We had breakfast at Pig and Pastry Café and really enjoyed it. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was welcoming. It didn’t take our food too long, it was delicious and full of taste. I also added chorizo and hashbrown to my sandwich. The sourdough bread was a bit too hard to bite through, but the filling of the sandwich more than made up for it, a lovely spot for breakfast with sitting outside. Affordable prices. Absolutely recommend it.

I'm sad I didn't try this place earlier in my trip. The food was great and better priced than some other spots in town. The decor is cute and whimsical and the food is great. Try the pea guacamole, it's fabulous!

Great food, lovely staff and a really unique quirky atmosphere. We selected from the brunch menu and were not disappointed. Offering children's portions from the menu would be the icing on the cake. Excellent coffee as well from a local roastery.

Came in for brunch with my friend. We were seated quickly, opting for outside seating due to how warm the inside was. It was a little cramped, but nothing to complain about. The lady that took our order seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there, being rather curt. The food itself was delightful I had the buttermilk waffle with fruit compote and this was the best waffle I've had in York! Super fluffy and light with crispy edges <3

What an absolute treat! Staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. ​And the food? Simply glorious! The coffee was equally impressive—rich, perfectly brewed, and exactly what I needed. ​Slightly quirky, with a great atmosphere. This isn't just a café; it's a cozy haven with amazing food, exceptional coffee, and great people. I'm sure we'll be back and can't recommend it enough.

Pretty good overall! Staff is really attentive and works hard. We had a simple breakfast, but it hit the spot. We definitely want to go back and hit up their pancakes, they looked amazing.

I came here without any expectations or prior knowledge about this restaurant, my friend suggested it to me. When I arrived, there was already a long queue, and I wondered if the food was really that good. I ordered the creamy truffle mushroom and the banana pancake. The creamy truffle mushroom was absolutely amazing 10/10! The pancake was nice too, I’d rate it 7/10. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to visit, and if you sit outside in the summer, you’ll get to enjoy a great view.

No wait time for a table, greeted with friendly staff. Offered a gluten free menu, and before ordering would check with the kitchen regarding any dairy. Food within 10minutes, and was great!

What can I say? Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, incredible food with an exciting menu and huge portions and a reasonable price.Felt safe ordering GF food as staff very knowledgeable about cross contamination and there is a dedicated gluten free fryer and a separate gluten free menu. We ended up eating there three times during our stay in York and we will DEFINITELY be back!

We went on a Sunday morning and arrived just after opening. There was already a queue forming but as we were happy to sit outside, we were seated straight away. We both ordered the pancakes which were delicious. The tea was loose leaf (perfect!) and they even preheated the tea cup prior to serving. We will absolutely be back another day to try out the rest of the menu!

Our usual celebration place for mornings of big days. Today's a level results being a case in point. Had my usual croque madame; wife had the smashed avo; and the subject herself had the small stack of pancakes. In fact, the two of them even had cocktails. With no yardarm in sight! The espresso martini and the bellini were, apparently, so tasty I had a sip of the former. They were right. The overall experience was as enjoyable as ever. We will, of course, be back. Probably for gcse results next week. And there must be some sort of results coming in the following week, surely?!

I so want to love this place and frankly I did. Having moved to York recently, it’s been a favorite of my young daughter. The last two visits went from bad to “I’m done.” The food is great and the hash browns, which I love are perfect! Yet this last visit felt like we weren’t “seen.” The service was just so disappointing as if we were a burden. The first two times eating here it was as if we found our place. However, the service has gotten progressively dismissive. We weren’t given cutlery, or napkins. When our hash browns came and we were asked if we wanted sauce, i asked for ketchup and a plate and forks. Ketchup came but no plate, no forks. We just ate with our fingers and dipped the hash browns in the ketchup we squirted on a napkin. When we were done and we asked for the bill no one came with it. I had to ask a second time while another 7 minutes passed. Others around us were attended to, given water and glssses, napkins and cutlery and were checked on from time to time but it was as if we’d didn’t exist. As bad as it has gotten for us, the one exception is Flo who is amazing. She is the one consistent aspect of our Robinson’s experience that has been positive and in our earlier visits, she was a joy to see and have serve us. Others may have a completely different perspective regarding Robinson’s and that’s great, good for them. But for me, it was as if we didn’t matter. That’s not hospitality or service.

We stumbled across this after a visit to a local farm & wow I am so glad we did. Everything was absolutely amazing, we had the breakfast burritos, they were 6 out of 5 stars. Delicious & amazing quality. Staff were so lovely. Service was fantastic. And an amazing charity doing such a fantastic thing. Honestly wish I found this sooner. It’s an hour from us but we will 100% will be visiting again. Thank you so much for such a pleasant experience.

The food here is always fantastic quality. The presentation is reminiscent of the kind you’d find in a fancy hotel. It’s always delicious too. I love coming here. The staff are always kind and helpful too. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

When the only fault is that you want a greedier portion then you know it's worth 5 stars. From the welcome, the service, the food, the cake.... Absolutely fantastic. First time visiting but absolutely not the last.

We supprisingly found out this cafe and it is truely "hidden gem". Menu is a bit expensive but food are nice, the creamy mushroom is delicious 👍 We love cosy space, shopping something pretty from the workshop next door. Will come back soon.

The quality of food, service, atmosphere and setting blew us away. Intrigued by the fulsome reviews, and being close to where we were staying, it proved to be a beautiful discovery. The whole enterprise delivers on many levels. It's a learning base with a big heart, a shop for products made in-house, and a relaxed eating area tucked away behind a residential development but overlooking an open field in a rural setting. And the breakfast, it has to be said, was a class act, just like the place itself.

We came here for lunch, careful because the kitchen on a Saturday closes at 3pm! We arrived at 15 to 3pm and they still served us lunch 💪☺️ We all had very delicious dishes, it also has nice healthy options ❤️ Really liked the place, would like to return again. Very friendly staff

Great vibes and thoughtful food. Fry up was high quality everything was sources for great food producer. Coffee was great, and the interior was low fi vibes. Chilled. Service was exceptional and very friendly.

I really liked the interior and their branding, using good quality eggs too. 👏 It has cozy vibes, and I liked the outside, I could hear some good sound from church too, which was extra good. However, I and my friend both ordered iced latte, the ice was already too melted in the coffee sadly… and food price made us expect full dish but the amount was too less… adding avocado was 4 pounds so I assumed it would be one or half of whole avocado would be cutted on the bread but it was just too little… 😔 Thankfully I was not like super starving that time but it was a little disappointing 😢 Also I think if some menus are sold out, it would be better to mention on the menu 🙂‍↕️

My friends and I came here for brunch one Sunday morning while in Sheffield for a short break. The food and service was okay. We dined outside, which was noisy since the church next door was ringing their bells.

The food is tasty, and the coffee is yummy. The prices however are crazy, £16 for 2 poached eggs in a tomato sauce. Would come here more if the prices reflected the portion sizes.

Love both locations. Been going for years. Staff used to be very personable and there are a few that are really lovely but i think it now being so popular the staff are a bit overwhelmed and so that polite-ness has taken a back seat. Sometimes it seems like a big ask to ask for tap water. Food and drink are tasty though.

My son took me to celebrate both our birthdays. We ordered from the specials board and had the spicy southern fried chicken with BBQ beef and pork and chicken gyros. We were shocked at the size and the waitress laughed and said "don't worry we do take home boxes". As we were leaving they gave us a little box with 2 cakes in which they were going to bring to the table and sing Happy Birthday to us which was a lovely gesture. Will definitely go again and can't recommend it highly enough.

The food was divine! The portions were plentiful too. I love that they have lots of options to choose from and a special vegan menu too. I went for the Goats Cheese Focaccia Sandwich with vegan pesto and a Rhubarb Lemonade and was over the moon with it! Definitely coming again 🥰

Had a fantastic afternoon tea yesterday. We had a disabled lady with us, so requested a table downstairs which we were given. In our group of 8 we have 2 vegetarians and 2 people that are gluten free and all were catered for. Our drinks orders were taken promptly and they kept coming. The food came out very quickly and everything was beautiful. We were all grateful for boxes to take our leftovers home. I have eaten here many times and the food never disappoints! Thanks again ladies!

Absolutely loved my first visit to the cafe. They have a specific vegan with lots of choice of breakfasts, lunches, sides, and desserts. Everything I had there was delicious and service was great. The indoor space is quite small and reverberant so it can be quite loud if people are chatting away but that's a minor bugbear. There is outdoor seating too, and the building and surroundings are lovely. There's also a lovely second hand bookshop attached!

