very popular in general although we didn’t have to wait when we went there. I imagine weekends is very busy. The food was delicious. Good service too.

The products are not best but they are fresh. Focaccias and pizzas were delicious but we didn’t like the cookies and cinnamon bun. The tables are very dirty I think no one cleans or wipes them. We struggled to sit at a table and eventually we cleaned our own table.

I had them for breakfast. Their bakeries are excellent. They have lots of vegetarian and cheese stuff, so it's good for halal too. They have tea, hot coffee, and iced coffee. The coffee wasn't great. I got a flat white, and the beans tasted old and bitter. They have a big indoor seating area. They always have a queue, but they are fast. The staff are friendly. I would recommend basil tomato toast, butter sandwich, and cheese sandwich.

Had a really nice breakfast at this wonderful bakery. Everything is fresh and baked on-site. The space is large, the service is friendly and efficient, and the pastries are excellent. The cinnamon bun was a bit dry and lacked a strong cinnamon flavor, but the pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins were absolutely delicious. The cappuccino and the espresso were also very good. I’d definitely recommend this place!

A great place for breakfast if you happen to be in the area. There's a huge variety of confections, most of which are great.. there's very decent coffee as well, so that is icing on the cake (pun intended!). You order the food and then take it to your table .. you have to go and pick up your coffee too which works fine.. the seating area is spacious and has the nouveau 'industrial vibe', which is cosy and welcoming. The freshly pressed orange juice is great as well... Recommended!

One of the best cafes I've been in Amsterdam. The sandwiches, especially the PLT, were fantastic and the Italian carrot cake is one of the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely come back someday for the afternoon tea.

Absolutely fantastic service, the chai latte was incredible and the chocolate cake was to die for. My sister had the apple and almond cake and really enjoyed hers as well. We visited after a walk through the park from Molenwerf and it was just wonderful. Definitely would visit Amsterdam again just to have their latte and cake again.

The coffee and food was nice, but maybe the day we were there one of employees had a bad day… It made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. Our server was cold and not smiling, When I tried to start a small talk (think of conversations like where are from, how long do you live in Amsterdam etc (I am not Dutch myself)) it only made it worse. I worked with customers myself, so I used to smile to everyone and having a small conversation. For the rest is cozy cafe with delicious vegan food but I am afraid I won’t be willing to come back, which is the shame…

Super cute place, friendly staff and the best vegan spinach quiche I ever had. The vegan passion fruit cheesecake was also a dream, super creamy and not too sweet. Super recommend!

Never really been sold on vegan pastries, but this place got closer than I expected. Stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday morning. Came about an hour after opening and luckily didn’t hit a line. The shop itself was tiny (3 cramped tables), and I only grabbed a seat because a kind stranger offered to give his up. There’s a bigger deli with proper seating across the canal, but the pastry selection wasn’t the same. Pistachio Raisin Cruffin – Supposedly their pistachio cruffin is the signature, but on my visit it came in this pistachio-raisin detour. The interior was plush and moist. But as some locals pointed out, they no longer use pistachio cream, so pistachio barely whispered through. More like a dressed-up raisin bread than the nutty pastry I had in mind. Pain au Chocolat Hazelnut – Don’t see a lot of twists on pain au chocolat even in trendy bakeries, but this worked. Lamination was on point, crisp outside and structured inside, and instead of the usual baton of chocolate, it came with a hazelnut mousse filling and almond chunks on top. Missing that buttery perfume of a true viennoiserie, of course, but still satisfying. The mousse ran a tad mild at first, but hidden bits of chocolate inside pulled it back nicely. Salted Pistachio Cream Latte – Clearly targeted for American tourists (and judging by the crowd, it seemed to be working). The latte itself was a bit flat though. Much like their cruffin, the pistachio cream was too faint.

I would say this bakery is a must visit for ANYONE - but particularly if you're a vegan. There's a different variety of pastries available every day and every one I tasted was crispy and flaky, with incredible flavour combinations. I ended up coming back a second time because it was too good! (Only con is very limited seating indoors, although you can get a drink at the pub opposite where there's more seating.)

This is a pastry shop with very limited seating. You’ll have to wait in line a bit, and they only serve croissants and coffee. It was good—not a “5-star amazing” experience, but an ordinary, nice taste. Instead of the classic, it might be better to try the pistachio or almond ones, at least you really get the flavor. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop, but it’s not a “wow” kind of place.

A vegan bakery gem for pistachio lovers Saint-Jean is an incredible vegan bakery. I tried the pistachio cruffin, and as a true pistachio fan, I can honestly say it had the best pistachio filling I’ve ever tasted. The filling was rich, full of flavor, and there was plenty of it — no stingy portions here! The dough was just as impressive: perfectly baked, soft yet flaky. A must-visit spot if you love pastries, vegan or not.

Fortunately, I went at a time when there was hardly any queue. The pistachio cruffin was definitely a highlight—flaky, crunchy, creamy and nutty. On the other hand, the yogurt berry toast was disappointing, The toast itself was quite dry, and the combination with the yogurt icing felt mismatched—the textures clashed, and the flavors didn’t come together as well as I’d hoped. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the visit.

Amazing bakery - we had the Palestinian savory danish and the ham & cheese croissant and it was absolutely delicious. We will be dreaming of the croissant tonight - it tasted exactly how it looked: flaky but not crumbly, buttery, flavorful. The matcha was perfect too. Would be nice if there more possibilities to sit, as there are just a few benches inside and outside - but if kept in mind it is totally fine. We will be back soon! It’s a must try for vegans and non-vegans 💚

Dairy allergy safe ✅!!! All vegan bakery. I've been to quite a lot of vegan bakeries at this point, and I'd honestly say the pistachio rose danish here was the best pastry I've ever had. I also got the cheese croissant which was also amazing. I went with my friend two days in a row on our trip because it was that good (and got the pistachio one both days). I'm deathly allergic to dairy so it's always a really nice treat when I can eat at 100% vegan places without my normal allergy anxiety!! But my friend who isn't vegan loved it just as much. The lattes were great as well. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!

This place is just phenomenal when it comes to 🥯 I just had the most delicious Palestinian pastry with cheese and herbs ! So so aromatic and delicious! Also I had to try their apple saluted caramel danish and was fire 🔥! Highly recommended when in Amsterdam !

Really nice vegan bakery, small variety but they all looked delicious. We had I think 6 different ones which as vegans we can't find in many places, like the croissants. I would have preferred if the cheese croissant had a little more filling, and the same with the pain au chocolat. They were all delicious though, and really reasonable prices. It didn't have many places to sit just two seats outside and one on the inside, so it's more a to go place. Would totally recommend!!

Came here and tried the bread pudding which was unfortunately a poor choice. It was just a block of bland stodge! It really had no flavour at all, including the icing on top, which is a shame because I loveee a bread pudding. Maybe a poor pick from our part, hence why I’ve only ducted one star.. All the other pastries looked delightful, service was efficient and the place has a real buzz to it. I’ll be back, just not for the bread pudding 🥲

Omg,the staff were so friendly and really took good care of the customers. Sometimes when I go to places, I come across employees who are superficial and not genuinely friendly, but Fort Negen was completely different. Their miso cookie, kaas croissant, and of course their almond chocolate croissant are the best!

