The 25 best cheap eats in Central Poland

We went here hoping to experience the Polish cuisine. The food was tasty, but it all felt more like a snack bar. You have to order your food at the bar and pay immediately. We wanted to have a starter first and then mains but the menu doesn’t really take starters into account. So we opted for a kids soup (which is half a portion) and as mains we went for jacked potato. I ordered and payed and before I even was back at the table the soup was already served. And halfway the soup the waiter brought our mains. It all felt so rushed, 20 minutes in and we were done with our food. It was tasty and good, but if I you want a restaurant setting I’d recommend going somewhere else. This is more functional food.

My favorite place to eat in Poznań! The staff was super friendly and easy to talk to, the food was amazing, and even the lemonade was great. I had the potatoes with herrings and was really satisfied. The prices are great too, very cheap for the quality. If I ever come back to Poznań, I’ll definitely return to Pyra Bar!

Employees very friendly and helpful, they speak English. The place is very nice decorated, one has to order in the bar and then they take the food to your table, the place has 2 floors, a lot of space inside and a lovely space outside for sunny days. Food was ready in 10 min or less, We payed 26€ for one soup of the day, one (small) Wegenerator casserole, one Szare ale jarskie, one cola and 1 beer. Pretty reasonable price. More than 10 vegetarian options available. The bathroom is clean and nice, the music is not too loud, and the portions are very full filling. I recommend trying this place. This place is simply WOW! Food was amazing amazing and one more time amazing😍 plus prices are very pocket friendly. Go and stuff yourselves with pyra's (potatoes) yum yum yum 🥔🥔🥔

First visit in Poland. First meal in Poznań. Huge success!!! It was so delicious. My credit card had a problem when I paid, but the staff was patient, kind and good at English. I want to thank her.

Super cheap. Milk Bars are big part of Polish history. The food is really good. I felt adventurous so went for pasta with strawberry and cottage cheese and rice with apples and cream. It was surely something and fun to eat. But of course their meat and potato and other food looks good! Lots of locals and very casual and chill.

Very nice and cozy milkbar. I just randomly grab something here. I ordered Bigos and Zurek. It is tasty and they have self-order machine with English too.

AMAZING milk bar, we absolutely loved the ucranian beetroot soup!! It doesn’t look like the prettiest soup out there but just trust me, it’s perfectly seasoned, we inclined the plate to get the very last drop of it 😅😂The placki with smoked cheese were also delicious, as were the pierogi. Would absolutely come again if we didn’t find out about this restaurant on the end of our trip! The raspberry cocktail is superb. 10/10, I’m recommending this place to friends that will come go Warsaw.

Very bland. I ordered from the self check out pierogi with cheese, they gave pierogi with cheesecake filling. No onion, no sourcream. 18zl were highly priced too. Do not recommend

Excellent if you have never been to a traditional Polish Milk Bar. Was great value with good flavours and quality. Well worth it. Perfect before going out for some (shots) drinks, or to have an excellent budget friendly meal.

Cute, small place, but with lots of outdoor places. The teriyaki grool was to die for (I'll definitely come back for it), the other types were also tasty and fulfilling. They have quite a lot of gluten-free options (unfortunately, not the teriyaki one) and they can make some lactose-free if you ask. There are also vege options. Tiramisu is gluten-free, but we didn't try it. There's table service, but even though there were at least 3 members of the staff, they didn't really take care of us - we had to ask to order. Maybe one of those days. But they were friendly.

Groole was the best food I had while visiting Warsaw. The staff and owners are great people and they pay attention to very small details. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back and eat their delicious food again this March and paint another mural for them!

This was the best potato I've ever had. Me and my friends love potatoes and we tried the Hawaiian one and it was indescribably amazing. The curry topping was exquisite, thanks so much for a taste of this🥔✨

I discovered this place by walking around the area. I have no idea why they're not advertising it. This could be a place for WUT students to grab sth. It's really buried at the corner of the building. The baked potatoes are well- prepared One thing I didn't quite like is the tomatoes they weren't fresh at all. But eatable to some extent.