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Booked a table in advance through the recently introduced online booking - as it can get really busy. Warm welcome and lovely staff throughout our visit. The food has always been excellent whenever we visit. Will definitely go back soon.

We booked for a large family breakfast and not only did they do what they could to fit us in, but they also got every order to us correctly and in good time. They even got it right when a couple changed their minds. Great setting too. Feels like I'm in the middle of the countryside, not the middle of the city. I really like it. I'm going back, especially for that tiffin.

This was a random visit but glad we found it! As a gluten free vegetarian it can be hard to find good places for breakfast but this is definitely one. Good portions and variety on the plate. Kids menu too, the only thing I would say is it would be good if you could put the syrup on the side of the pancakes as it was too sweet for my child to eat all of. Great overall.

Nibble is so lovely. I went with my daughter and my baby boy who is still in a pram and I asked if they had room for a pram. They said about 15 minutes and we didn’t even end up waiting that long. I was then helped with getting my pram next to a table and felt really well looked after. Myself and my daughter both ordered sandwiches and they were delicious!! Good value and amazing customer service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good food.

Not a clue how the inside looks as we sat outside. QR codes on each table make it easy to order without having to wait to be spotted by a staff member. Saying that- there was quite a few of them visible and available and extremely polite when/if anyone needed assistance so that’s a huge plus. Food was nice, maybe a tad pricey for breakfast place but very tasty

Love this place! It's popular for a reason. Great food, fast service and lovely staff who genuinely seem to enjoy their work. I generally enjoy a breakfast here when I see friends who bring their dog for a marina walk and being dog friendly, it never dissapoints. I also took a nosy at the nearby newer deli and takeaway cafe 'Next Door' by Nibble, and that too was busy and the deli food looked delicious. Hopefully they will never change their perfect customer focus and delicious menus - its so nice to find reliabilty these days.

The food was delicious, we really enjoyed our brunch! Staff seemed helpful and provided high chairs when requested. It wasn't too busy when we went either, managed to get a seat easily and get the pram through the café too.

Tried this place for breakfast and wow what an amazing breakfast it was. Not cheap but I do love a good quality breakfast cooked to perfection and this certainly was. Every item was so tasty, the portion size was quite large so didn’t need any food until late afternoon. Deffo recommend this place for their amazing breakfast. Would deffo go again

We ordered a hot drinks (flat white and cappuccino) they were delicious and we tried a strawberry cheesecake and it was amazing. Regarding the time we went there about lunchtime it was busy but after that it was cozy and quiet.

A great place for brunch. I had a vegan full English which was huge! As well as a breakfast burrito which was very cheesy and the meat was cooked perfectly. A great chai latte and cute spot.

Food was outstanding but unfortunately the service let our experience down. There seemed to be little communication between front of house staff as we were told we could sit at a table and then were stopped saying we couldn’t and then we could again. Went to the till to order and asked if there were any specials on to be met with “what do you mean, what you see is what we’ve got”. My friend ordered her food before me and mine came first and my drink arrived when I’d nearly finished my food in a takeaway cup because there were no glasses clean. I know on a Sunday it’s busy but I wouldn’t say it was overly busier than what should be expected in a Sunday and it seemed to be well staffed.

Food was truly amazing, I had the Korean boa , and my husband had the dippy egg (was a sweet meringue with lemon to made to look like an egg) , both were amazing. My daughter had the child's pancakes these were lovely.

The Wild Plum deserves all the success it can get. The staff here are welcoming and attentive to your every need. The food is delicious, diverse and immaculately presented. The decor is classy. Everything about this place is brilliant and exceeded any expectation I had before visiting. We ordered a range from the menu, including baked eggs with whitby kipper, smoked salmon bagel, salted caramel cake and classic pancakes. Complimented by a flat white and hot chocolate. Everything was on-point. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. This isn't the last time I'll be visiting. For anyone considering The Wild Plum, I highly recommend it. Massive kudos to all the staff who make The Wild Plum so special and worthwhile.

We came here for lunch after a trip to Burley in Wharfedale, Ilkley and Addingham in which we spent the morning house hunting. I’d seen this place on Facebook a few months ago and have been on my bucket list since. We arrived about 1.30pm on a windy Tuesday and you have to walk through the Snooty Frox shop. The Wild Plum is on the first floor up some stairs towards the side of the shop. The waiting area was busy with people waiting for a table. It’s a sign of a good place when there’s a long queue on a Tuesday afternoon. Nevertheless, as we travelled from afar, we were prepared to wait. The decor/surroundings is fresh and modern and love the teal colour on the wall. It has been tastefully decorated with had a real welcoming feel! It’s also a fab place for those Instagrammers! Plenty of photo opportunities of the surroundings! We were taken to our taken after about a 15 minute wait. The service was great and quick. We’d already looked at the menu as we waited so ordered pretty much straight away! We kept looking around at what other diners had ordered and couldn’t wait for our food to arrived! When it did come, our mouths dropped! The presentation of the food was fantastic! It was almost too good to eat! The food looked fresh and colourful. The Buddha bowl was a joy to eat. Every mouthful was a surprise! There were such variety that I didn’t want it to stop! The crispy chilli beef was so light to eat and very tasty! It came with glass/rice noodles along with fresh veg and peanuts. The curry was beautifully presented and our friend loved it!! All in all, it’s a great place if you like something different for lunch. They also serve waffles all day, alongside plenty of cakes. This is such a hidden gem! We’ll be back to try the other dishes on the menu! Service was friendly and great!!

Had the most delicious celery soup I've ever eaten today! Perfect with a tiny loaf of fresh baked walnut bread. Followed it up with a prawn salad which was also delicious and well balanced in terms of the prawn/salad/sauce ratio. My mum had an open coronation chicken sandwich with moist chicken, savoury granola, hope made pickles and chutney and a delicious lime curry sauce. Dad had venison meatballs in a Buddha bowl as he's carb free at the moment (although he did pinch the odd chip!) and really enjoyed it. Everything was beautifully presented and the service was friendly and attentive. This is a lovely family venture and ideal for a delicious lunch.

Friendly staff with a steady stream of customers passing in and out of the establishment, reflecting the regard in which the spot is held. Clearly a local favourite, despite the food taking a while to arrive and some time spent waiting outside for a table. When it did arrive it was good grub, made better shared with friends. A place with great vibes and a perfect for brunch.

There's is seating inside and upstairs as from the outside it doesn't look like theres much room. Food was super yummy (I had the veggie butty minus the mushroom) the avo has some onions or something in which i wasnt aware of and feel like its a bit strong for the morning. Mango matcha was yummy! Decent breakfast/lunch spot with good vegan/veggie options, drinks and some quite customisable options. No reservations so be prepared to wait outside. I had the vegan bagel which was a little plain but quite hearty for a vegan breakfast (defo needed sriracha, which was offered upon it being served). Nice coffee, too. My two little critiques are that the plate was unnecessarily large and empty for just a bagel, and we were initially greeted with quite rude, blunt service.

Amazing food as always, but today for the first time I tried the jalapeno and cheddar cornbread (gluten free) for the first time and was blown away....!! So so good 😊

Blown away by how kind the service was. One of the staff could see I was struggling to eat as I had my newborn with me and offered to take care of my son for a short while so I could eat for a few minutes. Food was great too, crayfish Caesar salad and full English are definitely worth trying. Coffee was also 10/10.

friendly staff, various menus, I ordered ice matcha and chive cream cheese (vegan) bagel which can be ordered from 9AM till sell out. The bagel was tasty and I also tried croissant which was not too sweet. Cozy place and quiet, go further inside the cafe if want to find a more private place. I still can do work here but with self-internet and full charged of laptop.

This soy latte ☕️ & lemon meringue kronut 🍋 was honestly the perfect start to my day. The kronut was incredible — crispy on the outside, soft inside, with that sweet-but-not-too-sweet lemon filling that melts in your mouth. I was worried it might be greasy, but it wasn’t at all — it was light, fresh, and gone in just two minutes! 💛 And their soy latte? The temperature was just right — perfect for someone impatient like me who can’t wait for coffee to cool down 😂 So smooth and comforting. Pure happiness in a cup. 🤍

I was recommended this café by a coworker. I chose to come here today and I was not disappointed. The quality of the coffee is to a very high standard and I can tell they take it seriously. I also took a chive and cream cheese beigl. I have very high standards when it comes to beigls given my background, but the plain beigl I tried was simply delicious. My only issue was the amount of cream cheese was overwhelming, but it's better to have more than less! The prices here are also very reasonable considering what you get for the price. I will be coming here again during my break some time.