4.5/5 The almond croissant has a high butter content, making it crispy and flaky, but the pastry itself is rather flat and the air pockets aren’t very noticeable. There’s a generous amount of almond cream, and it’s not too sweet. I really like it. The cruffin, on the other hand, wasn’t as impressive. The sugar on the outside was a bit too sweet and overpowered the buttery aroma of the pastry, and it wasn’t as crispy as I expected. The filling had more fruit jam than cream.

A very popular local one! Also you can see a long queue in the shop. They offer many options with bread, pastries, ice cream and others. I wanna have a cruffin but they only serve them on weekends. Instead I took a choco almond croissant and kombucha. The croissant is very different from the ones in France, here they are more crispy, and idk if it’s common the one I bought had two layers. The filling is rich, I can taste so many chocolate. I saw a lot of locals they bought 4 or 5 bags, so I think the bread should be good too! Recommend to come and have a try!

Very good bakery with tasty croissants, they also sell bread. The most tasty one was almond-chocolate croissant, the best one i tried so far, i went today to buy one more, but it wasn’t available, and took chocolate one which was also fresh and crispy Cheese croissant and classic ones is also very fresh and tasty, very recommended

Finally I visited this bakery. The place is cute and the service is high. There is a very good choice of sweet baked goods like cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolate, many types of croissants, gluten free brownies and bread ofc. I took an almond croissant which was good, rich but still a bit on the heavy side for me when it comes to butter.. But this is typically dutch,overall was good, just not my taste completely so I will try something different next time. The brownie was delicious, I will take it again for sure. They bake the goods in front of you and you can see the ladies knitting the dough live from the windows shop

This place is insane—in the best way! They have the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had in my life. Everything else I tried was also incredibly good. If you’re anywhere nearby or not nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t regret it!

I still remember the chocolate and pecan praline cream habano and I would go back to Amsterdam just to have it again! So delicious, my God! Even though the size looks like it would be huge, it’s not. It’s super airy and the cream is light, so you can really taste all the flavors—the dough, the crunch, the chocolate, and the cream. We also ordered the croissant and the cinnamon bun, which never disappoint! Definitely some of the best we’ve had in Amsterdam

It was the best croissant I've ever had. The plain and one with chocolate was very good. I haven't tried the others but they are also very good. And the coffee was very good. I would definitely recommend it.

I had an okay experience at Rise Bakery. The pastries looked good, but one was so flaky it broke and fell on the floor, while another I tried was too dry. I ordered the wheel croissant and found it way too sweet for my taste. It was a bit too much for me

I tried the cinnamon roll, spinach and feta pastry, pain au chocolat, kimchi croissant, and salted caramel cruffin. The cruffin was my absolute favorite, followed by the cinnamon roll. The cappuccino was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. This place truly deserves its high rating.

Nice bakery. I ordered a small sourdough, a pain au chocolate and ham/cheese croissant. I liked that they slice your bread for you (not all bakeries do this), which is appreciated. Everything was delicious. There are always lots of people, which is a good sign.

It’s small cute bakery behind Albert Cuypmarkt, but the variety is so huge, i went there this Sunday and it was a bit crowded, but i guess i was waiting just 7-8 minutes. Croissant is huge, fluffy, flavourful, special focaccia with mushrooms, olives and salsiccia was the best, highly recommended! I got sourdough baguette as well - it’s fresh and crispy, but it’s a bit too hard to chew

I bought yesterday a box of 6 cinnamon roll, it looked delicious but unfortunately they all tasted the same. It's very very sweet, full of sugar in the roll and the icing. Even my young daughter that loves sweets couldn't finish half a cinnamon roll. Really disappointing.. 😔

So delicious! Couldn’t believe they were vegan! They are soft but not airy- which makes them so filling and delicious, unlike Cinnabon or American cinnamon rolls I’ve had, that just felt like you ate air a second after, which made it super unsatisfying even while eating, but not like that with these! Some flavors we loved more and some less, but definitely would come again. I loved the original one the best!!

Every now and then I get surprised by a vegan bakery. I've never had a good vegan cinnamon roll before. But leave it to the wonderful bakers at Have a Roll to change my mind. This was a great experience and I loved the rolls we had. The apple pie topping was so unique and delicious. Fantastic cinnamon buns, probably the best in Amsterdam out of all cinnamon rolls i tried. They made it fresh, and nothing can exceed the taste of freshly baked bun in a winter rainy day. Go with the original roll, it’s already so good, if you want something different, I would recommend pistachio or pecan mixed. Besides that i have to give them a credit for a really nice, welcoming service and excellent store design.

Highly recommended! They have multiple choices of cinnamon roll and it tastes really good. Coffee is also good which is an important one next to this dessert. Place is small but you can also enjoy outside if the weather is nice. I got the one with cafe cream and liked it!

I LOVE these cinnamon rolls. Yes, you can skeptical about “vegan cinnamon rolls” but these are the real deal. They have a good variety of flavours and they are too sweet, they are the right amount of sweet and natural. Go to your nearest Have a Roll ASAP!

Super cosy spot in central Amsterdam without being too crowded in the streets surrounding. Clearly a popular spot since it was so crowded inside though! All of the cakes looked delicious (lots of vegan and gluten free options). We went for a savoury treat this time and the portions!! HUGE! Will definitely be back to try the sweets!

This beautiful little bakery makes the most amazing looking and tasting baked good! The owner and her team efficiently handle the store and it's many many walk in customers. And the food is truly heavenly! Every 10 minutes you can watch a new tray of delicious baked goods being taken across from the kitchen to the display window 🙂

A magical place! You’d need to spend a whole week in Amsterdam just to try everything here. The pistachio cream aragostine and the cinnamon buns are an absolute must! Thank you for such a cozy and atmospheric café.

All their products are amazing. You can easily buy the products we tried. The soup of the day was eggplant soup. It may look a bit strange, but it tasted delicious. The service might be a bit slow, but we go there to be calm and relaxed. So it was a very nice experience for us.

AMAZING!! I’m so happy I found this place, we ended up coming back twice! This little place is small on the inside, but they do have an upstairs as well. The windows are lined with fresh pastries and baked goods. Delish!! They have a tiny patio with 3 tables that is right over the canal! Luckily we got to sit there and people watch, while enjoying our breakfast. Coffees were amazing. Baked goods, so fresh and delicious. We ended up eating some sandwich’s as well, tuna melt was excellent. The have homemade jams which we took some home with us! Overall this place was a perfect breakfast/lunch spot

If you’re looking for a refreshing, tasty lunch stop in Amsterdam look no further! We stopped here after a 4 hour countryside tour and we were delighted with our quiche and Dutch cheese sandwich. Service was great as well and prices were reasonable. It was truly just what we needed!

