After driving past here one too many times, I had to stop by and see what the rave was about. There was always a line whenever I was just passing by. So this time, I decided to give Capt'n Franks a try. The Food: The food here, were just okay. Nothing to tell home about. Just quick, fast service that gets the job done if you're craving a good hot dog. I went with the Texas Dog, Kraut Dog and the Chili Cheese Dog. All of them tasted good. However, I did order a side of hush puppies. And, those were awful. No flavor in the batter whatsoever and no amount of dipping sauce could have saved it. The Service: Service was fast and easy. Wait in line, order at the front and they'll either deliver to your table or call your number. The Atmosphere: Nice beach vibes that gives a feeling like this is a hidden gem or a must-go too spot. Cool place with seating indoors and on the roof as well. Overall, a 3/5. I understand they're hot dogs, but there wasn't much of a wow factor I saw. Definitely give this a place a try though! All the combinations looked and sounded good.

This place is the perfect spot for lunch at the beach! My family has been going there for over 30 years and I love how not much has changed in that time. It’s also so special to get to share it with my own kids now! The food is great, the staff is so friendly and it’s my favorite way to start off our beach trip.

OBX staple. This place is so freakin fast and good! They know how to make one heck of a hot dog! facilities are clean, atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are very attentive and nice. Food was warm and delicious. Once you come here, it will be a stop every time you cruise through. The tickets slide down once ordered and it’s neat to experience.

A neat place to get an awesome hot dog, dressed out just about any way you'd like. Fries are great too. Old school vibe with historic photos of yester-year. Both indoor and outdoor seating. (Lunch only, Monday through Saturday) Generally busy, but worth the wait.

The fact that this is a family-owned business over multiple Generations says it all! Hots dogs big, and bigger, any way you like them. Indoor and outdoor seating picnic style at ground level or from elevated deck. Order at counter. Crowd can fluctuate greatly depending on day of week, time of day and in-season v. off-season. I love this place!! We ate here twice in two days.The dogs are great and the people are great!! If you are in OBX eat at Capt'n Franks!! Get the footlong Texas dog it's awesome!! My wife's favorite was the Aloha dog!! We will be back every time we're in OBX!!!

We really enjoyed the Bratwurst and Chili Dog. The house made chips and fries are crispy and fresh. You can get a vegan bratwurst (plant based) as an option but weirdly enough not mentioned on the menu. I only know because of reading reviews here that you can do it.

Nauti Dog is the most exceptional hot dog place ever with vegetarian & exotic hot dog entrees to try. Their menu was very extensive. I had an Asian version of a hot dog and wish I had tried the Carolina hot dog instead. My hot dog was good yet I wish I had went traditional. Their onion rings were the favorite part of my meal. Nice staff and customer service. The place was clean and pleasant. Love their tee shirts and the ambience. No crowds and no lines. My companions loved their chili and Carolina hot dogs. Parking was free during that month. This will be a definite go see again & lunch place for me.

I was so excited to visit Nauti Dog after seeing the vegan options that people on here said were available, so I was a bit disappointed to find they had cut a lot of them out ( or at least I wasn’t told about them all). However, they still offered the Impossible Brat as a substitute. So I got the German Dog on the French baguette with the Impossible Brat. It was delicious! Love their homemade chips and their fries, also. All in all, a good vegan option but I wish they still offered the Beyond Mi. That sounded amazing!!

Honestly, the best hot dog joint I’ve ever experienced! So glad we were able to stop by not once, but twice during our little getaway to Nauti Dog. We tried almost all of the options for hot dogs and not one of them was bad. Highly recommend trying this place! Service was great and atmosphere was airy and pleasant!

We were visiting Fort Fisher and the NC Aquarium there and decided to stop somewhere in town for lunch before heading back to Wilmington. We found Nauti Dog on google and thought it sounded pretty interesting. We ended up getting 4 dogs and 1 appetizer. None of the cooks were wearing masks but the wait staff all had masks on. The restaurant was super crowded on Friday around 1PM in April and we were not comfortable eating in the restaurant so we ordered carry out. From what my wife could tell, there was no attempts in the restaurant to reduce capacity or social distance. We ordered: Nauti Dog - which tasted like your typical hot dog with some fixings. The cheese was good, the bacon was good and pretzel bun was great. Nothing really special but if you're looking for a good hot dog this would probably satisfy your craving. Chili Dog - we had this without mustard as my middle son doesn't like mustard. Similar to the Nauti Dog, it was good hot dog. Nothing that really knocked us off our feet but it was a good chili dog. The fried onion straws were a nice touch. Cali Dog - this was totally different and we really liked it (especially my wife). The texture from the cucumbers, tomatoes and raw red onions on the hot dog. It had a great kick from the onions but the guacamole helped cool it down too. There was so much flavor from the toppings that we barely noticed the turkey dog itself. We would definitely get this one again and suggest anyone wanted a more refreshing hot dog (almost like a salad) to get this one. Gouda Dog - this one was my personal favorite. The mustard and pimento cheese and onion straws gave it a very a very strong cheesy flavor that made it also very distinct but also still taste like a hot dog. There was so much toppings on this one as well we used it to dip the chips in. If you like cheese then this is the hot dog for you. Would also recommend this to anyone who is interested in trying something a little different. Pretzel and Beer Cheese appetizer - My wife really wanted this to satisfy her pretzel craving and she said it did not disappoint. It was your standard beer cheese but since we did carry out the cheese wasn't very liquidy and was more like a thick paste. It still tasted good but sometimes you just want that texture. The pretzel was also good but also nothing to really write home about. House made chips - every hot dog we got came with a side of the house made chips. 2 of my 3 kids did not like it at all. To be honest it had a very overly deep fried almost burnt taste to them. They were a acquired taste for sure. I mean I'm not picky and they were fine to me. We determined they did taste better when dipped in the ranch we also got. So maybe next time we upgrade the side to something else. Overall it was a good meal and did it's job. We probably wouldn't go out of our way to go back to Nauti Dog but if we were in the area again we would most likely stop by and maybe try some of their other unique hot dogs.

I almost gave 4 stars, but they deserve 5. Food and cocktails were good enough. Everything tasted good and If I was craving hot dogs and I was in the area, I would go back. BUT would I recommend it to others? Not really… I expected better. Hopefully, they will cross my path again in the future and that hotdog will change my mind. Most mediocre 5 stars I’ve given.

Nauti Dog is a Carolina Beach staple for a reason. The place is so inviting, eat indoors or outdoors, bar seating, and walk up ordering options. I highly recommend any of their beef 🌭 hotdogs for kids (don't order specialty, order custom), the house made chips and 🍟 fries, the Gouda Dog, any of their specialty cocktails, and the cucumber tomato salad. They also have ♿ handicap accessible 🅿️ parking, seating, and 🚻 restrooms.

Amazing pizza, great prices. They want to move you in and out fast. It was my 1st time there and it was go go go. I wanted a garlic knot or 2 but they only sell them in 6 and they are huge. I was by myself so didn't need 6. No indoor seating, luckily it was nice out and I found a table outside. Not much patience, for me or the man behind me, but great pizza.

Ordered take out & received incorrect pizza. We ordered 1 meat lovers with extra cheese and 1 other pizza (3 toppings on 1 1/2 & plain cheese on the other 1/2) - we received the correct 2nd pizza but received a cheese only pizza instead of meat lovers. I think this was an attention to detail issue.

Got the Philly Cheeseteak and the White Spinach. The toppings were flavorful but huge. I'd prefer smaller topping more spread out and more sauce as well. The end of the crust is way too chewy though. Not crispy at all. I'd give it 3.5 stars if that was possible.

Lived here my whole life never had a disappointing meal from Slice however tonight when we got our food and we paid 6.50 for mozzarella sticks, we were very disappointed in them. They tasted like frozen mozzarella sticks and the sauce was not that great however pizza is very good.

Stopped in for an easy dinner night! Service was pretty quick, they took our order, and we waited outside while it was thrown in the oven to warm up. Pizza was Delicious, and garlic knots were yummy! Only downside was the limited outside seating, was a little warm out, and flies were out pretty bad. All together, it was great pizza, and we'll come back for an easy, and cheaper meal!

I have eaten all up and down this island but this is definitely one of the best places I've experienced here. Probably the best burger overall on the island with very strong fundamentals and good ingredient balance/ratio as well as hot and fresh hushpuppies that straight up touched my soul. I also enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and general vibe of the restaurant as well as the friendly and attentive staff. I think the most important thing to me is not just how good the food was but that the prices were very reasonable for such well made and tasty food. The price vs meal satisfaction for this place is very impressive. Some places on this island are tasty but difficult to enjoy because of the high prices but with this place i don't have to try to justify it to myself i can just savor those absolutely delightful hushpuppies to my hearts content.

We stopped here for breakfast one morning and it didn't disappoint! My husband had the breakfast platter, I got corned beef hash and extra bacon. It was cooked to perfection- eggs popped and the bacon is crispy. It also came with potatoes and toast. I attached pictures of the most up to date menu. The restaurant was very busy. There was a long line and wasn't sure where to go. I believe the owner told me to sit at the bar where I placed the order. The server was helpful and the food came fairly quickly.

We found this quaint family restaurant at the end of our vacation and wish we’d have found it much sooner! We had breakfast there the first day and returned Friday and Saturday because we loved it so much! The menu is full of home cooked, as well as local favorites and everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and very good. Servings are generous and the prices are low to average for the Emerald Isle/Atlantic Beach area. We were there in the off-season, but we did have to wait a few minutes to get a table - very brief wait times, but I would imagine in-season this place is packed. No other restaurant on the island had a wait time during our trip. That in itself should tell you something. Again, the food was great, but the best thing about 4 Corners? The atmosphere and staff!!! Jess was our waitress on all three visits. She was friendly, sweet, efficient and most of all genuine. Our drinks were always refilled and she even brought to-go cups and containers without us even asking. She took time out, when she wasn’t hustling to wait other tables, to chat with her customers and get to know them. Even though she asked the standard “How is everything?” She also asked “Did ya’ll get enough to eat?” I know it sounds silly, but that question alone made us feel like we were sitting at a mom’s kitchen table having a hearty breakfast. Then there was David, one of the family members that owns the 4 Corners. Right away I noticed how interactive he was with all his customers. Not only did he greet us upon our arrival and check us out at the end of our meal, but he was constantly making rounds, stopping at every table in the restaurant to make sure folks had what they needed. I watched him clear plates and refill drinks several times as well. Again, just like Jess, he took the time to get to know us and made us feel so very welcome. And it was genuine! You could tell the staff love their jobs and were one big family there. Everyone was smiling and pleasant. They took pride in their work and their restaurant - you could feel that family vibe from start to finish and even though we loved the food, the atmosphere is what had us coming back. Give it a try, there’s something for everyone on the menu. They serve breakfast and lunch. The only con to this restaurant? They are only open until 2:00 each day. We probably would have ate dinner there as well if they had been open, but I get the feeling one of the reasons they have limited hours is so they and their staff can have a life with their families and loved ones too.