I took the tempeh burger which was good but I felt I was eating more bread that the patty itself, I would have wished to go for the seitan or chickpea patty as they seemed more juicy and ticker

The service was great, however the place itself was humid inside. Ordered a brownie and (a very Slavic) potato patty burger. In other words 2 hash browns in a very thick bun, not bad but also not that exciting. The bun was very thick which made the whole burger feel dry, even though I took the food home so the bun should have absorbed most of the sauce. Unfortunately there was a little bit of sand left on my lettuce, which I noticed when chewing the food. I know it happens, so no big deal, but I guess it could’ve been rinsed a bit longer. Overall my order was ok, but I’m not necessarily in a hurry to revisit. The brownie is chewy and soft, if you like it like that you won’t be disappointed.

Wow ! Burger was really tasty, they are provided various ranges of ingredients so you can make perfect burger according your taste, I thought sauces will be not good since it is vegan but They were perfect. I like token system here so just order and wait for signal to collect your burger. This place has really good interior design and Staffs are really friendly.

I really liked Krowarzywa and I sometimes go there for a lunch or dinner. Portions are usually really big and enough for a person. The food is DELICIOUS. The only thing I dislike about the restaurant are the prices. They are a little bit too expensive, so watch out.

Completely delicious! A must-go place if you like vegan burgers. Lots of variety to choose from and very reasonable prices. I particularly liked the hashtag potatoes. With some extra tomato sauce (obviously home made) instead of the usual ketchup they were amazing. All totally recommended!

I am not vegan but I wanted to try something new. Hey guys this place is amazing! That personal is so kind and helpful when u don't know... And now that meal! I tryed that burger with some kind of peas protein and feel so full! What a tasty and replete dish! Definitely must try even when u are not a vegan like me!

Fast service, tasty food, great option for the vegans in Warsaw. Huge choice of vegan burgers, wraps and bowls. Oh.. I almost forget to mention of great winter tea I had - very fruity, with orange and lemon pieces garnished with clove. Really great food experience. Totally recommend.

Wolt delivery, which definitely has been packed and travelled vertically... All ingredients moved towards one of the edges. The dough wasn't crunchy, but difficult to chew, a bit rubbery, hard to cut with knife... Why the knife? The middle of the pizza was very thin. After initial slicing the piece was hard to separate from the rest. It was impossible to hold a slice in the hand, everything flowed down. The taste of the ingredients was OK - until we found some hair, apparently human...

After attempting to eat there 3 times between Thursday and Monday, while in town for a long weekend break, my verdict is it’s permanently closed . One star rating due to failure to find time to update GMaps etc to not waste others time

This is definitely the place you must visit if you like pizza. Pizzas are not only good but are great. They serve also local craft beers, so you won’t go away thirsty. The restaurant is well hidden in a small alley from the main street so pay attention for the sign at the alley entrance. If pizzas are really great the service was even better. The waiter really brought this meal on even higher level by entertaining our daughter with magic tricks and making us welcome like at his home. Thumbs up and highly recommended for any pizza enthusiast.

The pizza was perfect. One of the best we tried. Prices are very reasonable too. Pet friendly - we were dinning with our small dachshund dog 🐕‍🦺 It was a very cosy place and i would recommend it to anybody 🙂

Must admit that in the past it used to be one of my favorite pizzerias in Poland. Now is a total misunderstanding. Poor quality,lack of taste and overpriced place. Will never pay the same money for these polish ingredients,horrible tomato sauce and low quality salami

An delicious authentic Italian pizza. Nice music (not so authentic) playing setting a cosy atmosphere. Waiters speak both polish and English resulting in a loverly meal with a nice feel kids were not an issue either

Absolutely loved the vegan calzone filled with salad, authentic Italian food! Never had a vegan calzone before, so I was super happy! The menu was only in Polish but the vegan pizzas were labelled as such. We had the wege calzone verde and wege salame, with vegan mozzarella. If you don't speak Polish, visit their website - they have pictures of every item on the menu there 😉

Well, while there's a good selection of beers, the staff seemed unfriendly and careless to help you with anything or - had a couple of beers each, which were good however, the glasses were not very clean. Prices were good as well and for the beers, that was good value for money. I would love to say the same for the food but ours never came, unfortunately 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣 - the place looks really nice though, tables were not really waited nor cleaned though (at least, for the couple if hours we were there).