On our final day in our brief stint in Amsterdam we popped in here for breakfast. We passed it a previous day but had just eaten so couldnt go in. When we did it was absolutely worth it. I got the Yogurt Granola breakfast (pictured) and my Girlfriend got the French Breakfast (Not Pictured) and these two comined was the best shared breakfast experience I mightve ever had. Loved being able to exchange pieces and put everything together ourselves, wonderful experience, polite staff, and overall looked very cool. Also the best black coffee I had in the city! fantastic all around! Would highly recommend will definitely go again if the opportunity arises !

During our family trip last week, we visited this bakery twice. Each time, we received exceptionally polite and friendly service, and our children had a wonderful time in the small play area. A really cute local spot! Stumbled across this place which is easily missed. It’s really beautiful inside and there were a good mix of Dutch people eating, which is always a good sign! It made me feel like a local (even just for the hour 😅). They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and sweet options. I had the soup and quiche platter and it was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, tasty and healthy. It was just what I needed! I recommend asking for the daily specials! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I’m just sad that I’m only in Amsterdam for the day as I would happily come back tomorrow. Thank you for the lovely experience!

Highly recommend. I've been here more than once and tried several dishes - the food was always fresh, flavorful and beautifully crafted. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I tried the shakshuka, and it was amazing — adding the spicy sauce gave it a perfect extra flavor. We also tried the flan cake, which was delightful as well. The coffee was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend visiting this place!

Absolutely amazing sourdough, the texture is divine! Very stretchy, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. Highly recommend the za'atar spiced loaf- perfectly balanced between the delicious spice mix without overpowering the subtly flavour of the bread itself, combined with the nuttiness of the sesame seed topping that gives a rich tahini/peanut butter nuttiness :)

Great spot, it’s a bakery and resto. They have great breakfast and lunch options. Since they bake their own breads, croissants, etc they are delicious. We went twice in 3 days. Staff is nice and it can get “busier” but we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for a table.

The food is amazing, no matter what you order they really know how to prepared each dish in a way that you can imagine. You can sit or take away, but if you have the time and there is no line, sit and enjoy this amazing place. If you don’t like spicy, asked for the brioche without kimchi and the mayo in a side, you won’t regret!!!

Good location, good seating, which is rare in the area. The bread was good would’ve loved it if they had some toasted options. The buratta one was very refreshing and light. I was very exited for the chicken but the flavor was a little monotone. It was mainly bbq sauce but not really captivating. The cabbage didn’t really add something. Maybe some pickles would be better idk. Also tried the matcha cookie from the bakery sadly that one was dissapointing. Weird texture and not the cookie u would have in mind. But the place has good options and its clear they put a lot of effort. If they would make some tiny adjustments it would be perfect!

Well hellooooo Breadwinner. Okay, I’m sceptic when it comes to bagels 🥯 outside of the US. We have more bagel places in Amsterdam, but let’s call it what it is, those are just bagel shaped breads okay. I’ve been to all other Amsterdam bagel places once and never visited them again. Now Breadwinner, they surprised me bigly(!) You need to understand my reference when I talk bagels. So I am a fan of (top of mind) Bagelsaurus (MA), Broad Nosh (NY), Sunrise (ME) Tastewise Breadwinner comes close to a US bagel, I’d say they are 90% there. There’s a hint of that malty aroma that you need. Texture wise they are 95% there. It’s dense, and chewy. They also toast great, don’t burn, don’t lose their taste or texture. Yet there is something in there that I can’t put my finger on that is not completely bagel. I’m still trying to uncover what that is. That said, stellar bagel. Price wise a bit steep, €3,- is the price of half a bread. A bagel shouldn’t cost more than 2,- per piece. They don’t sell bakers dozens, you just have to buy them per piece. Never tried one of their bagel sandwiches, if I ever do, I’ll add a review. Want a good bagel? Go to these guys, you wont be disappointed, but bring your wallet. FYI not a sit down kind of place, just a few seats. It’s all made fresh, so there could be a wait. People friendly. Not accessible with wheelchair. English speakers. Go enjoy.

My dry sourdough bagel didn’t quite live up to the hype. I ordered the smoked lox and cream cheese (with added tomato and avocado), which looked amazing but needed more seasoning. The lox portion was generous and really tasty though! We arrived later in the afternoon, so I’d l give it another try in the morning when the bagels may be fresher. The staff were nice, and there are benches outside on a sweet street. Maybe worth a visit earlier in the day?

Delicious bagels, the first ones in Europe that I found to be comparable to the ones in New York. Very much recommend the pastrami and chutney bagels. Their everything seasoning was so good that I bought some immediately.

This is easily the best bagel place in Amsterdam, possibly in all of the Netherlands. The guy who owns it has always been friendly and the staff as well. Easily is a staple for me when I’m back in Amsterdam. Also the pastrami sandwich is (chef’s kiss) great!

I went there specifically for pain suisse and it was a disappointment 😂 I came at around 08:35-08:40 (so right after the opening) and it was already dry and cold. Almost seemed like these were leftovers from yesterday 😅 It was crunchy which was nice but not that wet inside and definitely not a lot of taste. Can’t recommend. On the other hand, I also tried a cookie - it was really good, pretty sweet but not overwhelming. The lady at the counter was very nice though. They didn’t have matcha unfortunately (even though it’s on the menu) but they did have decaf. Coffee was decent. And there is no toilet.

The croissant workshop was really great. Super detailed and informative, with every step clearly explained so you really understand the process. Laura Vervoort is truly inspiring, her passion and energy are contagious. I loved that they use their own recipes, nothing adapted or simplified, which made it feel so authentic. Honestly, it was such a fun and inspiring experience, I can’t recommend it enough.

If you are looking for delicious French pastries in Amsterdam, you're going to have to come to Dapperstraat to taste the delicious creations of Laura! So many different options, with new creations added regularly! The boutique is super cozy, with a lovely bench outside to soak some sun! Don't forget the drinks, they serve some tasty Rum Baba coffee to get you going for the day! Really love the place already 😍

Absolutely perfect baguettes, I’ve never found one I’ve loved this much! Really perfect for grabbing something small and either enjoying it there in the garden or taking away to picnic nearby. Loved the cheese sandwich and definitely would recommend the olive baguette.

Consistently excellent sourdough breads and sweet and savoury bites with no concessions in the quality. Cordial, relaxed and thoughtful service. The batard and the olive bread are favourites, the house butter 5*, variety of ferments and jams. Very good bread flour. Go early on Saturday, they sell out ☺️

I recently started to try some of the bread options here and I have a couple of comments - they expect you to buy the whole bread where other bakeries you can have half or even quarter when the size is too big. Can you just simply cut in two and sell? - the olive baguette was very salty I mentioned when I was buying bread another time but received no reaction I hope they can improve the above items, as I am fond of trying good places selling sourdough bread.

A great food hall with tons of vendors and a huge variety of options! My partner and I split up to order, each finding something we loved quickly and managing to snag a table during a busy Thursday night. Great for meet ups and nights when you don’t want to cook in!

We went here on a Friday around 4pm and it wasn‘t too crowded. We walked around for a good ten minutes just enjoying the atmosphere and looking at all the different food options. I got a poke bowl with vegan salmon which tasted okay and was a little too small for my liking, but the real star of the show were my friend‘s fries which came at a great price and tasted amazing. The portion was huge too, so it was enough to share :) We also tried the cannolis and those were great too.