Whenever we have guests in town, we try to make it to the 4 Corners. The food is reliably good, and the entire menu is served all day, so if you're with a 5-year-old who decides he wan5s Grouper for breakfast, this place has you covered. I highly recommend their link sausages. They're next level delicious. They renovated over the winter, and the redo is fabulous. Way more efficient for the server staff. Our server, Jess, was excellent. Attentive enough to keep us happy, without hovering. We'll definitely be back.

Wonderful place, we ended up coming for breakfast twice and lunch once on our trip down to Atlantic Beach. Each visit was great, the team at 4 Corners Diner is so friendly, welcoming and personable. The owner constantly checked on us and remembered us from prior visits. Good food, great atmosphere, small wait with the crowds trying to get inside but not at all bad considering the volume of people and our large party. Will be back next time we're in town.

Skip and go somewhere else! French toast was horrible. Not even real French Toast, the cook dipped it in pancake batter, which takes away the whole purpose of French toast. I did show the server the issue, and she didn't even try to correct it or offer a different item. Eggs were also fake, liquid eggs.

Placed the grits on top of the omelette instead of in a separate container. The biscuit was as hard as a rock, and there was no cheese on the two breakfast sandwiches, although we were charged for it. When we tried to call several times to resolve the issue, the line was busy.

The BBQ House is a must when you’re in this area! You can tell that their time and effort goes into the quality of the food and service. They are super friendly and casual and their food is incredible!!! Highly recommend the brisket, pork, hush puppies, onion rings, sweet potato fries, green beans, and Mac & cheese.

Good food! One way to tell a good place if they have their own sauces! If you’re into pork it’s great. Chicken and Beef brisket is not up to standards very chewy. Bit overall tastes great! I got onion rings and corn cob sided - all was amazing- Crunchy and soft.

My family and I got take out tonight and it was so good - literally everything was awesome! Portions were generous and we especially appreciated the napkins, plastic cutlery, and lots of sauces and cinnamon honey butters to enjoy in our rental!

I have to give a high five and praise to Jenny and Codee. Every single time I come in with my family I usually get either one of those ladies and they do such an amazing job! Food is always so delicious! We have no issues when coming here. Portions are really nice. The ladies bust their butt here waitressing!! I have been here for almost 5 weeks visiting my family and we have eaten out sooo much and I have to say the service here is always the best!

We ate here while vacationing with family and had an awesome experience. My brother is gluten free and the waitress was very knowledgeable on what would work for him on their menu, and they had several options for him. Everyone else was happy with their meals, as well. Highly recommended!

I was visiting my daughter who is stationed in Cherry Point and my friend who lives in this area took me to some hidden gems. Let me tell you this was one of the highlights of my trip. The food was fantastic!! The employees were equally so, from the servers to the cooks. If you’re looking for good fast food (outside of the norm) and great service, this is your place! The fish filet sandwich was great. The fries were good. The server was nice, even though she had to come out in the rain! Highly recommend and will definitely come back when we are in town again.

An impromptu turn took us to El's Drive-In and we loved it! The cheese burger and fries are delicious...and were finished with our meal way too quickly 😋 great service, and a great atmosphere!

Who doesn't love the classic El's drive in diner ?! Always hot,fresh and fast! I live in SC now but you can be sure we'll get by here anytime we come up to visit family!!! We got the shrimp burger basket with sweet tea this time. Which is my usual go to. You just drive up, sit in your car and someone will walk right up and take your order and bring it to you. There are a few picnic tables if you'd like to get out and sit under a shade tree.

The food was okay, though not my personal favorite — the shrimp burger and sides could use a little more flavor. What really made the stop worthwhile was the service. The waitresses were quick, friendly, and truly the highlight of the visit, giving El’s its classic charm.

We grabbed pizza for the family during a recent trip to the Outer Banks, and American Pie Drive In was a solid choice. The pizza was tasty, though a tad greasy, but still enjoyable. Their ice cream was a hit with the kids and quite delicious! The place impressed us with its cleanliness, and the staff were friendly and efficient, serving our order in good time. Overall, a nice spot for a quick family meal. Would recommend!

The Food was really good. I had the Mahi Mahi Po' Boy. One of the pieces of fish was a little overcooked but over all the sandwich was REALLY good. The fries were fantastic.

My wife and I stopped in here while traveling through the area. We had a great experience. Awesome service, and the ice cream was so good! The wife had the ice cream taco, and i had a black raspberry milkshake. Highly recommended!

This is the best pizza I have ever had. I've had a ton of pizza from a bunch of pizza places and none of them come close to tasting as good as this pizza. Me and my family live 5 hours away and when we come down here for our vacation this is the thing I look forward to the most. I would move down here to the beach just for this pizza. This is the first time my girlfriend came down to the beach with me for our vacation and all she could say was wow because it was that good.

We ended up sitting outside because it was so busy, and honestly, I’m glad we did. Inside felt hot and cramped, but outside was much more comfortable. The buffet itself was excellent—tons of seafood and everything we tried was delicious! That said, the place wasn’t the cleanest. The bathroom was in such bad shape it was basically unusable, which really took away from the overall experience. I get that it’s hard to keep up with that many people coming through, but if cleanliness can’t be maintained, they should consider limiting how many guests they allow in at a time. So while the food was truly amazing, the overcrowded and less-than-clean environment made it tough to give this place the rating it could have earned.

The young ladies working there were great. They treat customers as if they've always known them. The food is always amazing. We had the Steak & Cheese w/fries and it was delicious. Their pizza is fantastic. Over the years, I've eaten here many, many times and will continue to do so.

We ordered 2 flounder burgers, a hotdog, cheese fries, and two ice vanilla creams. We paid about $30 something. First, I want to start by saying they have excellent customer service. Hands down the absolute best customer service I’ve experienced in a while. That holds high bc nowadays it’s hard to find. Flounder burgers: my son said it was a 9/10. He loved it! I thought it was good. I personally prefer freshly breaded seafood. Maybe it was freshly breaded with flour. I think they use a bread crumb breading. This fish tasted fresh for sure but the type of breading wasn’t my desired choice. Cheese fries: I’m sorry but it wasn’t good. It tastes like they slapped cheese on plain fries. I recommend using a different cheese and seasoning the fries with salt or old bay. Hotdogs: my daughter loved it. Can’t go wrong with the simple stuff. Vanilla ice cream: they didn’t have vanilla. My kids love vanilla and aren’t a big fan of chocolate. I told them that we can accept one chocolate since the machine wasn’t ready but they gave us both chocolate. Maybe it was a miscommunication. They didn’t like it. I tried it and if you like chocolate ice cream it tastes like chocolate. It wasn’t bad. My picky kids just have their preference. Thank you for the good food! I would recommend it to a friend! Definitely a great price too!

I went to enjoy the day for Father’s Day yesterday with my family, I understand it is a busy and chaotic week for many businesses there but we did not AT ALL feel welcomed. The lady up front taking our order which only consisted of ice cream was rude and it felt like she did not want to serve us. A business can refuse anyone service if that was the case she should have. After paying we noticed the business political views on the front window which I’m not opposed to and it seemed because of our skin tone she was not interested in taking our order. I’m very disappointed in the manner we were treated especially as tourist.

This place will be BUSY for dinner so just be prepared to wait. It’s a walk up order window where you also pick up your food. The guy in front of us ordered literally 10 burgers and we were starving and didn’t want to wait the 20 minutes so we got the chicken nuggets instead. They were extra crispy and came out pretty quick. They had honey mustard, BBQ, and ketchup for dipping.

It was amazing food. You could tell they cooked everything fresh. The person who took our order was incredibly nice and polite and funny.

I’ve been coming here for years. Before it was Beach Burgers it was a house my family rented when I was a kid. The food is great. Loved the Sundrop/Cheerwine Freeze wish they served it every day.

We are at the burger shack last night and it’s cute, it was good. My son brought a guest to the beach and didn’t want to eat our seafood boil and wanted to get hotdog and fries again instead. We are a few houses down and I told my son to walk and take my card and get his friend food. The friend joined. When they got there, BurgerShack called out for Chris (my husbands name) and his friend assumed it was his food as we’ve picked up or ordered everything thus far on the trip (not from here specifically). It was our son and his friends misunderstanding/fault for being confused. They are big for their age but only 12/13. They took someone else’s order. They walked back home and said they picked up the order for “Chris” and I immediately said “nope, you took someone’s food”. I drove them back immediately. My daughter hopped out bc they were embarrassed and I had her return it and order his meal. She was met with a rude lady who said something to the effect of, “so your brother is the one who stole the food? I was about to call the cops!” I fully understand the inconvenience of this situation. The bother it causes an unassuming customer, the need to remake food, etc. I get it. I am very sorry for the misunderstanding and accident that occurred. But I think the lady working needs to work on her people skills/professionalism and not threaten children with the police. That’s a bit much. My daughter is 12, she made her feel uncomfortable. The lady was rude. My daughter didn’t take the food. We didn’t steal, we returned it. It was an accident and things happen. When the food was done, I went to the window to be met with a smirky woman. I said we sent the children to get the food and they made a mistake. To accuse them of stealing is wild.” And she shut the window.

Very simple menu but plenty to satisfy. Prices are not outrageous and the food was very tasty. Right within walking distance of the pier so it is very convenient as well. The staff working today when I visited was very courteous and got the food out quickly. With the majority of everything else in the area being closed I see this as the only place I would visit…. Most lowly every day during my stay!

Got it to go but seemed like your spitting image of a beach pizza spot. With that being said if you’re going for an idea of authentic Italian head to Italy because Olive Garden isn’t either. Slices are the way to go, good variety and the more toppings the more flop, so we got 4 slices well done and they were 🔥! For out of towners or overseas; this is not Chicago style, Detroit Style or you local chain. It’s NY Style and it truly was, thin, large slices that in New York fashion you can fold in half and eat. We snagged 2 supremes a cheese and a sausage/pepp was just under 20.00. Want to feed the family on a budget after you paid 400 plus a night, this will do the trick!

