The 50 best breakfast and brunch in Kyushu

Delicious Mini Croissants! Buttery and soft on the inside, perfectly flaky on the outside—a great-tasting croissant! We tried all their flavors, and every single one was good. They’re on the smaller side (mini croissants), but the flavor more than makes up for the size. Surprisingly, they still tasted amazing even the next day. The line was quite long, but it moved efficiently and was well-organized. Keep in mind it’s located in a very busy train station, so expect a crowd. All in all, definitely a must-try!

Forever got queue. Because we have a Mini One and Four Leaves back home, the concept is not new to us. But we still try la. There are two counters serving different flavours/fillings, so pick your fave and line up accordingly. We made a total of 3 visits, trying all flavours and then picking the best ones to tabao home. From our observation, the most popular is plain flavour while our favourite is the mentaiko one (no surprises there) The bite sized snack is a good buy before you head off for your day's journey.

The mini croissants are only so-so actually. The 4star rating, for me personally, is for the Red Bean sesame ball, which just tastes amazing. We have this where we are from , but it's not as good. The sesame ball is packed with delicious red bean inside and coated with loads of sesame on the outside of the corn starch shell. Small little shop in hakata station, near the shinkanzen ticket office, with hardly any queue. The long queue is for the croissant stall next door.

At first we thought the price is per piece, but it’s actually per grams. It’s plenty enough for the price and for the taste, it’s totally worth it. No wonder people are lining up and waiting because the croissants are so great. Whenever we go back to our hotel during our Fukuoka travel, we always buy here. The place is very accessible since it’s inside JR Hakata station which is also amazing. Totally recommended.

Right in the heart of Hakata station, you will always see long line-ups queuing at this store. The freshly baked crossaints come in various flavors and are popular amongst the locals as well. The cost is fair as they average a bit over 200yen per 100g. Unfortunately, they separate the different flavors in 2 different lines. If you are looking to purchase all the flavors you will need to line up twice.

Seeing a constant bustling line, I decided to try it out. Bought 5 for 323 yen (weighed by grams). They have 3 flavours: plain, chocolate, and sweet potato. Well the verdict? I suppose years of eating true French croissants with quality beurre have changed my palate. Here they make a sweet batter for the croissants and even the plain flavour had an unexpected and unwanted sweetness to it with a mass production palate. The best flavour for me was chocolate as it tasted akin to a pain au chocolat. Plain was strange tasting to me and sweet potato filling was not suited to my taste either. This one’s not for me.

My last taste of bills was a cherished memory from Australia, over ten years ago. In all that time, I never forgot the sheer comfort of their famously fluffy pancakes and those incredible corn fritters. Visiting bills Fukuoka felt like a long-awaited homecoming. Naturally, I had to order the exact same classics that stole my heart a decade prior. The cloud-like pancakes and the corn fritters tasted just as phenomenal. It was incredibly satisfying to find the quality perfectly consistent after all this time. That iconic bills taste was wonderfully, reassuringly familiar. Yes, we did queue for about 20 minutes on a busy morning but it was absolutely worth the wait. The anticipation only made that bite of pancake even sweeter. The atmosphere was buzzing but welcoming, and the service was efficient once seated.

I had Bills once when visiting Sydney in 2018. I liked it a lot. It was a pleasant surprise to know that there is Bills in Fukuoka. I told my husband that I wanted to try Bills in Japan, so we came for breakfast on an early Saturday morning. We got seated immediately without a reservation. The restaurant is beautiful, stylish with comfy seatings and relaxing vibe. We ordered the Ricotta hotcake, avocado with toasted Pain Stock sourdough, Yame matcha latte and koji milk spiced chai tea. Everything was absolutely amazing. I appreciated that our server told us in advance there would be a 20 minutes wait for the hotcake. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

It’s not easy to find a restaurant where you may enjoy a full yummy breakfast and good quality coffee. In Japan, you may find good coffee, but they don’t serve full breakfast at the same time. So happy to dine in Bills where I get all I want. Good quality of everything.

Servers asked for allergy and missed it in food- forgot about the drink we ordered as well. Usually a little more lenient but had high expectations as the food was super expensive. Portion size and quality of food did not justify prices. All drinks were above 1000 yen as well- everything was so expensive but nothing lived up to expectations the price. We got the ricotta hot cakes which were raved about and the fresh Aussie plate with the sourdough and some garlic mushrooms. I am lactose intolerant and the bread had butter on it and the mushrooms were greasily soaked in butter. Everything had cilantro on it as well, but was not listed in the menu. The butter was also not listed in anyway on the menu about the mushrooms. Overall a disappointing visit and would never go back again.