The food court was okay in the sense that there are many options to choose from. The deep fried fish was quite delicious but the calamari was not. Portion size was small. The lemonade we got from one of the bars there was very fresh and tasty.

A well designed food market with delicious foods and variety of different dishes. The prices are quite high for fully self service, e.g. 8€ for a simple Heineken beer from draft. The sweets (cupcakes) are highly recommended.

We visited over the weekend and there was a DJ playing viral music—it was a really fun atmosphere. Everything is super clean and well-organized. The food selection is excellent, and there’s truly something for everyone. My recommendation is to try one dish from several different stands so you can taste more, because everything is absolutely delicious!

A perfect spot for casual and fun dining. There’s a great variety of options, though I find the food a bit pricey for a “plaza” setting. As for the atmosphere, I would improve the quality of the chairs (they’re uncomfortable) and the acoustics, as it can get quite noisy.

This place was actually quite enjoyable — the taste was definitely not disappointing. Although the queue was a bit long, it added to the anticipation. The dough had a lovely aroma and just the right level of sweetness, not overpowering at all. It’s the kind of treat that feels balanced and well thought out. However, if we’re talking pure value for money, I personally feel that the red-themed shop nearby still wins. That one delivers a more satisfying experience in terms of both flavor and portion size. Still, this spot is worth trying if you’re in the area and don’t mind the wait.

Rudi's was my first experience with fresh stroopwafels and they were delicious! The waffle was thin and crispy and the filling was not overly sweet. I prefered the version without chocolate. I visited the Albert Cuyp Market on a Friday around 11 AM and there was a line for Rudi's but it moved very quickly. Note that the line is mostly uncovered so you'll be exposed to the elements. You can also buy a package of 10 stroopwafels, which makes great gifts. Just make sure if you choose to buy the metal tin for the stroopwafels, you grab a package of stroopwafels as well (otherwise you will have just paid for an empty metal tin).

Tried the original one and it was warm, crispy and delicious. Might be a little too sweet for your taste palette if you’re not a sweet tooth. Great and friendly service! Its a small truck so don’t expect any seating area!

Honestly, delicious. Is it BETTER than other places? As a tourist, it’s hard to know. Still, the food was delicious, affordable and the stall was set up for a crowd so the service was fast and efficient. Worth a visit, but don’t feel bad it you can’t make it or stop somewhere else.

The waffles were very flavorful, with a pleasant cinnamon and caramel aroma. The staff there are fantastic. Be sure to buy their waffle packages so you can enjoy the great taste even after your trip. I’m not a fan of adding unrelated toppings to waffles like many places in Amsterdam, which are often expensive, but here you can find the best classic waffle.

Generous amount of caramel & surprisingly not too sweet- however, it's nothing actually particularly special compared to others in the city, so in my opinion it's not worth waiting in the very long line. It was a long-awaited visit to the original stroopwafel shop! I’ve tried so many versions over the years—even the ones from Costco—and have always been a fan. I even tried the fresh ones from Hans Egstorf once, but honestly didn’t like them (and they charge twice the price of Rudy’s!). We arrived “early,” around 10:50 a.m., before they officially opened, and there were already a few people in line. The father who founded this famous spot was such a gentleman—so kind and warm—and his son, who made my stroopwafels, was funny and just as friendly. We started with one original and one chocolate-dipped stroopwafel, plus a tin of pre-made ones to take home. After trying both, we preferred the original. We walked around a bit, then decided one tin just wasn’t enough (lol), so we went back for another fresh original and another tin to bring home. By then, the line was long, but it moved super fast. I wouldn’t say the fresh ones are necessarily better than the pre-made ones—they’re just different. The fresh ones are warm and crispy, while the pre-made ones are cold and crispy, each with its own charm. With a nice cup of coffee or tea, both are absolutely delicious. All in all, I loved the whole experience and will definitely be back next time I’m in Amsterdam. The price of €3 is very reasonable too! Note to the neighboring vendors: one of you should seriously consider selling good tea, coffee, or hot chocolate to go with Rudy’s stroopwafels instead of those ubiquitous t-shirts! Trust me—you’d do far better business. One needs a drink to go with these stroopwafels… otherwise, you might just choke from all that deliciousness! 😄

I visited a chocolate shop in downtown Amsterdam and had such a great experience. The chocolates were absolutely amazing in taste, and the atmosphere of the shop was warm and inviting. The lady who helped me was so kind and patiently showed me all the different chocolates. A lovely experience highly recommended!

Such a charming place, perfect for cake and a drink. The cakes we had were delicious and the hot chocolate is amazing, you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The ladies who work there are so nice!

I had a really great time there. Even though I was full, I finished everything I ordered. It was not too sweet🥰 So I loved them. Especially the almond bottom part of taart was so nice. This place makes very good Stroopwafels with honey. The poppy seeds dessert, the ginger almonds and the Oliebll were also very good. There is a place to sit inside and coffee is available. The service isn't the friendliest out there especially towards newcomers. Highly recommended nonetheless.

I heard a lot about their Stroopwafel, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. It was way too hard, super crunchy, cold and pretty much tasteless. Definitely not what I was expecting. And for the price? Totally not worth it. I really don’t get the hype. As someone who’s tried pastries all over Asia and Europe, I can confidently say this was one of the most overrated ones I’ve had in my life. I was expecting something maybe a bit softer (?), warmer, or at least flavorful, but instead, it was just a plain, sugary crunch with no real taste. The cappuccino was also pretty cold, which was really disappointing. As someone who has lived in Italy for years, this felt like a huge disappointment to what a proper cappuccino should be. It’s not just about the taste—it’s about the experience, and serving it lukewarm just ruins it. Not trying to be rude, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are way better options out there for pastries or a sweet breakfast, specially if you already have tried good pastries in other European countries or Asia.

Great bakery. Only gripe is how long it took to be served. There ins't really a queue. Its impossible to tell if people are waiting to place their order or if they're waiting for their food. Not much space to sit and eat either. Plus they're super stingy with napkins. Aside from all that, the baked items themselves are delicious. Great stop for quick breakfast and coffee before hitting the museums. I had a quiche, croc monsieur, a lemon tart and coffee and everything was good, ~€20 total, no tables only about 6 seats against the wall.

Super Yummy Croissant! Tasty and crispy crust. I can eat it every day^^ The best thing is they heat up the croissants for us🥰 The raspberry tart is also nice. The walnut tart is good but the shell is a bit on the hard side. Highly recommend! Will definitely go back and try something else tmr🤩

Raspberry muffin was pretty basic (I was told it has raspberry filling but it didnt, maybe staff is misinformed) but the mango cheesecake was super yummy.

The place is nice and has a good atmosphere and vibe, but it’s not very spacious and can get packed and loud quickly. The service is great, you order at the cashier and then they bring your order to the table. I ordered the lemonade and a mushroom tart and I didn’t love them. The lemonade is not fresh from the moment, but rather brought from somewhere else.