I had the iced raspberry matcha but I really didn’t like the taste of the matcha, wish I asked for more raspberry syrup as it made the matcha drinkable. The server was nice

As a Saudi girl who loves good coffee roasters, I can honestly say Steam Yard serves the best iced filter coffee I’ve ever had in the UK. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is cozy yet lively. A must-visit if you’re in Sheffield!

Lovely afternoon tea. Great value for money! The fillings in the sandwiches were flavourful, chicken mayo had garlic and fresh herbs, Smoked salmon was very plentiful. The scones looked a little over done but had a lovely home made, fresh flavour. Beautiful creamy Cheesecake. Decor is slightly plain / functional

I just visited with my mum for afternoon tea on a sunday afternoon. The range of sandwiches and sweets were perfect for us and the scones were even still warm! could have done with a bit more clotted cream and jam but we do like to smother our scones! Service was amazing the lovely lady serving us made sure we were comfortable and kept checking in on us for if we needed anything else. It was perfect sat in the window people watching while hearing the Minsters bells. Would definitely recommend for afternoon tea or any other cafe needs you’d desire in the centre of york!

I brought my mum here for her birthday and it was so so lovely. The food was delicious and wholesome, the coffees really good too. I asked if it was possible to organise a candle on the cake and the waitress very kindly said the cake would be on them. Spent a wonderful time- thankyou so much!!

If you're looking for something fresh and lighter than most places, you might want to try FeVa's omelettes. They come with chips or salad, and the portions are abundant. Also, amazing view from the tables!

The food was absolutely lovely and so much for the price! The staff were beautifully kind and sweet, made me feel like I was home again. Absolutely recommend and the tea was lovely.

The pastel was excellent, with a crisp pastry casing that was the perfect thickness and a rich, creamy filling. The chocolate cookie was rather average, though the banana and peanut muffin was lovely. The icing was tasty, despite the muffin itself being slightly too dense. The texture of the candied banana and peanuts added a nice touch elevating it. However, the establishment is not the cheapest of bakeries.

I had brunch at the Forge Bakehouse. They microwave their food and eggs. Eggs are rock hard, way overcooked and the food overall doesn’t taste good. We are not happy with the food there sorry to say.

So so disappointed... Forge bake house was my fav cafe for many years but feel like since they've expanded the quality of pastries and service has gone down massively. Got a bear claw croissant at 7:30am at the train station, you'd think it would be freshly baked,but it was super dry and no filling inside!! They used to have so much almond/marzipan inside!! The girl who worked there today seemed like she hates people, never seen anyone so fed up with life :D not sure what changed but won't be going there again sadly :(

I’m allergic to eggs and nuts and zero options of sweet treats to cater for this allergy. Flat white was nice however quite bitter coffee Hot chocolate was pretty watery/milky rather than chocolatey.

Forge supplied the sweet treats for our wedding and we were not disappointed! We got two types of pastries and two types of donuts. Doing everything vegan was not a problem for the bakery and everyone was raving about them! Highly recommend if you're looking for someone to cater bakes and treats.

Had a pleasant brunch session, presentation of food was appealing, very tasty food, mushroom kale combination was superb, will come back for more. Had the raspberry pistachio cake however it was a little bit too dry to our liking.

I have such mixed feelings about this place after visiting a few times. On one hand, it's lovely, it's nicely decorated, the staff are really friendly, and the menu selection is good. Their chai latte is one of the best I've ever had. However, there is also a growing downside. Every time I've been I've not been given a spoon to stir sugar with my drink, which is quite annoying, I've also never been asked if I wanted sugar etc so I've always had to make a point of asking for it, I'm yet to remember to ask for the spoon and usually have to use my fork. I always order the breakfast brunch which always seems to come with one egg very overcooked, and the other cooked perfectly, very strange coincidence for it to happen every time so I don't know if it's deliberate. The last time I came, I ordered some smashed avocado along with my brunch because as nice as it is to see spinach on a menu, the dish is really missing the avocado. I was a bit surprised when it came ice cold, i would have expected it to be either made fresh or warmed up slightly if taken out of the fridge and being served along with a warm meal. On this occasion my spinach had caught the pan and was a bit burnt in areas so I had to pick those bits out because the taste of burnt spinach is quite strong. All things I can live with individually, but the negatives are starting to tot up. Now I'd say this cafe in general is bordering on being a bit pricey, it's not somewhere I'd go every week, just as a treat but to see I'd been charged £4!!! For the tiny pot of ice cold avocado is quite disappointing and it's discouraged me from returning. The meal and chai latte just wasn't worth a total of £23 something. I could have gone out and had a meal twice the size for the same cost.

The staff were really nice however when my order was taken, Noone asked if I had any dietary requirements. I noticed almost everyone else was asked though. I had the ginger and turmeric kumbucha which was amazing! Ordered the maple, bacon and blueberry pancakes and it was quite dissapointing. It was rubbery and hard to cut through and I was afraid that if it cooled off, it would be like one of those meals you warm in the microwave. I also thought the blueberries could have come as a compote or such. It was just blueberries tossed on pancakes. The bacon however were the tastiest I've had in a while. I could eat a bowl of those.

Celebrated my sister's baby shower at Birdhouse. The staff were absolutely amazing!!! Food was delicious and the space was so gorgeous. Will definitely be going again!

If you're looking for a tea bar this is definitely the place! There's a huge selection of choices and different tea types to suit everyone! There's also a selection of food, particularly brunch options but these were quite expensive

Visited for first time today for brunch because, as vegetarians, the menu looked great. We hadn't booked, and were told we could either wait 45 mins for an inside table or eat in courtyard, which we opted for. The staff all seemed very nice, but just didn't seem to have a clue what was going on in the courtyard. We ordered drinks (chai latte - just ok, orange juice, anericano & a Sheffield fog - all good), overheard a staff member telling another table there was a 35 minute wait for food (we weren't told though?). We ordered 2 vegetarian breakfasts & a devilled egg sandwich. Our drinks arrived (albeit wrong order was brought to us 1st) after about 20 minutes or so. They were long finished by the time our meals arrived, an hour after ordering, in my view an unacceptable wait for what we had (remember nobody had told us about any delays, we just overheard it mentioned to another table). The staff took 4 attempts to bring our correct order over. The breakfasts were ok, my sandwich was just sloppy egg mayonnaise, too much lettuce & strangely toasted bread (not toasted enough to colour, but enough to dry the texture so it seemed stale on the outside?) homemade pickles were nice though. This cost was £56 (lady on till kindly gave me a cookie I was buying anyway to make up for the mix ups without any complaint or prompt from me) - however we wont be back, too many other places in Sheffield doing what they do but quicker, better & cheaper, which is sad.

I arrived too early for my booking but they still made room which was extremely appreciated. Such a good selection of teas. Recommend the 'Botanical Gardens' blend. They were busy but all polite staff. Once ordered the teas and food came out quite quickly.

Excellent cafe with wide menu choice. Food and coffee was excellent quality. The venue is a bit ‘industrial’ so was quite cool inside due to it being a cold morning. Food wasn’t served on hot plates so subsequently went cold very quickly.

I started with an oat flat white before moving on to their sweet French toast special which came with roast apple, cinnamon sourdough, mascarpone and rosemary caramel. Alongside breakfast I asked for a split shot, which is not on the menu but the team were happy to accommodate. A split shot is served as two drinks, a single espresso and a cortado, so you can taste the coffee in its pure form and then see how it balances with milk. The coffee was good. Depot uses Assembly, which is always a reliable choice with strong consistency and good flavour on the lighter side of roasting. The espresso was rich bodied with a clean profile and sweet notes of dark chocolate, toffee and nuts. It was an ideal flavour profile for a split shot due to its versatility on the palate. The French toast was enjoyable and I finished it all. The cinnamon sourdough came in a crumb form that was very crunchy, something I would choose to leave off next time as I did not know how it would be presented. The apples were nicely roasted and kept their natural sweetness. The mascarpone had more of the texture of slightly over whipped cream, almost split, but still edible. The rosemary caramel was delicious, though I found the rosemary flavour quite light. I also purchased a focaccia and a chocolate brownie to take away. The brownie, while a little buttery underneath, was absolutely delicious with a rich unctuous texture. The focaccia I kept aside to use for my lunch the following day. Coffee I would rate as 8 out of 10, food eaten in at 7 out of 10, and food taken away at 9 out of 10. Depot has an impressive array of cakes and bakes which I will be returning to try. I would definitely recommend visiting Depot if you are in the Kelham Island or Neepsend area.