Probably the best breakfast place I’ve found in all of Fukuoka after living here for 3 years. The pancakes are amazing. Fluffy. Got a full banana tucked underneath them to rest peacefully before it enters my mouth. The smoothie was great. The Aussie plate was a beast. Lots of food too. Japan often times has small portions. This had me full. Definately pricier than other places but it’s worth it. S’good!

Came here for the hype. When we arrived there’s a short queue. Waited for 5 minutes for a table. Friendly service by the wait staff. Ordered avocado toast and also their famous fluffy pancakes with banana. 20 minutes wait for the pancakes. To be honest for the exorbitant price, food didn’t taste great. Just mediocre at best. 950yen for a cup of latte. Ridiculous. Tourist trap place.

Outstanding! The best pancakes I’ve ever had - worth every penny! The pancakes are larger and more filling than they look in photos, but you’ll still be left craving more. The latte was super good, and the full Aussie breakfast was phenomenal. The two plates together are a perfect balance between savory and sweet. We make another reservation before we left :)

The 牛たん朝定食(明太子セット) was disappointing. Even though I usually enjoy beef tongue, its distinctive aroma didn’t suit my taste, and the 明太子 was the same. Payment is accepted in cash, IC cards, and EMV contactless methods (e.g., Apple Pay, Google Pay).

We underestimated the queue next door and made a contingency plan to switch breakfast plan to Hakata Tanya. Tanya basically means the house of tongue, specialising in gyutan cuisine. We ordered the beef tongue set and grilled pork set. If I recall correctly, we could not do a add on for grilled pork. The add on for beef tongue is not cheap either. Most diners get the beef tongue set which comes with barley rice, beef soup, vegetable and lemon wedge. Barley rice is refillable and you help yourself to coffee around the corner. As expected, the meat is of high quality and the beef soup was clear yet full bodied. During morning service, we queued for a short while. Patrons are mostly salaryman or locals heading for their train journey after reading their newspapers.

A wonderful breakfast! Arrived at 930a Sunday morning with just a 10 minute wait for one. Staff is friendly and managed thebquick moving line. The menu is available in English and ordered the small beef tongue set, which you can have add one but I just stuck to the basics. It was delicious and a good value. Those next to me had extras like the raw egg. A low key vibe and a quick in and out meal. Recommended if you're a beef tongue fan, it was grilled perfectly and you can order extra to go. Tip: for those confused like me, you have to go down to theblower level to find the place! Enjoy!

I went for breakfast around 9.30am and was relieved that the queue was short (it grew considerably long after I was seated!). While a few beef tongue slices were a bit tough for my liking, I left feeling satisfied. The barley rice, mixed with grated yam, then topped with a bit of seasoned mentaiko and a slice of beef, was so satisfying! Don’t miss adding the mentaiko tororo set to your beef tongue set 😋

Stopped by Tanya at Hakata Station and really enjoyed it! The beef tongue was tender and nicely seasoned, cooked just right with that perfect bit of chew. The set meal came with good sides and rice, making it a satisfying and well-balanced meal. The staff were friendly and service was quick, even though it was busy. The only downside was that portions felt a little small for the price, but overall it’s a tasty and convenient stop if you’re craving good gyutan in Fukuoka.

We arrived at 11am and were fortunate to skip the queue. The beef tongue was pretty good, with the thin slices outshines the thick ones. There was a queue shortly after we sat down, to be honest this place isn’t entirely worth the wait

Got the ox tongue bento to go. The ox tongue was a bit too chewy for my taste, wish they were more tender. The coleslaw was very refreshing, I like a lot :) Staff were very nice during the transaction.

Start at 630am. Good place to grab and gp if you have flights to catch. Also good to buy for breakfast to eat in hotel. Good selection of bread and croissants. Curry donut is heavenly. Will be back for more

