The 26 best cheap eats in the Funen and Islands

After trying to find some local food I gave up and went with Korean Street Food. It was absolutely great food! Unfortunately I don’t know a single word in danish but managed to order the Korean Pancake Menu, which was loaded with veggies and had a decent amount of shrimp in it. I loved it, would recommend!

We had a fantastic meal here, starting with their flavorful Vietnamese pho and a variety of delicious dishes. Each dish was authentic and packed with flavor, and the Vietnamese coffee was the perfect way to end the meal. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome.

We were here during our holiday in Denmark and the food was delicious! Even my boyfriend, who just came back from Vietnam, was surprised by the food! Next time, I hope to eat the pho :) The only downside was that it was confusing where to order. Several people were waiting at their table, not knowing that you should order at the counter

The food was covered in oil.. too fried and no taste, in my opinion. I ordered beside the first dish ( which I did not like) that I don’t remember the name, ( it can be seen in the photo below) another sandwich with some tofu strips in it and it was decent. The local is nice decorated. The staff is friendly.

Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Denmark, and I tried a few in Cph. Very authentic, good price and the staff was nice! Should open one in Cph!

We were very disappointed with this restaurant. The portions had almost no meat – my meal barely had any beef, and my partner’s dish had almost no chicken. We had to wait around 15 minutes with dirty dishes before the waitress came. The food was extremely oily, and at the end, they overcharged us by using a fake exchange rate (“1 euro = 8 kr”) So we paid 40 kr more. Definitely not worth the price, and we wouldn’t recommend it. If you want to experience real, good Vietnamese food, I recommend Vietnam Street Food – delicious dishes in proper portions and amazing service.

Vegetarian options. Pho is missing some ‘hits’ on flavors. But it is hard to do that for vegetarian dish so I guess it is a pass. Good proportion of food. Friendly staff and short wait.

Place looks nice. The crew is friendly. About the food. On the bufe option - foods have too much oil on. As like the chicken, økse, the ribs taste like it stood 2days in water (at least for me). The rice is dry, and the noodles are with out taste. Soup is good. Susi avarage. The wok chef cooks on place with out air circulation. So the hall place have smoke inside. Food at buffet line are normal, I couldn't say it's okay either.🥴 Some pieces of sushi at buffet bar is old test. It's seem like they made it too long time already, so dry and you can feel it old tested food cooked. Fresh water coming in the Jar with some ice and it's will costing you for 45 DK.💸 not recommended indeed but if you want to try for expensive's experience there you go.... 💸💸

Tables and chairs were all dirty and sticky. There was lots of different food at the buffet, but everything was dry and not fresh. It seems like it was just kept warm the whole day (we ate dinner). Price is OK, but would not go there again.

Had the buffet dinner, and it was decent at best. A lot of the meat dishes on the buffet were tough and dry as if they were there for a long time. Ordered coke and it was flat without any bubbles. The crab soup was good, so was the ice cream, which was a nice addition to the buffet option. A lot of the deep fried foods are from store-bought frozen products. Overall, the quality is barely buffet food quality. Maybe can get away with take away quality but wouldn't call it a good buffet place.

Ate here Sunday 11 September. Ordered beef with broccoli. When they brought the plate, it looked very good, meat with broccoli, mushrooms and onion in a sauce. But the food was barely warm! Only the rice was hot. The beef pieces were cut way too thick. They were still raw on the inside, and almost impossible to cut, let alone chew. Asked them to fry it a while longer. When they brought it back, the mushrooms were missing and there was no trace of the sauce, making it very tasteless. I believe they simply threw together a new portion quickly on the grill and either forgot, or didn't bother, to add sauce and mushrooms. And the meat was only slightly more cooked this time. Could not bring myself to eat much of it, and left still hungry. Have eaten here twice before, when I also ordered from the menu, and both those times the food was good. But this time's total failure made certain I'll never come back. At least the staff was friendly, hence the two stars.

These pizzas were perfectly authentic italian. Lots of flavor, great service and just amazing pizza. He asked us on the phone to pay in advance because so many people order on the phone and never turn up. We decided to go to the store to order in person rather than agreeing (because we’re from out of town and wanted to make sure) but it’s all good - he’s such a sweetheart and went out of his way to give us the best possible service. Might be the best pizza I’ve had in Denmark.

Fantastic pizza in the heart of Odense. We had two pizzas two glasses of wine and one great conversation with the owner/pizzaiolo. The crust for the pizza is handmade and perfectly crispy. And the final touch of olive oil, dried herbs, and fresh chopped chili's was a great addition. GO EAT IT

If you want a classic italian pizza, here is the place. The one in the photo is a small margarita (only for me)... it was a very good dinner and I got fully satisfied. It is a good option in case you are in a hangout, alone or in a date.