Disappointing execution despite a promising origin I tried their cold brew and found it underwhelming. While it featured coffee from Assembly—known for its quality—The excessive ice significantly diluted the flavour, leaving the coffee flat and uninspiring.

Amazing breakfast, everything cooked to perfection! They also have delicious sourdough. This time wild garlic and feta❤️

My favorite place to go now, they've got the Park, Cafe which has inside and out side dining!! Then after you finished take a walk through Walled Garden if you love the great outdoors, and all its beauty make that visit♥️

I’ve been to the depot a few times when visiting Sheffield and it’s one of the best, ever. Food, service and vibe is a solid 10. Yesterday I had a beetroot and dill croissant thing that has genuinely changed my life for the better. 🔥

A lovely cafe with great design and architectural setting. The menu is exciting and everything we had was delicious. Lovely friendly staff 😊 we booked for brunch at short notice on Easter Monday and they fitted us in on a lovely table. Highly recommend a visit when you're in Sheffield.

We’ve been coming to South Street Kitchen for a few years but always during the day. They have a great, vegetarian/vegan menu that even meat eaters will love and the coffee is great too. We finally booked one of their evening menus, which was Dumpling night, and it was SO good!! I’d highly recommend during the day and in the evening.

This was a lovely gem!!!! We went with 8 of us which was a lot of people but they have treated us very well! The food was incredible and being only vegi and vegan the level of quality was top notch! Their kombucha was amazing and the atmosphere was great too! The only negative was that it felt quite stuffy and would be good to have some air ventilations.

Stopped by with my partner and our dog on a walk, and we were really impressed. She had the Turkish eggs and I went for poached eggs on toast — both were amazing. You can tell the food’s made with care; everything was fresh and full of flavour. The staff were lovely too — really welcoming and friendly. Great spot all round, we’ll definitely be back! 10/10

Beautiful people with extraordinary ambience and decore. Little details from small flower pots to sitting area which attracts ones eye inside out. Food was so delicious and on spot. Freshly baked bread and service was superb as well. Lovely lady who served us also helped us with the menu. Simply impressed 👍😍

SSK is hands down the best place for vegan food in Sheffield. Plus it’s got the most gorgeous, laid back atmosphere. The food feels high end and is delivered in a beautiful way. Brunch and late night on Fridays (and now Saturdays yay!) it’s always delicious, the chefs are so talented and thoughtful with their creations. On top of tasty food, the service is consistently outstanding too. SSK have a really friendly team, who know about the food they are serving and care about making a comfortable experience for their guests. They’re absolute stars. Oooh great coffee and nice cocktail options too!

I have visited Pom twice in the past two months. During my first visit, we received our drinks in paper cups and our pastries in a bag, despite sitting outdoors. While the drink was enjoyable and the pistachio croissant delightful, I was left wondering why we were not provided with proper mugs and plates for our pastries. My second visit was unfortunately less satisfactory. Although the beverages and cake were served in the appropriate crockery while we were seated outside, the cakes were excessively dense, overly sweet, and almost sickening, making them impossible to finish. There were two staff members at the adjacent table who began taking photos of their Christmas drinks. This process took a loooooong time, resulting in an awkward atmosphere as we were frequently interrupted by their movements and them taking photos around us, trying to move out of their shots. Their lack of friendliness and consideration for our experience added to the discomfort, and despite expecting their photo session to conclude quickly, it persisted for over 20 minutes. I wish the same level of attention given to marketing their beverages was given to the customers. Just awkward!

I ordered a Pistachio Croissant. It’s super filling and joyful. The pastry is crunchy outside but soft inside, and the custard inside is rich and was oozing out when I bit into the croissant. Staff members are really friendly and helpful. Good vibe with chilled music in the background.

Loved the atmosphere of the café. It’s chic and lovely. We bought a vegan sausage roll and a chocolate and raspberry coconut slice, and they were wonderful.

I was blown away by the choice and the quality of this cute little cafe. The staff were so lovely and helpful too. I ordered the sausages and caramelised onion sandwich with a flat white, peanut butter fudge brownie and my friend got the pistachio croissant, they were all delicious! Even if you’re not vegan, you have to try this!

Came here for a vegan take out birthday breakfast. Defo recommend for vegans/veggies in Sheffield. Firstly, as a person who loves pink, this place is a feast for the eyes, too! Plenty of sweet treats (including a little vegan pick n mix), a drinks specials board as well as the usuals, and different sandwiches each time I’ve been in. I think mine was southern-fried ‘chicken’, slaw and sweet chilli on focaccia which was delicious and offered warmed up. Very sweet banoffee-style coffee and a great giant cookie. The girl who served me was an absolute delight and wished me happy birthday which was nice :) A few seats outside the front and a couple inside, too, with a dine-in menu.

I found the place strolling around the city and searched them on Instagram. Their photos looked so appetising and had to test how the food really taste... and the breakfast was so good! We tasted the Pom bowl and board and a couple of teas and I really recommend them. Perfect if you are looking for healthy, vegetarian or vegan options. I also liked that when we were there a supplier entered and left a box with fresh vegetables (lettuces, courgettes...). The waitress were kind and friendly and the decoration was cool too. They also accept dogs in case you are wondering...

Saw an Instagram photo of the valentines hot chocolate and thought I would treat my daughter today, so we popped down and got one, they had three different kinds. She had the gingerbread one, she loved it, just as good as the photos I had seen. Also got some cake and a latte, all really good, my latte could have been hotter though. Would recommend for sure and go back. We did have to queue a little however that wasn't a problem.

I’ve walked past Albies for months, but never gone in. However, when choosing a lunch spot yesterday I decided whyyyy not. I’m so glad I did. I was stuck on what to get, the man at the til said he’d had an Albies Club for his lunch and that it was stunning. Well that was it. Persuaded me and it did NOT disappoint. The best bagel I’ve ever had. Fresh, warm, super delicious. Will be returning for sure!

Visited this coffee shop in Sheffield on Bank Holiday Monday, about 40 minutes before closing when it was really quiet. The staff were super friendly and still happy to make us food, the coffee was excellent, and before we left they even offered us some leftover pastries for free. Such a nice touch. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and dog friendly – will definitely be back.

Popped in for a quick drink and some food on a lunch break. The peach iced tea was amazing and so refreshing on this very hot day! Great to see vegan options on the food menu too and not just the usual selection! I had the chickpea bagel and it was incredible- so fresh and flavourful. Great value for money all round and lovely staff. I’ll definitely be back!

Sometimes in life you drink a coffee, and it's just like, fine, whatever, it does the job. Maybe its instant, maybe its from a cafetiere, maybe its from a Costa machine etc. But then you come to Albies and get a reminder why drinking proper coffee is so much better. It's effectively a different product of a level of quality incomparable to the common muck that 'just does the job. And that's why you should get your coffee from Albies, terrific coffee that makes you reassess why you ever drink anything else. They haven't paid me to write this, I'm just sat here basking in the glow of an excellent coffee.

Had a delicious brunch today with lovely service from the staff. The Lox bagel had huge amounts of salmon and cream cheese and Albies club was to die for. The bagels themselves are crisp, fluff, and delicious. Even the works going on outside didn't dampen our morning. Thank you 🤩

Such a nice vibe. I tried their hot chocolate and latte, comes in a generous cup. Their banana bread is SO GOOD, my sister found it too sweet tho. The baristas are nice. A bit of a walk tho.

There's not a lot to say really, I came in here to spend an awkward gap in my schedule and this place is perfect for just that, I was too early for food but that wasn't an issue as im not sure I would have had time for food anyway although the menu items do look very appealing so ill be sure to come back when I have a little more time on my hands

Came here for lunch on a busy Saturday, extra points for being able to book online! The food was very tasty and the menu had a nice range of dishes on it. The coffee was very well made but the cake phenomenal! I had the honey butter and homemade lemon curd and it was stunning. It was a nice, light space with plenty of tables and natural light. The staff were also super lovely despite being a member down! Will be back to try other cakes and dishes.