What an amazing experience we had at Back to Black! An authentic and cozy place in the heart of the city with a lovely ambience and full of locals! Both coffees were really good and the espresso brownie was simply BREATHTAKING! Best espresso brownie I’ve ever had! The staff was super nice and they also sell some decorations and ornaments in the shop! I’d definitely recommend them if you’re looking for an authentic café experience in Amsterdam! 10/10 Tip: for those looking for a café to take your laptop to and work from there, Back to Black IS NOT your place, since they don’t allow laptops on the counters and tables.

Stopped to have a quick coffee and I’d say that it was delicious. I don’t know which beans they used, but I’m sure that I could smell their strong aroma and that playful taste on the tongue which is a sign of good coffee. Ambience was okay toiletries in the basement not wheelchair accessible perhaps the whole place is not wheelchair accessible. Seating was a bit tight. If you are in the area and want a nice coffee, then it should be on your list and I would say that you will not be disappointed. Overall experience was very good. Definitely five stars.

The apple pie is cool and refreshing, with a soft and delicious apple filling. Unfortunately, the crust gets very sweet towards the end. Although it’s not top tier, it’s still a pretty good apple pie. The dirty chai latte has a strong spicy flavor, which I personally don’t like very much. The atmosphere in the shop is nice, but you can only use a laptop on weekdays.

I had a cortado and it was not only stunning but also completely delicious. I like how I had the option of a single- most places offer a (tight) double shot by default, but as I was already thoroughly caffeinated, a single (at only €3, at least in October 2025) was a perfect compromise. Amazing specialty coffe. Great atmosphere , amazing staff, coffe that week was amazing ( single origin from Columbia). The apple pie was a killing. Hopefully in Amsterdam you walk a lot. So you don't care about calories limit 🥳

This cafe has a very Kinfolk vibe and is very aesthetic. It was a relaxing spot to have an early breakfast on my recent trip to Amsterdam. Coffee excellent, Earl Grey scone palatable, although accompaniments could’ve been tastier to complement better. Atmosphere very quiet and patrons respectful of one another despite close confinement. Staff pleasant enough. Altogether an enjoyable experience and would visit again, primarily to try more of the coffee selection.

The Cottage is a great little spot in Amsterdam if you’re craving proper English pub fare, done just a notch nicer than you might expect. The menu covers all the classics—pies, fish and chips, roasts—comfort food that feels both hearty and well-prepared. The standout for me were the pies, both savory and sweet; definitely save room for a dessert pie. They’ve also got a solid selection of English ales on tap, which makes the whole experience feel even more authentic. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, order a pint, and feel a little transported. One charming detail I loved: the fox behind the bar. It adds a bit of character and whimsy to the cozy pub vibe. All in all, a welcoming spot for comfort food and a pint, with just the right touch of polish. And good for those with home sickness

Came here looking for something different and got what we wanted. Shepherds pie (takes around 20 mins to be served) Scotch egg Scones Pretty tasty stuff, good coffee (stooker), very friendly staff, family owned business. Will also try the other things in the menu. Very happy experience overall.

This place is very popular! It’s always busy, and now I understand why: it’s cozy, the portions are generous, and everything is delicious. They also have great vegetarian and vegan options. The staff was very attentive, and the prices are fair. I will definitely be coming back!

Loved this neighborhood spot while traveling through Amsterdam! Yes they have an English menu. Try to sit outside if you can! The menu is great and great selection of beer. The customer service was superb! Recommend checking out for some good Dutch dishes.

Definitely my go-to brunch place whenever I’m in Amsterdam ! Everything on the menu is delicious, some of my favorites include 'give peas a chance' and the veggie burger. The coffee and cocktails are always great too, highly recommend overall !

Grabbed brunch here with some friends and what a treat this was! The service was friendly, the ambiance inside and outside was great, and the food was delicious (especially the breakfast sandwich). The Bloody Mary was also delicious and spicy. Will definitely be returning!

We had a delicious brunch here on a day where the restaurant was unfortunately understaffed due to unforeseen circumstances. I appreciated their candour about this, and was impressed by the staff’s ability to multitask under such conditions (full house). As always, incredible food with a taste from home for us Aussies, always a great price and friendly service with a smile. Despite the staffing issues we still could not fault the service one bit. A true gem in the neighbourhood, and an awesome dog-friendly option in an area sometimes known for less dog friendly attitudes.

Very nice breakfast - we had the big weekend brekky and eggs benedict with salmon. Coffee was also very nice. *As an Australian couple visiting Amsterdam I can't say the menu was particularly 'Aussie' if I'm honest, but we still very much enjoyed our brunch. Thank you

The Drovers Dog restaurant on Atjehstraat looks very nice inside. Unfortunately, our visit in September was defined by extremely long waiting times. We waited almost an hour for our food, and the drinks were also very slow to arrive. When we asked, we were just told it would be ready soon. It would have been helpful to be informed about the wait time beforehand. Due to the poor organization, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Went here with my sister and had such a great experience. We ordered the Give Peas a Chance, the Breakky Roll and a couple of coffees — everything was fresh, flavourful and perfectly done. The Aussie-style coffee is outstanding (and so hard to find in Amsterdam). Service was warm and attentive, and the whole place has a real community feel. The sunny morning terrace is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the weekend. Dog friendly as well, great for our little chihuahua Sunny - can’t wait to come back!

Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. The waiting time for something as simple as drinks and food was unreasonably long, and it felt like the staff didn’t care about the delay at all. When the order finally arrived, both the drinks and the food were nothing special — especially considering the high price. Definitely not worth it, I won’t be coming back.

Such a nice, tiny place. Many vegan options. We had chocolate cake and cheesecake, both vegan, and both made us seriously doubt whether they are really vegan because of the genuine taste! But that was indeed vegan and so delicious and beautifully presented, portions are really satisfying. Coffee was tasty, too, nice homely, imperfect vibe. Very refreshing. People there really take care of customers :)

Nice tiny place with lovely and kind owner. Lots of vegan options (be sure to ask, not everything is clearly stated as vegan on the menu, there are more options than showed). I tried a sandwich with tofu strips, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese. And had the vegan carrot cake. My mother tried a sandwich with grilled vegetables and a vegan and gluten free orange cake. Everything was really nice and the cake was devine! Will definitely come back here!

My girlfriend is lactose intolerant, vegetarian & is on medication so she really has to be careful what she eats, & so many places insist they are vegan then aren't! This little cafe was absolutely brilliant. The staff were attentive, friendly, helpful & honest. The service was great & the food presentation & quality was of an exceptional standard! We really were impressed, they clearly take great pride in their establishment. The atmosphere was lovely too :) highly recommend it!

Do not eat at this place - they sell moldy food. I went to this place on Thursday 20.6.2019 and bought some pastries to take away for myself and some colleagues. All the pastries tasted stale and not fresh. However, the worst part was that one pastry had actual mold inside. You could not see it from the outside but the whole inside was already green and moldy. Fortunately my colleague only took one bite and hopefully won't get sick. After going back to the bakery the same day and confronting the staff, the waitress was shocked about what I told her. She said that management buys the pastries and she will inform them about it. I demanded to receive a confirmation about this and left my phone number. However, after three days I still did not hear from anybody. I paid 12€ for stale and moldy products and management is apparently not interested in fixing those issues. Do not eat here!