We used to love eating here, but the quality of the food has declined, and the customer service is subpar. The pizza is too oily and greasy; the salads are a joke and overpriced, with more lettuce than anything else. Bojangles has better, more flavourful, and cheaper salads. Roma pizza and subs are a better choice! By the way, our table was very dirty, and no one seemed to care to clean it up while we were there. We tried finding a table that wasn't nasty, but there was no such luck here. We will never return to this place when vacationing at Emerald Isle.

Pizza was very good. The sauce was a little sweeter than I was use to but other than that, no complaints. Staff was great and the atmosphere was exactly what I would expect out of a pizza joint. I would definitely come back.

If you order takeout, check it first. Pizza was ok, a bit too heavy on the bread side for my taste, and seamed to be a tad underdone and doughy, but my wife enjoyed it. For some strange reason they only added toppings to half of the pie. The other half was just an ordinary cheese pizza. Huh? Didn't notice this till we got back to our condo.

It’s surprising that people in a place of business don’t know what professionalism is. You all shouldn’t talk about your customers to your coworkers while the customer is still in the building like we couldn’t hear. The employees were nice to us, as we ordered our food however not while we waited patiently. The food wasn’t even good. Will not be returning.

Really good pizza. Place is small and gets really busy. People dont seem to care they are pretty much on top of you when waiting for their food. Will never eat there, best to get it to go.

We got takeout from here for dinner. I had some fried cauliflower which was amazing. I also had a chicken bacon wrap which was pretty good. The fries were okay, kinda just tasted like frozen ones from a bag. We may try to dine in soon as well, the restaurant is super cute inside! They have ice cream and stuff too!

We both had hoagies one turkey and one Italian. OMG delicious is not even close to what they were. Yummy, greatness in a roll and exquisitely tasty! They also have ice cream and an arcade. The restaurant was clean and service was quick! We'll be back when visiting NC again!

This was mid April, however I recently thought of my experience here and thought I would share. I placed a to go order around 70$ and when I got there it was PACKED. They handed it over promptly! I was in the car when a young girl ran out as fast as she could to hand me a couple of ranches. She said she wasn’t sure if they made it in the bag.. turns out they had. Everything I had ordered was, and it was very good! Both my friend and I working in the service industry made a couple comments about how caring that was and we will return on our next girls trip!

Such good reviews, so I was a bit disappointed in the very bland mango habanera wings. No heat or flavor at all. Otherwise, the service was good and the prices fair. Fries pickles were pretty good

We've gotten take out pizza here a few times. Definitely our favorite pizza spot in Hatteras area. Great service and lots of toppings. A very popular spot on the island.

"Food worth eating is worth waiting for" except this isn't worth eating or waiting for. Waited for over 30 minutes for essentially gas station pizza. Chicken was dry and overtook every other flavor on the chicken bacon ranch pizza. The prices are INSANE as well, $20 for a specialty pie and it only being 12" was certainly a choice. This is a tourist trap and you should honestly eat somewhere else. Everyone was pretty friendly though.

Had Google maps allowed users to rate 0, I would have given this place a clear 0/5 stars. No doubt it’s the worst pizza I ever had in my life. The amount of oil and grease on the pizzas is exorbitant. The crust is not baked properly and we could clearly taste the thick uncooked parts of the base. The cheese on the pizza is too gross and of very poor quality. It’s just similar to some melted rubber which had been rubbed onto an uncooked base. We couldn’t have it and had to just throw away it. I bet if Gordan Ramsay comes to know about this place, he would be really happy to shoot an episode for Kitchen Nightmares. He would surely be disappointed with the quality of the food and may suggest some pointers to making this place better. Coming to the service, it was indeed terrible. We have ordered 2 small sized pizzas and a cheese pizza by slice. Despite waiting for 40 minutes, we were not given our cheese pizza and had to remind them for it.

Big Oaks was in North Carolina’s “Our State Magazine” about the NC Shrimp Burger. We go to Emerald Isle every summer and had never heard of it, so we tried it. The shrimp burger is the main attraction at Big Oak, and while the barbecue isn’t an afterthought, it’s also not all that great. I’d call the sandwich a slightly below-average one, with little smoke and heavily reliant on cole slaw to give it moisture. The hush puppies are a bargain at $0.89 for a bag of six, but unfortunately, they weren’t much better than the pork Sammy. The shrimp burger is nothing to write home about. The regular fries were super. There were only a few picnic tables, so we went to Crystal Coast Brewing, bought adult beverages, and ate there. Big Oak was better than a 3 rating but not quite a 4.

Classic roadside fried seafood and fries. A bit heavy but that should be expected. I have been trying to get a scalop burger last 3 visits wasn't able to get one. 😩 I keep coming back.

This was my first time here , and let me say, the food was nothing short of amazing. We got the shrimp burger, fries & tea. We couldn't pull off because the food was that good. We will be back.

I would drive from central NC to eat here. It's so good. I've been vacationing in Emerald Isle since the 90's and on the rare occasions I've not gotten a Big Oak shrimp burger, I've regretted it.

My family and I have been visiting the Big Oak for many years. Back when there was an alive oak tree near the entrance, all throughout the dead standing oak period, and now after the tree that gave this place it's name has long since left. Their menu is pretty wide and I suspect that everyone will find something they like, as long as it's your typical dinner cravings. Almost everyone who goes there goes for one thing though, and that's the shrimp burger. You will not find a better shrimp burger anywhere. Some things have changed over the years, and not just the price. For a place with no dining area, wait staff, or anybody it was dang near $20 a person to eat here. Politics are on full display, something that I personally wish would stay out of the public portion of businesses. The hot sauce on the shrimp burger is not particularly hot anymore, though that may be my tolerance for spice changing more than anything. All and all, we drove an hour out of our way to eat here and I'm glad we did. I got a shrimp burger and chocolate milkshake, and sat on my tailgate like I had so many times before. We may jokingly call this place the "Formerly Oak Drive-In", but it'll always be the best shrimp burger I'll ever have.

My first experience with a shrimp burger at this restaurant was truly life-changing. The flavors and textures were extraordinary, making it easily the best shrimp burger I've ever had. I'll definitely be returning for a second round before I leave the island. If you're a seafood lover, missing out on this shrimp burger would be a huge mistake. My only complaint is that they need more picnic tables at the back.

I was her in October of '19 while on a cross country roadtrip from OR. I popped in for breakfast as it looked like a great place for a real Southern breakfast. It did not disappoint. I'd never had liver pudding before, so I thought I'd be daring and give it a try. It was seasoned similarly to sausage with the consistency of fried grits. I liked it. The biscuits were great and the eggs were made to what my order was, over easy. Service was friendly and efficient, price was reasonable. I left satisfied to continue on my journey.

Ate here recently with my family. I had the pork chop special plate and it was delicious and the perfect amount. My mom said they had the best coffee she’s had in a while. I sampled the BBQ too, so good. Our waitress was great and the atmosphere welcoming. Definitely will be back and will recommend.

When we arrived, there was a wait for breakfast, and we were seated and ordered after about 20 minutes. I chose the senior breakfast, which includes one egg, two strips of bacon, hash browns, a biscuit, and tea. I noticed a note on the menu stating, “Menu price does not reflect the increased price of eggs,” which likely explained an additional $1.50 charge. It took a while for our food to arrive, and I was informed they were out of biscuits. I was told it would take 20–25 minutes to prepare more and was offered toast or an English muffin as alternatives. I decided to wait for the biscuit. To my surprise, it arrived sooner than expected—about 10 minutes later—and was absolutely delicious. While I genuinely enjoy this restaurant, I find it puzzling that they ran out of such a breakfast staple.

Good ole southern home cookin’. No frills, just good eats. The staff are all very friendly and it’s obvious the locals do eat there because the staff knows their names. We’ve been in town for 2.5 days and we’ve eaten here twice; once for dinner and once for lunch. If they’re serving the blackened tuna steak, go for it! It’s amazing! They also serve their burgers and oysters burgers on the softest yummiest brioche buns. The homemade chips are delicious too. Oh the carrot cake was so moist it just melted in my mouth and I’m not even a carrot cake fan but I didn’t leave a crumb! Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are perfect.

What great food and service. One of my favorite, if not my favorite in Southport.

We arrived at 10:01 am at the restaurant. We waited for a table. At 11 am I talked to the receptionist that the food was not ready after 40 additional minutes. I asked to pay for the half cup of coffee and a sweet tea we got but she said “talk to the server.” Evidently, we were forgotten. It’s 11 am and our food is not ready. The server forgot about us. We didn’t get a coffee refill. When I talked to the receptionist she didn’t apologize for the inconvenience. We asked to get a to go box. We didn’t even get silverware. We ended up eating in the car to avoid missing our ferry ⛴️ due to the 1 hour delay! The staff was so entitled that never apologized nor acknowledged responsibility for ignoring customers. We will stay far away from this crowded and smelly place.

We’ve been wanting to try this out for a while, they’re just usually super busy the times that we’ve checked. Finally went tonight for dinner and it was so good! The service was good, the food was amazing, everyone at our table liked everything they got. We had mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, fries, bbq plate and the Philly cheesesteak and there was absolutely no complaints from anyone. Will definitely be back!

Nice cashier guy. Good service. 3 Pizzas arrived fairly quickly. Toppings very good. Crust soft and very thin. A tad soggy in the middle for my taste. I asked for extra crispy to avoid the sog but it didn't help. Oh well. Overall nice experience. Wonderful sitting outside. No indoor seating.🍕🍕🍕🍕

We ate here twice during our OKI trip. Pizza is delicious. Lots of options. Excellent crust. Reheats well too, if you have leftovers. The first time we went there they gave everyone free garlic knots which were also delicious. I only wish they had better shade on their outdoor seating (no indoor seating at all since it's such a small building) bc the sun was very intense this week. Clean bathrooms. Reasonable pricing.

The pizza is tasty and has good menu options, some that are unique to this establishment. The Caesar salad was very good. Overall it's a little pricey for the quality and amount of toppings we received.

Based on all of the great reviews, we ordered takeout on our first night of vacation. I’m not sure if we just hit a rough time or what but we did not have the same great experience as others. The pizza was ok, but our salads were made with browning, wilted lettuce and I assume our garlic knots were packed up before they were finished as they were just plain dough balls. Unfortunately, a disappointing meal for our group.