Not a huge fan of tourist areas, but a trip to the old town is called for on any trip to Warsaw. Same Krafty is still the only place truly worth visiting in this area. Great place to explore trad-style beer like Grätzer and Grodziskie. Really nice place to rest those weary feet.

We saw this while walking, beer taps outside the brewery looked interesting. So we entered and there was a pleasant fragrance of garlic bread and pizza, although we had only beer. The beer was super nice. The ambience was also rustic and interesting. The service was just ok, seems like the girl was not very happy to see us. Anyway, we had good beer here. Not bad cafe near beautiful square. It is very small but it wasn’t crowded. We ordered 2 types of pizza, but can’t say that they were very tasty. And the variety of drinks was poor: only beer and juice. So, just to stay for a snack it’s quite ok, but not for long stay.

Came here for a quick bite to eat, had the pizza and was not disappointed. Nice thin crust, quick service and a plethora of toppings. Being a craft beer place they have 10 beers on tap that rotate regularly - and if you don’t know what you want just ask to taste one or so. Price point is great and service was great.

Visiting this little eatery during a short stay here in Warsaw. I had a soup and a seitan burrito. The soup was very delicious and not to hot 🌶 The burrito was massive! Heavy as a brick which was a good sign cause you do get a lot of food her. It was packed with taste! Juicy,,spicy and insanely delicious. I can't remember the last time I had such a delicious vegan meal. The owner was super friendly too and helped me to order since the menu was only in Polish. Would love to come back! A true hinden gem for both vegans and non vegans.

Nice little spot to grab some quality food. I don't say this lightly, I had THE BEST NACHOS I've ever had! The chilli was 👌🏻and the service was wonderful. My fiancé loved his seitan burrito too. Will definitely come back again when I visit Warsaw.

Popular vegan burger, they added salad recently, the quality is prey good, I liked the salad dressing, vinegratte mustard, the tofu is a bit too salty. Tried the coleslaw as well, good. Overall good experience.

My friend and I were both super happy with what we had (even though we didn't order the fries and had a little language related misunderstanding there as it seemed). The salad bowl was huge and I couldn't even finish it and the burrito was really tasty too. All for a very reasonable price!

Great option for burgers, kebabs, hot dogs... All vegan. Lots of sauces. They tend to get some of the sauces wrong when busy... So try not to confuse them like I did. Fresh lemonade too with a herb option as well. Worth the visit.

THANK YOU FOR EXISTING. Best burger place in town, I've had it twice in less than a week. The vegan pastrami is absolutely amazing. The coleslaw and smoothies are fantastic. And that's all for a reasonable price for the quality of the food, and the burgers are very generously garnished. Warsaw and Krakow are blessed to have this burger chain. Please come to France and the UK!

We had a surprising and delicious experience! The staff at the branch is very nice and helpful. The place is cozy and clean. The food was wonderful! # highly recommend.

I’ve tried only the vegan pastrami’s on salad. The vegan meat achieved nice texture by using seitan mixed with other ingredients. So far it’s good but not excellent. The individual elements were tasty but the whole dish lacked harmony somehow. There were also little spices used so it felt more like a health product than an actual dish. Hence minus one. But all in all, for me worth a second try next time.

We went there for pizza as we have heard that they serve it good. Unfortunately pizza was not so good, quite small and not cheap. For the same price in Tri-city you can find much, much better pizzas. Maybe also in some other place in Toruń. I need to investigate it as here I won't go anymore.

I've been there a few times. The pizza was amazing as always. I ordered the truffle one and I wasn't dissapointed. The price is accurate to the food and the quality. Although, the toilet is very tiny. For someone bigger than me that would be a big problem. The decor and the ambience are decent. The service is alright and the location is in the right place.

You can't go wrong with woodfired pizza, and the staff were charming. I wanted to see how they would approach a basic Margherita and I was really happy - Buffalo mozzarella, generous sauce, basil leaves and olive oil. The crust was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, exactly what you want. Had a lovely time!

Probably the best pizza, you can get outside of Italiy. They have a real Italian stone oven for their handmade, super thin pizza. Their house speciality is Pizza with hot salami, plum marmalade and cheese. Saying, it's delicious, is not enough to describe the excellent taste.

Phenomenal Pizza I would eat here again! Honestly, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life, it was fantastic. I highly recommend the #5 pizza.