Second time here, last time i visited was more than a year ago. Food has gotten even better! I ordered the Food special – Cuban Pork Bagel My pardner ordered the Beef Birria Benedict Taste, texture, quality, presentation all immaculate 👌 Also music was v nice (indie psych folk rnb stuff Jessica Pratt) and moderately quiet (ambient level) Open and spacious, batch brew coffee and chai latte were great too!

This place is brightly decored and nicely designed. Cosy and much suggested for a satisfying breakfast, warming drink. Opposed to the other cafes, the art on coffee is truly artistic and the kindness of staff makes the art more pleasing. The menu offers wide ranges including Gluten Free dishes. Close to the railway station and Sheffield Hallam University. So pay a visit upon entering Sheffield or on your lunch break

Proper gem just up from the train station. Bright, modern café with big windows, hanging plants, exposed concrete, and just enough space to feel relaxed. Coffee’s solid and the food’s pretty next level. I was just going to buy a breakfast sandwich but realised the full menu was on so I had to try the Beef Birria Benedict. Easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in town. I’m probably fuller than I should be at breakfast time 😅 but massive props to Kollective 👏

Came here for lunch and had made a booking. It does get busy so suggest booking ahead. Cosy atmosphere and friendly service. The team were very alternative and we were not rushed at all. The menu is varied with options to add extras. The food was of high quality and the dishes were fresh and well balanced. They are big portions so suggest going hungry! Only feedback would be that the coffee wasn’t the best, but could be personal taste!

Excellent café in a great location. We visited on a busy day and didn't have to wait for a table as there is tons of seating inside and out. The service was fast, despite it being almost full, and food arrived quickly! ☕️ This cafe is excellent for anyone with dietary restrictions as they have a large, detailed, clearly labelled many with gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options for breakfast, hot food, cakes, and coffee. They also have gluten free bread if you order a fry-up or soup. They offer a huge variety of vegan milk, and vegan spread for toast. The food is delicious and very high quality. 🦮✅ The cafe, both inside and out, is dog friendly!

We only had drinks, they were great. Relaxed & great staff. The painting of the clay was the best thing about the place, different shapes, sizes & prices from big dogs & dragons to little butterfly & flower. It was a great service & fun. Have recommend it to friends. They kiln fire & glaze it then you can collect or have it posted to you.

Wonderful lunch and time to rediscover the artist in me. Haven’t painted since leaving school 50 years ago. Choose a piece, paint it and wait to get a text to pick it up, once fired in the kiln. What a great concept. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. Helpful friendly staff made this a truly magical and creative afternoon. Sweet potato and chorizo hash with fried egg brought out my creative juices 👍

Such a treat this place. We only popped in for some lunch but turns out we could do pottery painting as well! What was going to be a quick spot for lunch, turned into a two hour crafting session. The food was lovely and came out in good time. The choices for pottery painting were excellent and the staff were more than happy to explain the process. As we weren’t local to the area, they also offer a postal option so you can receive your pottery after it has been in Kiln!

What a lovely place this is.. me and a friend went here today on the hopes we could have a cuppa and paint some pottery, we were welcomed in by a lovely young gentleman who sat us down to do that with no problems. A lovely lady served us and told us eveythng we need to know about the painting.. we spent a good 60-90 mins in a lovely chilled atmosphere with a cup of coffee, milkshake and painted our pottery. Lovely service by all. Lovely and clean and welcoming place and we cant wait to recive our pottery in thr post. Thank you.

We chanced an unbooked visit and got the last available table by the door. We were thankful for getting in and advised that being by the door, people would be coming in and out all the time. This was the case, but we knew the score so it was fine. I felt sorry for the lady welcoming people as she had to constantly close the door as people failed to understand it was their job to do so when they walked in (basic manners that evade a lot of people unfortunately). The soup we both had was excellent and sandwich was too. We had gingerbread lattes which were excellent as well. Overall a very nice place and definitely worth a visit. Definitely book a table though. Many thanks for a lovely visit.

Really nice place with a variety of very original options for breakfast - Couldn’t decide on what to get as everything looked delicious. Very tasty and fair portions. The place itself is very busy - we visited for the first time as we were passing by so without the reservation we had to wait for a table. I would therefore recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting over the weekend. The food arrived quite promptly though. The only issue I had was the very loud music they had. Difficult to have a conversation with such volume.

Tamper is easily one of my favourite brunch spots in Sheffield…..I’ve been a few times now for both food and coffee, and it’s consistently been excellent. The food really is the standout! Creative, well-balanced dishes that always hit the mark. Hands down some of the best brunch you’ll find in the city. Coffee is solid too, and I’ve had a cocktail or two on occasion…. also really good….but it’s the food that keeps me coming back. It’s always busy whenever I’ve been (usually weekends), so definitely worth booking ahead if you don’t want to be waiting or risk missing out on a table. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out, I’ve always sat outside, which is a nice spot to relax, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere. If you’re visiting Sheffield, it’s a must-visit. If you’re based here, it should already be on your regular rotation.

Warm, cozy and calm vibes, friendly staffs, the foods smell good, we sat close to the kitchen. I went here with my friends, they loved the menu due to the juicy meats and big portion, also with reasonable price. We also got milky chai, flat white and yellow smoothie (mango).

If there are 10 stars I will give 10 stars. We live in Leeds and travelled to Sheffield yesterday and found this lovely cafe. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were super nice too! Will definitely come back to Sheffield solely for Tamper!!

Absolutely 10/10 for this place! First visit and the food had blown me away! I had the brisket and eggs benedict followed by the French toast. Both were the best I've had before. Add the atmosphere and really lovely staff. Winner. Book in advance though.

Saw this place walking around town, but it was only open at lunchtime. Searching the net for somewhere to eat tonight and saw it was open, quick message and yes, a table for two was available. Fantastic rustic, quirky ambience, wonderfully relaxed, welcoming service and absolutely fabulous food and wine. We have never been to Harrogate before, came for a short break, it's a lovely place, and we would definitely revisit Harrogate just to come here again!. My partner and I were visiting Harrogate for the day and thought we'd give Quirky Farm Bistro a go, given its great reviews. We were not disappointed. I had the vegan breakfast, which was unlike any vegan breakfast I've had before: fried kale, mushrooms in a delicious tomato sauce on toast, home-made baked beans and little skin on fries. It was excellent. My partner had the full breakfast, which was a traditional one - he said it was great. Both washed down with good coffee. The were staff were very friendly. We will definitely visit again when we're next in Harrogate.

Absolutely love quirky farm bistro and cannot recommend highly enough. Me and my partner have travelled from Leeds just to be able to revisit and the owners are extremely lovely and food amazing. We have been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Wanted to visit last year but queue was too big…. Passed by with the family this year and no queue so dived in. Met by friendly staff and seated promptly. Order placed and 10 minutes later food was served. All singing all dancing breakfast for a family of four for £31 👌! Although a great price the ingredients of a high standard and cooked perfectly…. Portion size great and Tomato sauce Heinz not cheap vinegar tasting stuff. Well deserved 5/5. I’ll be back!

I had been exploring Whitby for a few days. Looking for a cafe that sold a good fry up and was open- this was around 7:30am on Saturday. Did a quick google search and this place came up. I was a little nervous at 1st to walk in there as there was what would look like working class Yorkshireman, but it’s to be expected and that’s what I wanted! A real down to earth non-judging place. I was welcomed, I sat down then got up again to order my food full breakfast and a nice mug of tea. One of the best hashbrowns I’ve ever had (which was extra).

If you're looking for something vegan, organic, some soya or oat drink or other overpriced almond salad, this place is not for you. Here they sell a proper food and fry ups. Thanks, had a lovely breakfast.

I cannot praise it enough. We visit Whitby a few times a year and I love my breakfasts at the Singing Kettle. Nice portions, good quality produce and great taste. The staff very friendly. Bonus it opens at 5.30am

We’ve been here a few times now and always have a lovely experience. The service is quick and friendly, and although it’s always been busy when we’ve visited, we’ve always managed to get a table. I really recommend the paprika scone and the hummus and falafel wrap! There is also a nice small menu for younger children.

A charming little tea room. The menu has a fairly broad range with quite a few choices for vegans and vegetarians. The menu is clearly labelled for those on a Gluten Free diet. Prices are a little on the steep side, which is what you'd expect for Grassington. The food arrived in good time and we all said how tasty the soup was. The falafel wrap also got a good verdict. The single toilet was clean. There are a few steps inside, but has level access to the main part of the bistro.