Great staff and delicious food with lots of options and variety! Shout-out to Toni & Victoria, you girls made our first night in town after a long day of driving so easy and put smiles on our faces! We had a big family gathering, checking in Saturday afternoon, and needed an easy take-out food option for the first night. I called Pepperoni when they first opened and placed a giant order over the phone with a little bit of everything off the menu. Victoria got it exactly correct the first time, and our food was ready exactly when we asked to pick it up at 6pm, while the place was slammed busy! Our family was delighted it was so easy, and the wings were a huge hit. Many thanks to your staff and kitchen for nailing our order, kicking off a great week with a bang :-)

My family selected the pepperoni pizza with garlic knots. I opted for the Greek salad with grilled chicken as I can’t eat gluten. The salad was so good - fresh feta, beautiful cooked grilled chicken. My family said the pizza and garlic knots were fantastically made and very flavorful. I threw in a side of garlic butter as I know my family loves the garlic butter that one of the pizza chains provides, but they said (and I agree) that this garlic butter was hands down the best they have ever had. Maybe they (PGatB - Pepperoni Grill at the Beach) would send me the recipe since I don’t live close enough visit this restaurant each week, but trust me - if I did live closer, this restaurant would be considered a weekly option in my dinner rotation:)

Lunch was amazing. Ordered the fried flounder tray and it was big enough for two people. Came with Cole slaw and fries but the star attraction was the flounder. Lightly breaded and scored so every part was cooked to perfection. Be sure to turn the fish over to get all the deliciousness.

Customer service is family level and the selections are fresh off the boat most of the time. So impressed with the quality and the ride there is gorgeous. Will return.

Reasonable prices, immaculately fresh seafood, and it's location away from commercial OBX all make this a great place to go. Retail store has a lot of choices you don't often see elsewhere (eg, sheepshead, triggerfish).

Amazing restaurant with some perfect food. Very clean and very professional staff. The raw seafood looked absolutely superb and seeing them dress the fish in the back was awesome. Can’t wait to return one day and experience it again.

Finally made it out here to try. Waited at the register to order because 3 employees behind the counter were busy talking. But our help was friendly when she stepped over finally. You're asked to tip but keep in mind you'll walk to a counter to grab your food and clean your table. No sweetener of any type for the unsweetened tea, so keep that in mind. Shrimp basket came with at least a dozen shrimp but they are maybe medium size before cooking. Very tasty, perfectly cooked served with coleslaw that was really good. You get another side and I tried the pasta salad that was about 1/4 cup and it was good. You can have tartar sauce or cocktail sauce and you get 1 small container. I could have used a little more but you do have ketchup, hot sauce and mustard on the table if you want any of that. The blueberry lemon cake is worth every bit of the $5 price. It was so good. The burgers looked delicious. This is good for a very casual lunch.

This place has everything about seafood. They will have what you are looking for. and the sell prepared food. Had a seabass sandwich. very good. And a lot of BIG BOATS everywhere.

Long standing well earned local reputation. New owners are staying true to what is almost local legend. It's a drive-in with clean outdoor seating and some umbrellas. Dolphin Boat and a chocolate malt are my favorite things. It's fresh fried Mahi Mahi... just brilliantly and consistently delivered.

Absolutely love Johns. The food is always on point and the ice cream always hits the spot. Chili dog is amazing. Burgers. Fantastic! Fries always crisp. It could benefit from some better shade on the eating area. My kids always ask to go for icecream at John’s.

This is a drive-up, order at the window, wait around, get your name called, grab your food and go kinda beach place. Just perfect for the area. I drove up and parked right in front and ordered at the window. I was told the dolphin bite basket was probably their most popular thing (and the folks in front of me ordered it) so I got it, too. It comes with a side + hushpuppies; I got coleslaw. You can also get fries or fried okra (normally I'm a fried okra fan, but I had seen from other google posts that they looked like your typical, frozen fried okra and I've had that too many times. My apologies to John's if they batter and fry their okra there). I also ordered a large, chocolate shake. I then stood by my car (they have few benches to wait on, most people wait in their car with the window down to hear their names called). The ordering process is simple enough, order off the large chalkboard. This place, by the way, has so many things other than burgers. Anyway, the reason I took a star away from the service is that they do that thing where they rotate the screen so you can add a tip. I'm so over that and don't usually patronize businesses that still do that. My name was called and I sat in my car to eat. BTW, there is a nice picnic table seating area around back, too far to hear your name called, but perfect to go and sit and eat. First, the shake wasn't great. It seems to be handmade but it is from soft-serve, so it has that soft-serve artificial, McDonald's taste about it. Not my favorite. When it was done, however, there was clearly chocolate syrup in it so it is hand-spun, not just a shake machine thing. The food was great. I got four pieces of dolphin hand battered and fried in an almost funnel cake-like batter. The flavor of the fish came through and the frying was top-notch. The hushpuppies were a delight: sweet cornbread with a thin fry crust reminiscent of a corn-dog. Yummy. The coleslaw was not the star of the show. Good, but I think it needed to be wetter with more slaw dressing. I would definitely go back. I think the okra deserves a try at least, and I want to know how their burgers compare to that place down south near pea island.

Hands down the best milkshakes and mahi boats at the beach. I woudk place a bet they have the best shakes in the world !!! They are the perfect thickness and freshest tasting. The dolphin boats with the Cajun remalade sauce is amazing. Can’t beat the price of this meal either, pup cups are a plus and the staff always is giving water to the dogs outside . And cant beat the address. The ocean is right across the dune . My fav place to go at the beach !!!

An OBX classic, my family has been coming here for their legendary crab cake for generations. This spot has such a laid back atmosphere to it. You can feel the salty spirit of the OBX back in the day before it got so crowded. The picnic/eating area makes for a really campy setting, great for editorial images.

My daughter and I stopped in for a first try of their pizza and let me tell you, they did not disappoint!!! We ordered the Loaded Pizza and it was delicious! The sauce and toppings tasted so fresh. I'm sorry I did not get a photo to share. I will definitely try them again when I am at Emerald Isle. I now want to try the one in Jacksonville. Thanks for the wonderful food and services. I wish I would have even got the lady's name who ordered our pizza because she was super nice and very informative of the different items on their menu.

The pizza and garlic knots were delicious!! Customer service was top notch. I placed the order under my husband’s name and Riley remembered my face and his name. I know she sees a lot of faces throughout the day!! She was very personable and always smiling.

I didn’t think to take a picture until we already chowed down but this pizza is GOOD! I haven’t had good thin yummy pizza like this since I was a kid in New Jersey. My husband is army and we have lived alot of places. We will definitely eat here everytime we visit the area and recommend it! !!

Shockingly good NY-style pizza, and served up quick! This is such an unexpected favorite on EI. Unassuming shop, with a display case of pizza ready to order by the slice...or you can have them make you a fresh pie if you're not in a hurry. The by the slice is seriously good - giant portions at a great price, with a perfectly crispy yet chewy crust and some creative topping combinations. The garlic knots are good, but the real treat is the cannoli.

Did a take-out order from here largely due to fact it was one of the first pizza places we could find that had a gluten-free option. Pizza toppings were plentiful and the traditional style crust was good. If we come back, they’ll be on our list of good pizza options! Employed handled our special instructions (half one pizza, half another) like it was business as usual and we appreciated that response!

Absolutely the best pizza place around here. We moved here a little over a year ago and tried the “billboard” pizza place a few times and we weren’t happy with the consistency of the pizza. Sometimes thick, sometimes thin, sometimes burnt on the bottom, sometimes good. Then we found Lazzara’s pizza and We could not be happier. True LI NY pizza!!! Always good, never disappoints. And the cannolis are an awesome bonus! So happy to support this pizza place.

My wife and I went here for dinner a few Saturdays ago. The atmosphere is great and the food is really good! It feels a little tight in there but comfortable! The service is kind of a hit and miss depending on your waiter or waitress, however, everyone seems very nice!

In town from Michigan, this was our first time visiting. My daughter who lives down here recommended it for breakfast. We'll prob be back tomorrow morning too and every time I'm in town from now on, it'll be my breakfast place. Food was excellent, service was fast, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was great and the sanitation score of 99.5 made me all the happier to eat there and offer up my review and solid recommendation to anyone considering whether or not to try eating there.

A pleasant place to dine. Overall, the food was good, except the country fried steak. It tasted and looked prepackaged. The buffalo chicken wrap was really tasty. The fries were excellent, and the service was friendly and professional.

Food looked and was delicious. Had the catfish sandwich with sweet potato fries and my husband got the same thing but regualr fries. Everything was steaming hot which made it better just try not to burn your tongue. Catfish did taste a bit like dirt which means it was a bit bigger than the best taste but it was still good.

Yummy southern style breakfast with grandma vibes. Felt very homey! Friendly prices, staff, and atmosphere. Always busy!! Very hard working cooks that don't get enough praise for how much food they push out!

I wished I could have given 5 stars considering how many good things I've seen online about this establishment. I've been in a few times during morning and lunch time. unfortunately the only good thing I can say is that the Kettle omelette, the hunt club sandwich were very astounding, props to the chef. The servers who waited on me were very attentive and friendly however I noticed they seemed to be the only ones not piled around the counter talking. Also for a place that's "family friendly" I noticed quite a few girls wearing very short shorts and showing a generous amount of cleavage. I think from now on I'll be ordering strictly Togo's.

It was really really good! Husband got hamburger steak, cabbage and apple sauce and I got Chicken Hibachi, comes with Yum Yum sauce as well😋!! 5 stars all the way!! Drinks were very good and fresh as well! Very clean and laid back! Amazing friendly service as well!! Love you Kettle🫶🏻

Burgers are just above average, nothing to brag about at all. Cheep tasing cheese, they do give you more fries than you would expect, but very greasy. Honestly most sit down restaurants burgers and fries are better. Service was great though. 1 Cheeseburger, fries and 2 fountain drinks $23

Went with my family yesterday. It was right at opening. Family ordered then I ordered a hotdog with fries. I asked the lady what she suggested for toppings and she simply waves at the board behind her. I said yes, I can read. I guess I say all of this to say she was just plain rude and didn't even attempt to be helpful. I will say everything was pretty good but the lady running the register definitely needs to work on her people skills. That was the quickest I ever got 0% on the tip screen in my life.

I pulled in 5 mins. to close and we had just a few mins earlier had been denied access to the Food Lion(RUDE LYIN') with 10 mins. left before they closed. I Walked into a super clean restaurant that had ppl hard at work preparing to shut it down for the evening. They, to my surprise when i asked if they minded dropping a big order of fries for me, the manager smiled and said ,"for sure!" It made Dad the hero again after forgetting to buy fries at the store earlier. I brought home a giant bag of FIVE GUYS fries hot and sizzling fresh!

Place was really nasty ,dirt on the floors .food was subpar at best. The name of five guys will only get you so far. I will not be returning.