Just near my flat, used to be one of my favorite Italian restaurant, have being there more than 30 times, but tonight i had the worst experience ever. Having being waiting one and half hour for my order. The manager just ignored us at all. Will never come back.

Nice Italian restaurant. Food is delicious, prepered from good quality ingredients. Good wines and Italian beverages. Last time we were sitted in the middle next to other occupied table in front of cash desk but restaurant was quite empty only 4 tables occupied, so because of that all the time someone interrupted us and was cold because it's table in front of door.

The restaurant and the food were really nice. However, when we were waiting for our uber one of the people from the restaurant left the door wide open to make us leave quicker and we literally froze. I'm not coming back, that's not the way to treat customers.

Discovered this small pizza cafe online wasn't disappointed. They offer slices which are of good size for 8 złoty, and you can buy a whole 1m long pizza for 70, or half for 45. Food tasted fresh and delicious and inside was clean with staff being very friendly.

Small pizza bar, food delicious and the staff spoke great English, walk in choose a pizza slice at the counter and pay then take a seat and food will be brought to the table. Soft drinks and wine are available at the counter or there is a chiller cabinet with beers on the bottom shelf.

Best price-to-quality ratio in town. They serve really nice pizza and tap wine (ice tried rose and frizzante). I wish they were open a little longer at the weekends.

Traditional places that had been in Torun city centre for many years, only a few things have changed but not the food :) You will not find many options but Piccolo Pizza is famous in Torun. Price is affordable, great taste, good service.

I didn't know there are food stands inside this market. But apparently it was for night eating and drinking. One of the places inside like a disco and play music with DJ. So you eat and drink with music background. However, it is too loud to talk someone and crowded. I think better for young adults

we visited the market when we just arrived in Warsaw for dinner, and it was one of the best meals we had the entire trip! i tried korean style fried chicken and it was awesome, even with some kimchi on the side that was delicious. my sister had tacos from the mexican stand that even my dad, who doesn’t like cilantro, really enjoyed them. for dessert we had taiyaki filled with chocolate cream and custard, which were definitely the highlight of the evening since the guy from the stand said “arigato” to me and i panicked a little (still don’t know why but i was really tired lmao). we also brought some chocolate filled churros and stroopwafel (since my sister is OBSESSED with Max Verstappen). the prices were reasonable, that’s coming from someone from Czechia since i think a nice dinner in Prague is way more expensive. it wasn’t really crowded but i do recommend coming in the late afternoon rather than the evening since you’ll have a place to sit. overall great atmosphere and amazing food! :) (i don’t have many pictures of the food because we were really hungry and ate it too fast lol)

The night market is enjoyable, but it could definitely use more food stands and especially more drink stands. The atmosphere also felt like it needed a bit more energy to really bring it to life. Still, with what it does have to offer, it’s worth a visit and deserves 4 stars.

Great assortment of different places to get food! Loved the quality of the different dishes. The atmosphere is really nice and the audience is of mixed ages. Drinks are plentiful available as well as toilets that are clean and free. Highly recommend checking it out!

Fabulous and World Famous Zapiekanki Well worth a visit... I travel from the UK and stop here everyday visit to Radom

I swear I don't understand why there is a queue every time I pass by this place. The bread of this place is horrible. Like the worst i've ever eaten. It's soft -in a bad way- and tastes like starch. Radom's breads are good in general so I don't where they bring that horrible thing. Ended up feeding pigeons with my zapiekanka... twice. Seriously, just fix your breads.

The best "zapiekanki" on the world. If you are visiting Radom you need to try it. There's always crowd and long line but it's worth it!

A cute little spot with only a few tables – very cozy atmosphere. The pizza was absolutely delicious and the beer was incredible! Fun detail: they give you scissors to cut your pizza, which actually works surprisingly well. There’s also a selection of dipping sauces for the crust, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend them – they didn’t really add to the flavor. Important tip: if you’re a group of 4 or more, a 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill. Because of that, I didn’t leave any extra tip. Did I mention the beer? Seriously, so good!

Fantastic pizzas and services. The shop may not look like much but if you want authentic Neapolitan style pizzas in Warsaw this is the place to go.