"You cannot alter your fate, my princess. However, you can rise to meet it, if you choose." I was hankering for pastries at Hakata Train Station after reconnecting with Samurai family in Kyushu. Trandor caught my eye with long lines and a myriad of selection! I found out it was part of the iconic Andersen Bakery company known worldwide. Anytime I go to a bakery I will always pickup savory and sweet and the only difficult part was choosing which pastry I wanted - all looked amazing! And to clarify it's "TRAINDOR", not like it really matters what it's called, just know this spot is fantastic! I ended up with a hotdog and two fruit danishes! I also added a small carton of Fukuoka milk! The hotdog was like a bratwurst and so delicious. The sausage was juicy as it exploded in my mouth with each bite... oh my! The fruit danishes were incredible as well, I especially enjoyed the berry one! Oishii! Prices were fair and employees nice. In the end, I highly recommend TRAINDOR at the Hakata Station. Traindor, hehe, what a cute name. No, the doors to the bakery will not close on you. As it is with bakeries in Japan, we are awed by the variety of fresh bakes here, including the seasonal ones. You can eat a bread for every meal for the whole time you are here and still be unable to try every bread. The prices are similar to what we get back home, but you get quality bakes with some still warm from just coming out of the oven. Best eaten fresh immediately when you head for your transportation or heating up using toaster oven.

I was beckoned to this little slice of heaven by an invisible hand you'll remember from Saturday morning cartoons. Everything is made fresh and absolutely delicious! There's something for everyone, especially if you need an excuse to fall off the diet wagon.

Bought their bread before get into the train in the morning. They have so many various of bread, all looked delicious. I tried their Cream Cheese and Raisins bread for ¥280 and Hokkaido Milk Bread for ¥302. The cream cheese one was a little hard, but I like the savoury, sweet and sour’s flavor combination. The milk bread was perfect, it was big, so soft, fluffly, not to sweet.

Nice bakery in the Hakata JR station - close by the shinkansen entrance gate. Fresh baked bread in the morning and they have a variety of bread, pastries, white toast, and my favorite is the curry bread. Reasonable prices and quite busy with customers but the staffs are efficient at the checkout counters.

Many breads have a strong buttery taste.I was able to purchase one for around 300 yen. The melon bread was very delicious. I recommend it.

A Local Pancake cafe which serves hotcake. I ordered a Pancake set with seasonal fruits. The pancake is quite firm and rich in egg flavor, however it does not come with butter and the pancake itself is not buttery. The honey is not very sweet and can be mixed with pancake and yogurt served alongside. The fruits are quite fresh but it seems not very match with the pancake as lemon and other sour-based fruits are selected. The environment of the cafe is quite lush and decorated with woods. The service is quite standard but it seems the waiters are not that friendly towards foreigners.

An amazing place to have a sweet or savoury treat! Ordered the "Croque Madame Pancake" a most delicious pancake dish that includes bechamel sauce, thinly sliced ham (prosciutto perhaps...?), a sprinkle of grated parmesan and a sunny side up egg served with a small pot of honey. For drinks we enjoyed the seasonal special, "Shine Muscat Juice" and a cup of the store's signature blend "Hand Drip Coffee Medium Roast". Coming from Australia, my dining partner can be a bit picky about their coffee-- They commented that the blend here is _so_ smooth and delicious with none of the usual bitterness of a standard black coffee so it was very very enjoyable! The store is much larger than it appears from the outside, there are 3 floors of seating available and there was no wait to enter and be seated when we visited on a Tuesday around 1:30pm.

It is a beautiful three stories building. However, it looks like that at least during the breakfast you can be seated only on the first floor. I ordered a walnut adzuki paste pancake set. The walnut adzuki paste was delicious. I could eat just it without anything else. The pancake was okay but not hot, even the butter wasn't melting. The morning set is served with a drink. I ordered a cup of hot coffee and asked to serve it at the same time with the food. My coffee was served 10 minutes earlier and was barely warm when the food arrived. It was extremely annoying!!!

Popped into Shirogane Sabo and felt like I walked into someone’s cozy home with a cute Japanese garden So peaceful I didn’t wanna leave! I got the original pancake and a matcha latte everything just worked. Pancake was thick and super filling (one plate full for the whole morning!🤣) Matcha latte was smooth, not too sweet, and smelled sooo good Plus there’s a shelf full of food books!? Love that. Perfect spot to chill, read, and just vibe.🥞🍵

I think the inside of the cafe has a really nice aesthetic and it’s nice to sit in. But the meal was just average. I was kinda disappointed that my eggs Benedict pancake came out with a hard boiled egg instead of a poached egg. Also it took 30 minutes to come out and was room temperature :/ but the coffee was nice

We stopped by this beautiful Starbucks designed by architect Kengo Kuma when visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived so I really enjoyed it here. It’s much better than the Starbuck in traditional house in Kyoto imo. I loved that it is much spacious and aesthetic. Service was warm and fast. I got the yuzu citrus tea, matcha latte ( matcha made in Japan) in Venti, and sweet potato malasada. Both drinks were so delicious.