We arrived at La piazzetta at 8:58 right before they closed searching for food as we had just arrived in town minutes before. We smelled the delicious flavors at La Piazzetta and had to eat there. They kindly let us in after their closing time and were very patient and happy. The place was very sweet and cozy with nice Italian music playing and overal good vibes, I will say the place was a little warm for my taste. The pizza was delicious and cheesy our group got multiple different pizzas and shared and i will say the #1,4 and 8 were very good. They had a good variety of cold drinks as well. The servers were very friendly and nice and if we are in town again we will definitely be stopping by. I would say this is the best pizza restaurant if not in Denmark in Odense.

It is an amazing cozy restaurant in the city center. The pizza was delicious and the size is great given it's price. Even more excellent is the service and the warmth by which you are hosted. Musa is awesome, kind hearted person. It is a treat to know him and spend time at this beautiful pizza joint. Highly recommended.

Lovely service and the best pizza in Odense! The pinsa dough is ferment for a log time, so is light and tasty, plus it's possible to notice that all the ingredient are very high quality. I've already try many of their pinsas and I never been disappointed 😊😋

It's been here for decades and only gets better. Fish, chips, burgers, hotdogs etc plus ice creams aplenty. And the best treatment for gluten free you're gonna get.

Most of the food is fried but of a good quality. You can get huge icecream, a good cheap coffee and nice service. Sometimes live music as well.

We went to King of Kebab based on their good reviews and approach with fresh ingredients, and we weren't disappointed. First-timers at Submarine Sandwich, and we didn't get a particular good first impression of the place since we were meet by a grumpy lady that seemed like she rolled her eyes at all our questions and enquiries and rather wanted to be anywhere but right there. Not helpful regarding the menu and different choices, and we felt not wanted and not taken care of. Sandwiches were pretty decent, nothing special and bread were soggy and not fitting to a warm steak sandwich. A sandwich place like to many others.

I enjoy stopping by one the days I have the time and the mood for a sub. The staff has always been so nice and subs in great quality. If you're not keen of a lot of people, I would recommed going there before the rush hours where loads of people come. It is a small and narrow area around the sandwich making station~

Cheapest sandwich bar in Odense. Also happens to be one of the oldest and best. Salads, subs, smiling service. What more can you ask for of a Subways style shop? Food is fresh, locale is always clean, personal always smiling.

Best MC Donald's I ever been to

Food was quickly served but seemed to have been done with a lot of care and attention. The service was super attentive and great but from the kitchen staff, the waitress left mid meal. The food was freshly made and my husband enjoyed the leftover pizza a lot. Everything in town was closed at the time so it’s a reliable lunch spot.

This pizzaria uses an old school stone oven and so the pizza's is really crusty. Their is not to much oil on the pizza's which is usually a problem in pizzarias. The pizza's are really good. Service is also good But they charge 5 kr. Per person if you eat in the restaurant, it is not much but they don't tell you.

The pizza was very nice. The only issue I had was that it took long for me to get my order. But they were very busy, so it was understandable

My go-to pizza place in Odense! What I love about it is the quality of the ingredients and the fact that they come to the closest taste to the proper Italian pizza. Customer service is amazing and the fact that they speak great English is just another plus.

Our family had a great meal here. We all really liked our varied food selections; pizza for me, falafel for my son, and "Greek meat" (gyro elsewhere) for my husband. All slightly different than at home, ex. falafel was on bread-ier pita than at home, all tasted great!! Very happy with our dinner choice.

Poor quality and ordered extra bacon but godt extra ham instead. Their deep pans are just thick dough and not crusty at all.

The place was okay, and they had different types of seats. It was bigger than most macdolands branches you'd see across Danmark, including the one in København H. The restrooms were downstairs (with no access for disabled), and the only one upstairs was extremely flithy with a clogged sink. The staff were nice and time spent from ordering to receiving the food was convenient.

I have more than 5 times now ordered something i havent gotten at all or waited more than 1 hour for, when its just a simple order. I have lived in Odense my entier life and can say this place is the worst waste of your time and money. Avoid it, make mc learn that a dysfunktional resturant isent fair for their workers and costumers.

My first time trying Carl's Jr. it's a pretty neat place i have to admit, very delicious fries and burgers outside the usual mainstream offers. I highly recommend it if you want to quickly grab a bite.

There is a long wait compared to other of the same restaurants and the quality in this shop is lesser than the ones in Vejle and holstebro. All in all the food is very tasty and my review may sound negative, but I will keep coming back ;)

Gotten food from here maybe 10 times, and the pizza taste great. I live close by so delivery is very quick. The sauce is very tasty, meat taste fresh and fries are quite nice. Only once did we get a wrong order, I called the pizza place and we had a replacement within 15 min. My only complaint was when we ordered a family size pizza, which was supposed to feed 4-5 was barely able to feed 2 adults, maybe 3. So make sure you order a bit larger than you need.