This is a hidden gem for someone who grew up in the city center of Amsterdam. Lovely local owners and good coffee / food. Very flexible and not uptight or like those fast boys and girls who take over the city center right now and take away it's soul and charm. This is still authentic and very much enjoyable!

Hands down the best spot in Amsterdam for a comfy sandwich + coffee + pastries. Slow food. Tiny. Unique flavors in their sandwiches. Seasonal pastries. Super friendly service. We go every weekend and I order their salad during the week whenever I have the chance. Hope you are lucky to get a fresh out of the oven croissant!

Pretty corner pastry and sweets place! I like the atmosphere and the decorations. It’s a very well kept place. They don’t have a toilet unfortunately. Prices are somewhat fair especially given the very central location in Jordaan. I was not super impressed by the chocolate cake, probably it’s not their strength. The sandwiches were good tho. Also the guy at the counter was kind so that was pleasant! Aesthetic wise the place is very pretty.

I had the chicken sandwich here, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked — juicy on the inside with a crispy, flavorful crust. The bread was fresh and soft, and the ingredients were all high quality and well-balanced. Every bite was full of taste! The place itself was cozy and welcoming, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a relaxed meal, it’s definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

I've eaten several cakes here before and all were excellent. This time I had blueberry Macarons, the best sweet things I have ever eaten. Apart from the quality of the food the staff are super super friendly and don't hesitate to make time for you to decide what you want. 10/10

We loved this cafe!! It‘s very small so I don‘t know if you always get a seat but when we were there, there were enough free tables. The interior design is really cute and there was a large selection of food and drinks on the card. The kitchen is right next to the seats so you can see that they cook and make everything fresh. And most importantly, it tasted really good! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and we felt really strengthened and ready for exploring amsterdam.

Love the croissants here! All gluten free so we got a few to try. The ham and cheese is delicious, very smokey meat which we loved. The original is lovely. We also got the almond which was a bit too sweet for our taste. Also tried the stroopwaffle but wasn't keen. Would love to try the bread rolls as they look very yummy. Busy and small so we got it to take away and went to the park. It was already very busy by 10.30am.

Absolutely delicious! This is one of the best croissants I have ever had (even before the celiac diagnosis). Prices are very reasonable and everything I had was incredible— highly recommended the ham and cheese croissant but you really can’t go wrong. Everything being gluten free is a dream come true! Gluten free croissants are near impossible to find, so happy this exists! Totally worth the trip over here if you are in Amsterdam and are celiac!

This was the best croissant I have ever eaten! And I couldn’t believe it was gluten free! When I took my first bite of the croissant, it was so good that I had to immediately go back inside to double check that it was actually gluten free and then buy a second croissant! I would love to know how they manage to make it so light and delicious! Even my gluten-eating family said it was one of the best croissants they had ever eaten and we had just come from Paris.

We came across this bakery by chance and had to wait about 20 minutes to get in the shop to place an order. There were three ladies working in the bakery at time we visited they did work hard, our coffee was served pretty quickly as well as the delicious food we ordered. Bakery products were fantastic and coffee was tasty too. There are very limited seating available if you'd like to have food & the drink on premises. The day we were there, June 5th happened to be Cafe's birthday they were offering some modest discount on the purchases. Nice food, recommended.

A bakery where I could eat anything - a coeliac’s dream! So many pastry options (for good prices too) and lovely coffee. Minimal seating inside but we managed to get the lovely sofa by the window. Absolutely come to this bakery!

Everything was goed. I was craving a carrot cake, this was the nearst decent café to my location. Nice staff, cozy sfeer and the carrot cake didn't disappoint me. You can work or study as you enjoy your delicious dessert. The cardamom chai latte is a most try 👌 Min point: drinks are a bit expensive

We love this place, and always get vegan party options here for our son who is alergic to dairy. To be honest everybody is jealous of his allergy when they see him with his sea salt and chocolate cake! The drinks are very nice and different too, and the place small but cozy. I have been religiously ordering cakes online from Sea Salt Chocolate and they have been the best we have ever had. Their double chocolate and salted caramel flavours stand out, I have yet to have a more tasty chocolate flavoured cake and it's no exaggeration! They are so very yummy that I have never seen a cake being devoured completely before the party ends and guests asking for more!Thanks to the Sea Salt Chocolate team for always delivering the best on time and excelling year after year in the yumminess of their cakes.

Came there on a rainy Monday and the place got me at hello. The smell was absolutely nice and the atmosphere ummmm so warm and cozy it felt like another world inside. We entered when the staff was calligraphing with her handwriting and yh I understand why they made so scrumptious treats (she said they had baking team but let me take this as an impression) We had 1 of the best selling cakes, a sticky toffee pudding, and the fresh baked cookies smell sold us 2. All delicious!! Hope to come back again, you all saved our ade trip to amsterdam with this weather love from Italy🇮🇹

One of the best ones in Amsterdam! Simply loved there creations. My review is dated several years back but I have tried their products many many times and consistently they have been great! Best to make a part of your celebrations or carry a few goodies on a picnic. Loved macrons, pastries, cakes, every thing!

When i asked for their best dessert I got 2 recommended... So this is a dessert showdown on which is the best. The fruity one or the caramel desert... Both desserts are amazingly well balanced and not overpowering in sweetness... Delicious and decadent... What more do you want!? So the answer to what is the best dessert? We are split wich one is better..... But since I am writing this review, I would go for the fruity one.

So far this is the best patisserie that I tried in Amsterdam I LOVE IT! All the pastries are gorgeous and as a chocolate lover I can say that also the merengue lemon pie is stunning. Service is also perfect. I hardly found that level of courtesy in other places in Amsterdam.

Found this place on google map. Had a pleasant visit today. This dessert store is soooooooo cute! They have huge alphabet chocolate which I might get one in the future for friends birthday. The macarons are delicious and so many flavors. You can only put macaron in the fridge for 5 days so I didn’t buy lots today. The mirror glaze mousse cake I got today is also delicious. The berry mousse fits so good with the chocolate base, it’s not too sweet that make you uncomfortable and you can taste some raspberry in it. Oh and the staff was really friendly. Will definitely come visit again.

Cute small bakery, i was a bit upset because I went there around 13:30 and most of the items were gone. But i bought sourdough baguette and croissant, both are nice. Will try to visit earlier next time hopefully they will offer more .

We came to buy some pastries. It was busy, so we had to wait. No problem. Some of the staff passed down the counter, but none said something. Then, after a couple of minutes, finally one said hi and asked us to wait. Couple of minutes later a girl showed up to take our order. Not a greeting of anything. Only an annoyed sounding "ja...". I asked her the flavours of the pastries. She answered briefly. My bf ordered what he want and than I did. We payed and she only packed my order. See picture... she simply took it and threw it in the paper bag. Next time one of the other shops around, with the same quality of pastries, better price, way nicer staff, and decent packing of the pastries.