I'm on Keto diet. Girl said I could get as many toppings as I wanted. So I had cheeseburger with no bun and plenty of toppings. It was tasty. Hubby had regular cheeseburger. It was all good. Thanks to the kind girl who helped me with diet.

Great burgers and fries always from 5 guys kinda hard to mess that up, The service from this particular store is not good, when I placed my order it said 6-11 minutes and I showed up about 8 minutes after receiving that notification... when I arrived I waoted an additional 25 minutes for 2 burgers and a drink. They handed me my milkshake as soon as I walked up to the counter so by the time I got my actual food the milkshake was no longer edible and fully melted. Not the worst but very very from the best.

The food was delicious! Unfortunately, the manager on duty with the red lipstick was incredibly rude when a cashier asked for change for his drawer. Disappointed that everyone had to hear the words she said. Be better to those who work under you, or speak with them privately. Sad.

We had a great time here! They’re very knowledgeable on what’s gluten free and they have great service. The food was delicious and the chips were really good. All tacos can be gluten free except the teriyaki.

First time guest! We are not big fast food people. However, Dank Burroto was AMAZING. We stopped by with out children and parents and everyone from the 5 year old to the 65 year old loved it! I personally had the Asian burrito and was obsessed. I also bites my husband's carne asada with kimchi (homemade kimchi) and it was phenomenal. They also had the best employees. They were all so hard working and friendly!

Cool and funky dining room along with creative flavors? Yes please! I enjoyed both of my visits, getting different menu items both times. Really enjoyed both of the interesting takes on familiar ingredients. Pork belly was crispy and delicious. Would recommend.

We had a large party of 8 and ordered at an earlier dinner time and it did take awhile to get our food(not absurdly long). The food was mostly good and a few things were great! Highly recommend the cheese steak burrito and the shrimp burger burrito. Wish they’d had a margarita or a cold beer but overall we enjoyed the food, got our large order correct which is always appreciated, and we enjoyed the funky flavors.

Been stopping here for a few years now on family beach trips. Great food, awesome atmosphere. Be sure to check your bags though, our queso was missing!!

We have never been here before but decided to give it a try since we are here on vacation! 10 out of 10! From the second we came in the door, Shannon made us feel at home and helped us and answered all of our questions with enthusiasm and patience! She was so helpful in explaining the menu! This place RULES when comes to doing breakfast. Everytime I stay on Oak Island, I eat breakfast here. Wait staff are so friendly and efficient! Makes your day. A smile goes a long way. Their coffee is heavenly good. Highly recommended eatery.

This breakfast place was highly recommended to us. It was a weekend morning, but it was so packed. We were told it would be about a 15 minute wait. It ended up being an hour and 10 minutes. It's kind of a little dive, and the food was good, although I don't think it was worth that long of a wait. I think most any breakfast place would be about the same quality. Most irritating is we checked the prices on their website. They were so inexpensive that with 8 of us we thought it would be the perfect place. As it turns out most prices were between 2-3 times that posted on their website. They definitely need to have someone keep it updated if they are going to have a website for people to look at. I wouldn't go again just because it wasn't as fabulous and inexpensive as we expected.

Perfect little diner near the entrance of Caswell Beach and Long Beach. Service is friendly and fast. Tried much of the menu during a 1 week beach trip. Everything was tasty and properly cooked. Can get very busy during season but the "buzzers" to let you know tables are ready reach some of the nearby shops. I would visit again next time I'm in the area. Great value for the amount of food you receive. Parking can be a bit tight.

The lunch special is a good deal. Generous size portions and toppings on thin crust slices. Tasty pasta salad. Service was superb. Kris (Chris) was attentive, friendly, and very tolerant of our group of 9 older ladies.

We did a build your own pizza with sausage, hot honey, tomatoes, spinach and ricotta cheese. It was so fire 😭 so freaking delicious. I’ll be dreaming of it for a while and missing it when out of town. Would recommend and return!

Slice of Life pizza is the best in Wilmington. The staff is great, and the prices are very reasonable. Working in Wilmington, I like to try different restaurants for lunch. The one place I started to go on a regular basis in Slice of Life. Today, I walked in to order a few slices of pizza to go and one of the wait staff asked if I wanted black olives on my pizza. Everything was great. Our server was wonderful. We had a large pepperoni, chicken, ricotta, and hot honey pizza.

Stopped by while driving through wilmington due to a recommendation from my brother. really cool spot. The staff were really friendly and helpful with picking out a beer and what to order… we got pizza lunch special obviously! 2 slices of 2 topping pizza and pasta salad for $10. The pizza was great and the toppings were very fresh didn’t taste like they came from a can. There’s outdoor seating that is dog friendly . It’s fenced in so we didn’t have to worry about my dog trying to run off.

We were on vacation and decided to stop into the market street location. I’m a pizza lover and this pizza was sooo good. One of the best we’ve had! Service and atmosphere was great as well.

Cashier was on FaceTime while we ordered and never mentioned the up charge when you pay with card. Paid almost $15 for a sub with soggy brown lettuce and old soggy pickles. Very disappointing.

We met the owners while dining at Sandbar & Grille. We picked up an order to go and we were not disappointed. Our daughter was delighted to finally get a bagel where she didn't have to apply the peanut butter herself. The ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches on English muffin were flavorful and moist. Our son was delighted to have French toast sticks after we made him eat fruit and bagels all week. Frisco's was a hit. Thank you. We'll be back in the future.

We stopped by this morning for the first time. We were first greeted by two lovely ladies. They were super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious and so were the warm chocolate chip cookies. With so many great food options, we couldn’t make up our minds about what to order. They were extremely kind and generous that they also gave us an extra sandwich on the house. The restaurant was really clean and so was the bathroom (which is a rare find anymore). I cant say enough great things about this place definitely going back again!!! Keep up the great work! :)

We came in after sightseeing we ordered and the wait wasn’t long, but when we got our food I went up to get sauces and napkins waited 15 minutes to ask someone, couldn’t get around to ask as everyone was to busy I went to the outside window and the lady told me to go back in where I proceeded to go back in and wait another few minutes, gave up and by the time I got back outside my family was already done eating and had been for several minutes, I work in food I get it’s a struggle in rush but also your service is the most important thing, everyone else in my family seemed to enjoy it, but I ended up not eating as my family had more to go do. I believe this place would be good if it had bigger facilities and more staff, if you go don’t go during rush.

Food is great! Been there many times and have never been disappointed…….until yesterday. Not with the food but with a “cook” in back filling orders. So rude. We called in our order for carry out. Gal on phone very nice. Got there on time. Order ready on time but one sub wrong. Chewed out by the employee in back. She also did it to another customer waiting in line. Totally get that you were understaffed and slammed. Great to be that busy. A few words from the folks up front to explain being understaffed and it may take a bit longer. No problem. We can all give a little grace. But, to be chastised in such a rude manner, think we’ll try Kat’s next.

I was told about this place by a local, who said this is the best breakfast sandwiches around. She wasn’t wrong! We went here twice in the week we visited and loved everything both times. The staff is friendly and prices were very fair. Will definitely return!

Hot dogs are great with a good variety of options. My favorite was the taco dog and the long beach dog. A small dining room but there is outdoor seating as well.

Discovered this place yesterday and decided to swing in and see what it was all about and when I tell you, you will not be disappointed they have a variety of hot dogs that you cannot go wrong with!!! It was absolutely fantastic and don’t forget to grab your fresh squeezed lemonade. They have an adorable outdoor patio you could do carryout or you can dine in no matter how you decide to eat your dogs. You will be bs k for more! There was a line out the door and it moved so smoothly. I think we only waited maybe 10 minutes for our meal. We will definitely be back.

Got 3 hot dogs, and they were so good, I went back up and ordered another. I loved them all, and the key lime pie cookie sandwich was delicious as well. Tried the lemonade for my drink and thought it was awesome.

Bob’s Dogs is seriously the spot. The hot dogs are legit—perfect snap, super fresh toppings, and the buns don’t fall apart (big win). I went with the chili cheese dog and it was messy in the best way possible. Fries? Crispy perfection. But honestly, the coolest part? It’s dog friendly. Being able to hang out with friends, crush some hot dogs, and bring my pup along is such a vibe. The staff even came out to say hi to him, which just made the whole thing feel extra chill and welcoming. If you’re looking for a low-key place with great food, quick service, and a super laid-back atmosphere, Bob’s Dogs is it. 10/10 recommend.

Delicious hot dogs at great prices! The Oak Island dog has a tasty chili and a great combo with mustard, onion, and slaw. Fresh fries come in little brown bags, and the Cheerwine was a great compliment. The place is small inside, but we sat at the picnic tables under the 'tiki' umbrella and enjoyed our inexpensive and very delicious lunch.

Goes right to my top 5 in hot dogs ever! Not to mention you cannot beat the prices. Way to go dont change a thing. Yes those prices on the picture of menu are current.

My favorite lunch spot in Oak Island. Hot dogs are delicious, buns are soft, chili is excellent. Indoor seating and also outdoor picnic tables so you can have your pup join you for lunch.

Amazing find for us. We took a rainy day car ride and ended up here with empty bellies. Walked in and were immediately greeted and shown a table to sit and get our order together. Large pizza and a lasagna dinner was what we ordered and boy was it good! The pizza was crispy but not burnt with plenty of large cut toppings. We had pepperoni, ham, bacon and black olives. Delicious! My son wanted to try the lasagna and let me tell you, this was the best lasagna I have ever had! The portion was large and I ended up finishing it for him. I thought it would be the same tomato sauce that’s on the pizza but it’s not. Or at least it’s doctored up some. It had a great cheesy taste to it that complemented the pasta nicely. It’s about a 20 minute drive for us but we will be back for sure!! 10/10

This place has delicious pizza and salads! Friendly staff, relaxed and casual atmosphere. We got a large pepperoni and it was perfect. Thin and crispy crust, yummy sauce, gooey cheese. We’ve been going there several times over the years and it never disappoints. Try it!

We got a large Pepperoni & Sausage, that’s our go to. Upon eating the first slice, I questioned why we got a large…but this pie was so f’in good I ate 4 more pieces! My wife, who had the other 3 slices said “this is better than John’s on Bleecker” which if you know Dave Portnoy, One Bite, you know that’s the best pizza in Manhattan. So that’s some high praise! The crust on this pizza was perfect. Great flavor, good crunch, and no flop. At least when you get it fresh. Red sauce was perfect, just the right amount of pepperoni and sausage. It really was the perfect pie! 5/5 Very friendly staff. Greeted us with friendly smiles and were quick and happy. 5/5 Restaurant looked nice and was very clean. We ate outside even though it was 95 degrees, the umbrellas over the tables and sea breeze kept us from being overheated. 5/5 If we’re ever back in Atlantic Beach we are definitely coming back here!

