Had the most delicious omakase at Kame sushi. Sushi and sashimi were very fresh. Reservation process was easy online. Staff were very welcoming and chef explained the dishes as best as he could in English. Overall a lovely experience.

We loved Kame Sushi! As a couple of western tourists, the regional areas of Japan can be intimidating because of the language barrier and not being familiar with the local customs, but we felt so welcome as soon as we arrived here. But more importantly, the food was incredibly delicious! Possibly the best sushi we’ve had on our trip. The host was a very warm and kind woman who made us feel at home, her staff were very attentive and the chef is a master. Highly recommend!

It was my first experience to try sushi 8 years ago in Japan. I remember whole dinning experience was spectacular. Finally I managed to come back after a long time. Kame sushi brought the unforgettable memories.. Despite it was only a time, Chef still remembers where I was from and where I used to work before.. it is true Japanese hospitality. Best Sushi I have had so far! Rather in the higher priceclass, but definitely worth it! 10 pieces for 4000 yen. The chef spoke a bit English and they also had an English menu. Staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend.

This was one of the best meals of my entire life. The chef is incredibly talented, fusing French and Japanese cuisine seamlessly to create the absolutely most delicious, beautiful food I’ve ever eaten. Each dish was amazing in its own right, but when the meal is taken together, it becomes something extraordinary. Plus, the restaurant itself is so well designed and cozy and husband/wife duo extremely friendly with top notch service. I can’t wait to go back, again and again! They deserve many Michelin stars!!

My wife and I enjoyed an exquisite dinner here in June 2024 after it was recommended by the ryokan we were staying in. One of our best meals in Japan! Highly recommend to anyone who is staying anywhere nearby (it’s worth a trip to get here). We had the pleasure of dining at Enuma Station on a very snowy January evening and our experience eclipsed many a top table around the world (on all fronts). Omotenashi at its best - highly recommend even if a detour.

Was recommended to come here by a local cafe owner and it was seriously the best decision ever. You may think that French food does not match with the Yamanaka Onsen area, however the reason that we come to onsens is for tranquility and rest. I can say that my experience here has been the most peaceful with the lovely interior, calm jazz music and warm lights. Moreover, I felt so blessed seeing the chef right in front of my eyes preparing each dish so carefully. Dishes were absolutely delicious with everything being constructed from scratch, the sauces, the drinks, even the bread!!! We had a five course here and every dish had the ingredients so beautifully prepared, the soup was especially delicious and so so creamy. The couple that works here are so nice and the wife even helped to show us good public onsens in the area and recommend some craft shops to visit when she heard we were looking to buy some authentic Japanese kutaniyaki and lacquerware dishes. Truly so so humbled that a place like this exists in a little town and can say that Japan never ceases to amaze me with the little surprises hidden in every corner.

The people who run the place are very kind and attentive, and we felt at ease right away. On both nights, we started with a delicious and fresh sashimi platter. We highly recommend their grilled fish, which we had on both nights and both grilled to perfection.