100% recommend. I visited multiple times during a short break staying in the area. Great vegan options. I was sold on my first visit when I saw four different vegan cakes were available! Breakfast, lunch and snack options are great, and the staff are really lovely. Had a good natter, and even recommended other places to visit. The place is dog friendly too! If/when I'm back in the area, I'll be paying another return visit.

Absolutely delicious food, very friendly service and free customer WiFi if you ask for the password at the till, which was handy as we had no reception at all on our phones. Food was prepared fresh so a short wait for food when we were there at a busy lunch time. We especially enjoyed the falafel wrap and soup of the day. One toilet which was popular so had a queue a lot of the time. I would love to give 5 stars overall, if only for the welcome we received, but the prices were definitely steep for the amount of food served. It was all great quality, no doubt using good produce, but the portion in the kids fish goujons and chips was so comically meagre, it even had our 4 year-old commenting on how it wasn't very big for £6.40. Same could be said for the size of the wrap + chips for £10. We'd come back if we're looking for a bit of a treat, but travellers on a budget might want to look elsewhere (though it does seem to be par for the course in Grassington).

This place is marked down on my favourites now. The burger was absolutely incredible, so much attention to detail with the flavours. The loose leaf earl grey was so fragrant and tasty. I wish I had more room for the desserts, next time! Quirky little place, and you can really tell that the owners go above and beyond to make their customers feels welcome. We were asked multiple times how our food was as well, which I always respect and appreciate. 10/10 for everything!

Very warm welcome by the staff yesterday! We sat outside for our lunch and was enjoyable! The beetroot falafel salad was delicious and fresh, and full of vibrant vegetables!! It’s a very popular cafe with plenty of seating inside and out!

A delightful small cafe in Grassington. The staff were courteous and welcoming. The menu selection was appealing. We were able to secure a table outside in the middle of October due to the continued presence of sunlight. The food was presented in a manner that conveyed freshness and taste.

I absolutely love this family run cafe. It's my favourite cafe and I come here every time I'm in the area. Even my autistic son feels relatively relaxed here and has come to be known for his ability to do Rubiks cubes and similar gadgets. The food is always delicious. There is always a great selection of cakes including gluten free and vegan options. It's a very friendly, happy place & dogs are allowed.

Found the cafe cramped and basic and a bit useless having only one unisex loo. Food was nothing exceptional with small portions way overpriced! Not impressed. £40 bill for 2 sandwiches, a salad and a coffee and a cake. RIP off. Service was very slow. But the staff were pleasant. About the only good thing.

Wonderful breakfast and coffee. Breakfast was made to specifications which when ordering breakfast for most places it seems terribly difficult for some reason. Not here. Everything was great. Arrived hot. Coffee, hot. Staff were lovely. Can’t recommend enough.

We visited this tea room on the recommendation of friends, and while the location is lovely (especially if you're walking from Grassington), the experience left a lot to be desired. The service we received from one of the staff, a middle-aged lady who looked to be in her 50s, was poor. She offered no greeting, no smile, barely made eye contact and took our order with the enthusiasm of someone who clearly didn’t want to be there. Midway through our order, she stopped serving us completely to listen in on a conversation between another staff member and a customer, despite the fact that someone else was already helping him. We were left standing awkwardly while she took her time looking in their direction until she decided she was done listening, with no apology or acknowledgement when she finally returned to us. We ordered two ice cream milkshakes at just under £9. The menu lists four flavours, giving the impression that they’re made with actual flavoured ice cream. Instead, it seems they use plain vanilla ice cream with a flavoured syrup, which should really be made clearer. The younger waitresses seemed friendly and polite, but the attitude of the lady who served us has unfortunately put us off returning. It’s a shame, because the place is charming and the view is lovely. If you’re in the area, I’d suggest bringing your own picnic and sitting by the stream just past the tea room instead.

What a wonderful place. Lunch with my elderly mum was an absolute pleasure. The building is so unique and obviously cared for… lovely flowers at the entrance. Walked in found a table and immediately felt relaxed and at ease in the lovely surroundings. We decided what to eat and placed our order with a delightful young lady at the till… Ella was friendly and so welcoming. The food was great and the coffee top notch… thanks Katie 😊 Best cappuccino in The Dales by far! Surrounded by a selection of well chosen gift ideas we left with a beautiful vase. We will definitely be back. Ignore any negative reviews. You have created something quite special and we will certainly recommend you to others and return again and again.

It was a lovely sunny day in Scarborough and this seemed the ideal place to have lunch. Like the first time we went a couple of years ago we were lucky to get 2 seats in the sitting area near the door- you really need to book to get a table at a popular time. The menu is long and if you like seafood then you will struggle to decide! In the end we both ordered the crab salad - my wife with the added prawns and me with chips! The food was excellent- a full dressed crab with a nice green salad. Reasonable price for what you get.

We wanted a nice quiet breakfast with a lovely view and this was a perfect spot. It was a lovely sunny morning, a lovely breakfast with a lovely view of the Scarborough marina and sea. The staff were very friendly and a perfect start to the day.

Fresh seafood. Great price. Haddock was meh Hot seafood platter was a great choice of you don't want lobster Chowder was ridiculous meaning you get a lot for the price! Crab cocktail fresh and no shells. Excellent service from the young 16 year old lad ... Great asset to the team (Haddock was a add on afterwards)

Yeah, really good. Had breakfast here and wished I had waited 30mins as I had serious food envy for the main menu. However, breakfast was class with options for everyone! Recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to eat in Scarborough. Not unreasonable prices either, very reasonable for the quality!

Amazing experience. Restaurant situated on top of fisherman docks. Crabs and lobsters locally caught served in the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff. I will definitely come back. Recommend to book a table. Place is very popular

Super friendly and attentive staff members. We did not have a reservation, however we were very lucky to get a table as they were at capacity. Food and drinks were served without long wait. The fish, oysters and the mussels were fresh and tasty. Very friendly atmosphere on the pier in Scarborough. Highly recommended.

This pub is a brilliant, traditional pub! There was a queue when we arrived but we only waited for around 5 minutes for a table. The first thing I noticed was that there was no music playing. This is really good in my opinion because it means people are encouraged to socialise and/or simply appreciate each other's company. It was so nice to have a proper conversation without having to shout to be heard. It helps when other guests are also mindful and respectful of each other. :) The food and drinks menu is fantastic, offering a variety for children and adults. We ordered the normal turkey roast dinner, large yorkshire pudding beef and lamb roast dinners, a brownie, cake, and three-flavour ice cream. Some pubs hold back on the meat and give out scraps, but this place gives you a proper portion. 🤤 Obviously, prices vary depending on what you get, but to give you an idea, we each paid around £15-£22 for a drink, main, and dessert. Staff are efficient and kind. We will definitely come again!

The food and service here was brilliant. It was market day so they were obviously busy but we were served very quickly. The Yorkshire pudding wrap with lamb, mint and feta was everything I hoped it would be. The lamb was melt in the mouth tender, delicious. Hubby had curried lentil soup, which was also very tasty. Staff are friendly, welcoming and very hardworking. If you are coming to Skipton, you must visit! If you like excellent food, good sized portions and very reasonable prices, this is the place for you. My only regret was being too full for a dessert!

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 – First time, last time My colleague and I met in Skipton today ,it’s roughly halfway for both of us and decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday breakfast. After seeing the glowing 4.7 rating for *Dales Cottage Café and Grill*, we arrived with high hopes and empty stomachs. Sadly, it turned out to be a disappointment from start to finish. We were seated promptly and handed menus — so far, so good. We ordered the “big breakfast,” expecting a hearty, well cooked meal worthy of the reviews. But when it arrived, the problems were plain to see. The sausage was deep-fried, clearly cheap and not local produce, lacking both flavour and quality. The bacon was limp and barely warm, while the beans and tinned tomatoes were tepid. Portions were surprisingly small for something described as a “big” breakfast. Then came the toast ,burnt, sliced, and placed in a toast rack. Whoever served it must have seen how overdone it was, yet it was presented without a word or apology. The plates weren’t warmed either, so what little heat the meal had quickly disappeared. We didn’t complain, sometimes silence speaks louder. We simply exchanged that disappointed glance that says, *let’s finish and go*. The café itself was heaving, cramped, and noisy, with tables packed so tightly that people were constantly squeezing past and bumping chairs. The atmosphere felt more frantic than friendly, more canteen rush-hour than cosy country café. For a venue boasting such high ratings, it was distinctly substandard — poor food quality, small portions, and a general lack of care in presentation. Food ⭐️⭐️ ,poor portions, cheap ingredients, and badly cooked. Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ , polite enough, though clearly overstretched. Atmosphere: - overcrowded and far from relaxing. A disappointing experience overall. Our first visit — and certainly our last.