Our family’s tank was on empty, emotionally and physically. We had travel and hour by land and sea to go see a lighthouse that you couldnt go to the top of. The only thing worse in life than going to a lighthouse, is then being denied access to something you didnt want to be at in the first place. Anyways we were driving home and were starved, cranky, and salty (not the good kind of “salt life” the dark side no one talks about). All i wanted in life was pizza, by some miracle my wife found Roma Pizza. The GPS put us at exactly 3 minutes after closing time. Lucky for the family, dad drives faster than his understanding of Newtons laws of motion. Wife called ahead and they were happy to hand us the pizza at exactly closing time! We pulled up with precisely 2 minutes to spare. The pizza came out. We ate it in the back of our telluride. It was the best pizza ever! Crispy perfection with a balance of flavor. The the golden ratio of crust, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Even my 9 yr old who only eats crust up to this point says “Dad, i think i like pizza, the whole slice”. A single glistening tear slid down my face…. Thank you Roma! Roma’s didn’t just feed us. They restored us. Thank you for saving our night, our dignity, and possibly our faith in humanity.

First time eating from Roma's. Our family had the spaghetti and meatballs, the manicotti, stromboli, and steak subs the two times we ordered from here. We also had the garden salad. The food was excellent; cooked perfectly, and delicious. The garden salads were fresh with crispy lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onion, green pepper and cheese. During both visits the lady who took our order was friendly and conversational. The food was prepared in a timely manner; within 20 minutes each visit. We ordered out so we can't speak to the dining in experience, however, I did notice that the dining and kitchen area appeared clean and running efficiently as orders seemed to be filled quickly. The dining area was busy. We would highly recommend Roma's and will be choosing them during future visits to the area. Thanks to the Roma's staff for helping to make our first stay in the area a good one.

Not sure where the great reviews are coming from but I will not go back here. We ordered lasagna and what came out 30 minutes later was a bowl of sauce with two flat noodles in it. The waitress offered our $$ back but we were just disgusted after waiting so long. This is strike 3 for this place...a real shame, used to be great!

Absolutely delicious pizza! Perfectly crispy crust, great taste! Flavor is king here with the supreme , but the pepperoni was my favorite! There wasn’t much left over- but what was made for a great breakfast too!

If you like a thin and soggy crust as I do you will love this place! If not I would ask for well done maybe. Perfect amount of cheese and toppings. Delicious. The people at the counter could be a little more friendly IMO.

I’ve never been there but my boyfriend works in Corolla frequently and got me a slice of pepperoni pizza to bring home. Dare I say that it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had given it was ordered 4 hours before he got home given we live in Edenton? Absolutely and I’ve worked in more pizza restaurants than I care to share. Can’t wait to try more from here in the future, oh what a treat this was to come home to!!

Got pizza on our last night in the Outer Banks. Corolla Pizza was 5 mins away and the reviews were great. We heard that the deeper into summer you get, the longer wait times will be for pizza, which is completely understandable. Our wait time was just about an hour, which was fine because we had time for a house full of people to get off the beach or out of the pool and cleaned up. We picked up our pizza right on time and it was delicious. Perfect cheese-to-sauce ratio, not greasy, and the crust was perfect. We will definitely return! Also, when we picked it up, the counter person was telling customers ordering that the wait time was an hour and fifteen minutes. So plan accordingly!

After seeing the reviews for this place, I decided it would be worth a try. I skipped lunch, so I was starving and it was 3:30 after coming off the beach I called the restaurant at 3:45 and asked, was it too late to put my order in for them to make a sub before four and they were more than happy and willing and told me they will wait for me to get there. I drove up there in seven minutes and my son was handed to me and I brought it back home and it was one of the best subs I’ve ever had.

What a great find! It’s a sub shop but with a great menu. On our first visit I had a really good club sandwich and my wife loves the make your own salad, On the next visit I ordered their Reuben and I was asked “Do you want it the way we make it?”. Wasn’t sure what that meant but I said “Sure”. I’m glad I did because it was one of the best Reuben’s I have ever had! I needed multiple napkins because it was so full of meat, sauerkraut and sauce! The staff are very friendly and the place is kept clean and tidy. We will be going back on a regular basis!

I blacked out halfway through my sandwich and woke up in a state of bliss. Don’t ask what was on it—ask what it did to me. I tried saving half for later. I did not succeed. 10/10 would fail again. Love the girlies working

It's a diner, so the ambiance is fitting. I might have just found my new favorite sandwich. I ordered the chicken bacon chipotle sandwich.However, I had it made as a wrap. I also substituted mozzarella cheese for the pepper jack. The chipotle had an amazing flavor without adding heat to the sandwich. Delicious.

Ordered online and got the Italian subs. They were amazing! White bread was fresh and the condiments were of perfect proportions for my liking.

Pretty tasty food, even though everything had a bit kick to it, which wasn’t ideal for our kiddo. We sat outside, which wasn’t very casual and dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and professional. This place is busy and very popular!

We try to always get Shaka Taco when we visit Topsail Beach. This year, we ordered takeout for dinner, and it was extremely tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food (mostly bowls); my fish taco was very good, but it came in a distant second to my pork taco, which was spectacular. Ingredients are fresh and compliment their respective proteins. If you order for pick up, you go into the surf shop, so don't stand in line!

We wanted some fresh tacos for lunch! I had the pork and carne asada tacos. Fish, tuna, chicken, and some chicken nachos are also pictured. This place is super tasty and is right off of the beach. It was fresh and light, just what you want at the beach. I 100% recommend this place!

Shrimp tacos are always a go-to option here. There is a reason for the line during peak season because the food is always great. Highly recommend giving this place a try on your next visit to the Island.

Very casual and comfortable dining, you order from the window and they bring it to you, you can sit wherever! VERY delicious. I can the steak and shrimp tacos, they were gone before I even noticed. The drinks were good too!! My only qualm, I can’t get the name right. I feel like Shako Taco flows, or even Shaka Taka! The A and O combo messes with me (I’m just being silly, 10/10 recommend this place)

Actual best meal I had in surf city. Tacos were good. Got the shrimp. The quesadilla was also nice. Chicken was top notch but nothing special. The nachos. OMG. Got the veggie nachos add carne asada. The portion was huge, steak was amazing, and that cheese sauce was next to greatness. Atmosphere is also very nice. Fun place to go for sure

Great local pizza joint right in the heart of Southern Shores. Easy to get to and great food. The service was fast and staff were very friendly. We tried the White Pizza, it was absolutely amazing. Fresh and good ingredients. Prices were reasonable for the area. The inside was very nice and had plenty of seating. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

This was our last meal on the road trip back to reality, and it was a great one. The restaurant is really nice. Seating area was clean. My Philly and fries were amazing. The others got two pizzas, and they liked it as well. Great local spot.

The best pizza I have ever tried!!! The medium pizzas were huge!! We got the cheese, the works, and the meat eater. Definitely having leftover for the next day or two! Very kind staff and very quick service! Highly recommend!! The bathrooms were a little unclean and only one bathroom for everyone. Only downside.

The service was fast, and the food was delicious. Being from New Jersey, I wanted good pizza. This was a good pizza. The crust was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The cheese had a perfect pull, and it was perfectly greasy. My grandma got the Corolla salad, and she said it was the best bacon she ever tasted in her life. And the veggies were super fresh. My dad got the cheese steak, and he said it was delicious. This is the place to go for a quick, easy meal in the area. Plus, there is an ice cream shop next door for dessert. It's the perfect set up. I will definitely go again next time I'm in the area.

The new dine in area at southern shores pizza is awesome! The atmosphere is great. I got to enjoy a nice cold beer and watch golf on the big tv screens. Love this place!

We got the Sicilian meat lovers and the toppings were good. However the crust was burnt and virtually inedible. We ended up just eating the toppings off the crust. Overall it was disappointing and not worth the what we paid.

If you like small family owned diner style places you'll love this place. The service was 11/10. We walked in and the owner was immediately pushing tables together for us. So friendly. The food was delicious. I had a Bold Burger and chili cheese fries. Super tasty. Husband and kids had a variety of burgers and dogs, everyone was happy. Pretty inexpensive also for eating out. Make sure to check their hours and get there in time because you're gonna want to try it! They have indoor and outdoor eating areas as well as walk up ordering to-go.

Beaches Burgers, open between 11:00am-2:30pm. ⏰🚗 Closed Sundays. UPDATE: We visited a 2nd time this week while on vacation. This time I tried the Fried Bologna sandwich and the Philly Cheesesteak. The thick-cut, fried bologna is first deep-fried, then grilled, and served with your choice of toppings on Texas Toast. The cheesesteak was solid, too, served with grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and white American cheese on a chewy, crusty roll per proper Philly protocol. The Carolina dog and regular grilled hotdogs were just as good as last time. 👍😋

Wonderful burgers! We recently moved to the area and have been trying recommendations by the locals. This one did not disappoint. Friendly, quick service with an excellent burger & fries, A+ experience. We will definitely visit again.

Enjoyed this spot on a quick visit to Kitty Hawk. The two of us enjoyed the Endless Summer 16” pizza and were pleasantly surprised by the flavor combo. The tomatoes were perfectly ripe which is a gripe I often have with restaurant tomatoes. Would highly recommend! Also the leftovers microwaved perfectly 👌🏻

Pizza was excellent. Service was friendly, helpful and very quick, especially with how busy they were. No inside seating, but it was a beautiful evening and outside seating worked great. Prices were reasonable. The cheese bread was excellent, and all 4 custom pizzas were exactly as ordered.

Easy to access location with outside seating available. Ordered To Go! Reasonably priced. A Milky Way Pizza and an order of Dippers. The pizza was a tad greasy but overall a decent pie. Would have liked more Ricotta cheese provided the limited toppings and mozzarella base. After trying the marinara sauce with the dippers, I would definitely suggest a pie with a pizza sauce base. This sauce was far superior to “American Pies” pizza. Cheese Sticks were better at American Pie however. I’d put both pizza joints on par with each other and they are in relative close proximity.

This was one of the best pizza places I’ve been to in the OBX. It was so fresh, and overall delicious! I will definitely be coming here more often. Also, the girl at the counter was so kind. Also, the ROOT BEERS are fantastic. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!