This Starbucks outlet has a very unique design so unlike other outlets. It has a lot of wooden beams placed along its roof and sides. Maybe due to its uniqueness, it’s so crowded, finding a seat at peak time is impossible. The staff even mixed up my order with another similar order, maybe too stress out from so many non stop orders. They hardly have time to clean up the seats. 🤪 a victim of its social media popularity 😉 i would just recommend a visit to see the design as the drinks are the same as other Starbucks.

Interesting architecture that stood out along the street. But way too crowded and hard to find seats for a family of 5. Staff were friendly and handed out drip coffee samples to promote their Jpn-ltd edn drip coffee glassware! Seasonal earl grey floral frappucino was unique.. but the hojicha latte lacked the richness as compared to Teavana at Hakata central.

Special Starbucks with wood as the theme, there's special cups made by local artist which is solely for this shop. Love it.

We came here as it is supposedly have a good view of the lake. Boy, were we so wrong…… the place is jammed packed with crowds and all the lake facing seats were taken. It’s still early morning and a weekday???? Oh well, the drinks are good as ever but the noise level is way too loud. Not much privacy here so not conducive for a date here. I guess too many read about this place and all decided to come here 🤪 it would be perfect if it’s less crowded.

We love the place. It has a very nice location (inside Ohori Park). The staff are nice and friendly, easy to talk to. The Blueberry Cream Cheese Doughnut and Uji Matcha Cheesecake that we ordered is really delicious. The coffee is perfect and the smoothie that we got is really good too (i just forgot the name of the smoothie ☺️). I bought some Starbucks souvenir too.

Iconic Starbucks in Japan, located within Ohori park in Fukuoka. We visited this restaurant for breakfast during our stay in city . Car park was a distance away from the café and took us about 15 to 20 minutes but it was a scenic walk. Not a really big cafe but there were alfresco seats outside the cafe allowing patrons to enjoy a great view with their cafe. It was a good experience, feeling the peace early in the morning. As for the food, the taste was pretty standard as to what you will get at Starbucks cafe.

Fantastic location, quietly located in the park. Superb architecture design, I like the windows at ground level on the rear side. The menu is typical of a modern Starbucks. Great service as expected in a Japanese Starbucks which is the main reason to go to a Starbucks beside the prime location. This store is pretty busy on a sunny day but still a great place to sip a cuppa in front of the lake.

I mean very well located, good to have a drink to enjoy in the park, but always too crowded, I used to go there for doing some computer work. When I need some quick coffee next to the park why not but I don't recommend to go in the weekend in the crowed hours because no seats available

We have attended the New Years buffet almost every year for awhile now, and it has always been good. Unfortunately, this year was disappointing, especially for a restaurant inside a high end Hilton hotel. The quality has dropped significantly in terms of choices, taste and replenishment rate. It wasn't worth paying even half of the 7000JPY/person charge. Our yearly ritual will change to a different restaurant. Maybe the new Prince hotel will have something worthwhile.

Went to this buffet, and got there early so I wouldn't have any hassle but was told by many different servers what areas to go, toured the food displays, and that the buffet wouldn't start until the exact posted time. After the tour, I was escorted all around the tables just to be seated next to the buffet... Very odd staffing. Then a chef said we can go to the buffet... I said, "Oh okay, so we can eat." He said, "No to take pictures..." I was dumbfounded... So I waited at the scheduled time to eat and was not impressed. Unless you are a dessert eating kind of person, I wouldn't bother. Plus the food was either dried out or no actual taste to the food. I definitely do not recommend wasting 8,500yen per person in this place. You can go to an izakaya and an onsen for that price or cheaper.

In 2020, the restaurant’s usual buffet offerings have been limited due to the COVID situation. We have enjoyed themed buffet evenings and even lunch. This time we were able to enjoy an amazing course lunch wonderfully prepared and served. The staff and service of the Hilton were superb and our anniversary was indeed remembered kindly.

i went to hilton hotel to have a breakfast. i think seala is the good place to have a meal. the food is good but not too special. i see, it is corona situation. haha. they served some handmade order ( some eggs, coffee, bacon). the jams and honey was good. not too crowded. i loved it. anywasy, the staff was friendly, so i had a nice time during meal. next time, my friend will come to fukuoka , i wanna go to there again. i was totally satisfied with the service..