The best almond croissant in Amsterdam! It has more than enough, rich filling in a warm, crunchy croissant. Their sourdough bread is also very authentic, and made 100% of sourdough starter. It was still fresh after a couple of days. The interior is very simple, you could also follow the baking the process. They have outside benches to enjoy your pastries under the sun. ☀️ staff is also very kind and helpful, I can highly recommend this bakery, even if it is not located in the city center, totally worth to try it.

Croissants were perfectly flaky and buttery and the coffee was excellent as well. Atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly. A great place to enjoy a quiet moment. We are looking forward to future visits and trying more pastries.

One of my top bakeries in Amsterdam. The bread, the feuilleté, and the flavors are just perfect. The savory tomato danish was delicious, and Ulmus serving good coffee along with the viennoiseries is such a good bonus. Really cute ceramics and atmosphere as well!

Delicious pastries, but service was disappointing. My friend’s coffee took 30 minutes to arrive so we had to drink without her. Staff were chatting with friends, ignored us, and were rather rude. They refused loyalty stamps for all 3 coffees, one stamp per order apparently. Which is the first time I’ve heard that, and I collect loyalty cards all over the Netherlands. Tables weren’t cleaned and there were crumbs everywhere. Tasty, but I won’t be back, plenty of other bakeries around.

Absolutely amazing! This is the kind of tourist trap that aren’t trapping 🤣 you deserve the hype! Their chocolate cookie (their only cookie) is amazingggggg even when you queue (the queue always look so long, but they’re actually so fast!) you can smell the good stuff there! It is sooooo soft in the middle, with white chocolate melting inside, and crisp on the outsidee oh God i LOVE♥️ and please eat it while it’s hot cause it’s 20000 times betterr! But don’t worry they give a very detailed way to reheat your cookie at home 🤭👍🏻 (1 cookie = 3€, 6 cookie = 15€)

So, so, so delicious! Definitely worth trying and even worth the wait. I missed out on getting a cookie on my first visit because I arrived about an hour before closing and they had already sold out. So the second time, I went 30 minutes before opening. There were only 5 to 6 groups ahead of me, but by the time it opened, around 15 to 20 groups were in the queue. I was the second one to go in and bought a box of cookies for a friend and one for myself. The cookies were amazing. The white chocolate inside added a nice twist and gave the flavor more depth. Service was fast, and you can watch the whole baking process, which makes the experience even better. 🍪🍪

Phenomenal cookie. Stopped by on a Friday morning to finally try “the best cookie in Amsterdam.” I got there about ten minutes before opening, and there were already 10–15 people in line. While waiting, I watched the bakers through the window. White aprons, trays of dough, golden decors, chocolate everywhere, and the whole scene felt straight out of one of those candy-factory montages from old movies. Once inside, the process was simple. They sell only one kind of cookie, so you just choose how many (up to two dozen per person) and whether you want them in a tin or a paper box. Since I was flying them home, I went for the tin, which seemed to be what most people did. The staff were incredibly kind. One of them even handed me the last warm cookie from the tray for free. The cookie was simple but a perfect mix of dark chocolate batter with a core of white valrhona chocolate. It had that deep roasty aroma that lingered without bitterness, and it wasn’t too sweet. I’ll admit, I’ll always measure cookies against the ones my mom baked when I was a kid, but this was the closest I’ve come to that memory of a “perfect chocolate cookie.” They even include reheating instructions, and sure enough, once I pan-warmed them back home, they somehow got even better. My only regret was not getting the full two dozen.

Simply the best cookie we have ever had. The white chocolate filling was so creamy, and fits perfectly within the soft and rich cookie. It’s no wonder the shop continues to draw the crowds with just one item on its menu!

My friends and I just happened to walk pass after shopping at Bijenkorf Amsterdam. The queue was long but we still joined in the queue. There’s only one item to purchase yet, it’s so popular. The cookie making at the workshop was an essential part for me while waiting in the queue. While my turn to purchase, the cashier worked efficiently to pack and done. Taste wise, it was good and I adored the texture if the cookies, it’s crunchy on the outside and little chewy on the inside. Not too sweet but that’s excellent for me.

Apparently, this is the must-try cookie shop in Amsterdam, so of course we had to check it out. We even skipped dessert at Bistro de la Mer just so we could try these famous cookies! When we arrived, the line was super long—but it moved really fast. It was actually fun watching the cookie makers through the window as they molded the dough by hand and pressed chunks of white chocolate into the center. Kind of like the see-through kitchen you see at Din Tai Fung, if you know what I mean. The cookies were warm, chewy, and definitely tasty. But honestly, they didn’t blow my mind. If I bake cookies at home and eat them fresh out of the oven, they’re also warm and chewy—so this didn’t feel too different. Still, it was fun to try once and worth the experience. Four cookies cost €12—not exactly cheap—but the packaging is cute, and the shop itself has a great vibe. Overall, glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Amnesia was the perfect birthday stop, laid-back, welcoming, and with some of the best vibes I found in the city. Tucked beside a quiet canal, it’s small but cozy, with that classic Amsterdam coffeeshop feel: mellow music, dark wood tables, and staff who are friendly without trying too hard. The menu was solid, and everything felt high quality and well-curated. I grabbed a pre-roll and relaxed with an Amnesia Sorbet, a chilled, fruity blend of strawberry and fresh forest fruit that hit just right. Smooth, sweet, and surprisingly refreshing. And as a bonus? They gave me a branded lighter for my birthday, which was a genuinely kind and unexpected touch. It’s the kind of place you settle into and forget the time. Exactly what a great coffeeshop should be.

Came here over the weekend with my boyfriend and had a lot of fun. Brunette English girl was super nice and made delicious milkshakes! We smoked Gary Payton and were buzzed nicely all night. Great quality bud and great quality service.

Came in there 6.8.2025 at around 11am. First of all great prices!! Best prices if ur looking to go 🌿 somewhere There were two amazing guys serving. They were kind polite and greeted me with a smile. One guy was serving 🌿 and he even had small lights on the table to showcase how the buds looked. On the desk you had a touch tablet where you could read everything about any strain they were selling. If you had any questions the guy would educate you before you took anything. They were even lending out grinders and giving away pre rolled rolling papers. The other guy was Japanese and served me coffee with a bow and respect. He also made me best decorative waffles i had in amsterdam. The guys were very chill and polite, music was wonderful and weed tasted fantastic!! So far the best coffee shop in amsterdam! They were so kind they even let me take a picture of waffle and a coffee i got. As long as i didn’t take picture of anyone inside of a coffee shop! 11/10 would recommend anyone to visit!

I always feel very welcome when I come here! Always nice flowers on the menu, friendly staff and good service, the music on the perfect volume and amazing playlists! Thank you Sarah and André on 2 different days, made the experience great!

I'am truly speechless and I cannot give less than the maximum. We went there last night with my friends (and it was our first night out in Dam) and we were really amazed by how the budtender treated us. This guy Robert, working there the night all alone, treated us like his friends offering to taste the volcano, giving us tips & tricks on the stuff we bought, and accessories, till we were the last people to leave. Definitely check this place, we'll come back!