Lovely cafe that is right in the centre of Skipton. So much choice of yummy food, we couldn't quite decide what to have. I had the hot turkey and stuffing sandwich and the homemade Broccoli and cheddar soup. They were both amazing and would highly recommend. My partner had the hot beef, onion and gravy baguette which he devoured! Very reasonably priced, would highly recommend to anyone wanting good wholesome food.

Beautiful, quaint place with friendly service. I had the full English Breakfast. I didn't want tomatoes so they asked what I'd like to replace it with so I chose an extra fried egg which was nice of them and unexpected. I have no complaints at all with anything in the breakfast. It was all cooked exceptionally well. I didn't leave anything. Will be back some day when visiting my Mum again

Try to book in advance, it gets pretty busy. Lunch was wonderful, Great taste. Worth stopping in. We loved that each table had a call button to push when your ready to order, need anything, or ready to pay. That made it very convenient.

PLEASE don't be put off people!! but the fact it's it's in the grounds to an abbotoir..( nothing to see) but a lovely on site fresh eating facility..family run, .Its a country kitchen atmosphere..food is amazing ! Got to sample the sausage and bacon on the breakfast...Done especially by this family butchers next door, can allow you to purchase all the meats freshly prepped on the site. Wonderful!!

We had seen recommendations for the breakfast so we had to try it. The Alternative Breakfast is amazing - sourdough toast with mushrooms, eggs, avocado slices and rocket, balsamic dressing, is an experience and the Butchers Breakfast is top class. Best double espresso I have had outside Italy. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient, and it's definitely a lovely family business. Stylish tableware too. Not cheap but worth it. Best to book but they'll fit you in if necessary. Interesting decor and a great atmosphere. Top marks and we'll be back !! Thank you !!

A wonderful cafe with fantastic food! Went with my bf today who had been before so knew it was better to book ahead as it is a small cafe. Called up this morning and they had space for us. I ordered off the special menu which changes EVERY month! Both our mains and dessert were absolutely brilliant (see photos!). The staff were all lovely and service was very good. There is a WC and both inside and outside eating space. Parking mostly on the road. Road is used by farm traffic so be thoughtful when parking to leave space. Very good value for money. Will definitely be back. Food pictured: chicken flatbread with pesto, stake and ale pie, pavlova, sticky toffee pudding.

Just want to say a huge thank you to all staff! I was nervous about coming in with two children (personal anxiety) but what a wonderful experience! The spooky milkshakes are a MUST!!! Food was pretty decent, I'd give it a 7/10. Did get a bit of eggshell in my fried egg though, which wasn’t great. The Deluxe Iced Coffee was really good. We wanted to hang around a bit longer and order more, but were asked to leave since there were people waiting, which was fair enough. The outside tables are on a bit of a slope, so the chairs are at an angle, which might be a little uncomfortable. Just a heads-up: there’s a 10% service charge added automatically, not sure it quite matched the service we got.

Absolutely amazing! Might just be our new breakfast spot for every future visit to Sheffield! The food is incredible and freshly cooked, flavour packed and portions to keep you full till dinner! Coffee is great as well, just the right kick to start a day of exploring.

First of all want to say that staff were excellent Although have to be honest and say the food really was not it. My girlfriend and I stopped by just before lunch time and had the hash and dirty sandwich. The hash was overly smothered with cheese to the point it was unpleasant, my dirty sandwich (sausage , egg, bacon and beans on grainery bread) was very average tasting. Beer and mimosas were decent, but for £44 I felt it was a little on the pricey side and not reflective of the food quality. Sorry, not a fan of leaving a bad review!

Went to HowSt for brunch today and had a lovely experience! The service was amazing—friendly.

Nice little place, comfortable and friendly service. They take your order at the table. I ordered the full breakfast which comes with a nice cup of coffee and 2 slices of toast. Unfortunately the breakfast itself was lacklustre due to the small portion. One sausage, as nice as it was, didn't cut it. One egg with one small tinned tomato and a small portion of beans also disappointed. Then the two slice of bacon was spoiled by the edges of the meat being burned black which completely ruined the flavour and enjoyment of the entire breakfast. The only plus was that the mushrooms were cooked too perfection. In my opinion a full breakfast comes with two of each item plus hash browns and at least one slice of black pudding. Then it would be worth the price of £9.60 which simply isn't worth the price for such a small breakfast.

Went to Bridlington for first time today 7th June saw the good reviews on Google and decided to give this place a go because it was close to the station. This place did not disappoint the breakfast was excellent they even accommodated me for my no tomatoes and no Mushrooms pet hate the fried bread & hash browns were top quality. Coffee was great 5 *

We went to "chloes diner" experience at this restraunt on the 26th september. Its only a small space but they manage to fit 4 tables in. Table of 4, table of 2, table of 6( us) and table of 8 in. From the minute we walked in they had us laughing. They had so clearly put alot of work into creating the proper karens diner experience with personalised chef hats, spin the wheel game and a bingo that was hilarious. Their customer interactions were brilliant....not just for our table but the whole place......10/10 effort. The food was great...... starter was a mixture of three dishes, mains and puds were picked by us.....the portions were massive and gave that home cooked feel to it. We came for a family members 15th birthday. After the event was over the staff all spoke to us; were really friendly and u could just see how much had gone into makin the night a success. If they do anymore theme nights ill defo be attending. A small business makin a big impact. Well done to all involved xxx

Have driven past Coopers many times but the other day decided to go for an early breakfast. It was delicious and great value. We went in before 9am and so the lady cooking did everything single handedly - super efficient. I had the full English which was delicious. Would have liked to try her home made waffles but that will be for next time! Highly recommend popping into Coopers for breakfast or lunch.

I love the coffee here but this time I decided to take my little boy and eat here. On arrival the staff were lovely and took good care of us. They offered my boy some marshmallows whilst we waited. The food is so nice. Tasty sandwiches and well cooked eggs. You can tell quality ingredients are used along with care and attention to presentation. I'm pleased to see a kids menu that isn't overpriced. Some 3 year olds don't eat a great deal so when we saw a sandwich offered with fruit it was a winner

Beautifully presented food that tasted as good as it looked. We were able to find something to suit everyone. The sharing platter was full of delicious mini bites including olives, hummus, meats, bread and salad and the lamb parties on flatbreads with fresh tzatziki were delicious.

Omgm! Absolutely love it here, so much so we made a special effort to track it down whilst on a visit from Stoke on Trent to Skipton, visiting the Yarndale wool festival. The staff were all lovely and it was made all the more lovely as Attic24's studio was open for viewing. Generous portions of cake, 2cup teapots and a fantastic selection of background music. I would definitely recommend and definitely revisit.

Great loose leaf tea & lots of it, the bread was lovely & plenty of filling on the flavourful sandwiches. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, very helpful & generous with portions, the cream scone was massive and very light, best cafe in Skipton (& we’ve tried quite a few 😊)

I walked all over Skipton looking to get an English breakfast after 12pm, they did it as a once off for us and it was good.

I only had a latte, but it was magnificent! And the little brownie that came with it was delicious. We'll definitely come back to try the food.

They sell good coffee I have to admit, one of the better ones around. After going there for the first time I really thought it was worth travelling 20miles just to enjoy it. It's not perfect though. I went there today and felt a bit like an alien from a distant galaxy for asking for a macchiato. Granted it was not on the menu, so I cannot blame them too much. But still, I was kind of hoping that a place, which has coffee in its name with 4.8 rating would easily be able make one. Cake is on the sweet side. If it was up to me I would have preferred it having a third of sugar. But that is just me. Someone with a sweet tooth would certainly be delighted. All in all, although I'm not sure I would be prepared to travel 20 miles there anymore, I still recommend it. If you find yourself cruising along A19 have a quick detour, you will be in good hands there.

Visited twice over the weekend when we were in the area. Wish we lived locally! The sausage sandwiches are simply the best we have ever tried. The bread was divine and the portions extremely generous. The coffee, tea and hot chocolate is first class. Prices very reasonable indeed and excellent service too. Look forward to visiting again to try some other things on the menu

Breakfast stop on a bike tour of North Yorkshire. Two of us had the bacon sandwich and one had the Cesar salad. The food was excellent and the drinks are really well presented, the small brownie with the coffee or tea simply topped the enjoyment. The welcome and service were very friendly, we will definitely come again. For the quality of food and surroundings I would describe the prices as very reasonable.