The pizza was very good. It was super thin crust and thinly cheesed. It might have benefitted from being a little crisper. The "breadsticks" are basically just the pizza with no sauce. I don't think they have indoor seating, but you can order at the window and then eat in the outdoor area which has picnic tables. It is nicer than it sounds. Also, the person taking the order will ask if you want to put a tip on the card. Don't get me started on how stupid the concept of tipping is, but I always tip, but it is better to let the patron choose discreetly.

We had delivery so not sure about their atmosphere but the pizza and salad were fabulous. The delivery was fast and the driver personable and polite. Heartily recommend!

I ordered the espresso freeze and my husband ordered the caramello leche, and we thoroughly enjoyed them both. The barista was really friendly and the atmosphere is quite nice. It was our first stop in Southport after getting off the ferry and I'm glad we did.

I ordered a mocha latte with caramel... EXCELLENT. The atmosphere is very chill. The location is perfect. The cashier made a mistake and the gentleman making the coffee was so patient. We will return. We did not eat.

Best experience ever and this was my first time coming here. Awesome and warm staff made me feel welcomed. Got a large iced black and tan. It was so good it made Starbucks look like gas station coffee. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I have had burgers from all over the area, and this is the best. Well seasoned, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Prices are very fair for what you get. There is only outdoor seating, so nowhere to enjoy them on site on a rainy day but your car. We only come when it's sunny out so we can enjoy our burgers while they're hot at the picnic tables. It's worth a stop if you haven't been.

This burger is what you wish you could pump out on your grill at home. Messy in all the right ways, meat is seasoned nicely juicy and combined with great toppings. Theres a reason this place has stuck around for so long. You gotta try this out when down near the island!

After a hot and educating experience at fort anderson, Fat Andy’s was the perfect spot to stop for lunch. As we first pulled into the parking lot we were ready to eat. My crew got 3 cheeseburgers and 1 Big A, and the lady at the window was very helpful with explaining menu items. Our food came out fast and it was nice and hot. The burger was perfectly cooked and the thousand island sauce was very delectable. The fries were hot and crispy. All food on the table was gone in a jiffy. Only comment I have is that the parking lot wasn’t the biggest. I can see why Andy is fat. 😋

Absolutely amazing! First time getting Luigi’s. I was craving Sicilian and they did not disappoint. Very good pizza and great service! I ate two pieces on the way home. Plus- amazing prices. $25 for a whole Sicilian pie with onions and pepperoni.

New York pizza served fast, hot, and delicious! You can buy by the slice or a whole pizza. They use quality ingredients. The crust is perfect. The cheese steaks are good too. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are fair. I will be a repeat customer.

I’ve been a couple times now and yet to be disappointed. Good pizza, quick and courteous staff, and great salads. Parking is plentiful and the menu is what you’d expect from a New York style pizza place.

Head over heels in love with this place, I wish I didn’t live so far from the beach, because I would come here everyday for a coffee and a good book. Their prices are amazing, I got so many books for such a great bargain. Their cookies and coffee is delicious. The overall atmosphere is sooooo cute and homey. The staff is so friendly and welcoming! I love, love this place!

Really love this place. My kids loved it as little kids and they still love going with their teenage/young adult friends. Cozy, unique, quiet and engaging atmosphere. Always something to see. My kids used to love trying on the closet of 'dress up' clothes. Now they enjoy getting a special Italian soda or coffee and looking thru all the books. So many treasures here. A great way to get a break from the sun or rain. Grab a cost seat and enjoy.

I LOVE this place! My family and I stopped by multiple times during our vacation this weekend. The owner and employees were very personable and customized our drinks to our preference- they were all delicious! We loved going upstairs and sitting amongst the books to relax. Great variety of adult and kid books. We will definitely be back!

I love this shop and visit it every year when the family goes to Topsail for vacation. Good coffee and baked goods (try the jam bars!), but the real treasure is the labyrinthine mix of used books, art, and local goods in the space. You will definitely find texts here you can't get anywhere else. Why only 4 stars? Some of the book pricing feels a bit too much of a cash grab. Of course this is a business, making money is the point, but charging $10 a pop for vintage scifi less than half an inch thick that's moldering away leaves a bit of a sour taste. These generally aren't well-known authors, and collector value in my (perhaps uninformed) opinion is pretty low. The bookshelves are overflowing, which may add to the treasure-hunt feel, but it would be easier to shop it if everything fit on their shelves in the normal fashion rather than being piled everywhere. The piles of books have also cut into the very limited seating. I think if they're going to continue being a café as well as a used bookstore they should make sure their tables and chairs remain usable. Unfortunately, some of the book inventory is simply not priced to move; it gives the implication that someone would rather store it indefinitely vs selling it for less than they think it's worth. I actually found one with what seemed to be old mouse droppings between some pages; it's clear that whoever acquires/curates the used books needs to pay more attention to what goes on the sale floor. While I agree that haggling at a small local business is in tasteless, the sign against it doesn't give the friendliest of vibes when you walk in the store. Some sort of bulk discount for used books might be nice, and would help them clear more space, but asking would almost certainly run afoul of the no haggling rule ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

I absolutely love this shop. I could spend all day just browsing around, unfortunately my husband would definitely get tired of waiting. Such a unique shop with a huge selection of used books and great prices. Takes me back in time...They also have coffee and fresh pastries. Can't wait to visit again.

I really wanted to like this spot. But it was quite overpriced for the used books and other items. I find Goodwill, Salvation Army or even eBay to be more affordable. It’s also overwhelmingly cluttered (likely due to not selling enough books/items regularly - because it’s so $$$) Coffee was decent. Baked goods were ok. Gal at front serving coffee, however, was not friendly.

I am not from this area, and my first impression was that this was a cash only, limited hours, version of waffle House. It looks like a waffle house on the inside, only very much smaller with a much broader menu. I have to say the eggs are definitely a lot fluffier and creamier than waffle house. The sausage was just about the same as was the toast and the potatoes. Obviously, a local place with a local vibe and that’s cool. I took my order to go because there was no seating available during the weekend.

My wife and I love looking for those little "hole in the wall" type restaurants that aren't part of any franchises. Goody Goody is a real gem. Family run for 48 years, these guys have it right and if you like fluffy omlets, this place has the fluffiest. Hash browns were jamming too! All so good. If you get the chance sit at the counter so you can watch the chefs. They have it down to an art. Get there early, it fills up fast.

But, if so, your love for Southern cooking 🍳 will thank you. The entire staff is very welcoming & friendly. The one family waiting in line outside the front door happily let us pass and directed us to 2 open seats at the counter. We arrived for a late breakfast after the morning rush. The menu was chock full of breakfast favorites, from pancakes 🥞 and waffles 🧇, to eggs 🍳, omelettes, biscuits, specialty hash browns, and even liver pudding. We ordered the peaches 🍑 and cheese 🧀 omelette, which, as advertised, was soft & fluffy as a cloud and richly flavorful, with tangy grilled peaches combined with gooey, savory Swiss cheese. The homemade biscuits are baked to *perfection* and can't be found at corporate restaurants. The fruit-topped pancakes topped with peaches & whipped cream were excellent, too. 👌 Just as impressive as the food was the warm, friendly, family-like atmosphere. The whole staff worked together as a team like a well-oiled machine. The patrons were happy. The wait staff were smiling. The cooks took pride in their work, efficiently cranking out orders and keeping their respective stations clean each step of the way. Overall, "Just Good Food", just the same way, since 1977! 😋

My absolute A-1 favorite breakfast spot of all time. It's a MUST every time I visit Wilmington, and it NEVER disappoints. The omelets are fluffy, the coffee is gross in the best way, the biscuits are second-to-none (and they are GENEROUS with them), and the vibe of the place is a throwback to a simpler time. Actually the best omelet I've ever had. So buttery and soft. Wasn't a big fan of the sausage links or coffee. Service and prices were great.

There's not enough of what I can say about Bennett's Grill & Cafe. Right away, I heard K-love radio. I saw signs of inspiration. The employees were extremely accommodating. The food was exceptional. The outside "beach feel" was an added bonus for picture taking. Loved it!!!

Bennetts is fantastic. The prices are great and the food is wonderful. Burgers, Seafood, everything we tried was excellent. The slaw is some of the best I’ve had. 10/10 would recommend.

10/10 We were talking about coming back to eat here before we had even finished our food; it was so tasty! The fries are some of the best french fries we’ve ever had! The burgers were also super tasty! Also the people working there were SO nice!! While we were waiting in line the guy who was running food orders out offered us a menu to look at and was overall just nice person!! The girl working the register was also super nice and helpful! We can’t wait to come back!

Why wait for hours to get a table at the boundary house and others down the calabash strip when you can get just about everything here!? The food here is as good as it gets for the calabash area. I'm pretty picky about tartar sauce but this place has the best I've had. Hush puppies 10/10 fried shrimp 10/10 deviled crab 10/10! Plus they have cheerwine at the fountain machine. Great spot to get your seafood fix without breaking the bank!

Stopped by for lunch and got a cheeseburger with grilled onions and French fries. Price was reasonable, coming just under $13 for the two. I would not recommend the burger. Honestly one of the worst burgers I've had. There was not a sprinkle of any seasoning on it, it tasted frozen, and the burger had absolutely no flavor (even with cheese and onion). It was a squishy-damp burger. The only saving grace were the fries: they were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I can't speak on anything else at the restaurant but I would not recommend the burgers.

Anything you order from here is delicious from their cheeseburgers, hot dogs, 🍟 fries, fried chicken, chicken fingers, and the seafood is great! If you haven't ever tried Bennett's Grill and Cafe, you are missing out on some delicious food. Regardless of what you order, it is all good! So do yourself a favor and add Bennett's to your list of places to try. You will not regret it, I promise you that.

It’s a locally owned/operated burgers/fish/BBQ/ etc place. Limited indoor seating with large outdoor seating in a covered area with picnic table type seating. As a group of 3-5 adults, we have enjoyed most, if not all, of the menu offerings. The food seems to be prepared after the order is placed, but that does not mean long wait times. The staff is very efficient and super friendly. We have never had a meal there that was not delicious, served hot, and in ample portions. The fish platters are available in a regular and seniors portions, priced accordingly. The shrimp served is not the tiny “popcorn” size served at other Calabash places, they are truly bite-size. Delicious food at reasonable prices, with excellent service. Next door is the Brunswick County Senior Resources Service thrift shop, probably largest in the area

MUST STOP!! This is the most welcoming, kind, and wonderful breakfast stop. You come in as strangers and leave feeling like family. The food is fresh and delicious. The food comes second to the service and atmosphere. Christina is one of the kindest and most genuine souls I have ever met. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

A historic spot downtown Kinston. Obviously, it's a local favorite. The folks that work there are super friendly and courteous. They engage in conversation with you. I sat near the front entrance and as patrons entered, many were greeted by name. Some even got a hug. Prices here are very reasonable. A couple of the locals even greeted me as they walked by my table. I had something very simple. A biscuit with sausage gravy and corned beef hash. The gravy was creamy and had a nice buttery flavor. The hash wasn't the best I've had but it was decent. If you want to experience true southern hospitality along with southern cooking, stop by Lovick's

Why I never ate at Lovick’s Cafe over the last 40 years is beyond me. We stopped in on a Thursday morning and had to wait for a table. The outside of the place has been restored and expanded over the years, but the atmosphere still has the original feel too it. The food was hot and fresh and the service was great! I got one of the famous “dough burgers” like my wife’s grandmother used to make for us. It was all a great experience. I recommend you check it out next time you are in Kinston, NC.