This place is PERFECT! Very satisfying and amazing whiskey sour, so I could only assume the same with their other cocktails. The antipasti they serve is gigantic (laid out my hand to compare size) and can feed up to maybe 4-5 people. The pizzas are phenomenal! The dough they use is focaccia too so that adds to the flavour. Great service and good location too! I can only recommend this highly!

Very good Sandwich, when u order spicy it is really spicy. Just Service not good, one time we left when we were told it is in 30 min End of shift, so they do not take any order more. When asking to pay and to come back in 30 min, the big Lady at Service told NO. It seems customer is less important than Staff that wanted to go home, although 4 workers obviously did not had to do too much 😞. Behavior of Staff was scary for us like the Halloween decoration.

I really liked that we got a fresh skewer, which made the chicken juicy, tender, and absolutely delicious. The vegetables were also great—back home in Berlin, they’re often mushy, but here they were cut into pieces that were crisp, though maybe a bit too large. However, the seasoning with dried spices was a nice touch, and I really enjoyed it. I also appreciated the mint in the salad. The salad mix was different from what I’m used to in Berlin, but we wanted to try these local variations. The chili sauce was spicy and probably a standard one from a wholesaler. Unfortunately, even in Berlin, it’s hard to find a truly great one. I have to take off one star, though, because while the bread was light and fluffy, my sandwich only had chili sauce, and by the last quarter, it was completely soaked and falling apart. Overall, my feedback is positive. The food is decent, but the staff should take more time to toast the bread properly and provide better service. That would make this place even better!

As a Turkish I know the difference between good and bad döner and this was definitely below average. I expected more from a döner that I paid 46 zloty. The chicken was burnt it was a very bad experience

Very disappointing. Lawasz was quite small, even when I asked for the big one with extra meat. They changed extra but I am sure they served me a regular one as it was slightly bigger than a hot dog. Also very dry, there is no sauce. I had to wait 15 min to place the order as they told me that one group is finishing now and another is starting so they can't take orders at the moment. Not worth the money paid

Lawasz chicken kebab was okay but not the best and the prices are expensive compared to other kebab places.

I ordered the Kura Klasy and was surprised by the quality of the wrap, also by the various amount of healthy vegetables like zucchini, pepper, potatoes and carrot. Also decided to get some of the peanut sauce on the side because I thought it's a really unique sauce to find at a kebab place and I have to say it was a good decision. Loved the various selections of beer to choose from and the picture of the chicken in the bathroom was a nice touch. 🐓

I’ve tried orzeszkura(around 8 euro) kebab at this place and I was really hoping for the best but… Let’s start with positives 1) size - regular portion is big enough to fill an average man 2) meat - well marinated chicken 3) enough sauce - definitely not dry Now to the negatives 1) packaging - fancy branding and everything but… impossible to properly eat from… you need to tear piece by piece and when packaging gets wet, it is impossible to tear it. I would better use good old aluminium foil as it is better and cheaper 2) wrapping - it is not an all size wrapped kebab, one side left open… in general wrapped not well and easily falls apart 3) taste - I was expecting some tropical notes considering mango and probably there were some, but there is one thing that killed all the taste - DILL! Why?! Maybe it is a local thing, but once you get to it… you could not taste anything else 4) why it is called gemuse kebab when there are no grilled veggies like at all? Overall, I would understand the creativity, if the base was right… but so far only the meat is right I would advice the owners to take a short trip to Berlin and try and learn (again?) from the best gemuse kebabs there - ruyam, bilakiss, even Mustafa

Stoped here for lunch and it was very good - well cooked, quality ingredients, tasty. Will be planning to stop here again during our next trip.

Unfortunately I was not able to come due to being unable to book a table . Spoken with restaurant have been informed that I need to pay in Cash for booking table . Restaurant refused ability pay by card for booking table 🤣why I need to drop cash just to book a table and return again ? That a joke

The best Italian on the island. We stayed for 7 days and ate here 3x. Order the funghi trifolati, bread and the vongole!

Without a doubt your best choice in Radomsko. Specialising in Italian dishes with a great variety of pizza, pasta and risotto, but also offering great choice for antipasti, meat and fish options. I ordered the Caprese salad with burrata mozzarella, and then the fried, battered squid rings, both cooked and presented nicely. Great staff service and cosy atmosphere, recommended if you happen to be in the surrounding area

Food is very tasty! The staff is also very friendly and the Chef can really cook italian food. The location is cozy and very enjoyable for a nice dinner. Consigliatissimo e da leccarsi i baffi!