Each takeaway coffee came with a large chunk of miscellaneous brownie on the lid that's given by default. While well-intentioned, this poses risk to a whole range of allergy/dietary requirements (nuts, dairy, gluten, soya and eggs to name a few). The staff didn't think it had my allergen present, but I was told after the fact that "we can't guarantee cross contamination". A poor level of diligence on an otherwise very lovely, well-stocked and well-maintained coffee shop.

Came here for breakfast the last day of our holiday. We had the traditional breakfast. Tasted lovely and was well priced. Staff attentive and friendly.

Great food at reasonable price. We stayed in the local area for the weekend and visited this cafe for breakfast every day. The girls who work there are amazing and made sure we were looked after.

I knew it was going to be good when there was a queue to get in and they didn't disappoint. I'm not vegan or veggie but chose the vegan cheeseburger and salad and it was the tastiest burger I've had in ages nicer than any meat based burger. Not a scrap of food left on any of our plates. The staff are lovely and friendly and polite. Our food arrived nice and quick. Can't wait to go back again and this time I'll be trying the cakes. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Gotta love this place. The food is healthy and hearty, doesn't break the bank and leaves you stuffed! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The staff are spot on. Literally can't fault it, but have loved it for 20 years so might be biased. Thay alone talks volumes as it's stood the test of time and the recession, and gone from strength to strength.

I was unfairly treated for having emotional distress after realising that the staff didn't understand my question about the menu and hid the misunderstanding from me. I sincerely apologised for the alleged impression the staff had although I know I didn't do anything except crying and opening up about experiencing language barriers frequently, and tried explain that there must have been a language barrier, but I couldn't finish explaining myself. Instead, I got threatened with having the police called on me, and banned. Even when I was leaving, I kept receiving threats. If any of you can relate, you have every right to request a formal apology as being banned for so little is not something anyone deserves.

Zoo cafe is tucked away in a alley just off Newland avenue. It is vegetarian but accomodates vegan customers also. With a fantastic selection of food with large portions at a very reasonable price with mains coming to around 5 pounds. I would reccomend it to anyone in the area. The only issue maybe acctually getting a seat and at peak times food can be a little delayed in coming out but otherwise great place for brunch!

One of my new favourite places to eat in Hull close to Hull University. Fantastic atmosphere (packed, which is always a good sign). Very friendly staff. The restaurant looks and feels clean. The food was fantastic and not overpriced either. Definitely worth a visit.

Just discovered this great little cafe. Open all year Thursday to Sunday each week evidently. Good coffee and great food. Definitely worth a look. Proper cycle parking is a bonus. Updated February 2024 - still open end of the week, closed from Monday to Wednesday. Excellent choice of cakes. Limited but good hot options. Very pleasant staff. Recommended.

Excellent food/cake offer and good coffee with a view. The place is run as local community effort to cater for tourists in the area and people involved are providing great quality service. I took 1 star away from full score because of the facilities. The toilet is only the public one outside of the café building and parking is pay only. £1 per hour is ok but a bit annoying when the paying website isn't loading and I had payment pending even after we left.

Just a lovely friendly little cafe serving excellent coffee and a good choice of sandwiches from 'posh' bacon, vegetarian and vegan, as well as warm sausage rolls and a good selection of delicous looking homemade cakes! I am coeliac and pescatarian so I had the vegetarian sandwich served with a very nice gluten free roll - and a coffee with oat milk! They are very good on their choices for people with allergens and other dietry requirements, but they don't always have everything in stock esp after a busy weekend! (No gluten free bread on the Saturday or Sunday of the BH weekend!) But an excellent place to stop, with both indoor and outdoor seating! And of course with a beautiful view across the River Wharfe!

Although a long journey from Manchester, yet the sunny weather made it win win situation. Although parking is a bit dear. However, the overall experience was great. The depth of water is walkable. So the whole family enjoyed. The toilets and nearby cafe closes at 1700 Hrs so plan the trip accordingly.

I've been coming here for seven years - can you believe it's already been that long! - since it opened. It's gone through a few growing pains in that time, and a few chefs to boot, but I have to say that they seem to have found their stride in general offering a great lunch spot in Huddersfield. It brings the vibe of a Leeds coffee house to Huddersfield. The drinks offerings are fantastic and as far as I know they try to support UK or local suppliers and growers. My favourite place for a meat-free full English. It can occasionally be a bit chilly in there if you're staying longer than an hour - I wonder if they would invest in better heating or blankets? Service often top-notch, one or two front of house members really stand out in terms of how attentive they are and how well they look after you. Once you've been more than twice they're more than likely to remember you which is damn impressive because I'm willing to bet they have a lot of regulars at this point. Regular seasonal menu reviews as far as I'm aware which keeps things fresh. Try their supper clubs for a special night out - if you're a foodie you'll love it. Keep it up guys :)

One of my favourite spots in Huddersfield. Arcade has nailed the art of great coffee and even better food. Everything they put out is made with care and attention to detail - the coffee and food looks and tastes incredible. Highly recommend!

It was a quiet morning so I was able to eat and drink and knit for a while. I had the mango oat and granola thingy which was ok but the mango was soooo sweet and gooyie. Too sweet. It would have been better with fresh mango . The salted caramel latte was the first I'd ever had as they had no hazelnut syrup. It was pretty disgusting to my taste but others may enjoy it. It's a taste thing. Again too sweet for me. I should have asked for less syrup. Staff were ok. I would go back again and try something different.

Great for a quick drink near the station. We stopped by when we missed our train. The teas were lovely and the server was very friendly. Toilet was clean although down a lot of stairs.

Went on the 30th July, had an amazing meal but the highlight of the day were the staff. Incredibly friendly and helpful. They looked after us, making sure we had no worries with allergies and making us feel incredibly welcome. 👍🏻

Every time I come back to Huddersfield I always make sure to visit Arcade. The food is delicious and they have many great vegetarian options, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and their hot chocolate is one of the best in the UK as it’s made with real chocolate. I cannot recommend this place enough it’s a lovely little independent eatery inside Byram Arcade.

What an experience! I had a large espresso with scrambled eggs on a gluten free toast. Amazed by the quality and taste 🤩

Great local cafe that is very popular. There was a bit of a queue but it was quite quick. There’s lots of choices on the menu and the service was efficient. The French toast was generously served and was delicious! Great atmosphere and dog friendly!!

Humble food. There are bacon sandwiches and bacon sarnies, then there’s a bacon bun from Haxby’s Curious Coffee. They are simply a cut above your normal bacon roll. 4 thick rashers of the local butcher’s bacon perfectly cooked to how you like it served in a lightly buttered sesame seeded roll. Ketchup if you want it but trust me, you don’t want to hide the flavours of that bacon. Oh and the coffee is damn good too 😋. Service is friendly and efficient - what more could you want. So if you live in the area, save yourself a few quid on York city centre prices and treat yourself to quite possibly the best bacon sarnie out there.

We had a lovely time at our visit - we tried a cruffin for the first time, what a great idea! It was delicious and the coffee was lovely. The staff were all so friendly. We will definitely be making a Sunday cruffin a tradition! X

Two of us came this morning for breakfast and coffee. The service is outstanding, attentive staff but not all over you, we asked for another few minutes to look at the menu as they were keen to take our order upon arrival. They were more than happy to give us a few extra moments to decide. The menu is right up my street, not pages and pages of different things, a very good selection of quality breakfast/brunch dishes along with sandwiches etc. I had creamy mushrooms on toast with additional poached eggs and my partner in breakfast craving crime had smashed avocado on toast, again with additional poached eggs. The food arrived a matter of minutes after ordering and was absolutely delicious, a very hearty portion of a dish done exactly how I wanted it. The atmosphere was superb, it’s a medium sized busy dining area and you don’t in any way feel in the way or on top of other people which was very nice. The cake/desert selection is top drawer and we took some away with us.

Stopped by for a Latte and a cheese scone and both were fantastic. Great atmosphere and nice menu selection. It's autumn now so I had a pumpkin spice latte which was excellent and the cheese scone, with onion chutney was lovely. The menu has lots of lite bites like sarnies and eggs on toast plus the cake display looked super tasty.