This is a cute little restaurant in a strip mall but it is fantastic. Service is great and so very friendly. Food is fantastic…only have been for breakfast but have been a repeat visitor on a number of occasions. Very affordable as well. Give these folks a visit (even if they seem to pull for Duke 😝)

This is one of the best burgers I have ever had! Eric is quite literally the nicest, most genuine human on Earth, too. All of the staff are amazing, food is great, atmosphere is nostalgic. No-frills delicious grill food. CASH ONLY but there is an ATM in the restaurant if you need it. You will NOT be disappointed. Let's go Duke!!

I've had lunch at Eric's before but forgot to review and take a picture of that fabulous burger! I took my daughter there today for breakfast and it was great. The staff are very friendly and personable. They welcomed us when we came in, asked how everything was when we got our food and thanked us when we left. There's memorabilia all over the place, which gives it a great atmosphere and allows you to briefly forget that you are at the coast.

The town's premier crack-of-the-dawn rapid-order diner! Cheese omelets cooked in a flash before 6am! Nothing like sitting down for the very surprise. Go and try! Servicing is flawless and down-home, with authentic food and "mostly" local people. Don't imagine yourself waiting inside a museum if you haven't visited: the food arrives too quickly! Needs: Menu variety, but we can't machine the man!

Once again a great experience for me and the family. Eric's has a great family atmosphere with delicious breakfast and lunch. The staff is very friendly and the kids love looking at all of the sports memorabilia.

The moment I opened the door I immediately knew I’d chosen the right spot for lunch by the line all the way to it! This place is inside a Walmart shopping center although you’d swear you were downtown somewhere in the mid 90s once inside which was one of my favorite things about it. The owner was manning the grill himself like it should be turning out orders every few minutes! My lunch consisted of Bacon Cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, the burger was very filling I’d guess 1/4LB or so it didn’t have as much smash/sear as I’d typically prefer but is a great burger nonetheless and the chili cheese fries were amazing! Eric has built an awesome business, greeting customers by name, definitely worth trying if you’re in the Southport/Oak Island Area!!!

Eric’s grille is a staple of Southport and is a classic American burger place. They don’t need fancy toppings or anything, it’s just a simple well made burger. It’s very clean, the staff is excellent, and it has classic Americana decorations.

This restaurant is one of my go-to places when I want a quick, easy, and really satisfying Burger/Grilled Chicken Sandwich and fries. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich is actually my favorite menu item. It has a great grilled flavor and is usually cooked perfectly. I get cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo, pickles & onion on it. I get a side of honey mustard and chili to dip my fries in. No, not together with the Honey Mustard and Chili. I dip in them separately. Both are so good it's hard not to have both. The fries are delicious. They season them really well with lemon, pepper, and salt. The Burgers are also good. It seems to me the Burgers are probably frozen patties, but they may not be. I am just assuming based on my taste, but I could be wrong. There are two Burger sizes. Both come with fries and a drink. Their lemonade is delicious. The service is excellent. You order by filling out an ordering ticket that has the menu listed on it. You pay after your meal, so hold onto your ordering slip. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you eat outdoors, you can order at the window on the side of the building. This is a must-try if you visit or live in the area.

PTs is a routine stop for me for a quick bite. If you are not familiar, just fill out a paper ticket with your order and they will get your drink right then and there. Save your ticket and pay after you eat. Love their service and friendliness. If I'm being honest, it's a good burger but not a great burger. Always cooked well done. The chicken sandwich is the way to go, very moist and juicy. The fries are great as well, sometimes you get a load of ends/nubs, just ask for another batch. They come out and get refills for you and you always feel welcome here. There's a few tables outside that are nice to sit St when the shade hits right. All in, the price is fair, with fries and a drink included.

Service is great and the atmosphere is nice and homey. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that all burgers are cooked well-done with no option on the fill in menu for other prep levels (medium rare is the best option).

We perused Red Robin, Five Guys and this place was highly rated on Google Reviews, it’s staff were welcoming just walk up to the counter and like an old country store grab an order book and tick off what you want and how you want it. Their way is simple and yet effective. Non pretentious atmosphere prices include fries and beverage. Give it a go, you too will like it.

I had the old fashioned burger, it was fantastic. Tasted exactly how a good burger should. Fries were great, well seasoned, and were potato fries. Nothing negative to say about the place. I will be back.

Go to Sam’s instead. I won’t ever visit this location due to poor customer service. I’m standing there with my order ready, next in line, and was completely ignored. Another customer walks in behind me, the employee with a beanie gives him a fist bump and asks what he can get for him. I’m literally standing right in front of him, no acknowledgement whatsoever. I walked out. No one there cares.

come here almost every sunday with family and it always hits the spot. the food is always so good and fresh. a perfect place for a quick and easy dinner or a filling meal after the beach. the fries are sooo good love the seasoning and their always so good fresh and hot. super cute restaurant too with really nice staff. love this place 🍔

Kai-Joe’s is the best restaurant in town. Wish I had been there sooner on my trip. We’ve now been multiple times on our trip and their food is consistent and delicious and reasonably priced in comparison to most of the other restaurants in town. Even though dining is outdoors and the flies can be annoying the overall vibe is fantastic.

Came here to try something different on the island and it did not disappoint. The Shrimp Nachos were phenomenal. The Quesadilla was superb and the fish/shrimp tacos were exceptional. The service was great. We went for lunch which seems like a great time to go. Would highly recommend the nachos and/or the quesadilla.

Stopped by today for some Tacos. Tried the North Shore ones and the Firecracker Nachos. Both were really flavorful. The nachos were my favorite. Lots of Old Bay on the shrimp, and plenty of cheese on the bottom. They weren't like most places where they only put the ingredients on top and then the last half are just plain chips. The only knock on the place was I wish they had more flavors of Jarritos (only had Pineapple and grapefruit when I went).

Had such high hopes for this place as it was recommended by a good friend and most reviews were pretty good and I'm always looking for an awesome taco place. First off, the wait was ridiculous! When I arrived there were maybe 6-8 people in front of me in line. It took 30-40 minutes before I was able to even put in our order. This was mainly due to the fact that they would close the order window every 3-4 orders so the kitchen could catch up. I've never seen a place do this. Maybe they were short staffed? But, I saw at least 6 people "working" in the back. Finally, I was able to put in our order and waited another 40 mins for our food. Meanwhile, I watched at least 15 people come, they would wait, and then they would leave because the wait was so long. We finally got our food and I made sure everything was there, which it was, which was good. But, I mentioned to the guy how long the wait was and all the people I saw abandoning ship in line and he just gave me a weak smile and said “thanks.” He didn't really seem to care so, home I went with our food. I wouldn't have cared so much about the arduous wait if the food was at least decent. It was not. The Kai-Joe beef taco was dry and lacked any flavor or toppings for that matter. The Papa Joe fish taco was mushy and, holy cow!, so fishy that you couldn't taste anything else, plus it lacked the fruit salsa and slaw it was supposed to come with. The shrimp was weird, like it was microwaved or something, not nicely grilled, and the slaw was limp, no crunch or freshness to it. Now that I think of it, they mixed up the fish taco and the shrimp taco and put the fish taco toppings on the shrimp taco and vice versa. The side of chips were soggy or stale and also had no seasoning to them. The only thing that was any good, and the reason for 2 stars, were the side of black beans. We wished we got of those because none of us finished our food. So, long story longer, we will not go back here. Do not recommend until many things improve. You can't blame it on them being new because this place has been open now for many years. Kind of seems like they've done what every other Oak Island restaurant does, start strong, then apathy or burnout occurs and it goes way down hill. So, disappointing. I love tacos and was very much looking forward to having a go-to taco place in Oak Island but, this is not it by a longshot.

Great food and solid pricing! Some outdoor seating and a good amount of parking. Lines may be a little long but its definitely worth it, without a doubt.

I ordered the North Shore shrimp tacos and man were they good! Just the right amount of sauce and Asian slaw, and the shrimp was nice and diced up to perfection! Also pictured is the Avo Bites - deep fried avocado, never had anything like it 10/10

Have been wanting to try Kai-Joe's since the first time I saw it. The atmosphere is the perfect beach setting, walk up window, cheerful smiling staff, and the smell... oof it get's your mouth watering. We had a large order as we were getting takeout for a large family. My husband forgot to get his dad's tacos on corn tortillas (Gluten Sensitive), the owner very nicely made them again on corn tortillas, and then even gave us the extra tacos, so generous. The portions were more than generous as well. I had the Firecracker Shrimp Nachos, they were not overly spicy, they were dripping in queso and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. We ate at a different place on Oak Island every evening we were there and Kai-Joes definitely takes the cake for the best spot on Oak Island. I wish I would've grabbed some pictures of my food before I gobbled it up, but it was just too good!

Ordered a bowl online. Got home and this was how much they filled it up. Thought this wasn’t chipotle but I guess I was wrong. Called and they couldn’t do anything unless I drove 15 mins back to the store. Will probably skip out on the Hampstead location and go to the surf city location where the workers won’t skimp out on portions.

I got the cod s-turn burrito. It was delicious. The employees were patient and courteous. The dining room was clean. My wife got one of their bowls and it was good too.

Love Burrito Shak. Food is fresh and delicious and you decide what’s on your burrito or in your bowl. I use their App to order. It’s very convenient.

Great food but the short girl with darker hair will hustle you if you're not careful. She put barely any chips in the bag and then when I asked for more she tried to charge me extra! I get a lot of food there for my wife and it's always great!!! The service is really good too and the amount of chips is perfect with no hesitation when you ask for more. Except for this girl, yall be careful if she's on the register. I've attached a photo of the original amount of chips she gave me before I asked for another bag that she tried to charge me for.