The best Pizza I have ever eaten outside Italy. I may not be an expert, but I live in Italy and I have some kind of idea about how a good pizza should taste like. The waitresses are really nice, the chef is Italian and the place is Venice themed. There isn't a lot of room inside and I recommend booking a table, especially on Friday and Saturday. One more thing, they make the thinner kind if Pizza, which I personally prefer. If you're looking for the authentic Italian thick pizza, I guess you'll have to get a plane ticket ;)

Was there twice. The pizza is good, beer is cold and the staff friendly. What else should one ask for?

Die Pizzas sind zwar günstig allerdings sollte man nicht zu viel erwarten. Das Personal spricht auch kein Englisch. (Translated by Google) The pizzas are cheap, but you shouldn't expect too much. The staff also doesn't speak English.

Yesterday, we ordered pizza zlota 65....it was delivered burned and with cuted sides at two pizzas. I have never faced anything like this before.

Unbelievable value for money. Great pastas and pizzas. Excellent wines by the glass and bottle priced extremely well. Good down to earth family restaurant. The entrance is nothing special just pass through the takeaway counter and there is the comfortable restaurant in the back. Staff speak perfect English if that is of help.

The place is great for a tasty pizza. I have been there quite often and the pizza is still great. This place is not too crowded so even during lunch time you will find a free table. They also deliver.

A dough was too thin, so when you get the slice it couldn't stay straight. Only small diameters in menu. We have ordered two and the edges were burnt on both.

One of the best places I've ever been, food was amazing and the staff had such a pleasant attitude and was very funny which elevated our experience.

Excellent restaurant with lovely pizza and pasta. Fast service. Great location; in the town centre but off the street, relaxed atmosphere, away from pollution and loud traffic and safe distance from cars (if you have children). The restaurant also has a small play area that children love.

One of the greatest places I've ever eaten. Literally. The pizza was very tasty, and the olive oils... There are many options you can choose from. And the chocolate tart was just amazing. I'd never eaten something like that before.

Really delicious pizza. Couldn't eat it all so asked for a takeaway box which they kindly gave us. Good interesting drinks choice too. The menu did more than just pizzas so would like to go back sometime to try something different.

Pizza is very, very testy and good quality of products as Italian's wants, just it needs stay 1 minute longer inside the oven. Shrimps were little bit to dry, but good was the test of it. Lemoniada strawberries... For me was not testy at all. The ice-cream is deliciously delicious! Some problem with the flies in the kitchen and around the tables. Over this I recommend this please.

We are turist from the France and tried this restaurant. Everything was really perfect. The service was fast, efficient and with a smile. We eat a pizza, a pasta and a panacotta. It was really good, tasty and nicely served. We made a very nice experience and recommande this restaurant with pleasure. Thanks for the nice moment we passed.

Wonderful vegan kebab. Freshly made and with super side-dishes, like fried sweet potato. Drinks are home made and also very very nice. Relaxed little place to sit as well. Recommendable!

Am visiting from England and bought a Beiruit vegab. It was very good quality and the flavours were amazing. I had it with a mild spice and it was just right. I am a meat eater and am used to kebabs in England but these were so much better. Would recommend a visit, you wont be disappointed.

It was okay. ‚Meat‘ is nothing special, lemonade smelled a bit odd, fries were not crispy, cake was good. The staff was a bit unmotivated and annoyed by us and was talking about us in polish which I could understand.

Lovely Vegan kebab. I just wish they kept thick air fried chips, but they sadly changed them to the thin fries-not so good any more.

Somewhere to specifically go on your trip! Top quality food (great flavour combinations), and crazy big portions. Great lemonades too. Was a highlight of the city for me

This is fantastic place for craft beer lovers but you will get nice coffee as well. You will find there beer from  regional, small breweries. High quality, no GMO or artificial ingredients. Nice customer service, friendly advice, reasonable prices. Worth to go and discover. I can recommend.

Many different beers, nice staff that knows it's selection, quiet enough for nice conversation and they allso have board games.

They have always craft black beer and its is really good, definitely i can advice that.

Great! The girl in the bar really knows what she's selling and she can give advice.