Staff are nice and friendly. The atmosphere is good because it feels like you’re at home with your friends.. ☺️ We liked how it was a little bit off the main roads so the surrounding area is chilled. There are special kind of weed so it’s perfect if you wanna try something new. 🤩

What a lovely time at Amnesia! We stayed next door for a few days and this coffeeshop was a frequent stop because of the vibes! Francesca and the staff are incredibly kind and genuine people! All of the snacks and drinks we had were amazing (hummus/pita, toastie, affogato) and this was my favorite place in the city! Thank you for a great time!

Very decent cocktails and good food, I can definitely recommend the place! We enjoyed our boozy brunch there (note: by default they give you food and coffee menu pages, but you can ask for additional cocktail menu. Ask, cocktails are good and fairly-priced). The atmosphere is nice, it’s very green and not as loud as some other places - feels like you’re in a park.

A lovely cafe with greenery. Ordered a cider and it came quickly. It's delicious. I don't feel rushed at all either, its as if I could stay for 10 minutes to over an hour.

Lovely atmosphere and we totally understand why it’s so busy! Great vibes and food all round. We tried the French toast and loved every bite. Fast and polite service with loads of sweet and savoury options for food! The matcha was nice but very milky - however it was overall a lovely visit and I’d definitely return for brunch.

Nice cozy cafe and Lovely service. I wish there more variety of the egg dishes for breakfast where I'm forced to oreder smoked salmon since I can't eat ham. But drinking coffee here is spectacular.

Cute spot with tasty dishes, but overhyped and overpriced We had brunch at PLUK and sat inside — it’s a really cozy and cute place, very crowded. The presentation of the dishes was original and elegant, and the food tasted good overall. I had the Norwegian eggs, which were tasty, but my friend’s PLUK breakfast was a miss — the sourdough bread was super stale, hard like a rock. Unfortunately, the table wasn’t very comfortable, the cutlery was dirty when we sat down, and the toilets had a noticeable smell. It’s definitely overpriced for what you get, but still a charming spot if you want something pretty and Instagram-worthy.

Tasty food. We tried avocado toast and the best french toast ever. Good vibes and cozy atmosphere. Courteous staff. Prices are a bit on the higher side but well spent.

Overhyped, overpriced, bad service. Long waiting. We got our food delivered 10min apart from each other even tho we ordered together. Very small bowls. Dirty knife and fork. Eggs Benedict too much cooked. A bit too much lemonjuice on the avocado sourdough. Different types of tomatoes when the menu says cherry tomatoes. A lot of oil without taste. The bread was good but the knife needed to be better to cut it. Very small tables very close together. There are much better worth it breakfast spots in Amsterdam.

The food is dry. The sauce on the brioche sandwich is only on the outside, there is none on the inside. The Norwegian eggs are obviously overcooked. Overall, it's edible, but I would say that the price is too high for this kind of food, and if you have to wait in line, it's definitely not worth it. P.S. The bathroom has seen better days. There are interiors designed to look old, but here it's compounded by the fact that it really hasn't been renovated in a very long time. The flush button is broken, and there are cleaning products right next to it...

Very good cookie spot! Has a line but it goes quickly. I got the brownie pistachio with white chocolate and the chocolate chip with caramel sea salt. It was only ~€7 for two and they were quite filling.

The cookie shop is quite small, but you really just go in and out anyway. As soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by the most amazing cookie smell. We bought two of each flavor, and I’d definitely get them again whenever I’m in Amsterdam – the cookies were absolutely delicious!

Fresh, warm cookies that come in a few different flavors. I tried the dark chocolate and it was good. I don't think there is anything extraordinary about the cookies - they are similar to cookies in the US.

I’m a baker myself and I can say that, they have one of the best cookies I’ve tried! This was given to me as gift last year. So happy to visit Amsterdam last Saturday and get these cookies again. Worth the travel from Belgium! 😊

Beautiful space, nice, quiet and serene. Wonderfully decorated and immersive into where they want to take you. Nice, simple menu and coffee was great. I had what I believe was a Kenyan roast with the cardamom roll. All delicious and served by very kind and attentive staff. Much thanks for making me feel at home There are small tables and a patio, as well as a community table. That was very nice

Super cute place to grab a coffee or matcha to go. Everything is made well and the coffee was super smooth. Would definitely recommend. They have pastries too, even some vegan and gluten free options. I tried the almond bun (vegan) and it was good for a vegan pastry! Not really places to sit besides waiting to pick up your order but great service and good coffee!

I had another idea in mind, and I was disappointed. Although the coffee is good, the rest of the food menu is not appetizing at all. We ordered a cinnamon bun and a rye bread with cheese, and we did not like either the bun or the toast. The bun was extremely sweet, and the cheese rye bread was bland. Only the coffee is worth it. The establishment is very small, and there are too many people and noise.

The coffee at this place is always super nice and delicious. I love their latte. The staff is very nice as well. The pastries are fresh and nice, i tried the cinnamon roll and it was decent. The outdoor space could be better as it gets very busy always and sitting outside is hard.

Cardamom and cinnamon bun are both good, the mushroom danish is also good. Coffee and matcha latte are mediocre though. I like the interior, feels like sitting in a community cafe. The store should mind hygiene around the display area since when I visited at the end of August there’re some flies.

I like the cozy and dark atmosphere. Also like to use trim to adjust the dosage so trim mix on the table is appreciated! I had no problem with staff personally. But I think they were a bit rough to other people, so that’s why I took one star off

Really unfriendly, I watched people walk out due to the ignorance of the one man band working there, i believe he is the owner, but he was so unapproachable. With friendly, approachable staff, this place could be busy and a nice space. However, the energy of the guy there petrified the air for everyone thinking of entering, the guy needs to chill or let someone else take the job. He looks at everyone with aggression. He also says his card machine doesn't work but forgets it doesn't work again and took the card when a client refused to pay cash. Also ZERO wifi. Worst coffee shop in Amsterdam

Very friendly staff, big variety of weed strains. The music was realllllly good and it was also a very comfortable place to spend the evening. (Cash is king)

Let me start off by saying. Ive been here many times. I’ve had many coffees, many great laughs here. This place serves great memories for any tourist looking to vibe out. BAs Joe for sure is a place to check out

Hands down my favourite coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Very relaxed vibe inside with a good selection of drinks. Some seating area outside which was great for sitting in the sunshine. Staff were always helpful and friendly each time we went in, we always felt welcomed.

Always come here when I'm in amsterdam, staff are very friendly, environment is welcoming and chilled, music is a class touch, food and drinks are great🤌 highly recommend to anyone

Love this place!! firstly the staff are super super friendly which as anyone who has been to Amsterdam knows, this isn't always the case with staff in various coffeeshops. They are always open for a chat and offering a smile😁😁. The product is top top tier😎😎 and the best part, they actually do coffees with oat milk! As a pesky vegan I must have asked in 15 coffeeshops, none of them offered dairy alternatives.. but BasJoe do 😁 will be number 1 on my list every time I come back to Amsterdam.