The lamb tasted a little off. The "free drink" course for kids doesn't include cola. No syrup for the ice cream. The sausage was dry. There was no fried rice/french fries. Overall, not bad, but definitely not worth the price you pay. The kids area is nice if you have kids. Otherwise, kind of a waste of money. There are much better/cheaper buffets out there

Stopped by this Starbucks daily when I taught a 5-week course in Fukuoka since the school was a couple blocks from Hakata Station.

No toilets inside.

Starbucks is Starbucks, but this is a short distance from Hakata Station Chikushi-guchi. There is a lot of space inside and nice decor. The counter facing the outside window gives a nice view of the hustle and bustle of Hakata Station.

Always pretty full, but with its central location you can't expect it to not be busy. Service is pretty fast each time, servers always pleasant.

I ordered a venti mocha coffee with whipped. I did ask for a strong coffee with one pump of chocolate and little skimmed milk. Unfortunately my coffee was more like white coffee. I asked for an extra shot to fix it but I was told I need to pay more. Not happy that my first Starbucks coffee in Japan was not up to Starbucks standard. Not a happy girl 😞

Food is great. Soft beef steak, pizza, japanese curry, salad, etc. The only weak points were lack of cappuccino (only brewed coffee), fresh vegetables, and pickled vegetables. But all the available food was so delicious and well cooked. Good quality chocolate was used for the fondue.

Food was fantastic, high quality clean. Service was incredible, waiters were very attentive, refilling water and removing empty plates, service with a smile and excellent demeanor. Atmosphere was clean, crisp, well maintained, food was always refilled. Exactly what you expect from high quality Japanese breakfast buffet at a nice hotel. Breakfast was about $25usd

Came here for NYE dinner with my boyfriend. The bill came to over 11000 yen. The food variety was not good and the food quality was even worse. Especially for the price. We dropped by this beautiful Starbucks for breakfast before exploring the nearby Sengan-en gardens, and we were really glad we did. The café is housed inside a historic building that’s full of character — both the exterior and interior have a traditional charm that makes it feel very different from the usual Starbucks experience. Wow this Starbucks shop is one of the best I have visited in terms of design and space. The building is beautiful from outside and harmonious with its environment. The building where the Starbucks is at is beautiful inside and outside, even though is just another Starbucks the vibe is really good and is very cozy, ideal for book reading or work in your computer, specially on the second floor. In my personal opinion the drinks and treats of Starbucks Japan are nowhere close to the those back in Canada the US, Mexico or South Korea for that matter, but this Starbucks in particular in my opinion prepares the drinks way better that any other Starbucks in Miyazaki prefecture or a few that I have tried in Fukuoka or Tokyo so congratulations to the staff.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this beautiful hotel and all the meals were really well prepared and presented. We had a very satisfying lunch at The Luigans. Highly recommend it.

They provide beef, pork, and chicken. So for firstimer you can spend time with the ticket machine in English. Also they have a very bargaining price for luch set. If you come in during lunch time, try to select the lunch set 👍🏻 Their the ticket machine system is a very good operation. I like it.

My first try of a Matsuya. Similar to Nakau and Sukiya, cheap eats served quick and ordered on a machine. With this one you order, get your ticket and sit down. When the number is called, hand over the ticket. The English option was a bit broken with no way of knowing it had activated until you start ordering as it doesn't translate everything. Also as soon as you add an item you can pay. No other buttons need pressing. Can tap an IC card and you're done. Still, delicious food, cheap, quick, good condiments, friendly service. Far too warm in there though.

Had a nice quiet time eating here once and another with friends. Macdonalds with a Japanese twist: powdered cheese. Central location with lots of shopping. Staff were nice, and spoke enough English as I didn't know any Japanese apart from "arigato gozai mashita".

The McDonalds is located beside the Yakuin station. The area at the ordering counter is small and there is only one small counter at the corner where customers can make orders. The floor above can be seated. It is clean and tidy. The bacon and egg breakfast burger was good and hash brown is crispy.

There are 2 counter in this mc donald one for card payment and one for cash payment. Me and my 3 other friends order in cash counter for food today around 1pm and the person who was in cash counter was confused from our payment because we said we will pay separately but they want to us to pay all together. And at that time the guy who was in card counter gets angry for nothing. He just swap card counter to cash counter and he scolded the person who was working in cash counter very hard infront of all customers because he was just taking our order thats it. Also he behaved rude with us too because 2 3 customers were also in line for order. Thats not how you behave with your customers isnt it ?? Its literally a big insult to scold your coworker infront of everyone. If i was in that coworkers shoe then i would have slap him very hard. I Am posting this because you guys also should know how a senior worker treat junior worker in in mc donald. If you love your work then you should learn how to give a good service to your customers no matter how you are pissed off !! Hospitality come first !!

McGriddle is the best menu in McDonald!!! Seat is clean, food is delicious, staff can communicate in simple english.

We originally wanted to come here for breakfast but missed the time slot. We chose lunch dishes from a limited selection on the menu. There is a buffet that you can select from but only 7 options. The lasagna was delicious but the portion given was so small. So much salad to fill a plate but doesn't satisfy your appetite. The egg on rice was okay but not as big as other restaurants we've been to. Overall it was okay but not impressive and we didn't feel we got our money's worth at $31 CAD for two people.

Order at the counter first, take a number and seat yourself. Your order will be ready shortly. Service is relatively quick depending on business. We just had a drink here in the underground Tenjin mall before our next adventure traipsing around Fukuoka. The place is decently clean and seats are well placed. There are tables as well as single seats counters. The pastries and wares looked delicious but since we had a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we had to forgo them 😔 there are many customers but the noise level is low 👍🏻

Hotel breakfast buffet contains a nice spread too: Japanese, Western, salad bar, various pastries and breads, etc. Waffle and egg station were especially good.

The Market F restaurant serves as the breakfast buffet for the Hyatt guest who qualifies for club lounge access. The seating area is elegantly decorated, the staff is professional and the food is excellent. The breakfast buffet consisted of both western and Japanese options - as well as fruits, baked goods, salad bar, coffee, tea and milk. The Japanese offerings include local steam rice which is soft and creamy, grilled fish, miso and stew soups, vegetables side dishes, and must try several kind of local soy sauces.

Even though our party of 7 had arrived a few minutes before last seating, they treated us like valued customers. We were not rushed. We had an enjoyable dinner and dessert. The food was delicious!!

Went for the lunch course semi-buffet. Was 4200 yen per person. Got the wagyu and lobster for 2100 yen each extra as well. The lobster was okay but the wagyu wasn't good at all. Would avoid paying extra here and just go for the non-premium items. The other buffet items were pretty good. Dessert was especially great.

Came for Sunday breakfast. Place has limited seats. Service is friendly and fast. We took the breakfast set with drink available only in the morning. 1600yen. Portion is sufficient. A lot of salad, filled half the plate. There are 2 pancakes, good amount of scrambled eggs and one big slice of bacon. Taste is not bad. Cafe latte is not intense in Japan. Tasted about the same everywhere.

came here for breakfast. actually did not plan came here but woke up early, so search a place for breakfast. not far from where i stayed. it is behind the post office that is on the main road. a relaxing place and not much people when I get there. they have the one with egg or sausage, salty one or the sweet one. I ordered the 3 types Kyushu pancake, selected from 5. I choose plain, sweet potato & vegetables. It taste quite vegge for vegetable. quite thick one. They will bring along all 3 types of jam & 4 types of honey for you to try. You can try all on your pancakes. I prefer jam than honey. You can buy the pancake mix or jam in the store.

Love that they let you add on a bunch of extras like more eggs and toppings! And they have parking vouchers for the lot. (Put in your parking pass first, and then the voucher, and then cash) It is a bit pricey here though, and it is very small so don't bring a big group.

Really enjoyed my time here. Hope they have more chains around in other places. I will come here on my next visit to Beppu.

Gusto was a disappointment. Although convenient and family friendly I found the food was not as good as similar restaurants such as Joyful but the prices were higher. I found the food to be over seasoned for my tastes. My low score is purely based on a comparison to other restaurants that were more to my tastes, this restaurant still has great service, it’s clean and has a wide variety of dishes available, plus free parking.

We first came across St.Marc Cafes during our previous trips to Japan. While we were in Nagasaki in October, we visited サンマルクカフェ 長崎浜町店 for breakfast. I like how it's pretty spacious inside. We got the hot royal milk tea, BLT (a hot sando with thick ham-like bacon) and one of their Halloween-themed chococro pastries decorated like a Jack-o-lantern. The BLT was quite good... as was the chocolate and sweet potato filled chococro. We also got a French toast which came with syrup in a cut little container. On a subsequent visit, we got the Belgian hot chocolate, BLT, and potato and butter danish. Rich chocolate and flaky pastry. Overall, a great place to grab breakfast or a snack.
